I'm Matilda. Hello.
Hello, hello, how's everyone doing? Good, we're all together here, Avain and Matthias and Marin in Cape Town.
who's just been meeting, talking about emerging markets.
Amazing must be nice for everyone to be in the same place again. Oh, it's very cool.
All right, I see we've got to comment here.
and Nick Pullen, Nick Pullen alone Nick, it's been a while.
So, let's we'll wait for a few more people to join before we start and Kubern will be great to have you up on stage. Thanks so much for joining and I think we're going to have a great conversation. So, we've just been sitting here in downtown Cape Town, Alvein, Matias,
and myself talking about emerging cooking solutions and clean cooking, green cooking and the potential of the marketplaces that can be built around households and their transition to clean and green and circular. So all very
get and relevant for today's conversation. It's great to have them on the call as well to be able to participate in the conversation. So I think we're going to wait just a little bit for a few more people where we can have a chat amongst ourselves and also very cool to see Nick on the call. We haven't caught up in a long time.
we must get together for a good old coffee. So, you're welcome. I'd like to introduce you to Matthias and Marin has sitting with him. We've spoken a little bit before about the potential for collaboration between the more than cooking
clean cooking sector and the recycling and so-called economy that you're involved with. So, the ability to say hi and it's going with the chat.
Hello, thank you so much for having me. It's very exciting. Space were in and it's fun to talk about so I'm looking forward to it.
Excellent. So yeah, we seem to have a fairly small listener base today. Maybe it's because Mike isn't presenting, isn't hosting, but people should join.
But let's get going with the conversation because I think there's huge amounts of interesting stuff to talk about regardless of how big the audience is. So do you want to start off just with a little
introduction to what is in power. I've been really intrigued and impressed and excited to be collaborating when I initially heard about the
existing networks and marketplace that you've been building out when we first connected last year or much earlier this year. So tell us about empowered and what you have been doing and then we can get into a bit of the more kind of next steps blockchain, power chain and so on.
Yes, absolutely. The story of Empower actually started in 2017, I think, when me and my co-founder, Villain, at that time, we were working on
on an SDK for app wallets. So basically, you could drop an SDK into an app to be able to have a secure
wallets solution easily. And this was 2017, so it was also early, obviously. So it's
One of the things we were looking for a lot around the time was good use cases for blockchain technology. How can we use this for more than just the crypto speculation box?
One of our co-founders of Empower as well. A guy named Simon Knutzen. He's a Norwegian surfer and
He runs and has founded an NGO in Norway called Nordic Ocean Watch and they do beach cleanups and ocean
