Absolutely. All right, well enough about that. Bad news. What kind of news do you have related to XCOV? So XCOV is underway. We are working with the DeFi protocols so we can allow governor
to sign up for ex-goves when they sign up in Q2 for governance period 7. So we can start the programming Q3 because to become an ex-gove, a governor will need to redirect
the rewards to the X-Cov program and they will get one vote per hour. So the rewards that they will get on Q2 will be deposited and locked up for one year and the X-Govs will need to commit to a nine
80% vote compliance in order to be able to claim that deposit back at the end of the year. So it's important. I think I wanted to start talking about this Ryan because I need as God's, I need governors before they make the decision to be
dogs to understand that if they do not, if their participation falls below 99%, that rewards the posage that they will put into the ex-gov, that will be lost to them and whatever is left in the pool will be destroyed.
at the end of the year to all the ex-girls that did the right thing and vote and kept their voting to the 90% threshold. So I just want to start talking about this every time. So, you know, the community started understanding how this works. I would like people to really consider
whether they're going to be able to do the work that is required to be an ex-gove through all the whole year before they commit because they're going to lose their rewards and that's never a good thing. So, let's start thinking about that. Development is on the way so we are aiming to let
Governors commit in Q2, so when they receive the rewards at the end of Q3, they will be able to kick off with the proposals analysis and voting, and we're looking to open proposals midway to Q2, so when
And we have ex-Govs in Q3, they can hit the ground running and start working on those cripples. So this is what up to now, we'll have more to tears soon. As soon as we know how the process of
coming next month, we'll work within our portal, within the different protocols, we'll write a long form blog post about it and we're also working on the assets for our website to, you know, that will give all the information. So, TBD, stay tuned, but progress is happening.
Thrilled to hear that very good alright ex-goves Look at looking good and coming right along. I know that there was another project that was released with the well similar looking name, but it sounds exactly the same when you say it any
Any comments on the confusion here and what we want the community to be focused on here related to the Algrant Foundation's XCOV program? Look, I've been I saw the announcement and I've been reading the comments from the community and
And I tend to agree that using a similar name will create more confusion. It will hinder more than help. So I don't know what they're going to do. Maybe they just announced that name because they wanted publicity.
We don't know why they would choose such a similar name to a program that we have been talking about since February, March, last year. So, TbD. - Right, right. - I would hope they would change their name, but I can force them to do anything.
Well, that's, that is the essence of a decentralized organization. Is it not right? Hard to force anybody to do anything. But do the right thing and let's not create confusion in the ecosystem. Let's all be together.
So we want to invite our live guest to hit the request button, come up on stage and we've got at least one guest who is interested in coming up and we will get to you after we go through a couple more segments here. Next up, what do we got?
events. Is that what we're going to be doing? Yeah. I'm doing any stuff to you, Ryan, because you're going to be busy in the streets. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. I depart on Sunday off to Denver. So, eat Denver kicks off this Friday. And my colleague, Jill Polion, I on the dev rail team are going to get in on Sunday
and then come Monday, 27th February. We are going to kick off the Elgrand Learn Web 3 Day in conjunction with the ENCODE Club folks. They have a hacker house going on all week during ETH Denver.
And we are thrilled to be partnered with them over the past couple of years and certainly with them here for the Algrand learn web three day. I'll give a little welcome little keynote happening on Monday afternoon and then Joe's going to go through and
do some learn to code stuff. So looking forward to that, we'll be doing office hours. We'll be happening throughout the week. So if you are in town hacking for the Ethan Burr hackathon, come and find us at the encode Hacker House.
be there to support you, help you learn, help you build, work on your smart contracts and get you ready to submit then on Sunday, the fifth of March for judgment day. Yeah. A very busy week kicking off in Denver, starting
this Friday and then going for 10 days. And who else besides you and Joe Pony are going to be there from the team? Do you know? I think if I'm the main of the team, to be talking to students and activating student clubs, who else? Correct. And then in addition to
to Ava will be PG in the gaming vertical. He will be there meeting with many game developers. And I know that we've got a couple of engineers from Inc that are planning to
We're going to be back as well, kind of for fun on the side. And lots of community members and projects as well will be there. So we look forward to welcoming them all and getting us all together. We're going to be, I guess, the other thing that we're doing on that Monday. So after
After the learn web three content wraps up that day then we've got a happy hour that evening on Monday. So if you're in town on the 27th come on by and I'll give you cheers. Awesome. So if you're in town, if you're in town come by.
during the day on Monday to learn more about where the evening drinks will be and hang out with everybody. Yes, sounds good. Alright, so what do we have next? I think we're up to the stats, what's going on in the ecosystem
Yeah, it was well if we head on over to the DeFiAlama.com website and take a look at the activity for this past week it looks very very plat down ever so slightly we now have
725 million Algos locked in our D5 protocols representing $197 million in value. That's down just 3 million USD in value since last week. So quite steady. And then similarly against our
peers who have DeFi protocols showing Algrang remains number 14 on that list. So not too much going on, but you know, steady. At least it's not a big downturn like I see elsewhere in the
markets more broadly so all good here awesome so I mean I guess when we are in bear market times less activity is better than having downwards activity isn't that right indeed all right good well
I think that wraps up this part of the show and let's see if we can't induce a little conversation from our live guest here. Hit that request button. We'll get you up on stage. I give a shout out to somebody in the community if you like. If you are a builder, tell me what you're up to, tell me what you're building, what you're working on. If you just want to come up and chat with Adrian, I would#
So next week when we do the alga plus show, we are, so I will be in in Denver and it'll be a little bit different time zone. Did we decide exactly when we are going to do it next week?
We're doing this at 12 p.m. Sorry, three hours early. We're doing this at
one PM Australian time today and we're going to do it at 10 a.m. Australian time next week. What is that going to be for you in central standard time Ryan? Actually it'll be Denver's and mountain time so let me do the calculation because it's
tonight we have gone off at 9 p.m. Eastern time and so three hours earlier plus two more hours is five hours so that must be four p.m. is that what that will end up being? Don't ask me, I'm not gonna be there anything so so, bitcher!
We'll go check it out. I mean, the best part is. Between 4 p.m. Wednesday 1st of March and 10 a.m. Australian Thursday 2nd of March. So in everything in between. That's right.
Of course, just make sure that you look for the tweets. We always put the tweet out there with the announcement so that you can set your reminder in the Twitter app. And then the foundation Twitter handle also will tweet it out throughout the week. So there we are.
- No, even if we don't. - If you listen to the recording, because it is true that we get a lot more replaced than people live in the rooms with us when we did the show. So if you're listening to this record and you have a question or something that you would like to ask us,
but you cannot be here. Just, you know, tweet the question at us. We'll read it out and we'll answer it to you as, you know, at the show in real time, if we. Oh, that's a great idea. Yeah, yeah. Exactly. So I sprung it on you, Ryan. But, you know, I think it's also
good way of including those who are busy at the time that we did the show and cannot be here. All right, well that sounds very good. I was thinking maybe you're going to spring an actual question on me like this, like somebody has done this already and this is why you have thought of it. Not yet.
I'm just thinking about it as something talking. All right, I love it. Well, very good, Adri. What else you got upcoming this next week? I don't really have anything, so I'm on my plate.
I'm working on the governance measures for this period. The governance periods should be online on Monday. So we have about five, six days before the voting period will open on the third of March. So people can have a
the voting period will be open for two full weeks and we are going to have measures about defy in this period. I think we are still seeing this trend of
moving rewards into the defy pot. So we got to ask the community about that. I don't have the final context of the measures yet. This is what I'm working on today. And tomorrow, so this will be a line over the weekend. And then, um, both of these weeks,
is making sure that we have everything that we need to make X-Govs have listed. And we appropriate that line so we don't miss out on anything. And we are having the conversations and creating the assets that we need to to make that happen.
So that's what I'm working on this week and next week. Well that's good. And then so how often are you getting together with your governance council itself and you know like you're like do you guys. Do you mean the governance that's that's that's that's
That's what I mean. You'll have to correct me on my yes. So I'll wrap up and now you are just finalizing it and getting it ready for Monday or? Yes. So we have two meetings since the start of February, which has been a little bit
But, you know, with the end of the year informing the committee and having all these conversations in January, we got a little bit, we were a little bit short on time, but moving forward, we're going to have one meeting per month and we're going to discuss, you know,
topics for governance periods on the month prior to the following period starting and we're going to try and get into a groove of having these questions ahead of time so we don't have to get close to the deadline before we finalize our
decision making. But it's been great getting to know the people on the community and hearing their perspectives. There are so many conversations that, you know, we have to have about how the governance program works. And it's important that the community, a large, seek how
the representatives and have those discussions so they can bring their concerns and questions and comments to us when we have those meetings. So to find like the list of the advisory council are they is that somewhere on the foundation
website and I know you made the announcement in Twitter and we saw all of them there I think almost all of them had a Twitter handle but is there is there a mechanism to do that outreach? There is a webpage I am chasing up a couple of people because I need their info but as soon as I get that the page
will be live. So it's already in draft. I'm chasing up a couple of people and as soon as I have all the info, we'll publish that and the commuter knew no exactly who they need to get in touch to. Love it. You're always, you're always thinking this is this is why you were such a great hire in this role. I'm just
Really thrilled about you doing, Adri. I'm really enjoying this work as well, Ryan. And I'm here to serve the community just like you. Well, good, good. Why enjoy each week, Adri, when we get together and do the Algo Plus show 41 times we've done this now? 31 times, friend.
All right, well, let's keep it going again next week. What do you say? Let's do it. All right. Well, I don't see anybody else coming up to jump on board. So I think we will play the music on our way out. What do you think? Let's do it. Thanks everybody for tuning in.
and we'll see you next week. - Thanks everyone, bye. (upbeat music)
