Music Thank you. Music Thank you. All right, all right. Welcome back, everyone.
Welcome back.
Sorry that first space rugged.
Not sure what happened.
That first space had more downtime than Algorand's ever had
in its entire blockchain career, you know.
All right.
So Mark, are you here?
Let me finish my point on King Safety.
So as I was saying, we're basically looking at all the possible options
to create long-term sustainability,
economic sustainability.
And so, yes, it is obviously something
that we want to open up for discussion
with the broader community.
And so the process that we're going to follow
is we're going to basically put our thoughts together
and say, look at,
here are the different categories of things you can do um here's how easy medium difficult it is to do
these things right and then and then we'll engage the community with with the different options and
have a conversation about that and then uh and then we will start the implementation sometime
sometime next year um so that's the that's the overall plan and in any case whatever we do
right remember this
this if it requires protocol changes right it will need to be approved by 90 of the stakers
so there's a very very high bar to go through here to get anything kind of launched on change so it's
uh we're going to take a very very deliberate approach to this and and work very closely with
with the broader community on this.
So first step is we're doing all the analysis and we're going to put a paper out there that says here are different options.
Here's how difficult or easy it is to do these things. Let's have a conversation and then we'll take it from there.
Beautiful, beautiful. Yeah, Al Grand, it's just so nice to see more and more community involvement from running nodes and securing the network to now the future discussion of the possibility of increasing or changing fees or, you know, implementing all sorts of other options.
Yeah. And it's really like it goes back to our kind of OG value statement.
Right. We really believe in this.
Like we don't want to be like another chain that just announces that they're going to increase fees 8x and then that's it. Like, we really want to make
this a conversation and kind of decide together what the best path forward is.
That's so beautiful to hear. Yeah, I mean, I remember, you know, finding Algorand a few years
back, you know, and we've changed so much since then. And it's just great to see decentralization is a process and just involving more and more
community. That's awesome. Another question I see in the comments are is related to privacy.
What type of on-chain privacy do you think we're going to see in the future? Is this,
are we going to have privacy built into our Layer 1 protocol?
I guess that's for me.
Well, I do think we need some level of privacy.
Now, it would be a big endeavor,
and maybe even problematic if we go, everything is private. So if we were to go the Monero route, like I don't think that's on the cards. I do think that we do need some privacy. privacy so we can imagine that today we share nft with each other it it doesn't make sense that i
can from that point on know everything about you who you spend what you purchase where your
previous transactions how much you received It doesn't really make sense.
You have to protect your users.
And so I believe in having privacy with disclosure mechanisms
if you need to prove or be compliant with something.
And I do think we need to think quite heavily on this.
And we're going to spend a lot of time on this roadmap,
the length of this roadmap and even beyond it,
thinking on privacy and how we want to go about it.
So today we actually have AlgoPlonk, which I think is a tremendous first step.
And we have things like HermesVault,
which uses zero knowledge circuits and to sort of, you can prove that you own a certain amount within a tree-like structure as part of these contracts,
which uses zero knowledge circuits and to sort of
and it's long, and it's a great first step, but I think we need to to have different ideas. I think we're going to write a few papers
this and next year conceptualizing the type level of privacy that would make sense for Algorand and Algorand has always been we always wanted Algorand to be a network that is attractive not only for
retail but also for people developing businesses.
So that needs to be taken into consideration.
So long story short, we don't have one strategy set in stone,
but there's a lot of things we can build around the protocol.
The protocol offers a lot already.
So you can expect that we're going to write quite a few
POCs, articles, and eventually, if there is the hunger, we're going to write fully-fledged solutions, and maybe even have
some wallets where default privacy options for payments,
for example. So that's all on the cards. You'll hear more
about this. Yeah, definitely.
Awesome. Awesome. Thanks, definitely. Awesome, awesome.
Thanks, Bruno, and thanks, Mark.
You know, so we heard Bruno's favorite part
of the roadmap earlier.
Mark, what is your favorite part
of this Algorand roadmap?
Oh, it's hard to pick.
I think, like, I've always believed
that Algor algorithm is particularly
well suited for payments um and i think that with the increase in agentic activity
the only way that agents i firmly believe that the only way that agents will be able to pay each other at scale in real time uh will be will be a
blockchain the blockchain is perfectly designed for this type of interaction and so i do think
that we have a big a big opportunity here a big potential here and that will drive tremendous
tremendous on-chain uh on-chain activity um so so i'm very excited about that. I think some of these things, you wonder
like how far is this in the future? I think this will come faster than people think. I'm really
convinced of that. And that's also why we actually have scalability as one of the elements in our
roadmap, specifically on the research side, because when a gente commerce takes off at scale,
I think we will need far more than 10, transactions per second and so that's why we put
the topic there in the roadmap is like to trying to figure out like how do we scale significantly
beyond not how do we scale like plus 10 plus 20 how do we scale an order of magnitude beyond where
we are today to be able to make this agent commerce world really, really work on chain. And so I think that's a massive opportunity, massive opportunity.
And I think it'll come faster than we all think.
That's great to hear.
10,000 TPS is just the beginning, right?
All right.
Well, I guess that concludes our space.
Sorry that it rugged earlier.
You know, Twitter has more downtime than Algorand.
Algorand's had never had any downtime.
But thanks, everyone, for listening
and for all your thoughtful questions.
And feel free to send us a DM or email or comment, you know,
if y'all have any other questions throughout the week
or anything at all.
We're here for you.
Thanks, everyone.
Have a good week.
Bye. Thank you.
