Alright, alright ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for
joining us for tonight's X-Spaces. We have a very exciting one for you guys today, an AMA with our
friends from Annie Chess. For those of you who are not familiar with Annie Chess, it's a subsidiary of
Animoca Brands and is set to transform the classic game by modernizing and tokenizing it with the
latest web3 technology, as well as a lot of very interesting game mechanics, which we will dive a
little bit deeper in just a little bit. Not only that, we also have an exclusive reward waiting for
those of you who are tuning in today. During the AMA, you will have a chance to participate in a
$50 prize pool, so some more details on that in just a second. Just some quick house rules before we
get things started, just to make sure that the space runs smoothly. If you have a question, you
can request to join as a speaker. Please do wait until you're called upon to ask your question or
share your statement if you have one, and please respond also in a timely manner or else we'll
just need to keep things going, just to keep the space flowing. Because today's space is an AMA
space, we won't be accepting anybody up as a speaker until we have reached the Q&A portion of
the chat. So we thank you guys in advance for understanding and we hope you enjoy the AMA.
Also, please do be sure to share this Twitter space out and make sure that our friends here
in the web3 gaming community don't miss out on tonight's call. And last but not least, don't be
shy to share a question in the chat, because we will be selecting five interesting questions to
reward a prize of 10 BUSD each. So do drop some great questions in the chat, guys, and we will tag
all winners in the comments after the AMA and ask you for your BUSD wallet where we can send you
the rewards. Also, please be mindful, we will never ever ask you guys for your seed phrase. So be
aware of scammers out there and stay safe, my friends. All right, wait, we need to go ahead and
check for Chev. All right, there he is bringing him up as a speaker now. So without any further ado,
joining us from the Annie Chess team, we have Chevy, the project manager of Annie Chess. Are you able
to hear us, Chev? Hey, let's go. Hey, my man, great to have you here with us. Thank you so much
for taking the time today to jump up here and have a chat. How's everything going on your side,
my friend? Oh, good. Everything's fine. We're just puzzle solving every day.
Yes, sir. Yes, sir. As we are as well on our side over here at Ancient Aid, so I already know how
that goes. We'd love a quick introduction from your side, my friend. Tell us a little bit
about what you're doing over there at Annie Chess. Sure. I think before I dive into Annie Chess,
I can give a quick fun facts and intro about myself. So I actually started playing chess when
I was six, got really competitive when I was eight, and then fell off the curve when I was 10.
Because chess has been around for so long, you need to be really hardworking,
you need to study a lot in order to be sharp at the game. And then I got into gaming,
I got addicted to League of Legends, played this for like, played for like 10 years,
but not really good, like play casually. And then Hearthstone, you know, strategy games as well.
And then for the previous four or five years, I also got into poker, right? So till now,
I'm still playing semi-professionally, currently top 100 in Hong Kong. So before joining Annie
Moka Brands, I actually also worked in strategy. So management consultant in Boston consulting group
for almost three years. And then I got into Annie Moka Brands, you know, starting off as a
also working in strategy, you know, operations and projects. And then I got the opportunity to
pivot to Annie Chess, which I feel like, you know, basically, it's basically the project for
me, right? So chess related brings back the fire, you know, when I was a kid, and then got to add some
magic to it, you know, with my gaming and strategy games kind of experience. And also in terms of the
game mechanics in the future, there will be some poker elements to it as well. And in terms of,
you know, prize pool, tournaments, especially in a wet free way. So, so yeah, that's a bit about
myself. Just pausing here for any reactions. I saw the emojis loving all of those.
Yeah, man, no, really interesting stuff. I love that you have a background in gaming. And and also
even in competitive gaming with, you know, with being a ranked poker player, which is incredibly
difficult to do, because that is such a popular game. So top 100 is actually incredibly amazing,
man, you must, you must still be very good at chess, then I imagine as well, because the games
definitely have some some parallels in terms of strategy and mind games all playing together for
for top players. So really, really cool to hear more of your background, man. And also, by the way,
dude, you got one of the most fire, Mochaverse NFTs that I think I've seen thus far. So congrats on
that PFP as well, man, it is it is fire. Cool. So give us a little bit more background now on,
on any chess. Sure, we'll do we'll do. So any chess is basically, as you have also correctly
described, is a subsidiary under any market brands, actually one of the top priority projects
internally. But apart from that, more interestingly, it's also partnership with chess.com.
So as you might have known chess.com has been around also for quite some time, and also have
over 150 million of registered users. And even DAU, it has over 10 million 10 to 15 million DAU
actually, playing chess on you know, chess.com on a daily basis, right? Even for daily puzzle
solving, you do have over one, one or one to two million of puzzle solvers every single day.
So it's kind of madness, right, in terms of, you know, the popularity of chess and how sticky this
user base is. So really, really hyped to have have this partnership with chess.com. So what is any
chance right any chance is basically a bold experiment internally, and also a, a kind of
an idea that we try to draw into action, in terms of bringing in magical and like TCG, you know,
spell cards, elements into the game of chess, right? So chess has been around for over 1500 years.
But it's not until recently that there is, you know, some innovations that we see in terms of
chess scene, right? And those innovations are getting more and more popular as well.
So for example, which has boxing, right? It's basically a, you know, alternate game between
boxing and chess and boxing, I would thought it's stupid, right? But turns out there are millions of
millions of people watching these chess boxing videos for one example. And the other example,
I am, I'm one of those people. I am people. Yeah.
That's awesome, right? It's hilarious, but also super exciting to watch at the same time.
But another point is thanks to, you know, Queen's Gambit, especially during COVID times,
where people just stay at home, you know, they got, you know, this legendary series on Netflix,
and also they got, you know, the chance to really, you know, play some online chess very
handily on their phones or on their website, you know, at home. So actually, the growth that we
see during COVID on chess.com is more than the previous 13 years combined, right? So the growth
of chess is actually pretty exponential the previous years, one to two years, in fact.
So yeah, so with this, what we currently have in the market, right, is the daily puzzle game.
So it's already launched, it's already live, you can play it on your mobile, you can play it on
your website. So it's a web-based game. And this product is basically a daily puzzle game,
right? So basically, you need to look for positions, you need to look for checkmate
patterns. And in some puzzles, you need to look for, you know, draw, you need to look for material
advantage opportunities, just like a classic chess puzzle. But then you need to use the spell in
order to solve the puzzle, right? So that's the catch, right? And thanks to Zurich, he actually
made some really, really good videos. And I have to say the community likes that a lot. And thanks
for making it hilarious. Thanks for making this fun for everyone out there before they
entering the game, right? So but that's just the mini game, right? The main game is definitely going
to be PvP, right? Because chess has been around for so long. It's always been a one on one
PvP game, right? So in the future, there's also a spell chess PvP, where imagine you can use one
spell to make your queen invisible for one turn, right? Just imagine that will already change so
much, right? Like chess has been around and you know, all these AI, you know, all these human
versus AI thing is because chess has been a transparent, like fully perfect information game
for over like 1000 years. And that's why we have this kind of big data and AI that completely
cracks the game and people also cheating, you know, like during tournaments, whatnot.
But with this just one spell of a difference, it would it is already so much difference, right?
Because you now have hidden information, you now have mind games, you now have like bluffing,
or like, you know, I'm trying to look like my queen is going to move here. But actually,
you know, I'm actually bluffing when I didn't actually move my queen somehow. Right? So,
so it's, yeah, it's a it's a bold try in terms of the spell mechanics, as well as the visual
aspect of the game, right? If you look at the game trailer, the current game build,
you have all these visual effects, sound effects, that adds a bit of flavor to playing the game as
well, to make it more like a gaming experience, rather than just a plain vanilla over the board
kind of chess experience. Yeah, no, I absolutely love I think chess is such a perfect game to
innovate on because there's already so much strategy involved. It's it's a game that is
absolutely timeless in terms of, you know, human history, and being a game that that has proven to
to stand the test of time as being something that people continue to want to learn and develop a
skill set within. And it's just such a classic game, but adding these new elements is is a way
to innovate on it. And where we're seeing it happening across gaming, right, we just recently saw,
you know, the the whole space get get taken over by somebody adding guns into Pokemon. So
innovating, you know, games that have proven to be really, really great, is such a such a unique
opportunity. I don't think gaming necessarily needs to be something where we need to recreate
the wheel fully, and just, you know, develop something completely from scratch. But yeah,
taking games that people already love, and bringing a fresh new, fresh new gameplay to them
is can can work just as well as, you know, building something completely different to begin with. So
love that you guys are innovating on on on such a great game and really looking forward to seeing
how it really does change the gameplay, especially in the in the PvP aspects. Just curious as well.
Um, so how do you guys feel that any chest, the balance of preserving kind of the core
values of chess, while introducing the new innovative features such as the spell mechanics,
to modernize the gaming experience, how has been like the reaction from the community thus far
in the early players that have gotten a chance to try the game?
So it's actually so in the very beginning, we also kind of had some doubts, right? We're not too sure,
like, personally, I'm very bullish, right? Because I come from chess background, I know about, you know,
I know about like gaming, Hearthstone, TFT, whatnot. But there are like,
you know, different people with different voices in the team or in the company that had doubts,
right? So we went out to kind of test the product and test the market a little bit more,
especially throughout the the early access, that we actually have this one week experience,
where we actually got over 400 K registrations, right for this one week experience,
eventually, we only, you know, randomly selected selected 2000 players. But actually, from that
experience alone, we had some meaningful statistics, right? One is actually over 40% of the players
do not have a chess rating at all. Right? So that also already came as a surprise,
because we would have thought, you know, chess players, you know, who who play strategy,
who who played the chess puzzle game, would be like, players who already are playing chess on
chess.com. But actually, those are, you know, a fair bit of those are really complete beginners
to begin with. And two is when we test about, you know, people, do they like the game? Do they
like the spell mechanics? Over 90% of them actually say they enjoy the game a lot.
Right? So regarding, especially regarding the spell mechanics, and then also the,
you know, from the mechanical standpoint, and also from the officials and, and all that standpoint,
they feel like it's an interesting experience, and also an elevating kind of experience and give
them a really refreshing take on this timeless game. So, so yeah, we were super happy. And going
to the going to the live kind of puzzle game that we're currently seeing. You know, we we have
around like 40 to 50 da us now, playing these daily puzzle games, over, I think, 150 k registered
users already currently on on the live game. So that also again, proven a point where people
actually do like solving these batch has puzzles, right? So so yeah, I think I think people are so
far loving what they're playing. Yeah, 150 k da you I mean, not da you 150 k registered users is
definitely an exciting proof of concept, I would say for sure. So that's that's really great that
you guys are ready, you know, getting player feedback, seeing what's working, seeing what maybe
needs some tweaking. But nonetheless, building alongside the community, I think is one of the
special things about web three is being so close to the community and finding out, you know, what
what they find interesting about the game and what mechanics maybe you guys can go deeper on
really helps you to evolve the game at a speed that I think is quite unique in this space.
Quickly before we jump into the next question, I also wanted to make sure to touch on what's
going on with space three right now. I did just pin it up at the top right now we have a mission
running with any chess in collaboration together with the opportunity for players to participate
in a prize pool of up to $900 rewards pool. So exciting times there. If you guys haven't
checked out the mission that's currently live on space three, do be sure to check that out at
space three dot GG. And you will see it right on the homepage, our mission with any chest. So
definitely be sure to check that one out guys. I also did notice that there's about 21 comments
down in the comment box. If you guys do want an opportunity to participate in the $50 prize pool
that we have for today's AMA, then please do be sure to drop your your questions down in the
comment box. And we're going to select a couple of those in just a few minutes. And those of
you who are selected will win 10 BUSD for every winning selected member. Alright, so jumping over
to question number two, curious to know what kind of challenges did you guys face Chevy with any chess
encountering during this transformation process of you guys, you know, building out this new
evolution of chess. What kind of challenges have you guys faced so far? And how have you been
able to overcome those? 100% right. So I think it's, it's not easy to begin with, you know, we
it's, it's easy to have an idea where you add magic to, to everything, but especially messing
around with this timeless game that has been around for so long, you know, you need some
you need some huge, you know, huge courage in order to try to do that. Was was courage what you
meant to say, Chevy? No, I'm just joking. Yeah, courage. 100%. But yeah, it's like we
Kurt, you know, in the very beginning, we we had doubts. And we also went out to kind of
test with different chess pros out there, and gamers as well.
We're super grateful to be able to test with, you know, players like Magnus Carson himself,
tested with, you know, David how well very early on, any scary and his wife as well. So these
seasoned professionals, chess players, you know, they spend their whole life studying chess and
currently, you know, top 10, or even the gold Magnus is also with the project. So it's, it's really
a privilege, you know, it's not like everyone can can do what we're doing right now. But we really
get to connect with the greatest minds in this in this field, in order to ensure at least on day
one, when the game launches, when PvP launches, right, we're not messing up with the whole chess
community, at least from day one, right, because a lot of games can really fail from day one,
due to like, maybe some some spells being too overpowered, you know, or the game is so
imbalanced, so so that people won't just, you know, we just stop playing immediately,
something like that will get extremely flooded, you know. But yeah, we're grateful to be able to
talk to the greatest minds. And then you know, that that kind of helped us in terms of how do we
calibrate the spells. And currently still in the process, because you know, with with the new spell
that we introduce every day and in the daily chess puzzle, you know, every week there's a new spell
and every week we get to collect these community feedbacks, right, in terms of what spells are,
you know, fun, what spells do they like, what kind of positions do people, you know, prefer to play,
whatnot. So it's a, it's really iterative process. But I wouldn't, I wouldn't say it's really a
super tough challenge to begin with. I think those would gradually show themselves in the future.
But but yeah, I think one would definitely be calibrating the spells, you know, from day one.
100% makes a ton of sense. And I couldn't agree more, man, you guys have some huge
courage to be taking on a game with with such deep roots. And I'm sure with such a passionate
group of followers, right, there's gonna be some people that feel like you're messing with their
baby by innovating on this game. But, but I'm sure there's a whole other side of that of
people that are really excited to see new elements make, make a new game, essentially. So just gives
them a different type of game that they can play, because their version of the game will always
exist, right. So really, really cool to see. And wow, you guys have had the chance to get some of
the biggest of the big dogs to try the game out. So that is really, really cool. It's, it's, yeah,
that's an opportunity in its own right. So how were the responses from some of those guys?
So to your surprise, it's, it's really positive, right. So, so for example, Magnus, right. And it's,
it's not too easy to get on the call with him. Because to be honest, he's like super busy. And
like, it's basically, you know, messy and, you know, messy in football. And he's basically,
you know, he's the gold in chess, right. And undoubtedly, so being able to speak to him and
pitch this whole idea to him and get him on board to this project is truly a privilege, you know,
it's a, I won't ever forget that, that call, I think. But but yeah, it's the feedback was,
you know, he actually had a lot of, it's actually a fun story, right. So he had a lot of, you know,
sponsorship deals, you know, partnership deals before. And what we heard is
the conversation that we had, or the amount of stuff that, you know, Magnus has spoken during
the call. It's actually even more than, you know, when he's speaking to the CEO of Puma,
like, like, when he was on a call with the Puma CEO, which he's like the lead kind of
spokesperson for, he isn't really speaking on that call. But with me, he's actually like looking
and studying the different positions and, you know, trying to make some spouse work, right.
So I'm super humbled, actually, with that, what I heard. And yeah, I just won't forget that
experience. I think so far, it's been really positive with all of the partner GMs and also
streamers that we have been talking to. But yeah, I think all of them are super excited
and looking forward to the PvP as well. So yeah. Yeah, that's awesome. And it's great to get
feedback from from players in general, but to get, you know, feedback from some of the biggest guys
in in the space, including goats, that really gives some more validity to the game. And I think
it also, you know, encourages other players that are not nearly at that level, to at least go
ahead and give it a try, you know, without counting it out before even even playing it,
which I'm sure some people might might just, you know, have have the the mindset to do.
All right, so jumping over to our next question here. Are there any other unique features that
any chess has introduced to modernize and differentiate itself from traditional chess
platforms? I'm not sure how many more features you can have besides absolute magic. But is
there is there anything else that we haven't touched on here yet? So definitely just touched on
on magic, and then all the visuals and, you know, sound effects, visual effects, and
I think the one point is the whole UI UX, you will feel a bit more like gaming. Right. So
we always compare, you know, the experience with games like Legends of Runeterra,
Hearthstone, you know, we're also getting a lot of inspiration when we're trying to build the
PPP game as well. So I think the UI UX, the game lobby, you know, the tournament lobby,
whatnot, it's something that you guys can look forward to. And besides that, I would say the
whole wet free tournament layer. Right. So I think in the future, there's one pretty interesting
positioning that any chess would be looking looking towards is we will be opening up the platform for
community versus community battles. Right. So imagine there will be a tournament room where,
you know, only a Suki and Pudgy penguins can, you know, token gated to join the tournaments.
Right. So something like that. And also imagine the chess boards, chess pieces can be customized
according to those communities. And imagine this, if this can be opened up to all the wet free
communities out there and have like a massive massive league or massive tournament of some sort
and have like a huge prize pool full of NFTs and tokens. It's just going to be like complete madness.
Right. So that is one thing that excites me a lot. The community versus community kind of battles
and leagues and in even within communities. Right. Think about it. Right. If if a Suki want to do
something fun with their communities and then there is this NHS platform where, you know,
only a Suki members can come in and there's like weekly leagues and weekly tournaments
and it's already a good platform for any of the wet free projects or communities to have some fun
with their with their with their communities. Right. So that is that is another feature that
we're looking forward to a lot and stretching farther into the future. I think we do stand
a chance to be one of the prominent wet free sports game out there. So if we think about the
mechanics, you know, like chess has been, you know, super strategic focused,
timeless strategic game. And then you have these fish shows as well. The card games,
you know, the mechanics, the combos. It actually actually streamers like to watch these kind of
kind of gameplay, I believe, especially when there are like prize pool involved, you know,
some famous players involved and community can be forming their own esports teams.
So, yeah, we're definitely looking into pretty exciting stuff in the future.
Yeah. Speaking of streaming, like you said earlier, chess boxing, I think it's got to be
one of the most highly streamed events on on all of Twitch when it's done by some of their
their biggest content creators on the platform. Right. Ludwig and those guys, right, they
throw one of the biggest events for the chess boxing, which is always a lot of fun.
So yeah, definitely an appetite from from that user base. I think next year,
we'll go ahead and jump into some questions that we have here in the chat. There's a couple
good ones. So if you want to scroll through there, and if there's anything interesting,
Chevy, that you want to answer, please feel free to or else I can also help you throw some out
there as well. I also saw Zyric said he's waiting for the PVP so that he can 1v1 you, Chevy.
He doesn't he doesn't want you ducking any smoke.
That is that is what I'm looking forward to. Like, yeah, especially with the tournaments
and play. Like, it will be crazy. Yeah, man, I got to try to get one of Zyric's videos pulled up and
pinned up here at the top. If I get a chance to I'll try to do that. I see a question,
a pretty interesting question here from Alex sins. He says it looks like the game you created is very
interesting to fill my free time while making some money. Okay, how to start playing? How many
tokens do you recommend to start as a new player? I also want to keep in touch how to stay up to date
on the game. Definitely. So one key point that I kind of want to clarify is any chance is a completely
free to play game. Right. So apart from, you know, as as opposed to, you know, or different from
some traditional wet free games that requires you to, you know, buy a few NFTs to begin with.
For any chess, basically, you go to any chess.com you log in with your Gmail. You don't even need a
wallet, and you're good to go, right, you can play daily puzzles, you can claim your rewards,
gasless, and all that, and just just have fun and have the chance to, you know,
get your hands into some of the rare NFTs as well. Right. So completely free to play.
Definitely one of one of the kind of main features of the game. Two is we are also
mobile compatible. So I think one another, especially for this phase, right, the mini puzzles,
is that, especially when we enable the mobile, like PWA feature, where you just play this web
game, just like in playing on an app, and you basically, you know, you solve a puzzle in like
one minute, two minute, and it's like a bite-sized kind of world-like experience.
It's actually highly addicting, right. The first thing that I recently think about every
every morning is to keep my streak and to solve daily puzzles, right. So I think another part,
another pretty critical reason that we want to build out the PWA feature is also for
like easier, you know, like when you're on the bus, you're in the toilet, you want to use your brain,
like it's super easy to do, right. So I think that's the second part of the question.
I think there's one more part. The last thing was how to keep up with what you guys have going on.
Ah, definitely follow me because I'm the alpha man. And then follow any chess game as well,
our Twitter handle. So our alpha, our latest updates will always be through Twitter and Discord,
right. So definitely join Discord. We got a gang of super friendly mods,
and then Twitter is where we leak all the alphas and give you guys the latest updates of the project.
Awesome, awesome. And speaking of using your brain while you're on the toilet,
we have Zairik joining us up. He said he had a question, but I think he also
may be getting rubbed by X. Zairik, can you hear us? Are you able to jump?
Hello, hello, hello, guys. Can you hear me?
Yeah, I just wanted to hop in and say hello to all of you, especially to Addy Chess and
Chev. I'm really a big fan of Addy Chess. And like Chev, I've been playing chess since I was young,
and I'm really enjoying Addy Chess because of its school. New features, the spells,
imagine they allow us to transform some chess pieces into knight or queen, like adding an
extra layer to the traditional chess experience. So just as Justin mentioned, we already have
Pokemon with guns, and here in Addy Chess, we got chess with magic spells.
You guys will smash it. Baby, let's go.
Yeah, I just have a quick question for Chev. What's the PvP modus release? Can I want V1?
Can I want V1 unit? No, no, no, no. No, just kidding. Yeah.
We want to see it on streaming, bro. We want the proof of the outcome.
Yeah, my real question is this, in the future, are you also implementing skins in the game?
I'm a fan of in-game skins, and I love to see special effects on my chess pieces or like
kill effect when capturing an opponent's chess piece. It would be fantastic to have unique
collectible skins adding extra layer on our game.
Definitely. Yeah, so just now, I also mentioned a scenario where,
you know, imagine the Tsuki versus board apes, you know,
you have to imagine they have customized skins, right? And that type of skin infrastructure
will be what we're building for this PvP game. Because one important thing that Web Free Games
are here and has the reason to survive is because Web 2 games, people are not really
buying and owning the digital assets, right? Because that is just the industry norm,
like, you know, you play Counter-Strike, you play Hearthstone, you play League,
all the money that you spend on the skins, you're not truly owning them, right? But Web Free Games,
if you make it just like a Web 2 experience, but with the skins and with the NFTs and with the
digital assets that is NFTs and you truly own them, you can freely trade them, transfer them,
sell them, you know, it's making all the difference, right? So it is something that we have by heart
when we try to build the NHS game as well. So in the future, definitely, you know,
chessboard skins, you know, chess piece of skins, you know, spell card and the card frame kind of
skins, card back kind of skins, effects kind of skins or music kind of skins. We could play with
a lot of those and it could be like limited edition, you know, Magnus Carson edition, you know,
you also have something that is more popular or more common, something more legendary, more rare.
So definitely trying to transform the digital ownership there while having some really cool skins.
Nice, sounds like our boy Zarek is going to have some fresh skins going on in anti-chess.
Zarek, by the way, please be sure to pin up one of your contents from anti-chess
up here in the chat. I think we're going to go ahead and let up, if he's still here,
Liam. I saw Liam raising his hand. I'm not sure if he's still in the room. Let me quickly check.
No, he might have bounced out, but if Liam comes back, we'll try to get him back up here.
In the meantime, I think I'll bounce back down to the chat. Did you see anything in the chat
specifically that you wanted to answer, Chevy? I'm scrolling.
Yeah, there's quite a good number of them. We got about 50 comments in the chat. Guys,
by the way, if you haven't yet asked your question down in the chat, now's the time to do so. Or
if you want a request to come up as a speaker, you can ask your question as well live. And we
still have a couple more people to choose to give a 10 BUSD dollar prize to. So do ask some good
questions down there in the chat box. Yeah, I think one I saw it's Hu Tai. So the question is,
there are many NFT game projects recently, would you mind to share key points that make your
project different and prominent, comparing with others? This one, I think I covered a bit.
When I was describing the spell mechanics and the skins, as well as the community versus community
battles of the gameplay. I think another thing I also already highlighted is we're dealing with
the whole chess population. And we do have a huge user base to kickstart with. So chess.com has
over 150 million registered users, over 10 to 15 million DAUs. So with that user funneling,
it's going to be a pretty healthy start to begin with. And I think free is not to mention we're also
with any mocha brands and mochaverse as our first launch partner. And they are basically the
giants of we're free right now as well. So with over 450 portfolio companies within any mocha brands,
while the group also trying to realize a lot of synergies. So we got to partner with mochaverse,
got to partner with grapes in the past, and also a lot of different any mocha projects like
Tower, Benji, and different projects as well. So we do feel like we're partnering up with all the
giants out there and hitting the right spots as well, I believe. So yeah, I think it's definitely
not a random wet free project that you would see every day.
Yeah, for sure, man. What you guys are building is incredibly unique and definitely having
the access to such a massive user base is such a key advantage, especially in this space where
lack of users is probably one of the biggest factors right now, even for people that are
building incredible, incredible games. The lack of users in comparison to web two is definitely
a huge hump to have to deal with. So having a big user base coming from the traditional game space
is definitely a big advantage to start in with, which we love to see because it just gives that
much chance for a great game to be successful. I saw a question here from Liam. He did try to
jump on the voice channel, but we missed him. So maybe we can answer one of his questions
from the chat. He asks, as a free to play player, I read about the gameplay. Mining and farming is
the two main activities to get rewards. Is the reward good when we compare it to the rewards
from PvP matches? If I wasn't to invest too much in any chess game as first,
is there a chance for me to win fights in PvP? So there's kind of like two questions to unpack there.
I don't know if that's too much. Let me let me just go to the question.
Mining and farming two main activities to get rewards. I'm not sure if he means mining and
farming as in just playing against the computer, if you will. Ah, okay, okay. Is reward good when
we compare it? Ah, okay, okay, okay. So I think a simple answer to that would be
definitely the prizes that you're looking at right now. It's not going to be comparable to the
PvP prizes. I think I think that's one because PvP is basically the the juice of the whole project
and it's also more easily easier to get a bigger user base and also a bigger prize pool.
So just like my example, you know, when we have like a massive community battle or massive
community tournaments, then you can also imagine the prize pool will be much bigger
rather than a pure daily puzzles experience. But that said, we are also launching a leaderboard
very very soon, as soon as next week. And that leaderboard will be based on
um the loyalty. So whether you are a loyal user of NHS or not, meaning do you have a streak
of solving puzzles every day? Two is how precise you are in solving the puzzles, right? Do you
always spam hints? Do you not try to think before using hints? Or do you make a lot of random wrong
moves? Those will be taken into account in the precision formula. And then there is the
orbs formula, right? So if you hold a full set of orbs, you also have some daily bonus
adding up to your points, right? And that will be kind of the formula when we think about the
leaderboard, which will lead to the end of season one, right? So that is actually the
some some alpha for you guys. It's not everything that I just said, it's public just yet. But
because ancient egg has been, you know, such a good friend for now. And Zurich has been proof,
you know, making all these great videos. So might as well just give you guys a bit more alpha. So
but yeah, it's um, even even when we think about the, you know, prize pool in the future,
and and PVP having a bigger prize pool. But still, if you grind these puzzle games,
if you have a long loyalty streak, and if you solve the puzzles, well, if you hold, you know,
full sets of orbs, you're gonna rank pretty high on the on the leaderboard.
And with the high ranking, you're gonna have something pretty sweet coming for you.
Love that. Love to hear that I actually just got completely rubbed from the space,
but was able to bounce back in before before you finished up there. But I was able to still
hear you because I had my computer on as well. Yeah, awesome. So that, that actually answers our
question there. I think if we have time for one more chef that that would actually complete all five
questions from the community. Do you want to do you want to take one last one before we close out here?
Yeah, sure. Let me see who is the
I see one here from Mira Kontol, which is kind of interesting. Yeah, if you think so as well.
She's asking, since you guys will be releasing a PVP mode soon, are you also planning to add
another mode such as the traditional chess mode, or some players might also want to some players
might also want to play it occasionally? What are your thoughts there?
Ah, interesting thought, right? I think with the partnership with chess.com,
because they are like the master, and they are like the biggest platform for traditional chess,
I think on that front, we're not trying to compete with them. And we're going to have a
pretty clear positioning in terms of a, you know, chess variant, right? But that said,
not, you know, we're not really confined to a spell which has kind of a as the only variant
that we offer, right? Spell chess is just a start, right? It's just a beginning, it's just a kind of
one of the easiest, you know, relatable, and also what would hit the market
with the loudest bang, you know, with all the trailers that we can make with all the flashy
animations and also effects that we can make, and all the interesting mechanics.
But in the future, if we heard something, you know, from the community, or we saw a particular
opportunity that we can add this new game mode, or we can pivot somehow,
we're also building the product pretty modular to add new modes and to, you know, be flexible as well.
So yeah, I think like the fact that we're starting with puzzles, but actually having,
you know, PVP in mind, it's actually another example of also being flexible with the product market fit.
Yeah, it makes a lot of sense. No need to reinvent the wheel when you got chess.com behind you.
They already do standard chess at the highest level that it can be done. So
makes a lot more sense for you guys to handle the new innovation of the game and let them
to handle the good old chess that we all know and love already. Awesome. Chevy, so I just want to
kind of open up the floor now for you to share any last info, any last alpha, any last anything
you want to share about what you guys have upcoming before we go ahead and tie things up here for
the night. Sure. I just want to say thank you to the ancient egg fam because you guys have been
amazing. Encourage you guys to, you know, follow myself, follow any chess game for the latest
update. And I also see Gene here in the listening. Gene is also actually our, you know, partnerships
manager. He's a super famous guy in the Tsuki community, so you guys please follow him as well.
But yeah, it's been a great pleasure to be building and to see you guys, you know,
enjoying the product every day and kind of, you know, in the discord, kind of
discussing, you know, strategizing, you know, how to reap the best out of it, you know,
and then how to solve some puzzles and really, really trying to learn the game and really
progressing every day. It's what I really like to see. And yeah, I think like this week and
next week will be huge. Like some things are going to drop like a massive bomb drop will
be happening next week. But I just told you guys the secret. Don't lose your streak.
Try to be precise with your puzzle solving and then have a full set of orbs for kind of daily
rewards. So yeah, that would be your key to reap the first wave of any chess rewards.
Nice. You guys got some good little alpha right there. So do with that what you will. But be on
the lookout. As Chevy said, make sure that you guys are following him. Make sure that you guys
are following any chess. Go connect with them over in their discord. Get acquainted with the
community there. And that's always a good place to be following the community. Also, don't forget,
we have live right now on space3.gg a mission in collaboration with any chess, an opportunity to
participate in a $900 rewards pool. So definitely take your shot on that guys. As for all winners
tonight, those of you who got your questions selected, we will be shooting you over a message
via DM asking you guys for your wallet address to send you the rewards. So congratulations on that.
And with that being said, we're going to go ahead and close things out. I want to thank you again,
Chevy, for joining us. We are super pumped to work with any chess. We really love what you guys are
building. Really excited for the collaboration we have with space3.gg and hope that we can continue
collaborating and building together in this space for a long, long time to come.
So thank you so much again for joining us, my friend, and for all of you who joined us today.
Thank you so much. And we will catch you guys all on the next one. Have a great day. Great evening.
Let's go catch you guys later. Take care. Bye. Bye, everyone. Take care. Bye.
