This is Grateful Show 385. GMGM, everybody. What a crazy Thursday we had amazing news from Gargaya from discord yesterday
and as always so many things happening in the space absolutely wild we gotta be talking about
Ape Chain today again because we love Ape Chain Spotlight 2 is in a full swing, so it's great to see. And yeah, this song was really funny because he was something like
one phone call and your body will be dumped in the, I don't know where.
I was not sure if it's Compton or if it's a country that's Tino from actually,
because I think it works the same there, right?
Tino, what's up, man? How you doing?
Yeah, bro.
Yeah, I actually arrived to my home country
just now after eight hours of driving so I'm like seriously right now literally I came out
of the car turned on the grateful show and got on and yeah in the 90s it was pretty crazy
over here but let's let's talk about future let's not talk about past.
over here, but let's talk about future, let's not talk about past.
How are you doing, man?
Oh, I'm doing great, I'm doing great, I'm having fun
playing games, checking charts, you know, I started checking charts because
it's more fun than it used to be, like, a year ago,
so man, EAT, come on, man, ApeCoin, come on, we need to
push it a bit, but i believe it's
gonna happen also there was a 23 eat sale of chaos deed uh such a beautiful deed i don't have that
one um man we really have to start only fans to actually be able to afford such a beautiful deed
you know i don't know how we gonna do that but amazing sale also i saw incredible incredible picture uh from then
and you know they brought byc flag uh on top of the highest point in europe that's crazy man
that's crazy those mfers are serious apes so i love to see that too um we also we also saw the
the 3d renders of uh new environment like not new environment but new renders of new environment,
like not new environment,
but new renders of Sans.
Amazing, man.
That's a vibe.
I'm not 100% sure if I have...
Oh, I love that.
Do you have Sans?
I have to check it out, man.
I knew that.
You am free.
I knew that.
And yeah, I gave STT,
which is Somnia testnet token to some apes,
you know, so they don't have to hustle with a faucet.
So that was good.
I think I still have some left.
So if you want some and you are Ape, Koda, other deed holder, Mutant, and some other NFTs in BYC family, just drop a comment here and I'll send you some because it's so much easier to get
like 20 sdt then grind it there right guys oh how is your how is your somnia whale status going
oh bro i don't want to say it loud because when you say it man they start chasing me and try to
dethrone me right but i think i'm first on leaderboard on kaito i think i'm first
on the on the quest platform yeah and i'm first in the in the somnia ceo heart so yeah i hope he
didn't i hope he didn't hear that because then he can bend me and i'm fucked but man really enjoyed
what garga was saying in the discord i i wasn't there personally, but he actually shared about the ApeFest that it was always like one night,
exception of 2022 because the venue had a strict capacity, right?
So this is going to be like one night, ComplexCon and a lot of side events,
which I'm actually excited that ComplexCon is happening because I probably wouldn't go there for that.
And now I have ApeFest and ComplexCon both at the same time.
We got to try to get some rare sneakers, right, Dino?
And then resell that shit and make tons of money, right?
Buy gold chains in Vegas.
Get married, get face tattooed.
Oh my God, get those fucking lowriders with gold grills.
Man, it's going's gonna be crazy trip
oh my god i'm not sure if i'm traveling you motherfucker
i think i'm yeah i'm not going grateful sorry i'm not might not be going it would be so funny
uh after we get back home and i'll have to call your wife dad i'm sorry tino got married for the second time in vegas
yeah uh let's let's not continue because the future ai will you know take this as a fact which is not oh my god it's man it's gonna be but yeah guys no man i'm super excited for uh
for the complex con i couldn't be more excited it was one of my bucket list I always always wanted to do it so much
of course the bucket list is more
to be there with my brand at one point
which I think will happen
you gotta be there this year
bro you just have to bring the
stuff man we gotta hijack it
we gotta create like fake booth there
you know with Instagram stuff
we can do it.
That would be cool.
That would be cool.
Love it. Love it, man.
Yeah, great energy in the space.
I really enjoy it.
I love all the hustle.
This is actually a good idea.
I love those because it's like...
We do it, man!
The designers that had a product that was declined by IKEA several times.
So what they basically did, they created this product.
They put their fake EAN code, select barcode, and basically put it into one of the shops.
into one of the shops and people are going crazy.
And people are going crazy.
They are shopping for it.
They are shopping for it.
And, but when they came to the cash register,
it was like, they had no idea where it's coming.
So the whole shop, all the shop assistants
were like looking for the product,
where is it, what's that and so on.
And they created videos about that.
And they got it listed to Ikea worldwide.
So I think fake it tillury make it here in these cases
works and I think
it's actually a pretty cool idea.
Maybe we should do that and
we'll get some of the people
in the audience to create
a fake line there
waiting for the release.
Holy shit, we have to do that, man.
Listen, I'll give you a story.
So we were
releasing with my brand uh the slippers so uh like a slides the slippers they're one of our uh
really like really flagship products i would say and we always release them before summer
and do something crazy around that and one year uh they were kind of fruity design and like very colorful so we decided to release them
in the prague market on saturday which is super crowded a lot of farmers so farmers market
where people are shopping for their fruits and vegetables and we actually created a fake
stand with with fruits and vegetables and we were we were calling it like a fresh slide or something,
a big, and people, because it opens at,
I believe at nine or eight.
And so people were in the line
because they knew it, they would sell out.
So they were in line already since seven,
two hours or three hours before.
And the funniest part is, because there was a line,
some of the old ladies, like really, really grandmas, started standing in that line because they thought we had the best watermelons or bananas or something. I don't know. And this was hilarious, man. This was, I think, like five years, six years. This was one year before COVID, I believe. And this was basically amazing it was not really the the
fake one but uh it was uh it was the real deal but uh the old ladies uh were standing there
had no idea for what reason but this was hilarious yeah it's absolutely nuts guys i drove around uh
tino's uh main office or how you call it building uh forbidden place spot right and there was such a
such a long line it was like they were giving a free ape coin there it was insane it was like i
don't know like a half mile long or even longer uh it's so funny to see that bro so yeah yeah all
those people were standing in so the first day so we were you were talking now about the sample
sale that we do every year and the first day the line was going the other direction and I was pretty angry because it
was not going the same direction as our Ape Street gallery is. So the next day we started the line
and kind of framed it in the direction of the Ape Street gallery. So all those hundreds of people,
they were standing there, they were taking pictures of our Apes or the Ape Street Gallery. So all those hundreds of people, they were standing there,
they were taking pictures of our apes
on the Ape Street Gallery,
and that was cool.
That was a good one.
We're going to do it again in fall.
Love to see that, bro.
Love to see that.
Guys, if you are not on Ape Chain Spotlight,
definitely check it out.
Sign up, connect your Twitter,
get your meme coins ready um
i i think i'm not 100 sure but maybe we will have some hosts for you here today i don't know guys um
you know it's it's not what you think i know you quick you know but
no we're talking meme coins here uh i own. He was like, I'm so happy, man.
I'm in my country, like, finally.
So yeah, we should have some hosts for you
and AI will be crazy in the future.
And guys, also, if you have any questions,
drop them into the comments.
If you want some STT, drop that in the comments
and please retweet the space.
There are like 40 of us here, 17 retweets.
So every retweet counts.
And yeah, I think it's time to say
hi to the legend because me,
Dino, you were there too, right?
On that super famous
Hong Kong dinner.
I was not, no. You were not
there? Oh shit. I would remember
you probably. So we were
on the most famous Hong Kong
dinner and it was such a
legendary dinner it was the best like the guy he brought us water and he he actually held all four
glasses in one hand and all fingers were inside the cups man inside the glasses inside the water
and yeah we we we got it we were cool so it had a group, like, it was so much fun, man.
Was somebody food poisoned from there?
Oh, man, I don't know.
I didn't ask.
It was the famous duck, right?
Yeah, like, there was basically just the head on table.
I think, I don't know, man, what was that?
If it was duck or it was wild, but it was such an amazing experience.
We didn't plan it.
It just happened.
And we had so much fun.
So yeah, let's welcome Prince here, the legend.
How are you doing today, man?
Yo, GM guys.
What's good?
Thank you for having me.
But yeah, that Hong Kong dinner, bro.
That was a funny dinner, man.
Like we didn't even get to order.
The dude just brought up food. He didn't let us order we were like can we order no fuck you and he started bringing the food man
yeah but yeah again thank you for having us um we just want we want to talk about our
project gabelets here um so yeah so we'll start, I guess I'll start off by introducing myself for people who don't know who I am.
NFT Print here, OG Board Ape.
I didn't mint my Board Ape, but I got in like a couple days after they minted out, so it was pretty early.
And, you know, I also started Board Club Canada, which I started the same month that the Board Ape sold out.
So it was May 2021.
I believe it was the first ever BYC sub-community.
And yeah, ever since then, I've just been building the community,
throwing lots of ape events all over Canada, attending a lot of Ape events as well.
But, yeah, you know, I've been a community builder and I just kind of wanted to bring it onto Ape Chain as well to build a community and, you know, just bring some fun stuff on the Ape Chain.
And so, you know, I have one of my co-founders here, Deep.
He's on the ApeLitz account.
Hey, how's it going?
He's also from Toronto as well.
You know, I met him here.
I actually met him because he attended one of my Ape events when he wasn't a bored Ape yet.
And, yeah, so we have two developers, so one of them including Deep.
And we also have a really good artist.
You know, we are fortunate enough to have a good artist.
He's worked with big brands
like Nike, Bose, and he's even done work for the Ape Hotel, which a lot of people are staying at
in Vegas, Resorts World. And yeah, so Deep pinned up one of the artwork up top already.
You know, we looked at the Ape Chain collection at
the time we were trying to, you know, make something, and we just felt like there weren't
really many cute collections on Ape Chain. You know, there's a lot of, like, pixel art and
just, you know, art people won't really, like, relate to, so we wanted to bring that onto ape chain and um we do
have a lot of utility which um i'll have deep talk about and actually go ahead deep um introduce
yourself so even i'm deep by the way um i've been in uh the board ape community not directly in the
community but i've always been a participant early on and And then I joined, I got a mutant a year ago, right before ApeFest.
And last year was the first ApeFest I went to.
And I met Prince actually through his events.
And actually another ape, while I was on Spaces, ironically,
she invited me to his event.
Her name's Gigi.
I'm sure a lot of people know her as well.
And so it's funny. And the last
event that Prince through, I helped him throw it at my friend's business as well. And during
Consensus and ApeCoin had also sponsored that and we had some cool sponsors there. So it's all full
circle. And so even the artwork with AplWitz, we wanted to really create something that was
family friendly. So even the traits that we have, we don't really have some of the DGEN traits like
smoking, etc. We really want to be able to onboard people from Web2 as well onto ApeChain. I think
that's important. And we also want to create, we wanted to create the branding and the art I'm not saying all this is happening.
We just wanted to put ourselves in a place with the branding where there are possibilities
like this for plushies, et cetera.
But what we are launching is we want to, we are creating games, these mini games.
And since we're creating, our brand is tailored around you know these cute
aplits and they we have a bunch of one-of-ones so one of the one-of-ones we pinned up top
and once you see all the one-of-ones we have a bunch of different character archetypes that
we're going to be storytelling and what we wanted to do in terms of the games is kind of bring back nostalgia. You know, being in school, I remember when I was a kid in school, having those off times going on the computer, playing these little mini games that were really fun and addictive.
And a lot of the inspiration actually even came from Bored Apes because of Dookie Dash.
Like one of my favorite experiences in crypto and Web3 was both times playing Dookie Dash, like one of my favorite experiences in crypto and Web3 was both times playing Dookie Dash.
The second time playing Dookie Dash was even more fun because I got my friends who don't like crypto, don't participate in Web3, and I showed them that game.
And two of my friends won $2,000 from that, and they're like, wow, this is a possibility.
This is a possibility.
And so we wanted to create these games that are competitive for people,
but also easy to play so that even their kids can play these games.
But it's still fun and addictive.
And even the possibility of playing them on spaces as well.
But it's not only the games.
We're actually creating a reward system and the reward system um
so you can actually gain play play these games and you can play them for free and they're all
free and if you have nfts you gain xp as well and by gaining xp you can convert that XP into rewards, which we're going to give away
You know, we're going to give away Ape.
And these NFTs are Ape Chain NFTs as well.
We want to support the ecosystem and give away opportunities to join some strong communities
within the ecosystem.
We're going to give away meme coins as well.
So we want to really tailor a fun experience
that is also rewarding for people
and also create some cool branding
and some cool experiences in the future.
And even the way that we're going to do whitelists
is we are going to launch those games before two of those
games before um we mint so that people can play these games to understand what we're building and
see that we're actually building something um without you know giving any empty promises and
they can play the games test it out and um earn whitelist opportunities that way as well so yeah that's
kind of the gist of where we're at really cool maybe just to clarify when we're talking about
games i guess we're talking about some kind of like a games what's the mechanics is like a twitter
games or some kind of a simple arcade style games or what what is the gameplay yeah so it's going to be arcade style
gameplays so uh two they're all going to be on our website and they are all on chain as well
they're on chain games so uh all on ape chain and yeah one of them is like a side scroller um
infinite side scroller kind of inspired from dookie Dash, you know, like games like Dookie Dash and Temple
Run, where there's this infinite loop and you collect things and you can get high scores and
see how far you can go. And another game is kind of like a whack-a-mole game that we have,
and we have our IP and we're actually gonna give out opportunities to apes as well. And even just once we mint out to people
to have their Apletts on these games in the future
and even partner up with other communities
to have some of their NFTs on our games
and the games that we build in the future.
So we're going to create more of these arcade style mini games
as we go and we'll have different competitions,
different rewards for playing these games.
Yeah, I love it. I think people love them as well.
It's tons of fun and maybe just, I might have missed it.
You might have said it, but how is the game actually connected to the collection?
Is it, you know, like, is it interconnected or it's just a kind of
marketing activation for it or it's part of the collection yep so holding so we're gonna allow
people anyone to play but holding nfts get anyone can actually earn xp but holding these nfts will
boost your xp and a certain number of nfts boost x And by the end of, say, a week or a month, whatever the timeline is, we're still figuring
that out, people will be able to earn that XP and claim rewards using that XP from the
And there are more rewards that we're going to explain.
We're going to explain those mechanics in the future.
But yeah, the games are very much tied to the nfts and the branding as well
i love i love those games i've been playing a lot of games recently and it's it's awesome man
those mini games especially in browser because it's so much easier to play it on mac uh but i
got also windows pc right now, so I can do both.
I can do both.
But guys, we have a special segment of the show.
It's sponsored by OtherPage and OtherSpace.
They always give us zero E and zero ApeCoin
and Prince and ApeLets community.
You're from Canada, right?
That's a country of basketball,
because you're from toronto or maybe
it's i don't know bro no i'm kidding man of course it's okay right i'm not retard but
it's basketball and i have to ask you who's the best player that ever played for a canadian team
um well it has to be kawaii because you know, Kawhi won us a championship, I think. What do you think, Prince?
That's a tough one.
So when I first got to Canada, my first Toronto Raptors jersey was Vince Carter.
Hell yeah, baby.
We have a winner here, baby.
Yeah, Vince Carter.
Yeah, you know, he changed the game of basketball.
You know, everybody loved watching him.
Everybody loved watching him dunk at the time yeah he's definitely my favorite player when i
when i first started watching basketball shit i'm minting man i'm minting everything i can bro
like i don't care i don't care about art about anything like i'm minting you know
yeah yesterday i i played basketball in bb force, Nike Shox BB4s.
Those are the ones that Vince Carter actually slam dunked over the guy in,
I think it was in Sydney, right? 2000.
So yeah, I love that guy, such a legend.
Unfortunately, he didn't win a title with Toronto that happened like 2019 or something like that.
Or did he? He probably didn't, right?
think he was already retired, bro.
But the Raptors
did hang up his jersey
last year, last season.
Awesome, awesome. So yeah, you want
the trivia sponsored by OtherPage,
OtherSpace. They don't even know about the sponsorship deal for this break, but please DM Nana for
some prizes, maybe some badges or something.
Yeah, let's keep on with A-Plat's project.
Go ahead, dude.
Yeah, so I just posted a tweet right now and pinned it at the top.
We are giving anyone that joins our Discord first 100 members whitelist.
So we wanted to give it out on the space.
Yeah, so feel free to join.
But you can go ahead, Prince.
Sorry, yeah.
Also, the host giveaway will actually happen in the Discord as well, so no hosts
in the space.
But yeah, the host will be in the Discord.
Oh, that sounds great.
That sounds great.
Guys, check the tweet, you can win some prizes.
And what was the moment that you actually decided that you want to make a project, right?
On Ape Chain especially.
Actually, we were discussing it for months, for a long time.
But we came through so many different ideas.
Even started building things in different ways.
But we didn't want to, especially Prince too.
He's built a big reputation in the community.
And if you build a bad project, it's always difficult.
You can tarnish that.
So we really wanted to make sure we had a solid idea that, you know, that we didn't want to extract from people.
And we wanted to create something that's fun and unique and not give like any crazy promises.
And we want to build for the long term. So the branding and the mechanics and everything really we had to really think about.
And yeah, so we've been honestly talking about this for I've said four or five months. Maybe it's been over a year. And so, yeah.
I've said four or five months, maybe it's been over a year.
And so, yeah.
Yeah, when we first really started talking about it,
we were playing a lot of games on abstract.
So we were farming abstract and we saw how there were a lot of fun games on there.
So we took inspiration from builders on abstract as well.
And honestly, there's not that many fun stuff on Ape Chain yet.
So we wanted to bring that aspect into Ape Chain.
Also, one thing to add too,
we've been playing Tawn games a lot over time.
And those games are actually really fun.
And they have a crazy user base.
And so we thought that there's a gap there
that we can fill on ApeChain as well
and bring gaming,
especially since Bored Apes,
they're really heavily diving into the metaverse aspect
and gaming.
And that's really what has been bringing,
that's a big aspect of them bringing the community together.
So I think we want to do the same thing
on a smaller scale, course on Ape Chain
Yeah I think with
vibe coding it's insane what people can create
and I think it will work
also on the other side and
I've seen a few games
usually they are like pixel
games but I think AI will get
better and you'll be able to create
even like 3D games
with good graphics but
what I've seen is insane so I can easily
imagine that you build
like an arcade machine and you put it
into your maybe
club that you built on your
deed and people come there play
games and gain maybe
XP or something like that and
that would be also cool activation from
other side, right? Because Garga mentioned that
for playing
or participating, you will
get XP. So, maybe
it could be like, hey, play those
games that actually Apes created
and you can get XP for that.
I would love to see that because
that would be win-win for everyone. So,
yeah, man, so many opportunities and new ways how to actually interact
and hopefully also monetize, right?
In the future with other sites.
So that's going to be a big one.
Yeah, I've actually been talking to PM.
So we're probably going to get access to the ODK soon
and we're definitely going to be thinking to the ODK soon and we're definitely
going to be thinking about building something on the other side.
That is the alpha, 100%. I'll quickly say hi to Dojo. Dojo, how you doing? What's good?
What up, Grateful? How we doing, GM, everybody? GM Prince, GM Apletts. I was just looking
through the art. I want to say that 101 with the spirit eyes has me fully invested. So let's go. I can't fucking wait
Thank you, bro, good to see you so grateful to see you in Vegas. Oh
Yeah, you know, what's up? You know what it is? Machiavelli in the building. Let's go
is Machiavelli in the building. Let's go.
Machiavelli, should I? Okay, give me a second before I say hi to you, man, because you are
really good singer, I can say. Okay, here it is for you. So get ready, Machiavelli, get ready.
We practiced yesterday or... So go ahead go ahead here in my arms forever apart you will be at a pass with me I love that man that's the best intro ever how you doing today I'm doing fantastic man thanks
for having me I just wanted to come hang out you know what I'm saying uh get a view from the top
and uh yo I love what I'm hearing about A-Place and I like the IP. You know what I'm saying? A very fresh take on the ape.
We really, like, wanted to create something cute.
And we're not going to lie.
We took a little bit of inspiration from, like, obviously, Bored Ape Yacht Club and also Pudgy penguins, you know, we wanted to create something that is web2 friendly as
well so that, you know, we can attract more people to ApeChain from the web2 side.
Love to hear that.
Love to hear that.
The art is dope.
I like it.
Will you be making like customs?
Like many or like how many if you be making customs? How many?
If you are going to do that?
Basically, I ask if you make me custom one.
Can we all get honor?
The question was, can I have a one-on-one?
Can I get a one-on-one, Jim?
I'll sing for you.
I can't answer that right now.
Our artist is listening.
So he'll let me know.
If that's a good idea, I don't want to...
You know, it's his direction in terms of the art.
We give him free will because he's done such a great job
and he's had a lot of input in the collection
because of his great experience.
So we'll definitely have to discuss.
I can't say yes or no
because i can't disappoint people and i can't so grateful grateful let me let me translate it for
you real quick no you cannot it was like that song bro i i let me find it song uh i think it
was this no no not this one what was this what's the name is it? Okay, I think it's this song. Yeah.
Hold on. Hold on.
Hold on, I have it, I have it. Here, here we go!
Okay, I understand, I understand right now, I understand right now.
It's clear, I got it, I got it.
But I tried it, I tried it i tried you're welcome thank you tino for translating i also see showbiz your showbiz what's up man how you doing
yo gf refo tino um i hope y'all doing well first i got a couple of things to say and then i got a question for prince and deep um uh where's beast
at did y'all lock him in the dungeon somewhere and forget to release him you know do y'all have
something against orange background he's still in the basement man he's still in the basement you
know our mutants you know he's my orange background cheetah buddy so you know i mean i i'm a little worried man i haven't seen him in forever
you know so i'm i'm curious bro have you seen pop fiction yes a long time ago you know that
that part when like they were like
bring out a and i'll end up there yeah i he's in that store in the basement bro
oh man you know i was just a little curious you know and i'm gonna say mcvelly please don't quit
your day job man my ears was hurting you know down below i had to come up here. Great try, though.
Great try.
Then my last thing.
Deep Prince.
Will there be any orange backgrounds?
I'm loving the ninja.
I love that
ninja, samurais.
Those are dope, man.
Love the ninja one.
Any orange backgrounds?
We explicitly said zero orange.
No, I'm joking.
You'll see.
You'll just have to see.
We have a bunch of base.
You guys haven't seen the base characters yet, the rest of the one-of-ones, the backgrounds.
We really want to slowly show you guys.
Well, you said you had to get it approved before he drew it for me.
Okay, yeah.
I think we decided to not have orange backgrounds, actually.
I just got a call from one of the devs.
Who's the dev?
Who's the dev? Do I need to fly to Canada?
The dev just died during the mid, bro!
Oh wait, is Minion right now?
Sorry? What was that?
But guys, who's the artist? You mentioned artist is here in the audience uh is is it public who's
the artist or is it a is it a surprise no it's public it's public it is public you'll you'll
have to find out i think um we'll give more details on like the members once they're comfortable you
know um like people do know who he is and um we just, out of respect, he does, he said he does want people to know eventually,
but we just want to make him feel comfortable first before releasing that information.
So, yeah, we just want to respect his privacy on that first.
Yeah, it sounded like Gatsby, but it's probably not him, but it sounded like that.
It's actually Beeple.
No, I'm joking. I'm just joking. Don't actually believe it.
Guys, Beeple's art minting on Ape Chain.
But if the artist hears us now, he can request, come up to the stage and announce it himself.
It's a safe space, guys. You don't have to worry. It stays here.
What happens on Grateful Show stays on Grateful Show.
Just come over here and say it out loud.
And Hype, go ahead.
I see your hand.
Is that you?
Yeah, brother.
What's up, Grateful?
What's up, Tino?
I got some great points to make.
Number one, the Aquamarine host is way better than the last space I was in with that orange co-host.
Don't know who that is.
Showbiz. that's number one so uh i'm more grateful that i'm on a stage with aqua versus the last
one i was in with orange whatever the hell they were uh the fact that prince and uh deep behind
that a blitz is canadian i'm bullish on that a because you know canadians are are friendly
uh and the fact that you know, we got Mac up here,
but the reason I actually came up is sometimes you rug when you're on stage
so you don't have to hear that shit.
So that's why I came up.
But if he sings again, I won't actually have to hear it
because I probably can't hear him on stage.
Thank God.
But Aquamarine on top.
Wherever you are, I will find you insane to you.
Why are you guys laughing?
Are you guys laughing for a reason?
Was he singing?
Maybe you can hear him.
It's okay.
Good, man.
But it was quite good.
I thought we were joking, by the way.
I thought it was a joke.
It was a good one.
Music to my ears.
No, no. I didn't know that shit. by the way I thought it was a joke music to my ears our next our guest for the next half of the show is probably not from ape community and if they're listening right now they'll be like holy
shit it's gonna be wild but I want to share one clip and every time someone say this is a safe space one scene from old school movie
comes to my uh comes to my uh comes to my head and i don't know if you saw that movie but i'll
try to play just just that little segment you know he's there on therapy or what is that with his
wife and um he can't he's in a safe space right right? So listen to that. A certain point during the meal
and see a waitress taking an order
and I found myself wondering
what color her underpants might be.
Her panties.
You're such a boomer.
Odds are they're probably basic
white cotton underpants.
But I started thinking, well, thinking well maybe they're now they are
starting to hate him so much he's like he's in the same space he's something right so yeah but every
time i i hear that like we are in the same space this is what i what i get holy shit but yeah go
watch that movie guys because you're my boy blue yeah you've all blue's dead man oh my god he's
probably in vegas oh we have to do those all blues that man oh my god he's probably in
vegas oh we have to do those fights in that that pool with shit it's not cool anymore probably
because the the baby oil is not popular anymore uh so we don't use that shit but uh yeah uh i
have baron here uh man will we bring will ferrell to to a fest that would be a dream and i know you
have a power to do that, bro.
Welcome here.
How are you doing, man?
I'll text him right now and see what he says.
Also, I think it was lube, not baby oil.
So you might still be good there.
Also, thirdly, I came up because this is the most impressive
and largest amount of flip rims I've seen on stage in a very long time.
So I saw Machiavelli, Showbiz, Dojo hype up here,
and I was like, shit, I got to just hang out
just simply to put another flip brim on stage.
So that was the only reason I requested to come up here.
That's a beautiful reason, man.
And you are in a safe space here, so you can share whatever you want, Baron.
So anything that you'd like to share here?
Yeah, when you play your clips I think to myself how is it possible
that you live on the other side of the world
and I feel like if we would have met
in our childhood we would have been best of friends
because you fucking you have the same
sort of comedy
stepbrothers you don't want to be
going through that list
best magazine to
oh shit I'm not going to continue there.
It's crazy, right?
I don't know how that happens.
All because monkey pictures.
We all get to know each other.
Isn't that fucking cool?
I love that.
It's the best.
And now we are talking here on Spaces.
And we got to see each other in Vegas.
Can you imagine Vegas?
Hell yeah.
Bro, I think i i gotta figure out
how to do an ape trip out to where you guys are out and come see that house with oh shit man
eastern europe's my jam i spent a lot of time in romania i know it's not exactly the same but
that's as far as i've been yeah they'll steal steal a lot of cars there, I think. So it's different a little bit.
Grateful, where are you?
In Prague, Czech Republic.
Oh, I got family there.
Oh, really?
Yeah, his name's Grateful.
Oh, of course!
No, I'm kidding with the cars, guys.
Every ape that's from Romania, hit us up.
It's a beautiful country.
I've been there too few times.
It was so much fun.
It was crazy. And yeah, I was drinking back in the day when I was there. So it was insane. It was insane.
So yeah. Same, bro. Yeah, Bucharest is actually turned into like a really, really hip city.
It's an amazing city, bro. Yeah, it's such a great gastronomy scene amazing places to eat uh very like hip places for
for even for for clothing like local indie brands it's pretty cool it's a really cool city
yeah but i remember a long time ago like you could see like super luxury cars parked in front of very
like uh cheap houses you know and those were all the cars that they stole from Germany and broke. No, I'm kidding guys, I'm kidding, you know, it's
very inappropriate, you know, don't hate me. I'm just kidding, you know, it's fun,
right? We make jokes about Tino's country and he makes jokes about, you know,
yeah, it's all mess, but yeah, it's fun, it's fun. Shit, I'm canceled, sorry guys.
I rename, it's easy, right? I'll be like Prince the second, yeah, I'm cancelled. Sorry guys. I rename it's easy, right?
I'll be like Prince the second. Yeah, I like that name, but a blitz. I saw your hand up go ahead. Yeah Just two quick things. One is
Render times down there. He did say he gave the green flag. He's the artist. He's in the space down there
You can check him out. And the last thing too, I gotta run.
Just gotta go do dev work. But we really appreciate you guys having us on
and letting us speak on the space. And we had a great time.
Deep. Before you hop.
Can you share with us how people can support you right now? What's the best way to support you?
What would help you?
Yeah, just honestly follow us on Twitter.
You can see the pinned tweet up there.
Turn on notifications
because we will be releasing more invites
for the Discord.
Like, we released that tweet.
We didn't think...
We put a hundred to, you know,
give people time,
but it got filled in minutes.
But yeah, we'll have more
whitelist opportunities
and just, I guess,
follow us on the journey.
If you guys have any questions, just hit us up on the Twitter.
And also, we've been partnering with a lot of the big Ape Chain communities.
And so if you guys, if there are any other Ape Chain communities that want to partner up, just hit us up on twitter or even uh yeah just
hit us up on twitter yeah definitely set up your community on a other page you know so people can
also get badge after minting yeah yeah thank you we'll definitely uh hit up nana for that yeah
oh 100 use referral uh greatflap yeah, I can buy a dinner tomorrow.
Thank you so much, man, for joining. Prince,
anything from your side that you
would like to share that we forgot to
Yeah, I mean, just
like Deep said, just give us a follow
on Twitter. That's the best way you could
support us right now. And again, we will
be releasing the game soon for
whitelist opportunities as well.
And we actually do have an Ape meetup this weekend.
So I don't know if anyone else is from Toronto here.
We're going to be going to the Blue Jays game,
watching baseball games.
So if you want to comment, even if you're not an Ape,
hit me up and we'll send you an invite.
Love it. And Icy Board Travel hand up so go ahead and I have one very
important question after this. I came up for the Flipbrim family photo
you know since Baron wanted a lot of Flipbrims up here
and also this showbiz by the way um deep you know prince i'd love to host you guys on our
space as well definitely um amplify you guys because i know you guys are building and definitely
want to support i don't know who you are but uh what what is actually the name of your spaces i
know showbiz is running spaces right uh let me buy your nft but, right? Let me buy an F
It's let me buy
It's the same same name. Okay, very original. Thank you for travel
Thank you so much for sharing that they'll definitely join. Yep
But love it. Love it. You're such a legend man beautiful mutant by the way
Thank you, thank you It just sucks that it has an orange background.
Yeah, I always comment on ape, you know, not the background because I couldn't say it's beautiful. Ape background, right? So, yeah.
I like these ape-lit guys.
Yeah, it's really cool.
I don't know, guys, if you are in touch with NGB or Lost, but definitely do that.
I think it's great to share what you're cooking with the team.
Yeah, we actually had a meeting with them yesterday.
So they had a lot of great feedback.
And we were actually not going to release the games until after Mint. But then they suggested to do it before Mint so that people can see what we're building.
And we thought that was a great idea.
I think the learning is that leaderboards and XP's work.
Like, people love it.
People love compete against each other.
So, yeah, I loved it. I loved it. People love compete against each other. So yeah, I loved it. I loved it.
Thank you so much, guys, for joining.
We'll be joined soon.
And I don't see you guys yet.
So whenever you're here, that's funny, right?
Whenever you're here, just request and I'll bring you here on stage.
That's a really interesting project real photos
uh we've talked about like in this ai era that it's so easy to actually fake everything right
so real photos are solving that uh we're gonna be talking with the team uh we'll be joined by
one of the co-founders also of uh unstoppable domains right is that a name yeah unstoppable
domain so that's gotta be really dope
but before they join us guys i'm really happy that we have so many beautiful beautiful apes
here on stage and i would love to hear from you like how excited are you about ape fest in vegas
uh prince we we definitely have to have uh some amazing all you can eat dinner man.
$9.99 all you can eat.
There are a lot of buffets in Vegas.
I think we should definitely do something.
I know that one of the palms is fucking fire.
It's like $100 but it's fire.
Yeah I think it's
going to be great experience. You great lobster and wagyu and everything grateful
oh nice yeah for 9.99 i think we can get rice pasta and pizza i think what grateful had in
mind was uh you only live once bro you gotta you gotta give yourself a little something when you're
there but you know the continuity from Hong Kong dinner,
what they need to do is basically take Google Maps and filter them
and filter by ratings, but go the other way around.
So, like, from lowest rating and then start there.
And I think I'm definitely joining for sure.
How did we even find that spot, Grateful?
You're just walking around, right?
I actually think someone recommended it to us.
I don't know who, but that place was crazy.
It was something I've probably never experienced in my life,
but it was so good that we were there like eight, ten apes,
and we had such a...
Oh, we were just laughing all the time.
It was so... That's time it was so that's what
i think that's what ape fest is about right like these random non-planned situations situations
that you just don't play it just happens and it's so dope so yeah i absolutely love that and
i think a lot of people were complaining that uh ape Fest is just like for our event, but I think the whole journey is the Ape Fest, right?
Like the way how you get there with other apes, because I know many other apes from Czech Republic are coming.
So we might fly together and then you have all those side events and ComplexCon and, you know, maybe you go to play some games together,
poker, etc.
So I believe it's going to be another banger and we just celebrate the 24th together, have fun.
And yeah, it's going to be amazing.
Yeah, I think there were some discussions also from some people, you know,
if you don't know that many people up front,
if you're not that active on spaces, etc. So, you know, you still have time now, you have several months to
do that. If you don't feel good, comfortable to go on spaces, just, you know, DM someone
and oh man, that made sense what you said on spaces and start talking to people, reach
out. I mean, if you are introverted, it doesn't matter, you're behind the screen and when
you meet that person, you'll see it's the Ape. You have something in common. So
I think instead of complaining, it's better to kind of think about, like as Grateful said,
networking 101. And just think about it not only as networking. We do have something in common.
There are so many amazing people in the club and I'm pretty sure that among those
few thousand people you will find
somebody who has very similar
interests or some
kind of hobbies or whatever as you
do. So just reach out
to people, do that and I think
that's the main alpha
for ApeFest. It's not about the
main event for our event.
100%. i think we
should do some networking spaces before before ape fest for people who wanna you know meet new
apes they're like speed i think exactly and guys i see brett in the in the um on on the stage right
now and we talk about Vince Carter, right?
And that's really funny because he was unstoppable.
Brad is a co-founder of Unstoppable Domains
and also the app that we're going to be talking about, Real Photo.
So, Brad, welcome here. Super happy to have you here.
Can't wait to learn more. How are you doing today?
I'm doing good. Did you guys just say you're 24?
Am I the old guy here oh man we definitely i don't know man like tino is in his like 60s i
would say uh maybe showbiz is in 24 but not us i don't think anyone of us
you good you good you still young even if you are 30s 40s you still young man
oh that's good yeah i, I'm doing great. Thanks for having me.
Guys, if you have any questions during the space, please drop them into the comments.
Read me the space so more people can join us and let's get into it, right?
We've talked a lot here about AI, about fakes, about how AI, you know, basically is changing world
daily because it's evolving so quickly. And when I did a little research about what you're building,
I think it's solving one of those problems, right? So could you tell us a little bit about,
you know, how did you come up with that idea? What is the Real Photos about?
Yeah, totally.
So Real Photos is an app for you to take photos that are not AI.
So the way it works is that you have to take photos with the camera app.
We verify that it was taken from the actual phone camera.
We verify that all the metadata has not been manipulated.
We grab the location from your GPS device.
So you basically can say this photo is real.
It was taken at this location
and it was taken at this time.
And I think this is a fundamental thing
that we used to be able to feel confident about in society.
We used to be able to generally trust that photo metadata was real because it was hard to edit.
It was hard to edit. And we also used to trust journalists, which we don't trust anymore.
And so now we have this new problem and the phone camera is actually a great solution to it.
Because we are in Web3, right? And you are also founder in Web3.
How does blockchain come into play with real photos? How does it work?
So when you take the photo, you mint it.
So when you take the photo, you mint it.
And so we take all of the photo metadata and the location and timestamp,
put it all into an NFT along with the photo,
and then it can no longer be manipulated.
So you basically can say, this thing is real,
and there's no way for anybody to go back and change anything.
and change anything, it's all public on the blockchain.
It's all public. It's all public on the blockchain.
And when you take those photos, what's the use case for those photos?
Is it for journalists to actually prove that the photo is legit?
Or is it Shutterstock, that people can take photos and people can buy them and use them commercially?
It's going to be both, so it's going to be art and editorial which is like what what shutterstock does so they're the one use case is
uh i'm a photographer and i'm more of like a you know artist photographer and uh i want to prove
that i actually went up on that mountain and took the photo uh and the reason why this matters to that group is because it's a lot
more valuable to collectors, buyers, if they believe that it's real. Like the sense is that
anybody can just generate an AI image. There's plenty of extremely valuable AI art. I'm just
talking about photos. Like if you're comparing an AI generated photo versus a real photo.
So that's the use case for art.
And then as you said, for media, journalism, etc. it's going to work a little more similar
to Shutterstock where you're going to sell rights, sell rights to your photos.
And I think this is an extremely good use case for blockchain tech because we will put the IP agreements into the NFT itself,
and then you can just transfer it around. IP is an extremely old, stodgy industry. It's very
illiquid. But just in photos, there is more than $100 billion worth of IP. For video, it's smaller, but it's growing
very quickly. The size of these markets is extremely, extremely large. That's the bet
that blockchains are going to be able to make this a lot easier. You as the photographer
will be able to select how a lot easier and so you as the photographer will be able to select how you
sell your how you sell your rights so let me let me just clarify who's the main audience for this
so uh on one side it's obviously photographers but at the same time it needs to be shot on iphone uh
on iphone camera or uh i i might have misunderstood and on the other side who's the customer of that art?
Is it collections or is it something like stock photos as you mentioned?
So today we're doing just art, we don't have the IP stuff yet but very soon it'll be your choice
like you'll be able to be an art buyer and just buy because you want to be a collector.
And then there will also be the option for photographers to sell IP rights.
And that'll be more like the Shutterstock.
So today just the art, tomorrow art plus Shutterstock.
So right now you're releasing some kind of collections as well.
Or how can people support you? What can they do on the platform?
People are releasing collections and so if you're an art fan you should definitely go and check those out.
If you are interested in the concept of documentary photography, I suggest you check out the app.
You can just download the app. Like you said, it's iPhone only right now, but it will be Android
soon. And we'll also integrate professional cameras eventually. So the goal is for this to
just be a verification layer on top of human generatedgenerated photos and videos.
And we're going to do a whole bunch of things to make it easy for you as the consumer,
if you see a photo or you see a video,
for you to be able to then go back and see if it's real.
And I think that's how this group is probably most,
you know, maybe most likely to use it
as the sort of consumer at the end.
Yeah, that's what I would say.
Where did that idea come from? Like, was there a need? Did you see it?
Are you photography yourself or where is that coming from?
I'm a documentary nerd. So I believe in the power of information and the power of news.
And I've been something of a follower of news.
And I would say over the last decade, news has become just completely irrelevant, unrelated
to the truth entirely.
If you were to go backwards in time 25 years ago, people kind of trusted the news and you
actually kind of felt like you were getting real information. That problem is just staring us in the face as humanity right now.
The idea itself, I was working on Unstoppable, it was 2021 time, and there were a couple
of crypto companies that built these cameras with crypto wallets inside of them, and they
were using them to try to prove that like a oil shipment in Kazakhstan was delivered properly.
And I saw this, I was like, wow, this is amazing.
Like this could totally fix the fake news problem whenever AI becomes a problem.
But AI is not a problem yet, so I think I'll just not think about this for a little while.
So that was sort of the conversation that we had in 2021 was like,
conversation that we had in 2021 was like, yeah, this is going to be a problem at some point in
yeah, this is going to be a problem at some point in the future, but not yet.
the future, but not yet. Fast forward to 2023, we get AI image generation that is now super easy,
and basically everybody in the world has access to it. Fast forward to 2024, and photographers
start posting all over the internet, hey, these are my photos, these are real. These are my real
photos, because there was such a worry amongst
the creators that it was going to be it was going to be confused fast forward to 2025 there's going
to be more ai generated images than human generated images this year we're already we're already having
the ai flipping so i kind of had this in the back of my head for a few years. And now all of a sudden, it's a massive problem.
That's very interesting.
You actually saw that back in 2021, because back in the day when you had a video, like
everyone could agree that if you have video of something that probably happened, right?
You could recognize if it's fake or not.
But these days, it's fake or not but these days it's it's impossible so someone can say
hey you did that uh this and that but you can't prove it because video is not you know it you can
easily fake it so i i think gary v said it here uh during the show we had him like two months ago
that he said that he believes that everything will be on blockchain verified
that you will be able to say hey this photo is real this video is real and it's proved
because most of the stuff will be 100% AI I think that's very I think that's very astute it's um
we're still in this phase where a lot of humans will say, people will say to me, like, I can usually tell when a photo is fake.
And like, maybe, maybe sometimes, but you definitely won't be able to in a year.
So no matter how much you think that humans will be able to solve this problem,
and the direction that people are going right now is they're saying, well, we just need more like analysis tools that we'll be able to spot when it's AI or not.
But guess what? The AI is going to be need more analysis tools that we'll be able to spot when it's AI or not. But guess what?
The AI is going to be studying the analysis tools.
So that is not a winning strategy.
The only way I think you can feel confident
that something is real
is if you know that it was taken from a specific device
and was unaltered from there.
I think that's really the only way to do it.
Love it, love it, man.
It makes so much sense.
In which phase is the project right now?
How early are we?
And what's your long-term goal that you want to reach?
Let's say in 2025 and then 2026.
It doesn't feel so long-term to me.
So we launched today.
We've been in sort of private beta with photographers for the last couple of months.
So we've got about 30 photographers, a couple thousand photos taken so far.
Marketplace is up.
So you can kind of use the basic things. The goal over the next year is to increase the number of photos and then increase the variety.
So the real goal is to document the entire planet.
And we are trying to get photos and eventually videos from absolutely every part of the Earth.
every part of the earth. And I think that that is a set of information that is going to
allow humans to be able to agree again on what's real. And I think that the reason why this is so
important is that we need to be able to agree this event actually occurred. This location
actually looks like this. These people actually did X, Y, and Z. So
like having a large body of photos and videos will allow us to then be able to answer those
basic questions that we used to get answered by journalists or whoever going and trying to
accumulate information and then telling it to us. But in some ways we're cutting the human out here.
There's no more human ability to editorialize.
Right now, you go and you get a report from PBS
and here's what happened,
and their journalists put it together
and they leave out certain facts
and they include certain facts, etc.
But in the future,
you're not going to have to trust people like that.
You're just going to have photo and video data that gets analyzed.
And that's how we get our truth.
That's very interesting.
I remember when iPhone launched and they launched their App Store.
And I could say a lot, like maybe everyone could say that, hey, the future or like in the next five years, apps will be the thing, right?
You will get better apps.
You will be able to have like, you know,
GPS, et cetera, et cetera.
And you could predict that.
But these days I have no idea.
I don't know, you know, if anyone can predict
what's going to happen in five years,
how the world will look like,
because everything is changing so quickly.
It's insane.
Like if you look like,
I don't know when we started actually using chat GPT,
but it changed everything, right?
And the AI photos.
So what's your prediction for upcoming years?
Can we predict that actually or everything's changing so quickly
that you just go with the flow and, you know?
I don't know.
I think there's some hints.
I think one thing i believe is that the ai apps are going to become uh these portals to the internet for us and i'm sure a lot
of people here are already feeling like i can't remember the last time i i did a google search
and so like that means that i don't even i don't go to a lot of websites anymore.
I stay in this one super app that's giving me all this information.
So I think that the side effect of that is going to be that what you're trying to do
as an app builder is you're trying to make sure that your information gets into the AIs.
And so I would love for the AIs to be able to scan the photos and the videos and use that
as information to be able to tell people what really happened.
The way that I'm changing my behavior is I'm imagining ChatGPT might be one of five apps
you use in five years, whereas today you use 100. And so if that's true, then I need to make sure
that the AIs can get access to all of this
great information that I have.
So that's my, I don't know how directly
that answers the question, but that's where my head's going.
Yeah, that makes sense 100%.
It's crazy how it's changing and it would be funny
or interesting to see what's going to happen
with actually websites, if people will use it at all or if it's changing and it would be funny or interesting to see what's going to happen with actually websites.
If people will use it at all or if it's going to be like business card or if it's going to be just to feed the AI, right?
So because I just use ChatGPT to do stuff and I also don't use Google much.
Like I use it like 70% less than I used to like two years ago.
It's wild.
And the AIs are going to keep getting better better and they're gonna get better at giving us links and all that
other stuff so it's gonna it's gonna keep it keep going down which means that
like I think more and more businesses are gonna have the AI's as their
customers that's the other kind of like side effect here that's pretty wild and
it feels very different like if you're trying to make something that the
AI's want versus make something that the humans want like that's a that's a
very different customer so that's just gonna be like a mind-bending mind-bending
trend for humans to get around and humans are gonna be working for the AI's
all kinds of weird stuff is gonna happen
Do you prefer any blockchain for saving the data that photos have?
I don't know if you meant on ETH actually or...
We launched on base.
I'm generally blockchain agnostic, just want to have the best tech for the use case.
I also think that when I'm talking to photographers they want to mint on
multiple chains, so we will enable multiple chains but starting with base
and we'll, you know, essentially we'll add the most popular ones.
Yeah, I think base makes 100% sense. Yeah, guys also here on stage if you have
any questions...
Yeah, Machiavelli, go ahead.
I'm not really familiar with your protocol until today,
but did you see what Sony's
done with their tech, where
it's actually doing
something where it pretty much is like giving
the photo an on-chain identity
essentially for the Sonium chain?
Well, so I'm aware... This might be different than what you chain? Well, so I'm aware,
this might be different than what you're talking about,
but I'm aware of a project
where they're using this standard called C2PA,
which is this like general standard
for like encrypting the photo data
so it can't be edited afterwards.
Is that what you mean or this is something else?
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about.
It can't be edited.
It shows that it's not AI. It proves that it's a real photo. It's like, so is that similar to the
protocol you guys are using for like the IP regs and stuff? Yeah. Yeah. For the, for the verification
part. And the thing that's really nice about this is that over the past few years, uh, there's been
this, like Adobe actually started it because they want to be people said like Adobe hey you are
like causing a huge you're causing the internet to be flooded with all this AI fake photo stuff
because you're like AI your image editing stuff is is so widely used and so they were like okay
well we need to do something to fix it and so they helped organize a group and there's a bunch of
physical cameras that are adopting this standard.
We can build on top of that standard and then it allows us to support, you know, Sony cameras and etc.
So the fact that the camera companies are going and doing this, doing this work is great.
They don't have apps.
So the biggest problem that the cameras have had is they're like, okay, you can do this thing with the photo.
And then everyone's like, okay, well now what?
So like, yes, you can take a photo, but you still need a community around it.
You still need apps to distribute it.
So that's, that's the reason why we started with this like phone camera,
phone camera method.
Like it seems like it's, there's also more people that have phones,
obviously, and take photos from phones.
So I'm bullish on the physical camera thing. And I'm very excited that Sony's done it, a představíte fotovatí z telefonů.
Takže jsem se závětního významu so what i know the the traditional workflow with uh with like professional camera is you take the
photo you import it to lightroom or whatever or photoshop then you edit it and then you publish
it so are you still able to actually keep the metadata that it was edited but not like changed
you know you you edited colors but not the yeah the subjects colors, but not the subjects?
Yeah, so you have an edit trail, so you can see everything.
Right now, we don't even allow edits, just to keep it simple.
You can rotate and do a couple of very basic things.
But we're going to allow very simple and narrow edits,
where you can change the colors by a little bit. There's a gap between what the human eye sees and what the camera sees.
If you want to make it fresher, brighter, prettier looking, that's okay.
If you want to change it from red to blue, that's not okay.
It's a little bit of a fuzzy line,
but we feel like we have to draw the line somewhere,
and then you can see all the data.
You could be able to reverse engineer the photo, for example, based on seeing the hits.
Yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
Do you also think that maybe Apple itself will implement something like that into the camera?
It's possible they could do it with their own camera app.
So it needs to be an app because like the camera,
you get hundreds of apps get access to the camera,
like we have access to the camera.
So they would have to decide that they care enough about
this to add it to their flow.
Maybe, that would be great.
Then we would probably be able to just use
the regular phone app as a way for people to take photos
and add photos into the ecosystem.
So I would see that as a positive, but I don't know.
I'm less convinced they'll do it.
I think the social media apps would potentially
have an interest in doing it.
But they have this other incentive which is fake content goes viral.
There was a super viral photo of the Hollywood sign in LA burning in the middle of the fires last November,
and hundreds of people showed up to the Hollywood sign to watch it burn,
and it was fake.
And it caused all sorts of confusion online.
I think Facebook and Twitter made money off of that.
I don't think that was bad for them at all.
It's bad for society, but it's not bad for them.
So, it's not obvious to me why any of these big players would go and solve a problem like this.
I feel like it's going to be more powerful if we come and we create a standard that's universal.
Every single photo gets a stamp, proof of reality on it.
My hope is that in a year's time,
you'll start to see that around on the Internet and you'll start to recognize that.
When you see that, you know,
hey, this is a real photo and you can see that across all of your social apps. And so that's really where
we're trying to go. We're trying to make a single standard that starts to become recognizable.
And I don't know, that feels like a startup problem. These big companies, they don't go
build these entirely new ecosystems very often. So I don't want to wait for them to do it.
What's your business model there?
So it's a marketplace and we're selling editorial rights.
So whenever you sell a photo, whenever you sell rights,
we take a percentage, 10%.
Got it, got it.
And you mentioned that already photographers or journalists were testing it.
Do you have any interesting feedback, like something that maybe you didn't think about,
but people gave you that feedback or use case? Yeah, I mean, we were like constantly talking
about how like, look, this is so amazing. You can verify your photos. They're real. You can
finally tell your audience they're real. And They're like, yeah, that's great.
This app is so easy to use and it's a lot easier
for me to just take a photo,
edit, mint, list all in one place.
So you just saved me,
instead of a 15-minute process,
it's now a 10-second process.
So I'm going to tell all my friends.
So that was the thing that I think got them
more excited. And I would say that was a little bit of an accident. We were originally looking at
trying to integrate with the physical cameras. And we were like, this is too hard. This is going to
take too long. We should just make a simple phone app and see if people like that. And so it wasn't our intent to make this like super easy way to do everything.
I mean, it was our intent to make it as easy as possible, but we weren't thinking that was the
value prop. And that's what that's what artists told us. Tino, any questions from your side or dojo?
I see your hand.
Go ahead, man.
I was just going to say, like, the second I heard it immediately as an artist and photographer,
it was exciting.
And to do exactly that, take your picture, mint it all in one place.
And also, yeah, with everything coming, like, with all the AI coming out, I feel there's
going to be an appreciation for stuff that's real.
So the fact that it has that logo, you know,
that's going to be a good thing, an identifier.
And, yeah, I have a bunch of unstoppable domains,
so it's good to hear you building, and thank you for coming in.
I appreciate that.
I appreciate that, yeah, taking a second run at it.
Yeah. I'm just checking the photos on the, on the app. Uh, they usually go like here, 0.029 ETH. Uh, yeah, the same here. Uh, you, you launched it today, you said, right? So what's the best way for people to start using it?
If you're not a photographer, you should just check out Real.Photos
and see what's being created.
It's stuff from all over the world.
There's a whole bunch of rare cultural events that are being captured.
There's a bunch of places that are far-flung and places you probably haven't seen. So as a sort of documentary enthusiast,
there should be something there for you. But that's really like a buyer's marketplace. So
for people who are interested in editorial rights, if you're a photographer, you should take photos.
If you're neither of those things, you should basically look out for that
proof of reality stamp on the internet. And then you can say,
hey, that's real. And I remember some guy on a Twitter space is talking to me about that a while
ago. If you are a photographer, is there any application process how to get in or
everyone can get in right now? Yeah, everyone can get in. You can just download the app and start
for who gets featured. You know, we're kind of, you know, we're curating, you know, kind of,
you know, professional-ish, you know, professional photographers. But you get a collection page so you can do your thing, you can sell no matter what.
Tino, any questions from your side? I know you also have been working with many photographers.
Yeah, I'm only thinking because it's always, it's funny with photographers and not only photographers.
And whenever a new kind of technology comes, they, you know, like there tends to be, I don't know, some kind of opposition against it.
So with a film or analog turning into digital, then, you know, Photoshop and, you know, there are those hardcore ones that, oh, I'll never use Photoshop.
And of course, they...
So, I mean, as you said, it just got me thinking because basically those big corporations,
they have no incentives really to tell you whether it's real photo or not. And even with Apple, I don't see it either because
they even have the
integration
of the cleanup now inside
the camera app, the edit, which is
pretty amazing. And my mom was
showing me that she basically
has zero people in the
sea from her summer vacation because she
was just flying on the beach
and editing the
photos right inside the camera app which is totally crazy I believe and those people just disappear
from the beach and you have an empty beach basically and I really feel that for creators
and I know many of the people who are kind of known they have troubles with the deep fakes or people doing
some kind of stuff about them. And, you know, later on, basically, as you mentioned, the AIs,
they will not be able to, or, you know, like, it just becomes a fact because it just goes viral.
It just becomes a fact because it just goes viral.
It's a video of you, which might not be you.
And I think you're solving a really big issue for many, many creators.
Of course, starting with photographers.
But I think there are so many others that will need something similar.
So I'm sorry for my little thinking thinking out loud but it just got me thinking
a lot and i uh i really feel that uh that we are fucked i think we are fucked so thank you for
for doing this so i uh i completely agree and i i need to figure out a way to properly frame that
to the world because like i don't want to say, hey, use my startup, otherwise
our shared objective reality and human society collapses. But I do kind of believe that,
honestly. I think it wouldn't be motivating to go back and start from nothing and build another company if I didn't think that there was something really wrong
that needed to be fixed.
And yeah, I really think that we're close.
I think we're maybe even a few months to a year away
from this point where we're really going to be confused.
I mean, I see it all the time on Twitter
where people are like, that's not a real photo,
that's not a real video.
And people are just sitting there arguing back and forth.
And they're arguing about a fact.
There is an answer to that question, but there's no way to know.
And that feels like the 1950s, before the internet or whatever, you had to be like,
is the population of this city 100,000 or 200,000?
And then you and your friend just have to argue because there's no way to get to the answer. That's how I feel like we're at right now with AI and it doesn't
seem sustainable. So yeah, so I don't want to be like, I don't want to be a doomsayer.
I think it is possible to fix. And I think that because we all collectively need this to happen
so that we can maintain our shared objective reality,
that that might actually help propel a startup.
That's actually a good set of circumstances for a startup.
People who are not me really want this to work so that we can maintain this agreement we've had as a society
over the past few hundred years about what's true so uh terrifying and exciting maybe for the same reason
plus there is one more thing that uh that there is blockchain technology which is already kind of
here and and uh you you're just using it in the in in a way that it's it was probably meant to be used so I completely agree.
Thank you for saying that I feel that way too and I'm a little bit of a I'm a little like I said I'm a little old so I've been in crypto for a while started building in 2018 started following in 2014 and I definitely.
I definitely thought that this is more the kind of stuff we were going to be doing as a community.
I thought we were going to be verifying all kinds of important information.
I did not think that we were going to be animal coin trading and then new tech for how to animal coin trade better and then new tech for how to perp animal coin trade better.
That is basically not what I thought we were doing over the last decade.
And so my hope is that this will resonate with people who, I'm not saying your animal
coins are bad.
I like animal coins too.
It's just not what I want my entire life to be.
And I hope that this can stand out and maybe that'll actually help it get some momentum
because it feels sort of like a little bit of like OG crypto
rather than like modern 2025 crypto.
I think it's possible that journalists or photographers,
they will have like a verified profile
and whatever they'll share,
you'll see that it's real, it's from them. And
if someone shares it and say, Hey, it's from this guy, it's not going to be verified. Right. So
it has to change because as Tino said, especially with celebrities, it's so much easier right now
to fake everything, right? Like you can do whatever you want. You don't have to have any kind of Photoshop skill. You just type it and it's going to happen. So it's wild. It's crazy future.
And it's also exciting, as you said, because it brings also a lot of upside for creation
and everything that's happening, you know, learning, coding, et cetera. But it's wild.
Brad, what are you most excited?
We talk a lot about AI.
Is there anything that you are really hyped about
that's happening right now?
You just mean in general in the market?
Yeah, I would say in general.
In general in AI,
if there's something
that you are really like wow this stuff is great and it has a it has a bright
future I mean I feel like I'm gonna say the same stuff that everybody would say
but just having built companies and multiple and multiple different points
we don't use very many people anymore so like we don't have a front-end engineer
we don't have a designer I'm engineer. We don't have a designer.
I'm non-technical. I do all the pushing to the website. I do all the deploys myself.
We only have one engineer doing the work of what was previously three or four engineers.
We're generating all of our own marketing copy through AI. I know this feels very mundane now,
because you've
probably heard it from so many different people,
but it is completely different to build a company now,
and it is absolutely delightful.
The most empowering feeling ever to be able to just,
it used to be like you wanted to build something,
you wanted to build anything,
any simple app and you got to debug 400 different things.
Now you can just press buttons and it'll just make it.
I don't know. There was so much boring stuff
involved in making a startup before.
Hiring and the HR and the assembly line,
the thing goes to the designer and then the front-ender,
and then the back-end engineer,
and then it goes into QA testing and all of this stuff, it felt like we were
moving in slow motion. When I moved to San Francisco in 2012 and I saw how apps were
made for the first time, I thought there's no way this could be it. This just feels so
ancient. Now it's finally like reality works the way that it feels like a tech future should have.
So I just, I don't know, it's hard not to be excited about that.
Yeah, that's the main thing.
That's the main thing.
You know what I mean?
Crypto is moving along.
Crypto is coming along.
Crypto is a little more mature now.
So it's kind of funny.
Crypto is sort of like the mature industry looking down at AI quickly catching up.
I think that feels like a good thing.
But crypto is more in this institutional phase where it already has its narratives that are
working and it's now distributing them.
AI is in this inventing completely new stuff phase.
AI is still inventing NFTs.
It's in that phase.
So yeah, just keep watching.
You're going to be wowed.
Oh, even with the AI image generation thing,
I've been trying to edit images for the past nine or 10 months.
So every three weeks or something, I would try.
I would just drop an image in ChatGPT,
see if I could do some stuff, it wouldn't mess up.
Finally, like two months ago, I just randomly tried it
and then it just worked.
And it's worked every single time since.
So like just in nine month period,
it's gone from like, I used to need a photo editor
or a Fiverr or something like that.
And now I do it myself. You're gonna to have a feeling like that every six months.
And then in two years, you're going to have a feeling like that every month.
It's just like literally the wildest time to be alive.
Great points there.
I think for founders, it has to be a game changer
because from idea to actually execution, it's so much quicker, right?
And, you you know delegating
to people and waiting for what's come and it's not what exactly you wanted now you can you can
play with tools and you can figure it out by yourself which is awesome and for photographers
like the whole process is still so you know you you shoot your photos into raw then you you have to
your photos into Raw, then you have to upload it to your computer, edit it, then export.
It's crazy.
So I can 100% imagine that maybe in the future it will all happen in camera, but it can maybe,
you know, upscale the photos and do all that crazy stuff.
So it will be complete game changer.
And it's already happening, as you said.
Deep, you just joined.
Do you have any questions?
I just joined in the middle of the conversation.
But what Brad was saying is really interesting.
I remember I first saw a lot of the AI image generation stuff
maybe six or seven years ago when NVIDIA had a demo.
And it's crazy how fast even like after a few weeks or even just like you mentioned
vibe coding as well and how, you know, it's changing.
Even at the company I work for, designers, developers are getting laid off everywhere.
So it's kind of scary times, but interesting times as well.
Awesome, man.
We've been hosting this show since February 2022.
And it's so crazy,
like what we talk about in 2022
and what we are talking about now.
And it will be funny to look back next year and see that everything happening, you know, and see what we are talking about now. And it will be funny to look back next year
and see that everything happening,
you know, and see what we predicted
and what we didn't.
It's really exciting time to be alive, guys.
I think it's very exciting time to be here.
Also like the healthcare and AI,
it will be insane too.
Brett, is there anything that you'd like to share
that we maybe forgot to ask
you, or again
if, how can people
what's the best way for them to support you
right now in this phase?
The best way would be to go and
go and check out the real.photos
website, if any of the artists
and their works compel you
please buy and support them and if
you're a uh if you're a photographer please try the app and then the last thing is is look out for
the look out for the editorial rights phase look out for like that's that's the big market so um
Amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. I think it's really exciting. It's solving a real problem.
So can't wait to see and watch closely what you guys cooking. Tino, any questions from your side?
No man, all the best luck I pinned to the top. I think there is a little bit of a how can people go through it where they can where they can find it so please do that and all
the best luck man I really appreciate you guys taking the time here today
it's really great thank you so much man and yeah I don't know if you there are
so many amazing artists in web 3 you you... There are so many amazing artists in Web3, you know. So we have so many amazing artists in a BAYC community.
So I don't know if you're planning to also work with a project
to onboard new people.
I think that that would 100% work.
It would love to.
Thank you so much, man.
Have a great day.
And guys, definitely check it out check the pin
tweets it's a it's a first pin tweet here so yeah thank you man appreciate it bye everybody
bye brett thank you bro speaking of ai we have forgotten the the biggest breaking news in the
beginning of the show what is that it's uh another banger prompt by infitor
am going pretty viral yesterday oh my god that lego one guys that's pin it up because that was
really good one really nice one so after i did the plushy one i i was uh kind of struggling to find
one that because it does good ones for me, but usually when I test it with different apes, it doesn't come up really well.
And finally, I kind of polished the Lego one, finally yesterday, and it, I mean, it's really cool to see all the apes.
So if you go to the tweet and see the quote tweets and see all the apes, it's crazy.
I was just retweeting like crazy yesterday.
So guys, I haven't seen many of your LEGO minifigures yet.
I haven't seen Showbiz, Machiavelli, Dojo.
I haven't seen Byron, I don't think.
I've seen Batteed for sure.
So Gatsby, Hoarder, so many legends in the in the audience Mimo I've seen Joyce but uh so many
of you haven't tried it yet so uh please do that uh it's pretty cool to see uh like you know just
just kind of uh fantasy that what would our club look like if we are like figures what would it
look like if we had plushies and so on. And I really love that. And it was pretty funny that it went nuts again yesterday.
Man, I can imagine that you create this 3D render and you ship it to the factory and
they'll make it out of it, right?
Oh man, 100%.
100% that's gonna happen that's not even you don't even know it's it's happening already so
That's going to happen.
That's not even, you don't even, no, it's happening already.
with my kids brand uh i got a plushie made out of uh seriously just a 2d illustration just 100% and
uh a friend of mine who was running a startup with plushies of rappers so he was doing a like
a the ip with them or for them uh they were doing it basically from a photo. So with this,
it's like a game changer because
you literally give them a 3D
artwork, they just copy and
it makes everything so
simple, man.
It's just super simple right now.
Love that, man.
We are, like, it's insane.
Guys, other space should be there
in 23 minutes, right?
So get ready.
I believe it's going to be another banger about other side
and what's happening in the space.

The birds are father, the son, and the system of the earth.
In the middle of the universe,
that wild is just first coming, sixth time rehearsed, for freestyle, but I ride it like
sex, beneath the screens controlled by the fiend, what does it mean, all the shit I'm
seeing, you're only being screaming, smoking, gambling, signs of a local brother unraveling,
no wonder you got my ass running, with crisis and all this crisis, ain't saying never doing Let's go, everybody.
Have a great Thursday.
See you next week.
