research firm for all things crypto in Korea they've had some recent big big
announcements and their excellent content has crossed over into the English CT side

to check it out because it's top tier of research so Charles could you come up and
just give us a quick introduction about yourself before pillars I try to
participate in this event and really are to do this so basically about four
pillars we are a blockchain research firm that does in-depth technical
research and we do a lot of research in the infrastructure side and the ecosystem
side so in terms of that we think our return is a project that is really doing
well in the altitude space so we are trying to work closely with our return
in that aspect so really great to have and congrats on launching our return
Korea oh and basic intro about myself I'm a product lead and a researcher in
four pillars
awesome thanks thanks I think so say is back with his mic or if he's not then we
can just move on to um one of the VIPs that we are very very lucky to have with
us today I think all of us in the space know this project little project called
ZTX and we got two representatives from ZTX we have CJ the co-founder and
Karma the head of marketing including us all over crypto Twitter so could you
guys maybe come up and give us a quick introduction of course I'm gonna kick
this off and just to check my mic because I had some trouble joining but I see some
hearts so I assume you guys can hear me alright thank you so much for having us
on here today and I'm karma head of marketing and community at ZTX I wish I
could participate in the Korean part of the AMA as well but I am one language
short so I will be here to answer all possible questions in English about our
community building and more and for sure an amazing initiative on the
arbitrary side and the really amazing you know step towards extending the
community into Asia at large so very excited to be here today yeah very
excited to have you with us I remember that you were the first person I reached
out to from the project side and we got our initial talks going so hopefully that
can pick up steam in the upcoming months and I can't wait to work with you

feel so bad I say I interrupted CJ before he could introduce himself so
let's let's just throw it back to the official ZTX account so we have
everybody from ZTX here thanks karma yeah hey guys I'm CJ co-cio co-founder of
ETX yeah happy to present ZTX and I'll be part of this yeah I think karma

thank you awesome great to have you CJ oh yeah so we will then head back to
don't leave the only could you give us a little intro awesome hello my name is
don't leave yeah and yes head of partnerships that nifty kid and quick
info about nifty kids that's a no-code NFT platform for creators and builders to
build a project in minutes and it's completely free so you know reach out to
me if you have any questions regarding that but yeah I'm very excited to be
here because we have a variety of ecosystem options like the arbitrary one
and also Nova and I've been in this space running Korean NFT and web radio
Korea mainly an effort to connect between builders creators and platforms
about the rest of the world and Korea and so this for me is a very exciting
moment to see and be part of to have this conversation and to be able to see
the arbitrary community grow in Korea so I'm definitely excited to be invited
here and thank you so much for the arbitrary team for initiating this but
yeah thank you for having me it's our pleasure don't leave so the next guest

narrative in the crypto market so my job is to deliver though Korean projects or
the project we want to spend their business with Korea and then we will
have them to deliver the right message to the market so yeah thank you for

you for inviting me I'm so say it's pretty it's working as a partner in
Russia for the buyers every product it's an honor to be a partner right from
Korea we will do our best to make arbitrums that's for entry in Korea
thank you fantastic thank you for taking the time to join us so um now that you
guys have a bit of background on our all-star cast we're gonna dive right into
a roundtable discussion on all things Korea crypto and Arbitrum so I'd like to
pass the mic off to our head of BD and Korea John to give us a little bit of
insight into Korean crypto BD and the Korean government and how he sees the
policies impacting crypto and web 3 moving forward yeah thanks thanks for
the overview I think I just want to give a quick sort of overview on what we look
for from the builders and potential partners in Korea as our foundation and
what we are going to focus on this year and I think a lot of people might have
noticed especially from our arbitrant grant program that we have a heavy heavy
focus on the taps especially from late last year to the beginning of the year
and the reason why I think your focus is that we definitely want to see more TVL
and more users are being very active on the arbitrary ecosystem and and I think
that we want to continue down that path from the PD perspective and and then
the opportunity is wide open to anyone who is able to you know bring such
impact whether whether you are a solo builder or whether you are a group of
builders building together strongly urge you guys to think of you know applications
that my other you might think would add value to fellow crypto enthusiasts and
agents and more on the enterprise side we are trying to onboard larger
enterprise clients or partners on arbitrant because I think enterprise large
enterprise still do have a strong sort of leadership within their particular
vertical as a technology leader in Korea especially and then they do have a
larger impact in terms of putting web 3 or giving web 3 are more legitimacy in
the in the in the in the eyes of the general public so we striving very hard
to establish more partnerships with the so-called web 2 Giants this year and in
terms of vertical are you're super excited to see now moving towards
launching a special special program for gamers and game builders called game
catalyst program that's up for that proposal now and that's basically a
twenty million dollar program that's going to be supporting the game ecosystem
in our bedroom and I think this might be one of the largest L2 initiatives in
the gaming space and this especially is very very important for Korea as
Korea is considered as one of the key markets that's been beating gaming
vertical globally and as you might know most of the Korean top gaming studios
to have some sort of association with the web 3 if not they've already started
building their own mainnet as well so I think overall Korea is going to be very
very significant in for arbitrant this year with the gaming taking our center
stage and in the arbitrant dao and arbitrant ecosystem and I think we will
be even more aggressive in avoiding builders this year and I think
Alex here has been working with a number of university
blockchain clubs on the ambassador program as well and and those of you who are still
in the university listening I urge you guys to definitely apply for the
arbitrant ambassador program is a great program to learn about our
arbitrant as well as you could apply for you know different roles within the
program so it's a very very exciting time to be a student and ability at the same
time so there are a lot of opportunities for ambassadors I definitely urge you guys
to take a look at them and moving on to more on the you know the policy and how
we sort of look at how I personally look at where Korea is heading in terms of
web 3 policies and this is definitely not you know official kind of comments from
government or anything like that it's truly observations that I've been noticing over
the years and I do believe that you know comparing you know I couldn't help myself
compare like Japan and in Korea in terms of whether policy web 3 policy has been
set forth by the government and definitely our Korean government is I think a little bit
more conservative in terms of setting up a framework for crypto industry as a whole and
and I think this is obviously to protect
the general public retail investors that might have been burned by the last
sort of crypto winter that came with the fall of the Luna and FTX and whatnot
but you know I definitely want to see them to sort of
to have more efforts or at least try to do more in understanding blockchain as a technology
and what are the you know benefits of the technology and using crypto basically and
I think there's a limited lack of efforts as compared to Japan and
I think we could I think I really encourage our policymakers to suit benchmark Japan in
terms of embracing crypto as not as you know financial instruments or just as an
asset but as a technology to be utilized first for the greater good of the society
and also I think I'm one of those people that want to be regulated and and I think
regulations are good maybe not good for people who are born into crypto but I think it's
good for people who are general I would say general retail investors general public
that's looking into crypto we definitely need protective measures to protect them
and you know long run I think it helps the entire industry to grow and one of the
one of these initiatives that but I do notice in Korea is like especially in Busan
I think Busan is a city with the mayor park and others are trying to create a list
blockchain free zone as per se to have a sandbox where they can like you know
extreme different policies and also create a ecosystem for builders to build in a safer
environment to test their product within a regulatory framework and
and last thing that I want to sort of mention is
there's been a lot of issues on the taxation on the crypto assets and everything
I'd rather have tax schemes be settled faster than there I think it's this is sort of a big
overhang for the entire industry as an investor as well so you know knowing when the tax is going
to happen taxation is going to happen and how it's going to be applied in a clear terms
is much better than putting that in a gray area where in terms of the crypto asset classes
looked at as something of you know like something that you know you shouldn't touch or look down on
so giving crypto and equal status as you know other asset class such as you know securities or
gold or any other commodities is I think extremely important and I think tax is a tool to do that
to embrace that as a proper as a normal asset class and I'll just like to open up the discussion
to anyone in the speakers to you know share their opinions
yeah thank you john extremely informative high level thoughts when you speak on these things
I think that it's worth a listen given your vast years of experience here I think closing
in on nearly a decade touched on so many verticals so if anyone from town wants to
chime in on any of the points that john just made feel free to just take the mic
can I can I talk yeah I'll take the mic um thanks thanks for your talk john and I really appreciate
it and I really strongly agree on the side that um I strongly agree with the vision that Argystrom
is drawing in terms of actually really collaborating with the web2 giants making
real use cases of blockchains in it since I wasn't blockchain I wasn't blockchain for quite a long
time but what I realized a lot is that a lot of the technology here is great it's not being
implemented properly in different kind of fields um well that's what our company is also trying
to do since we are a web2 and web3 consulting firm so we kind of connect the web2 companies into the
web3 fields and what we realized is that currently a lot of the web2 companies and the web2 giants
and the web2 people around the space is actually jumping into the web3 space to actually test
their theories to actually do their pocs and to see how blockchain technology could actually
benefit them and to be honest for now I think this it hasn't like blossomed to be honest but
in my opinion in Korea it's starting to happen and well we could talk about the security tokens
we could talk about other companies actually doing their pocs to actually break the
centralization of the supply chains that's happening supply chain structures in korea and
stuff and well I hope to see this more in korea and really hope to see arbitrum actually getting
the step ahead in korea for compared to like other blockchains or other projects to actually show
the Korean people that blockchain is actually making real world differences in different kinds
of spaces thank you for your input I completely agree on all the points that you made and I think
funneling some of the input into more tangible and sustainable output is the next step and one of
those verticals that we at arbitrum are specifically focused on is of course gaming so arbitrum is I
if I may say so myself the the home of DeFi I'm going to make that loud claim and we've been
blessed with having so many DeFi protocols call themselves arbitrum call arbitrum their home
and the next step is um gaming which is um something that we're consciously focused on
and then when you cross that with uh regional expansion efforts that we're making into Asia
particularly um the markets korea and Japan I think that's um really where the next step is
and speaking of that we have one of the premier gaming projects from arbitrum here ZTX who may be
able to shine some light on how their um project has been panning out they've made some very very
exciting announcements recently so if um karma or cj could come up and uh give us a little um
intro on what's what's been going on in your camp
all right I'm gonna I'm gonna start off I don't know if you can hear me all right there seems
to be just so many problems at least on my end um just like um on the audio side please do let me
know if I'm interrupting anybody um anyhow so yeah um ZTX for those of you who might be listening
and you know are just discovering our project we are building a multiplayer uh world a metaverse
if you so want but we are much more than that we are building a platform for people to engage
based on the success of our web 2 counterparts the petal which is you know like a very very
well known web 2 type of a immersive gameplay platform um so for me personally you know it's
like as you may as you may hear I'm not natively Korean um so it may be funny for me to have the
first word on this but to me it was actually incredibly surprising and um interesting to go
to Korea and discover just how much more web free literacy and blockchain awareness there was in
Korea as compared to you know England as compared to many European countries where I you know like
lived and worked through the majority of my career so it was an incredibly exciting part
for me to start working at ZTX and start interfacing with audience who you know we are
talking about onboarding here but I just on my end was surprised and overjoyed to see how much
more awareness there already was in Korean community I think so many of the Korean communities especially
on the player side um are quite excited and quite you know positive towards blockchain technology
at least more than some of the other European counterparts and that's certainly something we
are leaning in on the ZTX side and I'm sure CJ you will have even more you know thoughts on this than I do
yeah so uh yeah like definitely like you know regarding uh
like Korean like ecosystem and like you know crypto like you know uh our community like
swinging is super big definitely the big uh opportunity here especially Arbitrum um
like a lot of big youth community here and they are especially this kind of a game community
definitely need uh some technology like Arbitrum with the uh community joining this uh exchanging
all these digital assets so yeah I'm like really excited to uh like see this the whole come through
yeah you guys are um building something special I feel like and I think we're gonna have
a chance to touch on this more um later in the space uh so um let's move on to maybe um
a more fun topic for some of the listeners out there and that would be uh Korean retail
um I think that uh it's definitely on the radar for many um I don't know if you guys follow
Osaka Wolf on Twitter but he mentioned in November of last year that um a bit was the first major
exchange to recover volume to the 2022 levels um and so that despite all the setbacks I think
enthusiasm um for crypto has never really waned significantly in Korea so would any of the guests
like to share their thoughts on um K retail where it's at where it's going anything that
we should do better etc.
uh okay um cool uh yeah um I mean to add to what I just previously said uh like a lot of people are
looking at you know um app store rankings for um other exchanges in other countries like Coinbase
for example um and those rankings in Korea also have come back to the fever pitch levels that
we have seen from previous years so I think um it's really something that we're trying to focus on
to funnel some of that um into the arbitrary ecosystem and create an environment where um
it's welcoming it's sustainable and we can all um advance blockchain together in Korea so
that's something that we're really consciously trying to work on this year and some of the
people here up on the space whether it be projects KOLs writers or BD guys were all part of the big
puzzle so very very happy to um have you guys on today in the space so I guess um we'll almost
conclude the English um part of the space I'm just gonna do a little bit of um arbitrary PR
before we move on to the Korean part so um the first one up would be Arbitrum Arcade it's a
12-week long campaign it's the sequel to last year's Odyssey which features the vast gaming
ecosystem and Arbitrum and every week we feature about three projects and have content creators
featuring them on their channels our community experience the projects first hand and see for
themselves how Arbitrum in addition to being the home of DeFi is also now leading the pack in
web3 gaming um ZTX was featured there last week to great reception and we're on week three now
so guys check it out please um the next item is the Dancun upgrade of course everyone has
heard about it I'm sure um the gas fees have been drastically reduced via blogs and we've not only
really benefited from this tremendously but offchain labs the initial creators of Arbitrum
also had a direct involvement in the design and implementation of the IT for the 44
so you can check definitely check out good coverage on that on youtube and twitter
um the next item on the list would be the ambassador program which John has touched on
earlier uh it's seen immense growth and we're really only in the phase one of the rollout
featuring college students well many of them have done really amazing work all over the globe
and are really the future of blockchain industry so we're um really trying to get the the youth
involved as well for um along for like a long-term vision and I'm very excited for phase two
um I can't quite announce what it's going to be like but um it's dropping soon so be on the
lookout um the next item I would like to touch on is um the grants program that we have
where projects we're looking to deploy on and contribute to the greater ecosystem over here at
Arbitrum you'll receive really like comprehensive support on all verticals um including regional
marketing support from me media support from John etc you know for the Korean side and of course
um the networking effect from joining the leading out to the ecosystem so if you're interested please
don't hesitate to shoot any of us a dm on any of our accounts and we'll try to get back to your ASAP
and finally um we have the Arbitrum DAO which is one of the shining examples of decentralized
governments I think that's working well in crypto uh we really do have like uh like a
self-functioning ecosystem of people who deeply care about Arbitrum through proposals discussions
experimentation etc um they're they're the ones that really are in charge the foundation is more
like the arm or the leg to the brain of the DAO and um our job here at the foundation is to assist
the DAO in just being the best version of itself um so if you're interested in governance and if
you're interested in um in having a having a say in shaping the leading out to please check
out our DAO forums and um we look forward to seeing you there so that would conclude the
english part of the twitter space um I hope you guys enjoyed it um picked up a few things about
korea and now we'll be switching over the language to korean so uh yeah
Thank you very much.

I'm sure a lot of people here can understand English as well, so if you can talk about
no more about regarding the Town Hall, that will be great.
Yeah, I'm happy to jump in and share a bit more. From just scrolling through the listeners to the
space, we just have an incredibly diverse community here, a majority of which does speak English,
so I'm happy to be able to join in on the action again, guys. I think in terms of the Town Hall and
updates on ZTX specifically, what we really put a lot of effort in is building in public,
and building in public as an ethos is, to me personally, one of the most exciting parts of
building in web-free, in blockchain, in general. So if you actually just click on ZTX official
account and scroll through our posts, just a week ago we hosted a stream of over an hour where
members of our team shared updates and behind-the-scenes looks at in-progress builds from
within the game, which showed the multiplayer city of ZTX, which is upcoming, a preview of our
district and mini-games, portal games, much, much more. So I think as we build out ZTX,
what you can imagine this as a product to be is a preview, a beta, something that we continuously
expand on in many, many little steps. But as we do those little steps, we always share with you
on Twitter and Discord, and we are fully open to feedback every step of the way.
So yeah, I would say on the marketing, on the community front, the ZTX Town Halls are for me
one of the proudest accomplishments when it comes to open dialogue with the community.
And I would love for everybody listening here to check them out, give us their feedback,
and would also love to see more games do open events like that. We do a Town Hall every single
month, and if you haven't been at the ZTX Town Hall before, I hereby invite you to the next
one in April, where we will share even more exciting previews of the game.
Awesome. Thank you, Karma, for that wrap up on everything with your Town Hall. I think it was
very well received when you guys published it, so we're happy to support you every step of the way,
both on the regional front and on the main side. I think that cuts it off with the ZTX guys,
so we're going to switch back to Korean.
Thank you so much for watching. I hope you guys enjoyed this video, and I hope to see you next time.
