And yeah, exciting to see all the projects joining all the very talented people I know from latin america joining in this ama
And for sure all the urban arts here. So so yeah, good to see you all
Now sasha, how are you doing? Hey, hey i'm doing really well excited about this
Ama and looking forward to
to discuss all the opportunities that that we can have in latin america and
Yeah, I talked to projects that already got the grant. Yeah, really exciting. Thanks. Thanks for having us
Perfect thank you so much. So I see some of the projects have started to join the space
I'm gonna give it a couple more minutes and
While we're adding them up here to the speakers. I'd like to just start off by setting the table. So we're here with
One inch and arbitrum and i'm representing get coin and basically we want to discuss
The the projects that participated in the gg19 latam round which was
Funded in part by one inch and arbitrum
We as get going we're very grateful for your partnership in this and allowing us
To help use our platform to fund public goods in in latin specifically, but you know, we're also
Uh looking at other regions that we want to work with in the future
But for this space specifically we're going to focus on latin america and the impact that's being created there and
Before we jump right into the conversation. I would love for
Both of you now sasha and anna to introduce yourselves and tell us what you do at your respective organization organizations
Yeah, for sure. Thank you very much carlos. Of course this this round was
Very meaningful to me because i'm from latin america. I am an acumeni manager
At the arbitrum foundation. I'm from mexico
And yeah, well i'm in charge of
A helping and creating comes for the arbitrum in account, but also arbitrum in spanish and and yeah
helping with the efforts on community building in
Yeah in arbitrum worldwide, but also
Arbitrum in spanish and spaniel and and yeah in places like spain for sure latina america and some
Thanks a lot. And um, so my name is sasha
Also known as the dao sasha i'm here with one inch
And one inch i'm responsible for the partnerships on the marketing side also
Uh collaborating with other communities and uh, i'm a big fan of latin america culture
Also, orgwein several more countries
Last year and I see a lot of potential in these markets
And uh, we with one inch wanted to boost the growth of d fly there. So
Um, that's why i'm here basically
Perfect and I am carlos. I work at git coin. I help. Um, I help our
Funding partners have successful grant rounds and I think we did pretty well with this one
I am going to jump into some questions
That we've had uh with support of chat gpt
So the first one is how do you see the current trends in d fly within latin america?
And what is what are the unique opportunities that this market presents for platforms like arbitrum and one inch?
I like can start because actually i'm asking
to create those questions
What i'm like, but it's really something that we need to discuss
Uh during my visit like i'm sharing my experience during my visit
Uh of several countries I can see specifically like in argentina because it was with argentina last year. I see that
Using the crypto and the crypto is very popular thing there but not for not defy for some reason
what i'm seeing is that maybe some kind of education, uh is missing there because
Yeah, because maybe not so many content not some people not do not understand what is different difference between
the next trend will be switching from
Custodial or using them in parallel, uh to self custody
solutions and I hope those projects who
Joining us today will will help us to educate the communities and uh, yeah invite more people to
Basically defy but also on cheap fast
Yeah, this is like what i'm wanted to
Yeah, for sure I totally agree with with sasha like education is uh, it's a very important
That is needed in latino america and I and I I know that
Many people here that are that are here with us, uh are facing and are helping to face this because they are creating content to teach
About crypto of the about the web tree ecosystem. Um in the latin in latin america
uh, and yeah, another thing that is super important to mention is that
uh latin america receives a
billions of remittances like uh, I just google it and uh, and it's
155 billion were received in 2023 of remittances
And each year is growing like 10
And yeah, like most of the people or families that are receiving remittances are using a
charging like between five percent no like between four percent to my sometimes 50 on fees
We all been using crypto we know that you can send any amount
Especially when you are using arbitrum, you are paying only
To send crypto. So yeah, like
Imagine like if if these families were using crypto for receiving the remittances this means
Increasing between four percent or even 15 or 16 percent their income
Uh, so this is this is huge like this is huge for for the family. So so yeah, this is a very important thing to
Highlight that I wanted to highlight
Yeah, I think those are great observations I can attest from just personal experience i've been sending remittances to
Honduras i'm from Honduras since I was a teenager
And it's it's such a big part of the gdp as well. So almost
25% of honduras's gdp is actually coming from remittances
So that's people that have left the country to pursue better opportunities
Uh as an immigrant are actually contributing more
monetary value to the country than a lot of the native industries and we are
You know for a long time we have been absorbing those those fees to just
Have peer-to-peer exchanges and this is a huge unlock that you know tooling that's created technology
that's created by one inch and an arbitrum, um allows for for more liquidity actually being
You know retained by the users and I think that's such a such a
Something that we've been sleeping on a little bit and I think that it's just there's a lot of
Regulatory issues that are involved with this but little by little I know that we're making progression also in the us
I read a statistic that uh, it's probably a little bit outdated but
25% of the adults that hold crypto are latinos, right?
So like if you start bridging if you start connecting those dots, you can see a lot of value that could be
Um, that could be saved with the technology that we're building here. So i'm really excited. I'm really grateful
for for what both of your organizations are doing to help kind of
Bridge bridge these communities bridge this liquidity bridge this value and and empower the people on the ground
They're actually working to help create
The adoption locally because it is
It requires people on the ground. I think just the bandwidth is not there for you know
Get coined for arbitra for one inch to go and do all this work there themselves
So leaning on local communities to be able to do that is just very powerful
So we do have a lot of these projects that participated in gg19 here present
I just want to throw out some stats
5 000 that we distributed in the arp token this last round and that was split
Uh a dozen projects that's just
So so powerful and i'm so excited to see what these projects are going to be able to accomplish with that
So I am going to open up the stage for some of these projects to introduce themselves
And tell us what they're working on but also tell us how they plan to integrate one inch and arbitrum specifically
Through their projects or through their initiatives. So I will start off with uh, krypto connection
Hello everybody i'm Anna Lopez from krypto connection i'm the education leader
Uh, first of all, I want to thank you all of you
This space to talk about this initiative is really really important for us
Because well, I hope that you all know, uh, who are we krypto connection? Uh, we are
our objective is uh, you know to um
Empower to teach all the people that are
Who don't know anything about krypto or know something about krypto, but want to improve
For this reason is really important the tools that are written and one inch as carlos has said before
that are helping people in latin america and all over the world to
You know to to use krypto and all the remittances that we have
Are helping so they are really really useful. I think that you have people who
Don't have this problem in in our countries i'm located in madrid in spain and perhaps
We don't know how how important are these tools for for a
Some people and they are really important. So that's why we are involved in this initiative. Uh, what we are doing with these
Arbiter and one inch opportunity is we are developing some program some programs a few programs
In spanish and portuguese to guide people in this defy all the defy because
We have realized that uh, as I have said before some people they know what is defy
But other people don't know anything. They don't know what is defy the acronymone even they don't know what it is
So, uh, we are building some tutorials. We have learning parts, but we are building more in spanish and portuguese
Comprehensive tutorials i'll have said before in different levels
For the latin american audience and we are also working in a pilot in porto rico
The pilot is a four-week online pilot with 15 students and we are focusing on defy concepts and practical applications
Helping people and another initiative that we are working with other
With the national banklets and other communities i'm sure that they are going to share more about that
Build a grant for developers to train them and to show them the power of these tools
So as you can see we have a lot of things that we are building. So
Yes, we have a lot to do. Thanks
I love the emphasis on using the funding that you're receiving to be able to forward it for developer training
That is something like we we oftentimes talk about, you know peer-to-peer use
And educational as far as just creating communities and showing people how to have how to use the technology
So hands-on experience and then the next layer of value is actually upskilling the people in our region
Right so that they can start building solutions for the region based on their experience. It's really difficult to ask
Someone in new york, you know or someone in europe to build solutions for your region without them knowing what those realities are
and also, you know, maybe
Having people upskilled and being able to join the workforce in the industry
They can then penetrate those organizations and start creating solutions from within so like you don't have to be a founder
you don't have to create the next version of one inch or things like that you can potentially join these communities as as
By joining the workforce, right?
So this is the type of training that I think will really help accelerate the impact that we create in these regions
Thank you so much for all the also I want to point out
It's so amazing to see all the collaboration that happens between all of these projects
I know that a lot of the grantees have participated in gg19 actually have been working together for a long time
So it's really cool to see that continue continue
And um before I jump to the next
Project, I want to ask everyone that's here whether you're on the stage or in the audience, please retweet this space
I would love to get uh more people to join in here because I don't know there might be some alpha towards the end of
So, uh, it would be cool to have to have everyone join and hear about some of the other things that we have cooking up as well
And also just learn about the projects learn about what you're doing potentially they can
Join your community and contribute value somehow or they could be inspired about what you're doing and maybe kick off the same thing
Uh in in their region, right? So
Uh if they're in minnesota if they're in minnesota is a project that I know personally and i'm very excited about the work
They're doing specifically because there is such a high adoption rate in
Venezuela and there's so much potential there to be unlocked and I know I think it's mercedes behind the account. I know mercedes
personally, and I know she's uh doing a lot of work to make sure that
We create more meaningful adoption in the country
So mercedes, please join us and tell us about your project
Tell us about yourself and your project and how you plan to integrate one inch and arbitrum moving forward
Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well mercedes here. Thank you for the introduction carlos
Um, so ethereum minnesota is basically the ethereum community in venezuela
We were branded after devcon 6. We actually were ethereum caracas
but uh, we decided to name it venezuela because we wanted to
Foster the adoption across different regions in our country
So right now we we are working with people outside of caracas and outside the
central space of our country to kind of boost their communities and their projects
So last year for us was an amazing year. It was the first time. Uh, we actually participated in it around
And what we're planning this year is to collaborate with other projects
like crypto kuriosa and proof of integrity and crypto connection and hopefully what to reach and
And of course arbitrum and one inch to kind of foster adoption across the country
Of the year we are going to have some uh solidity courses
Um, we are also doing some onboarding in vulnerable communities
We're going to be working with proof of integrity and local NGOs for that and one of our main goals is to actually
incentivize the communities to learn how to use tools like one inch
to to start interacting with
So basically there's a huge rate of adoption in venezuela and a lot of people ask me about that
But the thing is that the general adoption is mostly referred to p2p markets
so what we want to focus on is on teaching people how to
Use web tree as a leverage to improve their lives
Uh interact with web tree tools
Uh after they onboard their money in p2p markets, basically
So they not only like use these markets as a saving method
off-run their money to one inch and to
protocols in arbitrum and in other layer 2s so they can booster
The the their opportunities basically so right now we are focused and I love what carlos mentioned
We are focused on giving people the opportunity to grow and to network with other people in the ecosystem
and to eventually and hopefully
Actually last year was a great year for us because most of our volunteer team ended up
2023 having a web tree job
And I think that speaks well about our community. So we are small
We are not the ones making a lot of noise
But we are working hard to find opportunities for venezuelans living in venezuela and venezuelans living outside of venezuelan
to the ecosystem basically
So we're going to be making
Crypto introductions. We are going to be posting some content about it
But besides that which I think everyone's going to do it
We're also going to focus on vulnerable communities and how to get these people on board even if they don't have like a
PC and a pro knowledge of crypto
So that's that's the real barrier there and that's what we want to focus on
And we also have an interesting project coming along with activists
so right now this year is an electoral year in Venezuela and the human rights activists are going to a tough
situation since recently the government actually
basically tried to illegal the work of NGOs in Venezuela and wants to start like auditing
their finances basically to repress the
NGOs working here and and working in vulnerable communities
So we're going to be doing something with them to kind of help them on board and keep their operations secure
Basically during these tough years. That's going to be really defining for our countries
basically, so yeah, happy to collaborate monica everyone happy to see you here guys
And please reach out to us. We are again if you want to collaborate or do something. We're always open
Do the things and we're going to be working closely with metapool as well. So that's going to be interesting
Amazing thank you. I'm always I'm always so happy hearing about the work that you're doing Mercedes
Thank you so much for your contributions to the region and for for the industry and and helping us create meaningful impact
Where it's not just based on speculating on
Um, i'm gonna mix up the questions
Uh for for one little bit before I go on i'm gonna have questions for dasasha and for anna
But before i'm going to remind everyone to please retweet the space
And these questions are relevant to the tweets that i've pinned above
So I would love for both of you to tell everyone that's here that that's participating how they can get more involved
With both of your communities through governance where to go. So I I pinned the
The forum for arbitrum and i've pinned the one inch dow link
So if you can just tell everyone that's here like how they can get more involved and and what are the benefits to getting more involved
Yeah, for sure, maybe maybe I can start well with the arbitrum though
There are many ways to get involved. Uh, one way is
in the sense that if you are
You are like an active member of the dow
Giving ideas commenting in the chat on other proposals, uh, yeah giving feedback
Etc. Another way to get involved is just to
Vote on the proposals you see on a snapshot that are off chain and then on tally that platform we use for on chain on chain
Voting you can you can vote there read the proposals and then vote another way to participate is
When you don't have enough time to participate to actively read the proposals and vote
You can also delegate your tokens. It doesn't mean you have to give your tokens
It like you're only delegating them using a platform called tally you
It's a smart contract for you to just delegate your tokens, but without taking your tokens away from from your your wallet
uh, so yeah, you you choose one person I delegate you do
And another way to participate is to become a delegate
Or as well a new way for you to participate is that right now in the arbitrum though, there are
and these working groups are
Requesting new roles or for example, they're out there also as well like
And sometimes they are requesting like new roles there for a that are like jobs
Where talent is needed? So so yeah, you can get paid for that as well
Um, so yeah, basically the first steps for you
To be more involved in the arbitrum though is firstly like go to the arbitrum foundation website
And arbitrum portal website for you to get involved with the ecosystem
I'm going to share with you some some
Some extra threads for you to read more about it
But yeah to read about the constitution about the arbitrum though, then you will have to create an account in the governance forum
There you're going to find all the proposals that are there you you can even
Create a proposal like if you see something that is missing in the arbitrum ecosystem, you can just go there
and and share your idea and
And yeah, even get funding from from the arbitrum though to to make it happen
A you should join the the arbitrum though weekly calls
I'm going to share here with you the link too for that for that you can
You can add it to your to your calendar, but yeah, there are many calls happening
So you can join to the calls and then start contributing giving your ideas participating etc
And yeah, I think that's that's a great way to to start. I think in the beginning can be a little bit chaotic
Like three years ago. I started in in daos. So in the beginning it can be a little bit chaotic, but
Uh, don't worry if you are interested in participating in the arbitrum though
Just let me know and I can help you out. I can guide you and for sure
We need more delegates from latin if someone is interested in becoming a delegate
Please let me know we are having a session for this next week
To onboard more people from latin america to the arbitrum though
In general as a contributor or also to become a delegate
And what are the benefits of being part of the arbitrum though or any doubt that is
Is building the ecosystem? I think is um, well in this ecosystem, we need more point of views
Uh more point of views and and we need to
share about what latin needs
If if we don't have voices in this ecosystem, uh
We are not going to see more products or more initiatives that are
Focused on on latin america because every region is different. So yeah, we need to to push this
And yeah, we totally need more talent building in the in the arbitrum though in the one inch though
And get going etc. So yeah, we we really
Need this. So yeah, let's make it happen
Yeah, thank you and actually basically everything that and mention we're actually doing one one inch
I've just shared the link to our twitter, uh, which is one inch doubt twitter where we usually are sharing all the
Last uh proposal that we are publishing on the snapshot. So you want to vote if you want to
So the one of the things that you can
Contribute to one each dough is to vote on our snapshot
Also, you can have some discussions or you can actually post your proposal in the snapshot
Everyone is welcome to suggest their ideas
Um also second thing is uh, or join our discord, uh bi-weekly calls
announcing all the news and activities in commonwealth account as well
Yeah, all the rest just if you need anything in terms of the
Answer your questions, um in telegram or in twitter
Um, yeah, just join us and let's keep our web3, uh industry decentralized
It is the when you're joining us. It's the only way, uh to yeah grow and
Thank you so much to both of you for
sharing all that information I thought was very important to share that because
I need to highlight that the funding for these rounds happened through governance, right?
So it's it's cool that you can go you can get involved with these projects. You can get involved with the communities. So
Um, uh, sasha guided me through through the whole governance process so we can apply for this and then plurality
Benefited from funding to help fund this as well
and I thought it was just really important to
Share that but also it's important because I know including myself actually
Have gained employment in the industry by being an active member of the community, right?
So by participating in the community, uh, if you contribute value if you continuously add value
that actually has potential to lead to a
Uh a job within that organization if it's something that you're aligned with if it's organization that you like you use the products
Like what better way to get involved and I think you wanted to say something
Yeah, one person I just wanted to highlight too that I started that way to like contribute into to a community then
contributing to different those building communities and yeah totally agree with you with when
Giving value to the community to the world at the end is 100 a
Get recognized it for that for sure
Awesome, so i'm glad we got that in here
I thought it was very important to share that and I would like to go to another project that participated as a grantee
Um modular crypto, can you join us on the stage? Come off mute and tell us about your project
Tell us what you're building and also tell us how you plan to incorporate
One inch and arbitrum into your project moving forward
Hey guys, can you hear me?
Yes, loud and clear, okay, thank you
And so nice to meet you all i'm so glad to be here. So thanks for having us here, too
So i've have already had the joy to meeting uh in person, but it's a pleasure to meet you all here
Um, i'm gabby. I'm one of the founders of modular crypto
Uh, we are a publicly good project in brazil that aims education
and boosting the brazilian ecosystem crypto community, so
Um right now brazil, uh is in like
in I think in position number seven in the global ranking of crypto adoption
And also brazil is the largest country in latina america
But unfortunately right now because of the language, I think we are still trying to integrate with the rest of the latina america
And we are very focused on this since
That we had the pleasure to attend last year. So
Right now brazilians like the other ones
Mention are still more focused on investments and when we talk about crypto
So our main goal is to to bring in deep
uh educational content about defy governance and updates about news and other things
Like arbitral optimist and other ecosystems right now. We are focusing in ethereum ecosystem
We are also trying to educate people about other ecosystems too. So
We are very very very very glad about the one inch and arbitral
Round in git coin. It's very difficult for maintain and
Make it sustainable. Uh public goods project
and we are really trying to like
um give the brazilian people and educational content that are free that are
and because we have a lot of influencers right now that are like
Asking for like no like it's a paid content. So we are trying to reach out more people and educate these people and
We uh, we like every every week we have uh
A lot of things so we have a daily podcast that we talk about
All the updates about arbitral one inch and ethereum ecosystem. We have two
YouTube lives for week. We are
Still like trying to get more people more brazilians in governance too. So
This is our focus too. We are trying to
create new delegates and trying to like
Capture the attention of these decentralized protocols and projects for brazil because I really think that the presence of layer 2 and other projects
Are still very very very low in brazil. So this is our focus. We are trying to
build a public good project of free content
and help more people educate and get educated and
Anyway, i'm so happy to be here with a lot of great projects that
We are looking to since last year. So
Yeah, if you have any questions feel free to ask me too. So
Thank you very much carlos
Sasha and all the guys that are here with us
Thank you so much for sharing about the work that you're doing in brazil brazil is such a
Key market, I think as far as the the potential that it has and i'm very excited to see
What you are doing there as well as crypto connection. I know crypto connection is focusing in brazil as well
We've had some chats about projects that they're working with there. So maybe there's a collab opportunity between you two
And I am going to go on to the next
Project, I see we have shawn here
An opportunity to come up on stage i'd love for shawn
To share a little bit shawn in zero eight
um share a little bit about uh, the match the match the matching project that they had through plurality labs and
Again expressing appreciation for the the opportunity to help grow this matching pool and fund more projects
And fund them better with with more
And let's move to mex web 3 tell us about your project. Tell us about what you're building
And tell us how you plan to integrate one inch and arbitrum, uh into your project moving forward
This is mobrizio from the mx web 3 account mexican people know me as mexican
Uh, first of all, I would love to thank
Uh one inch katkorn arbitrum and everyone that made this round happen
I know there's a lot of people involved in in deciding
To do something like this and to spread that amount of money, which was uh lifeblood to to our project
And i'm sure to all the other 11 projects that we're participating in this round
Appreciate what you're doing
We are in monterey. We're in monterey mexico. It's the northern part of mexico
It's a big city here. A very industrial city. There's a lot of companies big
Multinational, uh worldwide companies that have started here. There's a lot a lot of money and a lot of people
We we last year that we had an event called blockchain land here in monterey that united
More than 3 000 people that organized. I think it broke the guinness world record
Of the biggest bitcoin class ever
Uh, I we a group of people here in monterey decided to to start doing something building a community
Reaching out to people that want to learn about this technology and since then we're doing thursday meetups
We meet every week. We talk to people about technology. We talk about projects. We we have founders of projects. We have
Nft collections. We have people that are doing
defi that are doing gaming. It's it's it's been amazing and uh
We just recently opened the
An office where we want to host
These spaces these weekly meetups, but also training
talking to companies talking to to people and having an office to work from and to help projects that want to
build here in monterey, so
It's it's been tough because we have to pay the rent. We have to pay
The light the water or everything that's needed to run a place like this and uh, these rounds have helped us a lot
what we plan to do with the
Well, not the money received with average room and why don't you start?
Inviting people to use it. I think it's super important for people to to to be able to start using on-chain tools
One of them that we're testing right now
uh, and i don't remember the people that uh,
Put this out there, but they did open code for retro pgf rounds. So we're
building one in our bedroom
To start paying people that are helping us
Setting records on chain of the work that they're doing here in the community and uh
Giving them tokens. Maybe it can be money and maybe it can be a local token
so we we need to use more the tools that are available out there and uh
Definitely. We're gonna add some liquidity in one inch another tool that i'm using a lot that I that I
Recently talked about in one of those meetings. Uh, in fact last thursday. We talked about it was twitch descriptions the descriptions is a
Centralized tool that is using average room to sell and buy and sell tokens
Looked into it a few weeks that it went out there and we started using it with launch a token
And and we're having now volume in average room
with this token recently our
Soon they're gonna build a bridge. So all those tokens we're gonna bridge them to average room start
also teaching people about
Adding liquidity. I think it's very important for people to use these tools and start pressing buttons and
Start finding issues and and helping other people that are having issues solve them because it's not easy really
for somebody to to to to get all the
buy one token and buy another and
Download a wallet and put them together in a pool and then
Put the it's a process that we are
Fun ways and and and innovative ways of people to to import so using tokens local tokens
given liquidity distributing tokens to participating in in
The dow process the governing process I think it's super important something that we learned a lot with metapole
The gig coin round that we did with them was that they also wanted people to use the tool put liquidity
But also participate in the government on the decisions that are making
Taking place in these protocols and and being able to do that with average room and one inch is something that i'm gonna
Really look into maybe anna. I would love to be a dealer. I know that don pepin for example
That's another member of the community here in monterey
He's looking to be a delegator
So we're going to delegate tokens to him or maybe I can also be a delegate
I would love to participate in one of these processes
And not just me also invite all the people here in the community to to start deciding where these technologies go
I think it's super important that
These technologies allow us for for for many things to do whatever we want, but we also need people doing that and deciding and
Giving their opinion and maybe leading teams and something like what anna and you're doing carlos
Tools that may help us solve very very cool problems. So
That's something that we were are going to do here in the community
We're working with with with a lot of blockchains. We are working with our universities. We're working with companies. We're
Recently started talking to local governments. So that's something that
We're looking to integrate with one inch in order to because uh, I think there's a huge world of prosperity not in america and uh
I've seen this money flow here
Many projects are going to start looking for that help and start building and I think we're going to
See a big big boom of local mexican latin american projects start working with this. So, thank you
Thank you so much for sharing all that you're working on mexican one one thing that I want to highlight that you said
Well, actually two things
One is I I love the idea of you
Using some of the funding that you've received through through grants to create a retro pgf
I think this this is such an important concept
For continuing to fund other projects that maybe aren't in the position that you're in and
That is actually a perfect segue to nesion benkles who has actually been doing this for for quite some time now
Uh with the funding that they've received
one other thing that i'd like to highlight that i've seen a lot just from from the getcoin ecosystem when
We've done citizens rounds, which is basically the rounds that we run to fund
The individuals or teams that are creating value for our own ecosystem. It's really cool to see them take
Part of that funding and say oh now I have the native governance token. Cool
I'm going to delegate it to myself and then become more active in the ecosystem
And with that i'll i'll leave the i'll leave the stage for nesion bunkles
GM gm. What's up familia? How are you?
It's really great to be here i'm really really happy to to stay
again with carlos and with anna with all the people also mexie and
Monica that it's also over here. And yes, just we're very grateful about this opportunity that
Arbitrum and also one inch are giving for us
And we have like a lot of plans to do with with this the first plan
It's something that already has been mentioned that we are going to
Set around now for getcoin, uh and for arbitral we are delegating
ARPs from our treasury also crypto connection is going to also give us
200 ARPs to uh to this round and mx web tree is going to give uh to give us 100
ARPs, so we are going to run this this initial
Arbitrum getcoin round for developers in latin america. We are we are looking to
To set the first round for depths for uh for community
applications inside the arbitrum because we were looking to publish our
newsletter our videos inside the arbitrum ecosystem, but we don't we can find like the tools so
I think that this is going to also uh, like
Like get more traction for the people and also the communities to start like publishing and using
Gaming and also the defy ecosystems that it's a really strong
Like a really strong uh edge inside the the arbitrum ecosystem. So
Uh, we are going to also publish eight newsletters
Four from arbitrum four from one each that are related all to governance. We also uh, like a talk with
Angela ocando that is also a delegate for arbitral that is going to write about the governance for
Arbitrum and we are also going to purchase
Some tokens of one inch to start also our metacobernance protocol inside one inch. So we are very very
With governance, so it's like our uh, I don't know that like our presentation card
That we love the centralization also governance decision. So this is something that we are doing also, uh, besides the newsletter
We are going to uh also having a banner inside
Our newsletters that actually we are meeting inside
Inside another chain, but we want to mint it
And this is going to be like a little surprise in what in which we are also actually working and uh, also we have like a
15 15 seconds, uh in uh presentation inside our videos. This is already running
Since the first of january if you can see it in in our youtube channel and also inside our paragraph actually
We have a lot of work also
We're going to to make three workshops about governance our delegation and also about gaming
to know about stylus about
Doing some application inside the arbitrum ecosystem. So yes, we are running
We are running a lot of things. We are running newsletters. We are running gitcoin experiences
And also we are going to develop how to use one inch and how to use the governance
Uh system that we are already having also
We are looking to to use our portfolio
Uh, like application for uh for one inch that I think that is the better and the most
Like crypto friendly that it's already in the in the market. So
We're very happy. Also i'm very excited
Just I I want to to transmit this energy to all the listeners
Thank you so much, i'm uh, always always a pleasure to hear what you're working on
I've been following you for a long time. I watch I watch the youtube videos as well, and I
Want to take a moment now to pass the microphone over to sean sean
I don't know if you were here for for the beginning of the space, but we were we were expressing our gratitude
To you and the team at pl pleuratively labs for allowing us to tap in
To a little bit more funding through your matching program
Um, do you want to come up on stage and tell us a little bit more about yourself?
What plurality labs is and what led to this additional funding and how?
Eligible for that. I I hear maybe you've got some alpha for february
Guys, I my apologies for some reason there's so many things happening in arbitrum
It's almost it's almost a full-time job keeping up with all the different things are happening
I saw this one. I'm like, wait, what I I gotta get in on this one
So carlos, thank you so much for just allowing me to jump in real quick on this one
And I gotta tell you is that I mean
For alby labs the team that i'm with we are here
Because we believe that dows are going to change the world, right?
And we believe that the way that dows are going to change the world are
Not getting all the rest of our crypto friends into crypto or the using all of our products
But it's to bring in the next three billion crypto users
And where are those three billion crypto users going to come from?
I mean some are going to come from north america some are going to come from western europe
But they're going to come from latin america or they're going to come from africa
They're going to come from asia and we need groups like latin to help bring
crypto to these communities that are currently underserved which is why i'm super excited about using these communities that are popping up and
Bringing using tools like quadratic funding to help communities grow on their own
I just want to go off on that and guys see guys
I really appreciate the work that the latin team is doing and I also appreciate the way that one inch leans into the ecosystem
And says look we've got some arb giveaway
Let's give it back to the community and let's let's give it in a way that we can use the communities
To build upon what we're a little bit of seed funding and just continually carlos as you were mentioning
Give it back into the community and we get that next generation of builders the next generation of
People who've got the great ideas who can build for the communities
That's going to bring those next three billion users in so guys I
Thank you carlos for the quick shout out and I appreciate the chance to come in here and talk about that folks
We have got been experimenting at plurality labs with a ton of different ways of allocating resources
And for giving grants out to communities that need it
And I think zero eight has done a fantastic job of leveraging the gitcoin tool the platform the team at gitcoin for
I think we've run like four different gitcoin rounds now so far. I don't know. I've lost count of how many there are there've been but
It's exciting every time that I find out of like hey, there's a twitter space that's happening
I didn't know about that. That's that's awesome that this work is just it's growing on its own
It's sprouting its own legs and it's taking off and folks
It's it's it's communities like this that are going to get that next three billion users into crypto
And arbitrum is where I want them to come build. So that's why i'm in arbitrum
And that's why I appreciate the time that um carlos that you're giving me here
To all my friends a lot in america guys. Just just knock it out of the park. I appreciate it guys. Um
Carlos that's all I got for you
That was so much, uh, do you have alpha about february? Is there something happening in february?
So we still have grant money matching grant money to give away and it's short period of time
Which is coming up in february. So if you've got
Um a community that is ready to launch your own round in a really short period of time
Reach out to zero eight right now. You can see him in this chat
Quit send him a quick dm because if you've got a community in latin america that needs to run a quick round
He's you're ready to do this to you because there's a ton of people in this call
Reach out to him and we'll see if we can get something coming up for you right away
That's what I can share. There's some other things I can't share just yet, but carlos. That's what I got for you
Guess what dude? They are here. They are here with us. It's nasiya banklets a crypto connection and a mx
Mx web 3. Yes. Yes, exactly. So let's get this lined up. Let's give away some more arm
Rest in peace to zero eights inbox
I'm ready to send that message and and also we got like a very grateful
Message he said yes. He said he's going to to help us. So thank you. Thank you for that alpha
Yes, i'm already sent the message to him
Also shift a little bit here
I know we're running we're running out of time
But I I just want to point out that this all of this that's happening. It wouldn't be possible without
people like sean like zero eight like anna now sasha that are
Uh thinking about like actively thinking about how to contribute to this region how to contribute to the to the builders
And also all the projects like you're all working on the ground making this happen and opening these opportunities not just for yourselves
But also your your communities, right like your local vicinity. So, uh, much respect to everyone that's doing this
Yeah, I just want to say thank you carlos. Actually we met last year and then I saw how many effort you
Um to actually expand and to make some noise around the latin america and I really appreciate your help
It was huge for me because last year was very
busy and you helped me a lot to
Actually make this round happen and I really appreciate
Uh our bitroom team and you that you decided to join and make it even bigger
It's really a huge sign for us that we're doing something great
And let's just keep doing this and I want to say all the projects and getting the grants
I don't know. Maybe carlos. You either create the group separately or maybe discord channel
uh, we will be happy to help you to
Create the quantum we can we can share you the details on our products. We also have a contributor from
uh from argentina who can help you to
Not only translate but maybe share some details in your time zone. Sometimes it's a bit
Difficult to stay synchronized, but just um, really i'm really excited and let's keep growing this industry and
specifically latin region and bringing DeFi specifically but
Anyways, that's really growth itself
So to wrap this up, thank you so much sasha I wanted to share a little bit of
Alpha I think for the for the funding partners that were participating in this so for polarality labs
I think needs a little bit of help in the grant space and we as a region
Are looking to to create a solution for so this is accountability from grantees, right? So, uh, it's it's
It's very difficult to keep track of the impact that projects are creating after receiving these funds
And this is one of the reasons why you know, we were able to put this group together
We do have a telegram group where we are working on this and we're actually going to be using
sample what it looks like to try and track the impact created by
The recipients of this funding that way we have a clearer
I don't I don't know if roi is the right term for it, but a clear
impact metric or impact measurement after the funding has been received and I think that's because you know,
Latin America is is so diverse in the type of work that's being done and also like regionally geographically
It provides a great sandbox for experimenting with this and i'm really excited about this
We're going to be doing uh impact metrics
We're going to be doing case studies, uh as a result from this round and I think that this is going to be
sample size to be able to be
Adapted to other programs maybe like bigger programs from from bigger dows and bigger organizations and maybe around uh different
funding opportunities in other regions and I
Feel, you know very fortunate that we're in a position to to do this in latin america
And and thanks to to all the funding partners for making this happen
Confident that you'll be pleased with the results just because I know a lot of these projects personally
And I i've seen the work that they do firsthand
And I I really appreciate everything that you're all doing to to help
Them move the space forward in meaningful ways in their regions
Uh, so to wrap it up. I know we're two minutes from the top of the hour. I'll let you
Have the mic anyone that's on stage for some closing remarks to wrap it up and be brief, please
I see women business here too. So wondering if they will they will oh i'm so sorry. I'm so sorry
Totally miss women this yes women this please tell us about your project. Tell us what you're working on
And tell us how you plan to incorporate
Ooh alan, I am so sorry. I did such a terrible documentary track alan, please tell us
Well, okay, first of all, thank you very much for inviting us to learn in this space i'm alan i'm giving voice to open web
Dedicated to will and to fund projects on web tree right now focused on Latin America. Uh, also within
A relationships with another communities around the world
Um, I think that I want to came back really quickly to what you mentioned at the beginning
Why it is important to start building. I think there are
like two main points that I can recover on that the first one is
We understand how hard is to not be the owner of your economy and depending in their paris of being
For being banished your economy and we can mention this by example really quickly
Argentina and all couple of countries that faces very constantly how it is
Do not manage in your own economy
The second one I think is
regulatory advantage for first time in history, I think we have an advantage that
Is not being unregulated in something and this implies that we can start working without
Start worrying about regulators
And it's more easy for us to start getting involved in doubts in defy
In staking in in many other things that start for countries that are
Let's call it non-profit. So based on this we decided to
Based on this and in other topics, we decided to start open web academy in open web academy. We have a history since
where we dedicated our team to start teaching about
Web3, but based on our own methodology that implies building
petition and ipn on the top and example of what we will be doing for this funding that is
creating both components using the
stack of launching operating system to develop
the centralize of running
For one inch that allows people to use defy
Using these decentralized tasks more than that
We dedicate it to use all these resources of what we develop to start making
documentation about the process about the code about everything that we face it for that and to use it for teaching on our
workshops and our boot camps that are
Shared with other developers so they can take advantage of what we already developed
Uh in spanish and so they can start building to
Making their own projects on what things so that's basically assumed. I don't want to be more longer
Again, thank you very much for the support here
And I think we will stay stay close to the last update of one inch and arbitrum to be more active on the consist
Thank you so much. My apologies again for for skipping you there. I was trying to close it right on the
Uh women biz, do you want to join us? Can you uh, come off mute and tell us
About what you're building tell us what you're working on and tell us how you
Will be integrating both one inch and arbitrum moving forward
Okay, maybe while women biz joins I will um
Share about other projects that participated that weren't able to join us here. So one is mico
Estadero, which was actually one of the communities that I on-boarded
In partnership with mercedes from from if you're in venezuela through web through beach
And i'm so excited for them because they have since grown to be their own autonomous community
So it's not like web through beach, venezuela. It's their own community. They're doing their own thing
They're owning their own impact and their participation in the ecosystem has allowed them to tap into funding
uh resources as well and continue growing their their community
They have been able to start a school in their community. It's like someone the the the lead at this community basically
Opened up her home to create an environment that allows them to educate their kids
That allows them to educate their kids in the community because they haven't had a school since the beginning of the pandemic
Educators there get paid. I believe it's 50 a month
and that no, sorry, they were getting paid five dollars a month plus like a bonus from the government and you need
You need 108 of those salaries to be able to provide basic income for a family of four, right? So
um because of the funding that they are receiving now, they're
able to experiment with with defi tooling and
make impactful use of the technology and they've made
They've been able to get gather some attention from the local community to the point where the mayor is now talking to them
Trying to figure out what they're doing and trying to figure out how they can participate as well
Someone else earlier said that they're they're you know in in conversation with local officials as well. I think that's
huge potential that's where the real unlocks happen where
These local communities are creating so much impact in ways that local governments either
Are unable to or unwilling to
And then once they see that this is more than just like speculative
Assets and and you know gambling on whether the price goes up or down they see that this is technology
That can actually create positive impact. I think this is where we start getting
Uh more like friendlier regulation. This is where we start seeing
countries in in latin america and african asia where there isn't so much red tape actually open up and see that hey
We can open up to this technology and allow for them to basically solve the problems that we've been unable to for a long time
This is amazing. Let the let the citizens do it
these shadowy super coders
And and nerds all over the world uh funded
So i'm really excited to see that and i'm not going to go too long on on web through beach
Basically, we're trying to replicate that concept across different places. I started working with bigger
Uh impact organizations onboarding them through impact and i've also started talking to government officials in different countries
I can't get too much into that right now, but i'm i'm really excited
That's what we do at web through reach and we're also very thankful for for the for the opportunity to
To get funded through programs like this. So thank you so much. Now. We'll wrap it up for real unless
Women biz wants to come on
Maybe women biz is having technical difficulties, but i'll let uh everyone that's on stage
Just say their final words say a quick goodbye and we can wrap up the stage just to be
Conscious of uh, everyone's time. I know sasha is pretty late where you are. Anna
I know you've been on calls and spaces for a long time today. I want to be mindful of your time as well
Oh, thank you very much carlos for hosting this it was an amazing
I totally admire what you do. So congratulations for you too. And thank you everyone who are
Building in the in the ecosystem in the arbitrary system the one inch ecosystem and gitcoin
Thank you very much. And congratulations for everything you do is super inspiring
And yeah, if you have ideas
If something is missing in the arbitrum dao or in the arbitrum ecosystem, please
Reach out to me or if you think there is a need of a grant grant
A new grant program you can also build it
There is a proposal in the arbitrum dao for you to create your own
Like your grant structure so you can you can you can get funded for that and and yeah
Yeah, yeah i'm ready to share that I really thankful and grateful just once you see
Um, what a what will be the results of this uh ground and again, thank you carlos. Thank you. Anna
Thank you arbitrum team. Thank you one inch team
And um, yeah, if you have any questions, um, i'm um, yeah, i'm always around
And uh also not only me but our team
Thank you sasha. You're amazing
All right, everyone it's a wrap. Thank you so much for joining us and we will see each other in the
In the grantee group to keep working. Keep making an impact. Thank you all. Bye
