Thank you. Welcome everybody to another Artsy Friday.
We're going to get things set up here.
We've got a couple songs for you.
We're going to start here in a moment.
Make sure to retweet the space and really looking forward to our guests.
We'll get them up here soon. To fire up the day, let's go ahead and start off with, we have two opening
tracks because one of them is short, but just too sweet not to feature. Our first track that we're
going to be playing this morning is Infinite Realms by Retro Manny featuring Go-Go Lytus.
Make sure to follow the link when we pin it because, wow, what an incredible piece,
both visually and always best on headphones.
Enjoy, and then we'll do one more. Thank you. We'll be right back. Again, congrats on that drop retro and go-go-litis.
We have one more for you.
This one is called 2080 Sexy by Sachku Diarty. Okay. Thank you. . Thank you. It's such a good
It's one of those notes, I just miss one line.
One of those Thank you. Hello, welcome to the show. It's such good. Сачки awesome and what serendipity that we chose to play two songs this morning
and junie is just getting in here welcome we'll get you up on the stage here thank you so much
for everybody being here right off the bat
for another Artsy Friday with Tezos Commons.
I'm your host, Yoshi, with Kryptonio over there as the DJ and co-host.
Thank you for making the sound always so fantastic.
OjoVivo, great to see you here.
I absolutely love the piece that I collected from you this morning
and really enjoy that entire collection, really.
I've been watching it since you started minting it.
Gina, welcome. United Saints, welcome. TerraBitcoin, welcome.
Randall, Schooney, Blank's in the building, Ryan, and Hash Brown.
Really excited for everything that's been going on in the space.
Just going to try to get Juniper up here. We'll send you a request to speak here.
And this is our first time having a youth on the show.
Juniper is only seven years old.
She'll be coming up with her father.
Hello, Carmela, which some of you might know.
This is going to be a really fun space.
Really looking forward to hearing the perspective of an artist that is literally
at the beginning of their journey
with already some really cool accomplishments
as you will see in the Gem of the Week thread
that we just recently posted.
it. While we're waiting for whatever technical difficulties are happening, I'll also mention a
couple of things that have happened that are exciting in the space this week for Tezos Arts.
As always, if you go to the at Tezos handle, you can find their weekly Friday recap for the art scene.
Lots of exciting things happening.
May 12th through 18th, we are going to be getting another object for object.
If you have pieces that you've been working on, maybe wait a few days,
put those final touches on them, drop them for object for object. An amazing event that we've had a lot of success with over the years.
Make sure to get ready, save up some Tez to collect, and get your art ready,
and reach out to people if you want to collaborate,
because that's another great thing about Tezo.
So many people willing to collaborate.
Object just recently announced a new Pioneer's Gallery,
Synthetic Abstractions by Dribnet, featuring six historic works.
Another contest going on right now is at Scurpy Social.
So if you needed some sort of an excuse or reason to go check out the new social media slash NFT minting platform, Scurpy,
here's your chance to go join into an art contest called Beyond Imaginarium.
There's some great prizes just for simply getting on there and
trying to mint your art. Art Chains recently announced the winners for their FCRS Stadium
open call. Go check out the winners list. Congratulate them. Follow them to find some great art.
Ryan Tanaka revealed the official poster for TezCon. That's also looking incredible.
Ryan Tanaka revealed the official poster for TezCon.
That's also looking incredible.
And Juniper, please hit the request button at the bottom left of the space
because we still are not getting you up here even though we have sent you invites.
Really cool to see that also on the thread from Tezos, we got the shoutout for Tezos
comments spotlight of our Gym of the Week thread with Mikey last week.
Definitely appreciate that being on there.
And then I'm just going to keep going through this list until we get Juniper up here guys.
Sorry for the technical difficulties.
Probably my own personal favorite thing that happened last week.
Justum Zero introduced MP4 support with sound to the Zero Contract ecosystem,
and that is now viewable via Zero Contract.
pushing boundaries in fully on-chain art. And that is now viewable via Zero Contract.
And I'm very, very proud of my team, Skulls Army and Parzino and myself
were actually the reason that update got pushed
because we blindly minted an MP4 not knowing it wasn't supported
after spending a week grinding away trying to figure out
how to put all three of our contributions onto a music mp4 with sound and under 20 kilobytes so we were actually the reason for that update and
really really proud of it definitely check out zero cat it's on my pen
all right so we are going to figure this out guys.
We have Retro in here, we just played your recent release with Gogolitis as our opening
Thank you for joining us.
If anybody else wants to request to come up, it might be good to make sure that we actually have that working in the first place.
Retro, if you want to come up and say a little bit about your most recent piece, since that is what we opened with as we continue troubleshooting, we'd appreciate it.
Good morning, everybody. Can you hear us?
Hey, I can hear you, even though you're still showing as a listener to me.
Gotta love Sp spaces technology.
Yeah, we're actually speaking through my my account. Hello, Carmelo. I don't know what happened. Yeah, we we were speaker for a moment and now it just won't let me join as Juniper. But no worries. We'll just talk through my account.
I'm glad you made it up through our phone. How's everyone doing today?
Pretty good. How about you other than the obvious
little technical glitch there? We are doing well. How are you doing, Juniper? I'm doing good.
Hey, great to hear from you, Juniper. Thanks for coming up today.
You're welcome. Real quick, just because I did ask, i don't want to ignore uh let's see
we're gonna let pop a beard come up here just so we have an extra speaker
sounds great it also sometimes can help the algorithm
but anyway i know that you guys have some very exciting things going on
and uh potential big drop coming over on Etherlink.
We're going to be talking all about that here in a moment and super, super excited to get into the details.
But real quick, how are you today, Papa?
I'm good. I'm good. Test 1-2.
Test 1-2. Thanks for coming up to test. Appreciate you.
You're welcome to stay up as a speaker.
All right. So Carmelo and Juniper, do you want to start with just a, you know, your own version of an introduction?
Well, I think maybe we actually have Juniper has has some jokes prepared so i think we might just
start with a joke if that's okay that sounds like a perfect icebreaker what's the best kind
what kind japan What kind? Japan. I actually love that.
The question itself already has my mind going, wait, you don't cook sushi?
Well, these are just, I don't know.
That's a good question, right?
And we got some more throughout the show, But we'll do one more right now.
Because we know everybody here loves cats.
What is a cat's favorite sushi roll?
All right. Anyway, thanks, you guys, for listening to our jokes.
We also have one other fun activity.
How many people we got in here?
Yeah, maybe we'll go ahead and do this quick activity.
So something Juniper and I do almost every day, we get up and we go on a walk with the dog.
And even if we're not with the dog, but when we go outside on walks, Juniper really loves to, I don't know, what do we call it?
We try to be animals and we go do cool things.
So we embody being an animal.
And we thought it'd be fun if everybody here that's in the room, if you want to let us know in the comments what animal you want to be today during our space, that would be really fun.
would be really fun and i think juniper would love to see any emojis or or gifts or animals
of of what you embody in yourself today so go for that if you feel like it maybe we'll remind people
you know halfway through if there's some new listeners but uh so for clarity if you go to
the teslos comments page in the post for this spaces and go into the comments let juniper and carmelo and us know what
you think your spirit animal should be today with a little gif or a meme or something sounds like
perfect yeah exactly um juniper what are you going to be today um leopard gecko leopard gecko
uh one of our pets is actually a leopard gecko and so that juniper
draws lots of inspiration from that. I am going to be a turtle. Turtles have always been one of my
spirit animals. Super strong and a really thick shell that they can hide in if they need to.
It's also the perfect animal to represent Tezos.
And I mean that in a positive way.
I always think about like the tortoise versus the hare and you know how the
hare is always rushing to get to the end and be the best.
And, you know, but at the end of the day,
the tortoise taking its time methodically step by step ends up winning the race.
Absolutely. And you got to you got to smell the flowers along the way, right?
Exactly. You can't even enjoy what you're looking at if you're speeding through it.
Exactly. Anyway, yes. So we have a big fun drop on Etherlink coming.
Yes, so we have a big fun drop on Etherlink coming.
Let's see, Etherlink launched like a year ago or something almost around that.
And we jumped right on when it launched in beta and messed around with everything.
Or granitegrowth.com is kind of like the pump.fun of Etherlink.
And there's not a lot of users on it at the moment but
there was some early meme coins launched and juniper launched one of them little sushi
and do you want to tell us what little sushi is all about um
well i wanted to make a new coin because i had juniper coin, but I wanted another one.
And we used to find a lot of salamanders. So I was like, hmm, maybe I should make a salamander who does sushi.
It is such a great visual, too.
I love the salamander cooking sushi um as a chef that you used as the uh initial initial introduction yeah me too
um that is actually um something to something to uh write home Like, we've got somebody that hasn't even hit the age of 10
with two tokens created on Tezos.
Yeah, so anyway, the story of the little sushi,
you know, for us, of course, you know,
we all want to make lots of money on meme coins, whatever.
But for us, it was just kind of having fun with Juniper's vision and expanding it out.
So she continued to make lots of art related to Little Sushi, and we started minting it.
And the story we kind of created to go along with it is that a lot of really interesting customers from the metaverse started coming into Little Sushi, starting off with these mystical creatures which she sold on Etherlink.
This is your coloring book from a long time ago.
These are just a bunch of things from before that I'm just sharing.
And so the master chef, Chef Salamander, met Juniper Paisley and decided to hire her to create portraits of all these customers coming into Little Sushi.
And started selling those portraits on Rarible
and Etherlink and also some on Object.
And then that was kind of the first phase of Little Sushi.
And then recently, the salamander,
here, Gene, can you get off me? Sorry.
Recently, the salamander has been looking into other culinary ideas,
and he decided that he thought maybe he would start a bakery with Juniper
because he heard of Tezos Bakeries, and he's like,
Wow, Juniper likes baked goods and sweets and muffins and stuff.
Well, let's help Juniper start a bakery.
So he's creating a series of sushi plates, basically, on Etherlink with Juniper.
And it's going to be a PFP drop of randomized sushi plates, you know, full on with appetizers and rice bowls and nigiri and sashimi and maki and sake and green tea and all the things.
And so Juniper's been working really hard the last few months creating a bunch of sushi artwork.
And the idea is that the salamander is going to be trying to sell off all these sushi plates as a fundraiser to start a real life tezos bakery for juniper um and we really we we we want to basically like or i want to set up juniper for you know
long-term success with tezos and of course i will be uh as soon as we can come up with the funds
and the technical know-how i'll be starting off to run the bakery but the idea is to you know hand
it off to her over the years and uh
let her make magic with tezos for the rest of her life or as long as as long as it's all happening
um and and you know to me this is like a lot of this whole thing that we're doing on tezos and
blockchain is experimental and a lot of excuse me a lot of us have lofty visions of, you know, what could happen with it.
And yeah, to me, like, you know, a lot of cool things happen along the way.
We make a lot of friends.
We learn some new technology.
But yeah, to me, like, that long-term vision is still a big reason why I'm here and why I brought Juniper in is seeing the real potential of how this could be, you know, how this could all change the world, really.
And I know that sounds cliche, but I think that's why a lot of us are here on different levels.
And so, you know, yeah, that's the goal.
We do have a drop date set.
We do have a drop date set.
May 21st, Wednesday, May 21st,
is going to be our big little sushi drop.
And in the next week and a half,
we have tons more details coming.
Which account should we be watching
and setting notifications for
to make sure we don't miss any of the updates
about that drop totally uh thank you yes that would be um juniper's account we'll be mostly
doing it through hers i think um for sure and you know um how much each edition is going to be
to mint uh yeah we don't know yet it'll be like between one and three tests
so pretty affordable uh yeah uh we haven't quite set the exact uh final number of outputs and the
pricing yet but it'll it'll definitely be affordable for most most people hopefully
um and i'm also trying i'm gonna be sharing over the next number of minutes quite a few links in
the thread um just to give you guys an idea of juniper's kind of history here uh on the blockchain
you know some notable moments we had and some posts um and some videos that just yeah give you
a deeper insight as to her as an artist and what she does.
Definitely appreciate that.
And just to update everyone, I love the spirit animals we've gotten so far.
So far we have, of course, Schoonie as an otter.
Let's see what else we got.
We've got malicious sheep as a beautiful swan.
Let's see. The as a beautiful swan let's see we've got elusive sheep
swan we've got united saints as a rabbit i like it that i feel like that was like a poke at me
talking about the tortoise versus the hare knowing united saints we have a koala by terabitcoins which ironically was what i was originally going to say
so spirit animal brothers i guess uh we've got a turtle from hello carmelo of course and then
says always cat and i responded saying always of course make sure to let us know or let juniper
know more than anything what you think your spirit animal is today.
What do you think about that crew of animals, June?
Well, I really like animals and I get a lot of excitement and ideas from them.
That's great. Yeah. A lot of your inspiration for your art yeah we actually saw foxes running across our running across our road gray foxes
oh and kryptonio would be a capybara oh i like capyas. They're really funny animals.
Kryptonio, please post that image that you just shared with me.
As far as you said, the drop is going to be Etherlink.
So just to be clear, it's going to be on a Rarible's homepage as one of their blindments.
Is that how it's going to work?
Yes, it'll be an official Rarible drop on their page.
We don't have the time yet, but yeah, May 21st.
And yeah, so you'll be able to just go to Rarible's homepage when it happens.
And she should be right there front and center.
We're really looking at this as hopefully an opportunity for,
you know, there's been lots of confusion and discussion
around Etherlink recently in the Tezos ecosystem.
And we're really hoping to invite...
What are you doing? sorry we're really hoping to invite anybody who's hesitant about trying either link to just come on over and give it a whirl knowing that all the funds
that you bring to either link are going to come back to L1 eventually as a bakery even if we don't
raise enough funds this time we're going to put it aside in a eventually as a bakery. Even if we don't raise enough funds this time,
we're going to put it aside in a wallet and, you know, make this a continuous fundraiser,
basically, until we can get reach our goal. So yeah, basically, you know, if you're on Tezos
L1, you can use the Etherlink bridge and bridge just a few Tezos over is all you'd need. Or if you're on Ethereum, you can use that bridge
or you can buy it on an exchange or whatever it is. We're also reaching out to some communities
on Ethereum that we hope to bring in. One of Juniper's first engagements on the blockchain
when we first got here in 2021, before we found Tezos,
we found another group of kids that were kind of like floating around minting. Nyla Hayes,
who did the long necky ladies some years back, which was very successful. And Arte De Emilio,
and there were some other kids. Those are two that we remember clearly, but there's, you know,
a handful that were all minting.
So we were messing around on Ethereum,
and we did an interview actually with Nyla,
and we posted that in the comments.
And you can get a deeper idea of Juniper when she was three.
It's like 45 minutes long,
but there's some pretty special funny moments in that if you guys get a chance to see it.
Real quick, guys, thank you for being here just to reset the room.
We are listening to Hello Carmelo and Juniper Paisley talk about Juniper's upcoming drop on Etherlink,
her experience with NFTs, their experiences minting on Tezos,
and their plan to eventually save up and start up their own bakery.
A very wholesome initiative here on Tezos.
Definitely something that I personally have been supporting since day one.
And I think everybody should be tuned into because what's more feel good than getting somebody in their youth into something so long term and with much potential, and especially within the arts.
What's the last thing that you guys dropped on Object?
Is there anything currently available for people to check out?
The last thing we dropped on Object was actually a...
We entered a contest through Art Chains to get a piece up in a stadium in Cyprus, I think.
Yeah, it was a cool little contest with...
I can't remember who all was involved, but she created a soccer ball
that's ready to go score some goals. And we didn't actually put it up for sale. We might,
it was just for the contest. So that was our most recent mint. We have a lot of art of junipers
to share. And it's a full-time job. I mean, managing, you know, it's like it's a full-time job i mean managing you know it's like i i i work full-time
so you know managing her art career uh so to speak is is i love it and i would love to do it full-time
but it's it takes a lot and you know minting all the work and getting descriptions from her
and um and staying up to you know sharing it all on socials uh it takes a lot so we do have a
lot to to share and we're going to be minting lots more soon this sushi project has kind of
enveloped us for the last few months so we we paused a little bit on on minting other works
well i do love the soccer ball playing soccer very very creative and um definitely think you
should potentially list that
maybe as an auction, you know,
just to kind of see if there's any opportunity
for some price discovery on your one of one
that can help raise funds for the bakery.
Well, you know, maybe I'll, let's get that going right now.
I think we can do that in the moment.
Live auction setting happening right now. And I actually do that in the moment heck yeah live auction setting happening
right now and i actually have a question for juniper about um the some with when i'm looking
at the uh art on an object i see there's a handful that stay in black and white and then some that are half colored in and some that are fully colored and
i'm curious about why like what what was going on in your head juniper when you decided that
one piece should have color and another shouldn't well it's because um sometimes when I'm doing really detailed work, it's kind of hard to know which is which.
And pencil is smaller than my markers, so I use pencil for the more detailed work and markers for the less detailed work.
like markers for the less detailed work.
And it actually, when you say that,
if you're looking at the pieces,
you can definitely notice that, in fact,
some of these pieces that are drawn with pencil,
it might have taken away from the detail
Like, I really like this one,
a homeless girl and her cat dinner with uh
it's just a really really intricate detailed sketch there's a lot going on in there
yeah do you remember that one it's it's like her cat dinah so dinah and rexy are are our two cats
and um i don't know if the homeless girl is supposed to be juniper or not
but it's not it's not but uh dina and rexie they um they offer a lot of the inspiration for juniper's
art and and and if you look through some of her pieces they they make their appearance in a lot
of a lot of the art they were actually some of my first pictures like window kitties that's right
window kitties did i post the window kitties yet up's right. Window kitties. Did I post the window kitties yet?
So if you look in the thread, you can see the window kitties.
That was basically our first mint.
That seems to be where it all started.
Well, actually, the pinchy crab actually was a sidewalk chalk, and then window kitties were second.
shock and then window goodies were second um but yeah that is kind of where it all started um and
But, yeah, that is kind of where it all started.
i we we posted the pinchy grab was for the the first object for object and then the window
kitties were were shortly after that um but i can also say that uh juniper is a very um in the moment
in the moment, you know, she makes art a lot, like every day.
And, you know, for her birthday last year, I got her 17 new notebooks, 17 new sketchpad notebooks.
And, you know, she carries them around everywhere.
They go in and out of our cars.
And it's hard to keep track of all the pieces like I, you know, when I go, you know, to go
mint some pieces, I just start looking through notebooks and I find find things I never even saw
before. So it's, it's, yeah, I guess better, better too much than too little. But yeah,
we are we have plenty, we have tons of art and some of it's unfinished. Some of it, I think she has intention to come back to someday and color in, but just
doesn't quite get to it. And so it's a very fluid process, um, for her. And, you know, sometimes
we're drawing, sometimes we're knitting, sometimes we're building with cardboard.
Uh, sometimes we're building little dioramas with like sticks and leaves outside. It's, uh,
a great opportunity for to ask a question um which is i said in the thread and actually during the
uh article of the month that juni was featured in uh essentially the idea that it's i'm all it's
as an artist late older artist like it's like i'm almost envious of this initial freedom to just explore
any medium with like no expectations and just be unapologetically artsy it's like one of the
beautiful things about being a kid right so my curiosity here is Juniper is there a specific type of crafting or art that has really been your favorite so far as far as styles?
Well, I really like drawing.
That's definitely one of my favorites.
And I'm just painting a little, but I really like drawing.
I actually did a MasterChef salamander painting.
So you like the drawing with colored pencil so far more than using a paintbrush?
Although I do like painting.
Yeah, I guess to clarify, usually what I've seen Juniper mostly gravitates towards,
although she'll use whatever's around,
is starts off with a regular pencil and then colors in with markers.
Or colored pencils or pens.
But yeah, it seems like you like to sketch a lot with regular pencil.
I actually did a new drawing today it's a tiny
little love dragon uh should we share that with those guys yeah so here's a we'll show you guys
a sketch that juniper made this morning it's not fully done but i have i have a picture right here
so one second here you did this one yep i got a picture of that one so one second here
Yep, I got a picture of that one. So one second here.
Here's a dragon she made and here's, what is that one? Can I share that one too?
So here's a couple that she made. These are yesterday's sketch and today's sketch.
And yeah, as I said, said i mean this is a daily
daily thing sometimes for hours sorry one of them is upside down yeah uh love dragon and what was
the second one wallaboo a wallaby wallaboo are you sure i can't share the video positive okay i i'm
i actually see a lot of development in your um outline of these
characters and i'm i gotta imagine it might have had to do with preparing this bigger drop on
etherlink yeah i guess yeah i mean she does uh she she continuously i don't even know where do
you learn a lot of your your art techniques mom teaches you a little bit. I'm not much of a visual
artist. I can sketch a little bit, but music is definitely
what I do mostly. And so I'm, you know, I would definitely
say Juniper has more skills in
perspective and drawing than I do at this point, hands down.
Well, maybe from my animals and from the titles on books, the pictures in books.
Oh, from pictures from stories and stuff?
That's where I got this really cool jungle piano.
That's where I got this really cool jungle piano. Right. That's so cool.
And it really is so fun to me to watch how fast the development of these pieces is improving.
Like these most recent ones you just posted, they're cohesive.
They have like strong outlines and very thoughtful coloration.
And it's really really really fun to watch
yeah you know i'd say a lot of the coloring she has she's developed on her own i know you've
taken quite a few like uh she has some you know how to draw books and like she's taken some
drawing lessons online just for fun little creatures and stuff um but yeah i think a lot
of the coloring has just been developed
kind of like her own intuitive process,
I think that's the way it seems to be
especially in this kind of digital realm.
And it definitely is how it was for me,
just doing stuff over and over and over again,
ignoring any suggestion of rules or guidelines.
Right, absolutely. over and over and over again ignoring any suggestion of rules or guidelines right absolutely i uh yeah i mean especially with the digital stuff there's so much potential for
just kind of you know experimentation with the technology and the software that allows you to
kind of mess with colors and and things um which i guess, you know, brings us back to the little
sushi drop. It was an interesting process because Juniper's art is very analog, almost all of it.
You know, we have Procreate and we've messed with it a little bit and we prepared the entire
little sushi thing in Procreate. But we actually spent the first two to three weeks after we found out we were doing it, trying to do it in Procreate.
We were like, oh, yeah, we'll just create all the layers and we'll just make it happen in there.
And, well, I don't know, Juniper, what did you feel about your experience doing that?
know juniper what what did you feel about your experience doing that well i really like doing
it on paper more than online because um it took us like maybe a month to figure out we were doing
it on paper than online if we're on procreate right there what why do you like to draw on paper better than on on digital
it just feels more easy really feels yeah feels more natural well that makes sense
i feel like procreate the only reason it is quote unquote better for some people is because of
all of the digital features that you can utilize along with the
drawing aspect but at the end of the day I think people are always going to enjoy drawing on a
paper for what drawing is better right totally I mean and I I can relate that to music it's kind
of like you know I you can music I love I love
music through speakers and I love you know I love digital music I love it all
but you know that you can't replace the acoustic sound of you know a live
instrument you know even you know even an electric instrument is never gonna
quite have that same acoustic guitar or hitting the weighted keys
of a real piano totally absolutely nothing that can simulate that feeling right and and hearing
that sound like echo through a real concert hall you know where where you're not using microphones
and stuff it's just it's different you know it, once again, I love microphones. I love recording. Um, and I do it a lot myself, but I, yeah, I,
I do recognize there's something to the,
just like the organic nature of analog, you know, it's life, it's real life.
You just can't get away from it.
This is a perfect segue to ask about the stop motion piece that y'all did. Um,
because that is a great example of analog made digital meticulously.
But I'm really curious about how y'all went about making that
and if it was technically a collaboration,
considering the music and everything.
Sorry, what was the last part?
So, yeah, we got selected.
We applied to be a part of the acts commissions that happen every month.
If people haven't heard of it, it's a really cool thing that happens monthly where they pick 40 artists, I think, or I don't know how many every month.
But it's to basically create a piece with a certain theme
and they provide a minimum bid for it.
So it gives you some incentive to get paid for making some art,
which for a lot of people, it's like for me,
before I came to Tezos, that hardly ever happened.
I mean, I've DJed a a lot but it's it's really
an amazing feeling and uh like you said you know yoshi uh to you know you were kind of in awe with juniper doing this so young and yet partly for me that's a big white reason i do it it's like
i didn't have that um you know growing up and i you know i can't even imagine when i was like
even 20 years old if i had been offered you know 5050 or even $20 to make a song, the motivation that that could have brought is amazing.
I have had that in life in different areas, but I think it's really important to offer that to kids.
I think it's really cool.
Anyway, we got offered that, and we started off thinking,
oh, how can we collaborate?
Juniper does a lot of drawing.
Maybe we'll do an animation, like a regular animation.
And we started looking into that, and it was like, wow,
there's a lot of technical parts of this that we don't know how to do yet.
And then I realized that Juniper had really been spending a lot of technical parts of this that we don't know how to do yet um and then i i realized that juniper
had really been spending a lot of her time creating uh in in those recent weeks she had been building
these vast dioramas you know like little little scale rooms and models and little habitats for
for all her different little plastic animals and toys and stuff. And yeah, just kind
of like, I just put it all together like, oh yeah, like why don't we just create a little story and
we'll make some music for it. And then we kind of like thought together about how we, you know,
what the story would be. We were just kind of like, we had all, we created the physical part
for it. And then we just thought like, oh yeah,
dance party could be cool. And I don't know. Yeah, we did. We, it,
it all kind of developed organically. And then, um,
we figured out the tempo for it. Um, you know, the,
the frames per second basically.
And then I transferred that to beats per minute and I, yeah, I made,
I made all the music for it. Um, and yeah, it was a really fun,
and super excited to try and approach that medium again
with Juniper when we get some time.
Yeah, it's maybe one of my favorite things y'all have done so far.
Not just because it's a collaboration between the two of you,
but because it's such a difficult medium and y'all did it well.
Yeah, I obviously the technical aspect
you know we learned a lot uh next time we will be using a tripod although you know i think part of
the the the joy of of it is that it's a little bit you know it's a little bit rough on the edges
and it kind of gives it some life but um, yeah, we learned about, you know, better techniques maybe in the future to do stop motion and the importance of having a still camera while you're taking your pictures.
But, yeah, that was a super fun experience.
And I was going to actually get back to what I was saying before, too.
You know, during this whole process of working on the Little Sushi project, it's actually been really cool.
I can say Juniper really didn't understand the layers on Procreate and what that kind of meant.
Picturing it in her head, understanding how it worked and the technicalities of it is just hard for her to grasp and once I started uploading
all her pictures and doing it um you know so basically all the assets for the little sushi
project are she did analog she wrote did on paper and then we digitized them um and put them on
layers and procreate I think there's two or three maybe that she actually did end up doing digitally
like the soy sauce and the napkin.
I think she did digitally and the chopsticks maybe.
Oh, no, the napkin you did, the chopsticks and the soy sauce, I think, maybe are the only digital things that she did.
There's a Tezos-branded sake.
Oh, and yes, there is a Tezos-branded that that we did digitally but it was really cool you
know through the i i i have spent a long time learning a lot about procreate in the recent
weeks lots of 2 a.m nights kind of just understanding how to create this whole layered pfp thing
oh yeah the chopstick holder was also a digital, Juniper's mentioning. But, you know, through my discovery of trying to figure out how to move things around and do layers and duplicate layers and add color and, you know, create the backgrounds, which are basically all the placemats.
And having Juniper help me, I think, you know, this process, it's really like Juniper's learned a lot.
And so it's actually like she's really developed.
I mean, in the last few weeks, even we've learned so much about Procreate and it's kind of like been a cool little spark to maybe inspire her.
Maybe we're going to like sign up for some or not sign up, but maybe do some like YouTube Procreate lessons or something.
or not sign up, but maybe do some like YouTube Procreate lessons or something. Because
as you mentioned, Yoshi, there's such a, it's like, you know, yes, it's amazing. I love analog
art, but wow, once you stick that analog picture in Procreate, it is phenomenal and amazing,
like what you can do. And, you know, I can just imagine if Juniper understands those tools better
and I can, you know, let her brain make the decisions around
what, you know, like, oh, I can just expand that bowl and make it bigger. Or, or I can, you know,
I can blend these colors together with some, you know, some effect or whatever.
That's one of the reasons I pointed out how much better her outlining and how the colors are
getting more refined. Because for example, the piece, the two most recent pieces that she drew
this morning, you could definitely throw those into procreate, easily get rid of the white
background and then put these characters in more of a refined scene digitally. And that'll really
take it to the next level to where it doesn't look like just a drawing on paper. What do you think about that, June?
You want to start taking all your characters
and put them in stories and animations and things?
And then if you really wanted to go wild,
I mean, again, this is just me and the way my brain works,
I would take those and feed them to an image to video AI
and see what those characters do if you try to bring
them to life yes you know uh i i we have seen your your recent ai videos you've been playing with
and wow totally i am super i i really the ai thing has been honestly just overwhelming for us
because it's kind of like there's so much out there and staying and plus it changes every day i get it it's exactly it's like what was available one month ago is different than now
and it changes so quick and um but yes wow i mean you know i think there's such an opportunity for
juniper to learn these tools early and and keep up with them and obviously if if every if the
world is still digital in 10 to 20 years,
we're going to be seeing some pretty wild stuff in 10 to 20 years, right?
It's just like it's all leading to more and more pretty far out ideas
that seemed impossible when we were kids kind of stuff, I guess to me.
It's definitely that way.
feeling like i'm able to put together like full movie reels and stuff like just by myself with
like 20 a month tools that i feel like just a few years ago would have been a million dollar movie
uh production process totally absolutely and i mean in some ways, it's like, yeah,
we almost saw this process happen with music
Music, it's a different medium, but
it's like to record a professional album
in the 90s, even, or early
of money. Or you had to have really
gear that cost thousands and thousands of
dollars. Now you can literally make good-sounding music with have really high-end home studio gear that costs thousands and thousands of dollars,
now you can literally make good-sounding music with a $200 computer, and that's all you need.
But it's pretty amazing, and I think the same thing is happening with digital art.
digital art movies certainly like the way movies are made is is wow you know movies have in in our
Movies, certainly, the way movies are made is wow.
recent times movies have been multi hundred million dollar projects and it's like pretty soon
and think about how centralized that makes the movie industry and like right and the fact that
i don't know i just i don't want to go on this tangent fully, but at the end of the day,
it decentralizes and opens up the door for anyone and their creativity to have
access to manifesting it and shining without having to have millions of
dollars to even try. To me,
that's a powerful positive that I think isn't talked about enough.
Absolutely. I think Juniper's ready to share
another couple jokes, if that's okay.
That's a good one i like that one um that one's genuinely funny
okay this one this one is this one's a little bit of a um stretch but but we'll we'll say it anyway. It's kind of funny.
Okay, I'll read this one.
At what age did the world's greatest sushi chef
Like two and a half? Yeah. It's a half. Like two and a half.
That one is a bit of a stretch, but it's still funny.
I would like to Juniper, you guys, you think you're ready for some questions potentially from the audience?
Sure. Yeah, I actually wanted to ask Juniper a question. Yeah. you think you're uh ready for some questions potentially from the audience sure yeah i
actually wanted to ask juniper a question yeah um and i've i've i've asked her before but i think
it'd be cool for people just to hear what she you know her perspective and once again if we all see What? Can I show that?
Juniper just gave me permission.
I'm going to take a quick tangent.
Sounds like we reluctantly gave you permission.
Yes. So we have a work in progress video of the Wallaby picture.
And it's a great idea to see her while she's working and creating the story.
She sketches it. It's while she's working and creating the story
she sketches it it's while she's sketching it with pencil so i'm going to post that and you guys it's it's it's pretty neat um i think so it's okay honey so we we often um
we try not to show juniper's face online because we believe that facial recognition stuff is kind of weird and scary and who knows where it all goes.
So you are going to see your face a little here and we might delete it later.
You also saw her face in the interview video, so no worries.
But anyway, this is a great work in progress that we are sending right now.
So you guys can look at that.
But anyway, here's the question I wanted to ask.
And if we all see Tezos as this long-term thing, you know, Juniper and her generation are going to be running things.
Like, that's just how the world works, right?
So in 10 to 15, 20 years, they will be at the forefront of all of this.
And my puppy is going to be digging holes to China.
Yes, our puppy is digging a hole to China in the yard right now.
And we'll just let him do that.
But so, yeah, Juniper, my question to you is, what is Tezos?
is tezos like we know what the internet is a little bit right or why don't you what is the
Like, we know what the Internet is a little bit, right?
Or what is the Internet to you?
internet to you um a place where you can let go and have fun and share your ideas
yeah okay so so then what's what is tezos like in your own words you don't have to think of the
the the metaphor we talked about before but like what do you what do you what is tesus
the metaphor we talked about before but like what do you what do you what is tezos
i don't know what i don't know well what do you use it for what do you do what do you what do you
what is it you could make like animation art like um you could not have to draw art and have fun with it even though it's an ai but
it's like um um yeah it's kind of like just having fun and
all right well that's okay yeah i was just curious what you thought
anyway yes we are fielding um it is having fun i think that's the greatest answer we're all
having fun at the end of the day the reason any of us are here i think because we're stuck exactly
um but yes we would love to field some questions if anybody has any questions um
we can start with uh papa since he's been up here the whole time anyway.
First of all, I'm a little offended that I wasn't asked what my animal was.
It'll probably come to no one's surprise that it's a bird.
But more specifically, I was going to say the American goldfinch,
because it's my latest fully on-chain bird.
But not to turn that into a show.
Instead, I will turn it into a joke.
When is the best time to buy a bird?
By the way, Papa Bearded NFTs, we have seen your unseen birds and they're beautiful.
Oh, well, and I'm really curious about making that bridge to Etherlink.
I know there's some who shall remain meaningless in our ecosystem who are not yet perhaps fully convinced that Pezos needs Etherlink.
But I think you have got a marketing opportunity when you said that all the proceeds from these
are going to come back to L1 to fund a bakery.
So you should throw this in all the Etherlink data space and like, great, you don't like it?
You can say you did it and you can rest assured that the money's coming back to L1. So there's your marketing tip.
Absolutely. Well, thank you. Yes, that is part of our angle is, you know, Juniper,
a lot of this is to support Juniper's journey. You know, it is, I love the art, she loves the art,
but, you know, a lot of what we're doing here is supporting artists' journeys. And so we're just experimenting and having fun. And yes, to us, you know, Tezos,
whatever it ends up being is, you know, we're pretty committed to it at this point. And
the Etherlink is an experiment for us. And we'll see where it all goes, right? But yes,
this is a chance to make sure it stays on Tezos,
and it's a way to experiment with it being totally safe, quote-unquote.
And just to add to that, that's exactly how I've personally used Etherlink,
and everything I've earned over there, which is actually a lot,
there's a lot of opportunities over there,
and there's a lot of people being stubborn about it, so there's, you know, less
people to fight for the opportunities. Anyway, long story short, everything I've earned over on
Etherlink has actually been bridged back to Tezos, and is the reason I actually, for the first time
in years, have a decently staked bag. So, haters can hate. Yeah, well, and i don't know it is what it is i i i i i believe that
it might it might work out for tezos in the long run and i can see why there's lots of uh
i can see why it's people are unsure about it based on all the the stuff that we've dealt with
in tezos over the last number of years but But yeah, anyway, I think it really is a cool opportunity for people,
anybody who's interested in Tezos can possibly feel good about supporting this project
Supporting Juniper and her journey, supporting a new baker on Tezos,
supporting perhaps a whole new generation of bakers on Tezos
once we get rolling and start
inspiring other families and kids to jump in. This is a chance to support Tezos for the long
haul and support Juniper in her artistic journey and her dreams. What are your dreams right now,
Getting a bunch of pets that do art.
Juniper has a lot of pets.
We have some zebra rollo polies.
They're striped rollo polies?
Yeah. Striped roly pullies yeah uh striped roly pullies and uh she has she's
she asks for new pets all the time she really wants to get a hermit crab uh more dogs another
leopard gecko another gecko 100 cats so i want a bunny maybe we'll be running a a a you know
animal art sanctuary someday where people can come do
animal therapy and and make art that sounds like a dream what are you yeah that would be
um for sure but we do uh you know uh we we at this point i i can't remember who was it that
asked i think it was theo wayne in a space the other day was asking.
It was a really good question for me.
You know, he's basically asking,
well, if Juniper decides that she's not into art anymore,
will you still, like, give this same level of support?
And, you know, it's interesting because it's like...
I'm always going to be into art, though.
But people change sometimes. And, like, sometimes when you become a teenager, interesting because it's like I'm always gonna be into art though well you say that now but people
change sometimes and like sometimes when you become a teenager you like decide you want to do
a whole different thing and and the answer is you know what uh yes I'm here to support Juniper in
her dreams um whatever that is and like to me uh I don't know I'm a dreamer I I my whole life I I
I kind of live on the fringe and try and do things that are experimental and try and make them succeed.
But I personally think that supporting youth in becoming the best versions of themselves creatively is like it could save the world.
most important things we can do in the world is help kids become confident, you know, versions
that they are proud of and giving their best to the world, whatever that is. And so, what are you
pointing at? What? What? Not right now. Just wait a minute. We're almost done. Juniper's feeling
antsy, so we'll probably let her be done in a minute here
tell all the jokes tell all the jokes do you have another joke you want to tell you're not alone
juniper well i do have a few jokes i made up real quick though just before the jokes if anybody else
does want to come up this is the last call to request to ask juni some questions and just a
of every month is an open community call where you are welcome to come up and share about your
own projects appreciate everybody being here what's a bird's favorite what do you call a bird
that doesn't want to eat its food what a pecky eater. Ha.
And then the other one is, what's a DJ's favorite snack?
Like, bread is money and jam is... How do you know bread is money? You heard bread is money and jam is jam. How do you know bread is money?
You heard bread is money?
Oh, okay. I was just curious.
So anyway, yeah, I think support the youth was what I was trying to say before you guys get the picture.
Does anybody have any other questions for us? We'd love to answer more questions if anybody has any.
You guys have done a great job covering the questions I've asked.
Really appreciate you coming up today and having the courage to just be here in general, Juniper.
I wanted to share real quick. i forgot to do it earlier um thank you yoshi for hosting us and for chatting with us it's always a pleasure
by the way and we love listening in to your artsy fridays and learning more about the different
cool no i appreciate that and i'll use that as an opportunity to plug that we just real quick
we recently published an article about rc fridays which you can find on the tesla's comments page
really excited about that one please give it a read give it a share so that we can
continue growing this initiative to spot lice and give artists voice
um anyway i want to write.
If anybody is interested in a.
For this drop, I'm going to be dropping the link right now. Leave your EVM address and your favorite sushi dish.
On the link that I'm sharing right now.
but you were kind of rugging there,
We only heard like a little bit.
And that's why I was actually talking over you
is because apparently you rugged for a moment.
I was getting a phone call on my phone
and it kept on doing that.
But anyway, I'm going to be sharing it right now
if I can find where to do it here we go so yes uh leave your leave leave your favorite sushi and leave your
at your evm address and we're going to get you on whitelist uh allow list or whatever it's called
uh there will be a cheaper pricing for the allow list for a few hours on the day of the drop before the public sale goes live so
you know we're talking like one test or whatever but it all makes a difference and we appreciate
any support for jumping on that list and sharing our project and vision and once again stay tuned
on Juniper's page over the next week and a half we will be sharing lots of more details and opportunities for giveaways for some free sushi plates all over the place.
And we appreciate all your support.
And we will absolutely do our best to continue supporting.
Really looking forward to seeing the drop.
And again, guys, if you have yet to try EtherLink, this seems like a great opportunity to do it guilt-free,
knowing that the funds are going to be saved up
for Juniper to start our own bakery on L1.
Thank you guys so much for tuning in
for another Artsy Friday with Tezo's Commons.
We've been here chatting with Juniper Paisley
and Father Hello Carmelo.
We do record these spaces,
so make sure to retweet the room.
Let anybody know that needs a good inspiring story
to listen to the recording
and check out Juniper's art.
She's going to say goodbye real quick.
and enjoy your weekend as well.
Much love, Yoshi. We'll talk to you soon thanks again sounds good
