Thank you. Welcome, welcome everybody to another Artsy Friday community call, our monthly call at
the end of each month on the last friday thank
you so much for being here we're gonna get things fired up with an intro song from our dj kryptonio
this is an amazing track from a recent uh duo of guests that we had on the show duo du musica
and this song is called perdon me and we will post the link to the top.
And as always, be sure to go check it out in its full form on object with headphones encouraged.
But hope you enjoy and then we'll get the show going here. .
in the bar, the noise of the city.
The shadows in the street, full of the lights that
me encampillan and my reflection
is lost between the lights.
I'm the river that I draw and flow with the instant,
always changing.
Milonga, milonga, luces that are the sea. Milonga, milonga, sombras al pasar. Milonga, milonga Voces en el bar Ruidos de la ciudad Oh oh
I want to live a little more.
I want to get lost by dancing.
I want to listen a little more.
I want to get lost by walking.
I want to live a little more. now and uh interesting note on that is that it was a single take they recorded that live at
bosque gracias amazing song i hope that they will uh go a step further and do like um like a full
production maybe someday with like some other musicians from Tezos maybe I don't know
maybe they'll hear the recording and that suggestion on that note guys make sure to
share the space make sure everybody knows that we are here doing a community call right now
because we want to hear from the Tezos art community on what you guys have been building
and just have a fun chill chat today with, which means you're welcome to come up.
Please request to come up and speak with us, and we'd love to hear from you.
I know we've got TezCon 2025 coming up next month.
I'm super, super stoked to be going to that.
Booked my flight and everything, and just so ready.
And just so ready.
I'm going to have so much fun with the community.
I'm going to have so much fun with the community.
It all started with, you know, Tez Tones and then has expanded into this, you know, overall Tezos movement.
And I hope more people will come.
And if you have any questions about it, we do have an article about TezCon this year available on the articles tab over at Tezos Commons.
tab over at Tezos Commons. And when you can also reach out to
And you can also reach out to Findle down there.
Findle down there, I'm sure he'd be happy to answer any questions
as well as Ryan Tanaka, even Blangs who's been
a big contributor in planning everything. And Blangs and I
will both be there. So if you can get out to Seattle next
month, June 27th is the main event, but it's going to be a handful
of days of just a really good time.
Reminder, welcome everybody, and this is the community call. You're welcome to request to come up.
Thank you for being here. I see a bunch of new people here since we got started. Appreciate
you being here. Juniper and Bill, amazing new piece that you put out today, Bill.
Really love that.
Welcome, Michael and Staint and TerraBitcoins and Scuni and MaxZ.
Got the Tezos community in the building.
Of course, MalSheep, MB, Rubisco, and TezTones.
TezTones account is here.
I see at least five names that I know that they have stuff going on right now i know you have okay there we go now we got the requests
hello welcome up ryan hey nice to see you guys again just came from another meeting
Guys again, just came from another meeting.
We're just talking about it.
So it's fresh on the mind.
Oh man, it's going to be every week we come up with something.
We got a new idea that can make the event better.
And so, yeah, we're going to try to represent as many sides of the ecosystem as much as possible.
And, you know, I think it's going to be a great, like,
melding of all the things going on around Tezos and, you know,
the bakers, you have sponsors, you have people from the foundation,
Tezos Commons, the musicians,
Taya, you know?
So, yeah, I'm looking forward to it
So, will you be busting
out the incredible Rollie
Seaboard again this year?
Oh, right now,
So, I'm assuming he'll be bringing it.
You can ask him yourself.
If you've never seen one of these,
it is an amazing work of innovative music instrumentation.
I live in a hole in the wall right now because I just moved here.
So I let him, I don't have any space to even use it.
So I let Fendo use it.
Seems like he's getting some pretty good mileage out of it.
Oh, that's awesome.
You know, wonder he's been pumping out so many crazy cool tracks.
He's got the that what is it?
Um, 88 key.
What is the full size, right?
I think he connected to a what was it
not a yama i don't know he connected to some kind of a synth and yeah he's been getting some pretty
amazing sounds out of it that's incredible yeah many years ago before um my rock bottom moments
i guess you could say i had one of those small ones that you just
had on the desk and produced so so many things on it unfortunately had to sell it during those hard
times but oh man that was a while back and things have gotten a lot better and frankly most of it
thanks to tezos and the nft movement and you guys, and supporting the art,
and then Tuzo's Commons, and it's been an amazing journey.
Anyway, Mal, I see that you came up.
How are you today?
I'm fabulous.
How are you?
Absolutely awesome.
Did you ever, I didn't actually, I wasn't able to catch the second take from your space the other day.
Were you able to get the sound working?
I was in the third take.
Something was going on. Yeah.
So first take, I did not reset my microphone in order to start the space foolishly so i did an hour
where i just talked to myself uh you know generally and then the second space the take two
rugged in 15 seconds and so then take three took uh it uh it worked my mic was working and i didn't
get rocked.
So I got to go through all of the things and still had time to promote the voting period for the community vote for the TTC
art contest at the time, which has now closed.
So very exciting.
Really excited to see the results on the TTC contest for sure.
Mm-hmm. Yeah. And I just got out of really excited to see the results on the TTC contest for sure.
Yeah. And I just got out of my second stream,
retro video game stream of the month,
which just took place over the last two hours.
And then this space popped up. I was like, Oh, I should come in here. Hang out. This sounds good.
We appreciate you dropping by to hang out with us
i'm gonna say hello to everyone that's up here one at a time and then we can kind of jump around
a little bit and again if you want to come chat with us just you're welcome to request but i think
test tones came up here next and then i do want to get back to you ryan here in a minute to catch
up with some of the things you've been building but test tones i imagine it's hash brown back there how y'all doing hey good morning everyone um yeah doing good just
getting ready for tezcon just got out of that meeting and excited for uh we have a space
tomorrow uh same time actually so in 24 hours for the the first mixtape curation we're doing for
some music on tezos so excited excited to shine a little light on that oh 11 11 good time magic time
it's giving a little pause for everybody to make their wish
okay all right so tell us more about the mixtape I know that you've been
excited about putting that together yeah it was just the realization that, you know, Tez Tones itself,
we have like a, it's a sports league for artists and they're live matches
and there's a decent, there's a lot of commitment and, you know,
it takes to sign up for the season.
And it's a shame because, I mean, it's not a shame, it's what it is,
but it's just a shame that we can't then through that format,
share a light on all the music and all the art that's happening within Tezos.
And I realized, like, hey, we can just do something that's a little less effort, you know.
People are already making the music, just shine a light on that.
So this month and going forward, we're going to do a monthly thing probably around 10.
This month it's 12 artists.
Some of them already up here.
Ryan and Fendler both featured this month's mixtape.
Got 12 tracks and just curated a playlist on object.
I'm going to have a space tomorrow.
Duo Do Music's going to be there performing their piece live.
So super excited for that.
just trying to like have a little rally point because I think a lot of
even a lot of artists we know that make music don't mint as much music.
I personally don't as much as I could just because it doesn't feel like it gets as seen or as recognized sometimes so just trying to you
know give a little maybe incentive or spotlight recognition to the people who are out here making
music already and hopefully incentivize something to for more people to to mint the music they might
be making and not minting well that's beautiful and definitely appreciate it
one thing that um i've noticed just from i'm sure you've experienced this maybe um more than usual
with putting together the playlist is that it's really easy to miss a lot of the music that is
minted on tezos because it's minted within an mp4 dude there's no way to search for this is a whole
conversation we just got out of that's like yeah and I think a lot of the problem is a indexing but
be like best practices because even if then you mint an mp4 then that's not very convenient to
stream so what we're just saying is like maybe we need to encourage people to maybe mint MP4s as collectibles to sell.
I meant like one MP3 or a wave that then can be actually streamed and have that be like the one you don't sell as a streaming NFT.
We just need to develop better best practices for musicians to even understand how we navigate this because there's pros and cons of each one.
And if you do one, then it feels like a tradeoff versus the other.
So like, how can we even figure out a system that works better for all of us together?
I feel like Ryan wants to say something to that.
I mean, yeah, we're just talking about this actually right before this.
But yeah, you know, you got to think about it this way because it's like I've been trying,
I've been focused on the audio and
music side of teslos for the last couple years right and and uh honestly a lot of it is well
the numbers are very small you know so it it kind of suffers from neglect you know it's not anything
not you know no one fucked anything up or right
it's not anyone's fault in particular but it's just the inf you know the basic infrastructure
for like showcasing a music right like head radio was great right because it was a place where you
could just mint something it would just automatically show up on the radio and then you could see
yourself and and you knew other people were listening right so that that's what made it
kind of fun to make music back then so to interject just to the point though real quick
is that even within radio it wasn't able to register the mp4 aspect so oh yeah yeah no no i definitely think that there's something to what
hash brown was just saying uh is and i think that you what you're building could actually play a
role in that as far as if people were more diligent about using licenses and there were better options sure there could be a way to more solidly differentiate
why you meant to this quote unquote twice yeah and i think from the artist's point of view
it's uh there's a lot of uncertainty right like like cash mentioned it's just they're not
you know you're a musician you go on tes, so you're not just quite sure what to do.
And so what we want, what we want to do, you know, going forward is kind of just making sure that, you know, help, help build the things that give, give people a reason to want to meet, right?
Even if it's just as something as simple as uh it showing up
on a on a feed somewhere right absolutely and that's all hidden radio really was it was just a
feed you know it was a very simple website in a lot of ways but but i think it kind of like
speaks for itself right the engagement it got. Absolutely.
A hundred percent. And if anybody is curious about what we're talking about regarding Hen Radio, on the Tezos Commons articles tab, there's also an article about remembering Hen Radio.
Real quick, Fendel, I've made you wait so long, but real quick, just to make sure everybody knows what's going on.
This is the Artsy Friday community call.
And anyone is welcome to come up here.
And the musicians, we're just used to taking the stage. So the musicians have kind of taken over
the stage. That is not a reason for you not to come up here and chat with us. So this is our
monthly community call. If you want to come chat with us, please request. We'd love to hear about
what art you've been doing or what projects for art you've been building on Tezos recently.
But Fendel, how are you today?
I'm doing great, Yoshi.
Thank you so much for the space.
Guys, much love to everybody here.
And yeah, and I just wanted to say, you know, like all of these things that we need as musicians
building, you know, on Tezos, they just don't all have to happen at once either.
You know, I think we really need to remember that and just like, kind of codify,
distill down the things that we actually do need and go for those, you know, anyway.
And we don't have to, you know, just like hen radio was very specific and it's in what it did, you know, or I guess it doesn't do anymore. But anyway, it was specific, right. But I'm just excited. I'm excited for this conversation anyway. And just appreciate you guys.
Oh, and I just want to add very quickly,
like you guys were initially talking about the Rolly Grand,
which I think is a really beautiful instrument.
Ryan, let me borrow it.
And just as a description, when you,
it's like a keyboard, but the keys are actually mushy.
Like a week old baked potato is what it feels like and
you can mush your hands over the keyboard and it will the sound will modulate you know like from
all of the weird mushy business but it does look like a keyboard but it's just like, it's, it's like a mushy thing. And it's really, really, really fun to play. And so I basically run
that. It's a MIDI controller. So you run it into, I run it into
my computer. And mostly I've been using the Yamaha CS80. It's a
virtual instrument of a classic synthesizer that was used in Blade Runner, you know, Vangelis.
There's probably less than a thousand of them in the world.
And maybe of those, probably much less that are actually in working condition.
And this is a virtual, you know, rendition of that. So those two things, the Rolly Grand paired with this virtual, amazing,
amazing synthesizer. It's just legendary. Like these tools together are just ridiculous. Like,
like blows my mind. I can shake the whole house just like with the thing. It's crazy.
But anyway, it's just exciting. So I just wanted to share that with you I kick it back to
you so from somebody that has actually played one of these things it's it's akin to combining the
the physical how do I put this I'm trying to put it like there's a there's certain things about a
guitar where it like the amount of pressure you put is like so significant and how you slide your
fingers on the guitar is so significant yeah it just can't be replicated on a piano exactly and
that tactile nature of you know how you interface with an instrument is just like, to me, it's everything, you know.
And that's one reason why I love instruments that where you're like doing things, you're not just like fiddling around in computer land on a screen.
You know, like I really like that physical nature of instruments no matter what it
is but the the rolly the seaboard rolly grant is like once you sit down at it and you kind of
experience that it's just very very satisfying to play you know, it's very well made. Uh, the motto you have is actually, uh, I don't know what you call it.
Like a, a prototype motto.
So I got it before they started selling it to the public and, but the, the new
versions pretty much unchanged.
I checked the newer ones, but it's pretty much the same thing.
And if you're interested
i think they also make the very small version too yep like like it's like like i don't know
if it's like two octaves or something like that yeah it's about two and a half octaves if i
remember right yeah it's they have a single octave one two i think not sure but but yeah the the it's the squishiness right yeah yeah totally yeah
quite novel for a keyboard player but you know they have stories about like i i think i got it in
way early like 2015 2016 maybe but like um, there are stories of like piano players like breaking down crying because
it's like, oh my God, for the first time I can express myself.
I can do vibratos.
Oh, you know, normally as a piano player, you're just used to pressing buttons all the
time, right?
Well, yeah.
And when you are a piano player, what you're actually doing, you know, you're actually a drummer because there's a contact, there's a hit, you know, there's a hand.
I mean, they call them a hammer for a reason.
They're hammers.
It hits a string like a bam.
Quite a violent instrument when you think about it.
Yeah, there's a lot of tension in there, right?
Oh, man, it says so much about me it sure does what's the weirdest instruments like you guys have played maybe some i don't know from other countries or anything not that well known you know
um i mean i've played a lot of instruments from ghana um and south india
and it's not weird though right that's but you know just you know like yeah yeah weird was not
the right word probably but like the most uh
interesting interesting not well known maybe most interesting was like um like gum gong and and uh
talking drum from um from ghana so those are some one of some of the like you know unique very unique
some of the like, you know, unique, very unique, different experience.
And I took like a year, you know, of classes and in both, you know,
African drumming and South Indian hand drum, frame drum actually like a like a they actually have them in Ireland too very popular
there it's like a like a little frame it's like a little circle that trips me out how common that
drum is across the world it is right which drum um it's called a frame drum. It's basically like a little open, or sometimes they're closed too, but usually open one side and then just a circle and maybe like three to four inches in diameter.
people are highly proficient you know i mean it's a it's a real thing everywhere in the world
it seems it's kind of like you kind of find that all over the place which is so interesting i think
you know to see kind of the same instrument in a different environment oh you know what's a crazy instrument the organ at kenyan hall
great that is for sure that thing is crazy context yeah hall is the event center for tezcon yes
nice segue uh but this no like i've seen a lot of different instruments but this like takes the cake because it's like it's an organ right like you've seen those pipe organs uh at some churches right um
if you've never seen them one up close uh you should check it out because they're already crazy
right like it's basically the whole room is the instrument so organs are mind-blowing yeah so this person at kenyan hall took it a step
further and basically modified the organ you know the playing area and it connected to a bunch of
things happening around the venue so if you press this, it's going to hit a triangle in that corner over there. If you press this button that hits the symbol in the other
corner. Uh, yeah. And it's connected to like a million thing is it's pretty
I'm going to have to show up early enough to do like a serious experimental
practice run.
You should.
Cause back in, back in the day when i used to do solo gigs
i'd sit on a cajon and use a backwards kick drum to hit the cajon to the beat and i'd have like a
a harmonica uh neck brace with a kazoo on it and i'd be doing that and hitting the drum and playing
guitar and it just made me think about that just like trigger a bunch of on it and i'd be doing that and hitting the drum and playing guitar and it
just made me think about that just like trigger a bunch of cool things as i'm playing uh sounds
like you might be able to do it i'm afraid it's very intimidating especially for for a keyboard
player like myself you know it's like oh my god like that that would be hard. If you thought 88 keys was a lot, this is... Yeah.
Once again, guys, don't be shy.
This is Tezo's Commons Artsy Friday monthly community call.
And as I kind of joked before, but it's actually pretty logically why.
We're a bunch of musicians.
We're used to taking the stage.
So that's why everybody up here right now is a musician.
But you're welcome to come up and chat with us
about what you've been working on within the Tezos art scene.
And thank you for being here.
Appreciate you joining recently here.
Skulls and Paul, it's good to see you.
Aria, Para.
We've got Rubisco and Bubbles down there.
And Mouse and Theon.
Thank you guys for being here.
You as well, Randall and Dope AI Mama.
Gino, and I think everybody else
have already said hello to.
Oh, you as well, TP.
Thank you for being here.
And again, just request if you want to come up
and share what you've been working on.
If you've got a piece that you just recently dropped
you want to talk about.
We have, you know, the upcoming results
for the TTC art contest.
maybe he wants to come up and talk about that.
We've got,
we're into,
we're moving into,
what is it?
Round three or the WTF game show.
Somebody wants to come chat about that.
A lot of fun things going on.
there's a lot going on
or you guys get to just hear us musicians chatting about music stuff the whole time
it's up to you what's up with the soap can you explain the whole soap factory thing okay so this
i'll try uh paul welcome to come up if you want to talk about it but it's uh essentially art that
represents oppressing oneself in a way that it benefits others um and it doesn't actually have
to be soap that's just the self-oppression advocacy program or whatever it stands for
so it's a cool concept where it gets you thinking about existential issues
and things that potentially you as an artist or somebody could do
that might not necessarily be in their best interest,
otherwise like a sacrifice that would benefit others
and then putting that into a theme of an artwork.
and then putting that into a theme of an artwork.
And from what I understand, you can do up to three pieces.
One can be a one-of-one that would be sent to the game show account,
and all that information is on their post on the profile page.
And then you can do a collaboration,
and that one you would want to, you
can decide if you want to do it a one-on-one or send it to people with, that are currently
within the game shows round three. And then there's the other one, which is where you
can, you can just make a piece that you feel like contributes to the, to the theme and
send it, airdrop it to everybody that's on
the sheet for the current round.
And then you'll receive what the fuck tokens, the currency that everybody's trying to earn
within the game show for certain in-game mechanics and auctions and stuff that are going on.
So that's my attempt.
Anybody's welcome to step in that's also playing the show,
playing within the game show.
Oh, also, what's up, Bill?
Welcome up.
Thanks for coming up.
Hey, everybody.
Hey, Fandle.
Everybody. Woo woohoo!
What's going on? Is it your birthday?
I was just going to say, I turned 61 today.
Happy birthday!
Happy birthday, man!
Here we go, everybody together together happy birthday to you
happy birthday
happy birthday
happy birthday
We did it.
We are trained musicians.
Awkward, awkward internet.
I definitely sat that one out.
But yeah, well done, everyone.
Hey, cheating.
No one gets to sit out.
We're going to have to do this again.
No, I know. No. Put everybody on the spot there. No one gets it out. We're going to have to do this again.
No, I know.
Put everybody on the spot there.
No, we were off time.
We got to run it from the top, folks.
Take it from the edge.
No, but Bill, you dropped a piece today.
You want to talk about it?
Yeah, I put it in the chat. It's an abstract painting.
I think I put it in the chat. It's an abstract painting. I think I put it in chat. I'm still working on all this. But yeah, I dropped a painting that I did. Pretty cool. Had fun doing it. And it's acrylic abstract painting, 16 inch by 20 inch. And yeah, I minted it. And thanks for you as well as others in the room buying it.
And yeah, Vendel's got some in his wallet.
And so yeah, that's a really cool piece.
I've created a lot of other paintings recently that are in there for a pretty cheap.
recently that are in there for a pretty cheap.
Anyways, I am currently working on a 11 inch by six,
16 inch by 20 inch on white canvas.
And it's gonna be a landscape.
I've already got some grass and some trees outlined.
And so I'm going to be working
on that today. And yeah, I'm just going to hang out and relax in a sunny day. But thanks everybody.
Yeah, appreciate you coming up and definitely check out Bill's pen. It's a really cool one of
my favorites actually I've seen. It really brought my imagination to life as far as like, really, I could see several different things within the subject. And that's what I love about Bill's art. It's very abstract and kind of just sparks your imagination. Really awesome piece and really awesome artist to support. One of the first articles I actually wrote for Tezos Commons was an article featuring Bill and his work and his story, which is still available on the Medium page.
And probably within the, you know, if you scroll down on the articles tab at Tezos Commons.
Thank you so much for coming up and happy birthday, bud.
You're welcome.
Thank you so much, Yoshi, and everybody here.
Thank you. coming up and happy birthday bud you're welcome thank you so much yoshi and everybody here thank
you and again everybody that has spoken you're welcome to stay up and hang out and chime in at
any point and mal uh i know that we took over the stage but you also do music and poetry and we'd
love to hear more about what you're doing here here in a moment if you want to keep talking with
us but we have somebody uh new up on the stage.
This is somebody that we haven't gotten the pleasure of speaking to yet.
Jesse, thank you for coming up.
How are you today?
Yeah, Yoshi.
Welcome, welcome.
Good to be here, everybody.
Should I say GM, GM?
Absolutely.
We are all chatting from you.
Someone's GM. GM, GM. Yeah. Absolutely. Whenever we are all chatting from you, someone's GM.
Yeah, thank you so much, everybody.
I'm happy to be here.
I've been following Tezos' community for, Tezos' comments for a while,
and this great community.
And Yoshi, thank you so much for today.
I'm a traditional artist, everyone, and I'm happy to be here to talk about my work
and I'm open for questions.
Thank God it's Friday.
Absolutely.
Thank you for coming up.
An absolute pleasure.
I collected one of Jesse's works earlier today
after discovering him
and it's really, really some fantastic art.
If you want to talk more about it, you're welcome to all right yes i surely will okay let me just put the work on
the jumbotron so i just talk about it and why i created it you know thank you once again yoshi
i didn't see that coming i just i don't even know I just tagged you to a post and voila.
I was surprised you went to check out my profile and it was there.
Now, the amazing thing about the cube world.
The amazing thing about this cube world was everything you see in this work was made with acrylic and charcoal and graphite pencil.
Yes, I made it on paper and the physical is with me so all my works are physical so and I love exploring charcoal it's a very wonderful medium I see pencil as a humbling
every pencil artist I see pencil as a humbling tool that we used to create. So looking at the cube world, I just sat down one
day and I asked myself, everybody keeps saying the world is a circle, the world is a circle,
but we are all living in our various boxes of life. Everybody here is living in their various
boxes of life. Now, Tezos, crypto, everyone here, you are living in your belief system and your belief system what
you know it's a it's like a box and now the beautiful thing about life is everybody will
come together to make a whole that is if all of us come together now when we look at this community
this is the example of the cube world. Everybody is from different places.
We came from different places.
So it's like a wood maker.
You are coming with your ideas.
I'm coming with my ideas.
But yet we are still boxed in what we know.
So when we come together, we create.
This is what the cube world is all about.
So when I made it, I just uploaded it there and i just called it a keyboard i said it may mean
anything to many people but i look forward to always talking about the peace and that is because
to me i see this life as black and white now why do i say so now they we not humans not colors
now from the lenses when everybody closed their eyes the first thing you
see is a dark world that's because vision is not is no longer there but that is the true form of
vision because even your mind nobody can see it so we we see from the inside before we see the
outside and this is what the cube world is so if you want to open any of those boxes if you can i
believe you should surely see minds inside but that's the amazing thing about bringing 3d on paper so thank you yoshi for picking an edition and it's just
five editions left it's possible to have it sold out and more so for everyone present i'm also a
portraiture artist i love taking commissions if possible i did a portraiture painting of someone here on the on the blockchain her name is Julia
I did a portraiture painting of Julia that is it up there and I just dropped it on object for
three tersers now this piece was made with charcoal on paper it was made with charcoal
on paper and graphite I love exploring that medium i'm also a multidisciplinary artist so if you check through my profile you see my i'm working on a series that i am yet to meet
anyone on a blockchain i'm working on a painting mixed media painting oils and acrylic on canvas
with charcoal the series is titled identity so it's going to take series of phases. So sorry if I'm just talking too much. I just want
to bring everyone into my world as quick as possible. So when you check any of my works,
even on Instagram, you see some of my paintings. I do share some of them on my walls here too.
So I am telling the world to come into the beautiful world of my creations. And I'm exploring identity.
I want everyone to create.
Sorry, I am posting so much,
but you can take it off on the Jumbotron.
Lastly, that is me sitting in my,
let me just say it, in my dad's parlor.
Yes, I'm having a minor challenge
with my present accommodation,
but will be fixed, I believe. So now everything about me i love to create those are my paintings on the wall they are all life sizes they are three by four feet so yeah this is the current
piece i'm working on i'm working on i'm trying to create 10 pieces of three by four feet work
on the series of identity so i'm i'm imploring everyone in here to keep creating,
as I also tell myself.
And thank you, Yoshi, once again.
And everybody here, support me as much as you can.
I cannot do without you.
We need the community.
And thank you, everybody, for coming.
As much as you can pick from my collections
and your words of advice your
questions is it the processes i'm always open to share ideas if you're a traditional artist
and happy birthday once again to bill knight happy birthday friend sorry for that oversight and i
wish you a very great day so if anyone it's if you are a traditional artist like myself maybe you are mixing colors I'm open
we can always talk on Zoom
you want us to share ideas
how to go about the color
I am really an open minded artist
because I really want to grow too
yes thank you
and shout out to Amir Music Down Day
also one of my collectors
thank you so much guys
thank you for
absolutely thank you so much for sharing and
again guys there's no reason to apologize for sharing what you come up and in detail that's
what the space is for we want you to feel uh unfiltered and able to share the unapologetically
artsy self you know like that's the whole point and um i know that as an artist it's what i always look for
is the ability to share um freely so i appreciate you guys coming up and doing it you're making the
show possible yeah i was checking somebody out it's it's actually very nice um yeah i gave you
a follow for sure wow thank you very much i just saw it i just followed you back and one thing i always do in
every space i've tried my best to follow all the hosts and co-hosts and many people as possible so
i'll surely do the same i'm following everyone thank you so much and i'm grateful yoshi once more
it's a pleasure again guys this is teslos commons artsy friday monthly community call thank you so much teslos
commons for making it possible thank you kryptonio for being a co-host and a dj and always helping
out and thank you guys for coming up and speaking and all of you being up here as speakers is uh
really helping the
algorithm it would seem because we have a really beautiful room here of people that
are tuning in. Make sure to continue sharing the space, let people know we are here. We
have probably another 20 minutes or so to share whatever you guys want about what is
going on within the Tezos Art community. Anybody that is still up here, you're welcome to chime
in and share more about what you
got going on until we get some more requests. Unrelated. Oh, sorry. Go ahead. No, go ahead.
Oh, no, just real quick. I posted a link. Did you know Mech? We found out that he has a music track on Spotify.
We featured a song that was on Mix Object,
kind of out towards the bottom hiding just recently.
So anyway, I posted the link.
That's all.
I just wanted to get that out there.
Thanks for sharing it.
All right, Mal, what's up?
Well, you know, working on a million things as I do.
Currently doing a little bit of a shop on Tezos
because I haven't done that in a little bit.
Having fun with it.
Did you say a shop?
Yeah, I had some Tezos.
I got community... Oh, you-hmm. Yeah. I had some Tezos. I got a community.
Oh, you're shopping.
I thought you were saying you were putting up like a shop for physicals or something.
I do feel like there was a missed opportunity with Shopify with the Tezos integration.
with Shopify with the Tezos integration that went to Solana
and has since disappeared again.
So I think there's room for that to be repaired.
I'm not going to lie.
But yeah, I've been working on hosting more spaces.
If folks haven't seen my new schedule, you can check it out. It's part of my pin tweet.
There's two new spaces in addition to the ones that were there previously,
which is Tezos 101, Shill and Chill, where folks can come and share their work,
similar to what we're doing in here but for artist development
conversation as well so coming to share your work and getting some critique and feedback
or learning how to create a really good artist's pitch or artist statement about your work
all that good stuff and teaching folks from outside of Tezos what goes on in Tezos. It's also
going to take place in that space. And then on that's the first Sunday of every
month at 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. So that's coming up on Sunday. And then the other
space is the TEA office hours at 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. Eastern Time on the final Sunday of every month, which just happened last weekend.
And all things TAYA.
So you have questions, you have feature proposals, you want to just come hang out and chat.
That's the space to do that.
And I've been doing gaming streaming which has been fun I've got a project that I'm gonna continue with I don't know if
anybody saw my dip or not the diptych the stereoscopic image that I did for object for
object that's gonna that's the first piece in an ongoing open series that i
will be crafting over time in batches of four um so some new ones should be coming soon so keep
your eyes peeled for that in case anybody doesn't know what stereoscopic is this is where you pair
two images that looks pretty pretty similar but they are photographed from a
slightly different angle and when you pair them together uh you can cross your eyes slightly
like a magic eye and create the illusion that it is three-dimensional and it will pop out at you
um not everybody can see this of course um but some folks can and you can also look online for ways to uh create a very your
very own little viewer to assist you with that if you are unable to do it on your own like i am
i still haven't been able to do it i've tried a few times now i think it might be because it's
on the screen i don't know uh it shouldn't matter too much if you make it bigger or smaller does it make a difference for
you no but I'm gonna keep trying because I like the idea and I know of what you're referring to
um just I'm not very good at defocusing my eyes like that, I guess. It's like if you're starting to look at where your nose is,
like at the bridge of your nose,
that kind of makes it happen a little bit.
You can also practice by looking at your finger
and pulling your finger further away.
Oh, that is a good trick.
I forgot about that one.
I'll try that.
Anyway, it is a beautiful piece. Even if you cannot see the illusion uh it's a beautiful photograph and i i
love um that flower a lot i appreciate you yeah it was a happy little find just the two of them
uh usually the strand has somewhere between six and i I don't know, 15 flowers, but that one just had two. It's lovely. And then I've been gardening and recording music. And that's about it. I said that's about it, I'm lying, but that's all I'm recalling currently.
I said that's about it. I'm lying.
But that's all I'm recalling currently.
Also, I had a fabulous time at the Tezos Commons space on Tuesday.
With Custodian.
And with the lovely Blank.
It was great.
That is great.
And we appreciate you coming up and sharing.
And always having so many amazing things for us to check out.
If you are in the room and you have not checked out mouse sheep's profile or object or tia account
uh you're missing out because there's some beautiful art and not to mention just a lot
of the awesome spaces and um look forward to that continuing it's very very central aspect to the activity going on right now
and definitely appreciate it he does so much for the community you have no idea
yeah it's it's hard to summarize um for sure
real quick i do want to say always always always yes
Always learning.
Always, yes.
must exist
Replicate her somehow.
That would be great.
It would solve all the problems.
It's true, though.
Welcome to the room,
the Tezos community. You were up first, and then TP will get to you next.
Thank you both for coming up.
And I see your hands there, Jesse, but I do want to acknowledge our new speakers real quick.
We'll get to you as well.
Unless you had something specific towards what Mal was saying, then you can chime in real quick.
All right.
I will just read. I will just read. Go ahead. Okay. all right no i'll just wait i'll just wait go ahead okay the tezos community how are you today
i know that the tezos account sometimes has issues with the mic. If you're speaking, I cannot hear you.
That's probably Rubisco.
Rubisco, go get Miguel's phone.
Oh, you're not hearing me?
There you are.
Now we do.
Oh, I am already on Miguel's phone, so this is the last resort.
I hope it's working.
Yeah, we can hear you now.
Okay, great. Awesome. Everyone, hi.
I just wanted to thank everyone who participated in our event, especially the art contests. We had 47 entries.
It was great and really hard to choose just three.
And we beat record of the wallets voting.
I believe they were 147 wallets voting
in the community phase.
And now we are at the jury voting phase. It was supposed to be 10 finalists, but we had
a four-way tie for the 10th place, so 13 ended up being up for voting.
I see some Freya holders or Tezos warriors here, so Ryan, Mal...
or Tezos Warriors here.
So Ryan, Mal, I think Mal already voted now.
But Ryan, you can still vote.
The voting ends tonight at midnight UTC.
Thank you all.
Thank you all for being part of our event.
And personally, I'm very happy with this election.
I, I, some people had issues about the community voting.
To be honest, we always did community voting
because we are a community project
and we want to involve the community.
And we never felt like they let us down.
Like the voting to me seemed really fair
and it was just great to see i i believe in the
community and she never disappoints me so thank you all for participating congratulations also
to randall yesterday he ended up in second place at the xp rush it was a little fight
between him and marco but he managed to secure the second place so
thank you for the emotion at the end and yeah I'm really enjoying this and I'm
just really really sad I don't have enough money to go to Tescon so
hopefully you guys keep doing that for many years until I have enough money to
go there and I wish you all the best and the winner of the art contest will be
submitted to be in the test con like when you open the form so thank you for that opportunity also
thank you guys oh and just another reminder the treasure hunt ended someone found the treasure
also by a four blocks difference between the first and the second
person who sent the key but all of you who minted the key you can still send it to the locked wallet
and this is blockchain guys so you don't need to go through the words you just look at the history
of the the key right so anyone sending the key until the end of the month, you can still claim the
participation prize. And if you really enjoyed the hunt, you can still go for the perfect score
and insert the 20 words at the form in order to get the vault NFT that Skulls Army created for
the event as a sort of badge of honor for managing the highest achievement there
so yeah thank you all for participating again and good luck to those in the final
ic juniper here so yeah good luck to everyone thank you
thank you and everybody that is contributing to the volunteer community initiative that is the Tezos community. You guys do so much and definitely appreciate it. And it's been a really fun event.
to go through the second phase with para para you are also a tezos warrior you can vote in this round
too although you cannot vote yeah i know you did already you cannot vote for your own piece but
everyone else is fair game or you can be strategic and don't give votes to the competition so
it's up to you
there always is that little voice in your head as you're voting for something that you're a part of the competition.
The person I voted for beats our piece by one vote.
beats our piece by like one vote it's gonna be like mixed emotions
It's going to be mixed emotions.
but at the end of the day it's it's become easier and easier with things like test tones
and uh the uh matches and stuff they really they give you the practice and like balancing the
competitor in you and just voting for the art you like the most. You know, there's a nice balance there.
I gotta be honest.
When Ash Brown asked me to be the jury in the semifinal,
it was a dreadful situation for me because it's really hard,
especially when you also like the people involved and you have that personal thing behind.
So being impartial is hard.
But yeah, that's probably why I always try to make the community vote.
So I don't have to make those hard decisions.
So yeah, maybe that's it.
It's a cool experimental thing we've done a few times now to have a community vote,
a refined vote and then
judges all playing a weighted role i think that that kind of solves any room for complaints in a
way and you know there's always going to be people complaining but i've to me that seems like the best
compromise yeah or just opens up room to like so much more complaints we got judge complaints we got public
vote complaints we got but yeah no i think it's just trying to find the system that works in the
time and and rubis that's i know it's hard that's why i pawned off on you and thank you even though
you voted my team to lose i appreciate your contribution and honestly that is the thing
like i know it is hard when we're all friends and stuff. And even for us voting, like the halfway through the first season, we realized that as artists,
we were voting and it's like, maybe we shouldn't have that because it could like,
even if subconsciously you didn't want the team that's in the lead to keep winning,
you might start voting against them. So yeah, it's, it is interesting, the whole voting thing
and how to decentralize and who to open it up to and who can vote when for what. And
yeah, something we've been dancing through.
I'm glad, Yoshi, you feel pretty good about it
because I think we've found a pretty good balance, at least for now.
So we're trying, people.
If you have any feedback, please let us know.
We're happy to weigh all options.
Definitely appreciate you guys coming up and sharing.
And definitely keep an eye on the Tezos account for upcoming announcements.
I think it's going to be really fun to see what happens there.
Appreciate everybody for being here real quick.
Before we get to UTP, I just want to say hello and reset the room real quick.
Thank you guys so much for coming to another community call with RT Friday.
We only have a few minutes left, enough room for maybe one or two more people to talk.
But we definitely appreciate you and do this every single month,
the last Friday of every month
opening it up to anyone that wants to talk about the art they've been working on and thank you so
much for being here Ben Art I see you down there Minnie Mouse we've got OG we've got June DeBloom
in the building Aria and one here thank you guys so much for tuning in Amir thank you for being
here another thing I wanted to shout out is to
make sure that you tune in to the TZAPACS contest going on right now. Amir is one of the judges for
that, and it's a pretty exciting contest. I submitted my piece this morning. Zero, thank you
for being here. SkullsArmy, Lila Art, Randall, you guys are awesome. Saji, I see you've joined as well,
and Atina. Vanessa, thank you guys so much.
Again, this is Artsy Friday with Tezo's comments.
We're going to wrap it up here soon.
But TP, how are you doing today?
Can't see.
I'm good enough.
There's some major fires happening in the north here.
So that's always worrisome.
I'm also a Red Cross Supervisors
Emergency Response Team. So I think we have been activated for the last week for many
northern communities. But I actually wanted to share some artwork, not to bring everybody down
on that. That's just a reality of living in this climate.
That's kind of our climate.
Northern climate does include forest fires because we are filled with forests.
I don't know what else to say.
I'm an environmental science graduate,
so I could speak more on that,
but I'm not going to.
So right now,
I just actually wanted to share something
that I was doing,
and I'm just going to read the post.
I put it up here if you don't mind,
and then I'll explain it
and why I've decided to pop up. going to read the post I put it up here if you don't mind and then I'll explain it and why I decided to pop up so this is the post it says I'm minting this piece for those
of us that we am boarded to Tezos on our IRL multi-chain on-chain lab event I also wanted
to offer it up to you if you would like an addition airdropped DM me the Addy or if you
want to be on board to Tezos, I will help you,
as I have done since the spring of 2021. So many IGMs, DMs explaining proof of work and proof of
stake in Q1, Q2, 2021, lo. We have come a long way. So yes, a free community artwork piece. Let
me know if you would like one. I love this Northern vibe. So this is an MP4 that I made,
and I did the audio mixes and animation for it.
We had an event.
I'm a co-founder with three others for OnJay Manitoba,
which is a nonprofit now in a year or two of Web3 building.
We've had a few community events here in Manitoba.
Most of the members are down south.
I'm in central Manitoba.
And so we had an event where I offered
to create an artwork and onboard anybody
that wanted to collect one.
And so we ended up onboarding.
We only had like, I think, 13 people there or something.
So we ended up with, I think, 12 people that we onboarded.
One person was already on and already a collector of mine on Tezo.
So we managed to onboard in our tiny little event some new Tezo's collectors
and, you know, just little bits here and there.
So in response, I I said this is the piece
that I am minting and will give to collectors and I also wanted to offer it to anybody that
would like one so I've sent a few there's a few people and I ended up onboarding in a previous
post of this somebody new that's a big ETH collector so he sent a message and said he'd
like to to be onboarded.
So, you know, it's those little steps that we take.
So yeah, I just thought I would share that
if anybody wants a TP5,
which is my collage based photography lens,
analog digital artwork,
which is indigenous futurist, I call it.
And I think I've probably, let's see, I think my collections on Tezos are
about 10,000 Tezos, pretty close. And the majority of that has been completely brought in. I looked
at my, what are my statistics for how much I've spent and how much I made. And I think I was minus 4,500. So I made up always like,
I'm here for the art, clearly. And just to be clear, I've even in the last year, I think I've
brought in literally had to convert fiat in order to collect. And so I am still one of those people
that's not, you know, just cycling the tokens through, which is perfectly reasonable.
But I'm literally having to bring money in because I'm not making sales.
I'm not pushing sales either.
That's a different thing.
See, I'm giving away art.
There we go.
I don't know.
But anyways, if anybody wants one of my TP5, this is, it really reminds me of our north up here with the tree lines and stuff.
And it's really kind of cool.
I do a mix of glitch stuff and cyberpunk stuff.
So with a little bit of photorealism.
So anyways, if anybody wants one, that's all I wanted to say.
And I hope everybody has a lovely weekend.
And my quench, I'm Teepee from St. Teresa Point, First Nation up here in the north.
Thank you for coming up.
It's good to hear from you again and really appreciate the free drop.
I'm sure that a lot of people will take you up on that.
And you pinned it to the top, right?
Okay, cool.
Yeah, and it's down below.
So the original post, yeah, if you want one, just maybe indicate on the post so that I
know to look for you perfect um and i
will definitely there was a few that i sent out um so this is the second post i'll make sure i'll
be minting i'll leave it kind of cycling over the weekend and then probably monday i'll mint
the exact amount i need so yeah awesome well thank you again for coming up and sharing. Skulls Army, what's up?
How are you?
Hello, my friends.
Hello, hello.
How's everybody doing?
Doing great.
It's great to hear from you.
Fingers crossed for our collaboration for the TTC contest.
It's good.
It's good.
I had to abstain from voting. And then I found out that
I couldn't vote myself anyway. So abstaining is the only way I can kind of vote for us is by not
voting for anyone else. So I felt good about myself for abstaining. And now I kind of feel
dirty about it. But what are you gonna do? I had to I popped popped in earlier but then i had to drop for a work call
but i'm glad i i uh caught the ending here yeah absolutely thanks for coming in and you got a
minute to like update us on anything before you hop out yeah no i wanted to say that reject finally Finally, V1 is out. We're in prod. R-E-J-K-T dot X-Y-Z.
So everybody come check it out.
Follow us on X and dive into the art.
And please give us feedback.
I want to keep building and improving.
This is mine and Paul's V1.
So hopefully there's 1 a thousand versions to come and uh you know as
as tezos art evolves so do we but uh it's out and we invite everybody to come take a look
that's huge that's exciting congratulations on shipping and absolutely everybody should
go check out reject um tell us the site name one more time make sure to pin it
to the top and i'm sure you have it pinned in your profile oh geez i should have been ready for this
like i said man i'm coming from a work call so i was like okay
i have one today that i that i like i i got a little uh got a little creative with AI today. Nice.
But yeah, this is our... KT.xyz
reject.xyz
Go ahead. Awesome.
No, I was just going to say this is a great project, guys.
Definitely worth checking out and
navigating and seeing if you enjoy
the experience.
Skulls and Transparent Art.
This is their first iteration and we, the experience, Skulls, and Transparent Art.
This is their first iteration, and most of us in the room know that these are two heavily contributing individuals to the Tezos community, so it would be really cool for everybody to
show up and try their new tool.
Don't let me pin it into the call for some reason, but,
you could find us on X,
R E J K T X Y Z is our handle.
I don't know if anybody else can find one and pin it,
but it won't let me.
Gotta love X.
You're also kind of going in and out of rugging,
but we heard you and reject is now live and everybody's hopefully going to go check it out uh and thank you so much for coming up what a big announcement this is
something they've been working on in the back for a while kind of hinting towards you can even see
sometimes uh reject kind of sneaking its way even though it was not like live live up onto the um
charts on object.
So there's something there for sure.
The beta testers knew it.
Anyway, thank you guys so much again for coming to Tezma's Commons RC Friday community call.
We do this the last Friday of every month.
We hope to see you again next month and continue coming for the other artsy fridays focused on individuals within
the space allowing them to tell anything about their story their art their workflow
their inspirations this space is meant to empower you guys and give you a voice
so we hope we can continue doing that as long as we can into the future you know to 2027 and beyond
so appreciate you guys.
Make sure to check out Zero Contracts, recent new upgrades,
some super powerhouse upgrades.
Make sure to keep tuned in for Tez Tones.
They're starting to gear up and plan for season three,
TezCon 2025, June 27th.
And again, if you find people in the space that are going above and beyond
and building and creating and making moves for the Tezos community, make sure to nominate them for Tezos CRP simply by hashtagging Tezos CRP within a post explaining what they've been doing.
And you can also go to the form, which you can find on our website and within the X account.
So thank you guys so much again. we've got a closing song for you.
This is by one of our very own legends and OGs,
Jay Byrne, who dropped this song called Critics recently. Gotta do it.
Looks like.
I'ma have a job forever.
These rappers straight garbage men keep the trash together.
On me I'm straight harbouring.
These feelings got me fed up.
I've been wondering who's better.
Me or so and so the lesser.
Never let up.
I was born under pressure.
Ain't no diamond.
I'm way harder and way fresher.
Ain't relying on no effort.
This shit matches the seven
And I ain't even clever, really just out here
Tellin' bout the pleasure, tellin' bout the pain
Hope this shit can be a treasure
But maybe they're the same
Look, no introduction, have you rushin'
About to bust a couple rhymes and leave
No repercussions, no discussion, about to bust a couple rhymes and leave, no repercussions,
no discussion, no budget, no nothing, that's why this shit bumpin', that's why the bitches
love it, that's why I'm still fuckin' with this lo-fi, I could do this so hot or so drunk,
it don't matter, wrote a skunk, been drinkin' since the jump, I've been thinkin' that it's
time to move up to the next level, on to the next devil, on to the next shovel Cause I just broke one, burying these low-level
Little motherfuckin' coattail, ride a hoe peasants
I don't mean to be mean
But shit, you don't get it, so it's forbidden
I just spent like five digits
Try to tell me that the sky's limits
I don't give a fuck. I despise.
Another banger from J burn.
As always,
make sure that you enjoyed that to go listen to it with headphones. Enjoy the visuals because that's always the best way to experience the digital music coming out on Tezos.
