one of my near and dear to my heart collaborations from early on in the Tezos journey.
This is a collaboration between me and a clan that we called the Wu Tez Clan, me and four other artists.
And it is called Wu Tez Back, featuring Mt. Gox, which is Lobweeji here on Twitter.

No problem. We're together. Stronger. No problem. in the room just know this is our first time doing a space with a translator so we're just going to play it by ear it'll be my my learning experience and a little bit of a learning curve

ado let's get into it um we will be posting the thread uh we actually have that up already
and um definitely check out the gym gym of the week thread talking about some of doug's work
and we will dive in a little bit further now um one of the things that i really think is very cool
that doug has going on is the sketchbook collection and i just want to give you the floor to kind of talk about
that inspiration what what started it how how long it's going to take for the project to finish and exactly how you plan on doing the giveaway and stuff like that for the physical sketchbook

Então, basicamente, essa ideia vem do meu desejo de conectar a arte fÃsica com a arte digital e NFTs.

E todas as peças criadas dessa coleção, elas são numeradas, todas as páginas.
Então, qual é a ideia? Quando ser vendida

I've been watching the sketchbook for a while, and I like every single one I see,
but it seems like the inspiration is very scattered.
So I guess my next question is,
is there a general theme that you're using, Doug,
when sketching in here?

and it's something very personal
depending on the specific time that I'm drawing it.
So there are no fixed theme around the book.
It will be a mix of different states of mind
and how he feels when he's creating.
This creates a really nice glimpse into his state of mind over a period of time
and his creativity and how it expands and like it's interesting how some choose e como ele expande. É interessante como alguns escolhem

really appreciate as i look through this collection is there are certain pieces where it's almost like
it's not every single one but there's certain pieces where it almost feels like the lines
became part of the composition itself uh for example number 14 titled trip with the guy in as linhas se tornaram parte da composição. Por exemplo, número 14,

sempre tento trazer um traço mais limpo.
E essa sacada das linhas eu acho muito interessante para usar para mexer com
formas e achar esse lado um pouco fora do comum do meu desenho que seria mais o personagem e misturar
um pouco as linhas né? forms and following the lines are very important. And I took this opportunity that the pages
have already had the lines to follow them

in the lines that are already there. Which I'd say is pretty intuitive, really.
You look at the canvas that you're going to be working on
and you work based off of what the canvas is offering you.

It really struck me as a unique thing.

for its unique execution and for its utility because at the end of the day I don't know
if I've seen something where an artist is like giving away an entire sketchbook of their daily

Absolutely. And that you actually kind of read my mind because the next thing I was going to do is start moving towards talking about the Yellow Faces collection.
Because that is Doug's genesis, the first collection that was minted on Object, as far
as I know.

On Object, I think, yes, but this collection started on Polygon first.
The first Yellow Faces were on Polygon, and then he started doing it on Object and Tezos. So for... Doug, if you don't mind... e depois ele começou a fazer isso no object.

So there's obviously an identifying style that is introduced in that first collection that we then continue to see.
And I'm curious about the inspiration behind the signature Doug's crypto face.

e eu já fazia exatamente esse trabalho que eu faço hoje
de distribuir esses rostos pelas ruas.
Então, quando eu vi as NFTs, eu pensei,
pô, eu já tenho uma coleção NFT nas ruas.
E essa era a verdade,
porque eu sempre fiz um personagem diferente do outro.
Então, foi incrÃvel quando eu vi esse mundo. Eu pensei, pô, por que não fazer isso, né?
criar uma arte digital, quando ela for vendida, a gente pintar na rua e unir o melhor dos dois mundos
então essa ideia dos rostos, o Crypto Face, o rosto que eu faço
já vem desde criança, sempre desenhei esse estilo de personagem
justamente pela frustração de não conseguir criar algo
não criar, mas não conseguir copiar o desenho dos outros
então eu me senti na situação de criar meu próprio estilo de desenho
e desde então eu venho desenvolvendo ele
Então isso vem do começo da minha arte de rua
eu sempre desenho esse tipo de personagens
porque eu não tinha o conhecimento of my street art, I always draw this kind of characters
because I didn't have the know-how to paint
or to create other people artworks.
So I decided to go on this style.
And when I start seeing these artworks on the wall
and I knew about NFTs, I look at it and said,
oh, I already have NFTs on the street.
So it will be interesting to create the NFTs first.
And then when people collect it, I will paint the same artwork on the street.
So that's how it started.
And he was already doing it and he's uh kept uh keep doing it uh i i would say every day
i i don't know but uh he he keeps uh working on always on creating that connection between the
physical world and the digital art and for the uh physically painted in the real world versions, is there somewhere where people can go and like see a catalog of like photos taken of those pieces around the city or something like that?

onde você pode ver diretamente no Google Maps, onde está localizado cada um dos meus trabalhos.

with a google maps and see exactly where each place is each artwork is painted provoking you
know so there is literally like pins on like digital technology where you can actually, that's really, really cool.
We made sure to sum that to the top.
Yes, Kryptonio already did it.
And I knew that he had something like that.
And also he does all of this around Brazil,
not entire Brazil, but he always ride the bike.
And on another space that we were, he showed one day that he ride so many, I think it was over 600 kilometers, painting around those places.
It was incredible.
and it looks like as i'm scrolling i actually do see for example um it's not a yellow face so i
don't think it's technically one of the uh paintings for an nft but spread love on like
there are pic there are within the collection if you want to see some of his physical street
graffiti art there are pictures of the physical on things like an outhouse and stuff
like that so people listening in the room if you do want to see some of this graffiti in its
truest physical form there is some of that within the collection so basically I was Estava a dizer que avisar as pessoas que podem ver

e eu sei que tem algo a dizer

Então, normalmente, assim, os lugares que eu
escolho para grafitar são aqueles lugares
que eu vejo que não tem um retorno público,
algum lugar que está sem cuidados público
e que tem aquela necessidade
de um contato com a arte,
aqueles lugares onde, às vezes, até o governo não chega,
mas a gente consegue chegar com a arte.
E o grafite aqui no Brasil é bem recebido nessas comunidades.
Então, esse é um dos meus objetivos principais,
é ocupar esses lugares para levar a arte em forma de amor para as outras pessoas.

Então, basicamente, o que eu faço é procurar lugares que não têm muita visibilidade,
e muitos deles são abandonados, e mesmo o governo não faz nada nesses lugares.
e grafite é muito bem-vindo para essas comunidades.
E a arte grafite é muito bem-vindo para essas comunidades.
Por isso, eu fui lá e tento pintar nessas paredes para trazer mais color e amor para as comunidades.
Inclusive, no projeto NFTs Become Street Art, que pintamos aqui na Vila de Pescador o primeiro mural de grafite, como é que você chama a coleção? NFTs become street art, NFTs se tornam arte de rua
basicamente ele criou uma coleção especÃfica
NFTs become street art
onde ele pintou em um lugar, em um pão
e não havia grafite de grafite de qualquer forma
e o fato de que ele vendu a NFTs no graffitis at all. And the fact that he sold the NFT
allowed him to get those funds
and create that artwork.
And in his thought and for his knowledge,
there's no one else doing something like that.
And that's how he do it and innovate uh creating the the the bridge between the nfts and the real
world and bringing more more utility not just for the nfts but also to create more um
colorful place for for those uh communities in it it's a very creative use of the technology and a way to expand and enable your local
efforts with the technology in the community outside of your local region. forma muito criativa de conseguir utilizar os NFTs para providenciar algo para a comunidade.

the goals that he has in life uh like going going to the to read the janeiro uh to to do things uh
there uh next may 15 he will go there again to create another, be a part of other collaborations and exhibitions.
And that's the main advice he repeated several times for people, for artists to keep creating
and the right opportunity will show and the light will shine.
And I do agree with that advice.
I'm sorry.
And soon also he will be going out of Brazil for another country.
It's also another dream that he has and everything has been possible just because of the NFTs.
That's beautiful.
And there's something really, really loudly to be said about that with the way things have been recently, especially it can be done.
And like Doug said, a lot of it has to do with consistency.
Another word that comes to mind is persistence.
