Thank you. Thank you. All right, GM, GM, folks, good afternoon, good evening, wherever you are in the world
Today, we have an absolute banger of a
space we're gonna let the room fill in a little bit we're gonna get um all of our panelists up
here today but it's been about um two weeks we're about halfway through season one of avalanche's
battle pass and if you don't know well you're gonna know today because i've been
having a good time um getting through the battle pass i'm currently on the free edition still
that premium edition is looking super spicy at only ten dollars um there's a ton of great games
competing there's some amazing rewards and hopefully I can squeeze some alpha
from our panelists today of what those snowflakes are ultimately going to turn into
by the end of the season, and we'll see if by the end of the spaces I bust out that wallet and spend
that $10 on a premium battle pass. But we're going to give you all the info that you need to know
today about Avalanche's Season 1 Battle Pass.
I can't wait to get into it.
Thanks for coming today, and thanks for having all my amazing panelists join me.
So I'm just getting some links out here to folks who are still trying to join us, and
we'll get kicked off here with uh some little introductions let's go around
uh the horn really quick and just uh let me know who's joining us from uh each account and then uh
in a little bit i'll also ask all of you you know what your what your games ultimately do but
bloodloop who do we have do we have uh pascal behind the account gmgm can you hear me oh yeah
we got you loud and clear, brother.
Perfect. It's about your being here, guys.
Awesome. Well, thank you, Pascal.
I know that it's been crazy few weeks
with your epic games launch over there, Bloodloop,
and it's been popping off like crazy.
Definitely one of the funnest action hero shooter games around and congratulations on
I'm sure you still have not slept since we talked last on our last spaces, but thank
you for taking the time today to join us.
DeFi Kingdoms, one of the stalwarts of Avalanche and ultimately the entire Web3 gaming space.
These guys have been up, down, up, down, and around.
Who do we have joining us from the DeFi Kingdoms account today?
Hello, hello. This is Bolan.
Bolan, good to have you, brother. How are you doing today?
Doing well. Glad to be here.
Excited for this space and looking forward to getting into it.
Glad to have you, Bolan. Thanks for taking the time.
Spellborn, do we have Ghosty
behind the Spellborn account?
Super excited to be here.
And as someone who has been
playing most of these games,
I'm a huge fan of the Battle Pass.
Love to hear it. Love to hear that the games themselves are also grinding that XP, getting some snowflakes,
and ultimately getting some sweet rewards for all these other games on Avalanche.
You know, I love to see the community come together, offer some great prizing,
and ultimately lead to more discoverability between games you might have not played yet.
So kudos to Wills. We're going to get into his baby here on why they created the Battle Pass along in a partnership with Playful.
So speaking of, Wills, how are you doing this morning?
Doing absolutely phenomenal, sir.
Very, very excited to talk about the Battle Pass.
And yes, I definitely do view the Pass as a bit of my baby.
Lots of parents involved in this bad boy.
And I think that, you know,
I'm excited to talk about all the different efforts that have gone into making this,
this a great initial success and, and how we're going to keep pushing the envelope here,
because I think that there's so much to dive into in terms of, you know, how does this address
problems fundamentally in work three? And does this you know expand the opportunities
of what you know blockchains can do for their partner games uh and and you know what we want
to look to accomplish uh with this in future but i'm uh you know this is just the intro i'll save
it for the rest of the show well i can't i can't wait to see what happens and plays out for this
season one but if you're calling something season one i think that alludes
to there being a future uh and maybe a season after season one but who knows maybe i'm reading
too much uh into that um so would love to to dive in more later about you know what your plans are
for this battle pass experience and the battle pass experience is actually a partnership uh with
a great platform, Playful.
We've got Patrick from the Playful side.
How are you doing today, Patrick?
It's awesome to see everyone here and, yeah, excited to support.
We have a lot in store and, yeah, excited to drive a lot of usage and awareness
to the Avalanche ecosystem and all these games
and low-key um if you guys haven't like actually gone on the battle pass yet i put it up at the
top it's got step-by-step instructions a free nft on magic eden go connect your wallet create your
account on the avalanche battle Pass site powered by Playful.
And like low key, some of these things like give me a tremendous headache.
And I'm like, oh, my gosh, stuff is failing.
One of the most seamless, easiest experiences that you'll have to set up something in Web3 literally takes five minutes max, guys.
So if you're also like scared like yeah
i don't know if i want to do this i'm like a little lazy or like shit breaks all the time
kudos to patrick and playful um the tech behind the battle pass is super seamless and makes it
really easy just to jump into games and get rewarded uh for probably the games you're already
playing so if you're already playing some avvalanche Battle Pass or Avalanche games
and you're not on the Battle Pass yet, I'm telling you, you're missing out.
And so speaking of Avalanche games, we've got Harry from Paradise Tycoon.
Harry, how are you doing today?
I'm doing pretty good, pretty good.
but I think I'm going to survive
to be in these spaces with you all guys
a really amazing opportunity
launch pass, so really, really excited
looking forward to discussing more
Okay, the man who needs no introduction uh one of the
most prolific gamers in the space the big dub dub do i even have to ask are you farming snowflakes
are you playing the avalanche battle pass season one oh yeah dude i could be a lot better i'm like almost level 10 right now it's
really cool because for me i'm like i'm not really discovering new games i'm getting pulled back
into games that i've known and i played like the first alphas of so i'm stoked to stoked to get
back into them and see what the latest is um if there's not a season two, I am going to riot and cause problems
because this is also one of,
I'm also one of the parents
that rightfully will call this one of my children.
I pitched the first AVAX battle pass
to Parker three years ago
when I was over at Soulbound.
So from, you know, copy and pasting and making a freaking fake landing page on Canva to seeing
the playful team executing such an awesome, seamless thing and knowing that it's going
to be like an ongoing existence in the ecosystem and how we're going to go after more gamers
and reward them in cool ways
and have historical provenance. All of my free time is going to the AVAX Battle Pass
lately as far as gaming goes, so great to be here.
Honestly, not financial advice, but especially there being a free path
and some great rewards being associated with it.
It just makes a ton of sense.
Get rewarded, play great games.
If you're a new player, awesome.
If you're an old player, brings you back in the game.
And speaking of the games, we did some brief intros
about who's behind the accounts.
But for folks who might not know these games intimately or, you know, have have stepped away a little bit and just want to refresh their memory of who these games are.
I want to quickly go around the panel to our game guests and have them, you know, tell me a little bit about the game.
What does the gameplay look like, and ultimately, where is the game available to play, whether it's Epic Games or the web,
or how players can get involved.
So Harry, you were last on the intros, I want to give you first on telling us a little bit more about Paradise Tycoon.
awesome awesome thank you yeah so paradise tycoon for those that who don't know much about the game
Awesome, awesome, thank you.
it's a very cozy multiplayer game uh it's a it's a builder game it's really really approachable
and players create their own tropical islands uh paradises but basically complete quests in the
game and collect resources,
craft and trade with other players. So it's social and it's creative and it's live right now
on browser, Android and iOS.
So we're fully multi-platform from the beginning
and coming to consoles also later on.
So we also have the money token coming
and the Paradise Layer 1 is in testnet.
And there's a lot of stuff coming this month
and in the following months.
So keep your notifications on Paradise Tycoon.
We are definitely going to drop some bombs here.
So yeah. So and about Paradise Tycoon, we are definitely going to drop some bombs here. So, yeah.
And about Paradise Tycoon, it's the flagship game.
It's the first game in the Paradise ecosystem.
We are building this bunch of games that tie together all the NFTs
and all the assets are kind of like in the same universe.
So we have Paradise Legends already in pre-alpha testing. together all the nfts and all the all the assets are kind of like in the same universe so it's uh
we have paradise legends already in pre-alpha testing actually inside paradise tycoon so that
was pretty innovative also to do it that way but yeah we're building building a paradise ecosystem
with a lot of stuff so get in there start building it's really easy to start and build your own paradise.
This sounds like an avalanche paradise to me.
And it's also so exciting
that all of these games, you know,
are building out their games.
They're building out their ecosystems.
Like Harry said, you know,
different uh platforms as well as expanding you know the game titles and still um everyone found
some time to to you know figure out some rewards figure out some missions to participate in the
avalanche battle pass um and really want to to just shout out that appreciation to all the games
So build your own paradise.
Get into some Paradise Tycoon.
Ghosty, I want to go to Spellborn next.
I know you guys have been cooking
but for folks who aren't familiar with Spellborn, tell us a little bit about it.
Yeah, absolutely. So Spellborn is a monster collector MMORPG. You can collect monsters, you can farm crops, you can catch fish. Fishing just went like one hour ago.
Fishing just went live one hour ago.
And you can do this with your friends.
You can participate in guilds.
You can participate in PvP tournaments.
You can create your own tournaments.
You can design your own houses.
It's all the elements of nostalgic games put together.
And you can play it on any browser.
You can play it on iOS, Android.
And it's also coming on windows mac and linux very very
soon uh it's a cross-platform cross-play game and you can just make friends you can catch
monsters you can farm props you can um you know participate in the rpg elements of the game
and it also has a single-player storyline where your decisions matter a lot. So each quest has some decisions to make,
and your decisions kind of open up hidden quests,
and basically a lot of surprise elements in the game itself.
Overall, the game is very, very approachable, I would say.
It doesn't really have a learning curve.
If you have played Pokemon before, if you have played Stardew Valley,
you should be able to find the game
It does have newer elements on top of it,
trust elements and so on.
So that makes the game much more interesting.
And overall, with Spillborn,
we're very, very transparent
with our development cycle.
We push monthly updates, even weekly updates as well.
You can check our change log that probably has about, I think, 18 or 19 updates.
Before that, we did monthly updates for about 30 months.
So you can basically find everything that we have done from the beginning of the project.
And I think this is probably one of the more community built
games as a lot of the elements that you see in the game are designed by our community members
so community members also contribute art to our game sometimes they are also contributing
development and you should be able to find multiple native guilds that are built around
our game if you want to participate in those. And our token is also coming very, very, very soon on Black Hole.
I think Black Hole is also listening to the space.
So yeah, if you are a DGN, if you are a nostalgic player,
if you are a multiplayer player,
you can find some sort of relevance inside Spirgun.
Make sure to check us out.
And if you have any questions, always feel free
to DM our team members or me personally. We are always listening to feedback and improving the game.
Holy moly. Ghosty coming in from the top of the mountain with all the alpha. I can't even begin
to unpack all that um fishing just
went live in spellborn i wonder if i can catch some monster fish um but that just sounds like
a total vibe um he shouted out black hole which uh i see them down in the audience thanks for
hanging out if folks don't know about black hole yet, go click on their profile. I think they just hosted an arena space the other day, which was massive.
They're a major native DEX coming to Avalanche,
and I know that they've been cooking a ton on the gaming side.
So hopefully I can get spaces in the future to highlight Black Hole.
But they've got Black Token coming hole but they've got black token coming out
they've got a launch coming out um apparently they've got spellborn token coming out too
so uh massive alpha uh coming from ghosty uh and black hole so uh that is that is awesome uh to
hear uh bolan uh i want to ask you know how's the kingdom going and what's going on
with defy kingdom you want to give a little intro to folks who who don't know you even though you're
probably one of the most og web3 gaming games uh in the entire space yeah man i appreciate it that's
a that's a great intro although it's gonna to be really hard to follow up on all that alpha drop, but I'm going to try.
Yeah, so for anybody who is not familiar with DeFi Kingdoms, we are coming up on actually four years since our original launch, which is super exciting. And we're just over three years already since we launched the first public Avalanche L1 at the time subnet,
which is still going strong and absolutely love being on Avalanche and our L1 on Avalanche and our RL1 on Avalanche. But for those of you that don't know DeFi Kingdoms, we are an on-chain RPG where you command your legion of heroes and send your heroes out
questing for resources, crafting those resources into other resources, and fighting. So we have
both PvE combat, boss fights, as well as player versus player combat, and tournaments as well.
Our combat is a 3v3 turn-based system, so you come in with three heroes, your opponent
comes in with three heroes, or you get three monsters if you're playing PVE, and it is
and it is all real-time turn-based combat. So much like has been mentioned, very nostalgic. If you
all real-time turn-based combat.
played, you know, turn-based strategy games, you're going to be, you know, somewhat familiar
with how our combat works. It is fully custom and everything's going to be a little bit different,
but a very similar style to some games that have been around for a long time. Everything's also done up in pixel art for that
extra nostalgic kick, and then we have absolutely amazing music that is custom created by our
composer throughout the entire game as well. So there's a ton of activity, there's tons of
things that you can do in DeFi Kingdoms, but the one that i find most exciting is combat uh fighting monsters fighting your friends fighting your enemies
isn't that what gaming is all about it is it is and and sorry if i missed it bolan but where uh
is defi kingdoms available to play platforms you did not miss it i forgot thank you
defi kingdoms is browser-based uh so game.defi kingdoms.com
love it love it get your uh squad together and and battle your team of monsters uh doug
uh just coming in hot throwing up the hand as soon as he gets on the stage
uh what can i do for you uh mr doug i I was summoned by DeFi Kingdoms because I'm inside the game,
so I can only come into Twitter spaces when somebody summons me through DeFi Kingdoms,
Oh my gosh, okay, that's the alpha too, is we got Doug in DeFi Kingdoms,
so jump into DeFi Kingdoms and see if you can find Doug.
Doug, are you also gonna be in Bloodloop?
I think we should ask Pascal.
Pascal, do you have any intention
of either doing cake cosmetics
or putting Doug in your hero action shooter?
Pascal, tell folks about Amazing Bloodloop and yes.
Pascal, tell folks about Amazing Bloodloop and yes.
So yeah, we just started to, you know, 3D concept artists.
We're working on four dynamics.
Four is hard to replicate in engine,
so we are really working hard on that.
And whenever we get up to that point,
we should be able to add a full, complete,
legendary set of skins for Doug and his cult.
And aside that, yeah, happy to be here.
Bloodloop is a hero shooter, actually an arena shooter game.
And I'm finally proud to say that it's not coming live soon,
You can go ahead and download it on Epic Games Store.
We launched June 23rd, and we've been publicly live since then.
We're currently running our Season 1
in the Early Access build of the game.
People can compete for our monthly leaderboard.
To participate, you need to purchase an in-game battle
pass that comes in with BLS tokens.
And as you play, you get through the leaderboard.
And apart from progressing in the in-game progression crafting
creating your unique skins and and going through everything you also get the chance to win some
cash prize on the side the game is going great uh we are smashing through our goals when it comes
down to onboarding and we have a lot coming soon to also make sure queues and everything else are
shorter than what it might be in a live service game like this. But apart from that, happy to be building on Avalanche so far.
We are integrated in the Season 1 on the Battle Pass only for social FI activities,
so interacting with our social, joining our Discord and so on.
But we should be there for Season 2 with in-game quests and everything else,
as we were extremely busy to get everything ready for Season 1.
Although the playful team was exquisite to us and tried to get and ready for season one although the playful team was
exquisite to us and tried to get and fit us in as much as possible we were not able to
fall through with the with the integration but we'll be there for season two okay well
pascal letting the cat out of the bag uh i guess there is a season two coming um and bloodloop is going to be participating in it um well you tell i had
no i didn't want to sorry no you could say oops to wills wills has to has to deal with that question
later now um but so exciting um also bloodloop mentioned they have their own battle pass something
that's really exciting for that battle pass top 20 percent of uh the leaderboard uh for
that battle pass at the end of the season is going to get some cash prizing and rewards
so be sure to be playing blood loop and be getting to the top of the leaderboard i know doug has been
grinding and dub if you have not been uh grinding blood loop they got some really cool stuff with their
battle pass definitely recommend uh to check it out um we had a few new speakers join us on the
panel so i want to give them a brief shout out and let them introduce themselves uh colin from
eclipse layer one colin how are you doing today hey, everyone. Sorry for being a few minutes late here today,
just catching up on the conversation.
But hey, guys, I'm Colin.
I'm the founder of Eclipse L1.
We're a gaming L1 oriented towards removing the complexities of blockchain
and allowing users to interact with Web3 games
as if it was in a Web2 environment.
Awesome to vibe out with the group here.
Thank you for joining us and thank you for making seamless interoperability happen between
not only L1s on Avalanche, but across the crypto chain sphere.
We had Black Hole come up here.
You don't have to speak if you don't want to
uh because you're a secret secret uh project that's coming out soon but black hole if you
want to say hi uh and tell us what black hole is really quickly you're more than welcome uh to
introduce yourself hey uh so this is mash behind the account. We're a new decentralized exchange coming to Avalanche very soon.
We actually just announced that we're closing public testing tomorrow.
So you guys can do with that information what you will.
I'll let you guys guess when that is.
But essentially, we're a VE33 protocol, kind of similar to Pharoah with a few different utilities and also similar utilities.
But we have a very big focus on the gaming and AI sectors.
Not sure how active you guys are on our accounts, but we've onboarded quite a few games from other chains like Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum that will be bridging over to Avalanche bringing liquidity here. And also, I don't know how much I can talk about battle pass stuff, but with more
games coming to the chain, there's also more opportunities for the future battle passes.
So I guess you can do with that what you will as well that there's a lot that's going on and a lot that we're
looking forward to um doing as soon as we launch oh dude i love it i feel like um i'm in scooby-doo
and i just ripped off the mask of the black hole account and then it was just mash and i was like
oh all right well uh we know who's behind the Black Hole account. But also, if you have not checked out their feed
and what's going on with Black Hole,
they might have or might not have posted a blog
about something, about an airdrop with some black token.
Definitely missed out on a great opportunity
to go with B-Hole as the ticker,
but that's neither here nor there but yeah
check out black hole like mash said concluding public testing so something might be coming soon
and i want to know what's coming soon from wills and patrick if i could see some maybe black hole
battle pass quests in the future where it's maybe you know i'm interacting
with some tokens on the avalanche blockchain uh you know do a little swappy swappy of spellborn's
token or provide some some liquidity on black hole maybe earn some snowflakes by not just playing the
games right but by supporting them on chain through avalanche native defi opportunities but
just wanted to throw that out there uh to wills and patrick because i'm i'm a big defi head also
and would love to to see that integrated in the battle pass but we've talked a lot about the games
they sound amazing i'm itching to play um and i want to know how i can get rewarded by playing
what's going on with snowflakes what's going on with Snowflakes? What's going on with EXP?
I know we're about halfway through the Avalanche Battle Pass,
but Wills, I want to throw it to you
and just tell the audience, you know,
what is Avalanche Season 1 Battle Pass,
why they should get involved now.
There's plenty and plenty of time before the season ends
and what they can sort of expect in terms of, you know, earning snowflakes, progressing through.
And if you can tease us at all on what those snowflakes mean ultimately for the end of the season and raffles and things.
Yeah, absolutely. So at the fundamental level, the Avalanche Battle Pass is a celebration of games on Avalanche.
And I think that that's something that's really lacking in the Web3 space is kind of just sitting back and allowing people to play games in a way that, you know, rewards behavior that's already happening.
that's already happening.
And that's one of the really exciting things about Battle Passes.
I mean, it's no secret that battle passes
are a very prevalent way of allowing users to engage
in games in a way that they get rewarded
and feel as though they're moving
and progressing through a pass.
And I think that that's what we wanted to provide here
And we have so many amazing games in the ecosystem as evidenced by those present on the panel here today.
We really just wanted to find a way to not only give back to our players, but give back to those games and provide those games an opportunity to be on the poster board, be on the front page of Avalanche Gaming and in front of Avalanche
gamers across different ecosystems, different game genres, and make sure that everyone gets
a piece of the pie of the Avalanche community.
And also allowing a vessel through which potentially non-Web3 native gamers can get in and engage with these games.
Because if you're not familiar with blockchain technology, but you're playing Bloodloop or Paradise Tycoon
and you hear about this battle pass, this is a way in which you can educate yourself on the Avalanche ecosystem while also receiving rewards. So I think that's the fundamental way that we approach
this from, really to address kind of one of the big problems in gaming at the moment, and this is
across Web 2 and Web 3, which is discoverability. And I know a lot of the panelists have experience in user acquisition,
and I'm definitely looking forward to hearing Harry's takes
on kind of the state of the industry on that front.
But I think anything that we can do as an ecosystem
to support our games from a UA standpoint, we want to be doing, because that's a real struggle
for many games at the moment.
And, you know, we definitely view ourselves as kind of the Web3 publisher side of things.
So, you know, supporting games as much as we can within the Web3 ecosystem.
And this is us kind of expanding out
into that more traditional web 2 space so we're super excited and motivated with how how things
have been going so far i'm sure patrick will have some cool stats to rattle off uh at some point
but fundamentally uh to kind of get back uh to the actual past i think that you know it follows a
very traditional structure
that you would have seen in many other games it's got a free tier and a premium tier and as you go
across the the past rewards these are going to be um you know either explicit rewards uh for for the
games that are members of the past and you know they can be in-game currency, items, NFTs potentially, all that being hosted through
Playful's wonderful architecture. And you'll also be earning snowflakes and snowflakes kind of serve
as the soft currency of the pass and how they function is you can use them to spend money on
XP boosts, rerroll your quests if you're
looking to play a specific game but if you stack up your snowflakes uh each of them is going to
serve as a as a raffle ticket uh for the end of the season and and and the end of season raffle
is is a way for us to really kind of give back to those who have been investing in the past investing
time and investing resources into the past um and to have a shot at these kind of really large rewards and important rewards
that we can include at the past because they're just a little bit more rare and a little bit
more special and ensuring that it gives our kind of dedicated past players a real avenue
to kind of feel like their, was put to good use.
So that's, that's kind of the fundamental way that we've been,
we've been thinking about the past experience.
And it seems to have been super well received so far.
Also just stealing Dove's idea and running with it is never a bad idea.
But, you know, just pulling in Dub,
because, you know, he also mentioned besides the discoverability,
also the retention aspect, Wills.
You know, I think there's a lot of folks
who might be playing a few extra off-the-grid matches
to make sure that they get their, you know, missions done with off-the-grid.
Or also, you know, re-engagement in terms of coming back into games that they might not have been playing
just because they want to get some of that EXP and build up the snowflakes.
So I think, obviously, the discoverability, learning about the great games, you know, who are guests here,
but then there's also so much more
uh that the battle pass brings to the community and the ecosystem so really really you know
personally having fun uh with this first season um and i'm excited to see how it evolves and i do
want to talk to patrick and you know this playful partnership because i am actually like absolutely
blown away you know most questing platforms in
the space like can't even handle a single game like they get broken um so i don't even know what
the total number of games are that are participating in the battle pass but it is crazy to me that
patrick and playful have been able to set up the attribution so that you can get rewarded for all of these different in-game achievements across all these different platforms and titles and IP.
And it's all been working, you know, great so far.
So, Patrick, do you want to talk about a little bit, you know, about Playful and, you know, partnering with so many titles and literally you just flexing on every other questing platform out there?
Because you're like, oh, we can not do this with just one game, but we could do this with like tens of games.
Yeah, no, thank you for the call out. And, you know, it's also a shout out to all the games and
AVAX working with us to, you know, get all the integrations done. Because to your point, it is a lot of heavy lifting. But the good news is we just have a killer team.
And we have a really strong foundation for this season and future seasons.
So, you know, I would definitely say that, you know,
season one here is positioned as more of like an open beta.
Season one here is, you know, positioned as more of like an open beta.
And we really wanted to structure this so that, you know, we could really get the Web3 gaming audience involved in testing a lot of these integrations,
both on the event, you know, API side, but we also have a rewards API that makes, you know makes dropping rewards into players' accounts seamless.
And so with this infrastructure working well, we're excited to expand even more for future seasons.
And to Will's point, this is just the beginning.
This really makes AVAX the destination for Web3 gaming.
This really makes AVAX the destination for Web3 gaming and gives everyone also a home,
you know, to kind of discover new games and to dive deeper into the games that they're
And so we're just excited to support and we have some cool surprises, you know, in cooking
But, you know, we'll share that, you know, when Will, Wills gives me the green light.
Wills, thumbs up, give him the green light. Let's get the alpha. But Patrick, are there any like
initial stats or highlights that you want to give from, you know, these first 15 days of Battle Pass?
Anything that's, you know, surprised you or you or has it all been pretty much as expected, going pretty good?
Yeah, it's been going as expected.
You know, I think, you know, we had a lot of, you know, a good relationship with Magic Eden as well to help, you know, with the mint process that went smoothly.
We have, you know, over 5,000 mints now. And
we're definitely excited to drive more users and more conversions to each of the games. And I will
highlight that in particular because we you know, we're not, you know, just focused on, you know, driving vanity metrics or, you know, things like that to the games.
Like we actually are driving downloads and in-game actions.
And so we're really focused on how to help the games with their KPIs, whether it's D7 retention, D30 retention, even monetization.
And we have some really interesting partnerships coming in to help that.
So, yeah, we're pretty excited to really use this as a tool
to drive a lot of the in-game KPIs for our game partners.
Yeah, I heard monetization,
and that makes me the most excited.
Black Hole sitting up here, wink, wink, smile.
I also noticed that there is both a premium battle pass tier
Doug, what level battle pass are you, and do you have a premium battle pass tier besides the free tier doug what level battle pass are you and do you have
a premium battle pass yet uh yes i am premium i think i'm around 11 or 12 right now i've been a
little bit slacking but i have been doing at least some of the quests every day um i have to admit
i have a problem i'm addicted to rum Rumble. Was it Rumble Arcade?
Rumble Arena? Rumble Arcade, yes. There's so many cool games coming to Avalanche that some
people might not know about. I'm going to be doing a game night and some kind of competitions
with Rumble Arcade too. Yeah, so right now my battle pass status i'm
probably not in the top 10 but i'm going to work to get there and i'm really excited for all these
projects coming to um avax because i think the positives the quality that avax has is quality
quality of people quality community quality of leadership, quality community, quality of leadership. And the only thing it's lacking compared to some other chains is a little bit of volume.
And I see that people realize that and they're driving and bringing projects like Black Hole to AVAX
because people want long-term quality as opposed to just the quick things nowadays.
So a battle pass is such a great thing to fit into that kind of mantra because it's a long, you know, who knows how long this Battle Pass could go forever, right?
And give you continual rewards for the games you're playing and the games you love.
So that's where I'm at right now.
And I don't know, maybe somebody here is higher than me on the leaderboard or higher level than me, but I'd like to see.
Well, hopefully I'll be chasing you
there doug i'm i'm really excited about the premium battle pass because the math is mathin
uh you know not not to be financial advice but you know there is a reward in the premium battle
pass of 0.75 avax the premium battle pass only costs $10 to purchase. 0.75 AVAX currently is more than $10.
So I think the math checks out there. Wills, I just want to ask you, you know, if there's any
difference that you want to call out between the Premium Battle Pass and the Free Battle Pass,
little bit of of why you have those two different tracks and then after that i want to go around uh
to the games and panels themselves to highlight some of the rewards that they have in the battle
pass and and tell the audience you know why they should get excited about you know what you guys
are offering but but wills tell me tell me about this premium battle pass uh and what the difference
is yeah no it's it's relatively straightforward i mean i i think because we're in web 3 it has a
little bit more of a more of an onboarding element to it uh i think you know you can think of the
premium battle passes the same way that you would think of uh you know and it's like whether it's the the fortnite or the halo or whatever fps battle royale you're playing these
days it's a very it's going to be a very similar experience to that premium battle pass it's going
to be more rewards uh more higher quality rewards and more frequent rewards um but because we're
operating in the web 3 space and we're using this as an opportunity to
onboard more web 2 gamers you can look at the premium battle passes as as a way to get get
more skin in the game in web 3 and learn a little bit more about how these assets work where these
uh you know uh how how this ecosystem functions without having to necessarily step fully into the non-custodial wallet experience
and allow users to get onboarded in a more seamless way than traditionally has been the case.
So that's why it really excites me.
But otherwise, it's just more rewards, and everybody loves that.
Everybody does love more rewards, and I want to open up the panel here to our games,
talking about the rewards that they're offering, letting the crowd know what they can win through
the Battle Pass, and why should they care. Feel free to raise a hand if you want to.
Otherwise, I can just go through the panelists.
Harry, Paradise Tycoon, what can folks win through the Battle Pass for building their own paradise?
So we actually had a discussion with our designer about the rewards.
He was a bit worried about them being too valuable.
But we came to the conclusion that this is such a great initiative that we want to have really good rewards in the battle pass to reward everybody who was playing and claiming those rewards.
So we are, in a way, trying to support that way,
to have very valuable rewards.
And the rewards that are in the past are cosmetics.
Cosmetics play a really, really huge role
in Paradise Tycoon and other Paradise games
because you can show off with your cosmetics like
if you have had some special gear or very valuable gear so that's like you get boasting rights when
you when you wear good swag and we also have very valuable resources that you would need to find from Makubo Jungle, for example,
a very, very hard location,
and also health potions that are worth Moani.
So there are very, very good rewards.
And yeah, we love the initiative here from Alliance,
so we wanted to give a little oomph with the rewards also on our side.
I love the generosity coming from Paradise Tycoon.
So that's also part of the discoverability and the incentive is like,
hey, the rewards you're earning from this battle Pass may be more valuable in one game than another.
You should probably go check it out
now that you have more than just starting at zero
So if you earn some of these awesome Paradise Tycoon rewards,
Spellborn Ghosty, do you want to talk about
what you've got in the battle pass
yeah of course so uh in spellborn the main goal is to capture all the monsters capture the best
monsters captured monsters with the best stats and for us with this battle pass you know with
playful uh throughout this partnership our goal was to make sure that we reward the players with things that would actually matter in the game economy, rather than just, you know, push out some lowly rewards.
So overall, players can win three different things. First is gold nuggets. Gold nuggets is a soft currency so you either spend our bond token which will be coming soon or you spend gold nuggets for purchasing things inside the game itself, you know purchasing other items and so on.
So that's the first thing you get. Second thing is prismatic crystals. These crystals are essentially used to capture monsters and prismatic type of crystals are the ones which have a hundred
percent accuracy so if you see your rare monster in the wild if you see your you know a shiny in
the wild you can just use a prismatic crystal 100 percent guarantee to capture it and the third
thing that you get is a random monster with two stats boosted. Two stats boosted means that their stats would be minimum 50 out of
63 minimum and this is for two stats of that monster which makes it much much more rarer.
For example finding a monster with a single stat above 50 is about like five percent chance so you
can imagine how difficult it is
to find a monster with two stats that are above 50.
And these can be ranging from 50 to 63.
So it's a very, very valuable monster.
And the best part is that you can capture these monsters,
you can use these gold nuggets to, you know,
buy health packs or whatever you want.
And then these monsters become tradable
So you can trade these monsters for AVAX
or, you know, you can trade these monsters for our token.
And it's up to you on how you want to move forward in the game itself.
But this is the best earning opportunity inside Spillbond.
That is to capture the best monsters
and trade them with players who do not
have the time to capture monsters but want to build out the best ones through breeding through other
methods and so on oh my god i love me some some boosted random monsters um wow uh ghosty also
coming in with the big generosity and and also being able to uh exchange those monsters
for some some token down the line get yourself on on black hole um but really what it sounds like is
it just makes a lot of sense if you're playing these games as well if you're an existing player
get in the battle pass and get some extra rewards um for the game you're already playing. You know, you guys are being so generous, not only to new players to come, you know,
have a really good first time experience in your game, but then also rewarding your existing
community and players with some extra loot.
If they go over to that Battle Pass, you know, get that XP going and get these rewards.
I'd be really excited playing any of these games.
what do you got for the people in the Battle Pass?
So DeFi Kingdoms is an entirely open and player-driven economy.
So our NFTs are all created in game and traded amongst our players.
So for the battle pass, what we have put up for rewards is something that we call vouchers.
And essentially what the vouchers allow you to do is go shop for NFTs and we pay for them.
So you can, you can go buy heroes, you can buy pets, you can buy equipment and you're,
you're actually buying that from another player who either created it or bought it themselves.
But instead of spending your own funds, you spend ours.
So it's, like I said, it's called a voucher, and it's very flexible.
So, you know, they're fully decimalized.
You can buy multiple NFTs with them.
You can buy one NFT. You can overspend and fill with your own currency to make up for it if you want to.
Whatever you want to do, it's essentially its own token.
But when you buy an NFT with those vouchers, we pay for it instead of you.
I cannot handle not only the level of these rewards,
but the diversity of these rewards. And I have no idea what magic Patrick is doing in his black box
to be able to deliver all of these in-game rewards
to Battle Pass users across all of these different games
and actually getting them in the hands of players.
Pascal, Bloodloop, do you
have anything in this Season
1 or should we more expect
Season 2 to be the big loot? What you got?
You should definitely expect
Season 2 for the big loot.
What's coming for sure for season
two uh if and when will be skins uh free battle passes on our side uh in game crafting vouchers
so you can actually go ahead similar to the fact in them and create your own stuff without having
to pay a fee to to get skins or crafting going in game so we're trying to give out as many inputs into the
ecosystem as possible so that people can explore uh the the the gameplay loops that we put up for
for the players as much as possible love it love it well um you know we are coming into the last, you know, 10 minutes here.
Dub, Doug, if you guys have any questions, feel free to, oh, Doug does have a question.
I'm like, me and Dub are like a duo where I'm like the more talkative one and Dub just stands there like looking at you like, yeah, you better, you know, like that new trend
Like you better, Doug has some cake to show you and you better look at this cake. You better take a good look at, you know, that trend.
And Doug's one of my favorite people. And, you know, one of my favorite things to do, Alex,
is hang out with people, talk about this stuff like we do here. And I haven't had a show in a
while, like my Twitter space, but I'm launching a new show called Massive about mass adoption and all these things. And I really want to highlight the founders, builders, and people
that are involved in this ecosystem, because it's not just the founders of projects. It's also some
of the content creators that are doing a really great job highlighting the things on Avalanche.
So any of the projects out there, me and Pasc are already buddies, but Black Hole, DeFi Kingdoms
were buddies. If you are interested, and I've noticed a lot of people putting post-ups to say
like, hey, what are shows we can go talk about and share about what we're doing? I think that's the
next generation of content creation because KOL is whatever you call it, is really just trying
to spread information as much as we can of like who people are, what they're doing for long-term plays or places that they want
to actually be and be part of.
And I really love the Avalanche ecosystem and the team here, Alex,
Coop and Parker and everybody and everyone else that's in the Web3 gaming
community, Dub, Sam down there, Preds,
like super amazing people that we get to hang out with and be part of their
lives, go to conferences, hang out on the internet all the time and this whole thing is just super super
amazing so um yeah I want to connect and highlight people as much as I can that
are doing really cool stuff all of you guys here and and I'll support each
other because there's so much cool stuff happening right now and the way that we
get success and win is by sharing more of the
information of why and and what you want to be a part of and connecting people together
dude that is massive doug and and hopefully uh i can come on one of your shows in the future i
know all of us uh definitely miss hyped, and you always bring such positive perspective.
This is going to be live, though, with video and explosions.
Are you going to be – are you also going to be your news anchorman self?
There might be a lot of different things happening.
Oh, it's going to be lit.
I have a whole room full of things and characters and stuff or whatever i'm sorry i'm not trying to make it all about me
but like i just really love content creation and creators and builders here and like and i'm
inspired by like people like dub and sam and peyton who just dropped like an amazing cool uh wolf uh
video the other day animation yesterday like really cool stuff happening in this space and
more people out there need to like take their eyeballs off of like you know just whatever the
hot meme coin is on something and just come hang out with us i agree and we need to build that
community we need to highlight the great builders um and we got to play more avalanche battle pass
and like you said shout out to the community that makes this all happen thank you for
for hanging out in the audience sam preds uh frenchy we've got avalanche vietnam the foundation
uh i saw adam from from warp games down there there's there's so many red triangles in the
audience no chileos um bloater little fishes from defi kingdoms um people just rock in and representing avax uh want to close out
the space in the last five minutes wills patrick are there anything that folks should be looking
forward to to the last sort of second half of this battle pass or look forward to the future
of battle passes is there going to be any sort of you know maybe little bonus for if you participate
you know in all the battle passes where it's like, hey, you should probably get into this battle pass because if there's a future one, you know, you might get a little boost for playing in the previous one.
Wills, any alpha that you can give us? Any words of encouragement for the folks to jump into the season?
of encouragement for the folks to jump into the season?
Yeah, I mean, the main point of encouragement to hop in now is you can be earning rewards
right now. You know, a reward now is worth more than a reward later. I think that's an
economic theory or something. But I think the one thing I did want to share was a little sneak peek at what we're going to be offering as far as a kind of raffle rewards.
We've been giving away a lot of NFTs and other rewards that the panelists just shared, specifically related to games.
But we also wanted to reward gamers just for being the nerdy nerds that they are and collectors.
just for being the nerdy nerds that they are and collectors.
we are going to be throwing in some pretty cool Pokemon cards into that raffle.
So if you're into collecting Pokemon cards,
definitely crank some more missions,
and you might be getting some super rare ones in the
raffle at the end of the season. Just as a little thank you for everyone engaging in the past. So
that's something to look forward to. Oh my gosh, there's the alpha that I was looking for. Okay,
get those snowflakes. They count as raffle tickets for the end of the season. We're giving
Patrick even more of a burden. I don't know how he's going to airdrop a Charizard into my wallet,
but I'm excited to see how he figures that one out.
So thank you, all of our panelists, for joining.
Bloodloop, DeFi Kingdom, Spellborn, Paradise Tycoon, Black Hole,
Eclipse Layer 1, Playful, Wills.
Dude, you're absolutely crushing this battle pass uh i know the
community's having you know a ton of fun so be sure again guys it's a it's a free mint on magic
eden to get that battle pass uh up on the jumbotron this thread has everything you need to know
go to avaxpass.playful.com and start earning rewards today.
Because like Will says, a reward today is better than a reward tomorrow.
Can't wait to come back together and do another Season 2 Battle Pass space.
And see all the great progress from the games.
As well as see what great rewards are coming out.
Good luck to Black Hole with their future launch um and good luck to all the games out
here for everything that you're cooking uh and uh thank you to the audience uh for coming this
the space is recorded so if you missed any of the great alpha insights or info. Be sure to re-listen from the beginning.
And Doug, Dub, thank you guys for coming up and co-hosting.
It was awesome to hang out with you.
Anyway, have a great day, everyone.
