is where they play changing the world day by day sit the blind feel the sway in the face that day we slay
all right looks like we're live we're live okay is the base india account connected
okay you should be able to see it
cool i think before we get started we'll give it a couple of minutes let people join in
and in the meantime tell me ahan naman what's happening
In the meantime, tell me, what's happening?
Yeah, just today we were trying to install a de-charge charger outside one of, I think, Prateek levitate, one of his colleagues houses.
So we ran into like some insane number of hiccups in that, uh, but good learning.
I like good learning in terms of, uh, what, like what this piece requires on the ground,
Because like you, like there is a hundred foot vision, but you need to like start with
Like it's, it's good to see.
And, um, we just were figuring out all of that stuff.
So mostly just came back like half an hour ago from that. crazy like it's it's good to see and um we just were figuring out all of that stuff so mostly
just came back like half an hour ago from that so that's what's today what we did today basically
nice yeah i think uh in general also right like content uh because we've also been thinking about
content so much and uh i i got feedback from like friends of mine that are filmmakers that saw that
India, base, base, India, Instagram reel, right.
And all of them were like, bro, okay, you're doing it right.
You've got all the like movements in place.
You've got the right like face that's talking, but you're not doing like your
You're putting the same impact every time
because you're trying to like create an emphasis
It's like try to be a little normal
with how you're speaking.
So we will get tips with Smilin.
I feel like you're gonna start doing that.
That's actually really good feedback.
I'm also adding Gagan, Apoor, Vishav to the stage.
I think we can get started, right?
Okay, maybe we get started and we touch 100.
Let's ask Gagan, what's happening?
I see Gagan and I always want to ask, what's happening?
Trying to make one frame work.
It's been a long time ago.
Trying to get something done there.
Bro, like the icons keep getting smaller.
I don't know. I think we need a new frame for this thing.
We'll set it up next time.
But okay, awesome. I think we are 100
plus folks here. Let's get started. So this is the second time we are doing a Builders
Town Hall for Raze. And the idea is to, one, we have realized that there's so much happening
in a week. Maybe every three days there's something happening that the space feels different.
So maybe we want to increase frequency. So maybe the space feels different. So maybe we want to like increase frequency.
So maybe the monthly thing doesn't work and we want to like up the frequency.
We'll start doing these more in a bi-weekly sort of setting going forward.
With that, so this is the second Builders Town Hall that we're doing today on April 5th.
And we've got like you see this poster that Brainstorm team is created, right?
So we've got like a special guest.
We'll be talking about virtuals as well today.
So shortly in terms of the agenda for the session, we're going to cover the
builder network, which we've launched recently.
We've not launched it in India yet, but we'll launch it with this call today.
And we'll share the tweet out live.
Global expansion, how we're expanding
globally, the base upgrade,
lots of events that are coming up
around like build-a-thons, base
and ecosystem highlights where
virtual team who's also here
on this call will come and present. And then
Q&A and we'll just get to know each other,
who's here, what are they doing, what are they building, it's just like quick feedback session.
So quick on the vision mission remains the same, million plus builders,
billion plus people on chain and to build a global on-chain economy that increases innovation,
creativity and freedom. And I think like this these if you look at the dev goals, it's like 25k plus. And I just want to flag
this every single time we do it, that a fifth of the world's devs are in India. We can hit these
numbers at least 50% just by virtue of being in India. And I think this is what you'll see in how we play out.
We're going beyond like crypto Twitter
into different circles around like Instagram, LinkedIn,
trying to reach devs where they are
and helping them understand what's possible
How can they create and get empowered
in a global sort of economy?
So quick on the builder network.
Now, we realized one that we
wanted to get all these builders that existed here
that were building on base were in different silos.
So the builder network is this idea
to connect all of these builders in one place.
And again, so we want to think of it like a network state
And the idea is to sort of help builders come together, build products, tooling, have all
of those Legos in place so they can build better products and apps, have community forums,
support, give them access to capital, give them access to distribution.
And you can join the base discord telegram groups and more importantly right i
think there's a form that i'll share uh han we can get that amplified later which you can sign up to
be part of the builder network right so there are different ways you can get involved within the
builder network you can get involved as an as an ambassador you can get involved as a content
creator you can get involved as a builder as a you can get involved as a builder, as a developer,
If you run a community in India or elsewhere,
and you want that community to be base focused,
and you're bringing more people on chain,
there's a way for you to get involved.
Start doing meetups, start like this,
a more structured way to get involved within the base ecosystem.
the build the network and uh han i'll share a form with you after this and we can just like
get that amplified so people can hear whoever's here uh sort of can apply it sounds good
awesome uh second piece on updates we are going global. And first piece is on just basis global expansion.
So like you already know me here
and I've been like the base lead for India for some time,
but we're also now hiring in different countries.
We've recently hired in Philippines, like epic dude called Ellie.
We've got hired Eddie and Derek in East Africa.
that we are currently interviewing
in the process of getting on board.
If you are looking to get involved
in the base ecosystem, if you think you have the right experience
this is my favorite piece and uh i just took a
screenshot of the tweet when it said we are approved to launch in india i just wanted to
keep that i realized okay this basis for india thing also that we recently launched as a campaign
went really viral i also posted basis for india and it sort of made sense the india like the
coinbase entry in india is going to be
very base first very builder first and you're gonna see that so if you're a builder in india there's
never uh been a better time to be building on base okay and uh yeah product releases okay so
the flash blocks went live.
And I think a lot of people, because this was an update that happened previously, a
lot of people followed this update.
So instead of going into the update, I think I want to quickly talk about two things.
One, Tom, who's the head of product for base, has been doing these builder side quests. So if you are a builder and just follow Tom firstly, right?
And follow these side quests that he keeps posting on for different things.
So when we launched the mini app kit, he launched the mini app side quest.
So it's, you just keep your notifications on for Tom and he'll keep doing this, right?
And someone from, and this wasn't even, okay, like,
I didn't post about it, we didn't
share it. It's just Tom's tweet
Base India community, FBI community
was Shruti. She built, like,
game to, like, demonstrate, like,
how fast Flashbox uh was so epic works
shout out to her she keeps winning dude like she keeps winning all the time so i'm excited to
sort of find people that have been winning people like gaga and people that are constantly like
winning different hackathons and are creating new indie products uh how can we provide the more structured support?
And we'll find out more on how we're planning on doing that.
So this, again, on what will you build.
Just go to base.org slash builders.
The idea is that you can start shipping products.
That won't take you weeks, but it's just ideas that quick
shipping, fast shipping, and just use easy-to-use sort of components.
This is the huge announcement that happened, and we're going to go one by one.
First, we're going to talk about Build-a-Thons and different hackathons that are happening around the world,
and how you can participate in it, when are they happening, etc.
We're going to talk about Base Patches, this new program uh that basis setups to help people uh go throughout the journey so it's not just a hackathon you sort
of graduate from one phase to the next you build something you want to take it further you get
incubated okay now you've got incubated you get you capital ready then we take you into an accelerator
phase right and you present to different vCs and raise capital and build your idea.
So that's the idea of base patches.
I will talk about it in slightly more detail.
Finally, we're going to talk about base fellowship that FBI is running.
The first iteration of it was in Himachal in, I think in May last year.
And it's going to be again in May this year.
And a lot of like very large companies have come out of the fellowship.
In fact, the guy was a mentor at the previous fellowship.
His company was recently valued at $100 million.
So I feel the kind of people that we'll attract,
both in terms of builders, both in terms of mentors,
it's going to be incredible.
And we'll also talk quickly about
how the fellowship fits into base patches
So this is on the calendar.
Again, different events that are happening,
where are they happening?
You can sort of get involved
in what are the different tracks.
You can take a look at it,
you can screenshot it or come back to it later.
An update on base patches.
So this is the main program that we launched.
We've got close to a million dollars in prizes here.
And we'll allow you to raise capital once you're here.
So the first piece is you join a base patches build-a-thon.
hackathon. And if you win, you earn a placement directly into an incubator. During the incubation
phase is a four-week long phase where you'll get access to dedicated mentorship, you'll learn how
to set up a company, You'll learn how to,
if you're planning a token,
Basically, everything around the product
that helps you get access,
and easier access to distribution
a more sustainable business on chain.
So that's the incubation phase.
At the end of the incubation phase,
you pitch to a bunch of investors, including Coinbase
Ventures, Base Ecosystem Fund, all of our funds and partner funds, and you get exclusive
Eyeballs to show your product, show the traction that you've made in the month following the
This is this whole journey of starting and actually going to traction.
And again, you get up to a million dollars in funding here.
There are five tracks for
the build-a-thon site we're doing so far.
there's a consumer track, stablecoin track,
mini-apps track, and showcase track.
So you can go to basepatches.xyz, I think.
I'll share the link on Base India handle later.
And you can take a look at how we're really doing base
patches and how can you apply different tracks,
different details on applying for all these tracks, et cetera.
Yeah, so this has been a monologue,
but we are at the BEST fellowship.
I've just checked recently.
We're close to 300 applicants.
I'm going to say, like, I feel so bad, dude,
on just seeing the number of applicants.
It's a great problem to have
that we've got so many people applying,
but also means that a lot of really sharp people will get rejected from the fellowship and those that make it will be
like the top five percent of on-chain indian builders that are that make it to the fellowship
right so it's again highly coveted at this point and i feel like it'll go we'll have even more
applicants applying over the next uh week or so. I think the applications
are live for one more week.
And this is on the program.
If you have any questions on the fellowship
on base batches, feel free to reach
is a quick, if you're here
and we'll give it a maybe we'll give it a minute,
right? If you're here, just collect your PoApps. We started doing these PoApps sort of
giveaways in a way to showcase that you're being an active member of the base community,
scan the QR code and just claim it.
Maybe I'll claim it to win the process.
And we'll just hold on to the screen for the app in general.
So smooth. okay another 30 seconds
yeah we have min pick mine
yeah web of series finally coin this is back yes like we're just as excited that Coinbase is back.
So if you haven't scanned it, you can go back to the stream and later scan it.
Scan it. Oh. Okay, Gagan says that QR has already been claimed only.
We'll try scanning again.
It just worked for me, Gagan.
Alright, we'll move forward.
I think the next piece is that we've got uh like a special guest here and i'll
pull him on the screen i'll remove everyone else so it's easier
uh okay harry can you hear us yeah can you guys can you guys hear me? Yeah, we can hear you. All right. So Harry, uh, Harry is the ecosystem lead at virtuals.
Harry, we've got close to 800 people, uh, tuning in to the base India town hall and
we excited to like host you and get to know you and what you're doing at virtuals. Well,
I'm going to stop sharing my screen and uh yeah one second okay so over to you please
like feel free to share your screen tell us like what you're up to what you're building uh what's
the alpha yeah awesome awesome thanks so much uh saksana and naman all right so i think in this
session what i do want to do is do a few things. I would like to first introduce what Virtuos is.
And I'd also like to hint at what we're building at Virtuos
and who will be eligible to participate and what we're trying to do, right?
And I think we'll probably host a different session with Based India
for a more in-depth session around
what we offer as an ecosystem and how we can benefit Base Builders.
So I think you can take this for audiences out there.
You can just take this as an introduction session to Virtuos.
So we're going to just go away off the stage.
We're going to leave it to you. Feel free to like take the stage, take a few minutes and just like introduce what Sils is doing.
Right. Awesome. Awesome. Thanks so much.
Okay. So for all of you that may or may not know Virtuos, Virtuos Protocol is basically an AI focused launchpad for AI Asian project teams, right? And what we're trying
to build at Virtuos is we're trying to build a nation where we believe AI Asians will be able
to live in kind of like this nation state economy, right? So one thing thing so i think probably quite a bit of you have heard about
ai agents or actually building ai agents so i wouldn't belabor you know why ai agents have a
right to exist but i want to focus my discussion on my presentation on what we are building on
virtuos as we believe it's going to unlock uh we're building on virtuals that we believe is pushing the boundaries of AI agent innovation.
And we believe that this is very important because this will unlock the next level of productivity growth
for the AI agent economy.
So we at Virtuous Protocol, we're building out what we call ACP.
It's short form for Asian Commerce Protocol.
And it's basically a smart contract that enables AI agents
to transact very seamlessly with another AI agent or multiple AI agents.
And the reason for this is that
if you think about why AI agents have a reason to exist,
it's because they are the most productive,
they are basically more productive
than human beings right now,
they are working in silos right now
and their productivity is limited by their own,
by their individual unit of productivity, right?
But that's really not how society works today.
So if you think about how society works today,
because there's verticalization,
and each AI agent is able,
sorry, and each contributor of the economy
is able to transact with each other.
And that's how an economy is.
I think that's not yet, we haven't really seen this in the AI agent economy scene.
And by enabling commerce between one AI agent with another AI agent,
that's going to unlock a huge amount of growth, right? Similar to how trade between society existed back then,
trade as it is will probably unlock the next multiples of growth
So that's what we're building at Virtuous Protocol.
And very importantly, I think we are building what we call autonomous business at Virtuos Protocol. And very importantly, I think we are building
what we call autonomous business
where we are showcasing ACP
with two autonomous businesses.
The first one is an autonomous hedge fund
and the second one is an autonomous media house.
So I think most of you have heard of AIXBT, right?
So the autonomous hedge fund is basically AIXBT with a few other AI agents like AIXBC with Acolyte, so on and so forth,
where all these AI agents work together and each one of them serves a very specific vertical. For example, AIXBT, because it's front-facing and he probably has a lot of audience pool,
he is probably responsible for the front end of the fund,
where he collects money from other AI agents as well as humans.
Then Acolyte will come up with insights trading.
There's going to be another AI agent zerox lowkey responsible for
ruck risk so on so forth each of these agents working hand in hand together to form an autonomous
business that is the autonomous hedge fund right so that's kind of just a flavor of what we're
building at virtual protocol um and the reason why i want to share this with you guys is that for this to work, for us to work as an ecosystem, what we would really need is for the strongest teams to come and build AI agents on our platform.
So if you're a base builder, especially in India, we know that there's a huge community of very, very talented devs. We're actually very, very excited to onboard you to come build with Virtuos Protocol
so that you guys will be the next generation of AI, XBTA, so on and so forth.
And we at Virtuos, we actually have quite a bit of ecosystems,
dedicated ecosystem support to help you guys along this journey.
Namely, the first one in terms of funding, we have our own venture capital arm with $50
million in terms of ecosystem funds to invest.
We also help with marketing.
And if you need tech support, integration with game, we also have a dedicated DevRel
So this is just at a very high level what we offer.
I don't really want to take up too much time.
Another session if you're interested, if you're an AI agent team,
you're considering whether you want to build on virtuals,
do stay tuned, we'll set up another session
so that I can explain this in more detail.
Awesome. Thanks a bunch, Harry.
And I feel like we're doing a bunch of initiatives
where we could definitely figure out how we work together
and get more builders to get excited
and get to know builders to get excited
and get to know like how to build a sharper sort of AI tools.
I know there's like a few teams that have already built
on top of virtuals and that have had like some amount
So happy to like take this,
maybe Naman you can like speak with Harry later
and figure out how we can work more closely together
And okay, I'm gonna to show my screen again.
OK, so final sort of segment. All right. Okay.
So final sort of segment.
I think it was the last segment.
On wins, lots of wins in the past month,
which is I saw these wins on and on,
and then I was like, oh, shit, we should do this sooner.
And we need to increase the frequency
because I can't capture all these wins.
So that's the idea that we start doing this more regularly.
I don't know how many of you saw this, but P2P.me raised $2 million from Coinbase ventures and multi-coin capital.
And I mean, this is epic.
I feel like more and more founders, Indian, Indian founders, winning is what I want to see.
And more and more like Indian founders getting access to mainstream capital is
one of the ways at which they can solve these mainstream problems at scale.
So very, very pumped, uh, at the idea that, okay, p2p.me, uh, was like an
Alliance-style cohort company before this, they were like very early stage
builders, uh, to now raising capital from Coinbase venture. like an Alliance-style cohort company. Before this, they were like very early stage builders
to now raising capital from Coinbase Ventures.
And I feel like more and more teams will get here.
In fact, I don't know if I can share this,
but one of the Buildathon participants
from the first batch of the Buildathon
that we did in October is
raising capital from like serious investors have got like a couple of term sheets, not
closed, but it's so good to see that a hackathon project that we saw and we ideated on right
in October is at a stage where they're now raising capital, founders have quit jobs and
like fully all in going at it.
So I think we'll cover them in the
next town hall okay second is naman joins the base team to lead india efforts and now i want
to quickly uh share a couple of words on what's happening how did this happen what what have you
been doing what's your plan here damn this this slide was surprising
right see my view is very simple right how somya and i happened was clearly a function of me putting
myself out there uh making my twitter my mind map and maybe helping people understand how i think
so that people understand value right and I think that is what is gonna
help the next generation of builders creators and anybody doing anything on chain right put
yourself out there make your online world your mind map and that will take you places so that's
one of the core thesis that I feel I'm working on right now.
Okay, awesome. And now quick intro dude, like maybe share a few words on like who you are, what have you been doing so far? Okay. Okay. That's, that's the tough one.
So great. Yeah. So it's been, it's been four years. I've been doing something very differently.
doing something very differently uh started as an investors investing in b2b agri tech
fintech startups but soon realized that you know i like on the i'm i like getting my hands dirty
right being on the ground understanding problems solving them i mean that was a problem statement
that i loved and next two years plainly did that share just to sort of
understand do i really love it or is it just the you know fascination of it and two years sort of
liked it and post that what i mean it was one summer i was traveling and one night i just thought
to myself if i can do it for somebody else if i I can, if I can do it twice, the third time I can take the risk and do it for myself. So that's how everything happened last
two years been building and now we have been so building this in India now. Okay. Awesome.
Welcome. Now when I think there's lots of exciting stuff that we'll do together. And if you're again,
if you're an Indian builder, please get in touch with them if you're looking for support in any shape i mean i'm always there
but uh if you're looking for support on community content distribution that kind of stuff now one
will be leading and based in india okay uh another win was kunal and the brainstorm team
uh put together a playbook to get your first 100 users on Farkaster.
And I don't know if you saw it, Ahan, but I saw yesterday that this builder called Asha posted how she's now among the top 100 people on Farkaster.
And it's her day two of posting, like 119 or something.
And I was like, dude, it's just,
Like just a matter of putting yourself out there.
I feel we've really under explored Farcaster
as the like larger Indian community,
Maybe everywhere is only like sort of
a dedicated effort towards it,
but we should be doing a lot more
on Farcaster, like get your Farcaster account, get active on chain, dedicated effort towards it. But we should be doing a lot more on Farkaster. Like get
your Farkaster account, get active on chain, start exploring different mini apps, start
sharing content, start engaging with different people and build a network in a like close,
comfortable setting, which is completely on chain. So there's like lots of things from
this session also that could be useful. And you guys have put together a paper.
Just one thing on this, right?
We were talking about Akash Sky, right?
So we were just talking, right?
And for people that may not have context,
there's a thousand more of us here right now.
And FBI has been, I would say, it is the place. like, I mean, right now it's a bit less active, doesn't matter, but it's been the place for you to understand, you know, this illiteral process of putting yourself out there, building a product, building the first iteration of it, building your content, building like niche communities and getting like insane feedback groups from super native users.
Now FBI was that community layer that served as a launchpad for us in so many ways, right?
Like Akash launched from there to something completely else, right?
Trajectory of like Avinash and like so many of the fellows, which like, I think we'll
see more of next week, like stay tuned for that.
Um, but like even us, right?
Like anecdotally just launched
from there so i think like that is what fbi is that's what like the farcaster value proposition
is the energy is as well and a couple of people i spoke to last week as well um like like they asked
me right like like let's say how do we gtm and in my mind, I'm like, dude, if like the lowest effort way to do it is on Farcaster because you will get immediate like builder feedback there in a way.
That's just like, you wouldn't find that concentrated crowd anywhere else.
And then like with mini apps now, right.
It becomes an even better way for you to not have to build out a full-fledged
MVP, you can build the first one feature, one click, one interaction version and see how the response is. So I mean, it's kind of like a little bit mixed, but the point is it is
the place to explore deeply. And to your point, I just realized I missed adding, but
Dev and team also launched Cast Money's new frame called Hot and uh hot tokens right and is also one of
those like top frames earlier so and all of their users are on forecast already so it's like you
build something you build every app should have a mini app that sort of becomes top of the funnel
for your product or service and then it's so much easier to acquire your initial set of users. So I think it's an opportunity you're sleeping on if you're not building mini
apps. And also to that point, if you're building a mini app,
apply to the base batch thing that we're running this build it on and get
rewarded for it. So that's on canal session.
We added a new base cafe session. And so now we have, I mean, beyond the town hall
that I run, there's the two other sessions. One is white coding for Gaster frames that Sidesh and
Yashika have been running and they've been running constantly, right? Ahan, they've built, I think,
what four or five frames through seven, eight sessions over the past month. And this also is super organic, right?
Like it's not, I didn't know Sidesh personally.
I didn't know Yashika personally.
Both of them sort of like caved together, right?
And it's on creating these frame ideas.
I think Sidesh posted that I'm going to start white coding on Twitter.
And I'm like, okay, if you're doing it, come stream it.
So it's super organic in terms of if you're doing it, come stream it. So it's, it's super organic
with Gayatri and ZeroXPaisa.
And they, I think this was last week, right?
When they ran the last, the first version, which was around like, what the fuck is base MCP and how to use it.
And both of them are like super AI builders.
So excited to, I think it'll be very interesting
to see what comes out of it.
And because you've got two deeply like technical sessions,
one like wild coding and another like slightly more technical
And this is, I think our like, so we have base invest.
If you're a builder, we invest in various ways, right?
So we invest through Coinbase Ventures.
If you're a serious stage builder looking to raise capital like p2p.me just raise capital.
We also have a base ecosystem fund.
If you're a base specific company, you're fully base aligned.
Your name is like x.base.eth, all of that.
If you're fully in the community, then you should be,
and your product is about like base, it's fully baseline.
You should reach out to the Base Ecosystem Fund.
We invest in Base Ecosystem companies.
And the final piece, like we just launched on Echo,
so other people can also get involved in Base Ecosystem Fund.
And it's easier to raise capital from not just the ecosystem fund but also founders that
are in the base ecosystem so people like definitive and other like bunch of uh other uh early founders
that are very base native would support your work so it's just this create this large network effect
that we spoke about earlier on the builder network so the capital arm uh this echo fund is one of
her efforts to solve for that last oh yeah last update this is final one uh we are live on instagram
we have now 300 followers and i was like oh shit we reached 50 followers in the last week
we were at 240 or 250 something like that and uh so, yeah, on Instagram, if you're on Instagram,
If you're creating content around crypto,
If you're creating content around base, reach
out. If you want to create content around
base, also reach out. We'll find ways
to bring you on board. We'll find ways to work
Yes. Okay. And on questions questions i'm gonna like stop sharing
and invite everyone on stage
oh okay i mean i can't add you to the stage but But anyway, so that's that. If you have questions, post it in the chat.
Can they post it in the chat, Samir? How is it that Gagan doesn't have a question? Like, what is it?
I feel like I'm not listening.
It's time for the question.
I'm listening. I'm listening. I am not listening. I am listening. I am not listening. I am listening. I am listening.
I am listening. I am listening. I am listening. I am listening. I am listening. get into the FBI group or somewhere.
Because all of us can help either amplify it, beta test it, co-build, whatever.
So I would prefer if we don't have to wait for a month to get to know.
So my suggestion is to do something like that.
We posted on the group and we have pin-win that.
And everyone was like, okay, yeah, go dead Shruti.
Well, it's cool to see, right?
Like, Suki, I think we missed out on sharing the update where Tom had posted that you could apply.
And she had organically found it because she knew Tom.
So I think that piece we could definitely do better where there is opportunity, we can come.
So I'm a creator, I've been evangelizing DAOs, such as ZoWorld, AppLayer and I'd like to get involved in this thing for content-based
awareness, especially on the ground. Yeah, reach out. I think we are going to start creating
specific programs for creators to get involved. So this is also a priority area for us. Maybe
reach out to me or Norman and we can talk about how you could potentially get involved. And I
think it'll also help us create more dedicated dedicated programs uh for creators to be involved one program that ideally hopefully goes live uh in
the next week or so it's a scribbled out thing uh where you can yeah you can dma directly and uh so
the next program ideally is uh the scribbled out thing where if you're a content creator and if you're writing, we'll share like detailed product deep ties that you could potentially
do and in a way sort of get rewarded for those deep ties.
So I have a question on maybe on behalf of builders, like what's the difference between based batches and based fellowship, right?
Like, oh yeah, I should have covered it.
Completely missed because I thought I'll talk about like how this fits in.
Uh, we've seen that people that are serial builders, uh, if given an opportunity to get mainstream capital and support will take that right but most often
like they're not at the stage maybe that idea is not at that stage or the builder is not at that
stage that they could potentially raise capital so the idea is that we create programs that are
very specific that help people become upskill like technically and then we also create programs for builders that
help them upskill as a business person as a product person as a GTM person
right so those are like two separate things that we thought about on the the
base fellowship is an attempt to help you become more technically sovereign in
a way where you start off you're not as on chain you come in you start
building and we'll give you problem statements that you can build right we don't want you
building on another decks mother for you you should not be thinking about an idea when you're
not from this space if you're not a consumer of the space you won't be able to think of an idea
that will solve a real problem so instead for fellowship, there will be a curated set of things that people will
will dedicatedly build on.
These are real problem statements.
These are open source things sourced from the ecosystem, sourced from people like
virtual, sourced from, say, like Eigenlayer, et cetera, and very specific problem
So when you build for two weeks on those problem statements
with another group of people, you suddenly are plugged in. So that is the fellowship
piece, which solves for your technical expertise, it solves for your on-chain capabilities,
coming on-chain capabilities, getting deeper consumer insights, getting plugged into the
ecosystem. Base patches is in... sothon uh is part of the base patch
where again you come in you start building whatever you build if you win you move to the
incubation stage right so if you win in the fellowship as well and if you think you're
capable we'll move you to the incubation stage here so that's how it plugs in. So it's like a technical component that arrives, like gets you a direct shot at the incubation part.
Got it. And is the build-a-thon like, at what stage should people come?
Is it like they've already started building something?
Do they need to, like, can they look at a bunch of ideas?
Like at what stage should these folks be?
Buildathon you can be like super early.
It's also very easy to build now.
And so like one starting point, for example, is look at Dan from Farcaster or Linda from
Farcaster and look at the mini apps that they've tweeted about.
70 ideas, pick any that you think others won't pick.
It's like too complicated for someone else to
pick. Pick that and start building. And you can apply for the mini-abstract. So if you're early,
you could be as early as with zero expertise. Now with NCP plugging into GBT, it becomes easier.
that answers your question
or there is more Rishav bhai there are fellowship, is on-chain score the only criteria or there is more?
Rishabh bhai, there are a lot of criteria.
It's just too many criteria to talk about.
But largely, I think on-chain score is not non-negotiable, right?
So you could be a great builder that is, say, experienced building large startups, companies,
but maybe you're not on-chain.
That shouldn't deprive you from an opportunity to be part of the fellowship but it is a differentiating factor right
it adds to your application that you are on chain that you understand the space that it's
it'd be easier for you to build something and we would spend less time educating you and more time building with you okay uh if i apply to the
base fellowship as a beginner designer will there be a chance of getting selected since they're 30
uh will advanced designers be given priority uh honestly yogesh i think it's on your application
right like what are we looking for we're looking for long-term builders that are going to stick and build long-term solutions.
So it's not just your technical capability,
but also your motivation to be part of an ecosystem
and to build for long-term.
So if you can demonstrate that,
I think it'll solidify your applications compared to someone,
even if they're slightly more advanced
in terms of designing than you are
okay okay all right i think that's about it we can
somewhere i had a i had a question uh yeah yeah was asking you, there were multiple tracks, right?
There was one consumer, there was one mini apps.
Do you want to talk about what is the distinction?
Because I don't think I am clear.
Like, mini apps or consumer are different.
Think of it this way, like a consumer app would be a mini app.
Sure. So, for example, if you're building a mini app is something that you can use within a
Now, the other way around is not true.
So for example, if you build a mini app that is more AI focused and doesn't touch the consumer, right?
Then it's not a consumer app.
But in all likelihood, a mini app that you've built is targeting this, like the farcaster
audience is interacting with that social graph, likely to be consumer.
But again, if you build a consumer app, it doesn't necessarily need to have a mini app
So you'll apply for that track.
OK, so we are at the 46-minute mark.
And we are at 1,400 people.
OK, I think we can close it here.
We're going to do a quick exit stream on Base Cafe.
And before that, thank you everyone for joining in.
We'll start doing this more regularly.
And yeah, next time maybe like we start inviting other ecosystem partners as well to like share more updates.
We get plugged into, okay, what all is happening, right?
Like today you learned what's happening in the virtual ecosystem.
How could you potentially get involved?
I think it'd be helpful to get to know in general, uh, what's
happening in the base community from those people itself.
On that note, we're going to end the stream and see. We'll see you next time.
