And I believe most of our DEPs are open, if not all of them, and that's always like
great to see, right?
We have seen a lot of community members that have taken the initiative to, you know, start
conversations, apply for the grants, provide feedback, and we could work based on that.
But it's not just, you know, Laura's opinion or Josh's opinion or Sarah's or whatnot, is,
you know, what the community sort of like reaches out and tells us.
And yeah, I mean, Josh, I mean, I think one of the things that we want to talk about was heavy metal reveal, and then we have making sure people know about the token proof site, and then we'll hang out and talk some of the community grants and events that have happened recently.
And then we'll just chop it up, and then we'll just chop it up, and then we'll just chop it up, and then we'll just chop it up, hear some feedback, and take some questions.
So that's, that's, that's my plan.
How, what are you thinking?
That works.
I love it.
That works.
Yeah, Laura, what, what did you get for your heavy metal?
How, how are you feeling?
Oh my God, I, I'm, I'm feeling good, and I'm one of those that I'm always like trying to keep up.
I'm like, wait, I'm like, where's the storyline going?
You know, it's like, I need to, I need to read, I need to make sure that I have, like, everything, and then also trying to, for the phone not to get me, because I end up buying a bunch of things.
So I'm like, I don't know, trigger happy, and sometimes I have to just, like, wait it out.
But, you know, one thing that I forgot to say, and I think is really important, and it's our pinned tweet on this page, but maybe if you didn't know about the grants,
it's, it's really important that, you know, you, you remember that we have this token proof submission page, where we are actually gathering all the information for the grants and community initiatives.
How that process sort of works is that after you apply, then one of us could reach out and work with you in order to give you a little bit of guidance into, you know,
maybe the questions that we might have or the rest of the information that might be missing,
and how to, like, better tailor it, and how to make sure that, you know, these events are, you know, not only by apes, but for apes, and the benefit of the community.
So that's something I didn't want to forget, and back to you, Josh, do you get something that you wanted, or do you end up buying something afterwards?
Yeah, I think my favorite, I got a, um, a pretty clean reaver, it's got a, let's see, fang wings, and a falcon head, and little companions.
So, appreciate, uh, Noel helped me, uh, with playing the, uh, the trippy, trippy dash to get the, uh, the companion there,
and then had some other help on, uh, on the original dookie dash.
So, it's been a, been a fun, uh, fun ride.
My, the ones that I played myself are, uh, not reavers, they're, uh, what do I got?
Like, an insect, and a, um, what's this little guy?
Um, but, yeah, I, I love, I love how wacky the traits are, just, like, so diverse, love the mech theme, it's, it's been a lot of fun.
Um, so, congrats to all y'all apes who got, got your reveals, and, um, looking forward to seeing these things evolve, and, uh, I'm playing some games.
So, I, I saw Garga talking about Hearthstone and, and magic, and I was like, oh, maybe I, maybe I need to brush up my Hearthstone skills to get ready for some of these upcoming releases.
So, I started playing again, and my wife was like, really, you're playing Hearthstone again?
Um, but, oh, it's, it's research, don't worry about it.
I love how you're justifying this as research, and I was, I just pinned up top for, like, two seconds, my Celestial, um, because I love it, and I was so excited to share that.
Um, but definitely, like, I could imagine how your wife just looks at you nowadays, like, sure, Josh, sure, sure, playing video games, and, you know, going back down memory line, it's, it's not research, but sure, it is for you.
But, I'm excited, I'm excited to, to see what comes next, and I, we have Ethan here as well, and Sarah, and Peter, so thank you guys for being here.
Um, for some of you, it's really early, so thank you, thank you, and Ethan, I know that today we got started with the newsletter, and I don't know if you want to tell us a little bit about this initiative, and, you know, what, what does it mean to you, and where do you want to take it?
Hey, yeah, thank you, Laura.
So, for the newsletter, I just wanted to sort of create a monthly roundup of all the events we have funded, um, this month and partnered with, and just what they got up to.
So, you know, we have the French Apes, uh, back in March, I know it wasn't this month, but this is the first one, sort of just covering all the ones we've done this year, but the French Apes, French Apes had one in Paris, which is absolutely insane, and the Plaid Primate had one, the Big Apple Apes went crazy in NFT NYC, um, the Ford Supper Club also did an amazing job, UK Apes, big shout out to those guys for inviting me down, that was an insane event, we had a great time,
we drank far too much alcohol, and I got on the DJ decks, uh, like the kid I am, uh, but yeah, it's been such an incredible month at the Boarded Council, you know, really happy to be organizing these events with everyone, um, and, you know, we all just can't wait to see what happens next, right guys?
Yeah, thanks for making that recap, um, looking forward to, I think it's gonna help to have, have, uh, some regular comms on that, and people see all different events, and what's going on, and, and get the news, so, um, lots of fun stuff coming, and, uh, yeah, keep an eye out for, for the next edition, give, give this one a read.
Thank you, Ethan, and, you know, I, I was speaking about this yesterday on my own space, and how, you know, networking is so crucial, and it's so crucial not only, you know, to, for, I don't know, for the industry, and professionals, and career advancements, but it's so important when you're building a real community, and real relationships, and real, you know, friendships, and meaningful ones, that are long-lasting,
and this is why, you know, part of the goal is to really gather each other wherever we are, and, and there's so much power in that, even if you're gathering with people that are local in your area, or you're traveling somewhere, and you end up partaking in one of these, you know, events, and, and that is something meaningful to each and every one of us.
So, to me, it's encouraging people, you don't have to be an event organizer, you could get help from someone else, you could be something small, and more intimate, but the idea is to always keep in mind, as in like, how is this benefiting, like, the greater community, and not only myself.
And, and in that sense, this is how these grants will continue to, to make an impact, and to make sense, to expand our, our network, because we, we can't expect everyone to be in crypto Twitter all day, we can't expect everyone to hang out over our Discord, even though we will love that, it's just not probably the reality for, for each and every one of us.
So, it's like, how do we encourage people that perhaps don't feel as included with this IRL experiences, and that we have them, to me, like, one of the most exciting things I've seen, you know, the European groups, and the Asian groups, like, really getting involved, and, and showcasing, hey, we are here, we are present, and we're excited to, to share some time together.
And, and sometimes that can only rely on the community, like, like, led, but at least we are, you know, giving some funds, or even exposure, sometimes it's not only about funding, and it's about exposing this to the greater network, for people to find out that there are these circles forming, that perhaps you are missing out on.
So, um, I always encourage people to, you know, try to, like, stay updated with us, to reach out, if you are in a community where you think there's not many of you, perhaps one of us already has a contact there, where we could, you know, go ahead and plug you in, and start those relationships.
Yeah, I think, like, to reiterate that, yeah, we, we love to see both small ideas, and, and big ideas, but really, I think, emphasis on the small ideas for, for grants, and they don't all have to be IRL, some of them can be virtual, and it doesn't all have to be, I think, some people feel a pressure, like, do I need to plan this enormous event?
Um, and I think, you know, the, the more little events we can do, the more apes we can reach around the world, just, you know, just from kind of a scale and a breadth perspective, and so, yeah, like, like, we'd love to hear, see applications and see ideas that aren't just like, all right, I want to do, you know, this big city, big event, you know, rent a club or something, but, yeah, little, um,
smaller ideas from, from the club, I think, are going to be extremely welcomed.
A hundred percent, and, and also to, to touch base on some of the, the feedback that we have received, and that we have seen, um, I think it's important for, for the community to, to sort of understand that side of our role, and is, hey, gathering the sentiment of the community, and, and we hear everyone, when everyone, everyone is like, you know,
when Ape Fest, we get it, it's like, we are asking ourselves, so, I was like, sometimes we just, we gotta be a little bit patient, and wait it out, but it's not that we're not listening, it's not that we're not hearing everyone, when they're asking us for, like, a particular day, and whatnot,
but hopefully, you know, we'll hear from it soon, but the last thing we want to do is, like, start speculating, and say, you know, things that make absolutely no sense,
or start making promises when, when we can, so, sometimes when, you know, we, we have hosted the spaces, or we're thinking about hosting more regular spaces,
there might be a lot of questions, and we're probably going to open the floor in a little bit, that
we can't answer, and it's not because we don't, we don't want to answer, it's because we, we don't have
that information just yet, and we're not in, in those particular roles, and sometimes, what I, what I make sure is that
people don't get that twisted, so, even sometimes when I'm at IRL events, and people ask me, I'm like, I, I don't have that
information, it was like, I can't tell you anything, because I don't know anything, um, regarding, like, the specifics
of where is AFES, or when is it, or what to expect, but when the time comes, make sure that, you know, for sure
we're going to be promoting that, and, and sharing with the larger audience, um, but, but that this is
supposed to be a place for, for fun, for gathering, and for us to, to almost, like, think as a community, how
could we continue to push this forward as individuals, and not just only depending on, on yoga.
Yeah, I love that, I saw, um, you know, some apes are going to, um, flying in for, like, BAYC Taiwan, um, community event,
I think this, this weekend, and, and so, yeah, there, there's a lot of energy, where there is some, some support
from the council, but also, yeah, we're just a club, and we're a community, and people can organize, and hang
out, and activate, um, anytime they want, and we'll support it when we can.
Yo, GM, GM guys, you guys mind if I cut in for just a little bit?
Yeah, what's up, Peter?
Um, how's everybody doing today?
Um, just wanted to say something really quickly, um, I don't get out much, but, like, the last time
I did get to go out, got to spend some time in Austin, and hear, you know, Daniel speak, and hear,
uh, Spencer speak about the gaming portions of things, and I, and I know I'm kind of rewinding
a little bit, but I didn't get a chance to, um, brag about my mech a little bit, but I got one of those
knights with those golden crowns and stuff like that.
Um, I'm not exactly sure what's cooking right now, but, um, I'm gonna just put it out there, Josh.
If you got a reaver, I'm down to, like, swap with you, man.
I think reaver's, like, my favorite one right now.
Oh, shoot, we doing trades up here?
Yo, you know what?
We're gonna make some new rules.
I don't know, man.
Council is, like, anything goes right now.
Peter, I was like, hmm, I wonder where this is going, and you know what?
It's trading time.
Yo, I mean, like, I saw, I posted my, I mean, I posted my,
uh, my mech on, on the, uh, on one of the comments and stuff like that.
Go check it out, Josh.
I'll, I'll take a look.
We can do, like, a, um, a board ape flea market where, where we'll do a little,
everyone come up, we can do a swap and, and just see, you know, make sure everyone has
the, uh, the mech that they need for their ape, so.
Look, I'm, I'm always open to trades, but we might have to take that, take that to the DMs.
No, I'm, I'm, yeah, I might have to take it to the DM, but I also want to bring up,
I don't know how many apes or how many people were actually in Austin and, you know, got
a chance to hear, um, you know, the speakers like, like Daniel speak as well as Spencer
But, you know, a lot of what they're saying, it's, it's leaving me really, really excited
because, you know, the sentiment is that regardless of what's going to be happening and stuff like
that is still one of the centerpieces are still going to be like the community.
Um, the board apes obviously should still have some sort of like a huge stake in what's
to come now without knowing any of the details, you know, that's just really, really, you know,
exciting for those who are still around, right.
Um, very much like us, but with all that said, um, I was just kidding about trading my night.
I don't think I'm going to trade you, but you know, we'll see guys.
Just check out your river.
I mean, I've been moving to like bringing some people up.
So apes, if you're around, want to request, we'd love to hear some, some feedback from you
all, as you think about, um, you know, what things that you'd love to see from the club,
any feedback you have that you'd love for us to share with you again, obviously, you
know, the, um, accounts here, listen in so that you will be heard.
Um, uh, you know, if people have any thoughts on a best that they want to, that they want
to share as far as like what they want to see there.
Um, yeah, this is, it's part, part sharing, which I think we did with the newsletter and
then part, um, part listening.
So if you're, um, if you're down there and you want to come up, hit the request button.
Let's do this.
And also if you're part of, of, of particular, um, sub community that you want to speak about,
we'd love that too, in case someone's listening and perhaps they don't, they don't know yet
about, about the community that they could potentially be part of as well.
So that would be really cool.
And I'm referring to maybe like more local leads that gather together.
All right.
Snowflake, I'm going to bring you up, but also, um, probably, probably want to be clear.
We're not, um, this isn't an eight point dial space, so we're not, we're not going to talk
too much about the nominations there.
That's a, that's a very separate process.
So, well, Josh, actually before, before we, we started calling up,
people, maybe it would be good to once again, like separate the two, the board of YACO council
and the, cause I think that causes a lot of confusion for everyone.
And sometimes we get, um, you know, now there's like those elections coming and whatnot.
So it's like, how do we differentiate the two?
Yeah, I know there is some confusion.
So we're here just hanging out for the community council, which is different from the ApeCoin
And so we're really just about how do we serve the, the YACO club and members and that's
Apes and Mutants and, uh, and, uh, the community there.
So I know that, um, lots of folks who are active in the DAO are hosting a lot of other
spaces to, to talk about some of the nominations and the process there.
So, um, I'm sure there's plenty of, uh, plenty of platforms for that as well, but snowflake,
welcome up.
Thank you so much.
Uh, sorry about the noise.
If you're here and you have some teamwork and other side, um, oh, thank you guys.
Um, so I think we lost her.
No, I'm here.
So, um, I was thinking about the ApeFest.
Um, so the ApeFest, like when we had this big event, that was the biggest one.
Um, my thinking was about the safety and also like the feedback that I get, uh, from the
women that they were very happy that, you know, they can like chill in a separate space
or something that was created for them.
Um, so, um, I kind of was thinking about that.
Can we do like separately women, maybe, you know, little space if they want to be just
women there, maybe more security as well, because not all the women like feel comfortable
be around, you know, a big crowd sometimes.
And sorry about the noise.
Um, there's like guys working on the sides.
Thank you, Snowflake.
And I, and I think that, um, I don't know, me personally, I wouldn't want to be like separated
because I would feel almost like segregation of like, you guys go here, you, you know,
and the ladies go here.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
I'm not telling you about separation of genders.
I'm just telling like having a little space.
But it's a valid, but it's a valid opinion.
I was like, and that's the point, right?
Like we're not necessarily have to agree personally.
Um, but I think it's a collective to, to listen to one another, to brainstorm and to
maybe think, okay, perfect.
Maybe it's not just like separating you into like this tiny corner and have access to this,
but perhaps it's like, Hey, let's make sure that around A-Fest, we have one of the
ladies at BAYC meetups, right?
And maybe we could, um, start thinking about that and maybe, I don't know, support via a
grant to make sure that before the event, at least we're familiarized with one of another,
like with each other.
And then the day that we gather at this larger get together is not as intimidating because
I get it, how it could be intimidating, especially if you're not, um, familiar with a lot of the
people in the club.
So, um, I, I, you know, I appreciate you coming up and sharing that.
And for sure it could be something that we could discuss and brainstorm, how could that
look like if that's even a possibility.
I'm not knowing people like it's more like sometimes, you know, certain individuals get
to some point and like some girls, they want to feel safe and they might not feel safe.
So they want to be there, but they want to be sometimes like stepping away from the crowds.
If you know what I mean.
And I think that's also, you know, there were, we're also speculating that it would be like
a large crowd.
Like we have, we haven't gotten any details yet.
So that's also like a good point, right?
Like, is it going to be large crowds?
Is it going to be just like the last time?
Or is it going to be more like the first time?
So I think there's a lot of like unanswered questions and depending on where they end up
taking ApeFest and how is that going to look like, then we could build on that as well.
But definitely, you know, keep that in mind.
And with that, I'm like, welcome, Fiona.
Thank you for coming out.
How are you doing?
I'm great.
I'm doing great.
It's just so great that you guys are having this space and I love that you guys are giving
out grants for community events.
And yeah, whenever ApeFest happens, it would be really a cool opportunity.
I finished the project I've been working on.
I photographed 99 people from the community and combined people with their apes.
And I'm sure you've all heard me say this, but the project is supporting Impact Market,
which is supporting poverty alleviation in areas of the world that people are making under
$2 a day and they're sending money using crypto.
They're on the Celo blockchain.
Um, but, um, I haven't released it yet, mostly because of the bear market and I'm trying to
figure out right now, maybe you guys have some suggestions.
I just had a meeting yesterday with, um, the, some, like an ordinal, an ordinal team.
And I don't know the idea of releasing the apes on the ordinals.
I know they're like popular now and everyone's running to them, but part of me would love to,
to mint with, uh, using ApeCoin or something more ape related.
And if anyone, maybe I could have a separate offline meeting with someone just to kind of
get their advice or opinion.
And that would be really great.
I just kind of want to amplify what Impact Market is doing and amplify this wonderful
community where everyone is building and doing positive things, as opposed to
many people in this community that are not doing positive things.
So, I, I love being a part of this and I just kind of want to, you know, spread this
crypto love around the world.
So, anyway.
Yeah, thanks, Fiona.
It was great meeting you in, uh, in Miami.
It was fun, uh, you know, having a picture together.
So, love what you're doing with your project and, and, and really love the focus on impacts.
I think that's so important.
So, um, yeah, you know, I, I think the fun thing is, uh,
um, we got 12 fold on, on, um, on Ordinal.
So, you know, the UGA ecosystem is not just limited to, uh, to ETH mainnet, but I also
understand, you know, it, it does feel kind of like, man, something for apes feels like
it should kind of go on, um, you know, our, our, our native, native land.
But, uh, yeah, I mean, I've seen, I've really been enjoying like manifold drops.
And so maybe that's a, that's a really great option is, is just seeing kind of how artists
have really taken to, to that platform.
It's a lot to consider.
I want to give people the opportunity to get their own, um, combination, but, um, I also
want to do what's best for the project and would do what's best to support impact markets.
So a lot to consider.
And, and one last question is, are the grants, um, are they only for events or are they for
like people that are building, uh, projects?
Like I have another project I'm working on.
It's like a company idea to help, um, scale this kind of donations to, um, uh, poverty alleviation
using crypto, um, are the grants sort of far and wide or are they just for events?
So the, the grant should be as of right now.
And we wanted to at least to get started for the first few months, um, because we have like
a limited amount of budget and maybe that's something that I think we have covered before.
Um, this is not like unlimited, right?
So we, we have to like work and play into like, how can we get this small budget to go,
um, as far as possible and how could it impact as much as the community?
So even though initiatives that might be great and that we would love to support, the reality
is that it should always be focusing on how could we impact a larger amount of apes.
And, and that's why community gatherings have been our main focus in different areas that
perhaps don't have all these activities.
And, and with that being said, even though, you know, our focus is to, to sort of give
these grants and encourage these meetups in communities that usually don't have a lot
of events and usually don't have a lot of things, it takes the initiative from people
in those communities in order for us to make it happen.
So if there is a community that you know of that never, you know, they could never really
do meetups and maybe they were really active or maybe they do a lot of meetups, but they
haven't really gotten support or an official event, um, from the club, encourage them to
apply because this is how, you know, we're, we're going to get this, this grants to the
right hands and it's really going to continue to encourage this instead of people having
to figure it out, like how to pay for this event or maybe coming out of pocket or trying
to find different sponsors.
And it could be, um, something that, that we could amplify as well.
So, um, another thing that I wanted to say, if you have done, you know, specific event
that you, that you want to share with us and sort of the experience and why was that important
Like, please go ahead.
And also if you're working on something with your IP, um, I think I'm going to do a different,
a whole different space about this, but if you're here and you want to come and like
share a little bit about that, I think that, that always, um, guests are like, I don't
know, working, just as going, and it's exciting to, to see how people continue to build and
continue to, you know, to rep the community.
So with that being said, um, I, I see Sander here too, and he had an event too.
Hi, Sander.
Connecting.
Thank you so much, Laura.
I really appreciate that.
Oh, and I hope that I answered your question.
Yeah, absolutely.
Sorry for being so like far wide and talking.
No, that's good.
You know what?
Many times it's like, I wonder how many people have questions and then they don't ask the
questions and it becomes like, well, I assumed A, B, and C, right.
Or I assume that.
So I try to give as much information and I think everyone in the console tries, but there
is always like this accountability of like, if you have a question, you need to reach out.
And, and this is going to be the only way that we don't make assumptions and that goes for
So many times I'll ask people for things or I'll, I'm like, can you clarify this?
I'm like, Oh no, that's not what it is.
I'm like, perfect.
That's it.
Like, that's all I needed to know.
Um, but Sander, welcome.
I don't know if you could hear me now.
Now I can hear you.
I had like a 10 second rug exactly when you accepted me, but I didn't hear anything past
No, I was just saying welcome Sander.
And that I know that you had a very great event recently and attended by a lot of us
in the community.
So, um, I don't know if you had a questions or anything that you wanted to comment on.
Um, yeah, uh, thank you, Laura.
And, uh, also thank you for joining us in Estonia for those that don't know that I'm
based in Estonia and, uh, we are currently working with the whole Nordics and Baltics
region, uh, and organizing web free events in general here, mostly on the like utility
And we also try to get as many, uh, apes together for, uh, this year's events and, uh, had
it, uh, kind of like, uh, apes and the whole Yuga ecosystem, uh, around the whole place
in different ways.
And also, uh, got a grant from, uh, the council.
So thank you.
And so I just wanted to come up and say, uh, only that, uh, thank you council that for,
uh, enabling this type of, uh, events happen, because I do believe that it is important
for us to do things outside of the obvious hops, because obviously whenever someone is doing
a huge multi-thousand people event in New York, Miami, Paris, Lisbon, Hong Kong, uh, Singapore,
et cetera, it, uh, they automatically also start doing side events for the community and
for different communities, not only apes.
So it's, uh, only that, uh, all those regions, which aren't yet that big or developed, uh, like
Nordic Baltics, like Balkans, uh, like Africa, uh, South America, et cetera, they are still
lacking this type of opportunities.
And, uh, that's actually something that we are now looking to start pushing to, uh, uh,
kind of find and support different, uh, local community builders, uh, that may want to do
bigger events.
And then within those big events, hopefully also get the apes together.
So, uh, if anyone just wants to help out and, uh, thinks that they want to, to organize,
uh, smaller events, meetups, dinners, big events, uh, around the world, and they just need
support, uh, I'm always happy to help and discuss, uh, how can we, uh, pull it together
and kind of have a good vibes as well.
Yeah, thanks for organizing that.
I'm so pumped I missed it, but, um, Laura, thanks for, for repping.
Um, any, uh, Laura, any thoughts as, uh, at NST Town, how, how was it?
What, what were your, some of your takeaways?
Um, I think one of my main takeaways is the importance of going to IRL experiences, whatever
that might be, and to be able to sit down and listen.
I, I think that many times, especially when you don't, if you're a speaker yourself, if
you're attending these conferences, moderating or doing whatever it might be, sitting down
and actually soaking in the information and finding out that every speaker was like a
thoughtful speaker that added something to the conversation and that truly care about
this space and that is pushing the state, like the space forward, as well as seeing the
government involvement of, you know, how can we get like blocking technology to the next
Why is that important?
I, I think it was one of my favorite things that, you know, you truly got to connect with
almost everyone that went to the conference without having to like miss out on, on that,
on like learning.
So I, I believe it was one of the very few conference where I could sit down, soak it
all in and almost like take notes.
And after like, I got to speak with this, with, you know, the people presenting and I'm
like, wow, I love A, B and C about this.
And, and to me, this is where, you know, we continue to have this like network effect
and also build real relationships from that admiration or that like learning point.
So it, it was pretty cool to me and, and, and yeah, and realizing that we could learn
from other countries that whatever they're doing right and whatever we could bring to
the table, then we could do so as well.
But the only way forward is always like with that mentality with like, Hey, I could be as
much of a teacher than a learner.
So I, I had a wonderful time.
My hope to go back next year and, and encourage more people to, to really look out of whatever
area they live in to, to seek opportunities and, and to share with others, right?
Maybe, um, some opportunities weren't for me, but now I have this like sea of knowledge
to, to communicate to, to other founders and people that want to start either businesses
or whatnot.
But, uh, I'm happy to, to share more if anyone has any questions of that.
And, and I wanted to, well, Sander, you wanted to add something and then we're going to go
to Vicky really quick.
I just wanted to add one quick thing that maybe, uh, could be also a suggestion for the,
uh, council.
Uh, what we did for, uh, this year, uh, with NFT talent was that we, uh, made it, uh, I think
like gave a hundred free tickets, uh, which weren't all clean, but, uh, at least we're willing
to do a hundred free tickets for a Yugaverse, uh, NFT owners.
And we, we are going to do this again this year, maybe even more.
So, uh, so that the, uh, apes that are coming, especially from further off, wouldn't have
a limitation on, uh, on the money side to come to those events, uh, at least from the
ticket side.
And that's something that I think that council can maybe try to work out with, uh, some of
the other bigger conferences as well, uh, is to get either like in the worst case, uh,
I don't know, 50% discount, uh, codes from, uh, events and, uh, share them within the
ecosystem or in the best case, uh, get a free tickets for a limited or unlimited amount
of, uh, apes and other, uh, Yugaverse, uh, uh, owners.
So that's just something that's, uh, uh, I'm also, again, happy to help you do because
I'm, uh, in constantly conversations with other organizers as well.
So just so that we would have more opportunities to meet IRL.
I love that initiative.
And I think that's really, that's, um, this is the way as we say, and, and it's very much,
um, kind of a puppy nape.
I love that.
And, and also for the community and kind of global citizenship.
So we'll look forward to, um, getting the word out about that for, for the next round.
Vicky, welcome up.
How are you doing?
Hello everyone.
Um, I was added here by myself.
Any views that are purely my own and have not been coerced by anybody else.
Um, just a couple of points.
I would like to add, um, eight fest.
I know you guys, I'm not expecting anyone to tell me anything, but what I would like
to say is regarding eight fest is it's such a phenomenal event.
Having attended, uh, last year that I feel we are in June already.
And a lot of us have businesses, children, commitments.
Uh, if it's not going to happen this year, then tell us if it is going to happen, but
you haven't got specifics, but you have dates, then tell us so that obviously as a community,
we can make sure everyone has as much opportunity to attend that would like to attend.
Um, I know other people are listening.
So that's just my generic kind of, you know, just tell us, you know, we can get over it.
If it's not this year, then fine.
We'll all deal with it.
But the waiting and the kind of hope, hopium is just not good.
We all need something to look forward to.
Um, personally, I feel a little bit disconnected.
Um, there's been lots of things going on with regards to votes, DAOs, ApeCoin, this, that,
the other.
We're in a kind of quiet time with the market.
So this is the most important time to get together and have fun.
And I think for me personally, that's what I feel is missing, uh, inverted commas, fun.
You know, there's a lot of us that can't get to, uh, IRL events as much as we would like
to, so the FOMO causes kind of all sorts of anxiety and I just see it's, I don't know,
it's just a bit of a disconnect right now.
I just would like to have the fun that we all had.
It doesn't have to be fun making money and everybody like, you know, just kind of craziness.
But yeah, that's just, just my two cents.
Hopefully somebody will have something fun that I can laugh at and, you know, we can all
poke fun at each other like we used to.
Um, Vicky, I was just like going down like my brain.
I'm like, Oh my God.
I was like, okay, something funny.
And I'm like laughing at like all the memories and everything that we have been able to build.
And sometimes I'm like, it's hard, right?
Because most of this like fun times at exciting times came as organically as they come.
Um, so those are definitely things that we can like literally sit down and plan.
Like you don't really plan like, okay, today we're going to have fun guys.
Um, and it's more like up to like each and every one of us to like maybe gather and want
to be part of it.
And because the market is like a little bit like do me and like more quiet, sometimes we
feel like we can't have that fun.
And we forget that even just like looking here within like the speakers and like the
listeners, like how many friends and how many people that we have had all these wonderful
memories and all these great times.
And it's like, well, how do we do this again?
And, and maybe we just need like more places to gather together and not necessarily in person.
So this is where, can we get more creative?
Can we plan?
Like I was thinking right now about like, we had this, this meetup like in, in VR and
that was so cool.
And it was like my first experience with like actually sitting down with a group of people
and, and hanging out somewhere and sharing stories.
And it was stories about A-Fest.
Um, so it's like, can we do that maybe more often?
Like if some of us have that, um, can we do more spaces where it feels more like, Hey,
let's catch up, let's hang out.
And not so much of a pressure of like, you need to make this big announcements in order
for us to have a good time.
Um, and, and little by little, right?
Like, let's just create this like organic places.
And it's just going to take a few of us to, to want to gather and to want to like tune
in into whatever it is that, that we could come up with.
But I, I'm with you into, Hey, we have had some of the best times.
And regardless of the market, we, we can't forget that.
Like we can't disconnect completely into this is, this was never up on numbers.
The numbers came around and it's, and it's great because everyone probably wants to make
But if money wasn't the original motive, then it's like, what really was it and why did
it get to what it got to?
So yeah, a lot of, a lot to think about, but a lot to also, you know, start acting on it
and, and, and thinking of like, Hey, maybe there's a few of us that feel the same way.
How can we push this forward?
I think you actually hit the nail on the head for, for lots of us.
It isn't, it's not about the money.
You know, there are plenty of people in the community that are all about the money and
are all about certain things.
And we all know that we see that every day on the timeline, but certainly for me and many
others that I scroll through, I can see it's never been about the money.
And it's about being an outstanding community that sets itself apart from everybody else because
of how we are, because of what we do, because of what we represent.
And I understand that as we grow, we're going to have different arms of obviously gaming and
DAOs and this, that, and the other, but there also needs to be that element of fucking fun.
And, you know, because we are the apes, because we are fun, because why would you want to join?
Would you want to join because you're a gamer?
Would you want to join because you want to be part of a DAO?
Would you want to join because obviously pink hair's the best?
These are the kind of things that obviously we like to challenge each other with.
And Cheetah.
Yeah, thanks, Vicky.
I 100% agree.
I think we are, one of the points of feedback that we brought to the Yuga team last council
meeting was the disconnectedness.
And I think it's something we see, I know it's going to be hard or almost impossible to
kind of get back to those early vibes.
So that doesn't mean we need to, we let go of the reality that this is a really special
community and we want to continue to hang out and grow in that together and find ways to
do that online and offline.
So we absolutely welcome ideas, thoughts and feedback from the rest of the community on
how we can address some of that feeling of disconnectedness.
And I know that there is some hope being around like maybe, you know, like excitement for ApeFest
if and when it comes, when and when not if, I guess.
But like there's, and then yeah, hopefully the council grants can help a little bit with
like little moments around the world and online.
But yeah, that's, I think we need to keep the vibe, which is like, I agree, it's the fun
and it's like why we got in the space first and all that.
Um, and on the ApeFest side, on the scheduling, um, you guys aware, we have shared that feedback
quite a bit as far as like travel schedules and planning and, um, and, and I, and I know
that they're, they're working to announce as soon as they possibly can.
So, um, it's, it's not like, you know, they, they have something locked in and they're like
keeping it a secret just to mess with us.
Um, I think they're aware, uh, something this big is going to require planning and they're,
they're working on it.
So, so just really, really quickly, I just do want to confirm, um, ApeFest is happening
this year.
Like, so, so that's confirmed.
I mean, so start hydrating now.
I know Gargit confirmed it, uh, earlier in May.
I think it was like mid May or something like that, but it's still happening this year,
So, I mean, something to look forward to.
The date's not locked in yet, but you know, prepare yourselves.
Peter coming in with the alpha.
And the reassurance that we all need, um, I was going to do like a guessing game.
Like, Hey, do you guys, are you guys betting on having an ApeFest this year or not?
Uh, I'm excited to see like what it looks like.
Because with, with all the feedback from the community that, that we received from last
time, like good, bad, or things that could be, you know, better tailored to, to what
the community wants.
Um, and of course, obviously not everyone is going to be happy.
And I think if the goal would be to make everyone happy, then we'll all be doomed in life, um,
about anything that we do or imagine like as a company, like trying to please, I don't
know, hundreds of thousands of people.
But for the most part is like, what is realistic and what can, you know, can we do better at
and continue to, to deliver.
So I'm excited to see that.
So Peter, thank you for confirming that it will happen this year.
And, and hopefully also that, that we're going to have a little bit of time to plan.
Because I know there was a lot of, um, questioning, especially around the summertime that people
were like, how the heck am I going to plan, you know, my life without knowing this and
we want to make it a priority to attend.
Um, so, so we are also being very vocal that, that people want time to plan this and not something
like overnight.
That it just has to, like, I don't know, I don't, I highly doubt it's going to be like,
oh, the next two weeks we're going to have a fist here.
Um, so hopefully everyone will be able to attend and to plan ahead.
And I see, um, I'm like, so hopefully I see your hand up and we have a lot of requests.
So if you want to add anything, please go ahead.
And then I'm going to be rotating the space a little bit so I could bring other people.
I want to actually touch on the point of the Josh about, um, you know, the ideas, how can
we help the community and the great idea that works a lot and many, many, you know, platforms,
different platforms related to web free, uh, combined with web free is basically having,
uh, something on the page with, um, section where you can ask questions or suggest things.
So you have like suggestion part, you have questions part, and there will be always some
console to actually answer them.
Not the mod, not the technical personnel, you know, actual console communicating with the
community, uh, dedicating several hours a day, at least, uh, doing that.
Um, so that's very important because you need to think about people in different time zones,
people actually at work, people busy, people doing something, they can't like shuttle their
life on space and adjust it.
You know, they might have work and health.
So they just maybe have like a five minutes a day to drop some question, uh, that came
up on their mind or some suggestion.
So building that platform is so important.
Um, and also for gathering the data.
So you should do it definitely.
And you should definitely respond there and have active listening, um, you know, and actually
take in the suggestion, create like, um, you know, interactive spreadsheets, um, interactive
And this way also, you know, people will see that you actually actively participating, uh,
versus, you know, just talking, for example, about feelings or remembering something, you know,
it's good on spaces, but when person doesn't have too much time at some point, it's not
feeling like they're getting their responses.
So, and that suggestion happens everywhere all the time and works very well.
Thank you, Snowflake.
And, and, and with that being said, I was like, I think also it's good to like set expectations,
um, perhaps like somewhere where this feedback could live on is something that we have spoken
about and seeing how realistic it is to have it maybe on a website or maybe in, you know,
maybe something more like centralized where people could find it.
However, it's also good to remember that this is not a full-time position for anyone, right?
That we're part of the console and we're happy to, to be part of it and be very hands-on
and we're involved every single day, but it would never be realistic as of today to have
someone working, you know, I don't know, five hours a day responding to feedback.
I don't even think we will have that much inbound, but in the case where B, um, I think it's
important to set expectations.
And there's a lot of confusion when it comes to the numbers of people getting paid for Ape
Coin once again, and our role, right?
Like as community, as this is two completely different ballgames.
And therefore we also have full-time jobs, full-time opportunities, full-time responsibilities.
And yet we make day-to-day time to be part of this because we want to, and we're choosing
to like volunteer our time.
And there is a very, very small, you know, like token of appreciation, if you want to
call it that, um, for our efforts.
So I think sometimes because of the confusions with the names, people feel, I know what it's
Like, absolutely not, but, but, well, I'm not saying you are confused.
I'm saying people in general and with the, with sometimes the expectations.
And I think at the end of the day, as humans, we always have to like level expectations.
And I want to bring back the conversation a little bit about Ape's because we actually
brought someone up that apparently has a little bit more alpha.
And I really want to like hear from him.
So Ian, welcome.
Welcome to this.
Before you go to Ian, I'm going to drop off.
I'm going to listen.
I just want to ask like, if we can do some smaller Ape Fest in smaller cities, maybe like
intersection of the roads, because big cities sometimes are very costly for some people.
And another suggestion to Pat, please don't send DMs with thumbs downs.
He's just garbage in DMs.
Thank you so much, Laura and Josh.
Think about the suggestion.
Thanks for those suggestions.
All right, Ian, you got any, you got anything juicy for us?
Hey, everyone.
Thanks for hosting BAYC Council.
As always, you know, we, we, we like listening in and hearing everyone's thoughts into the
community.
Always great to hear everyone's ideas.
And we, we appreciate all the feedback and all this sort of stuff.
Know that we're always listening and we are planning some stuff.
And, you know, we take everyone's feedback and like the passion behind the community and
the desire for OG vibes very high.
Um, that being said on, uh, Ape Fest, we were trying to, uh, you know, we've been hearing
obviously comments about that.
So we also just want to confirm with folks that this is not, uh, it's not going to be
It will be in this year.
It will not be in July.
So people will have time.
Um, uh, people will have time to plan for things.
So again, we're gonna, you know, we're gonna update folks as soon as we can.
Um, but that, that's, we just wanted to calm that nerve around folks so that you're not
trying to plan things, uh, you know, in like a month ish and stress out about that.
So there will be time.
So we just wanted to let the folks know that, uh, I'm going to hand it back off to you all
because this is your space and this is your all time to chat.
So thanks everyone.
Thanks for that info.
That's, that's super helpful.
We'll look forward to it when, when you're all ready to, to announce.
We got, um, hopefully soon.
Just kidding.
Before, before you go, um, I would love if maybe some community members are here listening
in and they're not familiar with you.
So like, do you mind like telling us a little bit about you just throwing a curveball, but
Oh, you left us.
Oh, shoot.
He ran away.
Oh no, he can't.
Oh, he's coming back.
No, definitely follow Ian though.
Um, he's, he's great.
You might get some spicy basketball takes on his timeline too.
So that's going to come with all the, you know, man, don't get me started.
Don't get me started.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
I actually didn't leave that time, but I think, uh, Peter might've booted me cause I'm a Warriors
That, that is correct.
Yeah, man.
Like I was like, Ian, you gotta get off the stage now, man.
Like we're done.
We're done with the, no bad.
Targeted attack.
But, uh, yeah, yeah.
For those who don't know me, uh, Ian or, or IDB, um, I, I joined Yuga back in November.
I'm the director of digital and social media here.
So I work really closely with, you know, a lot of folks you can see in the space, um,
with those lovely, uh, Yuga badges and get to hang out with the BYC council a bit.
Um, so yeah, you know, all, all things that are going out on social, um, you know, we,
we had heard feedback that, you know, Yuga as a whole is maybe a bit too quiet, uh, over
last summer.
And so we wanted to really make sure that we were more communicative and, and open with
folks with, uh, whether it's things on obviously BYC or other side, I think Dookie Dash was
a really good example of the way we were trying to like move our comms forward with folks.
Um, and you're going to be seeing some, you know, more exciting stuff along the way, not
just for BYC, um, but, but Yuga as a whole as well.
Um, yeah, feel free to, you know, at me if you have any questions or all that sort of stuff.
I'm happy to chat.
Um, Ian probably went quiet earlier because the Warriors exit sooner than, you know, sooner
than expected, but anyway.
It's okay.
We didn't get swept, so it's fine.
Oh, hell no.
This is turning into something different.
Get off the stage, man.
Oh, shoot.
Get off the stage, man.
Thanks, everyone.
That was fun.
Thank you, Ian.
I didn't feel as rejected, but I, now, now I feel a little better.
Um, uh, you know, I, I want to call on Tsingri.
Welcome to the stage.
Look at him go right there.
Yo, what's going on, everybody?
Shout out to my motherfucking apes, man.
The Board 8 Yacht Club.
Josh, Laura.
Thank you guys for hosting the space.
I want to agree with Peter.
I mean, we might know things that you guys don't know.
We might have the alpha.
We might have it all.
We don't know.
Ape Fest could be at any moment, but guess what?
It's definitely happened, and I don't give a fuck where it's happening.
I just got, I just got out the dentist, so don't mind my, you know, my speech, but
guess what?
Um, yeah, I don't care if Ape Fest is in fucking Paris.
I don't care if it's in fucking Chi-Town.
I don't care if it's around the block in New York.
Y'all want to talk about having fun?
Ape Fest is straight up fun.
Last year was a fucking festival.
The first year, if you wasn't there, I was there.
You know, thank God I was there.
It was crazy.
We was on a little boat.
You know, it was something cool, a little yacht.
Last year was a motherfucking concert.
It was a fucking Coachella on steroids.
It was ridiculous.
That was just all fun.
Everybody just bugging out.
You know what I'm saying?
So this year is, I wouldn't think that they don't have anything crazy planned.
They definitely got something crazy planned, and I'm excited for it.
I'm here for all the fun.
Yeah, we want to make money.
We want to do this.
We want to do that.
But listen, it all comes with fun.
And if we ain't having fun, what's the whole point?
You feel me?
And I think the Board 8 Yacht Club, I don't think I know, is literally an example of that.
From their clothes, from the games they put out, from the beginning, and everything like that.
Like, we have a great community, a great gang.
We have a great company that's really doing their thing and really putting in work, man.
Like, really think about all the people that know of the Board 8 Yacht Club.
I have, you know, the actor Michael B. Jordan freaking texting me saying,
Yo, man, what's good with these apes?
Like, how the hell does he know about this?
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, these are the things that make the Board 8 Yacht Club great.
You know what I'm saying?
You see future.
You see post-modern, all these people.
But besides the celebrities, we have fucking great people, man.
We have teachers.
We have dentists.
We have athletes.
We have all type of people that are into this.
And to walk down the street in Manhattan and to bump into my boy, one of my boys,
I bumped into one of my boys that was wearing a Board 8 Yacht Club sweater the other day
and I was wearing the hat and I bumped into him and he said, Yo, Zach.
I said, Yo, what the fuck?
He's like, what's good, man?
He gave me a quick hug and all that.
And then we just kept on moving through the streets of Times Square.
That's it.
I went my way, my boy Nigel.
Like, that was crazy, man.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
And that's what it's all about, having fun.
But, man, I'm just going to tell you guys I'm excited about A-Fest and shit's about to go crazy.
And I'm just representing for y'all.
You feel me?
That's all, man.
You ain't got to ask me no question.
I'm like, thank you for the vibes.
I was like, this is the fun that you can make up.
And you know what?
I was like, I don't know what dentist you go to, but this person is just, you know, like,
you're having a great time at your dentist.
I'm coming out with the best energy.
So you might be able to, like, chill your dentist or something, like, get a coat for him.
But absolutely.
I think, like, running into people IRL unexpectedly and then feeling that, like, sense of, like,
we know each other and we got each other.
It's always, like, a lot of fun.
So thank you for coming up and sharing.
And I'm definitely excited for A-Fest.
And we're definitely going.
I can't wait to know where it is.
I'm like, I keep trying to, like, push people to, like, tell me.
But, like, no one really says anything.
But, yeah.
So if it works out, guys, then hopefully we'll find out soon.
And I think Dean.
Laura knows.
She's just, you know, trying to.
You know what I'm saying?
She's just keeping it all to herself.
A-Fest might be in Puerto Rico, everybody.
You feel me?
So, hey, I'm out of here.
Oh, my God.
I would die of happiness.
I don't think I heard that conspiracy theory.
But, damn.
I would say it here.
I was like, I would be so happy if that was remotely true.
Haven't even suggested.
I'm just going to call all my friends that I don't have in high places and be like,
can we make it happen in Puerto Rico?
But, okay.
So, Dean, how are you doing?
Hi, everyone.
Thank you for having me.
I'm here today on behalf of the French apes just to share what happened in our community
a few months back in March, thanks to the BAYC Council.
So, in March was the annual Paris Blockchain Week.
And we were invited to actually have a booth here as part of their Web3 Day and a special
night the day before.
We were generously supported by the council.
It was a great experience.
We were able to gather a lot of apes.
It was a special.
It was a special.
Also, shout out to Tina and Figer from Yuga who were there and came to the party.
As you saw maybe on the newsletter, the council posted, there was a picture of the booth.
I'm actually doing a small thread with visuals of it because not a lot of people know that,
but the idea was to recreate the dive bar in the French way.
But we were rugged by the printer and there is a big part of it that was cropped.
And on that part, there was the anus of Jimmy the monkey framed.
So, I guess the printer rubbed Jimmy.
So, I'm going to post a picture in a few minutes.
A thread is a lot of stuff.
So, it was very funny.
There were tons of apes and also outside members of other community, NFT communities that came.
It was a great day.
And on the day before, a great party organized in a famous French place with an amazing DJ,
DJ Dynastie, who is like at the origin of the pop in France.
He actually brought the scratch, I don't know how you say that, the venial scratching to friends from the US.
He's an absolute legend.
He's part of a Netflix TV show too.
So, thank you for the council for that.
It was just great.
And yeah, we are eager to do more.
We are 148 members in the community, including Mutants and Apes.
But we have monthly physical meetups, weekly calls, where we actually have different task force working on different things.
So, for example, for the event of the Paris Blockchain Week, there was a special task force working on the evening and the other one working on the booth.
But we also have a part dedicated to the ApeCoin DAO, to everything.
We have different channels, such as Other Side and also Heavy Metal, where we share all our thoughts.
So, it's a very busy Discord.
A lot of people, a lot of good vibes.
And if any of you is around Paris or anywhere in France, just hit us up, send us a DM, contact one of us, and we will gladly welcome you here.
A big thank you.
Thank you, David.
That's hilarious.
I was like, I need to see this picture with the rugged ads.
I'm actually posting it right now.
So, it's actually loading.
I tagged the BAYC council on it.
So, I'm not sure.
For people that are not part of the space, there's going to be a lot of questions, I'm sure.
But I think, you know what, I love that you mentioned, you know, how involved you guys are with, you know, the club and how you do this weekly calls and the meetups that you do.
Because maybe it will inspire others to either do the same and kind of, you know, continue to treasure those relationships and not sort of like wait until there is like a big gathering to continue to hang out and to have a great time.
So, thank you for that.
And now, maybe someone is traveling there.
They know who to contact to in order to do like a small meetup or, you know, just to meet some local apes.
And this is why I love like the sub-communities and getting to know them in each area.
The times that I've been able to travel and connect in person is just game-changing.
Having someone local already that feels like you know them forever.
So, thank you, Dim.
Thank you for joining.
And I can't wait to see what you guys do next.
And welcome, Double Ape.
How are you doing today?
I'm doing well, Laura.
How are you?
Thanks for having me.
Doing great.
I'm like this.
This is like kicking off my month in a beautiful way.
So, excited to be here.
I was excited to see all of you here as a council and having a space.
I haven't seen many of these and hopefully we see more of them in the future.
So, I just wanted to ask or just pose a question.
Something that I've been hearing in the space lately.
And like this narrative that board apes are not cool anymore.
I want to see how we can come together as a community and change that.
Like how can we be cool again?
Like maybe we're not the cool kids anymore.
Or maybe people feel that we're just boomers and we're out of touch.
Maybe in our own worlds.
Like how can we kind of turn that around maybe in a creative way as a community to kind of change that narrative?
I mean, I think that's like something that we could like ponder upon.
And also like a very existential question.
Like what is cool?
Like are we nerds?
Are we cool?
Like are, you know, who defines these things?
And also to think of how much a floor price define, you know, who was cool and who wasn't.
Or how much a community rallying around all NFTs and being in the hype of the market.
And then being seen as, okay, you guys are the apes and therefore you have this, you know, perk because you're an OG or whatnot.
Like a lot of connotations that were given to apes.
And many times assumptions around that, that sometimes we're good, sometimes we're bad.
Like, I don't know.
Everyone thought I was a guy.
And I was like, my name is Laura.
It's there.
Like, and I, and I post my face and I'm not a guy.
So maybe some of the assumptions are, that were great from the beginning.
Some of them maybe were bad.
And I think, like, how do we keep that up?
I think that that comes as a community and as individuals.
And also, are we going to let, like, numbers define what this is?
And I always go back into, like, when this all started, like, no one could have guessed, right, that it would turn into what it did.
But the community did that.
And, yes, the delivering from the team and the accountability and the continuation of everything being built backs it up.
But it's also up to each and every one of us.
So, yeah, I mean, I'm ready to be the cool girl.
I'm ready to be the nerd girl.
And everything in between.
I was like, I definitely don't fall for those games.
And it's always like, don't assume, yes, we are all part of different communities.
We're all part of this community.
And yet there are things that are going to represent me from other members of the communities.
And there are things that I'm going to be like, hey, you know what?
We're part of this amazing community.
And yet I don't relate to this area of you.
And this is where we almost need to find, like, our thrive and continue to expand our network to see who can we genuinely connect with, like, moving forward.
And I don't know if that answered your question.
But I'm just, like, speaking from the heart.
And hopefully that makes sense.
No, that was a great answer.
I appreciate it.
I was going to add that one thing I'm excited about and that I recently saw was the news that, I forget which game it is, but the, where, I think it's the Legend of Barra game or the other one, where more you'll be allowed to get into the game with other, like, projects, like PFPs will be included in the game.
I think part of the disconnect for me is, like, the early days of, like, the BoardEat.Club and what it was all about to this transition into, like, people see it more as a gaming company.
And then I think who's defining cool and what's not cool is, like, how the early days were compared to kind of what we're leaning into now.
So I think if, like, if we're getting what I like, what I, hold on a second.
Like, I like what I'm seeing in terms of incorporating other projects into the game to bring them into this new kind of community that we're building.
And hopefully that kind of, you know, kind of shed some light on, like, where we're moving in the future.
So I hope that made sense, but, yeah.
Yeah, no, and I think that's fair.
And you know what?
I was, like, I like having, like, more transparent conversations and also, you know, things that challenge us a little bit.
And maybe not us particularly as just a console, but maybe Yuga in general.
And for me, how I think about it, and this is, like, a very, I don't know, mean perspective, just, like, brainstorming on things is, well, there has to be a business and there has to be a business that is sustainable and that is long-lasting.
And if that looks like gaming, then, yeah, some community members that are not gamers themselves, including myself, that we could still have fun, that we could still enjoy this journey, even though we might not be, like, the prime target or the prime user.
And it's, like, how do we continue to create value for maybe a lot of us that don't want to spend hours and hours gaming, right?
Because that's not our focus.
So, to me, I always think it's, like, as long as they're building something that we're not going to depend on secondary sales, we're not going to depend on this volume in order to thrive, and we're not putting almost, like, all the eggs into, like, well, the community has to bring this up.
Then, to me, it's hopeful as, like, a business perspective, as, like, retaining value, retaining, you know, what they're adding to the table.
And then for the fun part, for the things that have made this community what it is, is it's us.
It's us gathering.
It's us, like, having initiatives.
And it's really creating the space for that, because if we don't have anywhere to do those things, then it could just become, like, okay, well, I never see anyone anymore.
And to me, like, there's a lot of PFPs that I'm seeing here today that I haven't seen in a while, and I'm, like, checking again on their profiles, like, almost selling the algorithm.
And, like, love you guys, like, show me these people again.
And for us not to be scared of, like, hearing no's from one another, but to say, hey, we're here, ready to do cool things, and hopefully we have each other's back, and whatever that looks like.
So, yeah, I mean, clearly I don't have the best answer, but hopefully, you know, we get somewhere by, like, speaking about this and hopefully continue to provide real feedback and not just, you know, things that I guess, like, people want to hear.
Yeah, I wouldn't expect you to just answer that type of question, but I think you addressed it very well.
I think it's a community-wide thing.
So, yeah, so I appreciate it.
Yeah, just wanted to kind of put that out there.
For sure, and thank you.
Thank you for coming up.
And Peter, I don't know if you want to add anything else.
I see that, I was like, we don't have a lot more requests.
We have gone a little bit over, like, a little bit past the hour, which is great, because we had a great conversation and engagement.
But I want to make sure that if there's something that I'm missing, that, you know, I give you the mic.
Yeah, no, I mean, so, guys, I'm not exactly sure if there's actually one answer, right?
I know that the other side has been a huge part of some of you guys' efforts as of late, and rightfully so.
You know, there's a lot to build out and a lot to do there.
But I think if we take it all the way back to even the beginning, right, like, it wasn't, like, none of the apes or none of the people from the communities back then depended on necessarily announcements or anything like that from Yuga or Bored Apes.
You know, the community just kind of rallied and just started being creative and doing things, you know, going all the way back to, you know, Josh just being willing to be like, hey, back in Venice in 2021, let's just meet up and let's just kind of, like, do a world tour.
And then, you know, going all the way back to even remembering when everybody was doing the, you know, spicy nut contest, it's just about being together and just, like, sharing everything beyond, like, being DJs and all that stuff.
And it's not done, but, like, I do feel like, you know, these feedbacks that we're getting, we are feeding back.
Like, but we have to understand that, like, you know, it started with us and we can, and like Laura said, like, the community is the answer and it is the response to, like, how can we change things?
And, you know, we got to be innovative about stuff like that.
I mean, speaking of which, like, I'm looking at Ian right now after he talked all that smack and I kind of want to, like, challenge him to, like, a spice nut contest, just kind of, like, settle it too, right?
But it's things like that and, you know, supporting each other in their own endeavors, like, creative ways to, like, do IP things and so on and so forth.
But, you know, there isn't a wrong answer or a right answer, but the general consensus is that whatever we do, we got to do it together.
Love that. Thank you, Peter.
And thank you, everybody, for, like, tuning in.
And I know that, for sure, because of time zones, because of our lives and because of everything, maybe you might not be able to tune in to participate and maybe you're listening to the replay.
And the idea is that, you know, as a good reminder is all of our DMs are open.
The Board of Council is here to, like, hear you out, to help out in whatever we can.
Also, there's going to be, obviously, limitations that we don't, I don't know, we're not making, like, the final calls and the final decisions.
But together, I think that we could have either better ideas, better feedback, and things that are, you know, long-lasting for the community.
That many times, like, that change starts with us individually and whatever we want to do.
That these events that we're speaking about, about the grants, this is not a grand scheme, I don't know, event production that you have to put.
Maybe it has to be something really little.
Maybe it's a gathering at someone's house and we're helping with catering.
Maybe it's, you know, you guys attending something together in order to, you know, network, hang out.
So think about, like, at a smaller scale that we could all do this and that if any one of us in the council could actually help you execute this or, like, brainstorm ideas, that's what we're here for.
And, yeah, I mean, you know, don't, there's no stupid question, right?
And if you are unsure about something, just reach out.
Make sure that if you're applying for the grant, you use our, like, official site with token proofs.
So we make sure that any application that we're receiving is actually from someone in the club.
That's how we're sort of, like, vetting the whole process.
And that once you do these events, there's going to be a lot of accountability into, hey, how many apes are actually attending?
You know, are we keeping track of that?
Are we making sure that we have, like, you know, all the nitty-gritty stuff, not just, like, oh, here's the funding and that's where it ends?
No, there is also, like, a conversation afterwards to make sure that everything is executed to the best of our ability.
And with that being said, I'm like, let's continue to have fun.
Let's continue to, you know, bring up great ideas or better ideas.
I was like, I don't mind if someone has a better idea than me, but it's just more about having that initiative to say, hey, you know, I'm here.
I'm ready to help out or I'm ready to execute this because sometimes, you know, listening goes a longer way and then taking into action is going to, it's really going to make the impact.
So, yeah, a lot goes behind the scenes.
I want to thank each and every one of my fellow council members, how, you know, each of us has, like, their little, you know, help and in our unique ways.
So, shout out to Sarah for making her beautiful art all the time and being on top of Twitter as well as Ethan and my feet are always ready to help and Ethan with the newsletter and Negi and Josh.
So, it's really like, I don't know, a dream team and then all the Yuga team supporting us and really being there to, like, listen to our great or horrible ideas sometimes.
But to really be the voice of the community and not just our personal opinions and that's what this should be like and what we want this to continue to move forward.
But we need your help in order to gather this feedback, right?
So, don't ever think that by you voicing your opinion, it's like, I don't know, it's going to go into deaf ears.
It's more like we're happy to hear that.
So, once again, thank you for joining us.
I can't wait to do this again and hopefully if we find out soon when and where Ape Fest is going to be, then we could come and gather and hang out and book hotels together or whatever it might be and maybe, like, plan some side events around that too.
And in the meantime, we are ready to see all your proposals.
I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of your day and happy starting of the month.
Start with, you know, on the right, no positive vibes and a lot of love for each and every one of you.
Thank you, everybody.
