pretty big day coming up i believe tomorrow oh boy am i yes it is uh going to be a very busy day
ahead of me as we prepare all of the last bits and bobs and tie it all off with a cute little bow. I'm so excited
to get this mint live and start seeing which baritoners you all mint. And maybe the one you
mint, you decide, oh, it's not really for me. I'm going to trade for a better one. So beyond that,
I'm really excited to see which ones people land on as being like their baritoner.
Yeah, I think it's always interesting. Now, I guess, I don't know how much alpha you can share,
because I know it's literally coming up tomorrow. But as far as like reveal, are you allowed to say, is it like instant reveal?
Is there going to be a little wait period before people see what they get?
How is that going to work?
Yeah, we do have a pre-reveal placeholder in store.
And then I don't actually, I need to verify like when exactly the reveal is happening, whether it's immediately after mint or if we're going to make you all sit in anticipation for a little while.
But I think that that's really nice, especially for, you know, like allow everyone the chance to mint first.

to just try to give all of our community that are um minting from whitelist their you know
fair opportunity to get their nft before the trading goes crazy um and by the way, I am a huge proponent of the right-click-save method.
So if you see one that you're like, oh man, I just need that PFP, but I don't really have the funds on me, for instance, live best life.
I mean, obviously holding it is huge utility because that's not going to only give you access to the in-game avatar, but also
we will have something on our website set up for a token-gated access to the VTuber VRM files.
So if you would like to actually stream, take meetings, make content with your Baritone or
VTuber, you will obviously, in that case, need to hold the actual NFT to get access to that file.
I like it. I'm a pretty big proponent of right-click saving.
I think that's the one thing we got really wrong last cycle and what people really made fun of crypto people for was the whole, you can't right-click save an NFT.
And yeah, I like right-click saving nfts i think it's fun and i don't care who knows it uh just try not try not
to take like a prominent one like don't take icy's pfp because people are gonna know and they're like
ah it's icy though you know it's once you've established your brand to a pfp it's really hard
to right click save but like i do think it's really hard to right-click save.
I do think it's kind of funny, for instance, with the Steady Teddy honoraries.
I've seen zeros a bunch, and I understand it because his Teddy honorary goes insanely hard. But yeah, I've seen more than a few people right-click save that one, which always gives me a bit of a chuckle.

honorary and were like okay cool I grabbed this one I was like yeah I mean that's fine but

knows my lore, I started as the Tubby Cats community manager. And I would literally like
get paid from Tubby Cats and then use some of that to sweep more tubbies for no reason other
than I felt a spiritual connection to them. And to this day, I've never sold a tubby. I think I have like 26 or 27. So I already know the same thing is going to
happen with the baritoners collection where, you know, I'm just going to like look at the floor
every now and then and be like, she's mine. And eventually my collection will grow.
You heard it here first. Icy is sweeping. Do not list your baritones. They
are not safe on the floor. Steady lads, deploying more capital. Yeah, actually, that's something I
like to actually ask on these kind of spaces. Because, you know, you like to get to know
people a little bit more. How did you get into crypto? I know you mentioned tubby cats, but like,
if you don't mind sharing, like, how did you
actually like find crypto and like start, you know, being, being icy?
Yeah.
You know, it's actually like, I think just like kind of a funny story how it all started.
A friend of mine basically made an NFT project during NFT summer. And he and his buddies got themselves a quick
like million and a half because they just did really, really well marketed the shit out of it,
minted out instantly. And so I heard from him, he was like, dude, you have to get into crypto,
like you can print. And so for me, it wasn't even an interest or knowledge of actual defi it's that
I've been an artist my whole life and I was like oh my gosh here are artists making life-changing
money because you know historically artists do not do very well for themselves, unfortunately. And so it was really the passion
for the art side of things that got me into it. Hence why I think I kind of naturally found myself
in with the Tubby Cats community because they were a very, very art focused NFT project.
And so I, you know, made up my little crypto twitter profile I started a new account
and when it came time to like choose this uh you know silly pretend name and persona
I asked my friend like well what do I do like because he said you know don't use your real name
everyone's anonymous here and at the time I had my iPhone wallpaper was Ice Bear from
We Bare Bears, which is one of my favorite cartoon characters. And so when I asked him like, well,
what should my name be? He just pointed at my phone and he's like, how about that? And I was
like, oh, okay. So I just changed it to Icy Bear. So the fact that fate brought me to Bear Chain,
that fate brought me to bear chain you know is nothing short of fate i think oh i didn't really
because i i met you on bear chain so i did not realize that you were bear before bear chain oh
yeah i've been since joining which i believe november 2021 was when i made my crypto Twitter account.
Yeah.

The chain with a bear on it was even an idea.
We really are twinning.
That's when I created my account too.

Oh, actually, since you've been around for a while, do you remember back when people would always talk about rebranding their ex?
Well, actually, back then it was Twitter.

It was like a six-month period where everyone was like, we've got to rebrand and we've got to learn how the algorithm works and we've got to do all this.
I do.
I've many a time seen the term rebrand being used for people. Especially like,
I remember there was a period where, you know, if someone like even changed their PFP or display
name, they'd be like, hey, everyone, I'm rebranding. This is so and so. I always thought that was a bit funny. I've never really like thought to change my display name only because I know myself.
And if someone changes that, I'm going to be like, who are you?
So for the sake of continuity, I was like, I'll just sometimes add things onto my display
name, but we got to keep the icy bear in here for the branding, you know?
I'm the same way. I'm,
I'm okay. If you change your PFP, I will recognize you by your name. It'll take me a little bit,
but I'll recognize you by your name or your handle. Just once you change your name or handle,
it's like, ah, man, I got to relearn like who you are. I got to like figure it out. Um,
there's some people that change it a little bit, or like you said, like put something on the end. Okay. That's, you know, I can figure that out. I know what you mean. Like I'm not only
a bearer, but a tubby cat. So the, the odds of me having any more than two brain cells on my best away from me. Very fair.

You know, we chose this path.
And actually,
because we haven't talked too, too much about it,
can you give us, you know,
talk us through what baritone is, the game? Because I know, unfortunately,
and you've told me many times to get
a sailcloth and unfortunately i faded i haven't gotten to play it but i've seen some walkthroughs
i've seen some pictures it's wide bear wednesday like can you tell us a little bit more about
baritone and what we have to look forward to with the actual game absolutely so, Baritone is an upcoming cozy game focused on farming, fishing, crafting,
and adventure, and of course some sailing in there as well. It's very similar to games like
Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley, kind of taking a lot of elements from these different cozy genre
games and mishmashing them together to make
something even greater than we've seen before. So you're going to have your own farmstead that will
be specific to you, like a solo instance, although you can, of course, invite friends to visit your
farmstead. And that's going to be where you can decorate and build however you'd like so
whether you want to put emphasis on the farming element the decoration element the world is your
oyster or maybe your bearer and then beyond that farmstead though it is going to be like an mmo
style game so you're going to be in instances with all of the other players playing at the same time think in
that regard like world of warcraft um it's going to be really really fun lots of quest lines lots
of mini games lots to do including combat because as i've come to find out a lot of bears are just
itching to kill um so if that excites you that is something you can look forward to as well. And so right now, as Kev mentioned about the Sailcloth, we are in our play to earn campaign era.
And what that means is that as we're developing the game, we need our community's help to playtest, find the bugs, give us the feedback.

much anymore but uh if you're on twitter, people will tell you exactly how the price is and exactly how it's going, exactly what the charts look like.
Usually it's not good.
Usually when everyone's saying price is going up, usually that's when it's like, ah, yeah, price is about to go down because everyone's saying it's going up.
That euphoria is always an indication of the local top.
I never listen.
I never, like, I'm never like, oh, I got to trade.
Because it's like, I don't know.
I'm a long-term crypto guy.
Like, I'm going to be here for a while.
I'm going to hold my tokens for a while.
So I don't really, you know, I don't care.
My exits are not in the foreseeable future.
So it's like, even if it is down, it's like, I don't know.
I'm not going to sell. I'm going to buy back tomorrow. So it's like, even if it is down, it's like, I don't know, I'm not going to sell on a buyback tomorrow.
And it's just too much work.
I mean, I get it when I tell you, you know, I'm one of the OG moggers.
I was there within a month of the token going live, hanging out in those spaces day in and day out.
And I think it was like 90 straight days of red.
And if I could tell you how many of
my friends were like, I see, this is not a good idea. You should sell. Even if it's for a loss,
just get out. And I was like, have faith in my ultra retarded conviction play. Okay. And, uh,
you know, we've, we've gotten some pretty good pumps off that. So if anything that just goes to show, like find a community that you really rock with and, you know, a vision that aligns with yours and just full throttle it because you never know when that bright morning is dawning for you.
I have a similar story with Ticker Bitcoin because I joined, it ran up, and then within like a week, it went from like 10 million market cap down to like 600K.
And I had all my close friends who I had gotten in the token with, it all sold by then.
They're like, you're an idiot. Stop buying. Get out of there. You don't know what you're doing.
And then I bought more when everyone was
talking down on me and saying, you should sell. And I was like, get this. I'm right. You're wrong.
Deal with it. And then eventually I was proved very right. But yeah, sometimes you got to do
that. It's not going to work every time, by the way, guys. You have to actually find good
communities, good projects. But it will work sometimes.
And it's really funny when you can go back and be like, I can't believe you guys sold.
That was so stupid of you.
And then you can be the guy on the other end being like, come on, why'd you sell?

they see the vision,
they understand the scope of what we're building.
And, you know, they're ready and willing to wait very patiently for what I just know is going to be a diabolical hook.

um but yes so funny thing about this is you, we've been working on this collection for over a year now.
The amount of time and effort that has gone into not only, you know, 3D modeling all of these bears,
these traits, but rigging them to be fully functional VTubers as well, has been an enormous undertaking.
So our main goal with this collection was to broaden the horizons of not only Baritone's community, but Baritain's community as much as possible.
We've been working like dogs since January, allocating whitelist.
And a majority of the whitelist, to be honest with you,
has gone to non-BARA ecosystems and communities worldwide,
a lot of gaming communities especially.
And so we had originally decided on a supply of 11,111 classic angel numbers with that goal in mind to just bring as many new people
to the Barrett ecosystem as possible, especially knowing that, you know, we are building for the
long term. There's going to come a day, mark my words words where there are more than 11 000 baritone players so
we have that future vision you know centerfold in our minds um and you know it also that decision
was made when market conditions were a little better obviously this was before the chain went live the hype was at an all-time high um and the fun about it to be honest is that
i had communicated the supply uh quite a few times and places so when we had originally
announced the mint details the big reveal for us was the mint price not the supply and we did
receive a lot of backlash criticism but some very respectful and constructive some that was not
quite as respectful but that's okay uh and that was really shocking to us. But, you know, we do first and foremost just love our community.
Like, our community is literally the reason that we exist, that we're living.
You know, we can't do this without you guys.
So as, you know, difficult as it was to hear all of the negativity, we read through all of it.
all of the negativity. We read through all of it and immediately the team decided,
all right, you know, we need to change some things here. So we did end up reducing supply
to 6,500 and then the mint price to 65 from the original 77. Now that does mean, like I mentioned before, we've been working on
allocating whitelists since January. Guaranteed is now a bit over allocated. It was actually our
original intention to not over allocate guaranteed because I've been on the mint side myself where,
you know, I have a guaranteed whitelist and I don't know that it's over allocated. I show up to mint and it's sold out. I'm like, oh,
cool. So I guess it wasn't really guaranteed. So we really do hope that the community understands
the circumstances surrounding that. So if you are in guaranteed, please make sure you are showing up to that guaranteed phase right on the dot to secure your baritoner or baritoners because we did allow whitelist stacking.
And we could have taken away the whitelist stacking and changed it to one per wallet, which we considered.

the face to everyone as well, because I'd been telling everyone, whitelists are stackable this
whole time. So, you know, we've done the very best we can to make the situation right by our
community, make sure that we really listen and react accordingly uh with the new mint details we
have gotten nothing but positive reception which has been a huge relief um there was one person in
our discord a day or two ago who was like 6500 seems a bit scarce and i was like like, don't, don't, no, don't you dare.

But yeah, so we, we did, you know,
really just want to prioritize that communication to our community that like we listen to them, are here for them um so you know the positive
reception with the amended mint details has just been hugely relieving that our community you know
respects and understands that we are human at the end of the day and uh we do sometimes do things that go, whoops.

Like things change, sentiment change.
Like there's so many things that can change. So it's very, very good to see a team listening, acting, and changing things for, again, what they feel is the best for the community, you know, with the community in mind.
Because at the end of the day, it's like, you know, the project is raising less.
You're doing this for the community.
Like, there's less supply.
The mint price went down.
Like, that's a community move.
That's not a, I don't know.
I don't know, there's certain projects out there that wouldn't have done that and would have just went ahead, you know.

Others just go right to bad words. And yeah, there's the team's trying. There's really no
reason for that, but you know how it goes. So yeah, it was really good to see.

yeah was it wasn't me begging for whitelist. That's totally not what it was. Okay, awesome. Well, so I guess because you have the playtest going right now, so sailcloth holders only, you mentioned the article holders would be a part of the playtest. I think you said that.
um and so when are the what we're minting tomorrow vtubers the baritone bears are those going to be
available to play test the game or is it is that like when the game actually launches
the nfts kind of get you in apps of frick frack and lootly uh baritoners will be included in
future play test phases as well. And as I mentioned,
you know, the sale cloths have that highest multiplier. Articles have the second highest
multiplier. Baritoners will be receiving the third and final multiplier in our Play to Earn
campaign. So if you don't hold the article, you don't hold the sale cloth, but you do plan to mint or purchase off secondary the baritoner, that is going to give you access earlier than, you know, non-holders to play the game, test it out, and a majority of our RFA is going toward this Play to Earn campaign.
Well, I'm really glad a good game got RFA. Not going to throw one project under the bus, but i know you know what i'm talking about yeah it was actually you know when that whole uh debacle happened we did actually get a little bit
of that like you know secondary backlash of like people then turning toward us and pointing some
fingers like oh are you guys next and we're like dude if only you knew how hard our devs are working,
no way in hell.
Like, we're seeing this through, for better or for worse.
But I feel in my heart that it is going to be for much, much better.
So I'm really excited to, you know, get to a point
where we can start sharing that with the larger audience
beyond the Sailclaw folders.

it's like the actual play to earn uh are you going to have to have an nft to play or are there going
to be because i know you mentioned a multiplier so i know if you have an nft you're going to have
better chances of earning uh but is anyone going to be able to play or is it going to be like
essentially like whitelisted when the full game comes out oh yeah that's a really great sorry great uh question so in our play to earn campaign that is going to be exclusively for our like
play testing phase once the game officially releases it is going to be a free to play game

In case anyone missed the little line item, baritoners will actually act as in-game avatars.

been some issues with
Mac users getting it to work.
Rest assured, I have been telling these devs that a majority of crypto degens
are Mac maxis. Mac-sies? Uh-huh. So we are going to be having it fixed up here soon. We're basically
at the mercy of like waiting for the Apple support to respond to the
devs to get it appropriately added to the app store so that it like works as it should. So if
anyone can ping whoever the new Apple CEO is, that would be huge ups. And then it is going to be
mobile compatible as well. Devs are building a mobile version simultaneously as they build for Windows and Mac.
So upon game release, you will be able to access from your mobile device.
I don't believe we do plan to do our playtest phases on mobile, at least not at first.
We may toward the end just to make sure everything is working right
there um so for the play test phases itself just plan to do on some form of pc oh and we are
partnered with joy as well so if you uh can't wait to get your pause on a joy device you can look forward to baritone being available on it too.
And I hear they're also going to do some baritone skins for their consoles.

to kind of open up more on the crypto stuff uh so fingers crossed that by the time the game releases
or maybe shortly after we're going to start to see some major shifts in that because that's gonna
you know obviously open the doors for us just getting it available on as many platforms as possible.
Yeah, yeah. I'm a big console gamer, so I've always dreamed of being able to play these silly crypto games on my Xbox. And yeah, I think it's more of like a regulation thing,
like you mentioned. I think people just aren't super comfortable with crypto yet, but also we're kind of seeing things change in that aspect. So who knows? really focused on getting Baritone into the hands of Web2 gamers as well.
Understandably, I'm sure as we all know, there is still quite a sour taste in the mouths of a lot of
our Web2 comrades. But, you know, with Baritone, the team's first and foremost focus with the game is building a game that is just genuinely
fun to play. We are being mindful of designing how the crypto presents itself in the game,
meaning that if you're a Web2 gamer, you hate crypto, you think it's all a scam,
it's not going to be an intrusive element to your gameplay experience if you don't want it to be.
And so we're hoping that by taking this approach, it's really going to kind of soften that outer shell that a lot of our Web2 gamers have when it comes to Web3 products i've long been bullish on uh crypto applied to gaming because you know like one of the
one of the favorite examples i like to give is like warzone i remember warzone one me and my
friends would play every day um i grinded for so many skins, so many guns. And when that switch from Warzone 1 to Warzone 2
happened, none of them transferred. And it ticked me off so bad that I just stopped playing Warzone.
And so this is where crypto really comes in handy because most of the items that you're going to see in baritone are going to be
backed by nft technology we will have our own baritone marketplace um it's actually already
built and it looks fucking phenomenal if i do say so myself um and so that's just going to like give
so much independence and ownership of those in-game assets that you work so hard to earn,
achieve, purchase, etc. So I think that, you know, it depends on how it's presented. So we are being
very, very mindful of how we're going about in this development phase. But if you do it the right way, I think that there's a lot of
opportunity to genuinely educate Web2 gamers on what crypto is. It's not all just pump fun rug
pulls and scams, but there is some serious technology that I think has that ability to
technology that I think has that ability to positively reframe and improve the gaming
industry as large.
It's, I'm really glad you brought that up.
I, I've been feeling this way a long time about games because every game now you have
to buy their in-game currency to buy the, uh you're playing Madden, to get the special cards for the special players, for Fortnite, for the skins, Call of Duty, same thing, skins, weapon skins, blah, blah, blah.
It would be so much easier if that was just crypto.
But no one likes crypto outside of our little bubble.
So it's this weird balance of like, how do we introduce it?
Like you could make it crypto
without the consumer even knowing.

with some Web2 people is like,

crypto and then nft so you could play it in the next game. It could carry over. But yeah, definitely don't use the term NFT.

with the public perception of that.

going to be having so much control and power on the gaming companies themselves uh rather it's

we can help to bridge that gap and provide them that renewed perception with what the heck we're all doing here.

yeah that's a really great question one of the things that we're actually really really excited
about is we are um going to be looking into like ways that we can have an ai game master
incorporated into the game uh so this is going to show up in a couple different ways for example we do want to have like daily tasks to do because i'm the same boat uh like especially hello kitty island adventure
there was a couple months where that was like my pre-bedtime ritual was just get on
you know do the little daily things relax and then drift off into a pleasant sleep
uh so you can definitely look forward to that in baritone our ai game master is
going to be pretty cool in terms of like uh kind of being able to read active data on you know what
players are doing where they you know may want to be nudged in the direction of and kind of custom
tailor that for the gameplay experience.
And then on top of that, there is actually going to be a main storyline to the game.
Can't release any info on it just yet, but it's a really, really cute and endearing story.
And then besides that, there are going to be plenty of other side quests to do, areas to explore.
So, you know, whether you want to jump on and play baritone for a couple minutes at the end of your day,
or whether you're a hardcore gamer and want to grind it all out, there's going to be plenty for you.

combat arena uh because come to find out you know bears are very thrilled at the opportunity to kill
each other uh in baritone of course so there is going to be combat uh you do see it in our first
play test that is going to be greatly

fighting styles

It's a good question because I'm not necessarily a dev i don't i'm sure that that is a possibility as of right now at least we have just like a a live wallet read um i don't think it
would be out of the question especially if it's been done before to do something like a delegation
um so that's something that i can certainly follow up with on the devs.

But something I was thinking about when you were talking about that,
it would be really cool to hit the abstract streaming
and kind of try to get some of their audience to check out Baritone.

with my VTuber and he's like, I got a job for you. And that's actually how I got connected with
Baritone. Wow. Oh, that's, oh, that's awesome. Yeah, no, I think, uh, I think you're cooking.
