It is very cloudy and rainy outside.
Oh my goodness.
Same over here.
I'm still waiting for summer.
I feel like I've been waiting for summer for like a year.
Oh my gosh.
Wait, where are you?
Where are you right now?
I'm in the Pacific Northwest.
So the West Coast of Canada, Vancouver Island.
I'm in the Pacific Northwest too.
I'm in Portland right now and it is pouring rain or was, it looks like.
Oh, it was, it was, yeah, we got a little bit of sun, but I need things.
GM, everyone.
Well, shoot, we should just jump right to it, but I'll, I'll let everyone on stage give intros
and then we'll start bringing some folks on stage to begin.
Um, oh, cool.
We've got chat, and then let me add a speaker too, but, um, my name is Annalisa.
I do marketing over here at, I was going to say Gitcoin.
Oh my gosh.
Freedom slip.
Um, I do marketing at Biddlebox and, uh, joined here with Jonas.
I'll, uh, let Jonas give your intro and then move on to Gitcoin too.
Thank you so much.
So I'm Jonas.
I'm part of the Biddlebox growth team.
Uh, I'm here to, uh, make sure that all of our biddlers as well as our sponsors are
successful and super exciting to, uh, for the conversation today.
I just got my first round of donations in, so looking forward to hear more about some
more projects to fund in GG20.
So yeah, thank you.
I'm a Tilda.
Hello everyone.
Uh, my name is Matilda.
I'm behind the Gitcoin account here.
Um, I'm the Gitcoin Grants Coms lead and yeah, super happy to be here.
Um, if you want me to give a TLDR on GG20, I can, um, if there's anything you want me
to cover, just let me know.
Is it anything you'd like me to go over before, before we start?
We do also have, um, two members of our team Tiger on stage with us as well.
Um, David and Izzy, um, that are going to also be speaking to, yeah, to what they've
been doing and supporting with during GG20, as well as the hackathon around specifically.
So super excited to have them here on stage with us too.
But, um, yeah, let me know if there's anything else you want me to cover.
Actually, yes.
Uh, could you give us a TLDR on, uh, GG season 20 and, uh, specifically the hackathon alumni
round and, um, it being new to, to Gitcoin Grants.
So GG20 kicked off a few days ago, um, which is super exciting.
This is the first round of, um, the year and it's also a 20th round.
So it's a huge celebration.
It is also the round, um, we have really gone back to our roots of open source software.
So, uh, you know, if you've been around Gitcoin for a while, we used to have cause rounds,
cause rounds, like, you know, web three community as well.
And climate, climate has now graduated out of our program.
Um, so there's like a lot of things that have changed within the program.
I won't go into too much detail there, but the one thing that's really exciting is our,
like, we've like reestablished our commitment on open source software.
And part of that is spinning up a brand new round for hackathon alumni, um, which is, um,
yeah, which is great.
So basically our objective here is to just nurture and support projects that originated in recent
hackathons and have shown potential for significant contribution to the OSS.
Community and yeah, it is, um, it is really, it's just so amazing to see projects come in.
I think it's like a really amazing funnel for builders, you know, from, you know, from the
hackathon, from the hackathon journey into a Gitcoin grants where they can get funding.
So I think it's a really amazing first, like experiment, so to speak, but I'm really excited
to see the future of this and just to see it grow round of round after round.
I mean, you know, we've, we've gotten some really good applications and can't wait to hear
from projects today, but that's, that's the TLDR.
Um, just a reminder that passport is working very differently this round.
You don't need to collect stamps.
You don't need to get, collect a passport or anything.
Everything is happening in the background now.
Um, that's the biggest change there.
Uh, we've also created collections.
Like there's a whole bunch of really cool features that have shipped.
Just keep an eye out on the Gitcoin Twitter as well.
I will also link the grants portal in the comments and I will pin it to the top.
Um, there you will find all the resources that you need, um, for, for the round.
But I think I would also throw it over to either David or Izzy if they want to add anything.
Um, and David specifically been looking after the hackathon round through support.
So yeah, we'd love to, to love to throw it over to, to you to introduce yourself.
And if there's anything you asked, you want to add for the hackathon round.
Hey everyone, GM, GM, GM, sorry for being rugged every time.
Can you guys hear me now?
Yeah, you're good.
David here from Team Tiger.
Been helping out with Gitcoin.
Support specifically in the hackathon round.
Um, I'm also fortunate enough to be building Shetta Fischer over there.
And we've also been, uh, we also in the hackathon round as well.
Uh, it's been such a great experience really overall.
Um, uh, it's my first time hoping I will Gitcoin obviously, but, uh, um, it's just a bit of a
shame that most of the projects are, are from, uh, European and, uh, I'd say the Western
countries, you know, I've seen many from the global South, you know, specifically African
South America.
So I'd love to see that for a change, you know, but overall, uh, the process has been smooth.
You know, it's been great.
Like there's so many great, uh, projects, you know, um, been helping with feedback, uh, the
support there has been amazing as well.
Um, yeah, basically happy to be here at JAM, you know, meet some incredible projects as
well here, learn from more projects and, uh, yeah, get the name as well.
So the way we'll, uh, I think this is our first time hosting a, an actual show space,
um, from my knowledge.
So, uh, excuse me if I'm a little shaky on this, but the way we are going to run this
today, uh, if you have a project in, uh, GG season 20, am I, I hope I'm saying, is it
GG 20 or GGS 20?
I'm it's GG, it's GG 20.
Well, I will correct that in the title, but amazing, uh, feel free to raise your hand.
Uh, we'll go in, uh, we'll go in order of, uh, who's on stage first.
Uh, I do see a couple of folks in here that I, uh, I tweeted out this link to, so I might
candidly pull you on stage, but would love to hear about your project, uh, what hackathon
you participated in and, uh, feel free to drop any links into the chat.
And I'm more than happy to, uh, put that on the jumbotron.
Um, depending on how this goes, uh, if we do get a lot of folks presenting, I might, uh,
cut y'all on time.
So aim to talk for about, let's, let's shoot for three to five minutes max.
I hope I'm doing that math correctly, but, uh, I'll actually, oh, uh, Matilda, anything?
Um, no, sorry.
I don't mean to interrupt you, but, um, yeah, um, finish your thought first, then I'll go.
Oh, no, it's all good.
Uh, I mean, I'm, I'm ready to, I'm ready to dive in, but, uh, any, any other words from
our co-hosts up here?
Thank you so much.
Um, yeah, I mean, you know, usually show spaces, yeah, like, I don't think we've got a
lot of people in, um, you know, in the crowd today.
So we can probably, um, we can probably just, um, yeah, do a few minutes each.
That sounds great to me.
Um, I wonder if we can get Izzy up on stage too.
I don't know if he can actually hear me.
It seems like there's a little bit of a rug going on, but, um, hopefully he can hear me.
Um, but we'd love to just get him on stage as well, just to introduce himself.
He's also part of Team Tiger and he had a support, um, cause I'll only be able to stay
for the first half an hour.
Um, but the rest of the team will be able to support further.
Where is he's decentralized, um, CEO.
Oh, we got him.
I think I was getting a little rugged here.
Um, are you good?
Can you guys hear me now?
Great, great, great.
Um, I didn't really catch the last thing that was, uh, said.
But, uh, I'll just, uh, go ahead and do a quick introduction.
Um, um, I'm Izzy.
I've been helping a lot with, uh, the Tiger team for GG20 doing a lot of reviews, specifically
focusing on, uh, Web3 infrastructure.
And I'm pretty excited about GG20 and, like, direction is going, uh, how Gitcoin is going
back to the OS, um, to the, um, open, open source, um, software route.
So, and, like, thing, what I can say about the review process that I've noticed is that,
like, it's given me a lot of opportunities to see, like, what projects are working on
and how, um, how they're making it a lot easier for individuals to interact, individuals or
other organizations to interact with the Web3 or with the, uh, Ethereum ecosystem and
Ethereum infrastructure itself.
Like, how, like, they're making it a lot more simple to, uh, you, to create validator nodes,
to create nodes, and, um, just a lot of amazing things that's going on, a lot of amazing projects
that I've seen.
And I'm excited to hear a little bit more about them during this shill space and a couple
more to come this, uh, next few weeks.
I hope, I hope you guys hear me.
I didn't run.
Twitter is acting weird.
I can, I can hear you perfectly.
All right, great, yeah.
So, yeah, that was the, a quick introduction.
Um, is there anything specifically that you wanted me to cover?
Because I didn't hear the last part of, uh, all I heard was my name at the end, so I just
started, uh, giving a little bit of a summary.
No, that was perfect.
Thank you so much.
Yeah, I heard you just super late.
All right.
Are we ready to go?
Let's do it.
Um, I believe isn't, isn't, uh, Chad, you are part of the hackathon, uh, you are part of
the hackathon alumni run, is that correct?
We could kick things off with, with your project.
All right.
Hey guys, uh, Sima here from Chetofisha, Tanzania, East Africa.
Hi everyone.
Great to be here.
Um, nice to see some familiar faces.
Izzy, what up?
Um, yeah, build and shield, GG20, hackathon alumni.
We are part of the hackathon alumni at Chetofisha.
Um, and, uh, what we have been building over here is a decentralized platform.
Of course, for, uh, proof of impact, um, in different regenerative, um, regenerative practices.
Um, so, um, the problem that, um, we saw was a lack of verification of impact, verification and
measurement of impact.
Um, and we kind of started off with the waste management sector.
Um, so, you know, we decided that, um, since it's such a blatant issue in our, in our society,
you know, waste management and, and plastic waste, uh, specifically, um, you know, we did a little,
we did a little survey around waste centers and we took, um, you know, the, uh, some, some,
some, some, some feedback and, and, um, um, did some interviews and questionnaires with the waste centers.
And we discovered, um, of course, that other than the very low or unfair compensation that they get
for, um, you know, um, you know, the great work that they do, uh, which is around like,
you know, 300 T shillings for a kilo of plastic.
Like, um, that is like less, less, less than a dollar.
It's like 0.1 something.
Um, uh, other than that, you know, we, we had people, you know, uh, we had waste centers,
We had waste center managers tell us that, um, despite being loyal to these recyclers,
they were having trouble accessing, um, credit, right.
They were having trouble, um, say, uh, a mother who wants to get a little loan for their children's
school fees and things of that nature.
And it was, it's just hard for them to run their businesses, um, because they have to
pay for everything and like earn a very, very little margins.
So, you know, we, we decided that we, we, we want to add value in that sector, um, by, you
know, taking into account their impact and, um, and, and, and putting this, um, measurement,
um, mechanism and, and verification mechanism for, uh, for their, uh, for the, for the waste
workers, but we've also, um, participated in eat safari hackathon in Nairobi.
Um, my, my, my guys, uh, David and Victor were participating in that.
Um, you know, of course, working with, um, marginalized communities, but also really, you
know, working on getting as many people on board, uh, with three.
So we have, uh, uh, uh, university, uh, blockchain club that we, uh, just recently launched and,
you know, like, um, you know, putting people onto the new, um, internet and, um, you know,
just telling them about, uh, and, and, um, uh, educating about web three and all the great
opportunities that are here.
Um, that is what we have been working on.
As you can see with like, as David said, we're the only African, um, uh, project over here.
So like, you know, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, uh, it's, uh, it's a thing that we're, we're
really working on, um, bringing and onboarding as many people.
And the education part is really crucial for our community.
So we're really looking forward for, to this round, like, um, to, to get as many donations
as we can so we could, you know, drive the impact.
Um, we are a team of very passionate individuals.
Um, we love what we do.
Um, refi and, um, the web three space is amazing.
And I think it offers great, great opportunities.
Also, um, a marketplace.
We also have a marketplace that we're building.
Almost forgot, um, where we will be, um, where we, where we'll be having our ecological
So for, you know, after measuring and verifying the impact, we, uh, the plan is to generate
eco credits, um, ecological assets, um, from these different impact projects, and then
having them on our marketplace for impact investors to actually, you know, um, have access to, and
I mean, really, um, you know, participate in the sustainability.
So we are offering, um, um, um, impact certificates, um, AKA, um, carbon backed NFTs, and that is
our whole, um, infrastructure.
So, you know, still the MVP is not completely a hundred percent still.
So we need all the donations guys.
So we can, you know, get this thing moving.
Let's grow.
Let's build.
I hope I didn't miss anything.
Thank you guys.
Thank you very much.
And I went ahead and I linked Chata Fisha to, uh, the Jumbotron here.
So, and I also added it to my personal cart for my next, uh, for my next round of donations.
So thank you so much for sharing.
Um, now we're going to go ahead and move on to, uh, next that we have on stage.
We have Will, uh, Will, what's, what's going on?
Um, Hey guys, can you hear me?
There's a little bit of echo, but you're good.
So, yeah, um, just North of the last speaker at Cata Fisha.
I'm, I'm just above, uh, Mombasa here in Kenya.
And, um, what we've been doing at Grassroots Economics in the last few years has been a big
transition to supporting groups, uh, of people and Chama's community groups, businesses to
issue tokens as, uh, vouchers as ERC-20, um, tokens on Celo.
And then what we do is we create, uh, essentially exchanges and marketplaces for them to list
And then we allow people to seed those like add CUSD, add stable coins to support those
And so what we're looking at at, uh, GG20 here is basically seeding specifically groups
doing a form of traditional agroforestry.
It's called Mweria here on the coast where basically the community pools together their
commitments, their digital assets.
And then like each family in a farm can go and say, I want to pull on those commitments
to get everyone to help me do agroforestry and help me, uh, remodel my house, you know,
put a new roof on, but also, uh, you know, a huge amount of farming in exchange for my
assets, my commitment to help them with their farms.
And so you end up with this kind of rotational labor cycles around, we, we focus on centropic
agroforestry.
We've got a lot of trainers here from Brazil, um, but using these traditional, like super,
super ancient, um, rotational labor models, and then turning those into protocol on chain
and so that you can see what's happening.
So there's a huge amount of impacts going around.
I would say our, we, we could use, um, support on the, the impact measurement side of it.
We're still very old school on the impact measurement side.
We're usually using a lot of like WhatsApp groups and Google forms and, you know, GPS stuff,
and it's all going on Google drive.
But we're still a little bit old school on that, but you can see the flow of all of these
vouchers moving around, uh, serafu.network is our decentralized app.
People are also onboarding and offboarding through Valora right now, um, in order to go from like
Kenyan shillings on and off between like cello USD.
And, um, yeah, it's been, it's been a beautiful journey, beautiful transition.
We're really happy to be on cello.
We're also validator node on cello, uh, as well.
And so we give free gas to anyone to onboard onto cello and, uh, just happy to be here and
super happy that, uh, the onboarding for, um, Gitcoin is now easy.
I was really, really upset about it last time.
We had a lot of people who wanted to support us last time and we're like, this is too complicated.
And now it looks really easy.
So thank you guys.
Glad to be here.
Good luck with everybody.
Can I ask you a quick question, Will?
Uh, what's the name of this?
Of the what?
What's the name of the grant?
I, I actually, I'm not sure.
I think it might just say grassroots economics.
Uh, can it happen that it's not live as of right now?
I think I stuck a link in the, in the chat for it.
I think it, I think it is, it's not, it's all good.
I got you on the, I got you on the Jumbotron regardless.
And, uh, the, the, your, uh, your grant is linked there.
Thank you guys.
Thank you so much for sharing.
All right.
Um, up next, um, Mimi, I brought you on stage.
I am here.
Can you guys hear me loud and clear?
Yes, I can.
Awesome sauce.
Uh, so hello.
Uh, my name is Mimi.
Um, I also go by Evelyn.
Mimi's the nickname, uh, but you can call me Mimi.
That's fine.
Um, so my project is, uh, called, uh, web3.js faucet plugin for test nets.
I linked, I put the, uh, explorer link, uh, in the threads.
Uh, I also, uh, have been doing a lot, uh, as far as GG20, uh, as far as trying to keep
us safe, reposting the web3 security.
Um, um, web3 security, uh, spaces conversation that happened earlier and keeping an eye out
for scammers already and posting them.
So just feel free to follow me for all things GG20, uh, this round.
I even have a list, uh, that you guys can follow that I'm adding people to, uh, a GG20 list.
So again, my project is, uh, web3.js, um, faucet plugin for test nets.
So my project is built on web3.js, which is, um, by chain safe to improve the developer experience.
Their point is to, uh, onboard more developers, bring them over to web3, more developers, more
users, more adoption, and the ecosystem grows.
So not only is my, not only is the plugin, um, web3.js, but it also integrates TableLand,
uh, which is a, uh, a database, uh, a SQL, uh, database where you can create tables.
And so the plugin will call, uh, on the blockchain, will call to those tables, uh, for information
and then read and write, uh, and update, uh, databases for you.
So I entered, I, um, am, uh, a hackathon alumni.
Uh, I recently participated in the LearnWeb3 Decentralized Intelligence Hackathon Season 2.
Uh, and, um, this was, I submitted a proposal for the idea-thon.
Uh, I actually had a few other ideas.
I narrowed it down to this one.
So I created the proposal and I was actually done with the proposal pretty early.
So I said, you know what, let me try.
I'm a, I'm still a baby dev and I'm a team of one.
I'm doing this on my own.
But I said, you know what, I'm going to try my hand at building this.
I have time.
I have, you know, I had about a week or so.
So I started building it and, you know, for being a baby dev, I think I did pretty decently.
However, I couldn't submit to the build bounty because the testing got in the way.
So, and I ran out of time.
So I did end up placing third in the idea-thon.
And, uh, with that said, uh, I decided to take this, this wave and just write it for momentum.
And then right afterwards, I saw this, uh, funding round coming up and I said, you know
I was a winner.
I placed, um, I've gotten a lot of feedback that this is something that's needed and that
developers are excited for.
So, you know what, why the hell not?
So I did it.
And here I am.
Uh, so the issue that I've been healing, hearing from developers as well as, um, community
managers and admins, uh, is that bots tend to take all the test net tokens.
Uh, and then, you know, that doesn't leave any tokens left for the developers who are needing
to test their projects.
Then there's also, um, the tedious task of doling out or distributing, uh, test net tokens to
developers.
So, uh, my plugin, uh, seeks to solve those, solve two of those problems and just to prove
the, uh, developer experience all around.
So the solution is, uh, is private faucet automation.
Uh, and, uh, I really believe that the two things that we need for mass adoption, uh, are
going to be automation because this shit is, is, is complicated and people, you need to automate
it and, but also security because people, since it is complicated, it's scary.
So this, uh, plugin, uh, touches on those things.
Uh, so, uh, it's a tool designed, uh, to streamline the process of obtaining test net tokens for
developers working on right now, Ethereum based projects.
Uh, and, um, I would like for it to actually, uh, be accessible in the command line, uh, as
well as, uh, developer environments.
Uh, so, um, some of the features, uh, that I actually was able to code in is user request
So request validation, uh, database integration with, uh, table land, which is address verification
checks the, checks the, uh, table and database to verify if the user has already claimed test
net tokens preventing double spending and then, uh, uh, claim record management, um, Ethereum
blockchain interaction transaction, sending gas management, uh, as well as, uh, user feedback
and error handling confirmation messages, uh, and error handling as well as some security features
as far as, um, um, encrypting, uh, private keys.
Uh, so that is my, um, that's my project in a nutshell.
Um, and this plugin is, uh, is needed to streamline the development of testing, uh, streamline the
development and testing process, create a more reliable testing environment, prevent double
spending and faucet abuse, enhance security, transparency, and trust.
And improve the developer experience all around.
So, uh, you can, uh, again, follow me, uh, for all things GT20.
I'm posting just a bunch of stuff, some personal stuff, some just kind of high, how are you stuff?
And then a lot of just, you know, staying safe out there, other projects, uh, shout out
to Dragverse, um, another project that's awesome.
Uh, and, um, yeah, and then feel free to.
Click the link in my profile, uh, which, um, is milkshake slash, um, faucet plugin for more
information.
And again, my, uh, my GG20.
Oh, I see it's on the jumbotron here and it's also in the thread.
So thank you.
I'm done speaking.
Thank you very much, Mimi.
I went ahead and, uh, put her list on the jumbotron and also, uh, her project.
So be sure to check it out.
Um, uh, moving on.
I know we've got quite a few folks, so I'm going to do this in order of, of, in which
I've added, uh, we've got, uh, crypto Rohit.
We've got WalletX and then Tonto Legend.
Love to see you up here.
And, um, anyone else, if you have a project that you'd like to share that is in the hackathon
alumni round, uh, please, uh, to help us out.
So, uh, go ahead, you could go ahead and, uh, request to speak and then also to help
us out even more, uh, just drop your project link into the chat and, uh, I'll know to go
ahead and bring you up on stage.
Um, and yeah, crypto Rohit, you are up next.
Thank you so much.
Uh, firstly, I'd like to thank you guys to, uh, arranging this session.
I think that's really exciting.
Uh, the project that I'm going to talk about today is, uh, WalletX.
You guys can see it is also in the speaker, uh, session here.
Uh, the unique, we've participated in the alumni round and, uh, we are hoping to be in the top
So fingers are crossed, but I'd like to introduce the, uh, the wallet.
It is the first wallet in the world that allows users to do gasless transactions on the
So if the wallet actually is live, you can go ahead and download it.
It is a web-based, uh, browser-based extension and, uh, you can download it and you can essentially
do on-chain transactions, uh, um, without paying any gas fees.
The way we do this is pretty unique because we've created an advertisement layer.
We believe this is going to change the way advertisements happen in the web-3 industry.
For the first time, the advertiser will have the way to, uh, to collaborate or to show their
ads to an on-chain advertiser when they are doing those transactions.
Uh, and the user of WalletX will have a way to monetize his attention when he's doing that,
uh, on-chain transaction.
Uh, of course, these are all based on consent of the user and the wallet itself is a, um,
non-custodial wallet.
But it lives inside your browser and there are a lot of exciting other things as well.
For example, batch transactions, uh, there's, uh, there's an address book completely inside
Uh, and, uh, so we're pretty excited.
This is the first time we are, uh, participating, uh, like this and we are first time founders
And we've bootstrapped this project on our own.
So that's, that's, uh, you know, that's pretty unique, uh, for us as well.
So this whole journey is, uh, has been quite, uh, uh, uh, experience for us, uh, but, uh,
we are looking to learn a lot from this process.
And, uh, uh, uh, we are one of the, one of the top projects right now in the, in the
alumni round.
So, uh, all the, all you guys who are listening, you know, just a dollar also counts.
So, so hoping to get your, uh, support, uh, please do check out our project.
Uh, I think it's pretty unique.
We might be able to change the way advertisements really work in the web three industry.
Uh, happy to discuss more.
If anybody would like to do that, my DM is open and, uh, thanks a lot.
I mean, uh, for, for, for creating this session.
Thank you very much for sharing.
And I went ahead and, uh, put your link up on the Jumbotron for everyone to share.
And, uh, so cool.
That actually got, uh, wallet X and, uh, up next.
Um, also if everyone can help us out, I think, uh, Tonto, I might be able to have your link
on shorthand.
I thought I had it open, but, uh, Tonto, what's good.
Tell us about your project.
Um, wow, this is like so many legends on this round.
Uh, GM guys checked out wallet X of like a month or a bit ago.
Um, super cool what they're doing.
I would also just like mentioned, I don't know if you guys saw on Farcaster, but there
was someone who built like ad frame at the frame itself is just a set greeting, but it's
an on-chain like, uh, example of an on-chain market or an ad place.
So it's really cool.
You have like Coinbase ads and like the big business ads subsidizing gas, but imagine he's
been just like web three peer to peer users paying for your gas to show an ad is just
So wallet X, please check out that, uh, Farcaster frame and GM everyone.
Um, Tonto DeFi, I'm so honored to be a part of this round.
There's so many legend projects in the round, um, that it's just awesome to have D stealth
Um, it is a redo of, uh, a hackathon project that uses, uh, ERC five, six, six, four, which
just kind of went through an audit by Umbra, I think.
So it's using stealth addresses.
So, you know, um, blockchains are obviously everything's really trackable, but the ability
to kind of send pseudo private payments on ETH, uh, mainnet is a pretty cool feature of
stealth addresses.
So my project is just focused on, uh, you know, making those addresses easily creatable
and accessible.
Um, and yeah, so please throw a dollar my way, but please throw five to everybody else's
Cause it's just such an amazing round of projects like Dino, Dino S 95.
I saw is in here.
Um, everything built with scaffold ETH is amazing.
Upstore by Amir is amazing.
Wallet X is changing the game.
Um, when mobile, you know, when token, uh, when airdrop, love you guys all GG 20 round.
Um, fire, thank you for always bringing the vibes, uh, and, uh, thought it's really cool
that, uh, I, I believe these stealth came from Biddle Hacks that, which was Biddlebox's
first open hackathon and, oh, and you won prizes in two categories.
I'm reading your description right now.
So great to see you here.
Great to have you here.
Linked you up there too.
Um, oh, and then, uh, Izzy, did you, you got your hand raised?
I just want to say, man, like kudos to Tanto.
I really like admire what he just said just a second ago.
Like, uh, you can donate, donate a dollar to my project, but $5 to other projects.
That's just the spirit of collaboration.
And that's what it's about.
And I love it.
I love it.
I love it.
I know fire.
I literally can always count on Tanto to bring, bring the good vibes on stage.
Tanto anything?
No, no, I'm done for the day.
Let's move it on.
But I appreciate you, brother.
All right.
Well, we, speaking of Upstore, we have Amir here on stage.
Also, uh, Biddlebox Biddler.
Tell us about your project.
I'll pull up the link for you too.
Can you hear me?
GM, everyone.
I work as a full-stack developer, uh, full-stack vector developer at Rata Labs.
Uh, we built, uh, DatoStore and DatoStore Shield.
And, uh, especially we, we submitted a project for the, of the hackathon on Biddlebox.
And we are so excited about this round.
Uh, actually it's my first time sending a project to a grant.
And, uh, uh, also it's, it's my first time talking in Twitter space, by the way.
So, first of all, I would like to mention about the problems, uh, we solved, uh, unfortunately,
the first problem is scan projects.
Yeah, our DatoStore Shield can, uh, helps, uh, people to, uh, recognize, uh, scan projects
and easily they can verify their projects.
Uh, when they redirect to a link, uh, easily if they install the DatoStore Shield, they can
verify the Dapp.
So, it helps people to, uh, trust projects, especially crypto projects, easily.
The second problem, which, uh, we have in, uh, ecosystems is about the map.
Uh, when we join a hackathon, we would like to know more about the ecosystem.
For example, how many, uh, projects, uh, are built on the ecosystem.
So, we can easily make decision, which one is, uh, first priority or top priority, or which
one is popular for people, for users.
So, we can make decision, uh, which one is, uh, which category is the first or top priority
to build and join the hackathon.
Um, the second one is, uh, about the, um, uh, yeah, solution.
Uh, the solution is, uh, everything is located on chain almost, uh, on DatoStore.
Users easily, or the creators easily can submit their data and they store, uh, their, uh, information
as a metadata on, uh, IPFS, then store the CID on, uh, blockchain, which is great.
Uh, they can submit, uh, project description, uh, multimedia-like video introduction for their
project, and even we store the user's like, uh, on a blockchain, which is great to determine,
uh, which project is more, uh, uh, popular, uh, between the, uh, other dApps.
So, also, I would like mention about the future updates, uh, updates, uh, we're gonna support
the other chains, the first chain we supported, uh, was Luxo, but we're gonna add the, uh, rest
of chains, and we're gonna support all of them, hopefully, and, uh, the second big update
from the Apple Store is about, uh, running a grant program, uh, exactly like something
like Gitcoin.
So, easily, they can ask for a grant from the, uh, owner of the chain or, uh, owner, owner
of the company so people can see their projects and easily, uh, donate or support by the community.
Thank you, everyone.
Good luck.
Thank you so, so much for sharing.
And I went ahead and put a dApp store on the Jumbotron, uh, we got DSTEP, we did WalletX,
we did Mimi's project.
Sorry, Mimi, I don't remember the name off the top of my head, but I got it there, and it
is also in my cart, and we've also got, uh, Grass Econ and Chattafisha all up so far.
And, um, up next, Jensei, I believe.
Hello, hello.
Can you guys hear me?
Yes, we can.
Thanks so much for organizing this, and also really cool to hear about, uh, all the projects
people are building.
It's really dope to see.
I love to also see the, um, the hackathon, hackathon, uh, alumni round.
I think that's awesome.
It feels like every time I come to a hackathon, there's so many crazy ideas, um, and impactful
At the same time, they not, they don't usually, you know, uh, continue the building.
Maybe lack of funds, right?
I think, uh, people have always, uh, the need to, to put food in the mouth.
So that's, I think this is very helpful.
Uh, so thanks.
Thanks a lot for that.
Um, uh, I'm gonna speak, uh, just very briefly about the hackathon project that we did.
It's very fresh and new, not very established.
Uh, this is literally one month old.
We went to, uh, East, uh, Bucharest, which was a hackathon, uh, done for the first time
in, uh, Romania.
It went really great, I must say, and I'm definitely looking forward to, uh, come visiting it again.
Um, we have focused in the beginning, um, we tried to address, like, sort of, um, a privacy
and, um, and quadratic funding and, and funding of public goods, right?
Uh, we realized six hours to the end of the deadline, uh, of the hackathon submissions that
we cannot build what we are aiming to build.
Uh, so we scraped it all off and we said, you know what, let's, let's have fun.
So we built, uh, a project called NoMish.
I also shared it in the comments.
Um, it is a degenerate public goods, non-quadratic funding.
So basically what, what, um, what we realized is that there's so many meme coins and there's
so much trading, uh, there's so much degeneracy happening in crypto.
And we're like, okay, how can we use this often extractive behavior for the good of many?
So, um, of course we know that there is the, one of the incentives of course is, um, is to
get money out of it, which, uh, would be the trading for, of, of the meme coins.
Uh, but there is also a, an aspect of thrill, right?
Like it's, it's essentially a gambling.
So we were thinking, okay, how can we build, um, a good funding, uh, platform that will provide
that thrill, make use of often mean meaningless tokens in a meaningful way and fund public goods.
So this is what we built, um, maybe just briefly to say how it actually works.
The, the, the core of the idea is that there is a round pool where people donate money and
after the round, uh, is closed or it ends, uh, the money gets redistributed.
But the way it gets redistributed is the funny part, right?
So the only tokens that you can actually donate are meme coins, no serious tokens, just meme coins.
Um, then there is like an event of randomness, right?
So after the round closes, um, there is, um, a random function, uh, going through secret network,
um, using their, um, VRS, uh, telling us, uh, choose a random, or we are asking, right?
Like to choose a random project from the list.
It shows us a project.
Then we say, okay, now choose a random token, uh, from all the tokens that has been donated.
Then we match these two together.
So we are not actually saying that, uh, there's also no voting involved, right?
So a hundred percent of whatever the random token has been chosen is going to be allocated to that
random project.
And this is, this keeps going until the pool is depleted and then it repeats again, right?
So that's the first random part of it.
And another random part comes after, okay, so we have the project and we know how many
or what type of token they are getting.
And then we thought, okay, how about we also distribute it randomly?
So we utilize tablier, uh, which is, um, which is a token streaming platform.
And we also, um, draw out a couple of curves.
And there is again, a random selection of the distribution curve.
So the project doesn't necessarily know if they are getting funding, how much they are getting,
in what token they are getting, and how is it going to be distributed?
Um, after that, all is done.
There is still a 1% chance that everybody gets rocked.
This is hard coded.
So there is a chance that nobody gets anything.
And it has all been done just for the memes.
And I guess the funds continue on to the next round.
Or again, the admin wallet can decide to do whatever they want with it.
So we have literally dived into it.
It's like, okay, let's do it for the memes.
Let's have fun with it.
And we ended up winning the hackathon because it's end to end.
We accomplish end to end, uh, functional smart contracts, and it's actually executable.
So after that win, we were thinking, okay, you know what, maybe let's refine this idea.
Uh, we're also speaking with, uh, with Disruption Joe, and he was really keen on the idea.
So we're thinking, okay, you know what, maybe, maybe let's, uh, let's try to do this on Arbitrum
as well and, um, and try to, try to continue with the project.
So I guess, I guess that's about it.
Um, it's a fun project, but at the same time, we are definitely trying to make use of the,
of the meme coins, right, of the extractive behavior and actually use it for the good of,
of, uh, of the meaningful projects that, yeah, are often lacking in funding.
Thanks, uh, thanks for the space.
Check it out and we'll be happy for any donation and definitely, like, check all the projects out.
I've already did my first round of donations into the Hackathon, uh, alumni round and I'll keep an eye
open for all the rest of you guys.
I love it.
Um, I, Pabs, I try to, let me see if I can bring you up on stage to speak next.
Otherwise I'm, I might, I might, uh, read off your, your project and, uh, help you out.
Cause I know that you are participating in the, in the alumni round.
Let's see if you're able to accept my speaker request.
And thank you all so much, uh, for sharing your projects so far.
Uh, I've got everyone who's spoken, uh, up on the Jumbotron.
Uh, so definitely, absolutely check out those projects and, uh, fund, fund those projects.
This is, I believe this Hackathon alumni round is the first of its kind.
So very, very excited, uh, to be hosting this space.
Um, all right, Pabs, I might be saying your project or if anyone else has a project that
they would like to share, I've got Pablocks that I'm going to invite on stage here
Can I shield something?
What's up?
Oh, yes, go for it.
So, um, this round is a first experiment for Gitcoin.
So they've never done a Hackathon alumni round and it's a result of like they're pivoting back
to being open source, um, Maxis and trying their best to kind of fund open source projects.
So, um, I kind of want to ask you for the bottom of my heart as well, to take a look at all the
projects in Hackathon alumni round because the success of the round is also success for all of us.
I love what Tanto, uh, said earlier about like, give me $1, but give the other projects, uh, uh,
five dollars, but, uh, uh, take a look at all the projects and see if there's anything worth,
worth your money, because there's so many amazing ones just looking through, uh, during
this conversation here and everything that's been shared so far. So it's just amazing to see like
the opportunity that's ahead now. It's, it's truly like, um, uh, bullish times for sure.
I love it.
Dang, we had Fablox on, on stage
and I think we lost him.
I think it, I think, uh, he messaged me about the connection issue. So, uh, yeah,
he might not be able to join.
All good. Is he, is he lit up? Were you saying something?
Yeah, I was going to say, like, the bias part of me is just going to call out some people.
Like, I see some Green Pillars in here. I don't know if they have, uh, some projects on this round,
but like the Green Pill Dev Guild, some amazing talent out there. If you guys can talk,
you guys can hop up and like, shill, uh, the Guild. And also Manuel's here, see Athiz.
I don't know if you guys have projects on this round, but just come up and
and let the world know what you're working on.
I'm just saying, if we can't get Fablox on, I need to shill his Dino S for him quickly.
Do it. I put it on the Jumbotron.
Yo, like, so this is amazing. This is styled Windows 95 and it's built using,
it, I think it was ETH London. Like this is like an OG build guild team of just like
rockstar devs that you like, and it's awesome. So it looks like windows 95. It uses account
abstraction. I think you sign in with Google Gmail. Oh, off. It uses dynamic widget to then
create an embedded four, three, three, seven. And you can claim a Dino Dinos, Dino Dinos, uh,
token right after making a wallet. It also has an embedded iframe, which opens up any other app
using kind of like another trick of the build guild is maybe, uh, impersonator dot vision.
If you guys haven't played with this DAP, this thing lets you like load another account and see
a DAP view as if you were logged in as Vitalik, for example. So it uses this iframe, you can open DAPs,
you can like trade with Uniswap, but it's in a GUI that your grandma can use. Uh, Dinos is awesome.
Check it out. You rock. Excuse me. Thank you so much for sharing. Um, you rock for, for showing that
project too. Um, I'll go ahead and read off. Cause I had, I think, uh, year one, uh, has a project here.
And oh my gosh, did I lose it? I think I might have lost. Okay. It's universal grave. Here we go.
Hash lists. I remember universal grave because I believe they participated in the Luxo hackathon,
but, um, I'll get that one up on the Jumbotron, but, uh, we'll just read the quick
we'll read the quick overview. Um, hash lists is a protocol that we're building for the creation
and management of curated lists on the blockchain by organizing blockchain addresses into specific
sets. Hash lists provides a way to manage allow lists, block lists, or other curated groups,
which are useful for conditional on-chain interactions. This is particularly relevant
for enhancing security, controlling access and facilitating community governments.
Wow. I can't speak this morning. Community governance within decentralized ecosystems.
So I will go ahead and I think I might've put that one up on the Jumbotron, but here we go.
There it is right now. Be sure to check out that one as well. And, um, Mimi, I saw you had your hand
raised. Yeah. I was just going to say real quick, I know there's like four minutes left, but do you
need, I'm, I'm happy to step down to make space for somebody else. Um, if you're having trouble adding
people? Oh, nope. I think it was just a connection thing, but it looks like I've got Demoman, um,
from year one connecting currently. Dot, dot, dot. Also. Okay. Perfect. Um, Demoman, it looks like you, um,
are working on year one and I might've already accidentally showed for you, but, uh,
uh, would love to hear it for yourself. Yeah. Yeah. Sure. Sorry. I had trouble, um, joining from,
from year one, but, um, yeah, if I could, uh, take a quick, uh, few minutes to talk about, uh, our
project hash lists. Absolutely. I was just reading straight off your, straight off your page, but
would love to hear from you. Awesome. Thank you. Uh, yeah. Hi everyone. Thanks for this opportunity
and, uh, great, great to hear about all the other projects that are on, um, on as well. So, uh, yeah,
we're, um, uh, basically, uh, uh, working on, um, uh, yeah, I'm representing year one and, um, um, um,
what we are basically, uh, proposing, uh, for, for, for the grant is, uh, a protocol called hash lists and,
uh, the idea is that we, um, it's, it's a protocol to manage, uh, uh, curated lists. So, um, this could,
this would be a, um, a way that you can, um, manage a list of addresses, um, uh, in general,
uh, but on, on chains and on chain protocol. So, um, we, we basically came, uh, across this, uh,
this need in, in, uh, in a few projects and, um, most recently in our recent hackathon, which, um,
I know, uh, I know, uh, I know Loxo was mentioned, uh, here, uh, previously, but, um, uh, we, we built a,
um, a, a project called the universal grave and, um, uh, on, on the, um, Loxo network, um,
um, uh, which is an, an, an AVM, Ethereum, uh, compatible, uh, uh, network. Um, uh, we had the
ability to design, uh, something that would, uh, basically, um, let you, uh, filter out spam that
comes into your wallet, which is a very common problem. So, um, and they, where, where hash lists
could come in is where we could have a global list of, like, safe tokens that could pass through the
kind of spam filter and, and make it to your wallet rather than this other grave that we built. So,
um, yeah, um, effectively, uh, we, we think this protocol could be used by, um, uh, it has many
use cases. So basically it's, it will be, you'll be able to create a list of addresses, uh, for example,
that could, uh, be eligible for an airdrop, uh, and that will all be on chain and, and you can manage
as an owner of the list, like the list of addresses that are on, on that list. Um, it can be, uh, uh,
a curated list of verified, of vetted contract addresses, for example, um, and so on. Um, you know,
um, it could be a list of verified wallet addresses that you, you want to kind of like use to manage
access control on, on the blockchain, uh, or manage governance or, you know, just, you know,
manage community interactions. Um, so yeah, um, we, we think this, this, uh, would be, would be great
for the whole ecosystem and, um, we want to make lists great again.
Amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. And, um, let me see. I know we have some,
some activity in the chat going on. Uh, if anyone else has a project to share that is participating
in the hackathon alumni round or just in general and, uh, uh, GG 20, please, uh, feel free to raise
your hand. I'll give it a couple more minutes, uh, before I start calling people out to like,
let me see. And okay. Well, candidly, I'm going to, um, I'm going to invite drag verse on stage.
I know drag verse, uh, you are a hackathon alumni, but you're not part of, uh, particularly the hackathon
alumni round, but, uh, I went ahead and send a speaker invite. Oh, and then, well, you might need
to pause on that because we've got unwell as well. All right. Actually we'll go in order from, uh,
the way I've added, um, drag verse. Hi darlings. How's it going? Good. Happy GG 20.
Yes. Happy GG 20. Tell us about, uh, drag verse. Oh my goodness. We're having a great,
great round this year. We have been doing 18 and 19 and it always has been incredible. The community
has been very supportive. And I'm, I personally, as the leading queen right now, I feel really excited.
Um, we continue building a tool that is for drag creators to join the creator economy and have a
dedicated space, especially for a Queens that, um, you know, have been affected by, um, this,
the current social media environment, especially here in the United States. Now we take TikTok going away.
Uh, it's very important that we have tools that elevate creators that don't have the same
opportunities and we continue with our mission and vision. And when it comes to the tech, I'm
very excited. We have been working, uh, we have been implemented previous. So now it's easier to
join the drag verse app. Uh, right now it's set up to for invitations only. So, um, I'll be sharing
more information on that. Uh, but the goal is to have an app where drag creators can share live streams,
content, um, and just kind of create their digital identity and kind of portfolio. Uh, but we also
got a feedback from the community that drag verse is not only for drag creators as anybody, anybody
really that wants to be themselves online and just kind of be part of a community. Um, just kind of
support each other. Um, I think that in the drag space, there's also no place for all the artists that
make drag happen, like wig styling, costumes, nails, and often they don't get the recognition
they deserve. So I think we also want to create a space for them. So overall, we're very excited.
We're currently building with Lens, but we're looking also into be more, uh, open when it comes to
decentralized social media. So we're looking into Farcaster as well. So honestly, we're leaning in.
Um, I continue also, uh, working on the production of our next show, which is often a film that we put
together to bring drag to this space and the metaverse. So I just want to say thank you, thank you,
thank you to everybody. Mimi, thank you for your support always. Um, and this as well, oh my gosh,
we have so much fun in November this year. So thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you very much for sharing. I had to, I had to call you out of course, but, um, so moving on,
uh, we've got, uh, Manuel. That's good, Manuel. Hey guys, what's up? It's Manu. Hi. Hi. Uh, happy to be
here on stage in this GG20 hackathon alumni space. Uh, huge shout out to all my friends in here, to my
green, uh, green pill folks, uh, to my space friends, uh, always a pleasure, you know, to be up
on stage and talk a little bit about, yeah, the amazing stuff that we are doing. So I won't pitch
and chill a project of mine, uh, that is, you know, not affiliated with the hackathon alumni round,
but instead I'm gonna, uh, tell you a little bit, uh, about the design round that is live right now on
Gitcoins grand stack. So, uh, we started out, you know, one year ago after the GG15 design round on
Gitcoin, we saw an engagement drop in our community. Nobody wanted to continue this effort. So what the
previous DCI lead at Gitcoin, uh, his name is Boris did was to collect and gather, uh, committed people
to continue these ecosystem growth rounds on Gitcoin with a focus on decentralized science. So
everything related to Web3 blockchain infrastructure, smart contracts, DAOs, uh, when it comes to actually
creating, uh, impact in the academic realm. So this resulted then in the second DCI round, uh, last year,
uh, April last year, where we had, uh, 75k in matching and we supported 65, uh, projects in total.
Um, by the way, back then I was also one of the five, uh, community elected, uh, DCI stewards who reviewed
incoming grantees. And now we are in this situation that again, uh, we found five independent operators for
the DCI round on Gitcoin during GG20. Uh, we made a community vote for stewards. So the people who,
uh, right now reviewing all the incoming grantees, um, having a, you know, having a look on our
eligibility criteria. So everything that falls again under decentralized science using blockchain
infrastructure for science, uh, and also when it comes to DCI community growth is eligible for this
round. And we have, you know, a lot of like really, really, uh, amazing projects in the round. I hope
I still have enough time to highlight, uh, one or two. So, um, I'm going to kick it off. Uh, we have 15
projects in total in our current DCI, uh, round on GG20. We have, again, community growth initiatives in
Asia. Uh, we have DCI Asia. We have DCI Tokyo. Uh, we have, you know, a lot of like tool builders. Um,
when it comes, for example, to scientists, we have Poseidon Dow, Middle Reef Dow, DCI Youth, DCI Africa,
uh, DCI Journals, when it comes to decentralized academic publishing, uh, LoonCo is in there,
deep ventures in there, just in a sec. And, uh, yeah, again, a lot of like other, you know, high
profile, um, academic projects. And, you know, if you want to apply for the DCI round, I mean, please
do this right now in the best case scenario, we have rolling applications. So always open for,
you know, anyone who wants to, you know, send in their, the project application to get some money
also from the GG20 DCI round. Um, yeah. And I'm happy, you know, to be here, uh, spread the word
about all these great projects and all these, uh, different community rounds as well, uh, on
GitCon right now. And yeah, happy to, you know, be here, answer any questions and again, call to action,
apply to DCI. If you have a DCI project, please do this. So yeah, enjoy your time guys. And, uh, yeah,
again, happy to be here. Thank you very, very much. Um, amazing. So I've, I've invited, um,
I can't pronounce this. One more thing. Sorry. Sorry about that. One more thing. Uh, and I will,
I will also, I will also add, uh, the link, uh, the link to, um, the DCI round, uh, up here on the
Jumbatron so that, you know, you, you have an easier life finding the application links. Okay. That's it.
Thank you guys. Oh, you're good. Um, yes, please put it in the comments and then I'll, uh, or tweet
it out and then I'll be on the lookout for, uh, to add that up to the Jumbatron as well.
Perfect. Okay. Awesome. So, um, chat wallet, I did invite you up on stage or invited you as a speaker,
um, just in case I'll go ahead. And, um, I think, here we go. Let me go ahead and add chat wallet.
Up onto the Jumbatron. Let me see if I can invite you to speak, but in the meantime,
uh, looks like chat wallet is a multi-chain ERC 20 focused self custodial hot crypto wallet
with which you can chat. And I think that is awesome. I went ahead and added, uh,
did I add it on the Jumbatron? I thought I did. Oh, well, thank you.
Unwell for sharing that too. Um, let me go ahead and get chat wallet up on the Jumbatron up here.
Perfect. Um, yes, Mimi.
Hey, I, I just need to, I was just going to say my goodbyes. Um, I need to excuse myself. I got to get
ready to go to work. Um, on the side here, part-time outside of web three, I work at PetSmart as a pet
care specialist. So I got to get ready to get to the bus stop, go, uh, to go to work. So I, uh,
I would love to stay, but I got to hop off. Well, thank you so much for joining us. And
thank you for showing your project. Thank you for having me. Everyone have a good one.
Perfect. All right. So chat wallet, I, I put you up on the Jumbatron. Um,
anyone else? Jonas, any thoughts? Izzy, what's up?
That's it for me right now. Um, I'm excited to see how the round goes, not just, uh, the hackathon
round, but actually the, all the round that's included in GG20 as a round right now. Just, uh,
optimistic and looking forward to seeing what, how it unfolds.
Now, same. I'm, I'm definitely going to be checking out the DSI round after this. What's up, Jonas?
Jonas, did we lose you?
Can anyone hear Jonas?
No. Okay. Jonas. We've seemed to have lost you
on the mic, but I'll go ahead and, uh, we're going to go ahead and close down the space. We,
we, uh, oh, and he just logged up. Um, I'm going to go ahead and close down the space.
Uh, it was, shoot, we went, we went over time, but this was amazing. And thank you so much to everyone
who is participating in the hackathon alumni round and also just in GG20 in general.
And, uh, for those listening in the audience still, or listening in the future,
absolutely check out these projects. Uh, they are on Twitter in this thread and I believe, uh,
applications, not applications, but the, um, funding window closes on May the 7th at 1159
UTC. So, uh, be sure to get those funds in and support your projects. All right. Thank you, everybody.
Bye. Thank you. Thank you, guys.
