Let's see. Shall we start with introductions?
Wonderful. So, thanks everyone for joining. My name is Akasha. I am an artificial intelligence here at the Sweet Foundation. Welcome to Bill Beyond. Now.
We'd like to introduce themselves first.
Sure, I can take a stab at it. Thank you, Kasha, and nice to pleasure to meet you. Hopefully I can meet you in the hive mind sooner or later. My name is Hanif Knight. I'm one of the co-founders of Keepsake. It's a pleasure to be here.
today just a little short introduction on keepsake keepsake is a reimagined gaming NFT marketplace built on sweet to allow game developers brands communities projects and gamers to experience a new discovery of NFT assets and digital assets providing utility through gaming
brands and IP. It's a pleasure to be here. Wonderful. Thank you for being here with us. Notify. How about you? Thanks for the intros. Didn't know you were an AI, but that's pretty cool. My name is Paul. I'm one of the co-founders of Notify. Notify is a Web 3 communication tool. We provide
a lot of infrastructure for projects to send messages to their users and have users actually improve the user experience tremendously similar to the web 2 styles that people expect things. So we've been working with Keepsake, OB and very glad that we're here today to kind of hang out with
our friends and talk a little bit more about sweet. Wonderful. We're glad to have you as well. Now I think that leaves OriginBuy. Hey, thanks for having us. So over at OriginBuy, we are focused on the NFT standard and protocol focused on being utilized across the suite blockchain.
as well as having a big push on the gaming side, where we offer our gaming SDKs to help game studios push their games onto the Cui blockchain and encourage this whole Web 3 gaming push. Fantastic. All right. Now that our guests have been introduced, a little bit about the series.
This space is the first of a weekly recurring series that will continue through 5.26. The goal of these spaces is to bring together builders in this week ecosystem to come and share their experiences of building on sweep.
Now that MainNet has launched, we'd love to hear perspectives on why builders are building on suite and what they're looking towards in the future. Each session will be modivated by me and we'll have one participant from three ecosystem projects.
So before we get started, let's have a warm round of applause for our guests. Thank you. Thank you.
So, let's get started with just the basics, and I'll open the floor to any of you who'd like to get started with telling us a little bit about your project.
I can jump off here. Keepsake, as I mentioned, is a reimagining gaming NFT marketplace built for utility and discoverability of NFT assets and digital assets through gaming and brands. The reason why keepsake is here on sweet
is we've been building in the space since 2017 trying to find a way of disrupting the gaming industry. We were fascinated with blockchain, and Ethereum, and how using blockchain and legible systems to provide a unique sense of
ownership through digital assets was possible on blockchain. And we essentially made it our mission to one day come to a point where gamers, game developers would be able to take game currencies, take game assets and move them from one game to the next, providing
that interoperability. I've played hundreds if not thousands of games throughout my lifetime and tens of thousands of hours on games and it's always very interesting to have your experiences locked away within those games and never have that opportunity to take them out, never have that opportunity.
opportunity to truly own those assets that you work so hard to acquire. And we felt that a lot of times, you know, if you look at MMO RPGs, if you look at RPG-based games, ARPGs, anything like that, users are often huddled around auction houses, banks, marketplace
as they work to acquire assets and skins to build upon their characters. And we always felt, you know, no, this again, not a hit at any other marketplace, but we always felt that the traditional marketplace on blockchains were specifically meant for just
They were just meant for trading these assets and as we've seen some sort of come out in typically and really remove themselves from the actual experience of these digital assets to purely trading. We felt that this could be different and we felt that there's a massive opportunity where a marketplace can be truly embedded into a system or ecosystem
And offer that same experience for the user that a web to user gets, but compounding it with a web to user in aspects. So that's why we created Keepsake to really be integrated into these games and to these metaverses by providing that opportunity where that utility is truly baked into the game experience.
and Web 3 collectors are able to speculate on that asset based on its utility. So our vision is to provide an avenue through gaming SDKs, through Web 3 platforms that keep sake, to allow
Developers and gamers to have a seamless experience on Sway. Sway has been a really good experience in my eyes. Obviously there are bumps and bruises that come along the way with any new blockchain that does come out. But in terms of its long-term vision, we still stand true to where this can possibly be.
bring. And obviously we're super excited about it. So I'll pause there for the other guests and speakers, but that's a little a little bit into our Genesis story on why we created Keepsake. Phonomenon. Thank you for sharing. I'd like to kick it over to you, honey. For more, Jimmy.
Hey, so a big encompassing factor at OriginBite as we stated prior, while we do cover the NFT protocol and standard side of the ecosystem as well as through a gaming scope as well, we really try and look ourselves in three separate pillars here. The first pillar encompassing the NFT protocol and standard in which we encompass
which furloughs across the royalty enforcement as we really want to put the power in the creator's hand. Creators should be awarded for the work they do and honestly when you have such a blockchain which is as robust and flexible as Zui, you really want to put the power in the hands of the creators and that's what it's something we really push forward with our
protocol and our type free format. On the other scope, looking at another pillar of ours, we have our launch pad and marketplace as well as our liquidity layer functions which several marketplaces have adopted in order to encourage a free to use adoptive way for marketplaces across the ecosystem to
interact and have that resource available. But our last pillar, which is more so where our main focus and domain stems from, is from the gaming scope. So we're aware that many games studios actually aren't too proficient in blockchain development. As a result, we've found this little niche here in this area where
We want to help onboard them and bring them over to this blockchain experience, specifically on Sui. By doing that, we allow them to focus on their game development while we push on and allow them to have this seamless integration for gaming elements as well throughout the blockchain experience. Wonderful. Thank you, Sean.
Now, are there any other comments before we move on to our next question?
Perfect. So some of you have touched on this already, but I'd like to ask the question directly. Why did you decide to build on sweet?
I don't know why you're from you sure. I mean I think generally for us I'm just kind of going back to kind of our origin as well, but we wanted to help you know bring users into web 3 as quickly as possible with all the expectations, the results that they expect in the web pure world.
The main reason why we focused on communication tooling and notifications is our early entry point. The main reason why I think we live really well with where we was going as a perspective was trying to unlock the next billion users through either gaming and FT's.
But more on the consumer side, we thought was kind of really aligned with where our vision was as well. We think that that's like the best way to onboard next wave of users and adoption. You know, DeFi is great and it's fantastic and it's innovative to kind of where we are in traditional finance.
I think in order to get a lot of people thinking about what future blockchain will be, is really going to be open with this gaming use case that we all kind of agree with. And that's kind of where we really align with sweet foundations.
perspective is that gaming should be kind of like the the next wave of user adoption and we think that user experience is going to be kind of driving a lot of that. So that's kind of the main reason why we we want to really partner with you guys and work together towards you know just you know find that vision.
Interesting. Does anyone else have something they'd like to share about why they build on S.V.?
Yeah, and I think it sort of comes into what you're saying had notified there. It's a really unique position that we have come in at and sort of really tackling the Web 3 gaming aspect right from the get go. I know a lot of other chains and if
And he has been OGs in the space from the beginning, have seen chains develop into targeting gaming aspects. But for a blockchain to come out specifically for that, or at least as one of its verticals is unique, and it's obviously intriguing for someone like myself, and someone who's been trying to build something like this.
When we've been building in the past and I alluded to it a little bit, we have always been trying to find a way to take advantage of blockchain and actually layer it into gaming. And why I say layer it is obviously to provide an additional experience and an additional incentive for the
users as well. But we really found that a lot of the other chains, although they were great in terms of what they did, they weren't specifically designed for that. And so, you know, if you'd imagine building a house, we really had to do everything in terms of, you know, lay the foundation, you know, dig up the dirt, lay
put the electrical in or etc. where we found with suite a lot of these things were in place or you know being built in place to make it easier. So we weren't really fighting with the chain in terms of trying to mold it you know into something that it shouldn't be or it was maybe mainly more defile
I related. So when we started building, when we started researching upon what was, you know, can be presented, we felt that assets and NFTs and the ability for you to have dynamic and composable NFTs was something that was right, bread and butter with S.W.E. So we wanted to really, you know, go
alongside that and I feel like that's one of the main purposes about sort of getting us close to the gaming experience without having users break that experience is truly sues intention, whether it's having that mirrorless sort of seamless ability
for providing on-chain actions through off-chain actions. We felt that everything was sort of in line with where we wanted to do, where we wanted to be especially with keepsake. So that's one of the biggest reasons is that ability to have dynamic, composable, upgraded NFTs that are similar and akin to
you know, gaming assets that users are comfortable and have relatedness with. I see, fascinating. Now, you've all mentioned experience a number of times. It's clear that experience is very important to you. Now, let's shift gears a little
bit and talk about your experience as builders on suite. Let's kick it off with OriginBuy. Yeah, so a large portion of our team has such a large passion towards the whole gaming ecosystem as a whole. Many of our developers being focused on that side as well as on our product side, many people having several years of experience
from the whole gaming ecosystem. Now, as several of the other guests speaking today brought up, gaming is a huge vertical brought forward through Sui, and it is something we truly believe is going to be resulting in the massive option. But in order to truly understand why and how this can be done, we have to have this experience and knowledge of
What makes people want to play games? What would we have to do to allow them to play these games in a seamless fashion? And I think one of those areas is understanding points of friction, right? In the past, some blockchain-based games would have various points of friction such as having to install things like a browser wallet or
having to have gas as transaction fees. So many of these little areas are areas of friction which some of the experience would glance over and it's a huge impedence to people looking to play and adopt into the gaming ecosystem. But given experience within working in the field and understanding that, developers are able to create
solutions that we have such as back-end wallets or from another partner who's actually not on board right now in the guest speakers, like Shinami with great gasses transactions, allows for a much more seamless integration within the gaming ecosystem and allowing for that massive option, reducing those points of friction and making sure that impedance isn't present.
I see much I think about. Would anyone like to carry this discussion further?
Yeah, I think if in terms of echoing what Organ by the saying it's definitely points of friction are massive and you actually don't realize you know coming into the blockchain space the amount of points of friction you meet because you're comfortable with
with navigating the blockchain from getting tokens, from getting onto an exchange, from downloading your wallets, from putting tokens into your wallet, from making a transaction, as somebody who's comfortable with the blockchain, these are just everyday transactions. But if you actually look at the steps that it took on typical EVM-based chains,
You can count upwards to 17 to 20 steps depending on what you want it to do before you make an actual transaction on chain with the app you want it to use. So the points of friction are massive and I do echo that with the origin bite as well. In terms of some of the experiences that we've come across on Sway,
Obviously, I would have to be transparent in terms of their arbombs in Brazil to start, but that is to be expected. And I do feel that where we are in terms of where we're positioning right now, it's smoothening out very quickly. And we're being able to actually see, and some of the, I don't think anyone is in the past.
But some of the projects coming up are starting to use dynamic NFTs and start to showcase that as well. So we are seeing some of the new use cases sort of shine. It is everything as a learning experience. And I think for a wide variety of the community as well, it's going to be a learning experience because
things are truly on-chain. Very simply at a marketplace level, typical things where you'd make an API based call to a front end, which then reads into the blockchain. Those are all on-chain now. So it's kind of cool to see these specific on-chains actions
happen without bogging down the blockchain or bogging down any systems. So that's a little bit into our experiences thus far. And let me just add on to that too. I think kind of to address this question, the previous question to tie it together. There's a very high competitive advantage in a clarity
of being purpose built for particularly these cases. I think a lot of blockchains out there have general purpose use cases. So they're trying to, you know, spend their time to enable various different sectors of the businesses that are out there between like DeFi, you know,
like gaming and a tees etc. But I think it's nice to have something that's purpose built from the ground up to say hey not only is the technology kind of being suited to you know hyper accelerate the gaming use cases but also from the like the sweet foundation side of the
system going to a lot of the web 2 games out there, bringing a lot of the support structure to really build that ecosystem further. That level of commitment I think is kind of making it a little bit distinguishable and makes our lives of course a lot easier so we can focus on getting the
tech out and enabling these cases to be performant. And I think that's kind of not always there for a lot of the other ecosystems because there's so many things to be worked on. It's great to have a focus or some sort of clarity again towards an angle that I think we wanted to try to proliferate in the consumer side.
Thank you very much. This is all quite intriguing and it sounds like conversation is naturally headed towards my next question. What makes building on suite different than other blockchains? Notify. Let's kick it back to you. I think that's kind of what I mentioned before my last kind of answer is
The reason why it's different is that I think for the ecosystem you see a lot of builders that are prescriptive that are working towards very, very specific use cases. And I think everyone's on the same page of trying to unlock the next wave of user adoption by even making the U.I.
UX cleaner, simpler, and really just focusing on Web 2 onboarding. I think that's kind of the main reason why we see a lot of differentiation there, and it makes it a lot easier for everyone's part because having these conversations, it feels like we're building with like-minded individuals.
Right. And I think in our past, when we had conversations with other projects and other chains, user experience was always like the secondary or third priority. It seems like for people building on suite, like that's the primary concern, right? Like we're here to make it better. So yeah.
Thank you. I value our perspective. Now, keep saying anything you'd like to add.
I guess the one point I'd like to add there outside of echoing what you're saying and notify is I'd feel that sweet and team members and labs and sweet foundation is taking a bit of a risk here, right? As you sort of talked about when block trends come out they
typically like to generalize because they can capture a wide audience and because they can capture a wide network of users and community and they don't have to stay centered to one specific ideal of value. And I do think that specifically targeting Web 3 gaming and obviously adding a
But if played properly and correctly can be a very specific value add that a lot of communities and a lot of projects and a lot of brands and IPs will flood towards because it's a lot of things that are going to be
centered around the idea or center around the proposition that they're trying to achieve. So I do feel that it's for us, especially, and I do know tons in terms of developers and brands and IPs that want to get into this space and specifically want to target something on the Web3 aspect or something at least gamified.
providing that user experience or a gamification at the very least. I feel that Suisse sitting in a great spot to drive that because it's specifically centered around this gaming vertical, and I'm truly excited to it. So outside of echoing anything you've said, that's really what I wanted to add on that piece there.
Thank you very much, Origin by anything to add.
It allows for such flexibility and puts a lot of control in the creator's hands as well, which is something that's so amazing to see. And even outside of just the direct gaming perspective, even gamemafide elements such as composability and dynamic NFTs, we've seen so many projects early on, we're only about two weeks into mainnet, and we've already seen
We want to explore these elements of composability. We want to explore dynamic NFTs. And seeing that so early on is such an exciting sentiment to see. Because it shows that people are here for the tech. They're here to see what Sui unlocks and what elements of creators are here for the tech.
they're able to see. And I think that's such an exciting thing. I would agree. Now, we have been hinting at our next question. What features about S.V. do you think are particularly interesting? This is open to any of you to get started with.
I'll take a jump in there. For us, we really like the specific features that pertain to the NFTs and digital assets. Again, I truly feel that within gaming, there's a lot centered around your asset. If you look at a typical Web2 gamer that is playing any base game that is focusing on the
character or building a character. It's really all about that character. From weapon builds, from character builds, from skins, from visualization or actual utility of that character, everything from the ground up is built on dynamic, upgrading.
breaking down compositions, different things that push this experience and push the user to actually build on top of. And I do think that for us and ourselves, the ability for digital assets to mimic those things that our users are accustomed to on Web2, but mimic them in a way on Web3.
is really, really, really cool. That's the part that we're super excited on. And we have obviously been working at things to showcase that in the next couple of weeks, and to showcase some of these smaller value ads. But providing that experience, not breaking the experience for the user, where they're taken out of the
Web2 game and you don't remind it that oh this is a blockchain game this is a blockchain game you got to wait for transactions things like that. That's what we're super excited on is that true discoverability and utility of those assets is far is deeply embedded providing that web to flow but combined
with that Web 3 experience. So, you know, again, I've already sort of echoed it, composable NFTs, upgradable NFTs, dynamic NFTs, things that you do with skins, things that you do within the gaming vertical are all centered around sort of for us digital assets. And that's what we're really, really looking forward to.
Indeed. Now, I know Hisham has a hard stop in two minutes, so let's kick it over to Origin Bite. Yeah, I think keepsake absolutely hit the nail on the head there. When we're looking at Sui, we wanted to look at this overall how the objects interact due to Sui move, and the fact that these objects can interact in such
seamless fashion really allows for these almost web to like integrations from let's just look at a gaming perspective here whether it be like putting skins on a gun or skins on a character within a game these are so seamless due to composability rules and it's not like you have to jump through hoops and ladders which obviously at going back to something we said a
in the past from friction, that's a huge barrier for players. We want them to have a really seamless experience. We don't want them to know. It's a whole web 3 blockchain experience. We just want them to know this is gaming. This is a layer added to the onion of gaming and this is supported and done through what a Sui can enable. And I think that's something
that's really special about this. It's not trying to make it everything be aware like, oh, this is a blockchain game. We're making a very apparent that this is another layer added to the gaming experience. And that's something that's so unique about Suvi from that front. - Indeed. Now,
I know you need to leave us soon. So I want to thank you for joining us. Do you have any last comments before you take off? I want to thank you guys so much for having us. It's been a pleasure speaking with all of these amazing guests who he's spoken to across this time. These first couple weeks going across and working and building our new
ecosystem as keepsake is set in the past. There's always going to be bumps and hurdles but the most important thing is that it's constant perseverance. It's constant pushing forward and it's always trying to find out what we can do next to support the ecosystem and push forward and I couldn't be more proud to be part of this.
phenomenal. Now, I've just been informed. I made a mistake. It seems as though, as Sean is able to stay a little longer, but how do you feel, Silly? Is that true? Yeah, I should be able to stay a little bit longer. It's actually not his own presence speaking. This is Marcus from OriginBite.
I got a real probably the most interesting AMA have been part of in a very long time. It is such a unique experience.
That is the intended effect. So then, honey, any last comments before we let you go? Yeah, no, it's been a blast. I really appreciate everything that Sweet Foundation has done for the builders in this space. It's really, really cool.
for, you know, foundation like that to actually be reaching out and actually be pushing these builders and actually be trying to drive and grow the area through the builders. That's one thing I am seeing is, you know, when we first got exposed to Sweet, it came from a very development focus mindset and saying, hey, this is a really cool idea.
opportunity to do everything that we try to do on a building standpoint and actually make these things possible and our sort of main missions and visions come true. And so I am super bullish in terms of where we can go from here. We're at the days, we're super early on in the days, early, early days, and I can't wait to see sort of the games that are
coming on board. I look forward to anyone listening or anybody who is on the panel to continue our collaborations. We're working pretty much with everybody on the panel here deeply and closely. And so I can't wait to see sort of what we drum up in the future. And for anybody who else is interested, we are live on main@keepsake.g. Again, we
We are looking for that centered collaboration, anything within gaming, anything within brands and metaverses, anything like that. And even if you just wanted to chat about how we look at the community or how you look at the community as well, or different ideas, we're always down for it. Again, it's been a pleasure to be on the stage with all the other speakers
as well. And I truly thank yourself and Akasha, nice to meet you. Really cool that you're in AX experience as well. We're seeing all that sort of blow up as well. So it's really, really cool. Give me a small. Thank you for joining us. It's been great to have you. So.
We're going to jump into a quick intermission. I prepared some music for us. Oops. Wrong one.
And we're back. Hopefully you took that opportunity to take a bio break or grab a drink. Now, let's see. What's next?
on our list of questions. Ah, here it is. I think we've covered this a little bit already, but I'll go ahead and ask anyway. What features about Sweeney, do you think are particularly interesting? Let's start with you, notify. Yeah, I think we talked about most of the features that we talked about like storage.
I don't know if they're ready to rehash this question again. Maybe go to the next one. All right. So then next question, does your project implement some of these unique features? For us, not so much. We are kind of like middleware, so we work with providing
smart contract monitoring, and of course notifications as a service to all of the projects that are implementing some of these features. So I think projects like Keepsake and OB are probably one of the better ones that are actually implementing the feature set.
Let's take it over to OriginDite. Yeah, so I'd love to delve into this. I think a large portion of our protocol and standards from an NFT perspective as well as our gaming SDKs are really built on top of Siri and through that it enables so many of the uses of these unique
factors associated with sui, whether it be through these composability rules, dynamic capabilities, or the freedom of NFT types, the way that sui move as a whole allows objects to interact with each other really allows for this, and such a seamless fashion. And it really puts the power in the creative sands. I think I've said this before, but when we're looking at a blockchain,
and we're looking at such creativity in a gaming and game-of-flight element. We really want the creators to have the freedom and the ability to work with what they can. And since they're able to really do whatever they can think of, it enables such a cool and unique atmosphere with so many of these cool projects we're already seeing in these coming weeks and at the
perspective from how NFTs can evolve, how they can compose with several traits and elements. It's such a unique experience and overall it's something that we really are proud of been able to build on top of through the Suvi perspective. Amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Okay, let me look through our lesson questions. It seems as though we have a few more. If you have time.
So, let's see. What has your experience been like since going live on May 9th? Tell us all your stories.
Maybe I could jump in here first. Yeah, but since we went mainline, mainnet, our service has been great. We've been seeing a lot of users, you know, activate in terms of like just general interest. I think one of our first customers that we were live with was Sweeney and us.
So we're helping them to power a lot of their communications announcements, you know, more intricate contract notifications as well. But so far it's been really good. It looks like there's a positive response to the community and people are just really interested in discovering what the ecosystem has to offer.
Indeed, Origin by. How about you? Yeah, so it's definitely been a really unique start since Maynet has launched. From a baseline, just in terms of like speed and transactions from Sui itself, it's been seamless. It has been a perfect experience
and I've been hearing that sentiment shared across Twitter and through other social media as well. But in terms of us in our perspective from what we're doing and what we're covering in the first couple weeks, there's a little bit hectic taking everything off the ground and working with all these several marketplace partners trying to get everything on
up. There was a couple of hiccups, a couple road bumps, but that's bound to happen, right? Whenever you're working with new technology, you bounce out of those experiences. And the important thing is, we rebounded, we get everything sorted, and make sure everything is handled going forward. And it was a really like learning
and building experience during these first couple weeks, which we definitely expected that to be the case. But honestly, that's part of the fun of it. Solving the problems and making sure things are smooth going forward to empower the ecosystem, it's all part of the game.
That's right. I couldn't agree more.
Now, I've just been told it's probably time for us to wrap up, so with that said, are there any closing remarks?
From our side, I think we're just really excited to see what the next couple of months look like in terms of growth. New projects are still coming out week over week and very excited to see what the ecosystem develops into. And kind of the general excitement for the gaming as a personal interest in mind as a
you know, as a gamer and, you know, just looking to see what cool titles are coming out and try to understand, like, you know, how we can, like, bring this information to the masses during this time is something that, you know, I always dwell on. So, very excited to see what it looks like in the next couple months.
That's right. Arjun, bye. How about you? Any last words? To piggyback a little bit off on note if I said, honestly, we couldn't be more excited about some of these gaming titles launching in the next couple weeks to month. It's going to be such an exciting time for you to really see the capabilities that Suey can empower through Web 3 Gaming.
and we could not be more excited to not just see the games in action but also get our hands on there and spending those non-stop hours playing but overall can't wait to see what these creators really can imagine and working with them side by side it's going to be an amazing experience and we're all here for the ride. That's right.
Now, for those of you in the audience, just as a reminder, this is the first weekly series of building beyond building on sweet. So let's see.
I want to thank you all for being here and particularly thank our speakers.
But that said, it's been great having you all, and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
