I'ma show you how, come on, oh, let's together now
That's how we gotta be, so stop tryna be
That is me, cause you can do that
Think about the pain and rush, who let
We didn't order that at night, but
We asked against the line, they laughed, pullin' first
Pauline, never step in a rep in a run
I got a weapon that's wild
We stood the brothers on, fight, cause I'm
Droppin' up a trimble, emblin' in like a chameleon
But by tonight, oh my god, I'm so high
Scam, so good, so good, let the boy be one
Scam, so good, so good, let the boy be one
I'm the nitty nitty nitty, smash it, never blow gas
Sicky flip, lap, I'm the rappy, raps, smash it
That oppa-bop, oppa-bop, the U.S.G.
That's not the ghetto vibe, make me flip like
Jekyll and Hyde, of course
I'll come across with the pure, for sure
Un-adulterated, uncomfortable, disgusting
Nothing, you wanna touch it, too hot, you forgot
You're not ready, your head could get ruptured
Hit me between the eyes, I plan to hand a lot
I'm so monotonic, who would you find out?
The villain's crooked eye, lighter than the fighter
See the big black picture, and you lookin' tighter
My mind is graphic, expressive, graphic
Kill a copycat, action, it's all massive
Directed it, when y'all re-expected it
That's what it was, say, ah, this hit you in the face
GM, GM, everybody, we have two more minutes of intro
Hop into the comments, say hi, say GM, and also check
Amazing art that Beast posted there, it's amazing
And guys, don't forget to retweet the space
Because that's how we're gonna pick the Allo List winners
Uh, oh, give up, ready, set, let's go
Dance floor, bro, I know you know
I feel psycho, and my new joint is
Just can't sit, gotta get jiggy with it
That's it, now honey, honey, come ride
G-K-M-Y, all up in my eye
You gotta ride a bag with a lotta
Stuff in it, give it to your friend, let's spin it
Hey, by looking at me, glancing a kid
Wish your name was dancing a jig
Here with this handsome kid
Sick of cigar, right from cubic bar
Just bite it, it's for the look
I don't like it, they'll wake the hammy
On the heat, they will play
Keep it up, jiggy, make it feel like home
Like, yo, my cardio is infinite
Ha-ha, Big Willie style's all in it
What, you want a ball with your kid
Watch your step, you might fall
Mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama
In the middle of the club, we do up and up
Uh, no lie, I'm for the haters
The haters, man, kiss the cop, cool seats
Got the Lakers, see me on the 50-yard line
With the Raiders, man, I'll leave
You told me I'm the greatest
I got the fever, for the flavor of a crowd
From the prince of the shore, highness
Only bad chicks, riding my whip
South to the west, to the east
To the north, bump my hips and watch them go off
And go off and catch that shawl
In the winter, or the summertime
I'll mix it high, get in jiggy with it
Let's go everybody, so hyped, great for a show
GM, GM guys, I hope you are having an amazing Thursday
We have a really hyped episode today
You know Rice Farmer, he's behind the Ohio Labs account here
But he has such a legendary A with a beautiful pink fur
and aquamarine background
Probably the best combo in the collection, right?
So, yeah, we'll have to fight a little bit with Biz here on the stage with his orange background
But I absolutely love that ape, and he's also OG, so definitely can't wait
Let's start it off by saying hi to Biz Santino, my co-host today
How are you guys doing today?
Yo, good morning to everyone
I'm doing well, man, super pumped
I mean, it's been a good day
You know, I didn't drink coffee and any caffeine for 31 days, like all January
And this morning, I finally had my shot of espresso again
And man, it kicked me, so like, I'm fucking hyped
I'm also hyped, of course, for Ohio
Also to hear the story of Rice Farmer
So, super happy to be here, man
Amazing, let's go, what about you, Dino?
GM, I'm also excited, I also had my four coffees today
I'm not doing anything without coffee because I love coffee
And I love coffee chocolate, obviously
And I'm doing really good, I'm actually preparing
I'm going tomorrow for the biggest toy fair in the world, in Germany
So I'm preparing some stuff and my business cards and stuff like that
So I'm super excited and super excited about today's episode
Let's do this, guys, also, hyped, can't wait
And yes, I mentioned we love hosting this episode to support people from the community, right?
And yeah, can't wait to learn more, so
Rice Farmer, Ohio Labs, welcome into the Grateful Show, 242
GM, how are you doing today?
Hello, thank you so much for having me up here
I was thinking about the last time I was on spaces
I think it was maybe like two and a half, three years ago
So I might be a little rusty, but glad to be back in the game
That's awesome, love to hear that
Like two and a half, three years ago, that's OG times
You know, there was a different landscape in Web 3
Guys, I also want to say that Rice Farmer is in Asia
So there's like midnight right now, right?
So we are aiming for a 60-minute episode
So if you want to be part of that Allo List giveaway, retweet the space and beast
Before we wrap it up, we'll pick the five winners
So just we all know the rules
And yeah, thank you so much for joining
I was thinking, and we haven't interacted that much since today
Which is kind of weird, because you are really OG
I saw that you bought your ape in summer 2021
So before we hop into what you're cooking and into the oil labs
Could you tell us a little bit, how did you end up in Web 3?
It's kind of like the classic origin story, you know
Growing up in high school, I had a friend who was mining Bitcoin
And I just got really interested in it
And I learned about the Silk Road and how Bitcoin
Everyone thought it was kind of like an untraceable money
Which is obviously false now
But it's funny that we used to think that
And yeah, so I had some Bitcoin back then
I thought, hey, this is either the next big thing
Or this is going to be worthless
So that was like in 2016, I got introduced to Bitcoin
So yeah, and then eventually Ethereum came out
And I started focusing on that a bit
And throughout my whole life, I've been like a collector of things
So like trading cards, baseball cards, Pokemon cards
So when NFTs came out, it was kind of like the perfect intersection
Of my interest of crypto technology and collectibles
So NFTs came very easily to me
In terms of knowing that these would have value
And yeah, I kind of just joined Twitter, joined Discord
Joined communities, met some people
It's been a long bull market, a long bear market
But things are looking up now
And I mean, crypto will never die
Yeah, and it's really funny that I was the same
Bitcoin and crypto is so great because you can track it
Which is kind of, I don't know why everyone thought that
Because it's so easy to check the blockchain
And see where all the transactions are going
Tino, I don't know, I saw you unmuted
So you want to add anything, man?
I didn't unmute, so it's fine
I don't want to add this amazing story
I have one more question about NFT's rice farmer
And that's about how did you actually pick the ape
Pink fur, aquamarine background, the best combo
100% in the BAYC collection
So why did you pick those?
Yeah, I mean, I see your ape too
I know we're in some similar group chats
But I think really for the apes, the pink on turquoise
When you see it lined up with a bunch of other apes
It's the most colorful kind of combination
So that instantly popped out to me
And I wanted just like a clean one
You know, mine has five traits
Just a normal kind of looking ape
That I'm proud to wrap it as a profile picture
But things might change soon when Ohio launches
You also mentioned that you haven't done spaces for some time
Have you actually gone to some IRL events
Like ape fest or anything like that?
Yeah, well, I've been in a few spaces
But like in the bull market, you know, I was definitely in spaces
But obviously during the bear
I just found a lot of them to be redundant
I've turned into your space a couple of times
And they've always been great
But yeah, I'm a big I like that IRL events
I think that's like a huge activation with NFTs
And something I'm pretty bullish on
I've been to the past two ape fests
The one in Hong Kong I was just at
I've been to a couple, you know, broader theater events
And then I live in Chicago
We have like an NFT gallery there
So I go to kind of like the small community events there
Yeah, that's amazing, man
The gallery's IRL and everything
I have to give him a shout out
This is actually Atari's song
So he has to listen to that all the time
Peace. I say you're muted
I remember you from Twitter actually
Really? From that like 2021
And, man, I was wondering
Was it the board apes when you decided to go deeper on NFTs
Or were there some top shots also
Similar to what we did here?
Or, you know, how did you actually go deeper with NFTs
Yeah, I started with Top Shot definitely
That's kind of like the first big project I saw
You know, got a couple packs
But I didn't go too deep in the Top Shot
I was actually really interested in Z-Run
Which is like the horse racing game
And mainly because I saw like real utility with the horses
You know, because they're racing against each other
But obviously like I think the team kind of dropped the ball there
I know they had a bunch of scandals
And I'm not sure how the project is doing these days
But luckily I stumbled on the board of Yacht Club
It's been a very fun experience
And, yeah, it's great to be a part of the Yacht Club, I think
And I can't believe that we now talk about like three years ago
Yeah, you know, it feels shorter just because
You know, like not that much has happened in the past couple years
I mean, I've met so many great people
And I've had a lot of great memories
Both, you know, in real life and on Twitter
Yeah, time flies so quickly in web 3
I remember first Ape Fest when Beast flew there
And we already had the third one and fourth one on the way
And I would love to get into the collection that you've been working on for some time
And my first question would be like
When did you decide actually that you want to create your own NFT collection
And was it your first or you minted something before that?
Yeah, well, I got into kind of programming a couple years ago
So I just thought that was like a very useful skill to learn
And, you know, it was the bear market
So I had a lot of extra time to
Instead of larping on Twitter and trading coins that would only go down
You know, I think I took a bit of a more productive route
So back in the day, I actually used to trade kind of like characters on
So I would there was like a big forum on Flickr is what we used to use
And we would trade characters with each other
And those were like the first like profile pictures that I kind of made
And back then it was all like through mail
So it was like before it's like prehistoric NFTs pretty much
So I've always kind of had like an artistic creative side to me
And then but I've never been like a great drawer, you know
Like I've got like kind of a shaky hand
Like nothing that would be good, I think
But when AI kind of started getting some traction with chat GPT
I started looking at some AI tools
And I was really impressed with the outputs that I saw from AI generators and AI algorithms
So I kind of just stumbled into that
And I kind of realized, you know, I have
I have, you know, a great community on Twitter
I've got programming skills for the smart contract
I got, you know, a creative side, a keen eye for art
And I always kind of wanted to launch something on in crypto
But I really wanted to do it like the right way
Because, you know, we've seen so many scammers and grifters come and go
So that's kind of where I am with Ohio
Which is kind of like, you know, a passion project
But something that I've put a lot of time thought into
And I hope everyone likes it
Yeah, you mentioned that you actually can code, right?
That you created some website
I also check on your profile that you are behind Forgotten Apes and OpenSea Refund
It's just really, really dope
Could you tell us a bit more about the process behind the art and beast
If you could pin the collection so we can see the
Or pin the tweet that you post into the comments so people can see the art
Because, you know, I've been playing with a mid-journey and with other tools
But I never created anything close to this
So how the process works, actually, when you work on the AI art
And how many tools you have to use and which ones
I'm really curious in this
Yeah, it's been like a pretty long process
You can look on the website like ohiolabs.xyz
So you can see kind of the first generations that I published
And you can see how far we've gone from there
And really it's kind of just keeping up with current trends in AI
Because I feel like, you know, every month or so there's like
There are new AI tools, tweaks to certain AI tools
And it's very hard to keep on top of all of it
But I feel pretty confident in kind of the outputs I've generated now
And a lot of it is just trial and error
Seeing what works, seeing what I like
And then, you know, making small adjustments over and over again
Until I get something that I think looks really good
And training the model with the really good outputs
To create, you know, even better outputs
So it's kind of, you know, this is something I could do forever, honestly
And I've limited to just 600 for now
Just because it takes so long to even get one, like, you know, acceptable to me looking output
But yeah, yeah, it's not easy, I'll say
Like people think generating good AI art is like, you know, you click a few buttons, type a few words in
A lot of these AI tools are, in algorithm, are quite sophisticated
And, you know, reading white papers on certain AI tools
Did, like, know how to tweak the smallest things
It's very tedious, but definitely worth it
Because, you know, in my opinion, I think the sneak peeks I've shared look really good
And I hope people agree and will use them as profile pictures
Yeah, it looks definitely dope, man
And I really started paying more attention to, like, community art
Like Popunk, right? Like his rubber
I don't know if I can say it, you know, if it's proper English here
Because I know it's another
But it's amazing, the art is amazing
Also, the collection is doing great
And when I saw your art, I was like, wow, that's really, really awesome to see that
And also see the progress
Because I see the first one from June 23
And you can basically see the evolution till today
So that's also really interesting
And I read that you actually started with 10K, right?
And you narrow it down to 600
That's the end size of the collection is like the first Genesis, man
Or how are you thinking about that?
Yeah, so I mean, I've generated like over, you know, over 10,000
But obviously some of them don't look great
So I only picked 600 that I think look the best
And, you know, right now I'm really just focused on launching Ohio Labs
I have no plans for a future collection
Not saying it's not possible
But, you know, right now my focus is solely on, you know, doing the best I can with Ohio Labs
And then from there, you know, I can kind of decide what to do next
Yeah, that makes sense, man
And do you also think about like 3D avatars from these PFPs and from this art?
Because we see there there are a lot of games popping up right now
There are many apes in faraway store
3D apes right in a nifty island and there's gonna be other side
Do you also think about like the gaming aspect of the art?
In terms of like 3D art, I think it makes sense for like metaverse and gaming things
Where you're actually like controlling it within a platform
And it's cool to see like 2D art become 3D, I think
And some people have done it really well
I know there's like a couple
I've seen like a couple people in the timeline kind of, you know, take apes and turn them into 3D already
And they look pretty cool
But I feel like the one thing about 3D art is there's kind of like that stigma where like
There are like a hundred rugs and those all like 3D fiber art from Instagram back in the day
So I think there's like a bit of a stigma there. I think it's mostly gone now
But yeah, that was just kind of like a funny period of time where like every 3D project rung
Yeah, back in the day like all those 3D apes on my Instagram, it was crazy, you know
And I think it's still like it still makes sense to be careful with
Especially on Instagram with all those ads because they are coming back guys
And everyone is aiming to scam you
So be really careful with that, get a wallet guard or anything like that
And stay safe because yeah, there are hacks happening all the time
And it's always so sad to see, you know, drain wallets and stuff like that
I also read on your side that you're not going with OpenSea or Manifold
You're going with your own smart contract
Why did you decide for this way?
Yeah, so, you know, some of these platforms are a little limiting on what you can do
So, you know, I did look into them, but a lot of them will want to, you know, take a percentage of your sales
Or you can only watch on their platform
And there's certain limitations like, oh, you can only have these many traits
You can only have these many outputs before you have to pay for it
And for smart contract development, it can be as simple or as difficult as you want it to be
It's just kind of like something I learned while going through Solidity
You know, a standard mint contract is not too difficult to create
But obviously adding, you know, adding white lists isn't that difficult
But you want to do really complicated things
Like I was just looking at the, I know this was on Bitcoin
But like the Quantum Catsman I know has been delayed a couple of times
And I think that's probably because they have this novel auction feature with refunds
Which we've seen a couple of times
And obviously it's on Bitcoin, so there's not going to be a big standard for that
So when you try to complicate smart contracts like that, I think you can run into problems
And for me, I just like, you know, I've always been someone who likes to do everything
And understand everything that I'm doing
So like if I know I'm creating a smart contract, I can be 100% certain that it's going to work as expected
Because I built it, I know the logic behind everything
Yeah, and then one more thing I want to say is a lot of people like want to optimize for gas
When doing like smart contracts, like, you know, they want to spend the least amount of gas as possible
But I think it's a bit of a trade-off because like for Ohio Labs specifically, to deploy the contract
It's going to be like a bit more gas because I have so many different checks in place
And so many different fallbacks
So like in case, you know, there's an X, in case, on the small chance that like one of these functions may be exploitable
There's, you know, a safety feature in there that, you know, costs a little extra gas
But I put it in there just to be on the safe side
So it's kind of like an art in itself
That's kind of like what I've learned with programming
You know, you have to make certain trade-offs, you have to make certain optimizations
But at the end of the day, I just feel comfortable knowing that, you know, I built this from the ground up
I know exactly how it works, you know, if something goes wrong, I know how to fix it
So just that peace of mind is something that I like to have
Do you have something else that's really special for your contract
Or something that you want to use in the future that, you know, will make your collection to stand out a little bit
Or some use cases that you want to do with your art?
Yeah, so kind of on the earlier point, at least for like a Genesis collection, I don't want to overcomplicate it
I have like built like certain features that are like a bit novel
And I've removed a couple things that I thought were cool
But I wasn't like 100% certain that it would work a certain way
Because a lot of these things, again, like they're traded on OpenSea and Blur
So like you have to kind of, you're kind of limited in what you can do in a contract
If you want it to like display correctly on OpenSea and display correctly on Blur to transfer correctly
So there are certain limitations
And it's also like an ERC721 standard
So like there are certain things you have to do and certain things that the contract has to have
So yeah, at least for like my Genesis collection, I want it to be simple
I want it to work, I want it to be straightforward
I don't want to overcomplicate it too much
But yeah, I mean, just like building my contract, there's so many like really novel features that I know are possible
And that are like really cool to do
But I just don't think the space right now is kind of like ready for like that sort of customization
Again, when you have, you know, Blur and OpenSea with so much market share that your collection has to
It has to act a certain way in order to display correctly on those sites
Yeah, and there are like transient labs
They also have like very interesting ways
We hosted Michelle here, she's an amazing photographer
And I think she added actually messages, like on-chain messages to her pieces
So whoever buys it on secondary, he can read
Or she can read the message from the previous owner and stuff like that
So I really enjoy, you know, this some kind of gamification
I also see Baron in the audience, I know he's working also on AI art and on his collection
So I absolutely love to see, you know, that OG members from the community that build their communities and friendships and connections in the space
They are bringing some stuff on-chain because it's amazing, right?
Like I don't have any background in the programming, but for me, when you bring something on the blockchain, when you mean something, it means a lot
So really, really amazing job, guys, and really, really proud of you
How did you come up with the name? I read that in Japanese it means good morning
So is that a GM culture there?
Yeah, definitely a bit of a GM culture there
Well, obviously, like this is like an anime project, so a lot of Japanese influence
Yeah, in Ohio, you know, if you watch anime, like, I've heard it in every single anime I've ever watched, like, one of the characters say Ohio
So it's like a common phrase to kind of go with the crypto culture, GM
And initially, when I was posting, like, sneak peeks every day, it was kind of like a GM, like, I would post it every morning
So yeah, it kind of just felt like the perfect name, you know, simple name, easy to understand
Yeah, and I think it just kind of works
Why did you go for anime? Like, is that something that you love, like, for a long time?
Or did you see the opportunity that maybe there could be more cool anime PFPs, or, you know, what was the reason?
Yeah, well, definitely Azuki kind of is like the standard for anime PFP projects
So when they released, I thought that they did, like, a really good job with their collection
And I feel like, I feel like Japanese influence is taking like a really, is like a really big part of culture, you know, worldwide these days
You know, five, ten years ago, if you watched anime, you're like a weird kid, but now it's like pretty normal, like everyone watches anime
And I think that just, if you look at like anime characters, they're like very unique and like a little bit wacky
You know, they have like all different hairstyles, all different hair colors, different outfits
It's kind of like in between like a human PFP and like a crazy like animal
It's like colorful enough and unique enough that it stands out
But it's not like a boring, you know, regular human
Like I always think of like, if you played Wii, like the Miis, like you, and like if you think of like character customization
At least for me, like I always like to kind of create like a bit of a wacky character
And I think anime is kind of like the best balance between like normal and, you know, colorful and disruptive and wacky
Yeah, I agree. And it's a huge community
I mean, there is tens of millions of anime fans all over the world
And when I was thinking about it, it's, they're also like similar to us in a way that there are like kind of like chronically online, right
And they like this digital stuff. So maybe this could be actually like a good people or good targets to onboard them to Web3 also
Yeah, yeah, I'm hoping. I definitely had already just a lot of Asian influence for the project
And I'm an Asian right now too. So yeah, it gives you like a lot of different perspectives and ideas
And I've met some crypto people out here in Bangkok and it's been fun talking to them
How is the Web3 scene in Bangkok and Thailand in general? I have no idea to be honest
Yeah, there's definitely a scene here
I'm not like too involved just because I'm working on Ohio most days
But I've met a couple people who live in Bangkok that I met on Twitter
And yeah, there's definitely like a good amount of people here and like they always like talk about like these whales
And it's definitely like a thing with the Asian whales out here
I'm not sure where exactly they hang out or what they do, but
They're prominent for sure
Yeah, yeah 100% man, I was in Bangkok like I don't know five years ago, it was absolutely wild experience. So
I didn't have a wallet back in the day. I didn't have much crypto. So it's good, but
That there was a chance that I would lose everything so
Yeah, I stopped drinking after that quit trip actually. So it's been five years after that
it's like that movie, but yeah, I'm still looking at your art man and
You said that you really really narrow it down
Like how did you pick the ones that that you like the most what were the aspects how you thought about it how?
You know, it's 600 pieces. So it's not like a huge collection
So how how did you think about it to put everything together that there are like multiple art, you know
With different backgrounds and I see male female at cetera. So so how did you think about it?
Yeah, it's kind of a tough question to answer but it's just kind of like, you know
My creative mind and like my thought process like it's no it's not like a one
It's not like I do like this every single output every single day. I do this to narrow it down. It's kind of like
Oh, like what am I thinking about in this moment? Like what would look cool? Like what kind of themes? Can I try?
And I usually have like an anime show playing in the background too
So that like gives me some ideas just from watching anime and like I can if I see like a cool-looking character
I can like try to recreate it a little bit and see if it works with the collective
But yeah, I've you know, I've narrowed it down a ton like, you know
I've made like 10 final drafts are and just constantly
And I it's a little annoying cuz like in the back of my mind
I'm like, oh like I remember this one output like it's not quite as good as their others
It's good, but it's not quite as good as the other so eventually I want to I want to remove it
It's a love-cut hate kind of thing, but I'm pretty confident that
I've kind of curated a really good collection
Man, I'm really curious like which one will people like eventually
Because for example when I'm thinking about the elementals, right?
Like seems like people like the animals the most right and they then they kind of became a rare
Where you thinking or about the numbers also like is something more rare than others?
Is there let's say less animals than the boy and the girl or you know, like how did you think about this?
Yeah, yeah, that's a good question
Like traits like very simple and very easy
to kind of like narrow down what's rare and what's not so I
Kind of think about it like trading cards. So like
When you open a pack of cards, there's like basic cards and like there's like holographic cards and then like legendary cards
Like gold cards or something like that gold foil cards
So I kind of brought that to a aisle
There's like the human characters, which is like the majority of the collection and within the humans. They're like holographic
And gold's the rarest and then holographic and then normal
So it's like a pretty simple scheme right there
And then if you don't get a human then you have, you know
one of the animals and I shared a couple sneak peeks of them like the kitsune
The crane and those are I mean you can just tell that those are like a bit more special because they're not humans
But overall I I think I took a lot of care into
Making the distribution and the rarity like really easy and really simple to understand because like the one thing I didn't like about
The 80 traits that they have like oh like left hand like
Like it's just like way too many in my opinion
Um, like when you think of azuki rarity you think of like elementals and then like regular
um, and I think that's like
It's simple and it's what it should be at least in my mind is like what I think about when i'm creating ohio laps
and then like with the elementals, I think they did like a better job there where there's like
where they still have like the
Like the spirits kind of thing
With like the cool backgrounds and then they have like the animals and then like the kids so they can tell those are rare
they kind of nailed it with elementals, but still like
You know, I don't need you don't need like a trait for
Or like right wrist. Um, that's just I think that's just like a bit overkill
That's that's so true. Anyways, I just want to refresh the space and remind you guys
Retweet the space because uh rice farmer is actually giving away
Five allow lists spots for the collection that we're talking about and uh rice farmer
I wouldn't ask so like when when when when you know, like what's the what's the timing?
What are the details if you can say any we can also play the alpha about alpha sound if it helps
You know, you have the magic alpha sound here on the show man
I was I was about to ask about a creative process about you know behind the art and you know
I kind of intentionally was like building in silence like building in the dark
So like I started like you said like in june. I want to say
Um of last year and I did no marketing for aisle labs up until this past month
And that's basically because like if I started marketing back then I didn't want to I didn't want people to wait like six
Months for this project to come out
So I just started marketing at the beginning of the month. Um beginning of january pretty much
And uh, I did that intentionally because like I only started marketing when I had
600 great outputs the smart contract was ready
And now like I just really need to do the whitelist
So that's kind of what i've been focusing on um making small adjustments to the arc, but also working on the whitelist
I'm confidently saying that it ohio labs will release in february this. Yeah, I think that it's february
It's february 2nd in uh asia here
So this month it'll come out. Um pretty much as soon as the whitelist is finalized
Because like I said, like everything's ready and I intentionally made it that way. So like you didn't have to wait a while. So
Yeah, once the whitelist is finalized. Um, you know, I add that to the contract and we should be good to go
How would you like to do the reveal is that do you plan to do it like instantly or you know
Like will people have some time to little wait and play with it maybe bet a little bit, you know
How it works in this space?
Yeah, yeah, definitely. Um, I do plan on revealing as soon as
Yeah, I know. I'm not like a huge fan of like really long reveals
You know and I and for this project specifically
It was just uh, you know simpler and easier to make reveal happen
Uh once like all the entities have been minted and are in the hands of collectors
So I mean obviously there's going to be like a brief whitelist period
Or there's going to be a whitelist period
And then once that's done anyone who hasn't minted from the whitelist, uh, there will be like a public sale
So once and so once the public sale is over, um, you know, i'll kind of switch on the reveal
And yeah, you'll be able to see yours
Nice so it's gonna be fast like I think one of the reasons is also that like
People or projects want to have that little bit of trading window, right?
So they keep it for a few weeks sometimes so that things happens
All also what I saw like talking about this I saw that it's gonna be zero percent royalties
Is that correct? And if so, like what's the what's the reason for that?
Yeah, that's a that's a good point. Something I forgot to mention
that's also kind of part of the reason why like i'm not trying to drag out the reveal process because
uh, how that will be zero percent royalties and a couple reasons one is
You know, I was kind of never like a big fan of royalties
I didn't think it made a lot of sense
Because like it incentivizes your holders to to sell your project
In order for you to make money which is kind of like an inverse relationship like that shouldn't
That shouldn't be how it is
um, and also like royalties are just
It's it's it's very easy to uh
Not pay royalties you can do like otc trades. You can use blur
uh, they're not enforceable on the smart contract level on ethereum
Uh, this is purely like an art pfp project. So like
I don't have a team. Um, I don't need funds to like necessarily like build anything
I want this to be like an open project that you can trade
You know, you don't owe me anything. Um, you know you you can support me by minting the art
And that's all I would ask for i'm not asking you know
Make money on this in perpetuity. Um, I think that's a bit too much to ask for
Once it's allowed like if it's allowed, uh, I think so, right
Like do you think that like maybe like now you're like one person you want to keep it as an art?
Would you think about it?
Maybe you actually like hire a few people do something else with that or you you would like to keep it this way
And just keep it as an art
Yeah, so i'm intentionally just not promising anything because I think
uh, that's where a lot of people get into a lot of trouble where we see projects say oh we're gonna make a game or
Uh, we're gonna be in a movie or we're gonna make a tv show and they can't fall through on that
Um, and like i'm just being honest like I don't have like movie connections
I don't have game development experience. Like it's just not something I can promise
Uh, so what I can promise is like is really great art
Yeah, that's pretty much it
Um, and that doesn't mean you know
I won't do anything else in the future
Uh, yeah, and if you look at my track record, you know, i'm someone who's been into welfare for a while
I built like a bunch of different things. Um, so
Uh, but i'm just being honest like I don't you know, I don't know what the future holds for me. Um
Uh after this, um, so, you know if you if you want to buy
If you want to buy Ohio Labs understand that you're just buying it for the arts
And anything else that comes with it is is uh extra but don't but don't expect anything
I definitely love this approach like artists do utility
I I still looking at it, you know, because I know uh few people a few of my friends there
You know, they they've been playing with the air they've been writing like custom
I don't even know how it works like you write some custom code to create something
Uh, so I think it's awesome to you know to have to have the timestamp on the blockchain that hey, I created this
People bought it. They like it. They use it in I don't know
Do you actually grant the the ip for those pieces so people can use it in in in different products and different?
Yeah, that's kind of like a gray area with ai
jurisdiction will say oh like
If you create something from ai you have full
You know, you have exclusive rights to what you created
And some people will say the opposite like oh no you're using
Other artists influence to create this so you don't actually own it
So that's kind of like where we are in terms of ai where it's still like so new that there's no
What I will say is like you're free to you know, in my mind you're free to use
Your eye allows uh pfp in any way you want. Um, and that's totally fine by me
There's kind of like this looming
AI legality jurisdiction thing that no one's really clear about
So I guess we'll kind of just have to see what's and you know, what what people think and what ends up happening there
Yeah, that's that's really interesting, uh, I didn't also know about it
So, uh, it's good to keep in mind when you play with ai
But you can sell it, right?
Yeah, yeah, definitely. I mean like ai art is kind of like already a thing
And if you look at like I know like claire severs probably like the most prominent ai artist
I know she just had like a drop the other day
Um that sold out it was I don't know
I think it was like 800 pieces when he but obviously she's like the biggest ai artist out there
So she's kind of like setting the standard I think in terms of like bridging web 30 nfts and ai together
Man after playing for for such a long time with ai
Could could you give us some recommendations how to actually start if you want to create some art and and if you could elaborate a bit?
How was the process behind behind the behind your art?
Because you know in the past I went to my journey. I I type some prompts like pink monkey in the forest eating banana, etc
Right. It gave me some some crazy stuff there
But how it actually looked like when you creating your art and crafting these pfps that you know
That are looking really great. I loved it
Yeah, I mean I think a lot of it is just like personal preference like for me like something that really bothered me was like
Characters and that took like a month to solve like how do I like get the shadow looking the right way?
And like I said earlier a lot of it is just like reading like white papers for different ai tools and like really understanding
Different things you can use you can you can do to manipulate the image
You know whether it's like, you know, you can do like things like making certain words
Have more weight. So like they it's more likely to appear things like that
and then also kind of like making the
making the ai like more abstract like if you wanted to like
You want it to make like one apple or do you want it to make?
like multiple apples and like
You know there's certain parameters you can kind of manipulate to your way
But a lot of it is uh trial and error
Because again, like this is also news like not a lot of people have like a ton of information on it
Like you can go in discord, which is like what I did
You know ask around and see if anyone knew how to do certain things
Um, but yeah, it's kind of like, you know
You have to kind of have a vision in your mind be like, oh like here's what I want to look like
How do I slowly get to that?
You know, i'll add this keyword. I'll add I remove this keyword
I'll add more image weighting here. Um, yeah, I mean it's a it's a tedious process. Um
I'd say it's worth it in the end
So is the process like that you have the idea and you're like using that ai
Until you get the result that looks to the idea that you're happy with that you start with the idea first
Rather than trying to create something and see what the ai creates right and then decide
Um, yeah, I think most of the time I will kind of go in with an idea of what I want to make
um, and like I talked about this a little bit before like I I considered like
Working with other artists, but they none of them could kind of create like exactly what I had in mind
And like not at like the right
Pace either like with ai it's like, uh, especially now it's like a lot faster to like get instant
They're nearly instant kind of feedback on your prompts and things like that
um, yeah, sometimes I would you know write some things and
Uh, you know add certain parameters and then like it would create something that I wasn't a before
But looked pretty cool. So I would kind of like go off of that image and like add that
Uh to like the data side and and train the ai on that and see what I could come up with
So that's definitely happened a couple times
Where like it kind of surprised me and and gave me like a really cool output and I kind of built off of that
I mean the reason why i'm asking about the design process because there is that ongoing discussion, right?
Whether there's going to be more creativity with ai or less creativity with ai
And like listening to you and like watching other
Artists like claire that we mentioned before I really believe there's going to be more creativity that I i'm a believer of technology
So I think there can be like way more unlocked than you know, lost like through this new
New tech. So yeah, it's it's fascinating, man
Yeah, I tend to agree. I mean I I obviously if you're in crypto you're probably like a technology optimist so
Um, it's kind of just like common at least for me
It's like common sense to like try out new technology and new tools and see
Um and kind of like the optimistic and like what it can create
And for example, like I use ai
For coding too, and it's it's super helpful there
You know in terms of like uh creating basic structures that I need
And even for the smart contract if there's like something
That I didn't quite understand fully I could kind of like use a
AI to kind of explain it to me in simple terms or like give me code recommendations on what I can add or
What I can add to a smart contract to make it, you know, either safer faster
Or just add uh novel utilities. So
Yeah, I mean I think if if you want to unlock your full potential you're going to use
Yeah, i'm still i'm still looking at
Those pfps man, and i'm wondering
Are there are are they're all unique or are there really some traits that you repeat because for me it seems that
Each of those is really unique art
And if yes, how does it work with it with a
With ai you just like you create the I don't know the traits and and say like put it together and generate like
10,000 of them or I can imagine how how does it actually work?
In each image is is unique in terms of like it's not going to look anything like anything else really
well, obviously like uh, there's like a you know, they're all going to be facing left and like
You know their face is going to cover the majority of the picture but in terms of like
You know what they're wearing like the hair color like the hairstyle
Um, it's all going to be pretty pretty different
And a lot of it is just like
You know finding the initial theme I wanted I would call it
So like if you look at some of them, there's like, you know a farmer theme or like a prince theme
To create something that looks slightly like it but not quite and then just like adding that to the data set
um into like the training to the training module and like building more images off of
Uh, you know the ones that I already like until I get you know, kind of more unique
Yeah, that's kind of like the process there
This skill, uh is so important already and it will be even more important in the future
uh outer space starting in one hour and seven minutes after uh
After our show, uh or after now, right and they're going to be talking about a user generated content
And I think ai is such a great tool
For the future meta verses, you know for the future
Also avatars because you know, you need to fill those words with uh with people, right?
So probably ai and pcs will be uh will be the way
so definitely want to learn more and learn more how to create because I play back in the day with a mid-journey and
um, I would say it wasn't impressive what I created so
I'm really curious to learn more and also
Curious to see more what baron is cooking because I know he's also cooking something there. So
It's exciting to see that man and it's exciting that you actually can create. Uh, like collection that looks really great
It's the art is uh, I really like this style. It's amazing. So yeah, we are living in a crazy time
It's 100 percent and it's consistent man. Like that's what impress
Impresses me because when I try to make one piece with ai
Like it always gives me, you know, when I go deeper, it gives me other characters other options
But all of these they seem like pretty pretty consistent
Yeah, I appreciate that and that was definitely like a big thing like starting out like how do I make
Each one look like they're part of the same collection. Um
Yeah, that took a lot of trial and error and just like, you know, like I said, I really like feeding the
Datasets with similar images to create, you know images that were
Similar but unique to what I already had so it looked like yeah cohesive collection
but that's definitely like one of the toughest things I
Uh, you know, I had to do well while creating the art
Nice so i'm gonna be slowly warming up the twitter picker
So guys like I see a lot of repos
But still if someone of you like haven't reposted
Feel free to hit that button so that you can join and have a chance to win
We got five white lists, right five is the number
Uh, yeah. Yeah, we're giving away five white lists today
Retweet a space we post the space and I will warm it up. Yeah. I think this is the last reminder guys
So retweeted beast will warm up his twitter picker. And I also saw that you did a
Did a collab with gorilla laps. Could you tell us a bit more about what is it about?
Uh, yeah, not it's not uh, nothing too much
He just uh, he made like a really nice video about the project. So I reached out and um, you know
We kind of came up with like an agreement where I gave some whitelands to his community
So i've been collaborating with like a couple communities that i'm either in or have like support to be in the past
Um things like that. And yeah, it's really cool. He kind of made like his own
Um, like ohio labs pfp based on his community, which is like this gorilla character like this gorilla samurai
And I think he did like a pretty good job and i'm actually like curious like how he made it that
That well because yeah, I think it could definitely be a part of the collection
Yeah, I think it's it's so awesome that uh, like uh, you know community members
Like we have a few of them or many of them here in the in the audience
Like if you come up with your own collection, uh, people can actually display it these days, right?
Like you can go to nifty island and you can display it on your house there
So you can see it quite often you can see it like you have it in your house, right?
Like you can display it in spatial. Uh, you can actually create some items from it for for upcoming games also
So that's absolutely game changer for me. Uh, can't wait to to learn more and hear opinions from other space today
One hour and three minutes. So yeah, it's it's gotta be epic
Can't wait for the for the future because we are moving so quickly forward. It's absolutely unbelievable. So
uh one one of my last questions guys because I know
There's almost 1 a.m. In in uh in thailand
What excites you the most these days about crypto and ai and and you know, uh world in general, man?
Oh, man, that's a really good question. Um, what am I super excited for?
Uh, you know, I think I think we're kind of like at the beginning of the next uh bull run
I mean the bitcoin happening is coming up and I think that's like always a big indicator
um, and I think for me it's kind of just like
Kind of just like embracing the change that's going to come so
You know when the last record happening came like no one predicted entities
Um, you know, you just couldn't predict what was going to happen that year and like board apes and crypto pugs
and like all the rug pulls and like celebrities getting into uh, uh crypto and
Uh in terms of like unpredictability like there's going to be that same unpredictability
Um in this next cycle, I think so like i'm i'm very cautious to make any predictions or like
Anything like that. So i'm more so just like here for the ride. Like i'm i'm really excited just to see like the new
The new builders that come and build new things and and i'm excited to try out. Um
Different uh technologies that come along too. And you know, I think the best thing you can do is just like have an open mind
Yeah, that that definitely helps you kind of like spot trends early and and be early or be early to things and
Yeah, yeah, just kind of you know, enjoy the journey. Um enjoying
And excited to try out new protocols
Yeah, that's definitely the way right to experience to meet new people to have fun and
To keep looking forward because as you mentioned, you know, there there are nba top shots
There are z run and stuff like that
But uh, I also believe there there's gonna be new things that will lead maybe this cycle
So really curious what it's gonna be. I know there's a lot of farming right now
Uh staking and cetera on on also different chains that that just eat, right?
Uh, maybe beast. I don't know if you're ready. I would do it as uh,
If you pick five people just put them into the command and pin them up. Uh, so
There is you know, everything's clear. Also guys be very careful as always with all the giveaways and allow lists, etc
There's gonna be a lot of scammers around so
Beast will dm you after the show he will first tweet your handle and then he will dm you so double check
That it's real beast that you have mutuals
Uh, that's all good because it's happening all the time
Just be be really careful because this space is crazy and you probably know that so
Uh be double careful. Yeah, why did you actually uh rice farmer pick the the eath? Uh, not soul or any other
Chains that are getting popular these days
Yeah, yeah, that's a good question. Um, I mean I think
Immutability like ethereum it's kind of unchallenged that where you know, it's going to be up forever
Um, you know the ethereum network works and it's kind of
Where nfts were born so I thought like for a genesis for a genesis collection
It just made a lot of sense to to launch and eat which is where like 90 of my time
And nfts has been spent. So yeah, it was just an obvious choice for me
Yeah, yeah, it makes sense guys
I don't know what's happening with solana, but I was trying to buy a few of your 3d a palatars on faraway store
And i'm constantly getting some errors that it doesn't work. So
I can't even spend my soul these days
Uh, but it's so awesome, you know, it's so awesome to be able to buy other aids from the store and play as
3d character. It's it's amazing. So yeah
Beast how you doing with your five winners?
I'm ready. I'm so ready. I have one more question actually before we pick the winners
Uh, I know like we talked about that whitelist
How can people join it like is it can they still go on the website and join or what's the what's the process?
Uh, yeah, good question. The whitelist is like almost full by now
Um, so there's gonna be like a couple more giveaways. So I would just be on the lookout on the ohio labs, uh account
There'll be a couple more but after that
Yeah, like I said, this is like a pretty small collection
Um, and you know, we're already getting a lot of eyes on it way more than I would have imagined
Uh, but you know, hopefully there'll be you know, another chance in the future
All right, so there is still the chance there is still gonna be giveaways and stuff
And i'm ready i'm ready. Are you guys ready? Give me one minute. I want to say hi to baron
He he just got here on stage barrel. What's good, man? And then uh, dan announced that bro. Amazing
I was gonna say gim jesus christ gm. Good morning. Um, i'm not awake apparently yet
No, dude, I just want to come up and say about the faraway avatars
So I think that jupiter airdrop claimed clogged the system yesterday or whatever because I had the same issue
Uh, we hit up the team and they were like, yeah, it's just clogged. So, uh, it works
You just got to kind of like be patient and do it two or three times
Yeah, I I was thinking that's the case so
Yeah, it is uh, it is better in this way, but it's also more expensive if you want to buy
game items right with the gas fee, so
It's it's for provenance. It's awesome. But we saw the rubbers right there on soul and and people were so excited about it
So I love experimenting with other chains
Uh, yeah, this this sometimes happened on sauna
I think there were worse days for sauna back in the day, right? It crashed for some time also
Wild yeah, and baron can wait can wait for other space because you have amazing topic today
Yeah, it's gonna be also hyped. So
We also have uh, alex and grace from the faraway team joining us again to talk a little bit more and serum city
Popped off today. I just claimed mine. I saw it's not grateful claimed his so
You know now I got to figure out I have all my shit on hardwares with no warm wallet connected to nothing
So i'm like, how do I get those now?
Yeah, same here i'm gonna be working on that tomorrow morning, but same here man
Let's spit it. Let's announce the winners
Let's do it. So i'm gonna read the winners then i'm gonna
Tweet the winners in the into the comment and i'm gonna DM you guys like who win
So just make sure it's me because once again, you know, sometimes this base is wild and this time just send the text
Okay, no feet picks and stuff like that. Okay, it was the bonus part. No, but okay deal
So i'm ready. We'll find you man
I've read it. You don't have a song for that man. I thought we were having a song for that
I always ask for the song when we announcing the winners. I mean it's a it's a big moment, you know
You can just say it. I have a song but I can't play it right now because then
It will be taken down by the podcast platform. So I can play only what I have
I can play only the song grateful
I have some songs here in in my uh in my roadcaster so I can play some random stuff and we'll see what is it
Okay. Okay. Let's do it. Let's do it. Okay. Not this nice. All right. Okay. Not this all right
Is oh, okay, then I have to change the tone
So let's fucking go congrats guys
Let's fucking go so I hope that some of you is gonna be happy today
And when the mint is open and yeah, congrats congrats to all
It was so dope to learn more about the process and how you think about the art and how you create
Uh, I definitely want to start learning more about it and spend some time
So yeah, I know it's super light for you
So rice armor if you want to add anything or share anything before we wrap it up
Yeah, thanks, uh, yeah, I just want to say thanks for having me up here
It's it's nice to you know be up on spaces again after after a long hiatus
Um, uh, yeah really great questions. I'm glad
Uh, we were able to kind of talk about the project and you know about crypto technology in general
So I think a really great discussion
Um, yeah, keep up the great shows and I really appreciate you having me. Thanks a lot guys
I absolutely love that man. Thank you so much
And I know asia is so difficult for for time zones, uh when we were in in hong kong
It was tough with spaces and everything. So thank you so so much that you join us that late for you
Uh, I know, uh, some people from hong kong they were like, oh we going to bed like 5 a.m
So it's wild. It's wild. So big shout out. Thank you so much. Good luck with the collection
Uh, can't wait can't wait for the mint and yeah, uh, you know bees. Do you want to add anything guys?
Yeah, bro, it was it was a pleasure to have you on the show
Amazing our interesting conversation as you said and good night to you. Good night. Good morning to the american friends and uh
Yeah, thank you rice farmer for joining us
It was absolute pleasure to have you today and to finally meet you over the space after all these years
and yeah, good luck with ohio like congrats everyone who's on the
the white list and who will
And yes, thank you for thank you everyone for joining us today and let's fucking go. It was absolute
Yeah, I really enjoyed thank you so much guys
Thank you baron for joining us here. Enjoy other space guys
It's starting in 53 minutes and i'm talking about it because other space is our one and only sponsor
They paying us zero eat and zero soul every week
So yeah, very consistently they started with zero and they keep going every every space
They help us to push it up to zero
Yeah, thank you. They're just using different chains, but still zero
Damn, yeah, so that we have some motivation baron. That's a good idea. Can't wait for that
We probably fly business for the next eight months, man
Yeah, but if it's a euro, we we can go by train and save some money probably but yeah guys. Thank you so much
For listening today. Uh, it was we we haven't talked about ai are dead much. So i'm i'm really happy that we had a
Possibility to actually have rice farmer here and talk about it. So have a great thursday join other space
Thank you so much rice farmer for joining us today
Check his profile check profile of ohio lab so we can learn more and this was great for show
And you know bear mentioned serum city so I have to play for like 20 seconds
This epic song by redhead. Have a great thursday guys. So good. Have a great thursday
Let's go so much exciting stuff is happening in the space it's crazy we got we got serum city
I i've been playing mini royale for some time, you know, i'm probably a clan leader of other space right now. Yeah
In a few days. I probably become also a co-host of the space because you know, that's what uh,
But yeah, so many great games, uh, so much fun in the space
Damn, we are so bad guys nft part is around the corner. So if you're going hit me up
Organizing and having an event together with a mutant cartel guys board kitchen and other people, you know in the family
So it's gonna be up so banger and i'm really really hyped for that. So yeah
Big love. Enjoy the other space that starts in 50 minutes
And yeah, I mean have a great thursday. See you soon. Much love
Let's go and good luck, you know, uh pick some cool toys because damn we're gonna create
Yeah, we're gonna create some crazy stuff
Let's go guys have a great thursday the chocolate the chocolate is so addictive
I had to finish it like immediately. So thanks for that gift. You know, actually i'm so boasting this one, bro
Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate it
Now we have to finish we are not used to to wrap it up that early right and by the way, it was like with rice farmer
Man, it's like 1 a.m. Um, it's not healthy
But uh, anyway, uh, yeah, i've been known space is always like late because you know, that's what we do
We are the genesis live. Yeah, that's a decent life
But yeah congrats to all the winners guys have fun and we're gonna announce our next spaces soon because we are also cooking some other
Uh exciting stuff for you
So yeah, it's it's gonna be epic and hopefully to see some of you in paris because I know showbiz is going
I know payman is going so it's gonna be it's gonna be crazy there, you know, you know the mutant cartel event
It's gonna be wild guys. I'll do my best to make it memorable for you
But that's where when it ends today to scream like that goat, man
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but it's very hard to
She's back but payman requested so I just say hi to payman guys and then we wrap it it wrap it up
Payman how you doing, man?
I'm doing great. It's good to be I got a chance to come in and catch the tail end of the show
Always have to come in and support. So yeah, it's good to hear you guys the energies as always amazing in this room
Yeah, i'm excited about uh paris, man
haven't got my tickets yet, but
But I will like in the next 24 48 hours
Yeah, I got some really cool stuff cooking too for paris besides excitement for meeting you and in your events
With the mutant cartel, which sounds dope
Look forward to giving you both and whoever else is going to be there
Hopefully tino is going to be there with a box of chocolate for me
Because uh, i'll send you chocolate, but I won't be there. Oh, no
Shit, you know you just ruined my day
I was really excited to see you
Whenever we have peter fang here, we talk about mamba mentality and um when tino said i'm not going I was like soft
That was very soft and in fact like it made my hard day super star so
Dino is very known for you know, like changing his plans last minute
He did it a few times before with nftnyc and other stuff. So I think we're still good by man
I think there is still a chance. Oh, yeah, I think london. I want to take it like a day before the event
So there is there is still a possibility even though not a big one, but uh, let's see. Let's see
