What is happening folks? Another amazing day at another amazing AMA can't wait to talk with the people from flux. It should be an awesome conversation. Lots of really cool things to talk about as they are doing lots of really cool things. So can't wait to talk to them, learn more about them.
So just give us a few minutes to get everything all set up and make sure everyone gets up here to talk and we'll be starting very shortly. Make sure to share out the space to get some more people in here. It would be very much appreciated. So just give us a minute or two and we'll get things all set up here.
While we're waiting for everyone to get settled in and people to find their way, make sure you guys, oh there we go, we got TSN up here. Welcome buddy.
Hey, how's it going? I'm good. Good. It's Friday. Yeah, I know that best day of the week. It is. Well, have a day. It's a good day. But I wish you a Friday. Hey, well, we'll give her a few minutes for Daniel to find his way in here too. I'm sure he's probably just finishing up something.
So I think it'll be a couple more minutes here. Yeah, I'll just let people filter and I think Dan might try and get on that a little bit later in the AMA, but I'm good to cover until then. No problem. So we'll just give it a few minutes here, let people roll on in and then we'll get things started.
That's good.
While we're waiting for people to roll on in, make sure you guys go check out cadenaecosystem.com. It is your website for everything cadena related. We have all the different projects that are building on or have built on the top of the cadena blockchain. As well as a calendar of all of our upcoming AMAs, we have some really good conversations coming up in the next
next few weeks.
It's KadenaEcosystem.com. Also make sure you go check out co-wallowwallet.io. It is your passport to the Kadena ecosystem. It is available for both Android and iOS devices with a browser extension coming very soon. It has full NFT support.
Wallet Connect, all the different tokens has built-in in-app swaps from Katie Swaps and lots of really cool things. So make sure you guys go check that out. And if you like the Wallet, please leave a positive review on your App Store. It would be very much appreciated. That's kovalawallet.io.
Also, we got a new blockchain explorer on the block for cadena that is kdaxplorer.com. It is a much more simplified, a little bit flashier explorer out there. It has full NFT support.
We just added light mode and an NFT lightbox. If you're looking through NFTs, you can click on an NFT and it pops up a nice little pop-up box. It looks really good. You can scroll through all the different NFTs and stuff using that.
the NFTs that are in your wallet as well as just look at the collections from throughout the ecosystem and we have lots of other cool features coming like micro information all types of really cool stuff so if you there's anything that you'd like to see
Add to the Explorer. There's a feedback section at the bottom of the website. Just click that easy link. Let us know what you'd like to see added to the Explorer or things you'd like to see changed because we would love to hear your feedback. Once again, that's KDAXplorer.com.
Also make sure you go check out our swag store. We got some really cool swag from Koala Wallet and Kadina and some new stuff in the works right now. That is swag.koala wallet.io. We got hoodies, t-shirts, stickers, hats, all types of really
cool stuff. So make sure you guys go and check that out, get yourself all dripping in our sweet cadena koala swag. You'll be the coolest person on the block and you'll feel good. It's nice good quality materials and you'll really enjoy it. That's swag dot koala wallet dot IO.
Now do not worry if you missed the AMA Live. We do record all of our AMAs so they'll be live here on Twitter for up to 30 days and we also upload them to both our YouTube and SoundCloud accounts. So make sure you guys click on our profile here, go to our link tree, subscribe to our YouTube, follow us on SoundCloud.
to not miss out on any of these amazing AMAs as well as going back and listening to the over 100 previous AMAs we have done with amazing projects from around the Cadena ecosystem. So we might as well get things started. We've got a good group of people here. I'm sure more people will come
on in. So welcome everybody to another AMA with Kedina ecosystem. Today we have joining with us the good folks over at Flux. They are building some really cool tools and we're here to learn more about them. I think this is the first time we've actually spoken with the team from Flux. So I'm very interested to learn
a lot more. So, TSN, why don't you go ahead, take it over, give yourself a little introduction, and then just let us know what flux is all about. Yeah, so my name is Richard, Richard Loughdale, so I'm Flux Labs Manager, go buy TSN crypto, so you can follow me.
There you can also follow Flux Run and Flux and you can also join our incubator program, run and Flux Flux. I've been following Flux for quite some time, so recently I've sort of
one step for everyone, join the team, came on board, part with sort of a lot of this stuff, a lot of the incubator stuff, helping with a lot of the projects. So I suppose that's where I've sort of leapt in and connected in together.
That's awesome. Yeah, that's a good little quick little intro about yourself and everything. Now for people who don't know what flux is, can we maybe just kind of quickly just go over what flux is, how it operates, and we'll go a little bit more into detail after that. Yeah, sure. So if you think about fluxes,
of the compute or AWS of the internet. So we offer those compute services as part of our layer 2. Then we've got the flux token and the parallel sets, which is sort of the driving force and the utility token that pushes the ecosystem and the applications and development
people want to launch on the flux infrastructure, saying there's AWS and that one to deploy a drop-flirt and image. You might want to host a website. You can do that all via flux. That sort of drives into it. You pay with flux or even if in the future when you want to pay with Fiat, that all drives out into
the flux utility attack which is a proof of work type and a mindable type. Awesome. So for people who are unaware of what that is, a lot of people know what AWS is, which is Amazon Web Services. A lot of people are kind of familiar with that because as
As we found out when AOS goes down, a lot of the internet goes down along with it, which is very scary and shows just how centralized those systems can be. Can you maybe go over the benefits of using a system like flux versus using something like
AWS besides the obvious of centralization versus yeah, there's a lot of fun enough in my day job. I've just been on the AWS and urgent workshop because we use AWS and now I've sort of seen that direct compare between them and flux first
from the guy from AWS, the flux. Think about fluxes. Fluxes, and node infrastructure, which is hosted by people at home. So you might have a PC, a Raspberry Pi, you might have an old laptop, or you might have, sort of, enterprise get gear service.
You can host flux and it so you can host it on cloud services but we put people to host at home. So it does decentralize the network but the compare between it is completely different with AWS. You're paying for compute. I think
from what I'm gathering by the second almost for using compute resources and it's very, very expensive. So the first thing will be price, which will lead to adoption. But the other things are it's redundancy as well. So because we are a decentralized network,
We don't just give you one instance, you end up with maybe three or four instances, which is low balance between different locations across the world. So that gives us this sort of follow. If one location goes down, it'll just go somewhere else.
But then you've got the two redundant instances that I'll flip over to depending on the setup of the application and how you want to use them. Yeah, I feel like the instance thing is rather important when it comes to flux and its infrastructure because you know with AWS
If it goes down, that's it. It goes down. Your websites go down. Everything goes down along with it. But having flux with the multiple instances, if one goes down, then other ones just step in its place and continue along the way. So it's really definitely a night and day between the two sets.
for sure. Yeah, and we're trying to make it easily deployable as well. So I think that's part of the unborded as well as the processes making that use rinse face good and easy to drop in. So that's some of the major achievements that we got going on at the moment. Now speaking of onboarding
>> I'm going to be just using flux. Can we discuss the different node operations that you can do and how people can get involved with running nodes and the things that are involved with that? >> There are two different ways you can get involved with running nodes.
across to run on foot cloud. There's a full sort of guide and instructions. I've got guides and instructions on my website. But you do have to stake some flux. Basically what it's like, we're going to maybe go on to later. It's like mining flux.
