i can hear you can you hear me we're good yeah no i can you're you're um i just saw you were off
mute and there was no little lines moving next to your co-host so i thought you might have been
talking and i was getting no audio but we're good i think i don't want to jinx us but yeah it's becoming
a not the norm start to the show where things just just work yeah no i uh um this is this is odd i'm
not sure what to do when we don't spend the first five to seven minutes trying to figure out audio and
then potentially having other issues but but no it's uh it's a good uh good day to have a good day
back to what i feel like is the real world uh you know yesterday we had a show i had my mom over and
just you know did like a you know some family stuff and it was a beautiful day uh outside here
um obviously reflected as we talked about on you know the reason for the holiday and um now it's uh
it's back to reality meetings all day for the next few days and uh kicking off into our week starbucks
as mentioned yesterday like there's uh you know an airdrop teaser we had with some information coming
on that uh we have you know teased out a new starbucks journey which starts pretty soon here
so doing some stuff in the discord around that so exciting week to kind of get things kicked off
and um yeah and then i heard some rumblings of a of an airdrop for holders can you confirm deny
what's the uh what's the there is yeah so it's um it's the information there's there's an email as
well as um an announcement in the discord if people are in there um basically we have not
announced who the uh airdrop artist is but if you own at least one limited edition stamp so siren or
first door collection and completed at least two journeys um early june so in the next few weeks i
would assume that that means i'm not on that side of things there will be an airdrop coming um of uh
uh we again a stamp but we haven't revealed the artist um and yeah i mean there was and the other
thing we did that was cool and again i this is where i want to get into the thinking of like what
we're doing with our nfts and what we're doing with these like you know sort of clubs we're in
um so to speak you know starbucks odyssey is obviously you know what what what joe and and
morgan and adam and team are building is is a really cool sort of product alongside starbucks
with uh the idea of like this experiential loyalty program and that that in of itself doesn't
you know you can experience it without the discord the discord helps bring it up a notch
but one of the cool things that we did was last week this is i found this cool as a coffee nerd
we had their coffee tasting uh a coffee tasting experience with the education and experience
manager at starbucks so basically this guy flies around the world knows how to taste coffee
and he was like giving us instructions on how to taste coffee like a pro it was very cool in the
discord so it's like i'll never taste coffee the same so you know how when you taste wine or something
with like a sommelier you're like oh yeah i can taste the orange peel or whatever those things are
um he taught us how to do that but with coffee uh but also made it very approachable he's like if
you just taste coffee it's okay to just taste coffee coffee's awesome but he was uh he was really
great so um so that was nice and and uh you know those sorts of things are kind of what i'm here
for with my nft brands like i looked at you know artifact and i don't need new luggage so i'm probably
not going to do it i don't need artifact all over my luggage um although it would you know it would
obviously stand out but artifact is is doing a you know uh with clonex people there's a forging event
with luggage and i don't know the more i look at this the more i'm looking at like what nfts are
actually doing for their holders and why i'm actually buying and i had this thought over the
weekend and then i'll kind of end my rant because this is where i'm going with it is
you know we're looking at things like floor prices constantly and it's always based on hype
and speculation it feels like for a couple of years and i'm wondering if we're going to see
things like moonbirds and doodles and apes and everything else find their level at a point where
people decide okay that's what i'm willing to pay for to do that you know there's obviously other
nft use cases there's gaming which is going to be huge and all these other things that come into it
um but i think with like some of these pfp projects we're gonna we're starting to see people
shake out and we're starting to see where people are saying you know what i think i want art community
and irl so i'll go moonbirds i think i want you know the experiences doodles is bringing to the
table so i want doodles and i want to do this online experience i think i want the ape experience
through the gaming ecosystem they're putting together i think i want the clothes and i'm going
through artifact like i think now we're starting to see those um so i don't know it's just it's
you know if you're interested in ordinals on chain monkey is going to be for you like
i think we're starting to finally see those things shake out cap and i don't know where
floor prices settle at that point you know
yeah i'm with you i think the one thing that i'm 100 percent certain of is something that carries
zero utility uh for for supporters users etc is sending money to other influencers to
uh purchase new iphones um i don't know if you saw that one but that's like i don't i just
like let me let me rephrase myself individuals forget influencers or not individuals that hold
multiple five and six figure digital assets i i do not believe should be panhandling for donations
and i i will uh that's probably not what any of them and actually that wasn't why the illusion to
spicy cap was even sent out last night or this morning but that's probably what i'm most spiciest
about this morning is what did i miss i didn't miss can you can you level set what this is i
actually am not i like i i have people so for the record before you go i have people in my dms
yesterday even someone who tweeted me like what do you have to say now and i was like oh man what
my guess is kevin rose did something and i was correct but what was the other thing um that and
that was exactly what happened and i'll then a high level hit on that i don't want to spend a ton
of time on it because it's i'm exhausted i also vow i vowed not to speak of of the k row individual
or or burbs or uh the uh one that rhymes with roof um i it's it's a it's a it's a ruthless tuesdays
here so i won't speak of it i did say if kara wants to join us he's more than welcome um there was a
i don't know two or three hour ama with thread guy yesterday that i think exhausted about everything
you could discuss on the topic including um directly from k row so yeah i was vowing not to
go there today but if anyone else wants to discuss it you can and i'll just i'll just zip my lips um
but the what i was referring to steve was uh borovic sent out a tweet that he was uh needed a new iphone
and was going to order a new iphone 14 once once you reach 1500 so his phone doesn't crash during
spaces uh send me eth uh you get nothing in return this is a donation and um i don't know if anyone
sent back but as i understand it raised something like seven eth uh something like fourteen thousand
dollars bought his new iphone 14 pro and again if you're struggling if you're each throne there's
nothing against asking for help and support uh you get you get hacked and you want to help get
getting you know get your asset back like that's fine to each their own i do not think people that
are holding five and six figure digital assets should be panhandling others i just i don't know
as a principle i disagree with that uh pretty strongly um some would say it's a hustle you know if you're
familiar with like the rapping bum and in uh at the ohio state university guy is on the way that guy
i forgot about him that's right a legend right uh you know uh an icon around campus and and would
leave his panhandling you know street to go home to his you know quarter million dollar home in the
suburbs um so i know this isn't like new i just i don't know man there's a lot that i feel outsiders
look at us and just shake their head and and uh this this was one that has me shaking my head yeah
because there's nuance to this right like it's like if you need if you are asking for donations
if someone needs fifteen hundred dollars if you need to pay your rent if you're like really if
if like your kid's sick like i will help you out but don't ask someone for a new freaking toy um when
you clearly have assets that you could easily liquidate a fraction of to buy yourself said toy
exactly yeah it's like it's like there's a difference between like my rent or my you know
i've always said people are like you know would you ever sell your ape and it's like well i don't know
maybe if i need to i i don't like i haven't really thought that through but like as far as like the
reason for selling it it's like yeah like if i needed to pay a bill if i needed to you know what
i mean like like those are like like legitimate reasons like where i i'm not going to sit here and
tie myself to a jpeg if you know i even said at one point i'm like man my tax bill is too high and i
need to sell my assets i will and so like i i just i i can't fathom asking and i know it's like
like it's one of those things where it's like he's like oh you probably be like oh it's a bit
right it's a bit till it's not like it's a bit and then you get 70th and whether he returns it or not
i don't know but whatever i mean again to each their own like to me it's like again if somebody is
like holding a six-figure asset and then is like hey i'm raising money for charity okay get that right
like that that's cool um but i don't know like yeah that sort of thing is why people laugh at us or
say that we're ridiculous in this world um so i don't know as we're getting warmed up by the way
hit us with a like a retweet a comment down in the box in the bottom right hand corner um go ahead and
uh up top we do have our dgen network uh sort of uh vcon recap um up there so appreciate uh anybody
who wants to like retweet and share that as well it was an amazing conference for dgen also we we're
probably burying the the real lead today that steve aoki has i mean i think he's at this point
he's officially become the jim kramer of web 3 i don't know i like we talked about yesterday on the
show that kalish was going to wear his big red boots to game seven and sure enough not only did
he wear his big red boots to game seven showing up next to him courtside is steve aoki in his big red
boots uh for game seven and um i as drew put in the in the war room like we should we should him
being a celtics fan we should have known like as soon as that picture came out that it was it was
over and it wasn't even a close game i i was sleeping for many hours by that point before it was over but
uh looking at the uh the box score this morning didn't appear that it was ever really much of a
game and um i'm sure that celtics fans and rightfully so can be blaming steve aoki for showing up and
and uh having to uh crash the party last night yeah jason tatum appeared to basically spray his
ankle on the first play of the game so that didn't help um but i'm not complaining i had i had a wacky
parlay thing last night where it was like you know a double double from like jason tatum and bam and
then like jimmy butler for 25 plus points which hit so ridiculous parlay that hit and also i had heat
plus seven and a half didn't talk about it because i didn't want to jinx it but i i felt comfortable
once they're up like 20 went in the war room last night popped in the chat for a little bit uh
chatted with uh with the folks i did notice uh speaking although this is this is the thing worth
bringing up for proof um that michael jordan's son is better than all of lebron's sons combined
jimmy butler here obviously i'm referring to oh i was i was like i was like damn um the um i was like
i was like michael jordan's sons were not but um but yeah i don't know the good jimmy butler joke
fair enough um was in the um was in the war room and a couple times diesel was like hey rigs and i'm
like are you guys just talking people to people at this point because they both obviously won that
at the proof event so that was um that was kind of uh kind of funny when he just a couple times
like hey rigs and then rigs left and like diesel left the same time now the game was over but i'm
leaving that fact out and it was just funny because it's like wait all the people people leave
at the same time so um that was an interesting thing but good time in the war room last night shout out
to dow jones for always putting that stuff on had a hell of a time hanging out there last night um
you know as we get started and then we'll kind of run through uh hands uh it's totally cool i would
say um something worth um you know something worth you know just bringing up i do want to hit at a
very very high level because it's funny because i said this would be tough on a proofless tuesday
because a couple people you know hit me with dms and some other things about it i'll say this if you
missed it at a high level and if you want more rigs will gladly talk on the subject at lunch break
today so if you don't get enough of this conversation this morning tune in at noon yeah i mean the net net
of it if you're not familiar and and again rigs will talk at length at lunch break i'm sure i'm sure
he's got the feel in some sort of way um i know personally you know i was i was taken aback by it i
some comments in the war room yesterday but net net um caro went on at spaces he was talking about the
market and he made a comment about like well statistically if you look at it if you bought
the board api club top you're actually more than if you bought the moonburn top which is like math
is hard i like caro more than most but like you nailed it cap i guess at this point and again i
don't want to go like all proof this morning because i'm exhausted by it but i do think it it was in the
news all weekend if you are wanting to listen to it again thread guy did a tremendous space where caro
spoke himself on it yesterday the one thing i didn't hear at least when i was listening at the time
that i thought was worth bringing up is like obviously he's like i shouldn't have said it it
was stupid cool man like you gotta don't put your foot in your mouth like i know either like
his when you listen to him talk he's actually not stupid he knows what he's talking about and he's
smart it's just he's not a good communicator comes across is super arrogant too especially in these
like it's just it's bad like it really is bad and that's also i'll just drop my thoughts i'll sum
it up with a five character tweet i shit out this morning i'll pin that up above and that's my
thoughts on on caro and the entire subject matter yeah and it's like it's like kind of like at the
point where it's like he brings value to that company because caro can go on cnbc or you know
go or you know cnbc or go on you know a meet joe rogan or whatever it is and talk about nfts and be
a hero and a champion for nfts to the world just do that like like coming on a space and saying
your apes are down and it's not because i have an ape the problem is what he omits from that or
doesn't realize or maybe didn't mean it this way in that time frame if you had bought the board
club top you would have gotten a hundred plus thousand dollar airdrop of ape coin plus another
fifty plus thousand dollars of assets that you could have sold now a lot of people didn't sell
a lot of people are still holding that's fine but when you talk about like oh well if you bought the
top and you omit the fact that they've been shipping product and delivering on gaming and
on top of that they airdropped you again a hundred and fifty thousand dollars worth of stuff it's like
at some point it's like just stop like the when when you have to constantly put your foot in your
mouth or or say like whoops my bad like i i don't know if he doesn't care which to cap's point maybe he
doesn't but like and again this is one i'm gonna state again do not want to go in depth on this one
today i think we can talk about a lot of other stuff and i know i am i am exhausted about this
one but it's like at some point like just stop doing it like stop saying these things delegate
communicate get somebody who's like luca and just hire them to be your luca just pay someone a bunch
of money to go to spaces talk about what you do create sort of the good reputation for the community
bring kevin rose out when you need to have a real conversation and like reveal some news drop some alpha
go on those bigger podcasts where he crushes he crushes tim ferris you know obviously a friend
of his who he crushes these things just do that because it's like you're just it's it you're not
at a point where you can keep doing this just just stop agree with everything you said the other is
just like it shows that just a complete disconnect from like the pulse of the space like the comment i
think i felt the comment about pudgies even comparing it like what's it how's it different than
vfriends and what gary did like there's nothing innovative there like that those comments and he did to
his credit if you listen to this whole thing he gave luca credit but just to even make that comment
it's just like it shows that he wasn't he hasn't paid attention to this pudgy toy that have taken
over like for a better part of a week took over all of our timelines and just to be so disconnected in
that it's just like if you're not connected like like you need to move on from providing commentary on
the space especially if you're going to be attacking other founders who are shipping things like it's just
it's mind-blowing to me it's it was in part that's mind-blowing about it too on the pudgy thing
to me is like again i want to be careful and like and this is like the tough part because as we said
like i am more of a fan of k-ro and proof in general than most but man it's like when you're
making that comment related to pudgies and i know that he ended up trying to back it up and give luca
the flowers and everything like that if you don't see the difference between being in toys or us which
is like in like you have to like search for with a map and a macy's and what luca did with amazon and
also understand launch plan luca's past and what he's done and it's like you know again this is
like not meant to be harsh but it's like not to mention it's like a digital trojan horse like it's
an onboarding to to get people into nfts like unless i'm completely missing it like v friends was just a
plushie it was just a toy like this is correct vastly different and also this is what you do with a
launch plan like again like part of moonbirds problem that we've seen over and over again is like the
launch plan the community like we talk about the communication forget the communications launch plan
around things and how they've executed on it has been an issue and it's like now you have a person
who launches a toy with a great launch plan that the community gets around they were to the point
where they become one of the number one trending toys on amazon it's not more and he said market
conditions but like it was weird because it's like well the market conditions suck right now and
they just did that the market conditions were great when gary launches toy but he launched a plushie
because and by the way oh good go ahead what luke has done is he in one drop in one launch of a
product with this toy line he has executed better than what gary attempted to do with the toys and
better than what doodles attempted to do with doodles too like it's he's putting on an execution clinic and
i just like i don't know like i'm not i i agree like we need to get away from like the the like the cult
following of of leaders in this space none of their none of them are perfect none of them are
you know they're they're all going to make mistakes but it's like we talk about lifting others up and
let's let's praise those that are that are taking shots and this is one where it's like from my
perspective this is was a novel way to to launch toys it was executed very well from a marketing
standpoint and a launch standpoint a distribution standpoint and it was also executed very well i've
heard nothing but positive out of the pudgy world like it's just like it's they did what v friends
and doodles attempted to do and they did it they did both better in one launch like it's just like
to me it's like how are we not singing their praises and i think that's the other thing too is like most
the space is so like by commenting converse to that like what what good could possibly come from it you
got one of the most passionate vibrant communities in pudgy penguins and probably didn't win a lot of fans
with those comments well and it was just again to your point like that's part of what it is because
i also want to highlight like look good as we go through this so we're not spending the old time
on the fudge your point which is like luca like did something that and i also i don't actually think
what gary did is what gary is doing is he is spending a long time trying to build ip he's having
costume characters he's got trading cards he's he's trying to do the thing where he's saying i want to
build a brand around kindness and all the good traits that exist in the world with v friends
and that's great and he should and him watching the plushies that's great like i know people who
really like the toys they sold out they did well like if you held one of the ones that was given you
got like a free one or something great all that stuff's great and i am not saying this is a knock
on gary but like to not understand the difference and by the way to your point basically creating a
doodles too with pudgy penguins also with the toy also selling on amazon also getting people on the
blockchain by having as he put it you know the blockchain uh you know blockchain on the back end not the
front end you know that line that i wrote down i want people to get more out of the my 20 hour toy
than the 20 hour toy next to it all of those things it's like thinking through launch plan and execution
is like why that works and there's just such an irony of like the amazing communication launch that goes
along with and then someone being like well what's the difference between this and gary it's like
just like again if you're testing out or trying out these ideas like have a conversation with
somebody like sam nft statistics who's probably very familiar and could tell you the difference
before you go into space to do it because all you're doing is causing your holders consternation
and then um i don't know so so i'll leave it at that i'm gonna go to stoop here in a second
because i know stoop's always on a on a pretty quick clock here um so i'm gonna go to stoop first
but like again i don't want to spend a ton of time on it but i it's worth addressing so people know
what happened it was just saying that moonbirds are down less if you bought the top and if you bought the
top of board api club from a dollars perspective and then some comments about what's the difference
between you know pudgy penguins and and v friends on their on their product launch of their of their
toy and it's like luca launched in a bear successfully doing something really well and onboarding people
v friends launched in a bowl and great like nothing wrong with what gary did it was awesome but like
there's a clear difference and a clear difference in execution and again to cap's point if you are
disconnected let's like just you're hurting your holders and i'm gonna hear rigs today i'm gonna try to
tune in lunch break i have a meeting but i'm gonna try to see if i can maybe rug my meeting and just
go lunch break today because i i'm gonna listen back if not because i want to hear his take on it
because i think as a holder as a member of the council it's got to be exhausting to be like here
i go again like let's talk it out because like i've been tried to be balanced and fair on this this
stuff and i've tried to say like sometimes to a fault where people have been like hey you're being a
little too kind of like you know k row and the founding team on this one this is one that i heard in the
war room i was just like what are we doing here but um anyway i want to go to stoop and then again
we'll we'll keep we'll keep going on it or kind of keep comments quick ish on i don't want to rush
anybody quick ish on this topic because i know a lot of people don't want to go down this route again
it's just we keep having here and it's like all the wrong reasons to be in the news like let's get
some good news but anyway stoop gm sir how are you doing this morning gm gm i hope everyone had a
great holiday we are back it's time to get back into the workflow uh so i am here about to start
running a press i actually wasn't even going to talk about this i was up on thread guy's space
yesterday i kind of said my piece i still respect k row like i still he he has built a great project
but i just continue to see fumbles that kind of stated my piece there yesterday we actually had
a whole conversation within the v friends community about moderation and i know proof uh may
may also have some of these same issues about like discord moderation how are people getting
timed out muted kind of like what is that process so we really have like a whole two hour conversation
yesterday within the v friends community just about what are better ways that we can improve
the discord there's like 300 400 000 people in there some like og holders have been muted or silenced
they've been removed from the server and there's been like a lot of questions about that so we had a
really great conversation about that yesterday i really just wanted to pop in and say even with
moon birds even with everything that's happening with that i think it's also too important to
remember that we're all human right we all make mistakes and i know i know k row did make a mistake
i know that you know he would take it back if he could uh he can't and i think as we continue this
conversation it's important to remember that there is k row the founder there's k row the human they
are one in the same but i think a lot of people want to you know deify him gary v frank luca as like
these the powerhouses within the industry but they're only as powerful as we make them right
like we continue to support them so i think it's also important to remember those things uh happy
tuesday everybody and i'm really looking forward to this conversation today good good points and i i
think that's a good way to actually i'm gonna go ahead and double tap and thanks stoop for going that
direction because i think it is a good direction to talk about where we're going with the leaders we
support in this in this industry where there's this like weird and cap i'd love your take on this
actually because i'm kind of like finding myself in the middle where i do think it's important to
have those vocal voices and leaders and that's where i think like someone like a k row or a gary v
they have the credibility to go on those larger shows and be like nfts do this this is why you
shouldn't be afraid of this technology and you have that but then maybe in the community there's a
different voice but i also think like it's okay to have leaders that you support who are going to bring
this space forward and every single generation of you know whether it was the internet like people
like think about like steve case with america online you think about um you know uh you know
mark zuckerberg even though people don't like him now with what he did with facebook and push it forward
jack dorsey uh you need those leaders throughout these history uh historical movements of the web
um on the flip side you know uh napster right uh it's like you think about those uh that's important
so i it it is important to have those leaders but there comes a point when it becomes when you turn
someone into a religious figure um which again works pretty well for gary right i mean he's got a big
following but i don't even think of gary as a web 3 leader i just think of him as a business and
entrepreneurship leader and that's shown when you go to vfriend so i i don't know like i i'm curious
like your thoughts on these leaders in this space people like luca and frank and others and and how
how heavy we lean into them uh so my thoughts i had kind of an aha moment yesterday and it was
i was looking for that i'll go i'll go grab tg's space from yesterday if anyone wants to listen to
full recording but it was a my aha moment listening to that and i don't remember who said it to give them
credit it might have been eric eb7 um could be completely wrong though um
but it was and i know i've seen this right we've seen we've seen whale uh we've seen uh elena and i
believe the title someone correct me if i'm wrong but it's like researcher in residency residency i think
it's like their yes researcher in residency at azuki right so for so for so long we've been talking
about the power of comms and and pr you know personnel on the leadership team while i still am supportive
of that i don't disagree i think that would be very wise especially as we you know these these these
teams these brands these these projects become more mature they raise their rounds etc i think that is a
a key role that should be uh early uh if not one of the founding members of a team uh knowing what we
know about this space because not everyone is gonna have not everyone's like a frank you know and and
and like if if that's not like the personality type if they're not in the weeds like like it's it is
got to be exhausting to do what frank does right like to to build to and and i think we also have to
remember that frank also has a kevin that that is doing a lot of the other stuff that that a lot of
these other ceo type founders are probably a lot better than frank at but just because you see frank or
or luca having success interacting often uh you know on twitter and in these spaces doesn't mean
the individual let's see the founder the ceo has to be like that and in some cases they shouldn't
especially if it's not what they really want to do and what they're there could be the best in the
world at the thing that was the aha moment for me though was was the reference to whale and elena in
this this researcher and residency role at azuki you know zagabon isn't you know i don't know the guy
probably tweets every other day maybe um it definitely doesn't rarely if ever pops in my
timeline and not someone i think about like that's that's active you know in in twitter spaces or you
know putting out you know content often or uh it's just it's just not what i think of when i think of
azuki what i think of when i think of azuki and and they are very active in in the space but it's it's
it's community members it's whale and elena and many others but it's just there's two individuals that
i assume they're getting comp from the team to some degree i don't know i should probably ask now
i'm really curious after having this realization yesterday because on the space someone mentioned
like they use this exact comparison they like and they're like proof you know doesn't you could
really benefit from this role and in my head i'm like well they have that and i immediately thought
of rigs and lacos as two individuals that are they feel that same role to me but it's not in an in a
quote-unquote official capacity and so that was kind of my realization is i think that this whether
you want to stick with the researcher in residency the the thread or the the director of vibes hat hat
tip to uh to tally labs and in uh in in creating that that position early on with with thread guy and
and jenkins and you know regardless of whether you think like it's it's added you know a ton of value
inside the specific project or not um it was a very strategic role and in in novel at the time
right and i think this is another way to accomplish that same thing and even better in my opinion is
you know i'm i'm assuming that you know the the public facing that the the grinding out and twitter
and spaces isn't something that zagabond is excited about or passionate about or good at
and and and therefore has not chose to has chose to focus his time energy and efforts elsewhere
and instead of them hiring someone that that was that role that we've often requested of these
communities this head of pr head of comms they they maybe maybe it is a more of a direct employment
to hire but they've they've somehow they've formed this relationship with elena and and whale that
every day they're putting out great content not just on a zuki like rarely actually can i think of a
time where they were like pumping azuki's bags rather they're putting out content on the space
at large right like i'm sure there's others that are similar to this but it's like to me it was like
it i didn't catch it till yesterday that was like wow this is really well done and i think there's
something here that's worth unpacking and i think other projects would probably benefit like
like i don't know maybe it doesn't change anything if if in my example if if lacos and rigs get
uh get and get a you know more official role but i don't know and i guess the difference would be is
whereas i i you know it's it's got to be something that i think is not just always
about the project itself but but something that is is putting out content that the space wants to see
the people want to see and i think about whereas someone say well well proof does have that and sam who's
arguably the best in the business and but he rocks a punk right like so it's like the brand that is
out there every every time that like and now some of us know that sam has worked for proof and he he's
the one that puts out the proof podcast it's like it's very obvious to some of us but just think about
that subconscious every time you see a great piece of content i in my brain i think is that's a great
tweet that's a great piece of content from sam whereas now that i'm thinking about it subconsciously
there there's some azuki goodwill seeping in when i see a whale thread that i really like or when i
see a a daily update from alina like there there's there's something there and i haven't i don't know
if i'm no you're verbalizing it well or not but no i think you're exactly on point actually it's funny
you're saying this i pulled up a section i'm gonna read like a quick paragraph i think the painters
are here my dog is unhappy uh there's a paragraph in my book i was actually gonna read real quick it's a
short one but like your point so we have an entire section on community it's like one of the steps of
the framework we're building because of how important community is which you see the one
that brands with strong communities you look at pudgy penguins you look at you know dust labs you
look at and and d gods and what they do and you and you look at apes and like community is a strong
factor and it says you know this this paragraph as i pulled up which i haven't proved so we'll see
what happens here but it says regardless of the chicken egg order that's a reference to something
earlier any business issuing nfts should aim to foster a sense of community in order to drive genuine
powerful loyalty to their brand community is also important in the nft landscape of 2022
many companies have hired people to fill community leadership and engagement roles even the venture
capital firm scott works with a16z crypto has a community manager steve serves as the chief experience
officer at dj network the media company he co-founded and other companies have community experts with more
exotic title like director of vibes and with these titles while these titles sound silly to someone
hearing them in 2022 it's very possible that businesses will be hiring for these in droves
as they look to extend their brand in the world of web 3 in the early days of web 2 the title social
media manager sounded crazy but now companies must have most many companies have an entire department
filled with social media professionals adam brotman the former chief digital officer at starbucks
who helped architect the coffees coffee giants mobile payment plan tells a story about how he was
somewhat embarrassed of the title when he of the chief digital officer when title when he first got it now it's a
and nobody would blink an eye at a company higher for that position i only read that to go you know
and then this book's gonna be fire by the way i'm excited i have chills steve also bark bark the the dog
is also clearly a big fan i know hopefully he's not too loud i i know it's uh hopefully a little muffled
but it's like you know the point here is that community is critically important in bringing an nft program
from good to great so so important that it's lending that it's leading to brand new job classes
for emerging companies community feeds back into every step of then we talk about our ecosystem but
the whole point is like community feeds all of this stuff and when you are not actually managing your
holders and their expectations in that way and you're not hiring people who are good at it it's like
you have this entirely new job class that people like thread guy elena all those other people fill and to
your point you actually got out in front of it when you're like well sam has that role for proof to
some degree you're right sam has amazing thought leadership in this space he's somebody who i
absolutely look to look to you to set the tone but to your point i would never ask like like to the
point i think if you asked everyone in the space to like list their top five researchers and and those
that put out high quality content that's data driven like i don't know if i i think you'd be hard
pressed to find someone that did not include sam on that list if not at the very top of it
exactly but to your point and i understand it is a weird like because if i'm if i am proof
i actually like the idea of like look like if punk is your identity and that's what you go by i would
never ask you to change that i'm glad to bring you on you bring value to the company but if that's the
case it's not the person who's the outward facing person in the company so to your point whether it's
riggs or lackos as community leaders or they pay someone else a bag to be their sort of director of
vibe their community leader in addition because like what stevie does is she manages the discord the
community and i know how much work that is like a 24 7 job to be managing what she does she can't be
the one who's necessarily on spaces out doing all that work and she's great at what she does within
the actual discord within the community as a leader people love and respect her as they should
but the idea of having someone who is outward facing who is essentially your person who represents
your community like to your point i think of whale i think of elena i think of you know a gazillion
apes who don't have to be hired based on what they do right like we are to some points to some
degree representations of the eight brand by being here every day you know unpaid represent
representatives but in in lieu of those like go get somebody who is really respected in the community
throw a bag at them and just be like go be the person and your job is to hop around on spaces and
represent us period like it's it's that and like not just that obviously there's going to be other
things you bring to the table i would hire a good communications person to do it but like
those are the things that are sort of missing there and you're right it is having somebody who can
be that outward facing person who people know who gets a lot of engagement on the timeline it's like
oh yeah that person when like you want someone who's like when when your leader says something
that's like out of line you want somebody who can be like but you know that person you know like
oh but but sam or you don't think you need that and you don't have it and it's it's tough so um
yeah i think it's a good discussion again like and that's what i i appreciate about this discussion
is the overarching piece because community is a foundational piece and again we're seeing it in
the people there at starbucks they get it and they love the community and they've allowed us
to invest in a discord community that does this great these great things because they're like yes
this helps us foster a sense of community with our brand and connect people who would there is a group
of people in the starbucks odyssey discord who love starbucks who never would have been friends if
they had not joined that discord and they are so passionate there's a group of seven or eight core
people actually who we had in this discussion group recently and like i'm not going to get in
the nitty-gritty details of what we did or how we did or anything like that but like these eight
people it's like you see them and they're friends and they didn't know each other beforehand and
they're allowing us myself chris huddle suarez everyday john like you know bunch you like more
to actually foster this sense of community and they're like oh yeah we get it look at what's
happening in discord this is great right and so these things are sort of the um you know these
things it is such a key pillar if you want to go from like i said good to great in an nft program and
you're missing that right now and when you have somebody doing the exact opposite i mean it's like
running with ankle weights on it's like you're you're you're making it harder on yourself um a lot
of ranting here i'm gonna actually go it's like doing a murph by the way we have to shout out
caro finn who as we were talking murphs yesterday went out and actually did one during the show
oh yeah absolute beast that's i think maybe my goal will be to actually get myself in shape to do the
murph again next year because i i miss it like i said i think my best time is like 46 48 minutes
something like that i gotta look back but it wasn't it wasn't great i saw mark zuckerberg doing like 38
yesterday so now i feel like i gotta do better than that but um let's uh let's toss it actually down i know
circles and jam are sometimes on shorter pitch counts so we're gonna go to actually um
circles then jam and then uh probably jack joey josh uh circles gm gm gm everybody i wanted to
throw it back to the borbic conversation um so it seems like it's basically the natural progression
of the ben dot east saga of hey let's send a bunch of guy a bunch of money for a coin um and borbic just
kind of wrote that type of hey just send me something and you won't get anything um it's all
a meme called getting a free money i mean it just seems it's sad but it's also what what seems like
logically what's next yeah it's um it's like are we that bored right man i sure as hope we don't enter
like the the panhandling meta error that would be i might i might have to uh that would be muting
words and phrases for the first time ever if that if that's what we head into next if you're
dying to send somebody money go to open seat and buy sarah scripps open edition do that then you're
supporting a great artist who's doing great work it's fun we're printing out actually i don't think
i said this a lot i actually am printing out sarah's uh mrs nft bark uh minted like two or three i
minted two or three i got like the let's fucking go realize that framing let's fucking go in my house
with kids and probably can't get away with that so we actually have one she got one that's it's
hilarious because it's like this beautiful like you know calligraphy paper and it's got flowers
around it and it just says pizza so we're actually printing it and putting it in our kitchen we're
getting it like into this glass print and we're gonna put it in our kitchen so that like when people
go through they're like oh pizza haha and then we could be like actually that's sarah like she's a
talented artist here's what she does so we can tell the story behind it but it's very cool so
that one's going up um debated if i wanted to just say like lean into it and just put let's
fucking go somewhere but probably would be frowned upon with my kids um kids parents so uh kids
friends parents so we will not go there um but yeah don't enter the panhandling meta i don't want
to get there i i'm hoping we are not that bored um let's um could i just make a quick correction
he had fourteen thousand dollars in each in his wallet already or and and so he didn't raise 70
he already had that in his wallet when asking for the fifteen hundred dollars for the new phone
great eat better awesome uh gonna get gonna throw out another worthy cause if you feel like donating
some money giving some money to uh i dropped actually mr pink house of first is doing a giveaway
of the little mermaid nft honoring uh nick davis but uh and and i i believe all these funds go to
tiffany his his wife nick passed away uh a while a few months back and um nick and house first continue
to do good to support that family um again no obligations i think the the retweet is is free and
you could you could win one but um i i feel that that sort of stuff is certainly much more worthy of
support than buying someone else uh an iphone that's got 14 grand in their in their hot wallet well
not just that just to double tap on that really quickly the giveaway isn't just that the giveaway
as my dog gets big mad again um is is or the um the uh mint is not just that money goes to tiffany
but also a portion of the proceeds are actually going to help um people from the black community
learn how to swim they drown at a disproportionate rate he was talking about on saturday morning cartoons
so the idea that you know there is an opportunity to help people kind of close the gap in a scope of
something that they need and that number is way too high mr pink um you know he talks about like
the little mermaid and why it mattered to him you know he's you know i think he mentioned i forget um
mr pink's i don't want to miss uh give his origin but uh he uh you know he talked about seeing you
know coco as a kid and and or seeing coco with his his nephews and being like oh my god that's our
favorite disney movie because we see ourselves on screen and how the little mermaid can help other
people see themselves on screen and you know the the tie in there with swimming and the
disproportionate uh drownings that happen it's like good causes doing good things that are better
than an iphone for someone with 14 15 000 liquid at the moment um let's go over to jam and then we
will keep going through probably i think it was jack joey josh uh jam gm sir gm on in an elevator can
you hear me yeah no absolutely you're good yeah so you know i think i think kevin's between a rock
a hard place uh kevin has proved that uh from the conversation two days ago or the comments he
made two days ago that he can't really have an open and honest conversation in public and so people
want him to be this frank like character where he's very you know transparent but he just mentions i
mean i feel like i'm going crazy he just mentions another project and if it's not overtly positive
and people like lose their fucking shirt i mean the guy like you you it's ridiculous and i mean i
feel like i'm going crazy like please like if like what is the major thing that was done that like he
you know what did he do so i really don't get it um but the other thing i want to say is like
my mother told me the golden rule is treat others as you want to be treated
and if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all those two little pieces of
advice i think i think would go a long way with kevin it's just like they're unnecessary comments
like you can talk about whatever you want but it's it's proven to not be beneficial and it's just i
don't see other other no other founders that i see are talking about others in the space no you
shouldn't be not not not and not in a negative light when others are doing things i just i think it
is completely unnecessary it doesn't accomplish any good at all like i just respectfully disagree i don't
i don't think it's yeah i don't i just is my point no i hear i hear that's fair i mean you can't
anyone could it's a it's freedom of speech you can talk about whatever you want i'm just saying for
from from what we continue to see an issue time and time again i think it would be better off to
not be providing commentary on other founders and other projects in the space at this time that's
that's my that's the last thing i'll say i just think i think it would be an easy decision
that there's nothing good of coming out of these these comments okay i mean look i guess we're just
going to have to go ahead and disagree on that because i i think that he i listened to that
conversation you know i was in that space and like i didn't think he said anything weird at all i knew
he was going to get shit for bringing it up but the other thing is that like he sorry i'm on a bike by
the way the other thing is like he i think he wants everybody to shake out like if you're
so sensitive that you can't stand it you know when like just normal conversation is being made
and you're like you know blow up then maybe you shouldn't be in the community but that's
i don't i don't well that's working if that's the case like he's he's it's working like i i have
i no longer have this i i came out of nfc wanting a proof pass and now it's like i i really have no
desire to even get a moonbird at this point it's like maybe down the road i'll pick up a mystic but
i i just it's so far down my list and it's largely due to his comments so that's that's for me someone
who was in the community like i've chose to leave and i'm not it's just i i've i'm speaking with my
wallet so i i agree that that is actually working let me say this i don't know if he wants that i
want that i want people who like just the other little dirty secret is that the nfc space is shrinking
okay hold on i gotta stop the bike because i'm out of breath whoo okay the nfc space is shrinking
you got to bring people in and he's you know if you listen to nfc stats or guys like that or women
like that you're you're that's what really matters here is getting the next million people 500 000
people in so i think that's where he's going he's skating to where the puck is going to be
and i mean how do people not that's i'm not sure but i guess i guess jam i'm not sure how you
extrapolate that from the comments yesterday right i mean it's like it's like to me like if he's
interested in getting the next uh however many people on then probably not understanding the
difference between what luca did and what gary did is a nuanced issue and to me it's like showing
a lack of understanding of what's going on on the ground in the space where he is very smart at a high
level in where the space is and how it is where the crypto industry is he gets it i've heard him
talk at length on like a podcast like a tim ferris i think that is a better place for him i don't think
anyone is demanding for kevin rose to be frank like i would disagree with you there that's why i think
our point is put someone in place to represent proof in a way that is something that you know is
somebody who is here every day understanding it and represents them as a forward-facing member of the
community rather than having someone come out and make again the commentary about apes is just it's not
that it's like it's not hurting my feelings it's just tone deaf when you your project is down as
bad as any in the space which he understands and gets and then you make a comment about the most
successful one in the space which by the way he said if you bought the top you'd be down more dollar
for dollar and then he excludes the fact that you would have gotten 150 200 000 worth of airdrops and
have been executing on you know events projects uh you know games and online experiences i think that's
where people are like it's not that he necessarily is like i think there is a overreaction i
understand your point of view there and i don't think you're wrong jam in the overreaction that
happens from time to time i just think it came across as tone deaf and it's like is this the
person that people want to follow into battle you know it's like we were talking about yesterday garga
doesn't need to say anything you know because he doesn't and we're fine with that you know so i think
that's the issue is like it comes across as tone deaf it's not that it's the most egregious thing in
the world it's just like what are we even doing here man my tie-in with like bringing you know skating to
where the book is going to be is the fact that if you did listen to the original spaces he was
talking about ai developments and wanting to take advantage of those things he he's talking like
he's signaling to the community that what he thinks is important to be aware of in this space
and you gotta like read between the lines um a little bit too i think that that he has a little
not a duty but i think if i had to say that he is like doing like making like he is not he's not
doing tweets he's not doing you know collectibles in that in that way and that's fine and i believe that
he showed you know like fairness and and positivity and like around you know luca and all the communities
doing that kind of a thing like he wasn't like you know shaming it or putting it but he's saying that
if you're listening we need to get more people in he doesn't think that toys are going to do it
and guess what he's making the news for saying that just he doesn't think that toys are going to do
it like people people listen to him he's like he makes the news from a first principal's point of
view like we all react to everything that he says like who else like who else has that but that's my
point that that is my exact point is that i think he should play that role i've listened to him on tim
ferris talk about ai incredibly educated knows what he's talking about like i i agree with you that
that is a role that makes sense for him i can just tell you like i the thing about the candid
conversation i mean i can tell you at any job i've been at where i was in charge of like
executives and getting them out to like talk i could never roll out an executive and have two
tone-deaf comments in a matter of a one-hour situation i realize there's a whole context of
that but you coming on and having to translate that is the problem in and of itself no it's not
me translating it's me it's this is what i think what i think is that we got this is a human being
with a biased perspective point of view and all that stuff he is never going to he he may even not
even want to i don't know but he is never going to represent the center of that triangle where
it's it's fair and it's balanced and it does like if you want a neutral like point of view like go
somewhere else like the guy's allowed to have his opinions and he's allowed to have assertion
in what he wants to do and if that means that he has to offer an opinion that doesn't agree with
somebody else's you can't like get mad because but it's it's not it's not it's not an opinion of
an opinion that toys aren't going to onboard is one thing an opinion of what's the difference
between this and gary v's drop shows that he wasn't paying attention right and an opinion of
we are down you know well factually statistically we're down less than the age from a dollar's
perspective when apes had a higher floor and have done a million things since then like those two
things are going to get pulled out whether we like it or not and like i don't think it's a matter of
having an opinion but also i guess this is the this is the difference here and i guess i'll let
you get one again one more time but you know because we'll go to mintify in a sec here but i'll
say this like i don't know that like is that like you are happy with your leader of your project doing
that and i get that and that's a difference of opinion there me personally i would rather him have
a representative for the community come out for things exactly like you said when you're talking
about ai the future of the space he is magnificent at that you put him on a long-form podcast with
tim ferris he nails it right that's what i think he should be doing if i were if i were advising him
on communications and doing that right that's what i would be doing not saying jump on a spaces and
make comments about other projects when we're down bad it's like and then almost like you know kind of
like jokingly being like rule number one don't talk about other projects floor prices like no but like
if you are when we've seen frank and others talk about it there's been a level of understanding
of where the space is and that's why they don't catch as much shit because they seem to have they
seem to have more of a nuanced understanding as they go into it and again he gave luca flowers at
the end of that space like i understand that but you have to understand like if you are the leader in
the face of a company and you come out and do that especially when you're like punching at the
biggest one in the space like that's that's a big shot to take without context so that i think is
where people get a little bit of an issue what he did to me what he did in my perspective first of
all he didn't really do anything too crazy but in real in response to your comment he he put
communicating to his holder base uh in front of being somebody who is worried a little bit about
like offending like this person like in a like a very minor way and like you know like a tertiary way
and like i don't know he kind of like made a made a high level comment he didn't like get into like
the the nitty-gritty with it yes he didn't go into like the fact that you got airdrop some stuff he was
just saying like look all projects are down like um lord apes you'd be you'd be down a bunch too
under certain circumstances right he didn't mention the airdrop and all that stuff um but i think like
that's not the important point i think if he wanted to talk about all the little nuanced things
like that then he would and but he doesn't and he doesn't because he's making a larger point and
he's putting communicating that to his community on spaces above making all these like points that
like he doesn't think matters now if you want to fault the guy for having the wrong point of view
that's one thing but like i don't know and listen i just standing on the branch i see what you're
saying like you do have to be sensitive to speak publicly but i i actually i respected the fact that
it was he was getting to the point of what he wanted to say my in my opinion and and that's i think
you should do that i i i see you know it's a poor guy he's got he's got so many people like hanging
on every single word i mean what better sign do you want um in in a in a founder and a community
leader but i get i get your point uh point of view too yeah no totally fair and look i'm not saying
you're wrong in what you're saying and and we're gonna we're gonna pivot to mincify here in a second
i'm not saying you're wrong in your perspective i guess my point being like if i'm looking at how i've
seen a leader leading companies at places i've been and other leaders in the space i would rather my
leader like luca was up here on stage and obviously he's not going to say ill things about doodles but
he's doing something seemingly better than doodles is doing doodles too at the moment and austin's on
stage and he's sitting here and he's like love what doodles are doing big supporter of what they're
doing right he wasn't like hey i'm doing this thing better than them or it's just i i think there is a
level of and i'll leave it at this i think there's a level of from my opinion being when you are in a
leadership position at a company being conscious of what you said being conscious of how you say it and
understanding that you've now seen this thing where when you tweet and do things people hang
on your every word to your point so wouldn't you want to use that power to in like you have the
ability to empower your community with that versus sort of put them in this position that they're in
today and so that's why i would be more careful about what i say it's not about you know again it's
it is it silly that we get this like wrapped up in everything someone says for sure but there's also
a power that comes with that people get wrapped in everything frank says and luca says and
they use that to propel their community forward it feels like we took a step back but again like
open to disagreement on that totally see your point want to sort of mintify for the sponsored update
because it is the nine o'clock hour and we always like to get there beforehand jam always appreciate
your perspective here and like to disagree without being disagreeable and understand where you're coming
from so we'll go that direction uh mintify gm how was your day yesterday gm gm uh it was it was good
nice uh nice relaxing day got some work done and uh yeah hung out a little bit how about yourself
it was great it was great took it easy with the with the family my mom came over and uh hung out
with the kids a little bit so it was a nice nice kind of relaxing day a little work done in the
morning and uh you know took it easy in the afternoon so that was nice but uh but yeah very nice
yeah it was uh it was beautiful out in uh on long island yesterday got a nice bike ride in after doing
some uh some good work but uh yeah let's let's take a let's take a break from uh all of the the
endless crypto twitter uh drama and let's let's just look at the what's going on in the market
very similar to yesterday but some interesting uh some interesting news to touch on the volume
starting off 17 million for ethereum up 46 percent almost bitcoin 4.2 million down about three percent
solana 1.4 million 0.7 percent up and matic 720k down 30 percent it's like a a little achievement
whenever this one gets over over a million i'd like to see that uh personally uh you know getting
a little bit more consistent i think this this is my opinion um i'm i'm a big fan of matic and i don't
even have that much exposure there but uh i see their team doing lots of big things the highest sale
91.16 for board ape 16.59 i was looking at the history of this one just a few days ago it traded um
for like you know half this price so there's some there's some weird stuff uh stuff going on with you
know mid-tears and whatnot the top trending by volume uh knock amigos number one today 0.59 up 18 percent
board apes 45.45 down one percent and opay pen 0.82 up three percent the top trending by sales
knock amigos also number one here number two is bitcoin milady's i believe this was also number
two yesterday this time there's a there seems like there's a reason for it 0.143 up 43 percent
they announced uh about about a day ago um a little bit after the show yesterday that in collaboration
with ordinal's market and experts they uh they released the brc 721e uh contract that allows
erc 721 tokens to migrate to bitcoin and number three for the top trending by sales is opay pen so
knock amigos and opay pen absolutely taking over the market update today the biggest winners
spectrum pepe's 0.032 up 220 percent fables by metacozo 0.033 up 32 percent and radbro we bring radcats
0.068 up 28 percent as for the market news 587 million uh dollars in optimism tokens won't walk from
vesting for core contributors and investors i believe tomorrow which is more than uh it'll essentially more
than double the circulating supply and 62 million a much smaller uh release in sui tokens won't walk
on june 3rd the ordinal's inscription count passed 10 million inscriptions rod armor the creator steps
down as lead maintainer and is being replaced by raf jaff bitcoin is selling for a five thousand dollar
discount on finance australia as the fiat withdrawal deadline wounds um if you have any way of uh of
transacting on there and and able to get funds off uh could be some good arbitrage opportunity
representative warren davidson says that the proposed taxes uh like the proposed tax the third the proposed
30 tax on electricity for miners were eliminated from the u.s debt ceiling deals so uh if that passes it
looks like that mining electricity tax will not go through at this time and the singaporean state-owned

i believe something like 250 million um so don't don't really blame them there as for the market stats
global crypto market cap 1162.25 billion bitcoin dominance 48.2 percent open interest coming down
a little bit 8.69 billion fear and greed at 51 with crypto still uh still up from its little rally from
yesterday bitcoin uh 279 15.1 percent up ethereum 1910 up almost 0.7 percent and the s&p 42 36 up half a
percent uh that is all thank you yeah fascinating stuff i think the ordinals thing continues to be
fascinating to me inscription count above 10 million is a lot um as it continues to go out there and
figuring out how you separate the wheat from the chafe in those and and what's going to continue to
add value but as soon as you finish the hand flies up get back in i just realized i i accidentally left
out one of the one of the news topics uh pancake swap launched a uh a tower defense game called
pancake protectors where you can earn uh their cake token uh just wanted to get that in there
thought it was pretty cool that is uh that's the last thing no it's interesting my son yesterday
just asked me he goes you know hey dad do you like tower defense games and i was like oh they're
fine i kind of dig them and he was like i really like them so maybe i'll have my son earned some
i'll earn some cake clearly it would be his son because pancakes and steve do not go in the same
sentence it's way too much of a breakfast food unless it's unless it's in the evening hours then he may
mess around with some pancakes absolutely yeah then then it's not it's not a proper breakfast food
um let's uh let's run down i know jack's been up here for about an hour as well as joey so we're
gonna go jack joey josh and we'll go down to dave toronto uh jack gm sir gm gm uh firstly just like
to make an announcement that i was not if you've just joined the spaces the person who started talking
about proof has mentioned proof in any way shape or form until now um and this one definitely goes out
to loop who for within four seconds i was gonna break in to the chat and just say just just one
thing about this um i actually i really love love the broader topic of you know like i i think we're
all sick of like the specifics right now and it's just not the first second or third um communications
issue that that we've touched on with the team specifically but i i do like the idea of you know
how do these founders impact projects and should we put be putting them up on a pedestal
um and also more broadly like is there a fix to this like uh where do moonbirds and proof need to go
from here but more broadly where do projects who have seen a significant downturn without any sort of
real engagement within the you know the bear market in terms of like positive sentiment like where do they
go from here because i i'm scratching my head as to where where where they would go um i i think the
idea of like can they go back to just you know almost just putting the like wiping off the chalkboard
like let's just start again and really just dig deep into their holder base because i feel like that
the people who are winning right now it is through relentless engagement it's with the communities but
also within the spaces and whether kevin's good or bad at that um and other project founders are good
or bad at that whether they need to engage in terms of like putting a bunch of stuff on the timeline
or whether they need to engage by commenting a bunch of stuff on the timeline as in actually
becoming a reply guy within their own community and i think is really interesting because i think
the only way i see these teams um sort of turning this thing around for me is by literally just going
back to start from scratch and go like just driving through that 1k true fan fan sort of mentality
and finding those people like your rigs and this is to cap's point and and like your causes who you know
produce really solid content when you look at their pfp being a moonbeard's pfp jam you're strongly
becoming one as well like you see um you link that to positives about the pfp because the people behind
the pfp is such strong community members within this more broad space and i think trying to figure
out what they want and i know they've got a council i don't know if it's really that like i think it
definitely needs to be bigger than that um i just i'd love to see these people in discord more
on twitter more actually just flagging like a hundred of their like favorite like pfp accounts
and uh and actually hitting their replies reading their timeline and and engaging more in that side
of things and i think understanding just more broadly the space and finding some of those thought
leaders even outside of the community community like whale and like some of these other people
um couldn't hurt either because i think a lot of what um caro said yesterday um especially around
pudgies and especially around board apes if you were more involved in the space and i get that
they're building a bunch of other stuff and i get that he's busy and he's got a but it's beside the
point uh at this that this stage like it all can be looked back to not understanding like how exactly
this community is is thinking right now and this wider space is thinking right now and i think they just
need to you know bite the bullets on this one and just have a screen out of the four screens that you
may own that is just the twitter timeline have a couple of lists with the right people on them
and just consume that content religiously that's sort of where i i stand on all of this and i'm done
talking yeah i mean like and i think for founders in general like one of the things that luca and frank
do really well is they and board of yacht club did this early on like people don't remember like part of
the early bird of yacht club days that main board of yacht club account and gordon and garga to some
extent retweeted everything and still do from the community somebody gets married or engaged getting
engaged wearing a board of yacht club hoodie retweet someone goes to disney with a board of yacht club
shirt retweet i meet somebody with a board of yacht club shirt and he is the same one as me and we
meet in public and say hi retweet like amplifying your community gets them excited when your community
members have the best tweet they've ever had perform because you retweeted it it encourages them
and so like yeah like that's an easy like fix right for like and i know moonbirds does that from
an account perspective but like having somebody who's like paying attention to that i think is
ultra important and also i think this is also as simple as like what are you good at and do that and
when you aren't good at something hire someone else to do it for you it's like it's that simple that's
how every company in the history of the earth works great leaders say i'm good at this like and he's
good at certain things hire to fill those gaps and one of those gaps i mean i just read a paragraph
from a book that like i'm that is like being read by people who are out of the nft space who are like
that makes so much sense when i read it right our editor our publisher it's like that paragraph in
and of itself tells you what you need to know about like the importance of community and it's like if you
aren't good at it or don't have it that's okay find someone who is and realize like the gravity of
your words and the words that are coming out of your mouth and and bring on somebody who can
do that really really well not everybody is luke or frank that's okay kevin's not kevin is we love
kevin on the show from d gods right kevin from d gods comes on it's come on from time to time
whatever kevin is great at building he's not as good at frank at what frank does and he's acknowledged
that and so he lets frank cook at what he does and he does what he does and that's and frank said the
same thing like when we met frank in and in new york city cap and i were talking to him and frank's like
oh kevin kevin did all this he's so great at this i'm good at this part he's they know and they
understand and that is an important thing uh go back to jack and we'll go to joey
go ahead jack thanks steve i think where where i'm falling on all of this is the the strongest
projects right now both in terms of floor price but also sentiment it's the person at the helm who
is involved religiously in consuming their community's content um and just feedback and
that's both in discord uh there's just such a sense and they hit the spaces continuously
and even zagabon like he understands his community very very well like he he's not the like voice behind
it all but when you look at whale like as cap was saying like when you look at the the platform that
they're providing uh these these creators to to you know favor their own brand and then you look
at like vegas and everything they're doing there it i i can't see any like anyone who wants to be the
voice of the project and kevin clearly is right now whether you know he likes it or not you you if
you're going to speak to things about this space you just there is no person in my opinion um who you
can hire out to to give you that feedback you need to have a sense of the timeline um you can still be
the founder i'm not saying that in any way that you couldn't be the founder and not have that
engagement you just can't be the voice and i think i've seen justin take a bit more of a step into that
mantle place and do in my opinion a much better job at that like engagement side and i've watched justin
when k was talking give like almost not not the the opposite take but like just to say oh by the way
these are the points kevin's just missed around this like subject he's touched on and i've went
from being like oh you really shouldn't say that to be like okay no that you know there's the context
that we needed and he was aware of the community enough to add that context i just i i think he
either needs to take a step back and let justin take that side of things and be more of a you know
a zagabon figure in that regard whilst the you know the space just love footing kevin right now he
can't say anything right even if he did but the fact that he definitely isn't saying the right
things i would just take a step back entirely from that side of it hit the discord still 100 let's
just do a lot more talking there but leave the community communication side to someone who's like
religiously consuming that content um it is my take and i'm done talking i'll let some of the speakers
go no agree with you on all those takes i think that that's the move i think you and i think all
projects should be thinking about that look we don't hear garga on spaces all the time and i know
board of yaka is a different animal and we don't hear zagabon on space all the time it's it's and i
think it's okay it's just knowing where you fit into the equal i think zagabon realized pretty quickly
that especially after that space when his floor price dropped and kind of was left for dead at that
point probably not my jam to be doing this and we really haven't heard like i feel like i haven't
heard regularly from zagabon on spaces or anywhere else literally since that space with uh you know
uh andrew wang like the apology yeah that i'm sure he's been on spaces since then but i i was thinking
the same thing that's the last time i've heard him or even maybe seen him on my timeline actually no
there was another tweet i i don't remember what it was but i vividly remembered liking and agreeing
with on this show but seen him maybe like two times since the uh since the apology show i've seen yoga
i've seen elena i've seen whale seen them all but not not him so anyway uh let's run to joey then
we'll go josh and then we'll go down to dave uh joey thanks for your patience sir i know it's been a bit
gm gm everybody um i so my comment is i know we don't want to we didn't want to go into this somehow
we still but it's okay so i don't know if anybody listened to the thread guy space and um so on the
thread guy space a pudgy penguins holder came up on stage and asked you know and kevin made a
comment you know rehashed his comment about what the pudgy penguins were doing and the pudgy penguins
guy was like do you understand like what luca launched and he was like no can someone explain
it to me and he was like well the toy comes with a qr code the qr code sets you up an account into the
pudgy verse or whatever they call it i can't remember right now which gets you a wallet which
onboards you like he explained the whole process and how like the holders get ip rights i mean how
they license the ip rights so he explained all of this to kevin on thread guy space and kevin was like
oh i didn't know any of that and that's to me where the miss is like if you want to i don't have an
issue with people commenting about what other projects are doing good or bad well i do because
if you look in the real world the ceo of nike doesn't come out and talk about reebok right the
ceo of starbucks doesn't come out and talk about dunkin donuts right like this is only uber billionaires
in their space race uh yeah who can build the bigger faster rocket that's about the only thing we
hear like ceos going at it against each other correct right like they're never they will never
publicly talk about another person's business or or competitor because they know that that that's not
like the board isn't going to receive that well well and also real real quick joy imagine if their stock
price was down 95 and then they did that and imagine their stock price was down 95 and they did
that related to brands whose stock price were way up no i i i agree and i think that's where
we need to understand that like if we want this space to continue to move forward we have to start
treating founders like we treat big like web2 founders right like i mean we can we can list examples
and example examples of of how many times you know someone did make a comment about a competitor and it
negatively affected their business so tremendously right like unless you're a polarizing figure like
elon musk or donald trump or right like that's their shtick right i get it but the point that i that to
go back to the point i was trying to make is is he admitted on the thread guy's space that he had no clue
what pudgy was doing and and that's to me that's the miss as a founder in this space and and this is this
for every founder this is not just for kevin right because i don't want to just pick on kevin but if
you're a founder in a very small emerging space it should be your number one goal to understand what
every other person is doing and have somebody on your team that is dedicated to that so they so you
could have like if it's your weekly call or your bi-weekly call it's like okay guys what's going on in
the space oh pudgy penguins launch their toys they have a qr code right they licensed from their
holders they're like luca told us literally on the call that within four weeks they're going to release
on chain their on chain tech that they built that allows you to license ip from their holders so that
way you don't have to deal with writing hundreds of contracts with a lawyer like that's the kind of
shit that somebody on your team should be doing they should be going around to all of these spaces
understanding what's going on in this space and this is for every founder like last night somebody
uh the kaiju king's founder was on the space that i was on and he said you don't have to mimic what
other people are doing you don't have to try to be uh uh what's his name from uh from nine gag and you
don't have to be frank right you have to be your own self and you have to have your own identity
but you still need to understand what all of them are doing so you can intelligently speak about it
and so you can be prepared if the market starts to shift so that's where i feel like the miss was was
he admitted that he had no idea like what pudgy was doing um and and in general i think as as founders
you are the ceo you are the president right like take some leads from people in web2 and how they
conduct themselves in public these big businesses if that's your goal if that's not your goal right
like if you're if you if your goal is not to build a legitimate business because he says he has runway
for 17 years which to me sounds like you want to be a legitimate business maybe take the lead from
people who have a ton of experience and and and don't speak you know don't don't uneducatedly speak
about other competitors i guess you could say yeah no i think you nailed it i think that's i think
that's part of the problem is like when you say what's you know cap brought it up what's different
between pudgy and gary's toys massive difference and then when you say market conditions were the
reason this happened without knowing exactly what the nuances are agree with you like that's a problem
and learning that on the space it's like you know again a mat and this is what i'm trying to say
like imagine if you rolled out any fortune 500 ceo any ceo or executive i've worked with and been like
yeah let's go into public and let's talk about a competitor and let's actually not educate
ourselves on what they're doing beforehand and say like it'd be one thing if you said like this is my
like can someone tell me about this and then commented on it it's making a comment about
something like that even if you're giving them flowers at the end to be like oh there's no difference
between this and gary it's market conditions and someone i mean it's like oh this is what they're
doing it's like yeah and i understand like it's like oh well now i know but the damage is done so
good points all around joey okay no to your point like for for me who's also
worked in in similar companies as you like whenever we're going to have like a zoom call
or or do anything like public facing we always have like a pre-strategy meeting right like 30
minutes before and we talk about okay what kind of questions are we going to get asked what do we
need to know right so to your point like that might be something that every founder should consider
when they're going to go on like i don't know what luca did before your spaces right but i would
imagine he probably did i would hope did some research on like what's going on in his community
and in other communities so that way if anybody did ask a question and it seemed that way because
he was able to answer every question intelligently so to anybody who is a founder out there you know
maybe have like a 30 minute strategy call before you go public speaking um or make you know
announcements and i would take it a step further i think it's a good point like but honestly like
before every single person that i put in front of a media interview every single person that i put in
front of a presentation like some people are really good on their feet like a gary vaynerchuk or whoever
but like most people when you send them out in public have a crib sheet especially when you're doing a
call when they don't you're not on video and you don't have to be answering on video you are taught
media strategies you are taught how to say you know like i can't you know give you that detail it's
competitive but what i can tell you is blank right you have an entire sheet and list i've given the
example like when i put people on interviews and they've gotten off the interview and been like did
they give you all the questions beforehand and my answer is no i anticipated what they were going to
ask based on what their story was about and then i prepare the executive accordingly and then they go
on and talk about it and then they nail the interview and it's like you don't have to do that all the
time but if you were a leader of a company and you're speaking on like if i were coming on a space
to do like this i would have and i was a founder of a company that is like you know in the news i
would have you know 15 questions and be able to reference them and it's not like reading like a
robot but it's a matter of understanding the things people are going to ask you and how you can answer
them so yeah i mean it's it's whether it's a 30 minute call which people do or like i said like
my job was to prep you know spokespeople to be able to go on not to be disingenuous or spin things
but because we wanted them to represent the company and be able to use because not everybody's
the best orator what's amazing is the training that we offered for message training once our
executives did it they wanted all of their their teams to get it then once all their teams did it
they wanted their teams to get it it turned into the most popular training at progressive because
people at that point wanted to be able to speak to the ceo in a manner or internally be able to
present in a manner so even that those those skills translate beyond twitter spaces beyond interviews
they actually translate into your job and sort of this message training concept that we did
turning into this really popular training that we were backlogged on because people just want to do
it with their teams so that when an it leader had a business review and maybe they realized their
skill set wasn't presenting they were able to do it in a manner that made sense and not sort of step
on it or say things they shouldn't we have no fly zones things you don't want to talk about right
i again i do i mean i do this with starbucks for like interviews in a private gated discord so like not
doing it like as a founder it just it it's a miss it's an opportunity um josh i know you've been
super patient up here as well thanks for your patience sir gm what's up man um you know here
here's my general take i i think everyone's just like missing signal from noise it meaning like
what's the important takeaway here like kevin's not trying and that's just it like i don't need to
say too much more than that the guy's had his exit he's made over you know probably 40 million
that's the type of exit a founder would normally get if they sold a company for north of 100 million
right like your average founder might after dilution in an exit being acquired for 500 million dollars
might get about that amount of money so it kind of all the back and forth about uh well you should
have said this or to me very realistically uh not a big deal what happened yesterday this is something
it's been a little bit prevalent if you've been paying attention you could have seen this like
eight months ago what i do want to talk about though um is really kind of ai and what's happening
with nvidia and just kind of looking at where things are going like a lot of people are uh in our space are
very focused on nfts but right now we're kind of getting into the zero-thumb game and uh yeah like
maybe this nft will flip that nft but the reality is very very very few people are pulling capital
from bank accounts from stock portfolios into the nft market even even as a personal example i had
somebody reach out to me offer me seven figures to invest in the nft market and i just said you know
thank you i really appreciate the vote of confidence but i i don't have a vote of confidence
as to put this into an nft market but what i think is really interesting is kind of looking at the
capacity that a lot of people have now to build a company outside of their core competency due to ai
and like if you just look like nvidia's about a trillion dollar company today they went up i don't
know like 300 million dollars or like more in the past two weeks the market cap of nvidia went up more
in the past two or three weeks than the entire market cap of all of ethereum and so like when
you're thinking about signal noise ratio if there's something that you've wanted to do and you're not a
tech founder the ability to start to do that now is really really high it um i think like right now
my gut feeling on the ecosystem is now's the time to kind of be building to be connecting to be networking
like and i think staying away from noise is really important like okay cool kevin rose is doing
what kevin rose is doing uh that that is whatever there's a certain group of people that will love
what he does no matter what he does there'll be a certain group of people that won't forgive him
for things of the past okay but the reality is like that that's a lot of noise uh and any intelligent
investor can kind of see like that's not a good place to be focusing your energy where i think people
should be looking at is uh what can you create who can you connect with um and really really learning
the deep nuances of ai like and i hate to sound like um you know kind of i know that i'm sounding a
little bit of i'm taking this off to a side track from the conversation but uh your efforts that
like all these people here are super smart and they're understanding the nuances of oh like
here's a thousand things that uh go with the stuffed animal for pudgy penguins luca executed
very well as the qr code you get this ecosystem awesome if you spend that same amount of time uh
okay here's uh like how i can build my own code through ai here's how i can like do executable
things i think a lot of people are going to get a very positive yield on their time spent learning
in that ecosystem in the same way that like in 2020 i would have suggested to be looking into
the crypto space or to be looking into uh early 2021 into the possibilities of the nft space like
i think that you really want to just be taking an honest look at things and right now i think
the biggest potential in the future of nft today is going to be layers of authentication with ai
i strongly strongly believe that in a few years some people's best friends lovers romantic partners
will be ai uh i don't know what you would call them a ai units that will replicate human emotion
and that you'll be able to own that emotion set and that data set and that relationship through an
nft uh but it won't be called an nft it'll just be something that you can own port and transport
i think kind of looking at the future of technology that being said like if you really enjoy the drama
if you really enjoy like kind of the soap opera aspect of the nft ecosystem like absolutely you
can go back and forth with kevin and uh look at his professional relationship and how frank is maybe
or maybe not uh you know working together with them and you can kind of go down that dialogue but
if you if your goal is to kind of move forward i genuinely believe uh spend that same time and effort
on something that's positive something that's not going to be drama related looking for people that can
uh help you build the things that you can accomplish like to me i look at you steve you're
doing a lot of really thoughtful stuff like you're writing this space you're writing a book
you're uh consulting with starbucks and you're putting yourself in a universe to be successful
in a broad range of categories i think a lot of people could benefit from doing that and
maybe taking a step back from twitter drama and is this person gonna get a free cell phone is that
person gonna uh speak correctly about a stuffed animal like i i think putting a lot more effort
into uh things that are gonna build you up positively it's gonna be really really helpful for most people
hey steve real quick nvidia is about to to hit a one trillion market cap um they'll be like the
first chip maker it's pretty crazy to think that they're that big now yeah no it's and i agree
actually i mean and we've dm'd about this i actually wholeheartedly agree with you like i think it's
like for me it's sort of both but i'm very intentional with my time because like what i
learned is when you work in a corporate job you work don't have to work as many hours you get to
take the weekends off you get to take the nights off and you kind of can like you know take your time
working on the things you want to work on what i've learned as an entrepreneur is when you eat
what you kill you need to spend your time as valuably as possible i was actually talking to
bunch of you about this yesterday where we're just like look you need to like you know an hour spent
on one thing is an hour i'm not spending on something else so i'm very deliberate to your point
about like the book when the book's done probably the podcast will finally start and that's that's
intentionally tech focused and not nft focused like the tech the podcast that i've been toying
around with since day one has actually been tech not nfts because i don't want to be married to web
three in that particular venture um you know the book is very deliberate to your point businesses and
starbucks and these other brands and i think we can talk about like where this integrates into
businesses as well but i i mean i generally agree with you i think that the direction of
um where we're going ai is such a powerful tool there was a guy on stage at vcon that said he was
on one of the side stages he's like anyone on stage and anyone in this crowd like go buy chat gbt for
right 20 a month or whatever and he's like i'll give you the 20 or 40 or whatever it is he's like i
will pay it for you if after a month it literally doesn't change your life you know if you actually
use it and it doesn't change your life it's that good where i gave the example on here for every job i
was like oh where does chat gbt help me right i don't if i want to program or build a website i
guess it could help me with code really where does it help me with and the answer is like as a great
example besides all that stuff which makes sense was like i was getting ready for an interview with
someone and i just had a time crunch because we just mentioned we don't have a lot of time
i put in you know you put in the person's website you put in their information your interview style
you get like 15 20 questions so an hour and a half two hours of research for an interview which which i
always want to interview people and ask them a question they've never been asked so i'm trying
to be deep i want to have two hours of listening to podcasts looking at the you know combing through
the stuff i have a list of questions that i needed to refine right because ai is not perfect but it took
two two hours and turned it into 15 minutes or less and like the power of that time and that's one
small example is wacky if you're not playing around with things with ai right now and it's it goes even
further right like i'm part of a 500 person group with uh access to non-public ai from chat gpt right
like i can't disclose what it is or what it isn't but like i can just tell you that the capacities of
this stuff is far far far beyond your imagination and so to have the opportunity where a lot of people
have like resources of time and uh you don't need a lot of money but just like time and a little bit
of money and some expertise like having nft domain expertise it typically means that you're an early
adopter you understand learning acquisitions right you you're able to do something fairly complicated
that's high risk which is it go from a you know a coin best based type uh asset to a metamask it do a
seed phrase it get a hardware wall that's fairly complex if you're capable of doing that you're 100
capable of building a website with ai using ai and it the thing that i think is like
i don't mean this in a pedantic manner but like the reality is in the nft ecosystem today uh when
you look at the money and the time and like over two years not a ton of innovation like that has
happened there's a few people that execute very well from like a network effect standpoint meaning
like they can get an audience to listen to them and i think that's great but if you're very serious
about uh you know kind of helping yourself and your family from a financial standpoint and to be fair
that that is the reason i've always been in nfts is uh i i i think the technology was initially very
interesting i think i lost a little bit of the interest in the tech side but you know it's always
been a financial motivator in most things that i do um i still think there's relevancy to some of the
stuff in the niche stuff but it um but kind of gaming and ai i think those two categories are going
to be so powerful moving forward that yeah like you can spend a lot of days like uh debating stuffed
animal uh metrics and things like that but the reality is all these people are some of these people
are very very smart that are listening to this show and if you take your time and effort and put it
towards uh something that you can exponentially grow in you spend that same level of attention and
detail that you're talking about uh which word kevin said and put that towards your personal growth
i think you're going to see 100x better value i think you're going to personally be happier as a
human being and i think uh yeah i would highly encourage people to be looking at things that
have exponential upside not like a zero-sum game upside i like that i like that take um i do i do
want to also speaking of which and i agree with that like and i actually think everyone in this space to
your point should be looking at ai like they should be looking at ai and where it can fit in because
i think people who understand how to use ai but in a for their job are going to be not just more
productive not just better at their job but in demand as things start to come into come into play and
i know i tweeted that thing that you know anthony the worm had shared from um you know showing the
adoption rate and how to get you know to get to a scale of users and to see how quickly chat gpt has
done it people realize the power of this one thing i do want to address though because i do want to
address because i see gary um gary henderson in the comments he said uh because just you know and
this is going a little bit back to the drama but i do want to make this point where he said
so how is it different with me and chris nft bark and captain swingley me and chris sharing their
opinions daily sitting here and sharing your opinions of another founder is the same thing he
did you're both founders your own project so if a founder shouldn't comment why do you gary i'll
answer that number one we founded a media company this is literally what we founded like that's like
like it's different if you i would just add there's like go look at my past tweets like my tweets
would show like i and call me up and if it's not accurate i never discussed another project
negatively before hosting a show talking about the new the current news in web 3 right so now i feel i
have a duty to talk about i didn't want to talk about this at all today but this the community wanted
to go there so i feel a duty to provide my opinion on it's my opinion my opinion only it doesn't
represent that of dgen or anyone else but just as much as i am a founder i'm also the host
of a daily show that for you know a year and a half we've been talking about the space for five
days in a row but other than that i don't think you would ever see me speak publicly about another
project or another founder in any sort of negative light it's just not who i am i don't think it's
necessary i don't think it adds any value when others want to talk about it i'll chime in but i
agree with everything josh said i would much prefer to spend the whole morning talking about new cool
tools and things that we could be improving ourselves but unfortunately part of our role is we do have to
discuss what people want to talk about whether that's stuffed animals or founders saying things
that they they really don't have any i personally i don't have any expectation of a founder to actively
participate in social audio themselves or provide commentary on other projects or founders in this
space except for the faroques the nick and po's of the world the other media founders i absolutely have
that expectation of them but i don't have that expectation of any other non-media founders
also like i think a different nuance here would be well two things one we founded a media company so
this is our job so we do two find the clip of me talking any trash about faroque nick po any of them
you won't because i don't because i respect the builders and what they're doing and i certainly
wouldn't talk in an uneducated manner about it like find that you won't find that clip you won't find
that tweet so it's also i think extremely different because if i and also like two things i'd say like
one i'm not going to speak on an area where i'm not educated to the point where you know we talk about
not understanding the pudgy penguin ecosystem when he talked about it like i speak when i know things
and when i don't i ask the question and then i don't respond and when i respond to it people have
seen me literally on this stage be challenged by other people and i respond in kind right like like
people say like oh i disagree with your point and here's where you're wrong and i'm like you know
what great point i was wrong on some stuff with artifact and nike got brought up i changed my
mind live on a space in front of 200 people uh so i think there's that difference and that nuance to it
and look i'm just gonna say this because i don't say things like this very often i don't have a
you know ton of self-confidence in myself all the time but i'd say i'm probably a better
communicator than most people so i feel comfortable going on a space and having those conversations
in a way that i know i'm going to be proud of later on and if i am not i will own up to it
and i will make that point i'll make that point all day i'll make that point in tweets if i tweet
wrong or on the space if i do wrong i don't back it up in a way that is almost you know sort of
arrogant to a point so like yeah like i get what you're saying but like us talking about the space
is literally our job like we've hosted a show for you know a year and a half coming on two years it's
like that's what we do um so so i'd say that's the difference like i don't think it's hypocritical
for us as founders of a media company to talk about what's going on in the space that we found
the media company in which is web3 and tech and to josh's point totally down all day to talk about
a i think there's so much going on in ai and we should be talking more about those things and
look we do most of the time have those big picture conversations but you know when the
audience and people come up and contributors want to talk about things we talk about those things
and by the way i'm not i'm not faulting you guys like this is your job right like i'm more
preaching to the uh people in the audience here if this is occupying like a ton of your mental
bandwidth and like you know you hear uh xyz founder say something you don't agree with and
they have a track record of not being genuine like and that upsets you like maybe it's time to
take a step back and be like hey look like maybe i shouldn't expect a whole lot from this person
whoever that this person may be because uh the reality is i think a lot of people are really
expecting very honest very hard working very like and every time they don't get that it's like
this very high level emotional response you can tell like it just by voices people's adrenaline
is pumping it's like i mean it's okay to do that if you enjoy it and like you guys are
professionally doing that but the reality is for your average person out there to be sitting around
fucking listen to his face and then uh getting super upset because someone for the 300th time has
like done something that like you don't like it it just feels uh feels like a very uh downward spiral
yeah oh good sorry josh i was gonna say it reminds me it reminds me it reminds me of like
oftentimes when i see my facebook feed when it's election season and it's like i live in a swing
state of ohio so it's really bad but people arguing all day and it's like you're talking past each other
you're not convincing each other like like you know there's there's there's a lady
she disagrees with politically and then angrily shares them i'm like this seems not healthy mentally
go vote go get other people to vote try to talk to people in a reasonable fashion if you want but
arguing with people on the internet is a time that is not necessarily well spent so i i don't disagree
with you and i see it in politics and other things where you don't have a sort of locus of control over
what's happening but then you're getting very upset about it and i think it's okay and i think it's
fair but i also think it's it's an interesting point to say hey take a step back on top of like in web
three there's there's game changing technology ai is going to change every industry fundamentally
in many ways create new jobs and there is an opportunity to learn honestly about both those
things at a super high level um and then start to drill into where it fits into your day-to-day job
and i truly think anybody out here with a date any day job you can sit there and say this is where ai
can make me more efficient i mean even for me it's like i want to get back into shape
i thought i thought i rugged for a second and so i came to the back yeah me too i i was worried i
didn't hear i totally thought it was me i guess it was it was steve that rugged so he will be
right back um i'll just pick up one thing really quick where he was saying then i'll go ahead i'll
let anyone else speak uh kind of going off of where he got cut off of people having different
emotions and different thoughts like i i think that it's very good to just kind of take a step
back from things like i'll give a really simple example i like jam that's what steve was doing
he just he had had enough he got his point across and he's just taking a step back he'll be back
tomorrow yeah but i think you know jam's a great human being i i don't agree with his uh general
perception on some things but that's totally okay i'm not going to change his mind and there's so
much common ground on what's okay i'm intimidated by his ridiculously good looks as well well uh you
know whatever floats your boat i i respect how you feel um but that being said like uh you know
there's a lot of common ground and i think from there uh you know just be relating on a positive
manner is a lot better than trying to talk over each other so anyways that's it for me can i comment
on that i've been waiting for somebody to bring up ai and i'll be super quick before the subject
changes again so i got to mess around with uh adobe fire shop's new photoshop's update um the beta with
firefly and it is absolutely incredible like for anybody out there who is into any type of art or
graphic design i encourage you if you have a subscription to photoshop go download the new beta
and play around with its generative features i i posted a tweet the other day where i literally took
an image from mid journey and then just went and expanded it in all different directions
to like a bigger background to make it look like the city was bigger it literally looked like
an it's incredible so i love what ai is doing you're spot on i think the people that are not
playing with this it is beyond your imagination of what you can do the only example i can give and
this kind of dates myself is when email first came out my only reference for how to transmit
a written letter was you know a postage stamp and i was like okay like a postage stamp takes like
three to twelve days to get somewhere depending on where in the world so how fast is an email i was
thinking like oh maybe it'll be one day you send out gets there the next day to realize that you send
an email and like five seconds later it's anywhere in the world that level of game change from like
uh three days to five seconds that's the same level of disruption i see ai hitting so uh yeah
awesome point josh josh one thing before you go we we must know uh elise elite lsd actually
it's teddy we'll just go with the actual handle it's teddy ask where are you he's got to find you
where are you calling in from it sounds like you're calling in from the garden of eden
uh i'm outside new york so i don't know your your new york sounds a lot different than rigs is new
york oh so i mean the burbs out by new york it's uh like about an hour out but um yeah it's there's
a lot of birds out here it's like uh it's a very happy place the sun is shining they sound like
friendly birds too i'm gonna i'm inspired i'm gonna go take a walk around the block and and when i come
off you i we have like it sounds like attack birds here in florida i kid you not 50 percent of the
time i'm talking on the phone i talk and walk a lot and half the time like are you okay it's like
someone will ask because they think i'm getting attacked by these angry birds no no rovio is not
here these are very happy birds uh there's like bird feeders in my neighborhood you can hear them
uh like trying to mate with each other probably like a very uh good song if you were a female bird
maybe you really like that but uh yeah that's it um last animal mating story and then we can move
back to hands i'm really curious and excited to see where joe takes this but steve you've got a pool
have you experienced uh has your pool become uh a favored mating ground of any frog a bullfrog in
particular has that ever happened no no they're they stay clear of uh we have a automatic cover
thing that's like a light switch it goes on and off so we don't get them in the pool very often
we have had it happen on the cover if we've gotten rain before where we have a shitload of tadpoles
here's the alpha i should have definitely sold more of the top to sprung for the the pool cover
the lack of a pool cover it's probably now just jumped to like the very top of my priority wish
list um after having dealt with i guess frog mating season and one one particular little guy was
extremely loud every single night that's how they that's their mating call like instead of their
milkshakes bringing the the boys to the yard it's the boys call brings all the the female frogs and
um yes had to file an extra maintenance request with the pool guy and um it's just it's it's been
quite the start to spring summer here with uh you know with the frogs i mean it like to the point of
like like the research i've done on how to eliminate these things and and prevent them from coming back
is something i never thought i would have to do in my adult life cap as a fellow floridian we sprung just
to put a baby gate up because it was so inexpensive because we kept having iguanas frogs everything in
our pool especially the iguanas they would come in our pool when it was hot and they would shit in the
pool and they carry like dysentery and e.coli and you have to dump like two gallons of chlorine in the
pool and not go in it for 24 hours so instead of getting a pool cover we just put a baby gate up and
it was like i never got the i never got the like the bird cages that you see everywhere in florida
until now i just always thought it was like for bugs or birds i guess not realizing it no it's
actually for the other screened in patio you mean yep yeah yeah it's to keep it's to keep the the
iguanas the frogs the gators all that stuff out of your pool for the most part yeah we um when we
were putting in the pool my backyard's never felt like a derivative it's going in the hidden folder
yeah your your backyard is a uh a low effort uh a low effort pool derivative i mean we were when we
were screening for the pool back when i worked at nestle and all that when we were like it was a kind
of like a covid pool right like we wanted to like we couldn't go places i have some personal reasons
why i want to do it and frankly like it was actually one of those moments for me where it was like i
always like i put on a dream list when i was like 25 when i was like not even able to fathom what i
would do in my life one of the things i said on my sort of like this manifestation list i had which
is cool because i think i've actually done almost everything on that manifestation list and it was for
my life and i had done it by the time i was like 35 40 but like one of the things was a house with a
pool was something i always thought was the coolest thing growing up i wanted so it was like this dream
purchase that you wanted to have and when we were doing it the guy was like yeah there are these
automatic covers it's like a light switch where you have a lock box right so nobody can use your pool
unwarranted right these things can cover can handle like thousands of pounds of pressure and you
basically unlock this like lock box which has a light switch in it flip it up and it automatically
opens and automatically closes so every night and every day we close it and the only time we have
any shenanigans with frogs or anything is if it rains really bad and the pool cover has a ton of
water on it we don't bail it quick enough um but generally speaking it it was like honestly it was
like the most alpha investment i ever made because it wasn't incrementally that much more expensive than
getting a cover we'd have to put on and not having it open all summer is a is a dream so um that that's
our alpha especially because we live by these really sprawl these sprawling parks so there are
a bunch of rando animals that are running around uh kind of by our house um so with that said perfect
transition i'm sure joe wanted to talk all about frog mating so joe gm
well i do love frog mating um no i uh so you guys captain actually got me come up because he said um
zagabon and andrew and uh he had had me thinking about something else when he said uh whale and uh
elena but uh before that it's like pudgy you know luca and frank are gonna have different uh
relationships with the quote-unquote space than kevin luca's got two and a half million in it pudgy
of his own money right guy just raised nine million in the safe like that's not nine million hard money
that's what he got he got nine million in a safe so he'll get up to nine million they'll take up to
whatever the equity was i think was like 12 14 and that's what he's got going for him um frank you
know ordinals and the polygon move did more revenue for them than d gods mint youth mint uh their three
and a half million token three and a half million safe uh raise so like his relationship to the space
has to be a little bit more connected kevin got a big ass treasury over there like he doesn't really
need to be connected he don't need to be here um he did 10 million between the proof and the moonbird
mint uh and hard money which is more than either of those two have done so he's not going to be
connected very much like what josh said sort of like i don't need to be here if i want to um but
going back to azuki um and then community and then it's always like one or two people that get named
uh i mean mfers right so mfers have their five trade group uh faded is in that group you know
very accidental on his part like he says fade it's professional poker player real estate investor
former you know scout for the jets um smart guy he feels like he's the dumbest one in that group
and um you know that's like 16 people who got the mfr flag into the lows right um they're business
people and what does azuki have well the reason you haven't heard zagabon is because the zuki the
spirit dow basically told him to shut the fuck up like simple as that he was up there on that space
um you know 50 of them came together they realized that we were going to make a lot more money or have
better chances of doing licensing or whatever the hell he wanted to do uh if they pooled assets and so
they did an interview process basically like an application who's good at what okay you 35 you
guys are our fundraisers you guys are good with the money uh you 10 legal marketing pr and then you
five are basically the board and you run it and zagabon's up there putting his foot in his mouth
with andrew and they had already put a statement together and they basically pulled his ass after
the space ended and said look you're going to put this statement out you're not going to say shit
uh if you don't do it we'll floor it and we'll walk away we don't need it and what they've done
is they've basically run that dow and i hate dow's but they've run that dow like a corporation
and they're the brains behind the entire operation which is kind of what those 16 mfers have done
and trying to get stuff done so it's not like what you see forward facing is not what's happening
behind the scenes so is whale or elena getting uh reimbursed or compensated probably was that
zagabon's idea or you know a couple of the guys over there at azuki maybe maybe it came from the
dow i would love to know where it comes from now that you say that like do we know i'll just ask
but if anyone knows i'd love to maybe we just have them on here and talk about that role specifically
i think they'd be worthy of a good panel yeah whale's a good was a good talker you know um but like
that's you know they decided to run the thing like a company and um you know moomers have done
the council the council's like a like a year late right um see how much power they hand over to those
guys but that's them selecting people whereas with these two other groups you've seen those people
coalesce and select themselves and take roles and basically put themselves in a position where they
can say we have more skill sets than you because just because you can get a project minted doesn't
mean you know what to do with the project right we've seen that now with frank right i mean
who's who's down audience right now james right you guys know this james james wears you right now if
you're gonna put out sweatshirts and you got a guy like james in the audience and you got a guy like
james in your community why not drop him a fucking message and just say hey guy uh you know how to do
fashion i want to put out fucking sweatshirts let's have a conversation and that guy would have that
conversation with you not just because he's in your community but because he's part of the bigger
wider community and also he'd want to make sure that people got good fucking sweatshirts so just
because you can get some shit sold doesn't mean you know what to do afterwards and um what these
groups have done is that the people who have ideas and want to do things and have skill sets have risen
up so they may not be out there on the timeline and they might not be in the spaces talking all the
time but they've taken the power away and i think when you have concentrated centralized power
um you get problems and so you see with ponds like ponds is great but there's a lot of frogs out
there and the frogs are constantly supporting ponds but they all have ideas and they're able to talk to
ponds and ponds isn't too fucking egotistical to be like no no no no i'm the vision i'm the brain i'm
gonna do the thing and i think when you have that problem and people could say luca but again luca's got
two and a half million into the project he's got fudrick as his whale he's got a whole bunch of
fucking pudgies i mean the quiet pudgies like dow are still brilliant fucking people so that's how i
look at it and i don't think that it's i think it's oversimplification to say if they just got one
person if they got lacos and rigs to talk more uh this whole thing would be cleaned up kevin would
still be kevin he'd still go out there and he'd say shit that didn't need to get sent and you'd still
have jam or whoever come up and try to defend kevin explain to us what kevin meant and it's like we
don't need a translator i i got fucking ears right i mean i i've done shit i heard what he said
i'm pretty fucking good with english so that's what i'm saying for the record though dow is the
best pudgy stout stout fucking rocks and when he wasn't on that chart i actually just like dm luca
was like what the fuck man so um but you know that was a quiet one funny thing is you probably
sent him that exact dm i did i did i like luca i like luca a lot i don't have a pudgy
i've had some conversations with luca um i first met him on racist stage and i did i sent my nose
like what the fuck right like but you know dow doesn't go out there and do you know silly shit
that you know dow's a real one you know he'll come in he'll build your whole fucking entertainment um
like arena for you he'll get all that done but he's not gonna go and write a thread about it
so he needs to promote himself more yeah it it's it's it's your point like it's having people
in i think it can't it is oversimplifying and i don't mean it as like hire one single person like
i think you need a shift in sort of strategy overall in how you communicate things which we
talk about all the time but i do think it's beneficial to say if you are again i'll i'll say
what i said earlier i think kevin is wicked smart i think he sees the bigger picture of things really
really well and i think that's why when he's on the tim ferris show or he's on joe rogan or those
bigger shows he represents in a very respectful manner and it makes sense and i think that that
is if i were advising that is the role that i would say like continue to play that because
you're going to be cheered on by the larger space in that role right but having those individual
community leaders whether they are official or unofficial board api comes very lucky in the sense
that and when i say lucky i know they've worked together or whatever but they're lucky in the
sense that they just have community leaders who do it for them and they have people who
but for the record if daniel or garg or anyone ever listens back to the recording
um we can be bought like there's a number oh yeah there's i am not above being paid by by you if they
decide that they want to toss a bag at us and be like you represent us totally happy with that
but um but yeah to your point like they have like me and capcom here every morning with eight pfps
so that works for them right but like other places do hire community leaders like we said
you just gave the example we don't know who made the decision and i don't think it matters actually
in the context of the fact that zagabon went on that andrew wang space and looked he came across
terrible right and then the the community said issue this apology they did to your point and then
they had community leaders who led them and having someone with a moonbird pfp who consumes the news
goes to spaces helps with communicate like that is a role that would help them just like it has
other people not everybody's luca he's an extremely talented communicator and like you said very
invested the brand that everybody is frank um and i think again if i rolled out a ceo of like
any of the companies that i led communications for and they had it doesn't matter if the entire
hour was really really good if there are two bad soundbites where you know if we were progressive
and i rolled out our cmo and he was trashing geico and not doing it accurately with all the
information or said it in a way that maybe came across poorly um and then did it like then and then
went ahead and trashed all say too like that would not go over well even if the rest of it was really
substantial so there's just ways to sort of handle it and it's like that i think is the thing we're
kind of it's figuring out your your role what you're good at and then placing people in the right
place to succeed is is what you want and it's like look i have a moonbird i love the community
i love the group i want them to succeed but i know it's like tough when jam has to come on here to your
point and say like you know and again i'm not i'm not picking on jam when i say this i think he
understandably is like i have a different perspective and here's why and i think jam's a very thoughtful
person in the sense that he's saying look the overarching like principle of it is fine like here's why it
doesn't bother me can you guys hear me can i jump back in here yeah go ahead no like what i'm saying
is i don't understand why everybody is up in arms right i the the guy just talked like
candidly right like because because it's because but i but here i can i can i can get you that like
i mean that's the point like and again you don't agree on this the reason everyone is up in arms
is because he in one instance mentioned like literally the number one leader project in the
space and was making even if it's an offhanded comment he said he regretted he's like i'm sorry
i shouldn't have said it this way but like as a leader of a company you can't say that like
that's the point like you can't or shouldn't say oh well dollar for dollar they're down less than us
and by the way omitting all of the information whether it's the airdrops whether it's the things
they've shipped whether i mean you name it like there are things that were missed from that perspective
and also like if you ran the numbers like candidly i bet you that the majority of moonbirds holders are
probably under water that's fine and the majority of board apiacal quarters are probably up and so
there are nuances to a conversation that when you say that it's like if you are you know the again
i'll use an example if you're the 10th largest insurer and you talk about how much better you
are than progressive or better than geico like it's not going to land well so like people are
not thrilled with the comments that seem tone deaf and not really tied to the market i don't think that
you can have an honest conversation about this space in any sort of intelligent way when everybody
else is allowed to bring up every floor price and you know metrics nobody else is no nobody's
doing it though like or if they do it they do it he said we just talked about it he he talked about
why the pudgy penguins toys aren't getting people onboarded and then learned hours later that they
actually are and was like oh that was bad like that's not an honest conversation that's making a
comment about another company that's competitive in your industry and not being fully informed on it and
then learning later that it was like oh there is a difference here and i think it's like people seeing a
founder that feels disconnected from the overall micro environment while having a great macro
perspective and like it may not resonate with you but like i i haven't seen other founder luca didn't
luca was on here friday for an hour and a half he talked i don't zero about other projects in a negative
way right like or or had those commentaries about other projects like and i think that but luca has
talked about other projects before it just and on that spaces he wasn't talking about other projects
and my point is is that i don't think kevin thinks and he's entitled to his opinion that
onboarding people through toys is the way that he wants to go he could be absolutely 100 wrong
but what he's saying in the spaces that he did uh do was that but he said it without the information
jam that's the point he learned later on as i think it was joe mentioned he learned later on so he was he
was incorrect in his assessment without the information that's the problem like no but he he did he is
he's saying that he like the idea the premise of that is not worth exploring for him right and he
doesn't have to know all the facts about pudgy penguins he could just say that i want to jump
in here i think jams changed my mind i i have a self-own myself or correct myself from earlier
especially my response to gary citing that well you know not having the expectation of these
founders project founders to to always be public facing because they're not a media founder
and it just like hearing jam talk it hit me that like prior to moonbirds there prior to proof even
there was modern finance there was proof podcast so i guess in that sense this is my my correction is
like kevin is very much a media founder you know a founder of a media brand and you know therefore
he certainly has this right to share opinions i i think maybe just my perspective of and i guess
opinion of him as a leader and the role he he's filling in the space is not one that it continued
on as that even i guess even on like proof broadcast now it's it seems like it's much more like like sam
and derrick that are that are really in the weeds and kevin has moved more into like the the macro
analogy which is good to steve's point several times but i just i wanted to correct that like i guess
he is very much so a founder of a media brand and you know like us has certainly all the right to
share opinions and thoughts and commentary on the space exactly yeah but i think but i think sharing
an opinion even when you're sharing an opinion you should have an informed opinion that's the issue
and that's that's the crux of it right yeah i don't care if he wants to like he can talk about
i don't agree with it but he has the right he has the right to talk about pudgy penguins and yuga labs
it's freedom of speech do whatever you want but i think my con my issue was it like i said
is that when he got on the thread guy space and the pudgy holder explained everything to him he was
like oh i had no idea that this is all that was happening this makes more sense now right like that's
to me that's the thing is like if you're going to have an opinion have an informed opinion but i i
think that categorically if you sat down and just if you started the conversation from zero with kevin
you said kevin what do you think the uh the access point for uh continued growth in the space and what
what does nfts lend itself to do you think it'd be toys or do you think it'd be ai if you have to bet
on one of those without knowing anything but that's a false choice that's a false choice jam it can be
either and i think it's okay for him to say that's not true it's a completely false choice i'll explain
how it's not you have you have a zero-sum game in terms of where you need to allocate capital and so
that's in business decisions making a choice about what you're going to do with time which is a finite
resource and money which is essentially a finite resource is uh is a zero-sum game and you need to
place bets which means that you need to have conviction in one or the other so uh ultimately
like in a pure sense i agree with what you're saying steve but um i i get what you're saying to
me philosophically which is that both can be successful but in terms of running the project
practically speaking only you can only really choose one i mean unless you wanted to do a
blended perspective but i like let's not even get into that like uh but but kevin it sounds to me
if you just like call it jennifer jennifer thinks that if you do x it's better than doing y and they
don't know about y because they just categorically think that that's not the direction for them because
they see a lot of promise in x and so they might not know all of the metrics uh the data points the
all the other things that come out from exploring you know why because they have they just believe
that x is the better point of view and the better strategy and so on and so forth i'll leave it at
this because i think you're you have a different perspective and i respect that and i think that's
totally fair i think i guess what i would say is one i would say the reaction of the space today as
well as yesterday with thread guy and stuff probably lends itself that there are other people who maybe
have a different perspective than you and that's okay you're allowed to have a different perspective
than them too even the proof discord would would say that right and that's okay like you're you're
allowed to have your opinion nobody can tell you what your reaction to something is and i think it is
1000 fair my reaction is a little bit differently on how i would personally have handled it
and what i took from that whether they're clips out of context or not and i've been clipped out of
context before i get it um but especially when you're a lightning rod like it's just to me the
commentary itself with all things considered is a tough look and it puts your community like yourself
in a tough place where you are now in here you know again like almost to some degree
understandably playing i don't think anything you're saying is wrong i think you are translating
in a manner that makes sense for a lot of people but i think the way things are delivered
matters and i think that is something that is coming across today in the reaction and yesterday
in the reaction so i think that that's what and so i think your opinion is valid you are allowed to
totally feel that way and say hey this doesn't bother me but it bothered enough people that there
comes a point where if you are doing things that bother a lot of people on a semi-regular basis it is
probably time to evaluate why that is instead of saying well everybody else is wrong even if they are
you know like there's something to be said about how you deliver certain things and you're not
bothered by it and you're saying i want my leader to do this i think that is fair and you are allowed
to feel that way but i think everyone else is allowed to feel the opposite way as well so i just
think it's okay like and i think it's probably worth kind of putting a pin in it just because it's
like i don't think we're going to agree on that particular topic um i'm just trying to tell you
why people disagreed with it and i understand you're giving the other perspective of why you
don't disagree with it but i but i think that there's a informed conversation to be had there
relative to it so i that's what i think is going on there um yeah i yeah no i i mean i'll let you
i i kind of don't want to say i think you guys get what my point of view my point of view is i think
he's allowed to have an opinion i think he part of his career and part of his persona is having an
opinion i think that um he i think there is a little bit of a grab here in my opinion reaching down
and trying to like twist a little bit of what he said into a bad way i do understand the other side
of it where it's like well he wasn't informed on these things and he's it sounds like he you know
flip-flop or like was like oh yeah then that is cool that is good uh i i don't know i i see it as
i don't know i don't see it as i see it as like a non-issue um and uh yeah i don't know i'm done
talking yeah thanks for thanks for letting me jump back in here absolutely it's totally fair and i don't
like i always want you to be comfortable on this stage sharing your opinion and not worry about
anything that anybody's up here because i i don't think i don't purport to be right all the time i
don't think i am right all the time i have corrected myself in front of 200 people on a stage and said i
was wrong so like i am totally comfortable and i appreciate you jam you know as a friend as a
person who comes on this stage regularly and i love that you bring and you feel comfortable
bringing the other side of it and having that conversation so i just want you to understand like
when we go like have these conversations like i want you to come up and i want you to push back
and i want you to bring that perspective so thank you for that i get it dude and i'm here for that
i'm not here you know just to echo each other i'm here to give you my opinion and through that we will
find the the the things that are valuable which is the conversation and you can really only find
those valuable things by having that conversation yeah absolutely and to your point by the way pin in
your point like i don't think it makes sense for proof to go on board people through toys so
you're right like i mean that's actually at the crux of it no doubt about it it's not on brand
doesn't make sense it does for pudgy so that's totally fair and that's kind of the point there
um i think dave are you back by the way i was going to dave and then i realized i got rugged the reason i
got rugged is that the painters have unplugged my internet so today's going to be interesting with
all my meetings we're going to figure out how to do them all through mobile but dave go ahead and
get in here uh sorry if i kind of rugged you earlier when i was thrown to you no worries gmgm i actually got
rugged at the same time you did so are you in my house dave those calls are coming from inside the
house yeah i'm in the backyard um so so anyways great conversations today i mean from everyone
josh joe jack joey you know jam everything a couple things i want to start off quickly about ai and i just
wanted to say something quickly like i totally agree with the comments that were made before
like ai is massive if you're not playing with it do it a lot of people who know who i do what i do
i'm telling you there's stuff coming that you are not going to believe in terms of what's next around
ai um it's and and even just what's available right now it's just it's it's it's it's definitely
game-changing life-changing it's going to change the world as we know it over the next five over the
next five to ten years it's just going to be dramatic um so totally agree with all those comments
that were mentioned around ai i'm specifically interested in how ai is going to impact nfts and this
whole space in web 3 i think kevin did mention that which is great to see and i'd like him to
focus on that now in terms of the other comments like i have to say that like everyone knows i'm a
big k row fan proof and team that being said though this weekend i think wasn't a good look like i have
to say i agree with steve what you talked about in terms of just they absolutely desperately need
uh a spokesperson someone with communication skills uh you know director of communications
whatever it is who's just going to own that because i totally agree that kevin has the right
to say whatever he wants to say but more often than not whenever he does it it doesn't land well
okay whatever it is you know agree or disagree and there's you know it is what it is and i and i get
like kevin like i know he doesn't intend some of these things and you you often don't get to have
enough of the conversation like i'm sure there's a good intent there but for whatever reason and you
know he's not versed or whatever like to your point steve steve like he needs to have like if he
doesn't already have like handlers who sort of help prepare him for the space and for what's going on
um when he does talk but he should speak more macro he should focus on the strategic direction of the
company um and and really make sure that everyone is hitting on all cylinders and just focus on the
overall direction and north star of of proof in my opinion i just feel like not everyone
is meant to have those kind of conversations like luca and frank and whatever the case may be
um and i honestly feel like they should invest some money i know they have a 17 year runway
take some money i don't care reduce it by one year or two years because i'm telling you like that is
huge right now they need someone um who is who's going to be dedicated to to be in the spaces be in the
space um you know in general and just be able to just have those conversations and do the research
and and and be able to ensure that the sentiment is is is positively received because right now i just
feel like when he was on that thread guy space like i have to tell you like i was a little surprised
like there's a lot of people providing him with recommendations and he was very apologetic
apologetic even too much so in my opinion and and and some of these people were knowledgeable but
there was a bunch who like they have no they've never they've never started an nft project they've
you know they've not you know launched companies before and i'm like you know like who are you to
make these recommendations i mean it doesn't make any sense and he's apologizing for it i just felt
like it wasn't a good show like it was just not a good weekend in general for from a communication
point of view so i really hope they um they fix that because of my opinion i love everything else i like
the direction i like the team i just feel that's one area that consistently becomes a weak point
um and it's a waste of energy and time like these conversations or this drama it's like it's not
interesting i'll be honest with you for me and probably for a lot of people and it's not going
to move the space forward let's just eliminate that and focus on what really matters so that's my
two take i would like to have bunch you join us like at some point in the near future to give
everyone on this space a download on everything he's learning in ai bunch who has been creating a
bot to mimic himself he is somebody who is completely informed on this and dave i know
you're you're down on that i'm pretty sure half the responses i get from him now via text or it's ai
bunch yeah i'm like i'm like that's not bunch you i i you know he's in a group chat that got
gets a little squirrely from time to time and i think he's just said it on the ai bunch version
yeah no it's it's and it's like but like dave like yourself bunch you others like i would love to
just have like a day where we just like deep dive ai in general because i think josh is right
josh can come on and do it i would love to have that group of people and almost have like an un
sort of like i mean maybe if needed like we'll regulate the stage but almost like a unregulated
stage conversation where people can kind of pop in unmute and jump in with ai and if we need to use
hands we will but i would love to have that conversation as well to your point because i actually
don't mind these conversations because i think it's good to talk about the direction of of you know the
pfp market where we're going and all that stuff um but we do like to have those macro ones a lot of
times we have those big macro use cases and what they are i think ai is one that we're overdue for
and having a really intelligent like round table did you guys remember the voice from uh the daily dose
he created uh a whole twitter page for an ai um that comes up on stage during spaces and actually
interacts during the spaces and he's like trying to like he's continually like adding to it it's
pretty crazy he would come up it would come up during zen daily and like you would talk to it
it listens you talk to it and it would respond to you it's pretty sick he's like in the name of that
bot joey vowels bum bum bum reveal uh but no it's um i think it'll be good to have that conference
again i don't mind this stuff as much as most um but i do think it's and i also think it's good to
like bring these to the macro discussions because like we're talking specifically about something
that happened with proof over the weekend but i think this becomes a problem in general and we
just heard i mean a great example when you know warp joe comes up here and tells us about what
happened with the zuki where he's like zagabond failed you know his blog sucked his spaces was a
disaster the floor price fell by like 20 eth or something insane or what a 10 eth or whatever it was at
the time or thousands tens of thousands of dollars and basically his holders are like shut up
you know let's do this he put out an apology thread tweet which was actually a really well
done apology which would have been great in the first place and then since then we've sparsely
heard from him and his community has taken the lead and that's worked and so we've seen
where this has worked before i mean azuki people thought azuki was dead after that zagabond space
i thought azuki was dead after zagabond space i'm like this can't pop my mind's kind of blown
now that i'm playing this back and connecting some of these dots and the the azuki character arc and
and everything that's transpired since that space and and how joe i think connected some other dots
in my head and now coming to the full realization that this researcher in residency is is kind of
like the new evolved director of vibes role just it's it's it like it's been months for me to come
to that realization and the fact that that may have been brought on by like the spirit dow or the
community itself or just even if there was a you know a quote-unquote gag order um community led it's
like already knowing that azuki community was strong like my my respect for that that group of this is
if this has transpired even half the way i think it might have it's just it's it's leveled up for sure
yeah i pinned i pinned her up top she's called victoria victoria hosts she's uh an ai spaces host if
anybody wants to check it out it's pretty and if you're going to do that ai space i would definitely bring
him on and have him bring her on it's pretty crazy no that is that is wild and it's super interesting
and like yeah and like even to your point cap though like even large brands starbucks has and
i know it's community starbucks has myself you know everyday john uh suarez and chris hoddle
being a face and a voice of the community them even more so than me and bunch you and like
you know in the discord having those conversations being like a front-facing thing where people aren't
like a couple people have asked they don't know the difference between us and starbucks even though
we don't actually work for starbucks right like we we we are consulting with forum three who's
consulting with starbucks but like they don't know the difference and it doesn't matter and it's
created a positive we've gotten comments about where they've tagged like all of us like oh sponge
morgan you know uh chris and suarez and john have been like hey thank you guys so much like this is like
you know a pleasant experience like whatever and it's like we create that because starbucks
doesn't need to send in their vp of loyalty or howard schultz into the discord to go try to
handle the community or kind of make those commentaries right so like as a brand they
get the communication stuff and they understand the importance of it they see the value there
and it's like hats off because they're a forward-thinking brand who always seems to get this
stuff ahead of everybody else and it's like this this is a and that's why again in this book i like
i read a section of the book this morning which i can't now read because my internet's gone so i won't
read it back but like the whole idea of enforcing community and having people hired into those roles
like a director of vibes and you know a you know chief culture officer or chief experience officer
those things become critical zappos i remember zappos i'll give you a great example tony shea was
great but zappos had a guy who literally was their chief culture officer the guy went around the
country speaking at different like events and things like that he would go on you know tony shea was
the big macro guy and then their chief culture officer i'd never seen this before at the time
this is like you know probably like i don't know why i was at my pr firm i think so this would have
been like you know 15 years ago or something it's like a chief culture officer comes out and is
speaking to people because tony shea can't clone himself and he's running the company he's got all
the things going on and when they have big macro announcements out rolls tony shea but when they
wanted to talk about you know anything to do with the company and talk about how it works and
give commentary on the space the market in general chief culture officer roll them out and i think
like that is such a valuable role that we're learning forget proof like throw that out the
window every single one in this every single project in this space could you doodles needs it
right i love doodles you know i like it was funny phonics mentioned because phonics is a moon bird and
a doodle like when someone talked about moon birds and doodles he's like i feel very attacked by this
it's like doodles needs it you know apes may evolve to the place where even they need it as they
continue to scale because right now they're hiring really really top tier talent but it may not hurt
to have somebody in that role for apes right like every sort of pfp brand in this space could
have the value of somebody who just goes and represents them well wearing their pfp dressed
to them chief culture officer he's a zappos guy everyone knows the zappos guy when the zappos guy
comes in he's going to talk zappos to some degree you're seeing with on chain monkey and mike right
good things came on this space unprompted unrelated to anything else just came up to chat
and represent an on chain monkey in the best way possible we sat there and we're like wow he's
educated he's informed he knows the project he knows the community he's talking about ordinals
danny yang can talk about ordinals all day long he can talk about the history of bitcoin
and he does and he does really well in spaces so does amanda terry but amanda terry is the busiest
woman i've ever seen in my life her operations that she does right bill tie is a bc investor that has
all these different things he's chasing down danny yang is the chief sort of coder as good
a dev as anybody also is leading a major project so mike's gone to spaces and he crushes right and
so like you see that and what's happened on chain monkey's floor i know we don't like hey we're
talking about floor price whatever on chain monkey's floor is held up better than any it's gone up more
and it holds and sustains and look what they've done they have mike deployed they don't need danny
going on to space danny doesn't need to show up on this space and talk amanda doesn't need to
they do we talked on chain monkey one day but like we've had mike on multiple times he just pops
in and says hi we had an audiogram from the other day just because he he had such a banger of a clip
so it's like that role in that function whatever that is and look also again not to just like throw
flowers on chain monkey's way but like mike wasn't in that role mike was a on the like development team
and they recognized him first he was a community member who had a successful job who loved on chain
monkey then he got hired to the team and worked there and then they recognized his skill and his
talent and gave him another role like that is the core evolution of what an nft project should be doing
and thinking of so it's not it's not a proof thing it's not a kevin rose thing even though it is today
it continues to be a space thing where it's like that role is a new job classification like when you
have thread guy going on if telly labs does a space and thread guy runs on and runs it i'm going
he represents he represents the company he represents jenkins and i and i buy it and when
i see him i think about jenkins and when i talk to him i think about jenkins when i saw him at vcon
and hung out i thought about jenkins it's like he's always there so like i just think that those roles
are so critically important across the board and it's not just communications it's a it's a thing it's
a vibe it's a culture it's experience it's whatever those things are find someone in your community
who rocks your pfp who wears it proudly who does that really well or hire someone to do it right
like that that's sort of the thread guy is the same thing they hired director of vibe so
anyway end rant uh jack you've been waiting for a little bit then we'll go back to joe i did hear
thread guy is is uh multitasking as also like the director of fashion at uh in in azarbala so
take that for what it's worth he's the no no he's uh he's the he's the dom the director of mullets
actually uh he's quite good at it um i don't know if you saw the pants by the way i don't know if
like thread guy has does have so much fashion dude like rolls up i saw him at vcon from mile away i'm like
i see those pants it can only be thread guy just these shenanigans crazy has anyone been memed more
in the space than thread guy no and he's all he's down for it he retweets all of them he gets it but
he was wearing like you know those zumbas that like bills fans wear that people in the 80s oh yeah
that's actually the best way to describe those pants is it's what bills fans wear yeah he rolls
up in the zumbas or whatever and like i just see him and i'm like if i wore those pants people would
ask me what 1994 pajama party i'm going to but yet thread guy rolls up like too legit to quit steve yeah
exactly i'd just be like hammer dancing all over and then we see thread guy we're like hey man this
guy's got some got some sauce man look at look at the rizz on this fella and it's like that's that
by the way is that i was today's days old when i realized what rizz actually meant was that the
most boomer thing i ever said to him like hey fella look at the rizz on this fella like that's like the
oldest thing i can say i can't do it uh my kids do get annoyed though actually as a side note to bring
some levity my daughter i'm definitely incorporating rizz into a conversation with my 16 year old as soon as
oh my daughter was saying something and i said like i can't remember what i said i said something
that was like a line that like like like a kid phrase and then she was like daddy stop and i was
like on god fam and i just repeated it and she's just like oh my god i hate you i was driving yesterday
when we were on the show i was driving her and her friend to the beach first time her friends ever hung
out around me and on the show i come off mute and all i say is money printer go burr it was during
jake's menify update and they both like especially referred like laughed out loud i'm sure it was
directed at me not with me but she laughed out loud at my my money printer go burr comment like
completely with no context imagine like completely silenced i just got these airpods in and then i
come off mute and i just say money printer go burr yeah you got to be like on god fam i got to get the
tea or something you know what i mean just like kind of go go down that route but um anyway um that's
that's that's neither here nor there uh but that's uh that's our also also rizz
definitely did not quite fully understand the meaning of of the slang term rizz which is
actually a skill in charming or seducing a potential romantic partner especially through
verbal communication yes i like that you just went uh the definition of it instead of just being like
someone's got like swagger game you're like you're like the uh ability to impress a potential partner
um anyway uh but jack uh go speaking of rizz jack has all the rizz get in here jack
the next sentence actually says it's typically used in the exact same way the older slang term
game was used fantastic how am i supposed to follow this and i can assure both of you i have zero rizz
like ask my partner like the the cringest like story of how we ever met which was live in a bar
even though you know that just doesn't happen this this time around uh look i i think it's been a
hilarious conversation and then like quite a sad one as well we've really went like full emotional
like roller coaster on this this chat today i've been crying both uh in laughter and also in just
like fuck are we ever going to learn as a space but i i think i want to touch on the ai part which is
if people aren't using chat gpc especially because it is like beyond anything else like it just it if
you're using anything else and thinking oh i'm not sure about ai people are really it's just it's
not the same thing it just isn't like so and definitely give that a go for the 20 bucks that
it would be for a month but the the specific thing i wanted to say around this is look if you're in this
spaces right now like chances are you want to do something in web free like i just i don't believe
anyone who is here right now doesn't actually want to be in web free because why the fuck are you
listening to us right it just it just doesn't make any sense and if that is the case and you sort of
know where your niche is or where your expertise is but a you can ask ai that you can ask it like
where exactly should i sit within this space what what career would suit me and give it a list of
like what you love what you love in web 2 but then what you really want to do and this is taken from
the riz king himself frank to gods um who you know is just a master if you didn't hear him speak on
overpriced jpegs where he announced that he has basically put all the information from d gods from
youths into chat gpt and asks it to role play a angry holder so that he can almost circumvent the
com side did you see this cap by the way i i out of curiosity i saw he created fud bots yeah
yeah unbelievably smart the ai red team yeah i agree so smart brain giga giga brain so like there's
your context okay well actually to be fair kevin doesn't need that because he has cap so actually
he has his ai i'm kidding i'm kidding i just again for the record in case you missed it like to get
both sides of my story i physically am rocking my my moonbirds dad hat today so i i will uh i will
give credit where credit's due it's it's a the hack fitted to fit fitted fit fitted to my head very
well mike elf did walk up to me vcon i didn't tell you this he goes he just looked at me and he said
something like is this guy fucking kidding me it's a troll right i'm like i'm like no no no it's a
good hat yeah and i think no i i think he actually took offense to me wearing it like i like i think
he like he had an urge to like rip it off my head and not allow me to wear the the burbs dad hat
amazing uh sorry he's like you don't earn you you earn that hat cap don't deserve this sir yeah anyway
go go ahead jack finish then we'll keep going handsome that that was incredible i love the fact that cap
is like just outraging moonbed holders left and right even irl just by wearing an item of clothing like
that's that's levels right there cap you've you've definitely got the riz um look i i what i was
going to say is like what frank also mentions if you are interested in a career in web3 or you know
just playing about in this sort of space a little bit more deeply than you currently do then what you
want to do is you want to ask chat gpt what to do and you want to speak to it as if it is the smartest
person in the room sure you can do prompts and you can do all these things and to to try and get
the most out of it but what's very very effective is saying this is what i want to do for a career
what should i do what steps should i take and then just continuously iterating on that point
like just keep delving further and further in like give me a five-year plan what specifically do i have
to do to get into the side of it and if you don't think that's effective or you you don't believe that
that will work for you in the two months that i've been sort of applying this i have actually
proposed a project to one of the biggest communities in the space one of the biggest nft projects in
the space um which is being accepted and that was purely through iterating through chat gpt
and then i was reached out to last week to see if i would be interested in a community manager role
so and those two things came from me asking it right how do i get involved in this space and it
feed them back okay how about you create content about the things that interest you which for me
is how web free businesses can actually navigate the space in the current narrative and that's that's all
you really need to do is speak to it as if it is the smartest person in the industry that you want to
get into and it'll do the rest honestly just trust me go and give it a try and yeah if if the feedback
alone like what why should should i then if that isn't feedback enough because i can say some dumb
shit but here i am with two great opportunities um so you can too and i'm done talking see this is
what i'm talking about like this is a that is that is fucking alpha right there it's like using chat gpt to
ask here's my skill set plug in your resume and be like what can i do in web three it's going to be
able to answer you right it's going to be able to do that um or if you're in the space hey like
similarly hey chat gpt uh should i talk shit about board apes when my floor is very down it probably
just would answer you no um i'm kidding again joking levity but like point is like you can use it for
that functionality right like it's it's there is an opportunity like that's what's great about it like
when i said earlier if you're trying to do something and you can't think of a prompt you can
ask it what prompts to ask it and it will give you the prompts to ask it right so it will actually
direct you in that way and like i said i've used it in a few different ways so far i'm going to
continue to use it um you know for various things and what's amazing is the creative ways we can do it
like i said can't wait to help bunch you and some other folks up here to be chatting um you know all
things you know ai because he's deep deep in that world and is absolutely crushing it and again for me
personally i probably have a larger scope of understanding of ai than the average human
being but way less of a scope than i want to have and it's it's something that i am dedicated and
committing to uh to diving back in on jack i'll let you get back in here quick before you go joey
then dyla yeah just one more piece of ai alpha that i've taken from a frank the god space this wasn't
him but definitely something i think that he does uh from his response to it which is also give it
almost a like rule book so whatever you're trying to do if you are noticing that it is continuously
like giving you like a certain element of like okay i really don't need this or the way it's
speaking to you you keep having to iterate and say no i mean this i need mean this if you at any point
just go hi chat gpt here is a rule i don't want this anymore i don't want you to give me if you're
giving me content ideas please remove all the hashtags i don't want you know whatever that
might be if you actually set them as specific rules that it cannot disobey it stops like for good so
that that's another one like even like almost like i i don't know you know like you've sort of your 10
like a essential rules of like this this is what i need you not to do all i need you to do
and and it just it stops the continuous prompts that you would have to set up otherwise because
otherwise for some reason it just doesn't seem to retain the lesson sometimes and that's a way to
just completely mitigate that and you know not waste all of that time constantly reiterating
the same points because i know that can be a problem yeah sounds like jack so i was i was doing
that same thing with chat gpt i was trying to generate a certain type of image of dale 2 and uh i
didn't know how to do it because i was not a prompt artist and i was using chat gpt and it worked quite
well and to jack's point i had to do exactly what it said i was like all right but do this like you
know just basically speak to it like you know just make rules i i think it's fascinating and
brilliant the way that it works but um i just want to throw that anecdote in there yeah it's it's it
sounds like chat gpt is far more effective than i as a parent i would feel empowered because my kids
don't listen when i give them specific rules even if it's one single rule but like chat gpt i can give
it a single rule it'll never disobey it again i would feel like i actually know what i'm doing as a
parent then um joey let's get you in here and then we'll go dial and then we'll go up to felix and
we'll probably probably start winding now go ahead joey i i pinned up a a video on from instagram on
nvidia and their new ai tech that they're using for video games um it's pretty pretty insane if
anybody wants to take a look at it i uh i wanted to comment on something jack said and then also dave
um so dave mentioned how you know people were in the spaces giving all this advice and suggestions
and you know and they've never launched businesses or or or launched projects or things like that
and i would i would push back on on dave and say there's probably more people than we know in this
space that have the experience to give that advice if people took the time to maybe look at what they've
done versus their follower count or the price of their pfp um i i i've met so many people in this
space that care about this space and generally want to help and they have a thousand followers and
some 0.01 pfp and people don't even give them the time of day and we've talked about this before on
you know starting to value people for what they've done versus you know how many likes and follows they
have so to jack's point like and it piggybacks into what jack said where like if you if you really
want to work in this space and you feel like you have the experience and the knowledge right you have
to formulate a plan on how to go for it like for me you know i got i was offered a position with a
project because i took the time when we talked about this versus fud versus criticism or feedback you
know i took the time to write up a like a feedback with suggestions on what i felt like they could be
doing to improve and grow as a project and it was received incredibly well and after so many zoom calls
and phone calls and texts it turned into a position as well so i you know to to piggyback off jack like if
you want something go and get it but and and ask chat gpt for help if you don't know what to say
right like ask it hey this project's struggling on social media how can i tell them they're struggling
on social media and tell them about my experience with social media so that way it could potentially
turn into a position as their social media manager right there's a there's a lot you can do with
chat gpt and then to piggyback off what dave said again i think founders need to be more open
to what the suggestions that people are giving them even if they don't have the experience because
at the end of the day to steve's point community is right now in the current market community is what's
holding some of these projects afloat so if you're getting feedback from your community and even if it's not
your community if it's just random people in the nft space right like they genuinely if they're taking
the time to give you constructive feedback if it's not just like you're a fucking asshole right like you
don't know what you're doing if it's constructive feedback they should be listening because it probably
will help them oh and dancing eddie taught me what riz means like two weeks ago so i also didn't know
what riz meant like two weeks ago this is the oldest boomer space ever to space this is the
i also learned what riz meant two weeks ago so i am cool um no it's it's yeah i think there's a lot
of people who have a lot of different skill sets in this space and i think it's interesting to see
where they where they net out and i think you're right i think there's valuable feedback can get
around i think to your point there's there's like this boundary of like is it valuable feedback which i
think there's a lot of or is it somebody who's just mad because you know again using this example
as the weekend but not like again we're talking overarching here and the opportunity for things
like you know uh chief culture officers like zappos had years ago we're talking you know director of
vibes like thread guy and what he does does there or like you name it right like that particular type
of job is something that exists on the whole um but this weekend i'm sure there were people who
you know just heard him say the word apes and they got really mad because they mentioned the
eights floor price which didn't bother me in the slightest it's sort of the to me it was this
overarching context of feeling disconnected from the micro environment again totally cool but when
you have somebody who can talk macro environment get the macro environment out there use them for
their strengths have them be cheered and you know praised for that and then have somebody else who can
kind of go micro for you that feels like they're the representative of the brand um let's go down to
dial a gm dialer no good sorry real quick those positions you mentioned are not new
right like the titles are new but for as long as i can remember for like 20 years there was always
somebody in hr that was responsible for organizing the company picnic or right like so these chief
culture officers or whatever you want to call them it's not like a new concept but i think the the
titles have just ever evolved and i think they're crucial um when you're looking at like how do you want
to build your community yeah i would i would argue it is new in the sense that it's probably a nuanced
version of something that didn't exist right like when i was at you know nestle we had and we did a
release of a product i had my you know di giorno you know director who would talk to one media outlet
i would have my vice president of pizza and snacking which i still contend is the coolest title ever i have
been the vice president of pizza and snacking my whole life where is my guidance counselor on that one
but when we wanted to talk to like the wall street journal vice president of pizza and snacking or
you know the ceo and it's like then if we're talking to a food uh uh you know group we're gonna
have the chef talk like we've had these individual ones but i think the collectiveness of it is a new
concept i think when you have a community to manage where you have these people who are invested and feel
like they are truly part of your brand managing them along with people who could potentially join that
community along with the public is sort of a new concept at least to me um you know having worked
in sort of communications for a really long time like i've seen not this one and the closest comp
i can have which i mentioned is that zappos chief culture officer who did all the things and went out
and talked about the company and the individual stories and what it was like being on the phones
and what people do and then tony shay came out and said okay this is us talking about the macro
environment of the the industry so i think it's cool um and i think you know it's something that
i i hope to see more of not just because i wrote it literally in my book and i'm predicting that it
should be a job class that exists but also because i think it's a necessary job class that you know the
right companies are taking seriously um diala go ahead and get in here gm how are you this morning
gm gm guys um i'm great i'm great um every time somebody says something i'm like oh i have a comment
on that so i'm like trying to keep my thoughts organized over here and maybe i should be using chat gpt to do
that part um but um before i get into it um you guys realize that riz is kind of like an abbreviated
way of saying charisma right no no that's yes thank you that i think that i think that i think
that's a mind that's a a mic drop to a lot of people in here in how they are and how they are
learning i i've been informed of this in the past couple of weeks not to brag but uh but yes i i am
aware yeah as a parent of a 16 year old i feel like it's my it's my job to um to learn every phrase
that could possibly um make her cringe when i'm talking around her friends so yeah um spitting
out words like riz when they're around like they think it's like oh my gosh that's funny that your
mom even knows that she's like yeah um but uh it keeps me humble you know um and um so to the point
um about founders um one thing that's important to remember is there is no such thing as a web
three expert we are way too new for anybody to be an expert in web three i will say that again there
is no such thing as a web three expert there is room for every single person from the bottom all the
way to the top founders um to learn and one thing we're really learning is um is that founders need to
stay in touch with what's going on in communities like as much as you know traders need to know the
meta of what's going on what's going to yield the most profit founders need to know the meta and
what's working in communities and what they need to feel supported encouraged and to stay together to
support the project when it's in leaner times and when they're just you know kind of just in in
building stages where things are like more quiet um i think that sometimes they get in the habit of
being you know kind of like in the echo chamber and you get really excited and sometimes when you
have a really fervent community um it's easy to be like oh okay well anybody who has any kind of
comment or criticism it's just futters they're just haters um but it's important to zoom out and say
okay well if i'm hearing this kind of comment and you know you want to remove the emotion from it
because some people get more emphatic than others if i'm hearing this okay there's clearly something
i'm missing if i'm hearing the same kind of comment from a handful of different people um yeah it might
not feel good to get those comments it you know you want to quickly come to um to defend yourself but
you have to zoom out and say all right there's something that i'm missing so it's okay to have
somebody like um you know like uh like joey mentions hr or pr something like that to have somebody
in place whose specific job it is to listen and understand the communities and um and what's
really working for communities and what is it most importantly um i really think that those are that's
one of the most underrated roles in web 3 right now um because you know we have a lot of spaces where
you know people are talking about vibes or mental health or something that is really important a lot
a lot of us spend so much of our time in this space um to feel heard um respected and acknowledged
in here is an incredibly valuable um skill to learn to give to people so as far as that concerned i was
kind of disappointed um with the way things um kind of rolled out but i do understand you know from a top
perspective you want to kind of defend um and um and validate and it doesn't feel good to um to kind of
get all these negative comments after kind of really riding a high for a while it's just it feels like a
blind side and you want to be defensive um but it's a lesson in you know keeping every person in this
space needs to stay humble and understand that nobody has gotten it right yet um not even our
blockchains have it right yet um so we and we still have a lot of ways to go and a lot to learn from
and if we kind of stay in the mindset that yeah um we're still growing we are still early um then we get
it a lot better than you know thinking it's like no you he should know he should know everything he
should know better it's like yeah okay he screws up and now we learn and do better that's how things
work um and one quick thing about ai so somebody taught me this and it was really cool and i cannot
i cannot believe how much more productive it has made me actually i can't take credit for it because
um sansa actually he taught he told me about this at vcon so um using the app otter io which is a
dictation app um you know you just kind of speak into it and it kind of transcribes your notes or
whatever um using it throughout the day to kind of like take your mental notes and then at the end of
the day taking all of those notes and plugging them into chat gpt and asking for kind of a summary
of those really helps to kind of one show you the direction of your thought process during the day
to help you create more consistent content and three not lose um those kind of like great thought
nuggets that happen and just kind of you know they come and and they're gone in an instant and um they
don't pop into your head for like another two weeks but that has changed my productivity and just
the way i view um the space and and the angles of which i communicate with people so much i highly
recommend it again can't take credit for it but it is an absolute game changer as far as um just
creating a nice um clearer path as to how you're moving throughout the day and your thought process in
the space and to um be consistent in what you're doing so it works with zoom google meet and like a few
other functions too to like listen in on your your work meetings and transcribe them all and then you
can drop the transcription into chat gpt and chat gpt will give you like an outline or a summary yeah
blew my freaking mind i'm like this is a thing and i was an ai fudder i was like no you know like we have
to keep things original and i don't want to just read things that are written by um a machine but
honestly if you're if you're taking your thoughts and it's able to um synthesize them in a way that makes
you communicate effectively with the people in the space that you want to connect with then that's
an amazing thing as long as we're remembering that we're the root of it and it's only as good as we
make it then like the sky's the limit i think it's an amazing like tool for the space especially me
because my thoughts are all over the place so um it keeps me kind of together or at least faking it
well so first of all banger of a quote at the beginning there when you're like nobody is a web 3
expert i'm going to steal that because i think that that's one of those things i'm going to steal
like an artist that is a great quote um that i think like because i've heard people say like oh
like you know so and so is an expert so and so is an expert like you can be very proficient at
things and be paying attention but no we don't have enough sort of case studies to see exactly
what is definitively going to work one way or the other here so i think that that's like saying
nobody's a web 3 expert i think it is fair people can have expertise areas but i think that
that's a fair um i think it's a fair point um the other thing on the ai thing like now that you
mention it like i'm considering the um the assistant um because a while ago i talked about
needing an actual like i was like i used to think assistants were things rich people have and then
i realized it's just things busy people have um because i'm like oh man i need to be rich to have
an assistant and then like i'm like oh no i have a job i'm duct taping a career together as an
entrepreneur i can't keep track of my shit and i'm not very organized to begin with every person i've
hired in the past inadvertently has been completely differently different than me in that
they had complementary skill sets of like organization that i don't have my wife has
complementary skill sets of organization i don't have and it's like i'm realizing i could transcribe
things into a you know using this and like basically be like hey what is the best most efficient way i can
work if i want to do this this and this and this is my priority and so i'm going to start doing that
so that's something that's a way i'm going to use ai to improve my way for sure yeah as a storyteller
as a creative we're kind of like more biased to not be organized i mean it's just the truth of the
matter so like i have really found i'm like okay this is helping me operate like at this optimized
level of the people that i envy that are hyper organized and i'm like how do they get it together
how are they just moving so logically through everything um yeah it's kind of like uh it's it's
my iron man suit of web 3 right now suit so i'm really digging it no it's super smart it's something
that i think i'm going to like i said i'm going to employ when i have internet again uh when the
painters plug back in the uh my life um i'm going to do that i think that's a super interesting uh
application and that's what i keep saying like i i was similar to you i had an aversion to ai and i i
told the story earlier in the show but it's like when i turned what what was two hours of research
from an interview into one ai prompt in 15 minutes of refining and a little bit of extra research it's
like i just saved myself you know 90 to 120 minutes of time just by using ai for something
when i'm like whoa i'm a writer i'm an interviewer i do the creative stuff here and then like it was
like oh wait it's a tool that helped me be better at my job it didn't change the way i ask questions
didn't make me think differently i had to like refine it but the value of it was so high that it's
like now like okay that makes sense and the assistant thing makes sense and i think everybody
can use it in different ways to plug gaps and make themselves more efficient and like truthfully
it gives you time which means ai actually lets you be a little more human sometimes
yeah i actually um i saw something yesterday where it compared um ai to the printing press
and it was just a meme but it that that shift in perspective was like yeah this is something that
really uh when used properly it's not going to set us back it doesn't take away from the talent of
storytelling it doesn't take away um from original ideas and sentiment but it really does um just put
things together in a more efficient way so we can just get more done and for as fast as the space
moves we can't afford to move slow um and i don't know about you guys but yeah you know the mom
brain kicks in all right i'm creeping on 40 shit just kind of slides through the cracks so i need
something that's really going to um be able to hold on to that for me and like um keep it in one
place so i can get the things done that i want to and not feel stressed out that i'm missing something
um so yeah for as much as i kind of fudded it to begin with i'm a believer now it's converted me
yeah it's absolutely true there's only so much storage hardware space and look i mean the
industrial revolution happened it didn't kill every everybody's job who's on a factory line
and created new jobs ai is going to create new jobs it happens um and again people early on in
technology have an aversion like you can find the clip of david letterman making fun of bill gates
and i know it's a comedy show but like basically saying you know like explaining like um there's a
radio so i could listen to a baseball game whenever i want there oh there's a tape recorder if i
want to listen to it later it's like you're not understanding it does all the things and it's
like even like i use blockchain as the example yeah like could you create a you know have your
community vote on a new flavor of donut in your donut store could you throw a party where they
have entries could you use them you know for but yeah if you don't want to get botted if you want
to be authenticated if you want to be done efficiently and be done with one technology there's a blockchain
that does all of that right and so there's better technology is better technology and it's always
going to work and having that aversion is only going to uh push you further away um let's uh
let's go to i think felix then stoop and i we have a dgen meeting in five so i don't want to be too
late to that um so felix go ahead and get in here and then we'll go to stoop and then we'll probably
wrap cool gm i'll uh i'll be quick i'll be conscious of your schedule uh a couple of threads well firstly
kudos for just having a authentic space on the regular that's not uh chasing numbers uh with the latest
drama uh it's it's refreshing and it's a nice way to start the day so i'll give you some flowers on
that um secondly because and this is such a cliche thing but it's true because we're so early in this
space it's it's and this is kind of what jack i think it was jack that alluded to you know um if
you're you know testing the waters are all ready to jump in like this market you know as as someone
who recently did it it's the perfect time to really you know give it a go and give it a nudge
because one of the beauties and one of the reasons i think web 3 is accelerating at such a pace is
that there's so many walks of life and so many backgrounds that it's not just a niche or a bubble
of the the same you know minded or trained people working on something there's all these walks of life
that have congregated in this one space that are thinking and pulling on it in so many different ways
that the opportunities are obviously endless right so this is the time where you're going to get out
what this is my my go-to phrase it seems but you're going to get out what you put in and it doesn't mean
you got to quit your job and go try to find a job here but just putting the time and energy and turning
up is where the doors will start to open um and you'll uh you know there's a good chance if you're
authentic you're going to find kind of your tribe or the right people to surround yourself with
um the last thing i'll touch on the ai um it's it's pretty wild like chat gpt i was talking with
frank the other week and i a lot of people probably realize this i didn't so i'll share it because
maybe some people don't each of those threads that you create chat gpt is you can train it to be its
own personality so like you can have a particular thread where you're hitting on a certain topic and
you refine it and it's very effective if you just talk to it like a human as as was mentioned in this
space but you can through the one account have multiple versions of the ai that you're talking
to like he has one that you know they've essentially trained up to be a disgruntled holder
where they're you know market testing things or drops or announcements to see what kind of fud or
negative responses they could get and tailoring it to those kind of personalities so working from
different sides um or having different threads that touch on you know uh kind of like training up
or picking a uh an advisor or a colleague uh that you would bounce things off you can absolutely use
chat gtp for that um and then the other thing in relation to finding smart ways to to streamline
your workflow um i was trying to look up the name of it i couldn't find it but um something that i got
some exposure to recently is essentially a an ai program that listens in on on zooms or google meets
like online meetings and will transcribe it record it but it will also develop surprisingly accurate
minutes and action items off the back of it um that you know basically all my career we would hire
you know someone fresh out of college to sit there and take minutes you know 80 grand a year
uh to make sure that action items got dispersed around and that that can now totally be done by an
application and then the second one is there's another one and again i apologize because i can't
find my name but you can just run it in the background and now that we do a lot more stuff
online especially with all these meetings if if you do have things slipping through the crack you can be
like you know i was on a space and uh captain steve were talking about blah blah blah can you uh go back
to that summarize it and you basically ask and it can describe that section it can rewind a recording and
play that section back like it can just you know it's smart enough to go back at any point in time
when it was turned on and pull that information back as an idea pops back into your head so that was
just something that i was like wow that's creepy but also pretty effective if you're you know fishing
for for old stuff because i used to have to write you know my notes in my journal every day of all the
various things that were happening just so i could keep track of everything um you know historically so it's uh
uh it's wild and i think i think at this stage if you ignore it you just kind of going to be left
behind so you may as well embrace it and learn how to use it because it's essentially a tool
as steve was saying and it's it's really powerful it's it's funny you say that too because i think
about the um you know i had a experience just the other day so we finished this 250 page book about
like how businesses can deploy nfts in their business whether you're you know a big business a small
business whatever here's a framework and here's how you do it and here's why it makes sense and
here why you know web 3 and nfts it's just better software this whole book and realized after 250
pages and sending to our first set of sort of like test readers who are people mostly who don't
understand the software and and are there and kind of learning that we never actually explained what
the blockchain was like like because it didn't seem relevant to like how you would employ it was like
a strategy book but we're like probably should explain why because one of the first questions we get is
you know why how can you prove that something gives you infallible proof of ownership right
like that seems impossible everything can be hacked that's what we get when we we go into
large companies so we should have that in there just even a couple of paragraphs it's it's not
paramount to the success of the book well as we were talking about this i had a meeting with my
co-author scott and like we discussed like ways to explain it and i had this like banger analogy
by the time i got to writing it could not remember the banger analogy felt really good about it but
it's got something completely different now and it's like if i had like and again i should
have just written it down or taken a note i swore i wrote it in one of my 65 random word docs that i
have open that is you know like document number 47 but like instead i just can't find it and so i
rewrote it without that whatever the point is if i had something like this i would have just had the
ai recall it i would have i would have had a virtual assistant it would have recorded our call
and then it would be like what was that thing i said and i would have gotten an answer and i'd still
have my banger analogy so instead we'll go with the way i'm explaining blockchain now which is like
again it's like three short paragraphs about like basically why things provide infallible proof of
ownership so we can make that credible play but um yeah to your point like i think there's some tools
that i could potentially use in my life that would make my life infinitely infinitely better and more
efficient especially as someone who is completely disorganized and i just need to take the leap and
take the time to get to know them so good points all around um one one one thing i'll add to that is
is when you're on these meetings and you have someone that goes on like a even in a space like
a really passionate you know explanation or monologue it's really hard to capture that because you know
you can't get it word for word you can't you know typically generally you're not really recording it
with this like there's several times where i'll use justin mazal as an example he he he can he can
speak with a lot of passion and to capture that it can be quite difficult um and i've had some things
where it's being recorded or transcribed and i've gone back to capture it and i'm like yes like
there's no way i could have like just taken notes on that after the fact and captured in such a
succinct way so it's it's uh it's really good dig it i gotta get into my life let's go to circles
and then we will probably end there uh so i can get to that dgen meeting 30 seconds or less circles
all right i was just gonna say on the topic of ai and using it in daily life i have used it for a
not web 3 but a web one-ish job just no web at all job um for a job application through in the uh
the description of the job ask hey what are some keywords that they're going to be looking for
through in my resume through in my linkedin just copy and pasted the text asked hey format this to
be best for this job using my information it spit it out had it spit out a cover letter for me as well
had one interview got another one lined up for later this week so i mean
shit works hey there's also an ai bot now saw this on the timeline this morning no kidding
that will actually sit in that interview with you and it tell you the most optimal like the gto way
to answer those interview questions that's got to be like direct in here like that cap can you uh
can you throw that around the image or something uh i might need that come on tomorrow a performance
based interview uh question the uh the whole yeah the star question situation task action result
excellent cool cool well with that said we're gonna run we're a couple minutes late to our dgen
meeting so we're gonna head that way but thanks to everyone who came by this morning respectfully
discussing anything whether it's to deal with the comments over the weekend or talking ai which was
a much much more fun conversation uh enjoyed that uh i think we have a future space with ai but with
that said we're going to go ahead and call it a day thanks to everyone who came up and spoke today
thanks to everybody who attended you could have spent the last three hours and three minutes
anywhere but you spent it with us and that means the world to us looking forward to seeing
everybody bright and early tomorrow morning at 8 a.m have a wonderful wonderful day everybody
