We're introducing our up and coming,
super exciting social product.
We'll be telefriends and we are joined by James Young,
who is the CEO and co-founder of Collabland
and well, the makers of Collabland at Bridge.io.
So he is here to tell us all about what we have
to look forward to with the newest social fie bot offering
that will be coming from Collabland.
We also have some of our extended marketing team
and partners here to join on stage
and share as well, including Brian,
who's already on stage. And if we including Brian who's already on stage
And if we have additional who would like to join please raise your hand
Let me know and we will kick off the conversation. So this is really exciting James Brian
Thank you so much for joining on stage today. How are you doing? And how do we kick off teleference?
James where do you want to start?
GM GM, thank you.
Appreciate the warm intro here.
Let's jump into it.
I'm sure that people have questions on what is teleference
and what is it we're doing in social fie.
So I'm happy to jump into it. I also want to
give some intro space to Brian to do an intro beforehand. Brian, do you want to
step up? I can man, but I really want to just like hop in and start talking about
telefriends because I'm super excited and the reason why I'm super excited is just
the amount of opportunity
and a huge number set of problems within the creator space.
You guys are solving, I got super excited
and wanted to hop on board and help out.
Appreciate it, thank you.
Yeah, so let's jump into it.
What is tele-friends?
Well, if you're familiar with friend.tech,
I think it's arguably that friend.tech kind
of kicked off this kind of cycle of social fai.
And so what we've been doing is at Collabland, if you're familiar with Collabland, been
doing token gating.
And really, we saw this as an opportunity
to really enhance the space.
Collablan has always been kind of a tool used after the fact.
And so what we decided now with TeleFriends
is to go beyond the gate here.
So we have a bonding curve like mechanism
very similar to friend.tech.
However, and I'll talk about this,
there are a couple of key innovations that we have.
Number one, this is all in Telegram.
You do not need to leave Telegram to use Telefriends.
It leverages Telegram's mini app system.
For those that are not aware, in Telegram you can embed web pages. So we're
going to take advantage of that and we'll have a social-fi experience where
you can buy and sell what we're calling passes to a creator.
You will buy and sell into a creator's bonding curve and in that you will be able to then join
that creator's private group inside of telegram. We're using the same infrastructure as we use a collab land.
So if you are a pass holder, we check to see that the teleference bot will check to see
that you are a pass holder and allow you in that group.
And if you sell your pass and you don't have any more passes, then the teleference bot
will remove you from that private chat. So we are not having to do the heavy lifting of creating our own chat platform.
And really that is in alignment with how we've operated within Collabland.
We are on other platforms with tele-friends. It's initially initially gonna be on Telegram. We are looking to see how we migrate
to other chat platforms in the future.
For those that have followed Collabland
in our three and a half year journey,
we actually started on Telegram
and then when the NFT boom happened,
we saw huge demand in Discord.
So here, because we believe Telegram as a chat platform
is a crypto native chat platform,
I would argue that there's more crypto groups in Telegram
that then there are even on X or Twitter.
So we are starting in Telegram,
and we're going to innovate in a lot of ways.
So using Telegram as a platform,
we are able to leverage Telegram's contact list for virality.
And so you can invite people to join TeleFriends.
You will be able to earn points for inviting people.
You will also earn points if those people that you invite also buy and sell passes.
So we have this whole incentive mechanism here that we're going to talk about today.
Wanted to stop there. And I don't know if I'm going too fast or going too slow.
Want to pause, see if there's any questions
or Brian, if there's anything else
that you want to fill out here
or round out in terms of info.
No, this is great.
I think, you know, with the rise of like social fire
in general, there's been some issues around it.
And solving those issues,
Collabland has built incredible tools
that in terms of security,
in terms of like protecting 55,000 different discourse
with like NFT dating,
like you guys are rocking it with this.
So Telegram is an increased visibility and distribution network
and it's a perfect example of how to overlay that tech. The next piece I'm really
jonesed to talk about but I'm going to let you do the honors if there's any other questions out there.
Sure. Yeah, I think if I understand what you're getting at, Brian, so there's social
fi, right?
And we're bringing that to Telegram.
There's already a meta right now with Telegram trading bots.
So what we're doing here with Telefrens is we're merging social fi instead of it using
your social graph on X slash Twitter. What we're doing is we're leveraging
your contact list and telegram,
and we're also incorporating some
copy trading functionality within teleference.
Now, this is unique to social fie,
and this is something that we're really excited
to announce and to release.
So when you, as a creator creator are creating your private chat,
you'll be able to provide copy-trading links
within your private chat group.
And that is one of the utilities out the gate.
It's just the very beginning.
We're just scratching the surface. And what we've heard from
these influencers, these creators, these KOLs,
especially in the DeFi, those that are DGEN, are that copy trading is where it's at because
when you are a creator and you're giving out alpha, you're giving it out, you're giving it away, right?
With copy trading and copy trading links, you're actually going to be able to monetize
your alpha through these copy trading links.
So there is going to be a protocol fee rev share with the trading from using copy trading
links and we think this is huge. So with creators, we're super excited that like you as a creator
can generate income, you can generate revenue
by having those that are in your sphere of influence
buy and sell what we're calling passes.
But on top of that, there is all this other monetization revenue and we're
going to start with incorporating and merging social fives with trading bots.
And in that, you as a creator will be able to generate revenue from your alpha.
We're also going to have natives buying and selling within Telegraph. So you can actually use Telegraph natively
to buy and sell and we are going to have other convenience features like Fiat
onboarding. So if you are new to crypto and you don't know how to go through an exchange and all of that.
We actually have partnered with Fiat onboarding and we'll talk about that or we can't talk
about that some more.
What we think in terms of the Fiat onboarding is that we are very sensitive to the fees. So we scan the different vendors in the fiat onboarding space and
chosen one that has the lowest fees. So you can be sure that when you're on
ramping to fiat this is not anyway associated with telephones specifically.
You'll be able to go through the fiat on ramp and be able to participate and start trading
straight from the bot.
Alright, so James, James, like this is like a huge, huge massive
like setup here where
you're like literally changing the game. So are you saying that with these trading links any
community can start using these trading links
and start earning revenues on their token?
Yes, that's right.
So what we wanna do is we want,
and we encourage people to start monetizing their alpha, right?
And I think you can, as a creator, as a group,
if you have a token, you can start giving out these trading links
and not only be able to showcase your token
and make it easy for those that want to purchase, buy,
or sell your token to be able to use those trading links,
but also generate fees off of them as well.
All right.
So if you're, let's say, a community holder
with 100,000 people in their telegram,
Justin Woo, Justin Woo,
if you're one of these guys and you have a trading idea
or a token idea that you are getting behind,
you can post that link into your community
and start earning their revenues and trading fees.
That's right, exactly right.
That's massive, it's like incredibly massive.
And then not only that, you can also just kind of post it within your Twitter feed.
So if you have a trading idea, and this is all on DeFi, right?
That's right.
All right. So you got trading links for your communities,
you know, launch your own token, get start generating revenues for your own community.
But if you're in KOL out and you have a trading idea, you can put a Twitter post and people
can like flow right in and start trading that idea.
That's right. Exactly right. And you not only be able to get your ideas out there and you
don't have to worry about communicating where to buy and how to buy and all of that. It's
just a one click link. The end user will be able to click that link,
confirm and off to the races there.
We wanna make it as easy as possible
as we onboard users to not only get a wallet
but be able to start getting into the thick of trading
as quickly as possible.
Dude, this is so crazy.
Like the amount of like alpha that's going to be out there.
So everybody that has like their alpha Twitter or they have like,
Hey, here's a thread on why you should invest in anything from like
GMX or why you should take a look at like X token project or it doesn't matter.
Like all of these will eventually become available.
Yeah. And it's just going to be a click away.
It's scary too. It's super cool, but it's just going to be a click away. That sounds scary too.
It's super cool, but it's also scary.
How would you stop scams or protection around this?
Yeah, that's a great question.
And that leads to this next point.
And just to preface before I start answering this, we at Collabland have been doing token gating for three and a half years.
And we've seen a lot over those three and a half years because we are, we have met to
token gating, we popularized it, and we've seen a lot of the different attacks, not attacks not only scams and crypto but using platforms and the vulnerabilities
or bugs in a platform that's outside of crypto to scam
communities. So we've been very very cautious when it comes to how we allow
this to happen. So first and foremost, we are not like a typical
telegram trading bot in that we don't have custodial access. So this is going
to get a little bit technical, but we have a wallet provider that uses a multi-party compute,
an NPC network for wallet off.
We've incorporated that with,
and this is a little technical,
EIP 4337 for smart accounts. And we believe that...
That's a technical James, come on now. Say again?
Nothing, nothing. We're good James. Go for it. 4337. Got it. Wonderful.
Got it. Yeah. So we have 4337. We also, and not a lot of people know this, there is another EIP 6900 that allows for plugins.
So it's gonna be a game changer when it comes to
how we think about scriptability
and how we do things like subscriptions.
So with 6900 and 4337 account plugins,
we can now have pull functionality
when it comes to payments.
So you can pull payments instead of having to push.
We think that's groundbreaking game changer.
We're setting the foundation for that.
And security is first and foremost.
So we have 2FA using this new technology called Passkey.
Passkey's been adopted by Google, Microsoft, and Apple.
You'll see as the internet moves away from passwords to Passkey, we've already adopted
it so that you have full control of your smart account. And this is how we're different also
than the current trend that's happening within SocialFly. In In social fly, you have what's called embedded wallets.
And so if you are on social fly app, a you'll have one wallet. If you're on social app,
social fly app, be you'll have another wallet. Here, what we're doing with 4337 is not only
being more secure, but allowing for one wallet. So we are starting with Telefrens.
We're super hyped, super excited for Telefrens.
We're gonna have other apps or bots
that we're gonna be launching.
They're all gonna be unified with the same smart account.
So we believe that this is the future
and the most secure way of being able to not only
on-ramp or onboard new users but have a healthy ecosystem.
So you're not having all of these fragmented EOAs. We're moving past EOAs into smart accounts or
what's account abstraction. I've been following account abstraction since EIP 86. So Vitalik,
since EIP 86.
So Vitalik, one of the first EIPs
were talking about account abstraction.
And if you listen to the history of Ethereum as an ecosystem,
they had to push out Ethereum.
And so one of the things that never made the list
was account abstraction.
That was one of the original specs or the features
that Ethereum was going to provide.
But in order to get things out the door,
they didn't, it's taken now, I don't know,
years, if you will, since 2016.
So it's been what, seven years now.
We're finally seeing account abstraction taking off.
And we're gonna leverage it
and make sure that
onboarding is easy.
James, Dave, dude, like it's massive.
Okay, so we got to roll it back for a second.
I have a question really around like pulling, pulling token from a wallet and giving up
approval.
Like you kind of like glossed over that.
What can be built now from, from that?
If you can pull a token for somebody's wallet and you give them
approval on some time cadence or a monthly basis,
what's this mean for the tools that you're building?
So one of the things that-
43.37 is not completely novel in the space like Tomo.
Tomo does it. That's why they're able to be on the App Store.
It's because they don't actually have any of that sort of direct integration, like,
on the app itself so they can be in the App Store. It's super convenient for them.
But like the 6900 stuff is far more interesting. Can you go into that and
what all could be built?
Yeah, absolutely. So one of the things I glossed over is how we use do wallet auth.
So there is a project out there
if people are familiar with lid protocol.
It's the NPC network that we're using.
Now there are NPC networks that exist.
So like the embedded wallet space.
And like you were talking about Tomo,
they have this ability to, in a decentralized way,
be able to allow users to sign for their smart account.
But these signatures are all manual.
Because the MPC network, what it does
is it reconstitutes the shards of a private key
that the user then has control over.
And the user can sign a message here with lib protocol.
They have taken a twist
It's it may sound nuanced and I'm gonna explain it in a second, but it's huge and it's massive and
the insight for this was something that I came across in
2018 before we did collab land a bridge was a no- tool. And what we did was we actually was the first
kind of create two non-counterfactual instantiated wallet. So we have a lot of wallet experience.
And the problem was is that it was very difficult to script your wallet, and this is where Lit Protocol comes in.
They don't reconstitute the shards of a private key from the NPC network that the user then
has access to.
The user never really has access to their private key.
What they're doing is they're authorizing a script.
So you can imagine this script living on IPFS. So it's immutable, but it's off-chain.
The way we think about this in terms of the lit action is an off-chain smart contract.
It has visibility into the rest of the internet.
And if we want to talk about our,
and how we're going to incorporate AI, we can,
but maybe that's outside the scope of this conversation.
And it has one foot inside of multiple blockchains
that are EVM compatible.
So with this wallet off as a signer,
it can read things off the internet and it
signs messages on chain. It's a program that you run. So from the get-go, you as a
user are not doing things manually. You're authorizing scripts to do
functionality on your behalf. So going back to the subscription model with 6900,
instead of users having a smart account
and going to different DAPs
and interacting with different DAPs, what 6900 does,
it actually is like putting the DAP
inside your smart account and constraining it.
So the DAP is actually living in your smart account
and you can have it do things.
Now coupled with lit actions,
you can actually have that lit action
talk directly to the plugin,
your DAP that lives inside of your smart account
and your smart account can have the constraints
of what that plugin can and cannot do.
So there's a lot of things like subscriptions,
there's a lot of things like approvals
and dead man switches,
and a lot of things that are problematic
with EOA based wallets right now and a lot of this kind of
attack surface that currently exists that we think we can just categorically avoid now
with smart accounts and plug-ins coupled and this is the key, It's coupled with these lit actions so that you're not having to do 200,
300 approvals to do transactions. You can actually write a lit action stored on IPFS, so it's
immutable. You have access to it and that lit action can do things on your behalf. And coincidentally, since we are launching this in Telegram,
which is a chat platform, AI is a great environment
for chat as well.
So this opens the door for us to be
able to play around and experiment with AI,
not only in a user setting.
So there's all this talk about intents, right?
Where instead of having to give manual instructions,
go to this chain on this DAX and trade this token,
you as a user can just type in what you want to do,
and the AI agent will do it on your behalf.
We think that is going to be a game changer,
and that's what people are talking about, and the AI agent will do it on your behalf. We think that is going to be a game changer,
and that's what people are talking about.
But I think what is really going to take off
is AI agents in a group setting, in a group environment.
So you can imagine, for example, if you are a creator,
you can not only copy trade, not only see what the sentiment is in your private group,
but if you as a creator want the telephones bought to have access to your group messages,
you can run sentiment analysis and couple that with on-chain transactions. So now you as a
creator, you can ask your metrics questions via AI.
You can say, okay, I don't know what the question would be, but like, okay, from these like 10, 20, 30, whatever copy trades, how much money was made, what direction or what do people think about what I'm saying in my group chat, how, how is it growing?
How can I better grow my group chat? What do they want me to talk
about? These type of things actually not only help the creator, but this is where the private
information in your chat actually is reinforcement learning that we will put back into the AI.
is reinforcement learning that we will put back into the AI.
So this is reinforcement learning from human feedback
at a group level.
And I think, and I'm going to get a little bit esoteric here,
this is how you begin to get AI alignment.
And so we're super excited by not only onboarding,
being in telegram, allowing creators to be able to earn money through copy trading,
moving the industry forward with EIP 4337 and 6900, experimenting and looking at different types of payment transactions.
So instead of just going through push transactions, you can pull through lit actions. But also, it's inevitable.
The whole world is going to look different within two years.
I think it was yesterday was the one year anniversary
of chat GPT releasing and see how much the world has already
changed and how quickly people have adapted to using AI.
Within Collabland, we use it across development,
marketing, comms everywhere already within a year.
We want to bring that functionality
to our user base here.
And so I think things are gonna start looking
interesting and unrecognizable and unpredictable
in the next year or two.
So this is not just about onboarding,
but it's allowing our user base to be able to stay ahead
of the curve.
We want to allow for insights to happen
that you as a creator may miss because you can't be everywhere
and see everything all the time.
But you'll have an AI agent who can,
who never gets tired and can answer as many questions as you want.
Just going to pause there for a second.
I know I said a lot and we've been thinking about this at
Collabland for well over a year.
We've been working on this because initially we see that we have all these tokenized communities
that we're supporting, but in our data we are seeing less than 15% of those that are
in let's say a Discord, less than 15% of them are connecting a wallet. So you have
85% plus of people interested in crypto but are on the sidelines in a general chat. They're not
behind these token-gated chats. And so we've been thinking how do we help mainstream these
How do we help mainstream these users into crypto in a safe secure way?
And this is what we come up with and the whole social fine meta and the trading bot meta and the 4337
Meta and the AI meta kind of all converging and happening all at once all at the same time
Really compelled us to be able to use and structure this
as our go-to-market strategy.
James Collabland was just fuck playing a meta.
I'm just gonna play all of the metas.
Is that a good wrap up on that one?
I think so.
I think that we're just trying to stay relevant.
I think we're just listening to the market.
We're just trying to be there. I think we're just listening to the market. We're just trying to stay there.
I think that what you guys have done is really creative.
I think that maybe some of the longer term goals
and basic features though of telefriends
are maybe getting glossed over a little bit.
I think that maybe when the audience,
what can they do with collab lens telefriends
that they could not do with others
just in terms of like broad
strokes. I'm talking about like the trading, the trading, the other features that are kind
of out there. Could you go over those in like a 40 mile high view sort of aspect?
Sure. Sure. So one, we're, so there's an assumption here is that like with any new product right it's features that matter but distribution is actually king
right and so here we have distribution side I was told by Brian not to talk about distribution
he's like James will kill you and I was like oh okay so if you want that one bro, be my guest bro tell everyone so excited about the distribution side, right?
Yeah, so here I'll see if I can be
Quick about this so with the lit protocol we've worked with them for over a year and
What we see as part of the friction of onboarding is like Alice has a wallet but Bob doesn't
and Alice wants to send Bob funds.
So Alice has to say, okay, Bob, you got to get a wallet, you got to do X, Y, and Z. With
our implementation of Lit Protocol, we created this feature called claimable keys. So Bob does not have to do anything
in order to receive crypto.
What's happening under the sea or below the surface
is that we're taking the platform and the platform ID.
So here Telegram and their Telegram ID
and then we can create a unique wallet address for them.
And so Bob, instead of having to sign up and get a wallet,
Bob will already have a wallet address
if they are a Telegram user.
So Alice can actually just send Bob, I don't know,
whatever, an ERC 20 token, or you know, ETH or stable, right?
And then Bob is like, oh, okay, what do I need to do to claim this?
I just have to, and this is another feature we have with Tella Friends is that we're going
to have an embedded account contract wallet.
We're using obvious wallet as our provider and Bob will automatically be essentially given a wallet.
And I think that is going to be what opens the door for virality.
So now if we can use Telegram's contact list, we can just have everyone, a creator, whether the recipient is already in crypto or not,
be able to sign up and will automatically be given a wallet. So the distribution is what's key.
And if you think about the popular apps that happened in the past when it comes to initial
distribution, like when it comes to, let's say Facebook, what they leverage was like
the email contact list.
And now that's kind of played out because once a distribution channel exists, it's those
that exploit or leverage it at the first ones to that win.
And then it's diminishing returns after that.
So no one from my understanding has this concept of
claimable keys or has this ability to tap into
Telegram's contact list for virality.
And this is why we're super excited to open this up and
experiment with this.
So I know that people are using Twitter or X's
social graph right now and that's how social fly runs at the moment and this is our take on. I think
that I believe that those that are crypto native probably have wider reach in terms of their social
graph on Telegram as opposed to Twitter. In Telegram all day, every day,
handling 6, 700 different meetings
and groups and group chats, yeah.
Like being able to like-
You're a boomer, Ryan.
But anyways, Telegram is the place to be.
James, this is like so many different things
that Collabland is building and Teleference being the first.
What's it look like in terms of like roll out
or like we're gonna get slammed with all these features
at what's, you know, any stage on the roadmap
that what's coming next or in the next couple of weeks?
Yeah, so we're launching soon.
So we are waiting on our on lit.
They're launching soon.
And so as soon as they launch the mainnet,
we're going to allow some stability to happen there.
And then we're off to the races.
And we're going to start small.
So actually, we're already inside of the developer group.
We already have a V2 ready and locked.
We're launching with V1.
We have features that are on the shelf waiting to be deployed.
But we're going to make sure that we build in public
and we listen to the market.
So the first version of TeleFriends
is going to be very basic.
And we are just going to get our foundation, but we're really excited about extending the
trading bot functionality. We're going to start with copy trading. We think that's going to be huge.
And then from there, we're going to roll out other things like subscriptions and all of the 6900
out other things like subscriptions and all of the 6900 kind of account plug-in.
And then on top of that, we're going to introduce and we have some POCs and demos when it comes
to incorporating AI already, but we're going to see where the market is.
And I think it's one of those things where it's like once you know, you can't unknown, and hopefully this becomes standard very quickly.
And so that if you're early to the game, you will be able to leverage this and be able to take advantage of that asymmetric information.
And in a group environment, I think that we're going to be iterating really quick. So we are really excited to launch this, listen closely to the creators that are using this
the most and seeing how and where this goes in terms of trading, in terms of virality,
and in terms of, you know, where do creators want to take the intersection of AI and crypto
That's rad dude
I mean the thing I got most me most excited is like if I wanted to earn fees on a trading idea right now
Like either have to have my own fund or use my own funds
But if I don't really have a way to share like if I have a concept or idea
I don't have a really a way to monetize in a very easy way
Like the only thing I do is can kind of share a centralized link and then push them to a centralized exchange
The thing I got most excited about is this is all defy, right? Yeah
Like this is like groundbreaking way that I can just have an idea share a link and get paid
Like absolutely and people will follow me if I if I'm giving them good alpha
I just post a link dude a ton of my friends in a flu is up here, too
They're sharing ideas like all the time and I'm following it up even in and you know these guys all they get is a follow
Or maybe a like on their post a tweet
They might be have six seven hours of research behind an idea or a hard rumor and they don't
get anything from it, but a post and like at most a retweet.
But now everybody who has a good idea can now start to get incentivized.
This referral fee is ability for you to have skin in the game like, right?
Like instead of having your number increase on a certain platform and
just increasing whatever that platform is saying, it's like hitting your bottom
line like day one, right? And I think that creators, those that have the novel
ideas, that want to push things forward, they're doing this because they're
interested. We believe that they should get paid for it. And that's, it's something that's actually been true for me. And I think that a lot of other,
like, because I think in terms of like X, right, I'm very, very mid influencer, like I'm the mid
tier, right? But you've seen a lot of success from mid and small creators within the social
fi landscape because of that direct incentivization, like pathway. And so it's really been something that's changed
my life recently and then I can support the companies that I'm running which I
don't necessarily get fair compensation from because they're startups and so I'm
able to kind of subsidize that with this sort of like social fie growth that I've been seeing recently.
And so it's one reason that I've decided to throw in a lot of my personal branding into
tele-friends and I'm super excited for it to exist.
And I'm super bullish on the potential and the possibilities.
And I think that a lot of others that are in similar situations
where maybe you've got better ideas than your follower count suggests
or similar, it's your shot.
It's your chance to kind of like take back the reins
from some of the irresponsible and downright dangerous influencers
that unfortunately we continue to give our
money to on a day-to-day basis. Absolutely you're gonna be able to see the
results here and I'm very sympathetic to creators, influencers, and being able to
monetize because the popularity of Collabland was rooted really in NFT communities.
And when royalties in the NFT side started going away, we at Collabland saw firsthand
the pain, the frustration.
And this is why when we saw Friend.Tech and this novel bonding curve and buying and selling from and to the bonding curve,
assuring that royalties happen
and creators can make money.
We're like, okay, like this is the way.
And this is just the beginning, right?
So copy trading is another way
for you to kind of monetize your ideas, where your ideas and your creativity
can make you money.
We're all about empowering.
This is where the positive some nature of crypto really comes into play.
If we allow and make this happen for creators and they're successful,
we're just all here along the way, just for the ride,
because it's really the creators
that are gonna make the platform powerful.
And this is another reason why we wanna be able
to give these creators analytics and tooling
so that not only are they just able to be creative,
they can use the tools to be able to inspire them for more creativity.
This is the interaction with AI that we're going to have as well.
And they can ask analytics questions.
Instead of having to mend their private chat, they can ask the AI,
okay, well, what's the sentiment?
Where should I go?
What do people want?
And then they can map that onto kind of on-chain performance and you know we want to reward and I think the market
will reward those influencers, those creators that are really moving the
needle and providing really great trading ideas. James what's the
some of the inspiration around the royalty apocalypse too?
Can you talk a little bit about that?
Yeah, so that is really where I saw the kind of last cycle kind of rise and fall, right?
My personal view is that NFTs really caught creator imagination because you can make money off of secondary sales.
And that is really what sparked I think this innovation or rejuvenation of like digital
And what we're doing here with tele-friends is just widening that net, just casting a wider net to those
that are just not only here culturally and for the art, but that are also here that have
insight in terms of investing in trading. the centralized marketplaces optimize for their profits
and take away royalties so that they could attract buyers
and not honor these royalties.
This is when we're like, wait a second,
this needs to be in the hands of the people
and it shouldn't be dictated by a central authority.
You're seeing similar things play out in AI.
I won't get into that, but this is why when you look at a bonding curve,
a bonding curve really is a marketplace and it's a marketplace
that the creator owns and the creator controls.
So it's not only are we trading in DeFi, we're doing this in a way that puts the creator
in a sovereign position.
So this is the creator's bonding curve.
Buying and selling out of the bonding curve makes sure that royalties are enforced. They're not giving away the ability to trade
to a centralized exchange or an NFT marketplace
or anything like that.
They are in control, the bonding curve is theirs
and no one can take it away from them.
You know, I'm not gonna call what, you know,
these the blur and these other exchanges do theft, but it's
almost getting to there.
They were wiping out their monetization technique.
And so it's an opportunity for Collabland to step in and start to make some different
type of monetization tools that can't be manipulated.
That's right.
I mean, that is really, you know, it's like, how do you mainstream crypto,
and at the same time, keep the core values of Web3,
of self sovereignty, permissionlessness, decentralization.
And for us, we know, and we played in this gap here
at Collabland between centralized and decentralized.
So we had to make really strategic decisions
not to have to build our own chat platform
and just leverage Telegram and Discord, for example.
Because when it comes to decentralization
and as we progressively get there,
I'm getting a little philosophical,
it's not about being maximally decentralized. it's about always having a credible exit. So that's why
when we started on Telegram we're like okay what if you know one chat platform
decides to kind of nix this token gating, well we can go to another, right? So we
know that there's optionality and what we've seen in like collaborative
statistics is that once we opened opened because we are originally just on
Telegram once we open onto discord
it was amazing how quickly because people were rooted in a
financialized asset to move or to migrate from one platform to another it was super simple to move over and so
We're like, okay, that means that, you know,
we don't have to build out our own chat platform.
We can just make sure that if one shuts down,
another one can pop up.
And it, because the access control to that group
is not rooted in the chat platform, it's rooted on chain. And no one can take that away from anyone.
And so this is these insights and a lot of these like small insights that have shaped
kind of our thinking, the goal is decentralization. But it doesn't mean that's where we start. We
believe what's funny James is that like what you just said echoes a lot of the concerns
that people have had over time.
And I've seen this happen to friends obviously,
where like they have their login for X,
is their login to all of these other social five platforms,
And that like places an inherent like a centralized risk
to that login.
So if you get froggy one day until someone online something unkind, you could lose your
access to financialized platforms in which you have assets.
And so it's a feather in the cap of anyone who's looking to do that more around this 4337 that can shift in between
Discord and Telegram and and everything and always be backed up by an on-chain identity
That's right. And this is why it's important for us and we've worked hard at integrating
Paskey because Paskey is something the user
because passkey is something the user has control over.
And so we believe that there's multiple forms of authentication.
We think just having one type of auth or single auth
and not being able to rotate your keys is very dangerous
because it puts a lot of responsibility on a user.
And so we're really, and this is why, you know, my experience
doing a bridge and having one of the first counterfactual
contract wallets out in the market.
This was in 2018.
I saw still how brutal the system was.
And this is why I've been kind of waiting, holding my breath now for five years.
This actually tele-friends what we're doing with 4337, you know, meta transactions, sponsored
transactions, whatever you want to call it with token paymasters, having multiple ops.
This is like five years in the making.
And it was just instead of holding out and like was just instead of pushing out a subpar solution,
I've waited. And I think now this is the time. And this is why it's easy to consume all these
meddas because we've been waiting for a few cycles now. But now we feel like this is time. So this
may seem like, you know,
we're just taking advantage of what's happening in the moment,
but you know, it's one of those like,
it's taking us years to become, you know,
this overnight success.
I mean, we're not successful yet
in terms of telephones, it's not even launched,
but we're poised and we're ready to rip.
And I think actually that is a good point
to see if our audience has any questions
because James being poised and ready to rip sounds exciting.
I put on our teleference Twitter
that we'll be ready to launch soon with the TM
because we're very agile and have some moving parts.
But would like to
see if the audience has any questions that if you do feel free to request to
speak and we'll pull you up here and you can have your chance to learn a little
bit more we'll answer what we can and what we can't we'll defer that till next time.
I don't know if while we're waiting for the audience to volunteer questions,
do we still, we have Brian up here. We've got Fluta up here. I don't know where Joe went, but if he has questions as well or things to add,
definitely you guys feel free to pop in here.
We'll be waiting for people to also contribute.
Yeah, so Joe wanted to say before he left
that previously social phy really relied
on these other platforms, like the centralized platforms.
And it feels like tele-friends is like really like you're embedded
in telegram. You're trading passes around. You're trading token around. You're incentivizing people
to take actions in telegram where people are already all day long, right? And so it's just
starting to do get outside of just this, you know, the DeFi bubbles with these MPC wallets. It's like
now you can start to trade and just send tokens to addresses
that don't even have a wallet yet
and they can call in addresses.
These like super powerful things embedded in that.
And one of the things I'm most excited about,
I'll be honest, my thing I'm most excited about
is I have a ton of like DeFi influencer friends
who are pumping tokens and that they believe in
and they're like, they like these narratives and they don't get incentivized to continue, right?
So there's especially in this bear market, it's been really hard on a lot of creators and even in the deep ice space,
who are like, all marketing budgets got cut, but they still want to like, they still believe in the purpose and they still believe in projects,
they still believe in crypto, but there's really not a way to incentivize them to continue posting, right?
It's just coming out of like true belief.
And now for me, I can tell a bunch of people that I know
who I follow, it's like, here's a way to stand behind
your belief system and earn in a decentralized way.
And that's what I'm most excited about.
Yeah, I hear you.
I think it's tokens that that has a lot of room
to be plugged and adopted by people who maybe didn't give it
enough of a chance the first time is probably the collab
But I'm the only person on stage who can say that.
So let's go.
Yeah, we have a bunch of interesting ideas that we want to make sure that we at first are
you know what I mean no one else can say anything James chill you don't have to say anything about
the token we're all good I'm gonna say that the team is looking to create utility for the token that is utilitarian in nature.
Thank you for coming.
I appreciate that.
Thank you so much.
Our main objective is to add value.
Here we want to empower people.
Again, it goes back to what we saw in terms of the previous cycle, the rise of creators and communities as they were coming together and being able
to have secondary revenue streams.
And we really, really want to bring that back.
And if you have a great idea, if you have insight, now you can actualize it and earn
There is creativity there.
There is a lot of work behind the scenes,
a lot of analysis and just thesis building
that you have to do.
And it is one thing to be able to communicate that
directly and easily.
And another thing to be able to have other people
take action on it and be able to make money off of it.
Like to be able to be fairly compensated for it.
And I think that this is gonna start another wave.
I think, you know, in the pandemic,
you saw this kind of rise of the people
when it came to like Wall Street bets, right?
And I think that is, it's out there.
It's out there in the zeitgeist.
People are understanding and are waiting and are hungry.
And this is what we're seeing.
And this is why I think kind of social five,
I'll call it 1.0, right?
Had some legs.
What we're just trying to do is we want to make sure
that not only does it have legs, but it's like sustainable.
And this is why we want to mix in and we think that like group trading and being able to
do the copy training is just kind of the initial, you know, shot across the bow here.
We have a lot of other things that are coming up and who knew this kind of wave rise of AI and
what that is going to do.
And again, we just were kind of fortunate that we started in these chat-based platforms
because that's just a natural interface for AI as well.
Just happens to be a natural interface.
So it's super exciting and empowering, I think.
And that's what we want to do is just add value to our user base.
And I think that's kind of how we as a team,
this is how I think about it in terms of like this short time
here on Earth being able to make that dent in the universe
and empower others. And that's kind of what motivates us. time here on earth being able to make that dent in the universe and you know
empower others and that's that kind of what motivates us and that's the ethos I
think in terms of like crypto web 3 is just positive so James this was rad I'm
super excited and I'm so happy that we found each other through Caleb and get
the help out here but I do gotta go in here in a couple minutes, man.
Everything that you said here is just super exciting.
And I'm really trying to dive in on the first key parts
and help launch this thing.
So we're Brian from AlphaGoatheverhere.
Me and my whole team are helping out
and just really, really thankful that
you're giving us the opportunity to help.
I feel the same way.
So let's close out and I just want to give props to Brian and the Alpha Growth team.
They've been great.
Super insightful team.
They're all right.
Like they're all right.
I wouldn't say it's a little bit of a, it's a little bit much.
Let's let them work a little bit first, but they're all right.
All right. They're all right. I think that I've definitely seen the value here.
And I think this is just the beginning. But I want to say thanks to Brian and the Alpha
growth team and thanks for coming up here too, because I think we're in you know, we're in the arena.
We're gonna fuck around and figure this out.
And I think this is super exciting.
And I think most of all, like first safety,
security number one, like this is why we want to make sure
that like we are not custodial from the jump here.
But that being said, this is all about creativity are not custodial from the jump here.
But that being said, this is all about creativity and having fun.
And, you know, let's make this sustainable for all of us.
Awesome, James, thank you so much.
Very excited.
I gotta get back to work and start hustling for you some more.
Awesome, thanks, Brian.
So do you wanna stick around
and do a DG in space after this?
I know we're going to close out this one, but I was thinking about running a DJ in
space anyway.
You want to talk around, find out even there about telephones in an unrecorded manner?
Yeah, let me check my schedule real quick.
Yeah, I have a few minutes.
Dancing, dancing, boys. That's like 30 minutes. I love to and I just want to I want to give props
to Candy here for hosting this. Always gonna have fantastic job as always so
great to have Candy here to host. Thank you, James. I am just excited that so many of our amazing community members
showed up as well. This is something that we are all super excited about. The launch
of tele-friends, the extension of Collab Landon to new types of token gating. And like,
we're super hyped. It's been really hard to keep all of these things a secret. So the fact
that we get to start talking about them now is, oh my gosh, I'm so happy. So yay for that. Thank you, Fluto for inviting James to another space because that's really exciting for us as well. We'll be sure to tune in over there. So everybody here, make sure to give him a follow so that way you can keep up to date on what's happening after the space in the next one.
And with that I think we'll close out here, but we will see you all again maybe in Fluted Space
definitely next week. Check out the pin tweets here in the telephone sweater to get all the
info as it comes out. Awesome. Thanks everyone, really appreciate it. Thank you all. Have a fabulous day, fabulous weekend.
Keep staying awesome.
Awesome. Thanks. Bye.
