so yo what's up we're about to get started in just a second like Thank you. I'm waiting to go. Thank you. oh We're giving away two claw plays today.
We're giving away two claw plays.
Maybe more.
Maybe more.
Let's get these comments up.
Make sure you already have a BZ account.
Link in bio.
Like, comment, repost a space for awareness.
We have a really cool guest in the house.
We're about to start in about 10 seconds.
Thank you so much for tuning in, guys.
Happy Thursday.
Hope you had a good day.
Let's go. I can push my readers, don't let something grow with it Don't let something inside the army Don't know what I'm gonna say or not
I just need one reason, I'm gonna do some rocks
It's all different things, it's not what I want
I know you put your reasons here
I know you're still here
I know you're still here
I know you're still here I know you don't feel that rage But I can't feel it with the sea All right, let's get this thing going.
Welcome to the spaces. It's been a wild week for everybody. This is
profit speaking on the BZ account, if it's not obvious. Welcome in. Thank you for being here.
We have a few more friends pulling up too. It's going to be a little vibe. We're about to put on
a little vibe. But yeah, as you guys guys know we do these spaces every so often we feature
different collectors different uh movers and shakers in the industry and i personally got
the chance to uh to meet our guest tonight uh at a sneaker show or excuse me a card show recently
um and it was dope he was he was was really nice he was teaching me the ropes i didn't even realize
how much emotion this guy had and uh he was just helping me answer basic-ass questions about, especially like sports cards
and stuff like that. But I'm hyped because not only does this person generate over, I think it's
like a couple hundred thousand a month in revenue on whatnot, but he really has mastered this shit.
He got an art to it and uh it's very commendable
i love it super young as well um i won't take too much uh time talking and and you know saying
the most but we got maddox here the co-owner uh founder of splash cards i don't know i want to
ruin that intro too much brother but um you can un-mic and definitely give a little background
of yourself thanks for pulling up.
Yo, Profits, how we doing?
Appreciate you letting me join this.
Hope everyone's doing well tonight.
This is, like, one of my first, like, spaces and everything.
So this is, like, pretty cool to, like, finally get to be able to do.
I know me and you, Profits, talked about doing something like this for a while now and uh we uh met and uh
fanatics fest up in new york it was a great time um and told me about all this space and stuff and
was like hey you gotta gotta come on the show and so um i'm maddox i'm the partial owner i'm a 50
50 owner with my buddy on splash cards um Um, we run, uh, mainly football singles, but also do
basketball singles and, uh, baseball singles and a lot of like miscellaneous stuff as well. Um,
whether that's V friends or, you know, WWE UFC, um, all different types of singles like that.
Um, we do over half a million dollars in sales a month currently.
And so that's been pretty popping recently. And we're about to hit 100,000 followers on whatnot.
So just all this combined has been a pretty cool experience. And I'm glad that
profits I got to meet you on the way. So.
Bro, it was a it was a time.
It was definitely a time jump into, jump into, um, your background a bit before kind of starting
all this off.
And if you don't want to share like your age or anything, you don't have to, but you're
pretty young.
And I think, uh, you definitely have like a really good head on your shoulders.
And I think that's super commendable in this, in this little corner of the internet, a lot
of collectors, a lot of DGens, a lot of people into crypto, into art.
And it's actually wild how much like there's a lot of young people here really doing stuff.
And then also, in my opinion, just have a gambling addiction and they think that's going to last forever.
But you've kind of flipped it and created a business for yourself.
So if you don't mind jumping into that and what kind of helped you create that mindset.
Yeah, so I'm actually 19 years old right now.
I started all this about five years ago when I was like 14, 15,
kind of started with Pokemon and got into this with my mom
this with my mom actually giving me an Elite Trainer Box for my birthday. And I opened that
actually giving me an Elite Trainer Box for my birthday.
and ended up selling it a few years later down the line. I found out what sports cards were,
and I got into sports cards after doing Pokemon for about two years. The Pokemon Ventures were
definitely a fun time. And I still know a little bit about Pokemon my name on like my screen name on
everything's m.pokeworld but I don't know the market as well as I used to and so just hopping
into the sports cards now has been a pretty profitable and a very fun business something
I've always done and yeah I'm just glad that I'm able to share this experience
now, like on stream with hundreds and hundreds of people every night. And it grows by the day. So
you know, gotta love it there. It's been a very good journey, though. A lot of cool people on the
way. When did you start? How long has it been on Whatnot? So we started our Whatnot channel.
I guess the very start of it was my business partner, Sam, who started his channel in November of 2024.
And me and him, I think he gained about 8,000 followers over the span of November 24 to February 25.
span of November 24 to February 25. I came in in February 25 with him because I'd been in a
past whatnot business and I did selling with someone else and then I kind of merged with my
buddy Sam and now we're at like 96,000 followers. So from February to now is I guess how long we've
really been locked in on it and actually seen some exponential growth in it.
Yeah, man, that's like a hustle.
I spent a lot of money on there.
I need to stop getting on whatnot, to be honest.
Every time I log in, I'm like, oh, let me just – I was like, oh, shit, this is a Louis.
This card or whatever it is
it's a good price and then i know that bills ran up um i know there's there's tons of like hype
around the hobby in it and you've been in it for you know a little bit now any feedback on like
is there ever a bad time to get into it do you ever feel like it's oversaturated like how do
you go about that um yeah i mean there's a there's
definitely a lot of highs and lows in cards and even for pokemon i uh sadly got out of pokemon
at quite literally the worst time if anyone had been uh recently like following pokemon and how
the market has been on that shit i got got out, uh, early 2020 or sorry, late 22, early 23.
Um, and so ever since then, those boxes have just skyrocketed. I mean, I remember buying like
vivid voltage boxes or even evolutions boxes for a hundred bucks a pop, um, on the booster boxes,
like 600 a case. And, uh, now I think those things are selling for like $2,500 all the way up to like $7,000 for some of the cases.
So that's been kind of crazy.
But yeah, I think there's a lot of like trends and everything, even with the sports cards as well.
I think we're definitely in a very flourishing market.
Prices have almost been at a peak even since the bubble, the COVID. And so
seeing prices that are, you know, semi similar to that time being, there's just a very big audience
growing for that. And hundreds and thousands of people coming in every day learning what sports cards are
and everything so um i think that's been a pretty pretty good journey and i think a lot of people
have been joining in and seeing uh where this sports card market could be um even from like
an investing standpoint especially with the higher end cards.
Dude does not sound 19, bro.
Oh my God.
This guy's ahead of his fucking time.
I love it.
Um, I, uh, I mentioned to the, to you earlier, I think I, when I first, when we first met,
I kind of told you a little bit of like, obviously what industry I'm in and such.
Um, have you ever been into crypto or like NFTs or anything like that?
Yeah, I have before. When I was younger, I kind of got a little bit into like the NFTs, I think on Magic Eden or whatever. And me and my buddies kind of messed with that when
Solana was like $30 or $40 a coin.
And I found an account that I had started with my buddies years ago or whatever.
And it had like five Solana in it.
So when I cashed that out, I was like, oh, that's nice.
So that was like a nice little four-figure check coming in randomly.
It was pretty awesome.
So I've touched into the NFT space, but not really uh researched into it super heavy um on the crypto side i uh i hold a lot of like the main the main coins like bitcoin xrp ethereum
a little bit of that stuff um but haven't really gotten into like the alt coins or
um what you would call i guess like meme coins or whatever but or even the
projects I haven't haven't seen a lot about that but it's definitely something that you know with
an online market and online world that is emerging in front of all of our eyes I think that it's
definitely something that I need to get a little more fluent about because it definitely could be the future yeah no it's um it's inevitable i mean it's it's definitely not
going anywhere and personally as somebody that's been you know into crypto for quite some time and
then um also into collecting mainly sneakers at first and then got into pokemon um like heavily
like obviously i collected when i was a kid but just on a real business level in the last few years, definitely that COVID run up was
made me FOMO. And then I, uh, you know, a few years later, it's like, Oh shit, all this shit
went up. So it's all good. You know, I'm literally in my office right now. There's fucking Pokemon
everywhere. And I definitely need to like sell some of this. But as far as what I was getting at, though, is just the power of...
And I don't know.
You don't have to be too in the know about things or anything.
I'm not a super tech brain.
But I think it's been really cool to see the on-chain products that have come about.
I know I told you a little bit about BZ.
It's a marketplace.
And also a gamified layer. It's like a gotcha claw machine where you can put in 30 bucks,
50 bucks and, you know, pull something crazy. And I'm sure you see other, you know, gotchas
online and things of that nature. I'm actually curious your perspective. Cause you're kind of
a fresh, I think mind opposed to a lot of other people that are just stuck in this little world
all day. You deal with a lot of people that only do cards, that are just only into that.
What do you think people's perspective are on the future of AI?
Look, we've got tag grading.
We've got AGS now for that.
That's already shifting a bit.
I know it's not the hypest yet, but it's starting to kind of get attention.
hypest yet but it's starting to kind of get attention but do you do you have any like take
or anything on like i guess we call it web too but or or normies you know no no disrespect do
you think people in in the original collector world are going to like try to or get with the
program in a sense with the new technology that's like coming out yeah i think we've definitely
seen a shift of that too um already i think that the old collector, the collector that's anywhere from the age of 35 to 80 years old, kind of like quote unquote an old head.
I think with them changing from going from Beckett handbooks to check the value of your cards to kind of changing and actually turning it into, you know, I have to look it up online on the internet.
like Card Ladder and eBay and stuff like that.
I think that evolving is definitely going to be something
that is harder for the older collector.
But in terms of new technology, I think PSA and people like TAG and AGS,
I think they're all doing a really good job right now
on making grading as easy as possible and as, how do you say that, as
non-biased as possible. I think that they've done a pretty good job in that. And the way you can
just go on PSA app and scan your cards in and then just send them off and they're automatically graded
I think that's definitely good. So like with new to new technology like that type of
Stuff if that's what you were getting at. I think it's definitely changing the
Changing the perceptive of just the regular collector for sure
Yeah, definitely and again, I know stuff takes a while look i mean the the whole authentication
for sneakers for example that has like i don't i feel like barely has still been solved and
it's been years i mean i think entropy's maybe kind of breaking away and and doing stuff with
that a lot of more you know a lot more companies and stuff are starting to use them but uh everything
it's just like everything else it takes takes time, right? Everything takes time.
And I hope it gets better.
I think it'll get better, right?
Are you, I mean, you're 19.
You're definitely the eighth demographic right now.
And obviously you have a friend group, I'm sure.
What is, what do you got, like, you're, so I say this because also I'm, you know, I'm a few years older than you.
So I'm definitely not in the same brain doesn't mean doesn't mean anything but my point is is there like
a super degenic like how degen are you brother like are you are you like do you love the do you
like ripping shit like how are you pretty calm are you used to be like what's what's going on over there? So yeah. And no, um, I used to be a very DJ and I would rip, rip boxes just nonstop.
And, you know, you know, with ripping that you can lose a lot of money and everything
like that.
So I think I definitely fell into that trap and there was definitely like a few things
that I fell into, um, with like cards and all of that, just ripping. And, um,
that definitely lowers your bankroll. Um, it's not that you're going to go up sometimes on whatnot,
you know, you can find good deals and everything like that. Um, but you know, when you're buying
into the breaks and everything too, um, that's also something that I like had gotten into and like, I still do here and there,
but, um, it's mainly out of like support of my friends that, that, you know, do repacks or do,
uh, different games or whatever on whatnot, um, for cards. But, um, in a sense, I would say that,
you know, I can't even go into a fucking casino. So in that sense,
I'm not degen in that point where when I go to a card show, I'm just going to go to the casino
right after when I'm done and spend a couple grand. Um, but yeah, I would say, you know,
like even in cards, you know, when you're, uh, making deals with people and doing like coin
flips or dice rolls,
whatever that, I mean, that's degen in itself too, right?
You have a $200 card and, you know, someone's like,
do you want to do free or $400?
Like sometimes I'm taking that chance.
Sometimes I'm not.
Sometimes I'm not, you know?
At Fanatics Fest, I was around um and the people were like you
know obviously selling and somebody was like doing a it was like a super og pack i think it was like
15k i was like yeah you want to do a coin flip and he looked at me like i was crazy we're not
doing a fucking coin flip yeah yeah i've seen that stuff and like even like some of the friends that
i like travel with that come to these shows and everything with me,
they'll do crazy fucking coin flips.
Sometimes it's not even for cards.
They're just like, hey, you want to do 5K cash?
And someone wins, someone loses.
It's not the smartest thing.
I've never partaken in it.
And I'm pretty proud to say I haven't.
And I don't plan to.
So, yes, I'm DJ, but no, I'm not DJing.
Smart, smart guy.
That's why he's going to keep his riches.
And I see, like, I know you have a lot of collection,
and I'm sure you have insurance and all that.
Do you have any feedback on people that vault?
Or, like, for example, if you have any collection on BZ, it's vaulted. You know, we have, like, three or four people that travel, like, for example, if you have any collection on BZ, it's vaulted.
And, you know, we have like three or four people that travel like abroad and all the time and they don't want to worry about, you know, their collection, if it's safe or whatever the case is.
So what do you are you big on that? Are you like, nah, I'd rather have all my cards like holding myself or like what do you think about vaulting and like securing them somewhere?
vaulting and like securing them somewhere? So from an investor standpoint, I think it's a great
idea somewhere where you can keep your cards and, you know, know that they're safe without even
having to blink an eye. I think that's amazing. For me personally, I do have like a safety deposit
box or whatever that I've used in the past to store cards that I've been wanting to like hold or
wait for investments so that I don't sell them. Because, you know, sometimes when you have a five,
$10,000 card, that's holding up some capital, you're definitely more inclined to sell it if
you want to buy something else. But, you know, like with the vaulting or deposit boxes in general,
like just keeping it there and not being able to touch it,
I think is a good thing for investors.
And it's something that I've done before,
but I think I move, like personally,
I move through cards too fast to just put something up.
Now there obviously is a few pieces that I have,
like Michael Jordan rookies.
And I just recently picked up like a Steph Curry rookie gold numbered.
And I paid like 5K for that for a PSA 8.
And, you know, I'm just going to hold that for a while.
But, you know, there may come a time where someone wants to give me $8,000
in trade value.
So I'm always going to have it at a show if someone wants to trade for it or something
like that for sure. Very smart. Guys, I'm feeling pretty excited over here. Maddox has me ready to
make a whatnot account and become a seller. Whoever right now for the next 15 minutes,
actually you do 20 minutes. Anybody that plays the claw can be the 30, it can be the 50. I'm
going to match your play. So yeah, anybody that plays the claw can be the 30, it can be the 50. I'm going to match your play.
So yeah, anybody that plays the claw right now in the next 20 minutes, I'm going to,
and you drop it below. Uh, we're going to match your play. Hopefully you guys don't run it up
on me. Cause I only have so much in this wallet, but, um, Maddox, you want to share any, you want
to share any, um, I know you say you got something going on this weekend, please share that, talk
about that. And then if you want to text me the link or if you see the little bubble below you could post it and then
i could pin it up top for you yeah so um you can hear me right yeah you're good okay cool um yeah
so this weekend we're doing our 100k stream um our 100 000 follower stream so that's gonna be
pretty big i'm gonna post the link down below to our whatnot.
But yeah, the stream is going to be crazy. We have a ton of five-figure auctions that we're going to be running.
We have a lot of four-figure, three-figure, two-figure auctions that we're going to be running as well.
It should be a pretty awesome stream. I hope to see you guys there.
And yeah, the link's down below if you guys want to go check out my profile or just hop on Whatnot.
Don't spend too much.
Only spend as much as you can.
But we'd love to see you guys in there and we'd love to grow your collections.
Hell, yeah.
I was going to say in the beginning when you started all this off,
was it like – I think this was scaring me because I really do this I could I have a lot of shit I could just say to yourself but like
what like were you in the red for a while is it is it really really all about strategy like because
I I've seen I have another friend that sells not as a high volume but he's been killing it the last
couple of months it's actually been cool to see but he's like yo this card's worth five bucks it sells for 25 and then another card that's you know uh maybe less or whatever it
is it sells for less so it looks like it evens out over time but that's i'm imagining there's
some strategy behind that for sure this is this is something that like comes up with people all
the time you know they're like how do whatnot people make money or how do you know like people see the five dollar cards go for 20 30 bucks and they're like oh my
gosh but i think that's really just something that goes into it um it's partially you're supporting
the stream but you're also getting yourself a great card maybe you paid a couple bucks up for
it but you got to think um with all these whatnot streamers, I mean, they're getting taken 13% commission.
They have to pay for that.
There's a lot of a lot of these whatnot streamers have offices that they have to pay for a lot of supplies that they have to pay for to keep this up and running.
So all that stuff is, I guess, goes into it.
You know, at the start, we lost five.
I will say five figures we we lost at least five
figures the first couple months um that we did whatnot but you know you got to lose some money
to make some money sometimes and uh you know it's uh all in the dollar cost averaging so
you know that's valid that makes sense it's like coins it's literally like all exactly exactly
dcaing dcaing um nah cool man i appreciate you this has been fun definitely uh definitely don't
want to take too much of your time you definitely need to uh get get your twitter popping it will
help you make sure you guys throw a follow to my guy real quick let's follow splash let's help let's help them build it up
ed ed you have any questions or anything yeah i'll take questions if there's any questions if
anyone has any yeah i think this is a great moment for me to ask because i've seen whatnot
all over like tiktok and all that stuff i have not looked at it i just went to whatnot for like
i don't know 10 seconds and i was fucking overwhelmed i had no clue what was going on
there was a bunch of stuff i'm getting notifications all the time is it is it kind of like uh i guess
uh drip shop i think is the other one it's like a streamer based platform where where you can sell
cards and basically rip packs and stuff like that yes it's exactly like that funny you bring up drip
i actually um when i started pokemon in like 21 22 um drip actually reached out to me to be one
of their first pokemon sellers and um under m.poker world that's what I did for a while so I started on drip
and I mean it's practically the same exact format you know it's it's buying and selling online
whether whether you're gonna be you know how do you say it whether you're gonna be like selling
live auctions at an hour you you're just selling buy it now.
Yeah, it's practically the same.
And I would say Whatnot definitely has some more marketing money behind it and all that stuff.
So when you get on their channel or on their platform in general, you're definitely going to have more of a wow factor versus when you go on Drip, for example.
that's interesting. The other thing that I was thinking about,
cause I make content,
like I make Pokemon content on tech talk,
Instagram,
and also YouTube.
I've seen this,
like the streams and all that stuff.
And I'm like,
do you need like a wider,
do you need like a wider audience at that point?
Like what,
how big is a big enough audience for you to start streaming and doing that?
Cause I'm, I want to stream, I want to rip open packs.
But last time I did, I did it with like a journey together.
I opened like 30 to 40 packs on stream.
I had a blast.
I got a bunch of packs, but I mean a bunch of hits, but the thing is like, you can't
only do that.
So like so many times, right. Unless you have infinite fucking money and you have a bunch of hits. But the thing is, like, you can't only do that so many times, right?
Unless you have infinite fucking money and you have a bunch of packs, right?
Or someone sponsoring.
For sure, for sure.
And I think, like, with the sports, it's the exact same.
You know, you always got to have the money for the inventory when you're keeping,
or I guess when we're even buying over six figures and cards a week,
just trying to keep our inventory up and everything.
That's a challenge in itself.
And there's employees that we have now.
We've hired employees to do our shipping and everything.
And there's people that help us with sorting before the stream,
like pre-stream to make sure everything goes smoothly.
But I think it's not even so much about the uh like how many people you have
i think it's just putting yourself out there and just starting it and i think slowly you're
gonna build your you're gonna build your uh clientele and just in general people are gonna
want to rip with you more um once you build that loyalty fan base. How many followers do you have on Twitter?
On Twitter is almost 21K.
Yeah, I mean, I think that's more than enough people to where you can, you know, I would tweet out like,
hey, you know, I'm starting my whatnot and everything.
Like, I'd love for you guys to come and support it.
I think you have more than enough people behind you
to start that.
And sometimes, like, even when you're making content creation uh just putting videos out on like tiktok and just getting organic views and all that stuff
um has even helped us in our business so i i would say start as soon as you can because
today is no better than tomorrow might as well start it now you know i mean yeah i mean that's
true i'll take a look at it i'll take a look at i
got uh i downloaded it i think it wasn't like over a week ago so i really got to take the time to
look at it and see how how it actually goes i guess one of the uh larger questions would be like
uh so you mentioned you're more into like the sports side right yes um i've seen there's a
bunch of pokemon stuff and i guess the marketing works in a different way right now.
It's kind of, I guess, easier for me because I do have my other channels and I also have Twitter as like my own marketing.
What would you say is like the better way to market within whatnot?
Do they have some sort of like, I don't know if it's a creator type of program or
do they have some sort of like boosting that they do um yeah there's there's definitely like uh
certain types of boost or like there's even community boost where when you're in stream
people can pay like as a community up to i think you need like 25 and they give you like a
a boost to your show and that'll bring like people in.
So that's definitely like one way that they promote.
I think a big thing about like whatnot in general is you need to have good
thumbnails. You need to have a very professional profile for
like your brand in general.
So I think that's like another very important thing.
Um, there's not a ton that you can do within whatnot for marketing, but there's a lot of ways,
you know, posting on your Twitter, posting on your YouTube that you're going to go live,
I think is the marketing that's going to help you better, especially with
that already pretty decent,
I would say pretty big following on Twitter.
I think those people would definitely back you,
whether they're supporters or not supporters,
whatever they are.
But I think they would still watch you and you don't need many people in
your room to make sales.
That's true.
you need just a couple of people interested.
Absolutely.
Two people bidding against each other can make it go to them. That's true. That's true. I mean, you need just a couple of people interested. Absolutely. Two people bidding against each other can make it go to a minute.
That's true, that's true.
I'll take a look. I'll take a look.
Do it. Good luck.
Thank you, man.
Legend, great questions, dude.
This has been super fun. You see, I told you it was going to be fun. Maddox told you.
Hell yeah, this is great. This is great. X-Factor, you pulled up. You see, I told you it was going to be fun, Maddox. I told you. Hell yeah. This is great.
This is great.
Xpact, you pulled up.
Do you have any questions?
No worries.
What's up?
Good afternoon, guys.
This is kind of my flywheel here.
RWAs and cards.
I love that Web 3 and Web 2 are coming together for this, so I'm pretty bullish on that.
Splash cards, quick question, man.
Maybe you already answered it, but what's channel uh mainly do like is it mystery packs and if if so uh do you source your own product so right now what we do is uh strictly singles so we're doing football
singles basketball singles baseball singles um and just a bunch of miscellaneous as well whether
it's wwe or V friends or,
whatever we want to sell on there.
If we put it in front of the camera,
it'll sell 10,
10 to 30 seconds.
Everything starts at a dollar and it's live auctions.
that's awesome.
I used to do live breaks and mystery packs on,
on whatnot.
I had a card shop for about five years.
very familiar with the platform. I'm very bullish on bringing it, uh, I had a card shop for about five years. So, uh, very,
very familiar with the platform. I'm very bullish on bringing it, uh,
the exposure to web three, man. So I appreciate you coming up here and, uh,
getting more exposure to the industry. Everybody go check out this man's
channel. Get some good DJ and fun over there.
Appreciate you. Appreciate you.
You're all done. Go ahead.
I was, I was going to say that it's funny that you you mentioned the
word degen because i don't really see like too much of a difference between web 2 collecting
and web 3 collecting at this point like with like pokemon cards and everything that you do
like if you want to do it uh like for example on bz you can do it with your crypto wallet you can
do it with your card you can all you can do that it's just, for example, on BZ, you can do it with your crypto wallet. You can do it with your card.
You can do that.
It's just like there is no clear line for me right now on both sides.
Both people are the same type of degen that they will buy a mystery slab and see what they're going to get.
Because that's part, like, they're paying not for what they might get.
They're paying for the actual experience.
Of course, if they get something cool great that's awesome but it's not like i'm expecting to get something good every
single time and i think that's going to be one of the bigger things uh within web 3 and and pokemon
or i mean tcg collecting in general i think that's like the the line is not going to be
there for much longer it's going going to get blurred real quick.
And that's kind of what I'm hoping, man.
Right now, the advantage of Web2 or what whatnot has is you've got this live chat room.
Everybody's cheering you on.
You build a little community, and people are just pulling for each other.
And you don't really have that right now in Web3.
You open a pack, it's kind of a very singular experience.
So hopefully in the future, Courtyards and Fidgetals and apps like that will piece it together.
Because it's definitely a massive market, man.
So looking forward to that for sure.
When are we going to get some streaming on BZ?
That's going to be an interesting one.
I'm not sure what I'm allowed to say.
No, that was great, man.
Thank you, Maddox, for pulling up.
Definitely can stick around.
I'll leave it open for a few more minutes if you guys want to chat a little bit.
I'm actually trying to catch these restocks.
Anybody have links, let me know. I know Mark is down there always got the fucking restocks. He's always hitting the restocks. Anybody have links, let me know.
I know Mark is down there,
always got the fucking restocks.
He's always hitting the restocks.
Where are you getting the restocks?
Pokemon Center and then Target, Walmart, you know.
I literally just came back from a whole run
that I did from like even freaking Hobby Lobby
to Target to Costco to another Target
to Walmart. I got nothing.
Well, I got one Destin
Rivals booster bundle in Hobby
Lobby out of all places. I have no idea
I don't even know
how people catch the restocks.
It's crazy. I've never seen
anything in Target at this point.
So Target... It's it's crazy. I've never seen anything in Target at this so so target
What happened bro you cut out go ahead oh
No, they restock on Fridays target
Is it all? Not every target
Not well, then not every target
So Not every target. Not every target. I would say majority, though, because they do restock.
So this is how I go about it, right, when restocking.
If a new product is not dropping on a Friday, check your store on a Wednesday, Thursday. It's typically a good restock day.
Walmarts typically restock overnight or first thing in the morning.
So if you're not first at the store, typical at Walmart, typically you're going to get,
the scouppers are going to hit it and you're not going to get nothing.
Um, targets, most targets are starting to do, um, a two per skew limit.
Um, how many are enforcing that i can tell you the targets here where i am
it's built into the register and into the system whether it's self-checkout or not
you can only scan two per so there's that my go-to's are actually uh barnes and nobles um
five below uh if you have a pop shelf near you, they also sell cards.
A lot of people didn't know that, um, your grocery stores for check lane blisters are
pretty common.
Um, I kind of stay away from Walmart and Target just because they're usually picked
just because they're usually picked clean, like right out of the gate.
clean, like right out of the gate.
And then shout out to the BZ community,
because they're the ones that's always typically put me on
when Pokemon Center does their restocks or they're dropping something.
I can usually get the initial noti from BZ before I'll get it in the Discord
or one of the homies that hit me up.
So shout out to the community,
the BZ community,
because, you know what I'm saying,
it's a tight one.
Some real cool ass people in there.
You know what I'm saying?
Be able to trade amongst each other
and stuff like that.
It's a real dope community.
If you're not in the BZ community,
go get in the BZ community.
But yeah, restocks,
I usually, typically if it's Friday,
you probably missed it for the week typically if it's friday you probably you probably missed
it for the week so it's best to try between monday wednesday thursday being your latest date
yeah that makes sense because uh i was told today that there was a restock in the target that i went
to uh yesterday which is interesting because i was there at 9 30 in the target that I went to, uh, yesterday, which is interesting. Cause I was there
at nine 30 in the night and they had nothing. So I asked him, the lady said, no, yeah, the,
uh, she came over at 10 PM. So I guess some targets just do a late, late restock. And then
if you find it in the morning, cool. But if you're there at late at night, then I mean,
that's, that's probably when it's going to happen.
So I think the Wednesday, Thursday restock is a good shout.
I think that's probably going to be it.
Yeah, the Wednesday, Thursday restock, that's the move.
Because you've got to figure, I'm going to be real.
These scalpers now, they are tracking the vendors.
They know what they look like.
They know what they drive.
They know what their schedules.
How do I know this?
Because I've talked to scalpers.
And they're like, yeah, we know the vendor.
There's Facebook groups set up for it.
They're tracking the vendors.
They know the routes.
They know the alternate routes.
I swear they're putting Apple tags.
They're putting AirT tags in their cars or something
they know they have to because like the way that these people are like it's like and it's the same
group of people at every store so like it's literally you'll go to a target you'll catch
the restock you're like oh snap i caught the restock and then you'll walk out the store and
you'll see a group of people if you walk over to them i guarantee you they'll know where the next
restock is.
That's how I started catching on was I started paying attention.
I'm like, oh, they just came in.
They just bought cards, and they're all together.
Let me go see what they're doing.
I'm like, hey, y'all trade?
They're like, what's up?
They're like, oh, no, no, we resell, or I'm a whatnot streamer, or I do this, or I'll do that.
I'm like, oh, say word.
How do y'all know the schedule, and can y'all put me on?
That's incredible. Yeah, that's how I started. Look, networking, baby.
Yeah, I mean, yeah. I mean, I'm good at yapping, as you can see. So I'll probably if I ever find one of those, I'm going to yap my way.
And one of the things, one quick tip for Target. Yes, it is enforced two per person, per item.
But the one thing that you can do, if you want to, is that you can go to register, pay your two stuff, and then you can literally just go again.
It's per transaction, not per person.
So I think it's fine that way.
I had a friend that did that.
I wasn't too happy about that because he didn't get me anything.
But he opened everything, so it's good.
But yeah, it's per transaction.
Bro, I've lost friends for shit like that.
I mean, you can lose friends for less.
You didn't tell me that was restock you motherfucker
this is funny that this is like all coming back now um with like the restocks and all i remember
like even when i was doing pokemon in the earlier times and when sports got super hot i don't
remember if anyone remembers that but sports ended up getting like super hot in 2020 like when all the
new product came out with like joe bur Justin Herbert, Jordan Love, all those people.
And people were waiting in lines.
And it's exactly how this Pokemon restock stuff is happening now.
It's literally 2020 all over again except sports cards.
So just seeing this is definitely different,
but not something that hasn't happened before.
And I know that there are a bunch of like crazy people out there
who are trying to catch all the restocks and know the vendors and all that stuff.
So that stuff's definitely happened.
Well, that's good insight because like the way you saw that with the sports before,
do you think that's something that will probably happen with Pokemon right now?
Because right now it's a huge craze.
I think it was a year or maybe a year and a half ago,
I could go into any Target or Walmart and see something on the shelves at least every single day.
But do you think this is something that will happen?
Do they need to print way more than they're doing?
Like, what needs to happen for this to calm down?
So, with the sports cards, the way that that kind of stopped, everyone got set to that two per skewed limit.
And there were eventually, like, if this shit keeps happening with all the Pokemon, you know, fights breaking out.
You see all that stuff happening all over.
Like, the way that it kind of stopped with sports was just that there were people literally standing and handing out two per person.
And, you know, like, the storage just got super strict on it.
And it eventually, the way it pretty much stopped was just more product was dropping.
the way it pretty much stopped was just more product was dropping.
So it was more, it was easier for the collectors to get, you know,
the stuff that's not worth a ton of money.
I don't know if you guys know like the sets for,
for football cards and stuff like that,
but optic and prism were always the expensive ones.
And people would like flip those for, you know, retail was 25.
I remember them going for 75, 80, all the way up to $130 at some point.
So I think this will keep happening until, you know, either more product is dropped or, you know, the craze goes away.
The prices drop in any way.
That's also another way that it slowed down was the, uh, resale prices were just
not what people were expecting when they were trying to flip, you know, a $40 box would
resale for 55 and then it became, oh, I don't need this anymore.
That's interesting.
I've been, uh, I've been kind of tracking, uh, not in been uh i've been kind of tracking uh not in a weird way but
kind of tracking some vendors on on ebay and seeing how much they are actually selling like
throughout the week it has been going down so people are less uh expected to like buy stuff at
incredible weird prices. So I
guess it's something that's going to happen.
The other thing is what Pokemon
announced today.
They're basically
putting an SIR that's $180
as the promo
in the next thing they're going to be releasing.
It does have this extra stamp
on it, but I do think
that's kind of like their way of
like you know what we're gonna make the prices go down we're gonna print a lot we're gonna do like
whatever it takes so the prices start going down a little bit are you saying they declared the
they declared that that promo was worth that or that's what the bottom no it's just like the
because the that's an sr that's in a normal pack, like the Destin Rivals set. And the same art is being used as a promo in that premium box.
It's the same art, but it just has a stamp on it.
So usually when that happens, the normal card value goes down.
And maybe the one with the stamp kind of goes up a little bit.
But it's basically one of the best cards in the set,
and they're just putting the stamp on it and being like,
you know what, here it is again.
If you want to pay for it as much as you want to pay for it, then cool,
but I don't think it's going to happen.
We'll just have to wait and see when it drops.
So is that trend happening with the cards, I guess?
Are the value of the non-stamped one going down or no?
Well, we don't know yet because they just announced it today.
I haven't checked if the value of the card has actually gone down right now.
But with the announcement itself, it's probably changed the picture.
Brad, you had your hand up? Go ahead.
Oh, yeah, GM
fan. Yeah, it was
just a question regarding, like, essentially, yeah,
I'm glad that we actually got onto the topic of sports cards,
you know, because as I'm
watching my kid out here, if you hear him, hang on.
No, you're good, you're good.
All right, yeah, my bad.
He's a monster. As I'm
starting to rotate some sports betting
profits around i've been looking a lot of uh collectibles and sports collectibles i was at
my shop the other day grabbing a new set of magic cards and uh they sell a ton of sports cards and
it's like i haven't bought sports cards for us since like shit like early 2000s type shit you
know like it's been so long i don't even know what I'm looking at anymore. And hoping that, yeah, with BZ, you know, maybe there are,
is there like a specific category for sports?
Is there a special claw for sports?
Like, how do I go about getting sports cards?
So I can clip it and show critique because I've been saying, yo, we need it.
They have been, we have been actually chatting.
There's a lot of people, especially in the the NBA top shot community that's actually really interested so I think there will be a sports
specific law soon but we there is sports cards on the platform right now I saw some some Kobe's
there's a good amount of stuff right now in the marketplace you can go browse through check out
see if you like anything um but yeah sports sports uh sports card claw definitely loading maybe a splash cards collab
i know i know my guy has a shit ton of inventory we can definitely um do some cool stuff we could
do some cool stuff with that yeah and if there's a sports cards uh specific claw you know i'm sure
we can work something out for the billy community too oh hell yeah that'd be sick that'd be super
dope dude nice to hear from you brad
god damn it only have to be doing the late night spaces for you to fucking pull up on me dude
bro it's been wild i know you're traveling too it's all good dude totally good i'd love to see
it marcus go ahead fam you know yeah i just wanted to chime in on the whole pokemon thing
so if you think about it right the last time that something like this happened, Crown
Zenith, they printed the set into the ground, drove the markets down.
Now, with them doing that, right, it's a catch-22 because now you got products sitting on the
shelf, right?
So what do you do?
You create a bubble, and they started with 151, right?
They get the old OG og collectors the old heads like
me you know i'm saying the 35 plus community and you entice them with things they grew up with right
so you get them collecting again right so they started with 151 and then boom they dropped tcg
pocket right so if you're not ripping live packs and you weren't on tiktok or whatnot or anything
like that now you're ripping
it through the game so now after you rip so many packs you're gonna kind of be like man let me just
go buy a couple packs so then what do we do right around christmas time we drop surgeon sparks one
of the faces of the of the set right boom big set everybody's going crazy at butthole pikachu went
through the roof right boom four hundred400 not worth it in my personal opinion
I don't think the card is that great that's just me I digress but then what do you do you backdoor
with Eevee you drop an Eeveelution set why because the last Eeveelution set of Law of
and Skies that you dropped is doing crazy numbers still to this day so then you drop another one
and you drop another iconic Umbreon
card. Boom, goes through the roof. So now what's happening? All those old sets are now starting to
go up in value because now people are like, well, I can't get my hands on these because they're so
short printed. Let me go get the old stuff. Right. So now you clear out all your back stock and you
free up your printing because Pokemon print sets for every two, they print a set for at least two to three years.
So that's why, like, all these people that's crazy about Prismatic
and Surgeon Sparks, which both have crap pool rates
and honestly are not my two favorite sets in that series.
And I'm a Team Rocket fan.
I love, you know what I'm saying, the Destin Rivals.
Journey Together went bad either.
I actually got some cards in Journey Together that I really like.
But, yeah, all you do is you create the FOMO.
Now, this is not going to stop until after what?
Next year.
Because in February, you're going to hit the 30th anniversary of Pokemon.
And you have Legends of ZA, a new Pokemon game, dropping at the end of this year.
Right? So, they're building this FOMO for a reason, all the hype and driving it.
Right. Increasing. You know what I'm saying? They just had Pokemon Worlds.
That was nuts. If anybody's seen any of the footage from that, that was that was crazy.
Right. So they did it intentionally clear out all the backstop so that they can now make way for all the new stuff that they're going to be dropping because now they ended the scarlet and violet era and now we're
moving into the new um mega era which is the new the new series which is that's going to be
crazy in itself you know what i'm saying with the the talks of phantasmal flames and this like
and if you've noticed pokemon has been stacking drops back to back to back to back to back.
And then they are starting to flood the market with what?
Prismatic, Surging Sparks.
You're starting to see a lot more.
Crazy reprint, Journey Together.
All these things are being reprinted
and then they're starting to drop all the special stuff.
So like he was saying the new team rocket motres um upc that'll be dropping at gamestop later this year um and it is when they
do that whole now see with this this one i don't know right because for journey together they did
the stamp promo with uh our um reshiram right ends reshiram was the stamp promo for that and yes there was a price
you understand a price difference but you got the promo through the enhanced booster box
this is coming through the upc but the team rockets motress is already doing so strong
i can't see it taking too much of a dip, but I can see that the two cards will probably run side by side.
And it also will depend on if this UPC is going to be a GameStop exclusive only.
Because if that's the case, it's also going to drive the price up because it's going to be a scarce product to get.
So that's just things to keep in mind for these upcoming sets.
But yeah, that's just things to keep in mind for these upcoming sets. But yeah, that's it.
Wow, it's already been an hour.
Doesn't it feel like it?
Thank you guys for tuning in.
It was a vibe. If you guys are not in the BZ Discord, make sure you jump in there.
Link in bio.

I went ahead and pinned up his WhatNot stream to the top, so guys, check it out.
He has a big stream this weekend.
Pull up to that if you are definitely into cards, sports cards,
all that good stuff.
But, yeah, Maddox, anything you want to say or share for the people?
And thank you again for pulling up.
It's been fun.
Yeah, I appreciate you having me so much.
This was a ton of fun.
I definitely want to hop on another one of these soon,
talk with some more collectors as those sports collectors kind of find their way,
whether you're a Pokemon person or a sports person.
Definitely hop into that.
We're going to be running some crazy stuff on Sunday.
Hope you guys are there.
