Hello, hello everyone. We're just going to give it a few more minutes for people to have a chance to join before we get started.
All right, we are five minutes past the hour so we can go ahead and get started. Hello and welcome.
Welcome everybody to yet another one of the ebmos community calls hosted by yours truly from the ebmos twitter account.
I represent the EMSC board of element team alongside my co-host here. Kilo. How's it going? Pretty good. It's been pretty eventful a lot going on right now, which I'm sure we'll get into.
100% 100% and yeah I think we will bring up a speaker so that we can have them up here in advance. So I'm going to speak right now. We've had issues with
with speakers and past and whatnot. So hopefully this time it will work out. And as you probably have seen from the announcements this week we'll be talking to the carbon team on their latest integration with the
network and how that's going. But first we can cover some updates. Kilo, can you run us through our agenda for today? Absolutely. I figured it would be the first thing that we could jump into and start talking about is EVM next. That's the first thing I've
on our agenda. So EVMX is pretty exciting. It's something that we've been putting together around consensus in Austin and April, currently sourcing a lot of fun stuff, talk of trucks, after party, speakers, panels, all sorts of things. There's a lot that we can dive into at EVMX, I think.
As far as EVM next, I'm trying to find. We just very recently had a new speaker announcement, and I believe we have a new website as well for EVM next. I'll have to find it.
It's just evmnext.com I believe. Yes. So, evmnext. Hang on, hang on, let's get through the agenda. What's the agenda look like? Absolutely. After evmnext, we can talk about the amount of work that we've been
doing for video resources. We have a lot of video content to start to come out. We have a community educational series. We have three videos in that lineup already talking about various topics that introductory views into crypto and defi and ebmos in general, wallets, what is defi that
kind of thing. It's a lot of fun, really useful to help people that don't know much about the space. Also, in the same kind of vein for educational video content, we have a dev series that I believe we have the first episode that's released and the series is focused more on developers and what they can expect and working with the ecosystem.
Again, it's just going to be another video resource that we have available for people to help build on and expand that knowledge base. After that, we can talk about the new Lava RPC service. So that's going to be kind of interesting and exciting. I know a lot of people will be happy to hear about that.
And of course, as always, we have our guest speaker up here with us on stage. And maybe after that, if we're lucky, we can get an update from another team. All right, super. And folks, I'm trying out something new right here. So as the agenda.
was being introduced, I tried to link out to as many of the tweets that were being talked about as possible. So if you are looking at your screen right now, a lot of the tweets should be pinned.
If you follow me to the very start, so I'm looking at my phone right now and I'm swiping all the way to the right, so the rightmost tweet should be the first EVM next tweet. And that's the first topic we're going to be discussing. And basically we'll go sequentially and try to cover those topics in order.
for your listening and viewing convenience. All right. So do let me know, do tweet at us to know if this new kind of format works because yeah, it'd be very interested to know if it's effective at all or anything like that.
leave a comment under this tweet. I am looking at the comments right now and I do see Jim saying good morning, shout out to you Jim, good morning, GM back. Alright, and so without further ado, we're getting into EVM next, which is
The very first event that is solely organized by the Ebb and Mousqueur Development Group. This is being pushed alongside consensus, which is happening in Austin, Texas at the end of April.
So consensus itself, I think is taking place on the 26th to the 28th or 29th Summer around that date range. Evie and next itself will be taking place on the 27th. We've got an excited and exciting
roster of speakers coming on to discuss what the future of the EVM looks like, what future of cross-chain interactions look like, and what the DAPS will see next year, five years from now, 10.
10 years from now are going to look like essentially. What the Web 3 ecosystem of the future has the possibility to be and we'll have like, you know, we'll be taking, we'll be sure to explore multiple perspectives, multiple angles, things like modular or the modular stack.
things like markets for security. I think you might have heard me talk about this in the past. And so we'll be getting the speakers who work on these respective problems to come on and talk about their thoughts on what's going on.
So, the other thing that we're going to do is to make sure that the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will be speaking on and the speakers will#
To recap, where can you keep up to date with all things EVM next? How can you snag a ticket to attend? Or even where can you view the live streams from the convenience of your home? All that and more. If you just follow the new EVM next page that we see
set up earlier this month. And again, following the tweet that should be pinned on the right most swipe of this community call. So go ahead and follow that account, take a look at all of the announcements that have been made thus far.
And in addition to that, keep up with the speakers as we're announcing them. So so far we've announced speakers from skip protocol working on cross chain MEV. We've announced speakers from saga working on
chainlit orchestration, speakers from Veridice and Topple, and no doubt there are going to be more speakers announced in the coming days. Exciting stuff and yeah, looking forward to you folks keeping up.
Again, the best way to do that is by following the Twitter page and also you can check out evmnext.com for all the details. Super. So that just about covers the first two tweets pinned to this community call.
Next up, we have, you know, next on the agenda, I think Kilo mentioned some of the video content that the core group has been putting out. Kilo, do you want to run us through all the various, you know, playlists we're working on in terms of video content and, you know, where
community can find those and how they're helpful. Absolutely. So the playlists that we're working on on community end, we have essentially, and it's going to essentially be an A to Z guide for new people coming into, you know, if the ecosystem coming in the sphere of these all live on our YouTube channel.
channel. That's youtube.com/@evmos. You can find our playlist there. And again, the community education videos are going to be just that. It's going to try to help walk people through understanding these concepts that are new in crypto and new in defy, you know, what is a defy wallet, what is an EVM, what is IBC, what is
And we want to help break down those barriers and help the people that need these resources to understand what's going on and learn about the environment around them and interact on ebmos. On the other side of that, we have started our development process.
developer video series, which is linked here in the PEND Tweet above. Would you like to jump into your experience with the developer video series and the aims and accomplishments for that one? Yeah, 100%. So, you know, trying to tackle here a broad range of experience levels.
And following from Cody, the video series that was mentioned about starting concepts and all that stuff, the next level up from there is tackling the needs of developers, right?
understandably, intuitively, and trying to gauge what could be helpful for developers when getting started, not just building in Cosmos, but building on Evmos specifically and other EVM chains within the Cosmos ecosystem as well. Keep in mind that very soon EVM chains with
in the Cosmos ecosystem will become IBC enabled with the very first EVM extensions that we're rolling out later next month. And so given that, it's going to be super important to get developers equipped with the proper knowledge base
to understand how to use these EVM extensions. And again, just as a refresher in the EMS Manifesto in February, the EMS Core Group put out the mission vision roadmap for what they'd be working on in the
coming year in 2023 and that looked like the following three pillars, EVM extensions, they have no SSTK, the DAP store. So the very first milestone there, EVM extensions, that's happening later in April, coinciding with the EVM next event that I mentioned earlier.
And EVM extensions are going to enable developers to take the capabilities of the EVM further with the help of the Cosmos SDK. Right? And what this means is that EVM developers who are used to building on Ethereum
And that's why it's extra important for us to put out content that not only targets new developers and introduces them to EVM developers.
But also introduces existing EVM devs to building with the new EVM extensions. Right. And yeah, I guess that's the purpose of this new video series that we're putting out. The first one of which I think is pinning.
And again, third from the right on this community call. So if you take a look at that tweet, like it, share it, check it out, check out the video series, subscribe to the YouTube channel, most importantly, because that's where all the content is going to be coming out. So Kilo, could you
the link to the YouTube channel is youtube.com/ethmos or is it like /c/evmos/at-evmos/at-evmos. And I'm sure if you just type /evmos. But yeah /at-evmos is also
the proper one. So yeah folks check it out, subscribe because that's where all the fresh content is going to be coming out. And I think there will be a few more video series that we'll be adding to the mix here. If you are a developer building on eVMOS or integrated with eVMOS, and I know we have carbon coming on
to talk later. But I see DIA, I see Ernmo space by, and the audience here, I see some folks from the Dow, I see the Demix, the Demix Change account, and the audience here, a few more developers folks. If you want to be featured in
a spotlight that we put up on the EMS YouTube channel, do let us know, do hit us up because that's something that we will be looking to do as well, ecosystem spotlights at some point down the road. So I think all of this and more will
be available for viewers to watch. Sometimes soon but for now, like I mentioned, the easiest way to keep up is to subscribe to follow if you're not already the EMS account, EVM next account, and also the EMS YouTube channel. Yeah, back to you, Kila.
So are we done with this agenda item? Yeah, yeah, I think that we've covered it pretty well. You know, just touching on that topic. Like you said, the one for developers and the one for more new users, I think the important point to realize here is we're doing everything we can to give the tools for everybody to
a prosper and move forward, whether you're a developer, a new user somewhere in between, we want to have these resources available for everybody to help continue their journey through EVM and through Cosmos. That's great. So yeah, I think we put that one to bed. The next one on our agenda would be lava and the lava RPCs.
Super. Yeah, it's a shame we don't have a speaker from lava, but to come up here, but real quick, I think we had them on two weeks ago at the last meeting we call. They're basically doing this, you know, aggregating our PC endpoints by incentivizing providers.
I think the most main net and test net are both supported on the lava test net. You can go check it out if you're a developer, try using their endpoints, give them feedback, and of course, as always, do go and follow there.
main account. I think again, forth from the right, they are pinned to the community call so you can find them forth from the right. Again, following their main account, liking, sharing the content is the best way to keep up with everything that they do.
And yeah, again, if you are a developer, please do let us and them know what the feedback is. We'd love for them to be able to improve their services. There's always improvements to be made both on R and their ends. And this goes not just for lava, but for any folks who integrate most in the future.
>> Sure. >> Kilo, anything else need to be said there? >> No, I don't believe so. I think it's pretty great that people will have these RPCs and tools available to them to help them build out, but I don't think there's anything that needs to be said there.
I think we can probably go ahead and move on towards our guest speaker. For sure. And one thing before we do transition, just want to make sure everyone's familiar with what we're talking about when we talk about our PC endpoints, that's just how applications connect to the network. Right.
So, it's an easy way to basically point your application to a specific URL to gain access to a network and then APIs are built on top of that. So yeah, I just want to make sure that was understood. And so that's what lava is doing. But if you're curious about what exactly the lava
project is do listen to our community call from two weeks ago because we did have someone from the Lava team come up and speak and they did a way better job explaining the project than I did just now. Perfect. Alright Kilo, let's introduce our guest speaker.
Absolutely. So up here on stage with us, we have a speaker from Carbon. Hey there. Would you mind giving us a brief introduction? Hey, thanks for having me.
me. Hi everyone, I'm CJ, so my Twitter handle is which market I care, but everyone calls me CJ in real life and I am here after the G and B's death at the Cabin Protocol.
So just a quick introduction, the carbon protocol is another layer one chain on the cosmos, but also it comes with SDK and it's mainly focused on DeFi. So it has a lot of different DeFi modules baked into the chain from my other books to the
like command market, CDPs, perpetuals, leverage, etc. So it's really focused on trading activities and trading functionality. And on top of all of that lies DMX, which is basically the front end UI.
So, carbon is pretty cool, but if you're not a developer or you can't really enter your smart contracts, it's not really functional for you to actually use all these tools. So, D-Mex is a fun N2 that has really nice and slick looking UI similar to
to what you get on a centralized exchange. And that basically allows you to enter all of these smart contracts, all of these audibles, all of these perpetuals and DeFi functions through this really easy to use UI. And that's basically what carbon and DMX is about.
Perfect. All right. So running us through for those who may not be as familiar with the financial primitives that you mentioned, you know, say I was a five year old, how would you explain carbon and then demics to me, you know, like I'm five? Is there a simple breakdown for that?
Yeah, that's a pretty good question. So our thing of it as carbon is where you have all of this technology, right, but they are not something that you can actually touch with or see, right? It's like beyond what your eyes can see.
what your hands can actually touch unless you have some special powers which in this case would be programming language being able to interact with smart contracts. But this basically like the engine, right? If you go to a car, you can't, the car moves but you can't see what a car moves.
But behind or under who you see the engine, which has all of this sophisticated mechanisms and systems that allows you to basically step on the pedal and then the car moves so that you get to your destination. And similarly, carbon is like the engine, but you can't really see it.
Dmax is like the car that is built on top of it that anyone can can sort of use like you just hold the handle and then you step on the pedal and then it goes to where you want to go without having to deal with the intricacies of what's under the hood and things like that. So that's like a simplified explanation
and hopefully that makes sense. Gotcha. Yeah, I think it does. Whereas, you know, carbon brings the tech, you know, everything else on top of it, including Demix, you know, makes it easy to access. It's kind of what I pulled from that. And so for, you know, most of the audience members here,
I'm sure are familiar with what Ebmos is or does. What does the carbon integration with Ebmos mean for these folks in the audience here? What kind of new use cases are enabled for them? Yeah, so recently we integrated with the FMOS chain.
So we basically build a relay because we are both IBC enabled and one of the beauties of being built on cross-course SDK and having IBC is that it's really easy to build relays and integrate with another IBC chain. So carbon with the FMOS relay can now
accept a false being breached over on to our chain and one of the use case of that would be to participate in the landing and burying market. So if let's say you have a false and it's just either at the moment you want to sort of land it out perhaps to so that there are two reasons
why you would lend it out. The first is because there is borrowing demand and therefore if you lend it out you get some of this borrowing demand which means someone borrows your FMOS and pays you in FMOS so that you basically unyield. It's similar to how you have money
in the bank and then you lend it out to the bank or you lend it out to the government in the form of a bond, something like that but it's not there isn't any locked up period. So right now on our website I'm seeing the APY it's really high it's like 90
1% on our website, which is app.dem.exchange/nitron. That's the decentralized front end. If you are holding FMOST and you want to gain additional yield on it, you don't want to stake it, you don't want to do anything with it, you just want to land it out because there's no
unlocking period, there's no like bonding period, then you can do it on our platform, you can just simply deposit FMOS onto D-Mex on to the interface and then land it out and you start earning 91% APY, but this amount is very volatile, it does fluctuate, so it's not a fixed
You don't get 91% fixed for the whole year. That would be really good, but that's not the case. It's dependent on how many people are burying it and how many people are lending it. So if there are more people lending it, then the yield probably will drop. So that's one use case. The second use case is actually to
So you have 100k, you can borrow 25k worth of other assets and this basically is a way to unlock capital from your existing holdings. Yeah, there is one last part where we basically partnered with Shredzone for the STF.
which is a yield bearing asset that takes all of FMOS taking the world and puts it back into STFMOS so that grows and value over time against FMOS and you can also borrow against that. So the FMOS API is now big into the STFMOS token.
and when you borrow against it, your collateral tends to go up in value over time, at least against F-MOS, and that's a really awesome way to basically be taking a loan against an asset that is appreciating, at least in terms of F-MOS. It's kind of like getting a home loan
and you have to appreciate and value over time. But of course, FMOS is not as stable as the house, so there are some risks and some due diligence and some risk factors that you have to take into consideration before doing any of this. But these are just some examples you can do with our partnership and integration.
Thanks for covering all that. You went into quite some depth. And yeah, I was wondering if the integration included just the ebmos token or whether it covered both ebmos and strides, liquid-staked ebmos. So I appreciate you kind of highly
And as you said, I think like the ease of use of both EMS and carbon supporting IVC means, and I think most people in the audience here are familiar with IVC, and so that should make things easy.
Those in the audience who are hearing about IVC for the first time or who aren't familiar with what Cosmos is all about, where would they be able to get started with using carbon in general? What's the ground zero?
Yeah, so the ground zero would probably be to go onto the website which is dm.xchange or damn.xchange. It stands for decentralized mercantile exchange, dm.xchange for the URL and it's
Basically, capital sign-in, which we are all familiar with if we use Cosmos. But we also do support Meramast sign-in. So if you're coming from an EVM like Ethereum or Binance or like Abitram, that's pretty hot nowadays, you can also sign-in with Meramast from any of those networks.
And then once you are in, there's no KYC, no registration. So you just have to sign in with your work tree wallet and you go to the deposit page and then you select FMOS that I'm doing it live on my computer, basically working through other steps.
and fmos will appear if you have available balance on your Chapler wallet. So I think fmos is very unique because they have fmos support on both Chapler and Metamask. So if you go on to like fmos on Chapler, I think you sort of see to the
different addresses so that's how you can get a fMOS on onto caplet itself and then from there you can deposit fMOS into DMX and that would be ground zero and once you have fMOS you can start doing other things that I mentioned like depositing fMOS and then borrowing other
stable coins. The second way would be to actually just deposit X-L-USDC. If you are familiar with customers that's kind of like the blue chip stable coin, X-L-USDC, of course in the future native USDC is going to
come out right with the announcement today from Noble. We really look forward to that, but XORUSDC is also supported right now and I think you can use like XLR bridge to bridge XORUSDC if you have it from like Osmosis or Cosmos or other IBC networks.
So these are the two main ways either depositing FMOS or depositing XOUSDC and then from there you can start doing all kinds of defy activities from yield farming like providing liquidity to doing orders, making perpetual trades on our platform etc. So we're applying
Similarly, a pubdex and once you deposit a XORUSDC, it turns into USD and then you can sort of make leverage trades long and short on various different tokens. And that's one of the more exciting parts of DeFi, which is to trial all the different DeFi activities.
Cool, thanks for the explanation. It was really well done. Yep, for sure. And folks, just with any sort of DeFi use case, there, you know, it does carry risks. So I'd be remiss not to remind everyone to, you know, always do their own research.
You know, just because we bring speakers on here. It's not a formal endorsement by the core team of the product, but just want to make sure everyone is aware that this integration has happened and on a technical level.
give, make sure that the ins and outs of the protocol are explained and our speaker from Carbon here has done a wonderful job today. So really appreciate your time here and thank you for also pointing out, I think you mentioned earlier, that any sort of defy protocol carries its own risks.
So yeah, of course, we expect our audiences to do their own research before using any of these products. But yeah, speaker from Carbon, again, like I said, appreciate your time. Anything else you'd like to leave the audience with today that we haven't already covered?
So we are actually, I think the only money market that supports FMOS collateral and we are actually in talks with FMOS, just as a casual conversation to see if we can sort of incentivize the FMOS collateral deposit for lending.
So that more of the FMOS community can be earning additional yield when they deposit FMOS onto the platform. And hopefully this additional incentives do cover and is higher than the sticking rewards of FMOS. So it makes sense for people to deposit rather than to stay
it and then they can experience some capital efficiency. So we are discussing and hopefully there will be some fruitful discussions and we can do another update on that if everything goes well and then hopefully more people can make use of their app, most to do more fun, defy activities.
Totally, totally. And so in the past, just the add some color here for the audience. In the past, the EMS community has voted to enable a certain amount of incentives from the community pool to be pushed for, you know, some of the decentralized exchange pools, diffusion in the
the past, space 5, most recently, etc. And so I guess, speaker from Carbonier, you're requesting a similar ask right now of incentives for the carbon chain. And yeah, it will be interesting to see, since as you mentioned, yeah, this will be a whole new use case that hasn't been incentivized before.
market will be interesting to see what the community sentiment and feedback from there is going to be. For that I encourage you and everybody else in the audience here to participate in the governance calls. The core team is less involved with the governance calls, the governance calls are run by the Dow I think.
But yeah, those happen every Thursday and that's really the avenue for discussing all things related to governance and it will certainly be interesting to bring up the incentive proposal before them. Have you made a draft proposal on the governance forum?
by any chance? Not yet. So we are like I said still in the beginning of a casual conversation just to explore what it's going to be like and once we have more details from both teams then we'll probably proceed to doing a governance proposal and then we can discuss from there.
Gotcha. Gotcha. Yeah. If you haven't spoken to the Dow already, I'm sure they would be thrilled to help you focus out that. But yeah, really appreciate that. Where can the audience keep up with all the latest carbon announcements? I noticed that I was looking for a tweet earlier. I don't think we have a shared tweet
of the EVMO integration on carbon. If I'm mistaken, please do point that out to me. But I couldn't pin a tweet here, but where can people keep up with all the latest news regarding carbon and not just for EVMOs, but for anything else in the future? Yeah, so I think
We did audit tweet. It's been a while back, at least like a month. But recently, actually just in fact today, we did another tweet with TFM, which is a IBC bridge. And over there, it shows all of the different networks that we are connected to. And FMOS is also included in
that treat as well. So I think it's probably a good idea for us to treat and take all of the different cost motions that are integrated. So we'll give you guys a tag as well. So for those who want to know of our Twitter, which is where we post all of our announcements and upcoming features,
you can go to 0x carbon on Twitter. That's our handle. And 0x carbon Twitter page will have all of the other relevant information from our website, to our telegram, to Discord and all that. So the handle is 0x carbon. So do follow if you want to keep up to date with all things carbon.
Awesome, yeah. And yeah, certainly tagging the main ebmos account or hashtag ebmos certainly helps us find these tweets and yeah, in the future we can make sure to pin them and whatnot. But thank you so much for your time and coming on, I am sure the audience got a lot out of this.
So I would have you on and yeah looking forward to seeing you again in the future. You know, let's say maybe you know once there's more info on this proposal or if there are any further updates on the atmosphere. Yeah, thanks so much.
for having me on. I really learned a lot about FMOS and I can't wait to see FMOS SDK being launched and perhaps it could be something that carbon could integrate with in the future itself. So yeah, looking forward to further collaborations. - Super.
So now we are kind of moving on to our Q&A phase. At the end of every call, we like to do a little Q&A, bring the audience up here to ask either the eVMOS folks or the
current speakers, including carbon, if they so choose. I do know that we have one last speaker though before we move into the Q&A session and we've got Yasin up here. Yasin, welcome.
Hey, everyone. Hope you can hear me well. Yes, loud and clear. Yeah, I'm thrilled. I'm Yassin. I represent in code and code is currently running the grants program with along with Evmos and it's a fantastic initiative, which has been running in the background.
for the last few months, we've made some great progress, some of which you don't actually see yet because most of the stuff we've done is still not public yet, but we will soon have an update for each and every one of you. In terms of what's been happening for the past three months, we've pretty much basically pushed
the whole grants program. We've had a lot of calls, we've had a lot of communication back and forth with community members as well as a lot of the teams within the Evans community. We've managed to, first of all, source all of the ideas and I was kind of like the phase one of the grants program. We wouldn't have everyone's input.
on things that they would like to see built, things that were missing, things that were essential, not there yet. And we've received a huge number of suggestions, some of them realistic, others not so much, but then again that's where we come in and try and kind of weed out and implement a structure which
can support future building. And as such, we've, throughout the last, I think, 10 days ago, we officially announced the crant structure for, you can call it trench one, season one, phase one. There's been a lot of names being thrown around, but basically we fight into
find different grant tracks with ranges for which builders can apply. They will be expected from them and what we expected. Some great suggestions, things that again would are needed and would be appreciated by both community and the atmosphere.
team and we're happy to to share that we've received multiples of great suggestions. We were aiming for somewhere around 50 or we ended up getting almost close to 70. Most of which are really interesting, most of them are really good. Some do do need a bit more work and a surge will not be picked for like a
first-generation of the grants program. So we will obviously be running multiple of these, each of which will probably span for around three months. So yeah, we've identified some, I mean, we've reviewed all of them. We've identified some which we think are good candidates for like the initial first
And the rest will keep on having conversations with making sure that all their work is, you know, sort of basically we want to extract the most value out of them and make sure that there's the initial applications are polished to the point at which we and the community will be willing to
support them and can behind them. So yeah, as their first phase, as I said, we've received lots of great applications. Some of them were shortly said. We will be able to share these really, really soon. As a side note, we've already spoken with Kiel, there's going to be a dedicated Discord channel, which is going to be for grants only. So once
all the initial grantees are being announced. Everyone will be able to follow up, we will be able to ask questions to both me and the rest of our team. We have multiple members from being called team present in the EVMOS Discord as well as on our Discord, but for everyone in the EVMOS Discord we're going to have
have a dedicated space dedicated channel for all of your questions. So yeah, I'm happy to share more, especially if you have any side questions, but this was basically a theory of lots of great applications, lots of promising ones, some of which are almost ready to be announced. And once we do, we expect them to start building.
And hopefully by the end of this first branch, which is going to end somewhere at the end of June, where the initial grants are going to be issued. All of these things hopefully will have delivered on their milestones. And yeah.
All right, yes, and thank you so much for the TLDR, the update. Just for some color for the audience who may not be familiar, some time ago there was a proposal by Ncode to run the community grants program. And that was passed.
And so and code received some funds from the community pool to spin up this grants program as we said. This is the first cycle, tranche one as yes, and called it. And yeah, super excited to see what comes out of it. You know, the core group is not involved. And so this is part
of that effort to decentralize and add more contributors to the network and happy to have encode on board to do that and to start that function. >> Yeah, I think that is an important note to make, because all of the people are actually confused and encode is actually running it completely. We are basically
the muscle behind it. But in terms of funds, these are all in a separate multi-seq. So in court is not in charge of the funds. We're only making suggestions through the multi-seq as to which teams have done and delivered on their initial proposals and deserving a grant. But yeah. Absolutely. And
I'm sure I know I'm grateful and I'm sure many of the audiences as well for you guys providing your expertise that muscle that you mentioned to these grant reviews. It's a herculean task and you guys are best in class. I think to do that and I'm sure the community has recognized it too since they voted for it.
Yes, and thanks again for the update. When can we expect the next update? What are the timelines looked like here? So in terms of time lines right now, we, as I said, we finished the initial reviews and we're now extending. You know, we are getting in contact with the teams that we've shortlisted for the first iteration.
of this grant cycle, so like for 2021, we need to get with everyone on the same page, obviously based on the applications, they've been in vision of their own, kind of deliverables, and we're making suggestions on something that we think is more suitable.
would align with everyone as it pretty much has the same expectations from each of the participants for the TRANFON. So hopefully we will have something to present in a week's time. We expect to have to call in contact with pretty much
everyone by then and go to Naccia and so like who is going to be part of this first iteration. And yeah, after that, we keep on going. We're going to be reviewing and making a lot more reach out. We've pretty much scouted all of the FMS ecosystem and we keep on
counting it for like great teams, builders, people that are getting involved and active and hopefully we'll get a lot more teams to build and participate. >> Super, super. And how can people keep up not just with encodes, grants program for EVMOS, but encode more generally?
In terms of keeping up with in code in general, we are really busy busy on our side. So there's a lot to keep up with in terms of programming as we do a wide range of educational series, hackathons, accelerators in learning boot camps. So keeping up with our social media accounts like on Twitter,
So adding code club, I think it's going to be the best way. But yeah, wide range of activities, pretty much a bit of everything for everyone. Depending on what you're interested in, you should be able to find something. Totally. All right. Well, thank you so much. Thank you for coming up here.
If anyone from the audience would like to ask a question to us or any of the speakers so far from Carbon and Encode, please feel free to raise your hand, ask questions in the comments or on Discord. There is a dedicated channel that should be open at the moment for you to ask for questions.
there. But again, it's always best to just come up here and ask it over voice chat. I do want to, before we move on to Q&A, do want to point out that there are a number of things happening in April, not just the EVM extensions, not just EVM next, not just all of the
updates that were given to us from Carbon and NCODE, but in it and lava earlier. But in addition to that, we have a few new doubts being deployed, namely forge. So for the down folks in the audience here, do recommend you guys
come up or the Orbital Apes team, whoever is working on for it to do recommend you guys come up here on a community call at the time of launch or right after just to break down for the community, what that is and what the timelines are going to be. Very exciting stuff there. And one last thing,
If you are a builder, I see earnmoas in the audience there. If you are a builder, we mentioned the community spotlight. If you want to build with EVM extensions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. But also if you want to integrate with any of the other folks that we've talked about today,
or carbon, Ernmoss, I think this is probably right up your alley, but do reach out to us to connect you to or reach out to the teams directly. I think there's a lot of synergies to be had there. All right, and with that being said, Kilo, can you move us into the Q&A section? I already know.
the comments for this community call. There is one question there from Kaz Jam. I'm happy to read that out but curious to know if there are any other comments in the discord as well. Absolutely. So it doesn't look like we've had anything come into the discord so far.
So it just looks like the handful of comments here. There's the one that you were looking at, which we can read it out and answer it. So Kaz Jam asks, he says, "Thanks for the effort you put into the project.
When should we expect the subscription module to begin working? This is a fantastic question. We're also going to bring up a speaker who has raised their hand and the audience while we answer that. But the subscription module is a feature that is coming to version 12 and we'll have a lot more updates coming out about version 12 later this week.
Version 12 is slated to go live on Friday. I think it's been on TestNet for quite a while and it will be going live on mainnet this Friday the proposal is already on chain and has been voted on I believe by the community and
validators. And so, yeah, do expect the fee subscription module to start working for those of you who don't know what this is or who have never heard of it before. The subscription module is a new way. It's a UX improvement to pay your fees, right? So essentially, have
Have you ever been stuck in a situation where you've accidentally staked 100% of your tokens and now you have no more tokens to pay for fees with in the case that you want to redelicate or unbond or whatever? Well, now you can pay for your fees via those staking rewards, right?
without needing to unbond them at all. And this is just a UX improvement so that people don't need to go through an extra step. And so expect that to be live post version 12. You can already play around with the feature on the testnet as well. Visit evmos.dev or
or docs.evmos.org to look up the documentation for how the feature works if you're a developer. But yeah, that's all, say there. Great question. We also brought up Apple at the LAN. As a speaker, welcome, Apple. Do you have a question for us?
I can hear you I think. I just want to stay in sentence. I can volunteer for you to get off in talk.
I try to reach you please get back to me. I can help you find out where you're going to. All right, thank you for that. I didn't hear most of that, but what I did here is I've most needs a burn mechanism. Yeah.
Yeah, and this is something that I think a lot of the community has discussed. Oh, we said all the burning mechanisms today and most calling. Yeah, thanks, Oppo. So yeah, yeah, the burn mechanism is a feature that has been
And then we can discuss by the EVMOS community in the forums. So if you folks don't know what I'm talking about, you can go to commonwealth.im/evmos to take a look at the forums where community basically discusses all things EVMOS, new features, governance proposals, etc.
And essentially, you know, the suggestion from the community here is
I can volunteer for 10 years. We should occupy the utmost coin for taking. I want to help your team.
Sorry Apple, I don't think I can understand the audio quality is not great. So I'm just going to answer the question that you asked earlier about burn mechanism. Yeah, it's certainly something that the community has been discussing.
I think that it is a priority at this time for the most core group to implement in code, but if it's something that seems to have alignment within the community and everybody seems
to agree upon it. And there's a proposal made to push it then, we're happy to add any and all mechanisms and features that the EVMOS community requests. So do make sure to make your voice heard on the forums.
That's the best place to raise awareness of any features that we as core developers should focus on next. Right now just for transparency, that priority is EVM extensions.
But yeah, you know, if this is a popular request, we can try to prioritize it right after that. Really appreciate you coming on and spending your time with us here.
And if there are any questions, would love to field them. Kilo, one more time. Do we have any additional questions on Discord? Otherwise, we can just end the call here.
Not at this time, but it looks like we can go ahead and close up here. Perfect. And you know what? We are kind of right on time anyway with two minutes to go one minute to go. Thank you all very much for spending yet another hour with us here today.
today at the bi-weekly at most community call. In between these calls, you can catch us on the discord with the Q&A sessions that we host the AMA sessions that we host every once in a while just to answer the community's questions every once in a while as mentioned. But really appreciate
Everyone coming in sharing their thoughts with us especially the speakers today from carbon and from encode. Thank you so much for sharing with the audiences, you know, what your projects are up to and I'm sure they'll be following up soon again folks do follow
You know both projects for the latest updates follow the lava account for the latest updates and as I mentioned earlier do subscribe to the Edmos YouTube channel and EVM next Main accounts on Twitter because there are some great things coming. Appreciate your time. Take care
