Thank you. Thank you. GM, GM.
Oh, hopefully everybody can hear me this morning,
this afternoon, wherever you guys are coming from
within the world. Happy Friday.
I will kick off in one minute.
So that's about three minutes past. Thank you. Okay, I see we have our harbingers with us this morning.
Can you guys let me know that you can hear me okay?
I'll be watching for your emoji reaction. I guess I'll just continue if I don't hear anything from you guys and assume that you can hear me okay.
I think, is it Alvin that I can see here? Or, yeah, if you guys can just let me know that you can hear me okay.
Okay, great. So I'll just kick off. So last So last week unfortunately we had to leave the community call update. Awesome thank you so much I appreciate the
emoji responses. So last week we had to leave the community call because I was rubbed three times
which I felt was very rude. Three separate links. I was kicked out of each link twice. I was able to
restart it quite quickly but anyway it was an absolute disaster so today we're back and hopefully everything will go fine. So yeah the purpose of last week was it
was the first week within July so I was hoping to do like this look back at June, give you guys an
update as to like what we're planning for the next six months. So that's essentially what we're going
to do today and then I'll give you guys also an update on just everything else we've been working
on the past week. So obviously everyone that's on the call now or anybody that tunes in later,
like June was a pretty busy month for the team.
We had a lot of kind of storytelling.
There's a lot of narratives, a lot of obviously for us to celebrate as well.
We marked our seven years since Ontology Mainnet launched.
So we really wanted to, as always, I guess, try to bring the community into the spotlight.
You guys know that we're always trying to test different types of community focused platforms.
So we hosted a bunch of quizzes like our monthly quiz and then also a TG quiz that's always hosted by our Harbingers with additional AMAs.
There was one hosted yesterday by Humpty.
We also had a bunch of campaigns, some campaigns around staking, campaigns around art for those
creative types, and then also a lot more conversations around powerful identity,
or sorry, powerful conversations around identity. So today what I'm going to do is, as I said,
I'm going to go through June to mention some highlights, checking in on Web3 in general. So
this is our pulse check check and then letting you guys
know all about the latest around the ecosystem. So the first week of June was pretty busy. I guess
we can call this like building the foundations for the rest of the month. There was this kind
of like early information-based kind of staking campaign, which was to let the community know
that you can stake O&T, learn how to use passive income. There was some content produced around that.
Also just general content around how to support the ecosystem
and how to engage with ontology long term.
There was also a Wonderverse launch, so this launched via Wide World AI.
So the Ontonaut mascot, obviously we were trying to create this like
bridge between identity and then kind of world building.
And so this was really interesting
to see with a lot of folks uh contributed like a lot of artwork um kind of giving their story
this real visual life which i think is very important in the space especially when you're
all quite often speaking about something that's very technical it's great to have this kind of
connection between creativity and art um i just think it makes it more fun more engaging for the
community and just a little bit easier to understand.
We also saw Soulbound Gaming Panel and Power Panel.
Yes, this is episode three, I believe that we had Jeff, our head of community, attended this.
So there was two strong Twitter spaces, kind of exploring reputation systems and Web3 gaming.
Also about the future of interoperability identity.
And then we had the STON campaign.
So this was a
connection between Onto Wallet and STAN FI so this gave users a chance to earn
by trading TAN via Onto so there is a lot more happening with this collab so
make sure that you're kind of staying up to date here and also that you're
following Onto on social as well they'll give you guys a full update and then we
should be producing more content around this collaboration as well.
So you guys could get the chance to have a look back on everything that was produced here.
Also, I just have a couple of questions
that I'm going to kind of pose throughout our chat today.
I would love for our Harbingers to either DM me
or leave answers to these or anybody else within the community.
It's a great way for us to learn.
So obviously, you know, we're going to ask the question.
I mean, that's very obvious, as I just said.
So have you stayed on tea before?
What's your experience?
And also, what's your experience with any of the Wild World campaigns?
I would love some feedback there.
So we have a shout-out actually during our call today to Barnabas.
So we had this onto talks begin.
So this was supposed to be 30 days of Web3 truth.
So this is all about truth, reputation and ZK.
So there was so much short videos from Barnabas to unpack big questions around that entity trust, scams, healthcare records and some financial access within Web3.
So we're always happy to see anybody in the community contribute like this, especially your Harbingers.
And we always appreciate all the hard work that they do.
So it was really great to see that kick off.
Then we also saw kind of the launch
of a consumer ZK Twitter space.
Yeah, so we asked a bunch of different questions
around privacy.
There was a really interesting panel
around ZK native apps featuring ZK Pass,
VIR Browser and Ont ID as well.
And then we also wrapped up mid of June
with Orange Protocol sharing their newest updates
for verifying gamer reputation across games and chains as well.
So was there any specific topic from OntoTalks that you guys found really engaging
or that you would like to hear again?
Also, have you tried any Z-based apps or apps before?
Would we be really interested to get your feedback on this as well?
So continuing on within June, we saw kind of a section develop around tools and identity within Action.
So this was like this new data model around Orange Protocol.
That was really interesting to see.
And then we also had a really great AMA, which was hosted by William,
had a social from Onto Wallet.
So this was the Onto and Tawn AMA. I joined from Ontology's side.
We also had Dave, CMO from Orange, joining just to kind of give a little bit more input on,
I guess, decentralized identity and some reputation as well.
So the kind of whole core aspect of this AMA was powering the ecosystem.
So we looked at cross-chain, DeFi, some liquidity flows, new user onboarding.
Also, yeah, we had kind of a brief discussion on how we would recommend, I guess, to better
improve some functions within Web3 to allow it easier for Web2 or anybody from Web2 kind
of joining the space.
It was really great, so I really appreciated connecting with the Tawn team and also for
William hosting that. of course with the birthday community call, we had the team with us.
So we had William join from Onto, we had Dave join from Orange, we had our very own Jeff
from Head of Community, which I hosted.
So this is just really interesting to kind of get some of the team together to give their
insights into staking or trading with Ontology, some of the more creative elements of all
the campaigns that were kicking off.
It was great to get an update from Onto as well, because obviously released the roadmaps a few months ago so we got some insights there
and then we were just looking for feedback from the community on anything that we had been hosting
to see if there was any changes that could be made. But just as a quick reminder so yes obviously our
birthday campaign kicked off and there was a bunch of different elements to the campaign so this
means that you can, as I mentioned, if you really want to get involved and like win um or being included in a prize pool for ont we've got
this whole kind of creative section with wild worlds and then we also have this og traders
so first ever ontology trader was going to win at 500 this is all being verified through orange
protocol which was really great to see kind of these elements of orange being brought into the
campaign and then we also have uh the trading campaign and the staking campaign always
just kicked off just over a week ago. So there's a combined kind of price total there of about $5,000.
And yeah, if anybody ever has any questions about how these campaigns are structured,
or if you'd like to see us do something else, I'm always really open to kind of learning more
about your feedback or any way that we're going to be structuring a campaign because we do have another big celebration coming up in November.
So this is the actual like the when Ontology was launched. So I think this should be in October, November.
So this is going to be a similar scale, I think, to our main launch. Could be slightly larger, probably push out a little bit more content and pure.
So if there's any input you guys would like to have on that
always add the odds to to have your opinion there
there was great to see that we had also the new website so I'd love to get folks
feedback on this it's much easier to navigate.
I'm very happy with this.
So obviously everybody on this call right now,
I think knows that I joined the team about two years ago,
focus a lot on kind of data, SEO,
growth kind of elements as well as like partnerships.
But it's great to see kind of an upgrade
or a facelift for the website.
I think it's gonna help us definitely educate folks
a lot more or easier.
And then also to give folks access to a lot of our
content. Yeah as I said the website's much easier to navigate and just recently as well which I'm
very excited about for content we just upgraded or not upgraded I guess changed to WordPress for
the blog which has a lot more SEO functionality so it's going to be much easier for us to track
create much better content. So yeah cleaner cleaner design for earlier navigation. Also for everybody to go and check out the Ontonaut AI assistant. This is quite cool. So this is to help new users
find out anything that they need. Do check it out. And if there's any issues, I mean, if there's any
testing that you guys would like to do, or you find any issues, I'm always happy to hear about
that. And also would love some feedback or input from everybody on the call now, or that gets a
chance to join in later on how our campaign should look for November and
also feedback on your campaign or the campaign that's active. So did you guys
get involved? Which elements of the four campaigns? Yeah and also what should we
launch next? Any new quizzes? Anything on memes? Any AI prompts or sticker
designs even? So yeah really interested to get some feedback there.
On the topic of content then, we also have launched like a new kind of section within
the blog. Well, I haven't officially launched it, but I've been updating it so that every week we
have a look back at our community goals. So we won't be going like kind of word for word transcript,
but it'll just give everybody an insight into like a high level overview.
So what we covered on all of the calls,
like these updates that I do with everyone,
they'll be definitely a lot more detailed,
but some of the other calls just give you insights into what we chatted with,
say, for example, with Let's Exchange or Exilex as well.
So towards the end of June,
we had a really interesting call with Elizabeth from Exelix. They were really great to connect
with. So we explored the new listing of ONT and ONG and Exelix. We also kind of got a lot of
insights into what they're planning within July. And it's definitely user focused. So they're
looking to kind of upgrade user experience to UX and UI, which is I complain about a lot within the space that it's just not a focus for most projects.
So it's great to collaborate with projects where that is a focus.
So they also have a very strong focus on giving users a privacy first,
kind of no KYC swap experience.
So as always, I just recommend for anybody just to go and check them out.
You don't have user services, but just check them out.
And if you have any questions, their team has been super helpful with us so far.
So happy to direct you towards them and make sure you're following them on social.
I think it's always the easiest way to keep up to date with everything that's going on.
And as I mentioned at the beginning of the call, Bella hosted the monthly Discord quiz,
which was really great to see.
There was obviously a bunch of participants as
usual and then obviously we have our ONG and NFTs. Then we had ETC last week. So this was, we had
Jeff attend our head of community which I'm sure everybody is familiar with. I know he mentioned
or met with a bunch of you at Cannes. So it's really great to see.
I know he did a presentation as well,
but he worked really hard to connect with real builders
and to chat about real identity use cases.
So if we get any additional information from Jeff when he's back,
then we'll definitely post it or kind of put together
a piece of content around it as well,
just so that everybody can stay up to date.
everybody can stay up to date. I'm actually doing some work on kind of
trying to change the Ontology YouTube page so if anybody has any suggestions
always open to hear that so we're going to be updating the description, adding
some new videos as well, just to make it easier to find ontology when you search because right now i don't think you
can actually find us um so i should be working on that um you know just adding keywords so that it
helps our seo and yeah as i mentioned just easier for you guys to actually find us if you search for
youtube or you search for us on youtube so i think overall june was busy we definitely focused again
on community because obviously that's a big part, especially for this call. And with the June
campaign as well, it was a really big focus for us. So feedback is always welcome. I would really
love to hear it. Would really love to have some insights into what you'd like us to do with our
next campaign as well. Also, we're producing a lot more content. And now with the upgraded website
and WordPress blog, it'd be a lot easier for us to kind of share that content with you. So we're producing a lot more content. And now with the upgraded website and WordPress blog,
it'll be a lot easier for us to kind of share that content with you.
So we're going to be doing some upgrades on categories and subcategories.
So we'll be producing a lot more content around community initiatives as well.
So I'd love to get input on anything that anybody, you folks learned around DID or reputation this month?
Is there anything that you'd like to improve when it comes to community tools?
So we host a monthly quiz on Discord.
What do you guys think about this?
Should we change the format?
Should we host it somewhere else?
Is there different types of Quest platforms that you think that we should be using?
And yeah, I would love to get some insights on any real world problem
that you see Ont ID solving that maybe hasn't been addressed yet
or we haven't covered in our roadmap for 2025.
Always happy to get input from the community.
So let's just do a quick market pulse check for June 2025.
It's always crazy.
But yeah, it wasn't a breakout month, I guess,
in terms of price action, but I think we could agree
it was a little bit strategic for builders,
product launches, and yeah, some infrastructure shifts.
So obviously crypto and web tree landscape
is advancing in a bunch of different directions.
I mean, everybody's talking,
well, I'm seeing it across trends, right,
that identity, ZK, AI integrations and real world applications. Yeah these are
the four topics I'm seeing a lot across all projects. So yeah if there's
anything that we're missing, would love to get your input there. But say for
example like there's a trend with ZK and privacy tech. So this is, I think, going more mainstream.
So there was a bunch of different projects that I saw roll out,
like user-facing, zero-knowledge ZK tools.
So ZK Pass began limited user onboarding for privacy-preserving identity verification.
Then we saw Polygon, ZK EVM, ZK Sync Era, and also StarkNet rolled out upgrades
focused on lower fees and improved developer UX. Then we saw Telegram based apps and private DeFi protocols starting to integrate
ZK based selective disclosure. Oh, sorry, ZK authentication or selective disclosure.
My brain is having difficulty functioning this morning. I need another coffee.
So it was really interesting. So what do you guys think about this general shift from privacy
is now becoming more focused around products
rather than just kind of having these academic discussions
or within niche projects.
I think it's very interesting.
So hopefully we're going to be seeing more apps using ZK,
especially maybe for age verification,
proof of attendance, voting and messaging.
There's also the potential around this decentralized entity and reputation layers,
I think are just maturing more.
So I think reputation is no longer like a buzzword.
It's definitely kind of becoming a part of most of projects like Stacks.
I think in June, we saw WorldCoin began to pilot this third party app using WorldID for
gated content and voting.
We saw FractalID, Gitcoin Passport, also Orange Protocol,
announced new integrations with gaming and governance platforms as well.
So it's really interesting to see also that we have DAO tooling projects
like Aragon and Charmverse added support for non-transferable badges,
score-based voting, and contributor records.
So I think this is kind of moving within the market,
is realizing
that wallets aren't enough, like what they're looking a lot more into users need history,
trust, signals and portable identity as well. Continuing on, we saw from some of the trends
that I've seen was engagement and outspacing speculation. So projects are looking to move
beyond kind of prioritizing creative or educational community campaigns.
They're seeing that this actually is working far better than token only promos, sorry, and airdrops.
So there's kind of a move away from these random airdrops into kind of prioritizing longer term community initiatives. I think we've been seeing that, though, for quite some time, to be fair.
Definitely, if you're looking to grow your community for them to last long term, it's a really it's a much more interesting way to do fair. I definitely if you're looking to grow your community for them to last long term
it's a really it's a much more interesting way to do it than I guess these random airdrops.
I think it depends on your project I mean that's not for me to say obviously but I guess if you
look at layer 3 galaxy and quest n as just three examples that you can feature storytelling quizzes
and proof of attendance nfts also you know there's a lot of, you know, kind of ties around project anniversaries and character drops and then quests kind of requiring real platform interaction.
So it's, I think, more of an era of do something, earn something is here.
And users prefer value driven participation over passive farming.
So I think we mentioned this at the beginning of last year as well well so it's great to see more projects are already picking this up Yeah, what's definitely brought us kind of, from my research, was really interesting to
see that there's a phase now, I think, where users no longer care which chain they're on as long as the app works and identity travels with them.
So, yeah, so obviously AI is a big theme and narrative for 2025 and I'm just seeing that
AI and Web3 are kind of blurring, right? So there's this AI generated NFT artwork that we're seeing
a lot more. So obviously this is your storytelling, character building, all of these different types of campaigns that we've been involved in as well.
Then also AI-powered DAO tools, grant evaluation assistance launched in beta. So for example,
I guess Dwork AI and DAO Manager GPT. And a lot more projects exploring AI-generated governance
summaries, proposals and community Q&A bots. So as this develops and as I find more information,
then I'll definitely start adding this into our community updates. I think it's really
interesting to see what's happening in the wider market as well. So I think we'll definitely come
to the conclusion that rather than this kind of standalone AI coins, we're now kind of seeing
practical ways AI can enhance user onboarding, community moderation and project storytelling
So just a few other June headlines that I'll kind of wrap up with that I found with my research.
And I say that because if something is incorrect, I'll correct it.
that you guys think is important,
Or if there's something I should have mentioned that you guys think is important, then let me know. I can bring it up next week.
then let me know.
I can bring it up next week.
So Ethereum, Dencon upgrade,
post-launch and analytics show
blob storage adoption trending up.
We also saw Solana's Fire Dancer
testnet performance benchmarks
hit a new high, I think,
in TPS and latency reduction.
And then also I believe that there is,
the agenda has been released
for Token 2049 Singapore.
So this is all multi-chain gaming, AI and privacy. So I wonder if anybody on the call today the agenda has been released for token 2049 Singapore.
So this is all multi-chain gaming, AI and privacy.
So I wonder if anybody on the call today will be going to this in September.
I'm not sure about the team.
I'm sure there will be somebody from the team
going to Singapore.
I think we usually go to Singapore.
So if there's anybody here that's going,
I would love to connect with the team.
Let me know and I'm sure we'll let you guys know
with enough time.
So a few questions after everything that I've gone through there. Have you noticed a shift in
Web3 projects? Are they engaging their communities more? And I think this is a difficult question to
ask because I always say like a Web3 project lives and dies by their community, you cannot ignore
them. But are we seeing really a much stronger shift towards building these longer term community
initiatives versus airdrops.
I think we've been saying this for quite for a number of years, but there was always this push for airdrops.
But now I wonder what like other platforms, like even Wide Worlds with this campaign that we launched recently,
where folks got access to our mascot branding and they were able to tell stories with it.
I think that in itself is showing us that there's more of a shift towards longer-term community initiatives.
So what do you guys think on this?
Yeah, what types of participation do you like to be rewarded for?
I mean, everybody likes to get money.
So do you prefer creative, educational, or just purely financial?
If you're involved with a project, do you really want to be involved with it?
Are you using anything with ZK or DID features?
Would love to know, hopefully you are.
And then any multi-chain tools that you're looking for.
Anything that's more confusing in the last six months?
Like with the start of the year, I know a lot of projects were promising
release of certain products or features or upgrades that would help.
Or have things just become more confusing?
So, okay, cool. That was just a quick recap on everything that we saw. upgrades that would help or have things just become more confusing. So okay cool that was
just a quick recap on everything that we saw. Well I found within June very very high level
overview and I know that there's a lot more going on even from yesterday but we'll touch on that
next week in our call. So we saw some obviously as I mentioned so Ontology ecosystem and product
upgrades we kind of continue to tip along.
We have an upcoming campaign with Let's Exchange.
We had Exelix on a community call last week.
Exelix also joined a call with Humpty yesterday.
We also had Alchemy Pay on the call.
It was really interesting spaces.
So they looked at this kind of evolving DeFi space,
I mean, staking real- world assets and even AI yield farming.
So I would recommend everybody to check that out.
As you can see, we're always kind of trying to onboard new folks into the ecosystem and keep you all up to date.
But as I mentioned at the beginning of the call, we do have this quite like robust content strategy.
And now that we have the upgrade of WordPress WordPress we will be kind of sharing a lot more
content with you guys so it's kind of a mixture between more shorter stories like more FAQ style
kind of for anybody who's new to the space to get involved with and then also thought leadership
focus as well what we're kind of finding is developing within the space as well but I'm
always open to getting your input on this content strategy
and would really like to hear from you. And as I said, don't forget to check out the new AI Assistant so you can understand how to stake, earn rewards or delegate. You can get started
with Ontology's Rons ID. You can check out any of the campaigns requests or ask any of these
onboarding questions as well. So yeah, it's much easier if you're spending time on the website anyway to have this information right there,
to have this opportunity to ask more questions.
So yeah, have you tried the Ontonaut AI yet?
What did you think worked well and what do you think could be improved?
improved. Would really love to know about that.
Would really love to know about that.
Yeah, so just to circle back to our blog. So what I said was obviously that we're doing this kind of
overhaul, entire kind of content and educational like redesign. So our new structure is going to
be kind of on like guides towards staking and earning, which you already have, putting more
into decentralized identity and privacy, like ecosystem and community. So you're going to get
a lot more events, recaps, community spotlights,
also collaboration updates, the summaries of AMAs and all of the integrations as well,
and any type of developer or tech tool updates as well.
And then Bella and Jeff gave a new look to our monthly newsletter,
so that'll definitely be still prioritized as well.
But just if you're looking for content,
like there's a few definite reads I'd recommend.
So there's a bunch of ways to win with ontology,
like why reputation matters in this space,
how to stake, obviously,
and then last month's log, which is May recap. But I think we should be posting the June recap very soon.
I'm going to repeat myself here
because I really would love to hear from you guys.
What kind of blog content helps you most?
Do you want tutorials?
Do you want screen recordings, campaign guides,
deeper use cases or beginner explainers?
I'm more focused on these beginner explainers.
I just think they're much easier,
a much easier content for folks to absorb.
But again, that's just coming from my own experience and from my own research.
So I'm always happy to get feedback from you guys.
And then would you enjoy like a short monthly kind of what's new summary?
So this would be different to our monthly reports.
I think this would include kind of like any updates, any updates that I give within the community call as well.
Yeah, and also within June, we launched the gaming series, which I hope everybody had time to check out.
So this was all about kind of about us getting feedback from the broader community around gaming, from developers, from anybody that's just within that industry, on decentralized identity, Web3 in general, how Ontology could potentially help them solve their issues with Ont ID. So we looked at like soulbound gaming, this idea that the concept
of non-transferable reputation in games where actions, wins and contributions are kind of
permanently tied to your web to your identity. Then we also looked at reputation versus achievement.
So this is kind of questioned how gaming systems can move beyond simple XP and toward kind of
more towards proof-based behavior and contribution scoring. And then we looked at player-first identity.
So the panel discussed the need for portable gamer identities,
that span ecosystems, allowing players to build reputation in one game
and then bring it elsewhere.
So just as a quick FYI, these were hosted by Humpty and also Jeff joined in.
Summaries of these are all in our blog and also on the CryptoSapiens newsletter.
So if you guys haven't, I would recommend subscribing to their newsletter as well.
And then we also looked at how digital identity is shaping the future of on-chain games.
So we looked at decentralized identity and on-chain gaming,
how it could potentially provide a unified, secure and player-owned way
to track an entity, progress and reputation across a bunch of games, as I've already said.
This anti-cheat and player trust also evolved beyond avatars, so based on your history decisions,
social presence and also even governance role. A lot of these are just really interesting spaces.
I mean, Humpty and Jeff host these spaces every week, but these were specific to the gaming spaces
so that we could try and take some learnings from folks that are super active
in this space and how we could essentially develop or further develop Ont ID and how we could help
like I said just solve any issues that they might have so yeah would you use a reputation score in
a game if you'd access to exclusive quests or gear? Should game communities vote on rewards rules or
missions? What should
a gamer decentralized identity include? Like hours, skill rank, DAW participation? What do you think
about this? Would love to get some feedback from everyone about this. So just as a quick recap for
the call this morning, my brain is obviously slow. I've had two coffees but I've been up for quite
some time and I've already had a bunch of calls. So I think my brain is starting to say no more talking.
But we looked back at June.
Obviously, we had our seven-year Ontology May Not campaign.
Bunch of stuff happening there.
Make sure you're staying up to date.
We also launched like a new look for the website, make it easier for you guys to navigate,
as well as the AI assistance.
So please feel free to use it, ask questions, learn more and let us know if you find any issues.
Also go over to the blog section and check out some updated content.
We always have monthly reports there, June should be added soon.
There's a whole gaming outline of the gaming series that the guys were hosting.
Feel free to go through that and let me know if you have any questions.
As well as anything else that we're working on, we would always love your feedback.
I would love some insight or feedback from everybody here
around what we could potentially do for Novembermber what the november campaign could look like
um and yeah if anybody's going to be at um in singapore in september so as always i appreciate
everybody's time um but i am adding i will be adding a summary of this to the blog i have other
weeks to backdate but bear with me i will be getting there so we'll be adding a summary of this to the blog. I have other weeks to backdate, but bear with me. I will be getting there, so we'll be adding a summary of every call
so everybody can go back and check this out.
Any questions, feel free to reach out to me.
I hope everybody has a great weekend, and we'll connect again next week. Thank you.
