Alright, hey everyone.
We are waiting for Mike to join and then we'll get started. So I should be here in just a minute.
If everyone was doing well, thanks for taking the time to listen to it. I'm looking forward to this.
might spend around for a long time and I think moments like these we need. Someone who has a bit more experience and can help us think more in the long run.
Two moments like these.
Right Mike, where are you at?
New York Chets aren't playing right now are they? No, he's a Jets fan. All right. Just ping-tong.
Hey everyone, we're just waiting for Mike to join and then we'll get started. But thanks for tuning in a little early. You know, it's right smack in the middle of most people's days, but you know, crypto economy is crashing, so what else do we have to do?
That was kind of a joke.
While we're waiting though, might as well kind of leak some alpha here in terms of like what the plan ahead looks like. So this is our fifth talk. I've been doing this for a couple months actually as like
Not really an experiment, but something that we've been wanting to do for some time given the network that we have. And here's Mike. I'm going to call you up right now.
And so as Mike is coming online, we have at least one more of these before the end of the year. It'll be next Monday actually with a anon that goes by the pseudonym of Bordeelon to talk about the pseudonymous con.
economy, hopefully it will be a nice refresher or like palette cleanser given everything that's been happening over the past number of weeks before the end of the year. And then we will pick this back up in January. We've got some really great folks to talk about. Actually recent trends
in Web 3 in Asia. That will be, I think, one of the first ones, and then we'll also talk with later in January with Ali from A16Z about investment thesis in Web 3 for 2023. So looking forward to that. So Mike, can you hear me?
Indeed I can. Can you guys hear me? Yeah, perfect. Was wondering if you were watching a Jets game or something? I'm not sure. No, the world cup was just wrapping up and then we're going through that. I live in New York City. We're going through that winter of, we're early
winter. Like basically everybody's been sick for the last two months. I was reading about the Atlantic. So our family has two ear infections and strep throat. So I had to pick up the kids at school, run back. So I was a few minutes late here. I apologize. No problem. And I was watching the World Cup finish there. It was quite the finish. Awesome.
Well, thanks for taking time to talk with us. I was actually just sharing before you joined that there's just been a crazy number of things that are happening in our industry over the last several weeks, especially like even the last day or so.
But this year generally has just been nuts. And I think like for me, you know, part of the reason that I was excited to have you spend time with me and us is that, you know, right now there's a lot of podcast, Twitter spaces, live events like the
New York Times thing, talking about the details of what has been unfolding and obviously there's tons of content out there. But in times like these, one of the things that I think is particularly helpful is when you have someone like you with a tremendous amount of kind of like
you know longitudinal experience across web three crypto and also fintech and technology in general what will go into your background in a second just to to provide some context but like in times like these it's like hard to see the forest through the tree I mean you know when you're well I don't even know if they're
are trees right now, it's like probably all blown up around us. But like, it's hard to see the forest and like where the long arc of things are. And like, I thought that you, you know, given your background, founding the block, but like also founding companies in Fintech,
