Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. GM, GM.
Yeah. Nice, I can hear you. Maybe give it another minute and then we can get started. Thank you. All right, I think we can maybe start.
So yeah, welcome to our July Community AMA.
I'm Jay, joined by Dennis.
We're two of the founders of Definitive.
Excited to be here and just update you all on what we've been doing over the last month,
what's coming this month, just lessons learned, key partnerships, what we see in the market,
That's basically the agenda for today.
So yeah, with further ado, we'll just start with what we've shipped in the last month and a bit of why we've shipped this stuff.
Yeah, since the last month's AMA, I think you guys heard that we were transitioning
for faster sort of trench style
trading. We've got a really good institutional and well-heightened-worth trading product,
and now we need to tackle sort of the lower market cap trading. So a lot of the changes that
we made are for that. On the trench platform side, most people trade on market caps. So one of the
just being able to toggle the chart from market cap to price and then having all the lines also change in that way. And then also making sure the order form where you submit the order reacts
with those lines changing and the fields changing there, all with market cap configuration.
the fields changing there, all with market cap configuration.
We also updated the speed of our charts and those will get even faster.
Right now we have one second charts on most assets, but I think we can get those
probably even sub second faster based on once we have some more real time
On the order type side, stop loss and take profits are really important for this sort
of really fast, like first 60 seconds, first five minute trading. So we've unlocked the ability to
set both stop loss and take profit orders simultaneously without sort of holding your
balance. This means, you know, I can set 100% stop loss and 100% take profit.
And then both of them can exist at the same time.
And if one of them hits, then the other will just cancel.
So you'll be able to do that now.
And then we're probably going to introduce some UX just to make that a bit easier to set up together, so to speak.
The other order type I added was just to be able to sort of knife catch.
It's called a stop buy lower. Basically, the order is if a price dips to a certain level, then you would just do a market order at that point. So it's sort of just knife catching whenever a price comes flying down.
flying down. And finally, sort of the bigger launch that we'll be announcing next week is
cross-chain swaps. I know we've been talking about launching this for a while, but there was a lot of
small things to fix. And I think there's still a few rough edges that we want to iron out, but
cross-chain swap is now available for all chains that we support. And that's sort of why it took a
bit of a while to get out because, you know, we cannot just turn on cross chain swap for just EVM or just Solana or just between two or three chains. We support nine chains and a cross chain swap has to work between all nine chains. So finally got that out. Really exciting. I think it's only supports market orders today, but, you know, hopefully over the next month or so, we'll unlock it
for advanced orders. Part of doing that is just making sure it's really performant and
it's not too expensive. You don't want to put in like a million dollar cross chain TWOP
and then end up paying like 10% in price impact or fees. There's ways to make that very, very
low. And that's part of the innovation that we're going to try and bring.
Over to you, Jay, on sort of partnerships over the last month.
Yeah, over the last month, you might have seen us on some different podcasts and whatnot.
First and foremost, we've been kind of focusing closely on the base ecosystem.
So I think Dennis was on the BMX DeFi podcast.
We were, Dennis also went to Coinbase, had this launch for the base app.
So Dennis was actually at the event.
event, he met, you know, Jesse and Brian Armstrong there.
He met, you know, Jesse and Brian Armstrong there.
Uh, but we chatted with Jesse on a lot of items that we can kind of do in the base ecosystem.
So you can't share all of that yet, but a lot of cool things cooking on that front.
And if you all watched like the base day, like the live stream, you probably saw them
mentioned definitive, uh, which is just cool to see.
So, you know, generally we're, we've been working
again pretty closely with all things base, as you might know. That being said, you know, I've been
focusing a little more on some of the institutional side. So I was on the BitClub podcast. So just for context, BitClub is a group set up by Maple Leaf Cap.
He's an OG crypto degen based out in Asia, in APAC.
And a lot of the listeners of BitClub are a lot of the biggest Asian funds,
you know, like Defiance and other similar names.
And so that was really good for, you know, getting ouriance and others other similar names and so we so that was really good
for you know getting our name out there in asia and which is kind of a goal for us later this
year and more on that later um and then you know we've continued to just sign up more kind of
custodians otc desks dows on our platform some of these we just unfortunately can't announce the names because of privacy
reasons, but recent ones include Parallel, Dow, their treasury signed on, which was a big win.
And yeah, we're just, again, as we mentioned earlier, we have a pretty strong pipeline of
partnerships with big names and these sort of institutional firms and we're just
continuing to close those out and you know we announce them as and when we can but again
sometimes it's just like there are NDAs and stuff in place where we can't announce them.
So yeah that being said as kind of I mentioned you know there's just generally a big push on
kind of i mentioned you know there's just generally a big push on uh revamping our product to you know
make it more uh friendly for trading low low liquidity market cap coins there's so many new
ones now and it's pretty exciting and so yeah maybe over to dennis on what is coming next over
the next you know four to six weeks. Yeah.
So I think probably the biggest launch going forward is we want to support trading
sort of the new content coins on base and the new creator coins on base a lot more natively.
So right now, if you were to use Definitive, you would have to copy a contract address,
paste it into Definitive, and you probably got that contract address from some Telegram group or from Dex
Screener, paste it into Definitive, and then you're able to trade.
But just having to open up two tabs or two apps is not great.
Ideally, you have sort of a Discover feature within Definitive itself, and that's what
we're building for XOR Creator and Content Coins.
Going to spike our discovery page with that Zora content and allow you to basically
immediately see like the newest creator signing on to Zora, buy their token with
just one click, and then immediately be able to trade their token in that like
first minute to five minutes where there's a lot of volume and a lot of
So that'll be exciting, working closely with the base and Zora team to get that up and
hopefully making that better over time.
And I say that would just be a precursor to sort of further trench features that we're
trying to put together in a more cohesive way.
Some other micro features that we're working on,
I think a lot of OGs on Definitive Recall,
this like really nice watch list we used to have.
It sort of just got a little bit deprecated
and didn't find a really good home for our new UI
that we recently introduced.
But we're bringing that back in a simpler way.
So we're going to just introduce a really easy
like revamped watch list, very similar to just introduce a really easy like revamped watch list,
very similar to Hyperliquid's simple watch list that they have as a strip above the trading chart.
We've updated or we're currently updating our asset selector. I think it may be live for some
of you guys, but we realized our asset selector doesn't really feel good for a sort of multi-chain
You want to be able to quickly change chains, quickly filter, buy stables, quickly look at
trending assets, almost have a little bit of a discovery and ease to finding stuff within
And you also want to be able to see what's the market cap, what's the live price, that
So we renovated that completely, both the target and contract asset selectors,
just to make it easier to understand what you're trading,
especially the lower market cap stuff where you need to see the market cap.
On the mobile app side, we've been making a lot of progress.
I know most people use the PWA today,
and we've sort of supported the PWA to have basic parity with the web.
But what we've been doing on the side
is we've been trying to catch up
our mobile native applications.
These are applications that you would download directly
from the Apple App Store or the Android App Store.
These applications are actually live right now,
but most of the features are turned off.
So for example, trading is turned off.
That's because behind the scenes,
we're trying to catch up the feature set
for the native apps to match the PWA and our web.
That way, if you were to install the PWA
or any of our mobile form factors on the iOS
and Android stores, it would all feel the same.
And it wouldn't feel like,
so how come trading is not available here, etc.
So hopefully trying to get that through the App Store.
App Store always makes it really hard for crypto apps to get live, especially if they have trading.
So it's going to take a while.
I think I mentioned this other one earlier, which is just bracket orders, SLTP, setting those up much more easily with a simple form.
And then, you know, going forward, we're going to focus on a lot more features
specifically for trench trading.
A lot of trench traders want faster charts, faster ability to trade
something like a quick trade panel.
I think we accidentally turned that on a week ago and then had to turn it off
because it wasn't just ready, but I think it's very close to being ready.
And then combine that with a discover page with like a quick buy functionality. And then you sort of have most of
the lifecycle of trench trading, give or take some features like wallet tracking, or like a trade
stream, copy trading, those sort of features. So we're looking into all of that going forward.
Back to you, jay on the business
yeah and i think just more important than that is just the high level strategy here for you know
folks to listen into the high level kind of strategy is as we alluded to the start of the
call is we have a really strong institutional business uh and you know a very early and nascent retail business.
And we're kind of building in a way to support both so that Definitive becomes the only place
where a retail degen who's trading something brand new that just launched right now that has that's 50k market cap can trade
and definitive is the only place where like a big fund who wants to do like a 10 million team
can trade and really the goal is you know we want to support you know the full life cycle of the
coin and this is kind of how we'll differentiate from everyone else in the market where i think
most people are either just focused on one side, just like
brand new TG bots, sniping new tokens, or actually on the institutional side, there's
So I think that's really the strategy we're building towards.
And I know it is taking some time and we're pushing pretty hard.
The whole team's just grinding away away all summer trying to get this out
pretty soon so excited for what that means and and you know product is just one part of the picture it comes the marketing and partnerships is equally important and so we have a lot of stuff cooking
there as well in the pipeline you know some immediate stuff that you might not know but you
know we also have an api live and we have some really great partners building on it um all coinist who are huge in the base ecosystem
have been working really closely with us they're they're absolutely crushing it and we love working
with them and so you should hear something more public on that soon um and then at the start i
mentioned a little bit more focus on asia i think you know we have
good because of our ties to base and stuff we have good mind share in the us but people don't know us
outside so i think a lot of us uh will be actually going to asia later this year to korea blockchain
we took in 2049 we'll have events there. So folks from the community are based there,
would love to meet when some of us are out there
So I think just growing our presence globally
is gonna be important for us to reach growth.
And kind of, yeah, and on that note,
wanna maybe take, maybe Dennis,
if you have any closing remarks here, and then we can
answer some questions that came up over the last month. Yeah, I think, you know, touching on sort
of partnering with the base ecosystem and sort of the strategy there. One thing I've noticed is
base and Coinbase in general really like to highlight and pioneer and showcase really good products.
Like if you built a really good product and it services the need of a lot of their user base,
they will promote you to the end of the earth. And they've done that with apps like Zora,
they've done it with Bankerbot, they've done it with Mamo. Those apps are actually really nice to use.
And it's funny because a lot of the investors are buying these tokens.
They never even try the apps.
They just sort of see the price action and then they chase.
But I feel like a lot of the alpha is just like understanding which apps are
really good, understanding like the thesis of a lot of the investors that are
investing in those ecosystems and then going after it.
So a lot of our strategy is like, let's just make our product really good.
And then the investors will eventually come.
And that's not just space, right?
We're going to work with every major EVM like Avalanche.
We're very close to that team.
And we're going to make a sick, you know, trend trading platform that is probably going
to be the best on Avalanche as well.
And that leads to a lot of ecosystem partnerships and becoming sort of the go-to platform on those ecosystems.
And just even beyond the existing chains that we support, you know, I know a lot of you guys in Discord have been asking for Abstract or like Sonic.
And maybe MegaEth when they launch or Monad when they launch.
So those are all things that we have a pulse on.
And so far our platform we've built with a breadth-first approach.
We're adding some depth now for a low market cap trading.
But once we have breadth and depth, then it's just a matter of going to market
with each ecosystem and proving that we're the best for them to sort of select us
and make us the go-to choice to trade.
Yeah, we can take some questions now.
I have some written from community discourse, so maybe we can go through those first,
and then we'll take some from the audience.
So, Jay, the first one here is how do cross-chain swaps work?
Yeah, good question. So that's something, I don't know if he's on this call is Sushant on this call it'd be cool to just answer it I guess he's not
okay so yeah I guess how it works is you basically right now we have cross-chain market swaps enabled that means that you can
swap any asset by a market order on any chain so basically why that's cool is now you can go from
you know pump on solana to clanker on base in one transaction you don don't have to bridge, you don't have to go into an intermediary
asset like USDC. So it's just more efficient from both like a cost perspective and a time
perspective. And you don't have to just click around a bunch of buttons. So why that's cool is
because, you know, you'll be on base, but then you'll all of a sudden hear about a runner on
Solana and you'll want to go over there ASAP or a runner on HyperEVM.
And the process becomes, okay, I have to like get USDC, I have to bridge, I have to wait for the bridge to complete, you know, blah, blah, blah.
Now it's just one click, boom, you're done.
And, you know, sometimes it can take as much as a minute, but usually it's five seconds.
you know sometimes it can take as much as a minute but usually it's five seconds and that's
because on the back end we've integrated around six seven different bridge providers and cross
chain intent providers just make this whole process super seamless so yeah you know it's
actually you can try it out it's in beta uh full full launch coming soon but i think cross chain
will be will be huge and right now it's just the market
order, but the TWOP will be even bigger. I think a lot of us are traders here and a huge part of
trading is getting on new ecosystems or new trends early. Sometimes the trends are on base,
but sometimes they're on solana or arbitrary and so
the ability to be able to t-wop from one your all your assets from one ecosystem to the other is
it's going to be super powerful no one's really done that before and i think will be one of the
first places you know to do this so yeah i think another question that people want answered i'll
answer this one um when are trader rewards coming and any chance for passive stakers to get some?
So we've been sort of vague on this in the past.
And that's because, you know, there's just not much we could say too early when the product isn't getting close to launching trader rewards.
But I do feel like we're getting close there.
So I think trader rewards, we're going to try and aim for it launching in the next two months.
Again, we want to make sure the team is fully resourced to launching our new trench platform
first, and then, you know, investing some of the team resourcing into shipping trader rewards.
And then passive stakers, including people who have staked already, will of course get
How many versus passive versus actually actively trading?
But we do recognize that a lot of you guys have been investing in Definitive very early
on and you guys have staked and in effort of staking, you guys are probably also trading
because that's the only utility for staking right now. So we want to at least reward people for kind of being loyal very early on. So look out for that. I can't really figure out the math just yet and share that. I think we need to take a look at, you know,
how long people have been staking, how much activity they've done and kind of figure out
an algorithm that's more fair. And also think about, you know, when our trench platform launches,
how much revenue we're making, and then go forward from there. But I'm excited to turn that on.
That's going to factor into a lot of the marketing for some of our new products shipping in the next few months.
We had some more questions from the audience.
So I think one was, um, plan to add tax export features for
So we do actually have this supported again via API right now.
You can download all your reports.
have like a button to do this but I guess if enough people want it you know I think definitely
feel free to DM us and we can chat about it something we can support if needed um understand
it as an issue for people many people I guess the next question was just on the cross chain side it
was a follow-up from Windump will cross chain swap be able to find the best price for a token on any chain
um like xbt on base and solana so so yes so the cross chain swap just does use our you know smart
order routing and best execution under the hood so you So when you do do a cross chain swap, it will try to route
the order the best way. That being said, sometimes cross chain swaps can be expensive as they are
limited by liquidity. So you might see like slightly higher price impact on a cross chain swap versus
just a regular swap. And that's just the nature of, of, because we have to move, you know, the assets have
to move across chains and they're kind of intermediaries that, that charge fees, like
some of the bridge providers.
By the way, on the tax side, just double clicking on that.
All of our like trading accounts are visible on chain as smart contracts.
accounts are visible on chain as smart contracts. So they have an address on chain. So if you have
So they have an address on chain.
some tax software that observes like an EOA on chain and can report tax for trading activity in
that EOA, it should work with our smart contracts. I think I talked to like the Awaken Tax team,
and they support some of these features. You can also use stuff like Coin.ly that points to an
address on chain. So out of the box, if other softwares are monitoring on-chain and reporting tax, you should be able to plug definitive addresses in there.
Yeah, maybe we'll do one more question from prior.
Just some questions around, like, mobile app.
I guess I think you covered that earlier, Dennis.
Maybe we can just talk about the mobile app. I guess I think you covered that earlier, Dennis. Uh, maybe we can just talk about the base app and I think you've done a lot of
research recently on, on Zora base app content clients that flywheel.
We interested to hear more about why, what you think of that flywheel, why
it's important, where you see it going.
Um, so I think Zora's flywheel is very interesting.
If people aren't familiar, the Zora flywheel can be drilled down to this.
When you sign up for Zora, a coin is created to represent you as a creator.
And then it's immediately paired with the Zora token.
And then people can buy your token that represents your creator if they want, and why would they buy your token?
Well, that's because every post that you make on Zora is then also a token.
It's called a content coin, and that will be paired with ETH.
And then people can buy and trade your content.
Um, whether they buy your trader content, maybe it's good.
Maybe it added value to their lives.
Maybe it made them laugh.
Maybe it's a viral meme who knows? But the trading volume earns fees on the content posts that you create, which then go and purchase your creator coin Zora and Zora as well.
So there's a lot of flywheel mechanics around doing volume on content, then kind of transitioning back to the creator coin.
Same thing for the base app.
Content coins on base app then flow back to whoever creator coin. Same thing for the base app, content coins on base app then flow back to whoever posted it. So they're both built on the same Zora framework. So I think that's really interesting. Like what you really want to look for, especially in our industry for on-chain trading is new and interesting assets to trade. And content coins and creator coins, I would say these are pretty new.
And this flywheel has not really been done before.
I think the space in general has had a lot of PTSD around like Frentech and like, I think
the earlier one was like BitClout.
But if you notice like those apps never really had a flywheel.
They had more of like an extractive kind of a mechanic where Frentech, it was like
bonding curves, like you buy late, you're basically down only. And then for BitCloud,
I don't even know how far they got. It was just like creator coins that you couldn't really make
money from. So with Zora, like they're basically trying to push all that value into a single token
all creators. So you can imagine if every creator token is paired with Zora and the price of Zora
increases, then technically all creator tokens will increase in price relative based on, you know,
USD value because the asset they're paired with is also increasing in price. So you get this like
really crazy momentum effect where like if Zora pumps huge, then
all creators feel rich and all creators are probably a bit more generous and
speculative and then the whole ecosystem, you know, gets that flywheel effect.
So, you know, it's our job here at Definitive to basically allow you to
ape that stuff really easily and, you know, hopefully make a ton of money from it.
And, you know, hopefully make a ton of money from it.
Maybe Jay, to kind of end the call, maybe we can each talk about like a bag that we want to show.
I've been talking to Luke at Lunar Labs recently.
And, you know, he's basically shipped Mamo, which is the only other base agent featured in the base app.
So I think that's pretty bullish.
I think we all saw what happened to the banker price action yesterday on their Coinbase listing.
And I think that's very bullish for agents on base in general.
You know, previously, I was thinking, well, how high can agents go in general? You know,
can they get to 50 million market cap? Can they get to 100 million market cap or beyond?
You look at something like AIXPT, which is a virtuals agent, one of the first. It's got a
tier one sex listing on Binance, for example. It's over 100 million market cap right now.
And all AIXPT does is reply and tell you information.
Um, and then you look at banker and banker can do trade.
Banker also tells you stuff.
Baker, banker can analyze trends.
Um, and it has a tier one sex listing now.
So that should give you pause on like how high agents can go if they actually provide value.
And then finally, you look at Mamo.
It can manage all sorts of assets.
It can passively reach a lot of the retail users that just want to deposit and forget.
Almost like a bank account with an AI agent.
And it's featured on a base app, but it doesn't have a tier one
sex listing yet. So that's sort of what I'm investing for. I think it's pretty bullish.
Yeah. So I'll kind of give you, I spent a lot of time talking to like liquid funds
and some alpha on how they think is that they want to see when they take positions and tokens
the fundamentals are aren't the only thing that matter uh if the token is like is is liquid is
equally as important because they want to get into a token in size and be able to exit it in size
and so um i've been kind of focusing on some like DeFi tokens that are maybe misunderstood or undervalued.
And so a recent one that I've been holding for a while is Euler or Euler.
I don't know how to say it, but the ticker is EUL.
And so they have an interesting story.
They were kind of like a DeFi lending darling got hacked completely then made a
full comeback and now they have launched um like a uni v4 dex type product as well that's that's
really interesting that's similar to fluids and recently they just got you know um listed listed
on coinbase basically all the metrics are have been only for a while, but the price action hasn't been up only for a while. And a big reason for that is Euler's the type of coin
that a liquid fund would buy and allocate to because they can really spreadsheet out
kind of revenues and a bunch of the traditional track fly analysis. But because it wasn't listed
anywhere with a lot of liquidity,
just made it really hard to buy. So recently, I think CoinBis announced the listing. Maybe it's
not yet listed. I think that's just roadmap, not listing. Yeah, it's just roadmap, not listing.
So that tells me there's an asymmetric upside opportunity because the fundamentals are up,
price is not moving, and the listing is not yet live when it is live a
bunch of funds who've been watching this will now say okay cool like we can our risk team is going
to allow us to buy you know million two million ten million dollars of this coin um so yeah this
is less so like a trench product but i i think this product that will soon get you know compared
to ave and some of the other big ones. So yeah, that's my show.
I think that's it for our AMA today.
You know, we're pretty active in Discord in general,
discord.gg slash definitive. If you guys want to chat with us or talk shop or, you know, share alpha,
we always are receptive for traders coming in
and kind of chatting about the latest tickers that are trending.
But thanks for tuning in, everybody.
Really looking forward to our Zora spike next week.
Hopefully, a lot of the Zora traders and content coins can find it really easy to trade definitive.
Thanks, everyone. Thank you.
