I am so sorry that we got cut off.
Hopefully you guys can hear me.
Were you able to hear me before, Greg?
Because I couldn't.
Yes, I could hear you before.
That was very strange.
It seemed like it cut out and Twitter rugged us.
Yeah, because it was obvious that DJL could not hear me,
but it sounded like you could
Oh, interesting. Okay.
Okay. Oh, well, I see
DJ. DJ, do you
want to come? Okay, it looks like you're coming back up
Yeah, I'm here.
This time? Yeah, I can hear you a lot better. Okay, so maybe that's what happened, Greg. yeah I'm here okay this time
yeah I can hear you a lot better
okay so maybe that's what happened Greg
maybe it was just
maybe it was just
a bad space
I don't know hey we had about
20 people before so we're just going to
give it a few more minutes
I am not going to I'm not going more minutes um i am not gonna i'm not gonna
try to play anything dj because i'm afraid that we might given how sensitive it was before i'm
afraid it might um it might rug us again so i figured we'd just stay here no problem
while we're kind of waiting for the audience to build back up, but I'm sorry about that.
Why don't you tell us a little bit about, you know, DJL and what all that means to what we're going to be talking about today.
So basically I'm a DJ from London.
I've been DJing for the last 30 years.
DJing has been my life, my passion I always wanted
Basically I started off doing house parties
And youth clubs many, many years ago
Then it progressed into me DJing at clubs
And then putting on my own nights as a promoter
And then I always had a dream of touring with artists.
And I got the chance to tour the whole of the UK when I started working for basically East West Records, which is a subsidiary of Warner Music.
So this was about 20 years ago. I got the chance to work for East West.
And I was working with. So it's a subsidiary of Warner.
And at the time we had artists like Fat Joe, Brandy, Ray J, Fabulous,
Sean Paul, Kevin Little, Mark Ronson.
They were signed to the records label.
So I got the chance to tour with a lot of those artists
and actually interview them.
So yeah, I've been in the music industry many, many years as a DJ promoter.
And a couple of years ago, I actually got interested in the actual business of music because the music business is a business so i like how royalties get paid and how you can earn from the music business so
apart from you know being a passionate dj and club promoter i actually love the business of music as
well so yeah music's just been i've just been around music my whole life started listening to hip-hop in the early 70s a lot of them uh american artists
and uh it's just grown ever since you know yeah i mean being a dj i guess is everybody's dream at
one time or another in their life because it's just kind of so cool to be a DJ, right?
Yeah, I mean, it is.
I got into it for the music.
You know, other people get into it for other reasons,
but I just got into it for the love of music.
And it's got its perks.
And it can be expensive in the early days.
You know, like I said, I started about 30 years ago We actually had to buy records
So, you know, there was a big community
We'd go to the record shops on a Saturday
Spend all our pocket money, loads of money on records
Like, it's not like today where you can just download
You know, we used to buy imports
And those imports back then may cost like
$10 per record
So it was pretty expensive, you know And those imports back then may cost like $10 per record.
So it was pretty expensive, you know.
But today things have changed.
You know, people just download music.
But yeah, me personally, I got into it for the love of music.
And I still love it to this day.
I also do radio in the UK.
I've been on the radio for the last 30 years as well.
So, you know, I'm a club dj promoter i also do weddings and i'm a radio dj so you know there's many different elements
types of djs but those are just some of the you know areas i kind of specialize in but
you know it has its perks and i wouldn't change it for the world it's given me a you know
i've done so much and i've seen so much through being a dj you know i've never changed it for the
world well let's then let's get into kind of why dot dj and i think we've had a couple of people, you know, that are pretty pumped about it. So
why don't you just talk to us first about, you know, why dot DJ and why did you spell it?
D E J A Y, why not DJ or D E J A Y, et cetera. So let's start there. Yeah.
So let's start there.
So DJ, I noticed that in Web2, in the traditional space, a lot of countries own codes.
And I think DJ is tied to a country.
So in order to avoid a clash, we couldn't use DJ.
Ideally, I wanted DJ, but we couldn't use that because it's used in the Web2 space.
Yeah, it's already a country code.
Yeah, that's why.
And then the other alternative was DJAY, but that's copyrighted.
It's a trademark, sorry.
There's a trademark on that, DJAY.
So we couldn't use that either.
Why did you want to do a .DJ?
What was your vision for having a TLD that was .DJ?
So basically, I've been around this unstoppable domain.
So I can honestly say for maybe about six years.
You know, I bought quite a few names myself.
And for years now, it's been itching me that there isn't a domain for us
djs and if you look at a lot of professions like if you look at a chef or a doctor or a lot of
professions their profession doesn't revolve around their name but us as djs our profession
revolves around our name it means everything to us i was
thinking why isn't there a domain name for us you know and you know a top level domain name for us
for us djs and you know it was bugging me and i saw that there was a gap in the market and i thought
if anybody can feel that unstoppable domains can so you know that that's that's how it all started
i just felt that as as djs uh you know we revolve around our name you know it goes on flyers you
know it's very important to us it's how we're identified and You know I just saw the gap and I thought
If anything we need an extension
So that's how it all came about
You know like I said more than any other profession
More than a lot of professions
Everything centres around our name
It's our personality
It's everything
And you don't really want
Alternatives of it
Ideally you want it
And you know
A lot of my friends are DJs
And it's very
Important, our name is very important to us
And then also
The fact that
We Basically Like live tipping That You know We
Like live tipping
And my call payments
I feel that
You know when we do events
And when we stream
Rather than have
Loads of QR codes
We should just have
Our name and people can send us tips and
micropayments so that was another reason why i was eager to uh you know hold hold down a
domain name so i can see the use case
you know rather than having a dot nft a dot crypto those are all good
Rather than having a .nft, a .crypto, those are all good.
But, you know, not everybody, not every DJ is into NFTs.
But, you know, they will showcase their name.
And now we can receive like micro payments and tips and things like that.
You know, when we're doing live bookings or when we're streaming.
So that was another reason.
That's pretty cool.
So somebody could send to djl.dj
could send a tip using crypto which is super popular right and yeah you're going to help
educate the djs of tomorrow about the power of doing transactions in crypto yeah that's that's
correct then i've heard about dj top level domain name will, like you said, educate.
It's easier to educate.
They'll get it rather than get .crypto, so to speak, or .nft.
They will get .DJ and they will see the benefits of having that.
And it's an extension of their brand.
Like I said, everything revolves around our name.
So it's an extension of their brand. Like I said, everything revolves around our name. So it's an extension.
Your name.
Like, why DJ L?
Okay, so I'm an early 70s baby.
So I grew up listening to Roxanne Chante, the Fat Boys,
and especially LL Cool J.
So the first letter of my name, well, my name is laycon so the first letter is l
so i thought ll cool j's l synonymous with hip-hop so that's how it came about you know just listening
to artists like l l cool j ladies love cool j and the first letter of my name begins with an l
Ladies love Cool J
And the first letter of my name
Begins with an L
I just thought
It makes sense
The letter L is synonymous
With hip hop
With LL Cool J
So that's why I chose
And it's also the first letter of my name
So that's why I chose the name
L, the initial L
Cool I did mean LL Cool J chose the name uh l the initial l so dj l i did meet ll cool j one time i was in um was actually in los angeles and um okay yeah and um
we were doing a big shindig for amazon and i forgot who was. It may have been Queen Latifah or somebody like that was there.
And with her new TV show, what is it called?
Equalizer?
And I guess they're friends.
And so she came to do something with Amazon Prime Video.
And he came with her.
Okay, wow.
Yeah, and he, I forgot.
You know the rap he does, his famous rap?
Mama Says Not You Out?
Is it that one?
Yeah, that's it.
So anyway, so he was teasing her.
And I said, well, do something for us, LL Cool J.
And he did his little rap.
So it was super cool.
And, you know, I don't know if you know.
I try to video and get everything, everything like on my phone so I can post
it yeah I did you know how you can do the video and you press the button if
you press it too fast you like it goes on and then it goes off it stops yeah so
I got him like saying like one word and I didn't get the rest of it. Otherwise, it could post it because it was pretty cool.
That's funny you should say that one time I met Cisco and it took me days to get an interview with Cisco.
And I sat down with him. The interview, I took a four track mini disc recorder.
I sat down with him and we'd done the interview. He'd done me some jingles.
When I got home, I realized I didn't press play on the recorder.
You know, so
I'll never live that down. So I know the feeling.
It is super tough.
Well, I have to tell you, so DJ is doing really well because of the use cases.
And I know for our premium domains, we've already sold club.dj, mix.dj, techno.dj, hip hop.dj, house.dj.
We have a wedding left, wedding.dj. Why don't you tell us a little bit about why wedding dj that's a really popular
one right yeah it is because um like i said i started off as a club dj well i started off doing
uh when i was 15 i started off doing like youth clubs then i used to do house parties
then i was a club dj for about 25 years And when I came out of the clubs
I diversified
And I started doing private events, corporate events and weddings
And I actually
The clubbing scene is cool
But as I'm getting older I can't keep up with it
And I've kind of been there and done that
But I actually love doing private events
I've done a private event for Revolut the banking app and I've done a I've done one for the NHS which is
our health service over and I've done a lot of other big private events and I and um and I and And the reason, so how I got into it was that I market myself online
and wedding DJs to get to, basically you can pay for keywords on Google ads.
You can pay for keywords and you can search.
You can search keywords and see how many times that keyword has been triggered.
And Wedding DJ gets searched a lot.
And if you want to use that keyword so that your website comes up when people do a Google search,
to use Wedding DJ is very expensive.
So that's how I knew that that term wedding dj is in high demand
because um if you want to use it on google on google pay-per-click you have to pay a lot of
money you know every time someone uh searches that for that term and clicks on your website
you could pay that three four pounds which is the equivalent of seven, eight dollars. So it's a very popular term.
And someone's always getting married.
You know, a wedding, it's a big business.
And as a wedding DJ, you can charge a lot more money as well.
So it's a popular term.
So that's why I chose that term.
And, you know, I do a lot of weddings.
And I know it's with weddings, people book a year in advance as well.
So if I'm to get a wedding booking, they'll book me this year for next year.
So it's a very expensive and popular term.
So that's why I chose that.
And I'm surprised that no one snapped it up.
Me too. I thought that would be the
first one to go but it's the only one
waiting out there and we're going to put up some more
premiums hopefully during
because we
want to get some more of them up there because the rest
of them have flown out.
I would also love
to hear from the audience too when you guys come up to chat. Do you guys like those new premiums
we're putting on the landing page? You like us doing the premium drops like at the same time we
drop the, you know, the TLD? Is that something you guys like, don't like, etc, etc. That would be
awesome. And just remember, we always give away to the first three questions. We give away a free .dj in this case, we'll be giving away a free .dj.
So make sure you're thinking of, make sure that you're thinking of questions and things like that
too. So DJL, I'm curious too, you know, when we were talking about .dj, you know, you did a set
of badges, which I think are really wicked cool. Do you know you did a set of badges which i think are
really wicked cool do you want to talk a little bit about your badges and why you designed them
the way you did etc yes so uh like i said my whole life revolves has revolved around dj and promoting
and uh you know i've had two successful club nights in London
Which were very well known
And, you know, I ran a club night for like seven years
In a place called Soho
Which is a well-known area in London
Like equivalent of somewhere in Manhattan
So I ran a club night there for seven years
And those terms are just synonymous with running a club night.
So I think the first badge was guest list.
Yeah, so when you're doing a club night, people want to get on the guest list.
Then when you're on the guest list, I guess the next step is,
like let's say you're outside a club and you're waiting on the queue
and you're waiting in the queue, you're waiting in the queue You're on the guest list
But what do you want to do?
You kind of want to jump the queue
You don't want to be in the back
You want to jump the queue
So that was the second badge
So, you know
Your first badge is guest list
Then your second badge is Q jump
So you don't want to stay in the queue
You want to jump to the front
What else?
Oh yeah, then you may go one better
Than being on the
Guesses or jumping the Q, you've actually bought a ticket
You bought an early bird ticket
So when we do club nights
We normally release
Early birds at a cheaper price
And then as the club night
Comes closer
We up the price so uh you
know early bird is the third tier is the
third tier then what was after early bird
there was so there's guess it's cue jump
early bird then oh yeah vip so when
you're in the club what's the next step
people want to get into the VIP
So you've got a certain amount
So you've got a certain number of badges
You're now VIP
And then if you really want to go out
You're a superstar DJ
So, you know, that was my thinking
That was my reasoning behind those badges
So early birds
You know, sorry, guest list.
Your name's just down on the guest list.
Next step up, you can jump the queue, get to the front.
After that, you know, even better,
you're not even waiting on the guest list
because you could be on the guest list
and might not get in because people have bought tickets.
So you've gone one further and you've bought yourself a ticket.
Then you get inside the club, you've got access to the VIP.
Then after that, you're a superstar DJ.
So, you know, that was my reasoning.
That was my thinking.
It's all to do with me promoting club nights and how they normally run
and how we normally sell tickets and try and get people through the door.
So that was my thinking and logic around both badges.
That's really super cool.
And you truly put a lot of interesting work into that as well.
Idris, I know that you're up here as a speaker,
so you'll be our first, and you know the drill,
once you ask your question.
And DJL answers it for you will uh
you go and dm my unstoppable account not mine but the the official unstoppable account and then you
can request your dot dj so what's your question today hey sandy thanks for hosting a fun and very informative space as always.
How are you doing?
Yeah, I'm good.
Doing great for a Monday. How are you?
Doing fantastic. Thanks for your insight, DJ Punks.
Now, how can radio DJs and on-air personalities also take advantage of this TLD?
Can you give us your fun perspective since you have like this years of experience?
How can they take advantage?
So you can... Of this domain, of this TLD.
Well, I mean, oh, so for instance,
I'm on radio.
When I just had the .crypto domain,
I would always mention on my show that if you enjoyed the show,
send me a tip.
So I was always promoting my DJL.crypto.
I was so chuffed and excited when I actually nailed it and I got it.
And when I'm on radio now, now well before when i was on radio
well i'm still i still am on radio but before a dj tld came out i would say oh you know thanks for
tuning in today um if you want to send me a tip just send it to djl.crib i'll say now So now You know I'm on radio tomorrow, I'll change that
To, you know, send a tip
So, you know, that's how
Radio DJs and personalities
Can benefit, like I said earlier
You know, no one can
Put, how do you give out a
You can give a QR code
Out on air, or we will tell people where to go to see your QR code if you've got a website.
But a lot of people are lazy.
You can't really give out your long wallet address on air.
But now you can just give out your DJ name on air and receive tips.
You know, and if you're on like an internet station that's worldwide
so i hope that answers your question that's a great use case i think what do you think
i just don't you think that's a pretty cool one yeah it makes a lot of sense as a radio dj myself
when i do the over my top five i can add that to it as a other as another call to action besides
mentioning my radio station name so it does. So it does make absolute sense.
Thank you very much. Yeah, no problem. Radio DJ, you have lots of talents, huh?
I love it. Okay, thank you. Thanks for the question. It looks like we have 135.DJ
coming up to the stage as well. Go ahead, 135.
Hey, thank you.
I'm not an actual DJ, but for today, let's just pretend.
You got it.
I just wanted to thank you because I always appreciate when, you know, somebody partners with Unstoppable and watches a TLD because I just,
I'm not for the
renting system anytime i see like that pizza i get sad because you know it's something i would
actually want to own uh so it's really nice when we're able to to actually own the domain so i i
really appreciate that from a branding perspective no problem appreciate that thank you 135 um any other questions before we continue on
right now but if you guys do have a question that's two of our domains that are gone we'll
have one more domain that we'll also give away um so djl i'm curious. Do you think that this can also be an ICANN TLD?
Are you interested in taking this to ICANN?
I mean, I wasn't aware of the price, but I am now of the application fee.
But, yeah, possibly.
I think it's, you know, it's got a big use pace.
I think it's a cool TLD
Even if you're not a DJ
Everyone's got their favourite DJ
So it just doesn't
It's not just for DJs
And then also
You can have agencies
There's a lot of DJ agencies out there
And record pools
We talked about
Wedding DJ
Like I said
The agency business
The DJ business is big money
It's worth
Hundreds of millions probably
There's a lot of DJ agencies out there
And there's a lot of agencies that specialize in wedding
So you can have wedding.dj
Agency.dj and then also
As DJs there's something
Called a record pool
It's where we go to download
Our music for free all the big
Companies and independent artists
Like Warner
Sony they all put their music
On this record pool and independent artists
Put their music on the record pool and us independent artists put their music on the record pool.
And us as DJs, we go there to download the music for free.
Now, all these record pools, there's one I use called DigiWax.
So they would be interested.
DigiWax.DJ.
You know, there's loads of record pools.
So I think it's got a huge use case.
use case I'm not I'll be honest with you the actual I can side of things I'm not
I'll be honest with you.
100% sure of the benefits or how it works if I'm to be totally honest but you
know I can see in answer to your question or I can see that you know it's
something that I would be interested in but I would like to know a bit more
about how it works and what are the benefits.
That's something that we'll go over for sure.
But I do know that we had chatted about making this one an ICANN TLD as well.
But if you want to keep it as a Web3 TLD, that works just great as well.
And it looks like one of our whales uh johan is up on
the stage johan do you have a question for djl hello hello sandy and the dj punks glad to be
yeah i haven't had a question about i saw you you got an endorsement by dj with the Wu-Tang Clan
and I would like to know
do you have
DJs or artists
sorry I had an incoming
clinic cut out, you mentioned DJ
Symphony, what was your
other part of the question
do you have other people who are
interested, who are interested uh
who are djs or artists and an addition uh i saw your um dj punks nft collection can you tell us
a little bit about that okay so let me start with the collection so when i was uh working for like
i said i worked for east west records for about six, seven years. And East West is a subsidiary of Warner Music.
So in that time, I got to meet and interview Sean Paul, Mark Ronson, Kevin Little, and a load of other artists.
And if you go on my website, you can listen to the actual interviews I've done.
So when I met them, I also got them to do jingles for me. And the way I normally do jingles when I meet famous artists is I get them to sing their most famous song and incorporate my name.
So I've had these jingles for a while.
And they also signed merchandise.
For example, Mark Ronson signed a T-shirt.
So if you look at the Mark Ronson one, it's an actual replica copy of the T-shirt he signed and then kevin little it's a replica
copy of the cap that he signed so what i normally do is i get these guys that work in uh there's a
there's a type of technology they use it for rendering like uh housing i've forgotten the
software but they use it to render like it's used in, I think, the architects use it.
So I'll send them over the actual picture of the T-shirt or the signs cap.
They will render the artwork.
And then what I do, I put the jingle underneath.
Sorry, I merged the jingle with the with the with the mp4 with the artwork
and then i've just been pushing them out basically i just give them away i use them as promo and i
want to say a big shout out to engine i love that along with unstoppable domains i love the
the engine community and what i like about uh their nfts is you can just send a qr code out to
people and they scan that and they receive the nft to their wallet so that's how those nft the nft
collections came around you know i just merged the the you know the graphics the the signs cap
the signed t-shirt that mark ronson done
with the audio that they done for me the jingles and then i just distribute distribute them on the
engine platform and i just use that to uh as a marketing tool you know i'm not you know i don't
really look for payments just like a marketing tool trying to build a community and you know
just and also there might be a fan of sean pa Paul or a fan of Mark Ronson and they
just might want a little piece of these artists.
And so that's why I do those NFT collections.
And so what was your other?
I've got a few famous friends.
One of my friends is,
in a group called rudimentals. And, you know, I've got a few famous friends. One of my friends is in a group called Rudimentals. And, you know, I've got a few famous and I'm in talks to get other endorsements. I'm not going to lie, the actual DJ Symphony one endorsement has fallen through, but I'm in talks with other high profile DJs and, you know, certain celebrities a sound sound of artists that I've met,
and there's at least 30 famous artists on there.
Also, I always just bump into artists.
For some reason, I just, I don't know if it's,
I do believe in the law of attraction, and it, you know,
for some reason, I just, I'll give you examples.
I'll give you an example.
So I was in Jamaica for my friend's wedding and a dance hall queen was on and all the
staff were saying, yeah, a lot of the artists are going to stay at the hotel.
And I didn't think nothing of it.
Then a few days later, there's a, there's a Jamaican artist, a regular artist called
Elephant Man.
He was actually in our hotel and just walking around
So I approached him
He'd done me a dub play
And there's quite
That scenario has happened to me
Quite a few times
I'll give you one other example
There was a time I was renting out
My car park
And I was renting it to an elderly gentleman
Because I didn't need my car park So I was renting it to an elderly Gentleman because I didn't need my car park
So I was renting it to an elderly gentleman
And we got talking one day
And he goes oh my son
Is in the music business and I thought here we go
Everyone's a DJ everyone's
In the music business so I asked him who's your son
So basically his son
I don't know if you know the group
Called Gorillaz and Blur
But his son is uh the lead
singer is the guy that formed those groups so his son formed gorillas and is the lead singer of blur
so in terms in answer to your question am i getting more endorsements i'm always around
artists i always bump into artists And that is the plan
I'm actually in talks with some artists and some top DJs at the moment
But the DJ Symphony one, that one fell through
And to be honest, sometimes I feel that
When I'm approaching people, some people are sceptical
When I feel when it comes to crypto
Some people see it as a scam or they don't understand it.
And then I was thinking to myself, mate, you know, I know of cases where I think DJ Khalid and some other well-known influencers got sued because they might have been promoting crypto businesses or something.
I feel there's that element sometimes when I'm approaching.
So I feel there's that element sometimes when I'm approaching, not everybody gets it.
Not everybody gets it.
So in answer to your question, I will be approaching more people.
And there's a couple of people I'm in talks with now at the moment.
And like I said, I always just bump into people.
And I've got a few famous friends as well that are in groups.
So that is definitely my plan to get more endorsements.
I hope that answers your question. I i want to go on a bit that's that was a great one i thought that was really
fascinating as well and how you meet people you know i have to say i've met some really cool
people too not all djs but i was flying once from north carolina to la and i sat beside
denzel washington oh yeah amazing yeah and then i flew once from austin to new york and i sat
beside tommy lee jones which was also very interesting yeah and then i got on the plane
once flying down to austin everything seems to happen good in Austin.
And I was hoping to get an upgrade, you know, how you can get those free upgrades.
Yeah. They said, oh, we can't do it today because somebody bought out all first class.
And I was like, oh, man, I wonder who that is, you know. And it turned out it was Sandra Bullock.
Oh, well. So I got to meet Sandra Bullock as I boarded the plane
She was super nice
Kind of fascinating right
Yeah law of attraction
I could name so many I'll name another one
Like I used to work in Harrods
I used to work in Harrods
And at the time
By the way
I said I love that store by the way
Yeah yeah i used to
work there i worked there for five years and that was a time when mr alfayad owned it but i'm not
going to talk too much on that but he owned it at that time and basically michael jackson was good
friends with uh mr alfayad so i was leaving work for the day and you know whitney houston had come
in before with bobby Brown uh we've got a
boxer here called Chris Eubank he always came in the store I think I met a few other celebrities
but that day when I was leaving someone told me Michael Jackson was in the in the store so
I definitely made sure I walked around and put a glimpse of him. But, yeah, I can tell you so many stories of where I've bumped into artists
or they've lived close to me and things like that.
But, yeah, I'm definitely on the hunt for more endorsements.
That's the plan.
But I do find not everyone understands.
And that's another thing with the whole collection.
I'm trying to educate on board those that are stuck In web 2 Into web 3
You know that was the whole point of my
Collection as well but I do feel you know
Certain people just don't get it so it can be
Hard you know trying to
Speed to artists
Speed to people to endorse things
Because some people just don't get it
But that is definitely the plan to get
More people involved and I've got the contacts That's another thing that's why i set up the collection as well
i've got the know-how and i've got the contacts to make things happen and also i want to share
you know by holding one of um you know so i'm talking about dj punks here the nft collection
by holding one of them you get access to uh some of my some of my contacts maybe not direct access but i i can put
in a word and then also i can learn from the community there might be something that they
have that i don't have you know so that was the whole point of uh you know my punks collection
i like that i like that um any other questions from the audience? I don't want to consume the whole time, but anybody else have any questions?
how do you envision using .dj to maybe even create a community?
I know I was looking at, you know,
some of the domains that you have and you're, you know,
you're looking to give them out to a bunch of DJs, but tell me,
tell me how you plan on building this DJ community that you can help and
educate on web three and crypto.
Okay. So the first thing I'm going to do,
so the unique selling point for me
Is micro payments
And tipping
So I'm actually building
An app called DJ Near Me
And within that
And I've never really seen an app
Where you can tip
The DJ, there may be one out there
But I've never seen that, so I'm building an app
Called DJ Near Me And you so I'm building an app called DJ near me and
You know, I'm not gonna
Promote inside the app. I'm not gonna promote that. It's a tipping app. I'm gonna promote that you you can request a song
From the DJ in this app. So I've done weddings
I've done events and not everybody is brave enough to come to the DJ booth and request a song
With this app you can be at the back of the club and request a song and
I can market this to
People having a wedding or party organizers and say look
Push this to your
Event attendees push it to the people coming to your event that, you know,
download this app and you can request a song.
Now, inside the app where you can request a song,
there will be a tipping feature.
So, you know, you could have your PayPal address,
but what I want to put also is a web free address.
It could be your .dj address so that D so that you know
you can get tipped so that is one way I intend to onboard DJs is through pushing the whole narrative
of look you can receive tips you can receive micro payments via your domain name.
And, you know, a lot of DJs stream as well.
I'm talking to one of the biggest UK streamers at the moment.
He, you know, he's called DJ AG.
He's quite, I think he's quite big worldwide.
And I see when he does his streams, he puts, oh, if you want to gift me
or if you want to do this, go here.
But why don't you just put, you know, there's people without banks, there's people without PayPal accounts, but they've got, you know, crypto wallets or they've got access to crypto.
So, you know, you need to have your AG.DJ name on your streams so that's one way I'm looking to to onboard DJs is to let them know
of the benefits of having this domain and you can now receive tips to it and you can receive tips
from different blockchains like you know you can't have 10 QR codes on your stream, but you can have one.dj domain on your stream and let your listeners, your viewers know that you can send multiple cryptocurrencies to this address.
So I think that was the answer to your question.
How do I plan to onboard DJs?
That's a great idea.
I love that idea of a tipping app.
That's cool.
Yeah, so via a tipping app, via, you can put this,
you know, on our laptops, we normally have our DJ name.
Like when, you know, you must have been some,
everyone on their Mac now has their DJ name
on the back of their MacBook.
So have your dot DJ name on the back.
People can send tips to it.
On your stream, put it.
And then I plan to do some videos.
Go into the back end of Unstoppable Domains and show them how to set it up
and show them how I have set it up and how I've got this one name and you can now send multiple
cryptocurrencies
To this name. So that's how I plan to onboard them and then by getting like the gentleman said earlier by getting influencers on boards
To show the benefits. I feel once people start seeing other DJs using it,
they will jump on board as well.
And it's an extra revenue stream.
I've done an event before,
and the client was so happy with me,
she just gave me a Β£50 tip.
Now, you know, there could be someone in a club
or in a wedding that's so happy with you,
they can send you a Β£1 tip
Or a Β£2 tip
Or a $5 tip
So that's how I'm going to market it
A lot of it will be centred
To start off with it will be centred around
This is how
You can increase your revenue stream
It's a lot harder to just do a bank transfer in a club.
Maybe it's easy to do it via PayPal,
but I've never tried myself.
But I feel, you know, if you've got a crypto wallet
and, you know, it's easy just to type in someone's name,
you can send the Michael payment,
even if it's 50 cents, it's better than nothing.
And if a lot of people are doing that, it all adds up.
And you can do this on your live streams, and you can do it on radio.
Like I said earlier, when I'm on radio, I often give out my .crypto address
and say, if you enjoyed the show and you want to tip me, here you go.
So the unique selling point I'm trying to push is the whole tipping
and micropayment narrative
I want to import DJs into NFTs
Like the gentleman saw earlier
I've got some NFT collections that I just give out
But I could monetize those
Or you can just use them to promote yourself.
You know, being a DJ is all about promotion.
You want to get your name out there.
So you could have an NFT collection.
So, and then let them know that they can showcase what they're doing online
and build a community and, you know, build their community even bigger
through the unstoppable domains um
what's it called uh you've got your you know you can showcase you can go into the you can go into
the the dashboard and show and see what nf see what nfts you've got and showcase them so
you know that djs know that they can show their online activity and build a community and not enhance their community, but grow it.
Yeah, grow it.
One thing about DJs, it's all about getting out there and growing your reach.
And that's another thing.
You know, I've grown my reach since being in Web3.
So that's, you know, after the whole micro push,
micro payment push and tipping
I want to use
These domains to show that
You can not
Build a community so to speak
I'd say enhance or yeah sorry
Grow you can grow
An extra community
Because I know since I've been in web free
And distributing NFTs you know my community
Has grown since i've been in web free and distributed nfts you know my community has grown
i love all that i love the way you're gonna look at um you know growing it okay we're gonna do one more question idris do you have another question too
yes yes i do uh thank you so much for the insightful information that you've been providing. And my question goes in the way of like, you have all these perks that are attached to getting this TLD,
like the badge and the rest of them.
Are we going to see in the nearest future how this translates to an IRL event?
Like if I have the VIP, can I come to a VIP event or would there be
other in real world uh activations that I can partake in if I hold uh your TLD so so you know
the TLD is an extension of DJ Punks my community so if you go on the tj punks website you will see a lot of benefits real real
world benefits you can have from holding the dj punk so we've already launched on bitcoin
via ordinal's platform and we've launched on base so. So the DJ Punks collection is called,
OnBase, it's called DJ Punks Fill The Bass,
and we're launching on Solana on the 8th of June,
and that collection, so there's 5,000 in total,
but they're split, it's multi-chain,
it's a multi-chain NFT collection.
So the collection that we're minting on Solana on 8th of June
is called DJ P's Fill the Soul
So we're playing on the word, I'm playing on the word of soul
S-O-U-L, but our spell is soul, S-O-L, so DJ Punk's Fill the Soul
So in answer to your question, the TLD is just part of the, it's just part of the over
It's just part of the, it's just one of the benefits
So if you're on the DJ Punk, yeah of the benefits So if you own a DJ punk
Yeah you get
If you go on the website which is DJpunks.xyz
You will see a list of benefits
By holding a DJ punk
So for example
Sorry my mind's gone a little bit blank So yeah networking
We're going to have live speakers
I'm going to invite people to come and speak
You get a profit share
In the DJ Near Me app
Paid out in our token
Also you can franchise
The DJ Near Me app
So basically what the DJ Near Me app is
Is that if someone's looking for a DJ
They can just put in a postcode of where their event
Is and DJs that are nearby will show up
That app is just
For London but
You know maybe you're in a different country
You can franchise the app
Why reinvent the wheel
You can just pay a small fee
And you know We can adapt that app for your
country for your city so there's a whole uh leap of uh benefits of um that's if you're holding a
dj pump so the tld is just one aspect but also what i've been doing with a lot of my NFTs and I will do this with the
domain name as well, is that if you hold any of my
NFTs, if you hold
a TLD and I'm putting
on a party and you can show me
that you hold one, then yeah, you'll get
in free. Obviously, I'm based
in London, so
there are certain perks and there will
be more perks.
So there are perks of holding the DJ Punk's NFT,
but there will be more.
I'm going to incorporate the TLD as well.
So there are perks of holding these NFTs.
It looks like I'm coming to London then.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I mean, I'm on radio in, you know,
and although a lot of the perks, we're all one family.
So a lot of the perks that are just for the DJ,
punks, NFTs, I see no reason why they can't be for the TLD as well.
So another thing could be is that I'm on radio in the UK,
in London, and I do my radio in London And I do my radio show remotely
I do my radio show from home
My show is like
10am in the morning
Sometimes I'm just jumping out of bed
And you know, I'm on radio
So there's an opportunity
From there, there's an opportunity
There may be DJs in other countries
That want to do a show
In London, and I can hook that up
So if you own
Or the TLD
I'm willing to hook that up
So you know
You just don't have to be in London
I'm trying to say
If you are in London and I'm putting on club nights
Or putting on events Then, you owe my NFTs.
You're either getting for free or at a discounted rate.
But if you're not in the UK, there are other benefits.
Like I said, I can hook up radio shows.
I can, if you want jingles, some of these famous people, there may be a fee, but there's a lot of artists i can contact and they can do you jingles
and you know and consultancy and networking all that can be can be done remotely and yes you know
just to finalize and i will do this all those benefits on the dj punks website that you get
from holding the dj punks um if you hold if you hold the TLD as well
You can access
Access those benefits as well
Just join the discord
Join, you know, follow me on
Follow the DJ punks
Twitter, DM me
Join the discord
Just show me that you got the
The domain name
And, you know, go through the menu
and if there's anything in there
that you want access to,
I'm willing to give you access or help you.
You know, it's all about sharing.
You can learn from me and I can learn from you.
That was the whole point of setting up the community.
You know, I've got a lot of contacts,
but there's certain things I can't access
and maybe someone that joins the community
Has got what I need
So that's what it's all about
So most definitely holding the TL
Holding the domain name
Or DJ Punk
It gives you
There's access to real world assets
Thank you very much
I mean, he
And I are going back and forth
on Telegram. Like we were doing it yesterday on Sunday. I had just, we had just arrived someplace
with my, my daughter and my husband and we're going back and forth on Telegram. And he's like,
can you do this? And I was like, well, here's where I am right now. I can't do it right now.
So he's a great guy. I mean, when he says he'll help you or he'll do he'll share he really needs it for sure well
DJ L I really appreciate your partnership I appreciate you spending the time
on this spaces with us too anybody else have any last question before we close this one out
and DJ L we'll have to come back before we close this one out?
And DJ, we'll have to come back when we have some, you know, to play some music, right?
No, definitely.
I'll do a little mix.
Like I said, I mean, I've been DJing so long and I'm a bit of a perfectionist.
What happens, I know you asked me to do a mix, but what happens with me is I'll do it and i think that doesn't sound right and i'll be
there all day if the general public hear it they will say they will say it's fine but me i just i'm
a perfectionist i always see i always see and hear imperfections that just takes me forever
but definitely i'm sure we can we can drum up something and i want to invite you know some
celebrities to these spaces as well, you know some artists and
You know things like that, but most definitely I want to say I
Want to thank unstoppable Domains for welcoming me as well because you know
When I thought of the extension I thought there's no
Bigger or greater organization that can bring this into reality than yourself.
So, you know, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity because I feel that if I didn't do it, somebody else would, you know.
That's right. And I have to say, I asked Christian.
Christian works for MetaMask and he and I have become friends.
And I didn't know this, but at East Denver,
he mixed for like three or four different parties. I didn't know he was a DJ. So I actually invited
him. I talked to DJL first and I asked if he would come on our spaces. Unfortunately,
he was in Europe and I think it's dinner time now because he told me he had a meal planned at this
time. But the next time we do a space, he would love to come on and mix for us mix definitely for us you know yeah that would be really cool
that would be great i'm gonna gift him his uh dj name i'm waiting for him to get me his dj name so
we can get that for him well guys thank you so much for joining us um you know i i really 135 i
know you're always on Johan Idris.
I just really appreciate it very much.
Crow with knife.
You guys are rocking the memes and rocking everything.
I really appreciate you guys too.
So thanks for joining us today.
If there's any other questions or anything else we can do for you, you know, just reach out to myself or a GJL.
you know, just reach out to myself or a DJL,
Make sure you follow him.
And if you didn't get your .DJ,
make sure you do that so you can support him
and what he has planned for tipping
and everything else for these businesses.
And like I said-
Anything you want to close with?
What's that, sorry?
I said anything you would like to close with.
Oh yeah, just say that,
jump into Discord,
DM the DJ Punks, Twitter,
and let's just compensate, let network you know that's how i
came the whole point of the whole collection and all of this is that i know how hard it was for me
to come up you know but i just networked get got to know people and i feel that there's djs out
there just like me in the early days you know that are struggling or want to move forward and
that's what the whole collection
is about, it's about networking, coming together
so yeah like DM
me, join Discord, DM
the DJ Punks, Twitter and
you know let's get things popping
let's network and you know maybe I can help
you move things forward and maybe you can help
me, you know that's what I love about Web3
that's what I love about these communities
is that they're open
and that's it, that's what I love about Web3. That's what I love about these communities is that they're open. And that's it. That's about it, really.
Thank you. Thanks, guys, very much. Okay. Well, with that, we'll end this Monday Twitter space,
and hopefully I'll talk to you guys as we, you know, continue to join spaces and get to know
each other better. Again, DJ, I'll thank you guys so much. Talk soon. And thank you. Bye.
