Twitter space as we do every Tuesday morning to the morning at least my time. The conford getting into a really good conversation with Tim Ran from Mercy Court Ventures. Tim and I have had a chance to connect a couple of times.
Through the regenerative finance ecosystem and been appreciating how he shows up in the space as a supporter and obviously providing critical fuel for projects that are aiming to make
impact through Web 3 and Beyond. So looking forward to digging into that today. Welcome Sean and Mike. All in always a pleasure. Yeah, so why don't we just start to dig in. First of all, Sean, I know you
been traveling, I just wanted to say hello and see how you're doing over I think you're in Europe or maybe you're on your way back. I'm inviting you to speak to just in case you are able to join us but either way it's good to see you and safe travels wherever you end up being.
Tim, why don't we kick it off with you and I'm just reflecting on this morning, you know, across blaring headlines is essentially Europe and parts of England are
the highest temperatures and 350 plus years of recorded history. Heat wave, if anyone's read ministry of the future, it feels like some of the nightmare scenarios are becoming more realistic and I think which brings even more
focus toward work. At the same time, trying to become, you know, held captive by the really unsettling stories playing out across the world when it comes to the impacts of climate change. But clearly it's something on your mind. At Mercy Corventors, nice to meet you personally.
Maybe you could share a little bit about how a day like this reflects on your work. Does it provide you the inspiration to double down where you are at? How's your own Tim Rand states in the
reflecting on days like today. Thanks Dave and yeah I appreciate the opportunity to meet with you all today. It's great to be here in fact with the folks. Yeah you know I think like anybody right certainly waiver between intense optimism
because my days are spent connecting with incredible entrepreneurs who are building solutions for the future who are really confronting climate change with a dose of humility but also just
feel like we're on the the flexion point where you know activism potentially the public markets technology we can supervibrevice that all these things are starting to align not quite in the same ways the ministry of finance you know that that took a decade a lot of different shocks
Maybe wake our collective consciousness and push us in the right direction, but it does feel like we're at that complex point where we might feel a lucky difference. But at the same time, you know, certainly the news coming out of Europe and was in London last week feeling the heat wave a bit, although
you know, and retrospect not nearly as hot as it is every day here in Panama, but that's not to discount to us, certainly very different, different climates. But, um, but regardless, you know, the, the shocks and stress climate change are here for being felt, um, and, uh, certainly across
headlines and I think from our perspective, the headlines that don't get space and share the massive overhanging drought in Kenya, the severe food shortages and for long multi-year drought in Yemen and in the conflict there.
has been fueling humanitarian disaster and on-scale portions like this. There is at least responsible for climate change or are bearing the brunt of it and we will continue to bear the brunt of it. As more developed economies have the resources and the means to build adaptive capacity and whether it
So I do think that these instances, you know, wake the collect conscience of the global north to, you know, the fact that they're also at risk. But I guess my hope from that is that that spurs, you know, more introspection on how we look at climate justice, governments
