um so uh for those of you who know nothing about Empire Builder, thank you for joining us.
How did you find us?
But also, Empire Builder is a tool suite and resources geared to help people go from dream to empire.
What does that mean?
One of my passions is wondering what people could be utterly amazing at if they had support and ability
to do it. And I know that they would be incredible in ways that I never would or could. And I want
to see that in the world. And so I am fascinated at the disruptive potential of blockchain and what
it can support. And when you hear about, what do they say,
10,000 hours to be really great at something,
that you can learn these skills.
You can get 1,000 fans and you can support your career
depending on your price point.
I see this convergence of all of these things.
And so for me, when I was talking with Adrian,
this is kind of what
the impetus was when we kind of joined forces to create Empire Builder. At the very simplest level,
it is token tools right now. That's it. You get a treasury, you get a leaderboard, you get,
I'll show you a picture later. You get a leaderboard, you get boosters, you get a leaderboard you get we'll show you a picture later you get a leaderboard you get
boosters you get a reward distribution and you can burn and airdrop entities and new things that
adrian adds regularly so we'll uh we'll dive into that but do you want to talk about your
motivation adrian yeah i think my motivation sort of stemmed like in a very non-linear, linear way.
It started, yeah, last July, I would even say.
And I was building a project called SceneCoin, where basically in a frame, you could generate a token based on your profile.
So it would just generate a token.
And the dream was that you would click the frame
and it would generate the token and launch that token like straight away.
I couldn't get that to work, basically.
I had to go through Mint Club SDK to actually mint the token,
which has like a $2 fee.
So I couldn't cop that fee by myself.
So I had to like allow the people to actually deploy it themselves
and pay the fee, which just added extra friction.
And it took off a little bit.
People were liking it, reviving it,
but ultimately didn't really take off.
I have like a manifesto for that which
i think aligns very well with um empire builder but it's basically um you know the whole system
was broken it was around the time moxie came out initially with the fan tokens and i just wasn't like
quite convinced that that was the way like that was very controlled and it was like very
unregulated and clanker came controlled and it was like very unregulated
and clanker came along and it was like wow this is this is how it should be you have a clear reward
stream and everything and that made me switch so i created glonky bot just to sort of slap onto that
um straight away with alex and then after that came along um we needed to build out the tools
because there's sort of no point.
That was part of the original manifesto of SceneCoin
is you create the token, then what, right?
Then there's nothing to do after that.
So you need something to create,
keep going after that, create the tools,
whether it's just a simple airdrop frame or something,
you know, to keep it going or a raffle frame.
But that just sort of evolved and sort of snowballed talking to you jordan into into empire builder um so yeah
that's let me can i can i say what i think empire builder is too um you know when we launched
clanker it was very much in that experimental mindset. Very quickly, we saw there was this powerful rewards mechanism, this kind of kernel of an idea we had was quickly scaling to support early stage projects going a lot further with coins.
The one thing I've talked publicly about a lot is like most coins die.
And we really didn't want to like build around that.
We didn't want to build around coins dying.
The way we saw the PumpFun or other launchpad kind of architecture is that the apps and the protocols were profiting from that kind of speculative churn.
and the protocols were profiting from that kind of speculative churn. And our revenue model,
we actually have way more upside when coins perform well. We make more ETH, we make more
tokens, we just make more money from coins performing well. And I really wanted to lean
into that. And I think the first kind of obvious thing is I realized like we need to build
around the whole life cycle of a coin. And I feel like Empire Builder is an amazing example of that,
where these guys are building like infra for, you know, coin deployers to go further. So whether
it's a meme coin or a product, whether it's deployed by one person or a DAO or whatever it is, a bot.
Empire Builder has a set of tools that has expanded, continues to grow and provides people with options from immediately after launch to six months down the road.
So I think it's very promising tech and I like the kind of ideology behind it, too.
Thank you. Yeah. And that really resonates.
And I think there's things we've written about before and talked about before, which is, you know, I have a background in health sciences, nature studies, the computer stuff.
Like so looking at systems and how they operate. And what resonates for me is you see in this space, huge people that make a crap ton of money in businesses extracting from people.
And they kind of leave like a path of sorrow and suffering in their wake of taking advantage of people who don't have the knowledge or the psychological, you know, you can be ape into something and you got FOMO.
And it's their human nature stuff. And you do grow and learn through that. But there's companies that
are that are really predatory. And there's there's practices that are very parasitic.
And they they succeed at the cost of people around them and each other here. And they do it
anonymously because we're in this world. But that's not the way that I choose to live,
want to live, or be a part of.
And I know that we can organize
in ways that are generative.
We can, you know, people,
it's like people have the mindset
that a pie is only so big,
but you can actually make the pie bigger.
You know, it's not like a scarcity mindset.
You can have an abundance mindset
and you can structure things in ways that grow and move forward.
And one of the analogies I come to often is thinking about like fruit trees.
You know, you take care of the tree.
You take care of the roots.
You take care of the body.
And you will get fruit.
But if you're just pulling energy out of the trunk and you're pulling energy the roots, you take care of the body, and you will get fruit. But if you're just pulling energy out of the trunk, and you're pulling energy, and you're just
cutting it to the, you know, core all the time, it's going to die, and you won't get any fruit.
And if you let it grow, you get so much fruit that, you know, you take some fruit, and then
the other fruit falls on the ground, and it creates more soil and more nutrients and you get a beneficial cycle.
And so that's the energy and ethos that I seek to bring with these tools.
And like you were saying, Proxy, like and I I have worked in the past with different projects.
I've worked in digital marketing. I've worked in community building.
building. And one of the huge inspirations for me was, it was how Clanker operates in a trustless
manner. It's solid. You know, that's the great thing about Clanker is like, you can buy a Clanker,
you're not going to get rugged. It's not a honeypot. It can't be. This is glorious. And it made it super low friction and super easy so anyone could do it.
And this kind of brought us the conversation, Adrian and I, of saying, well, what do we see
the need for? And that's the whole thing of like well for managing communities there's all kinds of
tools that in the past you wanted to have and you would have to go and find some dev somewhere who
you never met and they're online and you have to trust them and they're going to build something
and and maybe it's good but maybe they're going to backdoor something. And the whole early Web3 era was just full of like ruggery and nastiness.
And so actually being able to present and put these tools forward,
ones that are simple, easy to use, and just provide,
they provide a palette that people can paint whatever they want with.
You know, and i think that's
the the fun and exciting and beautiful thing is seeing how different empires are using the
different tools and how they can use and reward and incentivize uh communities so that's something i'm
i'm very passionate and excited about

can be under here so it's more of a collective mindset what i really want people to understand
is that the world could really be a better place if we only like lived really like trying to help
each other trying to love each other it's it's modern
society it's not built like that it's a solo pvp game so it's just you against everyone and
everyone else and you you just think about your basket and you're done that's what society is
telling you to do lately from i don't know since i've been here possibly but you know it's it's
it's that's what i want people to to to realize we can be
better like we need to stick together and be better i love that ethos you know i joined farcaster
uh about a year and a month ago and i joined as a complete anon um i had spent some time uh working
and trading in crypto prior but i did not use any of those connections or that network.
And I wanted to prove to myself that someone could start just completely from zero and make it on Farcaster.
And both just to kind of like challenge myself and remind myself how important it is to work hard but also because like that's the promise of crypto and i was i was feeling a little skeptical of it
at that moment in my life and i feel a lot more optimistic a year later so i with that uh
that kind of vibe and and that purpose yeah bro it's it's we we we told it like what five minutes ago it's
still ragville somehow so you know the problem for me like i don't want to go into cosmical
kind of talks here sorry guys stop me if i go too far but this is probably your
army is greed greed is the problem in society okay and that why because you don't
need a fancy car you don't need a rolex if i will become rich one day i swear to god you know the
classic meme if i'll be rich uh there will be signs no bro there won't be nothing probably buy
a house in in the like uh woods or whatever own shit, have some animals and then use the vast majority
of the money to help as many people as I can.

That's really what I really, I know it's hard
to believe me right now,
because it's not like what society is, bro.

But it was also like a statement of, you know, values.
We didn't want to like cash out some huge amount of money right away.

and a lot more building to accomplish for our users who had just, you know, kind of extended
trust in a big way. And luckily we will get paychecks soon because we're not, you know,
like outside of Clanker, we're just, you know, regular people. people and i don't know it's been an interesting experience
uh people i think have expected that i would be like spending a lot of money i i don't really
like that's not what it's about for me i think for a lot of people who are founders it's about like
the challenge it's about the scoreboard and the what you build and just like how fucking hard it is.
Amen, bro. You will never like success is a never-ending running marathon or whatever.
You don't get success.
If you are really successful people, you will still go after it.
Even when you get there, you will still go after it.
even when you get there you want to still go after it totally this is life is is less about
Totally.
the destinations and more about the journey that that you walk and you know it sounds cliche but
cliches or cliche because they usually have a chunk of truth in them too and uh you know yeah
i think i just wanted to say going back with push that, and we'd say that crypto in crypto people can be very dubious and understandably so, but also trusting initially, like, you know, there's this, this, this combination of being skeptical, but also being open and, and walking this tension. You can see someone who shows up over time and that gives you an increased ability to trust.
And so when I when I see a push, the fact that you just recently, a few days ago, finished four years of making a new art piece every day.
Yeah, skipping a day for over four years.
And that's a huge achievement.
And you might say that, you know, it's not, you know,
but it also is.
And I think that it speaks to your character.
And that's one of the reasons I'm so excited
to be a part of helping facilitate
and help you use these tools, but to bring
your vision into the world more and to also model what a sustainable, generative kind
of ecosystem can look like for you as an artist and a creator.
And so that's, you know, when we look at the different tools,
the people that could use these tools,
I often write creators, builders, founders,
and you can always fit yourself
into one of those categories or a couple.

You know, and yeah, so that's,
so I'm just so excited to be here at the beginning
of this next part of your voyage.
Yeah, I think that was one of the first things we had in mind when we were creating Empire Builder was like, how would an artist, like, what's the point of an artist having their own token, right?
So they create their own token.
They have people buy it because you know they're
known artists and then how do they reward that community people were using uh what was it alpha
friends to reward their subs hyper subs like other mechanisms but those are low liquid assets like
you can't really earn anything from them whereas clanker open up an avenue where the artists can have like a constant
revenue stream from their token um by having that as their token but then how do you reward
the members the real community members not just some whales that happen to be in the top 10 and
that's where the boosters idea came in you can add previous artworks previous rodeo mints previous
anything that only your true
community members would have minted and then they can get a boost up the
leaderboard and be more likely to get airdrops in the future and have tea
airdrops whatever it is that the artist wants to distribute to benefit their
community so this is sort of how it all started I reckon is really with the
mindset of how would an artist use these tools
before anything else so this is sort of built built for you bush in a lot of ways because it
also goes back to that whole thing of of how tools that allow a person to support and curate and care
for their community and their garden and their people, you know? So, so, you know, people who show up and are encouraging and kind and,
and speak every day and maybe they're not able to buy stuff, but you know what?
They show up and they share and they do all this and you see that.
And so with these tools now, like, I mean, you can mint an NFT.
You can give them an NFT. You can, you can, you know,
you can reward people in your community with art that also has this other value attached to it.
And yeah, there's so many different ways that you can use this.
I'm delighted.
We've got other things we're working on too.
But the ability to even do NFTs and have splits on where the fees go so that you can like do collabs or you can
launch a limited edition art and have it go into the treasury, have it pay the artists,
have it support the community. There's just all these ways to be generative and to be creative.
And so, you know, this is a, I will say one thing that is all of you guys are welcome to join our
discord, swing on by there because that uh an area that we have tools and
resources and i'm also very passionate about building all those resources so that we can uh
help each other to to share our knowledge and curate that and uh really just excel in those

Yep, absolutely.
Because then we can follow that with some more other conversation stuff that we have to talk about,
and Push can start sharing some of the boosters.

Yeah. Oh yeah. The interface is like, I think pretty basic. So like your clankers will auto
populate your most recent four that you've deployed.
The most recent four I've deployed happen to be test ones.
So that will auto-populate in there and it will verify that you're actually the owner of the clanker.
And once that's done, so if I put like, you know, whatever, something like Bracky or something that I obviously don't own or Clanker itself.
It's not going to allow me to deploy it.
And basically, when you deploy, it creates an empire contract, which is essentially your treasury contract,
which allows you to bulk send certain tokens and also burn a bunch of tokens.
And you can have authorized members so if it's like a community token you can have multiple people that
manage that Treasury but the contracts are completely completely yours to own
like they are owned by you no one else has control over them we don't have
control over them once they're deployed they're attached to your token as a
Treasury tool and you can use them as you please.
You could even build a new interface
that interacts directly with them.
You don't necessarily need to use our interface.
So, and once you've deployed,
also you can create a token.
We've just added creative vaults as well,
thanks to the new Clanker update.
So yeah, you can deploy a token,
it will deploy a Clanker
and automatically attach an empire
to it um and once you do deploy an empire it will appear on this leaderboard it's ranked by the
amount distributed um we have ratchet in second place now dick bart fed chain has moved fed chains
moved up a lot actually in the past couple days um and yeah and some og ones mt mtdb was i think the first ever uh native um
native empire deployed token uh and if you actually go to forge you can see all the ones so we have
ghost uh who deployed credit natively on ours and has had a pretty major run recently got a lot of
traction a lot of volume in the past few days. I can maybe speak on that in a bit.
But yeah, basically it will appear somewhere
on the leaderboard once you deploy.
We've had a few random ones recently.
And once you do, let's just go to the GlonkyBot one.
You'll see your treasury, you can add authorized tokens.
So it's not just every token in the contract will get distributed.
You'll need to actually allow tokens.
Otherwise, you know, people can just send random spam tokens there and then say like,
oh, look, that's in the treasury.
It's like, no, you only like show the ones that are authorised and you can choose
to authorise different tokens.
And then it's very simple.
You can just do a burn anytime,
burn it however much you wanna burn of your token
and distribute as well.

I haven't used this StreamYard before, whether it shows it or not.
I know in Google Meets it doesn't show up, but yeah, I might not do that right now.
With the claim rewards one again, people can connect that to the wallet to automatically draw from the contract.
How does that work?
Yeah, I will show you that.
That doesn't work on this one
because that's a claim could be one,
but I can show on the test one.
So let's go with the ST test.
So there's obviously zero rewards here,
but when you claim the rewards, you can...
So this one's already set up to claim to treasury,
but you can switch it to claim to your
wallet or and then switch back so basically right now this is set up so all the rewards when i click
claim to treasury all the rewards will go straight to the treasury and this will populate and you
know right now i did a recent claim and got 52 of this test token and less than 0.001 week when I claim the rewards.
But then I can switch it back so that when I claim,
it claims back to my address essentially.
So I can switch back and forth freely where the rewards go.
And, yeah, and it will show you how much you're actually getting.
And, yeah, and then once um have stuff in your treasury you can um
distribute and that's based on the leaderboard rank so right here there's only only two people
on this leaderboard but um yeah i guess the flow is you create your treasury uh create your empire
maybe add some stuff add some boosters and this is where the real key comes in once you add boosters so boosters will boost your score so your score is based on the
amount of tokens you hold times your boosters so right now for example i'm fourth on the clanker
leaderboard with 19.5x so realistically i only have less than 500 uh million tokens, right? But my score is 11 billion, if that's correct,
by my maths, right?
Whereas whatever this address is,
probably holds more tokens than me,
but I'm above them on the leaderboard due to my boosts.

you know we got to stand up we got to express our values and honestly like I'm incredibly proud of

And this is where Push deployed first from an anonymous, from a fresh wallet. So there's no snipers. There's no one else watching it. So he deployed it. And then he was able to add his main wallet and main identification as another guardian to it.

it and they're going to do like things to to grow the thing you could actually take like if say you

You're giving them the ability to do more with, with the project and with using all

multiply for free. You could copy paste. You could take ideas, you could make a PDF,
and you could throw it out there and it could spread like bunnies.
It could multiply in the night.

And, and, and there was all kinds of systems that developed because of that era of digital
abundance.
This is when people started.
I mean, I was back in the day, early Facebook, man, you could grow an audience like nothing.
Um, but then you have people moving into like email newsletter list, right.
Um, and into like Patreon and crowdfunding crowdfunding and ways of getting support from it, a donation.
Because there was no scarcity, it couldn't hold value because you could copy paste.
And then what digital scarcity has done is it's allowed us to make digital things that can hold value and so to me
the zora coin one of the things i'm not so keen on is the fact that one unit of this thing is worth
like fractions fractions fractions of a cent and and i do think it's a tool i think it has a use
and i think that there are use
cases for it. Like, I mean, you've done a brilliant thing with it. But I think that
telling most artists that their work, that they should pursue this hyper-fractionalization
of their work and effort, I think it does a disservice to their artistry.
And I think that there are probably better models that will better support their goals
and their desires in finding a way to connect a supportive small community
that will really appreciate what they're doing
