It's time to take it to a small potential, keep this, and drop some game on the instrument
and it's essential that you listen close and run until your folks let the locust smoke.
First things first, it's your day to brush, you've been kinda confused about what your life is worth.
50 million times your weight in gold, you gotta take control, cause moves don't need to be on.
You can do anything that you wanna do. All you gotta do is put your brain into it.
Take your time and educate your mind. In the long run, I'm sure you'll find that if you walk the walk, you can talk the talk.
But don't wait too long, cause life is short. And remember, no matter what they're telling you, if you're tired, you can be a winner too.
Keep on pushing, moving on up, everybody, we're moving on up. Moving on up, you're a winner, you gotta keep pushing.
Moving on up, everybody, we're moving on up. Moving on up, you're a winner.
Everybody rise, women, women, boys, and girls. Each one teach one, but we can't save the world.
All in one day, you gotta take it play by play. And once you hold the path, don't you ever go astray.
You can lead a hustle, but you can't make it clear. You can come and answer with them, but you can't make it clear.
It's been your time, say it's nine, dirty, but it's the world. All you can think about is getting pressure on your body.
Now let's start one, time is nothin'. How so many years we graduate from colleges?
Better to be silent than we thought before, you bitches. Speaking we move on now, know what I'm talking about.
When opportunity knocks, you better let them in, and city mode man, and you try to be astray.
In order to be an adventure, folks, you gotta be a beginner. But if you keep on pushing, you can be a winner.
Moving on up, everybody, we're moving on up. Moving on up, you're a winner. Gotta keep pushing. Moving on up, everybody, we're moving on up.
Let's go, everybody. I'm so hyped for today's episode. It's gonna be absolutely amazing.
We still have two more minutes of intro, so drop a GM in the comments, guys.
I read through the space so more people can see it and vibe with us, and I was thinking about some song, you know, for space exploration.
I just come up with one idea, and I don't think that's, you know, that the movie had a positive ending.
So I just tease it a little bit, but I moved to something better.
Okay, okay, that's enough, guys. Let's fucking go!
Hey, hey!
Hey, hey, hey, oh, hey, oh, hey, hey, oh, hey, oh, oh, hey, oh, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey...
You heard a lot about a brother getting low ground. Being low down, I do the showdown with any little ho around.
Gm, gm everybody.
What an exciting time to be alive.
Oh my god, so much is happening in the space and I love space travel since I've been a kid
and this is going to be a really exciting episode.
So welcome to The Grateful Show, 237, let's go!
Gm, gm guys, I hope you are having an amazing Thursday.
When I was doing a prep for today's space, I was really, really excited and I know the
launch should be yesterday.
They had to postpone it, so I think it's going to happen today around 4pm, so we are just
I hope everyone will be safe.
I'm always so nervous about space launches, so I hope all be good.
You know, the Falcon 9 rocket will launch for astronaut, so it's absolutely insane.
I'm super proud of the artists that you guys picked, you know, Richard and 7 others, that's
absolutely awesome.
Before I say hi to our guest today, I want to say hi to Beast, man, how are you doing
Yo, gm to everyone.
Man, I'm doing well.
I'm excited about the space today, excited about going to the space actually today.
We have incredible timing, as you mentioned, like it looks like it's going to happen in
about like 3 hours, so it's perfect.
And I can't wait to chat with everyone, you know, and to see all the people here, so
let's fucking go.
100%, man, I did a little bit of research and actually they sent, it's a very famous
Czech character, it's called Little Mole, and Little Mole was in space I think in 2011,
so I absolutely love the connection between art, web 3 and space.
So can't wait to learn more.
But before we start the space and invite our guests on stage, I found something that I think
that's the only way how to start the space.
So get ready, six, five, four, three, two, one.
Let's go, everybody.
Let's fucking go.
GM, GM, I want to start with Payman, Payman, thank you so much for putting this together.
How are you doing, man, today?
Hey, GM, GM, I'm feeling great, man.
I'm just so excited as if I'm going to space myself.
I'm just super like, you know, beast and you guys were like saying, wow, this thing
got delayed and you know, it happened to be just on this day that we have the show for
You know, I know that when I talk to Mina, I said, are you guys doing it live, you know,
spaces during the launch?
He's like, no way, it's too busy.
And I'm like, totally understand.
But look how things work, right?
Like Deepak Chopra calls this synchro destiny, you know, it's like, you know, when it's
meant to be, the universe works in mysterious ways.
And I really feel like I just wanted to like really just say how excited I am and
just feel I appreciate you, grateful and beast and to make this happen like, you
know, in such an urgent way, you know, it happened in such a short time.
And you guys saw the greatness in this project and the artists that are involved.
And I'm just super excited that we were able to make this show happen.
So yeah, thank you, guys.
Let's fucking go.
Let's go, Payman.
Axiom Space, how are you guys doing today?
I don't know who's behind the mic.
So if you can introduce yourself, that would be amazing.
This is an absolute vibe.
Thank you for having us up.
My name is Mina Salim.
I'm the head of Web3 at Axiom Space.
I've been in the Web3 community since February 21.
Avid collector, you know, had quite a bag, got drained one time.
You know, so I did the whole gamut of things.
And, you know, I got into, came full time to Axiom Space about a year ago and
been building the Web3 program ever since.
And, you know, we're just super excited to be here with all of you.
Y'all are absolute legends.
I'm actually sitting next to Richard right now, who, it's funny because I guess we
are doing a live space.
Obviously, the drop on Nifty Gateway launched yesterday, but the actual launch is
taking place today at 4.55 p.m.
And we're actually going to get ready to get on the bus to get over to the launch
station. So, you know, it's pretty funny.
I was like, but we can't really miss this.
So I don't I don't want to reschedule.
I wanted to make sure we were all here.
We got Richard sitting next to me.
So, Richard, you want to say hello?
Hey, yeah.
GM, GM legend. Long time no see.
I know, man, it's been forever since we've chatted.
But I'm glad you guys are doing well.
And I appreciate all of you guys for being so supportive and everything.
And it's great to be back on the show.
It's it's been like a couple of months.
God, you guys are doing well as well. So.
Amazing, Richard man.
I've been watching your journey.
You know, you were you used to be 14 years photographer and now you are 16
years photographer. Oh, my God.
Time flies quickly in this space.
It's crazy.
But I've been watching your journey and it's absolutely amazing.
And I saw your piece.
It's also beautiful photo.
So big shout out to you and big shout out to all the artists because the pieces
piece probably could you pin the tweet to Nifty Gateway so people can see it?
Because the art is absolutely amazing.
Yeah, art is absolutely fire.
Actually, we have Dave Krugman on with us as well.
Also, absolute legend in the space.
So we should try to get him up here if he can chat.
But, you know, just so you guys know, I want to be I want some behind
the scenes stuff from hang out with Richard from hang out with Richard
in in Florida at the launch.
He has at one point said I feel so old.
And honestly, I was going to punch him.
Honestly, this dude said I feel so old.
I'm 32. OK.
And this man, this dude said I feel so old to get 16.
He's he's doing the work that you see that he's doing right now.
You see you see it linked up on the spades on top.
So this guy's crazy.
And it's a huge blessing to work with him.
Super exciting to to meet him and jam with him.
Dave is in in a crowded restaurant.
So he's going to it's going to be tough for him to come up right now.
But, you know, he might he might join up a little later.
But yeah, I just wanted you guys to know that just so you know,
you know, this guy and how how ambitious he is.
I'm super happy that I'm a collector of Richard's art.
I'm really, really happy that I was able to snap it.
I'm also a collector of Dave's art.
So I know you also want something from from Dave.
Such a beautiful shot of the car.
Oh, my God. So I was the lucky one.
Also, I'm also the collector of Richard's one, Dave's one and other artists.
I think I have something from Amber.
Also, she's also a part of it.
So it's it's such a nice group of people, like honestly, like those eight artists.
Like you guys, one of the most inspiring for me, like in the space.
So I'm super happy actually that like this collection like became like, you know, like a reality.
Yeah, that's such an amazing benefit to be active in this space,
to meet all these amazing artists.
And be basically part of their journey.
You know, I remember when Richard dropped his collection, you know, when I was able to get it.
I remember the drip drop meant.
So it's absolutely amazing.
And it's super stoked that we can talk actually about like SpaceX launch,
you know, of the Falcon 9 rocket.
That's insane, right?
So, guys, I would.
Oh, I see chess here.
Chess. What's up, man?
I didn't see you.
You have a dark PFP.
I didn't see it on.
How are you doing, man, today?
Good. How are you?
I do my art.
Oh, great, man.
He was going to space in 2024, though.
Not not this week, but sometime in 24.
My art's actually going to the moon on an auto lander.
Oh, my God.
That's wild.
I know, chess, you told us about it.
That's incredible.
I absolutely love that, man.
We should do spaces also about it when it gets closer to the launch.
But, guys, I would love to learn more about Axiom Space,
and I know this is the third mission, actually.
So did they actually bring another art in previous two missions?
Why are you guys doing it?
You know, tell us more, because I'm really passionate about space
since I was a child.
I remember I think it was during an FDNYC.
I went to that, there's like a huge military ship.
I think there's a space shuttle in it, right, in NYC,
and I still have it in my memory.
It was such an amazing, amazing memory for me.
So tell us a little bit more.
I'm so hyped.
Yo, I'm hyped, too.
Honestly, you guys are such a vibe.
I love this show, first of all.
You guys are an absolute vibe.
So you're making me even more hyped for this launch
than I already was.
So Axiom Space, for anybody that's new to it,
is a commercial space company.
So you can think about it in terms of SpaceX.
As space becomes much more commercial,
we go from, obviously, NASA government space agency
to now more commercial endeavors led by SpaceX, Axiom Space,
and companies like that.
Our main focus, as compared to SpaceX,
is actually to build the first commercial space station.
So if you don't know, the ISS run by NASA
is set to go offline by 2030 or near there, right?
So actually, it will be decommissioned at a certain point,
and we actually have the contract
to be the first commercial space station to take its place.
So that's ultimately our North Star, our main goal,
to be the hub for all of humanity
to get up into space and to explore
and to be able to live the life of an astronaut,
as many NASA astronauts have lived.
Until then, what we do is we run essentially
annual or bi-annual missions to the ISS.
So we work with, we partner with SpaceX.
We take up their Dragon 9 rocket,
and we operate the full mission on the ISS.
We find astronauts, we train them,
we do everything from beginning to end.
And then ultimately, the astronauts spend about 10 days
on the last three missions have been 10-day missions.
They spend 10 days there.
They do research.
They have really tight schedules
throughout the time as they're up there.
And so as a company, we make space exploration
possible for so many, both governments
and private astronauts that want to go up.
Right now, our initial model was we worked with
private astronauts, people that paid their way to space.
There are new models.
We oftentimes work with government astronauts.
So this mission, what's special about it is
it's the first all-European mission.
We partnered with ESA, the European Space Agency,
on this mission.
And so there are astronauts
represented from Italy, Turkey, and Sweden on this mission.
It's been pretty historic.
And because of that, we wanted to make sure
what we did on the Web3 side was as historic
as the mission itself.
So we wanted to bring together
some of the best of the best in Web3.
So you know the names.
We have obviously Richard, who's sitting next to me.
We have Dave, who's in the crowd with us.
We have Eric, aka Snowfro, and Jordan, Lyle,
with their heart and craft.
Actually, they made a derivative piece, Space and Craft,
to celebrate this launch.
We have Amber Victoria, Mumbot, Dr. Sian Proctor,
and Jack Kaido, who got to meet in person.
Amazing guy.
So super blessed to be able to build on
the historic nature of all these Axiom launches.
And to the point of why we even do this, to be honest,
all the artists are like,
I can't even believe this is possible.
Why is Axiom letting us do this?
The amount of money it costs to actually
put up these pieces in space.
We're just partnering with the artists.
We don't really charge them anything
to bring their art up and do all of this stuff
and have them come to launch and all this stuff.
But the reason why we do is our goal
for the Web3 program is to democratize access to space.
We want space to be practical.
We want everyday people to be able to interact
and engage with space, have a piece of it.
And we think the best way to do that
is by partnering with amazing talented artists
who represent, in our opinion,
some of the best of humanity
and the creativity that comes with human beings.
And that's why we're doing Space Girls.
This is so fascinating, man.
And if you look at the space program,
there was such a huge vacuum at some point, right?
So I'm really happy that SpaceX kind of solved that.
Because if you look at the first flight,
I think, of a plane was I think around 1903.
1969, we were on the moon, which is wild.
And now we are getting back to the space travel
and probably due to SpaceX, right?
Like we have more flights
and we can bring more stuff to the space,
build those space stations.
It's absolutely crazy.
And working with Web3 or NFT artists,
that's another amazing thing
because I know in Saudi Arabia,
they are building that line city, right?
And I think they're working with Animokar
or someone from Web3 also
to bring the blockchain into that city.
So this is absolutely incredible.
And thinking about 2021
that you mentioned before that you joined the space,
like imagine thinking about this progress
in such a short time, right?
It's crazy.
So absolutely love to hear that.
Yeah, and actually, by the way,
in regards to Saudi Arabia,
Saudi Arabia actually flew
two of their government's astronauts on AX2.
And AX2 actually was, you know,
I guess a trial case for us.
We partnered with Thank You X,
the renowned Thank You X,
to bring his piece Urge for Perfection up to space.
It was then later auctioned off at Sotheby's.
And when I saw how excited Thank You X was
and how invested he was in the process,
how interested he was in space,
I was like, you know what?
Like, this might be a thing.
How do we like build this out,
turn this into a real program?
And that's where, you know,
how we came up with Space Girls,
partnered with transient labs
and Nifty Gateway on it.
And that's how it came to life.
But to your point,
I think the cool part is,
you know, putting, you know,
having, you know, fusing the
magnificence of space
and like the power of Web3 technology.
And then you, you know,
add the creativity of artists.
I feel like it just brings all of this
to the next level.
So super cool.
What is the role of transient labs?
Sorry, Beast.
I will just ask this and go ahead, man.
Yeah, I just wanted to say
like how the space actually fascinates me.
So because I'm one of those people
who watched interstellar,
like, I don't know,
like five times, six times.
I'm even when I work,
it usually plays,
you know, as a background music.
And even those life launches,
it's like a part of my journey.
Now, I would say that I even
remember when I was.
I don't know if you guys have it
also the same way,
but if you watch the life launch
of SpaceX,
I remember like when I was
in that place,
when I was watching it
throughout the life.
So it's kind of beautiful.
Go for it, grateful.
Go with the question.
Just Beast, you know,
interstellar was,
it's not based on reality, right?
So be careful with that.
My question was,
what's the role of transient labs?
Because I know they have
a really cool tech.
Our friend Michelle,
she had a collection with them.
Dave also had a drip drops with them.
So what was their role and
will there be some kind of like
epic tech behind?
By the way,
transient was absolutely integral
into making this reality.
Shout out to Dave Krugman
for, you know,
I asked Dave to participate
in Space Grails.
I pitched him on it and he's like,
yeah, this is super cool.
I'd love to be a part of it.
And then he then said,
but you got to talk to transient.
I already had, you know,
been talking to Nifty Gateway
about like, you know,
hosting it and putting it
on their platform.
He's like, you got to talk
to transient.
These people are super creative.
They're building amazing tools
for artists and creatives,
you know, to bring their web
three experience to the next level.
And they've been super integral
in working with each of the artists
to make sure that the pieces
and smart contracts came out
exactly the way they wanted
and the way they envisioned.
Actually, Richard,
sitting next to me,
did something super cool with transient
that he could explain
much better than I can.
So I'll pass it over to him.
Yeah, so for so what we did
with transient labs
is they have a special contract
called the doppelganger contract.
And what that does is
it's one single NFT token,
but it can hold different assets.
So as the metadata gets updated,
he basically view different assets.
So it's an array of images,
essentially,
or even videos that you can add onto it
and that I can update as well.
So for me, like, I have this photo
that I took with my parents
when I went to the Kennedy Space Center
when I was a kid.
I just pinned it up,
but I basically just recreated
that photo yesterday.
And what I want to do
is basically incorporate
like behind the scenes footage
and stuff like this
into the photograph
or into the actual NFT.
And transient labs right now
is actually building out
a way to view it really easily.
But I guess like the ultimate goal
that I really liked
with this tech that transient has
is that it gives me the ability
to really tell the story behind
I was talking with Snowfur
yesterday actually
about how like
you know, like art is very subjective.
Art is very subjective
and it's, you know,
some people will agree
with what you do
and some people won't.
Right. We saw this with people
and we saw this with like,
you know, generative art
and AI art.
And some people are going to like it.
Some people aren't.
Right. But what we're all united by
is like the story behind each of them.
Right. They all tell
a really important story
that the artist wants
the viewers to know.
And I think with
the Doppelganger contract,
I'm able to do that.
And it's something that I think
is really integral to what I do.
And hopefully, you know,
to my collectors
and to those that will
hopefully get this piece.
You know, hopefully it'll be
another cool perk of
being able to kind of understand
what went into this photograph
and what a full circle moment
this is for me.
Yeah, the storytelling behind art
is absolutely amazing.
And for me also,
it's important the journey
of the artist, right?
That I know you guys
that we can chat here on spaces
that we can, you know,
chat in DMs.
That's really amazing.
Also, I'm checking the art
and I love the pieces.
I see the bid on Eclipse
I think I also saw,
it's a silent auction.
So I don't know
if anyone bid on yours, Richard,
but I saw something
that you actually tweeted
something out, right?
We have confirmed
that there are bids
on all of the pieces.
I asked them to go
because I also, silent auctions
are pretty new to me
and actually is pretty new
to the couple of artists.
So we're like,
hey, how's this going?
And they're like,
no, it's going well.
It's going really well.
So, you know,
there are bids, thankfully.
Absolutely love to hear that, guys,
because the art is epic.
What was the process actually
of choosing the artist
that you want to work with?
Yeah, for me,
I started thinking,
as I was thinking
about Space Girls,
I was like, I want the collection
to be representative
of as many artistic styles
and genres as possible.
So when I was thinking about it,
I was like, you know what?
I want there to,
I want for photography,
web 3 photography
to be represented.
I want to make sure that,
you know, painters
are represented.
I want to make sure
that generative artists
are represented.
I want to make sure, you know,
all of these different art styles
are represented.
So honestly, when, you know,
I've been in space for a while,
I've collected a lot of these pieces.
I've worked with, you know,
for example,
I've worked with Amber Victoria before.
She actually, you know,
created a piece for us in March
for the Axiom Space 3 boarding pass.
I've worked with, you know,
I sponsored one of Dave's events
before I collected his pieces.
So I was familiar with some of the artists
and then there were a couple of artists
that I was like, you know,
love to work with Snowfrawl.
That would be freaking sick.
And then, you know,
was able to get connected to him
through one of our friends.
So, you know, all of these people
have kind of just been in the space
and, you know, have witnessed their greatness
and was trying to make sure
to find an artist
that represented distinct art styles.
Jack Kaido,
someone that through the experience
I got to know.
And I was like, man,
I was mind blown by his art
and, you know, his talent.
So which is super amazing
to have him involved.
And Dr. Proctor was somebody
from the space community
that I always wanted to work with.
And through this process,
actually, as I was thinking
about Space Girls,
I was like, well,
she's an NFT artist
and she's a commercial space astronaut.
She'd be perfect to work
with her on this.
And the reason we got her involved
is because she heard about
the open call that we did
to find the last remaining artist
that was going to join the program.
And so we invited her.
And then Richard was chosen,
actually, from, I think,
like 130 different submissions.
So we did an open call
to find the last Space Girls artist
that would send a piece up to space
and join kind of this mission.
And, you know, Richard came out on top
after, you know,
a pretty strict creation process
and he's joined us on this mission.
So that's kind of how, you know,
we got the eight artists together.
Love the process.
And you pick really, really well,
I would say, you know,
and I think for the artist,
like for you, Richard,
it has to be such a crazy experience, right?
Like, I remember when you started in the space
and now you're part of the Space Girls.
And I don't actually know how it works.
Like, I know there's one piece
that flies into the space.
So you put all art together
and send it there,
or how does that work?
Yeah, so we, each of the artists
could send one piece up to space.
So we had actually seven pieces go up.
Jordan Lyle and Snowfro,
you know, collabed on one piece.
They sent actually a heart,
a physical heart and craft to space.
And then each of the other artists
had sent one physical piece.
So Mumbot, who's with us,
sent, you know, an Augustus plush toy,
one of her characters in the Mumbot world to space.
And then, you know, each of the artists
picked a, you know...
Sorry, I think that was Rugg.
Can you hear me?
Yeah, we can hear you now.
Yes, you're back.
Yeah, so we had Mumbot
send the physical plush toy to space.
And then we had each of the other artists
sent a canvas up.
So, yeah.
And then some of them,
you'll find,
if you go through the Nifty Gateway Collection,
some of them are combining
the physical and the digital.
Or put a bid on the physical,
you'll actually,
and it's the winning bid,
you'll get the,
you know, if you put a winning bid
on the digital,
you'll get the actual physical piece.
Like Dave Krugman is,
for instance, is doing that.
So super cool experience.
And we wanted to keep it open
where each of the artists
got to choose exactly what,
how they wanted to do it
and combine the physical or digital.
I didn't want to really
make a bunch of rules
that they had to follow.
It's like,
they've been doing this,
they've been doing it well.
Each of them have been successful.
So I'm like,
you probably know better than me.
So, you know,
choose what you want,
but this is what we're offering.
Is that actually staying in space
on the space station
or is it coming back on Earth?
Yeah, so it's staying in Dragon.
It's staying there for 10 days
and it comes back on Earth.
So the collectors who are gonna
win that one-on-one,
they will be able to collect it.
Like the real physical one
that went to the space?
That is correct.
So for Dave's piece,
each of them are different.
So some of the artists
did not combine them.
Some of the artists did.
So Dave combined it.
If you buy the digital,
you get the physical.
Richard, he's doing a one of eight.
And so the winning bid,
the highest bid on the highest edition bid
will get the physical.
And then some of them
did not combine it.
So it depends on which one you get.
That's incredible, man.
Is this kind of like a first initiative
that combines also like
the digital version
of the physical pieces?
I don't know.
I'm always hesitant to say it's a first
because somebody will always
send me a tweet.
They'll be like,
actually, you're lying.
This is not a first.
So I'm like, I don't know.
I just know it's super cool.
And I'm just grateful
to be able to do it.
Yeah, it is.
It's super cool, man.
I would love to have
actually like these in my room
and knowing that it traveled
all the way around.
Oh, yeah.
Well, you got a couple opportunities right now.
It's also super cool, guys,
that you are in Florida right now.
And you're going to be part
of that launch live.
I've never seen
actually a rocket launch live.
So I think it has to be
incredibly experienced.
It's going to be loud.
It's going to be wild.
I wanted to ask like
about the connection
between the space travel art
and blockchain.
Like, what do you think about this?
Like, is that kind of like
a future that we are heading?
Because as Elon said, right,
like we should be
multi-planetary species.
So it's probably so much easier
to have a art on blockchain
if you want to check
what's happening on Earth
and what's happening on Mars.
Like, I know I'm talking about
100 years plus probably in the future.
Think about it, guys.
I think so.
I think it's definitely possible.
There are companies right now
trying to tokenize like payload space.
So for instance, like, you know,
if we have something going up
and somebody finds it valuable,
they can actually, you know,
if we tokenized it,
they could actually trade it
by access to payload space
on a mission and things like that.
You know, people are trying
to tokenize digital assets.
So, you know, people are definitely
looking into it.
There's a partner that we're working
with, Kaepernick Space.
They're trying to tokenize
digital space assets.
They believe it's going to be,
you know, a very big market.
They're trying to essentially
create a digital asset space exchange,
if you want to call it that.
So I do think there will be
a market for it.
You know, it really just depends
on how much value people
put on, you know, assets
that are going to the moon,
going to Mars, going to space,
you know, things like that.
You know, but for instance,
like, thank you, X's piece,
Urgent for Perfection,
when Sotheby's put it up for auction,
it went for double
what they estimated it would go for.
So I think they put it up at eight
and it went for whatever it was,
like, you know, 16 or 17.
So, you know, I do think people
find it valuable, which is great.
I think it's valuable.
So yeah, I think it also
like symbolizes like the freedom, right?
Like pushing the boundaries,
like exploring the unknown, right?
And really, really like going
into something like different
that we know that it's at least
like what what what fascinates me
when like thinking about the space.
And I think it's also great
for people outside of web three, right?
When they learn about that,
oh my God, like web three artists,
I know we we talk a lot about
like our artists is artists,
but I want to say web three
because you guys are in the space, right?
But it web three artists
actually have their art sent to space.
I think that's amazing promo
for for our space too, right?
And for for those artists,
because I'm not sure
if it's common sending art to space,
but I don't think so, right?
I know chess said that
his art is going to moon,
but this is really amazing.
Yeah, it usually was not common, right?
Like, I think we've done it now
to straight missions.
You know, we tried trial there with
thank you X.
We're now doing it pretty successfully
with space grills and all of these
awesome artists.
So I don't think it's common.
I'm glad it's getting more common.
The cool actually one of the cool things is
all of their art is actually going to be
featured in in the space broadcast.
So, you know, the launch broadcast
that is starting at 2 40 p.m.
At some point there's going to be
at least a 5 to 10 minute window
where they're actually talking about
the web three program and space
girls in specific and they're
going to be all of the artists
and their art will be featured in that.
So it's like really cool.
It's like you're part, you know,
you're featured in whatever the space
Super Bowl or, you know,
however you want to consider it.
I got a wild and grateful.
I just I the more I listen to this
and of course I'm super jazzed about
all the artists friends that are involved
from Richard Mombot.
I mean, Dave, I've met Dave several times.
He's led legends since clubhouse days.
I remember him and his work is dope.
I mean, Amber Victoria,
everybody that is there.
But like Mina, I just wanted to like
just say specifically to you,
I want to give you a, you know,
let you know how proud I am of you
to, you know, kind of have this brainchild
and you know, like I always say,
everybody here is contributing
in a positive way and you have
definitely been one of those people.
And I just wanted to like,
just give you a personal acknowledgement here
because I feel like the way you describe this,
you know, like with starting with Ryan,
that's where I met you
when you guys did the partnership with him.
And the way you approach this,
it's definitely the right way to go.
And I think that this is you've been a pioneer
in this space for, you know,
like just the way that you've conducted
this whole thing, like, you know,
and then just like the curation aspect part
that you said that you thought
that's the fullness that has gone behind that
and everything else.
I think this is just the beginning.
That's why I was so excited
when I heard about it last week.
And, you know, I just wanted to
just say how proud I am
of everyone involved and just, you know,
you're expanding our, you know,
circle here in an immense way.
And I'm super excited for all the artists
to get this chance to, you know,
shine and go to the space
and have the art there.
I mean, I can just wait for the launch
and I just want to say
how proud I am of everybody involved
and for you to actually
be the mastermind behind it.
Yeah, and look forward to future launches.
And yeah, just super,
just super proud moment here.
And again, I just wanted,
I don't know if anybody knows,
but, you know, Richard here,
two years ago,
he had his first show at the LA Art Show
that I had the chance to curate for.
And since then, like his story
is so inspiring
and I'm so excited
that it's been shared here also.
And I was hoping that we get to,
maybe in another space,
to get to hear the stories
behind each artist's work.
Because I know for me, at least,
and I think for everybody,
that's like the most intriguing part
of the artwork.
It's the story behind it.
So yeah, just really, truly feel
proud of this.
Because I think when one,
and you know, people,
when in our community,
we all are winners.
And that's why I wanted to spotlight
everybody.
And again, thank you, grateful,
to making this happen.
I know you had other guests
for this episode,
but you kindly, like, you know,
rescheduled them.
And just, that's one of the,
you know, reasons also,
I feel very, very connected
with you guys, grateful, and beast.
Because you're always there
to empower good players.
And these guys are all
definitely good ambassadors
for this space.
So yeah, much love.
Good job, brother.
Really proud of you.
Yeah, I just want to shout you out.
Well, first, thanks so much
for the super kind words.
It's honestly a dream to work
on this project.
If you told me a year ago,
like, I'd be working
with these artists who I've,
you know, been watching,
you know, from afar
and collecting for,
since I got into this space,
so honestly, this, obviously,
I could have all the ideas
and thoughts I want,
but, you know, without buying,
without people getting excited,
and without Nifty Gateway
and Transient Labs
and all the artists,
it would obviously
not be possible.
So, you know, I'm just grateful
to all the artists
and, you know, the partners
that, you know, worked with us
on this to make this a reality.
And I just want to say,
shout out to you.
You know, Paimon reached out to me.
He's like, I love this collection.
I want to support it.
You guys need, more people
need to hear about it.
And I was like, okay, guys,
I've been reached out to
by so many marketers
and, you know, people that want
to sell you something.
And this, I'm like, okay,
well, it's probably just one of those.
And it's like,
and then I asked about Paimon too.
I asked a couple people like,
no, this dude is genuine.
Like, he just wants to help.
He wants to bring more,
he wants to shed more light
on really cool things
and uplift the space
and push the space forward.
And I just, you know,
appreciate your vibe
and that's your reputation
in the space.
So, you know, big shout out to you
and really appreciate
you being an advocate
for not just this collection,
but the entire space.
And thanks for,
thanks for having us on this show.
I think we got to go
in like three minutes
because they're going to force me
to get on this bus
because we got to go to launch.
But, you know,
I just wanted to make sure
to say that.
That's how we started, you know,
we started with artists here.
I know I did a podcast
with Richard like 20 years ago.
It feels like, you know,
a long time in web three.
So, yeah, but tell us the feelings
before the launch.
How you feeling?
How excited you are, you know,
if you have three minutes
before you get into the bus.
I want to hear that, guys.
Yeah, hell yeah.
Well, Richard, how you feel?
I'm so excited, dude.
I don't think it feels real yet
until like the thing
actually starts lifting off.
It probably won't even feel real yet
until we get the photo
of like it floating.
But like, I don't know,
I've like been dreaming about.
I swear I had a dream
about it last night, so.
Yeah, I'm excited.
You know, make sure
that you keep an eye on Richard
and don't let him sneak
onto the space station.
This dude wants to go to space.
Honestly, I'm going to try
to keep him as far away
as possible because he might
grab on to like one of the things
and just go up with it.
But yeah, we're super pumped
and like the entire team
at Axiom Space.
We're about 850 people
or something like that.
Everybody's super pumped.
The artists, we had six
out of the eight artists
actually come down to Florida
here with us.
And they're actually
probably on the bus already,
a bunch of them.
So, you know, we're just,
it is a one of a kind experience.
So if you can go to a launch.
Actually, we have one of our
web three holders here with us.
And, you know, he's listening
to space actually.
And we have Andrew who's also
went through some of the,
you know, NFTs that we put out,
especially the earlier ones,
came with the utility
of going to launch
because it's such
a special experience.
It's just something that we feel
like a lot of people
should participate in.
We'll do more NFTs in the future
that have that utility.
So more and more people can,
you know, experience
what a lot of these artists
and these holders will experience.
So we're super pumped
and the energy is high right now.
I love to hear that.
Go get on the bus, brother.
Make sure that you're there in time
and give my best
to all the friends, artists.
I know that Mambad and Dave
are in here.
And just like everyone else,
just sending you much love
and thanks for making time
to, you know, come in here
for the limited time
that you have this morning.
Good luck with Richard.
Keep a close eye on that guy.
He will, don't worry.
Grateful and beast.
Really, you know, big thank you
to, you know, hosting us
on your platform.
Really, really appreciate being here.
Thank you guys for joining.
I can't wait to watch it.
I'm on the Exium space site.
It says 114 minutes
for the live stream.
So I can't wait.
I'll be watching it live
and enjoy it guys.
It's a lifetime opportunity, I think.
Yeah, hell yeah.
Hopefully maybe one day
we get we get you out here.
Let's let's let's all try to
I would love for as many web
three people to experience
the launch as possible.
So the more successful
this program becomes,
the more I can I can fight
for more people to get out here.
So, you know, hopefully
get more people up.
Amazing man.
Absolute pleasure.
Thanks for joining us today.
And yes, let's fucking do it.
Now get the bus.
Enjoy the enjoy the launch
and everything.
And I can wait to see you somewhere,
you know, probably in Florida.
Hopefully soon.
Appreciate you.
Alright, much love.
Much love.
Thank you guys.
What an exciting day today.
Can't wait to watch it.
I hope everything goes well.
Also, thank you Richard
for joining us.
I know you're going to be
in the same bus.
And if you check the
Exium space site,
it's so professional.
It's insane.
I never seen sites like this
for space travel.
And the photographs of astronauts,
they are really, really crazy.
Peyman, do you know if astronauts
know about Web 3
and about what they are
bringing up there?
Oh, I mean, I don't know
about all of them,
but I think so.
I mean, like Dr.
Sayan Proctor is, you know,
artist herself and an astronaut.
I think actually I would love.
I see that Andrew is in here.
I think that it would be awesome
if you can pull him up.
He's I believe he's an astronaut
and an artist, but I'm not sure.
But it would be awesome
if you can pull him up
and sort of hear him
and his experience with this project.
Yeah, I invited him on stage.
So let's see.
Oh, he's here.
So Andrew, welcome here.
Super stoked to have you on stage.
How are you doing today?
Doing great.
How's everybody else doing?
We are hyped.
We are hyped.
Are you also in Florida right now?
I just walked into the Kennedy
Space Center Visitor Center
with my backpack and my folding chair
getting ready to get in line
and get on the bus
and head out to the viewing area
out by the Saturn 5 rocket.
It's a very exciting day.
I've been watching launches since the.
Oh God, 86.
I think was the first time
I came out here in my 13 years at NASA.
I saw more launches that I can
I can remember, but a crude launch
is always the most exciting thing.
It's also the most emotional thing
when you realize there are people
on board there and they're essentially
extending humanity out into the cosmos.
So it's sorry.
I'm catching my breath here.
I'm trying to walk and talk
at the same time.
Take your time, Andrew.
Thank you for jumping up
and just like sharing.
This is just like freaking amazing
to have like it's like having
a live reporter live person right there.
And I feel like I'm right there with you.
So take your time and yeah,
make sure you catch the bus.
We don't want you to miss them.
Oh yeah, I was just fucking awesome.
Yeah, but the bus actually
doesn't leave till two from here,
but you got to get in line early
so you don't end up in the last group.
It's actually very well.
Very well organized here.
Yeah, it's amazing what the web three
in the art world have come together.
My mother was a multifaceted artist.
She was a writer, a poet,
a painter, a sculptor.
And so I have a great appreciation
for the arts, even though
I'm a television engineer by trade.
I really do appreciate the art world
and seeing folks like this,
including Leo Sion Proctor,
getting her art to fly in space
is a real thrill.
I think my mom would really,
really get a kick out of it.
Incredible to hear.
Super stoked that you dare also
and that you're going to experience
that amazing moment.
In your bio, there's a future astronaut.
So when it's going to happen
for you Andrew?
Well, that's a good question.
It's always taking every opportunity
to try to find a way to space.
It's something I've wanted to do
since I was a child.
For NASA for 13 years,
doing shuttle landings
and at Edwards Air Force Base
for three years
and I was in Houston doing
just about everything you do
with the shuttle program
and supporting astronauts and flights.
I got to fly zero G.
I got to scuba dive.
I got to travel quite a bit
for the documentation
of the International Space Station.
So I really got the bug.
Unfortunately, the government contracts
and so forth, the money ran out in 2000.
So I had to go get a real job.
But now I'm trying to make my way back
into it and of course,
trying to become a commercial astronaut
is a reality now.
I mean, Dr. Proctor and all the folks
from Inspiration4 proved that
and now with the New Shepard
and Georgia Galactic,
we've got people flying in space
and fulfilling that dream.
So I'm just taking, like I said,
taking every opportunity
to find a way to get to space.
Like Moon Dao has their,
just finished their entrance
into their sweepstakes
for the Blue Origin flight
and they're going to make
a live announcement on the 25th.
So I'm on pins and needles
into that time.
Do you know why they
actually rescheduled the flight?
Was that like weather
or were there some stuff
with the Falcon?
Back in the NASA days,
they would eventually
there'd be a press conference
and they would explain
what the problem is.
But now, because of commercial space
and also a lot of government legalities,
they don't have to talk
about the technical issues
and SpaceX just has
a nice generic line
about giving their teams
more time to work situations
and so forth.
I heard a rumor
but I don't want to,
I don't want to,
I don't want to repeat it
where the people can hear it
but eventually,
you will hear about it.
But I don't believe it was weather.
Weather was absolutely gorgeous yesterday.
It was 90% go.
Today, it's 80% go
but the overcast is keeping
the temperature down,
keeping the UV down.
So it'll be a comfortable,
a rare comfortable launch
here in Florida
because every time I've come here,
it's been sweating
no matter what time of year it is.
I heard that rumor too Andrew
and I don't believe it was true
that Richard actually snuck
into the station.
Oh, is that it?
Well, that was the rumor I heard.
I don't know.
I also read something
like 15-year-old artist
like got somehow
into the spaceship.
You know, what's interesting
is there's very tight security
around the launch pads
here at NASA
at the Kennedy Space Center.
But a technicality
that we actually,
a bunch of friends of mine
I did back
on the Inspiration4 mission,
you can actually go out to sea
and sneak up on the rocket
and get within about
a half a mile of it.
So that's what we did the day
before the Inspiration4 launch.
We all got chartered a boat
and went up and set
about a half mile off the coast
and took pictures.
It was amazing.
And I still to this day
cannot believe that that's legal,
but it was.
So if you ever decide
you want to get a closer look,
there's a series of boats
down at Port Canaveral
that you can rent
and run out there.
It's definitely on my bucket list
to go to see the launch
of the rocket.
So hopefully soon
because it has to be
incredibly experienced.
Oh, yeah.
And don't forget
that you can also see launches
down in South Florida.
Excuse me, South Texas
down in the rear run valley
at Starbase for SpaceX.
The Starship there's looking
like there's going to be a third
the third launch attempt
test flight in February.
And that is even more amazing
because the rocket
is just so powerful.
I was fortunate enough
to see shuttle launches,
which were pretty amazing.
And then I got to see
the SLS launch
a couple of years ago
and that was 25% more amazing.
But the Starship super heavy
combination is more
than twice as powerful.
So it's incredibly loud words.
Words fail me
when I describe to describe that.
It's incredible.
You have to experience yourself.
It's so the launch
that the noise
and the thrust is so powerful.
Five miles away,
you can feel the pressure
on your chest
can feel your clothes vibrating.
It's that powerful.
Wow, that's crazy.
That's crazy.
And it's we talking about SpaceX,
you know, founder or you know,
probably to measure
the owner is Elon, right?
Does he know about that?
Web3art is going there
because he just removed
the hexagon, right?
Like we can verify our NFT.
So what's going on there?
I'm not sure.
Elon's got so many irons in the fire.
It's hard to keep track
of everything he's got going on.
But I'm super happy
that Axiom has chosen
to get into the Web3
and help support that part
because I see a future.
You know, the line I like to use
is, you know, 100 years from now
when you pull your space freighter
up to the fueling station
around in orbit around Mars,
they're not going to take cash
and they're not going to take
your credit cards.
So things like blockchain
and crypto are going to be
necessary for us.
And that's just the way of the future.
That's a great point, actually.
Loved it. Never thought about it.
That's amazing.
Yeah, I believe that Axiom,
what Axiom is doing.
By the way, Andrew,
very political answer about Elon.
Like, you know, that was very nice.
I definitely noticed that for,
you don't want to like set yourself
up for future interviews
and have a recorded podcast.
Good job, Andrew.
Oh, you guys, you guys inspire me.
No, I appreciate you.
And actually, Andrew, I want to like,
I believe everybody is a creative.
I think that you as an engineer
are creative.
I also love that you shared with us
about your mom, by the way,
and how like she was an artist
and creator and poet.
So I want to like sort of,
I don't know, encourage you
to perhaps look into minting
some of her work
and put her, you know, art
and legacy on the blockchain.
Oh, that'd be that, you know,
I hadn't thought about that.
She passed away last July,
and my brothers and I
are still going through her work.
She was a writer toward the end
and she had a couple of unpublished
books that we're working on.
They're pretty, they're like 99% done.
Unfortunately, she had Dementia,
which played havoc with her memory.
So at the end there,
where she was making revisions
of revisions or revisions kind of thing.
So we think we can get those done.
And she has some earlier works
that we all have hanging on our,
in our respective homes
that we'd love to see you
share with the world,
except for a couple
of really embarrassing pictures.
She painted of us
when we were little babies
and stuff.
That would be great.
And those even would be like,
maybe down the line you,
after you meant her stuff,
maybe down the line,
you would do those as one-on-one.
And yeah, man, I mean,
I really am grateful
that you made time to come up.
It's pleasure to meet you.
I think that, you know,
everything you're doing is great
and keep, you know,
being persistent
and keep showing up.
And I think your time is coming.
I appreciate that.
I'm definitely never giving up.
I've, I'm kind of in the,
you know, past 60 now,
I figure I got 10, 15 years
of a viable time left.
So I got to go for it.
Love it, Andrew.
Thank you so much for joining
and enjoy the launch.
I'll be watching it here live.
So I hope you will
have amazing experience.
And I also see Chas requesting
and guys, we still have 30 minutes.
So I would like to chat
about all the BUIC news
and announcements.
So if you want to join us
on stage as request,
I see Showbase,
Love the Saw, Vicky,
if you want to join us
and talk about it,
just request and I get you here.
Andrew, do you have anything else
that you would like to share
Yeah, real quick.
I just want to give a shout out
He and I flew on a zero G flight
back in late 2022
with Space Plus
and the Space Plus 5
and some other artists
and had a grand old time
making art in zero G.
It was actually the most fun
I've had in doing zero G ever.
Man, another thing
on my bucket list.
So hopefully I got to do it.
I have a few friends
that they did it actually.
They were super hyped after that.
So can't wait.
Yeah, if you want to reach out to me,
I can get you get your deal.
Thank you so much, man.
All right, thank you.
Have a good one and enjoy.
It's going to be epic.
Thank you guys.
Take care.
For Andrew before you take off,
I just want to tell you,
look into the company called
Propone here called VA Vortex.
That is reposted underneath my pen
tweet their tweet about there.
They're also sending art
to the moon to do like
AI art through them through them.
Oh, cool.
Yeah, so be able to take a look at it.
So yeah, they're really
they're really cool collective.
So thanks.
Hey, grateful beast.
How's it going?
I wanted to shout out to Andrew
for a quick second
before he bounces.
Hey, I'm retired Air Force,
but I still have access
to go on like the Air Force bases.
When are you going to be in Florida next?
That's a good question.
I have to look at my work schedule.
It may be sometime in February.
It's one of those things.
I don't know until I go.
Got you, man.
I have access to the bases.
So man, I would love to connect with you.
You know, a real life astronaut in the space.
How cool would that be?
Well, drop me DM me and let me know.
Yeah, definitely.
Let me know when you're there.
I could drive down, meet up with you,
meet you on base.
Damn showbiz.
You always bring some alpha.
Absolutely love it.
So Andrew, thank you so much for joining us.
It was absolutely amazing.
Really have a great day.
Enjoy the launch.
And again, thank you so much.
Have fun.
And guys, yeah, go ahead, man.
Yeah, I was gonna say thank you once again.
Everybody else, watch the broadcast.
And if you're actually, if anybody's out here,
I encourage you not to use your cameras
when you're watching a launch.
From now today or any future time,
use your eyes because there's a million cameras
already taking 4K images of it.
Just use your eyes to get experience for yourself.
It's very special.
Enjoy it today, man.
It's gonna be fucking epic.
And yeah, thank you for joining us today
and sharing all the details and all the vibes.
I really feel like being there with you now.
I gotta say same thing, man.
This has been an epic spaces.
And like, I don't know, I just feel like a child.
You know, I just feel like I'm right there
with these people, my friends, our new friends.
You know, Andrew, I remember now that I actually,
like, I think Gabe had this flight
that he's talking about that he got in there with,
with CL7.
And it's so good to see CL7 is an old OG friend
and, you know, big supporter of the arts.
So like, yeah, I just wanted to give him a shout out.
And then, you know, I just want to say,
like, we are all like trees growing individually here,
but underneath we have these roots that are growing
also and expanding and it's connecting us together.
And what a fucking, and excuse my French,
but I feel super emotional about being in this,
you know, sharing this movement with all of you.
And again, grateful and beast.
Thank you for having this platform.
And again, like the same thing that Mina said,
the vision, I share your vision
of having a democratic platform for all welcome.
You know, whether we agree with them or not,
we can sit there and like, you know, debate
in a very peaceful manner.
And at the same time, what a pleasure
to be able to find like-minded people
and help them and elevate them and grow together, right?
I mean, I just feel so blessed tonight, today.
And it's just like, I feel like I'm right there
and I can't wait actually with you guys
to have a trip to, you know, to the space station.
One day, this 2024, if you're doing it, baby,
you're gonna go and experience this.
I'm manifesting it, man.
Thanks again for letting this, you know,
making this happen, grateful and beast.
And everyone that is here just really appreciate
being able to celebrate this awesome project together, man.
I just feel super blessed.
Much love, guys.
Same here, same here.
Thank you so much, everyone, for joining and listening.
We gotta be switching gears towards
the BYC announcement because yesterday was crazy.
We got, was it yesterday or today?
I don't even know.
But it was wild.
So many tweets, so many news.
And I'm feeling really, really good.
So I want to say hi to Vicky.
Vicky, how are you doing today?
What's good?
Are you still freezing in Florida?
It's so cold.
It's so cold.
I mean, the benefit is that for the first time
in like three years, I've got to wear nearly
every BYC hoodie I own.
Because previously, they just are in my wardrobe
and they just, obviously, they never get used.
It's just too frigging hot.
But the last kind of six weeks, I think I've had them
all on rotation, apart from the pink one,
because I'm too scared to put it in the washer dryer
because like, oh my God, something happened to that.
I might just frame it.
Yeah, I'm super excited.
That was just a great space.
I actually took part in a competition.
I've got to wait to hear two weeks
to find out whether my arm will go up into space.
And I didn't know until yesterday
about the axiom thing.
So for me, it was quite interesting.
I was on a space yesterday with a lady
called Lady Rocket, absolutely superb.
So the initiatives for space and art
just blew my mind.
It's like I got nominated by my friend, Sarah.
So and it's kind of weird
because living in Florida with all these kind
of space launches, I remember watching one
in particular where they had obviously
what we would class as the normies inside the rocket.
And I kind of like put myself as like,
how would I feel inside there looking back
at the earth just makes you realize
it's like how small we are and what we've got
around us kind of that we take for granted
in the sense of the Amazon rainforest,
the pyramids, the mountains, the snow.
We live in such a microcosm of environment
that when you start to go, it's like,
if we don't look after this one fucking world
that we've got, our children's children
are never ever going to see polar bears.
They're never going to be able
to probably go skiing.
There's all sorts of things
that once my brain starts going,
I have to tell it to like slow down
because I just think about it so much.
But awesome space show.
Thank you so much.
I was so excited about this topic
because it's something completely different
that we usually talk, right?
Like we talk with artists here,
but we never talk about a flying to space
and bringing web three into the space station.
So that's absolutely crazy.
We're talking about it like it's nothing, right?
Like I got so used to that.
Oh, we flying to space.
It's normal, but it's absolutely wild.
And I'm super proud of the artist
and everyone who made it
and whose art is going there
because it has to be like incredible,
incredible, incredible feeling.
You know, so it's awesome
that it's happening in this space
and so much has happened
since since we joined Ride Beast.
Man, it fascinates me
how many areas we explore
just through NFTs and web three,
because since it's starting to touch
like every aspect, you can,
we can literally have now
like a show about like a SpaceX launch.
If you tell me two years ago
or three years ago, I would be like,
man, are you fucking crazy?
So really grateful for this, man.
Yeah. And I think, you know,
we talking about utility showbiz,
you are a part of the club
and you were like,
hey, I can get you to the air base.
Hey, I'm here, man.
I'm here. Let's go.
Let's go there.
Bro, I can usually
get visitors on with me as well, too.
So if I know of a launch
and if we can meet up with,
you know, our astronaut friends,
man, you know, I can get a couple of people
on to go hang out, you know.
Showbiz, just remember.
If Vicky ever wants to go.
Oh, definitely.
If Vicky ever wants to go.
Pink hair, definitely.
But obviously, you know,
in the terms and conditions,
what it says, obviously,
they won't allow
aquamarine backgrounds on.
So just remember that.
Don't take anyone with that background.
I think I'm not commenting
on this orange background thing.
I think I already said too much about that.
Yeah, man, Andrew.
I hit up Andrew and he actually
responded back to me in the end.
So he'll let me know
when he's going to be out there.
Hopefully, when he's out there,
it's an actual launch as well.
Or even if we just go meet up with him,
you know, it's just connecting in the space, you know.
Man, you're the real example
of like what this club like let you,
what opportunities it gives you.
And it was the idea
since the very beginning, right?
It's like we have this club,
this like social group
or whatever we are,
where everyone has different backgrounds.
Everyone has different experiences
and we can all like bring it all
and meet during all these AFES and events.
And it's happening, man.
Like and your story is incredible.
You've joined like so many events
and I think you're the best example
actually how to explain
what's the value of being
actually part of this club, man.
That's why I joined.
I knew about board API club.
I found out in January of 2022
when my buddy was like hitting me up
that he's actually active duty still.
He's like, yo, I'm about to buy a Macy.
And I was like, how much? 13.5 ETH.
I'm like, dude, that's like 30 grand.
I'm like, I can't put that much money in there.
I'm retired, you know.
I'm living on my pension
and my disability from in the military.
But he's active duty
and he's an officer actually in the Navy.
So he's making the big bucks.
But I was like, you know, I was like, dude,
but it was the best thing he's ever done.
Like if I tell you his story,
like it was amazing.
Like, hey, he came up.
Just put it that way.
You know, he made out good.
But yeah, it's like the board API club
has blessed a lot of people.
And since then, I wanted to join, you know.
But once I started seeing all the cool things
that's being built, especially the Made by AIDS brand,
and just being able to connect with people,
IRL, go to these events,
I saw that more as a value over me
wanting to buy it and sell it at a profit.
I see that as more of what I need in my life,
because being retired,
I'd rather go to events
and hang out with cool people and meet in the space.
So that was the value for me.
And I got in at a lower price than a lot of people,
you know, 5.5 each versus, you know,
where most people would pay like 10, 15, 20, 30 each, you know.
So for me, that's great value.
And I'm getting to enjoy the experiences, you know, so...
Showbiz, I love that you mentioned that
you didn't want to flip you.
You are just here for the club aspect, right?
To meet and hang out with people made by AIDS.
How do you feel about the announcements yesterday?
Which one? There's so many.
Oh, are you talking about the clubhouse?
Everything, whatever you call it, your eye,
whatever you like, dislike.
Oh, man, just everything.
The main focus is community.
I love it, man.
I'm ready for that.
I'm ready for the clubhouse.
You'll see me there all the time.
You know, I'm only six hours away from Miami driving, right?
So when there's an event going on, I'll be there, you know.
I just need to know there's an event going on
and I'll drive down.
Hell, I'll bring my kids too, you know.
Yeah, I listened to Captain with Jeff today
and Jeff mentioned that there's going to be IRL.
He just doesn't want to say more details
about when and how and where and you know what and etc.
But he said that it's going to happen.
So I'm really hyped and I'm probably not going to be there every day
because it's kind of a travel for me.
But even having that club and knowing that other apes can join
and other people maybe can join the club, you know, go there.
I don't know if it's going to be like networking plays
or if it's going to be like club for, you know, partying, drinking, hanging out.
I don't know.
But I think that's such an amazing aspect, you know,
bringing BAYC on another level.
So I'm really hyped about that.
Definitely.
I think it's just going to be more.
It's not going to be just about partying.
It's going to be a combination of everything
because imagine if everyone could put their made by a brand in the clubhouse.
As people come to visit the clubhouse
and maybe have parties like rent out the space,
you know, they can buy some of the brands.
They can buy chocolates.
They can buy, you know, wine.
They can buy alcohol.
They can buy whatever, you know, they see that they like, you know,
some board shorts, some T-shirts, you know, all these things,
you know, you guys can board age.
You're going to have to going to be able to put like merch in there,
like not the merch that we would get.
Of course, you know, we ours got to be special.
You know, exclusivity, you know, but yeah,
they can have some cool merch for people to go buy, you know,
that says board age, job club, Florida and nice.
But yeah, I'm excited.
There's so many things.
I mean, Yuga has the money to do it, you know, so why not do it?
And that community vibe is what we need.
I mean, it's going to attract more people.
It definitely going to attract people.
And I feel it the same way showbiz that it can be way more
than just a place to go for like cool parties.
And we could see it doing this last A-Fest, right?
And when you think about what people enjoyed,
it was like some of the people, they really enjoyed the music.
But there was also a big group of people who enjoyed this club part
where you just could go and you could chat with other apes
about like what everyone is doing.
And there was also a big group of apes who enjoyed the bodega
where they could see the products and they could, again,
talk business and talk, you know, like help each other
from the business side.
So I think that's how I imagine actually the club,
like it can combine all these things.
Yeah, 100% man.
Almost definitely.
Yeah. And they listened, right?
Like the A-Fest this year was completely different experience.
You could chat, you could lose your side.
No, it was fine.
But it was amazing.
I loved it.
I love the stage there that you could listen to live performance.
You could chat in the club.
You could play games.
Absolutely love it.
Vicky, go ahead.
I think I'm most excited to get back to the basics
is not forgetting the people.
And there's lots of things that they've done
that people adore.
Again, when I say adore, there's lots of gamers.
So it's for them.
It's lots of people who love music.
But ultimately, it's the people that make the club.
So you have a fine balance between alienating people,
making people feel like I've had kind of doubts
over the last couple of weeks,
where various things have happened to me as an individual
that like, is this the right club for me?
Because if it's targeted at gamers,
or if it's targeted at people that like rap music,
or if it's targeted at a certain specific,
you then start to take the people out.
You gradually narrow down your audience
of who's going to talk about the club
when the founders are not there,
because you're like, well, you know,
it's great if you're a bro, you know,
and that's how I kind of feel sometimes
is like I need them to get back to more community
for everybody.
And I'm not saying it should be, I don't know,
I'm not saying it should just be rap music or gaming.
I want us to be a family.
With a family, you have to have give and take
and that's what it might be.
You start to feel like, well, actually,
maybe I'd be better off.
And for me, it's unfortunate that it's not about the money,
but maybe I'm better off just setting the token
to give it to somebody else,
because if I'm not included,
so that's why it's always tough for that balance.
So, you know, I really hope that we come more together
as a community so that there's a few of us
that don't just feel like, well, actually, you know,
maybe my time would be better spent somewhere else
where I feel like, you know, I'm needed or wanted to be.
And that's kind of a weird, you know, because it is,
and I think, and the trouble is,
this is why it's a double-edged sword.
It's like, there's so many guys that I love in the club,
but there's also a lot of guys that just are bros
and really railroad a lot of the people
because I try and help those people that don't have a voice.
Then it puts me in a box of being very outspoken.
I know this is gonna sound weird to everybody.
I'd rather just be a part of the club and get on with stuff,
but it worries me that when people don't get heard,
that some of us have to speak up and try to kind of say,
well, look, you know, let's fix this,
or let's help that without fudding.
And then we get kind of labeled as a troublemaker.
I don't wanna be like that.
I want it to work and I want everybody to win in web three.
That's what it's about.
But, you know, it's looking forward to seeing
how it all evolves and I have a little bit of hope
that, you know, there's a place for all of us
as opposed to just some of us.
I think that the point with the family is 100% right, right?
Because we started with one bathroom,
a few pixels on the wall and just us, right?
Like it was us.
We were crazy on the timeline,
switching our PFPs for apes, having fun,
putting apes on the t-shirts and cans of beer
or whatever, right?
So it started like that and I joined the club
because of that.
I absolutely love the madness on the timeline.
So that's why I bought my apes.
And I think that's a core that we need to keep.
And of course gaming, that's probably, you know,
very hype thing to get some revenue stream,
to onboard some other people.
But I'm not sure if apes are gamers.
I don't want to talk for other people.
If the majority of apes are gamers,
I'm not sure about it to be honest,
because I talk or even if you look at demographics
on ape fest, right?
Like I'm not sure,
but for the future to attract other people,
maybe not to the BAYC club,
family of people in the club.
I think it's not bad,
but I love the club aspect.
So if you have IRL place,
if you have digital place where we can hang out,
then we can chat like we do here, right?
Like we are from all over the world,
having fun, enjoying the vibes,
you know, learning some new stuff,
talking to exciting people.
I think that's why I absolutely love that.
You know, and honestly,
I met all of you just because of BAYC probably for me.
So I wouldn't be here otherwise.
So that's absolutely amazing utility for me.
And I love the club aspect.
So yeah, I think 2024 could be great year.
They mentioned that there's going to be more IRL
than just ape fest.
So I'm really curious what's going to happen.
And, you know, IRL is always the best.
So hopefully there's going to be something in Europe
so we can experience it here.
And yeah.
Just about to add.
Oh, sorry.
I just want to quickly add,
it wouldn't it be good if we're all assuming
that the real life club when it opens
is going to be Miami.
And you know, like they say,
look at the left hand, what the right hand is doing.
We're all assuming because the roadmap
it's going to be Miami real life Clubhouse.
And then they go, okay, Clubhouse is open
and there is a fucking list like London, Czech, Spain,
like Asia, like every possible,
like the 10 top cities where they know
that there is obviously members
and they all open like on the same day
and everybody would be like, what the fuck?
What just happened?
So you can literally go to like dry to your capital
or whatever and spend the day in the yacht club.
And there will be 10 to 12 yacht clubs around the world.
And I mean, if that doesn't happen this year,
then I would say within five years
that will be my prediction.
Yeah, I think that's amazing.
They also added the communities on the new website.
We have here like local Czech and Slovak board yacht club
and spicy tweeted that if you are not there on site,
just comment below and I will etch you there
if you have a club.
So we got to be there too.
And that's a utility like I experienced it in Hong Kong.
The elite apes, they did such a great job
to help us there, you know, it's Asia,
it's different than here in Europe.
So they helped us with everything.
Everything was smooth.
They did such a great job organizing that.
So, you know, these communities are amazing
and having place, you flying to Paris,
you can go somewhere to meet, you know, French apes,
you flying to UK, you can meet UK apes.
That's absolutely amazing.
So yeah, great idea, Vicky.
Do you want to add anything to this like IRL club
or I handed to showbiz?
I handed showbiz, I'm going to listen in
and I'm going to drop down
cause I've got to get to the normal job, sadly.
Have a great day, Vicky.
And thank you so much for joining us in support.
Have a great day, Vicky.
What I was going to say is
it was kind of stemming off of what Vicky said,
like imagine, you know, we have a family day,
you know, where you can bring your family.
There's cool bunksie houses with apes on them,
ape themed, like, you know, things that the kids can do,
you know, like a go ape.
I went to the go ape in London.
You know, my daughter was in Girl Scouts
and there's a go ape there.
If Google it, you'll see in Tedford forest.
And, you know, it's pretty cool.
It's amazing.
Like, you know, it's fun for the kids.
They enjoyed it.
So there's a lot of cool things that you can build
and just have family.
Like every summer you have like a family event
for like, you bring your family, you know?
Man, during NFT NYC 22, there was a cool topia
by cool cats.
It was magical place.
Everyone who was there was so pumped
and people loved that.
Kids loved that.
So having something like that would also help a lot.
But I know they have a lot of stuff on their plate, right?
You can build all the stuff at the same time.
But yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Utopia man, 2022 NYC.
I think that was something that maybe,
Biz, what do you think?
Do you think we're gonna experience it anytime soon?
Because it was so crazy.
I hope so, man.
It was really good.
Everyone was excited about.
Like the team was also excited about it.
They did great job and like everything worked well.
And I think for all like PFP projects, actually,
like since you have these digital characters,
you want to bring them life also in a physical experience
because it's exactly what you just described, man.
Like people are smiling.
People are super happy.
They were interacting with the IP.
So I think we're gonna keep seeing that.
And I hope so because this in real life events,
like it's always amazing.
Like look at what the Macy's Day Parade, right?
Cool cats.
I mean, first NFT project in that's a huge leap for NFTs,
you know, and the characters,
the kids are able to see it, interact with them.
You know, that's amazing.
And that's what you gotta do.
You gotta bring in the younger generation
and everything that we're doing.
I mean, look at Pudgy Penguins.
They're killing it.
And it's kids focused, you know?
Because if it, us as adults,
if we don't bring in our kids,
you know, why are they gonna wanna come in?
There needs to be some things like coming out
that kids gonna love
because that's how you're gonna bring them in.
You know, keep the club going.
That's what I think about gaming, right?
Like for the younger people,
the gaming can be really think how to onboard them.
And, you know, I'm not a 100% gamer.
Like I love the games.
I play Dookie Dash.
I played Heavy Metal.
I'm playing Battle Plan.
I'm playing picks.
I'm playing everything that's possible
that's out there, Nifty Island.
Because I wanna try it, experience it.
I kinda enjoy that.
But, you know, the younger generation,
like they are like 15, 16 years old now, you know?
In five years when if everything goes well,
Yuga and Web3 will be so much bigger.
This is gonna be a huge opportunity to onboard them.
And Captain, or Steve actually had a great point today
that it takes so much time to build a brand, you know?
Like Uber, he mentioned that it took them
like five years to get even noticed, right?
So you guys also start up, they started 2021.
So it needs time.
It needs time.
Oh, guess what?
So I didn't get to listen to the first 30 minutes
because I was at physical therapy.
But the Orkin guy came to my house
before I went to physical therapy.
And I was talking with this guy
and then I brought up, you know, crypto and NFTs.
And this dude knew about board API club.
I was like really dude,
like I was talking about going to Hong Kong and everything.
And, you know, we're talking about crypto
and just, you know, next time he comes,
we're definitely gonna talk more about NFTs and crypto,
you know, so like he's made money like trading.
So he's all about it.
So I'm gonna try to onboard him.
And showbiz, you know, the best way how to onboard people,
right, to bring them on IRL event
and they got to see it, they got to experience it.
And like we onboarded Tino like that.
Tino onboarded his business partner, right?
Like that he brought him to Hong Kong,
now he has a mutant.
So it's one by one and we grow like that together.
So yeah, it's an epic journey.
I absolutely love that.
Enjoy that.
I also love the announcements
that we got to get back to club.
We also have a Dukey- mobile game for everyone.
So everyone will be able to play it and experience it
and see the Curtis or whoever will be in the swamp
or sewer, not swamp in the sewer, even better.
So yeah, now chess, I see your hand.
I just want to say, I just want to hand it to payment
because I saw his hand before and then chess.
Oh, thanks, grateful.
Yeah, I got to jump off in a second,
but I just wanted to say,
I hope that I love every time Vicky speaks
and I hope that she continues to speak
and I totally agree with her.
We need more diversity in the space
and without you Vicky and others
that are advocates for that, we won't achieve that.
So I hope you stay.
Regardless, I'm going to always support you
and make sure that your voice is getting heard.
And then also I wanted to say showbiz,
every time I hear your story
and then your enthusiasm about the space
and just supporting and just participating,
your participation is so inspiring to me.
I feel like we need more new energy like you
that to come into the space.
Again, I feel like our bubble is kind of small
and we need to expand it and expand our circle.
And so I really welcome your enthusiasm
and wanna encourage you to continue to that
because I think it's just like positive energy
that you just kind of feel empowered by
and you feel fueled by.
So keep doing it brother.
And yeah, man, every time I come into the space,
that's why I wanna work more with you guys.
The vibes is awesome.
And it just feels like you're sitting around
a campfire with family and friends
and just coming up and supporting one another,
coming up with solutions for daily challenges
that we all experience,
whether it's in our own lives or in the lives of others.
And what better to be able to support one another
and make sure that everybody is winning together
and feels supported.
So yeah, much love to you guys.
Look forward to Saturday spaces together
and keep doing it.
You wanna shill it?
You wanna shill it, Bayman?
Let's do it.
Shill, let's go.
Like Lawrence and Vincent,
the two amazing collaborators
that are behind Graphite's method
are gonna be our guests on Saturday at nine,
at least for me, it's 9 a.m.
PSD, Pacific Standard Time,
which is good on Saturdays is perfect for me.
And then I think they're gonna do some live readings
of their collaboration.
Vincent is gonna talk about his process and Lawrence.
And it's a very intriguing collab.
And again, talk about bringing onboarding new
and more diverse audience into the web three spaces.
I think that's another one that I'm excited about.
Can I say, because we should have the space today,
but we rescheduled, can I say why we rescheduled?
Or is it secret?
Because they were shooting the...
It's no secret, okay.
Yeah, we were like, Vincent was like,
oh, sorry guys, I can't join on Thursday
because I'm shooting the Daredevil, right?
For Marvel or something like that.
I was like, okay, I understand that, that sounds good.
That's incredible, really.
It's funny, right?
Like where we get that, like we have to fit the time
so that it fits to SpaceX launch.
And we also have the fit at time
so that it works with Marvel to make it,
you know, good with their movie.
It's wild, man.
And we also guys, we've had so many incredible guests here.
Like we hosted also Scott Page from Pink Floyd here.
Like it's insane.
So can't wait.
It was incredible.
So I can't wait for it for...
Yeah, go ahead, go ahead, sorry.
No, you go...
No, I said, actually, like it's like, you're right,
Scott Page, like he's a freaking legend, right?
It's like, whenever you guys call me legend,
I feel like so uncomfortable.
I'm like the, you know, like Wayne's world
when they just say, we are not worthy, we are not worthy.
But like that guy is a definite legend.
And I've had the pleasure of meeting him
a couple of times in LA.
He's so humble, man.
I mean, it's unbelievable.
I think that that's the keys to get inspired
by other people and learn from them both.
Like if they do, we have a saying like,
who do you learn politeness from impolite people?
And you could turn that around, right?
You could also learn to be more polite
from polite people.
And humble people, and people that don't feel
like they're, they dropped, you know,
they're the only, whatever we have a saying,
like poop drop from an elephant's ass.
But like, I just love just empowering people
that are humble.
You guys are definitely humble.
And I feel like together we can just expand our reach.
And that's what my conversation with you
was grateful last weekend,
is how can we empower one another
and be there for one another
when maybe you can't be in Miami
or maybe I can't be there, right?
Or vice versa.
Maybe I can't be in, you know, NFT Paris
and you can't be there.
And why not?
Why not work together and help one another
and empower so that everybody wins.
And, you know, all those deserving, of course,
but yeah, I just really feel privileged
to be part of this movement.
I know Chas has his hand up and I wanna hear him
because he's a good old friend too.
And he's always doing good for this space
with his art and with supporting artists in this space.
So yeah, Chas, please go ahead.
I just wanted to let you guys know
that I got a DM from NFT Paris
that offers me a free ticket to the conference.
And if I can't make it over there to Paris,
they said I can transfer it over to another artist or friend
through whatever, through X or email or whatever.
So if somebody wants to go who's there already
from this group needs a ticket
and can't afford it or something
or want the one that I have,
because I submitted to do art there
to put some art there.
They said they didn't choose my art to be on display,
but I got a free ticket.
Or if I wanna pass it on to another artist,
I can do that.
And I automatically thought about this group.
I was like, I know there's people in here.
I'm going, Chas, I'm gonna go.
If you want the ticket, I'll give it to you, bro.
Yeah, thanks man.
I haven't purchased it.
I wasn't gonna purchase one anyway
because I think I don't wanna sound like that,
but like I feel like.
Bro, no, no, no, you don't wanna sound,
man, Payman was like, damn guys, sorry, I'm legend here.
I don't need to fucking take his phone for NFT Paris.
I'm getting in.
No, I wasn't like that at all.
I'm getting the PJ to get to Paris.
He's not gonna bring his passport.
He's gonna be like, oh, you know me anyway.
You don't need the passport, guys.
I don't need a passport.
I just go with my PFT, my logo of my name.
But no, I'm just kidding.
But no, what I was saying is like,
I believe most of these like NFT NYC
and these kind of things,
the events surrounding the main NFT event is where to be.
At least for me, I always just like really enjoy going to,
I don't have time to go to the actual conference
unless I'm speaking or displaying my work or curating,
but like usually I go make sure I go as many satellite events
of my different communities that I have friends in
and I'm part of, that's what I, yeah.
And actually lastly, I wanna say grateful,
you need to at least come to the,
if it's in Miami or anywhere,
you need to have a brunch at the club at least once a year.
And if we do well, then maybe twice a year.
Let's go.
I'm down for that because the brunch in Miami,
that was definitely one of the highlights
of my web three career, as we call that.
So it was amazing, it was great.
And as we always say, IRL is the best
and because of BAYC and all of you guys,
I was able to meet you and that's incredible, really.
I don't understand how it happened, but it's so awesome.
I just also wanna add guys,
I pinned the tweet, you can see the photo from the bus.
So guys, we'll have amazing day today
watching the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch today.
So yeah, I gotta watch it too.
Decide for that is, it's gonna be probably on YouTube
and SpaceX too, but it's on axiomspace.com.
You can watch the live stream there.
I think it's gonna start in like one hour
or something like that.
So yeah, it's gotta be exciting.
I also wanna add something to those announcements
that Vicky talk about it.
The club is also about us, right?
Like we are here, we create atmosphere.
You got also, they show us maybe some North Star,
but I really enjoy talking to you here guys every week,
having fun, discussing different topics.
We went from such a crazy topics even this year, right?
So we talking about traveling to space,
we talk about gaming, a lot about gaming actually,
about a APE going down, et cetera, et cetera.
So many different topics, great vibes, I really enjoyed it.
So thank you so much guys for joining.
Have a great Thursday, enjoy your day.
Other space FM starting in 24 minutes.
So you can go there.
They're gonna be talking about the creator economy
because part of the Dookie Dash,
you'll be able to create your own skin,
your own pants, right?
That's what we talked with Baron last time.
So that's another opportunity in this space, so can't wait.
Beast, do you have anything else
that you would like to share or add?
Go ahead, bro.
Man, the only thing I'm gonna share
that I'm actually really bullish on 2024.
It's been 18 days only.
And I don't know if you feel it the same way,
but so many things are going on.
Also with projects, like not only apes, right?
Like other projects seems to be also killing it
and there is a lot of stuff.
So if we keep going in this space,
it's gonna be fucking epic.
So as always, like thank you guys for joining us,
you payment, you said it like I feel it the same way
that like we really like a group,
like a family who can chat about all these topics
and feel like we're there for one another, right?
Which is beautiful.
And yeah, I mean, can't wait to see you on Saturday.
It's gonna be amazing.
And as always, let's fucking go.
Love it, Beast.
Thank you so much guys for listening.
If you're listening to the podcast recording,
all the links will be in the description
so you can check everything there.
Thank you so much guys.
Have a blessed Thursday, enjoy your day.
And if you have time, watch that launch
because I'm really, really curious.
Yes, much love.
61 minutes and we're fucking launching.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Thank you everyone who joined us on stage.
Thank you everyone for listening.
And this was great for show 237 or six.
I have no idea, probably seven, right?
Seven I guess, yeah, 237.
Let's go everybody.
Let's play again the song.
It's called Winner.
It's by Coolio.
I think we need that.
Let's go, baby.
It's time to take it to a small potential.
Beat this and drop some game on the instrument.
And it's essential that you listen close
and run and tell your folks that the love is spoken.
First things first, it's your day to burst.
You've been kind of confused about what your life is worth.
50 million times your weight is gone.
You gotta take control.
This move's gonna be on.
You can do anything that you wanna do.
All you gotta do is put your brain into it.
Take your time and educate your mind.
In the long run, I'm sure you'll find
that if you walk the walk, you can talk and talk.
But don't wait too long.
Take your time and educate your mind.
That's the alpha.
Let's fucking go, guys.
See you on Saturday.
Have a good one.
Much love, guys.
Have a great day.
