What's up everyone? Happy Monday morning? Well, maybe not morning for all of you, but I hope everything's going all good. Another big week ahead in crypto and gaming, so I hope you're ready to roll.
You guys know that I am I mean ever since this whole FTX thing started to go down I think I've gotten maybe three four hours of sleep between all of the days put together and You know that that's crypto and it doesn't slow down so It is what it is. I'm excited to talk to you guys here today
We've got some huge news at MEX, so you know, want to hear about all these other projects. I'll get something to weigh to all the listeners and keep everybody happy. I see a chicken derby out there in the audience. They're a really cool project if you want. You can bring them up. I know they love the space as much as I do.
Yeah, absolutely. So I take it we're gonna get some alpha this one. Oh today from you. You guys are most certainly getting some alpha. You guys you'll get some alpha in the DMs don't even worry but all the listeners you guys got to wait till the end. That's so some exciting.
Now that's good, great to have you here. We'll try and get chicken Derby up here as well if they're keen to chat. We'll try and fill this room so guys, tweet the room out if you can. It doesn't cost anything. The more people in here, the merrier sounds like mech wants to give some stuff away as well.
Yeah, definitely also want to say what's up to what's up to Devon from Rainmaker games. How you been over there? What's up? What's up? How's it going everybody? Good to talk to you. Things are really well. We've just been heads down building kind of the next
version of what Rainmaker games is going to be. I'm sure as we talk as we all kind of get into it, I can explain a little more, but yeah, I'm doing really well. I hope you're too. Oh shit awesome. Everybody's leveling up over here. That's like that's the best.
Yeah, big shout out to Roma, who games thanks for coming along as well. And we've got chicken Derby up on the panel now. How are you guys going?
Hey, all good here. I mean, we've had like one crazy week as well, so we're really excited to hear what everyone's been up to.
Yeah, it's been crazy. That's definitely a good word for it. Hopefully we see things settle a little this week, but definitely some some unknowns as well. I think I'm gonna see some stuff pop up here and there. I think we just gotta be prepared for that. But weather in the storm
I'm sure we're all building in the background and I'm really excited to hear from everyone else and see what's happening in the background for you guys and then yeah if you do have any alpha or any details that you want everyone to know about definitely feel free to jump on the mic and just go for it.
Yeah, definitely. I mean one one thing like I've been talking to a lot of projects behind the scenes. I mean, I really want to find out what's really going on with this whole FTX thing. I mean, like a lot of it's hush, hush. People don't really want to say, yeah, guys, we had our entire bag in that exchange. We're in crypto, but we let someone else
hold our keys. If you guys don't mind talking about it, I'd like to know if anybody was involved with FTX. I know one polygon was the closest thing that we had that had any sort of connection to that and that barely minimal. We had actually
Like barely any exposure other than that from Mac. I mean, what about what about you guys at Rainmaker games in Devon? Like what do you think of this whole situation? You're like top level you know a little bit more than than the regular guy in the space Yeah, well I guess like we're most people kind of checking in with us like in telegram and all of our
shareholders and token holders and stuff like that is Alameda research actually invested in us when we did our public raise last year in December. The good thing was none of our funds or really our operations were at jeopardy and although the Alameda team did support us and we're one of our backers
I think the check size that they put in was definitely not big enough for them to be kind of, or I guess for us to be like a huge attention grabber for them. So it was kind of like this like crypto thing where they put capital in our project and they want to support us, but their head space is much more
on the projects that they think are more important to them. So in that regard, like the Rainmaker ecosystem is totally safe from everything that's kind of happened on the FTX side. I guess like now that I've said that, like the broader thing of like what happened and what does this mean. I
I guess is updated as everyone else. I don't have any huge insider information beyond what the people who I believe to be closest to it have already shared. I think it's a huge incident that's probably going to be, I think, influential and a lot of things coming in the future of crypto.
It's unfortunate that it happened at this time and I know a lot of people were affected. But I think a long term, this is going to teach a lot of people how to operate in a sense that is more aligned with whatever one else believes to be as cryptoballion.
And for that, I think we're going to be on the other side of this a lot better Love love hearing that I mean oh man that was such an articulate answer and like the main thing I heard you say was that you got FTX to phomo into you I mean that's something like that
love that what what about you guys uh... chicken derby i mean uh... i'm just super curious about it every everything like this whole situation like i think it's going to be turned into a movie i was on that mario i'd be c spaces for like thirty hour straight
Okay, well, if it's a movie, then we sure know some actors who we want to play in there. But yeah, no, we, well, we haven't really been affected. And of course, it's been like a topic of interest in our community, but also
not to the point where we think anyone from our community has been heavily affected. So we're very grateful for that. But yeah, you know, this space, everything being so new, it sucks to say, but stuff like this is bound to happen at some point and it's all trial and error.
And we just got to hope that at the end of the day that we come out stronger and we figure out ways to prevent this from ever happening again. It kind of sucks that we couldn't prevent it from happening now, but hopefully in the future, everyone will be better prepared. So yeah.
Yeah, it's such a big deal and you can come at it from so many different angles. I mean, even like you were saying, Mac in the beginning, you know, how many people I think, how many people are caught up in it and are saying they're not caught up in it, just because they don't want
you know, take to cause, you know, bank run scenarios or, you know, just their community to freak out and worry because that's something that could very easily trigger the next wave of retail investors just selling and obviously
that's not good for anyone. That's stuff like I said at the beginning I think is going to come out here and there. Hopefully they're not giant exchanges and I like to see all the the the tweets and the posts at the moment where you know there's people you know who are high up who have already said that there are already a bunch
of exchange is that they're done basically. It's just a matter of it coming out publicly, which is pretty scary considering what's already happened. Like Chicken Doe said, I think it's got to come out. It sucks that it came out now when it did seem as though
things were slightly kind of improving even if on a macro level. It's just kind of pushed it all down again and it's only going to take one bad news story to just keep pushing it. But yeah, I think even if you throw into the mix of
maybe just in terms of what else could come out from this, the whole lunar debacle. I don't know if you've seen, but when that first happened people were like, "Look, this was an intentional move. This was done on purpose, even if not the whole thing, but just enough to trigger the
the spiral. And if it comes out that any of that was through FTX or through anyone related to this whole thing and animated, then that's going to make this, like you said, the movie is going to be very interesting.
Oh yeah, man, like there's been several of these events and I wasn't really as big into the scene back in 2017, 2017, but from everybody from the people that I've talked to that have been here for a while, this is something that they've seen before just, you know, like under a different brand and I think now
because of this, like, I don't know, we're almost out of the Wild West phase. Like regulations are coming, industries changing, big money's about to come in, and I think this was the last straw. Like if this would have happened in 2017, it would have scared a lot of people, but I don't think it would have scared big money and the politicians into action.
So that, you know, if that does come out of it and things do end up working out, I mean, you know, like it sucks, but at least there's some light at the end of the tunnel. Yeah, I totally agree with that. It's um, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a#
necessary step. Unfortunately a lot of people were getting hurt in the process again which that sucks but I think to progress for the regulation was coming regardless I think again this is speeding it up but yeah I hope you hope that 2020
three at least, maybe onwards and upwards in that regard because I know even on the regulation front there's still going to be, there's not that much clarity, they've pointed at certain things and all these security chat and all this crap, it's I think going to drag out for probably at least another 12 months but hopefully
everything else sort of improves the macro yeah I think like you said well I'd love to say this is gonna be the last event but that's what I said last time so hopefully there is nothing else to follow yeah I mean
I mean, as unfortunate as it is, I mean, that's just not only the industry, I mean, that's the world. I mean, look at what happens with banks, look at what happens with a lot of these corporations holding companies. That's just something that, you know, this is what Tripto is supposed to protect us from. And that's one of the most unfortunate things about it.
I know, you know, not your keys, not your crypto. I tell that to everybody I know, but it's the new people that really got affected, people that don't know better. And something that I would love to see come out of this situation is just different groups really going big on education and teaching people things. That's something that is absolutely necessary.
Yeah, definitely education is huge and I know people who have been in crypto since 27th grade, but they were in such a limit, you know, they were involved in terms of their friend told them to buy this coin and they've had already ever since and they get to say, "Oh, I've been in crypto
2017 but they still got their coins on exchanges and they're just you know it's so hard to gauge what somebody's knowledge overall knowledge of Web 3 is and so naturally people who are in this day and day out you kind of expect
to know the basics, but it's not the case, it really isn't, but I would say 90% at least of, you know, crypto users aren't educated enough in the areas that they're investing, or even just in basic wallet security and, you know, not your keys, not your coins. There's so many
layers to it and so you kind of overlook it sometimes and think well, you know, our community is really well educated, they'll be alright, but it's not the case. Like I think you could never, in this area you could never overeducate, for example.
yeah i completely agree i mean that that's something that i've been doing here at mexins to beginning i mean i'm i'm no expert i i'm the last guy on the planet who you should take financial advice from i don't even know how to trade i buy i buy high and sell low but like i'm huge on letting people know
do not ever click something that you're scared about don't ever give out your seed phrase like just the basics. I mean that's something that everybody needs to know especially being in this scene. I mean you know when when PayPal was brand new when cards were brand new look at all of the crazy stuff that happened and honestly like I think crypto
as bad as it is. I don't think it's as bad as some of the major events that have happened like you know in banking or with cards and things like that. So I mean you know another look on the bright side light at the end of the tunnel sort of thing but you know we're all here we're all games like I want to start talking about gaming when shit
It gets bad. I like to play a game and it makes me forget about it all. So, you know, us over here at Mech, like we're all about gaming. That's what we do. I know Flight Force, Chicken Derby, we've talked several times. How about you guys, Devin, like, what sort of games do you like to play? Are you a gamer?
Yes, to Gamer through and through. Okay, maybe the quickest way to explain this is giving you my Gamer origin story. Now I'm getting. But like the short, I guess sequence here is, I'm going to date myself by this, but I got into
gaming probably PlayStation live, Xbox Live time. And I like the games that I got into playing with my friends were like college uni, model warfare 1, model warfare 2, those type of games. I think that's when I went from like someone who was really passionate about gaming and knowing that I wanted to go there
in the future. As I went from high school to college, I finally learned what an MMO was. So I spent way too much time playing runescape and Elder Scrolls Online. Nowadays, I can't game as hardcore as I was back in the day, but I really like playing MOBAs. So
League of Legends, I'm really into the real-time strategy games like Starcraft or Age of Empires, I really like. The MOBAs that we're trying with that are kind of tackling like the League of Legends-esque style. I think we have Fate Norena, I really liked Inetade.
as well as a couple others that are really cool. Those are web3games that I really like. I'm really looking forward to all of the ones that I think are going to be like AAA quality, whether it's a Louviel and everything else that I'm sure we're going to get into. That's kind of who I am. I'm definitely still a gamer month.
Oh man, that's awesome. Me, I actually started off, even before, wow, I used to play EverQuest, so, you know, me, like, I've been gaming ever since I can remember. Now, like, it's so much harder, but, like, I'm
on the phone 24/7. I've got a whole bunch of different games on my phone. I love the casual games. I also love first-person shooters. Oh man, Flight Force, you guys look awesome. I'm waiting for... Honestly, I feel like
a duty or one of the big ones is going to test the waters with some NFTs or digital collectibles in the next year or two. That's going to be exciting when we see one of these huge mega first-person shooters try to get up into the mix.
Yeah, and whether they call it an MFT or not, I guess we'll know, maybe the user base may not recognize or not click initially, but we'll know straight away when that digital ownership side starts coming in.
But yeah, I I grew up playing games like as a kid playing I don't know if you guys played command and conquer, but definitely got into age of empires. So command and conquer all of the all of the
Grand Theft Auto is the first person shooters, obviously a big deal for me. I loved Counter-Strike. To be honest, Counter-Strike is the only first person shooter I really played on PC. And now that's kind of what we want to emulate in terms of just fun fact, simplicity.
But yeah, that they were kind of the main games I grew up playing. I'd love to see those style games really succeed in Web 3 as well because I think they were fun to play and they were so simple.
So, um, I want to know, what, what does someone have coming out? Like, what, what's something next? Um, what, is there, what, what are you guys building? A chicken derby, rainmaker, games like, what's next for you guys?
So I know you know, but for those who don't know, like, last Monday, honestly, this space goes so fast sometimes, like, was it last Monday or was it two weeks ago, but I think it was last Monday. We launched our own marketplace. So obviously we've been really busy with
that and that's only this week. Like you don't pay attention for three seconds and we hit one million USD payouts for the races. So we're still going to do some fun stuff regarding that as well, but it kind of got away from us that we were all already at that
point. So that's coming. It's it's going to be fun. Trust me. And so we try to like every month have something like a little bit bigger than just normal keeping the game running so that our community knows that they can expect from us. And right now we are
are working on having the wearables. So we have wearables. We have been giving them out of the tournaments already, but obviously they need to be able to put them on the chickens. So that's this month. And after that, we are implementing seasons. And we've got fusion on the horizon as well.
So our community has been really active in trying to figure out how fusion is going to work and what they're going to do and which she can say are going to fuse. So that's probably what everyone is most excited for, but that's a few months ahead. A head doesn't mean we're not already building for it though.
That's awesome. What about you, Devin? I know you guys are doing some cool shit. Yeah, so I guess I'm the only co-host here that's not specifically a web-through game where I guess we categorize ourselves as gaming infrastructure. So giving the quick back
background on who Rainmaker is. We got started early 2021 or technically middle 2020 and we saw the rise of blockchain gaming and me and my co-founder really wanted to figure out how could we impact this rise that the Axi wave brought
and so much others that came after it in the space. We weren't necessarily blockchain or we weren't necessarily game developers, but we have sold a couple of software companies before this. So we wanted to figure out what we could do. And Rainmaker Games is kind of our foray and
how we believe we can impact the space. Our goal is to try to lower the bear of entry of getting gamers into Web 3. And since we've got started, we've done a lot of things to accomplish that mission. Probably the most notable and what everyone knows is for if they know us is kind of like the discovery platform.
that we built. It's our homepage. If you go to our website and it's effectively Netflix, if Netflix was for blockchain games. When you go to it, you'll see a featured game at the top and then you'll have tons of carousels as you scroll down our site on how you can categorize games and discover
new ones you've never seen before. So whether it's trying to figure out what game is the newest, what game is the most fun based on our ratings, what game is the most popular, what game has different earning potentials, or what game is easiest to get started.
it based on what it costs to get the NFT or if it's a free to play game. All of those things are kind of what we built into this first tool that allows gamers to kind of get involved in a new way. From there we think we've done that and gotten a lot of use
and definitely got a lot of value for people. But this next way is trying to build other tools that complement this platform. So we built an NFT marketplace as well as other tools that are really trying to support the Web3 ecosystem.
I guess I can speak a little bit. It's kind of in stealth mode, so I can't speak too much about it, but the tool that is kind of like our next phase of Raymaker is actually trying to bridge Web2 gamers or just traditional gamers into the blockchain space.
So we're building a tool that allows people to play some popular games, whether it's League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League, Overwatch, and CSGO and tons of others to actually plug into our platform and do certain things.
to go into it too much. And after it's final evolution of the product, it definitely is going to bring in some blockchain capabilities and some ways that people can play the games that they love while also having some Web 3 elements and what they use to interact with their friends.
That sounds awesome. Oh my god. I go in these spaces, I hear what everybody else is building, and I get so hyped up, I feel like I just drank an entire cup of Cuban coffee, and that stuff will keep you up for three days straight. That's something else I want to talk about.
about like web 2 to web 3 oh my god I hear that so much like I feel like that might be my middle name already like what do you guys think the best thing to do like what is the best way to do that like is it reddit or I don't know like are we missing something
Yeah, I mean, I can get started here. I'm sure I posed this. The way that my company solves this question is probably a different way that you guys solve questions, being as the Euro game and we're kind of software that supports you guys. But the way that we found here is if we're almost taking the Google approach to this, Google
Builds a lot of tools that interface with the most amount of people as possible. So if we can integrate with as many people or as many games in our case as possible. And if whether they're web 2 or web 3 games, if we're building this tool that people use and find valuable, we can eventually help the web 3 games.
Web 2 gamers find use and utility out of playing their game with some in some blockchain or web-through way. Whether it's challenging each other to rewards, whether it's betting, whether it's using the blockchain in some way, whether it's to just record
in like a user or like a blockchain steady state way just like the history of what their game was. We think that's going to be super valuable and that's kind of our approach to like I said in the beginning trying to lower the bear identity of Game of Up 3.
Oh damn that sounds so awesome holy shit damn I mean I'm I might as well go ahead then what what we're looking to do I mean what Reddit did that shit is incredible I mean who else who else brought milk who else brought over a million people into web 3 who did it I mean
FTX but they don't count anymore But you know like how that all works like you know what polygon did they're one of our VC investors and that's actually what we're looking at like neck.com is One of the most marketable names in crypto. I mean anybody that I do one of these spaces with talk to I
I mean I know I might have a little effect that it might be because of me but you know mech.com that's just so hard to forget so that's what we're looking to do I mean have that gaming platform do web 2 style marketing and just try to get people like reddit did you have these hyper casual fun games and you know like I still play games
I love those games. Like if I see something new, I'm definitely gonna give it a shot. And how I see things, it's if I like it, if I want to do it, I know it's cool and I know there's gonna be other people out there who want to do it too. So if I like something, I know that there's potential. That's what we're really looking to do. I know there's a couple projects
the game.
It's bad when people lose money, everything goes to hell. Like we pick up a phone and play. Like we pick up a controller and game with our friends. That's what makes everything better. And, you know, just like digital collectibles and tokens, it's going to make everything better. We just need to get all of the bullshit out of there.
And you know, that's what we're doing right now. And spaces play such a huge part of it. I mean, honestly, I don't think this thing would have unfolded with FTX. Had it not been for that huge spaces with Mario and IBC, Elon popped in there, said, "Dodged to the moon and all of a sudden something's up 10%
while everything else is down 90, I mean this is going to be a movie guys and I'm letting you know that Tom Cruise he's gonna end up playing me. I love that. But yeah you're right, I guess kind of just going off of what you said. There's definitely been waves in crypto.
2017 was like the the phase of like the ICOs and there are definitely some Dgen people that got involved in that stage. The next wave was in 2020 with DeFi Summer and that was kind of like for the traditional finance people as well as people that
who were super savvy on crypto technology from the last cycle to get involved in their way. The next phase, if we've entered it, seems to be gaming. I don't see anything else in the blockchain or in Web 3 that can come to the same amount of
in terms of bringing users in like you said, like gaming. Maybe it's something like social media, but I just don't see it yet. Gaming seems at least in my eyes to be the low-tinging fruit, and the place where if you do it right, it could lead to huge user adoption. So I'm really looking forward to that.
Yeah, that's I think that's the truth is a lot of people still think that defies the future but really defies going to rely on mass regulation for it to take off and get you know the user base that you know game is if you can and this is kind of a
major focus for us is we don't want to do much different in terms of the game than Web2 already does. We want to make a good game that people can play. They don't have to cash out, they don't have to be investing as such or you have to use the wallets and get heavy
involved there will be an option to play the game and enjoy the game and still be able to level up and get no different to your traditional game that currently operates on tokens and rewards and you know you can go use those tokens for skins the only difference will be really and it'll be very subtle is that you you own these
now. And if you want, you can actually swap those tokens for another cryptocurrency, which if you want. So for us, I think there's millions. I think everyone here knows there's billions of gamers in the world and there's millions that we can
If we can prove the games good enough, then they're eventually going to come over slowly. And if we build the right game and create the simple enough system, it doesn't have to be crazed. Like crypto is the word crypto people freak out when they hear it. Most people you lose them if you tell them anything to do with
with NFTs or tokens, I know that's not, most people think it's not going to be around in the future and that it's just some not scam but you know the technology and I think again pointing back to 2017, the technology was the worry. People were like, is this technology going to survive? Is it actually
you know, a step above what exists already. I think now it's more the funding and the money that's disappeared out of the market is what making people second guess things. But the truth is there's billions of dollars sitting on the sidelines waiting and this is going to be gaming, it's going to be one of the places that that funding gets
deployed. That's the truth. It's very hard in the moment, which let's be real, probably now as bad as it's been in terms of sentiment. I feel I've got all sorts of people in my Twitter feeds saying they're out, they're done, people that have got hundreds of thousands of followers in my
I'm done. This is too much for me. And that's when you start going, you know, even to the extent of my, my own mum is like, oh, it's not going to get any better, is it? I'm like, wow, hang on, is that? Is that the telling sign that maybe we are, you know, have, have the bottom? I hope so, but either way.
The gaming and not so much to play to earn model but the gaming side of Web 3 has got I think like you said that not the easiest user base but the most How do you word this like they are more likely to try again?
game out and then from there be like oh this actually is fun and this actually works and now I'm slowly starting to learn and through the game be educated on what you know digital ownership means because now I realize that you know I've got that NFT and this guy that I played again
he can't have that or it's unique to me or now I know that as opposed to all I can spin my tokens on as in-game items is there is one other option and very slowly and simply integrate these things into our games I think naturally
People are gonna shift over there are definitely be gonna you know there's gonna be stuff that on boards these users much faster I know that there's lots of projects working on that Whether it's through you know streaming and traditional gaming routes, but you know that that requires trial and error
a bit of strategy. We're going to see a lot happen over the next 12 months, which is really exciting. We've got plans to do this. A lot of that comes from breaking down the Barrio event tree. Like Devon said, I think that's another huge thing to do is, you know, people are going to be interested in something that's fun. No matter
matter what, as long as they can get access to it cheaply or you know they don't need the latest and greatest tech to be able to actually play the game along with maybe even like a $20, $30 price tag is too much for so many people so breaking down that barrier of entry which is we're all capable of
Supplying that option, it's just whether it makes a lot of people, a lot of the gaming models has relied on funding for a token or funding through NFTs and then the game gets built and it all requires money. In a market like this, I don't think we have the
the luxury of just being able to throw money around, we have to build the game and that money has to come from somewhere obviously or with the... there's all sorts of teams building at the moment, very small teams and there are some really big teams so I think we're going to see a lot happening in the
space over the next 12 months. Yeah me too. Something else I just want to tell you guys what I'm really looking forward to in Web 3. If you've been on the space with me I'm sure you already know. I want to know what you guys are really looking forward to also. Not this year because
I don't think the super cool things are going to come this year. I think some stuff like we're going to see a lot of innovation. We're going to see some cool games, awesome projects, new tech being built, but what I'm talking about is like Ready Player One and the Pokemon Metaverse where I get a pet charizard or Jurassic Park playing on
VR and digital collectibles in that. That's what I'm looking forward to. That's what I really want in Web 3. When that happens to me, it's going to be like, "Okay, guys, now this is real. Now the world is Web 3." What about you guys? I mean, flight force. What do you think? What are you really looking forward to?
Yeah, exactly that I think games that are integrating with midiverse platforms that'll be one and it may be a case of like what? Devin and Rainmaker are doing there may be Rather than yeah, you're just using a screen to scroll through a bunch of games you're running around
around in the metaverse and there's some demos and you know flashy 3D graphics rather than you know static images on a screen you're interacting with these worlds and you can go and test this game or that game I think on that same note there's going to be and this is obviously a whole nother genre but music I think
that music and concerts are going to play a big role in probably the next 12 months as well. I mean, it's already happening, but once all three of those, which really that is what most people consume, they're either on what
movies, they're either playing games or they're listening to music or something like that's kind of like if those three can come together and work in the mid-averse, whether it's by itself or all in one platform, that's something I'm looking forward to seeing the power of being able to go on.
in a multiversal metaverse setting go to a concert and then an hour later you test things in games and then yeah I think that's the really player one style of platform but like that the
the opportunities that are going to come from having all these things accessible against that infinite. But I think, yeah, we haven't gotten platform yet. I think there's a lot of people building individual products when they all start integrating. That's the thing I'm excited for.
And actually, I'm sorry to backtrack a long way, but just specifically with Raymaking games. You mentioned it's like Netflix and you know jump on. Is there going to be some kind of subscription or how would let's say for example like we were to be on the website would we
would people, is it just essentially a click and it takes them to the other platforms website or their game or how would it work on that side of things? Yeah, good question.
in a perfect world if the web to or the web to space used and built games in a
I guess degree of similarity that happens in the Web2 world. I think this subscription model would actually be something that could be built relatively soon. You could almost imagine something where you pay Raymaker, I don't know, I'm just making up a number here, $50 a month. And in your subscription, every
first of the month, you get to choose five games to pick from. In those five games, if NFTs are required, we have a vault of NFTs that we can allocate you at the beginning of the month. And until next month, you can just enjoy the game as is. I think that would be amazing. I think it would be something that is possible.
but based on the variety and the degrees of freedom that all of these Web Through games are currently building on, I'm not sure it's although a super ambitious goal for us, something that we could tackle in the immediate future. But it's something that we've thought about a few times.
And we think if that is the end game where a maker becomes I think that would be a win for us It truly is accomplishing that mission of getting people into a three without having all of the hassle of all of this friction that Comes with getting into the space, killing a wallet created having to know which assets
to buy and so on and so forth. So almost as an intermediate to that end goal that you talked about, what we've been trying to do is just get people ready to come to the decision that this game that they're researching is one that they want to play. So from this Netflix experience what you can
do is scroll down and find the game that may be interesting to you and click on it and open up the game's detail page. On that page, our job is to almost have everything that you need to do all of the research required and deciding if you wanted to play that game. What are the earnings? What is the token?
How much does it cost to get started if entities are required or is it a free to plug in? We rate all of our games on four different factors and we have dozens of reviews for each game so you can hear what other gamers think about this game For select game for select game, we also have game guides where our own team
game actually plays the game and talks about what it's like to get started and based on what your play sol is or based on how you want to play the game, what you should expect or how much you spend, etc. You could also have all the social media, whether it's Twitter or Reddit or
or Twitch available to kind of do your own research or on our platform. And if you decide that this is the right game, you could just press play. And in a perfect world, like I said, you just get started. But usually what that does, it just takes you to download it in the game's launcher and whatever that is. Whether it's their website or somewhere else.
Yeah, cool. That's really like yeah, you've got a lot of options available I guess like you said depending on the type of game I suppose a lot of games are token gated or Require yeah having an NFT to access but I think like as things progress there's no reason when
say a platform like your own gets really big and gives games that eyes on their project, then there's no reason why a project can't get involved and let's just say, for example, they offer a system where they
give one of your users two weeks of access to their game, whether it's using an NFT that gets put... There's quite a lot of really good options that's exciting and I think that yeah that's exactly... I guess in a way like an
store kind of thing, but also like I think the system is a bit more like audible rather than Netflix where you can you know you pay your subscription and then you can go through and pick for you know two or three books a month and you've got access to those until well forever and and and that subscription
gets your access to the next book or the game. I guess you swap the books for games, but yeah, and I appreciate the answer. Sorry for taking us off track. I know we were talking about what we're excited about over the next 12 months. So if you guys wanted to pick back up where I left, go for it.
Yeah, chicken Derby. What are you guys excited about? What's something awesome that you think is gonna come out of Web 3?
Honestly, we're just waiting for the big bang from Kid's O'Gaming because looking back at anything at some point there is this point in time where you're like what the fuck just happened and everyone starts using something.
And it's very hard to predict when that'll happen, but we are very much hoping next year because well, let's say there is not much time left this year, so let's not put our hopes on that.
Also, most people tend to be busy with Christmas and Thanksgiving and everything leading up to the end of the year. But having said that, there are a lot of people, especially in every
family, I think probably there's someone who at least knows about NFTs or isn't involved with the crypto, but you know, doesn't tell the family because there's always going to be someone who's going to be annoyed by it or is going to be like, yeah, but the environment is that
blah blah blah. Like if you want to have a fun Christmas conversation, give some NFTs as Christmas games, you know, put them on the Christmas tree and be like, yeah, I got you to make a wall that you can get it. See what happens.
I'm definitely gonna do that. My sister might throw the envelope at my head, but it is a gift. So I'm gonna see what happens. So that's like for Christmas, just guys trying to get the conversation going and then maybe next year we'll have the big bang for all of us.
Yeah, that's a good idea. Yeah, definitely. I mean, that's something that you need. We need regular ordinary people just to stop being so scared and get into the space. Eventually, it's going to happen. And gaming, like this is
going to be such a huge part of it. What about you doing over there at Flight Force? The Rent and Earn NFT Shooter game, that's something that's really cool. The whole rental system, that's what really spurred the bloat like the
you're going to be lacking in the industry. Yeah, I agree. I think for us, the rental system does two things for us. It breaks down the barrier of entry for others who didn't get in an NFT stage. I'm talking
This is going to be two, three years from now when we've minted out all our NFTs and the only time we mint is when we see that the demand is there for it and it's necessary for the game to keep developing. We want it to remain sustainable so we don't want to...
create an inflation issue either with tokens or NFTs. So for us from the rental side, yeah, like I said, it breaks down the barrier. You've got one phase which is now, this is where everyone gets in early and there's going to be a combination now of investors who are interested in NFT for many reasons.
they believe in the project, they want the tokens that are attached to them, or they simply want to build a little army that they can rent out themselves. And so the second phase is when we release this gaming, start getting these gamers on board, to reach those millions of gamers that can't afford even like now our price in
I mean, this is a sign of the times, but for a project like ours, we've minted our NFTs for about $30 worth of ath at the moment. So it's crazy. Like 12 months ago, that would have been 150 bucks, no one would have bought an eyelid and you probably didn't even have to have tokens attached to it. So the idea for us is obviously
it increases the user base for one and makes it more accessible to those millions of gamers. And it's actually a huge part of our revenue generating model because it will create transactions in the game hub. And that's where we get a lot of these fees that accrue
over time they go into a wallet that then go and buy back tokens and then burn those tokens. And so it's a massive part of what we're doing and I think it's going to be really interesting because yes like Axi has done it and we're actually using very similar model where a lot of people kind of freak
out when you hear about renting NFTs because what happens if something goes wrong and you lose your NFT, well it's very simple now in a game sense when you are offering the use of that NFT is not actually the NFT. It's the character that is attached to the NFT within the game.
And so now you're talking about essentially just giving access to someone else to the game character rather than the NFT. The NFT delegates what character you get access to, yes, but the NFT never leaves you wallet. So it's secure, it's safe, but I think
Again, this is another thing that's going to have to spend, you know, people are always going to be skeptical about using something like that for the first time until they use it or unless they watch and wait and see that it's, you know, it gets tried and tested. But I think actually it's done a good job of that and like I said, it's, I think,
If you have a game and you have NFTs involved, there's absolutely no reason why you couldn't integrate it. And this is something that you could literally just tack on to your game at a later stage if need be as well. Yeah, I completely agree. What do you think
about that Devon, the whole rental system. A lot of people that I've talked to, it's one extreme or the other. I find it odd that there are rarely cases where people just agree in the middle ground. A lot of people that I talk to, it's either very for it or very against it.
Yeah, I guess my opinion here is maybe the best way to put this is it depends on why you're renting right like um if a rental system is there and it's adding value I feel like there's no downside and people shouldn't actually look at it as like a part of
a game that you just like. But I could totally see why, let's say you have a game with a breeding mechanism that incentivizes users to try to arbitrage making money through breeding. And the long-term effect of that leads to
huge hyperinflation and the NFT supply. I think that is something that if an investor is really looking at something and hoping that their NFT holds value, they probably wouldn't like. Usually games that put themselves in these circumstances usually rely
on having other players use their NFTs to play the game for them in which case an NFT rental system is required for that. So those are the type of things on, I guess, using that line of thinking, I can understand how people go from
A to D and don't understand the underlying causes of what happened to make that rental system almost correlate with why they don't like a game. It sounds to me that your game at Flight Force is definitely thought ahead because
the advantages for you guys is you've seen kind of the pitfalls that people before you have kind of stepped on or stepped in I guess. So in which case I don't think that correlation is not causation is kind of what I'm trying to get out here and I think it could be extremely valuable while still being a great game.
Yeah, I think another thing that people who are just learning about this kind of thing when they hear about NFTs been rented, their mind naturally goes to like, you know, big, you know, whether it's a board at Yop club or something and they're like, well, yeah, I guess it may
sense because you know these people who currently own NFTs which are worth thousands of dollars the only way of actually getting the value out of those is by selling them and I guess on a much smaller scale that is kind of what's happening with a lot of other games
2, whereas the NFT though itself is starting low in terms of the value. And then once people see the use case for that, you know, whether it's because somebody can earn a lot of tokens by using that NFT and then potentially cash those tokens out.
That is what is going to kind of open people's eyes, but then yeah, there's a lot of things that is game specific that could affect the rental side of things like what you were saying with breeding. If there's a way to game the system, you're either going to have to be very clever on the smart contract side or even just in a way trying to
keep it as simple as possible in terms of how things work because there's always going to be people looking for the holes and if they exploit them then that's not good for your game, it's not good for anything really so yeah there's a lot of things that are very much game specific and it also acts as specific too because
You could do this no differently with, you know, metaverse platforms. If it's a token-gated metaverse, instantly renting out an NFT becomes an option. But whether that's, yeah, part of the model from the beginning or gets tacked on later, that's, yeah.
a lot's going to depend on the platform of the game itself in terms of rent was back. Like you said for us, it's kind of been part of what we designed from the beginning combined with a gaming guild and just getting accessing that other user base.
What about you guys at Chicken Derby? Is that a big part of your game? Is that something that you guys feel your community is really into?
Um, Renty is not a part of our game. Um, and they're not gonna say never because you know what happens in the future, but it's not now. Um, but I want to add on what Devon said about failure and
That's the thing, you know, it's crypto games. It doesn't really matter if you have it or not, as long as you can explain why it's best for your community that you have it or not. And that doesn't just go for renting and goes for everything.
If you're building something, if you have the game and you're building something extra, like you always got to ask yourself, why are we doing this? Is it to look fancy or is it actually something our community wants? So I understand like what you're saying when it comes to people never agree with each other because
that, well, that's just something that we see a lot in crypto doesn't matter if it's crypto gaming or not. But if you have a good team, then they can explain why something is valuable for them or not. And that's really all that matters, actually.
Yeah, that's definitely a good point. There's no point. Just adding something because it's the shiny new thing or everyone else has made use of it so I shouldn't worry. It's got to make sense for your one new community into the game you're making.
Mick, did you manage to see that article on the... I think it's either game... So it's game spout with a three instead of an E. The game awards, which are Web 3 based gaming awards. Did you manage to see that?
Nah, I didn't even know about him. What? I feel I don't even feel like I belong here anymore. Oh shit. I wish someone would have told me what it was. What was it? Who hosted it? What channel is it on? Where do I find it? Do I have to wait till next year? Is there another one tomorrow? Is there gonna be a replay?
give me the details. I don't think it's been yet. I think it's early December. So from what I've read and what I've seen is that this game with a three is trying to become kind of like the main awards. Well, luckily Grammy Awards, but for Web
three gaming is how they've wetted it, I think. And so there's 200 games that have applied or entered. And I think there's like 14 or so different categories. And basically, I guess it's the question I have is is that something that you guys see
growing in this space as we go but also is it something that maybe you would look at going for and entering. I mean me personally it's not my call but I definitely want to watch and if I could oh man I want to be a judge that's what I want to be I want to be a judge in Ho
their Twitter spaces. That's actually something that was in the article that I found kind of, well maybe not strange, but from what I read, the judging panel is made up from some pretty decent names that have come from good backgrounds in the traditional gaming.
area and the way that it works from my understanding is that they have 90% of the vote and then the last 10% comes from the community so it's definitely heavily skewed percentage but yeah I guess like there's no reason you couldn't be on the panel judging oh no
I don't like that. That sounds too much like FTX. They got to decentralize that a little bit more. Spread the tokens around. I can share a little bit here because I just checked through my Telegram and it looks like a Polka Starter is the one who's doing the game awards and they messaged us giving us an update.
I'm sure this isn't, I'm sure if you've already read the article, this is not new information to you, but I can just read like the first 102 census. So the Game Awards data set for the 15th of December. We take pride in gathering over 30 game industry leaders as our jury members, including Web 3 Giants,
and media outlets to bring you the biggest Web 3 games of the year. Over 100 Web 3 games are nominated across 16 unique categories with 300k USD worth of prizes on the line. They linked a video announcement, a press release, and then they said voting starts soon and then they linked to
So I'm assuming we can all get our communities to vote for certain things and that would actually play a role in like was mentioned by Flag Force, the 10% community voting rights or whatever. So sounds cool.
Yeah, thanks for reading that out. I should have pulled that up. I'm pretty bad at multitasking, but yeah, I think it's really good for Web 3. I mean, it's another kind of insight into, you know, you imagine something like that. It's going to, if it gets good interest in this market, then you imagine
when things are running smoothly next year, hopefully it's... yeah. That's another thing that can onboard Web2 games or traditional gamers is when they see that hang on a second. What, there's 200 plus games here and they're actually
actually good, like, and that's sustainable. They're not ponzzies where the token inflation goes out the window just for a three-month period where everyone cashes in and the rest of them just... Yeah, I think it's a pretty cool concept, so good on them for starting it.
What I want to what do you guys think about entering that? I mean is that something that you would want to enter flight force chicken Derby?
I'm curious, who's going to enter that? Is there a list of all the games in there? I want to go check them out and try to predict who's going to win. Maybe go on one of these betting websites and do something that I'm not allowed to talk about while I'm being recorded.
the same thought I was like well because we're so busy building and obviously we're working with other projects but outside of that I don't really get to see and I don't really have the time to go and research all these projects and see what the building I'm sure that
in that list there's going to be some pretty awesome stuff I've never heard of or seen before. And 100%, once we're up and running, that's the sort of thing. Why would we? Yeah, why wouldn't you want to be involved in that? It's going to be good exposure. Again, it's going to
like another onboarding system. If you've got one on a ward, then that's going to become something you can have on your website that you're known for that gets you just that little bit more. You get noticed a little bit more by the wider Web3 community.
Well, you're not the only one who has to feel bad about it because I missed it too, so I'm gonna have to look it up now. But, you know, the thing is, like, okay, for me personally,
And whenever something is shiny, you want to check it out. It's just it grabs your attention. The same thing goes with stuff like this. People like it when there's an event going on. There is something they can vote for, something they can be involved in.
So we're definitely going to have a look at what's going on there. But yeah, I also think that it's a good thing for a crypto gaming because well, honestly, anything that has the potential to bring new people in and be like, oh, look, we're having a
in a war show because you know how many people watch the Oscars. It's just going to bring people in and anything that does that like we can send behind that. So unless they are doing it properly, let's go. We are in. We want to know what's going on. So yeah, definitely going to look it up.
Yeah, I think the only thing that I can see that may cause a little bit of drama would be that voting system because naturally Web 3 is, you know, this decentralized mindset, "Oh hang on, how come the judges get 90% of the vote here?" But who knows?
may change and it may actually be for good reason I guess. If you have a giant community and it is relying just on community vote then if you've got too much pool because you're just a big deal you know it's not going to take much for you to actually win an award so but then at the same time you don't want there to be some
stuff going on behind the scenes with that people on the panel. But yeah, no, I think it's good overall for sure. But I think we're coming up just over an hour now guys. So if you guys have anything that you want to add or finish, just what's most important
important, where people can find you, learn a little bit more about your project. Obviously we've got some awesome projects and speakers up on the panel here. So everyone who is in the audience, definitely please give everyone a follow and just jump in the discord, see what they're about.
because this is how we grow in the VMarket is one together but also just by supporting each other. And sometimes a like and a follow is it does a lot more even a retweet in the room. That sort of stuff makes a big difference. But yeah, if you guys have anything you want to finish on and add, definitely go for it. The floor is yours.
I guess on Mayan, just closing thoughts here. Super excited. Thanks everyone for inviting me. It was really fun to hear everyone's perspectives. I guess on the Rainmaker side, like I said, we have a lot of things in stealth mode, but if you go to our website, you can still find out a lot of information.
about everyone else in the game and ecosystem and to learn about other games, potentially if I'm willing to play. So our website is rmg.io. I'm on my personal account, but Rainmaker Games is listening in to this space now so you can go there. Our Discord
is dsc.gg/raemaker. So you could just go there. And I'm sure if you just type in "brainmaker games" in Twitter, you'll find it'll link you to all of our other socials. So thanks everyone again. I'm going to be listening in to the future episodes. It was really nice for having me.
Same here. I always love talking to smart people who actually know what they're talking about. There's too many people out here who bullshit and just actually believe what they're saying. It's hard to believe, but oh man, like you can see them, like you can see it in someone's face when they do it.
It happens time and time again. So, you know, thanks for coming, Devin. I mean, if you ever want to come on another one with Mac, I mean, Flight Force, Chicken Derby, they come on all the time whenever Flight Force does another one. I'm pretty much here all the time. Love the spaces and love to see what you guys are doing over there.
Right on, I'll definitely keep you guys informed.
Yeah, I'd also like to have a conversation with you, Devon, and continue outside of the spaces, but again, exactly like Max said, I'd love to have you on another space or even just get into something on a
with Mick too. So I appreciate everyone being here. It was awesome to also get chicken and chicken Derby up. We'd love to be in some more space with you guys as well. Learn a bit more. But yeah, I think for us for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for for#
words would be that obviously we're minting now we've still got the minting incentives going if you want to know anything about what we're doing just jump on the website there's a white paper there's an NFT pitch deck it is a complex project it's not it's not a quick flip it's a long
whole. There's tokens involved. We have no outside investors at the moment. This is self-funded so far by myself and the co-founder. We are building in this market regardless. And this is kind of where we're going to be. And for the next,
along it takes. We're here in these spaces talking with our community in the discord. So if you have any questions please just jump in and ask in the discord we're always there and we're always happy to be transparent and answer questions.
Yeah, same to you guys. I mean, thanks for having me. I can't get enough of these spaces. Oh, man, like I actually think I'm addicted. I might need help, but it's not bad for my health yet. So it's okay. One thing, I mean, I did make the listeners wait long enough. I guess I might as well just come out of the woodwork and tell you all now.
what we're doing at Mac. I mean, we've sold a lot of these NFTs and compared to some other games out there, they were on the, you know, rather on the expensive side. So what we decided to do, we're doing a huge collection bigger than ever. One 10,000 collection, everything absolutely free. Free mint for the community, for the fans, for the players. Any of you guys
listening who are interested come on down to the mech discord server tag me in the chat say I was here in the spaces I know you have something for me give me give me give me I want it for free right now I'll hook you guys all up any projects if you want to give some out to your community just let me know that's something that I love doing we all know how it goes with these free minutes in the
secondary. So one thing that I'm making a priority before we try to go out and do the typical Web 3 collabs, I want to give them to gaming projects, guilds, people who are actually going to play the game. So any of you who are interested, all you listeners, make sure you come on down. If you're going to use an ult, try to get to, just don't tell me as long as you're going to play the game#
Oh, that's huge. I almost forgot about this as well. So yeah, this is awesome. What are you able to say kind of a little bit more on what the actuality is a bit? Yeah, I mean, they're max. It's the exact same thing. They just have a little bit
lower stats. I mean, you know, since we sold the other ones, they were a little expensive. You can't come out and just do the exact same thing. I mean, that's going to, that's stupid. That's not what you do. You don't do that to your community. So, you know, the, the ones that we sold before, they're obviously better, most light, well, they're going to have, you know,#
sections of the map, there's going to be rewards for the holders, but having getting a free NFT being able to play the game, and I'm not supposed to tell you guys this, but that may be the ticket to get into something, to do something, to be a part of something bigger down the line.
I just want to you guys end up telling my boss that I said that, just know that I might come looking for you. I like my job too much, but you know that's what it is right now. I'm freement for the community. We're just trying to give back to the players. Everything that I was saying before, when the markets get bad, everybody flocks to gaming. Gaming is something that has been
Almost I'm not going to say completely recession proof, but it says closest we're going to get so you know when times are rough I like to play a game and I want that I want everybody out there to be able to game with me Yeah, that's flipping awesome and and I think that a big huge thing at the moment Right now I think a lot of people don't realize that
with gaming as long as there's stable coins as long as there is something that you can cash out to if that game has a sustainable model and is profitable then there's nothing stopping it the market does not matter if you have a good game that people enjoy playing and that model benefits
from more people playing the game, then you're essentially creating an assistant outside of the macro. Everyone's going to play games no matter what. I mean, especially like someone mentioned earlier, if they've had a hard day or they just want to zone out, the gaming is there. And this is where games can separate
from say like a DeFi platform or something like that where there's a lot of other forces involved in terms of keeping a token value healthy. As long as we can build these games sustainably and there's demand to play them, we can all, we can, we live in our own little world essentially.
Yeah, couldn't agree more. Chicken Derby, you got any last words for us? Maybe you have some alpha for the listeners?
Yeah, we kind of gave it away already because we hit like a major milestone. Very likely at the end of the week, there's something really fun going on that people maybe want to check out, but also again, like you don't tell my boss.
wasn't zero if I was supposed to say that already, but it is happening. Keep an eye on it. It's like, just never tell a boss what's happening in these spaces. Like at some point we don't know what we're saying anymore. But yeah, so
was really awesome being here guys and we love being on this space with everyone and we also have them so if you want to come on and join one of our spaces at some point let us know we would love to have you and thank you so much for having us it's really really great
Awesome having you and same for everyone including the listeners. Thanks for coming along I know the markets tough and people have got work to do stuff to do Mondays but we really appreciate your support and love having you here so thanks again to
all the speakers. Thanks to the listeners. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your week and yeah we'll have another episode and like Mac and chicken Derby said that the holding spaces too. So jump in those and we'll see you all again soon.
Everyone.
