Music testing testing anyone got me oh here we go king thumbs up to see it uh we got king as well we'll
get some of our other speakers back on the
show this always happens to us i swear elon has a vendetta against us at this point because as soon
as we really dive deep into the cook elon's like nah this is too hot for x we we can't deal with
the amount of people who want to listen to this show at this point we don't have the infrastructure
here for it so we're just gonna have to close out the show and reset to zero.
I won't be told any different.
You can try and explain this to me as a dev.
You can try and explain this to me as a logical human being.
I won't hear it.
This is exactly what's happening.
Elon is scared with the heat we are bringing on this show
and the alpha we're bringing on to this show.
But listeners, thank you so much for finding us again.
Already coming right back in here, so you guys know where it's at.
You know X is buggy as all hell, so you know the drill.
You just look at karate combat, find a little purple outline again,
and you've hopped straight back in.
Big, big shout-out to Swade AI and Una for finding the show again so quickly.
Swade, you were given a banger take,
so I wonder if you could give us a quick TLDR
about where you were going before we got rugged
and then just jump straight back in.
Yeah, I think, you know, just, you know,
I appreciate you reopening it.
I think, you know, like the lowering of the barrier to entry
for everyday market participants goes both ways.
I think, you know, anybody being able to start something and pitch their idea to people and if they can win the minds and hearts and, you know, they've got a successful project and if they do right by that community, then it goes on to flourish. And on the other end, people can invest in anything that they believe in. So, you know, I think it's just more of these kind of the virtues of cryptocurrency that we often take for granted that make so many incredible things possible.
Yeah, again, heavy, heavy agree here.
And just great takes overall.
I love this idea that we can get back on track with it.
And I do think 2025, if you're in the space like you can't not be bullish and i don't
mean on crypto x i mean building within the space or surrounded by builders within the space like me
and king are like once you're on shows and you hear people building and you hear the experience
in the room and the consensus of yeah no it't perfect. And we're not pretending it was perfect.
We're just building towards a solution
that definitely helps us move forward from it.
Like that's all you need to know.
Like obviously building on the blockchain is dope.
Obviously building in a way
where you can actually reward
the early supporters of your project
in terms of community members is great.
I've bought an iphone since the freaking
3gs and realistically do not get a single one percent discount on the new iphone when it
releases that i have to buy because they freaking release an update of the old phone that drains the
battery for you know they literally actually some legal stuff going on around that at the minute
in certain countries you've noticed this by the way um but like legitimately that's that's web 2 rails right is like a product that is
supported for over a decade by a user and they get zero value for it whatsoever and then you have
this space where if you were here early and you supported the project and maybe you even fed back
or helped the market with your own account
and your own side all of a sudden yes you can get tokens you can hold those tokens and be rewarded
if the team continue to produce or you can sell those tokens at any point this this is massive
like this is definitely once we get the issues that we've talked about right and solved no
project's going to be able to compete who aren't doing this because like if
that's the option it's either get it reward or don't of course everyone's going to go with the
projects that actually value their end users but king i want to get the mic back over to you here
what's your take on all of this is there anything that you've learned during your time both as a
creator but also with karate combat in terms of like how real
community is built and like how people feel valued as community members? Is it all about
just token and financial reward or is there any way you feel really helps a user become a community
member? I mean, it's a feeling of like welcoming, right? It's not only the things that you name, but it's also
things like listening to feedback and acting on the feedback. And, you know, like we said,
you compensate, but don't overcompensate. And that's the best way. And organically, right?
You don't want to force things. Like you said, you don't want to over incentivize. You don't want to,
you know, give people too much to where they're like, hey, look, man, this is a lot.
I want to take this, you know, right now. It's kind of mind games and it sucks, but it's just
how sales and everything works all around the world. It's you just got to kind of organically
grow it. And, you know, like I said, do the things that matter right the rewards the listening to
feedback actually being there for community hosting events for your community so that they
could come together and build stronger community because a lot of the times i think that's where
people miss the ball is they spend a lot of the time on the net doing things and the communities
that really win and that are really strong communities and you guys know them in the spaces
the ones that throw parties or throw events or get togethers at every convention, those are the strongest ones.
And it's because their community helps build itself from the inside and they just facilitate
that. Right. Uh, so it's a small things. I've been in a lot of communities has failed. I've
been in a lot of communities that's done really well. And you know, it's no perfect answer or
perfect route for everyone. I think everybody's GPS is going to give them a different route.
But I think there are certain guidelines you could live by that could help you aim towards success.
And as far as what you were talking about earlier, too, about talking about your failures and stuff, for any builders in here that are like, if you're worried about failures, then you're kind of in the wrong space, right?
If you're worried about failures, then you're kind of in the wrong space, right?
If you really think about it from a simplistic mindset, right?
Just think of all of the great inventors in the world and just go research them and see how many times they fail before they succeed it, right?
And that's just a process of building something great.
It takes time.
It takes failures.
It takes you messing up.
The best thing to do is, and this is another thing that communities really love, is having the humility and the humbleness to say, hey, look, we made a bad decision, guys. We're working towards fixing
that bad decision. And we're willing to hear feedback. And these are the plans that we have
so far. And we want to know what you guys kind of think, right? And not saying that you have to act
on everything the community says, but it's also good to get feedback from the people who are going
to invest their hard earned money or their easily earned money into your product, you know, because they
value it the same. It doesn't matter if it's hard earned or not, you know, when they look at putting
their money into something and they expected an ROI or something back from it, they're going to
be looking at you weird when they don't have that. So sometimes it's not going to work out and you're
going to have to just, you know, have the humility to say that and be like, hey, listen, yeah, we screwed up.
We're not perfect. We're all humans. Nobody's perfect. If you're perfect, get from around me. You're an alien.
And I don't think I'm ready to be around aliens yet.
But just if they're listening, if I have to choose a side, I'm choosing you guys. Sorry, humans. I love you guys, but I don't think we're going to win that war.
But yeah, man, you're going to make mistakes.
So just kind of like, you know, be human, right?
And I think that's the best thing is a lot of the times I think coming from like a creator
from the Web 2 space transferring over to the Web 3 space and Web 2, I felt like I was
talking or working for or going up against like things instead of humans and in web3 it's more
humanized you you get to talk to the ceos you get to talk to the actual founders and things and it's
a little more access to it and i think that also helps as well so um yeah that's kind of my take
on it you know like i said there's no real real route you can give someone but i mean i think
there are a few gas stations you should hit along the way to fill up your tank with some good stuff to get you to the destination.
Look, banger metaphor.
Great, great take.
One, I can't personally resonate with too heavily because I am perfect.
But outside of that, I really did love the take.
And I understand for most mere mortals, this would have been something they can relate to.
This is also our last show, guys.
Now that I find out that Jack's an alien,
I have to reconsider my options.
I'm going to take my talents to South Beach.
Dude, honestly, last person to reflect
as a perfect human being on the planet.
You guys should see my weekends.
My God, I literally, I put all the work in Monday to Friday and my God, do I hear it on the weekend. Sometimes I don't
leave my house, literally. I just don't leave it. I'm just video games, Cheetos, snacks,
like all the wrong stuff, all the wrong stuff. But all of that to be said, genuinely love the
take. It reminds me, I think I might have shared this before,
but there was actually like a psychological study
that I think is so relevant when we talk about projects
who feel like they can't share their failings
or communicate their failings
and do want to display themselves as perfect.
And there was this study,
which was in like a shopping mall over in the US,
where they had two people, two women, selling blenders, of all things.
And they were on separate floors in this mall.
And it was literally one of those kiosks where you could just go in
and they would demo how the blender worked.
One user, or one of the salespeople, would just run through the demo perfectly.
No mistakes, just like absolutely had it down
and then would offer people a purchase of the blender.
The other person on the other floor would actually not put the lid on properly.
The juice would go everywhere or the blended stuff would go everywhere
and they would be really like
you know upset and concerned and be basically like look it's not the blender it was me i made
a mistake the sales for the person who was just open about the mistake were just night and day
for the person who got it perfectly people just resonated so much more with the person who made
the mistake and and i think this is honestly just reflective
of the world that we're in right now no human being is perfect and when they see perfection
especially now with ai they do they literally recoil from it like they have kings sort of like
external like oh that's not human i don't want to be near that shit. I'm not that way. This makes me uncomfortable. This makes me feel not quite right. And that's honestly this space in a nutshell. I think if you communicate when you do fail, and it's not perfect, like if it's literally on TGE day, and you know, you've got a contract that literally locks up all the funds or, you know, I'm not saying like like there is like a road to return on any failing
but for the most part if you've just like misstepped and you need to correct that but
you have two options in front of you you can either correct it and hope nobody notices or
just acknowledge the problem get out in front of it and say look this is the mistake we made
here's how we're trying to put this right for our community i would argue 10 out of 10
times the people who communicate that are gonna 100 be on a better front with their community for
the long run but not only that if that other project are so concerned now for the next month
about people finding out the issue that they are not building effectively anyway and probably the
team feel really uncomfortable even if the founder doesn't about the fact that they can not building effectively anyway. And probably the team feel really uncomfortable, even if the founder doesn't,
about the fact that they can't explain what the issue was
or how to put it right,
or the fact that the project was trying to put it right
in the first place.
Look, we've got a bunch of hands.
We're really close to end the show.
So I want to make sure we get a final take
from Una, Suede, and Afi.
Guys, we've got probably about five or six minutes left.
So just keep that in mind with your takes. But we'd hear from you all una mike over to you first yeah i know really
appreciate that uh glad to be back after the elon rug thanks for reopening the space just a quick
one uh just completely agreeing with first of all everything king just said you nailed it spot on
everything i would have said but you worded it better so well done sir and just a quick example
exactly of what you said about accountability and that was was when Ben from Bybit had the $1.5 billion of East stolen from
North Korea, and he got ahead of it. And, you know, he went on every show, you know, he was
available, he didn't sleep and he was just there. Like, how could I fix this? Like this happened,
it is what it is, you know, so let's fix it. And yeah, that accountability, humanizing ourselves, you know, everyone loves an underdog
Everyone loves a comeback story.
And just getting away from the PFPs, you nailed it in terms of getting out IRL at conferences
and throwing parties like Barrett Chain did and building a community that way, you know,
just so many good points made.
And yeah, just that example about Ben from Bybit's a good one in terms of how to deal with the crisis.
I'll give the mic away.
And thanks so much for having me today.
It was an amazing conversation.
Truly enjoyed myself.
And I look forward to the next one.
Now, the thanks is all from us, dude.
Absolutely banger takes and love the participation of all you speakers.
Made my job and King's job super easy today with all the heat you guys brought.
Swade, i'll throw the
mic over to you next we'd love to hear your final thoughts on all this yeah really quick um you spot
on i couldn't agree more with what you said and that analogy is great and i think that's one of
the dangers of monetizing everything in the way that we do with crypto i think it's a great thing
in the long run but also you know focusing on token price and being afraid of, you know, if I do this, how is it going to appear? What are the optics? I think that can get in the way and make us want to project perfection more so when case for trying to push the TG out when you can and things like that. But
that was a great reminder for myself. And I'm glad you brought that up.
And thank you for having me on. And this has been a great show. Really, really an honor.
No, no. Thank you guys so much again. And look, even the spaces, right? Like even just giving
our perspectives and being vulnerable enough to just
understand that we're going to spend an hour talking about a subject that a lot of community
members are going to have really specific feelings on and still put ourselves out there and just say,
look, this is how I feel about this subject. I think that's all you need from founders. Like
when I see the same guys turning up week in, week out, and just expressing what they feel about the
industry that they're in, in the early days, that gives me enough faith in believing that these guys
are actually genuinely here because they believe not only in what they're building, but in the
space they're building it in. There's no bigger red flag than me, than a logo on an X account
that just feels like they've got one social media person behind the brand
and you don't see the actual founder or team in any other respect. You don't hear their voice.
You don't see them. You don't see them on shows. You don't see them IRL. This really is like the
easiest way to just be like, Hey, if I don't know anything about the crypto space, what's the one
thing I should look for to just get a sense of like are these guys legit or are
these guys genuinely here for a good reason are they turning up on shows are they turning up irl
are they in any way shape or form turning up on social media the answer is no to that right now
with everything else being equal if you see another project that are doing exactly the same
thing and are doing those things go for the other project would be my general take i know it's not perfect but it's definitely better than just like picking faceless brands without any
realization if there's an actual human behind it afi i'll throw the mic over to you i really want
to make sure all our speakers get one final take before we do close out how have you found the
conversation and what your what are your final thoughts about you know gamifying loyalty and
just the conversation more broadly that we've had today.
Yeah, thanks so much. Thanks so much for having me. A lot of great takes here.
Yeah, I want to touch on a few points actually really quick. So earlier we discussed some of the concerns that we had about the distribution mechanisms or whether it's worth rewarding
certain tasks and how to deal with fraud. So I do have some quick tips there.
So one is just make sure that
the distribution mechanism is controlled.
For example, instead of opting for something that is airdrop,
maybe look at something that is performance-based,
which is maybe you're paying per task at a time,
and the distribution is happening in real-time,
and so that's not going to create any type of cell pressure.
So that's one. The other one is also for different tasks, you could choose different
amounts of incentives. So for example, you could say that maybe for something like posting content,
maybe you give one token, but for something more valuable like maybe transacting or using your
product, maybe that's five tokens.
Then the third part is touching upon fraud.
Fraud is huge, but there are also security mechanisms that are
out there like Antibot and stuff like that.
Make sure that we're looking into these tools as well because that could
really help save a lot of
the budget that you've allocated towards incentives.
And we also touched upon failing, and I think that's extremely important to discuss,
and I think it's extremely important to fail and fail fast and iterate quickly.
So yeah, those are my thoughts. Thanks so much once again for having me. Super interesting
conversation. Look forward to you know joining
in further discussions and um staying in touch with the fellow speakers as well yeah absolutely
you guys have been the goats today like genuinely genuinely mean that as well like it's great having
a show where all the speakers are just dying to get back on the mic and you guys have cooked on
this one big big shout out to everyone here king i want to get the mic over to you before we do
and just ask you if there's any updates any milestones or anything else you'd like to share
before we do close out the show first off thanks to all the amazing speakers great tech today one
of my favorite shows we've had um a lot of good insight and a lot of good truth so you like to
hear that like you said it seems like a lot of you know fakeness in the space and kind of
faking it till you make it or um you know hiding things with sheets so um it was great to hear you
know a lot of honest takes today uh as far as karate combat updates i know it's been a little
leery lately um i've been kind of like hinting at things and i haven't been able to say things fully
but we got a lot more down i got a lot more information I can give you on now. So we're doing the most massive thing Karate Combat has ever done.
If you're not in Miami this July, you're going to miss a very historic event.
There's a lot of big things going on.
Normally, the most we've ever had is two title fights in one night.
Now, we're doing two days, four title fights, and a heavyweight tournament, which will include one of those
titles. All right. So it's an eight man heavyweight tournament. It will involve one of our superstars
in karate combat that has basically not been in the ring more than 60 seconds. And he's fought
like four times for us. Robelos Espana. He's the favorite in the tournament. And they were bringing
in a bunch of guys to basically fight him. It's quite a few names. Zach Puaga. He's from favorite in the tournament and they were bringing in a bunch of guys to basically fight him
It's quite a few names. Zach Puaga. He's from the UFC
You have some glory champions coming over so we really got some of the best strikers in the heavyweight division
in the world To come and compete in his eight-man tournament and it is tournament style. So you heard it correctly
They will be fighting multiple fights. So they will be fighting multiple fights. It is an eight-man tournament
So it'll work just like if you think of uh the elite eight in college basketball that's
how it's going to work so every time they win they'll move forward and they'll have to fight
at least i think it's about three guys um in order to win the belt so a really test of warriors to
see who's really the best heavyweight these are some really big boys so expect a lot of quick
knockouts like i said our favorite that's going into the tournament um the uh rebellious espania has only been in the ring probably like 45 seconds
and he's fought multiple times for us so it's going to be a really amazing one also we have
three other title fights um aelene prayer alex prayer sister who's also become a superstar in
karate combat will be fighting for the belt. Her opponent is TBTBD.
She did have an opponent, but we did have issues there.
So we're working on that.
Then you have also Stephanie Oliveira,
who hasn't fought in a while, one of our other women's champion.
She'll be fighting Jay Duran,
another of one of our rising stars in karate combat.
She's getting her belt opportunity against Stephanie Oliveira.
So that's going to be a really big one.
Our champ, Stephanie Oliveira is like four-time karate international champion.
I'm pretty sure she did the Olympics as well.
I might be wrong there.
But she's very, very, very big in the karate world.
J. Duran is a crazy striker.
She comes over from France.
We've had really great Franceance fighters and she's one of
the top ones so it's gonna be super exciting to see that and then we have our two of regard the
crypto champ um he'll be defending his title against adam noi um which is one of venom's uh
top muay thai guys from over in thailand in that area that we brought over to the league so that
is probably going to be the best striking um fight we've had in a very long time two guys who really go at it really go and if anybody's ever seen Arturo Vergara or Adam
Noy fight they know it's an amazing and exciting um they won't let us down and then the most
anticipated fight in karate combat's history ever um if somebody can correct me I'm pretty sure I'm
right on this there's never been a title fight that's been almost a year long wait um i think it's been a little over a year it's been a lot of back and
forth so shazay bren and louise ruga will finally be unifying the interim belt and the actual world
championship belt for the lightweight division and uh on july i want to say they're the 18th
i don't know for sure the dates but also this is not one event this is
karate combat 55 and 56 so instead of it being just 155 this is 55 and 56 so you get two totally
different shows you get two totally different press conferences you get two totally different
weigh-in shows it sounds like a lot of fuck ton work for me and the rest of my uh people on the
broadcast team but we love this type of shit.
I'm so happy that Karate Combat got this done.
It's been something that they've been working on for a very long time.
I've known about this for months, but haven't been able to really say anything.
So it's going to be massive.
July 18th, July 19th, four title fights.
Eight-man heavyweight tournament for the belt.
I mean, you can't beat it.
You can't beat it with a stick, dude.
If you're not out there July 18th and 19th, if you missed the 18th, come to the 19th. If you can't come to the 19th, come to the 18th. They're making it easy for you belt. I mean, you can't beat it. You couldn't beat it with a stick, dude. If you're not out there July 18th and 19th, if you missed the 18th, come to the 19th. If you can't come to
the 19th, come to the 18th. They're making it easy for you guys. And if you love both days,
just come. Stay, hang out the whole weekend. I'll be there. We're having fun. We're doing a bunch
of stuff. We'll party hard, and we're going to get it done, baby. So July 18th, July 19th,
Karate Combat 55, 56. You got to be there. It's going to be insane. History will be made.
If you're not in the building, then, hey, man, you lost out.
Me and Jack caught history last time. First heavyweight champion ever. We watched it happen in karate combat.
So you don't want to miss the next first belt being claimed come July 18th and 19th.
So that's it. That's all i got for you guys today man
i love you guys appreciate you all everybody who comes out every week man you guys are amazing
all the familiar faces down there the whole karate cartel jack appreciate you always doing a great
job hosting these things man and we're out of here let's go and look massive congratulations
to the team good luck on every from brother that sounds like a hectic week and yeah tiktok live
last time was a blast i hope you guys do something on that one guys catch you on the next one playing
this one out now Thank you.
