I think it's actual facts.
I think, I mean, I don't recall correctly with the other side,
but I know the board aides May 1st.
So, there'd be no Gaming Apes show without it.
We wouldn't be here today with these beautiful apes.
Did you guys see what happened this week?
I mean, it's been pretty wild.
Man, I was really looking forward to that Chain Monsters game.
And I saw, I don't know, I mean, I saw it had a mobile version and everything.
And then they just recently announced their pausing development.
This game looked pretty awesome.
I mean, it looked, it was like, it looks pretty well polished.
I don't know if you guys have seen that.
Is that a, it's a, it's on Google Play, you said, right?
It's got those Pokemon vibes.
No, you got me interested.
You said the magic word, Colby.
I mean, this game looked pretty good.
I'm surprised that they, I mean, it's got a, you know, I'm surprised that they paused it.
But, yeah, it's sad, sad to see.
I'm curious, you know, what happens?
So, I mean, this game looks like it's, you know, it's minted NFTs.
And now the developers have announced, you know, have officially announced they are pausing development of the game.
Is that a logo or is that?
I guess that's the main question, right?
If they sold them for, you know, obviously in refuse value and they didn't provide otherwise, then I would constitute that as a rug.
I mean, if it was a free mint, then, you know, it's still questionable because, you know, you know, people trade these things on the secondary market.
So, people are still using, you know, obviously they're still paying for these things on account that, hey, you know, the developers are going to provide something of value.
But, you know, that's probably a little less impactful than if they actually minted at a price.
Yeah, that is unfortunate.
I mean, obviously everyone involved, sorry to hear about this, especially if you've been keeping an eye on this game or if you, you know, got into it.
That's, yeah, that's sad.
Well, basically, I just read, you know, like, it's just, they're like, hey, listen, we got to go raise some money.
This is what it looks like.
So, I'm on the website and it says Epic Games.
Is this really Epic Games?
And does Epic Games have to raise some money?
Wait, are we looking at Chain Monsters?
Yeah, I'm on Chain Monsters.com, just the URL there.
It actually provides a Test Flight download link, which is pretty seamless, actually.
You hit the link and it just pops straight up in Test Flight and it says install.
Installed it, you know, tried to run it.
It says down for maintenance.
Obviously, I guess that means they're just, you know, killing it so you can't access it.
But, you know, it does say Epic Games there, but it seems a little odd because the website is pretty basic.
Like, maybe they were just letting you know that it's an Epic, it is an Epic game in their view.
So, Chain Monsters is being developed by B-Side Games.
And the game, they intended for the game to be playable on PC, Mac, Android, iOS, you know, and...
So, the platform, so if y'all go right on the website, it says Epic Games and then there's an iOS icon and an Android icon.
So, I guess what it means is, like, it's on the Epic Games platform.
So, you know, obviously, I guess they're trying to compete with Steam and having, like, a little game platform or whatever.
That makes more sense, but it is slightly misleading having it like that right there.
It's built with Unity when I launched it.
This is getting more confusing.
Wait, can you put Unity Games on the Epic Store?
So, this Pokemon-inspired play-to-earn game announced that they are going to pause development due to financial struggles and a disappointing land sale in March.
So, they're shutting down the game servers.
But, apparently, the team's backed up the game in account progress in case there's any hope for a future revival.
But, yeah, so far, it looks like they're pausing and shutting it down, which is unfortunately...
Yes, and it's made by B-side games.
I hope that the source codes and development is backed up and they don't just delete it and wipe it from existence.
And it looks like B-side games...
So, they've made some games in the past.
I was just checking them out.
I think I have it on my phone.
I haven't played it in a while, but...
Was that Apple Arcade, maybe?
It's also an Nintendo Switch.
Yeah, and these guys are based out of Singapore.
So, yeah, it's unfortunate.
Pema Studios launches a Web3 engine...
...to bring games to Cardano.
Is Cardano going to be the next...
...big thing for Deering?
Is that like a blockchain?
I thought that was the new chain...
I think that chain's very exciting...
I mean, Cardano has a pretty good, like...
...a pretty decent following, right?
They have a few NFT projects...
...the community is kind of, like...
...they have some good volume.
...the big news of the week.
The big news of the week, guys.
...he won't tell to you himself.
Superfine.org is live, guys.
Let's pump some hearts for our guy, Caldy, here...
...in the Superfine team.
...what's transpired here, too.
Again, one of the most humble builders in the space.
It's a huge, huge, huge week...
...head down, working on.
...with some awesome giveaways.
...on behalf of the rest of the Gaming Ape show.
And the people out here, man...
...really, really, really exciting.
Major congrats to you and the team, man.
I advise going through and listening to the Twitter space...
...and you kind of get to hear more...
...you know, from the man himself.
I mean, we're still making...
...obviously still up to...
...you know, these products...
...they never end, right?
But, yeah, we've been working pretty hard on this.
...appreciate the kind words.
And it's nice that we finally set this site live.
This is something a lot of people had asked for.
There's more updates coming to it as well.
Like, you'll be able to connect in...
...and start, like, disconnecting information...
...or, like, connecting information that you want to sync up.
And then you can just kind of, like...
...more easily just register for any of the...
...any of the giveaways and any of the...
The official platform for the Gaming Ape Show, giveaways.
So, again, definitely check that out.
And, again, congrats again, Caldy.
I'm not sorry for hijacking it here...
...this is a huge accomplishment in getting something live...
...and seeing it out of the open for the world to experience...
...is always an amazing feeling.
I mean, I'm stoked that we were able to finally get that out.
And, yeah, it was a lot of work...
...and, yeah, still a lot more work to go.
And I got to shout out, again, welcome to the Gaming Ape Show, guys.
I see some fam in the house.
Just got to say hi to the peeps.
Blub, Bri Bri, Blitz, Four Traps, Spider, Mr. Jane, Diablito, Amy.
Hey, new friends, welcome, everyone.
Welcome to the Gaming Ape Show.
Let's go, Gaming Ape Show.
How did I miss Blake and Richie?
Feeling good this week, my fellow apes.
Oh, Double, I know you and Met 11, you guys were...
You meant to the other side, right?
You guys had a funny story about...
A funny story about ramping up the gas and getting destroyed.
My buddy just had a kid, too.
Like, on the day of their wedding.
It was the day of the other side.
And I told him, I was like, listen, I got to bring my laptop to your wedding, man.
I'm going to sneak off to the side and see if I can mint some land.
And then went back in, went back in to hit the dance floor.
You know, I'm like, you know what?
It's just not meant to be.
Could have been a good thing there.
I was like, you know, fuck it.
But again, like, the effort was there.
I'm sure, again, everyone's got their own, like, ridiculous story for that.
If I'm going to be honest, obviously I wish that we did not win in that gas war.
Because it was quite a bit of gas.
But, you know, as Double said, it was super fun at the time.
For a little while after, you know, it was that.
If you incorporate the gas prices into, like, floor prices and everything.
It was still kind of comparable.
So, either way, it would have been fine.
But I think, you know, hindsight is 20-20 where it's like, oh, yeah, of course, over time, you know, this is going to be a long build-out.
And there's going to be times where, you know, kind of some of the hype wanes.
And then, you know, there's opportunity to pick these up, like, way cheaper, you know, on secondary.
But, you know, also, like, also, people tend to forget, like, at the time, why we were doing this, right?
So, like, putting up the two ETH to win the gas war to potentially pull a 20 ETH coda.
Or it was probably even more at the time, right?
You could say it was kind of worth it if you were taking the chance.
So, people kind of forget those things.
And then pulling, like, now you have the five-tier lands.
Now we're finding out that you can have up to, like, five vessels or marrows on top of the land.
So, like, in all the artifacts, right, like mecha artifacts, coda axes, all those things we were trying to obtain, right?
That's part of, like, the fun of minting out a project.
So, that's why people were kind of doing it, right?
And people kind of forget that and just say, hey, you know, it was a failure because people lost gas.
But, like, we were doing it for a reason, you know?
Yeah, I guess the story would have been different if we got ourselves a mega coda.
I don't know, I'm saying.
And some people did, right?
Yeah, kind of like when people go to Vegas and they hit that double zero, you know, obviously.
And it's obvious that, hey, the chances are slim and, you know, you wasted money.
But, you know, some people do hit that double zero.
And when they do, it's like, this was the best decision I ever made.
But these chances were actually pretty good, right?
And this time, like, remember, everything was about land drops.
Like, land was, like, land drops were the meta.
Like, you know, if your collection was doing a land drop, that was going to make some, you know,
there's going to be a lot of financial, like, opportunities there, right?
And so, with the other side doing this land drop, that was kind of like a big, you know,
So, there was so much, so much hype.
You know, imagine you're, you're, you know, in that collection and it's happening.
Like, I was going mental, so I can only imagine you guys are probably, same thing was happening.
Can't believe that was a year ago.
This industry moves so fast.
Yeah, it feels like a decade ago.
All right, maybe, maybe not.
Maybe it feels like three years.
No, a year, this is a big question, too, that we need to figure out right now.
How long, you know, how, like, seven dog years is, like, a human year?
How many, you know, NFT years is a real year?
Like, I used to, like, you're working in the space, you're in the space for one year.
What's that action feel like?
It just feels like, it feels like it.
Like, if I'm thinking about, like, when the board eight's minted, that feels like five years ago.
So, actually, so maybe it's not five.
It's probably, yeah, it's probably like two to one.
It's probably like three.
Three to one, yeah, yeah.
But, yeah, it cracks me up, like, how fast it is.
Like, even just, like, experience, right?
Like, just, like, job experience, work experience.
I feel like, seriously feel like a year has, like, been five years.
The bear market is kind of making it equal out, I feel like.
Like, I think during the bull market, it felt a lot longer.
But now it's feeling like it's catching up.
Yeah, slow, slow over the last however many, maybe year now.
Because I think everybody's waiting, you know, obviously, when things are shooting up and things are fun, you know.
You know, bring your theory of relativity in here or whatever.
You know, it seems like it's going quick, quick.
And then, man, those bear markets, they seem like they drag on forever.
But hopefully it'll flip up here soon.
I know we were talking about this, like, months ago.
Like, it's feeling like it's turning up, you know.
Like, and we're like, we think it's different this time.
And it's still kind of just sitting there.
Do you guys think in the next, with this next bull run,
is the hype going to come back to all these projects?
Are people going to come back and remember?
If it's up to Pepe, I say yes.
Pepe is bringing the bull market back.
But if Pepe fails, I think we're going,
it's almost like the groundhog today, right?
Like, if Pepe fails right now,
we may be in bear for much longer.
Did you guys get some Pepe coins?
Dude, don't even talk to me about it.
People are telling me to get in.
And then I saw people buying it, like, whatever.
It's like, how do you even call it?
I guess, like, I guess they're going by market cap, right?
So, it was at, like, what was it?
Like, 100 million market cap.
And people had already made a lot of money.
And I was like, oh, this is a rug.
And then I was going to get in.
So, I faded the whole way up.
And last night, I was even thinking about it.
I was like, let me just jump in.
And then I was like, you know what, right before I did it, I said, every time I do this,
I get killed in the morning.
Woke up this morning, and it's like 2, 3X from last night.
And I'm like, are you kidding me, dude?
So, I have no idea that this is, like, crazy.
It's like cheap, like, doge kind of thing.
But, no, I didn't get in.
Yeah, but it is going to dump.
You could think about it that way.
Or you could think about it like, hey, you kept thinking last night, and then today it
was 2, 3X, and you were like, okay, now is the time, because it's going to go 100X.
And then, you know, you could have also got dumped on.
It never seemed like the right time.
Somebody took out, like...
My shit coin days are over.
No, somebody took out, like...
Somebody dumped, like, 900 E at one shot, and it dumped all the way down.
And I was like, oh, it's over.
And then people just came and bought it right up.
I'm just going to keep saying, this time is different.
It's going to 2X from here, and then when I finally decide to pull the trigger, that's
when it's going to go to zero, basically what happens every time.
This time could be different.
But it is Pepe, you know, basically the number one meme in history.
So, that's going to bring us to the promised land.
That's what I'm going with.
What's the utility for this Pepe coin?
I mean, what if we can give rewards with Pepe inside games now, right?
So, we just need to build utility for it.
Do your own research here.
You can say the same thing for all coins, right?
Because that's what, you know, that's the whole point of Ape coin and all that is like,
hey, how many people can we get like accepting this in stores, building utility, you know,
doing this and that, you know, getting upvotes on the DAO so they can build stuff to accept
So, yeah, I mean, I guess, you know, all of these coins, Shiba, Doge, you know, they
don't really have any inherent utility besides the community that, you know, centers around
But, yeah, one of them could emerge to become something, you know, I don't even think Ape
is at that point yet, you know, even though like, oh, you know, Gucci accepts Ape, you
know, this and that, you know.
So, but somebody's going to, somebody's going to do it and it's going to break through.
It's going to happen eventually.
What do you think, what do you guys think is the best, I guess the best example of a
meme coin is still probably Doge, you think, right?
Or is there something bigger than that?
That's the number one meme coin, yeah, especially by market cap, right?
So, I think one thing people are trying to compare this to Doge and SHIB, but those are
listed on Coinbase, right?
And I remember like it was listed on Robinhood.
So, I don't think you can really compare it to those, but like, I don't think it's going
to get to that level of market cap as Doge or SHIB.
But, I mean, it is nice to see, you know, a little bit of bullishness going on.
Um, DGN bullishness, I guess, but I don't think it's going to get that hot.
I mean, how can you beat, how can you beat the meme coin that has, you know, the world's
richest man, you know, bag holding and pumping it?
Yeah, he literally changed the icon to Twitter.
Yeah, I don't know if, I don't know if there's, there's, he really kind of like, uh, jumped
in there and took the meme coin, meme coin game pretty quickly.
Um, you know, hats off to his, uh, cause it seems like he's been doing that with Doge for
a couple of years now and, you know, he's not letting up, you know, cause that thing where
he changed the icon was what literally just weeks ago, but he's been tweeting and pushing
Doge for probably a couple of years at this point.
So yeah, I mean, he must, I don't know.
I don't know what he's got with Doge.
Were you about to say shout out to his compliancy team or something?
Yeah, well, no, I was just saying like, you know, shout out to him for having so much conviction
for some reason on Doge where he just keeps pushing it for years and years, you know, regardless
Like, I don't know what he, who he really sees behind that, but, uh, it seems like he, uh,
He says he owns three tokens, right?
Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Doge.
I guess that's one thing like negative about Dogecoin is like the top, I don't know what,
how many wallets, how much supply they actually own in those wallets.
So he's probably one of them.
Um, like there's a huge allocation to a small amount of wallets on Doge.
That's like, like astronomic, right?
So, uh, very concentrated at the top.
That's all, that's all Elon, right?
I guess the difference with SHIB is that it's an ERC 20, right?
And, um, Dogecoin is basically like, uh, a, uh, fork of big, uh, Bitcoin or Litecoin.
So it's kind of different.
So this, this may like compete with SHIB, I think, but I don't think it can compete with,
Dogecoin is like the Bitcoin of meme coins.
Now they're fighting for like the ERC 20 side, I guess.
Which, which actually begs the question too, is like, if we're looking back to kind of
how Bitcoin arrived, like all of the competitors that have just tried to beat Bitcoin at its
own game, you know, they, they kind of fail, right?
Like the ones that have really broken out, uh, are ones that, you know, uh, thrive in a
different space, like Ethereum, where we have smart contracts and that branches off into DeFi,
NFTs, all this kind of other stuff, you know, and then you have all the guys that are trying
to like be the next Ethereum and we'll, we'll see kind of how that plays out, but I don't see
So, you know, I guess if, you know, I don't know, Pepe, I guess, yeah, you say it, uh, you know,
is, is just trying to be the next meme coin, you know, without any kind of different play,
you know, that, that might not work out too well if they're just kind of trying to be
So, you know, I wonder if they have another play there, another angle, uh, of what this,
you know, could push into or what this could be, or like the vision of, of this coin.
I, I, uh, personally didn't get any and I don't think, um, I think I'm, I'm okay with,
with my risk exposure to Doge already need any more meme coins in my, in my portfolio.
But yeah, I mean, like you can't take that too seriously, right?
Like, it's just kind of, but I don't know.
I feel like if any meme coins do well, maybe Doge will, probably has the best potential
given that Elon, Elon's always talking about it.
Um, but yeah, I don't know, but there's Pepe.
It's, it's, it's purely, it's purely, there's, there's nothing there then, right?
It's purely like, this is all speculation and there's no, no, like announced utility for
It's just meme coin at its, you know, worst again.
This is meme coin at its finest.
Have you guys ever watched the, the Pepe documentary?
It's actually pretty interesting.
Um, so yeah, I'm rooting for Pepe, you know, like the creator of Pepe, like all the stuff
that happened on 4chan, how I got like used for negativity.
Have you watched the, that documentary?
You have to check it out.
Cause if you do, then you're going to be on Pepe's side.
Like there's a lot of emotion on this meme.
There's a lot attached to it.
So is it created, is the creator involved in this?
No, but I was, that's what I was asking.
And someone was showing me that he was like tweeting his, so he's done a few NFT drops.
So I feel really bad for the guy, right?
Like he created this character and he actually created like comic books.
He had this whole thing and it just got taken on 4chan and huge 4chan.
And used on like as a meme, right?
Without his, you know, knowledge or whatever.
And he's been trying to get it back.
Like he's been going to court and he's been trying to take over the character back.
He dropped his own like NFT projects.
And, um, you know, he can't get control of it basically.
He's not behind it, but I saw a few tweets where he, he like retweeted the coin and then
dropped his, like his, um, his project on OpenSea, like the link to his project under
So I think he's kind of like okay with it, but he's not like behind it.
Well, I mean, that's, that's awesome that he's okay with it.
I wonder if maybe he's, uh, incentivized somehow.
Yeah, his product is trending, I think, in like OpenSea, so he's probably making some,
Every, everyone's bringing the attention, all eyes on Pepe.
Um, well, it's cool that he benefits from that.
Are you, are you, are you, uh, paying attention to the project or is it, is it, is he like,
I was just, but I like, I do like Pepe.
Like, I do like the, um, the project he dropped and I really like this other character that,
that he made in the Pepe story, like Pepe's other friends.
I don't know if you guys have seen those, but like there's weird characters.
I like those guys a little bit as well.
I wish he would kind of like develop it more, but I don't know.
He's got the momentum now.
He may as well like lean into it.
I mean, no, no, I think you're spot on that, that, you know, for the right person, that
could be a great game opportunity too.
For the right person that works with, works with that IP.
Um, but yeah, I, I think that's, I think you're right.
That's, um, I'm, I like Pepe.
I think everyone's probably been exposed to Pepe, right?
It's probably like the number one thing we all have in common is having seen a Pepe meme
Um, I guess the problem is it does, it does have like some negative, what's the word?
Like it's kind of negative in certain aspects.
So it's not like the cute dog sheave and like Doge dog.
I don't think it's going to get like the broad audience because it's very niche and it does
have like that negative side to it.
So I don't know, but yeah, definitely opportunities to be made here in the space, but you'd love
Do you say negative because it's, it's, it's used to do like, like, uh, negative things?
Well, it was used like, I don't know when we talk about it, but it was used like in a negative way,
like political reasons and stuff like that.
If you watch the documentary, you could really understand what happened.
It has to do like Trump and all that stuff and all that politic, political stuff and
all that crazy stuff that was going on, but.
I didn't know it had any, I didn't know Pepe and Trump are related.
I'm going to have to check this documentary out.
I'll get the title of it.
It's called feels good, man.
Um, you can get out on prime.
I'm excited to check this documentary out.
Let's get back to gaming.
Squiddy, where are you at, man?
I'm in Miami, doing our, doing our thing, trying to build the future of gaming here
with Champions Ascension.
Um, trying to use, you know, do what we do.
Use Superfine to help grow the shit.
Like, you know, we're here, man.
It's a big week for Champions Ascension as well.
Um, really big week for Champions Ascension this week as we, we, we got the free for all
up and running for the first time, which was a lot of fun.
Um, yeah, it was, uh, just, just, just a lot of, a lot of fun here.
I'm going to tag, I'm going to post my guy, Blue Mojo.
Awesome Champions creator in the house.
But yeah, 15, 15 people go into the arena and, uh, only one comes out a winner.
So, uh, there's certain things you can set traps, like when you're dead, try and come
So you're not like fully out of it.
Uh, it's just, it's a, a lot, a lot, a lot of fun.
So it's another step in the building of the greatest game to ever be created.
Um, yeah, man, it's just, we continue, we continue to go.
So again, like, just like, you know, just like Pepe, you're going to keep going up if
And as long as Double doesn't, as long as Double doesn't grab a, uh, uh, a Prime Eternal,
I think we're in, I think we're in a good spot.
I think we're in a good, we're in a good place.
Um, that was a lot of fun, man.
I see what won a couple of times.
I saw he won like at least two or three times.
I was just, it's so hectic.
It was just a lot of action and it's really fun.
And it's just, again, another example of how crazy, how crazy this game is, how crazy this
And just like, again, these are all player owned assets.
That's so really, really cool stuff.
That was really, that was really big.
I really liked the mechanic where you can come back to life.
If you set a trap and you're still engaged.
You're still engaged after, after you get, of course, again, you could very easily tune
out, check your text messages, right?
Like, uh, do your thing while waiting for the next battle.
But if you still want to be engaged and check it out, there's an option for it too.
I really, really love that part about it.
That, that one is really, really cool.
Um, yeah, I've, I've never, I've never really been engaged.
I'm, I'm so used to like, after, after you die in like, you know, a game, like, I don't
know, like any kind of game, like camera strike or something, you're kind of sitting out, you're
watching the other players, but in this, you're like, it continues to engage you and everyone
else that's been knocked out to try to get back in.
It's a, and then it's, and then when you get a chain reaction going, so when there's
like a lot of people that have like, that are, that are spirits or ghosts or whatever,
and they, and they all chain, like trap the, the, you know, whoever you pick, there's
like a social element to it as well.
Because no one was picking, no one was getting Siwu.
He's like, he's like the, uh, you know, he, he, he's no one, you know, everyone is
So no one was trying to get them.
But if they see like KG or someone, one of these guys, everyone's like going after him.
So there's like the social element, like, who do you pick?
I thought that was pretty cool.
I had a really, really fun, really fun stuff.
So we're going to keep it rocking too.
Again, rumor has it, there might be a little WASDE tournament cooking up.
I'm going to draw some out of here too.
That one, you know, that could be, that could be electric, um, in champions as we continue
to grow and build and be the game, the game of gamers, man.
Um, dude, the, the WASDE tournament, little, little teaser.
Maybe someone can get double to, to play for him.
Double, you'll have to participate in the WASDE tournament.
We'll just let me know when it is, but.
Get a professional gamer in there too.
That'll really up the profile of the tournament.
We have Google calendars, double, so we can, we can add it.
We'll add it, we'll add it to our Google calendar.
I mean, I mean, I'm such a boom.
She tells me, she tells me what to do.
She tells me where to be.
Without her, I'm nothing.
I got so many Google calendars.
Like all these different emails.
Yeah, yo, when you get the calendars mixed up too, and you go to one when you're looking
Well, that's going to be, that's going to, yeah.
So, I guess it's, I don't know if we can say the date yet, but yeah, we do have something
I say we can say the date too.
I don't think it's going to kill any surprise.
We can still surprise it in hyphen.
Yeah, it's, I guess it's May 20th, right?
That's what it's looking like.
That's what it's looking like.
So, get the rumblings here going too.
Keep an eye out for some sign up.
But, yeah, some alpha on the Gaming Ape show.
Yeah, this could be the biggest.
We can get the alpha here.
I'm excited for this one.
I'm going to be playing for sure.
I'm very excited about it.
So, this tournament system has been great, right?
It's been a, you've had how many tournaments so far?
There's at least, I participated in at least two or three.
Yeah, I've, I have not been in any because as a, as a team member, I just don't feel like
Although, it wouldn't really matter because I'd get my ass kicked anyway.
But, especially two popular ones where, you know, there's an overflow of people.
If there's some, you know, maybe I'll hop into one if there's like a mega tournament and we don't fill up all the spots.
And I'll play just to like get involved.
But I'm either like helping commentate it or just like participating in it, right?
Because again, these tournaments are not for me.
It's for the, you know, I am part of the community.
It's for the, it's for the people.
Or I could go the other way.
I could go the other way and say, you know what?
I am really, really, really, really ridiculously good and amazing and the best.
But I'm just not going to show any of you guys ever.
So, you guys are just going to have to take my word for it.
I would never lie to you guys.
It just makes me feel all queasy.
We f*** you in battle, Squiddy.
We know your skill level.
I love, I love seeing Squiddy in battle.
Whenever, whenever I see you, Squiddy, I just go right towards you.
I'm taking this, I'm taking this guy down.
I'm taking this guy down.
I need the bragging rights.
Three, would you say you're, do you have the most fun in 3v3?
Or would you say this, this F, this big 15, 15 character free-for-all was, is your favorite experience so far?
Because it's only had, like, one time to check it out.
Yeah, I think I like the free-for-all.
Because, again, like, I'm not very good.
So I like more ways that I can kind of, like, hide or make an impact.
Just, like, fun ways to go about it.
You know, sometimes I like to watch.
So I think the 15, you know, I'm always a big fan of the shiny new toy.
The free-for-all is a lot of fun.
I mean, it's like you're in the, you're in, like, a gladiator arena.
Like, everyone's, like, fighting all around you.
You're trying not to get hit.
Definitely a different experience.
It's 3v3, it's more like, you know, it's your team versus their team.
And right off the bat, you start attacking each other, right?
With the free-for-all, you can kind of try to at least hide in the beginning.
Or you can jump into, like, a big brawl.
You know, it's totally up to you, right?
And then you see the, like, the death quarters is open.
A new part of the open world kind of opened up, which I did not even notice.
Oh, I didn't even see that either.
I'm going to get a, I'm going to pinch something here.
But it was, uh, pretty crazy.
So, it's like a new part of the map?
Is this for the death faction?
Oh, I gotta, I gotta find it.
Oh, uh, Wet and Wild actually has the, the content from it.
So, I gotta find the, uh, the Wet and Wild post.
So, I guess this, is this the dedicated quarter for where, where Squiddy will be?
I know you're a big death faction guy.
I am a big house of death guy.
Um, so, it's looking like it's going to be spending some quality time there.
Some good QT in the death quarter.
Is that, so, you can do, like, guild meetings and stuff there?
Yeah, I'll be having, I'll be having some super secret squiddy meetings back there.
Um, it'll be very important stuff.
Um, I can't, I can't find the, can't find the message, but I'll pin it when I find it.
Now I've got a challenge.
And, uh, what's, what's new in the world of Metal Lovin?
Metal Lovin, how you been, man?
And what's, any, any new games that you're excited for?
Reminiscing on the old other side?
You know, just a little bit of this, a little bit of that.
I did want to bring up, uh, one thing, though.
Um, uh, a couple months ago, we, um, talked about on this call.
I remember Mythical, so Blankos, Block Party, and all that.
And I think on the call, we had mentioned, uh, the, the football game.
So after that, you know, I'm a big Miami Dolphins fan, so I went, at the time, uh, they were
minting, like, these helmets.
Um, you know, obviously I jumped in to waste my money on those because I wanted to, to see
what it was all about and get access to their beta and everything.
And it was cool, actually, right?
So it was a cool game, and I was like, okay, whatever.
You know, I just paid Ethereum to jump into the beta test here and whatever.
So forget about it for a couple of months, and it looks like they actually released that
game on the App Store, uh, and they were pushing it this weekend.
It got up as high as number three in the charts.
Um, I think they did a burst type thing because for a couple days it was climbing, hit number
Now it's down to 19, but, uh, but yeah, I was talking to Double about it this weekend, and
we were playing, and it's a cool little game, and so, um, the interesting thing to me is
I cannot figure out if they're, like, because I hadn't looked at it for a couple months, I
can't figure out the NFT connection here.
So it looks like they built the game just to be a game.
So if you download it, it's just your regular IAP, uh, free to play, um, with the robust
in-app purchase economy, it's actually a fun game, uh, and it's NFLPA, so they actually
have, um, NFL players in it, uh, which is cool, right?
You get cards for players, and then you could equip those players on your team, and then
you could play out your season.
Uh, it is surprisingly fun.
So I'm trying to figure out where these, uh, you know, these helmets or whatever come into
play, you know, that I have.
They're actually still minting them even right now, uh, but it's way cheaper to buy them on
secondary, so, you know, the whole NFT aspect is a little suspect there, um, but, uh, I
thought it was interesting because, hey, this is started out as a Web3 game, uh, or, you
know, as the basis of Web3, and it's a Web3 company with, uh, Mythical and, uh, pushing up
the top charts here, uh, but it's looking like right now the game is just your regular
free-to-play, um, you know, game, but, you know, it's doing well, people are playing it,
it's a fun game, so, uh, would love to see how they're going to actually end up incorporating
those elements into this, I guess, once they start building their player base and building
this out similar to a Web2 game, right?
So, uh, that, that was interesting, uh, but check it out, it's, uh, it's there on the
store, and, um, yeah, it's, uh, it's just interesting to follow.
No, I'm glad you mentioned that.
I also downloaded it, too.
Um, I saw it was number one in action, and, um, so I downloaded it, I guess, while they
were doing their burst campaign, and, yeah, I haven't, I haven't checked out, I didn't,
couldn't tell what the NFT integration was, so I'm glad you mentioned that.
There's none right now, right?
So, I went on the website, and nothing has changed, so, I saw a press release where they
said something about, hey, we're going to give value to the Rarity League helmet holders,
I don't know how it all works, but, um, you know, I'm, I'm curious to see if they're actually
going to pursue that, or if the game is successful, it makes money, it does well as a Web2 game,
and then, so we know, like, when that happens, uh, they just rake in boatloads of IEPs, you
know, especially having, like, real NFL players and everything, so I'm, I'm kind of really curious
to see if they stick to that kind of core Web3, like, how this was intended to be, or
if they just, like, see those dollar signs if the game is doing well, and be like, yeah,
we're just kind of going to push away from that, and continue on this path that brings, you
know, the traditional revenue in, so, I don't know, I'm kind of, uh, you know, kind of,
uh, just torn on what they're, they're going to end up doing, to be honest, right, obviously,
I want them to push into that, and they'll have three stuff being kind of a holder and
all of that, but, uh, but yeah, we'll see.
Yeah, also, when, you know, when you think of NFL games, you, you think, like, top and up
NFL games, you think, you know, like, you guys remember Madden, uh, 2K, um, you think
of these, like, kind of, like, high-fidelity games, so I'm, I was surprised when this, this
one's kind of, like, feels more hyper-casual to me than, uh, you know, like, the mechanic
was, like, pretty, pretty easy to play.
I, I thought it was pretty fun, um, yeah, it's very fun, it reminded me a little bit,
uh, with IAPs and an economy of Retro Bowl, I don't know if you guys saw that one, but,
uh, during football season, it's always in the top charts, it's a hyper-casual type game,
uh, even more hyper-casual than this one, it's got, like, a little economy and stuff, but it's,
like, a player-manager, and you play similar controls, I think, last year, not this past season,
but the season before, I saw it because it actually hit number one, um, uh, like, overall,
uh, you know, right before football season started, and I was, like, hey, what's this
game, you know, kind of, the look kind of reminds you of, uh, if you take it way back,
the, uh, Super Tecmo Bowl or whatever, because it's Pixel and whatever, but, yeah, I downloaded
that, and it's super fun, like, super, super fun, so I still play that one every now and
then, and this one is kind of reminding me of that, even, so.
Wow, Tecmo Bowl, I remember that game, yeah, that was a lot of, yeah, it does get, it does
kind of remind me of, uh, remind me of that, too, um, yeah, fun game, that's cool, I'm excited,
I'm, I'm planning, excited to see what the NF, uh, NFT integration's gonna be, be interesting
I mean, they, they must have a lot of licensing fees for the NFL IP, too, right?
Right, yeah, I don't know how, I mean, for sure they would have to, I guess, right?
Yeah, yeah, it's gonna, but, yeah, I mean, it's funny that you said that, right, because,
like, at that point, if you could actually create, like, um, like a game, a traditional
game at that scale, why would you even need to add the complexity of the NFTs, it's almost
like, you know, it's kind of okay to me if you use the NFTs as a way to, like, raise capital,
build it out, things like that, and then somehow, but somehow you have to drive the, continue to
drive the, um, value back to those NFT holders.
So maybe it's, like, doesn't necessarily need to be in the game, but as a, the game is successful,
somehow, you know, maybe those, those, those assets become more valuable or something.
Yeah, so, well, I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up dropping that, to be honest, um,
and I wouldn't, I wouldn't blame them either, but, uh, but the NFT piece of it looks like it's,
um, didn't actually do so well, to be honest, and that's how they started this whole thing,
um, you know, uh, I know because I went and bought, and so I went and bought, I think they
had a thousand or two thousand helmets or something for every, for every, um, team,
uh, a couple are minted out, um, but for instance, uh, I bought a Miami Dolphins helmet,
and I minted it off of the website, you know, um, and I checked the other day, and it was still
like, and this is months ago, right, there's still like 700 something left to mint,
and so, you know, obviously, I go, and the mint price is still something like 0.14, uh, but on
secondary, on OpenSea, it's 0.03, so it's, it's literally to the point where, you know, there's
no use to mint any new ones on the website, but the supply is still open and flowing, uh, and then
the OpenSea price is already on an 80% discount or whatever, so, you know, let's just say, you know,
they did not bring in a lot of money from that mint, but, you know, the game looks like it could
convert a good amount of IAP, so, you know, like I said, you know, I wouldn't fault them if the game,
you know, obviously did well in this Web 2 space, and they just fell into something that, you know,
that maybe they weren't expecting or accustomed to that's going to do well, and, you know, has all
this NFL licensing, and then just say, you know what, we're just going to drop this piece,
it's added complexity, that's literally going to add no value to this game, uh, and that's just
looking at it at a, um, you know, looking at it at a, uh, in a business perspective, right, not,
not me being a holder and wanting them to, like, just kill every, all the, like, just stop the
open men and just start driving value for, you know, for holders, right, which is what I would
prefer, but, you know, I don't really see that happening, but, uh, I got my eye on it, so we'll see.
Yeah, I mean, it's, it's interesting because if you think about, there's been a few different
NFL games, um, and I would, I would be awesome if you could own your character because, you
know, across all of them, right, with blockchain, um, I wonder if the NFL, you know, that could
really, maybe really help, you know, cause it'll be, cause there's a lot of games, right,
that, that, that will want to use NFL, um, but I'm pretty sure, like, they won't all, it
won't all be from one source, like, I'm pretty sure they all have their, like, they'll have
like a license agreement with NFL, each game will do its own kind of character, um, but
unless this was, I mean, what happens if this was, like, the only game, right, only blockchain
game, um, and so if, like, you know, Madden or any of these other games wanted to have a
blockchain element, um, yeah, I don't think, I don't think it would, they would probably come
up with their own version of the, of, of a character, I'm assuming.
I got a, I bought a pack on draft day to check it out, um, so now I haven't explored the
NFT side of it, again, I'm a football guy, um, the guy who actually, guy who hired me at
Jam City is over at Mythical, um, so I, I bought, bought a pack to check it out, it's a, it's
a fun little game, so I have to see how it goes and maneuvers, um, it will be interesting
to see how that, how that translates when it's all kind of like, you know, they've done a
pretty good job making it, you know, I haven't really dove, dove into the specifics of how
open the, the ecosystem is, but, yeah, a chance to check out, check out the game, almost like
Yeah, it was pretty fun, it was pretty fun, I'm, you should check it out, yeah, I, I was,
I was really surprised at how easy it was to play.
I gotta get the running down, the passing I'm nice with, the running, the running, the
running is lacking for me, yeah, yeah, you never get any yards, so it doesn't make sense
yeah, you gotta, you're really gonna have to Andy Reid, they'll mail, they'll air mail
There's a couple things they could definitely tighten up, like the, the juking and all that,
like, I don't, like in some games, like when you're playing, like the traditional games,
and even in this retro bowl game, which is like a perfect game, so definitely check that
If you're looking for just easy, hyper-casual mechanics, they have it nicely tuned up, but
yeah, the juking doesn't really do much either, in my opinion, and so, and sometimes when you're
running full speed, it still feels like it's just in slow motion, just like you're trying
to pull away from someone's, a couple little things, but, you know, I think there's definitely,
definitely some potential there.
I think, I think, I'm starting to think like, well, let me just stay positive, yeah, let
me just, I think it's good, it's a, it's a good game, but yeah, like you said, I think
it can be polished a bit better on the gameplay side, but, yeah.
One thing I was gonna say though, this kind of reminds me of like, the point I was making,
a similar point with that dead drop game, right?
Like, it started off as an NFT game, right?
It has like, that big YouTuber behind it, Dr. Disrespect, and it started off as an NFT
game, but now the game has kind of hit, to me, a level of success, where I believe like,
it can become like a huge, like, game on its own without having NFTs, and now I feel like
I'm almost on the same, I feel like it's on the same trajectory as this game, where it's
like, okay, they've made success in a traditional game, maybe they'll just kind of like, back
away from that, and just continue with like, in-app purchases, because now you have an element
of like, you know, these NFTs, that's like real money gaming, and you know, people are
cheating, and this whole thing just adds more complexity, and the regulations behind it,
and you have this game that's actually gotten some steam on like, YouTubers, and everything,
and like, why not just like, go the traditional route, now that you've got that, like,
you know, you've got that scale, so I don't know.
Yeah, no, I think, I think that's going to be an interesting one to watch, an interesting
Yeah, it doesn't need the NFT element to be successful.
I think these are the games, ultimately, that are going to, you know, increase
adoption for blockchain, for sure, that, I guess, and the question is, always, is it going
to come back to kind of like, is, will, will it come back to the collection somehow, like
all of this, all these projects and collections that have been working, you know, will they
still stay, you know, will they remain relevant?
And, I think that's, that's an interesting question.
That is interesting, for sure, and just a final thought on that, it's like, you know, I think
that's kind of the trouble, you know, obviously, we, this is a Web3 Gaming, you know, show,
and we are generally bullish on Web3 Gaming, and, you know, we're talking about all the
things that could be, but, you know, there's, there's the other side to it as well, is like,
trying to be critical and figure out how it can work and how it can break through, because
there are a lot of things that go against it, right, especially with, you know, this
whole mindset of, yeah, you got to make a real good game, and then, but then something
happens where it's like, okay, well, then when you do make a real good game, you know,
is the Web3 aspect, you know, needed anymore, or is it even worth the hassle anymore, with
kind of the level of adoption, with the money that it can bring in, and all of that, it's
almost like Web3 is like this hype process, where they use it for fundraising and community
building, but it's just kind of, you know, when you're able to actually make a game, like,
the real money is actually coming in from the sales, and the IPs, and the DLC, and whatever,
and it's almost like, you know, there's a business case to then cut that piece out somehow,
right, and so, and that's what we always kind of talk about in different facets, you know,
and we're, you know, looking for the person, or the team, or the studio, or the visionary
that's going to actually break through and make it all work somehow, right, you know, if it
was easy, you know, it would be all over the place already, and it would be mainstream and
all of that, but, but, but it's not, right, so.
I feel like, I feel like NFTs are, in a way, blockchain for modern businesses are kind of
like what, what coupons were for, for companies like, you know, 100 years ago.
So, um, the first coupon that was ever used was by Coca-Cola, and they had these handwritten
coupons to get, like, free, to get a free Coke bottle, um, and, you know, later this
was used to kind of, like, track if, you know, a customer had made a purchase, um, and even
until, like, 100 years ago, people would be able to track this stuff, uh, to a fraction
of, of a penny, you know, the cost it would, it would, it would, it would take to have a
And now, like, blockchain and, like, NFTs are kind of, and then, you know, people, I
don't know if, like, you know, people used to, you know, collect these coupons, and there's
this, like, you know, everyone has coupons, right, and saving coupons, and, like, NFTs kind
It's like, now everyone's collecting, kind of, like, NFTs, and these, you know, are kind of,
like, it's kind of like a digital coupon in the same way, right, because it's used to
track all your behavior, but to a degree, like, that we never thought was possible
before, um, because it's all on chain, uh, and it's immutable.
So, I think we're just kind of, like, getting started, but, like, all the stuff that you could
do with this is just, we just never thought it was possible before.
And so, it's like a new age.
I think a lot of, a lot of things are going to change, um, and yeah, we don't know, like,
it's going to take these games that will succeed with, with or without it, right?
Um, the blockchain element isn't, you know, shouldn't, shouldn't be the determining factor
of whether or not a game, any game is successful.
Um, but yeah, this, it reminds me a lot of coupons, I don't know, like, a hundred years
