We'll be right back. That's you. All right. And we gon' think about the night. So, ma. What's up? That's sly.
And we gon' get it on the night.
Now it's downtown clubbing, ladies night.
Seen shorty, she was crazy, right?
And I approached baby like, ma, what's your aging type?
She looked at me and said, you's a baby, right?
I told her, I'm 18 and live a crazy life.
Plus, I tell you what the 80s like.
And I know what the ladies like.
Need a man that's polite, listens and takes advice. I could be all three. Plus, I can lay
the pipe. Come with me, come stay the night. She looked at me laughing, like, boy, your game is
tight. I'm laughing back, like, sure, you're right. Get in the car and don't touch nothing.
Sit in the car. Let's discuss something. either we loving or I'll see you tomorrow.
Now we speeding up the west side, hand creeping up a left side.
I'm ready to do it, ready to boom, ready for dome, 55th exit, damn, damn, already we home, now let's get it on.
Hey mom, what's up? Let's slide. Alright.
Nice. We smoke. I smoke. I drink. Me too.
We're good. We gon' get it, we smoke, I drink, we go good, we gon' get it hot enough, got you, alright, we gon' take a bottle now, so mom, let't stop fraying, on that Dave Hosta tip
Come over, let's smile and sip, I'm like, mama is sick, I promise you thick
Usually I have a problem with chicks, they all say I'm rotten and rich
But now her boobies real, high heel to be filled
Plus got them Gucci nails, huh, you a cutie still
And this my damn girl too, ain't no groupie deal
We left the movies with Uzi, Suzuki wheels
To the jacuzzi, I tell you my boobies real
I mean she do be winnin', Louie spinnin'
Go to the crib, she got the Gucci linen
I see boobie grinnin', she look to set cam
I know that you be sinnin', nah, I'm a changed man
Look at the range, man, I got a whole new game plan. Look, it said that's nothing but game cam. She was right. She was up in the range, man. Dropped her off at the L. Now I'm flipping the cell. That's right. I had to call up L. Yo, L. What up? I hit. What else? Plus don't. And we got it on the night.
Yo, what's up, everybody?
What a beautiful day today.
Incredible time to be here on Spaces, guys.
We still have two more minutes of intro, so drop a GM in the comments.
Follow the Ape NFTs on ApeChain, so we will pick five of you.
We'll pick five of you from the retweets, guys.
And let's enjoy such a nice day.
Oh my God, Spark Ball, Insomnia.
It's gonna be crazy, guys.
So two more minutes of intro.
Let's go. Uh, ha, ha, ha.
Uh, on your mark, ready, set, let's go.
Dance for a bro, I know, you know.
I go psycho when my new joint hit.
Now, honey, honey, come ride.
T-K-M-Y, all up in my eye eye You gotta, ride a bag with a lot of stuff in it
Give it to your friend, let's spin
Everybody looking at me, glancing a kid
Wishing me was dancing a jig, here with this handsome kid
Sick a cigar right from QBQ bar, I just bite it
Just for the look, I don't light it
It'll wake the air, they on the hands, they're home plate
Give it up, jiggy, make it feel like a boy
Yo, my cardio is infinite, ha ha Big Willie Stiles all in it I I'm a couple of times in the middle of the club with the Let's go, everybody.
I also just saw that FIFA Rivals just released their game.
So, guys, 2025 is in the name of Web3 Gaming.
And this is Grateful Show 376.
We have such an amazing, amazing guest here on stage.
Can't wait to talk to you today.
Before I do, of course, I have to say hi to Tino.
I saw the video from the NFT or Ape, man.
I always mess it up with the name.
Ape Street Gallery, right?
So what's the name? Grateful, what's the name Ape Street Gallery, right? How are you doing? So what's the name, Grateful, what's the name?
Oh man, it's like Ape Street Gallery, I would say.
Let's go, Ape Street Gallery, Prague, baby.
Yeah, GM, GM guys, all good from my side.
Super excited, had a great day today,
but the weather is finally nice over here too.
So we can enjoy a little bit of the summer weather.
Super excited about the show.
I've been going through the gameplay,
collecting some NFTs also on ApeChain.
There's a free claim on um the alpine
f1 team you can claim another free nft uh which is great this one this poster is from canada
uh also exploring somnia they just reached or not just i think on 29th of may they reach
1 billion transactions on the on the blockchain which is. Checked also what Garga said yesterday,
because Wednesdays are usually for other sites,
so there were a few interesting announcements in the Discord
about resources, also about, you know,
more info should come this month.
So, yeah, I think everything's coming together, man.
Like, we see games that are onboarding
and bringing more players into the Web3
and players might not have even idea
that they are playing like Web3 game
or a game that is backed on blockchain, right?
Which is probably the right way how to do that.
So yeah, that, you know, Stripe also acquired the preview
if I'm pronouncing that correctly, which is huge, huge accomplishment.
And also I've been farming the OpenSea XP.
So, yes, so much stuff is happening in the space.
It's funny, as you talk about the other side, we went to the Forbes conference yesterday.
It was pretty wild right it was it was uh really cool and
uh i talked to a guy who i was working with uh during the bull bull market in the middle of the
bull market uh i i would say 2022 uh he was doing something for my brand uh with uh like
ar filters but what they were also doing as a studio, they were doing a lot of collections and clothing and stuff like that for metaverses back then.
And they were among the first ones who came out with an idea that you basically put it into one place and it will make all the formats for all the metaverses, so-called metaverses back then.
And it's so funny, I saw three three years ago right and i saw him after quite some time and i was asking how they are
doing and he said a pretty smart thing that they did that uh everybody was uh back then uh they
they also had an offer uh from uh from a vc firm and uh they they actually declined and they decided that then they started seeing the decline and everything.
So they decided at that time, because it's not their main thing, they have animation studio,
so they decided at that time to pause the kind of metaverse division so-called.
And basically right now what they are doing, they are slowly kind of preparing to see whenever something is coming,
whenever something is ready for takeoff instantly, basically.
And I found it very smart because most of the other studios that raise a lot of money,
many of them do not exist anymore or they just
wasted all that money because in the bear market, nobody really cared about metaverse experiences.
So I think they did a pretty smart thing. And as we could see, we could have seen in 2021, 2022,
those who were ready, who had some kind of infrastructure ready or who were devs,
who knew how to program and were doing smart contracts, they were fast to deploy something,
they were fast to launch. And I think this is exactly alpha. And I just wanted to say it out
loud because it made me think that this is actually a pretty smart
move and i believe also what all of us and all the legends in the audience as well uh are doing
here that during the bear market we are basically kind of building the infrastructure whenever we're
ready to to blast ready for the moon i think uh it will be easy to plug the pieces together and put the missing pieces of puzzle.
At least I see it that way, what do you think?
Yeah, I think in gaming, you know, maybe you don't need market, like you don't need a market to actually bring a fun game into the market
and you know, if the blockchain is just the tech behind uh definitely can't wait to talk about it today because man if you have game the game has to be
fun right that's probably the most important thing we saw so many games back in the day
where people were just farming some stuff and after the farm ended the game ended with that right so
what i see right now is that there are so many amazing games that are fun
and they are coming to like Web3, right?
So I think that's a huge game changer compared to 2021 when I was clicking some.
Man, I don't remember that game.
I think at one point I was just clicking and it gave me like $500 a day
So, and then no one played that game anymore.
So I think the approach to have a fun game is really important.
I wanted to mention one more thing because I see Lorelord in the audience.
Guys, you know that Coinbase had a leak and a lot of data and a lot of customer data uh were stolen right and scammers
started calling people uh i think mostly in us because i didn't i didn't receive any call
not people here in czech republic i talked to many and none of them actually got got a call
but he was hacked through this damn call.
You know, they social engineering, man, you know, they have time.
They spend a lot of time to figure out how to do that.
And be careful, like, don't trust anyone on phone,
especially with the time of AI.
Like, don't trust anyone on phone.
It's crazy to see these hacks.
I really hope that coinbase will
try to sort it out somehow uh because it always sucks when people lose money uh during these hacks
you know i was also i was in a in a stream drop uh discord and i was asking question because stream
drop is not working for me and immediately some MFR dropped a link
for customer support and I know
this scam. You click on it and it
opens a new Discord server
for you and then they try to get
a seed phrase from you or they
push you to click some link.
It's crazy space. So be very careful
guys. Don't click any links.
Don't trust anyone on phone. If you are not sure, don't do it. It's crazy space. So be very careful, guys. Don't click any links. Don't trust anyone on phone.
If you are not sure, don't do it.
Okay, I'll bring Captain here also.
I really, really hope that Lorelord will get his funds back.
Be careful because this is always scary.
Do you have anything to add to this, man?
Yeah, I appreciate you having me up.
I won't take much because I know it's probably not the topic of the conversation.
So I'll get out of the way and let you get your guests here and the rest of your show. Just adding to that, I almost got got recently as well in Telegram.
And it was a similar to what you described.
But the scenario was it was an issue with a claim.
And the admin account responded, the actual like official admin account of the team.
And then that admin account dm me
shortly after about the same time i got another dm from an account that looked identical
and you know helping me solve my problem it was a spoof of the admin account and like i didn't
catch it at first i interacted i talked back forth i actually even clicked the link fortunately as
soon as i clicked the link and saw like a wallet connect oh this is this is this is i almost
got fished right but it it was like it was like it's embarrassing to even admit that i almost got
fished at this point but it was yeah it was just a they are getting very sophisticated and
it would have been very easy like had they done it a different route and it not looked as obvious, they,
they might've got me just due to the timing and how like it, again, it was almost identical
So if you're not familiar as familiar with telegram as other platforms, just, just be
Just never click any links like that in your DMS is probably the simplest way, but yeah,
just wanted to share this.
That was fresh on my mind and appreciate you, uh, address next.
I think it is important and we, we can we can uh those of us that have been around for
a while might tend to get a little complacent at times and 100 and they are getting better and
better uh i don't know how they are doing it but probably they have a lot of time um and there
are a lot of people that are trying to scam also from different countries right i think the rule is like try to never interact with
anything like your wallet when you are tired uh i don't drink but if you if you drink like never
touch it when you when you're drinking be very careful because this discord was scam was also
like it was kind of obvious but i almost clicked it but i was was like, man, this is off, you know, this is off, I immediately,
you know, called the guy out, he deleted all the messages, and he was probably banned in the discord,
but it's getting out of hand, and, you know, you've been working for what you have for years,
and one stupid link can, you know, get everything out of you, like, crazy it's crazy and I I really hope that you guys stay
safe there and and you know do the basic we have boring security for that guys I would highly
recommend doing that that course and don't think that it can happen to you because I'm always like
always checking if someone is trying to scam i'm getting emails i'm getting
i'm not getting four calls but i'm getting messages you know our data leaked probably
like 100 times so uh so be very very careful thanks kept for sharing that like telegram for
me is crazy place i still don't understand it uh man i'm getting i think i was scammed there once when they added me to the fake group
and the group had exactly the same name
and I think I sent like 0.18 to fake presale
and I lost it, of course.
But for 0.1, it was a good lesson,
G, welcome here and then we got to to Let's Play Sparboa.
What's good? I'm sorry, I'll be a sec. When I first got into Web3 over a year ago almost,
I got ripped by Telegram technical support and thank goodness I didn't have a lot, but my quirky I had and my son was able to get back whatever they took.
So that was I was lucky there.
When you answer the phone for a phone number, you don't recognize 800 number, whatever, or you think it's a scam.
Don't use the same voice because they record your voice.
So when they call Godfrey, they call your mother, whoever, and they say they're you,
I know that's my son or that's my daughter.
So it's always a good thing to
Thank you for sharing. I never thought of
that, but, you know, I don't know
phone with Twitter, probably not. But because of these spaces, man, it's so easy to clone our voices. It's
crazy. Great point. With AI it's getting so, so easier for, for the scammers, right? It's
crazy. Definitely. And I got drained in January, so it's just one thing after another. Thank
you for letting me up. y'all have a good one
thank you for joining and sharing guys
I think it's always good to remind
it's probably the most important thing if you want to stay
in Web3 long term so yeah that's 100%
the alpha do the boring security course guys because it will
help you a lot I'll quickly say hi to Squiddy Dojo and
Dario and we're gonna get into the gaming on Somnia network guys
I'm really hyped because there are so many amazing games. I have to buy a PC
I have to buy a PC to be able to play. Squiddy, how you doing man?
I'm pumped. I'm pumped on so many levels
I don't know if you were saying hi to me when I got rugged three times earlier.
Pumped to hear from Chandler. And duh, I don't know if Chandler's here, but yeah, Sparkball in the house.
We've got a launch today too, so I'm on the internet all day, so that'll be pretty fun.
Download FIFA Rivals. I have to do it. But for the Grateful Show, yeah, man, I'm pumped about today.
I'm pumped about this guest you guys have.
We had them on the Gaming Ape Show.
They've got an awesome game, and they've got a great community forming around it.
So you guys are in for a good one here on the gaming side.
First time, long time listener.
Unfortunately, Chandler's not here, but it's just Dub.
All right, we're stuck with Dub.
All right, you guys can all leave now.
Jokes aside, we're in for a great treat, everyone.
And, yeah, I'm going to shut up and listen, guys.
Let's go, Squiddy. Let's go! You always have been a great time!
I'm crushing it with FIFA Rivals too by the way, I can't stop playing.
I can't stop playing, alright, I'm shutting the fuck up, but I'm pumped.
Man, game Mythic or Mythical Games, they got such a great asset, right?
Hiring queue because you come to every space and you keep shilling FIFA Rivals, man, no matter the game we host here.
Always FIFA Rivals, I love the game we host here always FIFA Rivals I love it I love it man
Dojo how you doing? Yo GM GM good morning grateful good morning Tino let's go first off I
see you're assembling a list grateful I wanted to thank you in
advance for adding me you know to a list of such big legends in the space yeah
and second thing I started designing a shoe for the cool kicks a chain collab
so I could post that alpha pin it up there pin it up there, pin it up there. All right, let's fucking go. Let's go.
Yeah, if you have time, we're going to get into Ape Chain in the second part of the show.
So if you have time to stick around, definitely want to learn more about that.
Dario, what's good? Are you cooking?
Yeah, Dario is cooking for sure.
Okay, guys, let's get into the Let's Play Spark Ball.
I couldn't play because I don't have a Windows computer, which is such a shame.
Super happy to have you here.
I'm also here to just shell fifa rivals
um it's such a fucking good game and you know that's what i'm playing today uh even though
you know sparkball lobbies just went online uh so let's fucking go let's fucking go that's great
i love it i love it we still coffee with captain here right so? So you can shill FIFA Rival here, no problem.
Guys, I mentioned a few times that I watched the gameplay.
Before we get into the, you know,
how the game works and everything that you've been cooking,
I want to ask you about the Somnia
because there are many, many really cool
and good-looking games coming to Somnia because there are many, many really cool and good looking games coming to
Somnia Network. A lot of people in the audience know that I'm a Somnia Network whale right now.
If we're talking about Mindshare. So why did you guys choose Somnia Network? Like,
why is this blockchain, you know, right fit for you?
blockchain you know right fit for you yeah it's really like in better in mind
incentives or for both parties like we met with the Somnia team pretty recently
a couple months ago in person in Dubai and just their gaming team is there the
whole thing it's just is very focused.
It's exactly the kind of team we were looking to work with that isn't distracted by too much and really able to execute on a clear vision that they want to execute on.
The game we've had, we've been around in crypto for a long time.
We're in other partners and, you know, excited to find one that has these really in line incentives
and out the gate has been able to help us with Steam Next Fest, which is particularly
like a big Web 2 and push for us to get players and to get Web 2 guys into the game.
We've been able to really bolster Wishlist, which helps get us on the algorithm through
Quest. So, please Wishlist on Steam. It helps us a ton. able to really bolster wishlist which helps get us on the the algorithm through quest so
please wishlist on steam it helps us a ton and that's what somnia team has literally been able
to do right out the gate it was a quick ask and also helping us get connected with big web2
influencers that we're gonna bring on board here pretty pretty quickly and really excited to bring that out. Yeah, that's a great point.
I think the team in Somnia,
it's so good to actually be in touch with them
because there's Paul, of course,
there's Herman from Improbable, right?
And they have a solid experience from building, right?
They are behind the M2 tech also,
which powers the other side, and I think that's
a big advantage to have a team that's
really focused on building, and not
necessarily like a lot of Web3 teams
money, and then, you know, who knows what's
going to happen after that. So, I'm also really
bullish on them. I hope they deliver some cool stuff.
And of course, Other Side is launching this or next month,
Can't wait to play there.
So could you share a bit about what the Spark Ball is,
and how people can participate in the game?
The quick one-liner is it's very much like League of Legends
and Rocket League as a hybrid game.
It's a MOBA where you're doing a 4v4 team match
that's actually much like a soccer match.
You want to take out the enemy's turret from there,
the goalkeeper kind of unlocks,
and then you can take down the goalkeeper
and then shoot on goal. So imagine if you like you literally just added a ball to league or dota
and played that play that match and try to play soccer that's what the team has cooked on here
um it's had a long journey to get there it has a lot of polish compared to most web three games
that people are used to i speak from experience i I've been in this space for four plus years.
I've been known for streaming a new game every day.
And now I'm advising the ones that I think are going to win.
And Sparkball is one that is a great Web2 game
out the gate for players.
And if you know how to play a MOBA,
you're going to have an excellent time right out the gate with Spark Ball and then as well as we have a very good like tutorial very similar to
the Super Smash Bros little tutorial training center that lets people kind of find their main
and learn how to play a MOBA as well too so really proud of the onboarding Fatui there and definitely
can uh figure out how to play without getting
smacked around by a bunch of uh sweating sweaty players out the gate man you mentioned that you're
also advising what makes the game actually successful uh can you recognize the game early
in the development that it's gonna be a hit? I'm asking because there are
so many games and of course some games are coming with a token. How can we decide which game to play?
Of course one way is that it should be fun but are there any signs that you can really say hey
this is gonna be hit? Yeah I'm really lucky And I've been part of a tight, nerdy Discord group since high school with a bunch of my friends I grew up with.
And they basically have shunned me as the crypto guy since I fucking got into Bitcoin and Ethereum.
And when I am able to stream the game to them and they're like, oh, how do I get in?
Let's get on a match. And then we have fun and they're like oh how do i get in how do i play let's get on a match
and then we have fun and they want to keep playing that's how i know there is something there um
mythicals products were always like that too they all played nfl rivals for a really long time and
are probably gonna check out fifa rivals as soon as i put it in front of them and
it's really the ability for a game to spread from friend to friend rather than from DGEN to DGEN is a good way to put it.
Although, like I will say, there can be stickiness for a good, you know, not really a Ponzi game, but for a crypto game and for some money making games out there.
I still have hope for that. We haven't seen like really good examples of that, and we've seen all the warning signs when those come around.
But typically with a game that you see on Steam, or you see on Twitch,
and you see being supported by big names and stuff like that,
it's typically a good sign that the right places are there for that game to succeed.
places are there for that game to succeed.
Damn, what's the name of the game?
I have to find it. But I played Alien. I forgot
It's like a paper, rock, scissor
I'm all in that shit, too. I'm a fucking
On Chain Heroes, too. Like I said i said dude i play them all and enjoy them all and i still play gigaverse every day i just use an ai bot to do it now so
nice but i kind of enjoy it it's relaxing for me it's fun you know it's it's quick so
yeah that's uh that's 100% the way.
Because I've been trying to get into games, but, man, I have Mac,
and I'm telling you, it's tough with a Mac.
So is there any way around, or what would you recommend players with Mac?
Because when I tweeted that... Holy shit, get a PC, dude.
I mean, it's like you've been trying to play games on bitcoin this whole time and
selling a bridge to ethereum you're just gonna have to do it like the and this is your core
problem is that all these studios are very indie you know they have to make their game as cheap as
they can and figure out what's fun and make the game loop and all that shit for it to get somewhere
right and for them to take next steps, get funding to grow.
And you don't do that on Mac
because you're shooting yourself in the foot
and losing like a ton of early player base
and these industry standards, compatibility,
the list goes on and porting over to that
is another extra cost that no one's willing to make
because there's only like 10, you know, one dude with a Mac
out of 10 people that are playing PC games.
And that's just the way it is.
So yeah, I hate to be the guy to tell you cold, but it's time for you to just find a
cheap, you know, 3080 somewhere and put a PC together or get a laptop going.
It's very funny because Grateful always says always says like yeah that's what i'll do
i'll just find a cheap solution easy one that's what i'm scared of man no he just buys the
most most advanced super cool most expensive piece of and it doesn't matter for like anything
before he's like oh maybe i should look into some cheap options for this and he just buys the super fancy one and it's gonna happen also here you
can still play MapleStory you know I guess that's cool you can play some
web3 game if you want but it's one pickings for you but Dab how about mobile
what's that direction because it's a bit of a different kind of...
Like, how do game developers look at mobile?
Oh, dude, I mean, even Spark Ball for its fidelity and what it is today, we're aiming for mobile for that.
Yeah, it's hard to find PC-only games.
Like, even high-fidelity PC games that are coming out these days are a hundred
percent trying to get on mobile because mobile also means iPad and those type of
tablets and those devices as well.
So there's like a weird gray area when saying going for mobile, but yeah,
it's just to spread, especially with trying to,
it's all about keeping hourly users, especially if it's a financial game.
Like you got to keep people playing every hour, able to fill lobbies and able to fill games.
So the person doesn't get bored and waiting for a queue and go to the next thing.
You know, that's multiplayer games in a nutshell.
So unlocking mobile is like a thousand acts as far as like potential for
people that can be playing every hour it's i mean so many different regions so many different
yeah it's it's a mandatory thing going forward for a lot let's talk about uh uh let's talk about
spark ball and uh we talked to to paul about somnia how it'snia, how it's very fast and important it is that the
end player doesn't even know, we also talked to Squiddy about this, that the end
player doesn't even know that it has anything to do with blockchain or to
trying to get the user experience as simple as possible. How do you guys look at this? How is actually the blockchain
involved and how do you look at the user not having to worry about being on blockchain?
Yeah, totally. I mean, it's a problem we've been facing since the start and it seems like
no one has really figured out
the perfect way of doing that, right?
But there's an interesting method that Spark Ball's going for
and same with Wild Card, if you're familiar with that game
where the game itself is gonna remain actually pretty web too.
And you won't see any on-chain transactions,
any wallet connect, anything like that happening
out of the base game itself when you log in from your account you can possibly have some account
changes around cosmetics and those types of things from a outside browser experience uh
accounting game that then links your wallet and all kinds of stuff like that. And with Sparkball and Wildcard 2, they're looking at creating more of a metagame and
fantasy sports kind of like experience around those Web 2 games.
So for Sparkball, it's a 4v4 brawler.
MOBA, as we can imagine, Team Liquid and Cloud9 having teams
and playing this thing nonstop.
But what if you could own a replica AI agent
of those Team Liquid players
and form your own hybrid team with Cloud9
and compete those in tournaments
and then fantasy sports kind of bracket level.
And this kind of like like not necessarily sports betting but um financialization
around uh models representing the game and everything going on as well as like live stream
uh interactions and things like that on on live events uh so it's going to be really about
the entertainment of viewing the game that's going to have a lot of web 3 elements while
the game itself won't be necessarily play to earn where you're receiving token from playing and
grinding the match or anything like that it's more about the entertainment around it and that
viewing experience for it yeah this is really cool because Paul also talked about it.
He mentioned Chunked, right?
When it was like a Minecraft game where you were building
and everything in the game was actually saved on blockchain.
And he mentioned that for a shooter game,
it's like an anti-cheat mechanism, right?
Because you see everything what happened on blockchain
and you can replay it back.
So it opens a new possibilities of betting and having fun around.
So that's probably something similar that you are trying to do with a spark ball, right?
And having a partner like Somnia that is aligned with that and already has that vision has been really refreshing.
like Somnia that is aligned with that and already has that vision has been really refreshing because
the tech is not as difficult as a conversation right now it's more of the creativity and the
packaging of it and finally taking some next steps now that the the baseline is kind of there to make
it happen. How do you try to acquire players into your games?
Is it mixed or you focus mostly on Web2 audience?
Because I remember, but it's been a few years ago,
not only it was hard to get players,
but it was also hard to get developers
because when they heard about Web3,
they didn't want to participate.
Did this also change when you are acquiring the the players sorry two questions in in one but
no all good all good i've been in the industry long enough and i've been attending conferences
like the game developers conference in san francisco and getting a real feel for this what
what was tragic and interesting was the entire game industry
got really smacked hard, like about starting about a year ago. And there's been more layoffs in web
two gaming than web three gaming. So a lot of developers have been kind of forced to take a
look at crypto and get involved just because of the way the market is and the job availability that's out there. So we've definitely seen a shift in people willing to build and like
having, I don't really see a anti crypto gaming developer group at the GDC conference while we
were seeing that like three years ago, you know? So that's been a lot of fun.
I mean, props to AVAX for putting a big banner
that said Web3 Gaming sucks
and then letting me stream in front
of all those game developers
and have the best fucking time of my life
and really convince people the ironic cool way.
But for us and for Spark Ball right now,
gaining players is, it's a whole lot of stuff
it's crazy the different approaches and things so we've had a very solid player base from our
web3 community that started three years ago consistently showing up even as the game had
to get taken down for a couple months and brought back up and taken down. That's been amazing for having a solid player base that's very involved and very wanting to give feedback and be, you know, a community rather than just, you know, there to play the game. launch and being trending on steam so that we can continue to get easy reach to people on steam
we're now trying to grow in every web to place possible we have a very large budget that we're
trying to spend as smart as we can it's not about spending 200k to have shroud stream it for two hours and hopefully get a one percent conversion on that
it's about finding 20 to 200 micro and mid streamer mid mid core streamers that are you know
vtubers or league of legends fanatics or rocket league guys that fit our target game demographic
and are able to convert at a more efficient rate on that spend.
So there's a list of a very long list of streamers literally across the world from Brazil to US to Canada to Asia and what have you that will be streaming Sparkball.
And we're paying them for an hour of doing that and hoping to see this many people from their audience get visibility in our game and then take the action to come wishlist and at least play a couple matches to get the free skin that we have for that.
It's the kind of Web 2.1.0 template as you release a game and give some exclusive cosmetics during that limited
availability. And then from there, we have some bigger streamers coming on board that I don't
want to reveal yet. That was a big effort and work. I have a lot of friends in the space that
I was able to call and make this deal happen. That'll be announcing by the end of the week.
And then we'll also like bring on a lot of our esports connections for a
big tournament kind of in two or three weeks where we can like really showcase and create some more
um evergreen footage that can you know grab onto the youtube algorithm well or google algorithm
well and as we get ready to launch launch the game in q4 we're like just basically trying to load the canyon with as
much attention and uh impressions on people as we can right now and that's where a lot of the
spend is going to well we also have articles on espn game informer um all the big pr outlets going
out as well so really spending uh smart dollars across the space space as much as we can and everywhere we can.
So basically having streamers streaming the game to their audiences is one of the best
way to actually promote the game these days.
I'm asking also because of the other side launch, right?
Because we need to also attract players.
So do you see that as one of the best ways how to actually acquire new players?
Yeah, and it just needs to be in conjunction with going trending somewhere.
So if you're going for Google, great.
But what we're going for is Steam and this Steam Next Fest.
this steam next fest that's like you can only do steam next fest once and it's to get it's a really
That's like, you can only do Steam Next Fest once.
it's the best shot for indie games like ourselves to get on these just kind of like permanent
evergreen indie uh trending lists so that new players can constantly discover us without having
us having to spend tens of thousands of dollars on steam to to get in front of them uh is really it and it's um it's
crazy that this is the market and this is how the things work in the end i i came from another space
and found crypto and then found crypto gaming so it's been a hell of a ride for me and i'm learning
as we go and it's a interesting because last month we were mentioned as bayc community in one of the we are
from czech republic and in one of the like most famous gaming magazine that celebrated 30 years
of existence uh when i was a kid that there was the magazine that onboarded me into games and
back in the day if i understand it correctly like you know you had these magazines
that uh people wrote reviews about the games you some later bit you got a cd with a demo version
of the game right so people could try the game because they're basically there was only like
dial-up internet and and maybe some some forums so it's crazy how how it evolved that content
creators has so much power right now it's not the magazine anymore it's it's crazy how it evolved that content creators has so much power right now.
It's not the magazine anymore.
It's really the content creator.
I think it's a huge opportunity for a lot of people in this space.
something that you really enjoy.
It's got to be very interesting to see that.
I'm still thinking about games that are not on Steam
and how will people discover them, right?
Are there any other ways?
For example, I mentioned other side,
but there are many other games.
How can people discover those games?
Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of discovery
platforms locally out there beyond just steam steam's really good for these direct-to-pc uh type
games but obviously for mobile it's all about the play store and the apple store um otherwise good
old good old reddit is a is a great place to start trending and really get going. Props to the CCP team and E Frontier.
They're a web three game that is bridging from E Frontier,
but they are, every time I go on r backslash gaming,
there's something about them there.
So they're really crushing that Reddit kind of campaign
TikTok as well, but with those social media hits, it's very hard to,
you know, plan for virality for that and to hit that one video that, you know, just reaches
millions. But if that happens, it does have lasting impact. And we've seen Gage be able to
make that happen. So it's all about shots on goal and getting in, trying it out.
Otherwise, focusing in on a local area,
there's a couple of games that are like,
hey, I'm just gonna exist in Thailand
and I'm gonna be the most popular game in Thailand.
And this is how I'm gonna do that
is a great way to go about it too.
And that's all on Facebook and local influencers,
doesn't really matter about steam or anything like that so a lot of ways to to cook the chicken here
but um there there's um yeah even epic game story the list goes on
squiddy uh i know you've been working with NFL rivals
what works the best for you guys
is that also the mix of streamers
a lot of it's pretty cut and dry
when it comes to some of the the user acquisition tactics
especially with traditional traditional games traditional mobile games you're going to spend
you're going to get the the ads right and you're going to get brought into the game then you're
going to try and play it then it's about the game wanting to keep you in so i would expect a lot of
traditional mobile ua you'll see some streams here but again we're for the way that we're at
right now with fifa rivals and again i i'm not going to speak for the marketing team just
you know my experience in the gaming space it's going to be more traditional marketing when it
comes to okay we've got this fifa title we've got this fifa game that you you know, new mobile, new take on FIFA. Don't have to know it's blockchain based
if that's not your bag, baby, but also can dive deeper, get into the marketplace. And there's a
spot for just the Web3D gens that are footy fans or just are interested in other markets to play.
Hey, you're going to need these, you know, there's going to be some cool items in there
too. So it'll, it's going to be interesting. And again, there's going to be some cool items in there too. So it's going to be interesting.
And again, today's day one.
So I've got nothing to kind of go off of here because we've officially launched to the world.
Yeah, guys, if you haven't downloaded FIFA Rivals, 100% do it.
And Dap, if people want to play Spark Ball today how they can get it is it only on
Steam or is it also mobile right now only on Steam right now so you will have
that sorry for the mobile only or those Mac users out there I feel for you just
come over to the you know the good side of the force and yeah, the matchmaking lobbies are literally up right now.
They're going to be up for another 11 hours.
And we have like an MMR leaderboard system and everything like that.
So if you have, you know, three friends you want to play with,
you can do that or you can play solo.
I got a question for Dub.
Dub, who is the better spark ball player, you or my boy KG?
Is it KG Limited or KG Real?
Yeah, my man, the Wardens.
He's my champion in this space.
I beat him in front of everyone in the last tournament.
He is picking up he's a new player. So he's figuring this shit out, but he's very dedicated
He's actually gonna be running a tournament for us
On Monday and I'll be smoking his ass in front of everyone publicly again. So fantastic
Love a good ass public ass smoking man. That just really riles me up and and
Love a good ass, public ass smoking, man.
That just really riles me up and just gets me excited.
I've got my money on KG, though.
We might have to get Clutch Market involved here and put up a little wager there.
You see us bringing around our community here, Grateful?
We can get some action on here, too.
I think this is a great idea, actually, to connect all these projects with Clutch Markets and start betting.
Because, man, betting is so much fun
Especially with crypto and apecoin, right? So 100% let's do it
Yeah, I got the wardens, it's my guild
Everyone had voted for the wardens too and I was the big upset and made a bunch of people a bunch of money
So I'll do it again. Yeah, and also I have to say to this claimer don't let dub fool you the dude's nasty on the sticks too he might if he tries to sandbag
it I'm not gonna let that happen too he's an assassin he's a trained assassin out there
and we already already talked about playing basketball in Vegas with uh Richard Wagner
and then we got a bet also on Clutch Market.
So yeah, we are quite competitive here.
So Dab, are you also going for ApeFest?
Oh yeah, dude, definitely got to get out there.
I've always like fantasized about making out to there.
Now I'm finally traveling and shit and yeah,'t miss it let's go it's gonna be a
banger i can't wait to meet all of you guys there because it's gonna be it's gonna be amazing
i'm wondering are you planning actually to showcase your game or or do some kind of
tournaments during during ape fest because that would be amazing side event man i i haven't talked
to him but would definitely take the meeting and put it together i've
in previous games i've done yeah a lot of conferences and a lot of
last minute builds and putting putting the games in the space so yeah just need some pcs
tino do you have any questions i have i've also a few questions about tournaments and esports, but Tino, I know you also have questions.
Maybe if you just tell me, we skipped the very beginning, why did you choose Somnia?
like paul paul was sealed the deal and we we met with him in dubai and had very aligned visions and
and sent like what we wanted for the game and for the space and for how we're gonna go about
you know bringing a bunch of web2 people over via video games and yeah it was just the perfect
partner and and he's like proven it in his actions too so yeah really stoked on how it's been i've i've built
games at the triple a to double a level in crypto for four years now on you know five different
chains so um i'm really loving what somnia is doing in the best in class that i've seen so far
i like it uh for everybody in the audience,
if you guys haven't listened to the show,
we hosted Paul from Somnia.
It's also available on your favorite podcast platform.
So go ahead and listen to it because I think it was a nice intro,
but also into Web3 gaming
and the perspective of the blockchain in general versus
gaming. So I really really like it and yeah grateful go ahead I know you do have many more questions.
Yeah I wanted to ask you because I think yesterday we got a we got a airdrop from Somnia network for
yuppers right and they can do it easily because they know your Twitter, they know your wallet,
so they can just airdrop you
the price. And I think this might
be very interesting for games
when you host a tournament and
you have all the players that you can just airdrop
the prices to them, or is
it too much for most of the gamers
and the traditional way is more
suitable for them no definitely definitely not you should uh check out thousands.tv
um it's a streaming platform where we literally shoot nfts out of cannons and distribute tokens
on any chain um at the end of the match based off like your betting
performance during the match we just did an event two nights ago playing spark ball like i said
and yeah that's definitely a really cool element of gamifying or improving the viewership experience
around gaming as a whole i think it works for just about any game too.
We can imagine in a future where we're watching League of Legends
and doing the same thing, giving out Cloud9 NFTs for the finals
or what have you and all that good stuff.
Yeah, it definitely sounds great.
And Dab, because you said that you have experience from Web 2 and Web 3, how gamers look at NFTs right now? Because when I talk to people outside of the space, a lot of them heard about NFTs in 2021 and they are like, oh, NFTs, I'm not touching that. Is there also a change in a gaming community so they learn more about what NFTs are about?
gaming community so they they learn more about what nfts are about and it's not only about like
the speculation on price going up but it really is useful in gaming yeah it's you know it's hard
because a lot of that does still tie to financialization with everyone they still because
gaming itself is is still very financial with csgo and selling skins i mean that's all my homies do is they're
cracking uh cracking cases and trying to get rare rare things so they can sell it on the market to
flip to get something bigger and to be flashier and everything and you know frankly to them whether
or not it's on chain doesn't really matter um they they don't care about the details they just want
to make sure they can sell their thing so if if we start giving them, you know, CSGO skins that are NFTs,
they're going to be a-okay with it and they're going to keep, you know, doing what they're doing.
And that's kind of where it's landed now. I think NFL rivals showed this really well,
like everyone just enjoyed the things they use i'm sure fifa rivals is going to
be very similar where you know just because they don't know doesn't mean it's like a bad thing it
is a better system overall for everyone um and very like more of a tech layer that just no one
knows or talks about but at the end of the day or as long as their things are selling and they're
having fun and hitting the dopamine they
want to hit they're going to keep coming man it's crazy i remember when diablo 2 was released
i know there were like uh not official marketplaces where you could buy equipment and there were
really people grinding diablo back in the day on dial-up connection,
trying to find rare or unique items to actually sell it to me.
So the concept works still or has been working since like, you know, probably beginning of gaming.
I really think and believe that blockchain will make it easier for people to trade and and and
to sell those items I is there any example right now of like well done web 3 game that people
actually um trade assets on blockchain or are we still too early uh to see some like major success.
Yeah, no, there's a there's a lot of examples out there.
I think the most relevant one right now is MapleStory Universe.
They they made a NFT version of their game on Avalanche and literally every item is traded. There's a token in there that has like it reached a two billion market cap and it's
there's a token in there that has like it reached a 2 billion market cap and
And they're seeing very active economy and trading and numbers are continuing
to increase in all of those key areas around like, you know, NFT,
the item floors, the new entrance into it and people exiting and healthy
economy signs. So yeah, I would
definitely check out MapleStory and everything there. It's been the most
sustainable growing NFT everywhere kind of cosmetic and crafting economy that
we've seen in gaming yet. And how do you feel about tokens in game, right? Do you also plan any token for Spark Ball?
Should games have their own token or should they use, for example,
ApeCoin or any other coin that's already out there?
How do you think about it?
Yeah, I mean, it's definitely going to be different for every game
and every ecosystem that gets built for us. We are going to do a token eventually, it will be mainly around the meta game of the game and the spectating and viewership and also have very transparent, like where all the tokens are and who's holding them and who's profiting from this and trying to
create like a almost non-for-profit kind of ecosystem running the token um as it as it gets
distributed um there's other games coming out where you know it's it's just a completely different
economy model and the tokens are getting minted in game and then wrist and lost and all that kind of stuff. So there's futures there too.
There's so many examples going forward out now,
even examples of using a coin rather,
and just going there makes sense for a lot of different games and their
specific genres or builds or player types. And it's,
it's a, it's a cool place we're in right now.
There are obviously a lot of bad narratives out there
and a lot of tokens that have gone down,
but I think we're starting to finally see
a lot of healthy game economies
where tokens make sense and are going to be included.
And I'm looking forward to what this next,
what the rest of this year and next year looks like for all that.
like the rest of this year and next year
Do you also have any examples of game economy that works, in your opinion?
We haven't seen one yet that's super sustainable
and has all those signs that it's working.
i think uh maple story is is the best one there so far um we all thought it was going to be cambria
a couple months ago and then the like the bottom fell out so it's hard it's extra hard for games
because it's it's directly linked to participants in that ecosystem, being able to maintain and sustain the economy at whatever
levels, just like being able to maintain and sustain the player base to fill up matches
and queues and stuff like that.
It's a hard thing to build for both of those at the same time.
But the one that I do believe will be successful that is launching in two weeks from now is called Meiji, My Angry Yakuza Girlfriend on Zai.
It's built by a guy named Sinjin who literally started poker in Macau and ran PokerStars and has been managing poker live ops and economies for very, very long and knows a lot about how this shit works and he
has created his own version of that on chain um that i've played and really enjoy and i've been
advising and investing in for a very long time so my bags are there i'm literally here in bangkok
because of it i'm so excited to see how that goes but it it's literally, it's not out yet. So we'll have to wait and see how it goes.
Unfortunately, something happened.
I don't know how many years ago, but they banned most sides here.
I think, I'm not sure if whole Europe or, you know, Poker Star.
I remember Ultimate Bet, Poker Stars, Full Tilt Poker
and, you know, these and I don't see
It was very exciting times to play poker
online at one point, you know,
especially with Italians. Man,
we were always waiting for Italians to
call them fish. So if you are from
Italy, guys, I know Dario is.
Sorry, but it was fun and i played a poker
on um on uh abstract uh with sugar town and man it looks really nice it's smooth it's quick i'm
having fun playing it uh it's it's dope so we also should have poker in in the other side i think
that's a that's a great game to play in the metaverse. So yeah, man, love it, love it.
Tino, any questions from your side before we get into the esports?
No, I'm satisfied with what I heard,
and I'm pretty excited for what's going to happen
and also pumped up about Web3 gaming in general.
Yeah, Dab, I wanted to ask you,
is it important to have a game that actually like professional
players can play? We saw that with Dookie Dash kind of. Like when the pros joined, we saw so many
other players actually checking the game. And also after the main prize was announced,
you know, everyone started to checking Dookie Dash
outside of Web3, a lot of players
that I think Orangy, he made
he said in the video that he made
for other players in the game, which is
a lot of money, I would say, so
is it important for a game to have
such a hype around it and having
professional teams playing it
yeah yeah definitely and that's
that's funny that you bring up Orangy I actually
brought him into freaking
contract work and stuff like that and
killed him into the monster he's
become I freaking love that kid
for getting I think it matters especially for like
games that want to be this competitive esports type game 100 you need to get these pros and
esports teams involved as soon as you can and and participating because ultimately this is
built for them and built for them to be big participants and key partners along the way.
But it doesn't necessarily, like, not every mobile game needs that, right, or anything like that.
For us at Spark Ball, it's definitely in our DNA.
And for a lot of other competitive games, I mean, Dookie Dash was brilliant for getting Mongrel
and that whole narrative to happen
was just something that is a staple of Web3 gaming.
And now Mongrel's gone on to be at OpenSea
and is an ambassador to hopefully be playing Sparkball pretty soon.
So I'm definitely blessed that Dookie Dash did what it did,
And that was one of those crazy shots on goal
that not everyone can just replicate and go make happen again.
They had all the right people in all the right places.
It was the ape community doing what they're doing on top of
all of those virality moments happening that made that narrative work and sing and be able
to prolificate in the web too. So it's hard to make magic like that happen, but it's possible.
It was such a crazy time. I remember those passes that i got for dukey dash i think they
were worth like 30 000 uh from that airdrop or claim or what was that and i was like okay i need
to play the game to to to make a good score to actually i think you you got a heavy metal after
that right and and the better score the better heavy metal you got. It was crazy.
I know even Tino played, right? Tino?
Dab, what is the business model of Spark Ball?
That's also probably an important question.
Totally. We're going to first make money on the Web2 front. that's also probably important question. Yeah, totally.
We're going to first make money on the web two front.
We have a battle pass in the game.
That's going to be $15 once season zero launches.
It's going to get you a bunch of exclusive skins, mounts, emotes and sprays,
as well as entry in to our web three rewards that'll be coming down the road.
And then down once we bring on Web3, there will obviously be ways of making revenue there.
But like I said before, they're aiming for a non-for-profit model.
So we'll see how all of that revenue translates to supporting the community and growing the game and backing
eSports and everything like that.
Just because we are looking at making all this revenue doesn't mean that it's getting
kind of cut to pay out Chandler.
It's getting kind of spent wisely in the ecosystem and supporting the entire Sparkball community and their growth.
Yeah, for sure. I think these game passes are nice.
I'm paying for the gigaverse to be juiced.
And it makes game much more fun for me, you know, and I would say a little bit easier.
I'm getting more points or XP's.
So, yeah, that makes 100% sense.
And yeah, I can't wait to play, man.
I need to figure out the PC, Windows computer
so I can play those games
because there are more and more.
And I want to experience them.
So that's why you are tweeting
and following uh microsoft on twitter
and getting a crazy response with a huge reach yeah i think windows they tweeted uh what should
we bring back and i i tweeted or replied windows xp and it got like 20 000 views or something or
even more so yeah bring windows xp back guys i'm also trying
to get back dario but dario you probably have to leave the room and come back i cannot get you on
stage i don't know what's happening it doesn't work uh dap is there anything that you are like
really excited in in web 3 right now of course spark is one thing, but is there anything else that really makes you hyped?
Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of games.
It feels like there are some OG names in the web through gaming space,
like Mythical, like Spark Ball, like Wildcard, like Parallel,
that have stuck around and weathered the storm no matter where the market
stuck around and weathered the storm no matter where the market and continue to build cool products.
and continue to build cool products.
As a player and participant in all these games, I'm just loving all the different options and games that are out there.
Like Colony by Parallel is a really interesting AI agent Sims game where I'm trying to convince my dude to help save the town rather than writing
in his diary. And yeah, there's just so many good games that are actually fun to play and fun to
create content around. And at the same time, seeing Abstract having its market share or like crypto
degen gaming theme and genre is really interesting and really fun and i'm enjoying that too so
there seems to just be a very nice healthy dynamic space um and when i check out all the stuff going
on with apes too the you guys are just continuing to move forward and i've always enjoyed the the
other side streams as they happen and my homie bryson uh getting to stream all that stuff and
i can't wait for the next ones to come and yeah it's just a lot of good stuff and every all the
crap is kind of following away and making it easy for the the good games to stand out on the on the
twitter landscape no matter how much yapping is going on is there something that you also considered to go this way uh like kaito or
any other of these platforms for you because i think somnia is doing okay not quite a good job
i think they are doing great job because they are crazy man like the team I can compare it with a few other
are insane I don't know how many people work
on that but it's crazy they are
always available they are always creating
I don't know what else it's crazy so
does it make sense for the game
it's hard because it is sense for the game also?
It's hard because it is about what the game's
trying to do right now. If they're
trying to get mindshare around
It depends on the platform
to go and do that on kaido right now and
there is a lot of people competing and doing very well at competing so you need to get
good advice on how to do it and be able to to bankroll that while there is just a incumbent
swarm of other wannabe kaido platforms coming their way in InfoFi.
I think I find three more new ones to connect my Twitter to every day.
I need to make a spreadsheet at this point to cover all my InfoFi things.
But I think finding one there that matches the community demographic you're trying to build on,
if it's like, oh, this one's on on arbitrum and we're an arbitrum grain then you know go for that because it's a newer one it's easier to
it's going to be lower spend than than kaido and it's going to be less people but it's going to be
a better spend per person than the mind share you'll get by not uh knocking it out of the park on Kaido if you do go for that.
Yeah, that makes 100% sense, man.
I also would love to ask you if you are a content creator,
if we have content creators here in the audience,
how they can participate?
What would you recommend them towards the Spark Ball?
Is it like a Twitch streaming or any other social media
that you are interested in?
And the second question is,
if people want to play and have a Windows PC,
what's the best way for them to join right now and support you?
The best way anyone can support us out the gate
is please wishlist us on Steam.
Also log in to your sister's, brother's, grandmother's, uncle's account and wishlist it on Steam as well.
Get the whole family involved because that's going to help us not have to spend a ton of ag money in the future
and get a lot of players pilled into our Web3 ecosystem.
But if you're looking to be a creator around Sparkball,
I'm looking to work with anyone and everyone.
I love people who run spaces.
You can just DM me and we have what's called the Booster Club
and you can start competing or participating
We have a couple up already.
Just know that if you're not participating
or not hitting the mark compared to everyone else,
we do like remove people as well
because we're actively rewarding these guys
with tickets into a 100K raffle
that includes token allocation.
So I've gotten to make creator programs guys with tickets into a 100K raffle that includes token allocation.
So I've gotten to make creator programs over the last four years in Web3.
And this one is kind of like a little bit of my Mona Lisa.
It's all on Telegram, too.
And it's been a lot of fun.
So that's the best way to support us and get involved as a content creator.
If you're looking to play, you can just go to Steam and download and start playing right now.
And I have a question here from Captain. What's the name again of the one you were just talking about, the PokerStars guy. Do they have X account yet?
Yeah, it's gonna be MayGNFT, M-A-Y-G NFT. Otherwise, if you take a look at Jonah Blake and his profile, he's been making a lot of AI short videos about it and we're on the XI ecosystem with that one.
Amazing. Yeah, what an exciting time
to be in this space, man.
So many exciting things are happening.
Are there market conditions
or Web3 market conditions
really important for games like Spark Ball?
Or I, of course, understand that
like you need to have a good market, right?
But for the game that you are releasing right now,
is it important or it doesn't matter
and you can, you know, make it even without it?
Yeah, it's kind of funny.
It's like, it's almost better to launch fun games
because everyone's looking for something fun to do and not to look at the charts.
While when the bull comes around, everyone's like really busy,
just trading to trading, frankly. Uh, so it's,
it's easier to grab attention on Twitter, uh,
definitely during those times as bad as it feels. Um,
but at the same time, you know,
launching when the vibes are right and everyone wants to repost and share, the market just changes so much.
I mean, InfoFi is really changing things as well here.
It's making it harder for everyone to kind of break through the noise without participating in these leaderboards.
So we'll see how things will be in three months from
now but uh that right now it's it's for me if your game's ready and you have a clear plan like
you should just launch the thing regardless of market conditions at this point don't don't wait
for the perfect moment because we're in such a roller coaster that we don't know if like we're
going to be having people on Mars and ready to game in
2026 now or what you know
crazy shit is just happening all the time
that we are on the Forbes event yesterday
talking about AI there and
like on some kind of forbes event in like
five years ago i was like man in five years we are talking about absolutely different things
the world has changed so much it's unbelievable like in those five years you know before covid so
man i cannot imagine next five years it's gonna crazy. And maybe we will have a streamers from Mars,
which is going to be absolutely wild, man.
Because Elon, he said that there might be different laws on Mars, right?
So imagine there's zero capital gains in Mars, man.
So yeah, we'll probably be moving, right?
But Dab, thank you so much.
I absolutely love today's discussion.
Squiddy, anything from your side?
You are the gaming legend here on stage.
Anything you would like to add or ask?
you're playing FIFA Rivals and...
Oh shit, is Squiddy rocked or I'm rocked, guys? Maybe you're playing FIFA Rivals and...
Is Squiddy rocked or I'm rocked, guys?
I think Squiddy's in his own. You're not rocked.
He's playing the best game out there right now,
then Sparkball after if he has time.
because FIFA Rivals is just too good of a game.
I don't know what you're doing with your phone,
but you're probably playing too hard.
anything that we forgot to ask you that you would like to add,
you crushed it. This was a great space i really enjoyed the
the back and forth and getting to drop my feelings on a bridge on a on the market and
some i've been around for a real long time and doing spaces for a bit and this was a really
well organized and everything not a bunch of people yapping because Squiddy got disconnected. So, love to
Love the dub. Can't wait to meet you
in Vegas. It's going to be crazy there.
And we have Squiddy back, so
Squiddy, you can... Won't be denied.
Won't be denied, Grateful.
crispy, bro. Like, I'm so happy that you
invested in those AirPods,
but the wired ones, right?
I'm glad you guys were able to do this.
It's fun to see you guys shoot the shit.
And we're in a wonderful time for the gaming sector
the backness of blockchain and yeah man there's just something about a launch and something about
these things that are just really exciting so uh if you play if you're playing fifa rivals
check it out send me a screenshot i'm hype i'm addicted I don't not gonna be doing anything
productive I've got my PC too so I'm gonna try and get in on this on the
spark ball action finally we got ourselves a little little work computer
here have to go no Mac book because screw that and but I am still an iPhone
guy but that's neither here nor there and yeah man another grateful show in
the books 376 that's a pretty swell there. And yeah, man, another Grateful Show in the books, 376.
That's a pretty swell number, pretty swell episode
with some pretty swell people, man.
It was great to hang out.
Dub knows what he's talking about.
And yeah, for the most part, for the most part.
That's really, that's all i've got love you guys uh go go pacers or go oh you go casey guys oh bro i was on the pacers i took the
pacers to win the series before it started no one believes it's crazy they're still dogs
they might fuck they might win 5-1 and 4-1. They might even be so good,
they might have to win a fifth game to win the title.
And I wouldn't be shocked.
They're definitely winning at home again too.
Guys, we are moving from gaming into the art space.
So Dap, thank you so much for joining us today.
It was amazing. i really enjoyed it
we love hosting builders in this space since we started this show you know we hosted so many
builders and and we want you guys to win because we need to grow this space right and if your game
if sparkball succeeds you know it will bring more players it will bring more people into web3 hopefully so
uh good luck can't wait to play good luck with the tournament good luck with this team
i really hope a lot of people wish listed the game and yeah dap thank you so much and see you
in vegas it's gotta be crazy and we will have a lot of fun there 100 oh yeah guys appreciate it ton we'll talk to you later take care man all the best luck thank you so much legend guys i quickly refresh the room
retweet the space we are picking five of you and you are going to win follow the ape nft
made by legend himself hydro animation he's here in the audience and legend himself, I draw animation. He's here in the audience. And legend himself, Grateful Ape.
Yeah, I'm in that animation. We have so many legendary people in the audience.
I also see Hayley. Hayley is amazing. She's amazing dev on Somnia Network. We also made an app together, which is awesome. I think we also should make an app on ApeChain,
because you go to the app, you write what you are grateful for,
and it mints as NFT, which is really cool.
I think we have close to 3,000 NFTs minted already.
It's called 0.001STT, so it's almost free. And it's dope. It's almost free. It's called 0.001STT. So it's almost free and it's great. I also see
Showbiz, CoolChic and many other legends. Guys, I mentioned it early in this episode that I'm
creating a list because xAlgo is really messing with me. I don't see your tweets and I want to
see your tweets. So I'm creating a tweet so i'm creating a list you know
i i'm slowly adding it you know it takes time to add everyone that i want to have there i have most
of you that you are here in this room there already i'll be adding after the show so basically
the idea is to create list of all the homies you know and then interact with you more because
that's what i love and that's how we started in this space back in
2021 the crazy madness on Twitter yeah I also see Baron big shout out to Baron there's in in like
40 minutes there's a huge huge space other space FM is hosting Garga so I'm going going to be there
that's why we didn't talk about what he said in Coffee with Captain,
because there's another space today, so
you can go there and listen.
I really hope the vote for
will go live soon, so we can vote
and we can move on. I don't know what's the
schedule, but I really hope it's gonna
Let me quickly scroll through
the audience. We have so many oranges here.
It's amazing. I love it. Lord, Lord, thank you. And Hunter, thank you so much for saving it.
Tino, how did you enjoy it, talking about the gaming?
Yeah, I like it. It's always a bit new for me because I'm not really involved in the space.
So for me, I always think about these things, you know me more from the broader perspective, from like a big picture kind of way.
And I really love that we're slowly getting to the moment when Web3 gaming becomes a thing because so far it's basically gaming and actually it shouldn't
be a thing because it should be gaming in general powered by this technology where the
users should really don't care and have no idea that it's powered by blockchain.
So I think we're slowly getting there and I'm pretty excited and I'm super excited to
talk to Dario because he's been one of my most favorite artists,
not only in the space, but in general.
And I think it's time to say hello to the legend.
Dario started creating remixes of Apes and he created my ape remix and it's absolutely
legendary i love it and it has orange background so oranges got me in 2021 i still have it as pfp
on my instagram and yeah super happy to have dario here beautiful punk dario how you doing today man yo guys doing well doing well thanks thanks for the
invite really appreciate that and uh yeah missed you guys actually man we have done so many spaces
together i think 2022 2023 absolutely wild right yeah yeah that's that's why i actually still like i i try to find my
english skills again which was never here actually but um i kind of feel that i actually need to
speak more on spaces again to not uh miss out on on english but uh yeah i missed the space a lot but i had to go back to
kind of my roots like finding myself again is always part of my artistic journey and
it sometimes just take longer than expected and then i i learned to actually take this time and
yeah this is why i was not really active. But I see you guys are still here.
So I don't miss a lot, probably.
Now you're here, still on the bottom.
But you're enjoying it still.
And so, Dario, maybe give us a really brief intro
into who have you been, how you got into the space
if there is somebody who doesn't know. But I'm really curious about
this creative break that you just mentioned. So maybe if you can
talk a little bit more about that as well.
Yeah, sure. Yeah, so I mean, I come from the physical
painter, as a portrait painter, mostly on canvas.
And digital was always just my daily work as graphic designer.
When I entered the space, I was focusing a lot on digital work and start releasing works
I did in the past and start to actually involve my style into a new unseen style.
At like 2021, I entered Web3.
And for me, it was a crazy journey with a lot of ups, but also a lot of downs.
Because, yeah, when you go up, it's also sometimes it goes down.
And then you actually have to deal with your emotions and everything surrounds you.
And it was tricky in the beginning in this space, actually.
So I learned a lot from that.
And I hear myself more now when I say, hey, it's time to actually take a break uh there is too much distraction going on so i can't
focus anymore on on what i like to build or what i like to create as an artist because what i create
is art most of the time and um yeah this is why i always like i think end of 2021 was like the first
change like in November I can't could even laugh anymore or whatever because I don't had any
change like in november i can't i could even
emotions left because it was just feeling like being like in in a casino for one year straight
with just winning which is really nice and and changed my life but it was also
extremely stressful I never had people investing in me and like there
was good things but also people who bothered me a lot for for different things so um learned from
that that did go back right right a lot actually i i wrote a lot about me what i did like really
really early chat gpt helps a lot to just structure this shit, and then actually you press the play button and someone is reading it, and this was kind of a game changer for my brain, because normally you just think the stuff you actually do or like to do, or you did, but you never hear it. And this was something I did a lot in the past, like,
months to just, like, find out a little bit more about myself and what I like to do. And
it helped a lot. It helped a ton, actually. But yeah, I'm happy to be here. Thanks really
for the space. It's always great to be on a grateful show with all of you. And yeah, Meldit was a big part of this actually,
of this like kind of going into something new,
first it was just like playing around and see what I can come up with.
And then I found something which I was kind of proud in the first place,
probably after one month of working on it.
But then I actually lost kind of the line and I was not sure if I should or if I still like it.
So I put it way back and start to paint physical pieces again.
And probably after a month later, I started again working on it.
And I had a lot of outputs, which I was happier about.
But at the end, it took me much longer than expected.
And I think one month before now, it was a point where I say, if I don't do it right now, I will never do it.
So I just told myself, make a smaller number of mint,
try to focus on the highest quality outputs,
and that's what's minting today.
150 pieces curated out of probably around 10K generated
So yeah, proud about it. Looking forward.
all listed somehow, right?
connect your wallet and you see which uh
i also put the yeah it's got it's it's a low mint so it's like 150 pieces um which is not much so i
i told myself i would make it a fast mint so first phase is just one hour for all the collectors who can mint on a lower price.
They were able to catch this in my Discord most of the time.
And then I opened the second phase, but I also added all the first phase people in the second phase.
So it's kind of, yeah, you have to be fast to get it today.
Yeah, and it's happening in like 30 minutes.
and then you have one hour for the
Oh, Tito, I know why I'm not on the list
three wallets, but I sent him
the one wallet address three times.
I don't update the contract again bro, come on. But it's okay, it's okay. It does better.
I buy one, I send you one. It's just so funny, I'm just checking DMs, I'm like holy smoke.
This guy is four years in the web free and he don't get used. But maybe it's Tino's wallet, so he can make no worries.
So did I have to be there added manually or being your collector is enough?
Or which collections then?
Sorry, I was not understanding the question.
So which collections are actually wide-listed from your collections?
It was everybody who has a role
but they actually have to drop
channel. So for me, it's like
it was always valuable to people who are around and always here and
try to catch up, even if you were away for probably almost six months now.
This is why I told myself, yeah, that the first hundred is just for collectors and then
we have like 50 for public because I think i think it's also uh good to onboard
new people who don't even probably don't know me at this point um but uh yeah that's that was kind
of the the idea and discord is always the best way to actually catch this stuff yeah 100 100 man uh
yeah 100 100 man uh is this art also coming with physical somehow or uh how how would it
works and how did you create it man is that like combination with ai or
um so physical is not really a thing at the moment i think this is something for the future. If things go really crazy, then
can think about that for sure. But for now, it's really about the collection itself.
And the process was actually really deep. Like in the beginning, I started to actually sketch more things than just work them out because
working out my illustrations was always really time consuming so I thought okay let's try to
actually make just pencil sketches of the Melted series some kind so when I trained the AI
and I used for the first for the first training MidJourney because it's just easier than writing everything down and try to make it like with other AIs.
So after the first draft was out and I was kind of proud, I was just not happy about the quality at that point.
was just not happy about the quality at that point so i curated the first batch probably like 2k
images to around like 100 and then i trained a new model and then i i got from there and it was
still not really melting as i want so i started to actually edit the the outputs i edit in Photoshop and after having it somehow right and more kind of expressive
I again trained in AI to actually generate more images and it's also with prompting and
and also with the new version of Mid Journeyney was much easier than before.
So at the end, I think I used Midjourney like three times,
then one time Photoshop editing all the pieces, again Midjourney,
and then I was going to CREA AI.
That's probably one of the best I know for this kind of stuff. And at the end, it was upscaled with another AI
to actually get this high quality image, which I really
needed for this collection.
And yeah, 150 pieces of around 10k generated images
was a mess to curate this. yeah hopefully everybody likes it and I think
that I need to check the size of the images I don't even know I think the mint starts in like
25 minutes right so yeah I checked the wallet that I sent you it's some kind of random wallet
I don't know what happened there. But good luck with the Mint.
It's minting on OpenSea, so it's easy, guys,
to see who's eligible, who's not.
There's also public face.
Man, you've been around since, you know,
BAYC Mint and probably earlier.
Could you share any lessons for artists before we also get into the more into the into the mini experience now like uh any lessons and you know now coming back
what's the biggest change that you see in the space right now compared to like 21.
i did not even see the space i did not even have time to actually um for me like biggest lesson is
focus on the art i think uh when the 2021 hype was was going on and and it was just a mess even
for me i i was i was also just focusing on the art, but I was just creating nonstop.
And there was like a little voice in my head who told you, you can sell the stuff, right?
So even if you're starting out and you pressure yourself so hard because you need this first sale or you need this whatever, the success you see on the timeline or whatever, it's like it can put you in a really
tough spot and it's really pressureful at some point and for me now it's like really try to make
high-end stuff make it on a low number and always try to involve my early supporters even if I can't
give it to everybody it's
always really tricky to find the sweet spot there but yeah that's kind of my
goal it's it's still it's the same for my physical work like in the beginning
when I started painting it was like I love to paint and I love to create but
at the end I like that people like the work and they like to buy it to hang it
in their walls and and that this changed with like having success in web3 this changed a lot in my
head to actually now I can do the stuff I really want and I don't need people to actually buy it
because I just have to more air to breathe as an artist because I'm more financial free than before.
So I think this helped me a lot to actually get to the next level. And also, yeah, my paintings and everything is changing right now.
I don't even know where to start, where to end,
because when I end, I already have a new one, which is really different.
And so I'm more in the next door kind of area right now
than just like producing finished work.
You also had some exhibitions.
So if you now compare the, you know,
what was happening during the bull market in the art world,
because, you know, Sotheby and everybody was trying to also somehow step in
and all the traditional art galleries.
Is there any interest whatsoever in the traditional art space
I mean, I will find out at Art Puzzle next week,
but I'm not really in the physical art space
because I just don't like it.
It's, or even I think probably it's about Swiss and the Swissness.
We don't talk about money.
Everything's behind the scenes.
scenes it's like it's really like this calm down take it easy kind of thing and and this is just
It's like, it's really like this calm down, take it easy kind of thing.
not in you in the us what i learned here in the web 3 is just completely different which is which
i also really like because i think it's really more authentic and it's like better in your face
and and and you know what i'm talking about and behind the scenes and yeah it's it's kind of a different thing in the
in in the physical world but i think there is more more to come actually like many think about
how to actually like bridge like just nfts in general with physical to actually have have it
more like a verification process which i see uh really valuable um for me it's like still I think
probably like the next big thing I I will do will be probably also like with an nft together like
with a like a chip inside where you actually can track the token and and stuff just for also
you can put nice things in there you can put like the process videos in there you can
maybe put a little uh kind of speech or whatever about the the collection or about the work and
the people who actually buy your art can actually just hold the phone there and and and listen it
or watch it without even need to go to a website. So I think this yeah, many opportunities
and I think many will catch up on them.
I hear this still early actually.
Don't know what you guys think.
Go ahead, D Tino drink some water
I couldn't unmute for some reason
I forget what I wanted to say
it's very interesting to be part of your journey
even probably before I even knew who you are, I bought one of your NFTs and I gave it to one of my friends early 2021, I think.
And it onboarded her into NFTs, which is really cool.
And I think art is is amazing way how to onboard
people because it's easy to understand right you don't need to talk about it's a membership
utility that you can do this and that and you have a token and you know etc etc it's art right
it's art by artist and and that's it so I love. Do you have any plans with this collection
if people are new to your
what they can expect from you in the future?
It's like really, like, no, it's not overused, but it's just for me.
It was like so bothering me like for the last four years.
And I think one week before the mint, like really one week before now,
it's like I was already stressing out myself again, like in my brain.
And I was like, Dario, calm down.
You do it that way as you think it's right, and then it's right.
And for me, it's like really, really about the art.
Try to make a more like a bigger step in the physical space to actually reach more attention there as well.
So I think people can expect to actually see more of my work in the physical world.
And also, I mean, with social, you're just so fast in growing.
And I think that's another thing, which is like Instagram was that for a second,
but I think they curated the content so well.
So people really just watch what they like to watch actually so and and if you make
a big moves there um you can move mountains really quickly and i think it's this is just another part
for me which was not which i was not focusing for like almost four years because i just don't i did
not have time like right now it's still like i have two kids. Like one is the guy, like my boy is already seven
and my little girl who was just one month after I joined the space was born.
So a lot of family stuff happening.
And between working 60% as graphic designer still.
working 60% as graphic designer
trying to make artists then sometimes
because you need to be creative when you
have time to and this is just not how it
and then it's like you had to hold
and you were able to actually
work on stuff but you was just not creative so like 10 11 at night i was like oh there is something
i like to try and then then it starts uh yeah probably going to sleep at four in the morning but uh you did some work so yeah it changed a lot and uh also i calmed down
a lot i i don't like to overthink stuff anymore and then even in this space uh it's like when i
was just doing for it for me i mean biggest thing also like in the in the really early days
everybody told me dario don't mint anything till you are on super air
don't mint anything like you need to go there you need to go do this but don't do it on open sea
and this was also just like me just like okay i need to try things out i without trying i can't
even understand it and without if i would not do that, I probably would still be sitting here waiting for, like, be able to mint on SuperRare or somewhere else where the people think it's valuable.
But for me, it was already valuable to be in the space, to actually being able to mint something, even if it was on the shared contract.
For me, it was like it was meaning something so right now i focus really on what means something
for me and everybody who is behind me and support my work will probably also be happy so that's kind
of my main goal for the future love it man that's absolutely the alpha i remember those days when
we were minting on openSea contract, right?
It was wild back in the day, but 100% agree, guys.
And I think it's the same with gaming, other side, hosting spaces,
Like the best way how to learn is start doing it and don't overthink it, right?
And Dario, your journey is...
I remember, you know, also those spaces that we hosted together for CryptoNovo, right?
When he lost the punk and so on and so on.
It's, that's what I love about Web3, that you can connect with so many cool people in
this space, you know, and be part of their journey.
So I'm really happy that we are here before your mint.
And the mint starts in like 13 minutes, guys.
So I think we are slowly wrapping up.
Yeah, it's in a pinned tweet, you know, pin it up.
So you can check it in a pinned tweet.
Just if you don't like to click any links from grateful you can just go to open c and it's on
the front page exactly you don't have to click any links here just go on open c and you can see
there uh dario it was great talking to you today good luck with the mint. I'll be there. I'll be watching till I get
I save one for you if you
What a great space talking to gaming
with Dario after some time.
You are a Switzerland legend.
I think it was late 2022.
It was after the Art Basel in Miami,
And Dario invited me for a pasta with,
So it was before the bear market because Grateful was able to actually
it up, guys, Tino, can you
spit it for five winners?
You still have the last chance to retweet the
space we will have five winners tino will tweet your handles and please comment your address so
i can send you ape chain nfts absolutely you know you good i'll do that i'm doing it right now
uh and dario i just want to say uh you can see the evolution and i can hear it in your voice that you came through a phase when it means a lot.
For me as your collector or your fan, it means the world that you actually seem to find yourself even more.
And then I'm really super excited about what comes next.
Wishing you all the best luck, man.
You're a legend of this space as well. Always cooking, literally cooking. Nobody has been cooking so much
as Dario live on the show. Every single time, man. That was the best.
And yeah, wishing you all the best luck. Also we'll be looking from sidelines,
watching from sidelines and hope to get something on the secondary
Let's see. Let's see how that goes and
This was actually this wallet. This was the wallet which I was not finding which was a duplicate actually
Thank you grateful. That was like having one hour straight till I found it. I don't know what kind of wallet is that bro
I sent you some random wallet. I don't know
I have no idea. I don't know what kind of wallet is that bro. I sent you some random wallet. I don't know I have no idea. I don't know. I don't know what happened there
But also you know really appreciate you and grateful as well. Thanks so much
What's the name the mint?
What's the name of the mint?
The name of the mint on OpenSea.
You can check it out there.
I'm sorry to bother you guys.
And I quickly say hi to who's big crypto.
Haven't heard from you in a minute, man.
Still hold your heart, you know, from Salina.
Last couple times I've been coming up, it's been hard, man, for me to get up here. So I had to come show some love. Grateful, man, got it in my vault. Hope all is well, King. But hey, man, last couple times I've been coming up,
it's been hard, man, for me to get up here.
So I had to come show some love.
You already know, bring the joy, the love.
What a legend, GM, GM, bro.
I absolutely love the energy.
Get ready, because in nine minutes minutes other space is hosting Garga.
I don't know when Garga is joining but it's gonna be another banger.
Can't wait. Damn, I'm having feeling that we will have amazing announcement this month.
And Garga confirmed that he will drop more alpha about the other side in June.
So, yeah, we'll see what's going to happen.
Hey, guys, I missed everything the last six months.
What about this OpenSea token?
Like, go there, go to rewards, collect XP.
It's the same status as before you left.
You have time. Don't worry. I have no... It's the same. It's the same, bro. You have time.
I was already going for holidays and shit.
Maybe I'll fly to Switzerland again, man.
Hunter is laughing his ass off.
But, guys. We gotta slowly wrap it up. 2030 yeah but guys
we gotta slowly wrap it up
I saw showbiz having spaces
it's not for granted guys
that we have so many great guests
and so many great guests and so
many great hosts in this space uh that basically you can listen to spaces 24 7 focus on bayc
ape chain family uh oh this is not wall chain so i don't have to say ape chain and ape coin 20 times
but you know what i mean right it's not for granted so be really grateful that we have so many great hosts here you know i
see captain squiddy squiddy hosted i know captain is like 930 episodes or something like that squiddy
is like 1.8 million and we are 376 so i don't know what we are doing wrong squiddy is really ahead
showbiz also over 100 100 maybe also 200. So many episodes.
So really be grateful for that because most of the people,
they are doing it, of course, for free.
They are doing it because they love it
and to bring people together,
have fun, you know, uplift others,
Yeah, so I would love to announce the winners
of the Follow the ape nft by
uh the legend grateful ape and illustrated by jacko paul hydro animation so i pin it on the top
