Today, we have an exciting chill it forward session.
We may or may not have a co-host named Carlos.
I know he's a busy, busy man, so I may be up here all by myself, but that's okay.
I think I can probably hold down the fort and I see our good friend robot fish girl is also requested.
So, maybe she'll come co-host this with me.
The way this space is going to work today, we're going to give you each about 60 seconds to come up on stage and shill your favorite project.
You need to shill about a friend's project, your project you use every day, a project you just learned about yesterday, maybe.
But shill someone else's project, it gives you a low-risk way to learn to shill about a project.
If you need some help with that, you can go to grants, you can go to grants, you can go there and search for all the grants in the main rounds.
And you can use it to give it a nice little prompt to tell you about a project in 100 words or 150 words.
And then you can just read the script if that's easier for you.
That's the way I like to roll, and I've got a few prepared.
We'll rock into those here shortly.
And then you can go ahead and put the link to their page in the comments, and we'll get it pinned up top for you.
If you go much over 60 seconds, I'm definitely going to gong you.
And if Robot Fish Girl comes up, I'm sure she has an exciting sound effect we can use.
But we want to keep it to about 60 seconds so we can get as many folks up here and as many shills as possible.
So before we get started here, if you can all make sure to retweet the space, drop us a comment in the thread, and like the space.
That's going to help get the engagement up and fill up the room so that we can share about all these amazing projects with everybody.
I'm going to go ahead and bring a few folks up to start, and then we are going to get rolling.
We're going to start with those.
We'll get Drew up here next, and then definitely hop up, folks, and shill a friend.
We have only about seven or eight hours left of the round, so these last-minute shills might make a huge difference for those projects as people learn about new and exciting projects they've never heard about before, maybe.
Robot Fish Girl, how are you doing today?
Robot Fish Girl, how are you doing today?
Loon Co., how are you doing today?
Maybe we can at least say a little hello, and then if any of you want to jump into a quick shill, we'd love that.
So today was a crazy day.
Everything in the morning has fallen apart.
Sometimes you just feel that the universe is against you, but that's totally fine.
At this point in time, you just have to realize that it's totally fine, and you just have to keep building.
So my mood is happy to show, despite all the issues that are happening, and I hope that everyone has the same attitude.
to shill, to build your projects, and to make a huge impact on the work we did.
Yeah, you know, they say the giving is the getting, so I think there's something beautiful about sharing about another project,
because it allows you to give it all away, and then likely it'll come back and maybe brighten your day.
So you want to kick us off with a little shill of one of your favorite projects out there?
Yeah, sure. Just give me the signal to start.
In my case, like, can I already start? Or when my 60 seconds start?
I mean, it started 10 seconds ago, so I can really have to go fast.
No, I'm just messing. All right, it goes now. Now, now.
Okay, cool. So my name is Rod. I'm a space systems engineer. You know, I'm huge fan of space exploration.
So I want to show this space round. We have 18 projects, 18 amazing projects on the round.
So I'll show in the order that I can see them right now on the Gitcoin page.
Capernic space. Guys are super crazy, super amazing. I love them.
You can send digital payload to the Mono right now through them, and in a couple of months, you'll be able to buy physical payload and pen through their service to the Mono.
DeepVenture are your manuals project, IT for space staff. Highly, highly suggest support.
Ephemeris. New project on the Gitcoin. They built Earth data oracles for Web3. Super cool and super serious guys from Bulgaria.
Liveship. They are decentralizing life itself, and they have the first mission to the Moon on 24th of December.
Guys, they are already spreading life behind Earth, and they have experience. They already have sent to ISS a couple of missions.
Astrochain. Everything related to astrophotography, I'd suggest to donate.
GreenPill DSpace. Yes, there is a GreenPill chapter, so if you support GreenPill, please support GreenPill DSpace and DSpace Round.
DSpaceQF marketing and operations. That's a new initiative. The idea is to form a dedicated budget for DSpaceQF, but to do it through quadratic funding,
and internal and external projects go through the same process. Kind of an interesting experiment.
DSpaceQF stewards. So we have five people working on the round. So if you want to grow, if you acknowledge the importance of work of third ship,
please support and vote for this project. Observer Space Station. New project on the round. The guy is super amazing.
That's his actually, he just left university. So he's looking for a job, and it looks like now he will be working full time on Web3.
He's building space exploration related communities in Web3 space.
SpaceDAO. Guys have received a grant from European space agencies. They work on collision prediction market,
on a decentralized collision, satellite collision prediction market. They have some funds from European space agency, which is super cool, I think.
LUNCA. Well, I can assure you that my project, SpaceRockDAO, they work towards different ways to fund space projects.
Orbitulum. Those are super serious guys, and RV kind of, they're investors. So they're really serious. That's definitely the project that you must support.
They will contribute a lot to the overall ecosystem. I just, the founder is super amazing, super serious guy. He's from China, but
now he's in Austria, in the East. And by the way, they also received money from ESA as well.
Agent-based model, that's a project.
All right, you're running out of time. You better make it quick.
Okay, so the last project I'd like to show, one more project, Cosmos for Humanity. Everybody knows, please support.
And the last project, it's a project called Agent-Based Model of Heterogeneous Lunar Communications.
It's a project of, it's a new, the guy just started to view his first project.
He's space, he's systems engineer at Planet Lab. Super cool guy, super serious.
Actually, this project, the past, the third stage of DARPA, Lunar 10 proposal.
However, on the second stage, they declined the project because they get afraid of the DAO standing behind,
the project. That's almost all the proof of the projects. Thanks for the time. I tried to, I, yeah, back to you, back to you and everyone else.
All right, we'll give you a pass this one time because you shield like 18 projects in three minutes.
So I'll give you a pass on that. How we'd like it to be done is you'll just come up here and you'll say something like,
I want you all to know about the Psychedelic Puppet Show DAO, a decentralized community that creates educational,
fun and creative content around psychedelic science, therapy, history, cultural practices and spirituality.
Their project begins with a captivating conversation between Paul Stanitz and Rick Doblin,
exploring the possibilities of psychedelics in creating a happier, healthier global community.
With over 120,000 views on YouTube and a strong social media presence, their impact is undeniable.
The show conceived as a Web3 platform aims to match creatives with storytellers to share their psychedelic knowledge and experiences with a global audience.
I'm going to put them up on the Jumbotron above. That's the kind of thing we're looking for here.
Green Digital, Guardians, show us what you got.
I'm going to share two projects because I can decide.
The first one is La Madriguera that is an amazing, amazing guy.
It is helping to have a big space full of priests so kids and families can go and enjoy the place.
So shout out to La Madriguera. I'm going to pin La Madriguera in the Jumbotron.
And I can't skip Impact Market because I really love Impact Market.
Impact Market empowers communities through the universal basic income.
And they are also developing a credit platform to allow people to access financial service.
Amazing. That's the way it's done. I appreciate that.
Make sure you get both of their Explorer links down in the comments and we'll make sure they get plugged into the Jumbotron.
If you put it in the comments on the thread, then it'll live on with the recording as well.
Hopefully all of you out there are filling your shopping carts as we speak.
And I might as well take a moment to welcome Carlos, my good friend, my compadre, my partner in crime.
How are you doing today, brother?
GM, GM to everyone. Stoked to be here.
Wrapping up another GG festival, grants funding festival.
I'm really stoked about this.
And I want to see, could I give it a, could I give it a shot to do the quick shill real quick?
It won't be, it won't be for Webster Beach, but.
It's okay. I would love it if you did.
All right. Here's a, here's a quick shill.
Put me on the clock and let me know when I can start.
All right, let's hear it.
Hey everyone. I'm Carlos Belgar and today I want to shill Mi Costa de Oro.
It's an amazing community in Venezuela.
They use crypto to reward everyone participating in beach cleanups.
They also use crypto to incentivize participation or attendance at their little school that they've established themselves because the government no longer runs a school there.
They pay their teachers for it.
They provide free meals for the kids every single day.
And they pay their parents one die per day per child that it sends a school.
I really appreciate you supporting this.
They've also started paying for local products and services like cell phone repairs, tuk-tuk rides, street food, and just basic needs at local stores as well.
Using crypto all done on a layer two.
So I'd really appreciate you supporting them.
I'm going to pin that above.
And what an amazing grant.
I got to make sure I get that one in my, my cart.
I'm trying to hit the most loving.
I don't know if I'm going to do it.
There's some, there's some hot contenders, but I'm coming for, for Ben, for sure.
Uh, you know, I think he's, uh, and then Jimmy's trying to catch up with me.
I don't know if he's probably not in the audience.
He's probably over in the, uh, growed out space, but anyway, I digress.
We finally got you back up on stage.
I bet you want to tell us about some amazing grants.
There are, there are quite a few that I have in my cart.
Um, uh, there, that I am a huge fan of.
So web three beach obviously is one of them.
I have to mention, um, solar foundation is fantastic.
I have waxed poetic about, um, because I think it does a lot of really important things, uh,
with regards to education and explaining to people in a way that makes sense.
But I think the one that I want to bring up today is I'm, I'm, I'm, I've got two.
They're both in the climate solutions round.
And I don't think Weiland has been on these spaces so much.
Uh, but, uh, he's a regular in the Nouns ecosystem.
We actually funded the, uh, start of the 501 C3 of city farmers with food Nouns, uh, as
one of our first props there.
And it's basically just setting up, um, farming ecosystems within urban areas where it might
be harder to get fresh vegetables and doing this with like, you know, these hydroponic
things and the setup, and it's a nonprofit basically to first starting in Chicago, but
then moving out to other areas where it's, it's hard to get fresh veggies that are, um,
And a lot of people who don't have that much money have a hard time getting healthy food.
And this is one of the ways that that is possible to do.
I'm going to put a link to both of these in the description, but I want to make sure that
So the other one is, uh, La Madriguera, um, by one of our regulars over on the Noun Square
that's always in the audience.
And it's just, uh, reforesting in, uh, in Guatemala.
And I think, you know, I am more excited about this because of the passion of the people involved
that I am necessary because we've all seen, you know, tree replanting projects, but it's
very rare that I see one with people who are this determined and this focused on doing what
they do and, you know, are going so far out of the way to make it feasible long-term.
You know, a lot of people will do this type of project is like, you know, at least in stateside,
a lot of people do this kind of thing is like a summer getaway type deal.
You know, I'm going to plant a bunch of trees this summer.
And then they move on with their lives.
These people are devoted to it.
And I think that's really, really cool to see.
And I really, really want to support that.
I think I made it in well under a minute.
I just wanted to add on La Madriguera.
La Madriguera, I do know that the person behind it is very noun-ish.
He's in like, in all of the noun spaces that I jump into, but also.
He's literally there every day.
He's more consistent than I am.
There's, there's also this amazing before and after photo that shows their, their work,
the results of their work from six years.
And it's just amazing to see, I'm going to try to dig that up and pin it above.
I'm, I'm finding it right now.
Do you want to take it, take it away?
Uh, should I post, uh, above or should I throw it in the comments?
The good thing about tossing in the comments first is that then it'll live on in, into the
recording and then you can pin that post up top.
So I would do both personally.
You faded in and then faded out.
Um, I kind of want to, to show for all the security peeps across the board, uh, kind
of specifically calling out, um, boring security.
Anyone can take a revoke cash.
Um, scion crypto shields down below.
Uh, they will help you no matter what.
They don't ask for anything.
They actually have bots behind the scenes that proactively kind of stop stuff.
Any of us, uh, or any of them, you can go ahead and DM and they'll be more than happy
Uh, a good night bot is a free discord bot that any server owners, if you have a discord,
you can install it and it'll completely stop scam, uh, spam and scam links to really protect
Uh, who else am I missing here?
Uh, intelligence on chain.
Uh, if you guys have any questions or if you actually, unfortunately get the funds stolen,
he can kind of guide you to hopefully make a, you know, a report to police or anywhere
to, to kind of get something back.
John's a fellow discord, uh, security guru.
Uh, if you're looking for audits, um, scam, he has a scam hunt.
That's really good for, uh, proactive scams or, you know, pocket universe.
That's a free tool that also helps protect you.
And then plum, she is an absolute export and you can always DM her for anything free.
Uh, I just wanted to kind of shout out all the security people cause they do a lot of
work behind the scenes with no compensation, just cause this is our passion.
And if you guys ever have any doubts, questions, or need any assistance, if something happens,
all the DMs are open and anyone will help you free, no charge, all this kind of stuff, just
cause we want to make sure you stay protected.
I think that was 60 seconds on the dot.
And I appreciate you chilling all the security folks.
I, I'm a big fan of, of all the work that all of you do to, uh, to keep us all safer at
Um, we've got a good friend, Ben West up here.
Do you have a project you want to shill or what do you think of my friend?
Uh, great to be here with all of you.
I am here as a lowly community member to talk about one of my favorite grantees.
Um, I, uh, first of all, you guys are killing it.
This is like, we were just talking about how much cooler it is when people show each other
instead of showing themselves.
It like feels like, I don't know, it just feels good.
It feels good to show other people.
Um, so yeah, uh, you know, the very first grantee that I ever onboarded into get coin,
um, is a project called beyond fossil fuels, uh, which unfortunately, uh,
my friend Tara, who is, uh, you know, one of the people who is like kind of facilitating
making this project a reality has been sick the last couple of weeks.
And, you know, it's just not been feeling up to coming on spaces.
So great opportunity to say, uh, check out beyond fossil fuels in the climate round.
I think it's in the community round too.
I think it's actually just in the climate round.
Um, but long story short, it's a project to support indigenous activists fighting against
Um, it's a group of people that Tara and I have worked with for years.
I've done lots of fundraising for over the years.
Uh, and when the climate round first was launched, uh, I was like, this is the first people that
came to my mind of like people that we should be raising money for.
Uh, and it's been amazing to see the web three community come together and put money behind,
uh, you know, this amazing project.
It's already funded, uh, indigenous legal challenges through, uh, this, uh, law firm Raven,
uh, which does all kinds of good work and has supported a group called the tiny house warriors,
uh, as well as an amazing guy named Ruben George, uh, you know, is from, uh, the West
coast of Canada and has been fighting against this one particular pipeline.
Uh, one of those legal challenges actually was against a liquefied natural gas plant funded
by a group called shell, believe it or not.
Uh, funny little world that we live in where, uh, you know, there's a wide range of different
things happening within any one particular grants.
So, uh, that is my shell.
Uh, please consider looking at BFF, uh, beyond fossil fuels.
Uh, the Twitter account is BFF underscore campaign.
Um, yeah, it's, uh, it's been a project for a very long time.
Uh, you know, before, uh, being involved in the web three space and is now, you know,
finding ways to, uh, you know, use crypto to fund, uh, amazing activists on the ground,
And yes, they are doing such, such great work.
And I think a perfect time to also highlight another, uh, project that, that she works on
cause, uh, she's one of these amazing folks that has got her, you know, that is just doing
so much, uh, for our planet and has been for so long, uh, along with our good friend,
Ben, you know, the, the two of them have been climate activists for, for longer than most
And whether it's the refi space or, or the climate space in general, uh, you know, the
accolades of, of you both and the things that you've accomplished has been outstanding.
But, um, another one of the organizations that, uh, that Tara helps to run is called
elephant in the room and it's a strategic climate solutions grant.
Uh, they're decentralized campaign organization on a mission to tackle climate change head
They work with indigenous organizations, web three entities, voting organizations, and
They're countering fossil fuel advertising and disinformation with their strategic messaging
and innovative campaigns.
They're bringing climate action to communities worldwide with virtual races to converse from
virtual races to conversations with responsible economic development.
Their projects are making a real impact by supporting this grant.
You'll be part of the movement to create a sustainable future and turn apathy into heroism.
And, uh, I'll make sure to pin that grant up there as well.
They've been in the climate round for, I don't know, four or five, at least maybe longer rounds.
Uh, similarly doing some amazing work, I think, especially with the work they're doing with
indigenous organizations who, uh, you know, due to insane colonization across the entire
world, uh, I've been incredibly disenfranchised, but are fighting hard for their land and rights,
whether it's water rights or just the rights of their land.
This tends to be the place where all these big oil companies want to run a pipeline right
through their sacred grounds.
And, uh, this is an organization that's been working really hard to, to make it, uh, possible
So, uh, another one I would love to see folks adding to their cart.
Uh, let's go ahead and jump to, Oh, it looks like we maybe need to get some more folks up
Let's see if I can get a few of these folks up here.
I'm so glad you came up and shield a little bit.
Um, I don't know, Carlos, you got another, uh, one quick while we wait for some folks to
As a matter of fact, I do.
There's another really cool project in Tokyo.
It's called Tokyo river friends.
They've been doing weekly beach or weekly river cleanups for over six years.
And, uh, the first time they've ever received funding was GG 18.
And they use that funding to get some, um, like weed cutters out them removed a lot of
the excess growth around the river.
And that's helped them just multiply the amount of trash.
They're able to take out off the rivers.
And they're in a really interesting situation because this is work that the local government
in like a really developed country, like Japan, isn't willing to do actually fighting
with the government all the time because they clean up the trash and then they put it in
the place where, uh, the, the local trash collectors can come pick it up.
And then the trash collectors get upset at them for collecting so much trash.
So I, I really love the work that they're doing.
They're, uh, they're not able to make the show spaces because of the time differences.
And, uh, I'm, I'm just really stoked to see their, their increased work and they're very,
very, very appreciative of the funding that they received from get coin.
Um, so that's, that's my next show.
I'll find, I'll find that link and pin it up above.
And yes, I, I have been amazed, uh, you know, just to give props to you in general, the,
the amount of impact onboarding, uh, I feel like you really invented this idea of impact
onboarding and then it really taking it to so many parts of the globe to, to see this
movement growing that, that you really started with web three beach, I think is just amazing.
And I think anybody out there that's trying to onboard communities to web three needs to
Cause I think he's truly a master of it and has learned so much.
And I just want more and more people to learn about, you know, how you've done it.
And, and the success that you've had and, and, and the stumbling blocks as well.
There's no sense in, in us, uh, stumbling along when you've paved the way.
So really appreciate you, my friend.
Uh, we just had a good friend, uh, I think it's Chidi, uh, with the social, uh, helpers
social, uh, development foundation pop on the stage, but I would love to shill your grant
before we get you to, uh, to talk about one of the projects that's important to you.
Um, maybe you can mute real quick Chidi.
Uh, my name is Sokeke Chidi.
Uh, the, the story I'm going, I'm sharing is how, uh, Solar, uh, Solar Foundation,
GitCon community are helping us to make a difference in our community.
Uh, our organization, HEPA Foundation is a non-profit organization started in 2016.
Since, uh, we started, we have been imparting the life of children to ensure that they have
Uh, because currently, uh, Nigeria have a 20 million children out of school.
And, uh, without education, there's no way they can break a sack of poverty.
So, since we started, we have, uh, uh, we started school.
We have children go to school free of charge because we know this only, uh, the education
is only a child needs in order to escape poverty.
So, and, uh, the, the, the, the, the, the school now is offering free education.
And, uh, we thank the Solar Foundation for the support we receive because the school we
have, the, the community we have, the school, which is Soji River, have no electricity.
Without the help of, we receive, uh, from, uh, Solar Foundation, there's no way we'll
be able to teach, uh, these children the charge, which we are currently doing today.
The Solar Foundation donated solar system, we are, we are using it to, uh, serving the,
the, the school and also the community member using it to charge their phones and the, the
And, uh, we also, uh, we, we, we, we, we distribute, uh, school supplies to, uh, rural
communities in need of education.
So these are what few things we have been doing.
And, uh, there are one coming project now, we, we are, which funded by Solar Foundation.
We are, we'll be starting community initiative.
We are, we'll be teaching, uh, youth and women digital skills because we believe so much
Technology can make, can reduce, uh, can help us to reduce unemployment rate in, in Nigeria.
So, this, uh, solar, uh, the community, community, community, community development
initiative will help to reduce, uh, unemployment rate in, uh, in our community.
So, uh, we just, uh, plan for everyone to help us so that we'll be able to control to doing
Thank you so much, my friend.
Um, I appreciate you shilling the Solar Foundation and, and our work.
Um, let me, I know you shilled a little bit, but let me, let me show the, the helper social
development foundation a little bit because, uh, it is one that was on my list, uh, did share
up top, but a project that combines teaching web three and digital skills with supporting
vulnerable children to go to school.
Imagine the impact of breaking the cycle of poverty through education, creating opportunities
for income growth and sustainable development with 20 million children in Nigeria out of
This initiative aims to provide free education and teach digital skills and web three to vulnerable
And by supporting this project, you can help offer access to education and empower these
children to become change agents in their community.
Uh, and I just, the, the amount of impact that, that, uh, that Chidi is having in the world.
It's really, uh, it blows me away and we're, we're happy to play just a small part in that
and, and, uh, with, with the solar, but really it's the work that you do every day.
That's, that's making the biggest impact.
So I appreciate you, uh, friend and great to have you on stage.
Um, let's jump over to, I'm a little out of order here, but going to jump over to, I'm
guessing it's wasabi with coconut.
Yo, I'm so happy of, uh, how, how far Carlos has, uh, you know, like it's crazy.
Like one year ago, like, uh, stuff was so different.
Um, I'm very proud of Carlos.
He's like, you know, Latino gang, bro.
Um, about, uh, talking about shilling, I want to show the green list.
I made this collection called the green list and I have included like many great projects.
Uh, and one of them is the solar foundation, uh, COCO DAO.
I, uh, I included, um, fun PG, open civics, public nouns, evergreen coin, uh, region build,
mess of reef down, um, a bunch of more cool projects.
Um, please, uh, go check out that, that collection.
Um, I'm pretty sure that you're gonna find out many, uh, public rates.
Um, especially like solar foundation for me is doing something huge cause growing up in
DR, uh, I had to use gas lamps.
So, so I was, so, uh, so I'm able to study.
Um, yeah, for me, like, uh, having a stable electricity is, is huge in, in, in our type of country.
So, yeah, uh, that, that was all.
And yes, I was so excited to see your collection.
I really appreciate you including us in it, but definitely check out that collection.
A lot of amazing projects.
Um, you know, you might learn about something new that you'd like to support out there in
the final hours of GG 19.
Let's jump to refi Median.
Sorry, my friend that we, uh, we hopped the line.
Uh, I've, you've been up here for a while.
So I wanted to see the project of coconut down cook.
Is it Coco Dow from Anna?
They are representing, uh, in, uh, forest in Colombia.
That's why we are really interesting in them too, because we are also in Colombia.
So it's a really nice project and it's really, like, it's really near us.
So it's, it's really nice to, to have them.
I'm glad, uh, to have you up here, Sheila and somebody else.
Uh, if you want to drop a link to it in the, in the chat, we'll make sure it gets up top as well.
Um, and then let's jump to, uh, Sonny.
Can I, can you hear me guys?
Loud and clear, my friend.
Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity.
And I'm going to, uh, chill.
They are so amazing project.
I love this amazing project.
Training rural farmers and indigenous communities on regenerative agriculture.
Providing women and girls with the new skills for economic empowerment.
And planting fruit trees in schools and health centers.
They are so amazing project with ambitious goals.
And I support them and about two or three days ago.
And I'm so happy about that.
This is, this is my shield about others.
Everyone that support us and Uganda.
Again, thank you so much, John and Gitcoin community for this amazing opportunity.
Another project that is near and dear to my heart.
So I'm very glad to, to hear somebody shilling them for sure.
Um, yeah, if you drop their, their link in the comments, we'll get it pinned up above.
If not, I can probably dig that one up as well.
Um, and let's go over to eco wealth.
Uh, it's great to see the Gitcoin, um, ecosystem continue to evolve.
Um, my shill is, uh, evergreen coin.
I like, uh, I like their, uh, idea of rewarding environmental work via video and photo documentation
and, you know, uh, descriptions and continually doing that for the last, uh, five years or
Um, that's like the application I use pretty consistently.
And I, and I was kind of wondering while I'm here, um, has anyone like done something similar,
but distributed, uh, like, uh, cause I, I want to like create something as well for the next
Uh, I want to do like a, uh, get coin passport, you use get coin passport and you can submit
any kind of proof of work you have around a particular project, even like almost anything
I mean, you're, you're kind of sharing what you do for work and you're engaging with crypto
and you're, you're scaling, uh, crypto as you share your work with the world.
And I'm just wondering if anyone else has created that.
I would want to create that for every single layer two and, uh, figure out some kind of like
happy medium on how to distribute what to distribute and how much work should be submitted and kind
of figuring out a community that can vet that work.
Um, it sounds pretty simple.
I mean, it's kind of essentially whatever green coins already doing, but it's a little bit more,
uh, on the Ethereum chain itself on the layer two scaling that it's doing.
I really appreciate the idea, but we're trying to fast track these shills here because we're
We have a hard stop at the end of the hour.
So thank you so much for, for the first show and also for sharing your ideas, but I'd love
to get the next speaker up.
So, um, raise your hand if you want to show, if you've already shield, please drop off so
we can get the other, the other speakers up on the stage.
So I believe next first, uh, let's do a, let's do a segue with robot fish girl.
Let's get another speaker up here.
Uh, I think we've got refi.
I keep trying to approve you and I have no idea why it's not working.
So you might want to jump off and then rejoin.
I, I think the next one, at least I was going to say, uh, and I, hopefully I say this right,
but please correct me if not, but, uh, Camya maybe, uh, I think is up on stage and, and
has not, uh, has not shield yet.
Uh, I, uh, thank you so much, uh, for this opportunity.
Uh, my name is Oscar Martin Scania.
Um, uh, located in Uganda and so I was born in Uganda.
So, uh, like, um, uh, today I'm here to present, like, two projects.
One is, uh, my, uh, impact market has a mobile banker where we give people money, uh, uh, in a circle way,
whereby, uh, we offer loans, uh, after using, then you bring back, then another person, uh, could use, uh,
with only an interest rate of, uh, 0.2 per day.
Uh, then another project, uh, uh, that I work with is vulnerable UG communities.
Uh, like, like, this is a platform where, like, communities in Uganda combine together to, uh, to raise for their funds
in order to support, uh, their goals.
And I think in this, uh, like, it contains over 30 communities within Uganda.
And, uh, it has an experience of, of so far seven years and everything is moving well.
So, uh, like, the only challenge, uh, that we have been, uh, having is, uh, to, uh, like, getting any web three
that can fund this project or can support this project.
Uh, but so far everything has been moving well.
Uh, and, uh, I think impact market has been trying to support some of the communities that falls under their pilots.
That's all about my project.
I want to get Kyle Smith.
And then immediately after Kyle Smith, we're going to go with Jimmy, uh, from tree gens.
And, uh, just to remind both of you that we're doing fast shill it forwards.
So don't show your project, shill another project and try to do it in a minute.
Oh, it's a, it's another project.
Well then can I go after tree gens?
Cause I, uh, I have to pick one.
Uh, tree gens, you're up next.
Don't show your own project and try to do it.
I'll try to do it very concise.
Uh, but I'd love to get a few of them in there.
So I'm going to try to squeeze them in.
So coconut network is a coconut plantation.
Moloch Dow doing great things.
Cocoa Dow is reducing deforestation in Columbia region.
Build is incentivizing sustainable construction.
Solarpunk Dow is trying to, um, grow the, uh, Solarpunk paradigm through their earth token
with directly, uh, impact invest in.
Uh, from your impact, um, from your impact photos that you submit to them and King
Farad is reducing deforestation in Columbia region.
Build is incentivizing sustainable construction.
Solarpunk Dow is trying to, um, grow the, uh, Solarpunk paradigm through their earth token
with directly, uh, impact invest in sustainable things.
Aluces is protecting tropical rainforest through conservation economies using web three
tech and building regenerative future.
Jerry Brutride better is putting their values back into valuables by creating mosaics
from your impact, um, from your impact photos that you submit to them.
And King Fisher is, um, is doing regenerative education and all kinds of web three education,
uh, really pioneered the 24 seven, uh, concept of spaces with social bees and is a great human.
So those are a few shills.
I wanted to do actually all 50 stewards, but we definitely don't have time.
So for now, that doesn't even, even, even you can't.
Thank you so much there, Jimmy.
Uh, I'm gonna, I'm gonna use this moment between shills between Jimmy and Kyle to promote TNS,
So the now square creates all sorts of it's a media collective creating all sorts of educational,
entertaining educational content, uh, that helps, uh, newbies and OGs, uh, navigate the space
Uh, I'm sure that's not a great of a shill as a robot or 40 could do.
And, uh, one thing I do want to, want to highlight is that they do high quality content.
It's not just, uh, you know, some random person doing a selfie video or something.
Well, I've got two of them.
Um, one of them is Eli five Dow stands for explain it.
Like I'm five years old, decentralized autonomous organization.
Uh, they review tools created for decentralized organizations and explain their use in an easy
And the reviews are published for public consumption.
So others can make educated and better informed decisions when creating the tool stack for their
project and or Dow and the reviews they do are for really fantastic projects in this space.
So they pick, uh, quite judiciously about what they spend their time on.
Uh, so do check out Eli five Dow.
And then the other one I'd like to go shout out to is Dow club.
Uh, Dow club is community for active Dow builders to unite, share knowledge and grow together.
Uh, their vision is to kickstart and fuel the growth of at least a thousand successful
And their mission is to empower Dow builders by providing them with the knowledge network
resources and support they need to succeed.
Uh, I'm personally a member of Dow club.
It's a really fantastic network and they run on colony, which is a really interesting, uh,
a doubt protocol that has things like decay.
If you, if you're not an active, uh, contributor.
So yeah, do check out Eli five as well as doubt club.
Thanks for letting me show.
Thanks for hopping up and I appreciate you.
And, uh, I'd be happy to show the, uh, the, the Lex Dow for you because I'm a big fan.
Lex Dow is a amazing organization that is helping, uh, web three groups with, uh, some of their
They provide, um, uh, legal support, uh, in, especially for early stage, uh, projects.
Uh, they can't give official legal advice, but they can definitely point you in the right
direction to get, uh, any of your questions answered as you're starting up a new business
And that's the first show I'm doing without my AI friend telling me what to say.
So that's why I'm stumbling all around, but, uh, Lex Dow is amazing.
You should check them out, especially if you have any legal needs on the, uh, web three
side, they're experts and have dealt with a lot of different issues and, and can, uh, definitely
get you on the, the way to, uh, to solving for your legal problems, which are trouble in
So, um, so appreciate you Kyle and all that you do.
Uh, also want to shill very quick.
My friend Dominic, I believe he's down in the audience or was a second ago.
Uh, he is got a project called be apiculture, uh, where the buzz is all about saving the bees
and creating a sweeter future.
This project called the pollen buzz initiative is on a mission to empower communities through
beekeeping operating in South India.
They provide that's not right operating in Kenya.
They provide comprehensive services like beekeeping training, hive setup assistance and guidance
on honey harvesting by promoting sustainable beekeeping practices.
They not only protect the wellbeing of bees and their environment, but also generate sustainable
They got a little bit of a late start getting into the round.
So I would love folks to, to give them some support and your, your last donations in the
Thank you so much for letting me continue to chime on.
We're going to go on to open campus next.
Good evening to everyone from Turkey.
Um, first of all, in, uh, climate solutions category, we could not make an evaluation and
prioritization, uh, among the projects in climate solution category.
Uh, because we see that all of them are willing to contribute and, uh, strive for climate justice,
regeneration and public goods with their projects.
Um, they present and advocate for the same purpose, uh, we think in different domain and
Uh, for that reason, we supported all climate solutions projects equally and appreciating
the value each one brings.
Um, in education and community category, we first of all give shilling to university
blockchain clubs from Turkey.
Uh, they are really active in Turkish blockchain ecosystem.
One of them is YouTube blockchain and the other one is auto, uh, blockchain clubs.
Um, they serve as an incubator for young developers.
So they are really important, not just for Turkish ecosystem, blockchain ecosystem, but also
Uh, we continue to examine projects for, uh, who else we can support, uh, in the last
Thank you so much for joining and sharing.
I have to say after spending some time in Istanbul for Def Connect, I came back so bullish
We are waiting you to Izmir to open campus next summer.
I, I, I hope to visit for sure.
Um, I would, so I w I want to show, uh, Earthist who is participating in the climate round.
I'm going to find his link and show it above.
He's making this amazing, um, amazing products out of hemp.
And I really, I got to meet him.
He was a really great person and I'm excited to see him continue participating in the get
Um, who do we have next Oasis?
I keep trying to accept you and it's not working.
Can you please jump off the Twitter and then jump back in and hopefully we can give you an
And I think up next, we have think decade.
So couple of the project that I want to show real quick.
Number one is public good Africa.
So public good Africa is pioneering a new era of public good and public good funding in
Africa through number one, public good education.
Number two, running key of rounds for impact projects across Africa.
Number three, building a platform to aggregate impacts, uh, in Africa.
And the last one is, um, connecting projects to various public goods, uh, funding opportunities.
Um, and so the project has been doing well with helping, uh, various projects in Africa to
apply for get coin rounds and, um, very recently to give it, um, give it around.
So yeah, shout out to public good Africa.
The next one is bankless Africa, which is basically accelerating capacity building, economic empowerment,
and financial sovereignty through decentralized education, community building, and, um, impact
Shout out to Carlos for the impact onboarding theme.
The next one is eat.acra, which is basically bringing IRL hackathon to West Africa.
So shout out to eat.acra.
The next one is DeFi Africa.
And DeFi Africa is basically helping to raise developers to build DeFi, um, DeFi protocols, and
also connect to existing DeFi protocols.
That's kind of resonated with the African audience or the African users.
Um, and so, yeah, this is my show for it.
And, uh, shout out to all of these space hosts.
I love seeing the, the growing presence of African impact projects in our GG rounds.
John, what do you think about that?
We've seen, uh, we've seen, I think the, the Gitcoins grant space diversify a lot in the
And I know that you're doing a lot of work all over the world, uh, including Latin America
So do you have any thoughts on that?
I think we've seen really more and more projects.
And I think, you know, my, my personal take on it is that crypto tools are more useful
for people that are unbanked or have trouble getting banking services, uh, and or dealing
with currencies that are, you know, inflating and fluctuating current, uh, you know, continuously
that crypto provides a way for people to become banked.
Uh, it provides for borderless transactions.
It provides potential for more stable, uh, money just to hold your money in, in, uh, some
kind of stable token versus, uh, a, uh, local currency, I think is, is a safer bet for some
people as they begin to understand how that works.
Um, and so I just think that these tools, uh, provide so many more benefits for folks in,
on the African continent and Latam, et cetera, where, um, you know, where governments generally
are failing people in terms of their money and, and they really don't get the support
Uh, all of these tools are tools that while it does require a certain amount of education
and that's where, you know, folks that are doing education around crypto and these tools
and how people can begin to use them in their, their everyday lives.
Uh, I think that that's, what's bridging the gap and bringing more and more people on.
And in turn, that's where we're seeing more projects that are doing some of those education
and community building around crypto.
Um, yeah, so I'm, I'm super bullish on it because I think for the most part, some of the
early days of crypto in, from my perspective have been a lot more about speculative casino
Uh, and, you know, I guess it had its place.
It grew our market market to the, the trillion dollars it is today.
Uh, the multi trillions it was at one point, you know, that that's, that is what the gambling
But now that we have that overall, you know, value locked in crypto, now we can actually
use it for real world things.
And I think that real world use cases, we see so much at more of that in, in places
besides, you know, kind of the Northern world, you know, people in the U S people in Europe,
for the most part, we don't necessarily need it for our daily lives.
It's more of a speculative investment, uh, kind of thing.
And so that's, that's my thinking on it, but yeah, man, you're so, you're so spot on.
And I think, uh, just on the writing on the tails of, uh, having projects here representing
the African continent, Latin America, um, I showed projects in Asia.
I, I want to, I guess, kind of start closing out the space by, uh, shilling all of the bankless
They're doing amazing work all around the world.
And I'm very, very bullish.
I know they've, they've supported, they've reached out to support web through beach communities
And, um, I mean, like they've migrated the bank token to optimism and create a liquidity
pools there to allow the community members in Venezuela, for example, to be able to, to
receive basically double their income for, for doing beach cleanups and then, uh, facilitating
the trade of the token as well.
So that they're not stuck in bank.
Uh, so I think that's just a great example of, of ways that they've supported and they've
never even, you know, gone and tweeted about it or try to like cloud chase based on that.
They just like genuinely had an interest in supporting the project.
I think that's a great example, just from personal experience that I've had with them.
I've also collabed with them on, on various, uh, like governance proposals, uh, around different
So I can personally say that they are creating lots of value and it's really unfortunate to
see so many people on, on, uh, on CT, which I apparently stands for synthesis, cynicism,
So yeah, I just want to be supportive of them and, uh, encourage all of you to contribute
to them because they are doing real work that really helps us drive the space forward.
And I want to get just giving them a shout out.
And thanks to everyone that's contributing to any other bankless, uh, sub down all around
I got mad love for y'all.
And, uh, that's it for me, John, any, any closing remarks?
Um, you know, I think just on that note, you know, for all of you out there, we do all
spend a lot of time here on this platform.
And unfortunately the algorithm incentivizes people to, uh, you know, to, to cause, you
know, cynicism and, and, uh, shitty takes and, and, you know, it, it just, it incentivizes
us to hate on things, not, not share all the great things that are going on.
And so I'd encourage all of you to be keeping an eye on your timeline and really trying to
amplify those, uh, tweets and, and initiatives, projects, et cetera, that are actually doing
great things in the world.
I think that there's a lot of great things coming out of this space and those things get
And as soon as there's a controversy, 8 billion people pile on.
And I just think that we all have to work together to start to, to fight against the
algorithm and really amplify the things that are, that are making a difference and really touch
So, uh, anytime you see those, those projects, those, those tweets, those things that, that
really are doing something good in the world, really try and give that the support, give
Like, you know, I don't know if that's going to actually have us beat the algo, but, uh,
it at least gets the word out a little bit more, uh, because if not, we're, we're kind
of in trouble cause we are in a little bit of a crypto bubble here and it's, uh, it's feeding
things that are not working more than things that are.
So, uh, let's all work together on that.
And hopefully we'll have other socials in the future that maybe have, uh, a little different
algorithms and, and really are promoting, uh, all the good work that's happening in the
So, uh, glad that we could shill so many great projects today.
Uh, make sure you all on that note, share this, uh, space, uh, one last time with maybe
a, even a quote tweet that, Hey, uh, those that are filling their carts in these final
hours, here's some amazing projects in the, in the thread that they might want to donate
So let's, let's try and amplify this space a little bit, get the word out on all these
great grants that everybody's been shilling it forward.
Appreciate everybody for doing that.
Uh, really the giving is the getting in life.
And so, uh, appreciate you all, uh, giving away, uh, a little information about all the
So on that note, we'll see you again next week for another great community space.
Uh, probably be a bit of a wrap up on GG 19, but look forward to seeing you all again
And always a shout out to Matilda for holding down the, uh, Mama Gatecoin account.
Oh, and shout out to my moms.
