I'm like thinking I'm on the end of the world here on the West, but I'm like, oh, it's probably morning on the East.
I've heard it's round. I can't confirm or deny. I don't know. I'm pretty sure.
How are you doing today, Ben? How are we feeling on this last finale space?
Honestly, I'm kind of shooketh that the round is ending. How did that happen? That happened so quickly. Didn't it just start like yesterday? I'm confused.
Yeah. It's so funny because everyone I've been speaking to has been saying the exact same thing, that it's gone by so fast. And I just wonder why. We must just be having so much fun. I don't know.
I don't know. Time flies. Time flies when you're having fun. That is the explanation.
That's what they say. That is the way she goes. Well, you know, it's been a wild ride and I've been very happy to be on it with all of you amazing human beings.
Mm hmm. Right back at you. Every round just gets better and more vibey. And yeah, it's just it's been great. So I'm so happy that you could join us today as well.
Welcome. How are you doing today to be here? I'm in my truck in my truck. I actually had to go and do some some errands. And so I'm hanging out in the truck as I talk to you here in the metaverse. So happy to be here as well.
That was like the most American I've heard soft sound right there. He was like, I'm in my truck.
You like that? Do they even have those in Canada? You know?
Oh, yeah. So why are we here? What's going on? You know, I think we should assume everybody here knows what what Gitcoin is. But, you know, maybe not. Who knows? Maybe maybe you're just randomly showing up here. You're like, what is this wild space?
Should we? Yeah, who knows? Yeah, let's do let's I mean, let's do the usual. We can do a round of intros, a little bit of introduction to Gitcoin to G20. I mean, if you are joining us, if you are here already, please share, retweet, quote tweet this space. I think there's another ARB reward waiting for you. If you do quote tweet the space. Correct me if I'm wrong, Ben.
Double the reward. Double the reward today.
Double the reward. Look at that. So yeah, let's get the word out that this closing space, this finale is happening. It's going to be two hours. So it's going to be two hours until the round officially closes. We'll be counting it down together. It's going to be great. So let's get everyone involved. And let's get everyone out here.
I guess I'll start. Hi, for those of you who don't know me, I'm my name is Matilda. You can see my personal PFP in the speakers, in the speakers, that's me. And I'm the Gitcoin grant comms lead. I will throw it over to you, Ben.
Hello. Hello, hello. My name is Ben. I do grant things with grant people. And I enjoy them very much. I'm part of the grants lab team at Gitcoin, been around the Gitcoin world for a couple years. And I am now the community engagement lead for Thrive Protocol, who's the organization behind ThankArb and ThankArbitrum, who we also have on stage with us.
Great to have you guys. Great to have you up here, Julian, who's hanging out behind the ThankArb account today. Yeah, so that is me. And let's see, who else do we got up here?
Is Sov still here? I am Sov. There he is. Yeah, I am here. I'm Sov. I do grantee things as well for Gitcoin, and it is good to be here.
That is the understatement of the year, sir.
It sure is. I was actually asking Sov earlier. I'm like, how do you do everything that you do? It's amazing.
Chat GPT. That's my answer.
You just got to be able to work from your truck. That's basically how it goes.
Basically, yeah. It's really just chat GPT. That's how I do everything I do.
Nice. And Claude. Claude these days is quite good, you know. So you use them both, and it's amazing what you can get done.
2.0, really great. 2.5 seemed to kind of, I don't know, something weird happened, and then 3 is even better. So, yeah, I'm all on board with Claude. Let's go.
I got to check that out myself at some stage. It sounds amazing. Thank Arb. Julian, you want to say hello? Thank you for joining us.
Of course. I've been in the audience this entire time, every single spaces, but you know how Twitter is with accounts and it needing to be behind mobile, but happy to be here.
I can't believe it's the finale. If you guys are looking for the Arb reward, I did reply with this Gitcoin Spaces. If you look below, you'll see a link. If you want to claim your reward, get some juicy, juicy Arb.
Juicy, juicy Arb. I love it.
I just want to say, Julian and I have just started working together in the Thrive world, and man, he just jumped in headfirst and totally crushed it in this round.
A lot of those contribution listings you're seeing, he put them up, all the meme contest and all the fun memes and content that just has come out of the Thank Arbitrum account.
Yeah, big fan of this guy, Julian, who's hanging out in our team now. Thank you for being up on stage with us, sir. Great to have you here.
Great to be here.
Only echo what you said there, Ben. It's been super fun and super wonderful collaborating with Thank Arb this round.
OpenCivics, I'm assuming it's Benjamin behind that account. Hello.
GM, GM, always lovely to be with you, incredible humans. A little bit about OpenCivics, since we're introducing ourselves.
OpenCivics is a civic innovation consortium that uses a DAO as a mechanism to create a non-rivalrous network of builders who are creating civic innovations,
which can be anything that helps communities better steward our commons and our world.
And so we just completed, we're about to complete our second round. And we've learned so much doing these rounds. We've grown so much as a consortium through these rounds.
I was just sharing on our stewards call earlier today that, you know, by funding grantees who are engaged in this non-rivalrous network of innovators,
we're really funding collaborative potentials that can happen when the members of our network are well-resourced to do what they want to do.
Because inherent to everything that's going on between all the different projects in the network is the spirit of collaboration and interoperability and designing things that are modular and feedback into each other.
And so this is, we're kicking off a summer of local organizing, of distributed research on protocols,
and so many amazing things that just come out of this process of coalescing around these grant rounds.
So very grateful to be here. Amazing round, our best so far, and we're looking forward to many more to come.
Would it be inappropriate to say you give me life, sir, Mr. Benjamin life?
Well, and you give me West, Mr. Benjamin West.
We have this Ben thing going on where we twin in a lot of ways, and I'm honored to share a name with you.
Love it. Love it. There's some great Ben's out there, you know, but I'm thrilled to have you up here, sir.
It's great to have you.
Amongst us, doing the cool stuff that you're doing in the Open Civics round has been really a joy to watch unfold over the last couple of rounds.
You guys are doing some really, really great stuff.
So what are we here to do? We're here to do some shilling.
Who here has still not done their final contribution yet?
Throw up a thumbs up if you're still filling up your cart.
I can tell you that I feel very behind.
I feel like I've got to go do a whole bunch more contributions.
You know, drop all the links. Tell us who we should be donating to.
I will pay extra attention to anybody who drops a link to a collection.
Again, those collections are the great way to, like, just help curate a group of people to donate to, to donate to, to groanate to.
Whatever kind of nating you do, you can do it better with collections.
So, yeah, that one was for you, Jimmy.
I see you down there, buddy.
Hey, look, there's Klaus. What's up, man?
Hey, good to have Klaus here.
I see Elephant in the room there.
Hey, look, it's Susie K.
There are so many cool people showing up here.
Hey, there's Kyle.
I hope you all come hang out on stage.
We're going to have a real fun one today.
What a, what a cool community we got here.
Nicely done, Matilda.
You've grown quite the amazing community around this Gitcoin space here.
I give you all credit.
Oh, you know, I definitely can't take all the credits.
It's a collaborative effort.
And it's also thanks to everyone that's actually participating in GG20.
We can't do what we do without any of you.
So, yeah, this is, this has been really great.
And, yeah, I'm stoked about this last space.
I'm happy that it's an extended space.
It gives us time to breathe.
We don't have, like, a, you know, cutoff date, a cutoff time.
We kind of do, but we don't because, I mean, the round will end.
So, yeah, we're here to hang out.
We're here to close out this round together.
I did just bring Geost from Idris on stage.
I hope I'm pronouncing that correctly.
I just blame my South African accent on anything I mispronounce.
So, I do apologize.
But, yeah, the team at Idris is, they, I'm just going to throw it over to them to introduce themselves and the amazing integration that was, yeah, pushed out, I mean, a few rounds ago.
But there's been quite a few updates since then.
So, yeah, over to you.
GMGM on this bittersweet day.
Can you guys hear me well?
Yeah, loud and clear.
I'm not going to shield any particular project, but I will maybe share something that will help you guys throw some quick, last minute, spontaneous donations, even to people that will shield their projects right in this space.
Ben, yesterday on the space, mentioned one of the beautiful permissionless integration of Gitcoin contracts, which was Karma Gap.
And I have another one to share, which is Idris.
Some of you guys know us from GG18 when we integrated Gitcoin contracts and enabled direct donations to Gitcoin grantees right on Twitter.
And this round, we actually took it cross-chain.
So, for the first time ever, folks are able to donate from networks like Base, Linea, ZK Sync Era, and also Optimism and Ethereum.
And this is regardless of where the round is on, and this can be done with a breach fee as low as three, four, five cents and in the matter of seconds.
So, the cross-chain component is totally abstracted away.
And the best thing is that the donations are officially matched from the Gitcoin matching pool of over $1.5 million.
And I'm giving the mic to other grantees as probably there's tons of you here with beautiful project.
And we still have one hour, 45 minutes.
So, let's get that last-minute donations flowing.
That's so cool.
You guys are honestly right at the pointy tip of innovation in the web theory world.
I just am, like, never-endingly impressed with all the cool stuff you guys are shipping.
And, yeah, I would love to go play with what you guys are building more.
Where can people go find out more about Idris and test out what you were just talking about?
Just go to idris.xyz slash extension.
There you go.
Easy to remember.
Love it, love it.
Let's get it up on the Jumbotron, too.
Let's make sure people know all about that.
That's super dope.
Thanks for being up here, sir.
Thanks for doing what you're doing.
Thank you, sir.
It really needs to be a fire emoji that you can react to in Twitter spaces.
Because so much of what we just said, I was just like, that's so fire.
It's awesome.
Just huge props to that team for all the amazing work that you've been doing.
Yeah, it's been amazing to be able to ship this out and that all donations are, yeah, like you mentioned, that they're running through our civil detection mechanisms.
And are eligible for matching.
So, it's amazing.
So, should we start the official shilling?
It is 1515 where I am, so I think it's a good time to start.
I feel like we need some sort of official shilling beginning music.
Where's a robot fish girl when you need one?
Didn't we have a song, like a GG20 song at the beginning?
Yeah, we did.
Sov, do you know the song?
If Sov was at home, he could pull a couple of guitars off the wall.
If I wasn't in my truck, if I wasn't in my truck, I could just pull a guitar off the wall and play, you know?
I failed you.
I failed you all, and I'm sorry.
I picture you having, like, a gun rack with a guitar right behind you.
Maybe that's just my imagination, though.
I don't know.
Just the gun rack.
Just the gun rack.
You need more than one.
You know, I can't afford the wrong car.
It's totally gun rack.
You know, this is America.
Fair enough, man.
Fair enough.
All right.
Well, there you go.
There's the official song.
It is now begun.
And I'm going to send the robot fish girl signal to robot fish girl.
Maybe we can bring the robot fish themselves right to the space here to help us with some sound effects.
But who have we got coming to the stage?
Let's see.
I am too busy.
Mimi was up first, I think.
How are you doing, Mimi?
I'm doing well.
I just gave to three more projects.
Um, and, um, yeah, just kind of chill in.
Um, have to show the hackathon alumni, uh, round some love since, uh, I'm in that one as well.
Um, so, uh, I gave to, uh, D's Stealth, Bulwark, um, both, uh, are, which, uh, looks like, I think they're in, um, cybersecurity.
So, I'm also a cybersecurity student.
So, I'm very bullish on cybersecurity.
And then also, DexKit.
So, if any of those projects are in here, I just contributed, uh, to your project.
And thank you for being, for, well, everyone, thank you for, uh, participating and doing the work that you do.
Uh, there's some really cool, innovative products or projects going on right now.
And I am just so humbled to be amongst such smart, creative, technical, talented people.
So, thank you.
You, uh, you gotta, you gotta tell us, you gotta show your own project.
I mean, people could still add you to their cart.
As much as I, I love the, the showing it forward, I feel like we rushed you off the stage last time.
Like, uh, let's just take a beat in a minute and, and, and, and tell us, tell us about the cool stuff you're doing.
And you know what, Ben, to actually speak to that, I decided to wise up.
And I created three different pitches.
One that's around four minutes.
One that is around two minutes.
And one that is around one minute.
Um, since I do have a, uh, a video presentation for my project.
Uh, I believe it's on my product, on my, um, on my donation page.
I just basically took the transcript from that and then just broke it up into different ones.
So, uh, since it, yeah.
So since there is a little bit of space, I'm going to kick it off.
This one's the longer, uh, pitch.
It probably won't be the full four minute, um, or so.
Um, so if you don't want to tie me, feel free.
Um, so I can.
How long is this?
Um, but I'm going to go ahead and go with the longer one this time.
Uh, so as you guys know, uh, well, my legal name is Evelyn Jones.
I was named after my grandmother, by the way, but you can call me Mimi.
Uh, I am a self-taught Web3 developer.
I started my, uh, Web3 journey back in, uh, 20, in 2021 ish.
Uh, and I'm also, like I said, I'm a cybersecurity student.
Uh, my project is a Web3.js plugin for, um, plugin, uh, as a faucet plugin for testnet.
So basically to automate the, uh, testnet token process.
So I used, uh, Web3.js and Tableland.
And the whole point of the faucet plugin for testnets is to streamline the process of obtaining
testnet tokens for developers and for community managers or anyone distributing testnet tokens.
So, uh, this is a twofold benefit for not only the developer experience, but also community
managers who are working with developers to empower them to build great things in their
communities and with certain technologies.
So the plugin works by being initiated, then it will consult with a Tableland database, uh,
database, and then the plugin will check the database for addresses, whether tokens were
claimed, user ID, user IDs, request details, and claim date.
Then the, then the token request itself is sent to the blockchain.
Uh, and then the, uh, block, the blockchain and the Tableland database are updated with said request
and the details mentioned, like the request details, user ID, et cetera.
Uh, either way, the user will get, um, a message at the end, whether it's approval or denial
resulting in receiving testnet tokens or not.
Uh, and then also the, it started off as a proposal.
Um, I won the, the, uh, decentralized intelligence, uh, hackathon, uh, chain safe idea-thon bounty
put on by learnweb3dao.
Uh, so this started off as a proposal, but then I had time to try to build it.
So I started building it and the code can be found in my public GitHub repository, uh,
on the project, uh, donation page.
So as you can imagine, this plugin has many benefits and use cases, such as improving
the developer experience, gas optimization, uh, streamlining developer projects, improve
collaboration and project management in, uh, DeFi, uh, NFT and open source projects, as
well as research and development, gaming, startups, incubators, and more use cases.
So, um, you know, we always say, you know, GM, you know, at first it was always wag me, we're
all going to make it.
And, um, I really feel that if we're all really going to make it in web three, that we definitely
need automation and security.
And that's what really, I, that's what really, I really tried to drive into web three JS faucet
plugin for test nets.
So, uh, thank you.
That was, uh, just under four minutes, according to my, uh, uh, sort of very, not so perfect timing.
Uh, but you know, I, uh, uh, Mimi, you, you, you definitely are blessed and highly flavored.
Uh, you're bringing a lot of flavor to this space.
It's always been such a delight to have you on these spaces.
Uh, and I, uh, I, I'm just so thrilled that you're doing what you're doing.
Uh, did not even know you were doing all this web three security stuff on top of, uh, being
a vet tech and, and being, uh, uh, a dev.
I just love seeing people just jumping in and building things.
Uh, that's totally how we got to do this stuff that we got to do in this open source world
where everybody is just trying to make the world better place one piece of code at a
So, you know, thank you for, uh, for just exemplifying that approach to, uh, making things
Uh, you're setting a great example for everybody else.
Just jump in there, get stuff done.
Oh my God.
Do we have robot fish girl on stage?
Oh, sorry.
No worries.
Um, thank you for all that.
Working part time and stuff like that and doing everything on the side.
And I'm a student as well.
So yeah, there's a lot going on.
Um, I, in the midst of all this, I was so focused on my pitch.
I forgot to put my, um, donation link in the, in the chat.
So I'm going to do that right now.
That's what I was doing.
It's always those little things, right?
Like, Oh, what did I forget?
The link where people can go and actually give me money that, you know.
I will get that pinned to the Jumbotron and yes, we have robot fish girl in the house.
We'll do it live.
Just got to really confuse people right off the bat.
Like the only way to do it.
I love it.
Oh God, why?
I, uh, you know, honestly, I am so glad we sent out the robot fish signal.
I, uh, I just find these spaces to be like, you know, more fun with, uh, with an RFG in
the house.
Uh, thank you for being here.
I know you got a lot going on.
Not today.
I, I forced myself to take a day off, but this doesn't count.
I, I, I, I, I, I think you deserve a high five and, uh, and a lot of smiles and a lot of thank
So thank you for doing what you're doing and, and coming and hanging out on your day off.
Uh, that, that is doing something that's an important thing to do is to take care of yourself,
take time off.
So, uh, we promised to make it as fun as possible for you.
It was, it, it, I, I, I tried to stay off of like this Twitter account entirely, but then
it was just time for, so I.
Ben, you just really have like quite a, uh, a, a suite of sound effects at your disposal
at any one moment.
Don't you?
Most of them started from, uh, sarcastic suggestions become reality.
Uh, but, I can't, I simply cannot right now.
I've even got one that can be used here to great effect.
Time for Ben explains memes badly.
I think that's about a different Ben, but I still love it.
It is, it's about Ben Bonny, but you know, if the shoe fits.
Well, I, I need that, like on my phone as a ringtone or something that that's amazing.
Please do.
We should probably let some people shell, but please don't hesitate to jump in with the
sound effects here and there.
Cause, uh, you know, it just makes the world a better place.
Uh, who's up here.
I think we got Carlos up here.
What's up, man?
Oh my gosh.
I'm sorry.
I just bit the head off of, uh, uh, an Easter rabbit chocolate.
So next person I'll come back.
You actually have that mask on your face right now too.
You're like eating chocolate.
Talk about taking care of yourself.
That's, uh, uh, chocolate rabbits and face masks.
Uh, I love it.
Beauty mask.
The mask is, is off.
I used it to moisturize my hands because, um, I've been doing all the cooking lately.
It means a lot of dishes and my hands are tearing apart.
But yeah, next, next person pass.
Who else do we got up here?
I'm, I'm, I'm, you know, looking for memes at the same time as, as trying to do this.
So, uh, you know, very important stuff going on up here, Matilda, could you help me out?
Who, who else do we got up on stage with us?
Yeah, we just got DSI round popping up.
So I would throw it over to you to say hello.
Thanks for joining us.
Hey guys, it's Manu.
Good, good to be here, you know, in this last couple of hours before the GG20 closes up.
Big, big thank you, you know, to all, to all of our grantees.
Uh, the DSI round and also to, you know, for sure, also our sponsors from Research Hub
and the public nouns community.
I think over the last, you know, two weeks, we had a, we had a great time, uh, organizing
a lot of great X spaces with our community and, you know, also a great time like engaging
our donors and so on.
Um, so I think, you know, we, we, we had, uh, the, the perfect environment where, you
know, we can just have all these different community rounds and also the main rounds
and build bridges between all these different ecosystems.
And, you know, I, I also want to just want to call, call out like, uh, some of our operators
behind the DSI team.
So this is like why, why, why I want to be on stage tonight.
Um, it's already, you know, a little late for me, but, you know, still I'm here, um,
you know, chilling with the rest of the GitCon fam and, uh, yeah, big, big, big, big shout
out, you know, to Maria and Lana and Ivo and also Tommy behind the operators team of this
DSI GG20 round.
And for sure, you know, also big shout out to all of our stewards.
Um, some of them are actually also in here, in our audience.
So big, big shout out also to Eva from Aura Sai and Bao, uh, from Archimedes, uh, to
one from Uncommons and also Roto from Mazarif Dao.
So yeah, thanks, thanks to you all, you know, uh, and also thanks
to our community.
We had a magnificent time, um, with, you know, also all the other grantees and all
the other rounds.
And yeah, I just want to thank you all for, you know, making this, uh, GG20 a
really special one, uh, also for us.
So yeah, this is why I'm here, you know, spreading some good vibes and, uh, much
love to all of you.
Uh, and now I'm, you know, handing the mic, uh, back to you, Ben or, uh, Matilda
behind GitCon.
Thank you, Manu.
Great to have you up here.
Thanks for doing what you're doing and doing it so well.
Uh, loving to see the Desai, uh, work in its magic in this GG20 round that we are all
in together.
Thank you so much, uh, for your contribution, sir.
Uh, uh, RobotFishCode, do you got any outer space noises?
I'm sure I could find one, but I got it wrong.
Well, I will also put a link, by the way, uh, up in the Jamatron to this Desai round so
that more people know about the amazing project also now around.
So yeah, big thank you.
And if you have a space sound, let me know.
I think the closest thing I have is the tag that I use on, like, audio recordings.
It's just...
I don't know what's better.
It's a literal RobotFish.
The sound effect or the laugh that comes after them?
Oh, I have the laugh recorded, too, so that Tony can play my laugh in the background when
I'm doing other things.
That's amazing.
All right.
And with that tangent over...
Now back to the guest.
Oh, my God.
Kyle, what's up, man?
Yeah, we...
This is like a gathering of OG, uh, Gitcoiners here.
We got, like, all the, uh, all the old school public library, uh, folks in the room.
In the house.
Welcome to the stage, Kyle.
I hear that the law is a public good.
Is this true?
Can you confirm or deny?
Yes, it is.
But, uh...
These days, uh...
Arguably, it's...
Not much of it is a public good anymore.
So that's one of the points of LexDAO is that, uh...
And, uh, I think Web3 in general, actually.
But, uh, LexDAO is kind of, um...
Putting the narrative in...
In the front of our consciousness.
But, yeah.
It's, uh...
Law is a public good.
It's really, really important that law is a public good for all the other public goods as well.
If law isn't, then, um...
That's definitely a vulnerability that all these other public goods.
All the work we do to protect them and all...
It's, um...
It's very difficult if the law is not on our side.
And, um...
Kind of necessary for...
For it to be.
So law is a public good.
ElectDAO is a guild of legal engineers.
So the way that we address law is a public good is that we're, uh...
Using smart contracts and automation, um...
Services like, uh...
Escrow that in the past have only been available to people that, um...
Were able to pay, uh...
Expensive lawyers.
And with this DAO world that's happening, uh...
We do have legal wrappers already.
If you go to kelly.gg.
And so you can create a legal entity just with one click and...
And, uh...
But as time goes by, we'll, um...
Be able to offer a proper out-of-the-box solution for that kind of stuff.
And then, um...
I've noticed that, uh...
One of our offshoots, DAO Coalition.
It's in the hackathon round.
And that round has really great, uh...
Multiples.
If you're thinking about donating, uh...
Do consider DAO Coalition.
DAO Coalition, uh...
We're, uh...
On the way to be a lobby group.
Now a 501c4.
It takes about a year to get that.
So we got that.
And then we also, uh...
Look at areas where there are important protocols in the space.
And, uh...
But, uh...
They aren't talking to each other.
And then we, um...
Take on that project.
And then manage that.
Manage the interdata between snapshots and Gitcoin.
And then we also, um...
Probably not Gitcoin.
Hatch Protocol.
And then, uh...
We manage the, um...
Hatch Protocol, uh...
And Gitcoin Passport, um...
Interdata.
We're finishing that one up right now.
In Dao Coalition.
So send us a donate a dollar there.
And you can check out all of our different, um...
Projects, uh...
How to donate to us at lexdaogrant.us.
L-E-X-D-A-O-G-R-A-N-T dot U-S.
And if you also, uh...
I could probably talk for...
For a very long time about all the different projects that have come out.
Like-style real-world assets and, um...
Some DeFi stuff.
But, uh...
What I'm doing personally, uh...
Quite a bit is the network state movement.
So right now I'm at Vitalia, uh...
Which is in a special economic zone that offers polycentric law.
Which is a really exciting, uh...
Area to be able to practice in.
And then, um...
Like-style, it's gonna be spending quite a bit of time at a few of these different Zuzulu, uh...
Offshoots.
Network state, if you're into that, uh...
At least the underlying legal plumbing.
So that it can actually be states that are networked with each other.
Do think about donating a dollar to like-style.
I know that's kind of dry, but...
I'm serious, but...
Y'all were laughing quite a bit.
I feel like I was kind of, um...
Not dry at all, man.
Spicy it could be.
It's like, uh...
Like hot sauce on, uh...
On planet Earth.
For, uh...
For doing what you're doing, man.
Don't feel like, uh...
You know, the law is, uh...
We know that code is law, but is the...
Is the law code?
It's hard to, uh...
To really find your way through it.
So I could not be more glad you guys are out there doing what you're doing.
I think we could go deep on so many different topics, but maybe the best thing to do is just let people know where they can find you, find more information.
You know, add some, uh...
Some donations directly, uh...
To you while we still got an hour and 24 minutes left.
Yeah, yeah.
They can, um...
Go to lexdaogrant.us.
So L-E-X-D-A-O-G-R-A-N-T.us.
And that'll have all the links, uh...
Including, um...
The DAO coalition I mentioned.
And actually, I forgot to say that, uh...
It will probably be more for GG21.
But, uh...
We've, uh...
Decided to do, uh...
Something that's similar to the ARB, uh...
It's for social media activity.
And hopefully, that means in GG21, we'll have this internal, uh...
System, uh...
That means there'll be more people than, than myself representing lexdaogrant on stage here.
Just scroll down to the bottom, lexdaogrant.us.
And there's a link to that.
It's also, if you want to work to membership for lexdao, uh...
This will be a great opportunity, um...
To get involved with that.
So, basically, just rewards.
So, we finally have some rewards in...
In the grants committee.
But all of that is just at lexdaogrant.us.
And I'll put that on the Jumbotron now, uh...
That is quite the hack, sir.
I love it.
You know...
Having a dedicated, uh...
Linktree...
With your own URL.
You know...
I always get a little weirded out when people use Bitly or other link shorteners.
You know...
You're always so worried about, like, what is it that we're clicking on?
You know...
As our friends in the, uh...
Web3 security space often say, no clicky.
No clicky.
You gotta be careful what you click on in this wild world.
Really brilliant.
Using your own branding in a trustable domain.
But, like, having a series of links for people to explore.
Bonus points for you, sir.
Well done.
We had Robot Fish Girl got rugged.
What is going on?
Not helping out here today.
Trying to get you up here.
Also trying to get, uh...
My friend Tara from Elephant Room up here.
And trying to get, uh...
Let's see.
Who do we got?
I think we just got somebody up here.
I think we got ChangeCode.
Great to...
Great to have you up here, ChangeCode.
Please tell us all about what you are up to and how GG20 is treating you.
Thanks, Ben.
Chris Georgian here behind the, uh...
Logo today.
This is our first Gitcoin round.
Super, super fun.
Super exciting.
And unbelievable amount of energy over these last two weeks.
So just, I don't know.
Huge shout out to everyone who makes this possible.
It's been an amazing first experience for our project to get to participate.
So thank you all for that.
ChangeCode.
We are working to transform impact into an asset class.
I think Gitcoin and all these great experiments with quadratic voting have taught us that funding
public goods can and should be for everyone.
And what ChangeCode is trying to do is take that a step further to try to make it something
where not only can it be for everyone, but it can also be something where we have economic
incentives attached to it.
So not only can you do good in the world and fund good, but you can actually get some incentives,
get some economic returns out of it.
That's really our mission.
That's what we're all about.
The first things we're doing is really building on top of a lot of those public goods impact
primitives that are, that are already there.
We're integrating hyper search.
We're integrating EAS, um, to kind of take all that great on-chain data, on-chain work that
people are already doing, and then add in financial primitives to that.
We're doing a lot of research, and this is where anyone wants to help out.
If anyone has ideas, we're super, super interested in collaborating.
We're researching first how we can actually ascribe this economic value to different
public goods.
You know, I think for a lot of us on the space, it's pretty obvious that people are
writing open source libraries or, you know, people are funding public good infrastructure,
and that gives all of us as individual projects, like that gives us a boost, right?
We are more productive.
We can do greater things with our own projects, uh, because of what has already been built.
That's still pretty tricky to quantify.
So, quantifying that is the first step for us.
Then later steps are really around using that tokenized, primitized, uh, public good
and that impact and actually backing a currency with it.
A little bit different, a little bit unique from what's being done out there.
Already instead of funding, you know, through equity or through debt or through crowdfunding,
instead of funding the actual organizations, um, that are having that good, that are producing
that good in the world and backing a currency that way, we're trying to actually back the
currency with the impact as an asset itself.
So one big experiment, like a lot of us are on, can we actually turn impact into the next
big asset class?
Um, yeah, we're excited to be here and exciting to collaborate and yeah, let's just bring this
That's it.
And I will, uh, post some links in the, uh, in the chat right now for that.
Thank you so much.
Uh, it's so great to have you up on stage and, you know, I gotta say, um, seeing the
endorsements of people that you trust goes a really long way.
Um, you know, I, uh, I went and looked at your page and I saw our friends from crypto
We're supporting you big fan of the crypto altruism, uh, crew.
So yeah, just, uh, uh, you know, uh, that, uh, speaks volumes in and of itself.
Um, and you know, big fan of attestations too.
So cool that you're doing stuff, uh, in the hyper search land and EAS.
Um, you know, I, for one, I'm very bullish on that whole space.
As I know my friend saw is, uh, as well as everybody else up on stage, I'm sure.
Um, uh, that's my, uh, uh, little lob to you.
So if you want to talk a little bit about some cool hyper search stuff, uh, no pressure
I know you're, I know you're in a truck.
Yeah, no problem.
The truck will not prevent me from talking about hyper search stuff.
You know, we are genuinely interested in finding new ways that you can kind of measure,
um, you know, impact and hyper search is definitely, uh, one of the leaders out there,
you know, really looking at that today.
Um, so yeah, you know, was super excited to see them pop up as one of the GG.
Uh, community rounds.
I was really happy whenever the council selected them.
Um, and I know that we are doing some work with some kind of like a Jason type projects
to like open source observer with Carl Servone, um, to help with eligibility reviews and, you
know, taking a look at applications and these kinds of things that, you know, came in for
the GG round.
So perfect segue there, Ben, and the truck is not going to hold back my excitement of things
like hyper search at all.
I can't imagine much of anything holding back.
So honestly, um, when the sovereign signal is up, uh, watch out.
He's going to make stuff happen.
All right.
Let's see.
Thank you, sir.
Thank you, sir.
I would say the same thing about you.
You know, I think it's mutual.
It is mutual.
Hey, can I interrupt us for a quick, uh, it's not an update for a little celebration.
We've just surpassed 600,000 donated.
That's amazing.
That's amazing.
I, I feel like we are probably at a good point where Carlos is finished eating the chocolate
head of the rabbit.
Um, so I kind of feel like now that we've surpassed 600K, it's a good time to bring Carlos
I'm pretty sure he can get us to 700K.
I think that's perfect.
At least 69420, right?
The truck will not stop me from talking about hyperserts is a fantastic, is a fantastic turn
of phrase.
I put a voice changer on for that.
Hey, what's up everyone?
Uh, yeah, sorry about that earlier.
I'm, uh, finishing off the post Easter chocolate haul that we got.
I was showing, uh, my, my daughter, you know, financial literacy early on.
So we went and bought half off Easter chocolate that we're still trying to get through.
So, so I don't even do that.
We just go to the egg hunts and, you know, get the candy and then dad just eats it.
They try and hide it from me, but then I eat it and I have three kids.
And so, um, yeah, Halloween, all of those holidays are always fun.
I, I, I'm, I'm trying to get through them before she does work.
We're like racing each other.
That's, that's where we're at with that.
Um, I, I just want to, I want to start off by, by thanking everyone involved in running
these rounds, all the round operators, uh, everyone that that's working behind the scenes from many months before the round starts.
You know, there's so much work that happens for, for just defining eligibility criteria and updating the, the QF models and, and progressively improving the, the passport, uh, schemas and all that.
And everyone that's, uh, you know, creating all the connections and the relationships to develop the comms plans.
Uh, there's so much work, the design stuff.
I'm so, I'm so glad to see, um, so much cool innovation on the design stuff as well.
I saw templates for telegram and all these other things pop up.
Thanks to everyone involved in making all of this a reality.
It's, it's such a big driver for the entire ecosystem, right?
Like if you think back to what get coin has enabled in the Ethereum landscape, you know, huge protocols that now kind of just overshadow, uh, get coin itself.
Like this, all of that is only possible because of all the work that everyone does behind the scenes.
And I'm really, really grateful for everyone that comes together and makes all of that happen.
It's crazy work, y'all.
If you're a grantee, I just want y'all to know it's crazy work.
It's, it's a lot of work that happens behind the scenes.
So, uh, make sure that whenever you get the chance to express some gratitude for everyone that, that works at get coin and makes all these things happen.
Um, with that said, I would like to get a little shilling on.
I don't know if y'all noticed, but I made it a point to really show my own project this, this round.
Uh, I think the last time I showed my, my own project was probably like, I don't know, GG 14 or 15.
And then I've made it a point to promote other projects that I've been onboarding, but this time web through beach.
All right.
Uh, there's no shell.
Just help me get to 420 contributors.
We passed the point of shilling and now it's just about the funny meme number.
I see you.
Just help me get to 420.
That's the real, that's the real strategy.
You gotta have the desperate riz to get people to, that's the, right there.
That's exactly, exactly right.
And then, okay, help me get to 420.
And then after that, uh, I'd say everyone that is participating in this round, uh, make sure to take care of yourself as I was doing earlier.
I did a little bit of sauna action.
I did a little beauty mask when I got home.
I ate a really healthy meal and then the chocolate bunny.
That counts as, that counts as self care, you know?
Um, yeah, so just, uh, make sure you, you're getting some rest, uh, as, as Ben always says, uh, drink water, stay hydrated, not just your skin, your insides as well.
And, and then, uh, after you do that for a couple of days, get your butts back to work.
You gotta work hard, didn't play hard.
Wow. Wow. Indeed. Wow.
I don't have the Olin Wilson button. I need to find it.
Sooner or later, we're just gonna start getting live sound effects just directly from Robot Fish Girl.
For anybody who doesn't know, Robot Fish Girl, it does, uh, like, real, real sound effect, like, voice work, right?
Welcome back to Get Going Radio!
Exactly. There you go. Perfect.
I also need that one as a ring pin.
So there's a lot of money now.
Carlos is sitting here shaking his head because he just hosted a show with me last week and he's like, I thought I was done with this shit.
No. Actually, I do have one last shill.
I think this is really important and this is something that I think every round I repeat and I would like to see more of.
If you earned some Arbitrum, some ARB token in this round, I highly recommend that you delegate those Arboroonies to yourself and get involved in Arbitrum DAO.
It's like the regen thing to do, you know?
If you're able to source some grant funding from any of these ecosystems, whether it's GTC from the citizens round or ARB token in these rounds,
you should get a little more involved in that ecosystem, get involved in the governance forums.
That's where all the alpha happens.
And by participating, by being a more active participant in these ecosystems, you're actually opening more doors to opportunity.
And you can help shape the future of all of these grants programs, right?
Even if you don't have an enormous amount of tokens to delegate to yourselves, you can actually sway the way that these proposals are being drafted by participating in the governance, you know?
So make sure you do that.
So all of you should have a Gitcoin governance forum username and an Arbitrum governance username.
Damn. I love it. Thank you for that.
That is a really good call out, sir.
And I can definitely attest to the fact that every voice that shows up in those forums really does have an impact.
And often a lot of the bigger delegates are looking for signals from the community, you know?
And that's you.
If you're out there and you're listening to this, you are the community.
You know, so take advantage of that power that you got. Use it.
You know, and and some really good things can come out of it, like helping to support some really great projects or encouraging people to build certain types of projects, all kinds of cool stuff.
So, yeah, totally, totally, totally agree.
And by the way, Carlos, I love the Orcalos noun situation you got going on there.
That is, you know, it's got to be right up there in like one of my favorite nouns I've seen, actually.
Gotta love it.
Just felt like throwing that out there.
Thank you. I minted that one.
That's true. That's true.
That's true. I put in a request for when I when I was finally ready.
I felt like I learned enough by contributing enough to the ecosystem.
I thought, OK, now I'm really going to be a real noun there.
And I requested a marine something marine life.
And yeah, Robot Fish Girl minted this sweet robot orca for me.
Nice. Come through. Love it.
And now you are officially Orcalos.
The Web3Beachinator or something.
Whatever you are, you're doing it very well.
The Web3Beachinator.
You have to make that your bio now. I'm sorry.
That's true.
You know, whether he does or not, the work he's doing is fabulous.
And, you know, Carlos, I've been a big fan of your community organizing skills for a long time.
If you want to see what a an amazing collection looks like filled with a bunch of groups doing impact.
Go check out that thread that Carlos created of all these different projects doing effective work.
OK, I'm going to try something weird here.
I do not see climate race elephant room up on the speakers, but they just sent me a screenshot of themselves that looks like they are a speaker.
Does anybody else see them up here as a speaker? I'm trying to get trying to get them up here before they have to go off and do other things.
I don't I don't see that.
It's usually it helps to leave the space and sometimes just restart Twitter and then join again.
I was being heavily rugged the other day when I was joining spaces.
And when I did that, it kind of helped us to reset it.
So if anyone's struggling with that, it's a good hot tip.
Twitter is kind of like a like an old car that, you know, it only works if you got the window halfway down and you like with no flaws.
That's OK, so with an X is like an old car.
Sorry, TNS meme.
I say that a lot when things break.
All good. All good.
Hey, there we go.
OK, I am going to pass the mic over to climate race because they made it up on stage.
I know there's a few of you waiting up here.
Thank you for being patient.
Tara. Hello.
How are you?
Hey, I'm a little bit sniffly, so hopefully you can understand me.
I seem to be getting some kind of weird allergy thing happening, which I've never had in my life before.
But heck that maybe that's climate change.
It's starting to affect me in my own yard.
You are growing a lot of cool stuff in your yard.
I have seen it.
And I'm just going to talk for a couple of minutes because I got to run off.
But and thanks for getting me up here so quick, Ben.
You know, Ben and I have been friends for.
How long, Ben?
I don't know.
Longer than probably a few people that are in the audience have been alive.
I'm guessing.
It's possible.
So I will talk a little bit about elephant room.
And but then I also want to mention a couple of my other favorite projects that don't have anybody up here to show for them and probably won't because they tend to be either shy or incapable of getting into Web3 somehow.
They're locked out all the time.
So I just want to say that, you know, first of all, you know, we have had an alpha room.
Lots of support from the get coin rounds as well as now the climate coordination network.
And we've also been supported by Ethereum Foundation.
And what we've been doing is creating an open source learning resource for entities like Web2 companies and governments that want to bridge the gap between blockchain and climate solutions.
And really accelerate the progress and unlock new possibilities that could sort of revolutionize how we tackle climate change, you know, in ways that were previously unimaginable.
And you can check out the site that we've been working on, which is at unlockingclimatesolutions.com.
I will try and get that into the messages after if I can get if I'm not running out of here too fast.
But like everything we do, it is a work in process.
And we've created some decks and other resources on supply chains and carbon budgets and decentralized energy and one that's all about explaining how blockchain is what it's about in terms of how it could be used for climate solutions.
We also have an amazing fork in wisdom, the amazing fork in wisdom, creating some beautiful animation explainers for us.
I saw them on here. I hope they're going to come up and talk as well.
And we're going to be doing more impact work as well as some public library calls and a heap of promotions and case studies for other great projects that don't always have the resources to do it for themselves.
So we would love your support at Elephant Room.
And then quickly, just I'm going to just say for the three other projects that I just want to mention, all of these are in the climate round.
The first one is Seabrook and Seabrook is building something that is quite amazing.
They are making a project which uses kelp to create bricks that are three times stronger than concrete and really could replace many of the damaging,
greenhouse gas emissions from steel and concrete in the construction business.
I think they've also got a token coming online.
So that will be something that's interesting to watch for.
The second is a little project called Defood, which is working on food security and decentralized energy, soil and forest sequestration,
that type of thing in a controlled pilot atmosphere.
And sorry, the last project is Beyond Fossil Fuels, which supports indigenous legal action to stop fossil fuel infrastructure, extremely effective strategies.
And they all deserve a lot of love.
No, Tara, that was amazing.
That was amazing.
First of all, Robot Fish Girl, you got to you got to give us an alpha alert there.
I heard some alpha.
I knew you'd be ready to come through on that one.
Tara, I thank you so much for coming and chilling.
I know that is not your natural habitat to be a shiller on Twitter.
But, you know, it is a bunch of really important projects that you just talked about.
You know, Kelp Island, super cool.
Defood, super cool.
Elephant Room, you know, just like there's so much work that Tara has been doing behind the scenes that nobody has any idea is happening.
Like when Carlos was talking earlier about the folks who, you know, are doing all the hard work to make these rounds a reality.
Tara has been involved in organizing the climate round since the very beginning of the climate round way back in GG 12, two years ago.
At the same time as like interviewing over 100 different people in the refi space to like really try to wrap our heads around like where the real work was, where the real opportunities are.
I just couldn't be any more thrilled to, you know, have you as a friend and a colleague in this wild world that we call Web3 and also just the wild world that we call the world.
So thank you for doing what you're doing, Tara.
Thanks for being up here.
And please kiss all your children on the foreheads for me.
That's who I'm going to get.
And thank you, Ben.
I love you, too.
You are, you know, the best person in the world to work with.
And this this has all been a fantastic experience for me getting pulled into the Web3 world, although I came in kicking and screaming.
I'm reasonably happy to be in here now.
So thank you all.
Thanks for all the great work you're doing.
Tara went straight from like not being involved in Web3 to doing research for the Ethereum Foundation in like a very short period of time.
And like now knows more about blockchain technology than most human beings, which is pretty amazing.
I'm not jumping into the deep end.
Yeah, totally.
Just head first.
It's been a ride.
It's been a ride.
You know, it started off with me asking, what does that word mean?
And what does that word mean?
And what does GM stand for?
Trust me, I still don't know.
And I've been here for two years.
I tend to think of myself as a litmus test.
So anything that, you know, people on the outside in Web2 don't understand.
I am the person that is trying to help them understand that because most of the time I didn't understand it.
Some of the time I still don't understand it.
And I'm trying very hard to make it so that it's easy for people to understand.
UX tends to be a bit tricky in here.
I've noticed.
Everything seems like smooth sailing to me.
Well, yeah, but that's because just hanging out with you is a mystery.
A mystery wrapped inside of an enigma.
Well, one thing that is no mystery is that I am eating up way too much time when there's a whole bunch of other people who want to come up and speak.
I don't know if you saw the gif that I posted of me stepping on everybody's toes as I talk over them.
My apologies if I do that.
I am underslept, highly caffeinated, and very excited.
And I really got to go fill up my cart one more time.
What's in your heart?
What's in your cart?
Let's make some magic happen there, guys.
I don't know what GM stands for, but maybe our friends at Oak can tell us.
Oak Chain, could you share some Web3 wisdom?
Your educators, please help us all understand.
Let's grow!
GM, GM, everyone.
Really awesome.
I mean, the last time I was in this space was GG19.
But shout out to all the people from Let's Grow DAO.
I just had to put that sound out because I see a lot of amazing folks from that DAO here in the space.
And it's been really incredible.
I want to do less of chilling and just more of gratitude because, I mean, you guys have been doing a lot of great work.
I mean, you made a lot of connection happens, a lot of collaboration.
I mean, we had a lot of fun time hosting the Let's Grow DAO live 24-7.
And I think it's really awesome, all the incredible people that have come to this space and all.
Well, yeah. I mean, we are definitely building an educational platform.
It's a decentralized platform that allows educators and learners to be able to learn and as well choose a career path.
So, I'm just going to give a shout out to all the projects, all the amazing projects in the Let's Grow DAO.
And I think we made like a bit of collection and that was what I'm just going to send in for all the projects that are out there.
But I see a couple of them coming up on the speaker and definitely allowing.
I see Jimmy too.
So, it's really incredible.
But yeah, I think GM is short for good morning, right?
Except if there's another different meaning for it.
But yeah, I just wanted to put that out as well.
But it's really incredible.
Thank you, Ben, for all you do and GitCon and everyone.
It was really amazing.
Thank you, guys.
So great to have you back, Oak.
And I love the sound effects that brought you in.
That was great.
It's so cool to hear your voice again.
I remember talking to you back in GG19.
I think we called it GR19 way back then, that long ago.
So great to have you in the round.
I'm glad you're having a good experience.
And it's so cool what you're doing.
Anybody who's doing work to help educate and involve the community, you know, is doing important work.
So thank you for doing what you're doing.
You know, I'm pretty sure that the G in GM, it's possible that it stands for Gideon.
I don't know.
It's just a theory I've got.
I don't know.
Robot Fish Girl, do you have opinions about that?
No, I was unmuting for something else, but that caught me off the cover.
No, I couldn't find a good space sound, so I fired up my modular synth and made one.
Nice sound.
So Gideon, that was my awkward way of bringing Gideon up to the stage to tell us about the
cool round that he is organizing.
Please share the the TEC wisdom with us, sir.
You got me laughing.
That's that is for sure.
And then I was like, what's the M?
Oh, my God.
And then also been a part of I was kind of dropping in and out of this because I looked over at when you were talking about URL shorteners.
I was like, OK, wait a minute.
For some reason, I went over to our account, the TEC, the token engineering comms account, and I clicked on our URL shortener and it just ended in like a dead end.
It's like a DNS error.
And so I was like, oh, so I dropped out for a little bit and just like did a bunch of patches and now we're back up.
But anyway, you don't want to have that happen when it's one hour to go.
Thanks for having me up.
And also, I just want to.
Mostly the biggest thing I want to do is say thank you to you, Ben, to Matilda, to Sop.
I mean, the whole crew there.
These rounds just keep getting better and better.
I feel like token engineering comms is our fourth one.
And, you know, we're we're learning as we go.
We're starting to, like, figure things out a little bit better along the way.
But just the way you all operate, it's just like it's just getting better and better and better.
And it's just it really has been a pleasure.
So mostly just wanted to celebrate you guys.
Thank you, sir.
You should you should tell us about the token engineering commons around because it's really cool.
And people will be.
All right.
Yeah, I will.
So token engineering, what's token engineering?
It's basically it's a new field of engineering that's aimed at really just trying to build more trustworthy systems.
So if you think of it like, you know, what's what's civil engineering, you know, it builds like safer bridges.
So people don't have to, like, read the blueprints before they cross the bridge.
That's what we're trying to do in this space.
You know, there's been a lot of a lot of mishaps over the years systems going down, people losing lots and lots of money, jobs, etc.
And we don't want that to happen.
We think that's like, you know, for this stuff to go mainstream way beyond what we're doing right now.
Public trust is just so essential.
And that's what engineering does for all kinds of, you know, technology, like basically systems that rely on technology.
So that's what we're about.
And this round.
Yeah, it's been it's been a really good round for us.
So biggest round we've had so far in terms of projects, applying for, you know, to be grantees and then also just people donating.
So that's been really exciting.
And I guess the only other thing I'd add is like one of the cool things about what we're doing.
I mean, we're really trying to innovate on this stuff.
And, you know, we love quadratic funding, quadratic funding.
And we have done a whole bunch of work to kind of try to like take the strength of the token engineering community, which is this expertise and kind of infuse that into that quadratic funding signal.
And so we've been doing a bunch of experiments over this last year in terms of like having like a panel of token engineering experts to kind of help us review all the projects before they come in.
But then also we do this thing called tunable quadratic funding and TQF.
So, you know, the short name for it.
And it's basically a way of kind of fusing signals of expertise within the wallets of the people who are contributing and using that as a way to kind of mix the signal, the quadratic funding signal.
And that's been really cool.
We've done that a few rounds now and we're doing it in this one.
And it's it's pretty exciting.
So that's kind of that's our story.
Again, I just want to thank you all for all you do that.
It's really it's been a game changer for the for the token engineering comments.
That's so cool to hear, man.
Thank you for coming up and talking about your round and about the cool work you guys are doing.
And I think it's fundamentally important to our space overall to really be thinking about, you know, not.
Well, sorry.
What did you say?
Well, that was weird.
I just got a little weird noise.
All right.
You know, you said thank you that word a few times.
And now I'm just going to use that as a segue to say thank Arb is up on stage with us along as along with Arbitrum itself, the Arbitrum account.
I'm guessing it's Anna behind the account.
So glad that you're up here with us.
I hear Julian's voice in the back of my head saying, don't forget to mention all the stuff about Arbitrum that we should be saying thank you for.
So, you know, one of the things that I think is important is that we, you know, you know that there is all kinds of rewards and opportunities.
Carlos talked about the importance of getting involved in governance.
It was a governance vote at Arbitrum Dow that made the thank Arb campaign a reality, which is generating all kinds of rewards and opportunities for people, but also these feedback loops of doing assessments of impact.
You know, so you've heard us talk a little bit about this before.
Maybe if you were listening to the space yesterday where we were talking about creating your milestones on karma.
You know, when this round ends, you're going to hear more about it because really the end of the round is also a beginning in a sense.
That's when you get the money and you start doing the work.
And, you know, we're trying to introduce this whole new idea of like, you know, having people doing impact assessments of the work that's being done and offering additional rewards to people for really doing great work.
Sometimes it can be hard to like really knock it out of the park, especially in like one of your first QF rounds.
So that could just be a way that you can like, you know, just show that there's value demonstrated, do good work, get rewarded for it, and then have it visible to people in the next round.
So just wanted to encourage you to like pay attention to what you put in those milestones.
Really think about it.
Really like, you know, try to like demonstrate the impact that your project is having.
And I want to give my thanks to, you know, Arbitrum DAO and to everybody in the ARB community who supported this like really innovative initiative.
And Anna, I don't know if you want to come off mute for a second.
Just say hello from the Arbitrum account.
Great to have you up here with us.
All good if you just want to hang out too.
Going once, going twice.
Thanks for being here.
Glad you're up here with us, Anna, or whoever is behind the Arbitrum account today.
Much love.
And thanks.
Thanks for doing what you're doing and doing it so well.
Love seeing all these square boxes around the OG accounts like the Gitcoin account and the Arbitrum account up on stage with us here.
Okay, so who else do we got on the stage?
I think recursive stakes.
You've been waiting for a while.
And I know you've tried to get up a couple of times before.
So glad that we finally got you up on stage.
Yeah, that's right.
I think I rubbed myself the last closing space.
So it's great to be up here.
Excited to be representing honor code from the hackathon and token engineering round.
Because I really resonated with a lot of the speakers and projects say about how the market system is not really fully aligned with our values.
Even last night on Let's Grow Live, there was a deep dive on the need for reputational accounting.
That's a big reason why I built this project to promote that shift because we need to reunite labor and capital.
Yeah, and so how does honor code do this?
Well, as a new on-chain contribution scoring protocol slash prediction market, we're using a semi-transferable token, which can move between a set of DAO contracts called artifacts.
So you can essentially bet on parts of a project, allowing for more fractalized governance system.
So, yeah, it's meant to be an alternative to typical token models, more flexible than soul bound, more impact focused than liquid tokens, allowing a community to operate according to its own values.
So I think that's very important when it comes to tracking public goods impact, like all these fantastic projects, climate, education and so on.
And so, yeah, we've got our contracts deployed, been testing them out and had a thread about how an org could use the tool.
We're still working out a lot of the kinks in the UI, but hoping to have a usable version soon.
Definitely use some help along the way, but yeah, we're getting there.
But yeah, I wanted to say grateful for all the supports, including feedback.
Really looking forward to seeing where the space can take this type of idea.
Love it. Love it. And, you know, that's one of my favorite kind of bat signals to send out into the world.
You know, all of us are building in public.
All of us are like trying to figure out the best ways to do the things that we're doing.
And, you know, really one of the cool things about the open source world is, you know, that composability, interoperability.
You know, so like there might be some code that somebody's already built that you could just plug into what you're doing or maybe there's somebody in this crowd who's looking for a project and has some skills and wants to put in some time and thinks what you're doing is cool.
You know, as our friend Pernov said, people come to Gitcoin for the cash, but they stick around for the community.
And, you know, a lot of the most interesting stuff I've actually seen come out of Gitcoin grants rounds was not just the cash, but actually like the relationship scene.
What's that cheesy saying? You know, it's the friends you meet along the way.
You know, I can say for sure that I have seen that happen in real time.
People hearing about a project, you know, and reaching out, DMing somebody, talking in the telegram group, whatever it might be.
And some amazing stuff happens as a result. So, yeah, please don't be shy to like put it out there if you're looking for help with something or, you know, you're struggling with something.
You know, you're struggling with something. You have a problem like, you know, that's that's what the community is for is to figure out the solutions to these problems together.
So, yeah, right on. Best of luck in the last. How many minutes were it? Like 45 minutes.
I got to shut up and go put some stuff in my cart. Matilda, who should we bring up next?
We've got, let's see, there's a few different people who've been up here for a little bit. I think maybe it's Akasha.
Yeah, I do. Before we go to Akasha, if you have shelled, if you have shared, can you please just remove yourself from speaker?
I'm not going to remove anyone, but it just gives more space for everyone else to come up and show because we do reach a cap.
So this is just your friendly public service announcement. Thank you.
I love it. I think I think a cash.
Oh, hello. This is exciting. This is my first time up here. Hello, everybody.
Welcome. Oh, I'm so happy that you are finally able to join us.
I know that you've been trying to join these spaces for a while, so I'm super stoked to have you here.
Oh, thank you. Thank you. It's been so wonderful.
The last two weeks, I just feel like I've lived five years in two weeks.
We've met, this is the first round for Drivix, and we've met so many people and learned so many tools.
And I'm like, I'm dreaming in the nighttime of like all the spaces.
Like I never like turn off. So if this is the experience of someone participating, I can only imagine what it's been like for yourself and Ben and the whole team.
So like a huge thank you from me and I'm sure everybody else out there who's listening, like we are just so grateful.
Oh, that's so cool to hear. I'm so glad you're up here with us.
Can you tell people about your grant and about what you're building and what your plans are?
Absolutely. So Drivix is out there on a mission to democratize ESG data and investments.
People might not be aware, but there's about $50 trillion of ESG assets under management.
And those are things like a lot of what we're doing here would come under that category.
But the thing is that we're not accessing that $50 trillion in funding because we don't have the kind of data that they need to direct the investments to us.
So we're really about democratizing it. So it's not just that it's the big companies that can invest in what we're doing.
It's little people as well, businesses, and also so that, you know, everybody here who's doing their own impact project out there, you know,
regenerating land, planting trees, cleaning oceans so that they too can get out there and be able to get accreditations that they can be eligible for this huge pool of funding that's out there.
So we're really, really fortunate. We're going to be part of a couple of tech accelerators.
One is Energy Lab in Australia, which is a really fantastic, you know, platform for climate.
Most of the other people on there are building climate tech, but we're there.
We have a platform that uses AI. The backend's not linked up yet.
We're wanting to link it all up to Web3 and link the AI up.
So that's why this grant has been so important for us because we are totally bootstrapped.
We've been building a little bit for about a year, but of course, myself and the team, we all have other things.
So if anyone out there can help us get to $100 in contributions on our climate round, you know what?
Actually, what's fantastic and overwhelming is that there's been about 45 people contribute to DRIVX on the climate round.
And if anyone out there is listening who's contributed, thank you.
Please DM me. I'd actually like to know who you are and find out about yourself and your projects and how we can work together.
So, yeah, thank you.
That is a great prompt for one of my favorite feature requests, which is more ways to stay in touch with your donors.
For anybody who remembers the old version of the platform, there used to be something like a Kickstarter update,
like where you could, you know, put an update about what's going on with your project and then, you know, actually have it show up in people's email inbox.
And we've gone so far down the Web3 native world, which is super cool,
but there's no longer accounts that you log into with an email address.
And me being the old-fashioned, old-school guy that I am, I miss it.
So, you know, whenever people say stuff like that, I take it as a little, like, nudge that maybe there's some way we can do that.
I see a hand from Matilda. Maybe she's got some alpha.
I don't know what's going on over there, Matilda.
I don't know if you could do all of that, but there's this really awesome dashboard that dropped this round called gitcoindonordata.xyz.
You just enter your project name and you can get some real-time insights about the funding process to contributor activity.
Yeah, there's, like, a whole bunch.
I don't have everything in front of me right now that it has, but go check it out.
It actually has a lot of insights for grantees around their donor activity.
So it would be – that's one of the tools.
I don't think it has everything that you just mentioned, Ben, but it is amazing.
And it was built by the Jobstash team.
So, yeah, huge.
You were just waiting for that one, weren't you, Robotfish?
Oh, you have no idea.
That is so cool.
And I got to say, huge shout-out to the Rapid Prototyping team just in general.
Like, there is so much cool stuff that is shipping super quickly, like collections, that I just keep talking about over and over and over again, that come from people's requests.
So, like, please don't hesitate to, like, reach – you know, when Iwaki puts out one of his tweets saying,
what would you like to see in the next round, he really pays attention to that.
You know, and if you submit tickets, you know, like, you can email support at gitcoin.co,
or you can use the little chatbot in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Like, they really pay attention to that.
The devs, like, are very data-driven to try to sound a little bit like Akasha and Matilda, but not really pull it off.
By the way, I could listen to the two of you talk about data all day long.
Oh, I love that, Ben.
Yeah, I honestly can't keep up.
I haven't been able to keep up with all the amazing dashboards and all the amazing features that's been shipping this round,
which is, I think, a very good problem to have.
Yeah, 100%.
Yeah, totally.
I'm sure it's a challenge to let everybody know about it in a timely way, you know,
because there are so many cool things.
Shipping, very, very cool.
Okay, so let's see.
Where are we at in the donations right now, by the way?
Are we anywhere close to that 69, you know, 609 number that we're going for?
Yeah, we threw out a goal of 690,420.
We're at 613 now.
So, you know, we've got 40 minutes to get there.
I think maybe.
It's possible.
Anybody got a whole bunch of ETH burning a hole in their pocket?
Should I be breaking out the arms of an angel track?
Like, you should.
Only you, you can make a difference right now,
just for the cost of a cup of coffee every five seconds.
For the next 30 minutes, you can help so many projects reach their goal of the funny meme number.
Go to grants.gettoing.co today.
Actually, right now, because there's a very limited amount of time left.
And donate with everything that you have.
No, I'm kidding.
I love that.
Did you forget I had that?
Oh, my God.
That was amazing.
If you want to start with the Climate Solutions round, we only need 12,000 to hit 69,000.
That's a good one.
I didn't even know you were up here, man.
What the hell?
The voice of John coming out of the...
It was like the clouds just opened up, and then John Ruth came out.
That was the best.
Oh, just...
That was...
So, what I quickly did is I went to getcoindonordata.xyz, and I put in Drivix's project.
And I'll show you what the...
I'll just tell you what the stats actually show.
It's really cool.
It shows you your all-time stats, so, you know, the funding you've received, all the
rest, and then it gives you stats per round that you are a part of, and then it also gives
you all your donors, like their voter addresses and everything, and you can actually download
everything as a CSV.
So, it's pretty cool.
What was that address one more time?
The dot...
What did I say?
The voter?
No, no, no, donodata, but I just want to know what the actual URL is.
Gitcoindonordata.xyz.
I'll put it in the chat, but I can keep saying it as well, if you enjoy me saying it.
I've actually just tried to put it in the comments.
The Raven's pain falls gently on the...
I mean, I just sound like a troglomerate from Canada.
Everyone, thank you so much, Matilda.
Thank you so much, Matilda, for breaking that down.
I'm definitely going to head over there, and thank you for the messages that have come
in saying that you've donated.
I want to be in contact with everyone, but before I leave the space, I just want to give
a show for the...
There's a beautiful collection I've dropped down in the comments.
The women founders of GG20.
We created a wonderful group where we can support each other and promote each other.
We've been on a lot of each other's spaces these last two weeks, but check out that collection
because, you know, we're all doing amazing stuff all around the world.
Some of the projects are like, of course, Drivix, ChangeCode, MetrixLab, EcoFrontiers,
Elephant in the Room, Cocodal, Bloom Network, Powering Climate Solutions in Bolivia.
Check it out.
I think it's on...
Is it on the homepage of Gitcoin as well?
Otherwise, just, like, check out the link in the comments below this space.
Thank you for keeping us focused on what's actually happening here, Akasha.
Great to have you up here.
You're welcome.
Much appreciated, sincerely.
Jimmy, you have been patiently waiting on stage, sir, and how much sleep have you had
in the last two weeks?
Like, maybe an hour or two?
It seems about right.
It's like, you know, doing a lot of things, this guy.
But what's going on, Jimmy?
How is the world of Let's Grow right now?
It's growing.
It's growing.
It's been an absolute time.
And first of all, I want to say quickly, Akasha, if you're wondering who the humans were of
the 42, I'm one of them.
We can connect.
You can find my ENS address there.
But I want to spread a little bit of love right now for all of the round operators.
I know Climate Solutions, it was a tough growing, but y'all pulled through.
Everyone behind Gitcoin, we love all of you.
And thank you so much for all the hard work you put into making this happen.
I also want to quickly shill a collection that was made by Wasabi.
So it's in the comments section.
A couple people have been shilling it, including Aper Dyes.
So let me just pin this up here to the jumbo.
Plants it in the garden, as they say.
I'm going to read out the names of the people here.
Just quick.
I'm not going to shill.
I'm just going to read out their names because these are all phenomenal humans who volunteer
their time.
A lot of people, some people put in four hours per day.
You know, some people put like six hours per day.
Wasabi is a legend.
He covers for me sometimes when I was doing Aperception.
I'm going to run through these real quick because I know there's a lot.

You crushed it.
We did it again 24-7 the entire time.
Y'all are amazing.
Couldn't have done it without this massive community effort.
I love each and every one of you.
Much love.
That was beautifully done, sir.
Very eloquent, very fast, very effective.
You just never really disappoint when it comes to the speaking in the spaces, sir.
Much appreciated.
And, you know, just so impressed with what's going on with Let's Grow.
It just continues to let's grow and grow.
The grocabulary is spreading like wildfire.
Thank you for doing what you're doing, sir.
Okay, so we are at 32 minutes.
I have been talking way too much.
All right.
John is up on stage behind the Climate Program account, the Climate Coordination Network.
One of my old buddies from the world of organizing rounds going all the way back to, I don't know, a while.
John, what's up, man?
Tell us all about how things are going in the climate round, amongst other things.
Man, give me two seconds to say goodnight to the kids, but things are going amazing.
Give me two seconds.
Can we talk to the kids, too?
Does anybody else want to say goodnight to the kids?
Say thank you.
Goodnight, kids.
Goodnight.
Say goodnight.
Goodnight.
Say happy end of the Gitcoin.
Happy end of the Gitcoin.
That was really, really precious.
I'm glad I asked.
So, yeah, we have had an exceptional round.
You know, I mean, I think in terms of the results, we're overjoyed with the results so far and obviously always hoping for that last push, but I know we are getting close to the end here.
But, you know, we added 29 more projects to the round this time.
So, we had 100 projects in GG19 to 129 this round.
So, that did make for even more, like, energized community.
I mean, you have another 25% to any community.
You just got that many more people that are just excited to be there and raising money.
And I think we also maybe were able to bring a few of the folks in from the education and community round that were sort of adjacent and were a fit.
Couldn't do it for all of them.
But so, I think a few of those may have trickled in as well.
We've had 2,229 unique donors, which just blows me away.
Up until a couple days ago, we were shy of the 2,000.
And 2,000 in my head was, like, at least our first goal.
And so, we've blown through that.
And so, really excited about that.
We are at $57,000 donated.
So, just pushing towards that 20% number, which is at least a soft goal for sure.
So, we're close to hitting that goal.
But overall, just been blown away by the grantees in general, how much they've all stepped up to support each other in various ways in our telegram and the spaces.
I know Let's Grow Live is about a lot of different rounds, but certainly there's a lot of climate, like, energy there.
And so, really always great to, like, jump in those spaces.
And I think that's really been a place where our grantees have, I guess, a shelling point for our grantees, at least on spaces throughout the round.
And then, you know, I mean, just in general, I have to just give out so many thanks.
You know, thanks to Gitcoin for having us as one of the community rounds and to the stewards that voted for us on that grants council.
Thanks to Arbitrum for the extra boost in the matching pool.
That's huge.
And thanks for all the other incentives that you've added to the round.
I think that that's added some excitement.
I think probably the biggest one I was really seeing people latch on to is maybe the collections.
But I think some of those other incentives, I imagine, after the fact, would be interested to see the reports on how many of those various incentives got claimed and kind of the ways that people use these and the learnings from it, because I think it's a really exciting experiment.
Big thanks always to our friends, the Moments Collective.
I highly doubt they're in this space or probably who knows where they even are.
But those great humans have been one of our biggest supporters in terms of funding our matching pools year over year since the beginning.
So at least have to say a cosmic thank you to them wherever they are.
And, yeah, and then thanks to our partner, Celo.
You know, we, for those that maybe don't know, Celo contributed an extra $50,000 to the round as sort of a bonus round that we're trying out.
That's one of those features we'd love to see somehow built into GrantStack is the ability to kind of stack these rounds and have like rounds on top of rounds.
Maybe we'll see that at some point. At this point, we kind of have to do that on the, you know, outside of the grant stack.
But a certain number of our grantees that are building on Celo are going to be able to access that extra matching pool that will be based on the results of the overall climate solutions round.
So I think that's an exciting experiment, but also just a great way for us to collaborate with, you know, what's obviously a very climate-focused chain.
And I think there's a lot of alignment between our vision and a lot of what Celo is building.
So I think that that's been a great partnership. We look forward to seeing how we can continue to work together in the future.
Yeah, I don't know. You know, thanks to you, my friend, Ben.
You feel like you are holding down all the spaces outside of Let's Grow, along with you, Matilda.
So the two of you holding down all the sorts of spaces.
I know I heard you earlier, Matilda, talk about the women founders space and the collection that came out of that and a lot of energy.
I know that within the climate solutions early on, I think it was Akasha that started off that trend.
I'm not sure if they are still in this space. I think they were leaving.
But really great to see that focus on that, because we have so many badass women in the space and Wemexin and everything else.
I'm not trying to exclude anybody by any means, but we have a lot of people that are not white cis men building.
Maybe that's what I should say. And I want to see them all growing in the space.
Maybe that's the best way I can try to articulate that this late in the round when my brain is pretty flied.
But, yeah, just, you know, it's been a long one, but I'm glad to have been a part of it.
What a long, strange trip it's been, sir, but I'm glad we're on it together.
And thank you for all the hard work I know you're doing day in and day out on the climb around, along with so many other things.
By the way, John's got some really cool projects of his own that you should check out, like, for example, the Solar Foundation and Spark and Darcy.
I'm sure there's a bunch of links you can find in the Johniverse.
I know you're up here behind the Climate Program account, John, so maybe it's a little weird to show other projects from behind that account.
But where can people find the information if they're looking for it?
Yeah, taking off my my CCN hat, you can find it in my personal profile.
Let me hop on my computer real quick and see if I can't have it join the space so you all can find it.
But either way, you can find me. It's J.H. Ruth. If somehow you're not following me, come follow me.
But you can find it in my pin post there. It's probably the easiest.
I guess actually what I can do is I will pin it up.
Oh, John's getting rugged. What's going on? Do you have any rug noises?
As if I wouldn't.
Of course.
I've hosted spaces on Twitter every day for two years. You think I don't have a rugged sound effect? That's all we do.
Every day for two years. Like, literally every day for two years?
Well, actually, we moved to Tavern a little while ago. But yeah, um, 9 o'clock live is this morning. We had I don't even know what episode we're on now.
No, it's like 700 or something.
That's that's pretty good. That's that's pretty amazing. You're like giving Jimmy a run for his money. It's like, you know, just instead of doing it all in the woods.
689 was this month.
Wow. Wow. Wow.
689. That's like almost 69 with a zero. That's, uh, that's I don't know. I'm stretching the meme goals here.
Uh, congratulations on the 69 with a zero.
There you go. If you're trying to figure out what to do with yourself after the round is over, or you just like going to a cool space filled with cool people doing cool things, uh, go file, go follow robot, robot fish girl and go check that out.
Uh, where can people find that at the down square on Twitter? We're mostly active on work cast these days, and we're not doing Twitter spaces anymore.
We actually moved to Tavern, but all of our info is always posted on Twitter and warp and everywhere else.
So, um, as long as you're following at the down square, uh, you should be able to find us. The, the link is in my bio.
Amazing. I am so fascinated. I have so many questions. I'm going to have to ask them later, uh, because we have 23 minutes. What? Okay.
Uh, John, you clearly got rugged. Hope you, you can make your way back up here. Uh, wasabi has been up here waiting patiently for a while. Uh, what is up wasabi? How you doing, man?
Yeah. Yeah. I'm doing great. It was, uh, it was a fun G20. Um, yeah, I'm just grateful for everyone that show up to let's go live.
Like it was, uh, an amazing experience. The, uh, the rounds, they were like so diverse that I'm still donating. I'm still filling out my card. I'm rich. I'm in jumper, bridging funds from one chain to, to arbitrary. So I can keep donating. Um, you know, I'm just having fun. I want to show my, I create a few collections, uh, that I want to show the collections that, uh, that I did. So do it, do it, do it.
Yeah. Whoever is looking to, to do some last minute donations, you can, I create one for the let's grow live host. Um, that includes everyone that show up for two weeks, 24 hours. Like, uh, just thank you. I made one called critical infra and close scaling web three. I feel like those are like the pieces of infra for, to secure the, the, the web, the future of web three.
And I made another one for, uh, that is called ready to use apps and tools. Uh, like those are grantees. I have an app that you can go out there and use solve a problem. Um, you know, even say sometime or look for a new opportunity out there. So yeah.
Yeah. And, and, and, and, and, and I use pin then in the, in the garden. So yeah, check it, check it out. And thank you.
Thank you, sir. Thank you for doing what you're doing. And, uh, you know, I got to say, this is a man who has done so much cool stuff, uh, in the recent, uh, like last few months, uh, or weeks or days, or I don't know. It's all blending together.
You've been doing a lot of stuff, man. Uh, he, this, this guy's been like reviewing grantees, being a grantee, being all over the spaces, sharing the collections.
He's just like going the extra mile to, you know, just make some cool stuff happen in the quadratic land.
So I raised my hands to you, sir, uh, for just all the tireless, good vibes and good times that you are spreading around in this web three world.
Uh, yeah, go check out those collections. I'm pretty sure you got them, uh, up on the Jumbotron and down below and in all the places, everybody do the clickety click, uh, and go check out the stuff.
Uh, okay. Uh, we've got, uh, women in web three dot T E. So cool that you are here with us again today. Uh, please tell all the people about the cool stuff you are doing.
Um, hello, hello. Uh, I talked very long the last time, so this time I'll be short, but first, uh,
I, I hear about people putting their kids to sleep and moments ago, I managed to wake up my newborn and to some of my partner.
Um, so, um, fun all around. Um, my project is in, uh, token engineering round.
It's a lived experience based weighted, uh, voting mechanism design. Um, and we're early stage research project, um, aiming to help build, uh, better governance mechanisms and system design.
Um, um, um, the starting point is, um, adaptation of, uh, reputation based, uh, weighted voting, uh, mechanisms, but instead of reputation, um, we want to explore ways of measuring, um,
um, individuals, um, maybe experience. Instead of talking a lot about details, uh, I, I thought it would be maybe useful to, to add, um, an example.
Why our research could be, uh, could be, um, interesting or applicable to other product projects, especially, uh, public good projects.
Um, so when working on public good projects, it often happens that, uh, design decision-making funding, um, all of that, um, or people responsible for, for that, uh, are not included.
Um, or not including those who are mostly affected by the project, um, so there can be the, this savior ethos or just the situation where people deliver solutions, not fully understanding, um, the impact, not fully understanding the experience of those people who are, who are the most impacted.
Um, so the idea of, of, of waiting the, the lived experience or, or waiting the, um, impact on, on decision-making by people's, uh, lived experience, um, is something that, that, that we believe, um, can and, and should be explored for, for governance mechanisms and system design.
Um, and, um, that's the end of my short pitch.
I love it.
Well, your short pitch is, uh, a power-packed one, uh, and I hope we didn't wake up your kid with all of our shenanigans over here.
I, I blame Robot Fish Girl.
I also blame Robot Fish Girl.
Uh, well, I wish you the best of luck in the final, uh, uh, what have we got now?
Twenty-eight minutes, uh, I can still do math, so I, something is working.
Uh, I'm not sure what, but, you know, thank you for, for sharing about your project.
Uh, so cool to, to, to hear more about your project.
Uh, and for anybody who missed it, there's a great recording yesterday, uh, where we got, we want to give even more detail, uh, about this amazing project.
And, and I genuinely think, uh, you know, experience-based, uh, uh, sort of weighted voting is, is fundamentally needed.
Um, you know, so the, the more that we can innovate with governance mechanisms, uh, the better.
Uh, and I'll use that as a quick little way to shill about, uh, GovBoost, which is a program that we're going to be running through, thank Arb, soon.
Uh, after the Gitcoin round is over, uh, we're going to have a bunch of funds available for, uh, rapid innovation and deployment of governance mechanisms and cool things like that.
Um, so yeah, stay tuned. Uh, we've been doing a bunch of sense-making with the Arbentrum community, trying to get a sense of what DAO members would like to see.
Um, and that's one of the things that, uh, has bubbled to the surface is, uh, is tools like that.
So stay tuned for more opportunities to, uh, you know, get funded for doing some cool stuff.
And, and also remember to create your milestones about your project on, uh, Karma, uh, so that you can, uh, you know, not only share with everybody in the Gitcoin community about your progress and, and updates, but also to get some rewards for hitting your milestones.
Uh, you know, so we'll continue this conversation on a month-by-month basis as people, uh, you know, hit their milestones.
We'll be talking about it. We'll be sharing about it. Uh, and there'll be rewards along the way, uh, with a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for anybody who's building on Arb.
Um, how many, how many donations do we have now, Matilda? Where, where are we at? How's that, uh, how's that countdown ticker going?
Uh, we have, let me just refresh this, 615,000, round about there.
Nice. Nice. Yeah. I'm just going to change the goal and say it was 609,420. So we passed it. Yay.
That's what it was. It was a typo. My bad.
You're bad.
Do we get bonus points for having 69 comments on the space?
Oh, I was just noticing that too. Yeah.
Very glad that I'm not the only one who noticed that. I did notice that earlier.
That's amazing.
It's amazing.
Nobody else post a comment from this point on. We're just deleting one comment for every new comment.
It took me a while to find that button.
Just kidding, by the way, your comments are super fabulous and we love them. Uh, and especially if
you're sharing a, uh, a grant or even better, if you were sharing a, uh, a collection of grants,
uh, you know, bonus points to you if you were sharing a collection. Okay. Uh, we have 15 minutes.
Oh my God. All right. Um, if only there was somebody, uh, named Desai Africa, I guess you're
not named Desai Africa, but your account is if only Desai Africa was here to tell us all
about the cool stuff that is going on with Desai Africa, uh, that would be great. Wouldn't
it? I think it would. Hello.
Oh, that was a weird introduction for me, but I hope you're here and you can talk.
Is anybody else not hearing Desai Africa? Oh, hello. Am I being rugged? No, it's, it's not you.
Oh, I heard something then.
That was me saying, I confirming also that I don't hear them either.
Oh no. And right at the same time that happened, salty got rugged too. I was just about to bring
salty up too. What is going on? I got it wrong. Oh no.
Desai Africa. We really wanted to hear about all the cool stuff you're doing. Somebody please share
some details about Desai Africa down in the thread. So people know about all the cool stuff that's
going on in Desai Africa. Um, throw them in your cart. Uh, even if, uh, even if you didn't get to
hear it, go check out what they're doing. I'm sure there's a link in the bio. Um, salty. What is up?
Uh, so glad. So, so good. So blurred. I'm so blurred that you're here.
Hey, it's at the end of GG20. Our brains are fried, but our hearts are big and, and our week
too, which is not what matters. Um, I'm so happy. I just wanted to come in here and say thank you.
Thank you. Thank you to you, the team and everybody that worked really hard this round to, you know,
have the tools that we have and, and the progress that we have made round to round. So thank you.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you again. So much more love, uh, as well to the less grow, um, team
in the down, uh, Anna, everybody, uh, Jimmy, um, wasabi. Thank you for the support too. Oh my God.
I'm just happy. I'm just up here just to hang out and celebrate and laugh. Uh, it has been wonderful.
Just listening to you all, uh, raw fish girl every time, every time you give me life. So thank you.
Thank you. Thank you. Uh, and yeah, thank you for the support on the drag verse as well.
Oh my God. Have the two of you done a space together? Cause I, I just have this feeling
like, I don't know, it'd be like some sort of an eclipse experience or like, you know,
some sort of supernova event. I'm not sure.
Yeah. I feel like that's a great idea. How about GG?
We can put something together. What do you think?
We'll put GG 21 in drag. Yeah, I'm down.
That would be so fun. And also, honestly, one of the things that, that we're working really
hard with the drag verse is to implement, um, audio spaces too. So, uh, I think it will be
really wonderful and it will be my dream to come through for the next time that we get together
to have those tools as well and get together that way. Uh, but it's exciting to see everything that
everybody's building and all the tools that are coming together. And from round to round,
you can see the growth and the impact, not only in the technology side, uh, but also in the community
side. Um, and to see everything happening, it just makes me, makes me really, really happy.
I was a little bit sad because like, I couldn't be online most of the time. I've been celebrating
my anniversary and my birthday being in nature and actually touching grass. And I went to the
coast to see these tall trees and the redwoods, um, area. And I never seen such a stunning trees,
but it made me, you know, be really grateful for everything that we're doing here because it
made me feel like, okay, we, you know, we're really, um, taking care of what matters. And I think
that was makes me happy and it's not only the planet, but also the people. And so I just wanted
to let you know that I thought of all of you when I was like, just breathing that fresh air
amongst such a tall, beautiful trees. Oh, that is so cool. And by the way,
happy belated birthday. What? And happy anniversary. Amazing. Salty, it would be a crime if you didn't
tell people where they could find your grant while you're still up here and there's 11 minutes left.
Uh, where, where, where can people find, uh, the drag verse in GG20?
Yes, definitely. We are participating in the apps and daps around this time. So I'll make sure that
I'll pin the, the tweeting here. We're so close to our 200 goals. So if you can make it happen in
the last few minutes, I will love you all forever. This is really, it's going to be super helpful,
not only for the show that we're putting together again, uh, digitally with drag, but also, or, or,
uh, building, uh, efforts as well. So that would be super wonderful. Daps and apps,
rounds and I'll pin it here. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Amazing. That was amazing. Uh,
I mean, that's quite the offer, a lifetime of love for a small donation. Uh, I think you should all,
you should all consider it seriously. Uh, uh, DCI Africa, it looks like you're back up on stage.
Do you want to try again? Let's see if this will work this time. Yeah. Um, can you hear me this time
around? Yes, we can. Hello. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. GM everyone. Yes. So we go rogue and you know,
had to go back and come back on. Um, yeah, the internet's sometimes too tight. It's buggy.
So yeah, uh, GM everyone, um, we have less than nine minutes to go. So this would be like a very quick
show. Um, this is this Africa and where community that is, um, focused on spreading the awareness of
decentralized science in Africa. So the design space is relatively new, although not still new.
And you know, there are lots of beautiful projects, you know, building in the space,
people trying to solve the problems around, um, publishing for scientists, um, funding too,
and a couple of other issues. And, um, um, like we noticed, and I noticed that, you know, they're like
people who are not really being aware of it happening here. So we serve as an onboarding, um,
community to let scientists around this part, be aware of, um, decentralized science and,
you know, let them see how they can participate, projects they can belong to,
how they can contribute to the general, um, design ecosystem. And also like at 12,
the wet tree ecosystem. And so, so currently like there's this event coming up in Ghana in,
in June, Muakra by IHQ. And it's going to be like a, about a hundred builders, you know,
coming together and iterating on things. So we're looking forward to being there so we can, you know,
brainstorm with people and see how we can put ideas into people to, you know, see them build
tools and solutions around centralized science. Thank you very much for having us.
Thank you for being here and thank you for, uh, not giving up when, when you got rugged and just
coming back, we love it. Uh, and yeah. So I also shout out to other design, um, projects in this space
too. Like there's, um, there's crypto like this, I share this, I get going just, um,
go through the round is decide gets going around. So please go through and donate to all the projects
around. Thank you very much. Thank you. So great to have you up here with us. Uh,
and eight minutes left, John, I see you coming off mute. What is up, man? Tell us all the things.
Eight minutes left. Salty. I got you covered. You broke that 200, but let's, let's send that grant on,
uh, on past that. So folks out there getting that daps and apps, search drag verse, you'll find it.
Toss some, toss some ETH at that baby. Let's make this happen people.
Thank you. I am cream. I am creamy. Thank you.
Oh, yes. You know it. You know it. I'm a, I'm a, I'm a big fan. Maybe not as big as Ben,
because I know that, that, uh, you and you have bonded round over round, but I I've always enjoyed
having you as a part of these rounds and, and as a part of our spaces and, and, uh, yeah,
so it's always been been great to have you here. So I wanted to say that, but also chat GBT wrote this
little poem that I wanted to deliver as these round begins to close out in the realm where
giving meets need, where hearts open wide to sow the seed two weeks of fervor of passion and grace
in this dance of giving, we found our place grant rounds end a journey complete with big hearts and
joy. We take our seat grantees smile bright as the sun, their dreams supported new heights begun
amazing donors with hearts of gold, their generosity, a tale retold in our their giving.
They paved the way for dreams to flourish. Come that may
thanks. Arb echoes in the air. Gratitude abounds beyond compare for every act, both big and small.
We stand in awe ingratitude's thrall. Gitcoin grants a beacon bright illuminating paths,
igniting light hackathon alumni tools and more building futures on every shore community rounds,
a gathering suite where innovation and passion meet ecosystems grow nurtured and fed in this cycle
of giving we forge ahead. So as this round draws to a close, let's celebrate the highs, not the woes
for in our unity we find our strength, together we'll go to any length. To fund what matters our
rallying cry in the face of challenges will never shy, for with each donation big or small,
we shape tomorrow standing tall. Let's fund what matters, let's take the lead, with hearts united
we'll plant the seed, for in the end it's love that we share, in this journey of giving we'll always care.
Thank you ChatGPT, you're such a writer. What the heck? Wow. Okay, so I need to know what the prompt
was there. How did you get ChatGPT to do that sir? Magic. One word. I was going to say carefully, so good.
Yeah, totally. What I want to know is like, like how to, yeah, I mean, ChatGPT is like both a poet
and a cornball at the same time, and I'm here for it. I mean, without reading the whole prompt,
because it wouldn't make a lot of sense. Like, I start with like telling it what I want. So I told
it, can you write a poem about the end of a two week grant round, big hearts and happy grantees,
amazing donors. Thanks, Arb, because I figured it might not pick up that. And then I just copied
and pasted a bunch of stuff from the Gitcoin account and the Gitcoin grants page, a few different
things that just randomly just copied like chunks of text from a few different spots and hit go,
and that's what popped out, so. Amazing, amazing. Well, you know, we're living in the future,
folks. Here we are. ChatGPT will never say like John said it and deliver the way that John delivers,
so ChatGPT will never. Never. I wholeheartedly agree. A scandalo. Anybody even suggesting that
ChatGPT could replace John, that would be ridiculous. John, you truly are a public good
in human form, sir. Thank you for doing what you're doing. And thanks for including ThankArb.
There's a lot of thanks going around. Okay, we got four minutes left. What should we do? Should we
bring up one more shill? Should we celebrate the end of the round together? Should I shut up and
actually get one more donation out the door? I think that's what we should do. That last one is
probably the smart choice. Yeah, probably. I think, Ben, go get some donations in. We can open up the floor
for one more shill. And then I also have a big round of thanks that I want to give. But let us,
in the last three minutes, give someone space. Well, someone's got two minutes to share. It will
be a quick share, because I'd like to count down this round together. So who do we have on stage
who hasn't shared yet? Let's see. Oh, can I not bring anyone on stage? Am I getting rugged?
Getting rugged. Miss DG. I think you are on stage with us.
Hello, are you there? Maybe not. Maybe not. Maybe not. Alrighty. Well, we have one minute and 54
seconds left of GG20.
How is that even possible? How is that even possible? I don't know. Robot Fish Girl,
tell us a story about your experience in past grants rounds. What is it that you like about
Gitcoin? Honestly, it's a combination of things. But I think the biggest thing for me is being able to
come to spaces like this, but also just scroll through the rounds and see, you know, the world can
suck sometimes. I don't think anybody's going to argue with that. So going through these rounds and
seeing all of these incredible projects, particularly, you know, my personal favorites, and I've said
this before, were in the education rounds that we've had in the past, as well as with the climate
rounds, is just scrolling through all of these things and seeing like, wow, there are people who are,
you know, usually bootstrapping projects just to make the world a better place and hoping somebody
might help them with it, which is really cool to see. And it's very much like faith and humanity
restored type of deal. And I think that's my favorite part is that and coming on these spaces
and talking to everybody about just how ridiculously driven and passionate everybody is about making
the world better and doing these public goods. And with that, I timed that perfectly because there are
30 seconds left. Oh, my God. And I didn't donate yet. I screwed it up, everybody. I'm just going to have to
send you money directly. Well, and this fixes every time, but it's always after 59, so actually it's over.
Yeah. My last donation just fell. Oh, my God. Oh, no.
Oh, no. Oh, count it down. He was requesting, yo, yes, he was requesting 100 million dollars in fees.
Three, two, one. And we are at the end of 2020.
One million dollars in fees. I, I, that was, uh...
Yeah, let me, let me paste the cap. Yo, I was like, the last five minutes I was trying to donate,
uh, it wasn't going to. Oh, my God. Sorry for interrupting you there.
I thought I was like, oh, I was counting down, but I was hearing something else.
No, it was a good countdown. It was worth it. It was worth every second of it. Oh, well, you know,
it's always so weird when the round ends, isn't it? It's just like, okay, what do we do now?
We're always sitting on this space with minutes left and we're all filling our carts and we forget that
it's at the 59. It was 7, 7 59. Or at least my time is when it ended, not eight. And that extra
minute always gets us. It always gets through. Yep. Got me last time, too. I was prepared this time.
This is why you got to donate on day like three, you know? Like, don't leave until the end.
This is why when you, when you are looking at the rounds, some, some free strats for GG21,
when you're looking at the rounds at the end of a day, once you've added things to your cart, don't wait.
Do it then. Yeah. And then, you know, go back later and see if there's more. But do it then.
Do it when you have it, you know, in your cart. Because you will, this will happen.
Yeah. And definitely don't try to donate while you're hosting a space. I can attest to that being
a bad idea. That's why I did. Having done that literally in almost every grants round that I've
been involved in. Uh, I, I think I have made the same mistake in the last like few minutes,
almost every round. The good news is usually that I've been here. So yeah.
The good news is that it wasn't the only time. That's why I did all my donations last night.
Cause I knew that this would happen today would be crazy busy for me. So I was like,
I'm going to make, do all my donations tonight. Um, so, or, or just, um, uh, when I used to record
those, how to donate loom videos, because I had to get it absolutely perfect. Um, I would re-record
them quite a lot, but I got a lot of donations in like, yeah, you know, it, uh, it, the good news is
it wasn't my only donation. Although compared to past rounds, I definitely, uh, did not, you know,
jump in as much as I have. I, I beat you on the leaderboard then. I did beat you this time. I did.
Yeah. Yeah, it's true. Although, uh, I, I, maybe I get bonus points for all the thank our rewards
that we're rolling out the door. And I am saying that just for the sake of making Julian happy,
because I, that is my job, uh, to make sure that we tell people about all the cool rewards and
opportunities that are out there. Uh, and in particular, uh, now that the round is over,
go put up your milestones. Don't, don't wait, uh, do it, you know, while you still got all that gg20
energy, cause you're going to, you're going to be tired later. You're going to be coming down from
this whole thing. Um, you know, so it's a good time to like, just go in, uh, you know, and actually
write out your plans for the next three months. Uh, you know, what do you plan on doing each month?
And, and what are the implications of that? And how are you going to have an impact on the world?
Cause that's what we're all here to do. Uh, by the way, robot fish curl, thank you for bringing it back to like
the reality of the world that we live in. I feel like a lot of the time we're all just kind of
escaping the real world to live here in, in the web three world, which is, I totally get it. I'm
doing it too, but you know, it, uh, we, we are all trying to make a difference on planet earth too.
And, uh, and the world can be a pretty messy place to put it nicely. Um, but yeah, I agree.
This community really does give me hope with all the cool things people are building and
the impact that they're having. Um, so yeah, thank you for that. That, that really resonated with me.
Um, Matilda, you, you had some, uh, some thank yous and things you wanted to do.
Yeah. I mean, I just wanted to thank everyone for participating in GG 20. I want to give a special
shout out to our incredible partners, this round Arbitrum and thank of, uh, it was a real super charged
round and we are super excited about this partnership and about running more future rounds on Arbitrum.
Um, so I just wanted to give a huge shout out for that. I've yeah. Amazing partnership,
amazing first round of many. So I'm super excited about, uh, the future and I know a lot of us are,
so I just wanted to give a huge shout out and I just wanted to give another huge shout out to you,
Ben, um, for co-hosting these spaces with me, for just bringing all the vibes. Honestly, uh,
Gitcoin grants will not be the same without you. I appreciate your time.
Um, and yeah, I just, I'm very grateful, uh, GG 20. We are officially at 632,000 donated, um,
over 30,000 unique donors for this round. Um, so yeah, it's been a really successful round all round
and yeah, keep an eye out on our, uh, we're going to have a recap community call next week and we will
also be, um, yeah, sharing the results and everything as well. And if you're a grantee,
you will be receiving another email from me this week as well, just as a little follow up on the round.
Um, but yeah, that is all for me. And thank you so much for all the kind words and for the shout outs
to, to Arbitrum and thank Arb. I definitely will add my, my thanks to the Arbitrum community,
to Arbitrum DAO, to everybody who's been helping to spread the good word. Um, did you go and vote in
that meme contest? That meme contest was pretty lit, uh, Thriving GG 20. Uh, I sure love that. If you haven't
seen it, you got to go check it out. Um, and you know what else, uh, I want to give thanks to is
Matilda. Uh, you know, if it wasn't for you doing all the things that you do, uh, this would not be
nearly as cool of a place to be. Um, you know, and I also want to give a shout out to Sejal. I know she's
not here right now. She's probably just about to wake up where she is. Uh, but you know, uh, just one of
those people who does so much work behind the scenes that nobody ever sees and knows about. Um, so big
shout out to Sejal if you're listening to this recording and of course to Awaki and Kyle and Meg
and all the leadership at Gitcoin who like, you know, do all the stuff that we get all the credit
for, even though they're the ones really responsible. Um, so thank you to them for making all this cool
stuff a reality. But of course, as was said earlier, really the people who need the most, uh, props
is those 30,000 plus of you who donated, vonated, grownated in this round, uh, which is
pretty phenomenal. Uh, so cool to see you all hanging out on Arbitrum. Uh, so cool to see you
doing all the cool stuff that you're doing, uh, and really just thrilled that this community
continues to show up round after round after round, donating, vonating, grown eating lots and lots of
cash to help support public goods, to help support open source software impact in the real world and
online. Um, yeah, I, I just, I am so inspired by this community, honestly. Thank you, uh, to everybody
here who is in the audience, uh, give yourself a pat on the back, a high five, um, and give yourself a
hug, uh, you know, whatever it is that, uh, that you gotta do to make yourself feel good. Rub your hands
together, touch your heart, feel good. Uh, and, and thank you for, for just making this, uh, such a special
thing that happens quarter after quarter. Um, yeah, I don't know what else, what else, what else
are we going to say, right? Is this thing's closing? I don't know. It just always feels
weird to stop talking. Yeah. It's always kind of awkward to end these spaces. It's like we could,
we could carry on talking for forever, but, um, yeah, I don't have much more to say. I mean,
you know, I know a lot of people give thanks to get coin, but we can't do what we do without any of you.
So I just super, I just echo everything you just said, Ben, super grateful for this community. Every
round I get to a moment where I just get all emotional and I'm like, damn, this is such a
cool community, you know? And yeah, just, just love it. So I don't know if anyone else on stage
wants to say a few last words before we close out. Um, yeah, feel free.
Well, don't all speak at once.
And of course, I barely wait five seconds and just jump back in anyway.
Uh, I, uh, I heard a rumor that we might be paying out matching funds a little faster than
usual this round. Don't want to, don't want to like over promise, but I heard some rumors.
I don't know. Do you know if that's true?
Um, yeah, I mean, that's, that's pretty big alpha to drop, but I mean, it's the closing space,
so why not? Yeah. I do think that, um, I can say that it is most likely going to be
the fastest payout or wait, what are, what are the words that I'm trying to, we're going to be
paying out matching funds in record time this round, most likely. So keep an eye for that.
Yeah. No, no promises. Yeah. No promises. Okay. Wait, I've got to hit at the different button.
We will be, we are going to be doing some, uh, it's slightly different this round. We're going
to be releasing a date, uh, when the results are going to drop. So keep an eye out for that date.
Um, cause that's when, um, the results will drop and most likely payouts will happen at the same time.
So, uh, keep an eye out for that. We'll be releasing that very shortly, but it'll be quick,
quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick.
I, uh, there you go. Some, uh, unforced alpha. Uh, thank you. Thank you for, for going along with my
accidental alpha release. Uh, no, no worries. No worries. Um, it is, you know, those are here,
get the alpha. That's, that's what these spaces are about, right? That's right. The early bird gets
the worm and the late Twitter space person gets the alpha. I don't, yeah, there you go. Uh,
um, we'll, we'll, we'll workshop it. We'll workshop it. Yeah, please. Like, let's, we'll be back to
come back to tomorrow's space where we'll actually say something funny at the end. Uh, robot fish girl.
Do you, uh, you, you probably got some like close this out music. I think that's the only
appropriate way to do this. Yeah. Yeah.
It going grants.
Uh, really playing. This is the outro on the TNS. Cause I just rediscovered mint jams and I
forgot how much I love this album. Oh my God. So go, go look up mint jams, uh, by Cassiopeia.
It's the whole album's on YouTube. Japanese fusion jazz band from the eighties.
In case you couldn't tell from the everything you're hearing.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm bopping.
I don't know about you.
Is there going to be a space tomorrow for, for, for gg20 like wrap up?
Um, not tomorrow. It's going to be early next week. So no community for this week.
Early next week.
Early next week. Yeah.
Now tomorrow is reserved for sleeping.
Jimmy, that means you.
I think Jimmy and that crew is already sleeping.
I was going to say, I think the moment the timer hit zero, Jimmy was unconscious.
I think, I think after gg19, he went offline for like a week or two.
He did. Yeah, he did.
Yeah, yeah.
That's good. That's good. I genuinely hope everybody takes a break, you know,
everybody's been working real hard. Everybody always goes real hard in these rounds.
Yeah. Give yourself a little break.
Yeah, that's right. That's why I think we decided to not force the community call this week.
Give, give people some breathing room and then early next week, we'll dive straight back into it.
So it'll be, it'll be a good one.
Be like salty, touch some grass, drink some water, hug a tree, hug a friend.
Self-care. Don't bite the head off a chocolate rabbit moments before getting on a phone call.
Exactly. Go say goodnight to your kids.
Amazing. This is going to go for like eight minutes, so just rub the space for you.
Yeah, I'm about to do that. Thank you everyone again for your participation in GG20 for being here.
Have a good rest of your day, evening, morning, wherever you might be in the world.
Go check out your donor data.
And go check out the donor data.
Get coin donor data dot XYZ.
I'm going to get, I'm going to get my Ben to come on this and, and, and talk about that, Ben.
You're going to, Ben Boddy.
He's going to come on and be like, yeah.
So if anybody goes and looks at their donor data for the next, uh, the last round, I think that'd be, that'd be really interesting.
His entire.
That's just how he sounds all the time.
Amazing. Love it.
That's great.
It's been beautiful, everyone.
Have a good one. Thanks, everyone.
See y'all next week.
See you next week.
