We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
If you need a lift, who's the kid in the drop?
Who else will slip?
GM, GM, guys.
Super pumped for today's show.
We are still in Asia after three weeks of traveling.
It's wild, but it's life-changing.
So we have two more minutes of intro.
This is going to be a really interesting episode.
It's something that we have never done before, actually, you know, talking about traveling.
That sounds crazy, right?
But we have many topics ready, so I can't wait, guys.
But let's pump it a bit.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
And pump it, pump it, pump it, pump it, pump it, pump it, pump it, pump it, pump it.
Turn up for the radio, let's just get me a little.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
It's really interesting, you know, because I know it's 9 a.m. Saturday in Europe.
So, you know, a lot of MFers is still sleeping, still waiting for the crypto pumping, but we're here, we're back and super pumped to be here, guys.
You know, we love hosting this episode about different topics like traveling and exploring new cultures and places because it's like a snapshot in the moment, right?
And we can get back in some time and listen to the vibes like we did after the second ApeFest and after the other side drop.
So, this is going to be really cool. Beast, how are you doing, man? What's good today?
Yo, GM, GM. I'm doing well, man.
I found some local coffee, made a nice pour-over. So, I'm ready. It tastes actually amazing. Got some beans from Colombia. Not actually really from here, but it's made here, you know, so it works.
And, yeah, I'm good. I'm excited, you know. It's been beautiful, like, three, four weeks in Asia right now.
There was that, like, week or two break in Europe also, right, which I never did before, at least the past two years.
So, it's a lot of learnings. There is, you know, a lot of excitement and I'm happy to be here. How are you doing, man?
Yeah, all good. I can hear the cave sound again. You know, Beast is in the co-org here, onboarding. The mask is there. How many people is there right now listening to you, man?
Man, when I was entering, I checked. There was a bunch of people, even during the weekend.
But, fortunately, all of them had headphones. So, I think they're going to be pretty okay.
They're not, I'm checking right now, they're not probably going to kick me out. But, yeah, we'll see.
Yeah, but it was great to travel and we were not alone, actually, you know, staying in Asia and spending some time here.
I prepared a few tweets, you know, from Laura Roth and Illa, you know, she and they both traveled, I think, to Japan after that.
So, there were people that traveled to Vietnam or Korea. So, absolutely loved it, you know.
And if we have an A-Fest in Europe next year, I believe many people will stay in Europe and travel around, which is epic.
And maybe, Beast, I will start with a tweet that actually Storm, you know, tweeted a week ago, actually.
We met her there, right? Did you have a chance to talk to her?
Of course, yes. We met during the A-Fest, right, during the main event.
So, it was nice to connect the face and, yeah, it was nice to chat with her.
So, kick it off with the tweet, man.
But, yeah, I remember before she decided to go, she was like, should I go, you know, it's my first, actually, travel outside of the U.S.
And she tweeted, I have so much to share with you all about my experiences overseas, traveling solo internationally for the first time.
I, for sure, am not the same person as I was before leaving America.
Oh, she was actually, she was getting that passport to go, right?
She was traveling for the first time. I remember now.
Yep. And she also added that this trip has truly changed my entire outlook on life and the world, you know.
And that's why we want to do this episode, because it was really interesting to travel to Hong Kong, to a place that we haven't been before, right?
And many people haven't been to Asia.
And also, many people actually haven't, especially in the U.S., haven't left the U.S.
You know, this was their first time to travel abroad, which is amazing, you know, that ApeFest brought us together.
So, yeah, man, how did you like that trip to Hong Kong?
And I was actually thinking what I would do different.
And I think the alpha was to actually come there, like, a week earlier, you know, not staying, like, a few days after, but coming earlier, enjoy the city, and then do the ApeFest, because I was dead after the ApeFest, man.
Man, every single time when I go to these in real life events, the NFT events, like, I have a feeling like the vibe before is always better than when everyone starts leaving, right?
I'm sure maybe you experience it also when you, because you stayed a little longer, that you can feel it in the city, that it's suddenly kind of empty, right?
So, I think if I'm supposed to change something, I would also go this way, like, try to come, like, a few more, like, two, three days ahead.
Not only that you fix the jet lag, because especially, you know, if you fly to overseas or to here, it's, you know, you're always kind of fucked the first days, so you have to go over it.
But definitely, even the vibe in the beginning is always kind of, like, better, more exciting.
So, yeah, yeah, yeah, agree.
That's what I would do also.
100%, man.
And especially after talking to, like, 5,000 people, you know, it's really refreshing to come earlier and enjoy the city.
I also see SG SoliSoldier.
So, if you want to join us, guys, on stage, just request I get you here.
Yeah, hit the request button, guys, so that we can hang out here on the stage.
I just wanted to add, also, if you join earlier, you can still talk, because usually after the first event, like, all the shouting, meeting all these people, we all know how our voices then, you know, heard.
So, yeah, definitely.
Yeah, before I say hi to Tino, I want to add one more thing.
Yesterday, I went to Sona here, and I was talking in Czech, actually, about Hong Kong, and, like, three or four people in the Sona were like, oh, you're talking about Hong Kong?
I was like, yeah, yeah, just talking about that.
And they were like, oh, yeah, I lived there for, like, 20 years, you know, I just got from Hong Kong.
I was like, what's going on here?
Like, did you go there for ApeFest?
But no, it wasn't ApeFest.
It was actually Fintech Week.
So, a lot of people actually come here to Bali from Hong Kong.
So, it's really funny.
Like, yeah.
But, Tino, you crazy MF-er.
It's, like, 9 a.m. Saturday.
What the fuck are you doing here, man?
Yeah, it's pretty funny because I went to retweet the space, right?
And I'm like, start listening.
I'm like, what the fuck is going on?
Did I look at the water?
Like, what's going on?
I really was counting on the afternoon.
But then I seriously started listening and it didn't make any sense.
So, I went to find my headphones.
And I just wanted to come to say hi and just hang out for, like, five minutes because I have to leave.
But, yeah.
So, good to hear you guys finally.
Yeah, man.
Like, I imagine that when you start listening, you're like, what the hell are they talking about?
Like, it's not NFTs.
It's not Web3.
It's not floors going up.
It's not floors going up.
It's not made by apes.
So, we're still riding the Hong Kong vibes, you know, wave.
And it's so hot here.
It's like 30 degrees Celsius.
It's like 100 degrees Fahrenheit here.
You know, I'm sitting here just without a t-shirt.
So, you know, I believe Europe is kind of different.
I woke up to snow today.
So, I'm in Slovakia right now and I woke up to snow.
So, of course, today I have a plan for a frozen lake.
But, yeah.
It's just a little bit of snow, of course.
It disappears right away.
But the morning feeling with, like, the little bit of, like, snow powder on the grass was amazing.
I love that.
Damn, man.
That sounds terrible, actually.
Yeah, I know.
I would actually switch it right away for, like, I love cold.
But I would be much more happier, like, to be right now, like, shirtless on the beach, to be honest.
But still, yeah.
I'm also, like, I was going through some stuff yesterday.
I was writing my newsletter yesterday about Hong Kong and about, like, really the community, building a community inside a community.
And I was still, you know, like, and I see it also in my timeline, both on Instagram and also on Twitter, that people are still kind of, you know, living off and, like, kind of still being there with their heads.
And just thinking, you know, like, following up with many people.
And I think this is also alpha, you know, like, that you don't have to do everything right there on the event.
And I was really careful about this right now and, you know, grateful we were trying to kind of distribute the chocolate sample to the right people and just go around and, you know, like, meet the right people.
But then you also need to have some time, like, without any agenda, you know, like, just be there in the moment.
Just enjoy whatever the music, the conversation, whatever comes.
And sometimes it's, and I was thinking about it yesterday, you know, that in so many times, it's much better, you know, to focus being there present and then following up with that person, you know, when you come back.
Because also that person has some kind of agenda there and is in a different vibe than doing business with you or something.
So I think this was a pretty big learning for me when I thought about it, you know, like, that following up might be much better if you spend a big quality time with that person over there.
Because, you know, like, you focus on not on sales or whatever and we're not selling anything.
But, like, you know, like, you're not marketing, you're not selling, but you are really there making genuine connections.
And then as a follow up, you can, you know, like, you come from a better space, if you know what I mean.
Yeah, man, I 100% agree.
I did both, you know, I planned stuff and I just went with the flow.
Also, what really surprised me here, and especially here in Bali, because I had an idea that if I stay in Asia, I will get a lot of new apes from Asia, right?
But obviously, the Twitter algorithm doesn't work like that.
So, basically, you just find people that you interact with.
It doesn't matter where you are.
So, yeah, again, I didn't find many new apes in Asia.
I found them in the real life during the Ape Fest, but not on Twitter, which is really weird.
But I see SG Soldier on stage and lots.
So, SG Soldier, how are you doing, man?
You are the one of the Asians that I actually met here on Twitter.
You're still here, so love it, man.
How are you doing?
Let's do a GM game.
Have you guys ready?
What you doing, bro?
What's happening, man?
Party hard!
Yo, I'm at Phuket, you know, all the way up here in Thailand.
It's like one hour behind Bali, I guess.
It's about like 3 p.m. right now.
We're just walking around, just chilling, having coffee, getting ready for a night of fun again.
And I was like, dude, 3 p.m.
That was something I needed to do.
I was telling Kev Woozy.
And then your Twitter notifications popped up.
And I was like, oh, it's a grateful show.
Right, I gotta be there.
So now I'm like with my earpiece on, walking around.
People looking at me like an idiot.
Yo, what's up, grateful, hey.
What's up, Kev Woozy here?
What's up, guys?
You travel together?
Yeah, boy.
We're here in Phuket.
8th pass round 2!
That sounds dangerous.
8th pass Phuket.
Oh, my God.
Oh, that's awesome.
Is Lost there with you guys, too?
Because I heard that he tries a new thing, you know?
He converted aquamarine backgrounds into orange, but now he works for purple ones.
So I'm not sure if you are safe as G-Soli soldier there.
We're pretty safe.
We're pretty safe.
I have a goalie, a bodyguard with me.
So we're safe.
But, man, it was amazing to meet you, actually, during the Ape Fest, as always.
And I'm really happy that we recreated that photo, right?
So it's like a tradition.
I can wait for the Ape Fest 2024.
It's going to be epic.
A hundred percent, bro.
A hundred percent.
And I really hope that Ape Fest 2024 is in Europe.
You know, we heard rumors, right?
Amsterdam, or maybe even Dubai.
Some people were, like, bouncing, throwing out the idea of Dubai.
But wherever it is, I really hope it's closer to Europe.
And I get to meet you guys there.
Looking forward to it, man.
A hundred percent, man.
That would be epic.
Like, Amsterdam, I've been a few times.
I think it's going to be, for a lot of apes, it's going to be probably the best time of their life, you know, there.
There's so many stoners in the Ape Club, right?
Tito is talking from his experience, right?
Well, like, 20 years ago.
Yeah, but I was tweeting to someone.
I think Baron was, you know, like, he's the one who's really pushing it to be in Amsterdam.
And somebody was like, yeah, I'm going there.
So I need to scout for the locations.
And I'm like, there is, like, 100% amazing location.
It's, like, a bit of an island, I would say.
And it's full of, like, huge warehouses with artworks, a lot of, like, street art exhibitions and a lot of, like, murals.
And that's just, you know, like, that's, like, 100% fit for Ape Fest.
That's, like, what we did right now in Hong Kong.
But even more kind of, like, street vibe, you know, like, and so that would be amazing.
We have a place, we have a venue, so let's do this.
We can organize it by ourselves or we can write AIP and do, you know, like, I don't know how we call it, like, Ape Fest rehearsal or something like that.
Some Ape Coin Festival or something like that, guys.
Yeah, I absolutely love that idea, guys.
Ape Coin Fest, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, let's do that.
And I see Lost on stage.
I have to say hi to him, you know.
We had such a great time in Hong Kong.
I absolutely love how he turned my Ape into absolutely something different.
It looked like the background from aquamarine, like, the ocean, beautiful, you know, I can imagine, like, the Caribbean color into the sunset color, probably.
That's orange.
So, Lost, how you doing, man?
What's good today?
I'm still recovering, I think, from Hong Kong, I guess.
I woke up a little stuffy over here, but feeling good.
I'm, man, I'm just keeping my eye on all this stuff in the Dow.
We got all these elections going on.
We got two different AIPs from two different blockchains now.
So, we had the Polygon proposal up.
Now, we've got an Optimism proposal up.
So, the conversation has just begun.
I think we might see a third proposal come in from a third blockchain provider.
But it's not there yet.
But the conversation is definitely getting interesting.
We also have two different proposals to completely remove staking.
One, removing the ApeCoin-only staking pool.
And then another, completely reorganizing all of the pools.
So, lots going on in the ApeCoin Dow, keeping me busy 24-7 over there.
Man, great to hear that.
Yeah, I was also checking AIPs just before we started this space.
A lot of stuff is actually happening.
I know Aaron also has his proposal there, right, about the comedy club.
So, that's a lot of fun.
I actually started watching more comedians after his show in the Bored and Silly.
And there are some really good stuff.
And it's really a mastery, you know, to be a good comedian.
So, absolutely love it.
Last, share a bit with us, how did you enjoy the Hong Kong?
And I know that you travel to Vietnam or some other places after that.
Am I correct?
I went to Taiwan.
So, I went from Hong Kong eight days and then I went to Machi's Machi Fest for two or three days out there in Taiwan.
And, yeah, I mean, it's VIP, VIP for all the apes.
VIP, VIP, VIP for the ApeCoin Dow members.
Machi's showing a lot of love.
So, there's a huge difference.
Like, Hong Kong is like this sprawling city, New York, San Francisco, Oceanside, metropolis vibe.
And then Taiwan is like a beautiful city, but it's right next to this like crazy beautiful forest.
So, it's like there is also seaside, but there is also forest.
So, it's again like kind of like that New York coastal vibe.
But then there's also these hills.
So, there's more of that San Francisco.
And all I have to compare is the vibes in America.
So, I don't mean to say, you know, they're exactly the same.
They're completely different.
But all I had to compare to was sort of New York and San Francisco.
So, I felt at home personally.
I'm not living in the middle of America and like Ohio or something.
So, I wasn't culture shocked.
There was no big surprises.
There was no difficulty communicating.
I got the little octopus card.
And once you get that, you're good to go.
If you didn't bring a lot of cash, you just swipe and load up one of those octopus cards.
They got octopus card acceptance at every street corner and every restaurant.
So, that's the one thing I'm over here just suffering.
I paid $30 for breakfast this morning.
And I couldn't help but think like, man, I could have fed a whole table full of people with this in Hong Kong.
But I can't be comparing our prices at all.
I got to get that out of my head quick.
So, Lost, if I might ask you because we talked a lot on the show about ApeFest and everything around it.
But how about the event in Taiwan?
So, what was the highlight for you personally there?
Well, I mean, I guess I got to just like shout out to Machi.
I've spent a lot of time talking to Machi through the ApeCoin DAO and on the ApeCom stage over the past couple of years and about different proposals.
And he's voted against a couple of my proposals.
And I've never held it against him.
We've always had a good relationship.
You know, he's got a lot of money.
He's got fuck you money.
But he never says fuck you to the community.
He always spends time.
He always shows up.
He always explains what he thinks.
He tries to teach and inform us on how we can be successful.
So, because of that, I've always had a ton of respect.
And I guess it shows because when I went there, you know, he took care of me.
He served me up a sandwich at Morton's.
I don't even think they sell sandwiches at the Morton's Steakhouse.
But he made them serve us all of sandwiches for the Apes.
So, super fun experience seeing how Machi gets down.
He's like a celebrity, man.
We went to his after party.
And it's like we arrived together.
And we were, you know, talking with each other.
But as soon as he stepped into that motherfucker, man, he is a real celebrity.
Like, from TV, from music, from helping people out there in the city.
I literally, like, had to get away because people were trying to take videos and pictures.
Like, I was standing next to Snoop Dogg out there.
It was fucking surreal.
So, that's just another, like, layer.
Like, not only does he have the fuck you money, this man is literally, like, loved and coveted by his entire country out there.
So, it's just a real contrast to what we see sometimes on Twitter.
And I guess that was really the whole vibe of the overall experience, right?
I get to meet so many people.
And sometimes we go back and forth on Twitter.
We don't agree on things.
Or we like products in the community.
We don't like products from the ecosystem.
But when we get in IRL, the whole vibe is just different.
Everybody seeing eye to eye.
Being able to look at each other's face and see that people care.
Or see, you know, maybe some people are a little bit disinterested.
Just a different vibe.
Better vibe.
And, yeah, the highlight of Taiwan is Machi.
I mean, Machi Fest is the highlight of Taiwan.
The man is a real-life celebrity.
And he gives us so much of his time.
So, yeah, shout-out to him for letting us all come out there and party it up.
And he's got an office up there.
He let us go up there and tear it up.
So, yeah, just, yeah, wide open doors for us up there.
Man, was it your first time in Asia at last?
It was my first passport.
Yeah, I never – I didn't have a passport before, I guess.
I'm not big on taking pictures, to be honest.
So, it was the most selfies I've got floating out in the world of me.
And it was my first time getting up out of here.
Man, everybody just selfie, selfie, selfie, selfie.
I'm like, all right.
All right.
So, by, like, the second day, I'm like, oh, selfie, selfie, selfie.
Otherwise, yeah, I've now met, like, 130 fucking apes per day.
There's no shot.
I mean, I love you all, but there's just no shot I can remember.
130 apes per day with jet lag.
We're trying to keep up with 40 events a day.
It's just – the pictures make sense.
The pictures make sense.
We don't have to send them on the timeline, but at least when I look in that DM, I'm like, oh, yeah.
I met you at, like, 3 o'clock in the morning on the fucking streets of Hong Kong, and you flagged me down coming out of the club.
I remember that.
I remember that.
I do actually remember that.
But without the picture?
Man, that reminds me of some Beast's experiences from that after party, right?
And Deans, actually.
I don't know, man.
They just woke up on their rooms, and they were like, what happened?
We need to check our photo libraries.
And, yeah, Beast, do you have anything else to add to this?
I have no idea about this story.
He has no idea what you're talking about.
I have no idea what you're talking about, man.
But what I can say that I was definitely playing this selfie game, too, because as Lost mentioned, it's fucking impossible to remember all the people.
So the easiest way still is to take that phone, do that selfie, and just send it to the other person.
I checked with Lost, though, and I swear I thought we did that selfie, and I don't have it here.
So probably, like, one of us has it in the phone.
Yeah, that's the secret to the selfies.
Don't forget to send them, because I do have, like, four or five in my camera roll, and I'm literally just like, who is this motherfucker?
Like, who is this ape?
Yeah, what I do, I do, like, one more upgrade of this.
So I sometimes, you know, like, when I add somebody on Twitter or take a picture with them, I screenshot that.
I screenshot their Twitter and just write it down.
You right-click save that UMFR, man.
Like, he's crazy.
Like, so 2021, man.
And I actually type with my finger, you know, like, paint with my finger some kind of note to that person.
And the next picture is usually the selfie with them.
So it's a bit of a hack that I've been using on all the NFT events since, like, day one.
And it works really well, because then what you can do, you can actually go through screenshots, you know.
You don't have to go through your photos, but you go only through the screenshots and then add people to the list or do whatever you want, DM them and stuff like that.
So that's my little hack, and it's been working for me like magic.
Wow, that was alpha.
Also, talking about Dejan, you know, he's Tino's business partner.
He actually went for that party, and he had 1% of battery, and he basically has his credit card only on Apple Pay.
So I think he's really ready to enter the crypto, because his risk awareness is really, really high.
Yeah, so it was pretty funny, because we came from ApeFest, and Dejan was like, yeah, my phone, I need to charge it at least for a little bit.
And Beast goes, no, don't worry, I have the charger, you know, I have the power bank for both of us, just come over, right?
And so he went to change, and went back, and Beast in the taxi goes like, yeah, bro, but I didn't find it, so don't worry, it's fine.
That was a trick, you know, that was a trick, we're not chilling at the hotel during the ApeFest, man.
Man, the same happened to me in 21, Beast chilled me some mint, you know, so I minted, and he was like, oh, sorry, I was kidding, man, it's shit.
And I was like, damn, I minted 20, man.
Yeah, but I have to say an update about that as well, because as you said, like, Dejan is a well-known street artist, he's my business partner, we've been running the brand together for like 12 years, and he came for NFT London with me, I believe, and some other events, and he was not really impressed, to be honest.
Like, he was usually, like, having his own, like, friends meeting there, there in the city, and so on, and right now he came, and after the first event, the BAYC Council, he was like, dude, this is my people, it's like, full of artists, creators, and stuff like that, because it was a different crowd than normal NFT events, and he actually did decide to get a mutant, and we've been searching for, like, trying to find one ever since.
So we've been hunting, there was one that we really wanted him to buy, but it didn't work out in the end, somebody was quicker, but we're still searching and waiting for the right one, because he needs to have, like, really, really fitting one to his personality and his art and everything.
So this is, you know, like, one by one, Grateful got me last year into the club, after the A-Fest, and, you know, like, now we also have one scalp, so it's amazing.
Yeah, I think this is very important to bring, you know, bring plus ones, because I talked about it with Captain Zwingli, right, and he also saw this, like, a huge opportunity, especially, you know, if you go to Asia, there are so many people, like, SG Soli Soldier, you know, they didn't have to travel that far, so I think that it was really awesome to meet them there,
and to meet sub-communities, and I really believe that we got to be onboarding people, really, one by one, slowly, and they love it, you know, like, the experience was insane,
and talking about the BYC console, that was actually the night that, you know, Lost tried to, I don't know how to say that, like, what's the name for that, like, Oranginate, I don't know, how you call that, man, when you turn my ape into the orange background?
SG Soli Soldier, go ahead, man, I'm really curious what you want to say.
SG Soli Soldier, yeah, I have no idea how they changed the background, but I just wanted to add, right, like, I agree 100%, there were so many different, like, apes from different nationalities that I met this time around in Hong Kong, you know, last year in New York, it was, like, what, 80% Westerners, you know, 20% Asians, but this time around, I see, like, you know, 60-40, 50-50, and the best part is, there were so many apes from places like, what, Mongolia, right,
I was on a bus back from Kai Tak back to Central, with a whole bus of Mongolian apes, and we were just like, dude, I didn't even know that there were so many of them, and it was great, you know, connecting, building these connections with Asian apes from all over the world.
That's a great point, man, yeah, I also love that, and really great that more people could travel, you know, and effort, especially for that region, right, so if it's in Europe, that is going to be also interesting, but last, you wanted to add something, what's the name of the tactic that you use, how to turn the ape into the orange bag ones, so, how do you call that ritual, or how you call it, I don't know, you know, he got candles there, you know, he prepared candles, some sounds,
I don't know, what, was it like a bell, or what, what you had?
Well, we're facilitators at the DAO, so we like F-words, but we just call it fixing, we just call it fixing it, that's all it is, you know, nothing, no ritual, or nothing, it's just, it's an aquamarine, we gotta fix it, we're fixing it up, that's all.
Lost, I was thinking about upgrade, but fixing sounds also good.
Yeah, fixing, yeah, sometimes, you know, when they want to get rid of people, they call that person that gets rid of them the fixer, so, fixing is just, it's got a lot of the right connotation around that word, fixing, you gotta fix that, fix that aquamarine out.
Yeah, it sounds really interesting, even for me, as not a native English speaker, right, but fixing, it reminds me that something is broken, and you need to fix it, right, so, basically, you said that my background is broken, but okay, I got it, I got it.
But we had such a great time, like, this was so much fun, and I actually came up with the idea today, you know, based on Tino's tweet, actually, about Ape, it's like, how to improve my sticker game, and basically, I already started to working on that with a factory, and I will have sticker size of the Rich Class Decor's ApeCoin rocks, so.
Bro, but did you see my tweet, because you were like, you were like, oh, I should start posting big stickers like a rock, I was literally placing a rock of a size, of a human size, at ApeFest 2021, bro, so, like, I'm gonna pin that tweet, because this is.
Oh, my God, so, I need to come up with something else, okay.
This is serious, bro, this is serious, I'm gonna pin the tweet, it's right here, and, yeah, that motherfucker, that's me, and, yeah, like, you, yeah, it's nothing new to came up with, so, you, please, do more of the brainstorming, use ChatGPT, it's fine, it's okay to use, you know.
We're talking about fixing, man, like, I think ChatGPT was fixed today, what do you think?
Or, or the opposite, I'm not sure, man, I'm not sure.
Yeah, that's crazy, that's crazy, but, yeah.
Guys, I'm sorry, I just want to say, I just have to drop off, so good to hear you finally, and I'll talk to you very soon, so come back to the, to this continent, and I can't wait to hang out again, so.
Tino, before you go, enjoy the snow, but after the space, I will go to the beach.
Hope it sounds good.
It sounds amazing, I'm all in, bro.
I'll send you a picture from the frozen lake today, okay?
I'll do a little cold plunge later, so that I can feel something, you know.
All right, guys, let's go, have a good one, ciao.
Have a good one, man.
Last, I want to follow up on what you said about a passport, so, basically, was this your, like, first time travel outside of the US, because of the Ape Fest?
Yeah, I've always been, like, an introverted, extrovert, I guess, so I've just been real comfortable at home and in our home country, in my home state.
I've only really even been to, like, three or four of the other states.
I've been to Mexico, but just stayed in this continent, and that was before I needed a passport to really go, you know, explore this continent.
I didn't used to need the passport for Mexico, but now you do, and it was.
It is my first passport, first time leaving the continent, and I got comments on stickers, too.
I made stickers this season.
I didn't have too many of them, but I gave them all out.
I had some stickers that go inside the window, so, yeah, maybe you're going for size.
Maybe you're going for unique placement.
If you let me inside your building, and it seems like it's an appropriate sort of place, you might find a lost sticker looking right back at you before you walk back into that door.
So, the inside stickers are alpha, especially if you want to put them on your car or something, put them inside that window.
Or you get inside an Uber, and you're like, hey, can I put a sticker?
I didn't, I wasn't putting stickers up in people's car, I promise.
That's a joke.
But, just another style of stickers, and now you got me thinking, because when we were fixing yours, and you just show up with the fucking six by six foot circular sticker, I mean, I didn't know we were going to need an orange background that size, frankly.
I didn't, I didn't even know.
12 gauge got the squares prepared, and he could have prepared us some five by five orange squares, but Grateful Abe literally has the sticker the size of your chest.
It's like, the size of one full breast, the sticker is like, enormous, it's massive.
So, if you're going to go bigger than that, I need something.
Yeah, I'm going to need, we're going to need a bigger square of orange.
Like, 2024 is the year of bigger stickers, so, and heavier, you know, I try to do a really thick one, so it's got to be, it's got to be crazy, guys.
Like, you're not going to, you know, maybe I put some, you know, some kind of material in it, like, maybe wood, you know, or something like that, maybe, maybe marble a little bit.
I don't know, I'll come with something.
Like, the first step you did this time, I realized that the glue is much better, because when I was taking off the t-shirt, and I checked the back, I put the stickers off, right?
Don't say that!
I still, I still have that fucking circle there, I guess the laundry will fix it.
But when I was like, okay, this one works.
Man, actually, it's funny that a lot of people actually put stickers on Daniel's hoodie, right?
And I was checking my photo library, and I'm probably the one who started this trend with Lara Wolf in London, actually.
I put a sticker on her back, and it was 2022, probably, I think, yeah.
I put a sticker on her back, and she actually did a free promotion for us.
I think it was a Grateful Show sticker.
So then I started, you know, putting stickers on other people.
Then in Paris, I put a sticker on Garga.
And now it's like a tradition.
So I can't wait for the bigger stickers.
Imagine, like, you know, 10 feet tall sticker on Daniel's back.
Like, that would be really weird.
Maybe the security will get me out of the Ape Fest, but yeah, Lost.
I would like to know, man, like, how does, like, how was it actually to travel that far from U.S.?
And were there some things that you were really surprised in Hong Kong, you know, that were really different?
Something like a culture shock, or I don't know, anything that was really interesting for you?
I would love to know that, man.
Except the stickers, I know, that was crazy.
Oh, that's Alpha, too.
I want to circle back to that, because we were talking about that in the NBA.
We made an NBA chat that we were talking about that in the NBA chat, just the opportunity to share stuff with people.
And right now, it's not going to be the same forever.
But, yeah, I mean, I wasn't expecting to be culture shocked.
And I guess maybe I prepared myself mentally, and so I wasn't.
But I didn't want to leave.
Maybe that was the shock.
The shock was how much we've been lied to in America, right?
Like, stay here, they make it difficult for you to get your passport, you know, it's fucking six weeks unless you've already got the trip and the trip is tomorrow.
Then maybe you can get the passport immediately.
They don't make it very simple.
It's like $300 or $400 also, so they don't make it very cheap for, you know, people with regular jobs or normal people out here in the world to go out there and do it.
But once you move, once you actually travel that 15 hours, that 12 hours, 10 hours, it's like a whole different picture than what, you know, America or the news in America or even just most people in America would seem to like us to think or would have us thinking otherwise based on what's being reported.
So I just can't help but feel just – and I'm a little – you know, I get into some conspiracies too.
I mean, we're in crypto Twitter, right?
So we're in social media and Reddit and we're around all this type of stuff, so I'm not saying I don't get into a conspiracy series from here to there, theories from here and there.
But, man, I can't help but feel a little bit lied to.
I mean, just cheaper, safer cities, cleaner, nicer, women out on the streets, and I don't mean that in a weird way.
I mean, just because it's so safe.
The women comfortable to be out on the streets at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 o'clock in the morning, you don't get that here.
But, like, in California, like, people are wrapping it up sharp, 1, 2 a.m., straight from the door to the Uber, not exploring, like, don't want to be in transitory spaces.
Out there, I was running into people at 1, 2, 3, 4 o'clock in the morning getting food, a transit on the way to Ape Fest to get in line for the merch.
We're standing out there at 3, 4 o'clock in the morning, people walking by, going to get food and coffee, standing in the merch lines.
I feel lied to.
I want to go back.
I don't want to be here anymore.
That's my culture shock.
Damn, that's really interesting.
I didn't know, actually, that you have to pay for the passport, because passports are for free for us, you know.
I think you can even have more than one.
I'm not sure, 100%.
But that's really interesting, you know.
And I think, you know, if you live in America, it's, you know, it's so much different, because you can do everything.
You can go to Florida.
You can go to Utah.
You know, you can go skiing.
You can do basically everything.
You can fly to Alaska, right, for fishing, et cetera.
So it's so much different comparing to Europe, where, you know, we are a small country.
We are, like, 10 and a half or 11 million people.
So, basically, if you want to do, like, a great skiing, you have to travel, right?
So you travel to Austria.
You travel to Italy.
You travel to Switzerland.
You want to do some sea activities.
You need to go, maybe, to Croatia, et cetera.
So, basically, each of these countries has different culture.
Like, it's completely, like, different.
Like, everything's really, really different.
So, we basically have to travel.
We've been traveling since we are kids through the Europe, because you have to, right?
So, I think it's really great for many people that travel to Asia and experience it for the first time,
because if the A-Fest is in Europe, I think, guys, you will love it.
And Amsterdam, from Amsterdam, it's so close to everywhere.
You can fly to Spain, France, you know, Germany, wherever you want.
So, I believe I already talked to a few apes that are planning, if it's in Europe, they want to do, like, the Euro trip, you know.
That can be really, really interesting.
Oh, I'm in.
I'm sold for that.
I put my vote in for Amsterdam, for sure, so we can hit another country up.
That's an interesting point that you sort of touched on.
And, you know, Europe may be small in population, but all the different cultures.
And I guess we have that to an extent in America.
But I've been around to a few of the states, like I said, not a ton of them, but I've been around to at least the different regions, right?
I've been in the south, I've been in the west, I've been in the east, I've been in the middle of the country.
I live on the west coast, so I've experienced a lot of America.
I've got to say it's all kind of the same.
Like, the gas prices are going to all be the same.
We only really have, like, left or right for politics.
I mean, we've got hills, we've got snow.
But the culture, the music, all the food, like, it's all kind of, it's kind of the same.
I'm not going to lie.
I feel no, I feel absolutely no willingness or want to explore America anymore, knowing that every other, you know, country has just an entire region of actual things to explore as opposed to America where it's kind of like this cookie cutter, gentrified situation that we've only exasperated over the past 20 years or so.
So, yeah, my culture shock is really, like, I don't want to be here anymore.
I didn't have to come back.
Like, I can work remote.
I don't actually have to be here.
So, I'm really struggling being here.
Yeah, that's really interesting, man.
And also in Europe, everything is so close.
Like, you know, from Prague, London is, like, less than two hours.
You know, Paris, one hour.
Barcelona, like, two hours, you know.
So, you will love it, guys.
I really hope it's going to be in Europe and you can experience the different cultures here because you will have a great time, you know.
I'm ready.
What's the food?
What's the pastry?
What's the pastries like?
When I went out there, we had the pineapple buns.
There's dim sum is pasta, not pastries.
But we were getting – I don't even remember all the – I had a whole spread of pastries up in a hotel.
So, what do you guys got out of Europe?
What's the – what are we looking for there?
Man, like, in Paris, like, croissants and, like, Paris is – like, France in general, I think it's insane.
You know, the food and everything, it's unbelievable.
Italy also, like, Italy is also insane.
So, I think that if you have an opportunity and you can go around, like, maybe try, you know, France, Italy, I don't know, maybe Spain.
And, like, Switzerland is awesome.
I see Dario here.
I have to share that with you if you haven't heard it before.
They actually eat pasta with applesauce there.
Can you imagine?
Pasta with applesauce.
And they do it.
And they use bacon in that.
So, they have bacon, pasta, and applesauce.
Like, I never ate it before, but Dario forced me.
And, yeah, it was quite interesting.
That just sounds crazy.
Now, I'm thinking – we put gravy.
I think some people do gravy with noodles.
You're talking about applesauce?
Dario's going to have to come up here and explain himself, I think.
Applesauce?
Applesauce.
I was also surprised.
I thought he was pranking me, but everyone did that.
It was, like, a Christmas market there, you know, and everyone did that.
And they were, like, oh, I want a double applesauce on that and double bacon and cheese maybe also.
So, yeah, it's definitely not what I'm used to eat.
But, Beast, I said you're muted.
Go ahead, man.
Yeah, Dario is probably cooking it right now anyway.
So, if you have some time in between the cooking, Dario, join us on the stage.
Tell us, you know, how is the applesauce?
And, yeah, one of the, like, beautiful things during the A-Fest was, like, how well the local communities and the people who lived in Hong Kong organized that, right?
And they really made it, like, really made it welcoming that we felt, like, being at home.
And when I was thinking about that, it also, like, what that means that when, if the A-Fest is going to happen in Europe, like, we have to do the same.
So, Lost, if you're going to Prague, you know, it means that we're going to take care of the stuff, even if it's within other cities.
Because, I mean, it's a commitment now, man.
It's a commitment now, and we want to make it nice.
And I think that's also what's going to be the trend in the future, right?
Like, since the A-Fest is global.
So, I'm ready for that.
Damn, I can imagine Lost coming to Prague and, you know, you go partying and you wake up and you've got to be in Lisbon.
Like, what happened, man?
Like, I can't 100% imagine that.
I saw that before.
So, be careful, guys.
Be careful.
Lost is lost.
I got lost a little bit in Hong Kong.
I came back and I looked away from the timeline.
I was partying with these crazy Animoca people.
Jesus, they fucking party.
So, I was partying with them.
I got lost.
I look back on the timeline, look in Discord.
People are actually looking for me.
Lost is lost.
Lost is lost.
Where's lost?
I'm on vacation, motherfucker.
But I'm ready.
I can wake up in Lisbon.
Yeah, I imagine, man.
I imagine.
SG, I saw your head.
Go ahead, man.
No, it's like, I just wanted to say, because the distances between the cities are so close,
You fall asleep in, like, I don't know, Barcelona.
You wake up in, like, in Paris or something like that and you'd be like, how the hell did
I get here?
You European apes taking us throughout the entire Europe.
One day, one city.
Yeah, man, it's quick and I forgot to mention Berlin.
Like, Berlin is absolutely insane, too.
So, yeah, Germany, a lot of wild parties there, too.
So, guys, you will love it here.
And I also love that SG is in Phuket, you know, doing the second A-Fest there.
I can imagine what you guys are doing there, but I've been there a few times, too, so I kind
But, yeah, you don't have to share it here, man.
It's recorded, so be cool, be cool.
But, yeah.
Yeah, you're definitely right.
We were talking, I forgot, I didn't circle back to the NBA discussion, but we were talking
about this also, just, I think it was actually the facilitators.
I was talking to some of the people at the Dow, but we were so invited in Asia.
If we cannot recreate that in our local areas, oh, it's going to feel so bad.
And whether it's Europe, whether it's in America, Asia showed out.
The elite apes, they put on the whole show.
And, yeah, Yuga was obviously, like, the headliner.
But those local apes, if we cannot mirror, if we cannot match that hospitality in our
local regions, oh, my God, the FUD.
The FUD for me, I'm FUDing so hard, all of us.
I'm FUDing myself, because I'm in the Bay Area, I'm in California, and I know how we
get out here.
It's night and day from the hospitality we saw in Hong Kong, in Asia, in Taiwan.
So we got to shape, in California, we got to shape the fuck up and figure out how we
can make any sort of impact in this community to be so hospital or have so much hospitality.
We are planning, actually, if you're going to be in California, if you're going to be
in America, we're planning to have a white elephant event for the Bay Area.
Vera's starting to look for some locations and starting to rally some of the apes.
So if you're going to be around, definitely tap in with your local Bay Area ape.
Tap in with me, and we'll get you guys situated with where that event's going to take place
and get you into that white elephant.
So we can at least force ourselves to give some gifts.
If we can't actually be as nice and welcoming as Asia, we could at least pretend we could
do the white elephant and we can slowly work our way there.
And then the NBA discussion, Grateful, that was the other thing.
They spun up a Made by Apes conversation.
That was obviously one of the other big highlights of Ape Fest.
They had the bodega there.
They had Spicy and Illa over there kind of pointing people, directing people to the bodega.
I heard there were some issues with shipping from some of the companies, some of the different
products or projects that are creating stuff.
It's not easy.
Wasn't exactly like a long amount of notice for people to get boxes of stuff shipped and
through customs, through duties, all these different things, moving stuff around the
So one, I'm wondering what the future of that is going to look like.
And I think it's important that we're having the discussion so that you can hear us and
then take our feedback and they'll make it a reality.
But two, we're having a lot of fun, but it's early, right?
Like this is only our third Ape Fest.
I mean, I know that the apes love doing this stuff, but I just don't think it's realistic
that every year, right?
Like I don't imagine that every single year this many apes are going to be able to travel
around the country, right?
Like this many of us showing up in Asia this time, it seemed rare.
It was amazing.
It seemed great.
I would love for it to happen again.
But it's honestly hard for me to imagine all those same people, all that many people.
And maybe next time it's more.
Maybe I'm crazy.
But it seems like if you're not taking advantage of these opportunities, especially if you're building
something in this ecosystem, maybe you're not going to sell a ton of shit out of these
You're probably going to sell nothing coming out of these events.
But you cannot buy the kind of PR that comes out of these events when everybody in this
community, when half the timeline is posting your stuff, excited about your products, tagging
your company.
You can't buy that.
You just can't buy it.
So shout out to the club.
And like the bar is really high.
Like Elite Apes did such a crazy job.
Like it was really unbelievable.
So everything that happened there, it was really, you know, we are under pressure now.
If the Apes is in Europe, we really have to do a great job, you know, so everyone feels
And I also see Laura in the audience.
So yeah, she's the first actually.
She's actually the first person that got my sticker on her back.
So a big shout out to her.
I have a photo, I probably minted because it made a history, you know, now everyone's
tagging, you know, Daniel and Garga, but it all started in London.
So back in 2020, I don't know, one, two, I don't even remember, a long time ago in
So yeah, 100% agree, Borega and all these experiences, that's something that you can't
You know, you have to experience it.
You have so much fun.
Like also, I would add that a lot of Apes actually going to Miami for the art
So a lot of Apes are really crazy traveling all over the world.
So, so love that.
Hola, Laura.
What's going on?
Oh my God.
I'm so down bad.
Like I've been traveling so much.
I'm in New York now, but it's like so bad.
My, I don't know what time zone I'm leaving anymore.
And so I keep waking up at 4am and I want to order McDonald's for some reason.
I don't know why.
I never order McDonald's.
I don't, I don't.
But why when I'm here at 4am?
I want to order.
I don't know.
And so I'm fucked up and I kind of need to sleep.
I keep waking up.
Yesterday I woke up at 1am.
Like explain that.
And yeah, I don't know what to do anymore.
Laura asked me for advice about dim sum in, um, in Hong Kong.
So I sent her to McDonald's.
So maybe that's the reason, Laura.
So many people in Hong Kong told me to go to McDonald's because I mean that.
So at the beginning, I didn't have a great experience with food there.
I ended up like finding places where it was actually amazing.
Like I would really want to go back to go to those places.
Like an all you can eat wagyu.
Like, I don't know.
And there was like another place that was like Korean that had like amazing food.
But at the beginning I had very bad experiences.
Like, I don't know.
I was like, I'm here.
I want to try, you know, the local authentic food.
Don't do that in China.
Don't try the authentic.
Like, no, you don't trust me.
You don't want to do that.
Um, I ended up like trying like a soup.
Um, I don't even know how to describe it, but I, I didn't want to try it.
And people were like, try it, try it.
And then don't ask what it is.
And I was like, okay, I mean, fuck it.
And so I tried it and it didn't taste good.
And then they were like, oh yeah, well, it's pork lungs soup with almonds, like blended.
Oh, I had it too.
And I was like, bro, why would you make me taste?
I don't know.
And so, yeah, I was traumatized.
So people recommended me to go to McDonald's actually in Hong Kong.
So it's an actual food.
It's really, it's really interesting that, uh, you know, talking about food, a lot of
people told me, don't ask.
It never happened to me, you know, before, but a lot of people were like, don't ask, just,
you know, eat it.
So I was like, okay.
But we had amazing experience.
Uh, uh, you know, beast actually recommended that, uh, that place.
Yeah, I'm, I'm one of the, those people who say, Laura, that if you're somewhere, you have
to try it.
So yeah, grateful.
You can go with the story because I probably did.
The guy gave us a menu and we patiently ordered, you know, we were like, I don't know, six people,
So we, we ordered and he was like, oh, I don't like it.
Uh, you have to have a goose.
And we were like, no, no, we want to, we want to have what we ordered.
So basically he mentioned like five times that we have to have goose.
That's the only what he has.
And he brought a goose and some other stuff.
And, uh, it was really wild experience.
I never ate goose like that probably before, uh, because they, they actually like, how to
Like they, oh my God, I don't even want to say that.
Like imagine the goose head and they, they cut it like into, yeah.
They just chopped it, right?
They just chopped it all.
They chopped it.
Uh, and he forced us to eat it.
So, uh, it was, it was interesting.
It was interesting.
But it was, it was really athletic goose because there were, there was no meat at all.
For some reason, there was only the skin and the bones.
So I don't know if it was like a part of that or like, what was that?
Man, like I didn't know that crispy chicken.
I thought it's crispy, but it was bones actually.
So I ate like a half kilo of bones, uh, before I figure out that I shouldn't eat it that
So SG solely soldier, you have some alpha for us from, uh, Phuket, Thailand.
No, no, no.
I just wanted to say, right?
Did you guys try pigeon when you guys were in Hong Kong?
Oh my God.
Everyone was telling me, you have to try pigeon.
You guys have to try the pigeon bro.
Like, okay, goose, goose is great, but I personally love pigeon.
So if you guys haven't yet, well, it's another reason to come back to Hong Kong.
You know, you guys got to try pigeon.
And, and, and I also wanted to say, remember grateful, I think it was you and beast, you
guys didn't eat the abalone, the $150 one per pot at, at the, at the, at the dinner.
Yeah, we didn't eat it, right?
Yeah, you guys didn't.
So you guys got to have like two reasons to come back now.
I remember that we were saying it was too much for the bear market, like eating that
stuff for like $150 each, even though it was for free, you know, like you don't want to
get into that because you might get used to, and the bull is still not 100% back.
So I didn't want to risk it.
And also they served the pigeon, like, like the complete pigeon, right?
Like with the wings and with the, with the head, like it was like pigeon.
Did they, did they chop it up for you?
They didn't, right?
They did chop it up.
They did chop it up.
They put it down on the plate.
So there's some restaurants that chop it up for you, but there are some restaurants that
they would just give you plastic gloves and then the whole pigeon, like right in front
And then you get to like tear it with your hands, you know, pull the head out and then,
and just like, and just like eat it, you know, like, yeah, dude, that, that is an experience
that I thought you guys should have had.
Like one thing I was surprised, we had also some chicken that looked very similar, but
they always keep the head on the plate so that it's looking at you all the time, like
all dinner, basically it's staring at you.
So I was wondering whether it's like, uh, why are they doing that actually?
Whether it's, you know, like to eat it or to watch it or no, it's too, it's okay.
So, so first and foremost, there are some people who eat the head.
Um, yeah, but, uh, I think it's also for those who don't, like I personally don't, uh, it's
just to like show you that, uh, uh, you got the entire bird, you know what I mean?
Like they can't, they can't replicate kids.
They can't like, uh, cheat you off a certain part.
So if you order a whole bird, you get the whole bird.
So you get it all in, got it.
Damn, Laura, go ahead.
Yeah, I was going to comment on the head part.
Like, so I went to a busy dinner and they gave us like a lot of different things and
It was interesting.
I don't know how, well, whatever.
But then they put like fish, right.
And they put the head of the fish, like it was like a round table.
And then it had like the thing where you could like just move it around so everyone could
reach everything.
You know what I mean?
Like, I don't know how to call that, but anyway.
So they put the head of each fish that they put on that table, on that round thing, looking
straight at us and either stayed there until even after dessert.
And I was like, why?
Why do I have to look at this fish?
It's staring at me with his mouth open, like while I'm having a cookie.
I don't understand.
Why do they do that?
I don't get it.
I don't know.
I'm not sure if I'm probably not the right person to answer this.
Like, I would think about maybe like building easier relationship with it over dinner, you
know, or I don't know.
Also the table, right, that you spin around.
That's amazing feature because you basically can steal food from other people.
I really enjoyed it.
It was actually our first dinner with Beast, right?
When we are going around.
So, yeah, it was very interesting.
It was very interesting.
I think we, did we have some dim sum actually, Beast?
Man, I think we actually didn't.
Although, like all the spaces before, we were like, we have to go to Hong Kong and we're
going to be eating only dim sums.
Like every single day, all day, all the dim sums, we're going to make a tour, we're going
to do hiking with dim sums.
And I think we eventually actually didn't have any.
But I was really thinking about like if the A-Face is in Europe, like, you know, imagine
that Pulp Fiction scene, like they are driving the car and talking like, you know, John Travolta
talking to El Samoa Jackson about the culture differences, like about French fries and that
they use mayonnaise instead of ketchup.
Like I 100% can imagine, you know, lost driving a Cadillac there and talking to me about a quarter
pounder with cheese.
I love that, man.
Yeah, I had McDonald's.
I didn't have it when I was in the city because it felt just like wrong.
I didn't have it in any of the actual cities, but I had it in the airport on my way to Taipei.
Yeah, I got a Happy Meal.
I had to get the whole experiments and the bun was better.
They had the brioche bun.
The mayonnaise tasted a little bit different.
It tasted a little bit fresher.
They did put mayonnaise on my breakfast sandwich, which we don't normally do.
So yeah, you're hitting all the right notes for McDonald's, it sounds like.
For McDonald's.
Yeah, that's the alpha.
That's the alpha for Hong Kong.
But yeah, the food was interesting.
You know, I'm really happy that we did the tour with Subvert because he had a night actually
and he showed us actually what Laura mentioned with like the pork lungs and all that stuff.
It was really, really interesting.
And it was great because he explained like what it is about, you know, how they prepare the
food and we had a great time there actually.
Yeah, I loved it there.
Oh my bad.
Did you guys go to a night market?
It was the other day, I think.
The next day.
Laura, you wanted to add something.
I think you wanted to compare the McDonald's, right?
In Hong Kong and the US now?
No, no, no, no.
I was just going to say that like I also always like to try like different things and understand
like different cultures and stuff.
And I think that, you know, it's just like the way we eat is so like so different, right?
Like they eat like some things that are like just so weird for us.
Like we are not used to it.
So it like blows our mind.
But for them, it's like normal.
And so they get to appreciate like the taste more and stuff.
Like, for example, there was like a snake soup as well that I like didn't want to try.
People were like, oh, it's very good.
But I just it's just too weird for me because I'm my my palate is not used to it.
But in Spain, for example, we have also like weird things that we like it.
And then some people are like, you know, why would you eat?
What is the weirdest thing in Spain to eat, actually?
Well, I think for some people it's weird.
Like, for example, we have a thing that's called morcilla and it's basically pork blood
with rice.
And then you put like the skin from the stomach around the blood with the rice.
And it's actually very good, to be honest.
But it is super weird for some people.
Because it's like you're not used to it.
So I think that's why like some people were like, wow, what is this?
But every single other thing that I tried that I'm like not too weird out from like it was
so good, like the egg tarts and the dumplings and everything.
It was amazing.
Yeah, this is really interesting how our, you know, taste buds are like they, you know,
they are influenced by our childhood, probably what we ate there, you know, what we are used
to because a lot of stuff in Hong Kong actually look, I would say a little bit weird, but it
tasted really, really good.
So probably because we're not used to that.
I also did a Cool Cats dinner with Subvert and it was so crazy good.
It was unbelievable.
By the way, that was the first sponsored dinner by Cool Cats, you know, so it has a historical
But yeah, it was really interesting.
I wish I had more time before I, you know, Ape Fest started because I was so tired after
I wanted to explore the city next two days, but I just couldn't.
I just hopped on the plane and flew to Bali to like three days to recover.
And yeah, now I'm living a Bali life, which is not bad at all, guys.
It's not bad at all.
I'm checking also the most exotic food that we eat in Europe.
Apparently the first one in the UK, the black pudding.
Do you guys like that black pudding?
There's also the snails in France, France, those frog legs, right?
That's kind of weird also for me.
There is the Leberkäse in Austria.
I think we have also like a bunch of like a little weird stuff, right?
That lost will be like, I love everything here, guys.
You know, you got to bring some stuff, man.
You need to freeze it and bring it back to America, man.
You have to educate there.
I'm not bringing nothing back.
They actually, I mean, I traveled all around Asia.
No problem.
Right past custom, right past.
I think I actually took too much alcohol in Taiwan.
I think I took more than I was supposed to.
No problem.
No problem.
People at duties.
No problem.
Came right home.
They pulled me over, stripped out all my luggage, dumped it all out on the counter.
What were you doing?
Where are you from?
Give me your phone.
I'm not bringing no food back, but I'll eat it.
I'll eat it out there.
The black pudding sounds cool.
I've already had the snails, frog legs.
It's cool.
What else you got?
You got anything?
I'm not bringing it home.
I'll tell you that much.
But what else you got?
There is a lot of weird pork stuff in Prague, in the Czech Republic's cuisine also.
I think in German cuisine also.
And something with that blad that Laura mentioned, it's also, right, that you have the soup from
like a pig's blad or something.
I don't know how it's called, but people actually also eat it here.
Or not here.
I'm in Bali now.
But they eat it in Prague.
Now they eat nasi goreng, you know, and stuff like that, which is also not bad.
But yeah, I also love that many people actually stayed in Asia, you know, and travel around
like you did last.
Laura, did you stay a few days or you travel back to Dubai?
So I went there the 29th and then stayed until the 6th.
So I stayed like a week and I had a lot of fun.
And then I went to Dubai, stayed like a few days and then came to New York, which I'm regretting
kind of like I should have waited a little bit more.
But yeah, I don't know.
I just, everything is super cool there.
Are you guys traveling to Miami for the Art Basel?
I don't know who you guys are.
Is this me or is it the whole space?
It's you and Lost.
I'm going to Basel.
Because you are the only one in the U.S. right now on stage.
Are you going to Basel?
I don't know.
Lost, are you going to Miami?
I really don't know.
I'm pretty sure we're going to send some products out from the Mr. Robot brand.
But, so we'll be there in spirit.
But I don't know if I'm, I don't know if I can take another trip.
The Dow might fire me if I have too much more fun.
I don't know.
Yeah, that makes sense, man.
Maybe you don't go, you know.
Laura can experience it and enjoy it for you there.
But last year, Art Basel was insane.
It was a great event.
I really enjoyed it.
But it's probably too much traveling, too much hustle from Asia, you know.
So, I'll probably skip.
But, you know, I don't know what's the next event for us, actually.
You know, probably NFT Paris in February, March.
And I don't know what else.
Yeah, I'm still thinking about the Art Basel.
But it's also, it's all the fucking jet lag that if you go from Asia to Miami, is that like 24 hours difference or something crazy?
So, it's already in like two weeks, right?
So, you go all over again?
And also, I did something crazy.
I stopped, like, to visit friends in between.
So, I just, like, I don't know.
It's so bad.
And the worst part is, so, before Hong Kong, like, not that apart.
I went to Paris.
Then I came back to Dubai.
Then I went to Hong Kong.
Then I stopped.
Like, I went to London, Bermuda, then New York.
Like, but all of this in, like, just two weeks or something.
So, it's, like, not recommended at all.
I'm exhausted.
My brain is dead.
I, like, I forgot how to speak to people.
They are like, oh, how are you doing?
And I'm like, I don't know.
I'm just trying to stay alive, I guess.
And, yeah, and I just ordered Popeyes.
It's 4 a.m., so I'm a little bit embarrassed.
But it's fine.
Yeah, I think it's 100% fine, you know.
Your body lives in different time zones anyway, so it's not 3 a.m. for you.
And there's actually an interesting app.
I think it's called Time Shifter or something like that.
Basically, you fill your location where you're going and it slowly prepares your body for the time zone.
So, basically, you start living through the night and sleep through the day or something like that.
I don't know.
But it really works if you have time to actually start using it if you have a few days.
But, yeah, jet lag is real.
And, yeah, I'm 100% ready to go to winter, to Europe.
It sounds like a great plan.
Really excited about it, yeah.
You don't sound really convincing, but I didn't take it.
Yeah, I definitely, probably, I don't know.
I'm not going to comment here, but it's a similar feeling like looking at my ape with orange background.
I feel like that about the trip back to the winter.
But, yeah, I saw many people traveling to Japan also that look amazing.
I really wish I went there, too.
But, yeah, like, Ape Fest was an absolutely wild experience, guys.
It's something, if you're thinking about going for the other one,
and if it's close to you, like, 100% go because the energy, vibes, and everything was...
I never experienced anything like that, probably.
Like, such a crazy week.
Yeah, it was so good, man.
It's also, you know, like, fucking impressive that, really, wherever you go,
you can meet someone that you know or that you can have chat with on the same topic.
Like, it was two days ago, I went to a local cafe, and there was a guy sitting,
and he had an artifact jersey.
And I was like, holy shit, does he really have it?
So, there were, like, other four people.
Of course, like, I didn't care.
I went directly to interrupt the conversation, say, hey, what's up, bro?
And then we started chatting.
He, you know, like, we realized, obviously, we have the same passion.
We were talking about Ape Fest.
We were talking about, like, what to create within the Web3.
He introduced me even to the local communities,
and it's through just these, like, fucking JPEGs.
So, I'm always kind of impressed, you know,
even though we have these jet lags and stuff,
it's so nice that, like, wherever you go,
you can meet someone and you have friends.
Yeah, man.
And Asia is so ahead.
Like, I went to the local marketplace,
and they actually had hats, like the straw hats, you know.
You know how a straw hat actually looks like.
And the hats, they had a pocket,
and that was a pocket for Ledger.
So, it's absolutely crazy that they already have it here,
you know, after Ledger introduced it today.
So, yeah, interesting, interesting.
I don't know if you're serious now or if they really had it.
Obviously, I saw Atarek's tweet also, like,
please don't make it as a fashion brand.
We want to keep the NFT safe.
We don't want to show everyone, you know,
that we have Ledger on the neck.
But, yeah, it's a different topic.
But, guys, we will slowly wrap up and go to the beach, you know,
to enjoy the last waves here in Bali.
It was an interesting trip.
I 100% recommend, you know, travel more if you can,
especially if you're young,
because it's so much easier.
You know, I'm in a, how old am I actually?
I don't know, 60s or something like that.
And it gets harder, you know.
So, travel, because exploring different cultures is 100% worth it,
you know, and meeting local people is the way,
especially in Web3, you know,
talking to the friends that you made along the way.
Absolutely love that, you know.
So, Hong Kong was definitely trip of my life.
It was wild.
It was crazy.
It took me, like, one week to recover.
So, really proud of you, Laura,
that you travel to another country,
like, or maybe more, like, five other countries.
Absolutely love that.
And, yeah, guys, anything else that you would like to share, you know,
any alpha from the traveling, anything that, I don't know, whatever.
Lost, go ahead, man.
If you had anything, I don't know, whatever.
What do I got?
What do I got?
I saw Bored API Club just posted another video,
so make sure you guys are paying attention to those cameras out there
whenever they're at these events,
if you want to make it into the social media.
I do have a, we have our proposal up this week.
I feel like it's my job to highlight all the other people working,
so sometimes I forget to highlight myself and my own team.
But we do have ApeCom's proposal up at zero cost.
I want to bring more conversations about the DAO,
about what the community's building, to a bigger stage.
So that's what the ApeCom's proposal is.
If anybody has questions about that, happy to answer.
We're also going to have another stage up on Monday,
talking with all of the AIP authors who have ideas up for this week,
including ourselves, as we do and have done every Monday for over a year now.
So it's a hard balance talking about the DAO and all the fun stuff,
but there is a whole community of people that don't just own apes,
but just own one ApeCoin that are building some pretty cool stuff at the DAO.
And if you're not paying attention,
some of that stuff just tends to wind up on the timeline
and hit you in the face sometimes.
So it's where I spend a lot of my time
and happy to bring some of that information out into the public,
just like we were talking about earlier.
So we're looking at staking changes.
We're looking at ApeChain.
We're looking at election season right now.
So if you guys are interested in the ApeCoin DAO
or have any potential interest in the ApeCoin DAO,
definitely get over there.
Now's the time to get involved.
Now's the time to start contributing.
There's two roles that are not compensated
that'll give you extremely high visibility
and a lot of responsibility.
The ecosystem, those are the steward roles.
And then we have the special counsel role.
They cut the pay in half.
So if you were thinking,
oh, they pay too much.
It's too much visibility.
I'm scared to be in that position.
I don't want to take all that money from the community.
Well, it's half as much now.
So maybe that's a positive.
Maybe that'll attract some people
who didn't want to extract so much from the treasury.
Maybe some of those people will be interested in applying.
If that's you, you're going to tell Sunday.
If you have any questions, definitely hit me up.
But that's my contractual obligation
to make sure people are being aware
and staying informed and participating in the DAO.
But it is fun.
The people there care.
People are passionate, just like in the Ape Club.
So yeah, that's my final shill of the DAO.
But man, we're busy over there.
We're passionate.
We care about people.
So show up.
Let's go, man.
And thank you so much for sharing.
A lot of stuff is happening in ApeCoin DAO this week
and the next one.
So definitely, guys, check it out.
It's 100% worth it.
And yeah, thank you so much, Los, for joining us today.
It was amazing to meet you in Hong Kong.
It was so much fun, man.
Like we need to do some crazy video from the next one,
you know, like fixing my ape.
I will try to fix yours and we'll see what's going to happen.
Like we can do like, you remember, guys,
those celebrated death matches, right?
So we can do some shit like that, you know,
like orange versus aquamarine versus purple versus...
Laura, what is your background color, actually?
Background color.
You know, we have a fight here of the background colors.
So yours is...
Which one is my favorite?
Yeah, yeah.
Maybe that's the better question even.
Which one is your favorite?
And why is it aquamarine?
You don't have to rush on that answer, Laura.
You can like think first about that, you know,
because it's a big deal.
I mean, it's not just to throw something into the air.
I'm open to receiving offers like on DMs.
So let me know and I'll choose according to that.
I'm sending you Domino's pizza right now.
No, not right now.
Do it tomorrow at 4 a.m.
I already ordered something today.
I'm sending feet pics.
We got feet pics on deck.
Not my feet pics.
Other feet pics.
We got leftover feet pics.
My favorite background is orange.
Let's fucking go.
Thank you, Lost.
You made it easier.
Very grateful.
Thank you so much, Laura.
Thank you for joining.
It was great.
Enjoyed it.
SG Solid Soldier, how you doing, man?
Doing good.
I just wanted to say,
I think aquamarine is great.
But you know what?
A blue ape would look nicer on that background.
And your ape looks good in blue.
Your ape looks good in blue.
Love it, man.
And also, thank you so much for joining.
Enjoy Thailand.
I think it can be really wild.
So be careful.
You know, don't do crazy stuff.
I know you, man.
I know you.
No crazy stuff.
No crazy stuff.
I'm pulling Kevin back.
I'm pulling Kevin back.
And have fun.
Thank you so much for joining, man.
Laura, any final words that you would like to share?
You know, except the background colors.
I think we over that a little bit here right now.
But no, just like, honestly, like, really, even if it's exhausting and whatever, but
like, really, it's worth it to travel and meet everyone from the community and stuff.
Like, I've traveled a lot.
And even when I was like, in Italy this summer with my mom, I connected with an ape there.
We didn't end up meeting because I ended up like, I couldn't do it.
But, you know, you can really just meet people everywhere you go to, like, just with your
family, with your friends, da, da, da.
Like, you're always going to have local friends from the community.
And that's like, I don't know.
For me, it's what is, like, worth the more being here is just like the connections you
100% alpha.
It's so much different to actually meet people IRL compared to, like, DMs and spaces.
Like, I think spaces are the closest thing to meeting people IRL.
But still, IRL is the best, you know.
And Ila actually tweeted, imagine going to a foreign country thousands of miles away to
meet up with thousands of friends you made on the internet and make memories that last
a lifetime.
And that's actually what happened to us.
And it was absolutely wild.
So, thank you, everyone.
Who could we actually meet there?
It was a pleasure to meet all of you.
It was amazing to meet you lost.
You know, it was great to see how to fix my ape.
You know, even it didn't last.
You know, the fix wasn't permanent.
But you tried at least, you know.
And try is more than nothing.
So, thank you so much, man.
And yeah, we had a blast.
Thank you so much, guy, for listening.
Especially if you are in Europe.
But you're just starting your Saturday.
So, have a great day.
Enjoy the cold.
If you are in the, I don't know.
Probably it's still warm in Spain.
But the other parts of Europe will be cold.
And yeah, Beast, do you want to add anything?
Man, I just want to add that I will miss this co-working space.
Because I'm really, I feel like from that movie, what's that?
The Bolt of the Rocks or what's that?
That I'm locked in the, like, one meeting room in the local co-work.
It looks like a bunker.
I think it sounds like that.
I just, like, you guys said it all.
Like, it was fucking amazing to see you in Hong Kong.
It's going to be amazing to see you soon at all these other events.
And Laura, you said it right.
I mean, if you guys can travel, meet people.
Because, you know, I really feel it like these are the special times when we are still, like, a small group of people.
And it's easier to make the connections.
And it's 100% worth it.
So, let's fucking go.
Thank you, guys.
Let's fucking go, bro.
It sounds more like you are in a cave somewhere.
But, okay.
We can also describe it this way.
I'll trust you, bro.
I'll trust you, bro.
Have a great weekend, guys.
You know, if you're traveling, safe travels.
Hope to see you somewhere else around the world.
We're going to have epic times.
So, do it.
If you can't travel, travel.
And, yeah.
This was Grateful Show 218.
Yeah, and talking about the memories, guys.
Let's a little bit bump it here.
Yeah, yeah.
It has to be amazing for Gainsweld and Laura, like, 3 a.m. in the morning, listening to this crazy shit.
Those would be the best memories I just want to let it go for the night That would be the best therapy for me
All the crazy shit I did tonight Those would be the best memories
I just want to let it go for the night That would be the best therapy for me
Thank you so much, guys, for listening Next week, we are back on the traditional schedule
6 p.m. CET, noon EST, and 9 a.m. PST So, see you next week.
Let's fucking go See you next week, guys.
Let's fucking go
