Just real quick, a question.
Akimoto, what team are you with again?
I'm not on a specific team.
I just pressed the request to speak because I thought it would be an open discussion.
I did launch a metaverse a couple of years ago, but I can go down if this is strictly for projects.
No, no, no. It's no problem. We'd like to get your input here a little bit later on.
We do have some teams that we have that are going to be coming up, but yeah, we'll get you up. No problem.
And do we have Tudor and Patrick there behind Earthlings and Headstarter?
All right, well, we are waiting on a few more panelists,
but I'd like to get started here real quick.
We've got, I think, a quorum.
So welcome back to another Hedera ecosystem Twitter space brought to you by the HBAR Foundation.
I'm Brandon, and I'll be your host.
Today we're going to be talking about the Hedera gaming ecosystem with representatives from Reality Plus,
Legends of the Past, Earthlings, Karataka, Astro Nova, Kabila, and Headstarter.
Anyone from the panel is welcome to jump in at any time, or you can raise your hand if you have something you want to add,
We also welcome audience participation, as I was mentioning before.
So if anyone wants to join the conversation, feel free to request to be a speaker, and I'll try to bring you up.
But I want to go ahead and get started right off the bat.
So we'll start off with Patrick from Earthlings.
My oldest daughter is already a massive fan of Earthlings.
I just want to go around the horn here and just get updates on what you guys are building.
So it's pretty impressive that she's already a huge fan just off of the art that you guys have already put out.
And it sounds like you're going to be able to actually interact a little bit more here coming up.
So what do you have to pass on on the development of your gaming metaverse?
Oh, that's a question that entails a lot, actually, always, because there's so much going on.
And every time I think I'm finishing up something, one of my developers goes with something new and say,
ah, we need to add this, and I have to scroll it a little bit again.
But I showed you already, by the way, so you can vouch for me that, yes, we are finishing some stuff now.
Well, the mini game, which I've sent you as well already, but very low beta version, it's almost finished.
We're just finalizing some fun cartoons, no, no, animations for the intro page.
Yes, and I'm a bit perfect on things.
I don't mind if I send it to the community for beta testing if there are still some things missing.
But the main thing needs to look very good, and the intro page, it was a mess, to my opinion.
So that's something that we're working on any day now, depending on some of my team members delivering me my last items.
And then now we will make a behind-the-scenes clip, I will make that, and then invite some community members to start testing the run.
And after that, we will go and continue building the multiplayer, because that's going to be the real fun game.
We have some new team members as well.
And one of these team members is a texture artist.
And, man, sometimes you find these people, and they are amazing with what they do, and then they surprise you even more.
Because he's not just a texture artist, but he's a technical artist.
I'm not telling him that, because then he's going to ask for a raise.
But he's a technical artist as well.
So what he's doing now is correcting a lot of stuff.
And that's great, of course.
But in the process, yeah, it stores a little bit.
But that's okay, because I'd rather make things perfect.
But he's doing more on the technical side.
I'm having our sketch artist making new scenes as well, because I found a hidden talent in his fantasy as well.
AI ain't got nothing on this guy.
So that's amazing, the talent that he has.
He's the same guy who did the comic book as well, that we also threw out just a few days ago,
and even sent some real copies to some people.
So yeah, a lot is happening.
Finishing the new cinematic trailer as well.
We had a little bad luck with, I said that in the Kabila space as well, with Unreal Engine corrupting our map.
And of course, Basile was there to laugh at me, because he's building in Unity.
So we had some good fun in the Kabila space there.
But we still love Unreal Engine.
So we had to upgrade everything and had to redo some work on the map.
So yeah, lots is going on.
Still buildings, building an amazing gameplay.
If you have told me that you would have had this question, I would probably have a longer list,
because there's so much going on behind the scenes.
And yeah, anytime now, we will show all these things, of course, to the community as well.
So I hope that answers your question.
I don't know if I missed anything.
Well, Patrick, that's one of the things that I think people are missing in this space,
is it takes a long time for these games to be developed and actually come to market.
But we know about all of you guys building.
But you've done a lot to stay engaged with the community.
You do your own Twitter spaces.
You have your NFTs that are out there that are building a pretty big community in themselves.
Why did you want to launch this minigame?
And what is it going to look like for users?
Yeah, that's a good question.
Very good question, by the way.
So we started minigames, and we now are calling them add-on games,
because minigames are sometimes that can give a feeling of, well,
actually what we wanted to start with, of a sidekick, fun, simple game
that you can build in a week or something,
because we wanted to build a fun game for the community for more engagement.
But while building, we figured after a month or so
that people will probably judge us on our skills of building these games as well.
So then we decided we need to ramp up a bit more.
So the look and feel will be the same as Earthlings game.
But we did decide on building a multiplayer on top of what we have now.
So yes, this will be a very fun community game.
But the extended version will be more.
But the thing is, we are building a multi-year project, of course.
And we don't want our NFT collection sitting still there doing nothing.
It would be great if you could already use them with these add-on games.
But another advantage of these games is that when we finish them to the level
that they are really, well, complete and everyone can play them,
we can also release them on Steam or the Epic Store.
We know that Epic Store is already open for blockchain gaming as well.
But this way we can also, because they will be free to play as well,
they will also attract more attention to our main game being Earthlingsland
so that we widen the audience.
But also, at the same time, we will attract more mobile gamers as well
because that is a very big market.
I know that Basile is aiming for that market.
And that's a smart move, of course, because the mobile market is growing rapidly still,
the whole gaming market, of course.
But by adding already these add-on games,
we are getting more attention from the mobile market,
but also from the gaming industry that is already happening now towards Earthlings.
So we will be adding more and more of these games as we finish one after the other.
And they don't have to take years,
but it's more like half a year or plus minus a couple of months.
And we can even decide to do, indeed, if we can find some super cool concepts,
even smaller games that you would really call mini games.
Because let's be honest, you see these...
My kids are playing with these games that you can really make in a week,
but they are so addictive.
And you see so many people and so many downloads for these games.
So, yeah, that might be something that we might consider doing,
just adding more games for fun to get more exposure as well,
but also to show that, yes, there are free-to-play games, completely free-to-play,
also from the Web3 space, because that is something that we like to do as well.
Thank you, Patrick. Good stuff.
So I'm looking forward to it, for sure.
So one of the things that I love how our gaming ecosystem,
everybody's doing something that's really unique.
Everybody's doing something that's different.
I know that both Karataka, they're doing something that enhances a sport in our industry.
Another team that's doing that is Reality Plus.
And Reality Plus is the team that's responsible for the official FIFA game, Own the Zone.
And Tony, can you come up real quick and just give us an update
as to what Reality Plus is working on?
Great. Excellent. Thank you very much.
Yeah, so my name's Tony Pierce.
I'm the co-founder of Reality Plus.
If you're not familiar with Reality Plus,
we've been around for, well, since 2017, really.
So in terms of the Web3 space, right from the beginning.
And I came from the video games market.
And when I looked at the blockchain and what it could do with regards to tokenizing in-game items
and offering them as rare assets and tradable assets, that to me was an eye-opener.
So we really doubled down back then.
And if I fast forward now six years, we're a pretty big Web3 company in Europe.
We now work with some huge worldwide brands.
We're the exclusive partner with the BBC on all things Web3 at the moment.
So we're creating a number of different projects for them.
One is a Doctor Who trading card game.
That game comes out in about three weeks' time as a public beta
and fully launches next April in time with the new Doctor Who series.
So we're kind of following the BBC beats on that.
The game itself is a mobile and PC game.
And on mobile, it's one of the first games that Apple have approved that integrates NFTs inside it.
So if you download the game, it's a traditional trading card game, a bit like NFL Rivals if you played that,
It's very fast, very quick.
And you buy an in-app purchase and you get the cards.
And then if you connect your account to our website, you create a wallet.
And we mirror all the cards that you bought on the App Store as NFTs.
And then you could trade them on our website.
And we already have a live marketplace.
And people are buying and selling cards today, even though the game's not out.
We released some cards earlier this year.
And in fact, we've now minted nearly 2 million cards.
So it's pretty amazing what's happening in terms of the community around trading these cards already.
So the way that it works, if you connect your account on the website,
if you buy an in-app purchase, we then mirror that card.
You can trade it on our marketplace.
And if you sell one, it disappears off your phone.
And if you buy one, it appears on your phone.
And that's been approved by Apple, which is really good news.
We're also working with the BBC on creating some metaverse experiences
with about a dozen of their big brands.
So we're working with the Sandbox.
We launch in Q1 next year when they launch officially.
And basically, think of this as a BBC world.
So when you walk past with your avatar, you walk in.
And, you know, top left is a Top Gear area where you can race cars.
There's even an EastEnders pub where you can go in and meet your mates.
There's a Planet Earth area where you see animals walking around.
There's a Doctor Who area as well.
So it's all the key IP that the BBC have.
We're creating a sort of mini theme park that you can engage with, which is pretty fun.
And you can buy NFTs inside that as well.
And then we work with FIFA.
So FIFA was a pretty cool prediction game that we launched for the Women's World Cup in the summer.
And the idea behind that was we worked with FIFA and integrated live football data from the matches in real time.
So if you were watching a match and you had your iPad or your phone open, you could dial in to own the zone and you could predict what was going to happen.
So you can predict, you know, is there going to be a goal at this certain time?
Is there going to be a red card?
Is there going to be a throw in?
And you won points against those and the winner at the end won NFTs, won exclusive World Cup official collectible NFTs and also real world prizes.
And, you know, we got some amazing figures on that.
You know, we got average engagement of, you know, 22 minutes per game.
Australia was one of our biggest markets.
You know, we had over 21 million social posts that reached 21 million people.
You know, some pretty big stats, but it was just for the tournament.
So obviously it stopped straight after that.
And now we have it for the next year or so into other FIFA tournaments.
So that's quite exciting.
We work with Hedera on that, which is pro cycling.
So if you go to road code or Google that, you can get NFTs of pro cycling teams like Tour de France, of the riders and of the teams themselves.
And we work as we continue.
We have a lot of new IP, which we're announcing next year.
And, you know, it's very exciting and love working with Hedera.
I mean, you guys are very busy.
The one thing I can say to the audience or anybody who might be listening to this recording, after the fact, go try this stuff out.
Use these games because they can be really engaging and they're easy to use.
I do want to go to a question from the community.
Appet, if you want to go ahead and ask your question or make your comment.
How are you guys doing, everybody?
I'm just trying to get an update, you know, on the status.
It's like, you know, crypto has been pumping lately and, you know, HBAR has been going up, too.
So I'm trying to get a, you know, get a little sense on what's causing the crypto, you know, market to go up, especially the how, you know, what's going on in the world right now.
We're going to focus on the Hedera gaming ecosystem today.
Of course, HBAR is used as the fuel.
But just as a little aside, I think most of the excitement in the crypto space is around the potential for a Bitcoin ETF, a spot market ETF, which is likely coming.
So just to get back on track, to get back on to some of these gaming teams we have, I'm going to go to Basel with Legends of the Past.
Because you've had a successful mint of your first character and some of your recent posts, it sounds like you're pretty much hitting on all cylinders here.
Can you give us an update on where you guys are with the development of your game?
So as Patrick was saying at the beginning of the space, well, indeed, building good quality, well, very good quality video games and an engaging gameplay that lasts for years takes a lot of time, effort and money.
We are going in the right direction.
So I'd like to answer where we are right now in two categories.
First, from a project point of view.
And second one, from the utility to our NFT community.
Because that's where we are spending all of our investment in building the games.
Right now, we have a very good demo of the game.
It starts to look very good.
We are actually doing some demo of the gameplay to investors, to gaming venture capital, who are interested by our game based on the theme, the IP, the quality of our team, our previous hits in the mobile gaming industry.
And all of those together, we are attracting a lot of interest.
And so we are completing, you know, this demo.
But it starts to look good.
So I'm very, very happy with where we are right now.
The role is still long ahead of us, but we are getting there.
So I'm very happy with the project within development.
We have a new, very talented game designer who's been going above and beyond in implementing some, because he's also doing some programming as well.
So updating, you know, alongside with our programmers.
Anyway, project is going very well.
So I'm very happy about that.
Second part of answering is delivering utility to our NFT community.
Because as Patrick was saying, while we are building, because it takes time to create something that is very polished and can attract a larger gents on our game.
While we are building, we are also committed to delivering ongoing utility to our community.
So basically, there are two things, several things that we are delivering and we are preparing to deliver to our community.
First, as I said earlier, is revealing the gameplay.
Right now about, like we are completing, you know, the demo to our private investors.
And so right now we are preparing how we can reveal the gameplay in a unique approach.
How we will showcase the gameplay of LOP.
How will players understand how to do the controls and the overall product that is currently being built.
So right now we are preparing this reveal to our community.
So first, we are utility to our holders.
Second utility, we are also building stuff attached to the game.
So first, people that have purchased our Clio NFT, the main character of the game, Clio.
So right now we are on the verge of completing the Clio committee website.
So very soon, people, our holders, will be able to enter their Clio committee website, their voting platform, which all of the smart contracts have recently been carefully audited by experts from Swell Labs.
So very soon they'll be able to enter and participate in the first decisions within the committee.
So people will enter the committee very soon.
That's where they will discover some reveal of the gameplay, but also have the first governance decision.
Second thing that we're also doing and delivering to our community while we build is, recently we had an idea, and it's almost there.
People will soon be able to taste, you know, the confrontation and all the gameplay that occurs in the Legend Arena on Discord.
Basically, I'm sure many of you are familiar with the Rumble Royale, you know, Discord board, which is, well, okay and used everywhere.
But we are a gaming studio.
So we are building a better and funnier and more engaging version of this Rumble Royale Discord board.
So basically, people who have our NFT will soon be able to play and discover the theme of Legend of the Past, of legends battling against other legends, and they will be able to do some bets.
We are giving them some coins.
They are betting on the legends that they are supporting, and based on their bets and their decisions, they will earn some rewards.
So that's the second utility that we are on the verge of delivering to our community.
And the last one is also about education.
We are completing and we post like five videos of a series of YouTube videos about tokenomics and how Web3 games are rewarding their players with the token.
Because I think right now, many investors, I mean like venture capital and like traditional funds that invested their own money in Web3 games, most of them knows right now what is not working.
And I feel that right now still the overall community, retail investors, may not have understood the errors and what was not working in the play-to-own, play-and-own Web3 gaming space.
So right now, we are doing some videos.
We released one about Axie Infinity.
We did another one about Titan Arena.
And right now, we are presenting our solution, how our game, Legion of the Past, is, you know, rewarding players with a token that you can trade it against any other fiat currency.
So you can make money with our game.
But how we are financing the rewards.
Where does the money come from?
I like to say that it's not magical.
Money doesn't grow on trees.
So we are explaining it carefully in small 30-second videos so that players, like our communities and everyone in the space understand, yeah, what is the difficulty about Web3 gaming and how people try to think about being a model that is sustainable.
Because most of the Web3 games that were live last year or two years ago, most of them died, not because, but mostly, sometimes because of poor gameplay and not enough gaming engagement.
But more importantly, also because they were not, you know, like financing the rewards.
And so, like, everybody was, like, selling the tokens, which would lead to a price drop and people would leave the overall space.
Project, we are going very well.
We are showing it to investors.
We are preparing it, the result, to our gameplay community.
And while we build and while we are preparing all of this, we are preparing also new utility activities to our members.
So they see that while we grow, while we build, we are already putting in place, you know, the pillars of Legend of the Past on Hedera.
And they are entering it, you know, right now.
If you have any questions regarding what we are building, we'd love to answer.
I don't have any questions, but I do have a disclaimer.
Remember, I am part of the Clio committee, so I'm looking forward to that.
Education is a huge part of this.
I mean, it's a completely new way of doing gaming.
I think it is going to be really engaging.
And the fact that you're focusing on that education piece is really important.
So you're a combat kind of game.
We have another team from a karate combat themed game.
And I'm a huge fan of all things karate combat.
So what's the latest with your game, guys?
Thanks, Brandon, for having us.
Well, I guess, you know, we've had our questing game out for about a month and a bit now.
And that has been, you know, if you have a karateka with certain traits, you can use that to complete the criteria of the quest and then win prizes,
which, you know, range from things like card packs, which contain gear that can be equipped to your karateka to upgrade their stats for our future live game and PvP battle game or things like other card packs.
So you can, you know, try your luck and see if you can get any better, more rare gear.
As of this weekend, though, we actually just launched our newest form of quests, which include the actual gear.
So no longer do you need to have a specific karateka to complete a quest.
But if you have specific types of gear that you've been winning or maybe you've been picking up on the secondary market or making trades with other people in our discord or other players,
you can actually use that gear to now complete the criteria for those quests as well.
So our community has been pretty, pretty happy with that because a lot of people have been collecting different types of gear.
They've been wondering when they're going to be able to utilize that gear.
Aside from just equipping it to their karateka right now, which more than anything is just for for the looks and the customization of your karateka, which don't get me wrong.
Some of them look pretty awesome with the gear equipped, but the utility utility wasn't there just yet.
And people were expecting the utility to come for the live fantasy game, which is going to be released, I believe, in early Q1 of next year or potentially late Q4 this year.
Don't quote me on either of those.
We haven't set an official date just yet.
But yeah, the gear quests are something that's been pretty popular in our discord and our community so far.
So that's the major update on our end.
Other than that, the team is extremely busy, heads down, working to get this live fantasy game to the market.
So yeah, happy to share all of that with you guys.
We are actually going to have a team AMA next Monday to share a couple more updates for you as well.
I think one of the things that's good about being themed around karate combat is they're up only gaming.
It's just picking who the fighter you think is going to win and you have the potential to get additional tokens.
If you win, it's just good all around consumer engagement.
But it's kind of like dipping your toe into Web3 Gaming, don't you think?
So I think that's a good way to get you guys involved.
I mean, what they're doing with up only gaming in the league has been pretty amazing so far.
Everything from the actual events that they've been putting on to the community that they're building, you know, within within their discord on Twitter, across all their socials.
And, you know, we're seeing people from their discord and community that have slowly poured into ours, taking interest in, you know, hey, what are you guys building?
You know, you've got this this fantasy sports game related to the league.
You know, how do we get involved?
Is there anything to do with Karate Token?
And, you know, I believe that we're part of what we're doing is sponsoring the up only gaming pool for the next event or maybe the December event.
So there is a lot of cross collaboration that we have going on with them.
You know, we're giving away karate tokens as well, just, you know, for simple giveaways on Twitter and within our discord for people to win.
People are extremely engaged when there is any sort of giveaway, which is really great to see.
And then, you know, once they they do see that giveaway, they they stick around, they ask questions, they get curious.
And I think that's a really great way to bring more people that may be just our karate combat fans or MMA sports fans interested in the fantasy gaming side of things.
And then, you know, maybe they dip their toes into a little bit of Web3.
Great. That's that's what we're hoping for, for sure.
All right. So last but certainly not least, we have Astro Nova up here.
Can we get an update from your team as well?
Yep. Hey, guys. Excited to be here.
I'm Delphine Martin, director at Astro Nova.
We are, for those who don't know, we are a meta RPG powered by Dera with an expansive story, an open world to explore, free to play and built on Unreal Engine 5.
Well, for the past months, we've been quietly building and now we are preparing for a massive campaign on our demo launch and on the short term roadmap until end of year.
We have three big things coming. The first one, as I said, the demo launch, which will be a 30 minute solo gameplay and will bring a lot of surprises, mainly in what platforms it will be launched.
But it's something that I'm not going to disclose today.
Secondly, we have the Black Pass, which is the digital ID of the players in the Astro Nova ecosystem.
It will compile the earning aspect of the game, airdrops, achievements, referrals.
Well, everything will be done through the Black Pass.
And finally, we will have our new website, as we are under a rebranding stage and one of its key elements, of course, it's our website, where we aim to have a superb quality.
And personally, I'm quite excited for it.
So all of this will happen until the end of year.
On the long term perspective, we have our token launch, RBV, which is a revived token.
The date is still yet to be determined, but we want to ensure the timing is perfect.
Next, we also are going to launch our NFT collection, Onedera, of Deviants, which are NFTs that are companions in Astronova MTG, Astronova Meta RPG characters.
And we also have Deviants comic book, which is like the story of this collection.
And I'm going to go ahead with the story of Astronova, short.
It's a millennia-long godlike battle representing good and evil spilled over the mortal worlds.
The survivors of this battle sought refuge in five different worlds, collectively known as Astronova.
And this is the Astronova meta-RPG.
In these worlds, we have different beings, vampires, angels, trolls, elves, fairies.
Well, any sort of beings you can imagine.
Well, as I said, we've been building a lot.
We are on the rebranding stage.
We are going to release the gameplay trailer, cinematic trailer, everything in the upcoming weeks.
And share the gameplay, because we never have revealed the gameplay yet.
So I'm quite excited for that.
And I want to share also that we have a mission to attract gamers to Web3, but also increase awareness and knowledge of the Adera ecosystem.
And we want the Adera community to be proud in what we are building at Astronova and about the game quality that we will have.
So proud that no one can ignore anymore, and so proud that they will share it with the world.
And to the other partners and projects, I want to highlight something.
I believe, collectively, we have two missions.
The first one, onboarding new Web3 users outside Adera to Adera.
And the second one, onboarding Web2 gamers to Web3 gaming.
And in order to achieve those, I believe we need to cooperate instead of competing with each other, because we are one big ecosystem fighting for the same goal.
And to have success, we must be united, because the more united we are, the more stronger we'll become collectible.
So, and by saying this, I think we have a lot of opportunities when it comes to cross-marketing strategies between all projects within Adera.
And I really hope we can do a massive gaming campaign between all of us, so we show how strong the Adera ecosystem is.
And yeah, that's it, guys.
Well said, and I'm already proud of all of what you guys have accomplished to this point.
But I think as we can really engage with these games more going forward, it's just going to be that much more impressive.
But I'm going to bring HBAR Hub up here real quick.
If you have a question or comment, go ahead.
Yeah, so I had a question for the Reality Plus team.
I don't know if we were, I think you said it was the last speaker, so just thought I'd ask one for Reality Plus again.
They mentioned that they have tokenized 2 million things on something, kind of in the name of BBC.
And I'm always just curious why people choose other platforms, because it baffles me.
But no, I know I realize one huge reason is for liquidity purposes.
You know, these big platforms want something that's better known.
So curious why you chose Hedera for FIFA and then what you chose for those other 2 million NFTs or tokenized items with the BBC project.
Okay, so first of all, I mentioned that we work with big brands, and that's something that we are extremely focused on.
And I really, everyone at Reality Plus truly believes that by working with well-known brands, that brings you millions of users.
And Doctor Who has millions of fans.
And I think with the new series coming out, and I don't know if you know this, but Disney Plus have just agreed to distribute the TV program on the, on their, through the US and Asia on their streaming platform.
So it will be a huge international brand next year, and it's pretty big this year.
But what it does, it attracts a lot of people.
And we've been promoting this trading card game for the last year.
We've been advertising on all the normal platforms, very mass market across Meta, Google, Twitter.
And it's about bringing in people that just want to play a Doctor Who trading card game.
We don't actually mention much about the technology behind it.
We don't really mention NFTs.
We talk about the cards as being digital collectibles, and you can trade them and use them in the game.
So it's very focused on the mass market, and that has really worked.
And if you go to the website now, it's called DoctorWho-WorldsApart.com.
So DoctorWho-WorldsApart.com.
You can see the website now, and you can buy NFTs in packs of cards today, except we promote them as digital collectible playing cards.
And it's a side chain that we've built off the Ethereum mainnet, and everything is minted on the side chain.
And we've now minted, as I say, 2 million cards.
And you can go into the marketplace.
There's nearly a million dollars of trades, and you can see the live activity.
And the cards are trading anywhere from, you know, 50 cents upwards.
This is not about speculation.
It's about lots of little trades happening all the time.
I mean, the most expensive card went for $2,500, and that was a really rare DoctorWho actor.
And it had particular good gameplay statistics on the card.
So they can go for a lot of money.
But it's all about the mass market.
It's all about lots of little trades.
So at the moment, we are speaking to Hedera about plugging in their wallets and their chain.
And we really like the speed and the cost of that.
And I think it integrates well with the kind of fan base that DoctorWho brings.
Does that answer your question?
So, yeah, you went for speed and really quickness and cheapness of transactions at first and are thinking about branching out.
Yeah, so everything – I think when it comes to games, if there's any friction, if there's anything that takes time, you've just lost that player.
So, you know, you have to make sure that things are fast, they're quick, and actually just work.
And more importantly, the game is fun and easy to play.
And that's been a big focus right from the beginning.
And it's working perfectly.
And I see we have Basil and Patrick.
You guys have your hands up.
Basil, what do you have for us?
That's, well, huge numbers.
What do you mean when you say, like, you've minted 2 million cards?
Is it, like, related to the game Doctor Who?
So, like, 2 million cards were purchased by community members using Hedera Network?
Just trying to understand.
No, this is on – so this is on a sidechain that we built off the Ethereum mainnet.
Currently, they're minted on our sidechain, and we bridge with three other blockchains if you want to export them to, I don't know, OpenSea and external wallet.
But moving forward, we have a new game coming out, which is the mobile game, which we are looking to integrate Hedera only into our platform.
So there's the original one, which is there live now, and then moving forward, it's going to be even bigger, actually.
And when I say minted 2 million, that's – you buy a pack of cards, and a pack of cards ranges from price-wise $499 up to $200.
There's a maximum of 10,000 packs of cards.
After that, we never release the same cards again, so the only place you can buy them is in the marketplace.
Hence, there's some kind of rarity and scarcity around it.
And a pack of cards comes with an average of 10 different unique cards inside it.
So, yeah, I think it's over 2 million now since we started selling the packs.
And Patrick, what – I'm sorry, go ahead.
No, no, that's impressive, but I'm just trying to – so how many users have bought them?
Because, like, 2 million, they're like, how many packs have you sold?
Like, you have maximum 10 cards per pack, right?
So we've got – it's not a huge amount of users, actually.
We have just a massive fan base.
I think we've got nearly 40,000 registered users, of which half of those are actively trading and buying cards.
And what's even more impressive is the game has – you know, it's live today.
You can download it for one week only.
We keep releasing the – this is the PC version.
We release it every week once a month for testing, and we upgrade it.
So right now, this week, you can go and download the game, and you can buy some cards, and they're NFTs, and you can play it.
So as I say, just go to the website, and you'll see exactly how it works.
When you buy the cards, it's an e-commerce transaction.
There's no wallet downloads.
You know, you buy with a credit card, PayPal or crypto.
So it's – again, it's aimed at people that don't really understand the technology but just want to play a good game.
And then we start to engage with that user, and we start to, I suppose, educate them on what an NFT means.
And the marketplace is built on our platform.
So we're not sending you to OpenSea immediately.
You can just click marketplace, and you can go into the market, and you can buy and sell your cards.
Then, if you want to export them, we educate you on how to do that.
If you have an external wallet or you want to take it to OpenSea, how you can paste your wallet address.
And it's at this point that we'll be integrating Hedera because it will be in a Hedera wallet.
But at the moment, we bridge with three other blockchains, which is – I think it's Binance, Smart Chain, Polygon, and Ethereum.
But that's probably – exporting the NFT off our sidechain into an external wallet is the only point where you probably need some Web3 or some blockchain understanding.
Up until that point, it's all off-chain on our website.
And I think that's what we want to do.
We want to get millions of users in, buying these cards, having some fun, and then going, oh, wow, I own these.
I can take them to a third-party marketplace.
And that's where we're coming from.
It's not aimed directly at Web3 experts right now.
It's aimed at the mass market, and we're slowly moving them across into Web3.
And I think it's Tatasuki.
I'm sorry if I'm pronouncing that wrong, but I'm going to get to you when we get to infrastructure here in a little bit.
But, Patrick, you had a comment.
Yeah, I just want to compliment Tony on what he's doing.
I love the BBC, but I love them most for their costume dramas.
I'm a nerd who watches those costume dramas.
But on another thing, I wanted to get back to HBAR Hub on this question, because I spoke to another YouTube channel today.
You know him too, Brendan.
He's a very big fan of Hedera.
And he asked me the same question, actually.
Why did you decide to build on Hedera?
And I explained that our programmer, Jorgo, well, we have several now, but we started out with the three founders.
And Jorgo is a programmer.
And only two hours later, he called me back and said, this is the one I want to build on because it was so easy.
The funny thing is that, well, I don't, all in crypto, he then told me, that's so funny because we all say, well, we joke about it.
We are here for the tech, but you are really here for the tech.
We need to tell people about that.
So, yes, we really are here for the tech.
But also, the thing is, if you are building a serious project, you want to know what you're up against.
So you don't want fees to change, but you don't want them to cost a lot as well.
And that's the nice thing about Hedera.
If you know that your fees will always be $0.0001, first of all, that's low.
So it's very, very usable, of course.
But you also always know where you are.
So long-term strategy is easy to plan then with Hedera.
So, yeah, and safety is another issue.
And if you ask Ben, he'll talk you in for another hour on why you would go for Hedera.
But I think in the coming months, yes, we will see more inflow of projects to Hedera.
Because even he told me as well that he met so many projects already who were starting on another chain
and are now looking to go to Hedera for all these benefits.
I was just going to say, I got to talk at a Crypto Mondays thing.
I just got to talk about mostly Hedera the whole time.
There's this guy who created some DPoS systems like EOS and some others.
But when I told him about gossip about gossip and virtual voting and stuff, he's like, oh, that's interesting.
But anyway, after the session, actually, some people, one person who has started a bank and sold it and another person who's involved in Filecoin, they were like, that was the only one that wasn't recorded, but the one that should have been.
And somebody else said, like, it was the best Crypto Monday ever.
And I was just talking about Hedera and the unique aspects about it and how the path to decentralization and stuff like that.
But afterward, another guy said, yeah, I just want to be able to build something that will work and no surprises.
And I think one of the biggest surprises that are coming over the next year or two with the next bull market is these high fees.
And I think that's just really going to stand out like in the future.
I'm excited about it now and the future and the people who have discovered it already and then the ones that will discover it in the future.
It's the future looks bright.
So Hedera Gaming is about more than just the games themselves.
It's also about the infrastructure and services that help make those games possible.
And we have two of those teams represented here today.
I do want to get to the audience member as well.
But one of them is HeadStarter and the other one is Kabila.
So Tudor from HeadStarter, can you tell us about how your platform can support game developers and your experiences so far?
And it's great listening to so many inspiring founders, builders, and entrepreneurs in the space.
It's great to hear how diligent they are with their development and commitment to the project and how building on Hedera has their community so deeply entrenched in everything what they're doing.
You rightfully said that HeadStarter serves as an infrastructural piece for the projects that are building in our ecosystem.
And GameFi is an important segment in the economy.
But we also have a very deep focus on a lot of the other segments that are in our ecosystem.
We also have a lot of NFTs, NFTs, DeFi, to mention a few.
Some people may know that we co-founded the Hashgraph DeFi Alliance with and recently added new members.
So we have a very deep focus on enabling some of the primitives there to continuously help builders in our space build.
And we indeed, when it comes to projects, our focus is particularly on the crowdfunding aspect.
And this is something that people can see on our DAP and have seen some of the very successful events we have had recently.
But we actually have, we put a lot of work in the background and we're trying a lot of these endeavors in the background, whether they are, have to do with incubation, acceleration, due diligence of projects and various services through service providers that we facilitate.
We'll be coming out a bit more in the open.
Some of them are going to be captured into something that we call Thomas.finance.
I'm happy to mention that for the first time here.
But over the past few months, we've been focusing on adding more versatility to the crowdfunding mechanisms that we provide for projects on our platform.
And also, at the same time, we have been focusing on the other side of things, on the pre-publicly facing endeavors when it comes to connections with venture capitalist funds for our projects and showcasing some of the leading projects in our ecosystem to various events.
Actually, we have had a few months ago, an event that we organized together with the support of Astronova, Earthlings, Legends of the Past in Manila, where we had a big stand that represented the Hedera ecosystem.
And since Manila has a very deep ecosystem, we organized also a couple of side events there, engaged with the community and also some very important local actors and try to spread the awareness about Hedera with the builders,
but also onboard new users, but also onboard new users to Hedera, that we managed to do so with some proof of attendance NFTs, giveaways for fungible tokens.
So huge shout out over there to SaucerSwap and BladeWallet and Hashpack.
And although, you know, when it comes to these events, we also have, as I mentioned, a particular focus on pitching and funding events.
We actually, in the first week of November, we'll be organizing in real life in Dubai, a pitch event where that will be merged reality.
Some projects will be pitching in real life at a venue in the financial center in Dubai to a panel of Web3 community members and private investors.
And also in December, we also will be showcasing two of the leading projects to an investor-focused event, also in Dubai, called with our friends over at Agora.
And this is the third time that we are participating to the event.
And last year, we showcased two of the leading projects on Hedera that hadn't launched yet at that time, which were HeliSwap and Karate Combat.
We all know how much Karate Combat was a resounding success, and we'll continue to put an emphasis on supporting and enabling the ecosystem projects in our space.
We have a very particular focus on making sure that the projects are not falling in the same traps as some have over the past years or so.
We want to make sure that we have an emphasis on sustainable models, circular models that are real yield-based and will not fall prey to different exploit vectors.
So, a particular focus in the due diligence when it comes to the token economy.
And actually, speaking of real yield, as well, we'll be announcing for Headstarter our new Modus Operandi and updated roadmap in a blog post pretty soon.
So, stay tuned for that. Thanks for having us.
Absolutely, Tudor. We're impressed with everything you guys have done to this point.
Who do we have behind Kabila right now?
You have Jack. Can you hear me okay?
I thought it was you, Jack.
What are your thoughts on the Hedera Gaming ecosystem?
And can you give us the latest from Kabila?
So, first of all, it's just great to be here.
I mean, there's a lot of familiar faces here.
But also listening to Tony and what they've accomplished.
I mean, I'm from the UK myself.
I used to watch EastEnders as a kid.
So, you know, just hearing what the guys over there are accomplishing on their platform is just, it's really inspiring.
But it also goes to show what the future holds on the other side of the coin.
Because I feel that sometimes a lot of us, including us at Kabila and within the HBAR community, we're very focused on Web3, Web3, NFTs, the terminology.
And seeing someone accomplish so many things as well on the flip side of that, focusing more on the mass market, on not so much the technology, but the value proposition or the end product.
Not saying that we're not, but we tend to look at it from a different angle.
So, that's just super inspiring.
When it comes to gaming, I've honestly been seeing a lot of gaming on my timeline.
Not just Hedera-based, but in general.
I feel like there's a real, quite a bit of traction coming in the space, in the Web3 space, across different chains.
Web3 games that, they started development, let's say, a couple of years ago.
And as we know, games take a long time, and they're slowly but surely coming to fruition.
And everyone just seems to be excited.
I've heard from many people that, you know, gaming is going to be the use case.
It's going to move the needle, you know, for the next run.
And I feel like we're really starting to see some of that.
And it's very inspiring to be alongside, you know, Earthlings, Astronova, Legends of the Past, Karataka.
You know, these guys building, you know, they're solid teams, and they're really delivering, slowly but surely, the visions that they have.
And, yeah, it's just very, very inspiring.
You said give a little update on Kabila.
Because, obviously, we do support, you know, Legends of the Past had a mint on Kabila a few months back for their few, they had a few infinity jars left for the public.
So, you know, we do have an infrastructure of tools and have a launch pad.
We have a new wallet coming out.
We actually have, we're having the team right now revamp the whole infrastructure.
We're going to have a new version going online.
We're actually announcing the date this week on the community call with our holders, which they're very excited about.
And I know the team is for sure, we've been working on it for the past months, and there's still a few months to go.
But, you know, from tools to wallet, to launch pad, to market, there's going to be a real revamp, a rebrand, and new features that we're very excited to bring to market.
And, yeah, that's us, really.
I'm always excited to be here with the community.
I spend a lot of time on Twitter, connecting with everyone, interviewing spaces.
And as much as it's the bear, I personally feel more bullish than ever.
You have been waiting patiently for a while.
I wanted to give you the floor.
First of all, I'm almost invested in all of the projects here, and it's always wonderful to see you guys progress.
I have a question for Tony Pierce.
So, I've been following the FIFA franchise for quite a long time, and recently their partnership with EA Sports expired.
And I'm also partially asking this question because I'm meeting with representatives of FC Barcelona tomorrow.
I'm wondering what type of a license do you guys have from FIFA?
So, I understand it's likely limited to women's football.
And I also wonder what other plans you have in the future.
So, within the EA Sports FIFA games, the most popular thing became Ultimate Team after a while, which essentially enabled you to trade different players and then use them in your team.
And players would also get new special cards based on their performance in real life.
However, every year, the game basically resets when a new version of FIFA comes out, which now is FC Mobile after their partnership with FIFA ended.
So, I was wondering what you guys have planned regarding football and FIFA and how far your license extends.
So, the license is two years, started a year ago, almost a year ago today.
So, we didn't have time to create the game for the Men's World Cup, which is, you know, almost a year ago today.
Although, we had that in the contract, but that's just purely a timing thing.
So, then the next games were the Women's World Cup.
And then we have the World Cups, which are World Clubs, sorry, which are the smaller FIFA games coming out.
I think it's in Q1 or Q2 next year.
But this isn't a soccer game like FIFA PlayStation, like what you're talking about.
This is a prediction game.
So, it's a very different style of license to a soccer game, as I think you're talking about.
You know, this was something brand new, something that integrated Web3, something that, again, they wanted educating on.
And that's how we went in to see them.
It wasn't about, you know, here's a big check.
That was not what it was about.
It was about, we've got an idea where we can integrate your live data into our platform and people can predict what's going to happen.
And it's not a gambling game because it was free to play, right?
It wasn't, you know, it was just good fun.
And it was an education thing for them on, you know, how many people went on to get NFTs.
What do people do with them?
What they, how they found it?
So, so I can't say exactly what the terms are, but it was, it was new for them and more on the educational side than about the license fee side.
The game was kind of new in terms of what it did.
I'm not sure if the Women's World Cup was as big as we'd expected it to be in terms of the fan base around NFTs.
And I think a lot of it's, maybe it's because it was Australia and the time difference and, and I don't know.
But, you know, we were pretty pleased with the figures and we integrated Hedera.
So they were our exclusive wallet in, in that project worked really well.
And, you know, we're talking to them now about extending it.
And, you know, we obviously want to have the Men's World Cup, but that's another two years away.
So it, it, it's not your traditional soccer game license.
It's not like FIFA PlayStation.
It's a very different style game.
I was excited about everything that I saw around that.
And, and we always see the, the road code NFTs there in the top 10 for Hedera as well.
So, so good job all around.
I did have a few more questions, but I think we're going to have to stop it there.
We're at the top of the hour.
Thanks of course, to the entire panel.
Thanks to everyone who asked questions.
And of course, everyone that listened in.
Thank you so much, everyone.
