Thank you. Thank you. GM, GM, I'm just going to do a quick tech check.
Shannon, I see we have you.
Can you hear me okay?
Yes, I can hear you fine.
Can you hear me?
Okay, that's great.
That's the first.
That's always positive.
I'm going to kick things off in the next couple of minutes.
Hopefully we'll see more folks roll on in.
Okay. Sounds great. Thank you. Okay, we're just at time now.
Shannon, I want to be respectful of your time,
but maybe folks will kind of start joining as we kick off the call. So, GM, and happy Friday, everyone.
Thanks a lot for joining this morning or this afternoon, depending on where you are off the call. So GM and happy Friday everyone. Thanks a lot for joining this
morning or this afternoon depending on where you are in the world. So a bunch of you have joined
these calls before where we invite partners or collaborators to join me just to give the community
like a quick intro or overview and just to let us know really what they're working on and how the
community could potentially get involved in whatever that is.
So today we've got Shannon from Human Node.
Shannon, welcome, welcome.
Thanks so much for joining.
So what we'll do is we'll kick things off with just a simple intro.
I see more folks are joining and probably from the Human Node side.
Just for any newcomers, I'm Claire.
I lead growth for Ontology.
And Shannon, I'll pass the mic to you if you want to do an intro to yourself
and maybe tell us about your role at HumanNode.
Okay, well, thank you for inviting me.
I'm Shannon.
I'm the media lead for HumanNode.
And actually, I'm a founding member of the whole project.
For those of you who don't know what HumanNode is,
we are a layer one blockchain
that does not use proof of work or proof of stake.
We basically do proof of biometric uniqueness.
proof of biometric uniqueness.
And because we do proof of biometric uniqueness,
we can basically set up a network of nodes and validators
where one node, so one validator,
can be created with one biometric identity.
Thus, one human, one node.
And when it goes into governance, it means one vote.
So that's, I guess, the broader picture.
And I guess one thing that we try to bring to the world of Web3 and Boxing and all
is what we call civil resistance.
So you can basically find a way to, I don't know,
prove that you are a real human being.
We don't need to know who you are,
but we need to know that you're a real human being behind there.
So that's kind of the short story here.
Awesome. That was a perfect intro. Nice and simple. I think these things can get quite
complicated, but I appreciate that, Shannon. Delighted to have you on the call today. So
we always follow a very similar format where I always have questions just to get to know you a
little bit better and get to know a little bit more about your working on, as I said.
So it depends on how long we take.
It could be up to 30 minutes or it could be shorter.
So we're very flexible when it comes to this.
But again, thank you for the intro there.
So we do have a campaign live with Orange Protocol right now.
So just for any folks that might not be familiar,
Orange is that kind of reputation there for Web3.
Let's folks prove things about themselves,
like being real unique human,
as you just touched on Shannon,
and carry that proof to different apps.
So we recently, or Orange recently,
connected with HumanNode Biomapper.
Shannon, what does this unlock for
regular users and communities in general?
Okay, so as I mentioned earlier, Biomapper is a product that, or I guess I'd say an app,
that came out of the whole human-owned concept of biometric uniqueness, right? So
biometric uniqueness, right? So when we launch our nodes, we want to prove that there's a real
person behind it so that the power is balanced, so that, you know, money doesn't equal power,
you know, the fact that you're unique equals power. But that's just kind of for a blockchain.
But we realize that there are a lot of applications and a lot of services
in the world that are suffering because of civil resistance. And we realized that we can,
are suffering from civil attacks and the lack of civil resistance. So we realized that we could use our technology to create a safe and private way to prove that your account is owned by a real human without giving out any information about you.
And basically what biomapper does is to prove that there's a real human
behind that
Wallet behind that evm address and what this allows
the various services dapps or
Web 3 services is you can create a situation where you can have one user, one account.
And so let's say you want to do an airdrop, but you don't want the 10 million fakes, the bots, to get all the goodies. You can make sure that only addresses that have proven they have a real human behind them can join. So what this does for the
community in general is it brings a little more fairness. So you want an airdrop or you want a
whitelist or you want to know actually how many users you have or that you're really speaking to a human being, this can add an extra layer of security without giving out
privacy. So as various apps come up with, well, the apps that come up with biomapper solutions,
users can easily prove that they're human and join as one. So what this whole campaign is really about
is getting people to prove that they're human and more applications that start to use
Biomapper, well, the easier access you will have because you've already proven you're human.
I mean, when you walk through it like that, Shannon, it just makes so much sense to have something like a biomapper kind of connected to any Web3 services, whether it's DAPS or otherwise.
So, and yeah, just for folks to know that this is just an intro call, so we keep them quite short.
to know that this is just an intro call, so we keep them quite short, but I think there's a lot
more for us to kind of do a bit of a deep dive into at a later stage. We can organize other AMAs,
or if anyone has questions, feel free to follow up with me after the spaces. So we touched on
the campaign, and I appreciate the kind of the overview you've given over Biomapper, but just
when it comes to the campaign that's live, there is an element of the campaign
where folks can earn these 20 additional OHS points
or Orange Humanities scores.
So it is super simple.
You just go to Orange Protocol
or you connect your wallet in the Orange app,
go to Reputation Credentials,
complete the Biomapper part,
and then you get 20 points on your Orange Humanities score.
So it is very simple.
It's an easy way to track
kind of who's completed this proof of humanity step.
And as Shannon's
walked us through,
like preventing civil attacks
keeps things like governance
and anything like quests,
like for example,
like this campaign
or any rewards,
just honest.
Again, by proving uniqueness
and, you know,
protecting your privacy as well.
So not revealing
any kind of identity. So we've gone
through Biomap, which is awesome. Appreciate that. Are there any other tips that you could
maybe throw in to avoid common mistakes that this is kind of preventing? Well, one thing that often
happens is, let's say for, it's the same for Biomapper or another product we have, which is Botpasture,
which is like the free version that you can use in Discord or Telegram to prove that the
account has a real human in it.
The thing is, people sometimes are so used to clicking through things that they click
through, they attach their identity to the wallet they didn't want to attach it to.
their identity to the wallet they didn't want to attach it to. And once your biometrics are
attached to a wallet, you won't be able to change that for at least six months. So when you
biomap yourself, which is a very simple 15-second process, make sure that you have the right wallet that you
want to tie yourself to and make sure that's if you're doing it for BotBasher
make sure you have the right account as you want to tie it to otherwise if you
have other wallet addresses or other accounts well those accounts will kind
of not be able to prove that they're from a unique human being.
So that's just one thing that you really want to be careful of.
Very valuable information, Shanna.
I think it's too easy to make that mistake.
I'm not admitting that I have done this in the past, but that's definitely valuable information.
I'm sure there's folks with a bunch of different wallets.
It can happen.
So, yeah, thank you so much for that.
I found something quite interesting.
If we could learn a little bit more,
you just touched on that there was a free version of this biomapping,
but I know that there is this free Windows C2 that HumanNode is kind of working on.
If you could share more information around what that looks like for the community.
Okay, yes.
So basically for actually for the next five days or so,
until the end of the month, we have this window where I believe it's like 500 accounts or so, maybe more, maybe less.
I'm not sure how many slots there are left for Orange Protocol,
but basically people, they biomap and connect to Orange Protocol and ontology,
which is a very simple process.
I mean, the whole thing, the whole process will take, you know, more than three minutes.
But you basically biomap yourself, tie your wallets to it, and bridge to Ontology. ontology and there you go at the end of the month we will basically airdrop the cost for biomapping which is basically a dollar or so and the bridging fees that you had to pay to get yourself biomapped and we all refunded every user or within that limit of
I think 500 to 1000 users. So if you haven't been biomapped before, this is a good chance to do so
because you can basically do it for free. You have to pay for the, I think, total of $2 or something in the beginning, but that will be refunded to you.
So it's a good chance to do so.
Definitely.
So we're just adding incentives, which is always nice to see.
And actually, it's a great time to remind folks who maybe aren't following Ontology or Orange or Human Node on social
so that you can keep up to date with all of these campaigns
and that you can be tracking all of this information and set reminders.
But I believe it's up until September 31st.
And Shannon, I don't know how many there are either.
So it's a good push for folks to go and find that out.
push it's a good push for folks to go and find that out
and one thing is is that if there are protocols that have let's say a larger slot but they didn't
use their slots there's a very good chance that this the uh groups that had more than expected
would be reimbursed too i mean it's a guarantee, but there's a very good chance
that will happen. So basically, this is your chance. Go and do it. Definitely. And it's
essentially free because you are being reimbursed. So we do like to hear that. There's a very
valuable, another valuable piece of information this morning. Okay. So we do talk a lot about
privacy and safety. Shanna, you've touched on it a bunch already during the call.
And I mean, we talk about it a lot around ontology and decentralized entity with civil attacks or ZK proof.
So I know, obviously, this is a core focus for HumanNode as well.
So if anybody that's interested when it comes to like maybe data or information, what actually gets stored and then what doesn't?
information what actually gets gets stored and and then what doesn't okay so actually this is
one of my favorite topics because you know like like anybody i don't like my private information
being stored by third parties right so for for biomapping uh currently uh and this is a key point, currently the modality we use is the human face.
We could do iris, you could do hand vein, whatever, but this gets a little complicated right now.
So we basically scan the face and you can use your computer or your smartphone to do so.
And in the process, we are basically looking for two pieces of information.
One is, are you alive or not?
Meaning, are you a real human or not?
I mean, people can do masks.
They can try photographs.
They can try deep fakes.
They can try to insert video feeds.
They can try, you know, various makeup or try to look emo or whatever.
There's 70 or so AI modules in there that will determine if you are a real human or not.
So that's the first piece of information.
Is this person real or not?
The second piece of information is, are you unique or not?
Meaning, is this face in the system or not?
And if it's determined that you are alive and not in the system, basically, I call it a 3D map. It's a very warped map of what the human looks like, but it's not something that you can
reconstruct to make a human face. It's like a mapped version of code that is encrypted,
gets stored into what is called a CVM, a confidential virtual machine.
what is called the CVM, a confidential virtual machine.
And this data is something that only the system can access
when it's checking to see if the next person is in the system or not.
So the only piece of information that ever gets stored is that encrypted map. And we are not, as an inhuman node,
our developers are not able to go in and look at this information. We can't go inside
the confidential virtual machine. Third parties cannot either. Only the system can check to see if a person's face is already in there or not.
All the live video feed, all the data is done locally on your phone or your computer
and is deleted on the spot.
So let's say somebody finds a way to physically break through the hardware and get the data, which is, I won't say it's impossible, but it's very, very, very difficult.
Then people get a bunch of encrypted jumble 3d maps that do not represent a human so I can
say your privacy is pretty much protected there because the only thing
we really want to know is if you're you are unique or not and if you are alive
or not any other information yes you can tie it to a separate account.
Let's say a user account for a certain service and you provide them with information to create an account.
Well, that is between you and that Web3 or you and that DAP, you and that account.
And you basically would have to agree to give that information,
right? But the information for the biomapper, really, we do not know who you are. We do not retain any obvious biological information. We cannot and do not share it with third parties and we can't even share it with ourselves.
And so one more point.
I mentioned six months to if you tie it to the wrong address or whatever, you can't change it for six months.
Why the six months is that once every six months we totally wipe the system. So if you are enjoying
biomapper for something, you basically would have to re-bio map yourself every six months.
And this is to prove that, of course, after six months you you're still alive. And to make sure that everything is kept up to date.
But all previous data is wiped and gone clean.
So we do not create a situation where people can go and look into all the data or whatever.
So this is another layer of security that we have added.
That is actually really interesting, Shannon.
So you're protecting yourselves,
but you're also protecting the user as well.
So there's no real point in you keeping this data.
There's nowhere really to store it.
And then also this proves uniqueness and liveness as well.
Super interesting. Thank you so much for going through that.
And just to kind of repeat what I'd mentioned earlier,
if anybody has additional questions,
feel free to reach out to me after the call.
I can point you in the right direction.
To anybody on the HumanO team, super, super helpful.
So yeah, just don't hesitate to reach out
and make sure you're following on social for all these updates.
But Shannon, thank you so much for that.
Seeing as I guess this is quite an important part of these weekly calls kind of around community or or giving you the chance to share any updates.
So I don't know if you have any upcoming quests or integrations or anything really you can share with the community this morning.
you can share with the community this morning?
Oh, I do not think we have any quest within the next couple of weeks,
but we do have one of our partners,
one gaming company is going to be launching on Humanode
within the next month or two.
And it is a very exciting game
called catacomb crawlers you might be able to find uh their demo version the apps or for
any of your smartphones it's a very fun game anyway they will be launching on humanode and they will be basically using biomapper for most likely for the rewards
or whatnot. You can have as many accounts as you want, but if you want to get rewards
and whatnot, you'll have to be biomapped. So that is coming. Another thing that you might see in the Humanoad X, you'll be seeing one or two EVMs, different chains, getting access to Biomapper.
Basically, with C1, we're able to bridge to other chains. So you can biomap once and bridge it to whatever chain that is available.
So let's say if your developers come up with an ADAPT that requires biomapping
that requires biomapping or a Web3 service that requires biomapping.
or a Web3 service that requires biomapping.
Well, some people who have not biomapped might have to biomap from the beginning.
But if other people have biomapped on other chains,
they will be able to bridge it to this chain.
So you'd be able to do it on ontology if you have biomapped on other chains.
So that is something that we will continue to work on.
And right now, I'm in the process of converting tokens, whatever is like a two or three quick
process. It isn't that hard, but we want to make this a one quick operation. So obviously we'll be working on making the user experience even better.
And that will be coming out in the next few months too.
Nice. Okay, great. So adding a lot more value for the community. I'd love to share information
like that. So it would be great actually to stay connected, to hear more about how the partnership
with this gaming protocol is developing.
We did a really interesting gaming series
where we were talking about security
and decentralized identity around games.
So I'd be interested to stay connected
and we can share another update on similar spaces.
But yeah, definitely really interesting.
I appreciate that, Shannon.
So if we jump back to Humanode really quickly,
I know you touched on this earlier,
but there might be a little bit more information you could share with us.
It was around, for example, how folks would just get started tomorrow.
Like what's the easiest way to kick things off with,
with Biomapper in general?
Would you send them to any docs, any links,
or is there maybe anywhere in discord that would you send them to any docs any links or is there maybe
anywhere in discord that that they could go just to get started yes um i come to the human node
uh discord's channel or you can come to uh human telegram channel which is human nodes as in you add an S to it, human nodes.
We have a lot of, we have people there that are ready to answer your questions. If you come to our website, humannode.io, it has all the links.
Of course, for Biomapper, you can go to the mainnet.biomapper.hmnd.app.
You'll find all these links on humano.io, but you can just go here.
It has all the docs.
You can biomap.
biomap, you can learn how to biomap.
You can learn how to biomap.
And if you are a developer, it's very easy to integrate biomapper into your application.
In reality, it's just a few line of codes.
Great. We always like it when it's easy to get involved in something and it's not as intimidating.
I think when you're maybe not used to the space
or you're coming from a non-technical background
or even from Web 2 into Web 3,
it can be a little bit intimidating.
It can be quite clunky.
It's not as easy to kind of adapt.
So we always appreciate when projects or protocols
make it easier for people to get involved.
So that's great.
So like most of our community,
I know how Ontology kind of manages community as well as Discord and Tele. So that's great. So like most of our community and how Ontology
kind of manages community as well as Discord and Telegram, that's great. So everyone can find the
information that they need there. And just quite quickly, I just want to be kind of respectful of
your time. I always like to ask this, if there's any information around roadmap updates,
if there's anything you could share with us today. Well, I guess, you know, for Humanode in general,
I'd say there are two main things that we are working on right now.
And one is definitely onboarding more chains with Biomapper.
onboarding more chains with Biomapper.
But currently, we are working with the DAO,
which is called the Vortex.
And we hope to have our fundamental baseline application up.
Hopefully by the end of the year, but most likely early next year.
But the thing about the Vortex, the human node DAO,
that would be very, very interesting for people who are interested in DAOs
is that it is a, you know, one human, one node, one vote system.
So each vote has equal weight. So you can take the founder of HumanNode
and let's say if you're a developer working into your validator and you choose to be part of the
DAO, your vote will have equal weight as the founder. So we believe it will become one of the most decentralized and democratic
DAOs available. And although we've had it in our papers and we've worked on the systems behind it,
we're actually in the process of building it right now. So if you are interested in development, if you're interested in DAOs, this will definitely
be something to look forward to.
I am very interested in DAOs.
So I will be tracking you guys on this and maybe we can reconnect when there's closer
to a launch date just to give folks more of an update.
But yeah, that's really interesting.
I appreciate the insights there.
We're just coming a little bit closer to kind of wrapping up our chat today.
I wanted to give you a couple of minutes if there's maybe anything I didn't ask
that you wanted to cover or kind of any summary you wanted to share
with the community today.
You've been a wonderful host, so you've asked a lot of questions,
and I believe I might have talked a little too much.
Oh, perfect.
blog.humano.io. We have a lot of articles about civil resistance or about, you know, various
things we are aiming for. And I actually believe that it is important for people to
become a little more aware of what, you know, civil attacks are and civil resistance is and
how it actually is, it affects you. People, you know, it's the
same with privacy, right? People don't care about privacy until they do, until it's a problem,
right? So, you know, civil resistance is the same. Without civil resistance,
the price of things go up because however much it costs will always be reflected
on to the user. And not having proper civil resistance often kills great projects.
So if people would be interested in learning a little bit more about it, please visit our blog to do some reading on it.
Another thing I'd say is, like, Biomapper is a great way to do it for Web3.
For Web2, we have other services.
But do try out BotBasher on Telegram, too.
Do try out BotBasher on Telegram, too.
If you have your own server or your own community and you are tired of bots coming in, spamming and running, you can try BotBasher.
What it allows you to do is create channels that only people with a verified human tag can join.
So if you just want a place where,
create a safe place or a safe space
within your Discord or your Telegram channels,
do try it.
It's free to use.
It's free to map.
So yeah, I think that's about it great shannon thank you so much i've
really enjoyed um our time this morning i know it's very quick intro but i think it allows the
community to just hear from the team exactly what's happening um and then it leads us to you
know kind of further collaboration whether it's around content or it's another kind of ama where
we could deep dive into a different topic but But I definitely agree with you, kind of learning about something before it happens to you,
before, not that it's too late, but before the unfortunate incident kind of has occurred.
Because, yeah, I've been in this space for a number of years and I've seen unfortunate results kind of come from,
you know, like incorrect analytics or kind of issues around airdrops as well.
And it's terrible to see that for projects or for individuals too.
So we're all for educating the community.
So definitely check out the Human Node blog.
And feel free to reach out to us if you have any other questions.
But Shannon, again, appreciate your time this morning.
I'm just going to stay on for another couple of minutes just to do a quick community update.
But feel free to drop off. I know you guys are very busy okay well thank you for having us and
if you can come and join us in one of our firesides it would be great we love having guests
too so great yeah definitely let's stay connected for sure okay thank you okay awesome thank you so
much shannon okay great i really enjoyed that conversation today.
I hope folks took some learnings away.
I definitely did.
I think there's just such a difference in having someone from the team join one of these chats.
I think you just get to learn a little bit more kind of straight from the project.
So I'm just going to do a couple minutes of an update for everybody.
Shannon just touched on the fact that they promote their blog and that there's a lot of useful information there
for folks specifically around these civil attacks,
which was kind of a great way for us to transition
into our blog and the updates that we have to share today.
So there was the really long piece that I mentioned last week
about seven proven ways smart wallets transform
web through identity forever.
So this is a really interesting piece around account abstraction,
kind of moving beyond EOAs,
discussing kind of portable reputation and also privacy-first identity.
So this is a really big deep dive that has seven separate sections into it.
So I described it to you last week as almost like this pillar piece of content, right,
that kind of holds main focus and then we're going to use this to bridge into other areas that are connected to this
and Jeff has uploaded the most recent piece of content that it's also on Rx so make sure that
you're kind of spreading it with your community and that you're keeping up to date so the second
part is the role of EOAs in long-term Web3 identity. So this is just a full kind of deep dive into looking at EOAs
and exactly kind of how they work within Web3.
So I'll just do a quick high-level overview
and just kind of prompt everybody to go and interact with the content
and give us your feedback as well if you're finding this useful.
So consider it like, so if you're looking at an EOA
to be the most basic account type in Ethereum and many other blockchains.
So unlike smart contracts, EOAs have no internal code or logic.
So essentially they exist just to send and receive assets secured entirely by a private key.
So if you control that key, you control the account.
But what happens if you lose the key?
Essentially it's gone. So it's gone forever.
There's no backup, no recovery, no reset button.
It's gone. So it's gone forever. There's no backup, no recovery, no reset button. It's stressful. So
the rigidity of why EOAs are perfect for what they were built for is essentially
vaults. So this is where we spend a lot of time kind of discussing the purpose of vaults and
Web3 Identity, essentially like the struggle and what they're really trying to solve when you're
kind of considering how we can use this in everyday life.
A really interesting kind of cross analysis between EOAs and smart wallets,
like exactly what the difference are and kind of how do they work together.
And then our kind of assumption on how we'd like to see things develop and move forward.
And then obviously our connection back to AntID and onto wallets.
So I'd highly recommend everybody to check this out as well.
It's a really interesting piece and it's leading us quite nicely into an upcoming release.
But we'll discuss that a little bit closer to the time.
And then as always, I'd like to bring everybody's attention to our Aunt Not Starter package.
This is a really important part of what we're trying to build with the community.
So it's essentially to welcome anybody to the community.
So we're looking to make it easier for you to learn more about privacy,
decentralized identity, and then self-custody.
So you'll get six loyal NFTs.
You collect 10 of them and you can swap them for 50 ONG.
And you've got 50 ONT, and then you also have ONG for gas.
So for 40 new ONT ID holders, select it every month.
So you can just go into the community, go to Telegram, go to Discord,
make sure that you're introducing yourself.
And then you're going to get all the support from our great Harbingers.
So just make sure that you're looking for a Harbinger in their title.
And on Discord as well, it's very much the same kind of process and they'll help you
through with your starter pack and essentially it's just to support you
through kind of every step of this kind of process. So you're learning more
about ontology and then we're kind of making it easier for you to do this as well.
And as everybody knows, we're trying to be, well, we are super active on social, but we're
trying to revitalize some of our other social profiles, as I mentioned a few weeks ago.
We're updating media more consistently.
There's been a lot of really interesting conversations happening on Reddit.
It would be great to see you guys involved or let us know if there's topics
that we should be discussing.
But the most recent chat
was around account abstraction as well.
But just to draw your attention to YouTube,
you'll probably see Jeff popping up a lot on YouTube,
our head of community.
But there is a really interesting video here
on how to earn passive income with crypto staking.
So this is about kind of setting up your own node.
So it's a step-by-step tutorial.
And yeah, again, it's on our X profile,
but if you have any questions,
feel free to drop them in the comment section,
reach out to myself or Jeff or anybody really on the team.
And we're always happy to kind of support,
just kind of support your journey as well.
And then for anybody that's going to be in Singapore, we are hosting a side event. So this is Verifying Intelligence where ZK meets AI.
So this is Monday, 29th of September. I'd be really interested to see if anybody has the opportunity to go or who is going.
I know it's already very busy, but it looks really interesting. I wish I could be there, but unfortunately not.
Some of the team obviously will be there and we're looking forward to kind of hearing about this.
But yeah, make sure that if you're available to go,
that like you're clicking that you can attend
or request to join.
That's always really important with any of these events.
So I'll wrap up today.
Just make sure that you're staying up to date
on everything that we're doing,
we're working through when it comes to the development
of our content or any of our collaborations
and then upcoming events as well.
And if you missed out on the chance to join Humpty and Jeff yesterday evening, the development of our content or any of our collaborations and then upcoming events as well.
And if you missed out on the chance to join Humpty and Jeff yesterday evening,
there's a really interesting session of where does crypto go from here? So they kind of just looked at trends from the last few weeks and where we're seeing,
hopefully, these trends kind of further developing.
So really interesting session, as always, with the guys.
But watch this space, as we always like to say
and I'd like to thank Shannon again for joining us
and next week I should have somebody else joining
I don't like to announce it too early
because things do change
but we should have another partner joining next week
and then after that we might have Dave back again
to wrap up these use cases that we are going through
for Orange Protocol
but finally yeah make sure that you're following
what's happening with Humanode.
We do have that campaign with Orange
that wraps up on the 30th of September, I believe.
And you do get refunded for anything
that you're spending on kind of utilizing this biomapper.
And then we're continuing to have content
produced on our blog,
so make sure that you're tracking that.
But as always, appreciate your time.
Enjoy the weekend and drop me a DM if you have any questions.
