Thank you for listening.
Good day, everybody.
Hello, hello.
Hello, hello.
How's it going?
What's everyone up to today?
Busy Friday for me.
It's Friday, though.
It's Friday.
Sing it, Jim, sing it.
Yeah, it's a busy day.
It's a busy day.
Welcome, EVIO.
Welcome, Balak.
What's good?
Who am I speaking to?
This is Jenny from the Bat Community team.
Hi, Jenny.
I'm David.
Hey, David.
Nice to meet you.
Did we meet at the 3XP Web3 Gaming Expo?
We must have.
I was there, yeah.
I go by Goodside as well, so I don't know if you recognize Goodside or David, but yeah,
we were there with them.
We definitely met them.
I mean, we were sharing the same booth.
Yeah, David, this is Drew, so I know we met as well there.
Oh, hey, Drew.
Yeah, man.
All right.
Hey, gang.
Hey, Belladone.
Hey, Dave.
Moonbeamer.
What's up, everybody?
Welcome, welcome.
All right.
Badrn, what's going on?
Just enjoying the sun.
I am excited for the sun to come out here.
Hopefully it does soon.
Just inviting Guillaume.
All right.
Okay, let's kick off, everyone.
The room will fill up as we get rolling here.
But hang on a second.
All right.
Welcome, everybody, to another Bat Community Twitter Spaces.
Happy to see a few new faces in here today.
Help us fill out the room by tweeting the link or sharing it.
I don't know if someone from the Bat Community team put it in our Discord, but please do if
it isn't in there.
I believe we did.
I think Belladone did.
And, of course, you can always, yeah, hit that purple button down there in the bottom right.
I got to make sure I got my directions right.
Bottom right.
You can quote, retweet, retweet that and share it out there and get people in here.
No, no, no.
You're good.
You're good.
All right.
Today, guys, we are in the Bat Cave with Evie.io.
Hang on a second.
Guillaume is in the house.
Now we've got our panel.
Welcome, Guillaume.
All right.
Oh, shoot.
Oh, my God.
I thought I just exited the spaces.
We're on the struggle bus this morning.
I'm sorry, everybody.
All right.
So for some quick background on Evie.io, before we get to intros, they are a competitive
web-based first-person shooter game that leverages blockchain technology to offer a play-to-earn
Players engage in exciting gameplay while earning crypto rewards facilitated by the purchase
and use of in-game NFTs.
Special events with partners also provide additional opportunities for players to earn tokens.
So Evie.io represents a new wave of gaming that combines fun, competitive play with the
opportunity to earn in the world of blockchain.
So exciting.
So let's move quickly through our intros so we can dive right into the convo today.
All right.
So whether you're a regular listener or visiting here for the first time, welcome.
Oh, I see we have Brave software in the house.
Welcome, Brave.
Everyone throw down some emoji reacts for Brave.
Hey, Pete.
We're super excited to have everyone here today.
And for some quick background on our team, we are the BAT community.
BAT is short for Basic Attention Token.
And it's an Ethereum-based rewards token used in Brave, a fast and private web browser that
blocks YouTube ads and other invasive third-party ads and trackers right out of the box.
BAT works within Brave by fairly pricing user attention and rewarding users in BAT for choosing
to see ads that are privacy-respecting.
It also empowers them to pay it forward by supporting their favorite content creators or
causes with BAT tips or easily programmed BAT donations.
Brave, the browser, has a user-first philosophy.
So its private ads and rewards system is totally opt-in.
Additionally, the browser eliminates the need for extensions by shipping with various privacy
features and tools.
For example, a shield that keeps you and your data safe from third-party ads and trackers,
like I mentioned earlier, private search and AI summarizer, private video conferencing,
private newsreader, VPN, multi-chain crypto wallet, and so much more.
To learn about Brave's full list of features, you can visit brave.com slash features.
And if you aren't already using the Brave browser, it's available on all platforms.
Seriously, you should get it now.
Brave.com slash download.
You can also get it on the App Store for mobile, iOS, and Google Play Store.
And if you want to learn more about Basic Attention Token, just hop on over to basicattentiontoken.org
for lots of stats and information, FAQs, everything that you need to know about that.
But please do so after the episode.
Um, we'd love to have your full attention here today.
All right.
As for introductions, I'll quickly run through mine.
I am Jenny.
I am your host today.
Um, um, assisted by my amazing team, of course, who we'll meet in just a second.
But, um, I am speaking from the back community account.
Um, a little bit about me.
So I am from Montreal, Canada.
Currently, I am living in sunny Los Angeles.
A really nice change for me because it's pretty cold in Montreal.
Although this time of year is pretty nice.
Anyway, I've been working for Brave since late 2017.
I was, uh, started as a community volunteer.
I, uh, came on as community manager in early 2018, uh, for the back community.
And now my role has extended.
I am director of community and partnerships.
Um, so I still do all the community stuff for bat, but also, um, my work now focuses on
expanding partnerships that drive growth and adoption and integration for the fat token.
And now we will meet the rest of my team.
So I'm going to kick it over to Drew for an intro.
Hey, thanks, Jenny.
Yeah, I'm Drew.
And, um, I help run the Bat Brigade Discord server, which is discord.gg slash bat brigade,
uh, where you can also get a POAP for attending the space.
So during the space, you can go in there and claim that, uh, if you have questions, you
can ask in there.
Uh, outside of that, um, I help Jenny with the community and partnership stuff and facilitating
spaces and things like this.
So, uh, super excited to have EVIO on the, on the, um, uh, space here with us today.
And actually my first question, when we get started with the questions, is it EV.io or
just EVIO?
What do you say?
But anyways, I'll turn it over to, uh, Guillermo de Gaulle, who's on my, on my right, on my
I'm also at your right on my screen.
Hello everyone.
Great seats coherent.
Hello everyone.
My name is Guillermo Pintoja and I'm from hot and sunny Portugal, currently very hot.
And I am an artist.
I specialize in illustration and design for brave basic attention token communities by
creating visually stimulating pieces to engage with the community.
I'll pass the mic on to better.
Hello, I'm baton.
I'm British, but I moved to Portugal.
Uh, I came to the, I came to pray to make memes and now I help run the ambassador program
with Jenny, helping spread the good word of baton brave across platforms.
And, uh, cultures, um, I'll pass it on to Paula.
Hi everyone.
I hope that you're having a lovely day.
Um, well, I'm Paula, I'm based in Costa Rica.
I manage the bat Costa Rica account on Twitter and co-manage the bat LATAM account as well,
where I host weekly tutor spaces along with the Hispanic, uh, bat ambassadors.
Um, I also assist with some ad campaigns with clients in LATAM and basically any, anything
Spanish or, well, Spanish slash LATAM related.
And I make the summaries from these weekly tutor spaces that you can find on discord and
And welcome.
Thank you so much team.
And I just have a quick comment.
Guilherme, how did you pronounce your last name just now?
In, in, in the Portuguese way, I know we have our argument on going about this because Jenny
calls me Pantoia and I say it's Pantorra, but in, in Portuguese, we just read the J as
So it sounds different in very different ways.
You're always giving me C-R-A-P for saying Pantoia.
I'm going to give you a next, like next week, I'm going to do it in a different way just
to mess with you.
I can't keep track.
Oh my goodness.
And I see we also have Luke in the house.
Welcome Luke.
Good to see you.
Feel free to request the mic and come on up and say hello if you want, or you can just
That's super good to have you here.
And of course, community, everyone from BAT Ambassadors, everyone from the BAT community,
folks from the EVIO community.
Welcome everyone.
Super happy to have you here today.
All right.
So last but not least, of course, we have our wonderful guests from EVIO.
So Balak slash, well, what should we call you?
Should we call you Balak?
Balak's fine, yeah.
Yeah, I'm British as well.
Still living in England.
I'm in the south of England at the moment.
And we're actually undergoing like our one week of good weather.
So I'm making the most of that at the moment.
I'm a lender in EV.io.
I'm also the project manager for the Advent clan as well.
So relatively new clan.
Been kind of in the space for around six months.
Been collecting NFTs for about four months.
So steadily accumulating and kind of tailoring my collection to meet the needs of the Advent clan.
And over that time, I've become one of the largest lenders.
So, yeah, that's a bit about me.
Whoa, that's pretty cool.
When you said you've been in the space for six months, I was expecting you to say like six years.
Six months, that's so recent.
What did you do prior?
Yeah, so prior to that, I mean, to be honest, gaming on Web3.
So I kind of got into crypto, you know, 18 months ago.
Dipped my toe into a few games.
I've kind of been away from gaming for 25 years.
So Web3 gaming was kind of a way to bridge myself back into gaming.
So, yeah, I kind of had a look at some of the other games out there.
But I weren't really sure.
I mean, obviously, it's a really new space.
I was one of the other things for me was it had to have the investing side that was right.
And EV.io to me was just I love the economy, love the simple gameplay.
But I think there's a real focus on quality.
Seems a sustainable model.
I'm kind of, you know, I'm really on board with this project.
That's awesome, Balik.
It's good to finally hear your voice because you've been a community member for a while.
I really appreciate you being around and all of the support.
Yeah, I appreciate that.
I'm David.
Guys, I handle partnerships over at EV.io.
I'm the newest member of the team and I've been here for about a little bit over a year.
I love crypto.
I love games.
And I'm really happy to be here in this space and to meet all of you.
Yeah, we're excited to meet the both of you, too.
And it seems like we already met.
So I'm sorry about that.
But it's lovely to speak to you again.
And, yeah, we're just we're super pleased to have you in the house today.
All right.
So what about the rest of your team?
So you guys are both relatively new to the project.
Can you tell us a little bit about the rest of the EV.io team?
Do they have background and experience in the game blockchain industry previous to EV?
Yes, definitely.
So we're a pretty small team still.
We have, you know, a character artist.
We have a map designer.
We have a couple of senior developers that work heavily in the game.
The leader of our clan is Chris Gotts, Forgeable Sum.
You've spoken to him on Discord.
He leads our project and he's really passionate about pushing browser gaming forward.
And so, yeah, I mean, our team has experience building games.
They come from, you know, AddictingGames.com, which has made games for over 20 years.
And, you know, they've all had their own projects as well before EV.io.
AddictingGames.com.
I feel like that was around back in, like, the eBombs world days.
FunnyJump.com.
It's a household day.
Did you mention eBombs world?
Oh, my God.
What did we get all about?
I'm sorry.
I had to mention that.
We need to bring those back.
Web3 eBombs world.
Web3Funny.com.
That's a really cool.
That's wild.
So there's history there.
Now, tell us specifically about EV.io.
When did the game officially launch?
And for anyone who is unfamiliar with the game, what's it all about?
Yeah, so the game has been around for a little bit over a year.
I think two years in the making, we added NFTs last year.
And since we've added NFTs, we've really kind of exploded in the space.
When they first started this game and created this game, accessibility was huge on their mind.
It was always about, let's try to make this first-person shooter work on almost any device.
So they took the cheapest Chromebook and used that as a benchmark.
And because of that accessibility, because of prioritizing accessibility, once we added NFTs and grew in the Web3 space, it really helped.
Because our game can work on almost any device.
And not everybody can afford an expensive computer or gaming machine.
So it's crazy because we're working with guilds and orgs in different pockets of the world that I don't think, at least for me, I didn't expect to be working with them.
We have guilds in Africa.
We have guilds in Southeast Asia.
Just everywhere.
And it's because we've allowed them a seat at the table.
Some of these people don't have machines.
They can't play AAA games.
But they can play EVIO and have a great time.
And, yeah, I mean, well, I mean, I guess I should have started by saying that we're a first-person shooter.
We built a first-person shooter that's on Solana.
And it's completely free to play.
NFTs are optional.
It's not forced down anybody's throats.
If you enjoy the game enough, you can buy a skin, which is in the form of an NFT.
And we love that.
We love giving, you know, power to the players.
If you buy something from us, I feel like it should go to your wallet.
It should, you know, go to you and you should decide what you want to do with it.
And that's, you know, something that I think the community can really stand behind.
Yeah, I suppose adding to that as well, David, you know, players, it does reach out to all kinds of players.
And it isn't that people just need to buy NFTs to get involved.
There's a really simple lending system as well.
So anyone can join.
All they have to do, normally through Discord, they can just request or even in-game,
has anyone got any skins to lend?
And someone like myself or some of the other lenders would reach out.
And there's no fee for people lending.
There's just kind of a profit split.
So the most that a scholar can get is 60%.
So they will instantly get 60% of that NFT.
And the lender gets 40%.
So really simple to arrange.
You know, someone can come on there and within a minute, they've got a complete set of skins.
So really accessible.
Oh, that sounds really cool.
All right.
I love that there is quite a focus on accessibility for you all.
The game is browser-based, right?
So you can play it in Brave, for example.
For those that haven't tried, you know, open up a browser, preferably a Brave one, and type in four letters, ev.io.
And you either click to play if you're on a desktop device or you tap to play if you're on your phone.
Our game is best played on a desktop device and a mouse and keyboard.
It's super competitive, but it can also be, you know, a hyper-casual experience as well.
So lots of modes.
I think there's like nine game modes that we have, 35 plus maps, you know, lots of movement abilities, lots of depth to the game.
If you enjoy it, then you'll figure it out.
That's awesome.
Yeah, I also have the focus on player empowerment and customization, you know, allowing them to tailor their experience with skins and NFTs and all of that being optional.
So maybe help us paint a picture for some of us who aren't like big gamers like myself.
Are there any web 2 games that ev.io resembles in appearance or experience or really is it something like totally new that we've never seen before?
Well, I mean, we take heavy influence from games like, you know, Destiny and Halo.
A lot of the devs grew up on these types of games.
But what's really interesting, too, is that we really do build in the open.
There's almost nothing that gets added to the game without some community involvement, right?
So we really listen to the community and based off feedback, we add stuff and we've created EVIO based on that.
And I really love that because, you know, back in the day, I used to spend so much time in all of these games like Call of Duty.
I was like on the leaderboard for years in a specific mode called gunfight.
I love that mode.
And I mean, for years, you'd go there and you'd see my name on the top 10 list.
But I never got a hello from the devs, right?
I never got to know anybody from Activision.
Nobody invited me to play in tournaments.
No one cared about my input, right?
Who knows if it would even help?
But, you know, definitely didn't feel appreciated.
And so now that, you know, we're in this position where we can kind of provide players what I couldn't have, you know, we really, really listen.
And, yeah, I mean, I think that we have a great, strong community for it because people feel like they're a part of it.
Oh, yeah, I bet.
So you guys use community feedback to kind of build and alter the course of the game as you continue to develop.
That is so cool.
So can you tell us about the process of, you know, gathering feedback from the community and incorporating it?
Like, what does that whole thing look like?
Is this done usually through Discord or, you know, on Twitter?
Or how does that work?
Yeah, definitely.
So it doesn't really work like a DAO.
Like, we don't base everything off of votes.
Like, there definitely is a leader.
And that's our team.
We have, you know, they have the experience.
They've got the vision.
But, you know, they also listen to the community and make sure that's what they want.
If they want to implement something, they'll probably put up a poll in Discord or just have conversations in Discord.
And that usually grows into, you know, us adding that to the roadmap or implementing that into the game.
And off the top of your head, like, what are some interesting additions that you all have incorporated into the game based on really good community feedback?
Yeah, definitely.
I mean, you know, for instance, damage off of the weapons, that's always being adjusted on the go, right?
If people are feeling like this gun is more powerful than the other, then we basically are able to get in there and change things on the fly.
The way they've created the game is really cool, too.
They can change that without resetting the servers.
And, you know, for instance, people wanted a different mode.
They like Search and Destroy from Call of Duty.
They like Valorance.
It's a very popular game mode.
People seem to want it.
And so they took the time and they created Search and Destroy.
You know, I mean, for instance, impulse grenades and the movement abilities that we have in the game, same thing.
So it wouldn't have been added if the community didn't want that.
You know, less likely that it would be added without the community's feedback.
That's fantastic.
I'm going to pause here and see if anyone else on the panel has questions.
I have a bunch, but I'm going to make room for some of your voices.
Go ahead, Drew.
I'll hop in then.
So, you know, I know Balik there had mentioned, you know, that you can have skins and you can rent those out and things like that.
So how, you know, and then isn't there like a, I guess, a play to earn aspect to the game?
And if you can add, can you tell us a little bit about the play to earn stuff and then I guess we can get into the rental stuff.
Definitely.
So kind of like bat, you know, yours is kind of like a browse to earn situation, right?
You watch some ads, you get some bats, I guess, on the surface.
And for our game, it's quite similar.
You shoot and you earn.
You kill to earn.
The way that it works for us, I think, is really sustainable, right?
We don't have a token.
We don't have a native token.
We don't have to hope and pray that, you know, people speculate on our coin in order for people to earn.
The earnings come from ads and sponsors, custom maps, custom skins.
The way I see it, the devs, they work on the game.
We try to build a great game and the players play the game.
As long as people are playing the game, there are reasons for people to want to advertise to those players.
And the way we see it is, you know, without the players, we wouldn't have that.
And so we share it back with the players.
And it works very similar to like a credit card reward system.
Very cool.
So basically, is it based on the kills or if you win the game or how does that work?
So when you play the game, you earn E for every kill.
And there's multiple factors as to how much you earn per match.
And that depends on multipliers.
Like if you get, you'll get more points if you get a sword kill or a sticky grenade kill or a double kill, quad kill, right?
The more things that you do in the game, the more that you can earn.
And basically, you earn from this pot that's basically contributed by these sponsors, right?
We have this pot that players can earn from, which is, you know, filled by advertiser sponsors.
And, you know, if with an NFT equipped, you can earn a share from that pot.
That's cool.
So basically, people can kind of, I guess, fulfill their like hired hitman fantasies out on this game, huh?
Definitely.
Definitely.
Look, I don't like to, you know, I try to avoid conversations about earning, right?
Because I don't want to try to attract people through earning as the only reason why you want to play the game.
Earning is very attractive to a lot of people.
I understand that.
But, you know, we have so many verticals and so many reasons to play the game that I feel like once they learn that there's, wait, this play to earn is here?
I can earn money while I'm playing this game?
It's such a good bonus, right?
But I don't, you know, I don't see it as a job replacement.
I don't see it as an investment scheme.
It's just a way for us to reward players and not lock, you know, the economy, right?
So normally in a normal game, you can earn points for doing certain things, but it's usually the value is usually locked in the game.
Here, you can choose to use it in the game if you want.
You can get a skin, right?
You can put it back in the game.
Or if you decide that you want to pay your rents or do something else with the money, you can extract it out.
That's awesome, man.
Sorry, yeah, I was just going to say, yeah, for the earning side of things, yeah.
So, you know, as David said, you've got the NFTs and you can equip up to three.
So there's earnings for each.
So it will be a sword, a character, and then a weapon.
So that kind of is what your earnings are based on.
But, yeah, people play this just for the fun of the game as well, though.
You know, one of the recent additions that's been made is some shaders.
So you have kind of, like, themed shaders that you can apply to your skin.
So you might have a skin that's a rare skin.
So there might be quite a few of them in circulation.
However, you can apply one of these shaders.
And in each specific shader, so say there's one called Shadow, there are 25 variants of that.
So you can take that and apply it, and it just makes your NFT unique.
And, you know, I'm a huge fan of them, love them.
You know, I've got, like, a witch character that's normally purple.
It's, like, yellow and red, really gearish.
I love it.
So, yeah, that kind of thing is really taking off as well.
Yeah, that's awesome.
Yeah, I love that there's, you know, it's more dynamic and more to it than just earning it, which I think is a good point.
Actually, it's how I feel about Brave because, you know, there's a lot more to it.
And actually, a lot of people don't even earn using Brave, you know, with the privacy stuff that they have and make things faster and quicker and other kind of add-ons and stuff because it just makes it awesome.
And so, yeah, for that point, I agree that, you know, just the earned part isn't enough to really do it.
It's just, like, an added bonus.
So, yeah, thanks for answering those questions for me.
Yeah, true.
I have a question that might be a little bit more for David.
Can you talk a little bit more about your sponsors and your sponsorships?
So it sounds like, from what you mentioned, sponsors will, you know, put up a sum or they'll contribute to, you know, the game prize pool.
So what do the sponsors get out of their sponsorship?
You might have mentioned or touched on it a little bit, but, you know, do they get in-game exposure?
What's in it for them?
Yeah, so it's the in-game exposure.
It's the impressions, right?
So we have tons of players playing the game.
Unlike a lot of games in this space, I think we have, yeah, a pretty active community.
We have an active comp community, great for, you know, creating highlight stories and clips.
We have a strong, you know, player community that some that care about crypto and some that don't.
But because of the active player base, advertisers, brands, sponsors are interested in, you know, advertising to those players.
And so we have in-game billboards that we sell.
We do custom branded maps for people.
We've done a Hut 8 custom map.
We've done a Fractal custom map.
We've done tons of different skins with different organizations from Web3 and Web2.
Something we really love to do is connect with Web2, you know, esports organizations as well,
because our game's known to be competitive, which is kind of insane because, you know,
I don't think browser games are known to be very competitive.
But we're building in a time that's completely different than any other time.
Browsers used to have so many restrictions, and I think those restrictions are starting to be lifted, right,
which allows our devs and other devs to do things they weren't able to before.
Just recently, I think there was something about WebGPU, which allows games like Fortnite and Call of Duty,
AAA games be in the browser, right?
They can access 100% of your GPU, your video RAM, which is something that, you know,
I don't think you could do before.
Basically, I see browsers as a game client now.
And so there's so many things that you could do.
And, yeah, it's good.
I mean, you're basically selling it for me, you know, for browser-based games.
I mean, everybody should be using Brave.
I mean, Brave blocks all of the nasty stuff that slows down your page load times.
You get, you know, faster experience.
You get better performance.
And then, you know, David helped sell the rest there.
So thanks for that.
And actually, you know, I should have mentioned,
we have an ongoing collaboration with Brave and the community loves it because a lot of people are like,
wait, I'm already using Brave, you know?
Thank you so much for, you know, this collaboration because it basically,
they're able to earn more now if they play in a Brave browser, which they're already doing, right?
So I think that's great.
Oh, that's awesome.
Actually, could you share a little bit more about that?
Because I think Nikki on our team helped, you know, formalize this collaboration,
but she isn't here today.
So maybe you can tell us a little bit more about how we're working with that.
I heard Nikki was sick.
I hope she's okay.
And, yeah, so currently we have a collaboration going on right now.
For those that don't know, there's a 50% earnings boost because of what Brave did.
Brave injected some money into our player pots, which is the pot that players earn from.
And based on how many sponsors we have during that period, the global earn rates will be,
you know, 1x or 2x or 3x or 4x or, you know, the more sponsors we have,
the more the global earn rate can be, the higher it can be.
And, yeah, because of this collaboration, the players that are earning in the game,
they get a 50% earnings boost from now until December.
Basically from now until the rest of the year.
And if you play in a Brave browser, you get a 10% earnings boost.
So it's definitely something that people love.
And those that don't know about Brave are now learning about Brave.
And those that use Brave are even happier with, you know,
EVIO and Brave because of this collaboration.
That's really cool.
I did not know that.
All right.
So if you play the game through Brave, you get an earnings boost.
And then if you're playing the game through Brave and you're earning more,
plus you enable Brave rewards, you can be earning for seeing privacy-respecting ads
at the same time, earning stacking.
That's why.
It really just, it's meant to be.
It really is.
We love this collaboration.
Well, hopefully the ads don't pop up mid-game when you're, you know,
playing and you get an ad that makes you lose the game or something.
Not at all.
Not at all.
We don't have those kinds of ads.
It's, if you have an NFT equipped, you won't see any of those types of ads,
especially you have in-game billboards that are in your face.
It's not, it feels like it's part of the game, which is great.
I mean, I guess the Brave ads too.
Well, the Brave ads are, the push notification ads are pretty non-invasive.
They just come up as a system notification,
but you could also just put your system on do not disturb while you're playing.
So they, just to make sure that they don't pop up.
If you're playing full screen, it won't show up either.
So you should be.
That's, that's a great point.
Full screen mode.
They won't come up.
Hey, Luke.
Well, that's, that's good to know.
Thanks again.
I've been stoked to listen in on this one.
I'm severely jet lagged, so I'm just going to fly on the wall, but,
but appreciate y'all doing this.
It's super cool.
Question for you guys.
Can you play in teams on EVIO?
Oh yeah, absolutely.
So we have nine game modes, right?
There's a lot of people don't know.
You jump in and you just ride into the game and you think that's all there is.
But if you spend some time to go into the menu, you'll see there are abilities.
There are tons of different guns that you can start off with.
Um, you can, you know, create a private match.
You can create a party, play with your friends.
Um, we have PVP modes.
We have PVE modes.
Um, some of the really popular ones are the ones that you just mentioned.
Um, team death match where you can, you know, play against it's four V four when you,
when you jump into the rotation, but you can create your own lobby and play with your
friends, like one V one, two V two, five V five, if you want.
I mean, um, that's, that's just team death match.
And then there's death match and sniper shotgun.
There's battle Royale.
We have search and destroy.
Um, and, uh, you know, there's just lots of game modes.
Our newest game mode.
I forgot to mention.
We just actually started a, um, uh, we, we launched a new game mode a few months ago.
It's called snipe the streamer.
And I think it's freaking awesome.
Basically it allows, it's an alternative to marbles.
Streamers love to use, you know, engagement games to be able to engage with their community.
Um, you know, marbles is a good one.
You, you basically everyone in chats, you know, is, is a marble and then you watch it
go down this little thing and whoever gets to the finish line first wins.
But the, the players and the people in chat aren't actually involved.
They just see their name go across the screen.
Um, with evie.io, if you start a, a snipe the streamer match, um, the streamer gets a
health boost, a health bonus, um, utility bonus.
Um, and then you have a link that you can share with the chat.
And so your viewers are able to join your game, right?
Without any downloads because our game is accessible.
There's no downloads.
There's no wallet required.
There's no registration required.
Super easy.
Click on a link and you're in the game.
So you can gang up as, as viewers and, and try to beat the streamer.
So it's a great way to, you know, streamer for streamers to, to give away rewards or just
to have a good time with the people that are supporting them and watching them.
So I'm really, really happy about that game mode, but there's tons.
Oh, wait, that's an interesting mode.
So am I getting this right?
The streamer is the one actually playing the game in that mode.
And then you've got all these viewers ganging up in the chat and they, you know, can have
influence over the game, but they're not actually playing.
Not at all.
They actually jump into the game.
So right now, if you open up a browser and you type in eb.io, you're in the game.
So same concept, when you click on the streamer's link, right.
You get, you get put into a queue, depending on how many hundreds of people that are watching,
you get put into a queue.
Everybody gets three lives.
And then once you lose, you get dropped out back in the lobby and you're back in the queue
where you can watch the game.
So it's a, it's an awesome engagement tool because nobody has to download the game.
Nobody has to be worried.
Well, you know, do I have to create a wallet?
Do I have to have an NFT?
You know, do I have to have a computer that can run this?
No, everyone can join.
You just have to click on that link and you're in the game with your streamer.
I've got to say as well, I, uh, I quickly popped on on my, uh, work laptop, which is
like a, a, an Apple one.
Speaking of teams and stuff, I think Balik and Belladon play with a team that's pretty
highly ranked.
Is that right?
So, um, I've not been involved in many, but there's, um, there is, uh, the e-sports kind
of scene as well.
So there's, uh, I know that the clan that myself and Belladon are from, um, they, uh,
uh, Advent, um, they regularly take part in, um, competition.
So, um, sites like Blooming do a two versus two competition.
So we've got some really competitive players like Mandarinov, um, Kanji White, who's, uh,
listening today, uh, Metadone and I don't know.
Um, so they regularly play those as well.
So there's kind of branches off of that.
So yeah, it's, it's definitely something, um, I want to get involved with myself.
Just got to, um, work on my skills a little bit first.
Um, yeah, it does, uh, it does work on, uh, any laptop as well.
Cause working on my, uh, work laptop, which is like really low spec.
So it's good.
All right.
So if we're late for any meetings, we know what he's up to.
It's like, it's, it's kind of like an arena shooter, isn't it?
The weapons are on the floor.
Isn't like Cod where you start with them.
Actually you start with a weapon.
You can choose between a sniper or a laser rifle, um, you know,
a deagle type rifle, um, or gun.
You can auto rifle, burst rifle.
Um, you choose what you're comfortable using.
Um, and the damage is very, very balanced.
You know, when we watch tournaments, we'll see people use all types of weapons.
And so we know it's quite balanced.
And if it's not, it's constantly changing on, on our backend.
Um, but, uh, there's pickup weapons as well.
And so the purpose of these pickup weapons is that they're a little bit stronger than
what you start off with.
And what you want to do is you want to move around the map.
So the purpose of that is so that people don't stay in one spot and camp.
They're kind of incentivized to move around the maps and find these stronger weapons and
then collect those because, you know, they have more damage.
They deal more damage and everybody can have access to it.
So I have a more personal question, not so much as directly for the demon project, but
more of beliefs for the future of what a web tree gaming might hold for us.
Uh, do you think that a web tree gaming will substitute in any way web to gaming or
even a games that should be required to download, or do you think it was just
occupied some space like mobile gaming, uh, did in 2013, 2012, 2014?
I, I, I know, I don't know.
It's a, that's a deep one.
It's a, to be honest, I think we'll, there will become a day where we don't talk about
web three gaming and web two gaming is just game.
Um, for us, you know, people, some people look at it as a, as a web two project.
Some people will look at it as a web three, it just depends on how you got introduced
to our game.
There are so many verticals as to why you want to engage in our game and there's no
wrong reason, right?
You could want to get into our game because you want to speculate.
You could want to get in our game because you like shooters.
Um, you know, so I don't think it's quite fair to call us either a web two or web three
We're just a game.
That's what we focus on.
Try to make a fun game.
One that works and that people can enjoy.
Hi, can you hear?
I can hear.
I thought where it went down was just a bit awkward.
No, uh, we might be having a, Twitter spaces might be having a little.
Oh, I can see if you don't, I always trying to speak up, but I, I, I don't have a sound
input, uh, at least for my end.
I don't know.
Jenny, do you have sound input from your end?
I think there's a delay in the audio.
Um, that's why there's a degree of us speaking over each other and it.
Yeah, I don't, I think that it might be on me.
I don't have sound input.
I don't know if you guys can hear me.
Um, I think there's an audio delay and, um, yeah, it's resulting in people speaking over
one another a little bit.
Um, I can hear everybody for my, I think just keep going.
Don't worry about it.
No, totally not worried.
Just, uh, making sure everyone's okay.
All right.
So, you know, we mentioned this at the beginning of the call, but, um, so we actually, EVNIO
and Brave were both at, um, 3XP's Web3 Gaming Expo about a week and a half ago, and we actually
shared a booth.
Um, David, can you tell us about what that experience was like for EVIO?
Yeah, it was good.
I mean, for myself, I really liked being able to put, you know, names to faces because there's
so many people that we've worked with, um, for so long and I only know them as their avatars.
Um, and so to be there and, and see that they're human and I can actually touch them and they're
real, um, that was kind of cool.
Um, and then also, you know, to see all of these amazing builders that are just super inspired
about what they're doing all under one roof just made me more inspired about what I'm doing.
So it's really good.
Did you guys also win a competition?
Um, at 3XP or, hmm, did I make that up?
I think, um, no, no, I don't think we, we, we won any, uh, well, we were known, we were
recognized as the only game that had two, um, segments on the main stage.
I don't know if that's a, you know, uh, winning anything though.
But didn't the, uh, didn't the X-Board guys do a competition or win the competition?
Ah, yeah, yeah, yes, yes.
So X-Board, um, is a team, um, that, that, uh, plays ev.io.
We flew in three of our best players and the, they, they were competing in a series in a
ultimate championship series through X-Board, um, which happens to have landed on the same
day as, as, you know, 3XP.
So they competed at 3XP and they won, which is super cool because actually there's, there's
a story there, um, you know, one of the players was accused of cheating just a few weeks before
at another, in another league and, you know, videos were being passed around and people
were almost certain that this person was cheating.
Um, we knew that, you know, this event was around the corner.
They didn't disqualify him, gave him a chance to play here.
And, you know, they, they started off pretty bad.
They, they, they started off without any points.
Um, they were down, they used equipments that wasn't theirs.
They brought their own monitors and peripherals, but since it was sponsored by somebody, they
couldn't use it.
Um, and so, you know, they were stressed, their back was against the wall.
Um, they couldn't use their own equipments.
They were down, but they came back.
So it was amazing to watch.
It was really cool.
Um, and to see just how good they are up close and personal, it's just insane.
These guys spend so much time in the game.
One of them, big boy, he's at 400 something thousand kills in the game.
It's insane.
300 something plus days consecutively that he's played in EVIO.
Um, and I think that's part of the reason why our game is so great is because we have
great players that are playing the game and they, they provide feedback.
Like they really provide great feedback.
That's crazy.
What's like the average number of kills that, you know, typical players will have casual
players just, just for some, you know, context.
Nowhere near the 400,000, I think.
I mean, for me, a couple thousand maybe.
And I spend, you know, tons of time in the game.
So, you know, I mean, at their level, they almost don't even, the fact that they're at
an event using equipment that's not theirs, that they're not used to and almost not missing
any shots is just insane.
So, yeah, the games are like four minutes long.
So, um, you know, your average player probably gets, uh, yeah, 25, 30 kills in a game, but
someone like BitBoy, that's, that's a lot higher.
I think you posted some of that 75 kills in a single game the other day.
So, yeah, there's, there's levels to this.
There are definitely levels.
I thought I was good at games and then I played these guys and I almost want to give
them, but, uh, they are really good.
They spend tons of time in the game and they understand so many aspects of it.
And they think, you know, 10 steps ahead of, you know, the average player.
It's, it's really, it's really cool to watch.
And, and that, that, that, that actually is another thing that truly inspires me to see,
you know, the level of gameplay and the level of interest in how much people are putting
time, um, into our game, you know, that's, that's why I believe that we should just remove
these, these barriers and, and not just pigeonhole ourselves to just a web two game or a web three
We're just a game, you know?
I mean, um, I just, I, I didn't, this is the first time I've seen teams develop in a
way that they have around a game in web three.
Um, most web three projects are still trying to find users, right?
We have the users, but more than that, we have people building teams, providing resources.
XBORG has a road manager that follows them to land tournaments.
I mean, they've got contracted players providing players with opportunities in the space and, um,
and doing everything that, that we saw happen with e-sports and web two.
So yeah, this is definitely happening now, happening now in web three and with, you know,
e-sports kind of struggling in the web two space right now, I feel like it's just
a matter of time before we see more organizations and more professional players move into this
It sounds like you guys have done a really good job at, um, you know, getting some really
involved, um, hardcore players, you know, and that is in part due to your accessibility,
the game's accessibility, but also, um, probably due to your receptiveness to community, right?
And, and the degree to which your team engages with your community.
Um, it's amazing.
Um, I came across an article earlier when I was researching you all that Decrypt wrote,
um, or was published, published on Decrypt a couple of weeks back about how you were giving
out, uh, billions of bonk tokens in game.
Um, can you tell us a little bit about that event and whether it's on?
Yeah, definitely.
That was a fun one, especially during meme season.
I think the timing was really good with that one.
Um, but, uh, I mean, we've always kind of bonk was on a radar because during the old FTX
situation, bonk kind of revived Solana for a little while.
And I thought that was super funny.
Um, they're part of our history now.
You can almost, you know, at least in Solana, they're, they're part of history.
They're part of the conversations.
And so we, we really wanted to work with them.
We reached out to some people, got a connection and we found a way to, um, yeah, create a skin
where if you equip this skin, um, you can find bonk that is randomly spawning across the
So you basically play the game and if you find a bonk token, as long as your wallet is
connected and you're wearing a bonk skin, then you just walk up to it.
And, and, you know, that, that amount of bonk will, will drop right into your wallet.
Um, it's, it's one of many, you know, collaborations that we have like that.
We actually have tons of really cool mechanics that other projects would love to use.
Like, um, one, one of one mechanic that I love is, um, you know, unlike a lot of projects
in this space, we don't, we don't provide whitelist to the highest bidder or, you know,
the most engaged user or the largest guild or the largest org or the biggest VC or, um,
the wallet with the most spending.
We, we try to make it fair.
We drop whitelist tokens in our game.
So if you play the game, you have a fair chance, just like everyone else to be able to find
a whitelist token.
And, um, so we reward players who play the game and not people who are spending the big
bucks, right?
Of course we value them, but we try to be as fair as possible.
And, and games are recognizing that mechanic as a way to like, whoa, that's a way for
us to, you know, um, introduce what we're building to that community.
So lots of people are interested in it.
We actually don't know if I should say this, but super happy about this one.
Here's some alpha.
We have collaborated with a really, really popular 1990s collectible brand, and we're
going to drop their tokens in our game.
And, and, you know, they've seen what we did with Bonk and they were happy with that.
And they want to do that for themselves too.
So I think this is something that we're going to be doing a lot, a lot of.
When can we expect that collab to drop?
You'll just have to wait and see, follow the Twitter, play EVIO and, uh, you know, watch
for the announcements.
It should come probably within a month or so.
Oh, that's so exciting.
I love anything nineties.
So I will definitely be following along.
And it's cool that they, they, so they reached out to you, right?
When they heard about all the other stuff that you guys were doing.
Well, I mean, they've always been on our radar.
We, we know who we've wanted to work with for a lot of, you know, there's, there's people
that it's on our radar.
We've been on other people's radars.
And, you know, as we, we, we announced these collaborations, um, yeah, people reach out
and say, Hey, how can we do something similar to that?
So it's really great.
Very cool.
I don't know if I asked this earlier, but, um, how many players does your platform currently
It's gone down a bit.
It's we're, we're averaging, I think 600,000 or 700,000, but it, it's no surprise.
It usually happens during summer.
Summers are slow as season because a lot of our players are, you know, playing the game
in between meetings and in between homework and in class.
Um, so during the summer, people are touching grass usually, and it does affect the player
count a little bit, but, um, this summer is still higher than last summer.
So I think we're still on a growth trajectory.
What you said about touching grass was exactly what I was going to comment.
Everybody's out touching grass during the summer as they should be, as they should be.
But Hey, but 600,000 players, that's a lot.
I was not expecting the number to be that high.
That's pretty crazy.
And is it daily or is that?
Oh, this is monthly, monthly active users.
Our highest was in May of last year.
And we reached, that was when we had 80,000 daily.
We, we, we logged 80,000 daily active users.
Um, uh, I think, or yeah, that was when we hit a million monthly active users in May.
Holy moly.
That, that is, that is something.
Um, and, and what are some of the ways that you guys, you know, attract new players to the
platform other than let's say having a presence at conferences like 3XP?
Um, yeah, um, well, I mean, people love to say that play to earn is dead, right?
But I think, I think version one is dead, you know, because our play to earn works great.
People, people love it.
I think the difference is that we try to set the right expectations, right?
Um, and that's very important because we don't want to, there are some crazy, I'll, I'll share
one cool story, right?
Um, we just don't want that to be the narrative.
That's it.
Is that, um, there's, there's this person in Turkey, Lebanon, they were affected by the
explosion.
Um, parents lost their business.
They're going through some hardships.
Um, but, uh, you know, they found EVIO.
And so this dad, right, every single day rents a generator because they have rolling blackouts.
Like after a certain time, um, they can't use the internet or power.
Um, so the dad rents a generator three hours every day so that he can play EVIO because he's
able to take care of his family.
Um, and so there's so many stories like that in different pockets of the world that's just
super inspiring, but you know, we just, I, I try to avoid, you know, putting too much
emphasis on it because some others might see that and be like, oh, I want to see how much
I can, right?
It's very, it's very important to balance the economy and have people want to come there
to enjoy the game, right?
And want to inject money because money has to come in for it to come out too.
Um, so I think that balancing is super key.
Um, but these stories are awesome too, right?
Um, play to earn definitely is one way, one growth strategy.
It definitely works.
Um, and, uh, our partnerships, we have strong, strong partnerships with different brands,
um, organizations.
And every time that we partner with someone, whether it's a skin drop or just a map, we're
able to, you know, um, reach new communities and introduce our game to people that haven't
played before.
That's awesome.
And that, that was an insane story, by the way.
And, and did you also mention earlier that the games are about four minutes long?
I think, um, Balak might've mentioned that.
The games, uh, average, average matches is four minutes.
Um, depends on the game modes usually, but, but yeah.
So people are jumping in and out just a few matches a day, um, and some others, like the
pros, they spend, you know, hours every day.
Yeah, that's really cool.
All right.
So the game is, you know, highly accessible.
Um, you know, you've got the play to earn component that's appealing, but you try not
to focus too much on that.
It's like, it's like a bonus.
Uh, you've got your partnerships and then the games are short, bite-sized, kind of easy
to fit into little pockets in your day between meetings, recess, whenever it might be.
Oh, that's cool.
That's cool.
I'm going to have to hop in and give it a play because I haven't done so yet, but I
know we've been working with you all for a while and this sounds like a nice, you know,
way for people who are not in the gaming scene to make their transition, right?
Especially if you can just lose your browser, you know, you don't have to get a console or
install anything crazy.
You can just utilize a tool that you already have to use every day.
A lot of people tell us that, you know, they used to use aim trainers and, um, you know,
after they discovered EVIO, they stopped using aim trainers and they're, they're practicing
with EVIO.
Our games, it's an arena shooter.
So people are moving around very fast.
The time to kill is very fast.
People are flying left to right.
And so if you're trying to improve tracking, it's a great setup, right?
And so there's, you know, there's those people that are using our game to practice and
improve their skills for other games.
Um, there, you know, there's, um, people that are jumping into the game because they can't
really play anything else on the devices.
So that accessibility helped us reach so many people.
Um, and, uh, and yeah, just, I think the key really is, um, the, the team and how much
passion they have towards what they're building.
Um, because if it wasn't for that, I don't think there, there would be a community to,
to stand by, you know, EVIO.
Um, you know, I, I tell people this all the time.
It's kind of insane.
We have Monday meetings and usually what happens in Monday meetings is we talk about what we
did on the weekends.
Like, I don't think our devs even take any time off weekends is when it's super busy.
People are playing tournaments, things break, and they're always around.
Um, they're, they're always around for everything.
Um, so I think that, that, that's probably a big reason why we have the players that we
I see the team and I'm like, I get it.
You know, that's beautiful.
We love to see it.
We're about to come up on time here, but, um, I wanted to wrap up with a last question
for you all.
So, you know, you already gave us some alpha on the, um, the nineties collab that's coming
soon, but can you share more about?
Some future plans for EVIO, any features or updates that we can look forward to?
Yeah, definitely.
Um, well, we still have leveling, which is something that the community has really been
waiting on, but there's so many things to leveling there.
You know, devs are taking their time to make sure that we do that right.
Um, but there will be an, uh, an ability to level up your NFTs.
And as you, you play the game and as you level up your NFT, your NFT glows a little bit more,
looks a little bit cooler.
Um, but you know, might give you access to certain things and, um, you know, more privileges
in the game and things like that.
But, uh, that's being worked on.
Um, we still have tons of things in the roadmap, our game, um, devs left to say that, you know,
we're about five, 10% into what EVIO, um, should be.
And so we're still very early.
Um, and one of the things that we're working on right now has been, you know, net codes
trying to improve the competitive, um, well, I mean, every day they're improving stuff,
but they just upgraded.
For instance, um, all servers went to bare metal.
So we don't share servers with any other game congestions, like less of a thing lags, less
of a thing.
Um, it's always trying to create a better experience for the players, um, a, uh, you
know, better, better experience for tournaments, um, and yeah, constantly improving the game.
I know that was probably not anything specific, but yeah, we are working on this game and,
uh, you know, it's only going to get better.
That's, I guess I'll leave it at that.
That's great.
I know that it didn't need to be too specific.
That was, that was perfect.
Um, well, it sounds like you have a really dedicated team.
It sounds like you have a wonderful community.
And, um, it's been really nice sharing the space with you guys today.
So thank you so much for, uh, coming on and teaching us more about EBIO and how our community
can get involved and play everybody in the audience.
Thank you so much for tuning in and listening.
Please throw down some emoji react shower our hosts and emoji react to thank them for spending
time with us today and, uh, follow everyone in the room that you'd like to stay in touch
with, hop in the discords, bat brigade, EBIO has a discord as well.
Um, in our discord, you can get the PO app for this space and try EBIO with Brave from now
until December for earnings boosts.
I hope I got those dates right, but yeah.
Go ahead, David.
No, no, no, no, no.
You got it right.
Um, just wanted to thank the bat community, you, Drew, everybody here, um, for your time.
And, uh, yeah.
Thank you for, for all of your support and allowing us to do what we love to do.
A hundred percent.
And you guys are welcome back anytime.
I just wanted to say real quick, Dave, I, uh, I'm sitting here at my office waiting for
some new parts for, uh, you know, to put together a PC.
Uh, so I'll be gaming this weekend.
Um, maybe I'll join the bat community team and let everybody else rack up some kills this
weekend if they're playing.
So thanks for coming on, man.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
And guys, I, I, I should mention too, Fractal is having a $5,000 tournament right now.
Um, you can craft, you know, tickets to enter that match, but it happens every single month.
And so if you, if you do enjoy the game, um, and you want to practice and join, uh, uh,
a very interesting style tournament that Fractal puts together every single month, um, then
yeah, check out their sites.
There's a, there's a tournament happening monthly, um, through them and other tournaments as
So there's reasons why you would want to practice, uh, at least in our game.
Oh, that sounds awesome.
We'll pin the link for that.
Um, beneath the recording on Twitter so you guys can easily find it.
Oh, awesome.
Yeah, of course.
Thank you guys again.
This was a ton of fun and I hope everybody has a wonderful rest of the day and excellent
