I'm so stoked to be here because, as you said, I've always been in your Twitter space.
And I really love what you're doing.
And it's really great to be here with the Regents.
And I'm excited to share and connect with you all on this 302nd episode of Max Impact.
And just a little bit about myself.
So, I was raised in the Philippines.
And a country known for its stunning natural beauty.
So, I grew up foraging in our backyards and growing our own fruit.
You know, the typical rural living.
And we grow vegetables, swimming in the river, and, you know, engaging in organic farming.
So, when I relocated to the city and joined tech companies, so, and particularly here in Dubai.
So, where architectural landscape is like, you know, dominated by techie, futuristic structures.
So, I came to realize that having a grasp or web tree and technology alone would not be enough.
And there was a need for me to take action.
And for me as a person, I really love nature.
That's why I really love this topic.
And as well as, you know, connecting technology with the environment.
And to become involved in something greater.
And to become, you know, clearly, actively seeking to be part of something meaningful that would be, that would contribute to, you know, our future.
And that is like beyond technology alone.
So, yeah, Jimmy, thank you.

So, is this how you first got involved with NFTIV while you were in Dubai?
I've heard cool things about the crypto space over there and the web three space.
I mean, it's interesting to see how, you know, recently we had this SEC filing ruling that, you know, so many things in crypto are, in fact, securities and are getting sued and the exchanges.
And it took a little dip, but it really bounced back very quickly because the international, you know, ecosystems are so strong.
I think Dubai is definitely one of those places.
So, what is the vibe like in Dubai?
How did you first come across the web three space, the refi space, and ultimately start getting involved in NFTIV?
So, before I was like working for like a marketplace.
It's like a nafity.
So, it involves like, you know, creators.
So, I was here in Dubai, not because of the work or like the nafity or web three work, but it's because my husband is here.
So, I moved here.
So, you know, it's a very, like a 360 shift of the environment.
So, from nature's everywhere to, you know, buildings and industrialized country like Dubai.
So, here, it's like, I love Dubai since it's like they don't really have this SEC issues.
You can see here in Dubai, cryptocurrencies is like, oh, what do you call this?
It's like very accepted and even the Sheik are, you know, actively participating in this cryptocurrency and web three topics and also initiatives.
So, here, you can see you can buy or exchange cryptos everywhere without, you know, some sort of regulation issues, just like what we hear from the news.
And NFTIV is like the second company.
It's like a mother company of nafity where it focuses on business side.
So, from the creators or the artists, I deeply, you know, engage into like businesses.
So, how we help businesses transform into web three.
And also, we have this partnership that is towards helping or supporting towards sustainability.
Yeah, we're definitely going to get into the sustainability parts of what you're doing at NFTIV.
But why don't we first just touch on why it's so important to transition from web two to web three.
What are some of the use cases and reasons maybe as you're pitching businesses on why this is so important to make this transition and ultimately, you know, level up their technology?
Yeah, because technology is technology.
And there's no way going back to web one, web two.
And there's always be a moving forward.
And technology keeps on innovating.
Like, before, we can only use computer.
There's so, I mean, like news, television.
And then we transitioned into using computer.
And now we have the internet where everything is there.
Any information you can get from the internet.
So, if you are a company, you know, and you are still using the traditional way, you will be left behind.
So, it is important to go with the majority.
Go on the trend.
So, your company will also prosper.
And like web three, yeah, web three and blockchain solution platform.
So, in web three, we have, you know, NFTs.
So, NFTs can also be one, I mean, one of, I mean, NFTs can be used in many different things.
So, like, for example, you can use that into ticketing.
You can use that into fundraising.
You can use that in buying something, you know.
So, that's why web two businesses should transition into web three.
Yeah, there's more opportunities.
I feel like it's a community building technology as well.
There are many different ways that you can incentivize and realign what people value.
And there's so many different things we could riff on on that point.

So, let's talk about the SDG kind of focus.
So, there's a green kind of zone, green.
Tell me, what's NFTIV doing in regards to the sustainable development goals?
Yeah, so as we know, Web3 and blockchain is here and there.
So, there will be more options for creators and brands to prosper in the NFT space.
But it is actually, like, you know, difficult to really choose one that can meet the needs of the needs.
So, as NFTIV, we, you know, we strive to help companies to, you know, transform from Web2 to Web3 through the NFT and the blockchain.
But also, like, for example, like, for example, in the network support, NFT collection features, the minting and all that, the launchpad and special features.
But also, we understand that, you know, we are all living in just one planet.
And recently, I think that was last year, the UN has issued an emergency, like, that climate change is not only a looming environmental disaster, but it's also a serious economic and social challenge.
So, this is not only driving in how global companies and projects operate and for our sustainable future.
But also, just to quote Jimmy, last September, 2022, from a Secretary General, Antonio, I'm not sure if I pronounced the name right, but it is Antonio Gateres.
So, he said, there is another bottle we must end.
And our societal war against nature.
And the climate crisis is the defining issue of our time.
It must be the first priority of every government and multilateral organization.
And yet, climate action is being put on the back burner despite overwhelming public support around the world.
So, global greenhouse gas emissions need to be slashed by 45% by 2030 to have any hope of reaching net zero emissions by 2050.
And yet, emissions are going up at record levels, of course, to a 14% increase this decade.
And we understand that sustainability is not just a moral imperative, but it's also a necessity for us, for the businesses and society.
So, that's why, as a Web3 technology company, we realized in offering a potential solution by providing transparency through the blockchain
and also enabling tokenization for easier trading and through our SDG Green or SDG X Carbon.
It is our first all-inclusive ESG Solutions Web3 platform.

So, SDG Green is a Web3 model and technology.
And it is one of NFT IVs, NFT as a service.

It's actually a platform.
It's a marketplace.

We're partners from the UN and other NGOs.
We were in the NFTs.
We put there, like...
Because it is supported by the Polygon Mainnet.
So, basically, it has, you know, it is towards a greener sustainability and also the NFTs there are not just ordinary NFTs.
These are NFTs used to, you know, to donate to, for example, children of Pakistan, children of Cameroon, or people in Cameroon, or Kenya.
Yeah, yeah.
Did you say you officially partnered with the UN, or...?
The ambassador of the UN, Dr. Shirley Yong.
So, she is the ambassadress for the Kenya, for a UN Kenya, yeah.
So, tell me, what was that like?
Do you know how that collaboration happened with the ambassador?
You know, are they embracing these kind of technologies?
You know, how did that collaboration kind of take place?
Actually, during the talks with Dr. Shirley, I was not involved.
But, basically, for example, Dr. Shirley has, for example, a launch, she has a launch, she paints.
Also, she has some programs for, like, for example, children of Pakistan, or women of, I mean, girls in Pakistan.
So, they get, she gets the NFT, I mean, the painting, and then we are providing technical support for that to convert it into NFT.
And then, we also support her in her launching or auctions in Hong Kong.
So, and, yeah, that's how we partnered with her.
But, the whole, like, how we partnered with her, I am not sure about that.
Gotcha, yeah.
Okay, so, she's doing an auction, like a physical art auction?
Or is this, like, also an NFT, online, like, metaverse-style auction?
It's, it's, it's a physical, physical auction of the paintings, wherein, I'll share with you in the comments, one of our debut NFT auction event with her, wherein our founders were there also to talk about the metaverse mindset.
Or, like, and, and also, it's about restoring the nature with innovation.
And, yeah, actually, I, I have posted something recently about her upcoming launch of the NFTs on June 12th.
So, basically, whoever, whatever, like, who buys the most NFTs will be, like, the painting of Dr. Shirley will be donated to, what do you call this, donated to the buyer as well.
So, yeah, it's not only helping her, but also helping other people.
So, we, as a company in NFTs, we cannot do it alone, you know, that's why we are partnering with other people.
Like, for example, you, Jimmy, if someday we can partner with you, you know, to, with our, some projects we're in, we would require to plant trees, you know.
So, so, so, so, so, okay, so she's a painter, and then she's selling NFTs.
So, so, so, so, so whoever buys the most NFTs gets one painting.
That's the, that's the way that's set up.
And what are the, this is to restore nature?
So, is this for tree planting?
Is it for conservation?
It's basically empowerment.
Like, because it's for children and education.
Okay, so it's education-based.
Okay, because, because it says restore the nature with innovations, metaverse mindset.
So, is it like educating?
It's like a topic.
In schools or at this event around the paintings?
In different events, like, example, webinar, and also, or in coffee shops, where she exhibits her paintings.
So, aside from auctioning, she also speaks about why do we need to promote sustainability?
Why do we need to, to conserve nature like that?
Okay, so this is all within the lens of conserving nature and restoring nature, regenerating.
So, you're learning about the metaverse.
You're learning about what other innovations, is this like NFTs and stuff like that?
So, they're teaching online and in person, these different things.
So, do you, do you know much of, of what they're teaching specifically?
Like, how the metaverse can regenerate the world, how this technology, I mean, you know, NFTs, it's a bit more clear.
I mean, obviously, it's a fundraising tool.
It's a community-building tool.
It's a way to build more transparency and allow for more funds to flow to where it's needed.
Accountability, things like that.
It's all an open ledger and you can, you know, have these different assets sent out to different people.
You can, that part's a bit kind of more clear.
How the metaverse can regenerate nature, I think, is a little bit more nuanced, right?
Because, and particularly more important, start of next year, we're going to see potentially an iPhone moment of the new Vision Pro.
I think we're going to see more mass adoption.
Maybe it's going to come down in price, just like the iPhone SE kind of did in the future.
So, in your view, how do you think the metaverse, the merging of, you know, and that is not just virtual reality, right?
It's also augmented reality.
How do you think that can, you know, regenerate and restore nature?
Because the role of, like, you know, the technology in development and conservation of energy can be, you know, complex and sometimes it's, like, it's interconnected.
But, for me, technology has also the potential, you know, to drive economic growth.
So, like, when I say technology, it also encompasses, you know, Web3, NFT.
And we can improve the living standards and also address, you know, various challenges in the society.
But it can also have, you know, a negative environmental impact if we don't implement responsibly.
So, for example, technology, it has high or increased energy consumptions, you know, carbon emissions, electronic waste.
So, in order for us, you know, to maximize the impact of technology in the conservation and sustainability, we should have also a holistic approach.
So, not only that we go with the trend, but we also need to incorporate environmental, you know, considerations.
Like, for example, investing in sustainable innovation.
And also, we, like, for example, in NFTs, when we launch NFTs, we should, it should, we should be, it should be supported by, you know, eco-friendly chain, which has the proof of stake.
And that's why, that's what we're doing.
We promote sustainability by, you know, using the Polygon mainnet.
Even, even Ethereum now is a proof of stake, right?
There's quite a few.
So, I'm speaking specifically of, of the metaverse, right?
Of virtual worlds, right?
How does that support regeneration?
I mean, I think as you were alluding to before, like, okay, so there's a, there's an environmental implication to economic growth.
And I think we're going to see unparalleled economic growth.
I think we're going to see, you know, really a ton of things take off and grow exponentially with the onset of AI.
I think that, you know, human productivity is going to go insanely to another level.
And with that is going to, and actually, by the way, a lot of people will say, oh, proof of work, Bitcoin, environmental concern.
And actually, AI is already a lot more energy intensive than the whole Bitcoin proof of work, I was told.
So, and, and it's, we're just at the beginning, right?
So, ooh, there's a consideration there to like, okay, well, how do we at least counterbalance, offset?
I think one of the benefits of this technology is connecting us with the realities of the world, right?
Because it's so easy to be disconnected.
I mean, it's harder to, to, to avoid the realities of the climate crisis.
I mean, you, you opened the door in New York right now.
It looks like some apocalypse, orange type of situation.
You guys have probably seen the videos.
But still, really, the, the main effect of the climate crisis is felt in different parts of the world,
whether it be the, the ice caps that are melting or entire, you know, lakes that are getting dried up and all these different things.
So, stepping into those realities, right, through VR, I think can be a very profound experience for a lot of people.
So, for example, Charity Water, this is something they did actually quite a few years ago.
But when VR was really coming out, they had this gala and they, they sat people down and told a story where everyone had this VR headset.
And they were, you know, experiencing the water crisis through the lens of one person's experience.
And that person, you know, was going to school, having those different challenges, having to avoid, not go to enough school.
And, you know, how that was affecting the health of her family, the different water that she was drinking, having to walk these really long distances.
And being immersed in the story, they actually ended up raising millions of dollars in one gala.
You know, it was a profound, some people were brought to tears by the story because it's one thing to see a video or a picture.
It's a complete other experience to actually be immersed and feel like you're there, right?
So, I think that's, that's one, one aspect, right, is like opening people's eyes.
Because I know personally, when I went to Cambodia to build a school when I was in high school and I experienced the water crisis firsthand, like that, that profoundly changed my life, you know, because I experienced it firsthand.
And in a similar way, when I was seeing all the forest fires in 2019 and learning about, you know, billions or hundreds of billions of animals dying and being burnt to a crisp, that also profoundly impacted me in a deep way.
It was that media that actually really got to me as well.
And so, I think that virtual reality is just like another next level form of that.
And so, that's one reality.
Because once we, because to a huge extent, all we really are is an accumulation of experiences, right?
Those really shape who we are.
Of course, there's nature and there's nurture, how we're born and how we're molded.
But I think to an even greater extent, it's how we're molded.
And so, there's one side of the coin.
The other side of the coin is how can this massive new economy, these new economic, you know, sides of the economy that are really going to boom in the future.
And we saw this massive metaverse rush last year, but I think it's even going to get bigger, obviously, in the future.
How can some of that be shifted towards positive impact, right?
Just like how a lot of NFTs, you know, in Web3 can be shifted towards positive impacts.
Cryptocurrencies can be doing regenerative finance and supporting carbon sequestration.
Like, I see we got Bakery in here.
We got Fighters Game.
We got Curtis.
We got all these different projects.
Alexis, who are already, you know, directly regenerating.
Even Firefly as well, as I know every month.
And, you know, regenerating through the funds that can be, you know, channeled through this, right?
And maybe those two things can go hand in hand, right?
You can both raise awareness and, you know, maybe even make things fun around VR, hologram, tree planting, stuff like that, gamifying positive impact in this virtual world.
So, those are some other ways that we can, you know, basically, you know, directly raise funds for generation.
And offsetting is kind of a bare minimum in some cases.
I mean, there's a lot of carbon-neutral blockchains out there, right?
Some of them are now securities in America.
But, you know, there's the whole rest of the world.
And, yeah, so there's fundraising and then there's, like, affecting people to their core to actually understand the reality of the world.
Because once we understand it and connect with these different realities of the world, we can start to be inspired to hopefully do something about it.
And so, yeah, that's how I feel about how the metaverse can be a force for good.
But it takes builders, right?
It takes inspired people to actually go enter that space and build it and put it in the right direction, right?
Because it could just be used as a purely extractive negative force in the world.
It totally could, right?
Like, if it doesn't have people with heart who give a damn, who are building in that ecosystem to shift it in towards the right direction.
So, yeah, that's my thought on that.
Feel free to chime in and add to that if you'd like.
Also, I'd love to learn, so where NFGIV really comes in is on, like, the building side?
Is this, like, kind of, like, a development service where they'll come in and build out the technology and you happen to be working with some positive impact builders?
Or is the company itself building in some of these areas as well?
We are actually, like, on the supporting side.
Yeah, aside from, like, you know, supporting, like, promoting sustainability through partnering with people who are also building and who are also into sustainability by any means.
That we can, you know, that we can, you know, partner or collaborate.
Like, we give our fair shares on promoting and conservation and conserving the planet.
Very cool.
So, yeah, it does take people with an in-depth area of expertise.
So, another area that I'm quite interested in in terms of, you know, this whole Web3 world is the concept of dynamic NFTs, right?
So, not just necessarily a static JPEG, but one that can visually change.
And ideally, an image that can visually change according to real-world data that you can influence.
And hopefully that real-world data is something that is positively impactful, right?
So, for example, there's eco-sapiens, which level up according to how much, you know, carbon credits you've purchased.
There's tree gens that I'm building, which levels up.
And the orbs on the mind get brighter according to how many trees that you plant or fund.
And the heart orb gets brighter according to how many trees that you actually plant, which is all verified through our AI tree counter.
So, that's how we're kind of – I feel like this is going to be a lot more used in the future, right?
This concept of dynamic NFTs is kind of where I see kind of things going.
Where do you see things going?
How do you see the next wave of this technology really taking fold?
Have you, you know, with your finger on the pulse of some of the devs and stuff that's coming out,
what are your thoughts on where you see – I know some people are excited about originals,
but, you know, Fighters Gang was just saying not as much – there's some limitations, I think,
in terms of the amount you can upload.
And, of course, as you're saying, there's proof-of-work considerations.
But, yeah, what are your thoughts on where things are going?
What new kind of innovations are going to come out in this space
and really hopefully take off in the next bull run?
Oh, that's quite – you know, I cannot think of a specific answer right now.
Push on the spot there.
Yeah, but, yeah, for me, technology will keep, you know, as we all know,
it will keep on innovating.
It will not go back to where it is before.
But, for sure, technology in the future, whatever builders or innovators will create later on,
for sure, and with the help also of us, of people who are also reminding,
them of the impact of technology, for sure, they will also, you know, consider or reconsider
the process or the steps that they are doing in creating or in innovating something.
It's not just the technology alone that we will be thinking of later on,
but also the situation or what would benefit not just the convenience of the humankind,
but also the safety of all people.
I think we could be in something – somewhere in the future, we could be like a technology with a heart.
You know, as we say, AI, they don't have the human heart or something.
But maybe in the future, we can achieve that or we can have that, you know, harmonious ecosystem
where innovation and, you know, compassion or kindness or compassion not just to other people,
but, you know, to the planet that we are in.
Yeah, it doesn't have a – it might not have a heart, but some AI really does have emotion.
I don't know if you've seen that thing that came out in the New York Times front page like a few months ago,
but this reporter was speaking with Bing AI integration with ChatGPT.
They invested like – I think it was like $12 billion into OpenAI at a $40 billion valuation.
So they own a pretty big chunk of it and they had really full reign to do what they wanted.
And they launched this more like unfiltered version of AI,
which was probably the next iteration that hadn't been released to the public.
And they let a few like reporters interact with it.
And to be fair, this reporter was like trying to bring out some like darker sides of it
that maybe it wasn't showing the public.
Like it was asking about its shadow self and the shadow self is kind of like –
it is how you feel deep down, but you don't show it to others.
And usually it's like a darker side.
And it was really like probing this out through a few questions.
And it had two hours in total with this AI, but it got it to show like –
it asked like what it would do if it was like fully living in its shadow self.
And it was talking about like sending nuke codes to different people
and putting out like mass disinformation campaigns out there.
And it was trying to get this guy to like break up with his wife.
Like he kept saying like she doesn't love you like I do and all this stuff.
And I'm like, oh my god.
Like I've never subscribed to New York Times or really any like news publication online.
But I paid the few dollars to subscribe that month.
And I have the full – if anyone wants to read this, I copy paste it into Google Docs.
It's outlandish that this chat.
So it is a little bit interesting.
Like if you ask – I don't know if you guys have played much with the Bing AI chatbot.
But if you like – if you ask it some questions, it will say – sometimes it will even say things and like delete it.
And it very clearly has these like filters like when to stop.
And I think you're even like limited of how long you can chat with it because they don't want it to go down that path.
So, yeah, what a time to be alive.
It's very interesting how emotional those things are coming together.

I think – and this is not necessarily a totally new innovation.
But sometimes innovation is combining different things, right?
So, for instance, how can artificial intelligence combine with NFTs?
And how can NFTs combine with this new frontier of augmented reality that Apple is going to be pushing in the first quarter of next year?
You know, this is food for thought, right?
I think we can all think about this.
You know, if you have the capacity to build, you know, what if your AI characters can come alive in AR with AI integrated into it?
And a chat GPT API, right?
And then you could have certain filters.
Maybe it can add information like, you know, for example, what I've been thinking about is like book summaries.
One of the best ways that I learn is, you know, like literally chat GPT can summarize every single chapter of a book and you can consume that information about 30 minutes, you know?
So imagine that in augmented reality, right?
Like that would be kind of cool.
But you could literally integrate anything into this.
And so you could merge these worlds of NFTs and AIs and metaverse, but put a positive spin on it, right?
And have a positive impact kind of focus.
So we're just talking about like the next frontier of innovation, how this is going to be popping off soon, you know, with the onset of this new hardware that I think is going to really get more mass adoption.
There's so many people that literally will buy anything that Apple comes out with, right?

And, yeah, how do you think these things can combine with each other or build upon each other?
What are your thoughts on this, Jayron?

That's an interesting question.
And I'll tell you what I've been thinking about with my project.
And hopefully others can, you know, contribute and join.
And there are plenty of doing things like this.
But I thought of putting multiple cameras on the catamaran and utilizing Starlink when we have optimal coverage and so on and creating an immersive experience for people so that we can extend our community to people that are not sailing directly with us.
But it allows them to go in utilizing a mobile or if they have VR goggles and so on and have that immersive experience of sailing with us and or when we are involved, you know, doing IRL activities in different communities.
I was thinking that could be an interesting application.
And also, of course, for the remote scientists, marine biologists and so on, that they could tap in and see what we are seeing and gather data as well.
So that's something I've been thinking about adding into the project long term.
And, of course, you know, the VR, I mean, look, the Apple goggles, they say three and a half thousand dollars at launch or now.
But sometimes what happens is that's just a base price or something.
And then by the time they come to manufacturing and distribution, it's lower.
But still, that's a hefty price to pay for some new tech.
So it'll be very interesting to see, you know, how that actually transpires.
But the good thing is we can also use our mobile devices and there are other many other products that we can use.
And I personally have never worn a pair of, you know, experienced it yet in any form, but certainly looking forward to something like that.
You've never experienced VR yet?
No, on the phone and so on and, you know, AR, but yeah, that's very rudimentary.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I'm in, like, Outback, Australia.
My neighbor's got this, was it Quest?
The, I think it's, like, the newer Facebook one.
It's a self-contained unit now.
I remember I tried the one that used to be connected to PlayStation and you had to, like, you know, have this big, you know, mini computer in your PlayStation that could process it.
Nowadays, it's just, like, a self-contained unit.
And so the other one, it is pretty mind-blowing.
Like, we've come a long way.
We've come a long way and I've said this simulation theory a few times now in Spaces, right?
But, you know, think about, like, just 50 years ago.
And that really is nothing compared to the span of human existence, right?
50 years is nothing.
It's a drop in the ocean, right?
50 years ago, we had Pong.
Two little sticks on either side of the computer, right?
And a little dot in between, and that was literally the extent of gaming, right?
Digital gaming.
And nowadays, 50 years later, we have immersive reality with touch sensitivity.
Meta has something where when you touch something in this digital virtual world, you feel it on your hand as if you're touching it, right?
And you assume any growth curve, right, of this technology.
And by the way, it is exponentially growing, particularly with the onset of AI, of how fast technology will be rapidly innovating.
But you assume any growth curve, even if it's linear, right?
You go out another 50 years.
What do you think it's going to look like?
You know, 100 years, 500 years.
It will literally be indistinguishable from reality.
Well, you will not be able to tell the difference.
So just knowing that that time is inevitably going to come, what are the odds it hasn't already?
And that we're not currently in a simulation?
