No in the total space there is no sound
Hello and welcome everybody
There we go
Okay, hello and what oh, oh no, hey wait one we talked about this is
Hold my oh
Haha, I nailed it. This is my bad. Okay. My bad. My bad guys. Okay from the top from the top
Hello and welcome everybody to the max impact show this is the live
Podcast that is all about empowering you the changemakers to maximize your positive impact in the world
By leveraging the latest and the greatest
Technology. Okay with me today is none other than Juan. It's actually known as Juan. I made up
Juan is leaving Rifa many in with some amazing people on the ground in Colombia
He is onboarding people into web 3 into Rifa in schools planting trees
I think Pakistan's as well tapping in all these different public goods
Funding mechanisms that we're gonna get into today like optimism and giveth and get coin and all these things coming together to really empower
Real change on the ground that we love to see so we have tradition here is not your first time
So fun tell us what is your wife what gets you out of bed in the morning?
What feels needed to burn the midnight? Well, why do you do what you do? What motivates you good, sir?
What I do what I what I why I do what I do, oh my goodness
I think you guys couldn't even hear the music right? Could you guys hear this wasn't even plugged in Wow
Okay, sorry guys. It happened sometime. Yes. Why do you do what you do?
What motivates you to you know, do all the great things that one does I
Do what I do because the government is not gonna do those things so somebody needs to do that
We cannot we cannot come with the government's so that's one of the
of the motivations
Why why we do this kind of?
activities
why we want more people to be like in refi movement in ball in ball bed and
why we try to teach people how to
Avoid the traditional financial systems how to use these new ones financial systems
to leverage this financial opportunities in blockchain to
Not you to help
people to get
financial inclusion like for example
loans other
other like
In rational interest rate because the banks are liking I mean banks are
For me are like
Our other months because they they just want to steal your money
Interest is neat is needed but in a in a rational
number like for example zero point five percent amount, but if you went to
To a bank they are gonna charge you like three percent amount. So is he rational? So we need to
Teach people how to use this new
And toolkits in blockchain to
Help between them
Regenerate
Regenerate and then like the whole system not only the natural is about education is about
opportunities is about
Breaking the language barrier like for example the English language barrier is hard to break
so for example in Colombia people
Only maybe only 20% of the people now how to speak English
So it's a big language barrier. So we also want to help people to
To learn English and don't have this barrier like anymore. So that's why we do those things
Thank you for sharing man, yeah, yeah the the financial systems the the current, you know
Set up of government is clearly not gonna solve all the problems if it were, you know
It probably would have been solved by now, right so that we need these new
these new funding mechanisms these new
Technologies in order to to make the world a better place to solve the massive problems that we clearly see here today
So, how did you get introduced to these solutions to these public, you know public goods funding?
Mechanisms to web 3 to refi with your story. How'd you get here?
How do I get introduced I
Mean like nobody introduced me to the ecosystem. I just found found it by myself like digging in the
And the blockchain ecosystem just trying to
Trying to find
As well as in YouTube and internet, so I was
At the beginning I was just mining a theorem like five years ago and
So I get to know like about the theory and ecosystem and like some other
Mining coins like kaupo kaupo and random random mining coins
And so I started just like mining and
then I start to to learn more about the web 3 ecosystem and you can deploy like
Applications or I started to use like
Liquidy provider is taking some some some coins in some protocols and just learning about that
so some one day I
Found that there is a platform called give it I don't give it no good coin
And you can raise some funds. I know
I'm like like and so I was doing this this is taking and providing liquidity
But at the me at the at the same time I was working with the government
like trying to preserve forest, but
It's just like a government program and it's not it's not really working. It's just
Spending the money is spending the budget of the government get getting paid, but we have been doing nothing
so it's like
Okay, nobody's gonna do that. I always I always
Like myself I always
Care about the the nature. I'm not like the most most most like maximalist and
Conservationist but I care about the I care about the nature and about the people
so I say like okay, we need to
to do something to preserve forest because the forest and
Are gonna be throw it away by the urban expansion. So we suffer a lot of this
In Colombia and in the cities like the the nearby forest of the cities
are always like
The the farmers just put the the lands for sale and people just bought the lands
Throw away the forest and build a small village. So we suffer a lot a lot of that
A here machine and in some other parts of Colombia and I know very well about that
So I decided to start this project that called green digital organs
trying to to use the NFT technology to raise some funds to
To be able to both lands and preserve lands. So I set up like everything for the project. I started
working on the project and then
One day I found about the jit coin stuff. So I decide to list my project in jit coin and
Doing this project and
I'm promoting the project. I'm
Just talking with the people I get involved bed like naturally in the refi ecosystem. So
One day somebody asked me like hey, hey, we are doing this refi though thing. I
Have been part of refi though
Call so and all these of these things so somebody say like we are gonna open up like a
Challenge to
Start creating local nodes around the world. So I decide to to ask Teresa like hey you want to
To do this imagine
She said like, okay, yeah, I don't have like too many too much time
But we can figure out how to do it. So I decide to apply and we use a place
For refimagine and we started with the with with this project. That's the like the
Sumerize of the history
Yeah, thank you for sharing that and friends I will be playing music at the end of the space
So I was working in the video but not the spaces. Thank you for letting me know about that
Okay, so you noticed that the government was not solving the problem
They were taking their their payments in the budget, but it wasn't actually getting done
So you see the solution of web 3 is to first of all fundraise, but then to buy land
That is at risk of deforestation I assume and then conserve it
Is that the idea and and what how where are you at with that? How much do you think you're gonna need?
How yeah, how is this strategy unraveling and yeah, what's your what's your kind of roadmap for a green digital guardians
Looking like and we'll get into if I'm Eddie and of course as well
I'm about I mean, yeah
the project of
green digital guardians is to both land lands and I
Mean you asked about how much is a land it depends on
where the land is located and
What is the like the extension of the land? So
with the green digital green digital guardians, we have been raised and like I think almost
Donations and in the past rounds, so we have we have we haven't expended like any any of these
Dollars we have those dollars in the multi-sign and by the way, we just swap it this die into glow dollar
Just trying to help the glow dollar
Like people to to learn more about the global are and if we hold global are we
are we are also helping people because if you hold global are so
global are can
Take all out of the poverty some people so we decide to to swap these coins into global are
Our multi-sign until we decide to bought a land
I mean we cannot bought a land with 7k, but for example, we're familiar
or if imagine
The last optimize rate through a PDF budget. So we are waiting
to get those funds of the retro PDF and
with the refinishing we can
decide to allocate like I mean 10,000 K into a
Land put a lamp to chase that
There is one idea we have in refinishing so we can do for example a partnership
Reif imagine and green be green digital guardians with imagine can put 10k and green digital guardians can put like
5k that we have in our multi-sign
So 15k we can maybe afford to bought a land
nearby median or we can just open like a multi-sign savings wallet and
just keep
Connecting funds and we when we have like 20k or 50k, we can both a bigger land
But that that's the idea
Gotcha and is the land that you're targeting to conserve at risk of deforestation or are there any like
characteristics of the land that you're looking for
When you go to buy that I mean like we we have in
in our eyes
before like five lands we want to to purchase and protect but
Due to the the slow progress of the project
Maybe some of those lands are not available anymore. Maybe some
Someone just bought the land and there is not available for sale anymore
so we decide
like we are not going to
Have like an a specific land land in mind. We are gonna wait until we have like
Consider considerable amount of money
And we are gonna go and make the research
to find a land, but
The lands we want to preserve is
Lands that are nearby the nearby the city or maybe also inside the city
Because and
Those lands may be could be lands that
economic activity inside that for example, they don't have like
Like cows inside or they don't have like farming inside. They are just like a
Small forest so we want to both those kind of lands and protect those lands and keep those lands as a forest
Like trying to avoid people because if we don't both the lands
Somebody else can come both the land and throw away the forest and just make a building
Got you so since it's near the city that's what makes it
Like likely to have to be developed to be turned into a building in the future
And so you're specifically talking those areas where they're likely gonna encroach on the forest nearby
And therefore you can buy it and protect it now
Another problem that I don't know to what extent this is a problem in in Medellin in Colombia
But in Brazil, you know, there's a lot of illegal
Deforestation even if people buy the land with good intentions to preserve it people could just come in there illegally and chop it down
So is that a risk and if so, how would you maybe try to mitigate that?
Yeah, like there is another history about
About how green digital guardians idea comes from
It's because there is a friend done that both the land nearby Medellin like in a
Imagine that and that like we have imagine the city
One hour far away. We have come in the world. It's a small town. It's very touristic
So this friends this friend bought a land not not in in Carmen in the
It's just nearby like the dirty like a dirty road
20 20 minutes by car
He wants to preserve this land
It's a beautiful land. It's just a forest with a big river like this river. I have in the back background and
This guy just want to preserve the land make a like a small house and just preserve the whole forest and
He he went to the land and he just noticed that somebody was inside the land
Just cutting the trees and making this illegal deforestation. So he went to the to the police
Police office and he said like hey we I want to
To put like a formal denounce of this and they say like you need to
individual individual
Individualize the people that are doing this and he say like how can I do that? It's impossible
I don't know who I don't know who were the people the person that get in the land and just cut the tree
That's one of the other things that government don't care about that
they just have like a formal description about the things and
Let's say
They they say that they protect the deforestation but
Sometimes they can do nothing. So
One of the idea we have in the in the green digital gardens project is we are gonna boat the lands
but we are gonna also have like a
Real life in inside the land and like kind of surveillance
maybe with our people living inside the land and
Keep and they they are watching that nobody's happening inside the line. We also plan to
to put some
surveillance camera so people can
Take a look at the surveillance camera
And if if it is something happened and they can just turn on an alarm and we can also
Take pictures of the people that get inside the land and we can do a formal and denounce of these people
Yeah, those kind of things are things that
Happens not only in Brazil. Imagine happens everywhere in the world. So we want to address this kind of
Problems and with reef imaging we we want to encourage people that are building in this kind of solutions
to connect
Between projects like for example if somebody managing is is is you working in a in a
Artificial intelligence with connected with the cameras that can take photos of people
going inside the land and
calling the trees
maybe they come partnership with the green digital guardians project and
examples like that
Okay, so you'd you'd also want to help others to conserve their land and you'd put what value would you would you add there for the
others looking to conserve that like with the surveillance kind of thing or the
What would those partnerships look like?
I was just mentioning that
Because the space is about reef imaging. It's not about green digital warning
So I I was just mentioning that in reef imaging and let's imagine we encourage
people and projects like in green digital guardians or any other project to
to to connect between projects and
make partnerships between them or maybe just
Get to know that there is another project happening nearby you because sometimes when you have a project
You never know that there are some other projects in your same city happening
Yeah, yeah, no, it's super cool. So shout out to
Civil monkey. He sent me this database of all these like regions in median because actually by the way
My brother is actually a median on a business trip right now. Hashtag don't tell your mom, but uh, yeah, it's not even for
most of the tree planting stuff we got going on
It's a different kind of things those are running as sales marketing company
And so so he's actually in median right now and he sent me this long list of all like the regions and crypto people
Who are in median like there's there's quite a lot of them. So it seems like a really cool
You know initiative. So so let's delve into this ecosystem. That's that's being
supported through we find median
So so what are some of the activities up until now? I think you guys have done
That a lot of great stuff of you know in in classrooms and educational settings the young kids and helping them
You know plant trees and things like this
getting into
Like web 3 have you guys done a hackathon as well? What are all the activities that you guys are doing?
Seems like you're you're doing quite a lot
Yeah, and but
fears and before I I forget about that you say that civil monkeys send you a list of
region people and projects
Yeah, if you want and you can share
This list with us because we are trying to make a public list in the
Intriller like in the future list. We want to have all the managing
Regenerative projects in in in this list
So if we if we if you can share with us the list will be a reason
And yeah for reformation. I mean like
We started with reformation like doing kind of activities like
Nearby high to
Clean the clean the road
There is a mountain where when you normally go every Sunday and do hiking so
We decide to go and clean the mountain
And just make a competition
who pick up the
More garbage and you can win like a pricing in in in crypto
Also, we have done like
Farming activities with a local NGO that we have onboarded into crypto
So for we have a local NGO that have been working in
regenerative farming and
How to avoid the the intermediaries of the of the markets?
the farmers can get more
more price of their
of the foods they
they grow in the in in the farms, so we decide to onboard this NGO into web3 and
is is is salvatera and we made some activities with salvatera like in partnerships, so salvatera and
Community farms inside 19, so we we
Ask people to come and do like our community activity inside the farm how to farm how to
Keep the farm going and
Just do maintenance at the farm at the community farm
We talked to these people about crypto and how crypto can help to these initiatives
So we try to onboard people
And around these activities we also
Made like two or three planting activities, so we went to
We make partnerships with local governments or local NGOs to go and plant trees
so we went with them we
We asked people to be to come with us to plant trees
We also talk about crypto, so we try to onboard people into crypto, but
Not asking them like I come on to our crypto event
We are gonna teach you teach you about crypto because if we ask people to come to our crypto talk
They are gonna say no because crypto is kind of a scam in Latin America. We have a lot of
Scams histories around crypto so people is gonna say no, but if we invite people to plant trees to do farm
And do a lot of activities
Hiking activities and stuff like that people are gonna come and we can talk to them about the crypto
So those are like kind of activities trying to involve people. We also touch teach people how to
Make their jitcoin passport. What is a jitcoin passport? What is the jitcoin passport for?
And we also encourage people if they have their own projects
We can help them to onboard their project into web tree and participate in give it in get coin
and any kind of
Racing funds mechanics
Last time we we made a hackathon
Was not a hackathon organized by ourselves like hundred percent was a hackathon organized by
Ethereum Columbia in Bogota, but we decided to partnership with Ethereum Columbia and give them like
Budget for bounties for people that develop initiatives are on the generative ecosystem
Participants are were not only from agent participants were from all around Columbia
We encourage people to build things about a
regenerative
Things so we get three winners of this hackathon and the the projects were really amazing
liking really good ideas
And the other the last thing we we did this the year like one week before
Is is juice?
This is the starting of the year all the other kids are going to school
Families needs to bow the
The notebooks for there for the kids and sometimes they don't have the the funds or of the book or the budget
so we decide to have them giving giving notebooks and
So we made a really fancy really nice design
notebooks for the kids, but
Ahead of that is a notebook that you give into a kid
The notebook is gonna be the whole year in the school people are gonna see the notebook
People are gonna see a refi logo people are gonna read the refi
And definition because we put in the in the in the back in the back side of the of the notebook
the refi the refi definition
definition and the refi principles in Spanish
So there is a lot of people that is gonna take a look at those notebooks the whole year
And they're gonna get interested is the way that we can do things
Mainstream because mainstream is in the in the in the schools. It's not it's not inside inside Twitter
Yeah, okay, wow that that is a wide range of really really cool activities you're doing on ground
I love you put not just what is refi but also the principles
I have a pretty rough idea of what I think the principles of refi are could you could you share with us?
some of the refi principles
Friends by the way, we're both live on video right now
So you can check the live stream on let's grow on my own profile on tree gens
Okay, that's oh, it's kind of weird. You got it. I think you gotta put it in front of yourself
But some aside it's like glitching out with the oh, there you go. Okay. Okay, these are the okay hard to read cuz backwards
Could you read it out for us?
Yeah, yeah, I'm I just want to show you a nicely designed minute
They grow love it. What did did refi like Dow help you with that or
Did refi don't help you make that and design or is this something that you guys just totally made from scratch
No, this is our own design. We can share the design with anyone if they want. Okay. Yeah, nice, dude
we put in the notebook the
refi principles that is
Just trying to find and
Equilibrium
harmonic relationships and
I don't know how to say do those things in English and in innovative adaptable and
Respect the respect the community and
Intergenerational
Generational equity. Yeah. Yeah
I really don't know how to say did those principles in English, but I can share I can share a
Ask a photo of this later
Nice man. Yeah, let's let's post that in the show notes. They gave the comment section later and
And cool, so you were talking about how you you're also helping other
Refi projects tap into these public goods funding mechanisms, which you've been you've been crushing it man. You've been crushing it on
On get coin on giveth and on optimism retro PGF recently, which is really cool to see
So for those who are looking to tap into these things, how do you guide them?
What what advice do you give them for having a successful get coin round for having a successful giveth and
Optimism retro PGF because with retro PGF
Retro public goods funding for those of you don't know optimism. I think it's every six months
they allocate a pretty sizable amount of op tokens and
um, yeah, I think uh
Top 50 got like a hundred thousand op tokens, which you know, the price just like doubled recently
So now it's like that's like three hundred thousand dollars pretty substantial. You guys got 50k, which is super impactful. So
Um, so for that you need to get badge holders to to vote
For you so like yeah, what advice do you do you give to folks who are looking to?
Uh to do all these different things
I don't know like I mean there is no advice. I don't know how we
How we managed to get into the retro PGF round but
We did it. I don't know. I don't know how I mean like
At the beginning I saw the retro PGF application and I say yeah, we have been working in the
In the optimistic space. We have been onboarding people into wallets
And onboarding new projects into the quadratic funding mechanism that have been
running in
we have been doing kind of bunch of things in optimism, but
I mean that was not like a huge thing just small things
So I I just decided to fill out the application and put in
The the evidence that the things we have been doing
Uh, we get the application approved. I mean the application is quite easy to get approved
When the competition start I didn't know how it works and somebody just tell me like
You have 100 batch holders
And you need them to vote on you. So we started like a twitter campaign
Showing to the world what we have been doing
What we want to keep doing
and trying to trying to
Trying to get the attention of the batch holders
So at the beginning was kind of difficult. We have we we have been
We have been
Being bought bought it by batch holders like for seven eight batch batch holders and the minimum was
but in some point just
Oh, we've lost him you're down as listener
Such a cliffhanger
So you got to seven growing to 17. Okay now you're up here again
All right, go ahead. Do you hear me?
Yes, we do. Okay, so
I don't know why one day somebody
Just like two three or four people just put our
our project in some lists
Like latin american lists
Women projects is because we have in our project in our project to walk to women
And like Teresa is is is part of the team science in the beginning. So it's like
we managed to get
our project into two or three lists and those lists are
our way batch holders
Go to the applications because it's kind of difficult to read
600 applications. So for example, if gimme make a list
So all the people that believe in gimme are gonna check
gimme list
that at the end batch holders just take a look at
at those lists
And take a look at our project and they decide to put a ballot
We we ended with 27 one
27 ballot and so it's kind of
Surprising, I don't know how we made it
27 wow a lot of struggle to get to the 17 mark, but you got 27 that's epic
So you think these lists played a significant?
Uh role in that so interesting
So the badge holders are looking at lists and deciding and i'm sure they're doing their diligence and looking at the projects as well
But you think that these lists is this like gitcoin where like it's actually on the website these lists that are curated
Or is it just like someone has a spreadsheet somewhere?
I mean it's like for example
Let's say jimmy is a batch holder
And jimmy take a look at some projects. So jimmy decide to make a list like
regenerative
Projects and they put roof imagine inside the list and a bunch of projects
I am a batch holder too. So I say like i'm not gonna read all those projects. I believe
in in gimme criteria, so i'm gonna take a look at the gimme list
And I will put a ballot in gimme list. I mean
some batch holders
Do individual research or some batch holders decide to go through list
It's up to the batch holder
Interesting and did they just discover you and put you on the list or you were reaching out to the lists
What what do you say
Were you reaching out to the curators of the list to be like hey
Consider us for your list or was it they know they just discovered you guys and added to the list. No
Some lists they just discover us or or they just know about us because there are some batch holders and some
list curators that
Already know refinishing project
So they they just put our refinishing inside the list
But for example some other lists like for example, they the the woman the woman list
And somebody just put a tweet like and this is the list of woman leading
So we comment on this on this and we say like hey, you know that reformation is
Is leading by a woman too because I mean I am in the real space but there is a
There's a do a lot
around reformation she's she's
She's gonna do a refi picnic and this Saturday
And she's also gonna do at february 8
Regenerative panel so there is a lot of work being doing
being doing by Teresa
so we reached out the creator of this list and
They put us inside the list because we asked it
Okay, so did ask for some and these lists they're they're on the what optimism website or how did you find out about the list?
I mean those lists. Yeah
There are like four or five different web page for the optimism retro pdf
It's open source. So
somebody have been
And developing this ui interaction with the retro pdf. So you have like
three four five different web page to go and check list and
And to vote and everything and to check the results everything
So it's kind of it's kind of difficult, but sometimes in the twitter in twitter
They just post like I make this list
Uh, so I click on the I do click on the on the list
And I check what are the projects on the list?
I didn't see reef amazing and it's a a woman list. So I just get into relative. Hey, please
We we also have a woman. Can you include us on the list and they include the project?
Gotcha cool, man. Okay, so it is actually on the optimism website
All right, cool. And then so let's talk about like giveth as well. You're also crushing it on giveth
You know and you mentioned you did a twitter campaign for optimism like what's what's your strategy for
For giveth or twitter?
I don't know like there is no I mean the the strategy the strategy for giveth for give coin for
For retro pdf for all of them is the same we just
Like during during the date of the round we just keep posting like
Please consider support ourselves
Through this link and we just post the link
And we try to recap some of the activities that
in the past like
Trying to show people
What we have been doing
Why they should donate on us because I mean if you ask hey, please donate on my on my project
Okay. Yeah, but why I should donate on you
so if if you show people
That you have been doing a lot of things before
And please donate to keep supporting those activities
People are gonna say like okay, you have been doing a great work. I'm gonna support you
Yeah, okay, so you're documenting
Documenting documenting taking a lot of great photos videos of the impact of the actual initiatives that you're doing
Making a lot of content around that posting it and then requesting people to contribute
Yeah, and for example, we have we have a notion we have a notion that is open for everyone
So if you if you go to
refamaging.org
Uh in the in the folder in the in the in the top in the bottom of the webpage
There is a link to to the notion
And in the notion you can click on events
And you are going to see a list of all the events we have been we have been doing
Super cool all your events are there and uh, and uh, amazing cool
So tell me the vision for refam at the end. I mean you got some you got some funding coming in you got passion
You got the determination and amazing team
Um, where do you want to take it? What do you want to do? I mean
You know the the stuff that you've been doing is already great. But like yeah, where do you want to?
Take that into the future
Okay, so you're trying to share screen on the video yeah
All right the presentation mode friends by the way, we are live streaming video across uh, jimmy across tree gens and across let's grow
And my linkedin
So, okay. Yeah, I can bring that on stream here, but you when you're ready. Oh, not yet. Uh, oh, there we go
Oh, look at the events. Okay. Okay. Now I gotta unmute you on the video because we are no longer bringing in spaces audio bam
All right. I'm muted. You can talk in there. Okay, great
Grow ahead explain to look. Yeah, what is events? No, it's the same like this is
This is reef amazing web web page
So we have this notion link
You open the notion
And you can see the reef image in description. You can see the the regenerative finance
A transcription of the of the whole
Like definition what is regenerative finance what is web tree etc
Is in spanish for people speaking spanish so they can read this
This documentation and this is there
And you can see all those events
Is not is not up to date at the moment. We need to
To update with the last three events
But we just try to keep everything up to date
so this is
Yeah, this is
We can't just keep sharing the screen because you asked me about the the future plans, you know
Yeah, so future plans are
I mean we are just discussing about the
about the
How are we how are we gonna use the funds?
But we want to keep doing
Like the same activities we have been doing
The planting activities the farming activities the panels with the projects
and the onboard onboarding people into web tree
Trying to help people and with the with the with notebooks for example for the next year
But there is something we have been working on it
And it's a lending platform
We have already a lending platform. Let me share to you
How it works?
Some microfinance crypto vibes
Esa is some microfinance, but
I mean for you be able to
Get inside this exclusive content
You need to hold a reef image in nft. If you if you don't have a reef image in nft
You cannot access this exclusive content
so in this exclusive content we have
We have a
Tool networks deployed. This is the selo network
And people can come and ask for a for a for a loan
They can take a loan
So we have for example this wallet
Has an approved loan of 500
And they already take the loan
So this is the initial amount of the loan
The the duration of the loan
They have they have been taking the loan from 30 days ago
And the interest rate is only 0.5 percent
so we are trying to
To have this opportunity for people taking loans
With a low interest rate because sometimes they and they they need money
For I don't know. Let's say an emergency something medical
Or you wanna or you wanna travel to a hackathon and you have you don't have the funds
And those loans are not
Are we don't call it. We don't call it collateralization
It's just an approval
To our community. We know we know those wallets
We know who are those those wallets
So we decide to allow list them
And trust that they are gonna give back the funds
Because they don't have any collateralization
for example
Jimmy say like hey, please allow list. Let's say Jonathan
And I am gonna vote for Jonathan. So we allow list Jonathan
Jonathan take the loan and if Jonathan never pay
We are not gonna believe in Jimmy anymore. So it's like a social
reputation for these loans
That is really interesting, okay, so
You are doing non collateralized loans 0.5 interest per month. I assume right? Yeah. Yeah, and then
And and it's on like a referral basis so someone has to vouch for you too. Okay, we can bring the spaces back in
Yeah, someone needs to vouch for you and it's only for it's only for
For reef imaging community and there there is enough key holder too
And you need to be an nft holder and there is another requirement for example that if you want to take a loan
from reef imaging
you need to you need to
we have like a
We have a form for people ask
If people want to ask for a loan
They need to fill out a form
And in this form you need to you need to
You need to submit
A photo of you
Participating in a reef imaging activity if you haven't participated before in a reef imaging activity
You are not able to take a loan
Okay, so it's it's highly vetted it's for the community to support them financially and
That's super cool. That's really interesting because it microfinance clearly works, you know, there's a there's a nobel prize for for
when this was pioneered and
it it really does work like if
you know people in developing countries, they need it for for good reason and
And and yeah, it's this this social
Um validation that okay. Yeah, I vouch for this person or we've you know, we've been on a hike with him
He's picked up plastic
Probably a good person and then they want to maintain
Those relationships too, right? Obviously with with reef. I met ian with the community
And so yeah, I think you're gonna have a pretty high likelihood of of those being paid back and um, and that's that's super cool, man
That's uh, that that's really cool. All right. Well, uh,
This this brings us towards the end of of our show
Is there anything that I haven't asked you that you really want to share with people?
I noticed up on the jumbotron if you swipe right
Uh twice you will see that uh, today's the last day on giveth. By the way, I groanated. I groanated to your giveth
I got my give i'm getting my give. I don't remember actually claimed give token
By the way, for those of you don't know oh, we lost him again. He's coming back up. Uh, for those of you who don't know
Donating on giveth not only can get matching like quadratic funding
Um, but it can also
Uh get you 60 to 70 percent back of what you donate within three weeks, which is really cool. They have this give token
Um, and they advocate I think it's like a million give tokens or something per
year per month there's a system of how much they allocate but
um, but basically so I guess there is an upper limit you can't give like a million dollars and get 60 70 percent back but
Um, you know within the regular amounts that people would donate
Uh, you get 67 to 70 percent back plus what you donate is matched
And the matching pool of this uh, this round is is pretty substantial with uh with polygons
So make sure you check that out. I also see polygon poly raiders in the audience. Uh, they're also live on giveth
Uh, if anyone's else in here is is live on giveth. Do you check that out?
I mean feel free to share in the comments or or up above
Uh reef of median you you dropped so I just gave you another invite back up
I'm also going to invite juan and green digital guardians. I don't mean devices you got growing on here
Um, anyway, that that was the end of the show. I was gonna ask the final things you might want to say
Um or words of wisdom
Juan if you're able to come back, but I will also
Uh play the tune that I was like singing as you guys couldn't hear it
wasn't connected, uh
Of the one time. I met uh, all right
And I was also playing some blondish earlier
You can check the video if you wanted to hear what I was playing exactly
But I will just end with the one time a meta. This is like a little bit of a
Semi inside joke. It's not really semi because I set it in a public forum initially, but uh
But yeah, juan
juan, tarameta
That's the connection. That's why I was calling juan tarameta. Affectionately as uh, that's that's where juan is
Is uh grown by that's my nickname for him and uh
I wonder how many times uh, i've said that throughout the the 24 seven live streams
Uh that we've been doing together. So
All right median's coming up. I got these tracks loaded. Yep. I'm letting you up, buddy
You're letting me know in the video. He's trying to come up. Okay, you can now speak
all right, so
Can you speak it says you can speak but it still says you're requesting
I'm also sending you co-host invite
Uh, so hopefully that helps
Uh, or maybe you could jump up. Oh, there we is. Okay. So final things that you want to say or words of wisdom
juan tarameta
Guess you're not able to speak. Okay, so it's it's so weird that it says you are able to speak. Okay, so i'm going to
add a speaker
You might want to just like quit the app and come back juan
I'm gonna play your your song
All right, and then you can come back and say something or we're just gonna play out the song
We're gonna give you time, but uh to save people we're gonna do this
All right. So for those of you who don't know friends, uh, what an emoji dance is
This is how we get down in the twitter spaces. All right, so I want to see some people doing some emoji dance moves
This is where you tap that heart the heart with the plus and the bottom right on spaces just to the left of the chat
Tap an emoji to the beat
Uh when you hear one and that's how we dance in spaces. Let's get down. I know i'm trying to accept you
But it's not working buddy. So you're gonna have to
Jump out and jump back in quit the app come back. I guess
Uh, yeah, okay. Jerry's ready. Jerry's ready. Haven't even started playing it yet, but he's ready. All right, let's grow. Okay
Hey, do you hear me now?
Yeah, I hear you. Oh, there we go. Oh, you're here. Great. Happy days. Good timing. Okay. So final things that you wanted to say
Before we conclude something I didn't ask you that you want to share or um
words of wisdom
Or what grow right ahead, buddy
Words of wisdom something that's wise that you want to share or something. I didn't ask you that you're
Time to share with the people. No, let me just pin something
Let me try to find it now. Okay pin it
