Back in October when we were at Money 2020.
We started off from that little small booth, we started off from that little small booth, which was an amazing booth, by the way.
We got a lot of compliments on that.
We have a camera with a podcast thing.
It's our debut on the road with a lot of people.
It's our debut on camera.
It's our debut on camera.
It actually was on the roadmap.
I mean, look, we talked about starting the podcast and it started off as a message in Slack.
and we've now turned it into I think this is probably like episode 27 I think and we tested
the waters with you know Eleanor and Marshall online with video the other day and and here we
are today so I think you know providing our guests that are are on future shows are happy with going
on video we're going to move into a video maximalist sort of scenario where we video
as many as we can and repurpose the content we've you know we fired up Marshall's TikTok account now
we're we're working our way into YouTube shorts and it's uh yeah I'm pleased Metallica's live is
slowly becoming a brand hey see we're rising from the ashes and becoming the beautiful phoenix that
we have always wanted to be so well let's talk a little bit about you what has your career been
leading up to enjoying Metallica's wow that's a a big question um so I I guess probably the best
place to start is university um I went to a university in the UK uh called Leeds Metropolitan and
I was studying uh marketing and advertising ironically um and I don't know I was sat in
these classes watching the rise of social media and you know I I was always first to these platforms
right before people had them and I wasn't learning anything about it in the classroom and I I figured
that for me to step out into the professional world that you know I could take the opportunity to
run with my own you know run on my own two feet and and leave uni behind and and that's what I did
um it was a very you know bold risk but it it paid off so I I did two years of this degree and
I was offered a an opportunity to move out to the states and work for a fashion brand called Jack
Wills which some of you if you've been to the UK might know um it it was a very cool brand in its day
it's not got the same pizzazz that it had back then but I was there when it was you know one of the
hottest fashion brands in in the UK um and I actually moved out to the states and I helped them
open all of their retail stores from Nantucket to Martha's Vineyard Boston uh Washington DC Virginia
so I I just had a ball of a time and helped them expand the brand put events on um you know opened I
16 retail stores in a fresh market which was was tough um but we had this this British sort of you know
landing vibe and Jack Wills used to put on a lot of good parties and it was a real experiential sort of
community focused brand so that was that was job number one um I wanted to stay in America I fell in love
with the American dream living in Manhattan and you know commuting out of Grand Central Station every day
but certain visa implications meant I had to return back to the UK um I then worked for a company called
Wagamama which some of you might know too Wagamama is a a big Pan-Asian restaurant chain um that was
recently acquired for about a billion dollars um I helped them market about 50 of their restaurants
um in the south and then I was asked to move into their international team where I then
opened Wagamama's in Spain Italy the Middle East uh we actually had what had one in New Zealand at one
point um I know Paul's listening he might I'm not sure if Paul's been to Wagamama I've never asked him
that but I should um and then the Middle East came calling and I worked went out to Dubai where I
I worked in hospitality for a little bit longer for a local uh rest locally owned restaurant group
and then I moved on to Time Out which is a a big media uh F&B media brand and they've got physical
markets in Boston uh New York there's a timeout market there's one in Dubai really cool I figured
if you know my goal eventually is to be a CMO and I figured I couldn't be a CMO without any sales
experience so I went into this job at Time Out blind and I was selling you know digital advertising
print advertising to an extent um but I brought my sort of creative background and um applied that
to a commercial sense so we'd come up with these really cool brand activations for hospitality groups
and um you know people that were looking to leverage Time Out's brand but we'd bring more value than just
say sell them banners on the website and that was really really fun because I I was not only creating
concepts but then I was having to sell them too and I think I did like half a million dollars worth of
sales in my first year and you know I was I was pretty happy with that going in blind um and then
you know COVID hit that was a a bit of a period um but I was so fortunate to land in the uh
the realm of Formula One and I got the job at Yas Marina Circuit which you know before Metallicus was
the greatest job I'd ever had but now you know building what we're building with Metallicus is
hands down you know the greatest job um that I've had but you know working at Formula One was incredible
it was there was so many moving parts we had to market the race we had to sell tickets we had
after race concerts so you know I I was working on creative artworks for the Foo Fighters Stormzy
Martin Garrix getting sign off for them to promote the concerts and it was just a a whirlwind of a job but
I've discovered blockchain and um you know we're here today how did how did how how was blockchain
you introduce so I do you know what it was I first heard about blockchain probably I think it was
like 2017 20 oh maybe 2018 um and I remember I was on the golf course playing with some friends and
they were talking about link which obviously now chain link and you know a project that I really do
admire I think chain link's fantastic I I love their product their technology their brand identity I
think they're phenomenal um but they were all they were only talking about the monetary side of things
and for me being the nerd that I am you know I I wanted to go in and and learn what it was all about and
I waited until I invested for a very long time and you know I was looking for different projects I
I wanted to I wanted to find people that were doing meaningful things in the space and
I came across a a re uh AMA on Reddit and it was actually Marshall's first um alt street bets
AMA oh wow yeah yeah and I was like yo this this guy knows what he's talking about you know
it was the first instance I think where I saw regulation and blockchain in the same
um sentence and that's when I got super excited so
you know started reading books a great one was blockchain babble for me which was
Igor who we should get on the show he's so down to get on Metallica's live so we should get him on
um but yeah read that book fell in love with it um and yeah discovered the proton community and and I
dived right in um I was helping with marketing you know where I could create and small graphics coming
up with ideas of engagement just I really loved what the team was doing and I just wanted to be a part
of it in any way shape or form and there was a consortium grant I got for a few months to help out with
stuff and subsequently got introduced to arena um and I I remember I was working in Abu Dhabi at the
time and it's already an hour and a half drive to Dubai and then an extra 30 where she was but
I just knew I had to meet up with arena and crushed it through on a two and a half hour drive and met
with her when she was speaking at uh I think it was the AIBC conference in Dubai and pretty much the
rest history you know uh obviously regular interview process and stuff and got introduced to
Marshall and here we are and I'm still learning today that is such a trip so you said you had to
drive 30 minutes and then an hour and a half was this from an F1 race car or was it like a regular car
no it was it was in my Hyundai i20 this thing that I rented and I think honestly this thing had like
four gears it's like a 2022 vehicle with four gears I've never heard of that before but I used to do this
drive every day this was how much I was about this job and I you know I'd be driving at 140 kilometers
per hour and the revs were just through the roof this car was like shaken to work every day
so yeah canned it and and made it up to arena in time and yeah here we are that's amazing just
rain or shine you you made it there and this was such a project that you were just so fascinated and
met like mentally invested in I don't want to say like physically because we we aren't sure about
like bad at that time but that's just amazing yeah and it was good man the it was the the energy
in in the in the proton community you know and and still even now you know we we have our up and
down days and there's a bit of drama here and there but the the people that are in it uh are there
because they believe in the technology that we're building and they believe in metallicus and
you know it's just I still see a lot of the same faces that were there probably I want to say almost
three years ago when I entered this world so been three years already I remember that actually yeah
yeah I met you like a little bit over two years ago but it's just so much has been revamped and changed
since you've got here and shoot man so how do you stay up to date with the latest trends and
developments especially in the blockchain space space twitter twitter oh you're like any like particular
I mean honestly like the the speed that twitter moves at and you know I I think since
Elon's taken it over you know we are seeing some fantastic improvements across the board and there's
some teething periods but it's the source of news it's the fastest place to to gather information and
we're seeing it with you know the likes of Lunar Crush and those guys using social metrics because
the the internet moves fast and traditional news outlets you know are fantastic but if you want to be
first onto something and no then it's the place to be and I think not only that for news and sort of
education but I also think like products and and development like you know chat GPT is going through
its moment but I remember we were talking about chat GPT beyond six months ago I think in the Metallica
Slack channel and you know testament to Paul who was just on these tools when they're in beta and he's there
so early he's talking to founders like feeding them back bugs and it it's really helped you know it's really
helped us as a team you know I I saw a meme the other day and it said chat GPT doesn't have childhood trauma and I
think that's you know it's so true don't don't be reliant on it and don't be dependent but use it like I'm crushing out
things that would maybe take me an hour and a half whether it be press releases or blogs you know
and I'm not saying what the output is is perfect but it it does the heavy lifting and then you go and
refine you give it that childhood trauma back you know that soul and that humanized element of it and
and you go from there but Twitter it yeah Twitter predominantly I mean there are newsletters I think
the milk road is is one that I'd really recommend people signing up to which again Paul got me on to
um books you know I mentioned blockchain babble like even now knowing what I know about blockchain I've
still got so much to learn and and blockchain babble sort of digests the general principle
brings in some macro economic you know side of things that helps you kind of understand where
blockchain is going to move and and help financial markets is a big one and then you know our team
like the Metallica's team is just fundamentally the greatest group of people in this industry and
the thing that I love about working at the company so much is that I can ask a question and no one's
going to look at me stupid you know like sometimes I roll up my sleeves sides at a conference and I ask
him a question which I know it's just second it's not even second nature like you can probably think
and give me the answer but you know the willingness for us to learn within the team and help each other
is fantastic so that's how I stay up to date on on blockchain 100% like we got so many folks within
our our company and community they they they see everything that's happening and go on um and
they're just so open to just giving us the feedback and making sure that we while we're being curious
that they they feed our curiosity they they make sure to give us all the the right information and
be able to help us and support us and I can personally attest to that because I ask a lot of a lot of dumb
questions that I know it would just make certain people eye roll but with this team it's always
amazing and that's that's just a massive shout out to Metallicus a massive shout out to our team
and everybody that just likes to hang and like share their love for crypto and blockchain with us you
know so how does does customer feedback or um other type of data metrics do they shape into like um
the marketing roadmap and how do we use it to like refine the messaging and our approach
wow yeah wow strong question you like put me on the spot right here straight
oh yeah I look it data is data at the end of the day um and you know Metallicus as a company now
obviously is hugely data driven and Frank and I uh now in this growth marketing phase that we're
building out which is essentially taking everything we've learned since you know the company was
started taking into account the the landscape of the industry too is another really big thing because
right you could spend a year planning and you know something like FDX happens and it changes
sentiment right like but it was a lot easier to probably convince or you know market to someone
about digital assets and and getting involved two years ago before you know the the downfall happens so
data blended from you know a perspective of quantitative and qualitative is is very very important so
you know we we take everything from our audience base our customers you know all over the world even in
the US state by state working out you know certain things that will perform well in say Ohio versus Florida and
then how do we start hyper targeting campaigns where you know we can tell a different message in a different
geographical location because Bitcoin in the US might mean a completely different thing as Bitcoin in the EU
and I it's funny I've been thinking about our strategy a lot recently um especially in the US and
I actually drove to Nashville um for New Year's Eve 12 hour drive I have this weird fetish for like driving
across America it's like I don't know the open road and it's I don't know it's very it's very uh it's very
romantic to a Brit but when I was driving to to Nashville and driving through Ohio I kept seeing
these billboards that were saying you know gambling coming soon coming soon and in some instances marijuana
you know now legal in um in Michigan and I think you know across the broader region of the states
that people have this maybe understanding of not understanding the legislation around Bitcoin
and being able to purchase it and I think that's what's really exciting about the horizon for
Metallica's marketing plans is that you know we are compliant and we have been since day one
this isn't flavor of the week for us you know like Marshall, Glenn, Arena, Don are building this
company around that original ethos of regulation and compliance and I think we've got a job to do
in terms of marketing that message and you know we've got the new MetalPay website which is
going to drop probably hopefully next week don't hold me to that but I'm trying to and
a lot of the messaging that we're going to try and communicate is about doing it right and
you know giving consumer confidence in our products knowing that you know it's safe to do and there are
safe ways and there are people who are doing it properly and I think we're saying crypto done the
right way at the minute is is where we're headed but there are there's that sort of you know brand
macro data elements of it and how you apply that to campaigns and then you've got the nitty-gritty
right you've got all Frank's digital
mountain where he's taken things of clicks reach impressions and seeing how those metrics can cascade
into hyper targeted you know digital campaigns that have low cost per acquisition metrics and we do it
right and the thing is you know you could roll out a campaign tomorrow and spend a million dollars and
not get the return but if you spend that time taking the data working on lowering your pack working
out what a a long lifetime user of metal pay looks like you can start you know really making waves and
I'm really excited that we're in we're in that period now we've we've been doing a lot of brands
and we've still got quite a bit of brand to go but we are very much turning on the acquisition model and
you'll probably see arena tweet quite a lot all metrics are headed in the right direction app downloads
are up revenues up if you've read the uh the quarter one investor reports kyc users are up you know I
think we're going to find it easier to get people to kyc because it's no different to going to a bank
I go to the bank and they ask me for like four different types of identification and you know what
I had for breakfast that morning and you know we're asking for a government piece of id and
I I think it's a hurdle that we're really going to be able to overcome yeah it's just going to take
a little bit of time don't you think for sure for sure and we just started introducing how does how
does like the messaging does it stay consistent across different products or does it shift a little
bit per good question again um my my go-to person in metallicus for this is karen karen's uh is really
strong with messaging and you know she likes to talk a lot about how metal pay is for the crypto curious
right metal pay is that that bridge product that goes hey okay I'm interested in crypto here but I'm
also interested in you know a regular cash account you know with a routing number and an iban and
I think that's what metal pay does it sort of gives you the possibility of you know the functionality of
sending cash between friends really easily low latency you know being able to set up recurring buys
you know you a lot of people don't want to act on markets and day trade you know they just they want to
be a part of something and that's what metal pay facilitates and then then you transition into
you know the beast of of what is the engine and the proton blockchain and obviously I'm a I'm a proton
og and that's what got me into the space and you know that is the more crypto advanced like let's use
truly decentralized products that solve the problems of what we're looking to you know achieve with
blockchain and it's just it's pretty awesome that we're headed towards a place where metal pay is
powered and we are there you know is powered by this decentralized engine because I think some people
do want custodial solutions I don't think everyone wants to be responsible for their own money
and we're building this beautiful product mix which is just so complementary of each other you know
you've got metal pay you want to onboard your friend but your friend comes and goes hey like
I'm interested in this I've got 10k and I'm interested in a defi lending product and what our job is now
and the sort of phase we're in is how do we transition people across this entire you know profile of
products and I think we're really starting to to nail on that and it's it's looking good and then you know
then you've got the sort of institutional side of things too right you've got metal blockchain
the absolute beast layer zero you know we've just launched that new website which I think looks
phenomenal and that very much has to communicate to financial institutions who you know might not
actually know too much about blockchain so how how do you resonate with them on the things that they
are familiar with from security compliance speed you know do we have to be shouting delegated proof
of stake from the rooftops maybe not like we've seen from money 2020 in these conferences that banks
are just interested in blockchain now and they want secure fast trustless systems to you know power
their existing systems or if not replace it so it's a it's a party like I don't think I've looked
after this many brands in my entire career and it's we're constantly rethinking how we message
we're constantly finding new ways of communicating and we're we're just in a very very exciting place I'm
you know I we have our team calls every Monday you're obviously a part of them and it's always
we're so close this is all going so well and and we are because we just every single day we get
closer to the you know the end goal
um it was web off yeah um you know back then proton wallet you know you're an og when you're a you're a
free web off guy um but yeah I I just thought it was fantastic I mean the speeds being able to
transact human readable names with my friends you know I was going wild I was like download this wallet
now let me show you I can literally send you a hundred dollars usdc in seconds across the other side
of the world and that for me was like wow this is so interesting and you know as you looked at more
of the ecosystem and I started to discover the the products that were built on there like proton swap
obviously the dex is is our decentralized engine and it's just going to become the powerhouse of crypto
trading but you know some people like swap I'm a swap maxi I love just being able to go on there see
what the price impacts are and having that combo of proton swap with um web off verified in the browser
and using my touch id to transact is like it's nothing I've experienced in this industry
like two fa codes email come here I've got 45 seconds to jump back in
the numbers on my google authenticate returning red shit where do I go now and it's just like it's so much
it's just it's too much and you know
it's a lot and then it's you know it we just see it across the board like different ecosystems and
I'm sorry but no no one's doing it as good as we are and we're yeah we're just gonna we're just
gonna dust off our shoulders over here but yeah we've it's it's taken a lot of just just improvements
and and just sticking with our vision and we've made we're making it happen and even on top of that
that um that wasn't even mentioned it's just the the smart contract system and um how you don't even
have to like try to copy and paste like these x's and o's and numbers and codes when it comes to
addresses you can just send stuff to an address and it could be literally your first name if that's
available but yeah probably not probably not now but I got mine but um that's how it's just that's
how we change and we're evolving and it's exciting now that's it it's I mean just quick if you don't
mind just quickly talking on on proton and you know that there are there are probably you know two
more features that are going to get released quite soon from the roadmap and you know testament to
saeed and the entire development team but just building all of these intricate features that work
on chain and you know they might not be broadly different in a sense but they they're building
this entire like sphere of financial products which eventually when we streamline everything under just
that single identity that one powerhouse of decks swap streaming trading farms loan you're just you've got
this financial hub on a blockchain which is so seamless so fast so secure kyc first compliant
and it it's I I haven't found I've found a lot of companies that are doing different parts of what
metallicus does but I haven't come across many people that have every single piece of the puzzle and
that's what's really interesting because we're so versatile like if you know we get approached in our
biz dev um email inbox and we've always got a solution um which is you know what a very very
exciting thing and we're just quickly to adapt and make sure that we're we're with the times and
anything that's happening within the markets we're able to adjust with that for sure like the the thing
with um metal blockchain you know I remember I got told that when they the team went to money 2020 for
the first time in vegas a lot of the chat was around sort of you know the metal pay api which you know
we've got a lot of people interested in that and it's fantastic but you know metal blockchain was
on Marshall and Glenn's mind and lo and behold we rocked up to money 2020 and what were banks asking
for private blockchains like a layer zero they needed a layer zero and you know the company was so
ahead of the curve that we were able to provide that and a big theme of money 2020 in June which we're
headed to and Amsterdam is going to be metal blockchain and and proton blockchain being the
payments chain of of that entire engine so wow he says in June June 4th money 2020 Europe at the rye
Amsterdam if anyone from the proton community metal community metallicus community loan community
the strawberry fields all of you if you're there we're going to be at the water hole which is a
um we've we've coined at the metal pay bar but we are we're going to have a happy hour everyone's
welcome um you just have to have metal pay to get in which is I think a pretty pretty solid rule
not bad at all not bad at all hey just always hit the app store either google play or ios and you
right on in there in the kyc instantaneous boom welcome to metallic expense so so um there's been
a lot of announcements and tweets coming from that metal blockchain um side will there be like more
opportunities to showcase it at um money 2020 or any opportunities beyond that yeah absolutely so um
metal blockchain wow we're on an absolute run right now um we have obviously launched a new website which
i think was super important you know we we had the previous site up to introduce the product but
we wanted something super refined um that you know not only spoke to developers but also spoke
to financial institutions um something really interesting as well that is a kind of a testament
behind the scenes of how we're working is you know we built this website on a design first
platform um called framer um and it's allowed us to alleviate some of the pressure on the development
teams to allow them to focus on product right so a marketing website's a marketing website and
you know we're adding more dynamic elements to it but what this allows us to do as a marketing team
is to pivot and change content update content really fast without having to file tickets to the dev team
and it's it's little sort of operational pieces like this which i think we don't get the chance to tell
the community about and is is very important like if if i'm you know supporting metallicus and i know that
now our devs have got more time to focus on improving our products and our you know blockchain
ecosystems that's a fantastic win for the company and and i'm really really pleased with how that website
came out and we've got sub pages coming to it so we've got partner pages for a business development
perspective which will be cool we're going to have more comprehensive how-to guides on the site too
so you know marlon shout out i think metal staking.com's the domain but marlon did a fantastic
job getting that up to help onboard validators but you know doing the official version of that and
getting it onto the site so people can come up and i set my node up and i followed marlon's guide like
i had a bit of an anxiety attack when i opened terminus for the first time and i saw a load of code and
stuff but i i got through it and you know it was so easy to set up a node and that's just cool like
not only is it cool it's fun it's contributing to the the ecosystem and you know we obviously want
more validators um wow pr is pr is about to blow up on on metal blockchain we've got obviously i'm sure
you saw we announced the space with uh garen flowers from yahoo news um he's going to be doing
an exclusive interview with marshall on i think the 15th of may um he's going to be talking about
metal blockchain the banking industry how blockchain helps fix um we're not fixed but helps improve the
financial industry so that's going to be one to watch out for and we've got a ton of press which is
about to drop on on metal blockchain and hopefully some interesting developments as well as we you
know we really work on our biz dev and and partnership so that's one piece um obviously
everyone's hyped for the web of metal blockchain integration that's going to be monstrous um i think
paul shared yeah paul shared some teaser content of staking metal within the wallet which is fantastic
and you know that gets us on to to web off which is you know going to be the the multi-chain
wallet which is going to you know power the all ecosystems not just our own you know more chains
more tokens oh my goodness and then and so what can you list off the websites where um people can find
these how-to guides and the metal blockchain side and how to set up a node yeah so marlon's um
site i think is metal staking.com i'll tweet it after this if it's not correct but i think it is um
and yeah we're going to be we're already working on phase two of the metal blockchain.org site so you
could expect that in you know next sort of six to eight weeks um it's going to keep building
framer allows us to continually pivot you know bring more content more learning guides more uh
development resources too so um yeah and you know metal blockchain is is a big b2b piece too
like frank is doing a phenomenal job on on the biz dev front and leveraging his network across the board
and yeah we've uh we've cut we've moved from cold to hot like we're we're in warmly territory now it's
like you know people are coming to us which i think is a is a very good sentiment you know it's it's a good
thing that people know who we are now they're approaching us they want our dev support and yeah
metal blockchain is it's a very exciting time for metal blockchain hey and you guys are hearing it here
and be a part of it with us and tell everybody tell everybody about this and where can we follow
metal blockchain on twitter metal blockchain yeah hey hey we don't even gotta spell that out for you
guys because it's pretty good pace but that's what you see go ahead but no i was gonna say it's so
annoying because i think proton blockchain is one character too long for twitter's uh handles so
hoping elon just drops an extra digit on and we can get folks on blockchain yeah he extended out the text
like text format so can we get longer euthanates please but hoping for that wow so
you you shared a lot of a lot of stuff that's happening on this roadmap um to give us an idea is this
around like the next six to nine months 12 months obviously i'm not gonna quote you on this but
a ballpark estimate look i mean this team works seven days a week and i think one of the one of the
reasons why you know there aren't sort of firm dates that you might see on certain product roadmaps is
because the tech will be ready when the tech's ready like if you know when you're leading from
the front we're not following what people have done before we're doing it our way and you know even
things like we never ship stuff before a weekend because we want teams hands on deck to make sure
that performance that experience is absolutely perfect so you know we've got a lot of work to do i've
just pulled up our trello board here and you know there's probably a hundred cards of things that
we need to do as a marketing team and everything has its priority but we never focus on just one
thing we just like moving everything in the right direction because if we release a new product we learn
more about another product and how that integrates and we like to keep everything moving in parallel
and you know from a brand perspective you were obviously getting very close we've got
the freshness of metallicus which we only introduced less than a year ago um you know we've seen we've
seen developments with you know our wallets our blockchains and we're going to do that across the
board and a few things a few exciting things but you know the people listening today to know is the
streamlining of everything on proton into that you know that super hub um you know the versatility of
web auth as a wallet supporting multi-chain is a big big thing and then you know you book at that
under sort of brand product and then i think the final bucket is growth and that's where me and frank
are working really hard at the minute so we've implemented new tools um we've just implemented a
fantastic new analytical tool which um is gdpr compliant it puts user privacy first you don't
need cookie consent it's super efficient it gives us the data we need to inform those digital spend
campaigns those advertising campaigns we've integrated a brand new automation system which
will onboard a user from a billboard in miami and we you know we're able to target those users
we're able to send push notifications based on price like there there are a lot of things which
there are a lot of things that might seem basic but there's also the part of like building the
back end of stuff to be the best and then when we're ready we start bringing in these marketing
tools you know like notifications in web auth when someone sent you a transaction push notifications to
know that bitcoins drop below a certain price that you might be interested in there and then
these pieces now are really just forming and we've kind of i like to consider it like you know
the arsenal is is prepared and um you know combining the data with the tools and where we go from there is
super exciting we've got a big seo focus coming for um proton decks and metal pay so you know shout out to
uh a competitor a friend in the industry let's say that has a you know pretty nice iconic blue
brand um masters of seo you know and we we we know we know seo like the back of our hand and
now we're ready for it right so we're building out that back end of stuff and that's what's really
interesting is you you're just going to keep us you're just going to continually see us level up
across the board um in terms of dates i i can't we're just we run man it's crazy like the the slack
channel does not sleep and you know it'll be 4 a.m and paul's on a meet and i'm like why are you here
and he's like i couldn't miss this one you know or it's it's 2 a.m we we had a you know we we spoke
to yas marina circuit and we're still speaking to them about potentially doing something and
the only window is 2 a.m on you know a tuesday and i'm like taking a call in my lobby so i don't wake
my fiance up but we are literally doing anything and everything it takes so i love it i love it i
love it that's wow wow well i i can't wait i can't wait and something that you're saying
that really resonates with me is that we're taking the time to build out the product strengthen it
make sure it's the optimal system that everyone and anyone can use and enjoy and then everything
else is falling in line shortly afterwards yeah yeah you know sorry go ahead yeah i was going to
mention such like the price notifications and um like your friend transferred this to your proton
your your web off wallet over the proton blockchain like these were things that i see a lot of people
ask um to the client services team or on social media and these things are going to happen it's
just a matter of we're going to make this perfect first that that's that's something that i love
hearing personally for sure and you know i'll use this opportunity now you know on this space and
we are recording it so people are hopefully going to watch it afterwards but we listen to the
community like there are every day there's a message from the community that makes it into
slack and we listen we think we try to think how we can pivot and but what i do want everyone to know
is you might see gaps but i can very much assure you with our expertise and the team that everything
is on our radar seo is on our radar ppc is on our radar out of home experiential events we know
every event that's going on in the world for the for our industry we choose money 2020 because we've
seen a great return you know like if we go to one conference and really execute well and we get what
we need out of it that's way better like you see brands in the industry that essentially become
conference products you know they jump around conferences and have they shipped much as we have
and no and you know we sent our our female only team to consensus right and they crushed it up and
they gathered so much um you know intel great meaningful relationships business development
opportunities but there wasn't really a necessity to send 50 people there you know it's like we're so
efficient behind the scenes and that's what's cool and you know everything from a marketing product
design brand just every single department in the company is across what we you know what we need
to do and if we're if we're not we learn about it as soon as we need to be and and we pivot but you
know 99.9 percent of the time we we've got it covered well do you have any advice you would give to
marketers that are just trying to start out in the blockchain space for sure i mean
for me i think it's really important to find something you're passionate about because i think
there's a lot of smoke and mirrors in this industry still and i think you need to find a project that
you believe in for the right reasons and it can never be financially focused you know it because
you you're instantly off on the wrong foot right look at something because you care about the people
you care about what their founders are saying you care about the people that they're working with
you you know and it excites you so find find a product first or find a team um integrate yourself
into that community like meet people i there was a point where you know 90 of my friend group
when i moved to toronto first we were all online and you know lo and behold i've got some
irl friends now and shout out to any of them if they're listening but you know just immerse
yourself in the community there's so much cool stuff happening like so many tools that are super
charging us like the the internet right now is in an area of just endless opportunity and i think that
you know embrace ai don't worry about it is couldn't be a greater statement right now um so get involved
in the communities and you know see where you bring value like at metallicus especially you know you
might not have 10 years of experience in a certain field but if you've got the passion and the under
the willingness to learn and you care about the end goal then people are going to be open to
supporting that and i think if you can find that in you know in the industry in different places it's
it's a great way to start and you know that's how i started i just immersed myself in the community
i got myself involved and met a lot of great friends along the way and and now i'm you know
very much a part of of the company which is awesome i love it i love it what what social media channels
um should our listeners slash viewers um follow in order to get a lot more information
about upcoming products releases or even just want to just talk with you hang out with you network
with you for sure i mean look not all metallicus wise but i i think consuming information some i
focus on like you know people that are reporting on technological developments and a little bit
less around the market you know like there obviously are we still got stuff in the industry which is
you know heavily focused on that sort of fomo and side of things but follow tech crunch follow block
works you know follow follow titles that are just talking about um the tech and the industry a bit a bit
i've i've got artifact recently which i love it's a um an ai powered uh news app where you you know you
choose your interests in it it essentially gives you content based on your similar sort of tiktok
algorithm the amount of time that you spend on certain topics and it'll up weight then so that's a
great place to start um and then yeah follow everything metallicus we are metallicus for uh the
corporate entity metal blockchain twitter proton xbr proton loan we're both wallets dive into reddit
um we're also in the process of building forums on the front end of our site so we're going to have
pure communities owned uh you know well you know decentralized communities where people can talk
about development opportunities and hey i need help building this nft marketplace and someone can pop
in and help out so that's on the roadmap too which is cool that's awesome is that is that going to be
where i think we're going to do it across products for sure yeah the you know the community is very
diverse like sometimes you know it's pretty cool to see we fired up the such decks telegram and there's
like 10 of us in there right now and it's a cool place to be and you know such decks let's talk about
that for a couple of minutes i mean amazing like a decentralized engine on proton paying homage to one
of the most important projects in this industry as a fork of bitcoin the home of developers back in the day
you know marshall and glenn meeting there the nostalgia the the origin story of where it was
all about coding it was all about development and the fact that we're a part of that and we're supporting
the foundation 50 of the proceeds go back to dogecoin foundation which is a non-profit which
it's what we need you know what i think marshall said it recently and he said you know we don't want
this to be a one horse race we want everyone to rise together if we're going to make an impact and
you know we're going to keep blockchain and cryptocurrency in america we all need to work
together this isn't a fight it needs to be a group a group thing and i think you know such decks is a
perfect example of that and there are some real interesting characters coming into such decks channel
um talking in a different way from say the proton community but all fundamentally built off the same
technology which i think is so cool
well we all try to work together everybody we're all trying to have this number one goal that we all
have in mind and we got to do this with each other as cliche as it sounds but that's and plus such decks
just came out like two weeks ago roughly 420 yeah 420 and so far it's been a lot of fun using that i
like it i also love the branding on that too it's a lot of it's pretty obvious to me this designing
that was the funnest thing like when marshall dropped the project on us and i was like this is
wild like we're building a decks for dogecoin right now and paul and ivan's eyes just lit up and
you know it's been such a good time working with the dogecoin foundation shout out to yen shout out
to tim shout out to everyone there across the board like and just really excited to see where it grows
and we've got some really cool plans to help keep driving that keep supporting it you know and it's
support you know doge decks supports proton so you spend a bit of time looking at the ecosystem and i
i think we can i think we can put some stuff out i think we need to put a few infographics out that
sort of show how everything is interlinked so you can understand it more but you know such decks is
just the start we've got some cool plans in that i love it any final thoughts you want to leave with the
listeners and the viewers will um there is i got one thing i mean look i don't want to beat around
the bush but you know certain platforms you might find food you might find you know some pretty poor
comments and you just got to look beyond it choose choose where you consume your media i'm you know
we are both sides i'm pre-community i'm still in the community but i'm also in metallicus and
you know metallicus is working tirelessly building relentlessly inspiring tenaciously
to really push this industry forward and it's a testament to the team and when you see 60 people
working you know 18 hours a day for this mission and you see a few keyboard warriors thrown around
thoughtless comments it you know it wears down and all i can say is the people who are supporting us
keep supporting because those tweets those testaments i i don't overlook those like if i see something
positive it lifts my day and it i already work at 200 but i work at 210 and that doesn't cascade from
me that's the entire team and you know but equally as well we're not phased by it you know they're they're
they're a keyboard warriors in every industry in every world but just get your news from a trusted source
um we are building the world's most customer-centric digital asset banking network using blockchain
technology and you know learn that mission statement because it's going to be on some very big places
very soon and we hope you're right there with us when that happens ladies and gentlemen
