That one hits different. Yo, so right now, I'm actually neighboring a preschool.
And these little kids, they sing that same song collectively with so much enthusiasm every single day.
And I can just hear it from my apartment.
There's all These kids going
I'm like mom and they're raising them right they're raising them right at the preschool
They are spreading the good the good word. These are gonna become some some mighty tree gen someday
I can feel it. So okay. We got we got Groze up here on the speaker stage.
Great to have you, Groze.
My man, Mr. Cabrera, what's going on?
Mr. Cabrera, here for the service.
How are you doing?
I love it.
I'm doing great.
I'm doing great.
Happy Monthly Earth Day.
We got Nick from Monthly Earth Day in the spaces, too.
GM Nick, everyone.
Max Engage with the space, bottom right.
We have a job in the TG, so y'all can earn mob tokens just for helping us grow the movement.
A beautiful thing.
Yeah, go ahead, go ahead, go ahead.
Can you believe it's been three years since Nick started this summer?
This is the three-year anniversary, huh?
It is anniversary.
I put a comment down in the comment section.
It's fortuitous that it falls on the equinox.
So for those that don't know, the equinox only happens twice a year when we have equal time of sunlight and darkness on planet Earth.
And so for today in the northern hemisphere, it is the autumnal equinox.
In the southern hemisphere, it is the vernal equinox.
There you go.
And there's also an eclipse.
And an eclipse.
So today is the equinox it's an eclipse and it is monthly earth day i mean
how cool is that what a combination welcome nick how you doing broski gm grow morning how you
feeling today good morning refam it's a good day. It's amazing weather. It's the third anniversary.
Lots of good going on today, and I'm happy to share it with you guys for a little bit.
Right on. So great to have you, man. So great to have you in the spaces.
I'm super grateful for what you've started, this movement, three years in, three years strong, still growing.
And yeah, dude, you've inspired so much action to happen that otherwise would not have.
I think it's such a great ritual routine that you've kicked off here.
Why celebrate, you know, the earth once a year when we could do this every single month?
Maybe, who knows?
Maybe we'll do weekly at some point.
But monthly.
Happy daily, Earth Day.
But I was going to say every day.
Daily, yeah.
Earth Day is every day in my world.
Baby steps, guys. Baby steps.
We started a year.
All right.
We made it to monthly.
All right.
Next step is weekly.
Let's make that a weekly ting.
And then we'll do it on the daily at some point but uh
but yeah daniel go ahead buddy the daily earth day i'm doing that hey hi everyone hi daniel
can can i ask a question to everybody first sure yeah. So, because it's Earth Day and all,
what have you...
to contribute to the health
and the healing of our planet today?
Well, I think I will start.
So, I just posted this message on my feed here on Telegram.
I really feel super grateful and content having spent last week with Mamo Siencinha,
an indigenous leader of the Kogi people from Sierra Nevada.
an indigenous leader of the Kogi people from Sierra Nevada.
And I bring a message from him,
I suppose to set the tone for this space,
but also for, I suppose,
inspiring the monthly Earth Day in the future.
So I guess a little bit of a background.
I'm not going to spend too much time,
just two, three minutes for this message, but a bit of a background I'm not going to spend too much time, just two, three minutes
for this message
but a bit of background
so the Kogis see themselves
as the bigger brothers of Mother Nature
and they see
us, the Westerners
with our extractive economy type models
as the younger brothers
and here's
the message that I bring from Mamo Xenxinia.
He says to the younger brothers,
the world is a living, law-governed system,
and you are in breach.
The law of origin requires reciprocity,
restraint and repair,
not extraction dressed as progress.
Stop cutting the mountains, damming the rivers, poisoning the seas and severing sacred sites.
Consult custodians before you touch anything.
Obtain real consent and restore what you have damaged with ongoing maintenance, not just
Put technology in service of balance, measure your actions across generations,
and pay your ecological debt in protection and regeneration.
Keep the waters clean, the forest standing, and the soils alive.
And most importantly, the spirits honored.
Comply and balance returns, default,
and the system
enforces consequences
drought, flood, sickness
and ultimately collapse
thanks for the space
you're welcome
but I still want to know what you did today
for Earth Day
that's a great message
thank you for sharing man
appreciate you
I just woke up
the day is early for me
so plenty of time to do something
already coming in there
with the accountability
hey what have you done for our day yet
yeah cause it's like
11 it's almost 11pm at night
for me for monthly earth day
so that's where that's coming
from like yeah no i'm kidding sorry i'm like forgetting that no you're good yeah no we can
reflect on what we've done or we can make plans we can share that here and i want to share with
y'all um as as our way of supporting monthly earth day Day and hopefully growing the movement as well.
Anyone post what you're doing for Monthly Earth Day, if you tag us, help us grow the
movement, then we will be giving you 69 TGN as a reward for taking action.
So do it up.
This can be something as simple as picking up some plastics outside of where you live and collecting them.
It can be something like planting a tree in your backyard.
Maybe you germinated some fruits like I've been recommending or you can buy a seedling
or you can go to a local nursery or generate some seeds yourself.
But just take any kind of action.
Another great thing you can do, which is super easy, this is what I've done today and I'm
going to be doing more, is supporting giveth causes.
There are some amazing causes there.
Matching is really significant.
You can go to these curated causes.
Tree Gents has curated a list of 13 different tree planting organizations.
And all the money goes to the, I think tree just
actually would get 3% if you support the tree planting cause, but it's distributed directly to
those projects with massive matching. I think it's like around, I don't know, it depends on
the cause. You'll see the forecasted matching, but it's very significant. And lastly,
You'll see the forecasted matching, but it's very significant.
And lastly, you could also win.
I think they're giving out like a million give, which is like $1.6,000 or something like that.
So that's raffled off.
Just wanted to put that out there.
But there are many ways you can make an impact, you know, many, many ways that you can make a difference.
make a difference. Some of those could be, yeah, let's discuss them. Like, what are all the
Some of those could be, yeah, let's discuss them.
different things that we can do, you know, for nature, for earth? I know, go ahead,
Groze. Yes. The Give Earth Shilling Space is going to start in 10 minutes. And I want to be
there because I'm promoting also the Venezuela cause that I curated.
And I'm doing an impact concert tomorrow.
I'm planning on also shilling the Trigian cause over there, as well as other causes that connected with me on the previous Giveth shilling space.
with me on the previous Giveth shilling space. And we have tons of Venezuelan musicians on the
schedule, most of them friends of mine that are going to get to know more about
music and Web3 and how they can be aligned through the concert. It's complex to explain to them
about Web3 and social impact and see that we can do something
positive through music but i think that you know by doing the concert is the best way to do so
and if i can share a song before leaving to the give it space just let me know i did my first
english song and i started sharing it today.
Let's grow.
Yes, please do.
And where can we visit the concert tomorrow?
Is that, where is that growing down?
Oh, the concert is going to be in Token Smart Discord.
Discord.gg slash NFT.
Short URL for a Discord link.
You can see my Twitter.
There's an Impact Concert tweet somewhere really early in my tweets.
And you can check the Discord link over there.
Okay, amazing.
Token Smart.
That's a nice link.
Okay, please take it away with the musica.
Yes. So this is my first English song.
The Cyber Gammish Balance.
The Cyber Gammish Crisis.
So this is Algorithm.
I don't want to form the algorithm I got my rhythm, I got my beat
And if you know, you know I'll let this novel go, it's financial a fact that I know forever I can't control.
Suddenly, I feel so tempted to dance to the noise, oh day I don't want to be buried by plastic engagement form
So I do hold to five what I've been of my life Just a listener of the rock hall
At that place cosmic dance
Good sky for Amish sky
At midst of rude and white
Finding balance between the dilemma of future and past
And if you know, you know,
you surf the way for drown.
And I'm learning to swim, but I know for a fight that I'm not alone.
And if you know, you know,
tokens go on and on.
I'm a DJ with soul of our region Looking for purpose
And if you know, you know happy to share english love it love it hey Groze.
Phenomenal.
We love a Groze.
Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.
And I'm really excited for your Impact concert tomorrow.
What time does it start?
2 p.m. EST.
11 a.m. PST.
2 p.m. Venezuela.
2 p.m. Venezuela.
We will have cool music. Easy will be hosting with me. Yes. We will have good, cool music.
Izzy will be hosting with me.
I hope it goes good.
Encouraging donations.
You can donate to the Venezuela cause,
the Trillian cause,
Chitronism cause,
but Maciej.
Some causes from Africa
that I connected with
I'm going to be sharing too about water preservation.
The idea is to create spaces for the impact community to connect with each other and support each other.
Basically, in the quadratic funding rounds, it's the same people participating into the causes donating to each other because yeah right right now there's only 137 donors
which i think it's a really low number for the amount of people that we have on crypto and in
the communities and i think that you know spaces like concerts can be able to be
digestive pills for the synthesis of these spaces and encourage people to do
these mechanics.
Beautiful. I mean, yeah, it's wild that contributions are quite where they are,
but we got a couple more days and I'm sure with amazing things like this,
Impact Concerts, we're going to draw in more people and ultimately fund more of what matters.
Monthly Earth Day, Señor Nick, for those who aren't 100% familiar, can you walk us through the journey that you've been through so far?
Tell us what it was like doing the first ever Monthly Earth Day, the second Monthly Earth Day,
monthly Earth Day and how that's kind of, you know, grown and things you've, you know,
learned or experienced over the last three years of running these amazing monthly activitories.
Yeah, for sure. So obviously started three years ago. And the very first one was actually,
let's take it, let's take it back a little bit. So I first started in this space wanting to do
NFTs for impact. And I was planting trees with my NFTs three years ago. I kind of was like later
to the game and my NFTs just weren't selling a whole lot. And so I just felt like the main reason why I came to
this space was to have a global impact, to do good in this world. And I felt like by not making sales,
I wasn't doing anything good. And by funding tree planting and stuff like that, it just wasn't
happening. And so with being born on Earth Day and just always having a passion for like the environment,
um, for nature, wildlife, everything like that. I just decided to do a monthly earth day because
celebrating the month, the earth once a year, I feel like is silly, but I also saw how many people
cared about earth day on that one day. So it's kind of crazy when you look at corporations,
celebrities, you know, any kind of higher powers,
they go big for Earth Day on April 22nd.
And so it's really encouraging to see,
but once Earth Day is gone,
nobody seems to care about it as far as the same people that were
shouting from the rooftops about, oh, we got to do all this and all this cool stuff for the earth.
And so that's why I decided, I mean, once a month still is not that big of a deal. I mean,
you dedicate one day out of your month to go out and do something positive for the world. And when I first started, even today,
but when I first started, I just was letting people know like, hey, you can do absolutely
anything. And the amount of stuff, different types of activities that people were doing
were kind of just like mind blowing. But they all had some kind of positive impact on the world, not necessarily just the environment, on people, on animals, on poverty ridden populations.
And so it was really encouraging to see.
But the very first month I started, I think it was me and like one other project that got on there.
And it was kind of like that for the first,
I want to say until Earth Day the following year, when I finally was like, you know what,
like I need more participation. And so I started DMing absolutely anybody, anybody that talked about the environment or doing something good for people. I was in their DMs immediately,
just reaching out,
reaching out, reaching out. And then within the first two years, we were having a huge
participation. I think we were able to, within the first year, year and a half, get about
a hundred different projects or organizations involved. And so it was really encouraging to see, you know, fast forward
three years later, the amount of collective impact that we have had is kind of mind-blowing
when you think about it. It's only happening one day a month. So basically 36, 36 days. And, uh, we have, we've done a lot of stuff. We've planted over 60,000
trees globally. Um, we've cleaned up probably very close to 20,000 pounds of trash off of
beaches, natural areas, neighborhoods, trails, um, kind of just like you name it. Uh, but
you know, it's, it's something that I, I continue, I've wanted to give up so many times, as you all know,
because I've talked about it. Some months are discouraging, more discouraging than other
months, but it's something that I still always have a passion for. I have my whole life. And so
it's kind of silly to give something when, even if I don't get much
participation one month, the next month I could get a lot of participation. Um, and just seeing
what people can do and, um, and a collective effort is very encouraging and kind of just
keeps that little flame lit inside of me. Um, but some kind of big updates, uh, I turned monthly
earth day into an actual business now. So it is a registered business. Um, and I kind of big updates, uh, I turned monthly earth day into an actual business now.
So it is a registered business.
Um, and I'm going to try to be going, taking a next step and, uh, by using it as a business.
And I'm hopefully going to, uh, be getting in contact with a lot of corporations, a lot of local businesses to basically corporations buying, um, carbon credits and stuff like that.
It's kind of along the same lines, but I want to be partnering with people that are on the
ground doing work, not necessarily just buying a carbon credit, which is also awesome.
But in the last three years, I have met loads of people and organizations that are on the ground almost every single day, if not at least once a month, doing the trash cleanups, doing the tree planting.
And if it's anything that I took from these last three years, it's meeting these amazing people that are out there and building an amazing relationship with them, talking with
them one-on-one. And so now I just want to take it a little bit further and help local companies
or businesses become more sustainable and show that they want to be more sustainable by helping
fund real people doing the real jobs out there. So more to come on that, but that's kind of just like the,
the journey that has become monthly earth day the last three years.
Love that brother. Yeah. You should sign up companies, individuals,
folks that want to support this with like, you know, monthly contribution, um,
like, uh, commitments, right? Like that's, you know, like nowadays you can use like the Stripe app on your phone
and people can just tap your phone with their phone, like Google Pay, Apple Pay,
and they're committing to a monthly subscription.
And you could go, you know, you could go door to door one weekend
and just like sign up a whole bunch of people.
I used to do that.
It was, it's like, it'll definitely test your passion a little bit.
You won't get a few doors slammed.
But like a lot of people, what's beautiful about this process, though,
is that many people give for years and years and years
when they sign up to these commitments.
And so it's kind of something you get out of the way,
and then it's like a recurring thing
that you don't necessarily have to grind for every week.
I mean, it's a beauty of every month.
And since this is a monthly thing and doing monthly Earth Day,
I think that's like a really great contribution
and a way to see more of this stuff happening.
So yeah, let me know if there's anything I can do to support that.
I think that's something that Tree Gens might do in the future as well
is just like sign up a ton of people to do like monthly contributions and really do a push for that.
And then, you know, once that's turning, you can grow from there.
But man, what an amazing journey you've been on, man.
Like super persistent and, you know, you've grinded through.
And that's a testament, you know, because like I feel like life is always going to test you, right?
It's going to make sure, like, hey, let's see how badly does this guy really want it?
Like, let's see if he really wants to make this happen.
Like, let me put a couple thorns in his path and a couple roadblocks he's got to climb over.
Because, yeah, it's not easy.
And I really respect the fact that you never gave up
and you kept making it happen, man.
Because, yeah, it's a beautiful thing.
It's an extra reminder.
For most people, to do something once a month is a big step up.
Some people, it's like once a year around Christmas time,
they might give. But to do so, take action.
And everyone can, everyone can make an impact, right?
That's the beautiful part of this, right?
It's not like, hey, you just need to have like minimum thousand dollars to make a difference.
It's like, you know, you can, you can do anything.
You can, you can personally take action.
If you got time, you can give funds.
If you got funds, I have to think adding value in various different ways to different impactful
organizations is a great way to do it, right?
Like whatever we can do to support each other,
there are little things that all of us can do that can actually really make a
difference. So, so yeah, let's freaking grow.
It's, I mean, you nailed it right on the head.
As far as like the, the obstacles and the,
the testing because you guys have heard me say it before that
I've, I've wanted to give up. Um, but it's, I'm super happy that I didn't, um, you know,
just throughout the last few years, I've met some incredible people. And as far as you said,
like, yeah, like it's the, it's the monthly reoccurring, you know, donation or, um, like
we're talking about with the stripe.
That's kind of the direction that I'm going to be going.
But I've heard it before, but out in Africa, for what people are willing to spend on a cup of coffee in the United States from Starbucks, Dutch Brothers, anything like that, that $10 that they spend one to two times per day,
that $10 can have an insane impact in other parts of the world. And the Western society,
I feel like a lot of people are out of touch and just don't really understand
the difference that they can make with just the smallest amount of money.
Um, I was talking about it with somebody at work and a lot of people make donations to different
organizations, but these organizations, if they're taking donations, they have to, they are, they
should be able to give you the percentage that actually goes towards the foundation that they're
supporting or anything like that. Um, and they, they, it's like a legality that they're supporting or anything like that. And it's like
a legality that they are supposed to be able to provide that for you. And a lot of these companies
or organizations that claim that they're taking donations and giving them to good,
like some of these 60% is going to administration. So 60% of the donation is going towards
somebody's paycheck or something like that
you know in the three years of monthly earth day and impact nfts and everything like that
i still have yet to take like any money from it um you know i never wanted to do this to become
a millionaire um it's it's the type of thing where if I can give money to other people that need it or doing good for the world, um, that's just what my whole intent has been behind the monthly earth day.
Um, and also obviously just to showcase that, you know, it may not seem like a lot if you're picking up one bag of trash, but collectively, if we have a hundred people picking up one bag of trash, it adds up so very quickly.
And so that's why I continue to push with this monthly Earth Day, man.
Push it to the limit.
Yo, respect, man.
Much respect to you, good sir.
Much respect to you.
So what have been some highlights?
I know we talked about some of the challenges you faced along the way.
What about some of the good things?
Reflecting back on it, any fun or actions that were taken that maybe you didn't fully expect?
yeah um so one of them was from you yourself when you were uh gunning for the guinness book
of world records on one of the earth days um you planted i think 20 000 trees or something like
that i can't remember it was a year or so ago um but that was just like mind blowing and kind of got us 30,469 mangrove trees.
So like that kicked off a huge, uh, you know, a huge chunk of the, of the 60 plus thousand trees.
Um, so that was really awesome. Uh, back in the day, um, I still believe they're around,
just not as active just because of, uh, I think some local government stuff that they're kind of working on, but Aqua Purge would have
massive beach cleanups and we're literally cleaning up five, six, seven thousand pounds of trash
with their local community, which is, which is incredible. Same thing with like Reefi Tulum.
Sandra has been doing an amazing job getting a lot of people together
to do beach cleanups um another couple of things that are just kind of like local is um i was able
to get my local hoa on board with the monthly earth day and do different things throughout
the summer the warmer months but you know we've implemented a community cleanup the weekend before the weekend
after, depending on where the 22nd falls of people just going around and cleaning up our
neighborhood. So our neighborhood, you know, rarely has trash just because at least once a
month we're going around and cleaning it up. And I know that other people that live here have
gotten involved and they do it
more than just once a month. So that's really cool. Finally, getting a connection with the
Colorado Department of Transportation was also a big highlight that I never thought was going to
happen. But, you know, I'm trying to work things out where I get the whole state of Colorado to do highway cleanups once a month and record their results so we can continue to add to the collective impact.
So lots and lots of wins for sure.
I would say there's obviously, you know, I can always talk about, you know, the kind of the sad or discouraging or not encouraging parts of it.
But a lot of that is just based off of personal opinion.
Because every single month we've had participation
and there's never been any kind of negative thing that has come from it.
Obviously, I wish there was more and more and more impact.
But when I sit down and think about it collectively over the last three years, we've had some incredible impact.
And nothing short of being thankful can be said about that.
Beautiful, man. I love that perspective you got.
And yeah, I'm glad, like I said said that you didn't give up because yeah it it
is it is great man like all the action's been taken if you zoom out um i want to yeah i want
to explore how we can how we can grow this thing get more even more peeps involved you know um
i know last month let's grow a dow did like a 24-hour Earth stream, which was able to shine some good light on it as an initiative.
Unfortunately, we're not doing this one, but I think next one we definitely will be 100%.
That'll be during our 24-7, two-week sprint of nonstop lives.
Yo, that's creeping up, actually.
That's in like three weeks, three weeks and a bit.
Gosh, time flies.
Time flies.
Yeah, we're going to be live for 24-7.
So, yo, where am I going to be during that?
I've got to make sure I got good internet.
Start doing these 24-7 things again. Oh gosh. I've got to make sure I got good internet. Start doing these 24-7 things again.
Fun times. It's always a time. It's a great time to connect. And yeah, I'm going to put in the heavy lifting in the next few days to make sure we got some really big hosts and special guests
so that we can cross-pollinate and grow grow grow this movement
while we grow TGN. This is going to be the first time we're doing a Gitcoin round where
we have our token live, which is cool. And by the way, if you had previously contributed to
tree gens, you got a nice little airdrop, which is nice. So many people, unfortunately I think
some of them were airdrop farmers, but at least the real ones also got their nice little bit of tree gen love.
So, bro, what do you think about ways that we can grow this, ways that we can support, ways that people can get involved and ultimately make even more of this great impact?
this great impact? Honestly, I think it's just a lot of talking about it. A lot of not only just
talking about it, but also it's kind of like where like the put your money where your mouth is type
thing. You know, a lot of people talk about monthly earth day, not just on Twitter, but just
like in family and friends and people that I've talked about,
people at work and stuff like that. But a lot of people are supportive with it
and about the idea, which is incredible. I mean, obviously it starts somewhere,
but by actually showing that we, you know, are participating, and that's why I say like, it doesn't have to be anything crazy.
You know, I've always, I've always said that like, you know, a lot of people, and I think get kind of
not necessarily like kind of like scared about the idea of, you know, Oh God, I have to plan
something. I have to, you know, go ahead and do all this crazy stuff for it.
But honestly, like it's, it's super small. Like how many times a day do you see trash laying around outside? You know, I go, I go to the grocery store, which is a five minute drive for me.
And there's so many places where I'm like, I need to do a cleanup there. I need to do a cleanup
there. I need to do a cleanup there. My kids have been accustomed now to literally, anytime we're driving on the highway, dad, we should go clean up trash on this part of the highway.
You should contact somebody to clean up that part.
So, you know, there's a lot of different ways, you know, and that's just one thing that I focus on is the trash cleanup.
And that's just one thing that I focus on is the trash cleanup.
But that's why I say anything that's a positive impact is game.
And that's anything from recycling the correct way or donating to causes, donating to the people that are on the ground doing stuff.
Carpooling also is like a super minor thing, but it can, can have big impact, not
releasing all that carbon out and, you know, and emissions. But I think it all boils down to just,
just showing that, you know, we support it and kind of, I don't know if how the algorithm and
stuff like that works, but in particular on Twitter, just like, or on X, my goodness, I can't believe I said that.
But on X, showcasing it with the hashtag or something just because, you know, it's just the word of mouth stuff.
If people continue to see that, it's stuff that I find, you know, it's hard for me to, a lot of times it doesn't show what people are doing.
It's hard for me to, a lot of times it doesn't show what people are doing, even if they say,
oh, you know, monthly Earth Day, if they space it out and don't use the hashtag, there's a lot
of times I don't see that until all of a sudden it's like days later. But just by using the
hashtag or tagging me, it's something that I can easily find. And that way I can showcase it also.
But, you know, I have the website up and running.
It's the type of thing where I'm going to continue to build on the website to showcase
anybody that, you know, uses the hashtag or anything that I repost. It can be easily found
for other people to see. You know, I'm posting, I'm trying to get more of my local community,
like the town that I live in, get more people involved with that. Just because, I'm posting, I'm trying to get more of my local community, like the town that I live
in, uh, get more people involved with that. Just because, like I said, there's a lot of people that
talk about wanting to do good. They also just don't know where to start or what to do. Um,
but if people know, Hey, let's just go and enjoy the weather for an hour or two, um, by walking
around a natural area and just picking up trash, getting to know your neighbor, getting to know the community.
It's a win-win in a lot of different ways.
Indeed. Indubitably good sir. Win-win-win-win-win.
So yeah, let's keep talking about it. Let's keep spreading the word.
Let's keep onboarding. Take action. Lead by example. Don't be shy to share your impact. I think this is something
that a lot of people struggle with. If they do something good, they don't want to boast or share
about it. But how can we inspire other people? How can other people take inspiration and also
want to make a difference if they aren't really seeing other people do it. You know, it's kind of like people see people doing things online and they kind of get inspired and take aspiration to, you know, not always do the most positive things.
Right. Mostly people are all just, you know, flashing different things on crypto Twitter, flexing, you know, random stuff.
What about the impact?
You know, if you can share that,
flex that, shine light on it.
I think more people are going to be
ultimately doing the thing.
So that's what we're going to help you with
next monthly Earth Day in a big way with LGL.
We'll be having a 24-7 thing,
but let's do like a whole day
dedicated to taking action.
And friends, don't forget, post literally any impact today for the environment.
Tag the tree gens, and you'll not only be helping grow our movement,
but you'll be supporting monthly Earth Day,
and you're going to be getting 69 TGN as a little incentive to do it up.
So keep growing, keep making an impact, and let's freaking grow.
So Nick, what do you think about weekly?
Should we try weekly?
Or is that pushing it?
Am I pushing it too far if we try to do like a weekly thing?
I mean, you know, I'm down for anything.
You know, I hear a lot of people say Earth Day every day. And I think a lot of that is attributing to the way you live, honestly.
So when you go down to like more times per month, it starts to become the type of thing where you kind of have to change the way you're living. And again, that does not have to be drastic. Like I'm not asking you to go
build a new house that's completely off grid or anything silly like that. It literally is
changing small habits to just slightly different. And you can have an impact instead of using,
different and you can have an impact instead of using, you know, plastic silverware, or I tell
people at work all the time, bring your reusable Tupperware, reusable, your actual dinner, your
dinner silverware, your, you know, your metal spoons and stuff like stop using this single
use plastic. It's silly because people will bring it to work in reusable containers,
but then take it and pour it onto a paper plate to heat it up in the microwave.
So there's a lot of different things that you can do. Recycling paper at work. I take paper
out of the freaking trash can and I put it, I put it in our shredding trash can that
is a hundred percent getting recycled. Um, but it's sitting right next to the trash can. So
it's just silly things that if we just change our mentality, just the slightest bit, you're
still going to have a positive impact. Um, just by slightly changing your, your way of, of living.
Sorry, go ahead, Song of Home.
There's no sorrys. We're all good here. Um, so for me, like, Earth Day is every day.
And I, what, pretty much started, like, creating changes in, like like the type of body products I was using like over 20 years ago. Um, plant-based soaps, conditioners, face washes, laundry,
anything that you need for the household or the body can be made with plants.
And a lot of times it smells
way better because there's not all those, uh, what is it? VOCs like volatile chemicals. I forget what
the acronym stands for, but there's a lot less chemicals and it does a whole lot for the earth to be using plant-based cleaners,
getting rid of sulfates out of your soaps, not using them, not using any soaps that have
sulfates because that's super bad for the environment. It's actually not even good for your hair.
Being mindful of what you wear on your body.
That's been a lot harder in transition for me.
Because a lot of stuff is like... You got to really read the tags.
And the thing is, some people advertise their clothing wrong.
They lie. So you have to educate yourself on fabrics. read the tags and the thing is like some people advertise their clothing wrong they lie so you
have to like educate yourself on fabrics and yes some of this costs more technically
but I don't know as an indigenous being here I don't think it costs more at all. I think that by not changing, that's where the
cost is. It's not just the cost to our environment, but it's the cost to future generations.
When we don't make these changes, it's easy to make these changes. And something I've noticed
on like a spiritual level is like the universe will feed back.
Like if you put good intentions out there and you're spending your money,
it might be a little bit more money,
but if you're spending it with the right intentions,
the universe is literally going to make it easier for you and put more money
in front of you.
And that's something that isn't talked about.
There's a lot of people that are stuck with the concept that, you know, oh, this is expensive if I do this. But like you said
earlier, people are dropping like $10 on a frigging cup of coffee. That's not even like
fair trade at times. Like there's just really like there's some reckless uh concepts that we have to
start shifting and it just takes one person you just do what you can you don't need i mean yes
we're we're wanting to like post our impact that's really good on you know we got reason to do that
but those around you you know they they just need to see you doing,
you don't need to shout it out. Just by doing and being in this space of proactive, positive
change for the highest good of everybody, that energy speaks for itself. So the more that one person does it it's gonna affect 10 other people and it's just a ripple
effect 10 100 000 10 000 you know a million billion trillion like a lot i know we don't
have a trillion people on the planet but the reality is like you just have to start with one
thing and you don't need to go all crazy right
away because usually when you go drastically into something you can't sustain it so you just start
with one thing like I'm going to use natural deodorant I'm going to use natural shampoo
I'm going to choose to not buy clothes that have polyester. Or nylon.
Or whatever crazy concoction that they're making these days.
And I get that it's hard.
Because like I said.
Certain things.
I love my Patagonia jacket.
I love my backpacks that I get from Patagonia.
But yes it's not made of natural
materials, but on another level, Patagonia, they literally take responsibility. If they find
out that somebody's thrown, it's part of their policy or something like that. It's part of their
values. They have like a recycling
upcycling program within their own company they don't want to see their products in landfills
so it's like certain things like outdoor gear you know you gotta you gotta make do with what you can
find but you can also be very picky on what companies you use.
And yes, Patagonia, for example, can be costly,
but they literally will repair anything for you. You just send it in and they repair it for fucking free.
And if they can't repair it, you get a new one.
They'll literally let you pick out something new
that is close to the product that you returned
to have repaired. So it's really important just to be mindful in what we choose to consume,
because right now we do live in a consumer society. We can't get around it. I mean,
some people can because they're living in the jungle, and they've never been disconnected from Pachamama,
but the mass majority of people have.
So this is, I don't know, I'll get off my soapbox,
but those are some things that I think should have been shared.
No, I appreciate that sentiment.
It's very true that the little actions that we take each day also really add up.
That's how we can embody the whole daily Earth Day thing is making these little decisions that really stack up.
And yeah, sometimes cheap is expensive, right, if you have to keep buying it.
And then that's also obviously having a negative impact.
And it can actually be more expensive long term.
But yeah, that's something you buy once and they'll keep repairing forever.
And yeah, it's a very cool brand to be a part of and be using.
And we can all be more mindful of the things that we're buying.
I look at each purchase as like a vote, right?
We're voting for this because we want this to be more of this in the world, you know?
That's actually, that's what it is.
That's what leads to more.
Because the corporations own the fucking governments.
We vote with our wallets literally and figuratively
sorry i didn't mean to interrupt
um so yeah happy days let's all make the right decisions make the world a better place
scoop some tgn scoop some give tokens, scoop some
whatever is regenerative that you want to be a part of and is net good for the world and will
have a real world asset value backing. Whatever it looks like for you to make a difference,
just do the ting. That's what's important. Do the thing and encourage others to do the thing.
Oh snap! I forgot today was supposed to be onboarding day. That reminds me. Maybe we should
do that tomorrow. Onboarding day tomorrow. My bad. We didn't promote that. We got side quested
by monthly Earth Day, which I think is important.
by monthly earth day, which I think is important. It's good we mentioned we focus on that today.
It's good we focus on that today.
But yeah, okay, so we have this thing called Onboarding Day
where anyone, you can just bring any friend up here on Spaces.
If you onboard them live, meaning you give them a tree gen's pitch,
it doesn't matter how your pitch goes.
As long as you try and you both come up to speak,
then you will get 69 TGN.
That's every typically Monday, but today is monthly Earth Day.
We're doing it tomorrow, Tuesday.
So, on board and day.
It's tomorrow.
I have to leave because I need some sleep before I go to extend my music.
Yeah, totally fair.
Totally fair.
We're also at the top of the hour.
So, you know, we might transition to the giveth spaces
since that is a thing that is happening at the same time.
So, yeah, let's just grow over there.
And I appreciate you, Sangavom, every day coming through.
Friends, we got to, what, 81 81 come 82 it's not quite the hundo
mark we got to be more uh yeah i didn't i didn't i didn't say anything no that's okay we don't have
to get it every day it's a nice milestone when we hit a hundo we give things out um but uh but
that doesn't mean you can't still get 69 ttn today
just literally do something for the environment tag us and um and you will get it so let's freaking
grow i think i saw williams do the thing already much love to williams williams is a g so yeah
everyone just tag and yeah and uh mention monthly earth day of course you can tag monthly
earth day you guys have a hashtag right nick people still using hashtags i don't know if
that's even still yeah that's what i'm saying i know it's kind of silly but i still use the monthly
earth day hashtag so that way i can find a lot easier the people that are doing some impact out there i love it nice it's a good way to just
search through um find the things i see you've got a give cause as well so let's make sure that uh
we're supporting these give causes fam last couple days to do the thing so oh tree gens is even in
there oh man you're you're amazing thank you so much for including us in your cause.
I think we're in four causes.
That's kind of wild, actually.
Well, actually, I'm in public nouns.
I don't know if Tree Gens is in public nouns
because public nouns sponsored my Guinness World Record.
We're in the tree planting cause.
We're in the monthly Earth Day cause. And we're also in the one of Crypto Altruist from the podcast features there.
Welcome Solana Relief.
We're just kind of wrapping up the spaces.
We're probably going to grow ahead to the giveth ones. So short and sweet today. But I know you wanted
to do a grow elaboration with us, right? And fund some trees on chain? Do you want to?
Yeah. Anything you want to discuss IRL?
So I think we're doing something similar.
We're doing good to the world, planting trees and tracking it on chain.
Everything is set and we help shoot NFTs for everybody to meet.
Nice, man.
Good for you.
That's so awesome how people come forward and want to support mangroves directly with us.
And this is something we can also do is, you know, we're tokenizing mangroves and we can get it to NFT holders.
There's a base to Celo Bridge now, which is coming out.
So that means we can actually bridge our tokens to Salami and reward over there, too.
So happy days.
I love it.
Thank you for coming through.
That was right at the tail end.
We're going to rotate over to the next spaces. so happy days i love it thank you for coming through those right at the tail end we're gonna
rotate over to the next spaces um so yeah much love everyone remember tag us today
doing anything for the environment uh and just documented tag us and you will get 69 tgn
welcome creatures much love to you happy month the earth day
