We're now today here with some special guests.
Billy, who's famous with the founder of the Dodge Coin.
And Travis, who has been one of our favorite advocates
in terms of posting great MSU contents on Twitter.
And as usual, your favorites, Keith and Dominic, are here today as well.
What's up, what's up, what's up?
What's up, guys? What's up?
Yeah. So should we do a bit of introduction?
Who should introduce who?
No, I mean, like, yourself.
I'm Billy Marcus, known on X as Shibatoshi Nakamoto. I made Dogecoin like, I guess, 11 years ago now or 12 years ago, something like that. A really long time ago. And that was a random part of my life. But for most of my life, I've been a gamer and software engineer and excited to be on the stream with y'all.
Playing this cool blockchain game.
Excited to have you here.
And I guess I'll do a little intro myself.
So, yeah, my name is Travis on Twitter, ProofofTravis.
Big-time fan of gaming specifically web3 gaming but of course
uh it's not been here forever been a been a gamer long time before that uh and maple story
was my childhood game so it's what i used to run to the you know drugstore to get uh you know
cars for so i can charge them into the game it's a long time mapler and very happy to see you know, cards for so that I can charge them into the game. It's a long time Mapler and very happy to see, you know,
MapleStory Universe being built out.
And yeah, always sharing content.
I work in DeFi, but my passion is in gaming.
I also just got a slime T-shirt.
Fantastic. Fantastic. Thank you guys.
Well, you actually just got that slime t-shirt?
Oh, you can have minted before you mint your characters. Okay, too bad.
Are you not wearing any pants?
Yeah, my pants came off when i put the shirt
on my pants came off i don't know how that works that could be a little inappropriate
for the live streaming but yeah okay uh because before i had an overall oh yeah
but that's fine you look cool thank you thank you thank you i mean it's working from home i'm
working from home yeah working from home okay okay nice nice okay okay that's the that's the new
trouser right now wearing yeah wait am i yeah i am wearing something right now
what do you mean we are life
okay what should we do today hey i think we should just keep killing mushrooms for the next uh
Just slurring these generations with mushrooms.
Before this game started, we were doing this for, I don't know, 30 minutes or something.
We've been killing these mushrooms for quite a while.
I think we've killed at least, like, you know, a few hundred already.
We have 800 people watching.
Like us killing mushroom?
We better do something more productive than that.
Yeah, we should go somewhere pretty.
This is just so peaceful. Lotter of them. Yep, yep.
This is just so peaceful.
Hey, Emily, do we have anything that we need to do today?
Or can we just keep killing these emotions?
Sorry. My connection's a bit on and off. Actually, we were planning on going
on the control tests for everyone, but we can start off with killing mushrooms a bit and chat about how did you first learn about the story?
Emily, you're being wrong.
Yeah, I think I heard three journey.
I actually didn't ever play MapleStory.
You're kind of robot in and out, but it's all right.
I actually didn't play MapleStory when it came out.
My roommate did for a while, but I didn't play MapleStory.
I played World of Warcraft and a bunch of other games, but I've been, I guess idea to own the stuff that you have in like World of
Warcraft, like you have your, your shoulders or your whatever that you're trying to show off in
Iron Forge. I thought that would be cool. So seeing a game like this, like an old school game like
this remade with, with blockchain integration was interesting to me. So I wanted to try it out. Pretty fun killing mushrooms so far.
But yeah, you can treat me like a complete noob on this stream because I am.
And if I'm doing something silly, just let me know.
And let the audience know who's new to a game like this.
I mean, awesome, awesome.
Doing something silly is the fun part, right?
And, you know, we're just having a lot of fun
killing these mushrooms, like, so peaceful.
These happy mushrooms that are just smiling at us
We can do it for days and hours.
Cool, cool. How about do it for days and hours. Cool, cool.
I mean, just on the point of the silly things,
I think it's actually pretty cool to see because, yeah,
I've played MapleStory for quite some years,
and I often forget how it was at the beginning,
like learning everything.
Because for me, I think before MapleStory,
I was playing Neopets. And that was my upgrade from, I think before MapleStory, I was playing Neopets and that's like,
that was my upgrade from Neopets to MapleStory when I was,
I don't know, maybe 12, 13.
So, you know, learning controls, moving,
And I think even understanding like game economies,
I really learned all that through MapleStory
from, yeah, all the good stuff.
So yeah, I played for a very long time.
I still have friends that play to this day, who've been playing for 15, 16, 17 years.
They're the ones that are always edging me to come back on and get me up to speed with
So I've always loved the game.
And so, yeah, super excited to see it come into blockchain. you know get me up to speed with things so so i've always loved the game uh and so yeah super
excited to see it uh come into blockchain um and uh as far as that journey i think it's pretty
similar to a lot of people around the time it was it was covid uh we're locked in uh in our houses
rooms apartments and um and yeah i i was, I think a Bitcoin ATM showed up at the
bottom of my apartment. At that time I was in Switzerland. And I don't know if you know
anything about Switzerland, but it's very, very hard to get things going. Like there's
a lot of regulations and paperwork and all that stuff. And so for a Bitcoin ATM to show
up in my apartment, I'm like, somebody must have done a lot of work to get that approved.
So I'm like, all right, let me research research some bitcoin what the hell is this going on i had one friend on
instagram that you know posted about it so decided to to shoot him a message i'm like can i use this
atm all that jazz uh and then yeah i spent the first year kind of just learning about bitcoin
and eth until i saw some videos about you know web3 web three gaming or crypto gaming. And then that's when I was like, okay, no, I'm fully pilled.
This is, this makes sense.
You know, owning assets all on chain,
you know, being able to move them around,
buy, sell that you don't have to do on a black market.
And then from there I was like, yeah, no,
I'm bullish crypto, bullish gaming.
Yeah, in World of Warcraft, I bought some money from from i think it's a service called ige
way back in the day it felt so sus it was just like some level one character came up and like
handed me some money and just like disappeared i'm like ah
yeah i can skype skype messages and then meeting them yeah in in random spots and corners. Oh, yeah. In ties.
I might have done that for MapleStory, too.
Don't ban my old account.
I've done that myself as well.
Let me add Dominic back onto the stage.
I've done that myself as well, real money trading.
And, you know, the funny part is, you know, how I end up in Nexon.
So the first game I played with Nexon was Kingdom of the Winds, like when I was like seven.
That was like my first online game experience.
And then like came MapleStory when I was like eight or nine, somewhere there, 2003.
And, you know, like Nexon back then, like 2003, they used to share the same building as my father's workplace.
And, you know, they used to be at the same building, like same very building, right?
And, you know, back then in the cash shop, we could purchase all these, you know, little decoration items to make your character cuters and everything.
And, you know, I was like nine years old.
I didn't know how much I was spending.
So I could back then, like in Korea, use my parents' mobile phones to charge the Nexen cash.
And, you know, I was spending hundreds of like on my mom and dad's mobile phone and they finally found out like why is my monthly mobile phone like 700 bucks like what what the
hell's wrong oh my dad actually i i don't know of course i don't know no idea and And my parents actually went down to the office, Nexon office, and got a refund.
Wait, do you keep the items?
My whole account was permabanned.
So that's my first MapleStray character got.
My first MapleStray character was permma banned by nexon oh no
yep so you're stealing your parents money that's all right
yep and you know eventually when i become like uh in my 20s when i uh started to play maple story
more than casually i i started to become you know one of the top I was like
top 0.003% yeah spending a lot of money in the game and you know one day I
thought I might want to recoup all this money back from Nexon and that's when I
apply for Nexon yeah but but money back. Get your money back.
Yep, but it turns out, you know,
all the money that I've made in Nexon is going back to Nexon for some reason.
That's how they get you, man.
So I'm basically like working as a volunteer,
like, you know, I'm working for free.
Just tell them, pay me in game. Just tell them, pay me in game.
Just tell them, pay me in game.
Just give me, like, 10% more extra.
It's not the cold value of time, right?
I will never buy a house.
If people have housing, I'll buy one.
Actually, is there housing in this game?
Like, you can get your own stuff like that?
Not now, but in the future, who knows?
We might actually build a housing, a guild house, like personal house.
That sounds great because you can't get a house in the real world.
But, you know, maybe it may be possible.
tried it, it wasn't easy.
Actually, some of us couldn't even finish till the end.
And actually, it's pretty hilarious.
Yeah, that sounds likely.
Okay, no more Mushroom Massacres.
I went to level 10 to 17 from this.
That's not usually the orthodox way of leveling up in MapleCurve.
That's a fun way we took.
Do you want to explain to the audience why our names are J2A8?
They have just created the account.
Actually, new characters.
There was something went wrong with their previous characters.
Couldn't really do much, and they just decided to create a new one.
So, you know, we haven't progressed to the stage.
We could mint everything.
So, hence their name, you name, D0W0.
Oh wait, I actually knew that after this challenge,
So this is the pet park, pet walking road.
You know, this is a starting point.
Our objective is to go all the way to the top.
Except maybe some recognition.
Oh, it's kind of tough, though.
Okay, let me show you how the boss do it.
Okay. Are we going do it, okay?
Are we going race, Keith?
Okay, I just have to get...
So it's only jumping, right?
Only the arrows and the jumping. Oh, that's only jumping, right? Yep, only jumping. Only the arrows and the jumping.
Oh, also, you're doing great.
No, I'm saying very good.
I can set up some obstacles for you.
That's going to be a tough one.
That's going to be a tough one That's going to be a tough one
Wait, where are you jumping?
You have to jump from the very edge
Only from the very edge of it
I'm just going to watch you guys fall
And then go after oh nice oh i see ah okay
i can do that i can do it no problem of course of course easy easy you guys are gamers yeah
that's one's a tough one careful tre. That's where a lot of people fall.
You gotta go in the wood?
Telling you to be careful and I fall.
Sorry, I'm watching you, Billy.
How did I get back to it?
Okay, so just come it? Come here.
I've faced harder challenges in my lifetime than jumping.
Wait, I can make it harder for you.
Dude, Travis, you're so good.
Just need a little warm up.
You're depleting our content.
Bro, this is the only content
that we have for next hour
but actually I used to do Junk Quest for friends
the like getting to win Raiders
I don't remember what the place is called it had cool music though The Zakum Jump Quest, the, like, getting to win Raiders.
I can't remember what the place is called.
It had cool music, though.
You know, you have to go up that way. Oh, I see.
You know where there's, like, Bigfoot and...
No, no, no, no, not the Yetis.
Let me see if I open up the world.
It's all the scary stuff.
Oh, Crimson Wood Castle castle yeah like at the top there's
there's a there's a there's a quest at the top like a guild party quest i think at the top
oh wait the reason why um i don't recognize this is because oh it's gms no. I think we have it in KMS too, but...
Oh, I haven't played this Crimson Wood before.
This content, by the time when I was playing MapleStory,
this Crimson Wood was so out of meta, I didn't play it.
There's this one crazy maze and jump quest you had to do with like this killer boulder that would just touch you and kill you um but if you made it it was
the best place to grind so it's a good guy that was a good to grind because no one else was there
one of the things yeah and i think i think if you cleared it like 50 times they gave you a rock
that let you skip it 50 times yeah you have to do some crazy yeah some crazy numbers to
okay i would like to apologize on behalf of that
for making you guys do that okay okay oh no i wanted to give you I wanted to show you how
No, no. I can do it myself.
No, no, no. We have still
like, I don't know, at least 40 minutes.
No, it's not that far away. It's really close.
The ground misses me. I feel like
it shouldn't just be the logs I can jump on.
Yes! So how do I do this? You got this. Yes. Nice. Yes. Yes.
So here, there are a stair that you can fall to,
After you fall, go back, and then move and jump.
I'm going to give myself a... We'll run out of contents in like 10 minutes, but okay.
Is there pretty places we can go after this?
Of course. Or even places maybe we can go after this? Yeah. Of course.
Or even places maybe we can't survive.
Try to avoid the scary monsters.
You guys guide us through, you know, like, you know, those games or those modes?
You got to keep us alive.
Oh, we're like the escort quest.
So that's my quest, not yours.
We have to take you guys from dying.
We have to be like the dumb escort quest
Just go move there. Just stay there.
You will just move anyway.
Okay. Right at the edge, jump.
This doesn't make it easier, I don't think.
I'm all the way at the bottom.
Okay, just imagine like you are like the BTC price. Don't fall yeah i'm not like the stock market currently yeah all right my money is being shredded by time you know by hours
let's go oh that would be the worst if if uh if the price of tokens relied on you doing jump things
the entire world economy is just us jumping
okay save the market please let's check the btc price it's 81k 81. No, Billy, it's fall to 81 now.
Oh, that stair is not there.
The second ledge there, the bottom ledge.
All I had to do was grunt.
No, I didn't get the second one.
Why can't it just jump when I think I'm supposed to?
This little jump is the trippiest
because you really got to be edge of the edge,
but you're hitting them quickly.
You're hitting them nicely.
Good, you made it. Then we go down here, You're hitting them nicely. Yeah. Okay. Good, you made it.
Then we go down here, go right, go left.
Okay, I'm at the bottom again.
Cool, cool. You're almost there. That's the easy parts left only. Oh, I'm at four. This looks hard. Cool.
I mean, you're almost there.
That's like the easy parts left only.
You basically can't mess up, right?
If you mess up, you're just terrible.
No! Oh, I think I got it. Yeah. You can't mess up there. It's terrible. No!
Does that mean I get a cat?
You should have brought your cat there.
This is a pet walking road.
But you didn't have cat, but you went up to the top anyways.
game, do you get pet closeness
a bad idea. Down jump was a bad idea.
Okay, Billy. Give me two minutes. I'll be up there in no time.
Okay, okay. I'm going to super focus.
I'm mad at this pet trainer, though, for not giving me a cat.
cat. He has three cats in his little pouch
He has three cats in his little pouch, and not giving me one of them.
not giving me one of them.
All I want is a cat and to
And let's actually confuse.
Yeah, I guess you're right about the top part
being the easiest in that bottom area being a pain.
Hey, but where's Dominic?
OK, let me put Dominic up.
Dominic, share your screen.
I couldn't clear the bridge.
You know, the second floor?
Yeah, there's one area that's...
Yep, that's the tricky part.
Wait, Billy is going down to save you.
Alright, let's see if I can do it again.
And didn't you say there's no reward for this? I feel like this is very rewarding.
I feel so much better about myself.
The thing itself is just rewarding.
The reward is feeling good about yourself.
Or you can charge your friends to do it.
I'm casually having some tea party over here.
at the top? My brother told me to take care
of the pet obstacle course, but
since I'm so far away from him, I
can't help but wanting to goof around.
Since I don't see him in sight,
might as well just chill for a few minutes.
Yeah, you hand me one of those cats, yeah.
Oh, there's a first, second, and third place stump here.
Yes, I mean, I'll just, I'll just,
I am technically second here.
Jeff is saying, I think Dominic is cuter than Pink Bean.
OK, as you guys are trying, i'll try to answer some of the
questions i am so hyped for msu thank you so much i am too uh when doge pet good question
should we make one oh should it be a prize at the top of this jump quest yeah doge pet not bad
at the top of this jump quest yeah not bad let me pre-play are we are we working on it
should we i think to say so
uh will the game launch come with an anniversary event will the game launch come with an anniversary event. Will the game launch come with an anniversary event?
Like, zero year anniversary?
Oh, the 29th April, the Meeple 3.
He ain't got no talent, I agree with you.
I don't know who you're referring to, but yeah, I agree with you.
I hope I can get more NXPC
before TGE. Same here, brother.
When will regular players
When we go actually live.
Which should be... Okay, someone pointed out last time I mentioned, like, very, very soon.
So very, very, very soon.
One more very for you guys.
We're going to beat up the pet trainer.
We're going to beat him up until we get some cats.
way to go oh nice i see the squad coming on the map no oh no no no yes all right the jump quest where you can like fail right at the end or the worst
where there's like a cliff right at the end yeah
are we all here first time at the top dominic
second time i did it like two weeks ago when I was alone.
Right, when you're practicing for this.
But every time it's just new.
You'll get used to it one day.
But actually that took us less than 10 minutes to complete,
By the way, Billy, you're on mute.
Maybe you're on phone call?
Billy's still playing. Billy, you know you're on phone call Billy's still playing
Billy, you know you're on mute
yeah, he probably heard it now
how did I get on mute? I've been talking this whole time
I have no idea how I got on mute
or I don't even know when I started getting on mute
I think at least for the last five minutes or so
that's so weird I think at least for the last five minutes or so.
Okay, well, what should we do next?
We don't have anything fixed for today.
Can we go exploring a little?
Yeah, let's go exploring.
Show us the coolest place you can show us.
But you guys are only beginners.
I cannot take you too far.
Let's go to sleepy woods.
How does the cat portal work?
If you know it, you know it. I see.
If so, feel free to ask questions.
Are we going to walk to Sleepywood?
Wait, what are you guys going to ready?
Oh, no, that's the game zone.
I just came in again to get Dominic out.
Dominic, you have a cat at the portal.
Yeah, push up on that cat down here.
Okay, this is a portal. This is a portal. Yeah, push up on that cat down here. This is a portal.
And then up again on this cat.
I think it's to the right.
I think it's to the right.
Wait, wait, wait. Yeah, two to the right i think it's the right wait wait wait yeah two to
the right to get to six paths and then we go no it should be it should be to the left actually
okay follow me follow me i know the way do you know the way i think think so. Let's see.
I remember when we were here.
So much better at jumping now, though.
Right now we have to go to the top.
Oh, there's a boss monster.
Two big mushrooms. Here we go.
So can you wait to go on this top thing?
Let's go to this middle place, the middle portal.
And here we are at the Sleepywood.
And actually, if you guys want to try harder monsters, you can come at the portal at the very right.
Don't jump into these monsters, okay?
All right. You got to take us deep
into sleepywood that's your guys quest keep us alive get us
yeah we can go a little bit. No, no, no!
You're a warrior, so at least you have to make a chance
Run! Okay. Go, go, go. Run, run, run, run. Run, run, run.
I don't think we go in this one.
We go in the further one, I think.
We're in this scary place.
You guys are all in one piece, right?
I'm spamming my W key, which is my potion key.
Okay, wait for them to spawn.
Nice. That was close. That was close. nice
or you could also down jump
I don't know if you just hold down and jump
that messes up the follow quest
okay okay I am the bad NPC that messes up the follow quest. Just standing heavy overall.
We're getting, wait, how far are we?
We still got a ways to go.
We still got a ways to go.
I didn't really thought I would have this new quest.
Yep. Esport quest. Travis. Okay. Good Esporting me. Yep.
No, I think it should be the one at the bottom.
Is that like the dinosaur's dying sound?
Okay, let's go down here.
Oh, wait, wait, wait. Let me go back and save you guys. Oh, wait, wait, wait. Let me go back
Okay, we're making it far.
I am glad I killed all of those
mushrooms in the beginning to have
Guys, clear. Oh, no, no, no. no oh look at that pro move
here go okay clear okay oh did we do it checkpoint we're at a checkpoint
okay to this portal top portal or bottom portal okay top top top top what's at the end of this place
uh there's a monster called junior balog okay let's see if we'll see one okay
oh guys i'm good i can just be at the top here. Yep. Smart NPC.
Now we got to be careful because they could be right at the door.
These dead monsters are hilarious.
Okay. Okay. Clear. As long as we stay up here we're good oh that was
okay clear clear but my drink's
maxed out? I don't know. I just put all points on mine.
But I also think just Thief
versus Warrior of mine goes... Jump!
Oh, wait, is that the boss there?
Yeah, it is the boss there.
we can do like one damage to it oh my god you just played it
i want to like eyes turn red okay nice but actually my mission is complete man Nice. Actually, mine isn't complete, man.
I escorted you guys to the deepest part of Sleepywood.
Why don't you guys just die and respawn?
Okay, I'm going to take a screenshot of this.
Luckily, our names aren't under it.
Yeah, just changed me. True, true, true.
All right, see you guys in Sleepywood.
That was an excellent side quest.
Guys, let's go to a quick sauna just to rewind.
Yeah, this is a hotel, Sleepywood Hotel.
You can talk to the receptionist and you can go to the VIP salon.
Will you take the galopi?
Do you could spawn monsters in here?
I mean, if I want to, yes, but no.
Oh, yeah. Splash. I want to, yes, but no. Oh, yeah.
Splash. I want to get you killed.
Let me move away all my pants okay i'm gonna find the most chill stuff wear a bathrobe at all times
i'm gonna get comfy up here.
This is where we just sit and chill.
How have you guys been building out
this version of the game?
Or I guess porting and adapting the game?
So we started building this November 2nd or 3rd of 2021.
I was in my 20s back then.
Unfortunately, I'm in my 30s
but yeah it's been like three and a half years uh building this that's crazy and then also is
it going to also be available on mobile like is maple story m also oh yeah so you know our our um nexon is thinking about bringing
all the you know maple story ip franchises to maple tree universe but you know you know after
having tried to you know not just you know it's not just porting on a game to a blockchain version
it's like you have to rebuild everything
like, you know, from inside out.
The only thing that stays is the superficial,
the visual, the sound layers.
So, you know, it takes a lot of rework.
So we're kind of choosing the priorities,
like which one should we, you know, do first?
And, you know, we have MapleStory World,
we have MapleStory Mobile, and so on.
I think in terms of priority, MapleStory World has a higher priority there, I think.
So, you know, I want to see all the builders to, you know, utilize MapleStory World to build their own contents with ease.
And, you know, I think that's going to be, especially with all the blockchain assets put together as a reward, you know, a business model in the MapleStory world, it's going to be a lot of fun, a lot of new opportunities for the builders and the community to really start building their own content.
Something, you know, that can not be done solely by us.
Oh, so you thinking that people can, like builders
themselves can build and add
a platform called MapleStory
World, which already went live
That's basically a platform where you can
just build the game from scratch
really, really easily, like using MapleStory
And all the hostings and everything are also paid by Nexon.
So there's a lot of game built in MapleStory World.
Actually, it's easily over 1,000 games there.
And some of them are really successful.
Some of the user-created games are having tens of thousands of concurrent users.
So it's doing pretty well.
They're running a big game company.
Many of them started small, like maybe like TeamOp3, TeamOp5, which grow to like TeamOp20,
So that's a platform that really makes building Maplestreet contents easier.
making Maplestree contents easier.
You know, having that new contents,
like seamlessly integrated with Maplestree N
would be a little bit of challenge
because we run in totally different clients.
But, you know, the Maplestree world itself is a client
where it can launch all the different worlds.
So we kind of think that it's easier to, you know,
it's easier to have this MapleStoryN run on MapleStoryWorld
rather than bringing those MapleStoryWorld apps to MapleStoryN.
So we're doing a lot of experimentations there,
how to connect these worlds seamlessly through a portal.
I mean, that's going to be really cool.
But that's something we are working on.
But yeah, Maplestrade World has proven itself very, very useful tool for you guys to build
your own contents, your map.
It could be a shooter game.
It could be a, you know, mud game.
It could be a, you know, whatever that you can build.
So try it out. I think it should be a whatever that you can build um so try it out i think it should be
available in web 2 already well what is exciting is that maple story word um gives you an access
to these those game assets like actual you know designed assets that you guys can work around
and the next space protocol actually gives you the actual, you know, the NFT assets so that people are going to be coming out with.
So we believe it's an even better version of the current MapleStory world
by integrating, by giving the blockchain layer on top of it.
Yeah, that sounds pretty cool. Basically, then you can carry over the stuff that you get from this to other worlds, I guess.
And, you know, like, really, you can actually build a doge land with MapleStory World.
Like, literally, with MapleStory assets and dodge assets.
That's going to be pretty cool.
You can actually create your own pet park
and challenge people to complete.
Imagine you charge, for example,
like you can try for 10 minutes,
the entrance fee is like five NXPC.
And if you manage to beat it in five minutes,
And a lot of people will challenge and fail.
Some people will make it.
I mean, all these things are bad.
And so I could have my character just stand there and harass people.
Be like, you're going to fail.
You're going to harass people all the time.
Create an MP that just randomly says things, like mean things to those challengers.
Like a drill surgeon. Like, you're a maggot, you cannot try, you'll fail.
That's a cool idea, though. It's like a little amusement park you can make for people.
Yep. And, you know, this is just small random things that I mentioned.
But you can really build some serious games as well.
In Maplestory World, you know World, actually in Korea, there is a classic
MapleStory server. Did you know that, Trevi? It's like those pre-Big Bang period. People have built
their own version of those classic MapleStory with MapleStory World and that server is seeing tens
of thousands of concurrent users, which is pretty cool. The team is doing a lot of work to expand their server.
They never thought it was going to be that successful.
And they're using the tool to build not only MapleStory, but quite a lot of IP.
So in Nexen Korea, MapleStory World is kind of expanding itself to not MapleStory World,
but more of a Nexen world kind of thing. So we're going to onboard
all the Nexon IPs and assets
you can build using those.
It's very easy and intuitive to build,
just drag and drop all these assets.
And it's just simple Lua coding, which
ChatGPT is awesome at helping
it's going to be fun. A lot of new contents are going to
In terms of coding or making stuff,
is there like a language or what would help people?
It should be a Lua script.
I don't know the technical stuff,
but I'm trying to think what I could set up.
A little store, a little bank.
Maybe set up an NXPC bank.
we have been quite conservative on
But, you. But increasingly,
about this with Dominic and
I think we should allow users to
deploy their own assets, their own
tokens, their own NFTs, their
to monetize them. But right
now, the complex part is, for
example, if you design something of is you know for example if you
design something of your own for example a dodge plus shiba shibado plus some part of maple assets
for example a mushroom or slime all these maple story kind of things and if you're going to
monetize all these licensing issues are pretty pretty damn complex yeah so so we're trying to
you know figure that out and i think we should be able to figure that out. And I think we should be able
to figure that out very soon.
Not to mention people might make some weird
I don't want to see naked people.
By the way, Dominic, you are naked right now.
Yeah. Like in Japan you're in sauna.
Like in Japan, it's like, you know, mixed gender sauna.
If there are, like, builder tools that allow you to make things based on existing things, perhaps, or something like that.
Just, like, things that aren't crazy new that is completely different, but you can kind of safely build some stuff. I think that would be really, really... Basically, any builder tools are awesome for users to have a community
and to keep incentivizing new building and new things all the time.
Those collective creativity, it's, you know, really the kick in this,
you know, universe ecosystem.
We cannot build everything by ourselves.
Way too slow, way less creative than it could potentially be
with all this collective creativity.
So yeah, 100%, that's what we are working towards.
And I'm pretty sure we have a room to allow more creators
to participate, especially the deco items.
It doesn't really have to do anything with the power inflation that we're trying to tackle here.
So I think a lot of people will be able to find some business chances even working with that assets.
it's all about community and all about
I think is the other thing.
If I remember MMOs properly,
World of Workout, everyone loves standing around
Ironforge or Ogremar and showing off other gear. Right. everyone loves to at least in uh world of work i've everyone loves standing around iron forge or
ogre mar and showing off other gear so right ways and people show off yeah the game games themselves
are becoming how can i say like community itself as you mentioned like even even these days like
people who are playing pub g um they if they are logged in for like, say six hours,
they only play the actual game for only about one or two hours.
They spend the rest of the time
just chatting with their friends
and about like stupid stuff in the game.
So, and I think it's really becoming like a metaverse
and I'm pretty sure we can do, you know,
something very similar to that.
I remember when, you know,
metaverse was becoming a big buzzword and, you know,
people are talking about, oh, you connect and all that stuff.
And I was like, well, World of Warcraft was a metaverse.
I just stood around and hung out with people
and we made our own stupid games to play
and scavenger hunts and dumb stuff to do.
We didn't just raid and do what you're supposed to do
Yeah, I mean, I even know, at least in GMS,
back in the day, there was a group of people,
or more than a group, a mob of people
that would always just hang out in Hennesses
and we called them Hennessy's.
And we'd call them Hennyho's.
I mean, some of them would be rich.
I mean, they'd look more like you guys than us.
Yeah, they'd just be chilling on their crazy chairs with their crazy flashy stuff.
But they would just never leave the town.
They're just chatting, never doing anything.
Yeah, it's always the biggest flex when someone whispers to you, like,
where'd you get that? You're like, hey.
Yep, yep. I was one of those
hanging. I was spending hours talking with friends
random skills here and there.
Jumping here and there like crazy
yep remember what's really funny to me is uh because i played world of warcraft for
seven or eight years and you know if i tell people who haven't played world of warcraft i'm like oh
man that was such a waste of time i spent so much time on a game i just you know lost my life but
then if i talk to people who did play we just kind of reminisce about how awesome it was.
I remember doing this, I remember doing that.
This wasn't a waste of time. This was awesome.
And actually, that taught me a lot.
I was scammed, and I scammed people.
The first half happened to me.
I don't know what the second half happened.
The best defense is offense.
Some of the offense. like three or four times you get scammed you kind of realize i have to get my
money back no actually actually my biggest scam as a kid wasn't mabel's story and i remember the
guy's name his name was i ruthless and i like i i have it ingrained in my head wow you had like a
board with his face i was 13 i think i nearly cried i worked so hard i had to like some guy
said if i paid him he'd help me kill a boss exactly he'd help me clear the big boss and
give me a helmet i paid him he just ran away he's like thanks kid and then uh after that i was i've
never been scammed again.
Like, I've never been, like, even on crypto.
Like, I was, like, never again.
In the real life as well, right?
You know if something sounds too good to be true.
Like, I have been there in MapleStory.
If I see that guy again, though, if I see that IGN one more time, I'll get him back.
Okay, guys, like, watching the stream, you guys know how to get him back. Okay, guys.
Watching the stream, you guys know how to
piss Travis off. You remember
Make it and go find Travis.
Maple Story taught us a lot of things.
playing this game when we were barely early in the teenage,
so yeah, a lot of new learnings,
a lot of meeting new friends.
First experience where you realize
you can meet people outside of real world.
MapleStory came with the emergence of internet.
So it was one of the first generation online games. So you have a lot of good memories. I don't really think it's a waste of internet. So it's one of the first generation online games.
So you have a lot of good memories.
I don't really think it's a waste of time.
By the way, now finally I'm getting paid
That was the dream as a kid too.
And for me, I think why MapleStory was actually, like, I lean more to playing MapleStory.
I don't come from, like, a very tech family.
I come from more of a sports family.
So we had, like, an old computer in our house.
And MapleStory could run on it.
Some of the other stuff, not really.
stuff not really um so it was like it was like a low impact enough game that i could enjoy it
you know without having a strong computer or anything like that uh as a great so that's also
what i don't like is casual enough to to just kind of whip up you don't need a four thousand dollar pc
um to play it 100 you know i remember like back back in the, right, when GTA 3 and Vice City was the thing, I needed to have my graphic card updated in order to play, or it's going to keep crashing every 10 minutes.
MapleStory was running fine.
I remember those old times.
I want to play Grand Theft Auto.
Get me a new graphic card, Dad. Like, no.
I'm not going to buy you the manslaughter
My parents didn't like games like that either.
It was perfect for MapleStory for my childhood.
But even if you buy a fancy
computer, you're still going to just play MapleStory,
It's like, I'll play with
if you have 5090, you know, MapleStory
start playing in 3D. Did you know?
on 300 frames per second.
This is a pretty cool experience.
Oh, but maybe it'll help with the jump second. This is pretty cool experience.
But maybe it'll help with the jump quest.
That was a good one hour of chatting and trying out
different things with you guys.
I think we should do one more quick stream,
like when you guys have time before this test server
this test build should be over
in a matter of a few days.
Wink, wink, if you guys know.
So guys, let me know, Billy.
If you're going to stream, if you're going to play,
I'll be there. I'll be playing with you guys.
Sounds great. No, I'm right. I'm looking forward to it.
Thanks, guys, for doing this. Thank you, Billy.
Travis, I appreciate your all-time loving post on X about MapleStory Universe.
And all those viewers, you know, I've been saying this many, many times,
but, you know, MapleStory is really one more step towards the launch.
I know you guys are really, really waiting.
And we have been working very hard to bring
make it available for you all.
We are cleared on a lot of issues.
to play very, very, very,
Thank you. Have a good rest of your day.
Have a good rest of your day
all right thank you viewers bye thank you everyone for watching thank you everyone for watching ciao
