Hello everyone, welcome, welcome to our Twitter space, with Coinas. We are so excited to get this Twitter space underway and talk all things Coinas. And also the great track that they're going to be having NFT and YC Games Jam. I'm going to pass the link over to Tracy right now.
Hello, hello, hello everybody! I'm actually at Setters build now the venue that we're going to have the games jam out and it's looking fantastic. We're testing out the projection mapping and it's going to be completely dope but first things first let me welcome Koyna
Yeah, this is a joint to the space. I'm just gonna just run through a little bit about NFT games jam. So NFT games jam is a hybrid hackathon happening on the 10th to 11th of April in NYC before the official start of NFC.
So we're excited to bring together 100+ developers, creators, designers, experts working at the intersection of web 3 gaming and infrastructure. If you still haven't signed up now, we are accepting remote applications as well.
emotions as well so you can always work with the team of sites. We'll be hacking here on site obviously on the 10th and the 11th. But without further ado let me welcome the rep from Coinest. Do you want to
introduce yourself. Sure, hey everyone. My name is Ron. I'm the Theo Coinos group and we are a brand new layer one blockchain launch and November 5th of last year. We're super excited, super happy to do it. We're doing this games. Yeah.
with her Dow. And I guess I'll give a little bit of a background about us and what we've been doing and where we're at right now. So we are most of the team members on the coinos.
engineering as well as our CEO Andrew are from the steam blockchain and three years ago after trying to cover steam we all decided that we wanted to do something else something different so we
We worked on Kino's, we decided we wanted to create a new layer when Block came at. It solves a lot of the problems that we see in the space right now. And one of the problems that, one of the immediate problems that we noticed is that projects that launch with
ICOs and pre-sales and all that kind of stuff A get themselves into trouble with SEC and B tend to I want to say under deliver or take a really long time to deliver so we launched our blind
with a fair mining launch on Ethereum, very similar to Bitcoin, and we didn't pre-mine or give ourselves any tokens. And we funded our own endeavor by our own
ourselves. And we've been working for three years building the coin of SplacChain, building on top of the lessons that we learned at STEAM. The engineering team is very, very experienced, very high level engineers with tons of ideas. So we baked a whole bunch of stuff in
into the blockchain, you know, the most prominent of which is the free to use aspect of the system. We were able to create brand new kind of brand new consensus algorithm called proof of burn, which is
Very much like proof of work, but with some of the benefits of proof of stake it kind of marries the two in a way where it's very beneficial. By the way, our CEO Andrew is here as well. I would love
to throw that over to him to give a little bit of an overview of why we did this and how we got to where we are now. Andrew, you want to take it?
Yeah, sure. Yeah, happy to take over and
Thank you all for putting this together and the hackathon. So yeah, I mean, what it kind of comes down to is that when we started out,
Well, first we were all working on the steam blockchain, which was the world's first fearless blockchain. And we saw how much value developers and end users were getting out of a blockchain where they didn't have to pay fees. That project
was eventually taken over by Justin Sun and so we all left at that time to start our own thing and learn from all of our lessons and build something that could really bring blockchain to the masses and what it came down to
For me, and I think the rest of the team as well, is the analogy you can think of is imagine it's 2001, but you had to pay a penny every time you visited a webpage. Would the internet have gone viral?
We think the answer is no. And so when you looked at all the other blockchains and why they weren't being mainstream adopted, you could blame it on scalability. You could blame it on not picking the right programming language or not as
having enough throughput. But at the end of the day, you're not just charging a penny for visiting every web page. You're charging much more than that. And it's not just a penny, it's volatile. And that volatility dramatically amplifies the poor
user experience of blockchains. And so we started building coinos and this company to because we're going to have more products than just the blockchain to solve that problem for blockchain.
Awesome. So like another thing that we want to know is like, you know, how how is it actually going? You know, it's pretty hard work to set up a whole project to network, you know, to build a community. We've noticed a week how strong your community is and it's I didn't so joy to see. So
like it looks like it's going pretty well. So like if you could tell us some of the highlights of the journey and like any cool stuff you've got coming out. Yeah, absolutely. It does feel like it's going extremely well, especially giving
been the macro and fire. It's like the world's on fire and things have never been better for us. But that's because we spent three years building this thing right, launching it the right way with a proof of work, fair minds,
you have this egalitarian distribution that really fed well into our egalitarian consensus algorithm. So anybody, and literally anybody can come in and begin running a node and begin burning coin by burning
coin. And so all this stuff really works well together to help sustain a really thriving community. We've got a DEX coin DX is launching
very soon. We've got an NFT marketplace launching very soon. The coinos count protocol is launching very soon. So, you know, these are very good dApps. We've already got between 10 and 20 dApps on mainnet several
and FT collections. So yeah, as other projects are dying, we just keep growing faster and faster because it's just so easy to use. And I think philosophically, people believe in what we're doing and the way that we're doing
it. And there's just there's just endless opportunities in coinos and you can you can develop in the programming languages you already know with TypeScript smart contract and which really makes but we also but our microservice
architecture, GRPC, Google's protocols, all of these things enable people to work in the programming languages that they already know and love on many levels because it's really not all about your smart contracts. And so what we've done is
Like what we really, part of what it comes down to for us is delivering the way that we think about it is we want to deliver a web to user experience.
to web 3 applications. And what the way that you do that kind of paradoxically, because like every other project has taken the approach that if you want to build web 3, you almost have to take a web 1.0 approach to it.
And they're kind of like building all the tooling from scratch. And so it sucks. And instead of what we did with coin os as we we built it so that we could take advantage of all of the amazing web 2.0 technologies. It's state of the art technologies like proto-bond.
like GRPC and what that enables us to do is to create that Web2 user experience which of course really complements the free to use design just like Web2 and so that's led to this completely organic
We've done zero paid marketing, zero. And so it's all been natural growth of the community, which was slow at first and I think a lot of people
would have liked for us to kind of supplement that, but this is how you build a really strong foundation, which I think is now starting to lead to explosive growth. I think we're at the beginning now of an explosive growth curve.
Awesome. So let's go on to the hackathon, like the hack track, right? So do you want to explain what your track is and the sort of things that you want to see from the hackers?
I'll take that for you want to take it Andrew. No, please you do. So we're super excited about seeing what hackers can do
on coinos and we've set up basically two tracks that we want to follow. One is just for a basic blockchain game implementation which we feel is a little bit open-ended but it gave
developers freedom to come up with very imaginative ideas. And the second one is the most innovative NFT gaming contract where really, I think Kono's the blockchain is very
good for gaming, for building games, especially since it's free to use, it's really good for gaming. So we feel like a very innovative smart contract can be written on top of coinos that might not be able to be written on other
So we're very interested to see what developers come up with during these tracks. We've put up 10,000 tokens as a prize, which is, it's right
like, let's say like $7,000 or so. So we think that it's a pretty cool prize for someone who could come up with some innovative gaming solutions on blockchain.
Yeah, can I just sorry? Can I just pause real quick? Because I think well Ron said was exactly right, but one thing I just want to highlight anyway who might not be familiar with coinos is that the way that we achieve our free-to-use experience is through a mechanism we call mono and that's based off of
of gaming. And the idea is that basically using the blockchain has a game like Experience where basically how much coin you hold, you get a certain amount of mana but your mana regenerates. So as you use the blockchain, your mana to indels, but as you don't use it, it regenerates. And I think that like when
And Ron talks about an innovative game. One idea could be something that just really plays off of that mechanic. But it can fit into games, any kind of game really easily because game gamers are used to that, that monomechanic.
I'm going to run through for anyone listening who is wondering what else is on at the hackathon. Obviously, co-inists have one of the major tracks that people are very excited about and already
have hacking teams working on preparing for right now hackers who are coming to our builder house actually so that's like super exciting we also have a polygon open innovation track so you know you can
you can build on polygon using this AK-EVM mainnet. That's like $2,000 prize. There's an accumulator NFT design prize for the prize pool of like $1,000 so you just design an NFT and then hand it
I mean, these these tracks are for artists who obviously aren't techy, but we we wanted to bring in everybody, you know, and you could also obviously use the coiness coiness mainnet for that as well. You have
a game, a music track, a price pool of another thousand dollars. So again, you can create a music, you can mint it and then hand it in. We have XMTP price pool of a thousand dollars
So that's open innovation, that's the best user, XMTP messaging, so they just want you to be creative in those like applications. We also have done this thing where we've invited a lot of
communities to come in and devise a track and it's a way for them to engage with developers that they really probably don't have the budget for and to just widen their development community base.
So one of them is the gallery down when they're doing artificial intelligence, which is an open AI gaming innovation challenge for the price pool of 1500. Part of that price pool is actually a prompt engineering course because prompt engineering, believe it or not, is
going to be a massive industry, for AI solutions that is and the Metaverse Summit have constructed a Metaverse empowered by AI track. So that track, their price pool is worth
7,000 is just encouragement hackers to utilize state-of-the-art AI technology to create metaverse tooling and they're giving away five startup VIP passes and then Web 3 Beach which is a really dope refi project
have an open innovation challenge with a price pool worth two and a half thousand but like the price is up to four scuba courses, free accommodation and you get to go to their festival in Honduras. So
That's actually a dope prize. So like the rest of the program in NFT NYC is actually going to start with a VC salon. If people don't know already that this hackathon is partnered with the co-organizers are AvesLayer.
I think they actually also invested in coinus and we are doing a VC salon, I'm calling it. So we start with a VC founder breakfast, a lot of companies are coming, a lot of companies and founders
coming through, then we're doing a VC panel and then we're doing a VC pitch competition and you know we're gonna do sponsor workshops and then close off with a partly on well partly I say
happy hour on the second day. So as I said if anyone wants to join the FAAD please do sign up you can go to door hacks where you can go to the herd out website and sign up over there. Okay Andrew or Rob do you want to
Talk a bit more about coinus or any cool action.
Sure, I think we can talk about, Andrew, can we talk about Coyneau's Pro and what we have planned for that? Yeah, sure. I mean, we've got a lot of exciting stuff coming up, so definitely follow Coyneau's network on Twitter and
the Koynos Group on Twitter. Koynos Pro is the product that Ronald alluded to, well, now he stated it, but yeah, Koynos Pro is going to be our SaaS platform.
It's kind of like in Fiora, but for for Klanos and so that's going to be a really valuable toolkit for developers that's going to make it faster and easier for them to launch Klanos applications. We're also planning to dedicate much more
There are many more resources and attention to developers, especially game developers and helping them build their games on Coinos. So if you're a game developer, definitely stay tuned or better yet even reach out to us with any questions that you might have about building on Coinos.
It's already super accessible, super low cost to build on coinos. You can build TypeScript smart contracts using the assembly script SDK, because it's free to use, doesn't really cost you anything already to launch on it. So there's tons of opportunity
be there. And yeah, we're super accessible, the team behind it. So if you have any questions, if you'd like our assistance in any way, it'll hesitate to reach out to us. And I honestly think that that's a really huge deal because good luck getting the attention
of the developers of Salana or Polkadot or Polygon. Not that these are bad projects. The point is that it's just really hard to get anyone on one time with the actual developers of the blockchain. But because we're developing these products, which are all about delivering amazing
tools to developers, we're actually really eager to connect with those developers, understand their pain points so we could productize the solutions to those pain points. Anything I missed from you? Nope. We're doing the work some
on Monday. So if anyone is interested, I will be at the location on Monday. We'll be doing a work-top. Also, we have a really good Discord server with a bunch of really awesome community members and also the team is on there constantly. So we encourage any developers to join that
and you can very easily access us through there. There's some community members who are really knowledgeable about the Coino's network and programming so they can help you give you an assistance. And we're today I published a blog post on our website how to simply create a simple assembly
You know, even if you're a front end developer and you've developed websites in the past and you just use JavaScript, it's really easy to jump in, set up your dev environment and write a simple smart contract and then deploy it to the blockchain.
It doesn't take long, you know, take 10 minutes to a half hour to deploy a smart contract to the blockchain in TypeScript. So we think that's super exciting. Great. So as you said, there's sponsor workshops in the afternoon from
one o'clock on Monday. So please if you're definitely hacking, then make sure you attend those. Herdout or HD Games also has a discord as well. So please if you're looking for a team, get
there we're going to be pumping that up a bit more over the over the weekend and more hackers who are joining will be there but if you want to ask any questions about team formation or any questions directed towards a team or or or any sponsor projects please
please please come and ask us over there. We have a few minutes left if anyone wants to say anything put your hand up otherwise you know I'll just I'll just reiterate the the details of the hackathon so it's an in-roll like
hackathon predominantly at settlers, birthplace. We're going to start at 9am. In the actual venue, we're going to have some VC events, so come in and have breakfast with us and the VCs who will then have a panel.
Everyone can get started hacking and the mentors will be here. So if you want to start hacking at 9 a.m. sharp, don't worry, come down. We're going to be able to start hacking. There's also going to be a few quiet spaces that you can go to as well.
Obviously when you come in when you come into the venue you'll identify yourself as a hacker if you're gonna be hacking online Obviously, you know everyone's gonna be signed up to the door hacks website as well, but please join the discord as I said that will will be able to help you through that
mentors will be on the discord throughout the whole Pakistan. So yeah we're just about wrapping up. It's been a lovely speaking to you, Andrew and Robb from Coinas. Call away to meet you in person. It's going to be a great day. We were a great couple of days
We've got a bunch of hackers coming down that we've given grants to who were really excited to hack him and I know some of them are hacking on Coinas, so we'll definitely be your discord as well asking a lot of questions. So yeah, I'm gonna wrap this up.
up now, lovely having you all. You know, please promote the hackathon on Twitter, tell your friends to join. We have quite a few signups already. There's well over 120 people signed up already. So, you know,
the more the merrier. So as I said, thank you very much. For instance, I'll speak to you when I get off the Twitter space and thank you very much everybody for coming. I look forward to Monday. Happy hacking everybody. Thank you. Thanks guys. Bye.
