You know the rules and so do I. You can make me smile, you can't love me. You wouldn't let this go. And you have to go to my heart, you just wanna tell you, you'll be here today.
I'm gonna say I'm a robot and I'll teach you. I'm gonna give you a butt. I'm gonna grab the sick man and I'm gonna hold you back. I'm gonna say I'm a robot.
Oh my god.
Okay kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill it. Oh my god. Okay, I'm gonna give you a...
We got Rick Rolls. We just got Rick Rolls in the Paloma AMA. Oh my god. Dear you here. Cool. Cool. Are you here? Cool. Did we just get Rick Rolls? We got Rick Rolls in the
nest. Never gonna give you up, recastly. Thank you, Paloma, and welcome back. This is our November 30th, and we've been at this game. So we first started our first release on Paloma in June 24th. It's now
November. June - November is how many months? Oh my god, I can't count. Wait, is it just five months? It feels like it's been five years. Take a guess. I know, right? It's five crypto years. Hey, and Erkau
>> Welcome, Erkond. We see you there in the chat of the AMA for Twitter. Thank you. One of our rock star validators in the community validator set. So thanks, everyone. Welcome back to Paloma's AMA. This is the last AMA we're doing of this type. Because like we said, you can't do AMAs as a UI.
US company up with a public blockchain because it may be construed as a common enterprise and making a security. And since we don't want to go to jail because God bless America, we'll be ending these and we'll be making a switch. But we're just going to, you know, just go over. Thanks.
the Polymer community. Thanks for all the validators on the testnet. It's amazing. We've had 13 iterations of this testnet. We still have many more to go, but we are still here and we are shipping. So, welcoming to Paloma. What is Paloma? Paloma is cool.
Google, Google, Google, Primalist Shunosh Krosch, Jane Messaging Protocol, secured by 10 minute Cosmos SDK, and Paloma aims to be fast low latency and fast attestation from the validator set. We do this via something called a marriage where all the validators are sort of
married to the Paloma, married to Jim's diploma, because we want a validator to be a signer on the transaction. So validators are relayers, and that means that we get the maximum security. We are aiming to be one of the fastest and most secure across January layers. And if you remember,
the Binance hack, although the Binance hack was unique, really it was done because one of the reliers were not slaschable, so reliers could badly behave and not have any consequences for it. So if your relier network has no consequences for reliers and they can quit and do the job, we think that makes the system harder to
to perform at a standard. So, Paloma is taking the position. Validators are relayers. As a result, because they're mandatory layers to have to perform or be jailed, they usually have the best relayer software and the best relayer hardware and the best data centers because they have validators.
That means you got 175 relayers in the Plymouth network that are always on and always ready to go. We think this is a unique approach. Question will be whether or not it's the best approach for relaying technology yet to be seen. Also, by doing this, we create an open market, fee market for validators. Right now, the volume team refunds.
We want to make it such that validers feel that this is an attractive market and they can make money. They can make some grants by sending some messages. Okay. Let's just again, a special shout out to
to all the Tesla validators you are here without incentives. It's insane. But you're still with us. We've lost a lot of, we lost some pigeons along the way. And we've had some new pigeons come in. So we've been seeing a lot of new folks coming into validators and trying to be validators this last week. Welcome all. There are
are still some bugs. This is not bug-free software. This is Alpha software. So there are still bugs and we even have a broken system. Let everybody know. Just a reminder, Paloma did not deploy to Ethereum and Binance smart change. It's about nobody's yelling at me for their refunds. It's because we've
found out why it's a bug. It's a pain in the ass, so we were learning about why some of these bugs are here. But it's still alpha software, which means that we also may have to change architecture. We're seeing that we may have to make some architecture changes, and we're working on those. This is why we've been a bit quiet after the last because
we have to make some big changes. So we're going to talk about Pulumma SDK. We're going to talk about those changes on architecture side today or working on white things that are been quiet. We're going to talk about the wallet and we're going to talk about proposals. Proposals are back and how we're aiming to get proposals
us to warm up for what essentially may be the big proposal, that big egg in the sky. So let's get started. Okay, so everybody knows, Paloma did not deploy to, if you're a main net and Paloma deployed to buy an smart chain, but validator sets of dates are not happening. What happened? Well, it appears
that we've been, so what we've been doing is we've been spinning up a private testnet for Coloma, so thank you Vera and team, and why did Vera talk about the private testnet and what we found on that because if those really Vera's hard work Vera, you want to tell us more about what we discovered in the private testnet?
Sure, yes. So we basically just want to practice that. We know that is not open to anybody. So, um, Genesis, etc. are not shared publicly. Um, and we did that so that we could really control, um, what
What was happening on the network that we don't have anybody who is maybe running different software or something and they're set up that may interfere with what we're seeing. And most importantly, we also connected our logging system. We currently use Nurellig to the Paloma and pigeon software on all pre-machines.
So that way we could really see exactly what was happening at every block and every message that was being sent and every era that was being captured. Wait, wait, wait. What about 15-minute donuts for puzzles? Yes, I have to make things more
faster. So yes, governance proposals only take 15 minutes. Also, we reduced actually the amount of eith and bnb you have to hold in each chain so that we don't get slowed down by refunds. So yeah, they get true, a true playground, if you will.
And one thing that we found was that when we did the exact same thing and also obviously we then replayed everything exactly as it happened on the public test net, the order of the proposals and roughly the timing, discounted for the much shorter time period.
we saw some errors in the pylomologs that let us to believe that there was something going on with pigeon. So then the next step was to downgrade pigeon and replay the whole time again. And then we actually saw that the contract was deployed to both chains. So to be in being
as well as to Euthaminate, whereas before when we did exactly everything exactly the same way that was done on the public testnet, we saw the exact same errors. So now we know there's something that happened in the pigeon upgrade between 0.91 and as you're point 11,
[inaudible]
You're either. I think I was getting. Yeah. We were coming into the choppy there. Yeah. Okay, go ahead.
Here is just me. So I'm kind of choppy.
Yeah, are you on Wi-Fi or you on data?
And I got bars. I will try to find a new spot.
All right, so while we are spining the new spot, I'll just add it to that. So we have we upgraded pigeon on 9/1 to 11 mainly because our validators, again, this was a feedback from the validators, they were like, bro, the egg hunt, sorry, every very remember the egg hunt. We did the we did the we did the open sea egg egg competition.
for generating eggs on Ethereum via Paloma on the Cosmos side. And if you recall while we were doing the egg event, one of the things was that the egg transactions, the EGM, gas fees were really high. And we were reflecting people the gas, but the validators who were participating
were like, hey guys, the fees are really high. So we decided to implement EIP155.9 into the transaction signing for the eggs. And of course, by doing so, what we thought was going to be a simple change for pigeons to change this
Now I ended up seeming to now break signing or shining verification on the Paloma side. So we are now looking to essentially weigh some fears down a grade and test on our private test net. We now have essentially an over tracking better which features and which upgrades are
actually now impacting the new version of vision. Now of course you could always say hey well didn't you do that in the beginning? Now what you do you test the stuff? But because we're crazy pigeons we test and prod. We figured out you know this has been a problem that has been a regression that was not coming to life.
So what we're seeing again, we've had a host of upgrades, we went really, really fast. Remember we were doing weekly releases, I don't remember that, that was just like nuts. We're doing weekly releases, weekly upgrades, and now we're paying with a technical debt from essentially some of these upgrades.
Now, we're going to be doing this working on upgrading the transaction types for better EEP, EIP, 155, and handling, but also, in addition to, of course, separating out our relay keys. We talked about that.
last week. So we're still working on getting relayer keys into the system so that now validators will have relayer keys, which will be separate from their validator keys so that signing transactions on the cosmos side that will then be sent over to the cross-chain side or target-chain side
any EVM and any cosmos chain will be separate keys so that we don't have collisions or proposal non-stale proposal non-stale proposal non-stale causing problems. All right, so that is
where we are in Cosmos SDK and congrats to VR for having a private test net. So now that we have a private test net, it means that we can now test upgrades even more robustly, which is what we should have been doing, we're so excited. So we're able to test upgrades more robustly and essentially run it
And of course, the next goal is to have these as automated private testless deployable with transactions that run so that we can go into end-to-end testing without having to miss a beat. So we're super excited about it. And this is what we do. We break things. So yes, we do not have a new release coming out tomorrow because we're still working on re-architecting
and upgrading for these new bugs that were identified. However, we're doing some exciting work. We're continuing to document the pigeon module. If anybody wants to -- I'm not going to need to stop and say the goal of the documentation
So, we want to really get people to become fully aware of how this really software hotness works so that people can, again, contribute ideas. I think one of the things we're learning is because we've been moving so fast, we're not getting enough
And we're going to do function and logs. And we've been agonizing on it. And so when we release it, anybody can go into Pigeon Sew. It works. Forkid, go to the next page.
continue to improve on it or you can make suggestions and changes. And I think that's one thing we want to do is get everybody full visibility into what the code does and how it works. So that is coming as well. Maybe we might have some initial releases at the end of this week, but we will be working on that. So at this week also we debug discord
So it's back working. Also, Paloma, the Paloma Foset has a nice web page, so that's pretty cool. Because we have more things coming, but we can't talk about them, right? I can't talk about them. So what I would say is, yes, the Foset now works. All right, let's move on.
So we're moving on from core, which is all about transaction signing upgrades and all about debugging and documentation. Now back to wallet and there's a lot of wallet work that has happened. So, here may I, may you come back and talk about
What's happening in the wallet? Yeah, we hear you now Great Yeah, so you already mentioned the wallet sorry the faucet Obviously you can access directly from the wallet and Senate receive great
Also just a reminder again that please leave us a review in the Chrome store. We've seen a few pigeons already leaving a nice review and also leaving their address. So if you do leave a review. I was just looking at this review and seeing all these folks.
I'm like, that is so cool. And we need to tell Google that they should put us, you know, like how a special section where you can leave your address for every review that you write. But I would just want to interrupt and say, wow, community, listen, you know, you birds are amazing. Just give yourself some wing flapping. Cool.
So putting those addresses in there. Hey, man, somebody should send you a stuff. So yes, thank you very much. And how many reviews do we have so far? There seem to be 13, although
the small community. Maybe the reviewer took down again. So I'm trying to figure out what's happening there. If that's something that's some weirdness on the Google side itself. Because I've gotten more, I've seen some notifications come through and
I don't find them on the Chrome store. So I don't know what that means, but I'll look into that. Got it. All right. Well, we have 13 reviews. 16, I see 13 online. It says added. Okay.
There are 42 users. This wallet has 42 users. Oh my god. My goodness. All these reviews are helpful. As any review for which I see a philoma address, it has been helpful. Let me give you that. Yes. If I see an address, it's helpful. If there's no philoma address, it's not helpful.
I want to read you a little bit. I don't see a problem address. You're not helpful. I need to give me an address so I can be like, yes, this is very helpful. Okay. So, very cool. So what we're going to do with the addresses? Well, we have a proposal up. So, pip number, wait, the problem, what pip is this?
I think pit nine, pit nine, put them in improvement proposal number nine is to do a community spend proposal for delivering test night grants not real money, mind you, so people need to calm down, it's not real money, deliver test night grants to the addresses that are listed in the
in the Google Chrome store. And since I'm only seeing three addresses. The goal is that we want to be able to say, hey, thank you for such great reviews. Let's test it out. So we want to be able to test the wallet. And we're going to send them grains specifically.
specifically to test the software. This is not about giving away money and this is not about incentivizing the test. This is simply about allowing people to get grains to test the software, test out the wallet and to share their feedback. So please allow us to give you some test and a grain
the test. But of course, if you're really thinking ahead, you're thinking about ways that one of the problems we talked about, I think in the early days, I think I remember one user got really mad at me, said, "Why don't you do it and incentivize test that? How are you going to distribute grains?" And I said, "We do not know how we're
going to distribute grains. But if you understand that having people do work and put up reviews where it matters, it's something that should be acknowledged, I think we're thinking more along those lines. It's less about just randomly distributing the
So again, I'm more about making short distribution aligns with helping the community grow and helping the network gain visibility. So we're just, again, we're a test net, right? You can't do much with the plumber wallet, but we're very proud to have 42 users. That's amazing. We're very proud to have
have the reviews and I think pit 9 is acknowledging that hey let's start expressing that pride by giving people grains where they could continue to test. So it's going to be a community spend proposal. So beautiful thing, community spends on on on customers. What does that mean? Well that means that you know
So I never block, I never block reward is something called community tax. Right now on Pulumma, it's about 2%. What happens is 2% of every block reward of X-Greens essentially I think block reward right now is around 3% to 7%.
And so we have, we have some grains in the community pool. And so why not spend the test and the community pool to those people who are leaving their diploma address on the reviews. So we're going to do that. And yesterday we were testing out the governance proposal. So again, what we're doing is we're going to do that.
with these delivery of this proposal, this testing governance testing ability to set that and also testing our community pool size. One of the main things that main net we want to do is have a really substantial community pool so that the community can get grants and essentially access to more grains to continue to build.
and extend the network. We really want to delegate a lot of this work out to the community and to folks who are with us here. So we're going to, I think we should have a proposal up. It will be pretty. The proposal is up. What we're going to do is have a vote. And so I think the vote should end up today.
We should allow us to spend money from the community pool, exercise that effort, learn how we can make sure to do that right so we can do more proposals like these in the future. So we want to thank community member, Andri. We see your review and we see your poll on address. There we go. And we see your thoughts on the email.
I'm afraid the community's fed proposal to send the test ground grains to you. So good shot there. They're early sent us back looking at the cost most community proposals commands last night. We're really working on making sure we got them right. So we think we have a hold and a handle on it. So we should be able to get a boat up. But really,
what this means is that Genesis needs to be updated so that the community pool is robust. At main, we don't want to have the community pool be an afterthought. It's very, very important. So that's an important effort for us as part of this governance proposal. We're also warming up. So this community proposal is a warm up
So I can't tell you what will come after the warm up, but like you say, you know, we've not done proposals in a while on the cosmos side on the upgrade side because we're debugging, but we want to get in our governance proposals up and running because, you know what, opportunity is knocking and it's time to really do some more
with the polymer test that we have. So looking forward to it. All right. So that takes care of pit number nine. And if folks have ideas for pit 10, pit 11, please let us know. And we'll continue to see what's happening there. I just want to say also a shout out to the wallet team.
Vera, Joyce, Jack, you guys are rock stars. The polymer wallet is awesome. And I know that you have, you know, I can't wait to use it for all the other news things that may or may not come. I can't talk about. But the wallet is
is key and as people, you know, as the network comes online, the wallet will be a central focus for doing stuff on Paloma. So, great job to get the initial version out. This is not the final version. A lot more stuff is happening. All right. So, time is now 8.30. That's
for today, our last AMA, publicly marketing event, going forward, like I said, we're just going to do updates on the blog, but we may have a replacement event coming in, we're working on what that replacement event should be, but again, what we want to do is focus on the community.
community focus on folks are doing to help build and help make Paloma happen. So if you're interested, let us know. And if you're interested, keep a look out, keep us in a discord on Telegram. We will have, I'm sure, new things coming to
So just remind you, we can't say stuff about what's coming on the software and give people updates because then they may think at main net, you know, the AMAs are essentially investor updates. And so we want to avoid being perceived as giving anyone an investor update, not that we have any plans to go through.
or may net why would we do such a thing but this is our last so with that we say thank you did I forget anything did I say anything no we're complete we're complete all right so valid
There's hangin' there more to come. Proposals are coming, upgrades are coming. Thank you. Coo the music. Coo.
