Okeena Okeena started was kind of crazy back in fuck 22
Popped into a discord. So kind of a steezed out board eight bright swagged out grills tattoos
the art was absolutely ridiculous though and started bouncing around on the discord and trying to figure out what the fuck was going on and
So get to know this guy named Brian V
And Brian's an interesting cat right? Like he's here, you know
typical web 3 artists because he's
Built and developed a construction company. So obviously those two things go together
But no, he happens to be really impressive with his artwork
super detailed I think to the point of craziness for me and Alejo sometimes on the perfection that he's looking for and
He started just drawing these customized one-on-one apes and it started as this small community
But started to grow a little bit bigger and people started to see him
I think at one point we had ape selling for 10 East
And so that ultimately became the Genesis collection, which is 444 hand-drawn one of ones
And what's cool about them is they're they're curated artwork you
Essentially purchased a token and you get to do a one-on-one piece in collaboration with Brian V
So it's not Brian just drawing whatever he wants, but he's working with you to
Create, you know different
Tattoos or styles or colors or whatever it might be that's important to you
And so you really do get this unique piece
That you were a part of the process and that was one of the first things that kind of fell in love with because there's like
okay, this is more unique than some of the
generative projects that were going out back then and
It started to gain some good traction. The community's always been lit
You've ever been in our discords for steezy Saturdays even last Saturday was fucking awesome
We're talking over two years of holding them where we've got, you know
Anything from DJ spinning music to just mods playing YouTube playlists either way
It's just like this big family block party that we're all chill on discord and awesome community, right?
so fast forward a couple months later and
Brian took the step to make a generative collection and it was steezy ape gang
What's really unique about this though is a lot of the traits that went into steezy ape gang were actually
Derived from the one-of-one collections that he was creating with the community. So
4444 generative collection
But specific traits are actually pieces of the one-of-ones that were worked on with the community
So there are actually community members that you know
Have a have a hand in some of the traits that that go throughout and to say that this dude draws traits is an understatement
Unfortunately tasked with trying to work through some of the rarity sniper on things
and I think steezy ape gang has
700 hand-drawn traits across the collection
And so again meticulous detail always worried about how these projects came together
And it was it was the craziest mint experience. I've ever seen first of all
The actual website to mint it was much different than anything at the time, right?
It was much more of an experience. There was this back story and lore created around the steezy ape gang
and essentially you kind of entered the tattoo parlor and
What was super cool was you got to pick the type of ape, right?
There was five different types of ape and I'm gonna try to remember them
It's been a minute, but there was there was sport there was fresh. There was music there was
Mystery and there was gangster and so you you got to pick that so when you minted you were able to select and there
Were different amounts within the collection. So you're actually a part of choosing
Kind of the outcome of your generative NFT first time I've ever seen it super fucking smooth
Incredible minting experience and then when we hit the two thousand two hundred and twenty-two mark
It actually flipped and we found out that half of the collection was
What we'll call fucking aliens. So actually within the steezy ape gang
There's kind of your traditional steezy apes and there's also the fucking aliens which have a whole different set of traits, right?
So when I said 700 traits and steezies, I meant it. So there was this whole alien play
You kind of had to be around for the Lord when it was happening
All the mods were showing up with their steezies dressed in FBI gear and it was it was a fucking incredible
Experience and so the community just got bigger the community just got louder
And at that time, you know Brian really wanted to focus on getting in his eyes the best merch
Best quality product out that he could to the holders
And we had had some partnerships with some other
Individuals and past companies and it was proving to be difficult. So
Prior to launching humans which I'll get into in a second Brian decided to say fuck it and after doing all the research
And and really promised is unfulfilled, right? He was kind of beholden to some partners that he had
Money was paid out for the merchandise that was agreed upon merchandise was never delivered
Now Brian was left kind of holding the bag and the expectations for the community that he made promises to and it really didn't sit
Well, in fact, he was pretty pretty pissed off about it
And so he decided to say this is a problem not just for me, but this is a problem for
the entire space, right so I'm gonna go ahead and build a
Facility that is there to produce merchandise for web 3 organizations web 3 projects
You know buy individuals that understand what they're going through that understand the logistical aspects of it that understand this isn't t-shirts
123.com bullshit. These are holders that spent their money and how do we make the best quality?
Product with the right style with the right design, etc
And so he kind of started on the path of building Okina HQ
So Okina which you've heard mentioned is really like the holding company, right?
The the parent company humans is under that steezy is under that Genesis is under that
There's some other partnerships and collabs that we have that we may or may not announce
tonight, but it's it's this
Incredible space that Brian worked out a deal with company k6 out of Ottawa
Found some space bought it redid it remanufactured the entire location to be able to produce
significant quality merchandise
we've got everything from laser cutters to
You know flat presses large format printers embroidery machines. I'm talking full-scale
Operation to be able to not just
design which he can do the merchandise but actually print top quality through
Local wholesalers that he's connected with and comb through multiple blanks to figure out what's the right stuff
And so I kind of fast-forwarded to the end of what HQ's become
But while all that process was going on and he was building it we were really dealing with the derivative narrative, right?
so this easy ape-dang is based off of the board API Club and
There was kind of this, you know
We would even have people comment on different things on on acts that were like man
I absolutely love the art, but I just don't fuck with derivatives and it really started to become a narrative that Brian was sick of
So he created his own in unique
NFT project and that was humans
Humans was interesting because we launched at mid bear market right before the holidays in 2022
It was a tough time because people were losing money
It wasn't an expensive mint by any means but we had a lot of people reaching out saying I don't have the money to mint
this I really want to be a part of the project and so
We did a partial mint and then we did and basically ended up doing a free mint and you could pay to burn
So people could essentially save their spot. What's great about that is there's actually human tokens right now. They're still unrevealed
To be I think eight thousand eight hundred eighty eight. I don't know if we'll ever get there. It just depends on
Incredible artwork all the way across the board
There was a crossover between steezy and humans where you could actually
Clone your steezy apes into humans again
Amazing experience as far as the detail and how it was all brought together
I mean, it's a it's a complex ecosystem that Brian's built
There's a lot of interwoven story lines. The art is I think really second to none in the space
If you haven't taken the time to go find a proper steezy and then actually get the HD version of it and zoom in on it
You're kind of missing out on the intricacies that he's created
But it's led us to here which is really the creation of or the the fruition of Aquino Labs, which
You know, we're gonna be producing the merchandise obviously for humans and steezy
But it's gonna be much bigger than that. We're trying to build this collaborative
Where you know these different web 3 companies and web 2 if they want to do it can come in we can help
design help plan help produce help with the logistics on
Not just t-shirts and hoodies
But above and beyond in the skate decks and in the surfboards and baseball bats and and with the laser cutter
He's got he could make KC some Gucci bag bookends if he wanted to like it's crazy what the guy can do
But to really just add this value to the space that I think has been sorely needed
It was it's a niche market for sure, but it was a gap in kind of the process of rolling out projects
I think we've all seen different projects where you know, your your merch was hey, I got to pay $130 for a shitty hoodie
I own a couple right and he wanted to really change that in and really flip that on its head. So bottom line
huge community we've been
You know Casey's always been a huge supporter with Okeena
And so that's why you see such a crossover between the Okeena fam and the Saints fam
As soon as Casey announced Saints we we hopped on that really quickly
But just the community goes hard. No FUD not looking for a flip been here for a long time
Really excited to see what comes to fruition when we finally get fully operational here in what is looking like the next couple weeks
So pretty exciting times right now. That's your that's your readers digest version and I know that took way too fucking long dank
I mean, I'm sure everybody appreciated that and you know
I haven't heard the whole story of Okeena as well
So you filled in some gaps and you know
Obviously we're we're pretty tight with with the Okeena family and really excited about the merch that's coming soon
I mean, I keep getting DMS everywhere like when merch when merch when merged and I'm like well
we're at you know, we're at the we're at the mercy of our boys really so, you know a lot I was hoping we can get a
little inclination or a little insight as to maybe when or you know, when when when but dude
I super excited to see what pumps out man
and I know you guys have a lot cooking as far as your like you said your partnerships relationships that you're forging and
going to be talking about in the future or tonight or whatever have you so
Yeah, no appreciate that that little backdrop and I think update on that like let me let me step back because literally
I'm gonna be very clear Alejo
Kind of partner in crime with Brian V's from the get at least as long as I've ever been a part of the project
I don't know when you snuck in there Alejo, but
This man picked up and moved to Ottawa
I think from Mississauga keep me honest, but moved to Ottawa to assist Brian in real life and
Finalizing and running the operations over at HQ. So Alejo, why don't you fill in any gaps?
I've gotten if there are there is anything we can talk about on the very recent
Kind of progress that's been made. I know I got a video tour of each clue last week and it's it's fucking unbelievable
Yeah, no, well, thank you for it for that whole introduction about Okeena cuz how do I follow up after that?
right, but but I guess it's to give a perspective on on that in real life
Aspect, right as you just said and and yes, I moved in the summer last July and
I can tell you that that has been has been has been an experience has been a journey has been
Amazing to see how Brian gets just head down and actually built this like with his hands literally. So
pushed forward especially since
the great partnership that we made with Casey and the Saints in regards of what the whole
Merch side of things would be on the clothing company that
Casey and the Saints brand wanted to build
And we came to realize in November
after quite a few talks with Casey that
yes, we we have our HQ almost done then but
We needed to kind of expand a little and that was the idea anyway to come and do that
But I think at that point
Brian pulled the trigger and it was the right decision
Because right now HQ is it's a different beast as if it was last year
Just by the last three months and that's why we've been just pushing so hard to make sure that this second expansion
Was gonna work out with the timeline that we have discussed at least with Casey and with other
You know people that are willing to call up and partner with us
but at the same token it was needed and
It's good to it right now and get
You know with with a bang right right of the get-go
So by me saying that is we needed more space
more production space more space for the machines
Especially the embroidery machine. That's a beast itself
So that's what happened in the last two months that that expansion that was a schedule
For the future happened and it happened at the right time. And as you said it we are right there Casey
Is being supporting us throughout the process
he's been patient enough and the whole Saints community as well to
Understand that we need to is right and then how we we're gonna do it, right?
And Casey has been not only involved with the process and and how we we're doing the design with Brian
But but pretty supportive on how we should roll around and I'm making as well some connections for us
so I have to give props to that because
He's a real friend of the family, you know
But that's the first step that's the first step on what the vision was as got an early mention
from just coming up with like
Right quality and being in control
in control of logistics in control of production in control of
First hand suppliers and Canadian suppliers, so we wouldn't be waiting on
You know overseas shipments or anything like that and being able to fulfill
orders at the right time and being able to again have full control is what we're gonna actually do and I
You know few weeks when we roll everything out from the Okina side of things with steezy clothing line and then Saints and then
Whatever other partnerships and co-op that come around and will come
eventually after the first rollout because obviously, you know, we have to go through the eggs and pains that actually
Rollout out of clothing line and why we're actually building from scratch, right?
So by me saying that I think in the next few weeks as you were saying got an early
I think we'll we'll open the gates and then we'll see
how we can really just keep pushing forward with the vision and the sustainability that we want to have in
Real life as well and conjunctually what we can do from bridging web 3 to web 2 and so on right because at the same time
we've spoken with web 2 brands and and
They want to come and come in and understand what we do as well in regards of brand developing
development, sorry and and how that can be adapted to the technology that you know is web 3
so that's basically where we're at and just to give you that that understanding of what the scope of this project was like
to build it up and I'm pretty sure in the next few days Brian is gonna post some videos of the actual
you know how it was before and how it is now and
Steve from our community just visiting the other day and he was pretty excited to be there and the Bureau is up now and
It's just exciting times to come in the next few weeks, right?

But he's assured me that they know what they're doing with the machines because they're all new stuff, right? And I bet you the
What Okeena looks like now is totally not what they envisioned it a couple months ago
I bet you the thing has grown and turned into a major major monster in good terms any any good in the best way
You know and so they're fully equipped to just to knock it out of the park
And so as much as I keep, you know, like asking when also
I've had to pull back because I know that you just can't
You know push something that you can't push perfection
And so I think we're all pretty excited to see how the rollout goes and what's gonna come out like
You know, we've seen some of the merch for Saints. We've seen some of the steezy stuff
We've seen some of the Okeena stuff
But now that they got they're fully equipped and even that stuff that we've seen it's just kind of like
Let's just you know, throw something together. But now that we're you know, that Okeena is fully fully gonna be firing all cylinders
It's gonna be really really cool to see
Exactly like the type of stuff that can come up with so I'm pretty excited
Like I'll be like can you make that and they'll be like yep easy just like that. So it's gonna be really cool

What it can do for you and why the Saints had decided to go ahead and install that bad boy

Discord is where communities live
Then there's a lot of discord haters and you know, I completely understand why it's it's because the default experience is absolute trash
absolute garbage and most bots you install are absolute garbage, too, you know, you got
56 different slash commands you have to you know, basically memorized to use it right so it's like for power users
But discord is where communities live right and there's no place like discord as you know
As far as the customization you can have so anyways
We built this bot for ourselves, you know just to spice things up, you know to make it interesting in there, right? We introduced
You know, it basically creates an economy inside of your community, right?
and so it's integrated into web 3 and so we got features like
Like soft staking you can activate a collection to be to be generating points
Every day, right? You can call those points whatever you want, right? So
like in your case, it's you know, it's way Z, you know and
In the symbol is the middle finger, right? You can basically do anything you want as far as as a
Like how it looks and feels right and the way it's developed is
It lives where your community lives, but it gets out of the way, right and that's
You really have control over over the experience inside of your community
So and so we built this for ourselves first to solve the problems of retention and engagement and and happen to work
Decided to turn around and and and open it up to everybody else
And so it's been in development for about 18 months, you know
In a beta for for close to eight months and we just opened it up to the public
It goes three and a half weeks ago. So it's still
Like really fresh in, you know, you know in web 3 but we've got about
300 communities that use it and I think it's like 250,000 members
Across those communities, right? And so it's with picking up steam
But yeah, that's kind of the that's kind of like the high-level overview is is, you know, it really
Like does make your community a better place to be so and I'm excited to see how the Saints are gonna be using it I
Gotta tell you dude first couple uses it is clean as shit like it is fast. It is efficient. So
Really excited to see what dank puts on it, but like really well done man. That's awesome

Our number one focus is user experience, right? If something is easy to use
People will use it if if it's fun people
You know are gonna be obsessed with it, right? And like that's the goal is is is to make something that is easy to use
literally two slash commands like the members will ever use
Somebody so you can send your points to somebody else and the other is to drop, you know to drop points into a channel
Or to drop a quest, right? That's literally it right outside of that
It's all buttons and it gets out of the way when you don't use it, right?
So it's really really important to have that
Like that ease of use behind it right and that's where you know, that's where you know, I think it
Compared to the the competition
It's it's super cool. And I've noticed a lot of the Saints been
been using it already like danks been testing it and

so I think like from my side my perspective is a
Lot of people are struggling to understand how royalties
I think there's some people that are like super strong on like royalties are needed
Some people like how fuck it like royalties aren't needed and there's some people that is like, I don't care
Right, and I think from our perspective is like we understand all those different audiences when you understand all their different feedbacks
We're going to build a solution
That makes all three of those audiences and all three of those user groups feel comfortable with that
So to me like I think that is the mutually beneficial thing
the other thing that I think is like super exciting is like I
Think there's marketplaces that like say that are cross chain
But they're really just like an EVM platform that like services all of EVM. That's great. Don't get me wrong
I think like I'm an EVM fan, right?
But ultimately I think like multi chain is the future right and like a soul gets more notoriety
to be able to seamlessly go between soul to ease to ordinals and do a
Bitcoin swap to Solana like those types of things are massive and then obviously having a NFT first wallet that we've

so I think like our thing is like building innovations that are user first and user-centric and like NFTs at the forefront of that and
Continuing to like innovate and then yeah, just being like creator first

These communities that kind of made it through the shit

I see a lot of the same people in discord, but then a lot of new people in different discords and there's just
a continuation and a crossover from project to project to project of really solid individuals
And in those projects where those people are they all seem to be doing well
They all seem to be it's it's either bullish vibes or bullish momentum or or great innovation
You know, it's it's really I think different than than what we saw last time
Where these kind of ecosystems are being created across multiple projects and it's all being beneficial
For the you know the holder base across all it's it's really cool to see and it's it's a hell of a lot more fun
