Hi everyone, good morning or afternoon or evening depending on where you are in the world. I'm just going to give everyone a few minutes to start joining in. We just tweeted the announcement that we are live here for the opening of Gamma, which is
pixel-fools solo exhibition with Farrell File that opens today at 10 a.m. Eastern and collecting begins in one hour that the exhibition itself is available for viewing now on Farrell File.
So to start off, I just wanted to give a brief introduction to both Kerry Doran, the curator of the exhibition, and Pixelful. I have the great pleasure of introducing these to on the occasion of the opening of Gamma, and again for those who are just joining
Gamma is a solo exhibition of 33 unique works by Pixel Fool, which is now live on Farrell File. So Carrie Doran is a writer, curator, and organizer based in New York. They are currently a PhD student and graduate fellow at the Art History Department at the Graduate Center
at Cooney and a graduate teaching fellow at Brooklyn College. On top of that, Dorn is also an external advisor for digital art commissions at M+ in Hong Kong. Across their work, they have foregrounded and collaborated with LGBTQIA cultural practitioners from
and of the Global South. Kerry was previously the director of Bitform's Gallery and Postmaster's Gallery, which some of you may be familiar with here in New York, respectively, and was also one of the founding staff members at New Ink, the New Museum's incubator for art, design, and technology. They have all
also partnered with Art Rio and the Beamist Center for Contemporary Art, Collection, Fortebot, National Geographic, Untitled, and UVS Studios, where they were their first curator in residence. Moving on to Pixel Fool. Pixel Fool is an artist from São Paulo, who quickly rose to promise
it's just recently in 2021 for his code-batist artworks. Released mostly as animated gifts and real-time code, Pixlpool's works are conceptualized with processing and open source and community-led creative coding software. His practice distinctively renders 3D geometric systems and
as pixelated 2D animations that may be suggestive of scientific diagrams, particle simulations, and otherworldly entities. Despite such evocations, the artist has no intention of referencing the supernatural world. He's instead intent on creating a visual sphere specific only
to the computer. His works exist in their own dimension. Pixel often mentions his interest in the perception of time and space and its deconstruction as a starting point for his computational artwork. Pixelple is also known for his community-driven initiatives such as
BRG.XE, a foundation investing in and supporting Brazilian generative and digital artists. So with that, I will let Carrie take it on from here and begin this dialogue with Pixel Fool again for the occasion of the opening of Gamma. If you go to frailfile.com
