Thank you. I Thank you. Thank you. Oh, season. Thank you. so Thank you. so so so so so Thank you. See you again, boys! New Game Boyers! See you. This is Gamefire! Thank you. good morning good afternoon good evening we have a packed show for you guys today
we've got very special guests maybe too many guests we'll see it's going to be
a packed one um we have team members from sky mavis to talk to us about a new product that
they've been working on that they've launched and then we've got the ben cairo it's going to be a just a couple of minutes. Thank you. Thank you. I'm trying to put on for my team, I'm put on for the blocker
I got one eye for the snake, someone's for undercover I'm going to go ahead and get a little bit of a break. Thank you. See you next time. Welcome to the podcast. Thank you. Hello, hello, Theven. Welcome everybody. Hello, hello. Sorry for the slight delay. I was fiddling with some stuff.
We've got it's a big day.
It's a big day for Ronin today.
New product is launching.
And have you seen a little bit about it?
Yeah, yeah.
No, I've seen a little bit about it.
I'm excited to dive into it and try it out myself.
I'm a huge collector. I've been collecting since I was a child. So
it's going to be, it's interesting to hear what it's all about. Yeah. Find out more. And so we've
got two people who, so they're at SkyMavis. You've heard of them before and they have a central role
in building this tool. And so we're going to get some interesting insight from them.
And we also have a special and recurring guest, Cairo,
who's probably one of the most plugged-in figures
in the whole ecosystem and a massive collector himself.
So it's going to be a good one.
It's going to be a good show with everyone bouncing off
the ideas that we're going to explore in this tool.
So without further ado, let's bring on Bean, Nix, and Cairo.
Hello, guys.
Hello, everyone.
So let's just start off from anybody who doesn't know you.
Nix, then Bean, then Cairo.
Introduce ourselves in 30 seconds to the audience.
All right.
I work at SkyMavis, part of the Rodent Growth Team and also helping
out with Vault, which we'll be talking about later. Also a member of Team Rocket.
Yeah. Hey, my name is Bin. I'm the first engineer at SkyMavis. I've been working for SkyMavis since 2018. So yeah, right now I'm more transitioning into more like product manager role. So I was in charge of Ronin Wallet, Ronin Market.
Actually a lot of product at Sky Mavis.
So yeah, right now I'm with Nix helping the VOL team,
which is a new product
for TCG collectible on Ronin,
which is launched this afternoon.
Pretty exciting stuff.
Yeah, I'm Cairo, content creator,
Ronin ambassador, and the leader of Mark of the Zeal.
Stark, that's whenever you're supposed to say.
Okay, I was going to say, he's supposed to transition there or something,
but he had to disconnect.
I think he must have disconnected it.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, welcome, guys.
You know, we're super excited to have you i think
being this like is this the first time you've been on uh this kind of setting at least i know
you've probably been on uh back in the spaces and such but yeah yeah my first time on rolling
radio thank you for having me oh nice nice yeah so it's such an honor um really excited to have
you really excited to have you.
Really excited to hear about the new project that you guys have been working on.
You guys kept this under wraps for a really long time now,
I assume, and finally you get to be able to showcase it
and let everybody know what you built.
Wait, I have to say it because you guys are missing that.
But this is a blessing to have Bean here on the show with us.
Axio OGs would understand, but...
Had to get that one out there.
It was a funny story on that Bean Blessing charm back in the day.
So I was the entry to work on the game.
And then we work on this little charm which gives you a boost in the game.
But we cannot come up with the name.
I asked everyone. I asked Master Munee, I asked Shrung, I asked G-host, I asked Alex,
Hey, do you have any idea for this?
And they cannot come up with a good name.
And then I just silently put Mean Blessing on that.
And it turned out to be one of the items that has my name on it.
Yo, so actually, for those who are listening,
Bean, soak this moment because this man was even trying to back out.
I was like, yo, dude, you have to show up.
So yeah, he's very busy.
It's not his fault. yeah he's very busy it's
not his fault he's a very busy guy so yeah it is an awesome time here because i think the community
really needed you know uh wanted to like see you uh you know in the flesh you've done a lot you've
been i was actually shocked when you said like you've been here since 2018 because i was like
asking bean i was like yo like when did you start? Because I'm trying to give info to Ronin Radio. I was like, 2020?
No, he's like, no, 2018.
I'm like, yo, what?
I wasn't even born that year.
But yeah, awesome stuff.
Very nice.
Very nice.
No, I think he's just having some PC issues.
But yeah, it's such a blessing.
And yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys have worked on.
I know you're really excited about this.
And I just want to let you know before we start here, okay?
I'm a huge fan of Pokemon, okay?
Look, I got two pre-release kits here.
I got two more out here.
I got another two over here.
I am absolutely hooked.
I got four pre-release kits.
And I'm here in Dubai with missiles over my head.
And I'm out here playing fucking Pokemon.
All right.
So that's how hooked I am to, you know, collectibles, card games, and so on.
So this is a really important episode to me as well so yeah let's get let's get to it man let's see let's hear
let's hear what you guys got i think we got some slides here as well to show
yeah so sorry about that it's like it's going to become a recurring theme with the show i think
that i crash right as the show starts every time so um i'm not sure like what if you
guys uh already talked a bit a bit about this while i was restarting my computer but like
what is the product like in plain english what is the product and what does it do
uh i want to go ahead bean and then i'll just add yeah so bow is is a collectible marketplace.
So the great thing about it is it's backed by the NFT technology.
So I have like two-year experience working with Ronin Market,
and I understand what is the capability of NFT.
So recently I got into trading card game,
and I kind of think like, oh, this thing is trading.
In order to trade my card, it's definitely not very efficient.
I have to, you know, I have to go on Facebook group.
I have to trust the seller. I have to do a lot of checking in order to, you know to buy a card that I want.
And I think, OK, this is very inefficient.
But I've been working on Ronin Market and we own the NFT trading technology
and from the Axie Infinity marketplace as well. So we think that with NFT, we can enable any kind of collectible, not just TCG,
to have a better marketplace.
So we took this idea further.
So if you remember a few months ago, we have on Ronin Market, we have some sort of drip collaboration,
and we also bring on Counter-Strike item.
That was a test to try out whether we can link the NFT technology
with something else out there, something already exists out there,
physical collectible or digital collectible,
digital item like a games item, but not Web3 games,
Web2 game with a secondary market trading
so we kind of tried that idea on rolling market and we think that well this could go somewhere
and then we scan maybe slater find incubate a team who work on dedicated for Vogue, which I help them with the NFT technology. And so what is Vogue?
Vogue is a TGG marketplace.
It enables effectively trading on physical items.
So we do this by we work with a bunch of retailers.
So every NFT, every card that they are selling on Vogue is actually backed by a physical item at the retailer's store.
So when you you can trade that item, you can trade the item on Vow like an NFT with other with many other buyer.
And then eventually when a buyer, he wants to ship the NFT, he wants to redeem the NFT into the physical stuff.
to ship the NFT. He wants to redeem the NFT into the physical stuff.
He can burn that NFT and get that item shipped to the location.
One of the problems when we are launching Pokemon with Drip is that
our audience is a little bit in Southeast Asia.
So one of the problems we encounter was that the shipping fee from the US to Southeast Asia
was too high.
So from VOL, we are trying to get the retailer
from the area to reduce the shipping cost for the buyer.
So yeah, VOL is a TCG trading platform.
We connect retailer and buyer.
Oh, yes. that's really cool.
So just a question on that.
Can you also trade person to person as well?
Yeah, you can also trade from person to person.
But you have to buy it from a retailer first.
But I think in the future, part of it is eventually people could put up their own cards on chain, right?
That's not yet ready, but that's something that'll be possible.
Exactly. So with the way we're vaulting the item right now, in a force enabled future,
we want the user to send the card to a retailer that's part of our network. And then when
the retailer got that item, he will make it an NFT and transfer it to the user wallet.
And then you can enjoy trading it effectively on Vult. I also wanted to add, right?
Like just Vult, like Vult is a way for people
to start collecting for as low as like,
like we have less than a dollar products here.
Like collecting can be fun.
It's like a new way of doing that.
And there are a lot of platforms actually
that offer similar um kind of uh
offerings where like oh you could like spin this machine maybe get this card or whatever
um where we differ is that what we're doing is bringing retailers that are close to our
audiences and it's right now it's starting starting in Southeast Asia because that's kind of where we've already had the connections
and we've worked tirelessly to bring on.
But in the next few weeks, months, right,
we'll have retailers in, let's say, Latam in the US
where it is literally possible for you,
wherever you are in the world,
to enjoy this part of the hobby with like less friction right um because yeah we do know what happened like a couple months we've
learned from those like shipping issues with like other partners and we don't want that to happen
again and even some of the retailers that we have right now on vault we've been working with to
figure out like so that they can ship easily to let's say the US
right so while a store or retailer might be in Vietnam they can actually ship to the US
that is something we've worked with them on so while we do South East Asia focus anyone can
actually enjoy this it's just that yeah you're gonna have a great time if you're from the
Philippines to ship this and like pay like a dollar to get your cards, right?
Like, which is impossible for most people in Southeast Asia right now with similar platforms.
So how do you make that happen where like other people, you know, have failed?
Like, what is, how is it possible to be able to, you know, ship at such a low cost?
Right. it possible to be able to you know ship at such a low cost right so the secret sauce is actually
like we are working with partner like with vetted retailers whereas other similar platforms what
they do is they just i from what i know they buy a bunch of inventory and they like they house it
themselves right so if that company is based in the us then all their inventory is going to be in the US right so we make it easy by having like
hubs essentially right so like stores in Vietnam stores in Singapore stores in the Philippines
stores in Peru stores in New York right so like eventually um that is kind of the vision and what
will allow us to ship easier and faster uh right now, also, we have been working on, like, a centralized hub,
at least for Southeast Asia.
So, like, there will come a time, there will be some instances
where we're going to be not, I don't want to say, like, SkyMavis HQ,
but, like, in Vietnam, have the cars and then ship it out
to, like, avoid problems of, problems of middleman stuff.
But so far, I don't think anyone's tried to ship yet.
The product has been out for six hours.
But hopefully, it is not going to be an issue for shipping.
And we'll do our best to make sure that that is the case.
OK. Start. Yeah. that that is the case okay start yeah
it's time it's time still gone oh yeah he is still gone i i haven't noticed you know i just been like focused i'm trying to figure out like okay how can i best utilize this so um what you're
saying is that like if i buy from let's say singapore right um or sorry I want a product I'm in Singapore right they don't
like so how like how is it that I can get it from let's say the states or they you know it's like
they have inventory but I'm buying there but then the Singapore team is gonna send me something
right from their inventory is that how it's working or uh like okay maybe like so
this is a concrete example uh let's say like i'm in the like well i'm in vietnam right now and then
the retailer that i decided to open like i think one of the retailers here in world right now
it's called aris ccg they're based in vietnam right and let's say i'm um in vietnam as well
so that kind of shipping like if i and if i ever
wanted those cars to be shipped that's easy right like that's okay for them to do uh but let's say
you're in dubai like then maybe this is a bit you know if you're in dubai uh being correct me if i'm
wrong rs ccg ships globally right or not no uh they they just yeah mystic crew they ship global yeah mystic so right now
it like depends on the retailer like we're working and helping like some of these retailers
retailers learn the like how to ship globally because some of them never had to right so
actually shout out to the partner retailers right now it's like these are people who are
you know innovators and trying to like you, get into this new thing as well.
I think a lot are still learning.
But yeah, the idea is that eventually, yes, they'll be able to ship globally.
We've been like working on like, was it DHL integrations being?
But like we're trying stuff out to make this easy as well for shipping.
But I think one thing that like internally we're going to do a better job of is explaining, you know, just the intricacies for shipping. But I think one thing that internally we're gonna do a better job of is explaining
just the intricacies of shipping.
Because if people really want the cards,
sometimes it's better to wait until you have 10 cards, right?
Rather than, oh, try to ship these two cards that you got.
That might not be economically worth it, right?
You could safely store it.
It is safe anyway. like it is stored there
until the day you decide to claim them um which is you know gotcha always an option i think that
that kind of also segues into a question that i wanted to ask you guys is in like what
what does this being on ronin empower the vault to be able to do and i think partly it's like people waiting before they ship
cards if they actually own the nft they're a bit more you know they they know that they own that
card right until they've decided to to ship them what what other ways is is vault empowered by being
on ronin you know what like i think the biggest thing thing, one of the most exciting things that I actually
think for Vault is the opportunity to bring, I know this might be like, this might be something
that's been said over and over again, right?
Bringing Web2 to Web3 or Web2 on-chain, but i really think like vault has the ability to do that and
why you know why a lot of us on sky map is is excited about it and really helping and trying
to like treat this as our you know uh thing is because there we have kind of a plan to bring in
collectors from like you know out in the wild really like pokemon players like pokemon like
one piece collectors one piece tcg players like all these people you'll be surprised a lot of them
have actually not heard of competing for like you know you know platforms like vault right i'm not
just gonna give free promo to these uh people right but if you go if you go to the philippines i swear to god like because i'm
part of the the tcg community here i've name dropped the biggest player in the space like
the biggest vault right in the space not none of them have heard of those before right because
because again like i think a lot of the a lot of the other platforms are focused on the web3 collectors you
know the crypto whales the gents and yeah we would love those users as well but i think we have a
real shock here to like bring you know collectors like you know people who don't have like a lot of
budget even but like want to get started and try out you know try something fun out um and yeah
we're making if you've tried to spin like if you try to rip a
back right now on vault you'd see that it's very web2 friendly they don't even need like gas fees
or whatever like all of that is happening behind the scenes uh they don't need a crypto wallet
like they don't need any of that like if you like actually you guys can try wherever you are in the
world you could use your
like i don't know what it is in your respective countries but like in the philippines there's
this thing called gcash which is like the online banking thing you can use gcash which every
filipino uses by the way to buy cards on vault um which is you know this is one of the things that
we're we're doing for for onboarding and
yeah and like to yeah to your question sorry like that is some you know like things that are
happening like people don't even know right like it doesn't even feel like it's crypto but it is
it is powered by Ronin but it like the the muggles don't even know or see that which is you know I
think awesome yeah like I and but so it ties in also to gunlock's
question and chat asking if no ronin wallet but it's i think i was i was able to deposit from
ronin so you can go when you go on the website you go on to deposit and then you can send usdc
from ronin from other chains onto your onto your wallet balance it's just you can't log in with the
wallet but i think that's is is that also just to make it not appear uh crypto right to like
not scare off the normies right away from the get-go correct i'll let i'll let you tackle that
like if we have plans on putting road and wall sign-ins or whatnot yeah we we uh we have planned
to put on rolling wallet uh but at first we uh we were more um targeted at the Web2 user, like Nick said, the collector.
And we know that with that seamless experience of Preview,
even like I think it would be also
easy for a Web3 user to use Preview.
It's simply you sign up with email password,
and then you deposit your USDC from Ronin wallet to Previ.
You can also log in it from anywhere.
You don't get logged into a device
or to a non-custodial wallet that you have in your browser.
So it's very convenient, I believe,
for both Web3 user and Web2 user as well.
Yeah, cool. And I see that there there's so i was looking on the website
there's like pokemon one piece and rift bound um how come you picked specifically those ones to
start off with yeah those are the biggest like um well first of all like Pokemon is the number one TCG in the world.
We've all read, right?
Like I'm pretty sure everyone has, you know, read articles of how it has outperformed the stock market.
So like Pokemon is really big.
The demand is there.
One Piece, to be honest, like I think we are, I think our stock just got wiped out.
Like it wasn't a lot, but we need more One Piece.
But Riftbound is emerging right i think the biggest thing is like riffbound is actually uh right now if i look at the vol it has the most uh you know rips or opens um so like people seem to be interested in it it's not easy
to get riffbound inventory so that's actually one thing that we have that most you know platforms
don't and i guess since it's emerging it allows also for
lower price points also right for the packs and stuff like that yeah but like lower pricing will
actually like if i don't want to like encourage you know people but it actually is like good ev
like you know i've been that's all i've been spinning like the whole day is because i've been
buying and selling the rebound uh things so when i click when i click pax like
it just says uh this feature isn't available in your region is it like do i is there like
some kind of restriction or i get the 404 yeah uh are we where are you he's in dubai get get vault.gg
he's in dubai get get vault.gg slash pax yeah i'm on dubai right now um i gotta i gotta i gotta
know yeah i'll turn off my vpn too and see what happens wait i'll refresh and see what happens
so i was actually connected through singapore oh that's why that's why oh singapore's restricted
legally stuff like this is not allowed in Singapore.
So we're not in Singapore.
That makes a lot of sense.
There we go.
To our Singaporean listeners right now, I'm sorry.
You can blame your government.
I saw also that there was in-person claims at Sky Mavis.
Did I read that correctly?
Where did I type that?
Or in stores at least, or something like that, right?
Yeah, go ahead.
We have a bunch of machines stand up for testing,
and we sell them internally just for SkyMavis member
to test this out.
So the bug is actually on my table.
So whenever they spin, just come and uh pick something
here from this spot i guess that's the in-person claim okay i need is was that on the blog i need
to edit that i don't want people like knocking on the person to getMavis to get a car. At least, yeah, it's one way to visit the SkyMavis office.
Just bang on the door and say, where's my car?
But I think we will plan events like that at some point where we could have some in-person
claimings with partner retailers.
But yeah, that is not like a shipping option.
That is actually problematic so what else what else is is planned with for the in the near future for vault then
what are some features that you're contemplating and thinking about or even building maybe
so um the transit of vote is making collecting um fun and exciting.
So we think buying stuff directly is kind of boring.
You always, the only thing you would do there is find the cheapest price.
Find a retailer or find the stuff with the cheapest price.
So we want to add some spikes to the collecting experience.
So we're thinking about what are the ways that we can excite the user to, just like Gin Fortune's gym, you spend little amount of money, but you also aim to get a higher price value.
It gives you a bit of excitement along with collecting journey.
So in the roadmap right now, we're thinking about other features that make sell more interesting like raffle or auction.
feature to make sell more interesting like raffle or auction.
We have a bunch of retailer who also struggling to sell the item,
sell some of the item without knowing the market price,
because the market price sometimes is inaccurate on the item that is very,
very rare. So thinking about building an auction house for
several very high value items or like items that is very, very rare.
In a sale like that, it can also attract a lot of people, a lot of attention.
That's just to take a look and participate in the sale.
So it's the kind of sale that involves more than just one buyer and one seller.
It involves everyone to look at it involve a lot of people
so i think that's that will create some good traction for the product um and in the early
states as well yeah so yeah like raffle there is something in the roadmap oh nice yeah like the
logan everybody's everybody heard of logan paul raffling sorry not raffling but auctioning away his card
yeah the huge huge uh huge press for for the the hobby i guess of collecting dude i have to i have
two things to add like in terms of feature um one would be you know like one is like we actually
want to hear from like the community and like you know collectors like cairo like these guys like you guys probably have ideas and we're happy to like build them um this is this is kind of like
a good you know we're super open to like adding cool things and you know i've been actually telling
the team like i have this crazy idea like oh what if we do pack battles async right like uh winner
takes all right like nix and uh theban right like we both queue and whoever has the
better hits like you know i take all yours because you lost because yours is crap right
we have these cool things that you know we're trying to do and like just trying to make you
know collecting fun um for people and like you know we're happy to like hear ideas for sure so
if you guys have cool stuff you know just like don't hesitate
to message something we will relate to the team so that they can build it yeah well what if so for
everyone in chat what where do they need to go how do they get involved because the product is live
right since a few hours ago stark put my screen up so we can pick this pack okay
this pack okay
what are you gonna tell me which one so in order for me to open a pack does it have to be usdc
yes right now it's only in usdc okay because i got an error saying uh the
law the coin and blockchain combination you have selected is
unavailable in your country so that's for canada so i'm just trying to you know i know i'm i'm i'm
like you have to register like you know residential address and whatever right like or your residential
country um and i put that in i tried both canada I also tried UAE but they both didn't go through to try to load.
Try to use my credit card to load up some money to open that.
Let the team know.
Wait. Bean, maybe you can tell which card for Kyra to pick.
He's getting impatient.
I see usually in the center, top center.
Top center.
Okay, here we go.
Ah, darkness always.
Ooh, what was the...
I wish I could have seen the rest of the options for a couple more seconds.
Wait, can we rip this right now?
Is that possible?
No, it's not possible.
You have to ship it.
Or you can also ask the retailer if he can rip it for you.
I see this.
Which store is it from?
Which pack are you pulling?
This is the first slab.
Ah, first slab.
Nunu Collective.
I had to use two of them.
That's loud for you guys.
All right, we're done.
We're done.
Oh, we got a standard hero's back.
Okay, okay.
Wait, I want to see what else was in there.
I want to see what else was in there.
I think it went away too quickly.
Yo, this is crazy.
It's $13.06.
Someone's listing it on VOTE right now for $10.
Guys, there's an arbitrage opportunity to make $3.00 straight out.
Yeah. Yeah.
I saw that too. I'm like, wait, that's actually way too cheap.
Yeah, it is, right?
Alright, come on. Can we get something good? I'll tell you where it is.
Uh, bottom, the second from the bottom left.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It might have been the worst pack. Oh god! Oh god! Oh god!
It might have been the worst pack!
It would be cool if it stayed a bit longer on the screen with the other things.
The other options.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Let me take notes!
Yeah, we'll do too.
Good luck, uh.
Yo, can we get a slab
alright go
fourth on the bottom
which side?
yeah that one
even worse than phantasmal flames
you have to pick another one.
I don't think I get the right to pick again.
The first one.
No, that makes a lot of sense where like, you have like these packs, right?
And what is that?
Is that a box?
Oh, literally.
I'm selling on both back for Ripping War. Nice. Instant ROI. nice
instant roi
so caro asked like uh
so caro asked like if you can like open the packs right and then i realized like oh my
god the music
can you mute it
that's so loud
at the top top right yeah
okay okay so what i was good so i was trying to say was like um caro asked like if you can open a Can you mute it? That's so loud. At the top, top right, yeah. Okay, okay.
So what I was trying to say was like,
Cairo asked if you can open a PAX, right?
So there's two things there.
One, if you open the PAX, then it's kind of fun.
But if you can't open a PAX and you have to ship it out,
then you're giving also people more reason
to like list stuff on the marketplace
and other people can buy it and ship it out
if like they think it's too much of like a hassle
right to like ship out the packs and open it themselves which yeah technically creates actually
like more uh liquid items and i feel like having the ability to be able to buy packs at a cheaper
price than if you have to go into a store in person is like a pretty big deal right especially if like these packs are
not you know uh mapped or something or like someone opened something and then they like
putting it away because it's like trusted resellers and you can actually have a chance to get really
good hits i think that could bring more uh activity onto the site it's like you can have
other people come on and like just shop on a marketplace for like people who are just trying to sell for like more than 85 for example yes you know yeah i see that
happening now actually like low-key right like that ascended heroes booster if it's still there
i'll actually buy it because in the philippines you can't even get that for 10 bucks dude no it's
impossible actually you can't get it anywhere for 10 dollars it's like yeah yeah it's impossible. Actually, you can't get it anywhere for $10. It's like, yeah.
Low-key, there is an arbitrage opportunity here,
and I'm not afraid to say that.
You guys know, right?
Do what you got to do.
Yeah, that was a rough four in a row right there.
But he was actually on fire up to that point.
I'm thinking, is it worth
opening 10 at a time to guarantee
getting an epic?
Is that a guarantee or is...
I'll let Bean answer that.
It's not guaranteed.
Oh, nice. Fusion Shade.
Yeah, it's RNG. Bean, I have a question for you. Oh, nice. Fusion Shade. Yeah, it's the RNG.
OK, Bean, I have a question for you.
Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry.
You want to go first?
No, I was just going to say, so it doesn't make a difference
if you're doing one or many at the time, right?
Technically, it doesn't.
So the way VRF work is just each of the pack you open, it has individual.
Okay, fair enough.
What are you going to ask, Stephen?
Okay, Bean, here's my question to you, okay?
Are you going to be the first one to build the ability to be able to long and short TCG cards?
You know, that was one of the vision that we want to do.
So by enabling collectible to be NFT, that is definitely, NFT5 is definitely a future.
It's a possible future.
So we have to work on a lot of things to get there.
We have to have an article pricing that is very, very accurate.
But we know with the tech part of the smart contract,
the DeFi landscape, the NFT5 landscape,
what you say is totally possible and we have thought about it.
It's just...
Yeah. We have to work there.
Dude, Thibrain, do you want that feature? And we have thought about it. It's just yes. Yeah, we have to work there That would literally be the feature I think that would bring in millions and millions.
If not, it might become like a billion dollar industry.
Because there's so many people who I've talked to who are like,
Man, if I could short this, I would short it right now.
And then like literally two months later, it's like at a new all-time high.
And it just never stops ripping, you know?
So I think it's a big a new all-time high and it just never stops ripping you know so i think it's a
i think it's a big opportunity okay because you said the reason why i asked because you said yes
that you want that feature i was talking to our engineers uh like before leaving the office and
they told me that i can over promise so yes we will over promise no no but seriously like yeah i think that's a really cool idea we'll definitely give that a
serious look yeah i really like no i'm not i'm not kidding you like for example during the logan
poll like when the sale happened with the pikachu right um yeah there's so many people who are like
oh this is the top this is the top of uh this cycle for pokemon blah blah blah whatever and
then like literally for the month right after
pokemon just kept ripping and it never stopped like it's still right now like there's so many
cards that are like at all-time highs um especially the stuff that was in the last six years right
those are really popping off hardcore so like i think there's a market for all of this and uh sure
there's there could be more manipulation because there's ebay and all these things like that but i feel like you know a futures market
for um like tc like specifically for pokemon because it's so liquid to be honest yeah i think
would be uh really good groundbreaking you know i agree i agree and i think that's something that
we could definitely look into because yeah i think the vision of Vald is to make collecting fun.
And that is a new aspect of collection.
You know how sports betting made sports more interesting
in some ways?
I see the same thing for TCGs.
Yeah, I mean, I see it very much similar to what happened
with tokens versus coins and and stuff, right?
Like you don't need to actually own a token to be able to long it or short it, right?
Like you can just do it.
And same thing that happened with meme coins.
Like meme coins, they accelerated and they became even bigger because of like your ability to be able to long and short it, right?
Without having to be early to it so i feel like with um you know
these trading cards part of the reason why there's a lot of money i feel like that is still
sidelined is because uh there's people who aren't collectors who want to be involved in some ways
but they don't want to go through the hassle of dealing with this person going you know to like
some other store or whatever or like getting some stuff delivered
that is just gonna sit there for like a year but then like maybe you wanted to sell it like three
months earlier right like you want people to have all those emotions make it easier for them
to be able to deal with it and i feel like a futures market for it um you know would really
uh do that.
Cairo, how do you feel using the tool, etc.? Because you're a pretty big collector.
What is your feeling discovering Vault?
Yeah, I mean, I've only used it as much as you guys have seen on the screen.
But it looks cool as long as there's a like good variety of stuff to rip
and um yeah as long as there's a good variety of stuff to rip and uh things are enticing i mean
i'll be i'll be gambling from time to time for sure um i haven't seen many platforms do raw cards for stuff like this.
So I'm interested to see how that process goes because I just feel like raw cards are going to be, I don't know, it's going to be interesting to see how people like ship those out or if like a lot of people are like buying and selling those on like the Discovery.
Yeah, I think everything is just interesting.
I have to dive into it deeper to
see more about it and uh yeah it's cool that this is happening on run-in
i guess with the raw cards as well there's a couple of things that need to happen is like
you got to get pictures like um because people look at quality right like quality centering all
this stuff when it comes to raw cards so there's still
like a lot more that probably needs to be worked on um before you know it really pushes to i think
slabs are easier to like move because like you know exactly what you're getting you just look
at the number on the top right corner so yeah so for raw like i just did it yeah so like yeah we do
uh acknowledge like that is kind of like
very important.
Right now, actually, you can see, like, you have hints of the quality of the raw cards.
Like, you see near mid, like, there's some, like, if it's LP, like, the plate, we're
trying to do, like, next level of that is to actually, like, show the card.
But, like, for this, like, soft launch, it was actually very hard for the retailer to upload a thousand plus of the cards.
But we are working with them to make sure that
in the future versions, the physical card can be seen.
And we have been communicating with them
to make sure that the cards that are on here are not like,
nothing's grossly disgusting cut off or whatever but um yeah that is you
know something that we're keeping an eye on like the point of the raw cards is really we wanted to
have a kind of fun entry point for like begin like people who are just starting out just wanted to
like have this kind of like rush or like fun as well because most of like i don't know like most other kind of crypto uh like uh card machines
like starting spin is like 10 bucks or something so we made like something that's like less than
a dollar to kind of give people a just a have a way to have fun as well but yeah uh super we're we're uh super uh we're monitoring that
like the raw card situation as well i do got a question do they expire at any point
which which is which is like let's say like i got a card today right and then i don't collect it for
like five years is it just gonna collect dust somewhere like five years. Is it just going to collect dust somewhere?
Like what is it going to do?
Like the cards, did it have a period where like I need to claim it or try to sell it, you know?
So like, yeah, to sell, like if you want to sell back to the vault or to the retailer,
like you have to do it within 24 hours, right, Bean?
Yeah. Yeah, in order to sell back, you have to do it within 24 hours right bean yeah yeah in order to sell back you have to do it 24 hours but i think the uh he mentioned about the vaulting period whether if we expire yeah we talked about it we haven't decided yet but if you know
right now the retailer they um so if a user buy another card from another user, the retailer actually get a percentage cut of that, and we call that voting fee.
It works similarly to the creative fee on the market.
So in case that you just keep your card at the retailer's store for a very long time and there's no transaction making there, so I think the retailer is not going to be happy.
So there has to be a way to...
So we still work to...
Yeah, a lot of short answers.
We're still working on that.
We're working on thinking on how to implement that policy.
But yeah, right now there is no expiration expiration because it's also a two-way street
right like it's a two-way street because like the the retailers also are incentivized to have like
you know if there's trading you know if there's some action on those cards they actually benefit
as well so we have that to bring to the table to these retailers as well so like so that they could
keep the you know like hey like so they're they're so
they're not unhappy right so they can vote but but right now these retailers they're on vault for a
reason like we've done due diligence we've talked to them we've like you know we we know that these
guys won't just like eat your cards in three months right like it is safe uh we know where
they're they are um and you know where they're all at.
So it is actually a nice, you know.
This feels like, to be honest, when we were like, this feels new.
This feels like different because like the way we're doing it is different.
We're working with retailers, right?
Like it's like early stage Amazon, right?
Like just allowing others to sell.
Like Amazon used to sell their own inventory.
Then like they just onboarded you know
other people and became an e-commerce site so like kind of similar approach
yeah well so it's pretty exciting i think i mean we'll see i'm i know the first thing i'm doing
when the show ends is the only reason i haven't started ripping cards is because I've decided not to touch my computer. I'm literally looking at my questions
on my phone to not make it crash again, but I'm going to be ripping packs and posting it on Twitter.
Dude, Aura is glazing us. He said, hide your girl, hide your wife. Bro, you want a free pack?
hide your girl hide your wife like bro you want a free pack
yeah free pack for our uh david asked and no mtg cards uh bean we should be having them soon right
magic together yeah not yet but not yet we we we know the retailer who has a lot of magic together.
Yeah, and I saw this question has been floating on Discord as well, on Ruin Discord.
People asking about NBA cards. We also have...
So we have some of these that are retailers who are on the wings, ready to and like add more variety of you know cards uh for vault
so keep you know stay tuned for that cool well yeah i think i think we covered a lot of the
things right is there anything else you wanted to share with the audience that we haven't covered
through the questions and stuff like that i guess like just yeah just like oh I think we did have yeah we
did have a giveaway so make sure you guys uh get involved there there's a Ronin radio specific
giveaway which is right now on the screen but there's also a we're giving out sealed uh
ascended heroes etvs and the Chinese New year exclusive uh pokemon gift box uh for people who
joined the campaign it is like also been tweeted by ronin radio it's also in the vault announcements
and i do have this one thing that you know we uh okay i can't share my screen but like one thing
hasn't been talked about so um we there are things beyond just like the cars beyond just like the collecting
that you know we're also thinking about uh you know vault is big like there is a desire to reward
early users there is a desire to reward kind of big spenders or people who spin and we've kind of leaked this a little bit on the announcement
there's a set of like tokens soulbound right i think yeah yeah yeah i don't know if that can be
put on here but like you guys could like you know we'll share that as well so we haven't really
shared how to get those yet like in the next few days that will be shared but it isn't let's just say that you know think
big right like think like if there's you know there's a what we're trying to do is like try
and find ways to make you know collecting not just you know not something to feed your hobby
but also like you know it could maybe it could be something you know fun as well in other ways
maybe there's you know some some kind of other rewards you know we fun as well in other ways. Maybe there's, you know, some, some kind of other rewards, you know,
we're trying to re-imagine like how companies are, yeah.
So we're trying to figure out like how we can reward, you know, active users,
you know, people who are really into it and like just make them, you know,
fall in love even more with, with the vault.
So that's just a little leak, like a little alpha.
Just don't yeah just
whatever you're doing on vault like it is not for naught like it is your actions are you know
you're on to something if you're here you're on right i'll leave it at that we'll we'll we'll
give we'll give more information yeah perfect yeah so well yeah so for for everyone in the audience there's there's
the running radio giveaway there's the this giveaway also that you can find on the on the post
from vault or from ronin network and yeah i think we can it was yeah it was really nice having you
guys on um and yeah thank you for giving us like an hour of your time it's an honor to have been on
obviously and nick's always nice to have you on hopefully we can have you on again have you on
again soon oh i forgot about a segment no well i guess we the thing is we we went a bit long do
you guys have time if we had for some ronin questions nix and bean or or and even also
by the way if anybody has to go just feel free to go otherwise i there was some more questions
yeah it was nice seeing you guys i gotta i gotta hop out real quick the fam is waiting for me um
but yeah you know it was great checking out the product as soon as i figure out how to get it to
work for me i'm to be spinning it up.
And yeah, let's see how this goes.
Yeah, perfect. Thank you, thank you.
And nice meeting you, Bean.
It was a pleasure.
So, bye, Deben.
See you next week, maybe.
Bye, Deben.
Yeah, so I guess the the i don't know if you
guys saw the show last week where we had gho's on and we addressed like the l2 migration um and all
of that a bit i guess what what can you guys tell us about that i mean you guys have probably been
very busy with with with vault have you guys been like hands-on with other things like that I think
yeah so pick honestly like whatever you've been working on if you guys want to share something
about that yeah I mean like maybe uh okay being want to go first yeah I'll to migration um so
I'm not working directly with L2 migration, but it's definitely in the process.
We are working with several partners just to prepare them so when the hard fork happens, their validator will operate normally.
So, yeah, most of the work right now is just reaching out to your partner,
making sure that they are aligned with the IOT migration. There's no any other problem
that I know of. So I think the IOT migration is pretty on track.
Yeah. And I guess, like, do you guys are obviously inside SkyMavis. What can you, like, do you guys are obviously inside SkyMavis? What gives you guys confidence for the rest of 2026, 2027 with this migration?
That obviously you can leak as much as you want.
I'm really bullish on proof of it.
So, like, there are a few things that I'm kind of bullish on.
Maybe I could share as it relates to that.
Because for me, like, migration, like, it like it's big like don't get me wrong it's big but like for me like it it
happens then like you know it is it is this whole like it is technology it is kind of like back end
stuff right i'm i'm a marketer so i focus on like kind of what people can like see you know on the
surface so for me what is exciting is like proof of distribution,
like actually empowering builders on Ronin.
And I just think it'll unlock this kind of domino effect,
Like this will all domino effect and network effect
that can really ignite more,
just more and more fun and excitement for Ronin.
So I think that's big.
And the second, which you actually put here, right? fun and excitement for Ronin. So I think that's big.
And the second, which you actually put here, right?
You said here, like, user acquisition.
And I think, you know, not to really, you know, in order to, like, save my career, right? I can't really, like, give industry company secrets.
But I guess I'll just say, you look at the industry you look uh you look at web
3 gaming for example right every it's not a secret that it hasn't been super hot you know like it's
been kind of rough but uh of the remaining of of the games that are still alive and breathing and
like you know out there doing well they're on
ronin right so that's a great sign the the ones that the web3 games that actually matter they're
building on ronin now here's the other thing the other web3 games that also matter that are not on
ronin like they fix some of them want to come to ronin like really there's that interest of like building on
ronin and and i think with the migration the period of distribution like we may see more
builders like online like there is like that interest of like just builders inquiring again
uh how do how do you build our own can we build like who do we talk to i see like it might be
the cat it might be the catalyst we need basically basically. Yeah, that is because I remember like when Ronin was super hot, right?
Like something like last year, what was happening when Ronin was like super hype?
It was when all these builders wanted to come over, right?
And now I'm kind of feeling, hearing, seeing that again, which is kind of exciting.
Obviously, I'm not saying like anything's guaranteed, right?
These are just like conversations, stories, but I see it as a good sign, right?
Like if someone was like people, I feel like builders are seeing that Ronan is still here.
So bullying standing, like standing tall, like kind of like, despite all the odds, you
know, despite, you know, the market, I think that is overall bullish.
And for me, that is kind of you know again migration it's
cool it is like back at is technology but like just what i'm seeing from like the front of the
field is kind of what gets me excited with uh builders being excited about running nice
bean what excites you about 2026 and ronan
L2, let me see.
Yeah, I'm pretty excited for VOL.
But part of the excitement for, I'm a technical person.
So L2 bring a lot faster transaction.
So when you stream earlier, you saw that spinning animation.
It was the VR app deciding,
randomizing which one do you run.
And it takes a lot of time.
It takes like 10 seconds for the result to happen.
So when we move to IoT migration,
it could be down to just one second or maybe half a second.
So with a better block time, with better transaction speed,
we can build better product.
And it's also, we can also, we can also get the Ethereum support on like the Ethereum ecosystem,
because we are part of L2 Ethereum right now. So it would um easier to get support from their ecosystem yeah yeah nice and and what about you cairo like you're you're a massive player in the ronin ecosystem how does how does
this migration uh land for mods and your guild and your assets and all of that what what goes
through your mind when you think about the this um, I think it's just going to be interesting for all the reasons that Bean just stated.
It'll be nice just to see the network become more premium over time and collaborative,
which is the rest of Ethereum. And yeah, you never know what kind of avenues that opens up.
Ronin's been like a, its own like island island for a long time and this might hopefully build some bridges with that migration. So honestly, I think I'm more of a, we'll sit and see what happens and see how it affects us than looking forward and being super excited for things.
Okay, cool. I mean, yeah, it makes sense. sense you have to especially when it's something of
this scale i guess you have to wait i don't have precedent you know i don't really know so i have
to wait and see how it affects none of us none of us really do know exactly what's going to happen
right so it's like that's part of the part of the unknown but yeah and being do you have do you work
on like the axi codex for example and stuff like that you have anything to you work on like the Axie codex,
for example, and stuff like that?
Do you have anything to do with that?
No, I'm not working on Axie at the moment.
Okay, okay.
I think because-
No, Atiyah's legacy.
Yeah, Atiyah's legacy?
Atiyah's legacy is the other thing that is exciting.
I just like wonder.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think, did Jiho's give give i think he gave a date of
the next play test right that's the i think april 8th i think april 8th yeah it's gonna be a big
month this is just one of many voltages one of many launches that are just gonna lead us into
into april and the rest of the year hopefully so yeah there's the and the xc xc codex season one also but yeah we'll see i
think what can what can you tell nix what can you tell people about xc codex oh i wish i had like
i don't know anything about xc codex uh sadly we've been like super locked in like shipping
both out oh i can't tell people is about the plate that's that at
least that i've been like involved getting people on it um we have like a forum going out like to
so i could people like girls communities uh and creators like that and like i think holders so
uh i think people need to yeah you need to get a hand you you know, you're getting hold of that, like, kind of form and sign up for the whitelisting because the playtests will be limited, you know, limited seating, right?
Limited slots.
Yeah, Salah, I don't know much about, like, Codex Season 1.
This is kind of a new thing that, you know, new thing for me as well.
So I will just be as
surprised as the rest of y'all yeah well we'll have to discover it together so yeah i think
those were like the ronin ronin questions i wanted to tackle also um before we did that i think it's
been it's been a good show i'm really excited about about vault um and checking that out and
especially like the the upcoming features i think
like i'll echo what theban said which is like the being able to short and long pokemon cards
a new fun way to lose all my money do we have to cryo this feature
Do we have to cryo this feature?
Sounds like you all know this.
What feature would you like the most if you had to, Cairo?
Yeah, that's easy.
Give me a whale pack.
Give me something to actually degen on.
Those $15 and $35 packs aren't enough.
I want to win something big.
Yeah, we're working down the whale the whale collection um
i'm gonna give you give this man what he wants yeah we we just like have some stick inventory
coming that'll satisfy those but yeah like but again like uh in that note right and and i do
appreciate that of course like but in the on in, in the same vein, Volt is in soft launch.
Like, this is like, literally.
Do you think you'll do, so, you know, like, whatnot, they do all the rip and ship, etc.
Do you guys think that you'll do something of that nature on Volt where there are, like, chances for it?
I know you're doing, like, through the resellers and through all the individual people like selling the cards.
I don't know. You know, you can ask the reseller there to rip the cards for you or whatever.
But do you think you'll ever do that like officially through like live streams or something like that?
Because I know that you can go on to whatnot. I've never done it, but I just know that's a big thing in TCGs.
You can go on to whatnot. You can can bid for a pack, buy a pack,
or there's a booster box break.
People can buy packs, and then it's a rip and chip thing.
Do you think that's it?
Like allowing creators to make their own product, right?
Some kind of thing like that, yeah.
I'll let Bean take that question.
Rip pack? Yeah, so just like uh i was comparing like on whatnot there's like a lot
of like rip and ship uh like uh vendors or creators that will uh like do live streams and then they
will like sell packs and then rip them live and then ship them uh do you think that that is in
the future for volt at all or you know it it's we're still researching the live stream technology,
We have a vision in we have one model in our head where if you buy a booster pack
or a booster bundle as an NFT, you can ask, you can schedule your shop to rip the pack for you and then record it.
Or you can also live stream with the retailer Tam just to watch them open your pack.
And then after that, the pack NFT is burned.
But the five other card in that card will be mint as an NFT to an nft to your wallet oh interesting wow okay cool
yeah that's one model we have thought about but uh it's just an idea for now but right i really
think that uh that would be a pretty cool model to work with yeah for sure sounds cool yeah nice Sounds cool. Yeah, nice. There's the rest of the year will be very exciting for that.
Looking forward to all these potential features.
You're going to have to, it's going to be hard work deciding what to prior, I guess,
with everyone requesting everything.
Yeah, and I'm here to over promise and tell you guys that all those features will happen.
Someone's going to hate you for that one day, but
Yo, congrats on the soft launch. It looks cool. I'll definitely be checking it out more guys.
You know, I'll just be paying attention, seeing what you guys add, what you guys change,
seeing how it develops. But, you know, I think that RWAs in general are really cool.
I think that it's just like a natural progression in the technology that we have here in crypto.
And I think that the TCG side of things is just a natural crossover with the gamers and the tech that we have here in general.
And with the boom that we've been seeing in TCG's over the last couple of years.
And, you know, obviously it ebbs and flows a lot.
But I think that this stuff just makes a lot of sense.
And figuring out the
distribution is a really big part of it.
So if you guys can do that successfully and fluently and make it efficient, then, you
know, there's definitely a big market in TCGs to capture.
So congrats and good luck.
Congrats on the launch.
It's been a good show.
Thank you for coming on.
And yeah, it was for sure.
Excited to have been able to present that to the community.
Thank you guys.
Thank you guys for coming on.
Thanks for having me.
Thank you guys.
One second.
So that was quite the quite the presentation i i'm trying to think about what what excited me
specifically the most and it's like it was literally theban's question about longing and
shorting so we'll see i think the the fact that we're building this on Ronin,
what it empowers it for,
what it empowers it with for, I don't know,
is up to almost the imagination of the teams
that are going to be working on this, right?
So we'll see.
So yeah, remember to participate in the giveaway,
the Ronin Radio one, if you haven't.
I think we already selected the winners.
Let me find the list.
We have CallMeJohnLee0xChrome666, 0xEG, and Wymir0021.
If you're in chat, let me know.
Reach out to the team.
Thanks to Bean, Nix, and cairo for coming on and follow ronan radio
and see you guys all next week
