GM GM GM looks like a were still
listening to your people.
Yep, can hear you. Great. Yeah, I think there are maybe try rejoining.
Yeah, I can hear you. Okay, okay, should we start while we're waiting for others? Yeah, well, we're setting up so when I point out that today this space is being rewarded by the Dow Initiative bank ape, so we'd really appreciate it if the pin tweet there if everyone can
retweet it. If you have a thank-ape account, you'll get 5 a coin as part of the season 2 rewards. If you've already retweeted it, just un-retweet and retweet again. If you have not been part of thank-ape, thank-ape is an initiative. The rewards meaningful contribution
of the DAO, which includes like participating in spaces such as this and being involved in other matters in the DAO. So we'll pin another tweet as well because you can go to your account, set it up, thank you.com, and you can retweet the space and get credit today, and you can learn more about Acorn DAO if it's your first time joining us.
Awesome, awesome. Thank you for sharing. I'm just gonna kick off this space while waiting for other Welcome to our special console election season and equine equine with special console consoles and candidates. This is the last week of special console election
and we're here with our current special consoles, Yacht, Jerry, G, and myself, and the special console anomalies to hear their thoughts on the dial. So GM, GA, JN, thank everyone for joining today and how's everyone doing?
I'm doing great. Thank you. And this is a point of reference. This is also going to be my last week as special council members. So this is both special and emotional, but at the same time, looking forward to hear what all the new candidates have to have to say. We're going to miss you, Yacht.
So, well, I just wanted to comment here, you don't need to own a B-A-Y-C or M-A-Y-C to be part of our DAO. You only need one ape to participate, ape quintile. And this Twitter space is gonna be focused on election, on nominees. So, we will have another space which is our
monthly Abe Quinn Space for Q&A with community. Thanks for understanding and we're going to keep the conversation around the election in this Twitter space. And the culture has been found new expressions of Web 3s are out, gaming, entertainment and events. The possibilities of blockchains impact on culture are
so endless that we can't possibly all predict it yet. So APCoin is a token that made to support what's next controlled and abused by the community. It will serve as a decentralized protocol layer for community-led initiative step drive culture forward into that metaverse. So before we dive into the conversation, I'm
we're joining our Twitter space, please help us retweet this space and attract more people to join. So, Special Council election was executed and followed by AIP1 and AIP138. And this is the second round and the last round of Special Council election process, two of five
will be elected to special council and replace the role of Yacht and Alexis. So really sad to say Yacht is leaving us and this snapshot will end June 28th, 2023, 6pm PT and 9pm ET. So please vote.
candidates will join our debate and the schedule graph created by Sarah will be pinned here if anyone can pin it. Thank you. And for this Twitter space, we'll start with an intro of nominees and then we'll open the Twitter space, the stage for other
to ask questions. Feel free to request big. Before that, do you want to talk? No, I think why do we ask introductions? I do have some questions for the candidates. I'd love to hear there is
So why don't we have the candidates introduce themselves? Of course, sounds good. So we'll welcome all the candidates and thanks everyone for applying and participating in the Dow and then we can go start with what the introduction. Hey, thanks for having me out there everybody. I'm with BAM.
I've been an 8-coin Dow contributor for about 10 months now. I was one of the co-founders of 8-coms and then I helped create AIP 196, the Board AIP that set up working group zero and transition between Dow administrators and ran the RFP and
set created recommendations for future working groups, including the governance working group that's now up for election. So you know, been around in a doubt a long time, and fortunate to work closely with special counsel, including a lot of the folks on stage here. My background before that was I was a lawyer at a marketing office.
firm for a number of years before I left late last summer to jump full into Web 3. So I've been participating in 8.0 ever since. I'm running for Special Counsel because I think I've got a skill set that is a really good for Special Counsel and I think I could bring a lot to the table though.
Awesome, thank you. Kamu, are you next? Hi everyone, I'm Kamu, good to be here and thanks for hosting this space. Yeah, so I live in different countries in the Canada, China, Hong Kong, UK, Japan.
So I believe my international background can bring a lot of value to the point community, special council. Yeah, so I have a master degree in nonprofit management. So I have this strong interest in serving the community, charity space, experience in the
foundation level, not just outside from the W3, so it's long before that already. I'm an entrepreneur, I studied my own company in 2012, it's just a tech startup, so we got a proposal to be a product for Expedia, five years after we started the company, but we later decided
to sell some shares to the Alibaba. So we are working with Alibaba globally on their travel tag initiatives. Yeah, very lucky, the competing phrase is very strong even after the COVID time, the hard time we had. So it's a experiment, it's a child record showing that I've been through some really tough times.
We were in trouble business, we got COVID-19 out of cash roll. I think entrepreneur spirit is something that definitely gonna be very helpful for the 8.com community. I joined a space 2017. It was from the ICO. So I've been through the ICO bubble the crazy cycle.
Being full-time in crypto over two years, in the past 18 months, I've been full-time building at Dao. It's got eight Dao, number eight. Yeah, so we started with a small group of small groups of ponds and apes and NFT holders. Right now we have 200 members from 15 countries.
VCs, equipment exchange, lawyer, founders, very diverse background. So we're not just a community with good vibe. We build investment arms such as venture investment arm to a couple of early stage wealthy projects and that is fun.
So I have experience in building constructed initiatives using the Dow format. I'm already in Dow. I've been spending a lot of time studying different types of Dow, EMS, NOWS Dow, KELT Dow, even DIVA protocols.
I want to bring my ease and experience to the 8coin special council. And finally, I see look at the profile picture. Shout out to Yasu. We both got the mocha and board 8 in the same picture. I hope you like my mocha holding the 8coin.
Thank you for the introduction. Let's move on to Suki. Hello everybody. I'm Suki. I started here as an artist and collector. I'm a community builder, co-founder of NMTBA, spaced us, and other block. These are all events, but also platforms that
of the community through sports and art. My background comes from journalism and it spans academia to nonprofits. My professional experience is 100% aligned with the special council. I worked at a documentary fund where we evaluated proposals, made recommendations based on the funds mission. And we also worked in collaboration
legal on regulations pertaining to 501(c)(3) as well as compliance and reporting functional expenses regarding grants. I've lobbied Congress in Washington, D.C. for higher education. So a lot of the proposing policy amendments, all this government governance section is not
New to me, I've been in it for a long time. For me, the special council has one job, which is to ensure that the AIPs are executed to the best interest of the Dow, both on the regulatory side and the vision side. And I believe that I can do both. I'm both a professional foundation environment.
And I've had a lot of impact on the community with all of the things that I've built here. So I believe that my experience is pretty valuable because I've been impactful in team environments and I've been effective and I hope to do this with the Dow long term and hopefully with special counsel. Thank you. Thank you for the introduction.
and we'll move on to Captain Trippi. Thank you. Hey, thank you everybody. I'm for hosting this. I feel like we've been on the debate. I won't call it a power hour. Power day here. It's been a lot of fun getting another
the candidates. But anyway, yeah, so about me, I've been around in the space for, obviously been in crypto for a long time, you know, but not in, we'll call it Web 3 until probably early 2021. And since early 2021, I fell in love with the
community aspect of Web 3. And that was to begin with the Bordeaux Club and had the benefit of being in the Bordeaux Club from the very beginning and being able to be a part of it as it is grown. And so I remember the very early days when we were meeting together as a community in
in various cities really across the world. But for me, being where I live, my first meetups were in Chicago and in Denver. And then, and those, you know, already the friendships that I had made across the space really came together with the in real life meetups. And then really
kind of a best one with the warehouse party was really where you know again where we're just continue to fall in love with the space and so over that time period I have become more and more involved in various areas you know been an active community member for several years
years now. Most recently I have been community council if you will for tally labs for their azzarbala version 2 and that's been a lot of fun. I had a chance to work with thread guy there and I just an amazing team all around and my background is
business and I didn't start with a background in business. I didn't go to school for business. Went to school for something very different. You know, graduated higher education and then got into business and really learned business from not from textbooks but from cutting my teeth and from
making mistakes and from learning and really I think you do that. There's a difference in learning in school like how to grow a business, how operate a business and then there's like the real world experience and like stumbling and falling and trying to figure out how to make payroll and all those type things and really working from the ground
up and building something and so I've been blessed to have success in that and to be, to have done it over the last 15 years. And over the last couple of years I have found myself, you know, going to bed, waking up, thinking about Web 3 literally constantly, in this space literally constantly. And so,
Now I look at the 8 point Dow and the broader space as a whole and look at myself and I think that a lot of the experience that I've had in my life have led me to this point right now and where we are and so I really hope that I get the opportunity to serve on the board. I think I can bring a lot to the table and help
continue to build on the great job that the current board is doing. Thank you. Thank you, Captain, for our input and the threat. Thank you. First of all, shout out to Abe Coinshaw to Vera Jerry and everyone up on the stage for hosting
this discussion. Campaign season has been a lot trick and I'm absolutely loving the debates in the conversations. I'm Thread Guy, I'm an entrepreneur and ultimately a thought leader in the Web 3 space. I have been full-time in Web 3 for over two years in an integral part of the MutantNate community since December of
of 2021, I currently, as Trippi mentioned, am an advisor on the Tally Labs team, and I've contributed to many projects and experiences within the Web 3 space. I believe that really I am a voice for the Web 3 community by keeping a finger on the polls and integrating myself into the culture.
Through that, I think I fill a major gap within the special counsel team in the APKWIN Dow at large. Ultimately, I'm here to bring the culture back to reignite the APKWIN Dow and onboard the talent that I believe the Dow needs to move the needle through AIPs and the resources that we can provide.
Thank you for the intro. So we're going to have another question. Then we will open stage for the community to ask questions for them. So could each of you share your vision of a quintile? I know some of you guys already mentioned, but and also why you should be elected. Thank you. We can start with
Chippy. Sure, thank you. You know, 12 month term is, it's about the long time and not a long time at the same thing. And the reason why I say that is because there's a lot to do. And so I think whatever we do on special
Council is going to be helping to lay a foundation and build upon and ultimately hope to transcend our term. So I see a point in a very unique opportunity and that is one of our primary
mandate, I believe, is to have eight coin be the token of Web 3. And I think we have a unique opportunity to make that happen. And I do think that the time is now to do that. Reason for that in particular is there's a lot of regulatory uncertainty around token launches.
And a lot of teams have either halted or completely scrapped the launch of tokens. We have it. We have the Dow. We have the talent. We have the the finances and we can continue to to kind of build that on and bring other teams on. And so, you know, I'm excited for the opportunity to
change the thought process of not, you know, waiting on things to happen within certain companies for 8coin, but to get the overall ecosystem as a whole, shifting their thought into how we can build for 8coin, just like currently, how we think about how we can build for our IP.
and put our IP usage to use and see the explosion of IP usage across the ecosystem. And how do we make 8-point have that same explosion if you will of use cases and usage across our overall ecosystem. And the more it's
use the more people will build on it, more communities, more projects will build on it and it just kind of continues to feed on itself from there. And so we have that going on. At the end of the term, I also believe that we're in a unique opportunity for both hiring and with the
working groups to be able to get the absolute best people in the right seats, not just on special counsel, but also across our DAO as a whole. So that's very important to me. And just overall, again, usage of eight coin needs to explain.
Oh gosh, I was actually before this space as I was writing an essay about this and I'm happy to be here and yeah I'll stop there. I had more to say but I'm gonna stop there and let somebody else go.
Thank you, thank you, Captain. Well, let's we keep going next. Hi, um, yes, so I want to start with of course that the entire purpose of this foundation is to administer grants, right? So this is one of the largest endowments to exist.
The special counsel exists to make sure that nothing can get to vote unless it is properly researched for the risk to the foundation. So a lot of my background takes care of the understanding of that. But my vision for the Dow is three things that I'm really interested in.
One is education, educating people to understand that 1-8-point entry equals membership, right? Because right now there's this huge disconnect about how people think that they need a board-ape or a mutant in order to come into the ecosystem, which is not true.
The other thing is cross-community connection, so leveraging community, finding ways that we can attract the right people to come into the ecosystem and continue building concurrently parallel as we are creating governance. So for me right now, what I see
is that there needs to be an incentive for those who have built and created here. And I find the best way to kind of tackle this is to look at mechanics and incentives for artists to use it. And I do agree that gaming is going to be a big, large portion of
But I also believe that in real life utility and experiences are going to be crucial to that as well. You know, we talk a lot here in the community. A lot of people think that they want ape going to go up like they think that this is the purpose of
the Apecoin Foundation as well as the Dow and really it's not. I always explain to them that creating experiences within the community and building on top of Apecoin will naturally lead to adoption, will naturally lead to cross community and cross collaborations that
will really put APCOIN up at the forefront and center of a lot of these tokens. So while I agree that we need to go into the meta and build there, I do believe that the experience that I have building here in real life can also contribute to the ecosystem.
Thank you, Suki. Next, we're going to go to the threat guy. Thank you for the question. I believe that the Abecoin Dow should be the blueprint for Dow's at large. Abecoin should be the underlying token that propels
and powers what we're forward. I think that the only way to truly ensure this vision is to increase brand awareness, to incentivize participation and most importantly to attract the builders in a talent right now that can bring a positive impact on
the short term success of the Dow, which ultimately scales and optimizes long term success within our ecosystem. I think that my unique perspective as one, a thought leader and community pillar in the Web 3 space, but two, my ability and history of keeping a
We'll go to the next, the World Bank.
Hey, thank you. Yeah, so you know my vision for 8 point is that it It becomes the coin of metaverse culture and blockchain gaming and what I mean by that is that 8 point is used in every major Blockchain game. It's used in every metaverse experience. You know people are a
to play, to play, blockchain games in virtual world, they're able to earn ape playing a game in one world, then they're able to go and use that ape to experience something in the metaverse elsewhere, or they're able to cash, to cash that ape out for real life money. You know, when I was a kid, I played a lot of MLR
RPGs and I was really lucky that I was able to sell a bunch of gold in game gold to be a life money and it changed my life. And I think AP has that potential to do that, but on a way bigger scale. AP can proliferate, AP can become ubiquitous with Web 3 and ubiquitous with gaming. So that's my vision long-term
for April, in terms of the next year, during the term that I would be on special counsel if I'm elected, I would like to see us accomplish a few longstanding goals of the community. I'd like to see us have to finally have communications and marketing strategy, to hire communications and marketing team and to have a proper onboarding
growth strategy. I would like to see us exploring treasury management opportunities so that we can create some revenue and perhaps make the Dow sustainable so that we can be a grand staff or we can be a grand staff for decades. I would like to see us explore partnerships with blockchain gaming companies, explore partnerships with
companies that want to build experiences in the metaverse so that we can create those ape use cases and so that we can give people a reason to be onboarded into ape coin Dow, really build out this ecosystem and reach our potential. Thank you, Alvin. We'll go to the next Karma.
Thank you for the question. My vision for 8 point out is we're gonna make 8 coin to be the symbol of breathless culture. So including metaphors,
But also other experts such as fashion, music, education. So we are in a very good position in the leading role right now to do that, to achieve that. So this is my vision for
